Our organization went through a lengthy process exploring password-management solutions. We ultimately selected Dashlane based on the features advertised (these ARE NOT the features actually offered) and our limited internal trials. On a small scale, Dashlane might be fine if your org manages relatively few passwords and doesn't need to sync often. However, for a corporate solution, Dashlane is an absolute nightmare.
Our passwords very rarely sync, which ends up creating an IT overload as resources are squandered trying to help many employees every single time a password is updated. Moreover, we encountered several instances where passwords suddenly stopped working, to ultimately find out that the passwords had somehow reverted to very old passwords. Overall, Dashlane is without doubt one of the worst platforms I have ever used and that's saying something. I've been in this industry for more than ten years and have seen some truly awful apps but this one is easily the worst experience I've endured.

I've used Dashlane for three or four years now, and I was a big believer early on in that period. But in the last year+, the product has really gone to **. Basic password functionality doesn't work properly anymore (on major websites, like Google, for example) and I'm constantly having to go back and forth to manually copy my login. You know what I could do just as quickly and easily? A DAMN SPREADSHEET with all my passwords, which is what I used to do. These guys have clearly cashed out and don't give a ** anymore. You can't contact them, the only thing they've improved lately are the graphics and logo... at the expense of yet MORE sites no longer working. Thanks for nothing, I wish I could get back the money I gave them. It feels like fraud at this point. I can't begin to express how angry I am at these scammers.

I've used Dashlane for over three years and in the beginning it was a good service that worked well and was reliable. Over the past year it has gotten SLOW SLOW SLOW. If the app is minimized on my desktop I have to completely exit the program and log in again to get it back to a functional state. It "syncs" but doesn't really sync so any password updated on another device may or may not work because after the app says it has synced there are always passwords that aren't current. If I look on one device it will have a different version of the password than another device. It can take up to an hour before they completely sync. The autofill function works about half the time and simply won't work at all at times. In short, I find Dashlane expensive for the level of service they provide and am looking for alternatives that are easier to use.

I have stored my IDs and Passwords on Dashlane for years. Open a site and (if those items were saved to Dashlane) Dashlane logs you in and completes name, address, etc. on certain forms. IT WAS GREAT UNTIL THEY 'UPGRADED.' Now, none of that works. They want to tie you to Chrome and you have to logon to Dashlane each time you open Chrome. It no longer fills in my ID and Passwords on the sites I visit most and I PAY FOR "PREMIUM." No problem, talk to someone! Their site even says they don't have people answering calls!! Keep fishing around to find a question that closes matches your issue and I'll bet the answer(s) don't fix your issue. Now, I have to find something else that's easy to use and works like Dashlane used to work!

I've used Dashlane for years and, for the most part, it served its function. But they recently released this "makeover" and now it's no longer doing what it is supposed to do - log me in to sites, fill in my personal info, etc.. I have to input everything as if I don't have a password manager. Every site I open it asks if I want to set this up for the first time, like my address, or email, etc. yet it has all the data in my vault. Bottom line, it is not recognizing all my data that is in my vault already and I am stuck having to re-input it all. And so now I am creating two sets of all my data in my vault. So, if you are new to Dashlane, I am guessing it will work fine for you since you have to enter in all your info anyway. I was already on the fence as to switching to another provider as it has certainly had its issues in the past. This latest upgrade on their part has done me in.

I have tried Dashlane couple of times. It did not work properly inputting passwords on the websites, most of the time it does not recognize & many times you have to click the icon couple of times to input password. Also when you open the browser you have to click Dashlane icon multiple times to give you the master password screen. I have installed the mobile version on iPhone it has crashed.
Dashlane has very good advertising. I have got tempted many times & many reliable reviews also say dash lane is number 1, but when you try using it one comes to know it is Junk. In my opinion 1Password shines here. In my trial Dahslane failed on all the sites I used to input password. I have since then purchased 1password and I am very happy with it. 1password is very stable and robust password auto fill function & app for all platforms.

I have been using Dashlane for the past two years. It is very easy to install and when you add it to another computer it saves all of your information to the new computer. I love the built in password protect feature that even takes me to the website for that particular password. When I am going to an unknown website that may have a Trojan or other virus, it automatically blocks me from that website and I will get a popup stating why I should not go there. The only annoying thing with Dashlane is that it has too many popups, even when there is no apparent danger. Aside from the annoying popups, it does its job and I would highly recommend it.

DO NOT RISK YOUR DATA WITH DASHLANE UNLESS YOU ARE WILLING TO SPEND MONEY ON THE PREMIUM VERSION. I originally used Dashlane's free version and for a while it was going well until one day I was unable to log into my master account with my frequently used, master password. I even tried resetting my master password and I was still locked out of my account and given the "incorrect password" error. Luckily I had created a backup from about a couple months prior, so I had majority of my passwords saved, but had I not done this, I would be locked out of my account and effectively lose all of my saved passwords. I spoke with Dashlane regarding this MAJOR issue and I was given little to no help. Don't take the risk with Dashlane unless you're willing to spend money on the premium version and/or make regular backups.

I was an avid fan of Dashlane. Used it for years personally and then we implemented at work with a Business Account which was "sold" by their sales team as having a bunch of bells and whistles which simply do not work. We are so frustrated that we are paying hundreds of dollars a year and cannot get simple questions answered or bugs worked out. Their "password health" panel that lets you look at the password safety of all employees DOES NOT WORK - it does not sync, does not actually show password health properly and some accounts show our employees don't use it - when in fact they are using it and have passwords saved.
Most recently the auto fill function has stopped working - so every time you go to log in to a website, it says "Generate Password" and does not allow you to enter the password you already have saved, making you have to manually cut and paste the password out of the program and into the site. Dashlane please fix these issues or respond to your customer's help tickets.

Do not download this program. After downloading the "so called" free version of this software to manage my passwords, evidently Dashlane gives your e-mail address to anyone who wants it. After going to Google to block these various e-mail senders, the blocking did not work and I continue to get unlimited "phishing" spam. This is absurd.

We've been using Dashlane since we first found out about it in 2011. The free version was offered and we opted for the paid version shortly afterward. So far we have 354 different passwords. Why? Because we can. I've become a little more savvy in protecting our online identity and Dashlane fills the bill. It is not perfect and sometimes it will try to interfere when looking at a site that I don't want to log onto. But, small price to pay. I have my password generator set to 20 characters, including symbols where allowed. In the past year, Dashlane rolled out new pricing and added features. Unfortunately I'm forced to pay for a VPN that I do not want and the prices have risen considerably. Welcome to the new world! All in all, I've used Dashlane with only one tech support request and that was handled promptly and successfully.

If you can get Dashlane to work more than 30% of the time, I applaud you. The software does 1 thing and it is so buggy. No idea what they are using the funding money for. Definitely not for their engineering team. I couldn't install my Firefox extension after reinstalling my browser. After 7 days, support couldn't help me nor send me a link to download the extension. I was able to figure out how to solve it myself. Needed to just use the link for Chrome and it prompted for Firefox when on the page. Support ended up closing the ticket and telling me he resolved the issue. One week with no access to any of my accounts on Dashlane. Imagine that. Granted, it helps to be intelligent before doing this. Don't start a free trial if you didn't think they would ever charge you after. Read what they are saying. Everyone else with low stars simply missed these obvious things. Sometimes there are new permissions required on update so you click the Dashlane icon in Chrome to accept new permissions before it will work again.
I did have some problems. Some pages don't work right and it helps if you can figure out how to report problems. Once I had it generate a new password but when I submitted, it went to a page where the Dashlane prompt came up to ask if I want to save the password then immediately jumped to another page so the prompt disappeared but did not come up again so I could not ever save the new password, and of course it had never told me what it was. I had to say I forgot the password and type my own so I would know what it is and enter it in manually to Dashlane. I'm on a special discount for 3 years pro, so I of course have to remember to cancel it if I don't want to be charged a higher price than what I paid for the renewal. Obviously that's how pretty much every deal works like this.
I need Dashlane for the feature of writing general text files that can be either opened quickly if you are logged in or require the master password to open, and they are all encrypted. I don't think this feature is in the other competitors, not what I've seen. The missing feature is that if I save a password, that entry has no miscellaneous field for example when they also require me to remember secret questions or an extra PIN.

I have a 2018 MacBook Air. After researching 2019's top rate password managers, Dashlane came in ahead of the pack time and again. So I purchased the (quite spendy) premium version of Dashlane on 4-13-19. What a mistake. I had nothing but trouble. When you log in via the internet, in my case Chrome, all features are not available. You have to download the Dashlane Desktop app to get all of the features. I did so, it would open then freeze. I would reboot and it would attempt to log me in then freeze. I uninstalled, reinstalled and it simply would not work. I spent hours chatting with Dashlane's CSR's trying to troubleshoot. Multiple screenshots sent of my issues. So frustrating, I finally demanded a refund, it took a few days and I had to keep hounding the CSR's (who were all very pleasant but could not resolve the problem), I have finally been issued a refund.
NOTE: THERE IS NO PHONE SUPPORT WITH DASHLANE! Should you find yourself having an issue, be prepared to spend hours typing and a boatload of frustration. I spent 3 days trying to get this resolved. I cannot imagine that Dashlane comes in at the top of available password managers. Do not be fooled by their cute little logo.

Used the product for about 2 years and have been generally very pleased. Since the update late last year performance on Windows 10 has made the product virtually unusable. I have found that the product will not clean up after closing leaving orphaned instances still running causing issues with other programs as well as Dashlane itself. The Chrome extension is problematic and buggy. I have not used the VPN as it really has no use other than just to protect the Dashlane connection. While support has been helpful via email, I was never able to connect via phone. They assisted in identifying the rogue instance and how to closed them, but I have not seen a patch or update to fix the underlying performance issues. Dashlane promises a lot of interesting features included in their service, a private VPN, password protection, automatic complex password generation, automatic fulfillment of username and password text boxes on websites and more. However, all of these features are either over exaggerated or flat out don't exist. Unlike most paid VPN's, Dashlane lacks the ability to spoof your location, an important feature which many people use to access content blocked in their country etc. Furthermore, the automatic password generations feature was buggy to all hell and was not functional for a overwhelming majority of the websites I used. Only 2 out of the say 40 websites I tried were compatible with their automatic complex password reassignment feature. This went double for their automatic text field fill in feature.
Dashlane promises that logging into sites with your new passwords will be a breeze. The ability to just click the Dashlane logo next to the text fields on most sites and have your information will automatically filled in was one of the main selling points of Dashlane. However, this feature did not work for nearly every site I chose. Major sites such as Google or Capital One did not work, and required me to open up the Dashlane app and copy and paste my new password in every time I wished to log in. Furthermore, Dashlane's accessibility for support is purely laughable. When asked a refund that fell well within the 30 day money back guarantee, they run around the question asking about your certainty to cancel their service. I even received an email offering me free discount codes which I could give to friends and family so they could try Dashlane as well.
However, I did not receive a direct response about a refund. Manually requesting a refund through any of the Dashlane apps is also impossible. It seems like there are many link redirects and runarounds put in place to purposely make obtaining a refund seem like going through a maze. Dashlane only gave me a refund when I contacted PayPal myself, and had them send a formal request to pay me back. Overall, I can't express enough how much I recommend against anyone purchasing Dashlane, unless they wish to have a confusing and miserable $40 experience.

Alright I'll get straight to the point. If using on personal platforms this product is ideal. Basic and Pro work really well. Where they fall down is when you start looking at the business mode. In theory the additional features on this plan work well. Where it falls over, is that they have not taken into account that many business users/deployments will be using use advanced business installations of windows. Dashlane simply does not cope well with basic domain features as user roaming profiles and redirected folders (especially %appdata%).
Another negative is that Dashlane insist on keeping previous versions of itself when the application is updated, all of which are stored in the user's appdata folder. Since using Dashlane, I now have five different versions sitting in my appdata. That's 1.5Gb of disk space used for this relatively simple app. If you bear this in mind you can see how this causes all kinds of havoc for roaming users. Even more so if your network admin has applied strict quota limits.
This simply does not make sense and previous calls to their support seem to hit a blank. Why not clean up after itself on install and remove previous versions? If you need to keep the last version to revert to, fine but four previous versions. That's just bad design. I've resorted to uninstalling the windows client now and just use the browser extensions but these are limited and do not offer the extra features you pay for when using business editions. So at the moment, it is not value for money.

Shortly, I was subtly informed that the $39 that I stupidly paid for the annual subscription would no longer be the full cost of it. Instead, I would be automatically paying $5.99 a month, paid with one annual credit card charge and that the charge would be done each year until I initiated a cancel action. I then had to resort to a search engine to find out where and how I could cancel; the program itself made it impossible to find this information. And then, the cancel action, when I found it, would not "cancel" the subscription. It merely downgraded it so Dashlane made sure to keep their hooks in me. I'll change that!

I'll start off and say that when the Dashlane Password Manager worked it actually worked pretty well. My problem is that the autofill feature in the browser would stop working altogether after a random amount of times. To fix it, I would have to kill Dashlane, remove the extension from my browser, and kill my browser. I would then have to start Dashlane, install the extension again, and the re-authenticate. Sometimes the authentication part for the extension wouldn't work meaning I would have to go through the process again. Dashlane would break about 3 to 6 times a week causing me to go through the process repeatedly.
I have the paid premium subscription which is advertised as having instant replies from support. I'm going to say that is not true. It would take them 48 hours or longer to get back to me. This was made all the more frustrating when I would get replies back telling me to do things I had previously tried (adding more time to get an actual response) or things that don't seem to have any relation to the problem at hand.
My support ticket was opened for 2 months with a total of 10 replies (That's right, about 1 reply a week). I went through two tiers of support with the second rep being worse. The suggested fixes are the following: Re-installing extension (tried before opening ticket), Clearing browser cache (tried before opening ticket), Disabling anti-virus (this after proving that wasn't the cause), and Disabling all extensions except Dashlane.
The straw that broke the camel's back was when they closed my ticket telling me to just use another browser. This left me an option to rate my experience. After lambasting them in the rating I get an email only a few hours later (fastest response from them) backtracking and suggesting other useless fixes. I'm done with Dashlane. I have moved on to a different service. Dashlane will not be my password manager for 2019.

I have been using Dashlane for over a year and have requested problems to be fixed - they have not been fixed. It is cumbersome to use Dashlane in that logging in is tedious. To be clear to use Dashlane on mobile or Desktop a master password must be used and to be safe a lengthy password or multiple types of characters should be used. Yet trying to use their own feature of Windows passcode cannot be relied on. It will function until it stops functioning. They used to have a feature of keeping you logged in, that went away; now they have a two-week window to keep you logged in, but a user isn't assured of that working either.
My point is that a user is forced to have a text file located on the device to copy and paste. Clunky and not safe or useful. Also if a user has a lot of passwords there isn't a speedy way to find them. They offer a search feature but it doesn't work at times; not reliable. I requested a simple Alphabetized list or grid, they didn't respond. Also, syncing to mobile from desktop or vice versa isn't assured-sometimes the sync never happens. Also, they tout a major feature of never having to sign into websites: that feature is a joke as many websites change their pages without notice and combine sign-ins on a single page requiring a selected dropdown.
When the feature is installed a web browser, Dashlane will try to fill in any text block that matches what it thinks are correct and many times the pages are thus filled in incorrectly. Also, if the Dashlane is installed on a web browser and a user hovers over a particular UserID or password block a popup appears asking if you want to change your password or UserID; so clunky. It is better to uninstall the feature. Today I have had enough and will be going back to a PWM that is much simpler and I feel safer.

It never worked as promised -- just as badly as the free service -- and there is NO phone Customer Service. When I used the Chat feature, they couldn't help me at all. Sending a request by email got no response. What a disappointment. Find another password protector company. This one is not customer friendly and the Customer Support, unfortunately, is one of the worst I've ever dealt with. I'm sorry to be a downer, but if I had read this review before spending the money, I would honestly have gone somewhere else.

I have had subscriptions with Dashlane off and on because it didn't always work for me. On August 2, 2018, I ordered a new subscription for the Premium version which included some new features I wanted to try out. Shortly after that I decided to uninstall the software because it wasn't saving my passwords which was an issue before and it was repeatedly prompting me to log in which was annoying. Since I paid in full for the subscription there was no way I could cancel it and get a refund. I figure that's why they make us pay annually and not monthly which is an unfair advantage for the customer.
Since that time, I deleted the email address I used for that subscription because of identity theft issues that are too lengthy to explain here. I had to get rid of that email address, my cell phone, and my cell phone number because of it and I explained to the person at Dashlane that I no longer had access to that email address which means I could not log into the software unless they changed it for me. This is something Dashlane has to do for me since I had done it before without issue.
On October 30, 2018, I sent them an email requesting they change my email address to replace what they already had on file. My case is probably different from most because the email address that I had to use to sign in was another one that had been deleted back in 2016, but I still had to use it to log in. It could not be used for their verification codes so I had to use the former new email address that I am trying to replace now for those codes.
After several emails passed around from one person to another, the bottom line on their end is I have to submit a copy of an identification card to them to verify my identity. As a recent victim of identity theft and high risk from previous cases, this was not an option for me. I told all of them I was not sending a copy of any identification because it was a security risk especially for sending via email. I told them forget it. For the record, this is what they required to change my email and give me back access to my subscription which they were denying me:
"Could you please send me a copy (picture or scan) of your ID?", "Could you please give me the name of the two devices you are most active on with Dashlane?", "Could you please tell me how many passwords are saved in your Dashlane application (approximately)?", "Could you please confirm with me when your Dashlane account was created (month and year)?"
I told them there was no way I can answer most of these questions because I have no access to my passwords since they are preventing me access. The "two devices" question didn't make much sense either since often I forget to deactivate older devices and I had gotten rid of a few laptops recently. I couldn't tell them how many passwords I had because I haven't used Dashlane since I uninstalled it and there was no way to look it up without access which Dashlane was blocking me from. As for when the account was created, I wasn't sure whether they were talking about my original subscription in 2016 or this new one. I gave them an estimate.
Since then all I am getting from Dashlane representatives is a request for ID which is very suspicious to me. I asked them what good is my ID going to do them in relation to my email address change since there is no information on an ID card that could be compared to anything on record. It sounded like a scam to me. November 2 is the last time I received an email from Dashlane. November 5, I sent them the original email that showed when I paid this current subscription and haven't heard back from them. I doubt I will since they are intent on me providing my ID card and I refuse to since I never had to do it before when I had my email changed. Why now and for what reason?
I requested in my email of November 5 that I would like my subscription cancelled and I do not want it to renew. I cannot do this myself within the software since they have me blocked out of it. I think it is outrageous that Dashlane can hold my account hostage when I paid for it already and now using extortion tactics to give me back my access.
I told them I am not interested in the passwords or other data in my account because all of the passwords were recently deleted, the email address is long gone, and any other data in my account is useless. A solution would be to just open up a new account (free version), but I'm disconnected from my subscription and there is no way to get it back without them changing my email address. I keep emphasizing I do not need the data and it can be stripped. They aren't listening to me about that and keep saying they cannot do it unless I can show who I am. Ridiculous.
I doubt I can get a partial refund even though they owe me one for preventing me access. However if no refund is possible at the very lease I want my subscription and renewal cancelled so I am not charged again next year. They didn't respond to that email so I have no idea what they are doing. Probably nothing if they're still waiting for that ID card I won't send them.

KEEP AWAY FROM THIS SCAM COMPANY OR YOU WILL REGRET IT. I have Dashlane premium since about last 5 years and I never used it as I paid for almost 10 years in advance when I bought it without researching. When I tried to use it on my all PC's including LINUX I got to know they do not even have LINUX software. As they still do not have but somehow after 5 years they managed to build a plugin which do not allow you all access to your Dashlane account.
Now let's come to the worst part. I gave Dashlane website a visit today and thought about to use my account again. Then I thought why don't I upgrade my account for more years as I have decided to use it again. I still have 5 years on my account already by the way. They mention on their website $3.33 and $39.99 of total. But what they did not mention is about their renewal price. As I was already a premium user I entered my previous account email and as soon as their system detected my email the price went to $59.99 which make it $5/Month. Seriously? This awful company who managed to release their just 1 plugin after 5 years and not even capable of hiring someone is charging me $59.99 for 1 year?
Now they might come up with lame excuse like read our terms and conditions and bla bla bla. Dude you are selling a product. You must give users a sign on the pricing like other companies like a star (*) sign which identifies that terms and conditions applied. Or write this line in your sales box. NO there is nothing written about $60. This is hidden cost scam.

Then when I asked for a refund, they refused. Worst experience with a software app in years.

I have a Dashlane Premium Subscription that expires on June 8, 2019 and use Dashlane on my MAC desktop running software version 10.12.6. I use both Firefox and Chrome as my browsers. During the course of the last several months, I've had to restart my computer 4 times after upgrading other software programs. Following each restart, EACH and every time I attempt to connect to the Dashlane VPN, the Dashlane product states that I must "Buy Premium" and preventing me from connecting to the VPN for which I'm paying.
This situation has occurred on 4 separate occasions and the response from Dashlane (I'm still waiting for their 4th response) is that I am at fault and that I must uninstall Dashlane and reinstall Dashlane or take some action denying or granting access (whatever that means). I've asked why the company has not fixed this SNAFU to which either the customer service or tech support rep states that Dashlane is aware of the problem and working to fix it.
I ask, "How many years does it take to fix a known software problem?" Because of my experiences with Dashlane's VPN, I will not renew my subscription to this otherwise excellent password managing product. Dashlane has certainly strayed well outside their technical knowledge base and is offering a VPN service with their password product that the company knows is flawed when used on a MAC.

So my suggestion to other's experiencing problems with Dashlane is to hang in there. In the end the solution was not complicated and the instructions they sent me were easy to follow. I needed to remove the version of Dashlane that I downloaded from the Mac app store and install the newer version of Dashlane directly from their site.

Ditto all the comments on the opaque communication process. No phone no chat. They took my money. I paid last year (frankly don't remember that upfront commitment) but it was $150.00 for 5 years of Dashlane Premium. Last week I decided to upgrade to Premium Plus when I set up a new laptop. The advertising says 10.00 per month for Premium Plus. Well, they charged me 119.99 through iTunes even though I ordered it on the website while in my current account. I immediately tried to remove it but no way to do it.
When you go to iTunes subscriptions, where they send you, it only gives you the option to downgrade to Premium for 59.99 a year vs. 119.99 a year for Premium Plus. No ability to cancel. So these clowns have way more of my money than I want them to. If you have been through the email support you are alarmed at the lack of comprehension or ability to speak English and it takes days for them to respond. I'm tech savvy so I can force-quit it and relaunch but my less tech-savvy parents are always calling me that the app won't open (at which point rebooting is the easiest way to fix it). Honestly, I've had it with Dashlane. I'm not sure why but they refuse to fix it (or have incompetent desktop developers - try QAing the damn thing). I've switched over to LastPass (which has a totally free version that syncs across devices) and it seems to work fine.

I've been using LastPass for years... maybe 8 years now. I think. In any case LastPass worked for me despite its quirks. Then the 2015 hack of LastPass happened which gave me pause. Then they updated their front ends in 2017 which then caused all sorts of headaches. I had enough and started looking for another password manager.
I have been using Dashlane for the past month and it's been a breath of fresh air. Yes it doesn't work on all websites, (LastPass didn't either) but it's easy enough to pull up the app (on my OS X machine) and search for my password. Easier and faster than LastPass. On my Note 8, it doesn't work with the Samsung browser, but again, it's easy enough for me to swipe to the app, find my password, copy and swipe right back. Although I wish it integrated better with the Samsung browser, it works well enough. In any case I give this 4 stars as the product has worked well for me so far. I realize there is no phone number for customer support but that's fine. I don't like calling and wasting time being on hold anyway. Email support is preferred.

I've been inundated with so many constant changing passwords at this point that I was desperate to find one solution to help manage all of them. After reading the PC Magazine review I spent the $59.99 on August 5th, 2018 for 1 year of Dashlane Premium and while it would take a bit longer for my PC to load it was nice to see all of my passwords in one place. Being that we all have a ton of passwords I used a random password generator to come up with a Dashlane master password and didn't write it down because just like IT security 101 says - "Don't write down your passwords."
Come today I turn on my computer and Dashlane opens and tells me I'm forced to change my password without letting me log in first with the original password! No I don't remember my original master password that's THE WHOLE POINT OF A PASSWORD MANAGEMENT PROGRAM!!! If you don't remember your master password there is no recovery option. The only option is to uninstall which then wipes all of your Dashlane passwords meaning you have to start again from scratch!!! So let me get this straight... now I need to find a way to manage my passwords for a company that wants to manage my passwords??? Total garbage!

I've been using Dashlane for 3 years as a Premium user. It's always been 'quirky' and iOS always requires cut and paste despite repeated contact with support. My main usage is desktop. V6 release just made Dashlane desktop unusable. Entering a password automatically or manually can take 20-20 seconds. Opening Dashlane to find and open a password record can take up to 1 minute.
I reported to support on August 8. Had 'nice' reply 3 days later but basically said 're-install as new version will fix.' When that didn't work and reported straight back took 1 week for new response which said the same, i.e. reinstall new version. Told them that was no good and I wanted it elevated. It was elevated, to second level. That was 5 days ago. Black hole - no response. Even sent screen cams to show exactly the time delay - waste of time. If you really wanted to hack people off it is quite easy - just do what Dashlane support do - i.e. treat premium customers as if they weren't important.

I purchased Dashlane Premium a few weeks ago, and so far, it has been a nightmare. My purpose in purchasing was to improve security of my many logins, keep all login info in one secure location, and to be able to sync across my devices (laptops, phone, iPad). The software documentation claims to do all of that, and the PC Magazine reviews were solid, so I purchased a 3-year subscription for $99. Big mistake.
If you only used one device (not sure that applies to anyone these days), it wouldn't be so bad, but it does not work well across multiple devices. I eventually got the app installed everywhere, and the information is synced, but there are many operational issues. For instance, when you pull up a site that requires a login, Dashlane may or may not fill in the info. Since the passwords are made impossible to remember, you will need to access the Dashlane app, search for the particular account, enter the master password, and then copy and paste the account password into the site.
It really kills productivity/efficiency. On my laptops, I would guess that Dashlane fills in the password maybe 60-70% of the time, as long as you're not on a site that requires IE/MS Edge. Dashlane does not work with the Microsoft browser (that's a pretty big miss!). With the iPhone, Dashlane NEVER enters the password. That always requires the lookup and copy/paste. Very frustrating.
Another problem I've run into is the difficulty in changing passwords within the app. Sounds crazy, I know. Changing a password in a password manager ought to be the easiest thing to do, but it isn't. Here's the scenario - my banking app now logs me out and disables touch ID since installing Dashlane, so I have to go through the lookup, copy, and paste routine to get into my banking app on my phone. Then, it asks me for other identifying info and requires that I change my password (you'll be changing passwords more often than you change your socks once you download this software!).
I go to the Dashlane app and look for an option to generate a new password. No such option exists! There is a "password changer" button, but it only works with a few sites. How do you change passwords on other sites? The only way I've found is to manually change the password on the site to something not secure, and save that to Dashlane, which then will usually note that it's weak and recommend generating a new one. It works, but very cumbersome and time-consuming!
Dashlane also advertises the ability to store payment info securely and automatically fill in websites when making purchases. I've only tried this once, and it did not work. I now have a Dilemma - I'm not sure whether I can cancel and get a refund, as Dashlane has essentially no customer support, even if I do cancel it, the nightmare will continue, as I have 100+ system-generated passwords out there and will need to document them all somewhere. My advice - do not purchase this software! Save yourself from hours of headaches.

All of a sudden this week - apparently after the introduction of a new version (V.6 update) - my 100% safe storage of some 90 passwords became an apparent cesspool of some 60 "compromised" passwords. Bad as that may be, what's even more upsetting is that even with my premium (i.e. PAID) status, supposedly providing extra customer service, I cannot get help. There is only email contact, and while my message received a machine acknowledgment, no contact was made. There is no phone support and a supposed chat widget is nowhere to be found. It's a shame to do this to a service that was commendable... until now.

I used Dashlane for the last 10 months with a Dashlane Premium account across my phone and 2 computers, one of which was my work laptop. My work laptop, I will admit, is behind when it comes to versions of OS X and could use an update. However, that is out of my control and it isn't THAT far behind. I loved Dashlane until recently a new update to Dashlane dropped support for the version of OS X I had on my work laptop.
Here's my problem with that. For the last 10 months Dashlane has been storing my passwords and personal data, and even generating the passwords for me. It was great, but now 1 day they've just decided to limit my access to that data on one machine. I paid for a year of Dashlane Premium, but can no longer take advantage of it as I did. The issue here is that I paid for a year of subscription and Dashlane has not held up to supporting my machine for that year. The second and more important issue is that Dashlane has collected my data and then restricted my access to that data. This is completely unfair. A company like Dashlane should be built on a reputation of trust and they clearly broke that trust here.
I contacted support to see if there was a way I could get an older version of the extension and obviously they wanted no part in that and wanted everyone on the new version. I asked for a refund on my last 2 months of Premium as I could no longer sync across all my devices and would like to go to a competing service. I got nowhere with support. After 3 days of talks with support I got escalated to Tier 2 support. After 2 weeks (!!!) I finally got a response that just repeated that the refund period was 30 days. Again, I can't give my personal data to a company with a support team that is so unresponsive.
It's not about the $17 I would like back, it's about the integrity of Dashlane. Any company that asks to hold personal data of any kind should be held to a high standard. They are setting a high bar. Dashlane can keep my $17, it's a small price to pay to find out this company isn't trustworthy, I'm glad I found out now and my data is safe, and I can remove and move it before an actual issue occurs and I need to rely on Dashlane for anything.

I want syncing between my phone and laptop and PC, isn't that what they promise?
Why does Dashlane ask if I want to save a password when it just signed me in? Why, when I delete a password on Dashlane in order to get a clean slate and start over, does it remember my old password and interfere in my process? Why does Dashlane not work at all on some sites? Why do I have to copy my own password from Dashlane in order to log into a site? Why do I find multiple listings of the same site in Dashlane on so many different sites? I am getting rid of this program as soon as possible. I used to like it, but the longer I have it the more I dislike it because the performance has deteriorated over time. :(

App logs you out of all your accounts. As the major ones have two factor authentication enabled, using Dashlane will force you to use it every time. That means having to take out my mobile and load up the app and enter the new code. This is a real annoyance. I'm happy for my browser to remember once and not have to re-log in every single time. Sure, I know it's secure, but the point of a password manager is to make things quicker and more convenient, right? As everything important already had an extra layer of protection, I don't feel Dashlane adds anything useful at all.

Not sure why a lot of 1 stars are throwing such things around, however they must have some sort of problems I cannot figure out from here. I also did take the ratings Dashlane had and still has, since then the product has exceeded some expectations. I thought it might slightly disappoint, but it has worked perfectly and I had to use support once. Support was no hassle and quick. The only issue I have and this may be for all PW management software is using logins for web hosts that use WordPress.
Logins are many and the PW manager may not know the exact time to throw a login since the links are different when one changes any PWs. Dashlane allows me to edit them all to keep them organized, however, due to the nature of sites out there and how they all do PW changes differently by link/screens, this is the only issue, and it rarely causes any real problem. No issues here, sorry to see others do, the ratings I saw DO hold up. I use W10 and it also works on my Samsung S7 Edge. Syncing works, but sometimes the PW manager does not trigger, again, probably due to links being different on specific functions. I suggest Dashlane could upgrade the design to work beyond just hyperlinks to trigger or allow multiple links per login.

I bought Dashlane because of the stellar reviews by PC Magazine. Then discovered with the first failing of the product that support was unsatisfactory as it was difficult to use and the cut and paste capabilities which I had to figure out for myself were horrible to get the application to work. I tried using other password managers but there was no way to efficiently transfer the larger number of passwords I had to move over. Finally when after months of research I located a product which met my expectations fully. I researched not only the operation of that product but how the service product has been reported on the internet. I checked for ripoff reports and found favorable reviews from the user community.
The user community for the Dashlane product regarding service and use is horrible. Dashlane rates in the low 2.5 stars. There are numerous complaints about the failure rates of Dashlane and I'm just another user in that group. It's not just the lack of support, it's the failure of Dashlane to work consistently as a web extension (it stopped working on and off on a daily basis). I had to open up the extension and copy the user ID and Password into the fields and click on the login button manually. Dashlane had stopped working autofill and support was non-existent. I gave up on trying to find a solution other than looking for another product. On the phone app, I have to copy and paste the PW into the app, because there is no process for 2FA and fingerprint entry in your app. In short, the Dashlane for the price lacks the technology I required. And there have been hacks and compromised passwords too.
For so many reasons I felt Dashlane was inadequate and presented a cybersecurity risk as a password manager was more of a risk than an aid and the cost was outrageous. I didn't get any value for it and I felt I got ripped off. When I asked for a refund the company refused. As a Cybersecurity Coach and Cybersecurity Professional, I highly advise against using Dashlane PW Manager. In fact, any PW manager doesn't fully protect anyone from a cyber threat. It is recommended that any PW manager that is selected be fully researched by a competent cybersecurity consultant, or at least research the reviews other than PC Magazine. Look at the forums and complaints on consumer boards like this for both high and low reviews. All anyone needs to do is to enter a search for reviews on the topic you are looking for information including ripoff reports". Be careful.

New versions and updates have left me stranded and without a way to access my passwords. Not realizing my paid year was coming to an end, Dashlane literally held my passwords hostage and forced me to pay another $40 ($80 in total for 2 years) in order to get them out of Dashlane and safely into another app. Dashlane customer support is a complete joke that will leave you literally hanging, waiting for a response.
Then guess what? No response ever comes. With so many customers always complaining they installed a new email you can write to. VIP@Dashlane.com. Guess what sort of response you get from them? NONE. The regular customer support sends out autoresponders. Numerous submittals to the email provided to paid members for customer service, Response he VIP sends out nothing ---- at all. No confirmation. I have used password managers in the past and would never use one that saved any information of mine in the 'Cloud'. That being said, I have noticed that the default installation method for several other programs, one of them being some sort of tool or update from Intel (?), stealthily installed Dashlane by default. When I found Dashlane on my computer, I immediately used a heavy duty program (IObit Uninstaller) to remove any trace of Dashlane from my system.
IMHO, any company that wants to, needs to, or does try to surreptitiously install its software during the installation of some software (application, driver, utility, etc.) that has nothing to do with the program being stealthily installed is NOT to be trusted. There are a lot of good password managers available which are recommended or written by some of the top, very well-known security experts in the industry, and several are free and/or OpenSource. One of those is what I would choose to use for password management.

In Nov of 2017, Dashlane did an upgrade on their product (Password Manager). I downloaded and used the free version. I adored the options and extra areas where I could make notations and refer back when needed. I pride myself on keeping my clientele information secure, but after an upgrade, the password to login booted me out. After contacting their so-called CS, John and Gabrielle made me jump through hoops like a trained circus dog, and after almost 3 months and multiple logs and "Try this" or "do this" I am fed up with this product. I won't refer, nor will I continue to use this should they fix it.
Meanwhile, I have lost over 15 years of accumulated information that I can not retrieve, despite their "external backup" option on their Premium account. After a year of using this product, I am livid and hope others avoid this massive loss should they consider it. Dashlane, you are a hideous disappointment and until you get your act together, I can't even think that you deserve one star. I have never dealt with such ignorance and lack of "care" from a company for a client than this mess.

Two experiences - First, I have complained to the company for nearly three months that their password extension for iOS was no longer working - the extension would open and abruptly close. After numerous emails, initial support said that they were referring the issue to second level support. After nearly three weeks, I have had no contact with second level support. On November 14th, I contacted Dashlane again via their Facebook page. I explained the situation yet again - response was that they would escalate the issue to second level support - I still have not had any contact from this phantom second level support.
Second Issue is a very serious software issue - (using Windows 10) - Why is Dashlane changing what I enter? For some reason your programmers have decided that a "" translates to ">" I first saw this in the title of a note that I created in 1Password which in turn was copied to LastPass (correctly) and subsequently transferred to Dashlane (mutilated as shown). I changed the note title and didn't give it another thought. This morning I attempted to log into a website and received a message that my password was incorrect. I looked at the password in Dashlane and compared it to what was in 1Password - this is what I saw - 1Password: kYNh - Dashlane: kYN>h. I expected that I would be able to copy the correct password into Dashlane and all would be alright. After copying the password, I once again attempted to log into the website and again I received the message that my password was incorrect.
I reviewed the password in Dashlane and discovered that the password was once again mutilated. This is a situation that is completely unacceptable and completely inexcusable. How did a glaring error such as this ever make it past your programmers. I have reported other issues that remain unresolved with absolutely no contact from support, but this issue needs to be rectified immediately. This makes your software totally unreliable and totally unusable. Despite the very serious nature of this issue, I have not received a single contact from Dashlane support other than an automated response that support would be in contact with me. Bottom line - Dashlane support is virtually nonexistence. This is a company that the warning "Buyer Beware" is definitely appropriate.

Next I paid for a Premium membership for "faster" customer service. A joke. So I've been pretty patient. Sometimes, on some websites, it works great! Up until maybe 3 months ago, it seemed to be getting better. But now it is definitely hit or miss. It is often saving different passwords for the same site - compare the one in the password history to the one you can see when you 'edit item'. Their support team seems to be doing their best - pretty fast responses - but it is frustrating and definitely slows the process to not be able speak to a support person. Much of the time the support response advises one to reinstall Dashlane. I'm about ready to walk away from it.

Dashlane was squirly to work with at first, but I got used to it. Now it's a royal pain in the ** and has completely stopped working. The company pushed a SW update a couple of weeks ago and it broke the application. Whatever they did has broken the password manager's ability to autofill and pull up the password's information. I've tried to troubleshoot it every way I could including an uninstall and reinstall. The only thing I can do now is uninstalled it and call it quits. Cut my losses and never look back. This is what I call a bad break up. Don't ever use this product as you'll be sorely disappointed with the absence of customer support from this company. I think they run on autopilot and I have no idea why or how they are getting the high marks from PC magazine because they suck!
I suggest reviewing and testing or looking for qualified reviews of other password managers before jumping to another one. Also when you quit Dashlane, make sure you export your password list to a CVS file and clean it up first by reviewing the list because the fields don't necessarily transfer the data completely. After you clean up all the fields so they match what you see in the Dashlane Application save an additional comma delimited file to another name so you can use that to import into the new password manager.
Also, try to locate a company that has a reputation for good technical support, if they don't then walk away. It's not worth your time and money to pay for a company that doesn't offer decent customer support that will reliably contact you when a technical issue presents. Dashlane has not answered that call and price point isn't worth keeping them as a product. For that reason I'm out.

Software does not do what it says it can do. Insecure desktop display of sensitive data. Dashlane forces a screen display on startup which shows sensitive data including credit card information and passwords associated with various websites. Assigns the wrong email to passwords, consistently. Attempts to autofill any field on the screen. Most problematic when viewing data forms containing my own clients' data. Every time any form appears on any screen, Dashlane tries to replace what's already there with my own data. It can't be "taught" not to do this. A single miskey and I've obliterated the existing form data, which when it occurred, was not recoverable.
Dashlane interrupts all logins and use of all forms with obtrusive popups, while also auto defaulting to and prominently displaying incorrect information. Obtrusive popup offering incorrect data has to be clicked out of the way over and over and over again. Dashlane is unable to differentiate between logins; if on Google1 page, it still tries to use Google2 id and this cannot be corrected. Saved credit card information in Dashlane can't be used to make any purchases because Dashlane's automatic input into purchase fields occurs incorrectly. So, the credit card transaction has to be input manually anyway. It has not ever performed this service correctly for me.
Warning to others: Dashlane states cancellation information in its Terms of Service, but the page offered to cancel leads to a Page Not Found. Slow, irrelevant support. 7 Days to respond to my concern about insecure data. Their final instructions were to utilize a feature of their software that does not exist! Dashlane has refused to refund. Features of the program and its interface are not intuitive, so using Dashlane is confusing. While prominently displaying insecure data on Desktop, Dashlane simultaneously forces re log-in at each restart and update/shut down. Thus, even though I am not logged out, and my information is insecurely, Dashlane has another obtrusive popup.

Works good most of the time and is very useful for randomizing passwords. Also works on multiple devices (PC and Android) which is nice. However, the auto-login (especially on Android and Firefox) is inconsistent. Sometimes it works and logs you in no problem. Other times you have to specifically press the Dashlane icon or, worse, open up the software and copy/paste or read/type your password in. Some Android apps (Morgan Stanley) it doesn't work at all. I've also had it recognize an app with the wrong identity and tries to enter a password for somewhere else. I'd say it works perfectly about 75% of the time.

I use multiple browsers, iPhone, and three things I don't like about Dashlane. It will save you time, but it's not as streamline as you think. I use just about every browser under the sun, and I have trouble, especially with Firefox when using Dashlane to autofill passwords, I end up opening the app, and having to copy and paste the passwords about 3 to 5 times a day. I'm probably using Dashlane 20 times a day. So that's a 75% effective rate. I was having less trouble using the browsers password manager than I was Dashlane, but I paid for 5 years, thinking I was getting a great deal, until I realized Dashlane still has a long way to go. The fill is so annoying. I will disable it on a website (easy to do) then find a week later I'm disabling it again. Or I'll disable it on one device/computer, just to find that it didn't sync the setting to another. I don't like the Dashlane autofill one bit. I hardly need it, but it's there in the background of every website.
Auto create passwords - It does a poor job managing duplicate usernames, with the same password. I've also had it create a password, just to have it not let me set a new username I had created (GMail in this instance). This made me have to reset the password again, and now I'm hesitant to use the autocreate, because I never know if it's going to capture the username, or force me to replace an existing (not relevant one) and cause more problems. Also the autocreate password doesn't use symbols, so in those instances of creating a password, I have to create my own password.
Overall, Dashlane takes the headache of managing passwords, into a less painful backache that manifests itself 1 of 4 times you use it to sign in, or capture a username and password. I think I was better off using a web browser. I just need to figure out the best way to go back, and cut my losses for the 5 years I purchased their password medication.

Dashlane is to sum it up a frustrating experience. As others have said their servers go down, it quits working... The only way to figure out what your password is if that happens is to go to your PC and look on your Dashlane app and copy paste it into the password field, or hand type it in for sites that don't allow copy/paste. It also doesn't work with Chrome OS, so if you have a Chromebook, you will have to create a different Google account for your Chromebook - otherwise Dashlane makes the Chromebook not work well. You can't have it turned off on a Chrome browser on one computer and on in another browser - the extension is either on for all computers you sign into with that Google account or completely off (removed) for that Google account.
The only place Dashlane works reasonably well is the Android phone environment with a fingerprint as a second verification. However, it seems like Dashlane always wants your 16 digit password at really inconvenient times - i.e. not when you are somewhere where you have your Dashlane password handy, and then you can't sign into anything on your phone either. So - basically you are just out of luck at random times. Hello - my fingerprint should be the Dashlane password - really do they think someone is going to cut off my finger to get my passwords. Super annoying.
The auto enter feature is super annoying - you think it will be handy when Dashlane auto logs you into the site you go to, right? Well for the places it works for it is handy. For some websites that don't allow auto log ins, it's a nightmare. So you think just turning off Dashlane for that password will work - wrong - you turn off auto enter, but it still does it. It enters the password in continuously so many times in a few seconds that you get locked out of your account. Even if you DELETE that website out of Dashlane - it STILL enters the dang password until you get locked out every time you go to that website. The only way to stop it is to delete the Dashlane extension from your web browser.
Additionally, it just randomly quits working sometimes, and the only way to get it to start working again is to restart the computer. When you contact customer service about something like it not working with Chrome OS, they give you some story about it not being compatible, but never give any data about if it ever will be... But then keep hounding you with emails about did this solve your problem - hell no it didn't - must be computer generated because nobody can be that stupid. In summary, I'm glad I only paid for 1 year because I'm certainly never renewing or giving them any more of my money.

If you're not using a password manager, and you connect to the Internet, you're doing it wrong. You need strong passwords, and you cannot use the same password on multiple sites (well, you can, but it would be a bad idea). With a password manager, you can store all your passwords in an encrypted format, and all you need to do is remember a single, strong password. I've tried many of the top-rated password managers, but my favorite of all of these is Dashlane (http://www.dashlane.com). Its user interface is clear and attractive and is easy to work with, even for beginners. (I can attest that non-technical family members have had no problem using Dashlane, and that's a strong recommendation--other password managers we tried did not fare as well). I love using Dashlane and have it installed on all my computers and devices.
Dashlane includes all the features you could want in a password manager, including the basic storage of encrypted passwords, synchronizing between devices, form filling, sharing of passwords (other competitors don't handle this nearly as well, and it's a great feature), automatic password changes (another feature competitors don't handle as well; it's simple using Dashlane to modify passwords on a large number of sites without any effort at all), secure notes, and much, much more. I tell lots of friends about Dashlane and try to convince everyone that they both need a password manager, and need Dashlane. The other two top-rated password managers are excellent, as is Dashlane: I just happen to like Dashlane's set of features and user interface better. If you don't have a password manager, you need one, and Dashlane is a good choice; if you do have one and you're not using Dashlane, you owe it to yourself to check it out.

It was a bit glitchy (auto login worked about 50% of the time, the wallet feature allowed for adding credit cards but not other wallet items (membership cards etc), the password change feature seemed like it could be pretty useful.
So I decided to try the premium service for a year and see how it grew on me. Through my iphone app, I "upgraded" to premium. This cost me 39.99 for 1 year. I was charged on my itunes account, and assumed I had premium features. But I noticed that I still was not syncing across devices, and it wasn't working as smoothly for me as it did for my friend. I looked several weeks later, and it still had me as a free account, telling me to upgrade to premium to enjoy all the awesome features of the dashlane elite.
I double checked on my itunes account, sure enough they charged me 39.99 and I had a "subscription" to dashlane premium until October of 2016. Honest mistake right? Easily correctable surely for a tech company? I repeatedly asked for someone to call me to straighten this out. No one did. After providing them with lots of documentation from Apple of my purchase, I finally gave up and asked for a refund when they said they wouldn't accept a forwarded invoice from Apple but instead wanted a screen shot of said invoice.
