I called them to get a quote. They claimed they were giving me discounts but could only guarantee the price if I took it then and didn't hang up. I was just shopping for prices. They claimed they had a truck picking up furniture in a neighboring town, and I had less than a one bedroom size amount of totes and two small pieces of furniture it would work out great. It would be delivered from FL to WI within 5-7 business days barring no bad weather or truck issues. I said great. BIG MISTAKE. They said I could pay for the entire delivery up front with credit card. THAT IS THE FIRST LIE THEY TELL YOU!! You can pay by credit card on the phone for half. The next portion has to be paid by cash or Zelle when they pick up the items and it is half of the remaining balance, plus tip for those drivers. Then drop off has to be paid in cash or Zelle plus tip.

Charter Van Lines reached out to me. The salesperson was nice but told me other companies would contact me but not to respond because Charter is the best. I believed him. They sent me an estimate which I thought was a quote or would be close in cost. We reviewed it over the phone a few times. I asked them if my stuff would be the only items on the truck and they said yes. The day the movers showed up, I found out that that was not true. There were going to be other customer's things loaded on the truck as well. Also, Charter Van Lines does not do the move themselves, they contract it out. The person onsite looked at my stuff and then double the cost that they told me it would be.

We had a move from Cannelton Indiana to Bay St Louis Mississippi…on Sept 15 didn’t receive the truck till after the 1st of October. The packers were very thorough…they had to make several stops to drop other locations means our stuff got shifted around in the truck. We had 2 broken TVS and a shattered very expensive painting. Over 1000.00 of damages. The claim department denied our claim. We had bad experience before but by far these are the worst to do business with. I would not advise this company

My review is in the gutter or lower. My elderly mother hired Charter Van Lines believing that they are a moving company. They are in fact, NOT! They are a brokerage company. This is information that they do provide if you have a law degree and a magnifying glass. My mother understood them to be a moving company. No one during her process of laying down thousands of dollars ever made mention that they were not a moving company. They subcontract everything.

I contacted Charter Van Lines last year November of 2024. Got my quote and ended up moving on February 1 of 2025. Horrible experience, first off the company they hired to move us from St Louis Mo was Midwest Moving Company which I didn’t know at the time that they were brokering our move from another company. They didn’t tell us that someone else besides Charter Van Lines was moving us and I should have checked myself. Anyway the movers showed up with a large moving truck like the size of a large U-Haul truck probably 20-26 foot. 2 people came and looked at our move and said it wouldn’t fit all our stuff and the guys were really rude and hateful and was very unprofessional movers. Anyway they told us they would only fill truck half full with our move. We were upset and had to be out of house.

I was planning a move from Idaho to Illinois and got connected with Charter Van Lines after requesting a quote. Their rep, Jesse, repeatedly called me back after I had declined, pressuring me to “book immediately” or risk missing a truck. Under that pressure, I placed a $1,174.25 deposit on September 5, 2025. Within just a few hours, my job situation changed, and I called to cancel. Despite no services being rendered and cancellation occurring the same day, the company refused to refund my deposit, citing an internal “nonrefundable within seven days” policy. I called and emailed multiple times but received no response.

DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY!!!! They will go over your inventory with you, knowing how much much stuff you have and tell you one price to get you to book with them and then when the movers get there it's way more expensive. Then when I called customer service to explain that half my items that were on the list would not fit, she told me I would have to pay more. Keep in mind all of these items were on the list to go on the truck. Then once they delivered my things and I started to unpack, I noticed my 80 inch tv screen was broken. Something stabbed it right through the box. They told me to file a claim. It's been 3 weeks now and I still have not heard anything. This company is horrible. You are better off renting a UHAUL and doing it yourself.

The sales team, dealt with Ryan, promise you the moon and stars. Once you’re under contract, they’ll stop taking your calls. They hire subpar local movers and when issues arise, they won’t speak to you. Hire a local mover on your own and research them. Else, you have no clue who’s moving you until they’re at your door and you’re stuck!

Charter Van Lines is an unethical company that engaged in misrepresentation, withheld information, and misled me. I paid a deposit for their services. I asked questions, and all of those questions got deferred to a "Quality Assurance" call that conveniently fell within the non-refundable window. During that call, I discovered that the previous agent had lied to me about critical information (I have the email threads and paper trail to verify this), and engineered circumstances to block me from getting a refund. This was one of the worst, frustrating, and unethical business experiences I have had. I highly discourage you from engaging in business with them. I ended up using FlatRate Miami for moving and I couldn't recommend them highly enough. FlatRate was professional, ethical, and transparent. Charter Van Lines deserves 0 stars.

My tenant moved in with me over a month ago, and their stuff was slated to arrive less than a week from pickup, timed to be when she arrived. It's been over a month of waiting, and her stuff hasn't left the original state! This company is incredibly rude and disrespectful, wasting her time and punting her around to numbers that don't pick up for a young woman moving solo across the US. They'll quote you a great price because they're lying about the quality of services they offer -- RUN as fast as you can from this company. You're being scammed and they will not try to help you at all.

Do not move with this company.

I had a disappointing experience with Charter Van Lines. Bobby, one of their representatives, was extremely pushy. When I told him I wouldn’t be booking today, I wanted to look at reviews he hung up on me—a very unprofessional reaction. Additionally, the level of communication was overwhelming and intrusive: I received four emails within three hours and six phone calls within a few hours, starting at 6 AM. This aggressive approach made me feel uncomfortable rather than valued as a potential customer. I would not recommend Charter Van Lines based on this experience, nor would I contact them for any quotes based on Bobby's professionalism.

Charter Van lines picked up my daughter's personal property from Ohio to move to North Carolina. It took 3 months. They would schedule a delivery date and then cancel last minute. They broke an entire box of dishes while loading the truck, this was never accounted for. Charter Van Lines customer service stated they would compensate at $50/day for each cancelled date. They then came back with a total of $50.00 compensation, then again came back with $0.00 compensation. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!!! This is by far the worst moving company ever, and it was not cheap. The customer service center refuses to be helpful. Mr. David Gray, the vice president, should be ashamed of his employees!

With the help of Charter Van Lines Inc, my family and I have relocated from WA to TX. The discussion went quite well. They were sympathetic and polite, acting in a manner that was just. Whoa! They were incredibly helpful and accommodating to our needs. Way to go, Charter Van Lines Inc!

Over the course of the last few months, I have made extensive use of Charter Van Lines Inc many services, including packing, moving, storing, and unpacking. Louis and the gang can accommodate practically every request. They have moved me multiple times and have always been on time, provided wonderful service, and been careful with my stuff.

My family and I moved from ME to NE and two guys helped us unload our 26ft moving truck quickly and efficiently. They listened about where we wanted certain items and were more than willing to move things around for us. Their customer service and attitudes were fantastic and we are very happy with the service we received!

I have a huge collection of ceramic bowls from my travels, and these movers brought specialized packing materials just for them. Every single bowl made it without a scratch. It was like they knew exactly what each one needed.

They powered through like champs. They brought their own water cooler and kept hydrating while staying cheerful. My stuff made it without a single problem, even my candles didn’t melt! I am so grateful to find such a great moving company.

It was a real nightmare. They broke several furnitures and they subcontract another company nexrelocation. HORRIBLE! Stay away! Was stressful. Lack of professionalism and the initial price was raised 4 times and worst nightmare the deliver guy!!!! He was swearing all the time. They came 2 weeks later than agreed. Lies and more lies... They say will be at 7 am then 9 and finally show up later than midday. They lost items and broked another's.... Best advice stay away!

This will definitely be my go-to company for handling relocations! I had a small studio apartment but a lot of fragile artwork to move, but their team treated each piece like it was their own. They carefully wrapped and secured them in double layers because of which when I unpacked, every single item was in mint condition! I’m so glad I chose them for this job!

Charter Van Lines Inc guys went above and beyond during my recent move, despite a minor setback. Their truck unexpectedly broke down midway through the loading process. However, they remained calm and professional, immediately contacting a tow truck and arranging for a replacement vehicle. While waiting, they wrapped all my furniture and fragile items with bubble wrap and packing peanuts. The replacement truck arrived within an hour, and they wasted no time loading everything. Even with the delay, they managed to complete the move within the original timeframe. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

My cross-country move was a breeze. Karter and his crew were entirely professional and took the job seriously – which was great. From packing to delivery, they handled each task themselves and I didn’t have to worry about anything. I couldn’t be more pleased!

The movers performed an amazing job and were kind, accommodating, and supportive the entire time. Their work is of outstanding quality, and everything was labelled with names, which shows a good work ethic. Chase handled all of my problems in a very professional manner.

My coffee table had loose legs, so they tightened them before moving it. They also double-checked the inventory list at the end, ensuring nothing was left behind.

This moving company made it feel so easy! They were available on just two days' notice and called the day before to confirm everything. I have a baby grand piano, and I was scared about moving it. The movers were so careful, using special boards and padding to protect it. They tightened a loose piano leg for me! Every box was labeled and placed in the correct room. They didn’t rush, and by the end of the day, nothing was scratched or broken.

I have nothing but praise for this company! They went above and beyond to reduce the stress associated with our transfer from NE to MI. Our 2450 sq ft home was expertly and efficiently cleaned by their crew. They also loaded our priceless antiques onto the truck with care. They also gave us specialized crates so our equipment would be secure. Excellent service!

I used these movers recently to cover our commercial shift. The workforce was commendable, Arthur and Darrin were great packers was a terrific supervisor, and he managed to get things shifted and settled quickly; I had a beyond satisfactory shifting experience with these movers.

Based on a coworker's suggestion, we hired their movers, and we are really pleased with their quality of service. Smith and the team showed punctuality, professionalism, and courtesy. They also used coloured sticky notes to identify each box after they packed our things, just as we had asked.

Kind David helped me move out, attended to my requirements, and carefully wrapped everything. Because everyone was working together so efficiently, we were able to finish in under 20 minutes.

They were very open and patient with all of my requests. They were very helpful when I needed a place to store my things for a few weeks. Edward along with his team arrived on the given time and told everyone to relax and chill. I really enjoyed the whole move.

What a lovely experience with Charter Van Lines Inc. My wife and I had a smooth move into our new flat. All our possessions were wrapped thoroughly and the boxes were tagged with sticky notes of itemized lists. Everything was delivered safely to us. Many thanks!

We recently hired their movers for our move into a new apartment, few blocks away from our previous place. They arrived earlier than the scheduled time and began working quickly. They packed and delivered everything safely. After delivery, they also reassembled our beds for us. We absolutely recommend them!
