Had State Farm for 32 years on 8 vehicles and house. They suddenly informed me that they were dropping 4 of my 8 vehicles, but continuing with the other 4 and my house. Pretty disloyal after such a long time with them. I dropped ALL insurance with them and found another insurance company - happy to insure everything (at a cost savings). State Farm doesn't recognize customer loyalty. They are slow to return calls when I pursued this.

State Farm is the slimiest insurance company I have dealt with. One of their insured hit me and state farm failed to identify the car as totaled upon the first estimate so I took my car to a body shop for repairs. Upon tear down more damage was found, state farm then deemed my vehicle a total loss but refused to pay for nearly half of the body shop charges because they found them "not necessary" even though their estimator failed to identify all of the damage, so the body shop had no choice but to begin work on the car to repair the damage, upon doing so finding the additional damage. When I spoke with a state farm supervisor, he wouldn't give me any reason as to why they refused the charges beyond "believing them to be unreasonable."

Not only were they completely unhelpful and left me to pay nearly $700 to the body shop for damages THEIR insured caused, but the supervisor was completely rude, impatient, and condescending. So, I guess if you're insured by state farm, you don't have to worry about them being evil and unfair. If you are the unfortunate one who is involved in an accident with someone insured by state farm (EVEN WHEN IT IS THEIR FAULT) beware, they will do everything they can to screw you over and avoid paying for anything.

After 30 years with State and 10 policies, I had a small accident in a parking lot. Backed into another car, both backing out at the same time - met in the middle. Told adjuster it was a 50/50 accident, gave State Farm statements, they agreed on 4 occasions. After a week they called, said I was at fault. The other party had an independent witness got a phone statement from her. Concluded I was 100% at fault. I had a witness, they refused to use my witness. Needless to say I am getting legal advice and a new insurance co.

On July 28, 2014 I and three others was involved in a accident it was my son's car but however another vehicle hit us and just drove off, but State Farm didn't even call any of us to see how we were doing and during the course of this I know I talked to maybe 5 or 6 different people. This has been the most unprofessional Insurance company that I have ever dealt with...we got something call pip but when it came to our pain and suffering she told us that she couldn't compensate for our pain and suffering because we went to the hospital two days later and that the damage done to the car was only around $700.00 but that don't have anything to do with my pain and suffering.

Liberty Mutual insured driver rear ended my State Farm insured car, totaling it. I subrogated the claim to State Farm, who will not pay me my deductible (LM has accepted liability) until they sell my car or auction it off, which can take months. They are holding on to an interest free loan basically, till they get around to processing the claim. I have had too many incompetent lazy customer service dolts hell bent on telling me what they can do and not doing anything.

On 9/4/14 I was rear ended by a state farm client which totaled my car and caused injuries to my boyfriend and I. We had to go to the hospital and have been having to go to the chiropractor for our pain. We have called state farm numerous times about a rent a car and compensation for our lost vehicle but the lady Katherine ** is always very brief, rude and sarcastic. She says she has not contacted her client so she can't do anything for us and it's been almost two weeks. I have a lawyer for my injuries. Now I want a lawyer for my car because this is stressful and ridiculous. I have a two month old preemie that requires extra doctor visits and I also have a 3 and 7year old. My boyfriend just had to take a job out of town just to keep us from losing everything because now we are struggling big time. State farm has no heart and I would never want to work for such a hateful company or be a client. I'm praying to God we get the help we need, the police report clearly states the sf client was in the wrong so what's the hold up? That was my only car!!:(

My son was involved in an accident when a state farm customer turned left in front of him at an intersection. My car and the customer's car both were total losses and the police report indicated that the state farm customer was at fault. When I first contacted state farm, it was 4 days after the incident and of course the other driver hadn't contacted state farm. I started the process of recovering my losses and with one exception all customer service reps have done nothing but try to strong arm me.

My car has been taken to an impound lot approximately 100+ miles from my home without my permission. They absolutely refuse to talk about paying enough to replace the car and they have been in general just rude. I will never suggest that anybody take state farm insurance because how your service providers act is a reflection upon the person that owns the policy.

If you ever get hit by a state farm policyholder pray you do not have Robert ** as an agent. I had a simple accident where the state farm policyholder rear-ended me and I didn't think I needed a lawyer but now I wish I would have taken the lawyer route. They are not trying to pay me and every time I get in contact with them, they say I still need to provide a certain piece of paperwork. And every time I thought I gave them everything they needed they would need something else. It has been almost 2 months and they are still giving me the runaround. This accident has affected my paycheck and eventually affected me paying bills on time. I know this type of thing takes time to be resolved but I feel like Robert ** purposely took his time because I expressed how I felt about how long this process was taking and I don't think he liked my tone. It's Sept 10 and I'm still waiting. I hate State farm. I've been in 4 accidents and by far State farm is the worst company I've dealt with.

Here's my experience with State Farm: I was looking to change auto insurance providers in order to save money. I quoted several companies online, and State Farm came up as cheapest, for the same amount of coverage. I decided to purchase the policy online, and my credit card was charged. A couple weeks later, I received a bill from State Farm saying I owed an additional $255 for my six-month policy. This was $255 higher than I was quoted and agreed to, and was about $200 more than I was paying with my previous provider.

I notified my agent, and they refused to honor my original quote, so I asked to have my policy canceled. They told me it would be pro-rated for the time I had the policy, which is fine. However, I had the policy for less than one month, and they are only refunding me about 2/3 of what I paid, essentially telling me I owe $120 for less than one month of coverage. That is absolutely ridiculous. The people I dealt with were responsive and helpful, but that is it. Everything else about State Farm has been shady and unethical. I would not recommend them, and they will never get my business again.

I feel it is imperative that I inform the consumer in the hopes that they can avoid the same issue. We contacted the local office for State Farm (State Farm Insurance, 203 N. Broome St., Suite C, Waxhaw, NC 28173). I discussed with ** (office manager) our insurance needs and we were on the phone for some time summing up the details....how many drivers, ages, driving record, cars, etc. She quoted me a 6 month rate of $955.60. I accepted it and submitted a binder of $250.18. Please note that only $159.27 went to auto. The remaining balance went to my homeowners policy. This dispute is not with the homeowners policy. The binder was paid on July 16, 2014 and the auto policy was to go into effect on 12:01 AM, July 20th.

Fifteen days later, I received a letter from some review agency that works for State Farm saying my coverage and my quote would not be honored. In fact the letter lacked even the least bit of etiquette. I never received a letter like this in my life and I have been driving for over 40 years. I showed it to my wife and she about panic because as a lay person it seemed to indicate we had no insurance and they weren't honoring any coverage. We went into panic mode and called ** the next day and told her what we received. She was even surprised by the letter. Let me insert something here.

The letter indicated that if I want a full report on the review I would have to pay $100.00 for it, but it did indicate that the reason was because my daughter and my son had not been driving for 5 years. That is actually incorrect. My daughter has been driving for 6 years (no accidents, tickets) and my son yes, was only driving for 4 (no accidents, tickets). ** knew this when we were working up the quote. When I called her the next day about the letter I asked her "did I not supply you with this information when we discussed this" and she said "yes, you did?" She also added "I plugged that information into the computer and came up with the rate I quoted you. I don't know why they changed it." Now here is where it gets interesting. I asked her what does this mean, am I driving with no coverage.

She advised me I am covered, but I will have to pay $160.00 more and my son will be dropped down to a Tier II level with reduced coverage. It also affected my homeowners coverage because now I had a $2500 deductible instead of $1000. She tried to explain that, but it made no sense to me. I told ** this is not acceptable and please cancel my insurance effective that midnight. This would have taken effect on Aug. 6th. Therefore, I had 17 days of coverage. I asked her would I be prorated and get a refund for the difference I wasn't covered for and she said "yes". I waited and waited, and waited for a check to come in the mail. I did the math and I should have received a check for approximately $70.00. When I didn't receive one, I called ** again and she advised me that I was short charged and would not receive a refund. I didn't even know what "short charge" meant since she never advised me of this when I cancelled and I asked her where does it say that? She told me to read my policy.

I told her I never got one. Which I never did and she was surprised by that. I was never informed of this verbally or in writing. I asked her for literature that shows this. I came to the office and she printed it out. It's in the "A Consumer's Guide to Automobile Insurance" from your NC Department of Insurance. Now here is my dispute, on page 15 it states, "Pro-Rata Cancellation...this type of calculation is used when the company cancels your policy. It will generate your refund, without any penalty for canceling during the policy period". "Short Rate Cancellation...this type of cancellation may be used when the policy is cancelled by you or by a premium finance company. It will generate your refund minus a penalty for canceling during the policy period. The penalty amount varies according to the total premium and the amount of time left in the policy period". State Farm cancelled my policy, I didn't.

By not honoring what their representative in Waxhaw quoted which was accurate and complete meant they cancelled the policy. Let me ask you something, if this was you and you had called back and ** told you it was going to cost $1000.00 more to be insured with State Farm, would you do it? This was nothing short of extortion. I cannot say with any certainty if this was a mistake by ** State Farm Insurance or just an indiscriminate policy that State Farm decided to apply, but I want to forewarn others of this potential pitfall and make an informed decision on where and who should supply your next insurance needs. By the way, I did secure auto insurance with Geico and now have better coverage then my original quote and $100.00 cheaper.

State Farm uses an automatic renewal system for their policy holders. When it is time for a new policy, they automatically mail out the terms of the new policy and start taking the allotted payments according to the new policy. State Farm does not have any process in place for finding out if customers accept the new policy; the expectation is that if the customer is not satisfied with the new policy, it is up to the customer to contact State Farm. State Farm renewed my policy recently. Due to speeding tickets that I had received, the new policy increased by about $43. per month. My previous monthly payment was about $89 per month and the new monthly payment would then be $133 per month. I received this notice on Friday 8/22/14 via mail.

Tony ** states that this was mailed from his office on 8/4/14. On Friday 8/22/14, I called Tony ** State Farm office. The office was closed and I spoke to a customer service rep at their call center. I told the rep that I had no interest in enrolling in the new policy. The rep told me that they had already processed the automatic payment and from his office, they could not reverse it. The rep said that Tony ** office may be able to do more and to call them back on Monday. I called on Monday 8/25/14 but again it was after business hours. I again spoke to a rep and was told that they could not reverse the payment and that I should contact the local office to cancel the policy. They informed me at that time that my new policy did not start until 8/27/14.

On Tuesday 8/26/14, I went in and spoke to my bank. I paid my bank $19 to ENSURE that the payment would be denied and returned to State Farm unpaid. The bank manager (Jada) suggested that even though I had told their after-hours customer service rep that I wanted to cancel to still call and let the main office know and specifically use the words that they have no authorization to access my bank account. On Wednesday 8/27/14, I called the main office during business hours and spoke to Chanel. I told her that I had no interest in the new policy they had sent me, I had made sure that my bank was going to deny the payment they put through, told her that they no longer had authorization to access my account and that I would call them if I needed any further services. Chanel assured me that it was all taken care of and told me that my account with State Farm had been closed.

On Tuesday 9/2/14, State Farm ran the payment transaction through my bank account again. I called the main office and spoke to Chanel again who said that she remembered talking with me, remembered closing my account and would call their payment office and find out what was going on and call me back. Chanel did call back and then informed me that the payment office had every right to run my card because my initial bill was due on 8/22/14. Chanel suggested that maybe it just automatically runs again and that its basically the same transaction. I told Chanel that I had paid to make sure that the initial transaction would not be paid and that this was a new transaction that was presented to my bank on 9/2/14, after she had closed my account. She said that there was nothing they could do.

I requested to speak to Tony ** and she said that she would have him call me. I called my bank and explained the situation and my bank informed me that could be considered fraud if I had told them not to access my bank account any longer, so I filed the complaint with the fraud department. Tony ** did return my call and left a voice mail and on Wednesday 9/3/14 I called him back and spoke to him. After I explained the situation to Tony, he informed me that his office had no control over what his payment office does. I confirmed with him that I had not received any services from his office. He confirmed that the payment that was due on 8/22/14 was for services that would occur from 8/27/14 through 9/27/14 and he confirmed that their direct office acknowledged that all services were cancelled on 8/27/14 when I spoke to Chanel.

So at this point, I have not received any services in exchange for the money that State Farm fraudulently accessed on 9/2/14. He did ask if I wanted him to help me resolve this. I asked him how it could be resolved. He said that he could have his payment office return the payment to my bank. I asked him how he could do that when he had already told me that he couldn't control what the payment office did. He said that when it came to returning the money, he could have them do that. He asked if that would help and what my banks fraud process was. I told him that I had no idea how it worked. I've had this bank account for 10 years and had never filed anything like this and that I had no idea if them returning the transaction would help at that point because of the fees I had incurred from them running it again. He told me to find out and then call him back and let him know. I told him that I probably wouldn't be able to call until the next day. I spoke to the bank that they said that if State Farm returned the money, it may expedite the fraud investigation.

The bank said that at that point they would probably also return the overdraft fees on their own. I called Tony and he was unavailable. I explained the situation to Chanel and told her that Tony had wanted to know if he should have the payment office return the payment and that he just wanted a yes or a no answer from me and that the answer was yes. Chanel said that she would get that message to him. A couple of hours later, Chanel called me and asked me if I could send her a bank statement that showed that State Farm had charged my account a second time. I told her that I don't do online banking and therefore wouldn't get a statement until the end of the month. Chanel asked me to download an app on my phone, take a screen shot of the charge and email that to her. I told her again that I didn't do online banking and would not be downloading a banking app on my phone.

I told her that the fraud department at my bank should be in touch with them and that they could verify that State Farm did indeed access my account on 9/2/14. None of this would even be going on if they hadn't, why do I have to verify that they accessed my account? I received a voicemail from Tony ** a bit later stating that the comment that I made to Chanel sounded like I was giving up and he didn't want me to do that. He also said that charging State Farm with fraud, that's not going to do anything. He also said the only chance that you have to get the bank to do this would be to do what we talked about before he also said were not trying to get any overdraft fees paid by State Farm, were trying to get a refund and that's it. During this voice mail he also explains that what Chanel was actually asking for earlier was something that shows that State Farm indeed HAS the money. This is starting to seem ridiculous. State Farm should be able to verify if they have actually received the money.

Even if I went to my bank to show that there is a transaction there that says -$133, putting me in the negative it still wouldn't show whether or not State Farm has actually received the funds. I'm sure that my statement does currently show that State Farm WAS paid the money, that's why I'm negative but that doesn't mean that the bank is actually going to release the funds at this point. I filed the complaint with the fraud department the same day they even tried to complete the transaction so the bank may very well not pay it for all I know at this point. There is still the question of what it has cost me with them even accessing an account that they were specifically notified they had NO AUTHORIZATION to access a week before all this occurred! I find that this is not good business practices on State Farms part.

I understand having to pay the first $19 to have the initial payment declined due to the fact that they had sent the payment to my bank that very day. That's why I paid it and didn't complain and just followed through to make sure that my account was indeed closed with State Farm as I have no interest in engaging in the new automatic policy they prepared for me. If there was something more that I needed to do to make sure that my account with them was indeed closed, I would have done it. And the payment they continue to process is for a service that has never even been rendered! They closed my account on the 27th so no services whatsoever were rendered to me, yet they ran the payment a week after agreeing to close my account and no longer provide me with any services! And their stand point is that they have a right to do this and that if I want it fixed, I have to fix it through their office and that my bank isn't allowed to investigate their office for fraud. They're accessing customers bank accounts on CLOSED files and taking payments for a service that will never be rendered. This is indeed fraudulent and deceptive. I need someone help with this.

It took them eight days to send someone over to look at the basement (a contractor). Meanwhile, my wife and I took out all the flooring and cut and dispose of the affected drywall and insulation. All our furniture in basement was lost.

After two weeks, insurance adjuster came and spends two hours collecting information in the basement. Almost a month later, they call us to get a third party evaluation of our personal belonging lost in the flood which is still in the basement covered in mold and sewer water. Today adjuster called to tell me that it might take few more weeks to process the claim. Meanwhile, all my neighbors which had insurance with different insurance companies have been paid and finished fixing their basement. On July 8, 2014, I was hit by another driver that didn't yield his left turn and hit me. I was immediately taken to the hospital with head injuries and other injuries. An ambulance took me so I was unable to tell my side of the story. The police report had a lot of blanks which wasn't helpful. My claim number is **. The driver did not have his driver's license on him, and he is also insured by State Farm. My car was totaled. His car had minor damage and was able to be driven. He moved his vehicle immediately after the wreck so make it appear that it wasn't his fault.

I spoke with State Farm and they were more interested in the other driver's side of the story than mine. They never once asked me for my pictures from the wreck. The representatives were unaware of what was going on. I had to repeat myself constantly. I had to call three times to get my totaled car off the policy. Each time they assured me it was taken care of. I had to call often to find out updates and they would promise to return my call, but never did. On July 27, I was admitted to the hospital with blood clots in my lungs. The doctors determined this was due to my wreck. I stayed in the hospital until August 5. I wasn't released to go back to work until August 16. So I had no income from July 8 through August 16.

The police were not thorough at the wreck site and never determined who caused the wreck. Although any person with half a brain could determine who caused the wreck, and that was the other driver. The other driver was also insured by State Farm. Ultimately State Farm sided with the other driver because he had no injuries and the damage to his car was minor. They didn't want to be responsible for my medical costs and lost wages.

We had an accident. Both owners were with SF - one at fault and the other the victim. The victim had to prove he was not on a cell phone and the other did not. SF would not release that information. Even with 2 witnesses, he had to prove he was not on the phone. The person at fault said that our son was on the phone. WE were told our son was not at fault and the driver of the other car was determined at fault and refused to release if they got his cell phone records. Refused to diminish the value a classic auto, the Mustang Stage1 Roush signed by Roush, other than a plain Jane Mustang, not even as a GT Mustang or a Roush that they were told it was... I have had SF ins. for 25 + years. I have homeowners, Life, Auto and other insurance with them. Probably not for long. We reported the accident. Our State Farm agent accident person was told to let the person who was at fault to do the claim. They did not follow that instructions. It went thru our insurance. State Farm has totaled My Ford 150 and are being ridiculous with the settlement offer for the truck. I had $2400.00 in options on the truck and according to State Farm, that does not matter. However, it sure did to Ford when I had to pay for them. Also, I bought my truck December 31st, 2013 and this is August of 2014 which means, I have had my truck less than 8 months with only 12,000 miles on it; however, according to State Farm, because the 2015 trucks are now out, mine is considered to them to be two years old. It must be some kind of new math or something but I think it is the big boys once again taking care of their 99 acre recreational park at their home office for their executives and could care less about their customers.

Since there was more than 5000 damage they would pay us to scrap the truck or we can keep it and fix it ourselves! The trees on their lots were just falling out as they were root rotted. At least 3 trees fell and they had had inspectors come out and look at the trees. State farm would not look into it and I had to take the liability.

Last week Traffic was stopped going onto the freeway ramp. Everyone was stopped and this guy comes around the corner full speed and cannot stop. I get pushed into the car in front. At first I was pleased by State Farm - the agent from whom I purchased my policy was pleasant and answered all of my questions. Once I was actually insured, I ran into multiple problems. First off, I was supposed to receive an In-Drive device to plug into my car. Doing this would result in an immediate $10/mo discount and, depending on save driving, a cheaper policy in the future. Unfortunately, they never mailed me the device. They called me a few times a week after I was supposed to have received it and each time I told them that I hadn't received the device and they needed to mail a new one out.

Eventually, I got notices that the discount was going to be cancelled and that I needed to return a device I never received to avoid an $100 fee. My premium went up $10 a month because I lost a discount due to their mistakes. I called them again to have them reinstate the discount and send out the device. The woman at the office said she would do this and never did.

Now, I'm trying to get my license plates for my new car. I purchased the car at the beginning of May and it is now mid-August. The State Farm office never submitted the paperwork confirming that I was insured to the state, so I'm driving around on my third set of temp tags, which is now expired, and an e-mail from the title clerk at the dealership saying that it's not my fault. Let's hope I don't get pulled over. Overall, very disappointed in State Farm's lack of communication and failure to follow through on simple tasks.

State Farm has refused to pay for my daughter's medical care after being T-boned by a teenager that ran a stop sign. They denied most of the needs of the car which was severely damaged in the wreck and even the collision shop said it should have been totaled. There has been nothing but trouble with the car since the repairs and State Farm will not even consider addressing it.

My daughter is young and already has nerve damage which is going to get worse and progress to the loss of use of her dominant upper extremity. State Farm has refused to pay for any medical bills. Even their own physicians that they had look at her on their behalf said she has severe damage and they have still refused to pay her claims. State Farm has this reputation. Why is this being allowed? They are supposed to back up the repairs on a vehicle and pay for the medical in an accident. That is what premiums are paid for. Lawyers state they are the worse to deal with in this business. They are known for this reputation. Why is this being allowed?

My daughter will only get a very small amount of money because of this whole scam and she will have to use it to pay medical bills and her attorney. The only people making money is the medical people and attorney that talked her into suing and she is left with permanent damage and there is nothing she can do. State Farm and the attorney has screwed her. There is medical proof of the damage and State Farm is refusing to pay and to top it off, the doctor referred her to the lawyer and the lawyers lied.

I called them - they said they "forgot" to give me a discount in accounting, but to disregard the bill. Two months later, I got a check for over paying my rates. Then I started getting phone calls asking me questions repetitively. I got tired of repeating myself so I just stopped answering the calls, and they stopped eventually. Until this month 8.2014, I got a phone call saying there was a balance due and if I don't pay, it'll lapse. I called, AGAIN, and the woman said it was due to an address change, but I never moved?! State Farm told me because I had moved to Georgia, which wasn't true - my residency with my children was in Minnesota for over a yr later, they wouldn't pay for my totaled car. 2014 my son girlfriend whom lives here, backed into a car insured by my husband. My son is a stepson to Pamela and Mike. State Farm again stated since we are relatives they don’t cover it. Then it was since we live together they don’t cover it, the issue again is my son is a stepson to my husband. Now they want something that shows my husband lives down in Louisville, GA.

State Farm is the worse insurance to have or when a accident happens they don’t cover it. My advice to anyone who has State Farm or hit by a insured State Farm person, that you look at what they say they cover and then refuse. I really think the insurance consumer affairs need to look into State Farms affairs. On both these occasions I would have to sue someone to get car fixed. This is bs.

I was a State Farm customer for over 9 years. Never filed a claim, never had an accident or moving violation. I owned at the time 3 cars. My total monthly payment was $180. I received a statement that had increased by $38 to $218.00 from one month to the next. I called to inquiry why. Well, State Farm informed me that a survey was given 2 months prior and I stated that I drove my Lexus 12,000 miles or less, versus the 7,500 mile or less when I received the policy. Well I did not complete that survey, my wife did, who is a stay at home mom and drives maybe at the most 50 miles per month. She thought she was doing me a favor by completing this survey. Well, it became my nightmare. I spoke to the agents office worker (never the agent - she NEVER calls!) and I questioned their method of increase without ANY notice to the customer. Their response was, "our agents don't know what corporate does until a customer calls to complain". Huh??? So corporate does changes to customers, but agents never know they're doing this? Makes no sense.

Anyway, I ask State Farm if they were willing to lose a long time customer over a survey that should NEVER be used to determine coverage or cost? State Farm stated "let's see what we could do". In the meantime I got quotes from Allstate and Geico. Their monthly premium was over $100 less ($116. month) than State Farm with the exact coverage. I ask State Farm could they match this and keep a long time customer. Never got a call back, which tells me they couldn't. To sum it up, it was sort of a blessing for me that State Farm raised my rate, and allowed me to see what kind of scammers they could be. Finally my Allstate agent stated, "I don't know why you stayed with them for so long". I said "comfort". I was very uncomfortable until State Farm tried to squeeze me for more money. Thanks State Farm for being snakes and losing a good customer. You can put your "Good Hands" where the sun don't shine :-)

I also state all of this as I am a "former" Florida Law Enforcement Officer. This is a crime and it occurred in Florida! State Farm reps even lied saying that they had and sent the original vehicle title to the state. More lies and deception which is nothing new for State Farm.

The State of Florida has confirmed that State Farm didn't have the original title when they applied for a new title without my consent or knowledge. State Farm had the original title but they gave it back to the previous owner at the same time they issued her their settlement check and made her sign a vehicle retention agreement. State Farm stole the title 48 days after the previous owner's settlement date and 13 days after the vehicle was put in my name. State Farm processed the vehicle title without the current or past vehicle owner completing an affidavit stating the insurance company is authorized to receive the title or that the property was being transferred to State Farm. In Florida it's called "Title and Registration Fraud" and Grand Theft of an automobile.

I was told by the guy's company to get two estimates and his parents would decide whether to pay or file a claim. After about two weeks, I contacted my Agent and asked them what was going on. They told me that State Farm is made up of separate agencies and that I would have to call the other Agency and get things going. When I did, the other agent had changed her story and said it was my daughter that was at fault.

I spent a month dealing with her (the other agent) lying to me. Then I told her I had a police report and I was going to sue the parents of the kid and her personally. I called my Agent and told them what was going on. THEY DID NOTHING TO HELP ME. Then after about a month and a half of nothing, I was told by my Agent to file a claim. They pass you off like you were on fire. I started filing the claim and I was told that the other claim had been approved at least 10 days prior. My agent said she checked that day. She was lying to me. Over a $1,500 dollar claim. I'm still dealing with this going on three months. It seems that they type into record conversations they never had with you and just lie at will. I originally signed up with State Farm a few years ago because they were a lot cheaper than what I was paying for my Mazda insurance. They also had more discounts and their loyalty discount seemed great. I had planned to stay with them for a very long time. I had been with them for about a year and saw a significant decrease of about $10 the first year, I was pretty happy. I had turned 25 and called them to see if there was another discount. Unlike every other company, there was not. I had also gotten married, which we also did not get any type of discount for, but I was still comfortable with State Farm and remained, even added my wife's car to my policy.

Now it was time for my wife to get a new car and my car payments were a bit high so I traded my vehicle in. This was to decrease my overall bills to about the same as my Mazda (Mazda = $400, 2 new cars $480). However I went from buying to leasing. With a lease in California, you are required to get 100K, 300K, 100K, in coverage. I called in October (within minutes of signing the lease) to give the information to State Farm. They recorded both of the new VINs and told me everything was set. I had an increase to $135 (from $95) so I wasn't too bothered by it.

However in December when I received a notice from Honda Finance that my car (the one driven the most) was not insured, I immediately called to take care of this. State Farm had recorded in their notes the VINs, but some moron up at corporate thought they were the same car. Honest mistake, I'm sure, although they are two completely different VINs. So I received a call notifying me that I wasn't paying enough. Sure, they only had one car on the insurance - this wasn't my fault. I called and even confirmed that they had both cars. Unfortunately at this point they had to "backdate" the insurance to the date I had originally called. Also they increased my premium to $235 since they made an initial mistake.

At this point I was pretty mad that I had such a significant increase, but that wasn't all. They also stated that I had to pay for the backdated insurance. I had to pay $286 for 3 months to get everything fixed. That was paid off in April so my payments went back down to $235. At the beginning of this month (July 3rd), I received a call because my payment didn't go through (my bank issued me a new card as they switched from Visa to MasterCard). Now when they called, they did not give me the total. They did not notify me of this increase (which automatically debited my account the month of June which was when the Premium went up). They simply stated that I needed to pay my bill because they couldn't process it. I gave them my card info and went to check my account. Noticing the transaction of $286, I called them back and found out about the premium increase.

Now I ask you, how fair is it that Uncle Sam gives these companies the authority to increase their prices on you without notifying you? Sure, it's great when you notice your bill is smaller, but when you start paying more it becomes a hindrance. My wife and I live in low income housing because we're LOW income, $50-$60 can make and break us for a month. They stated that they do not have to notify me unless I have alerts turned on, what kind of bull is that? I don't want to hear about the great boat insurance they have or other offers, but I want to know if there's going to be a rate increase. I will be damned if I don't search for insurance and get coverage prior to you increasing my rate. How is this not criminal?

I did not authorize an increase on my premium nor did I get any kind of notification. The funny thing is they started to do whatever they could for me and looked to check and see what discounts I was supposed to be getting and discovered that they have been charging me another $11+ on top of my regular premium. Ten months of me paying another $11.00 on my premium. The last payment I made to them was on July 3rd (Regular due date is June 29th but because of the new card change, I was late). Agreed I was late on my policy, getting a check back for $66.00 when I cancelled my policy within 10 days of the due date is completely bogus. Criminal even, I switched to Geico and now pay $125 a month for both leased vehicles with superior coverage. That's $1991.00 in savings A YEAR or $160 a month to be exact, so how is it that I get back only 66 bucks having just paid $286 5 days prior to cancelling? It just doesn't add up. I will see you in court, State Farm.

He said that the rate I pay for insurance was affected by this accident. I explained that the accident wasn't my fault -- a motorist backed-up into my car in a parking lot. The GEICO agent said the record states otherwise and the accident was my fault. But, the letter of experience would clear-up the situation. Such letters are routine and are often used when determining insurance rates.

I called the State Farm corporate office. To my great surprise, the agent said MY CAR BACKED-UP INTO THE OTHER CAR. I WAS AT FAULT! The statement of fact in this case was reversed! I asked the agent to please correct the record. The offending motorists insurance company paid for the repairs on my vehicle. I have photos showing the damage to the right rear quarter panel of my car. He replied that he couldn't change the record.

I requested State Farm to send the letter of experience anyway. This letter never arrived. In a subsequent call to State Farm to request this letter, I was told that

STATE FARM WOULD NOT SEND THIS LETTER TO ME. "Like a very bad neighbor, State Farm isn't there" should be your new motto. It is past time for you to correct the record. This filing (in small claims court) is the first step compelling you to do just that.

I have been with State Farm Insurance for over 30 years. I have found through my own questioning and perseverance that State Farm Insurance makes very little effort to find other party's fault - especially if other party works as an Adjuster for State Farm! I had someone back into me in a parking lot after I had already backed out of my space and stopped to put my vehicle into Drive. The other party admitted to me that they were involved in texting and while crying, found out her grandfather died. I called it all in to State Farm after going through the normal exchange of info with the other party. State Farm Never looked at the other party's car, but allowed that person to send in photos of car "damage"! It was determined 70/30 fault and I was 30! Huh?! Texting while driving is illegal in Texas, I was already backed out and putting my vehicle in Drive! What is wrong with this picture?! I pursued questioning State Farm Claims why was I found 30% at fault when there was nothing I could have done better?! It was clear when I backed out, I was not on the phone at ALL and I was not emotionally upset or excited!

Then State Farms Claims said that if I make a claim on that "accident" then I was 30% at fault, if I don't make a claim on that "accident" then I was not at any fault! Excuse me, but how does whether I make a claim that should be pursued against the other parties insurance make me somewhat responsible and how does not making a claim change that supposed some what responsible change? Plus why is it that the other party was allowed to send in pictures of her "damage"? State Farm Claims changed their tune and then stated they did not allow her to send in pictures of her "damage" after I made a big stink about all that State Farm Claims was allowing and putting me at fault even 30%!

I rent an apartment where everyone is required to have Home Insurance (Renters Insurance). I am physically disabled and I have to live on the ground floor. My neighbor above me, who happened to work as an Adjuster for State Farm, rented a washing machine and it flooded my apartment. I was blown off immediately when I mentioned that State Farm Claims should file against my upstairs neighbor by the adjuster that came by, my agent and Claims! I pursued questioning State Farm about why they did not pursue either my upstairs neighbor nor the property owner because my upstairs neighbor rented the washing machine from the apartments but the apartment management was unaware it was their washing machine.

I actually spoke to the "investigator" and he first tried to give me some pat answer that if I was not already suspicious of State Farm's investigatory habits in auto. The "investigator" admitted not looking at the supposed hose that broke on the washing machine to determine if it did indeed break and what kind of hose it really was. He said it was "black". Every washing machine hose I have ever seen is "black"! I told the State Farm "investigator" that if he did not actually see the hose, then I would not consider that an investigation at all. The State Farm Investigator replied, "Yes, you're right". I was sickened and thoroughly disgusted with State Farm overall after I spoke to that State Farm "investigator"!

I have made steps to change Insurance companies. I refuse to give my money to a company who doesn't show integrity - equally - to ALL their customers!!!

My wife was in an at-fault accident on May 20, 2014. Everyone was OK, but the cars were both in pretty bad shape -- the other worse than ours. I immediately called in the accident and was happy with the initial response of fact-gathering and information given as to what the next steps were going to be. If only the rest of the process would be so pleasant...

The claims person (team) assigned to us was extremely hard to get a hold of. I was just wanting to be informed of what was happening, what the next step(s) were -- but I was constantly having to leave messages and awaiting a phone call that sometimes didn't come until the next day. General frustrations with moving the processes along were common -- I had to call multiple times to facilitate action on either the insurance side or the repair shop. It seemed like I wasn't sure that the SF claims person was actually doing for me?

Perhaps normal, but again frustrating, was that the insurance adjuster/inspector initially called the car repairable -- but after just a few days of having the vehicle in the repair facility they said it was not -- it was a complete loss. The process for the shop submitting their findings took an extremely long time. Perhaps not the fault of SF at all, but again -- they did not seem to help at all. I was the one calling the repair shop (most often) to make sure this paperwork was done and sent to the claims department in a timely manner. Just trying to move things along -- something that I would've thought would be the job of the SF claims person/team!

Finally, once the determination was made it was a complete loss (over 3 weeks since the accident) -- I was left with more frustration. What should be the conclusion to the incident just makes me scratch my head even more! The claims person states that they will mail me the documents for everything (since I am unable to visit my agent's office) but it will take some time (several days). But, I only have 7 days from the total-loss determination on the rental car (which I had for almost the 3 weeks) -- and of course it means I'll need to look for a new car to replace the loss.

Having found and bought (financed) a new car, I was eager to check on the documents a week later -- since I never received them. I call to follow-up and the person can't seem to find anywhere in the system what the documents are or what state my claim is in (again, I am unable to reach my assigned claim person!). They tell me to call tomorrow when the title department is opened. Finally after several calls the next day to them, we have someone email us a form that I need to sign so they can pay off my loan. They say they will "overnight" the rest of the documents that cannot be emailed (DMV title documents) in the meantime.

The document is emailed to me, but it has to be faxed back! When I ask them if they received it, they say it may not show up for 24 hours. What?! Why can't I just email it back? And, now they say they have to wait for receipt of the faxed document before they can mail the other documents. Finally, my wife tells me they mentioned some sort of "new training" program on how claims are handled. I don't care what excuse they may give/have for this process -- it doesn't work. My wife and I have had their insurance for houses, cars and life for over 20 years -- but this just may be the end of the road for us. They were nothing like a "Good Neighbor" to us, in this instance.

May 21 2014, we had a fire in our two story home. The fire department came in four minutes. I called my husband who got on the phone to our State Farm policy holder. By the time my husband got to our home, the adjuster was waiting to speak to him. State Farm got us into a motel and since the estimate time we'd be out of our home was 4-6 months, they found us a very nice apartment, and then furnished it from furniture: to total kitchen, baths, linens..... In other words, everything we would need to live was there. They cut us a check for clothes that we needed till we knew whether or not our clothes were salvageable. They have been right on top of things so far.

I will continue to update as the process ensues. State Farm holds a policy on our cars as well as our home, since 1978 and we have never been stiffed by them. One must remember that there are 2 sides to every story. Have read many sad stories regarding State Farm Insurance. The packet was not sent out to us until Friday May 30th. It was sent UPS which does not run on the weekends. We didn't receive the packet until Monday June 2. We completed the documents and sent back out to State Farm on Tuesday June 3. We were told State Farm must receive these documents prior to issuing the settlement check to us. And since State Farm also decided in 2000 to settle with a woman who had made an obviously fraudulent claim, I have come to an ugly surmise: It's cheaper to let people with the youth and strength to lie and keep lying cheat ill, older customers than it is to fight false claims. She took offensive immediately because she was black and the other driver was black. My daughter happens to be white. She was angry that I referred to him as a thug. Very unprofessional. Should be unbiased but sided with this guy who acted abusive at the scene and then left before the police arrived. The other insurance called offering to pay for the damages. Then this same loss adjuster calls them and tells them it was my daughter's fault. She made this personal. Not only did she fail to represent me as her client she also failed in representing her own company.

This became a nightmare. I asked that she be removed but it came too late, and they still didn't fire her for her terrible handling of this account. I cancelled my policy immediately. This was the worse case where it was clearly not my daughter's fault and they did nothing to get the other company to pay for her damages but ruined the outcome of this claim. BEWARE PEOPLE. I have an insurance policy that will cancel tonight at midnight (5/19/2014). I just received notice today stating that it would cancel tonight, after I have been calling since that time asking my local agent (Jim ** State Farm) what was going on with my policy and when the actual expiration date was. I talked to the same lady I talked to today at least once, and this same lady told me before that she could not help me, and did not give me any more information regarding my policy other than it was due April 27th and that she did not know when the grace period was up.

My complaint is, receiving the notice today that was printed May 12th, when in the past I have received much more notice. Also, considering the fact I pay them $1000 a year and they refuse to help me and give me the correct information over the phone, I also would like to complain.

I have called and asked over and over what the date was to cancel and was told there was a grace period. Now that I receive a notice today saying my insurance has been cancelled since the 27th, the local office said the same thing to me (finally today). But I do not understand why I have called before and after the 27th to see what I could do, and was told there was a grace period. Now after I receive the notice saying it will end tonight, they tell me basically the grace period is 22 days. The same lady who told me before she didn't know and couldn't tell me, now tells me it is 22 days and has been that way for 25 years. So why could she not tell me that over the phone instead of refusing to help me when I needed help the most?

She told me basically my insurance policy had been canceled now since April, but again, why did no one tell me I did not have insurance, instead of stating I had a grace period, and would receive a notice prior to it canceling. I also was told today, I would get another notice of cancellation before it canceled. Yet, I was told it was canceling tonight, so I do not see another notice coming before midnight tonight, and when I explained that to them, I was told that I could go look the stuff up online myself.

Again, I am very upset that I have been calling and asking the information I need about my policy that someone has known for an admitted 25 years, yet they refuse to help me prior till my insurance grace period cancellation is over. Also, I just received a notice today, 5/19, that was printed out 5/12. This notice DOES NOT give a definite date of cancellation, other than stating it has been expired since April 27th. So I do not see why I have been calling asking this information, telling this ladies in this office that I am not even driving my car because it is broken, and they refuse to help me, and then when they do tell me any information to help me, they blame it on a new girl, when I know for a fact that I talked to the same person today that was supposedly a supervisor in the office, that I talked to before that told me "you can pay $250 to save your insurance policy from lapsing but I can't tell you the exact date."

This was after the 27th, after my insurance was expired already. And with my information pulled up in front of a supervisor, she could tell me I owed at least a $250 payment. But why could she not tell me my insurance had BEEN cancelled? Instead I was told there was a grace period of which I still had, and I was told that my insurance policy hadn't cancelled yet, that I would be still sent a letter giving me the date, and was assured it was to be mailed out with enough notice prior to it cancelling. None of that was true! Now today, they tell me my insurance cancelled on April 27th...so again, why did it take until May 19th to tell me this when I have been calling and calling them asking them? I pay them $1000 a year, have had 0 wrecks or claims.

The lady acts as if I don't pay them to look up my account information and tell me anything. She told me I could use google to look up information I needed, and then told me I should have access to my insurance policy as well. But why do I have a local office, with a local phone number, with my information in a computer, if you can't give me my correct information without lying to me first, or just flat out refusing to help me and blaming it on 'the new girl'? I know who I talked to and she was rude on the phone with me today. Before, she told me she didn't know and couldn't give me information, but today she told me she's been working for 25 years and it's always been the same. I want to know why State Farm (Jim **) refused to help me?

I was previously with Allstate for my auto insurance. Upon speaking with Donna, she convinced me the State Farm was a more compatible fit & would offer me better coverage for a cheaper price. I contacted Donna a week or so after signing up and informed her that I had a few tickets on my car & would not be driving for a few months until the issue could be resolved. I asked if there were a way I could put the insurance on hold, or if I should simply cancel and get a refund since I wouldn't really need the policy for the near future. She advised me NOT to cancel. She told me that she would put my account on hold so it wouldn't be charged and that whenever I was ready, to give her a call back and the policy would be reactivated from where I left off within that month. Well, approximately 3-4 months later, after I resolved my financial issues, I attempted to do exactly that and found that 1.) I'd somehow incurred a balance of over $500 and 2.) that policy was no longer available to me.

After much conversation, she then convinced me to make a $200 payment to reactivate the account, and said that from there, the $500.00 balance would be erased and that I would received a refund check in the mail within a week of $180.00 for my initial payment. It has been two months, I have not received the check she promised me, the balance has not been resolved and I have has a VERY difficult time getting her on the phone to get any answers.

The other issue I've had with Donna and her office - is that my account is suppose to include full coverage - with road side assistance. She told me this definitively when I signed up, as I told her it was imperative for me as an inexperienced driver. For some reason, every one of the 3 times I have needed to have my car jump started, or when I locked myself out, I have had to pay out of pocket. In that situation she told me it would take a few days to get the check. In actuality, it took over a month and I've only received the first one. IT has been 1 issue after another with State Farm and they are extremely incompetent. I may have gotten a cheaper quote then AllState, but I sincerely wish I had never transferred over my policy! I don't even know where to go from here or how I contact their corporate office...

When he finally returned my call a day later, I was told there was an investigation to determine who was at fault. Their insured was cited on location of the wreck by the Georgia state patrol 2 days later and after I had acquired accident report and faxed and emailed to Todd and his supervisor, I was then informed that when they concluded their investigation and made a determination for who is at fault, they would contact me.

Later that day, I got a call from Todd stating that we could move forward with repairs and two days ago when that was still nothing from their adjustor and just had to file a claim with my insurance company which is Travelers Insurance at 7:39 a.m. this morning and adjustor is going to meet with me today, thanks to a real company. I didn't get a phone call, a letter or an email because they failed to update my information and made no effort to correct this when I called them about the lapse in my insurance - causing me to receive a ticket with a fairly high penalty. I switched over to Progressive and ended up saving about $100. I will not be going back to State Farm.

I had the worst experience with this State Farm office. I sign up for a liability policy and ask for a month-to-month payment and got my quotes for 2 months of $83.69, instead I check my account and found out they took out $500 out my account without my authorization. I am still waiting for my refund. It's been over a month and they took my money almost 2 months ago. Now they're ignoring my calls. Never got a call back from the agent that took my money. Never got a call from the supervisor or the owner. I called them multiple times and always talk to the assistant. I talk to the supervisor, Eric **, once and he did apologize, but at the same time he said that the agent Thomas that sign me up never makes a mistake and he's not going to argue with me on the phone because it's not going anywhere.

When ask about my refund (multiple times) on multiple calls, they give me different answer or, Yes it's being process", but in reality when I talk to the State Farm main office, there is no indication of any money being refunded back to me! I am extremely frustrated. I feel they had lie to me, give me the runaround and just poor customer service... I think their only concern is to get their commission! Never have I encounter this kind of service and unfortunate for me even with my complaints to the supervisor, they're all related! So they're covering each other's behind!

A State Farm-insured rear-ended my vehicle while I was at a full stop at a stop light. I had a neck injury and a pre-existing head illness which aggravated my pain even more and prolonged my recovery, which is still ongoing. State Farm Insurance's offer was $3500.00. My medical bill from the Veterans Administration is over $8600.00. There was no reasonable offer of pain and suffering from State Farm Insurance. By the way, I was insured by State Farm Insurance, liability only, then, at the time of the accident. State Farm did settle with me regarding the damages to my vehicle.

As for my injuries and pain and suffering, I filed a court case against the person who hit me and State Farm. Though my court complaint is probably headed for another amended, my legal consultation told me I can sue State Farm for bad faith. Right now, State Farm attorney's has Demurred twice. It seems that State Farm Insurance does not mind spending thousands of dollars to defend its position for not wanting to fully pay my medical bills, pain and suffering from the auto accident that their insured caused, and which adds up to 3-times the amount of the medical bills.

State Farm attorneys have gone to San Diego court to get a sustain judgement to argue their Demurrer at the upcoming date of our Case Management Conference instead of waiting until later in the year - as originally on calendar due to "cost". Those attorneys stated in their recent pleading to the court that when they called me to state that I could not sue State Farm, that I told them never to call them again. Untrue. I told them not to call me if all they want to talk about is I being unable to sue State Farm. Those two calls from State Farm attorneys were disrespectful, but they are paid by State Farm, meaning, maybe they were probably doing their job to be disrespectful to me. I don't know.

To date: State Farm and I will be meeting at a Case Management Conference soon. My case is In Pro Per. Lastly, as an African-American, I find it shameful for State Farm to endorsed certain high profile African-American professional basketball players to reach out to African-Americans community, be it a subliminal message or not, to sign up with their company as insurers, when State Farm insurance has shown me they are not interested in taking care of it's insurers fairly and probably of any race. But as an African-American, I know how many, if not most, will receive my experience with State Farm Insurance: an untrustworthy insurance company.

So that's what my premiums pay for... I switched to another insurance company that offers MBI mechanical breakdown insurance - an extended warranty I can actually use and benefit from! We had our autos, travel trailer and home Insured with this company .A building company (Eco Star) inspected the roofs after hail and wind storm as I noticed a couple small pieces of roof shingles as I mowed the yard. They stated I had wind and hail damage. The first adjuster for State Farm came out but failed to have a ladder to do her job. I thought this to be very strange and poor for a Insurance adjuster that needed to look at the roofs. From the ground, she determined that the storm came from a certain direction and I had wind damage.

The builder rep. offered a ladder and she looked at the garage. She did not get on the house and look and a sprinkle started and she stated it would be too unsafe to get on the roof. The second time it was too icy. The 3rd she called and was here in 5 minutes and with another adjuster but did not advise the builder and they were not present. Now they have to put it off until spring because the weather is so bad. Spring came and a new adjuster was contacted but he had a foot injury and had to wait until he could get around. When he got here after a week or so, he brought a person who could get on the roofs.

Well, finally got to the roof and wouldn't you know it, there was no Hail damage but wind damage was present. There was drywall damage in the house by now but they say that was from ice. They claim the water that ran down the bathroom wall into the study was from the roof vent that has been there for years had snow blow in it. By this time, I was ready for them to leave just because it got so STUPID. Please, if you can't afford to live up to your responsibility that you took my money for, at least don't insult me. THE WORST COMPANY EVER! If you really want to get back at someone, refer this company to them and they will have more misery than splinters under their finger nails. I could go on and on but if you don't get it by now, maybe you should work for State Farm.

I had State Farm insurance when I lived in Ohio and when I moved to Florida, I wanted to continue. The State Farm office I have had to deal with cancelled my auto insurance after 20+ years when my teens began driving and had accidents. I cancelled my homeowner's insurance with them but am "stuck" with their office being listed as my servicing agent for my flood insurance. I've tried to change to another company that would actually service my policy but I cannot switch until renewal. I tried this past year but my mortgage company paid without my knowledge which resulted in me having 2 flood insurance policies. State Farm's policy has me in the wrong flood zone costing me $1500.00 more than the other policy which had me in the correct flood zone.

I've been trying to resolve this issue for a month now. After instructing me to fax my elevation certificate while on a 3-way call with my mortgage company, State Farm now tells me they don't update flood zones and they don't send my elevation certificate anywhere; they don't do any of that. I contacted NFIP and sent my elevation certificate and pictures I took of the front and back of my house to them myself. They tell me they have everything they need to update my flood zone but I need an agent. My agent does not return my calls. I was told I can try to go to another State Farm agent (still NFIP) but an agent I contacted told me they cannot service another agent's policy if it's the same county.

This is not the first time I've had issues with State Farm not servicing my flood insurance policy. Last year when I refinanced and had to increase my coverage, my mortgage company threatened to add adequate flood insurance since I was not in compliance. I had to have my mortgage company call the State Farm office to explain to them it was their job to take care increasing my coverage. The people I have spoken with at this office seem clueless about flood policies. NFIP tells me it is the agent's responsibility to take care of this for me but the office states it is not.

When I originally signed up for my car insurance I was in a rush because I got the call that my car had come in that day to the dealership and it had to picked up, but could not be picked up without insurance. I spoke with a representative on the phone who told me to sign up for the good student discount even though I told her I had graduated college a year prior. I don't think she entirely knew what I was saying but I wasn't going to turn down a discount. Cut to 3 months later State Farm is frantically calling me saying they need my college grades. I informed them that I had graduated and the representative, Rachel at Nora Holmes office, very rudely made me feel like I was stupid for signing up for something I couldn't. I asked her why no one called me in the last 3 months asking for my grades and she just insisted that I would be charged for the discount I was given. I told her and the other 10 people I spoke to on the phone that I was never trying to cheat them out of money, I just genuinely didn't understand that I had done something wrong and didn't think I needed to pay them back.

If State Farm needed that money so bad I thought someone should have called in the 3 months I got the discount to ask about my grades. They didn't agree. Everyone I spoke to said there was nothing they could do and I owed them money. Never in my life have I witnessed a company who would rather lose a client than negotiate something with them.

Originally my monthly payment was around $120. Then went to $168. Now with the money I owed them it was $191. This past month I got a bill in the mail with a balance of $198. I called State Farm asking why my bill had gone up and the woman stated that she saw the balance change on my account but there was note as to why the price had gone up. I could never imagine a company as successful as State Farm who has no inclination to keep their clients. As soon as I can switch to another car insurance I am leaving State Farm and although it has only been 6 months I have had an AWFUL experience with them the entire time.

Dropped after 60 years due to a scuff. This explanation should serve to warn anyone who is contemplating paying premiums to State Farm in exchange for providing insurance. They dropped my Mom who was a 60 year customer. I suppose they don't need her business, but that's not what this is about. I am writing to warn others. The problem I have is with how they did it and why they did it. You will realize as I have that they are cold, calculating and indifferent to you, someone you would not want as your neighbor. How they did it:

My mother's first awareness that she had been dropped was after trying to fulfill a request from the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration for proof of insurance. In short they told MVA she was dropped last December (this is March 27, 2014 today) but they did not tell her. There was no phone call. There was no regular mail. There was no email. There was no notice on the website where she regularly transacts and pays premiums. They claim they sent certified mail last November. During this time my mother was in the hospital for surgery for 30 days and then rehab for 20 days. They were aware that she did not pick up the letter but proceeded without any other warning or notice. I am sure they know that there is a $150 fine for lack of insurance for the first 30 days, then $7 a day thereafter. Her fine is $580. When on a fixed low income (Social Security) this can be devastating. You should also know that the web presence for her auto account simply vanished without a trace. Her homeowners was there, but the auto simply vanished.

Why they did it: This is good. Apparently the letter, which she still hasn't seen, demanded that her son (that's me) be excluded from the policy in order to continue it. There is a provision for this in Maryland law. They claim this was due to my driving record. I have a clean record with MVA and no moving violations. They, however, received a report that her car, being driven by me was in an at fault accident. I have included the pictures of the incident so you can judge for yourself. By the way, in phone conversations with Gina ** of the Voritskul Agency (Georgia Ave, Maryland) no claim was actually filed by either party and no money was paid. This was a reversal of an earlier conversation where she indicated that the amount of money paid out was the reason they wanted me excluded. That obviously can't be the reason if no money at all was paid out.

So now I am high risk, to them. I guess I might get another scuff. This incident occurred while backing slowly out of a parking space. The other driver was doing the same thing. Keep in mind that my mother did not have any incidents and I am not on the policy. I had permission and just drove the car to the nearby NAPA to buy a car part. I have done maintenance on her 2002 Buick since new and drive it occasionally when doing work on it. Needless to say their request could not be resolved, even after several attempts. She decided she needed actual insurance, so she dropped the homeowners also, to keep everything with the new carrier. Friends don't let friends use State Farm.

A State Farm adjuster came out to my home to look at some damage on the rear end of my car. I told him my hatchback would not open since the accident. When I got my car back from the shop, I still could not open hatchback without the key, so I took the car back. The shop called State Farm, the person from State Farm called me and I explained that the shop was supposed to examine the hatchback and that it was on the estimate. She told me the lift-gate face was on the estimate and that it was not the same thing. She said State Farm would send the adjuster out to look at the car. NO one ever came and I never got a call saying they were not going to come to look at the car.

When the accident happened with the person insured by them, I got a call one time when I CALLED THEM BACK they said they could not talked to me because they could reach their insured. I had to keep calling them to get them to start working on my car. 4-5 calls later they finally sent the estimator out. The hatchback issue was same way. I had to keep calling the them. They told me I would have to pay someone to take the car apart to prove it was the result of the accident.

These are the key points when dealing with State Farm in Georgia: Do not bother leaving a message, they will avoid you as much as possible. They may call you back once, but to get anything done you will have to make a lot of calls to them. Make sure you understand what the adjuster put on the estimate, make them put exactly what you said. I did not know my hatchback was called a Liftgate and I still don't know what the liftgate face is, anyway it got State farm out of fixing my car completely.

I had insurance with Esurance before State Farm called me and said that they can beat the rate I paid for Esurance. I signed up because I thought was a good deal. I paid my insurance after their agent called me and verified all my information and what cars I have. Two months down the road I received a letter from State Farm stating that my insurance will cancel on March 7, 2014 and that's it, no explanation and no reason. So I contacted my agent and told the receptionist about the situation. She looked it up and told me that my other car's vin number didn't match up, after we went through together with the agent before they screwed me up.

After I talked to the receptionist about the problem, she told me that they will fix the problem. I waited for a week for a phone call from the agent, so I assumed they fix the problem. My payment due date came and nothing taken away from my bank. I went on their website and tried to pull my information with the policy number and the website said that the policy number I entered isn't valid. I panicked because my payment is still sitting in my bank account. Finally I contacted State Farm regarding my policy not valid, and the customer service told me that I don't have any insurance with State Farm, the previous policy I had is closed. I asked the rep to tell me the reason, and he said that I had to call the agent to find out because there is nothing stated on the policy why it was closed.

State Farm really screwed me up this time. I had never lapsed insurance in my life and now suddenly State Farm screwed me. The only one thing I wanted from State Farm is called and tell me that I have to look to another company because they only took perfect people with no tickets, and no sins. They really dropped the bomb to ruin me. Now I tried to find insurance from other companies and they told me to pay more money to reinstate because it seemed like I never had insurance for a year.

State Farm just ruined people's life. I am a honest human being and I don't lie to get my way. I had to tell other insurance that State Farm cancelled my insurance without contacting me or send me another letter. And the thing that upsets me was they don't care about people. They don't care if they screwed people around and they don't care to call and had no guts to call the customer and tell the customer that sorry we don't want your business and your money either because you had a funny name or too many tickets. I had been driving for 20 years and I had no tickets or accidents, and why can't State Farm do this for once in their retarded business. I just want them to put my insurance on without any lapse so I can shop around with another company they care for people's lives.

Now here is the problem....the leak was from the dishwasher, water running between the tile and wall, soaking thru to the sub flooring and floor truss... Absolutely no indication of a problem, no water to mop, no signs of a water leak. When we called the agent (office next to walmart, Ellis **), he came twice and was continually saying "don't file a claim, they will DROP YOU!" Seriously? that's what insurance is for, right? After insisting, an adjuster came and refused the claim.

Was we to randomly get up one morning and just tear out ceramic tile to SEE if we can find a leak?? Remember, there was no indications of a leak! Bottom line this expense is coming out of pocket and State Farm is utterly and completely a rip off and they do not care about their customers nor their hardships, AT ALL!!! State Farm Insurance group confirmed to the Insurance Commissioner that it is their company policy to assign one adjuster to determine liability when it is a State Farm to State Farm claim. Our adjuster flat out refused to give us our own representative. She said she was more than capable of representing both parties fairly. She then informed me that she had no doubt my son was liable for the accident, regardless of what the Oregon State Trooper had to say (fair??). She stated she'd done her job for 40 years and never seen a rear end accident that was not the rear driver's fault. I asked that she remain impartial.... at least until she talked to the Trooper and viewed the police report. She informed me that "law enforcement does not determine liability I do!" Nice, first conversation with what is supposed to be the adjuster representing US, the paying policy holder!

The adjuster sided with the other driver. I asked for a review and her response was that her decision was final, her team agrees there will not be an appeal. I then asked for confirmation that she refused my request for a separate adjuster and to confirm I'd exhausted all levels of appeal and she simply didn't respond. She didn't respond to HER POLICY HOLDER... the person PAYING for her representation! I escalated to her supervisor and everyone did NOTHING but try to sugarcoat the fact that this woman LIED!

I have been with State Farm since 1996 and have been a good paying customer. My home, vehicles all insured through State Farm! State Farm has provided insurance for my family for as long as I can remember. It's a tradition. My claim is not much as the car was after all a "kid's car". I thank god that my children escaped the accident with minor injuries. I will be filing in small claims. I may not win but State Farm needs to learn that it is not OK to not represent. It is not ok to lie about what a "LAW ENFORCEMENT" officer tells them.

They need to understand that our premiums are paying for their representation, that means they are for US not the other guy! I'm leaving State Farm and taking my business elsewhere. As I have been pulling in quotes I have found several companies where my home owners insurance is lower - giving me a break towards the increase that I'm taking due to the reported accident. I was with State Farm because to me State Farm was just "family." Well I sang the jingle and nobody showed up! Very sad!

They harassed me and made me give them all kinds of unnecessary records and list of friends and just about everyone I knew. My car was not recovered and they acted like I stole it. They never even talked to anyone living near or working near where it was stolen nor did they even check towing services. Later they said it was my job and my fault that my car was stolen.

They were very rude and very unprofessional. They are just plain mean. One of their SIU guys even lied about his name! They also tried changing my statements too. They lied and lied. In the end after 2 1/2 months longer than the state allows, I had to get an attorney. Then they offered me $3,700 less than I owed on my car. 5 1/2 months later I am driving the other classic car I own, because they haven't paid me yet for what I owe on my car, let alone the value of my car. State Farm makes bad, bad neighbors! I cancelled my homeowners and business insurance with them. They are a nightmare when you need them, not a good neighbor at all. They make you feel like a victim all over again!

I would like to preface this story with do not buy State Farm insurance from ** in Cedar Park, Texas. He will not do his job to keep you insured. Soon as there is an issue, you are own your own to fight with State Farm. My 16 year old son backed out of his friend’s house heading for a day at the lake, (only 2 months after receiving his license), he backed into a car parked across the street. He got out and looked at the car to see if he had done some damage, he didn't see any damage, so he proceeded to the lake. The next thing I know there is a police officer at my door telling me my son was involved in a hit and run.

I meet my son and the officer at his friend’s house to see the "hit and run", it turns out that he had cracked the reflector and there was a half inch mark on the fender (not easily visible), that could have been easily buffed out. Regardless of the minor amount of damage, the officer made a big deal out of it anyway. My son had to go to court for a failure to report an accident. He paid his fines and did community service so that nothing would be on his record. It turns out that a broken reflector and scuff on a fender cost State Farm $1,800.00 to repair, this being the only claim we have had with State Farm in 20 years we were cancelled. Their reason being that it was a "hit and run" and that's a serious offense. How State Farm would even know this with there being no record of it on my son's driving record is still a mystery. I don't think a scuff and a cracked reflector count as a "hit and Run" reason for canceling a loyal customer.

I went through my Agent ** first to solve the issue, that is his job after all. He said that the underwriter told him it stands as cancelled unless they get new information. So I ask ** what information do they have, he doesn't know. Can you ask? - No, but I will refer you to other agencies so you can get insured. Well that is a big help! After badgering him enough to let me talk to the underwriter so that I can solve the issue (me doing his job), he gives a general number that sends me all over the place, until I actually get to talk to an underwriter, of course she is in Oklahoma and cannot help me in Texas. But she takes down my information and says she will have a Texas underwriter call me tomorrow by 10:00 (she also says that my agent should be making these calls, I said he wouldn't so I am. She did apologize for that).

Needless to say - no phone call the next day, but the day after, my agent calls and tells me that State Farm reconsidered the issue (no thanks to my agent). They will write a new policy, but they will have to exclude my son - unacceptable of course. Again, I get this is all we can do for you from my agent. After more badgering trying to get a direct number to the underwriter out of my agent, I at least get the name of the underwriter handling my account.

After another hour on the phone I finally get through to someone who tells me that they cannot transfer me to this underwriter, but she will get a message to her and she will call me back, which basically means you will never hear from us ever. So next time you get in your car and your door swings open and bumps that car next to you (you think it's only a little door ding), and drive off - you just committed a "hit and run" and if the owner happens to get your plate number and calls the police - Good Luck!

I'm sorry but a payment of any type should be an honorably excepted bottom-line amount. I will certainly seek other less parasitic providers.

We were still paying on our Mini, so we had full coverage. We later on moved from VA to MS not noticing that they had switched our policy from Full Coverage to Liability only. I discovered it only after being rear ended by a truck that was going 75 mph and hit me from behind. I called the VA State Farm to let them know of the error, and the man in charge wanted to blame the insurance company from WA; however, the policy from WA clearly stated that it was fully covered by them. Fritz ** is a good State Farm agency to go to in WA, but RD ** is the one who screwed us over, and did not want to take any responsibility for it. I was pregnant with my first baby and had a lot on my mind getting ready and so naturally, the coverage drop was missed. All I have to say is CHECK YOUR POLICY!!!! I manage to avoid collision but the car behind me hit me at a speed that was at least 45mph. My bumper on my truck was damaged and the exhaust system. I filed a claim went to doctor and State Farm refuse to pay. They did pay for my repairs and deductible. I went to doctor the next day and my neck was examined and it was determined I had whiplash. I'm also a heart patient which is why I went to the doctor. I have 4 stents.

State Farm told my lawyer that the damage done to my vehicle Didn't justify any pain and suffering. There is a clause in all policies that allows you to use the 5000 dollars from your own policy to cover situations like this. I am not a crooked person and the only reason I went to doctor because of his concern about my body being a heart patient. State Farm refuse to pay anything to me. My lawyer had to negotiate with doctor so I could receive compensation for the doctor' lawyer, and myself from the $5000 in my own policy.

State Farm is the worse company to cover you. Case in point. My parents were with State Farm for 60 years. My dad had a policy that was based on %. He did his own work. My dad died and I discovered that to help my 80 something mother was to convert policy over to a regular home owner's policy. She had 2 claims in 60 years. They raised her deductible to $1000 because they said she had too many costly claims. The 1st was water damage from garbage disposal. The contract workers only removed damage tiles and never replace decking. The 2nd time the line that goes to the ice maker developed a leak and flooded the floor. This time the workers (different) tore up the whole floor took out cabinet some refrigerator and put in a completely new floor and replace the molded cabinets that the 1st crew didn't do or even try to find out if it was damaged. What a company.

Spend thousands of dollars on Chris Paul commercials and other costly commercials but all they want for a car/house owner to do is not have claims just pay the premium. I wish I could meet the so called agent that reviews claims and decide to throw them out based on his assumption of whether or not they are legit. I hope he doesn't fall asleep at the wheel or gets stuck in his house when a fire occurs. That's why people cheat. The legitimate people catch hell.

I didn't want State Farm involved because it was the Allstate driver's fault. I got less than my car needed to be paid for from Allstate and when I went to pay my mechanic, they asked that I give them only the $500 deductible from the $602 Allstate paid. I did that and since the car cost $743 they asked State Farm to pay the difference.

Recently I was made to pay State Farm back. Why am I having to pay anything? I was hit in the rear! It doesn't sit well with me for some reason. I chalked it up because Allstate did give me $500 for pain and suffering which I guess was to pay the difference but nobody mentioned that to me. Purchased an auto insurance for my car and was supposed to pay 29 dollars per month for six months. One month after that, they still hadn't send me my proof of insurance. I had to yell at them over the phone in order for them to email me a copy. I then started receiving emails requiring me to provide them with my DL from my previous state which I didn't have. I told them that is public knowledge and if they really wanted that invalid DL, they can ask DMV. Instead they sent me a notice two days prior to reoccurring charge withdrawal stating that the rate had increased to 48 dollars.

I called them and asked them why they did that and they stated that they had given me a prior credit based on my invalid DL and now that I did not give them that number, they decided to withdraw that 'credit' . I then requested them to send me the policy agreement with a clause specifying that they had given me a credit. The agent, one mean lady called Stephanie ** working under Kevin ** in a LA office, told me they don't have such kind of paperwork. I then insisted that it was a lie and the rate increase was illegal. She kept on mentioning that the rate would go down if only I provided my past DL which I did not have.

In the end I decided to cancel the policy and requested be refunded my fee for the rest of the month (about 26 days). So then I asked for a policy cancellation confirmation from them. This woman told me it never works like that and told me she will send me an email to confirm that. Instead she sent me a note and I quote "A cancellation for your 1998 Toyota Corolla policy number ** was submitted on 2/11/2014." I emailed her back reminding her that I can understand English and that whatever she sent me was not a policy cancellation confirmation. She never replied back. I tried calling her and the line never went through. I doubt if they have cancelled my policy. I guess they just don't want to return the rest of my money. State Farm uses one rating system to quote rates to new customers and a different system to quote rates to existing customers and charge existing customers extremely higher rates. We purchased a motorcycle policy from State Farm and went back to purchase insurance on 2 cars, 2 snowmobiles, 2 jet skis, and an umbrella policy. Because we were considered an existing customer (due to the motorcycle policy) and it had been 34 days since our original quote (and they honor the quote for 30 days) State Farm wouldn't honor the quotes they gave us on any of the other lines of business. They re-rated us as an existing customer and rates were extremely different (e.g. the 2 cars alone would have been more than $640 more than the quote they gave us for new customers).

When I asked why rates were so much higher when nothing had changed they could only say that they have to use a different system to rate existing customers. It's really sad that a company treats new customers well but existing customers so poorly. We walked away with all of the lines of business and cancelled the motorcycle policy because we don't want to deal with a company that treats its customers that way.

My wife and I purchased an auto insurance policy from State Farm agent in Wilmington, Delaware with policy number ** starting from 11/19/2013. The six month premium was $735.15. Last December, since we have to move from Delaware to New Jersey, we decided to discontinue the policy. I made a call to my agent and discussed our situation with him. He told me if I decided to discontinue the policy, the prorated amount would be refunded to me. I then specifically asked him what would be the exact amount, he made the calculation for about one minute and told me, since we decided to end the policy starting from 12/12/2013 12:01am, the prorated refund should be around $642. I did the calculation myself, and figured out that I was roughly required to pay the premium of 23 days (23/182*735=$93), which was the period our vehicle was covered under the policy. I was satisfied with the result, so I authorized my agent to end the policy and didn't ask for any alternatives.

After one month, I still didn't receive the refund yet. So I called again for the updates, and it turned out they got all the paperwork but forgot to process it. Two weeks later, I finally got my refund. However, the refund was only $558. I called the local agent again. This time it was a different man answered the phone. He said he didn't know how the refund was calculated, and he had to call another department and got back to me. I received his call hours later, and told me based on the calculation of the other department, I had to pay some penalty for the termination. I argued that I was not aware of this situation the day I decided to end the policy, and he told me the refund was all decided by the other department, and they had nothing to do with it. Then I asked if I could have the number of the department since I would like to check it myself. He refused my request and emphasized that I could only contact State Farm through them and that was all they could do for me. Therefore, it leaves me no choice but file a complaint here to get some attention.

I am complaining of three issues. First, State Farm fails to honor promised refund. If $558 should be the correct amount, then I was misled by the local agent and resulted in ending the policy. If I was informed of the possible penalty at that time, I would make a different decision. Thus, I don't think I should be responsive for the penalty. And by the way, I have been with Geico, Progressive, 21st Century for years, none of them charged me any penalty fees for early termination. Second, the employees failed to process the refund for one month after they got all the paperwork, and if I didn't check it myself, it would take me forever to get my refund check back. Third, I am not satisfied with the attitude of the local agent. He didn't actively try to help the customer to solve an issue, instead he used company policy as excuses trying to end the conversation as quickly as possible.

The above three issues make me very uncomfortable as being a customer of State Farm. In the end, I would like a refund of $84 ($642-$558) from State Farm if possible.

On October 28th 2013, I was rear ended by a 70 yr old guy in a brand new Buick LaCrosse. The damage was so severe that the truck lid was stuck shut, passenger rear door was buckled, whole quarter panel was twisted and the fuel tank vent system was breached. Many warnings lights was on, parking sensors malfunction, fuel tank system warning, etc. The car wasn't drivable.

The insurance carrier of the person that rear ended me is State Farm. I filed a claim thru my insurance company (Esurance) and with State Farm. Esurance claims rep called me back and said he wanted to make sure State Farm is handling this because they're the party at-fault and is 100% responsible. While I cannot talk about the injuries I have per my attorney, I will tell you how State Farm handled the repair of my 2007 BMW 328xi.

I brought my car to North State Custom body shop in Bedford Hills, NY because they're trained and certified by BMW to repair their cars. I told them only OEM parts can be used to repair the car. I made it a point that they need to contact me and discuss before repairing the car as I know it doesn't look good. A week later I get a message on my answering machine from State Farm saying the car is repairable and it costs approx $9,000.

I called State Farm back and like expected, no one picked the phone up and they want to have a voicemail left. Approx 2 weeks later, more damage was found during disassembly. The body shop had to make a supplement twice. I called State Farm and again no one picked up the phone. I stayed on the line and demanded someone pick up this claim right now. The lady who read out my claim said my car was flagged for a total loss and it costs $13,600 total for the repairs. She went on to say she doesn't know why they repaired my car because it was supposed to be a total-loss and she doesn't know who authorized the repairs. I told her I need copies of all the documentation and records on this.

She kept telling me she's not authorized to do that and will have to send me to my Claim rep Chona **. Her position is total-loss department. I finally got thru to her and she told me my car is only $900 away from total-loss but it was flagged for a total-loss. She said they use 75% rule to determine if the car is a total-loss. I told her the car Blue Book is only 12-13 grand. She tells me they don't use the Blue Book way and they have a different system of valuing the car. I asked her what the car's value per State Farm is. She told me they value the car at $17,300. I said why wasn't it not totaled then? Because the damage is severe and there's frame damage.

She basically stonewalled me at this point and said because it's only $900 away from total-loss and went on to tell me it didn't meet the total-loss per the car age and value. Said they're taking 100% responsibility for this accident and handling this case, thus telling me good luck at this point. State Farm closed the claim saying there's nothing they can do about this now.

Esurance has kept their claim open because the problem with State Farm is not resolved. To date I have not received any copies of documentation and explanation on how they came up with that value of $17,300. I got a copy of the estimate papers and it shows that recycled and parts from a similar year model is used and new parts are substituted with aftermarket parts and not all parts are new.

A week later I got a call from my body shop saying my car is fixed. It was in the shop for over a month, it needed over 100 man hours to fix it. I asked them who authorized the repairs because I never gave the go-ahead and the car was supposed to be totaled. They looked at me like they're in shock. They told me the State Farm appraiser told them to go ahead and repair the car. I found out State Farm sent the check directly to the body shop, very disappointed no one contacted me about this.

I had to return the rental car and pick up my car, it was close to closing time at the body shop and it was a Friday. The shop told me the car frame had to be pulled back to specs and the damage was so severe that the car that hit me probably did not use any braking. On the drive home, I hear a whirring noise under the car. Sounds like a wheel bearing or the transfer case. When I go highway speeds, there's bad vibration. The car never did this before the accident.

I noticed there's areas of the car that was not repaired to the way it was before the accident, such as the trim on the top of the bumper has a slight curve to it and it wasn't like that before the accident. Also the gap between the trunk lid and the bumper is bigger than before while the top part of the trunk lid is flush with the quarter panels. The replacement battery they used in the repair of the car is smaller than the OEM battery.

On the morning of January 22nd, I turned the windshield defroster on and made a right turn getting onto the parkway, I heard a cracking noise a few mins later. There's a long crack on my windshield starting from the bottom of the driver's side and runs all the way to the bottom of the passenger side up a slight curve. Upon examination of the windshield from the exterior, there's no impact point or damage that could have caused it to crack. At this point I'm thinking since the frame was pulled, it stressed out the windshield thus causing it to crack eventually.

I contacted Esurance about this and the claims rep told me they will contact the body shop and ask them if they feel the frame pulling has caused this to happen. I know the shop will try to play it down. I filed a complaint with the Insurance department on this already. I contacted my insurance (Esurance) and they're trying to find out who dropped the ball at State Farm. But so far no luck because State Farm is not returning calls. I told them (Esurance) they need to push harder and get State Farm to fix this because the car should have been totaled.

I have been a loyal State Farm customer for over twenty years with only a few minor claims (like cracked windshields due to road damage). About a month ago I hit a pothole during a snow storm that caused over a $1,000 in damages. I submitted my claim via my agent who happened to be retiring after over fifty years of service to them. He referred me to their claims department until a new agent was assigned. From there things went downhill fast. I spoke to a claims rep who told me to fax my repair receipts over to them and they would probably send someone over to view the damaged parts and then proceed to pay my claim. No one ever called, however I did receive a call two weeks later from my repair shop saying they got a strange fax from SF.

I called State Farm only to be transferred three times and put on hold for over thirty minutes. When the rep finally picked up the phone, she claimed that they never received a fax from me, nor did they ever send a fax to my repair shop. Upon explaining to them that I had proof that they actually did receive and send a fax, she claimed that was impossible and that it must have been sent by my agent. I explained that my agent retired well before I sent the fax over and that I hadn't been assigned a new one yet. She insisted that he still is my assigned agent and has no idea when an agent leaves the company. She was also puzzled as to why I was upset over this whole process. She went on to say that she couldn't accept emails and I had to register for their "secure email site". Not surprisingly I still have not received any information from my "good neighbor" regarding my claim. I'm seriously considering changing my neighbors.

Well, I never received the letter. A few months ago I got a letter saying my homeowners insurance had been cancelled. I have a condo in North Carolina that has a mortgage from my bank. I called the State Farm rep and she tells me since I am not occupying the house I would need proof that I had not vacated completely. She told me to send her a copy of electric, water or gas bill saying the property was still in use. So I DID that. But she keeps telling me she needs to go by my home and look around to see who is there and how often (like a spy out of Ian Flemming). My banker told me to have her get in touch with her and he even faxed her information. She refuses to cooperate and claims my e-mails to her office goes in the "junk" mail.

What's up with this?? I'M tired of playing games with this (excuse the expression) lady. Please respond because I need insurance. I have an escrow account at the bank.

It turned out that the other car had faulty brakes and the other drive was even cited but driving an unsafe vehicle. When we notified SF they stated that they would look at the other vehicle to do an investigation. The next communication we were told that the other driver was being uncooperative, and that we would need to go after the owner of the vehicle as they were unable to prove the faulty brakes after inspection. And that we should go after the repair shop, as well as the fact that other driver was not helpful that they were going to cancel their insurance leaving us out to dry for any out of pocket expenses as well as pain and suffering now being experienced. Needless to say, it has been a nightmare and seems to be exactly what others on this string have experienced. Time to call a lawyer. They could not reach their client and so no decision would be made even though there was a police report and an estimate with a State Farm Body Shop in their file!!!! But when I contacted them over the phone, the representative said she had the paperwork in the file and the liability was on them and that she would not send me the check only to the Body Shop.

If I wanted the check mailed to me, I would have to go to an adjuster and he would give me a cash payment... I am sure more like a reduced payment!!!! I think I am going to hire a lawyer. We were rear-ended by another vehicle and pushed into another car. When I called our State Farm Agent, he told me that we needed to file a claim with the responsible driver's insurance. We did this and moved the vehicle to a body shop. A few days later, we learned that the combined damage to our vehicle and the car in front of us exceeded the responsible lady's liability limits (she carried the state minimum requirement). We told our State Farm agent and he reluctantly filed the claim. Then they told us the rental car we were in since day one was not covered for the first few days because we didn't "mitigate the cost". I would have agreed had we not called our agent at the accident scene and told not to file a claim with our company. We have since learned that State Farm agents lose some of their commission if a claim is filed, even if it is not our fault. Several months later after canceling our policy with State Farm, the agent had the nerve to call us and ask us to come back to him.

In mid November 2013, a truck driven by a company insured by State Farm Insurance supposedly lost his brakes and caused an eight car accident. It has been almost two months with no resolution in the horizon. Our Dodge Ram Truck was rear ended, tail gate ruined, bumper ruined, right side body damage, and the truck doesn't drive straight due to undercarriage damage. After pressing State Farm, they finally sent an inspector to see the truck as it sits in a parking lot. We were again ignored, and after our insurance agent contacted them, I received the second phone call from them in almost 60 days. I was told the inspection was done, and their initial figure was about $1400. $1400???!!!!! A scratch costs almost that much in a body shop today.

THEN I was told that while we were absolutely innocent, her client may be innocent too, because his brakes were recently repaired, so they are "investigating". Investigating? 60 days??!! When I asked why it would take so long to identify the problem (which should have been able to be completed in a couple of hours), and how much longer would it take, I was told, "We're working on it". THEN I was told that they may not be liable, and we would have to pursue the owner of the truck or the company that repaired it. I said, "I believe the insured paid his premiums for you to pay me in the event of an accident, and that State Farm has a division whose job it is to recoup their costs if someone else was responsible."

She agreed, but still refuses to pay us for the accident, until "further investigation". She suggested that I go through MY insurance company, who could then come after them to be reimbursed. I asked why, in the same manner, couldn't she pay for the damage caused by her insured and then seek reimbursement from the repair shop who caused the damage. Again, no satisfactory answer. It appears State Farm is dogging their obligation in an effort to have all parties involved go through their own insurance companies, and then "lose the claim". I have never, ever seen or been a part of such blatant disregard of accepting responsibility.

I ask my agent about in drive program to save on insurance because I did not drive my vehicle much. He said a person could save up to 60 percent and not any more than I drive I could probably save that much. After a year of free in drive because first year is free then you pay 5 dollars a month for it 60 year total. You can access your in drive account to see how you are doing. They rate you on breaking, speed mileage, turns and time of day. Well I got a and b's for all except for my turns - they were c plus which a Jeep Wrangler will make a real sharp turn and to get out of the subdivision I live in. Roads are narrow and you have to turn sharp. I only put 1,123 miles on it. In one year according to my account I had already saved 150 dollars that I never saw off my bill and that my total estimated discount would be 192 for the year.

Well my bill was 11 dollars less than my last one 6 months ago. They only gave me 24 dollars discount on my bill for the in drive and it cost 30 to have it. The whole thing is a joke. I cancelled it and am sending it back. I live in the country and if I did not drive my Jeep for a week, they would send me an email saying they can not detect it and it was not in vehicle. When I called them, they said I had to drive it at least 15 minutes a week so they could pick it up because they use Verizon to locate it and that don't work where I live. So in all, the In Drive program will only do you good the way I see it if you never drive your vehicle but yet they will tell you you are getting a discount but you will never see it on your bill. So don't waste your time. Other than that, they have treated me really good on any claims I have ever turned in.

Need I repeat the roads were slick and although my following distance was doubled or even tripled, I still slide. No airbags were deployed and my vehicle received far more damage than his (adding that I can't even open my driver door over an inch). Also no injuries. So finally when I urge for an answer I'm told that the incident was entirely my fault. No 50/50 like stated. 'I' was driving too fast and didn't have control of my vehicle. All this false information based solely on statements and guesses. No investigation into the police report (I had to send them MY copy that I purchased for them to actually look at it) or anything else for that matter. After telling them what the situation was supposed to be, they said the checking account number they had on file was different than the one I gave them. Mind you, they took out my original premium from the exact same account. Each time I spoke to one of the agent's Reps, they would promise to look into it and call me back, but never would.

I assumed that because I never heard back from them, and because I never received a statement, that they had resumed taking the payments out of my checking account as I'd requested. Well, tonight I noticed that that they have not been taking the premiums out and that my insurance has expired. I AM LIVID...and that's putting it mildly. After reading some of these posts, it looks as if State Farm does this to a lot of people and that a class action suit might be in order. How 'bout it? Any takers? The second month Jeff Zegmant (Agent) took more out of my account than my premium amount. I caught the transaction and called his office to get this corrected. Jeff Zegmant refused to contact me and correct the withdraw amount. I sent him a fax telling him not to deduct money from my account till the over payment was adjusted on my policy. He refused to respond. I then made the adjustment myself and sent a letter to Dallas Texas State Farm office with the breakdown of the overpayment. I sent a check for the difference. I got a letter of cancelation on my auto. Three days later got a reinstatement letter of my insurance. I called Jeff Zegmants office. Told them I had no reason for being canceled or reinstated. Jeff again never returned a call.

On Christmas eve I called state farm. They informed me that I was canceled and was not being reinstated. But they cashed my check for the payment I sent. Jeff never called me to this day. It is almost a bait and switch. The brought me in at a lower rate than American family and once I changed Insurance my premium went up for no reason. Jeff's office told me If I didn't add my wife on my auto policy I would be canceled. I said my wife doesn't drive my truck. She is a Missouri Auto dealer and drives on a D-tag and carries her own Insurance. Jeff's office said that I had to add her and my premium would go up or they wouldn't cover my truck.

All I can tell anyone is DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS AGENT (JEFF ZAGMANT). State Farm to this day has done nothing. I called filed a complaint and it did no good. It seems that State Farm allows its agents to screw consumers over and take money from people that they don't owe. Do not give State Farm Access to your account. If you do always make sure you watch the amount they take. Don't trust your State Farm Agent. He definitely No A GOOD NEIGHBOR. Don't do ACH withdraw. On the day before Thanksgiving November 27, 2013 as my wife was leaving a Personal Care facility in our 2013 Toyota Camry Hybrid, another driver (while backing from parking) struck the rear bumper of our vehicle as she drove past. The other driver was insured with State Farm. The other driver was operating a rental vehicle and produced his State Farm policy. The following Monday after picking up the accident report I called State Farm and received a claim number. Two weeks later after not hearing anything further from State Farm I again called and their representative explained to me that the delay was caused because State Farm and the rental agency were disputing who was responsible for the claim. I advised the representative that I would just turn everything over to my insurance and let them handle it.

Now I find out that I will be responsible to pay both the deductible and also the rental fees upfront then get reimbursed after my insurance "subjugate" State Farm. I called State Farm and explained to the representative that I didn't have the money to pay all those upfront cost and after checking he said that it had been deemed that their insured was at fault but that was their rules.

I am more than just a little angry, I am disgusted that they don't care if I am inconvenienced or not. They have put us in a bind and all I can do now is write letters of complaints and not be compensated for my losses (gas for having to take wife to work and pick her up, taking my mom to wound care etc.) since the car is scheduled for repair on Monday 12/30/13 and we will be down from two vehicles to one.

I have been with State Farm since I am sixteen. 30 years. I have been accident free for 25, no tickets and have been given all their wonderful discounts for years. My parents for 45 years. I have never used my insurance. I have been quoted over $90.00 per month for 7 or 8 years now. I have always called and asked this premium is unreal.. Let's re-look at it. They told me every time that is the cheapest and you are completely covered deductible and don't ever worry. My premium was quoted today by two separate State Farm Insurance as being $65.00 and $72.00 for the same rate. I received a phone call from one of the gals who informed me that it's unethical for another agent to quote. I simply need to transfer the files to them and they should never re-quote ever!!! It is a code of standards between agents. I was quoted literally 23 dollars different per month by two separate agents. I called because after 25 years I was under the understanding I had rental car reimbursement. I was informed I don't have that in my policy. My car threw a rod, I knew I was not covered for that. I was sideswiped by a car for my first accident in 30 years and I called for a rental car and was informed I was not covered for rental car reimbursement for being swiped.

In talking to the two new quotes, these quotes both include that coverage and one of the newer agents says my policy looks as if it is quoted for a 26-year-old male driver. Remember I have no tickets, no wrecks. Corporate is looking into why there is such a huge discrepancy in quotes and has made it clear that all quotes should match across the board. My agents of 25 years have increased my policy. Never in the past 4 years of owning my current car has it declined or have they offered me the rates that I have just quoted.

STATE FARM underwriter just informed one of the girls who quoted me the $23.00 saving per month that I am not allowed to have a better price because I am an old existing customer and that those rates are only for new people!!!!!!!!!!!! Wtf!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been there 20 years accident free and my agent liars have kept me there, not even giving me the option to bid shop. Acting as if they have been doing me favors for 20 years. Now that I have a claim, I find all of this out that I have been over paying a premium that I feel was quoted wrong, way overpriced for 4 years now. They are upset with me for getting a quote.

The girl here in Salt Lake City has advised me they cannot keep their quote. Mind you two of them have the same and my ** agents have known this for years and have charged me $93.00 for an accident free record. This is FRAUDULENT. American Family has quoted me the best prices, the same as the new quotes from State Farm. I will be taking my business there. I have my homeowner's and general liability through them...My premium with them is $71.00... Explain how when you have been a customer for 30 years, paid all of your premiums and you learn that they will give a brand new client a savings of $23.00 but their current and loyal consumer they shaft and make pay more.

This is going on in every State Farm contract. If you are currently with them, call and get a bid from another agent. They will not allow you to save money but only transfer your current file and tell you, their quote is the same as what they will quote you. You are all paying extra 20 dollars per month or more for 20- and 30-year-old policies instead of the current market rate!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am going to try and get a man named Gebhart in SLC to do a segment on this and to make all older policy holders aware, they are lying to you about 10-year free accident rates and more. You're being charged more than getting a new company for the same price.

The following facts is what happened to me because I used a part of the policy that I paid for. I have been with State Farm a long time and cannot believe they would put me in this position. I had a vehicle that broke down so I called State Farm and they told me I had towing in my policy. I, and this is the killer part of this factual review, asked them if using towing will affect my policy and was told no. Well, I was towed and then car broke down again. I called them and asked them how many times can towing be used AND STATE FARM TOLD ME, "THIS IS IN YOUR POLICY. YOU CAN USE IT AS MANY TIMES AS YOU NEED."

After utilizing the towing which is paid every month... I must stress I was never late in all the years I had a policy with State Farm on a payment. Never had a claim until I used towing. The minute I USED THE TOWING, THEY DROPPED ME. When you get the policy, they get you to get towing but caution if you use it... You will be dropped!!

After reading so many not-favorable reviews of State Farm auto insurance, I thought it only fair to explain what a positive experience I've had with SF. I've been a customer for over 30 years, and have been hit by deer on 3 occasions, and once I was rear-ended while at a complete stop. In all 4 accidents, State Farm has been very cooperative, and great to deal with. I was referred to local auto-body shops that did a great job on my car, and claims were settled very promptly. Because of the great service that I've experienced, I've never tried to call other competitors to do a price comparison. Therefore I don't know if their prices are fair or not, but I think I'm paying a reasonable amount for great service. Having a good, local agent might be a good incentive for me to not look elsewhere.

My wife was hit by another State Farm policy holder. The policy holder that hit her did not have enough coverage to pay for the damages he caused to my car and my wife. State Farm used my underinsured coverage to handle my claim. They did everything they could to low-ball what they had to pay out. They lied about NADA value of our new car stating it should not bother us because we also had GAP insurance. SF went out of its way to cheat the GAP carrier. Then they went even further to cheat my wife out of what they owed her for her injuries. Still fighting to settle the claim. Can't wait to get it into court. I'm going with Allstate from here on out.

My renewal bill has been raised over $600/year because I had an accident while parking and hit a damaged curb. They overpaid for the repair and I had no say. The car is 2013 and "had" to be repaired at dealership or I would not be covered by "new car Warranty". I spoke to my agent and waited 3 days for a response "why" the increase was so much? Replied that Insurance went up about $100 and they "removed" my Safe driver discount.... $500 plus???? You would think after paying for full coverage for 35 plus years they would have bent over backwards to keep me. I will be cancelling my insurance as soon as it runs out.

Roughly 3 weeks ago, I was in an accident. Unfortunately, the vehicle was towed to a location that could not perform the repairs. I then called State Farm roughly 1-week later. I informed them that the bill MUST be paid in full before being released to a shop that will pick-up and pay for the fees. Unfortunately, State Farm failed to pay these bills. As a result, the shop is now charging an extra $400 because it sat for another 9 days while State Farm drags their feet. When State Farm learned of this, they refused to pay the difference claiming that this was not the agreed upon date.

I am not sure why I have been paying this company all this time or for what; however, this was clearly money wasted on nothing and as a result, I have poorly spent my money on another company that has continued to scam customers. Please be smart & DO NOT make the same mistake I did putting your hard-earned money & faith into one more company that will attempt to scam their way out of bills they are required to pay. OnStar sent an email saying insurance companies' rates could be discounted for OnStar subscribers. I inquired and State Farm had a program that would discount rates. They would use OnStar to check my speeding and my safe driving, and I would receive a discount as long as I practiced this. I just got my bill from State Farm and it "increased" by 33%! $80 to be exact. I called, and was told that OnStar revealed my mileage to State Farm and I had gone over 7500 miles. I was discounted as long as the mileage remained low. Not, and I repeat, Not because of my driving skills.

I feel this is a misrepresentation by the name of the program as well as an infringement on my privacy by State Farm using OnStar as a tool to increase auto insurance rates. When I called State Farm, I was told it was a "small" increase to my rates and there was nothing I could do. I discontinued being involved in this program and the girl laughed. She said she never signed up for it herself.

I have been with SF for over 15 years. My recent experience with them is absolutely shameful. We added my 18-year-old daughter and her car in July. Our premium went from $120 to $185 (rounding up to make it easier to follow). Yesterday I received a bill in the mail (I pay monthly, not out of my checking account) for $401!!! When I called my agent's office (John **), his staff told me SF just now caught up with the premium change. WHAT??? Then when I told her that the increase in premium was not what the staff had told me it was going to be ($70), she stated, "Well, I don't have a crystal ball". I told her then I shouldn't have been quoted a price change at all.

After a heated discussion, I finally received a call from my agent himself who told me that there was nothing he could do about the premium increase, that if I was to continue making monthly payments, I'd have to pay the $401 for the next 3 months to get caught up and my premium would now be $277. He also told me because my payments don't come out of a checking account, I was being charged DOUBLE and money was set in reserve. I have $181.77 in 'reserve' that I can't touch. He also said that if I agreed to have the premiums come out of my checking account, I'd only have to pay $360 this month and my following months' payments would be the current premium of $276. So how does this all make sense?!?!? He couldn't give me a straight answer.

My concern is if I agree for withdrawal from my checking account, how can I be assured what is taken out will actually be $276? And how is it that if I don't have auto withdrawal I have to pay $401 for the next 3 months but only have to pay $360 once to get caught up WITH auto withdrawal? All sounds fishy and I have lost trust in this company and my agent. I am looking around for a new insurance company.

I have filed a claim with Iowa State Insurance Commission Advocate. It states: I have received a notice on non-renewal, based on 3 claims:

    * 05-26-13: flash flood resulted in storm sewer back up into basement--DISPOSITION: This loss was not covered.
    * 04-19-10: Wind/Hail/Ice DISPOSITION: $649.30.

    * 04-06-10: Wind/Hail/Ice DISPOSITION: $3,683.09.

These dates are not the actual dates of loss. On 2/25/10 & 03/02/10, FEMA declared Iowa a disaster area due to Severe Winter Storms. The State Farm investigator was only here 1 time and decided to split the claims out as was done. On 07/02/13, there was again a disaster declaration that included Poweshiek County "...in the area affected by severe storms, tornadoes, and flooding during the period of May 19 to June 14, 2013." Here in Grinnell, we incurred a flash flood during the early morning of 05/26/13 that flooded many basements. I had 30 of water in my basement.

All three of the claims used by State Farm as reasons to terminate my coverage occurred in conjunction with a FEMA Disaster Declaration. They are all weather related. They do not all occur in a 3-year time span. The time span from the first to the last is actually 37 months, 20 days. I have been with State Farm for more than 20 years, carrying both renter's/homeowner's and auto coverage. Upon receiving the non-renewal notice, 15 days later I received another letter from them denying my request for sewer back-up coverage and stating that my policy would go back to what it had been prior to my request. Hmm, sounds like I still have my homeowner's insurance, right? I call my agent and they checked - nope, I don't have homeowner's insurance. My agent filed an appeal for me - denied.

I'm in my mid 60s, disabled, and have lost my mom, my husband and 2 pets in the last 15 months. Add in a trashed furnace and water heater, along with a lot of possessions in that flood. I'm trying to hold it together here, but I really hope State Farm gets enough consumer complaints to trigger some kind of class action against them.

I need someone to explain what Pay Medical Coverage is and how it works. I pay $52.00 for $25000 coverage. My Daughter has this coverage too and the problem is with my Daughter. My Daughter was in an accident, was rear-ended, pushed 60 feet through a fence, knocked down a concrete pole and the vehicle who hit her continued another 80 feet and hit another vehicle doing considerable damage.

I received a letter from State Farm that my Daughter had $5000 of coverage on a policy she is paying for. I called State Farm and stated that Geico is paying all medical claims. They stated to me that even though the other insurance is covering medical, I should turn in the bills to State Farm and they will pay too sending a check to my daughter. It's a policy you are paying for extra coverage and that she has a $5000 coverage. It is the same as having hospital coverage and buying another policy that pays you cash as long as you are hospitalized.

My agent states, "Since Geico is paying her medical bills, why do you want State Farm to send you a check? None of my other clients send in claims if the other insurance company is paying medical." Because as State Farm stated, it is added insurance. They started paying a year ago and now stopped. My Daughter went to Africa as a missionary for one year to help and her symptoms from the accident weren't serious and it didn't stop her from going. She came back several months early, arm going numb. Didn't think the accident contributed to her problems until she told me. Sometimes whiplash takes days, weeks, months or even years before injury becomes worse.

Wrote a letter to Geico about why she waited several months before going back to doctor. They accepted the explanation and is continuing to cover her medicals. State Farm stopped paying medical to my Daughter when the question came up. Geico is already paying medical. Being she is paying for uninsured motorist insurance already, should not these payments continue even though Geico is paying? I have State Farm for over 35 years and never had a problem before. Thank you.

The driver at fault drove into ongoing traffic, crossing into oncoming traffic at 75 mph and hit my stepdaughter's Honda (she was driving the speed limit of 40 mph). Seeing him appear, knowing a huge impact was coming, I grabbed my little dog, cradled her in my knees for protection, looked at my beautiful stepdaughter thinking it could be my last look at her and prayed for the best! Luckily, she and my dog were ok, but the major impact was on my side, and though the car was on fire, I could not get out of the car. My left leg would not support me. I was taken to the Georgetown SC hospital and they crated only my femur bone and sent me home. At the time, I had no medical insurance. I knew I had an ACL knee tear. No orthopedic doctor would see me because I had no medical insurance. It would be 8 weeks before I could return to my home in Raleigh, NC.

The car was evaluated a total loss, and the pictures verify the collision on the passenger side and even a huge indentation of my knee on the dashboard where it hit with tremendous IMPACT! Because there was no medical documentation of my knee injury, State Farm has stood firm on their offer to buy my medical expenses plus $150 for my pain and inconvenience! I haven't been in a wreck in 30 years and so I am NO ambulance CHASER! The witness behind us, a chaplain driving a larger size BMW sedan, said had it NOT been for the precision of his auto's brakes he would have hit us from behind and it probably would have seriously injured us or it could have been fatal.

I am appalled by State Farm's attitude, and am now being told by EMS that they are going to start taking their fees out of my Social Security retirement check my bill, since the case has not been settled! Watching State Farm's continuously playing TV ads to the tunes of millions of dollars is sickening to me! On Aug. 11, 2010, my new (pristine white) 2013 Toyota Corolla was jacked of 4-17" alloy wheels and deep scratches on both front tire bumper covers. The car was sitting on bricks. I called the Houston pd and received a report.

I called the State Farm 1-800# and was asked where I wanted to send my car for repairs; then I was given Enterprize rental located next to the repair shop. The adjuster came out on Tuesday, the following day, wrote up a Jim Crow estimate for undersized 15" tires, told me I was going to use his vendor who would come out to the apartment, replace tires on the car, and I could drive the car with 15" tires back to Austin. The adjuster did not add body damage estimate because he said it wasn't listed on his work order, even though he took pictures of the missing wheels and the scratches.

Long story short, my car has been sitting in a garage not repaired by State Farm insurance company because they substitute Jim Crow laws for black policy holders to save State Farm money. State Farm insurance company owes me compensatory and punitive damages for intentionally inflicting pain and suffering, for racially profiling me and trying to intimidate me into accepting Jim Crow injustice.

I've been a customer of State Farm for at least 12 years. I have car insurance, life insurance and homeowner's insurance. In the last 12 years, I've attempted 2 claims and State has been there for me exactly zero times. My first claim was a couple years ago, approximately in 2006. It was March. There was an ice storm and I was run off the road. I called my agent who had the Claims department call me. My car, I should add, was not drivable. The Claims department told me that it would be 2 1/2 to 4 weeks before someone could even come out to look at my car to get an estimate and tell me whether they would actually cover the claim. In that 2 1/2-4 weeks if I rented a car and my claim was not covered, they would not pay for the rental either.

I had 2 options: 1) Leave claim open, pay for rental to get to work, pay for car to be stored at garage until estimate could be obtained or pay to tow home and back to garage and chance claim not being covered. Or 2) Close claim, have work done that day out of pocket. I had no choice but to close claim and pay the $3200 in repairs on my own. Thanks for nothing, State Farm!

Now fast forward to July 2013 in Northeastern PA. It rained heavily end of June and more than half of July. Around this time,I came home to find a tiny pond in my first floor bathroom, water literally raining from a vent in the ceiling. My husband went to investigate and found the roof in the cubbyhole of my Cape Cod style house soaked. I called my agent's office ASAP that Monday - it rained all weekend and my ceiling began to sag, bathroom began to smell of mildew, my bathroom felt and still feels wet all the time. So almost 2 weeks later, a claim person calls me while I'm driving my son's preschool group home from a play date so I couldn't answer the phone. However not 10 minutes later while in the driveway of a child's house, I called back and got no answer.

For the next week, I called the claim agent every single day, several times a day trying to catch this woman in her office, left messages, etc. No call back. Finally I press zero to speak with someone else. So here I am at the end of the month on the phone with a guy who begins his conversation seeming to imply I'm dragging my feet in closing the claim (what!!!), then proceeds to speak to me as if I'm interfering with something more important, and I can't understand half the things he is saying because he's muffled (I imagine he was pinching the phone between his head and shoulder and his cheek got in the way). Anyhow I hang up with him and call my agent's office right away. I speak with a woman in his office who tells me that they aren't connected to the Claims department so she can't really help me but suggested I call the original claims lady back and leave another message to call her immediately ((this was another Friday) on Monday.

Claims lady Doesn't call me at all! So I call her again repeatedly now leaving much more assertive messages. I get a letter in the mail that this lady has failed to reach me (basically blaming me!) although she has only called me once total! So another Thursday comes around and my agent's office calls me and basically says the same thing (Why aren't you on top of this claim type call?). It took all my energy not to scream at her that I've been basically begging this claims lady to call me back so I could understand why I needed a plumber for a roof leak! Now, my agent's office says they'll call her and tell her to handle my call. I tell my agent to please tell her NOT to call at a specific time because I CANNOT answer the phone as I am driving children.

Monday, 3 days later this woman calls me at the exact time I CANNOT speak to her, REALLY?!?! Why? I stopped the car and called her right back on the side of the road, did not answer. Meanwhile it's raining, raining and raining! So that week, I call my agent's office again and am told the person I want to speak to is at lunch and will call me back, nope! The next day, I call my agent's office at a different time and this person is on lunch again but will call me back when she gets back at 1 pm. Well almost 4 pm she calls me. I'm fuming. I pay these people religiously and on time every single month and all my accounts are auto and I'm speaking to them about more policies and more coverage which means more money to them!

So finally she calls me and has different lady from the claims office call me back. This woman talks to me as if I'm stupid but finally sets up for an estimator to come out. Of course I have to wait another week and it continues to rain! So, estimator comes out, says the claim is partly covered. Apparently, my roof was built wrong. The roofing company failed to seal a pipe so that's not damage. That's "regular wear" but the damage it caused is covered. So I have to wait ANOTHER week to find out how much is covered, etc.

Today, 8/28/2013, a heavy rain, flood watch day... I get a packet explaining that I'm covered for $1119.00 and the estimated work is about $1600. But since I have depreciation and a $1000 deductible, I'm getting a check for $119 to cover the work! What!?!?!? Not even 10% of the cost of estimated work will be covered! So basically, I spent the last 2 months begging, taking time out of my day every day to try to force the insurance company to do what they "promise" on their million dollar commercials only to find that my house is more and more damaged as it rains while waiting. I'm angry, wasting my time for them to tell me that my insurance is going to go up because I now have a claim and they aren't even covering the paint needed to complete the job.

So I'm stuck with paying for it out of pocket and it (with my luck) will likely be thousands of dollars. Ha ha, you laugh and say but Monica if the construction people think it's going to cost more, then call insurance before work is completed, so you say! However, none of the contractors I've had out will open the ceiling to estimate damage without written permission from insurance to open the ceiling. Every one of them said they will not be on the hook if they open the ceiling and the insurance company says they shouldn't have which I explained to the insurance company 3 different times! Thank you for NOTHING, State Farm. I have no choice but to close the claim because the only good it's doing me is increasing my premium. I guess that's what they aim for, huh.

In addition to all these troubles, I guess when you go 12 years without meeting your actual agent even though you've been at his office at least 30 times, it should have been a sign it was never about taking care of me but taking my money. I am now awaiting a call from my agent to close the claim and in search of a new insurance company.

Wrong by law is wrong by law. The statues are specific. You can’t pull forward and stop into on-going traffic, and you certainly can’t pull back in reverse across 2 lanes just to pull into a driveway so your groceries in your trunk are closer to your front door. But it is my fault being in my lane minding my own business and getting t-boned. If it happened to one of their agents I am sure they would say it was there fault .Well I can fix my car and hire a great attorney. She never did her stop and ran into my front and back tire and right passenger side causing injuries to my right arm and neck. When we came to share info, I found out she had also State Farm. Remind you, I haven't had a car accident in 10 yrs so I don't know what to do. She did not looked injured.

Long story short, my claim was denied because she lied and we had the same claim adjuster making all this a conflict of interest. Since I didn't call the police but I placed a police report the day after, no attorney wants to take my case. Now my car is not working well and they are giving me the runarounds. I am tired, mad, angry, sad because I cannot get the help I need. I complained to the State of CA Insurance commissioner officer and just got a letter saying there's an investigation. But meanwhile I'm still injured and dealing with all this State Farm mess. So please do not get them. So far 2 attorneys won't take my case and just feel hopeless. This is not fair that I'm paying for someone else's mistake. On another note, does anyone have an idea on what I can do? Or who can I call. I do not want to keep paying for a car that is not functioning properly and feel angry that they're just playing stupid. Any advice?

I was heading north on I-390 just before exit 15A. I was following a truck when bottles of water and empty bottles fell off his truck hitting the front of my SUV damaging the grill and bumper. Happened on July 26, 2013. I called in and reported the incident. I went to the office of Steven ** on July 29, 2013 because the office was closed. When I got back from picking my daughter up at the airport coming home on leave from the Marines and was referred to Devin ** team leader which I explained the entire accident to him that a sheriff came to the scene of the accident and wrote a report, gave me a card with the incident report number on it. I gave it to Devin at the State Farm office. I have called several times to get an answer. They give me claims office number and they say they did not get the report and asked me to get the report.

I called back to Devin and explained how to get the report from the sheriff office in Rochester. Now to explain about DOT Federal Trucking Regulations, Your load is to be secured at all times and your door is to be shut and secured when traveling down the Highway. I believe that if a State Trooper arrived at the scene of the accident tickets would have been issued for not complying with DOT Regulations which is the State Trooper's area of expertise. Why is this complaint taking so long? What is the problem? And additional complaints should be filed against Police Officers acting on accidents with DOT regulation violations out of their area of expertise. I want some action fast and responsibility from insurance agent. Devin has the card with the Incident report. WHO DO I HOLD RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS TAKING SO VERY LONG?

Last summer I got T-boned by a teenager driving her mom's car and who was visiting Kansas City. Luckily no one was hurt and luckily (or so I thought at the time)... she had insurance. When I mentioned my accident to my fellow Officers at Leavenworth and told them I was glad she had insurance a few laughed because I mentioned State Farm... The phrase, "Don't hold your breath" was used a few times. At the time I will admit that I was pleased with the way they handled everything... not as expeditiously as USAA (my insurance) but oh well. Repairs were made, back driver side door was replaced... and I thought nothing of their warnings until a few weeks ago. The interior locking mechanism for the door, a new part and one that had never failed in any of my doors before went bad. I use this car for work and drive to and from the base by myself... Rarely do I carry passengers.

So I called the repair shop that called State Farm so they would approve the replacement part purchase and installation. The repair shop called them and left messages 4 times until State Farm finally got back with me and told me that the part was no longer under warranty; it was normal wear and tear. I argued that the other locks (not damaged in the accident) did not go bad (original and working for 7 years) and that their part went out in 15 months and that they promise a lifetime warranty on the repairs. No luck.

So folks... If you get your car repaired under the "insurance protection" of this "honest" company... well just hope and pray something will go bad quickly... I would hate that something like your brake system, your steering, etc which you use normally, might go bad. It will take some work but I should be able to fix the part myself, but you don't want to be going down the road and have the "normal wear and tear" bug hit you.

They repaired my vehicle $134.00 short of totaling it.

Now I have a car that has no value. I can't sell it or trade it in. This is how State Farm treats a loyal customer after 30 years and spending $150,000.00. Everyone needs to know what State Farm has done to me and my family. Please DO NOT use State Farm for your personal or business insurance needs. On July 12, 2013, my husband was hit from behind and pushed into the vehicle in front of him. Immediately dash lights came on signaling the air bag system, the seat belt system and the engine service light. The seat belt was broken and no longer retractable. Both front and rear bumpers and a front bar needed to be replaced. At the repair shop we spent 2 weeks arguing with State Farm over what needed to be considered as a result of the accident.

They finally agreed to run a diagnostic on the engine which proved inconclusive to any damage being the result of the accident. The light has been reset and we now wait to see if it will come on again. In addition, the repair shop was unable to reset the air bag warning system and discovered a problem with sensors. Upon notification, State Farm refused to cover the repair, stating the sensors were under recall. My car is currently at the dealership for investigation. There is no recall regarding the air bag system on our car.

Apparently the SRS control unit has been damaged, but cannot determine the cause based on current information. However, all warning system lights were illuminated with the accident and not before. The car has been meticulously maintained since we purchased new from the dealership in 2005. There were no existing problems before the accident and now after a full month, we are being left with hundreds of dollars of repairs to pay on our own because State Farm denies responsibility.

I had State Farm many years ago, and I had no issues with them as I had no tickets, no accidents, etc. the entire time I had insurance with them. I just paid my payment and life went on. Then years later, I got divorced and switched to another insurance company that was cheaper. I have a relative with MS, and she recently asked me to move into her house to help her for a year, so I did. She has State Farm. I went into their local office with her and switched to them since they offered me a much cheaper payment under her household discounts, but paid for my own individual car insurance on my car. Not 3 weeks into the new policy with them they sent me a cancellation notice due to someone not giving them a driver in the household's information on someone who used to live with my relative, but he no longer does. There was no warning, no verifying it, nothing.

They sent me back a refund check for my payment and it was all done. I was cancelled just like that. I called the office and even spoke with the Agent himself and since someone did not verify it when they asked for it, my coverage was cancelled... Not my relative's policy who is responsible for it to begin with. She has all her coverages still active... I asked why am I being cancelled for something that has nothing to do with me, and I was not asked when signing-up about him? No one gave me a reason other than the information was not given, so I got cancelled. Now my insurance credit score on me is considered a High Risk, and I'm looking around for another car insurance companies which all are presenting me with triple the amount that I normally paid for the exact same coverage. This is wrong and after this experience I will not return to State Farm again.

Before the accident, my wife worked full-time as a nurse. Now we are reduced to living on public assistance, and my SSI disability checks... Sad... especially when you consider the fact that the "law" requires us to "maintain" insurance... For what purpose??? We've paid into the "government" and can barely get public assistance! Three weeks ago my daughter (who is also on the policy) was in a no-fault accident with another driver who had no insurance and was driving on a suspended license. I am still awaiting word from State Farm as to the status of my car. On their defense, they did have a problem retrieving the vehicle from a fraudulent tow company (which was later found out); however, it took them at least a week to get the vehicle. To date, I have found out no information about my vehicle and when and if it will be fixed or resolved. I have called my Claims Adjuster, unsuccessful in getting results and feel this process is taking to long.

To add insult to injury, when the accident first happened, I learned that I was not covered under the rental policy, which was never told to me by the original agent (who convinced me he could get me a lower rate, which was false). I also have renter's insurance with State Farm, and told the agent that if I was paying the extra expense of paying for renter's insurance why would I not have included the car rental in case of an accident. I further found that I did not actually have full coverage as the agent had informed, and have paid the cost renting a car until they decide to let me know what is going on.

I am highly upset and no one seems to give a damn! At this point, I'd like to know if there is any legal recourse toward State Farm and the Tow Company that towed my vehicle and held it hostage for more than 10 days because State Farm did not want to pay the bogus claim of a $1100 tow. I need help in getting this resolved and I would like to be reimbursed for all my travel fees I have paid thus far. I would not recommend State Farm to anyone.

It is deliberately, wrongful, and misleading for State Farm to file an auto claim that wasn't my fault, as a collision claim.

It is also deliberately, wrongful and misleading for State Farm to deny pain and suffering compensations to the passengers that were in my vehicle on July 2, 2013. This not at fault, auto accident is going to be on my record, as an at fault accident, if state Farm do not change my claim, which means wrongful points will be taken off my driver license. I, the Policyholder, should not have to pay my passengers out of my pocket, when it is State Farm's duty and contractual obligation not to refuse payment and prolong payments for a Legal Insurance claim, which is bad faith on State Farm's BEHALF.

Please Sign The Coming Soon Petition Against State Farm...

I had an accident. I was rear ended from behind. When I looked at my bumper I saw that the lady had knocked paint off my bumper, no dent, so being a good person, (GOOD NEIGHBOR as State Farm claim to be) I let her go, as well to find out that my car would not start and that there were other damages that had been done to my car from the accident.

Besides myself I had 4 more people in the car, 3 of them were children and the other was an adult, all relatives. They all suffer pain from the accident, which caused the children to not return to day care. They all took over the counter medications for their pain, but if their pain worsen, the kids, their mother and I will be going to the Doctor to seek medical care for pain, stiffness, as well as, soreness. The auto accident that was not my fault (not caused by me), have the children in fear. At times they can't sleep, they can't eat and they have nightmares because of the auto accident.

As for the adult that was in my car and do not live in my house, she had to pay extra for a sitter to keep her children, who was injured in my car, because they were unable to return to daycare due to body pain caused by the wreck, and she also had to pay the day care center for service, too. She during the time of the accident had a television in my car. Later the adult passenger, who was in my vehicle talked to Robbin **, who was handling the medical coverage and was willing to pay their doctor bills, (but at this time there were not any bills). Sometime after, I talked to State Farm Rep. Ronald **.

I was told by State Farm auto insurance Rep. Ronald ** that since I let the lady go, the automobile accident was my fault, and that my passengers are not entitle to pain and suffering from State Farm, but they are entitled to have their medical bills paid only because I have medical coverage. However when I asked him to send the submitted false statement in writing to me stating that the accident was blame on me, he held the line for a while before he said no. Surely, for State Farm to avoid, fully covering my claim and by State Farm Rep. Ronald ** falsely blaming the accident on me, means that State Farm will raise my insurance premiums.

Since Ronald ** mind was set on the accident being my fault, I asked him to give me the CEO name, phone number and I also asked him for the CEO secretary, name and phone number, he would not give it to me, he told me that he didn't know their names and numbers, which went on and on and on. I told him you mean to tell me, you don't know the CEO, name, he said again no. I said again, you mean to tell me that you don't know the CEO name. He then said wait. After that Ronald ** told me that the CEO name was Ed Rust. However I found that the CEO name was and appeared on the Internet websites, also as Edward B. Rust.

Then he told me that he could give me his supervisor name. I told him that I don't need your supervisor name, what I need is the manager name who, is over your supervisor. He told me that he could not give me the Manager name who, was over his supervisor, but again he said I can give you my supervisor name. When I gave in and said OK give me your supervisor name and number, he started to give me the runner around. He held the line for a while, before he told me his supervisor name. Finally I called his supervisor Russell ** and left a message along, with my phone number, on his machine, explaining what I was going through with State Farm claim Rep. Ronald **. Russell ** never returned my call, which was Monday July 8, 2013 and today is Friday July 12, 2013.

So, I called State Farm back and asked to file a Consumer Complaint. The man on the other end asked for my claim number. After I gave him my claim number, he gave me the wrong phone number **, but keep in mind I repeated the number to him to make sure I had written down the correct number. Since I was given the wrong number I called back. This time I talked to a lady. She also asked me for my claim number. I gave her my claim number and she connected me to a phone, which had a busy signal, without giving me the complaint number. So again, I called back and talked to another lady, but this time I did not give out my claim number, instead, I asked her again and again for the Consumer Complaint number, which is ** before it was given to me.

Finally I called the Consumer Complaint number and file a complaint against State Farm for the bad faith in which my claim was being handled by Ronald **, who has a nasty voice tone. I was told it would take two to three days before I hear from anyone. Well it has been over two days and I have not heard from anyone from State Farm. Afterward, I called the Corporate Office to speak to the CEO, Edward B. Rust. I got a machine, so I left a message explaining everything along with my phone number.

Later, a lady name Evelyn called me. She told me that she was calling from the Corporate Office, but for the reason by the sound of her voice, I thought I had talked to her before, which lead me to believe that she was not calling from the Corporate Office. Anyway, she then went on to say that they were going to contact Ronald ** Supervisor and have him call me, but whatever, Ronald ** supervisor, namely Russell ** says his decision, as to handling my claim is final, she repeated herself it will be final.

Evelyn went on to say that they don't get in disputes with Employees and Policyholders, but she said she was going to write him concerning my auto claim and she said that it would be in my favor. She reassured me that I will definitely here from Russell ** by Friday July 12, 2013. Well today is Friday July 12, 2013 and I have not heard from Russell ** and nor have I heard from anyone from State Farm. Keep in mind not only did Evelyn from the Corporate Office supposedly email him, I left Russell ** a telephone message on Monday July 8, 2013 and still I say I haven't heard from him. Although, we the victims have cooperated 100% with stated Farm, we should not have to continue to try and contact State Farm on an ongoing basic to settle this prolonging claim, they don't have to contact me for my premiums.

My auto insurance coverage consisted of: Liability, Medical Payments, Collision, Comprehensive, Uninsured Motor vehicle, car Rental, Emergency Road Service, use of none owned cars, Loss of Hearing, Physical Damage, Death Dismemberment and Loss of Sight .

This wreck and State Farm Claim Rep. Ronald ** have caused me, as well as 4 people with injuries, who were in my vehicle during the accident to go through emotional and physical stress. This accident was not my fault therefore you should not blame me to gain profit by raising my insurance premiums. It is bad faith on State Farm part to not pay or to prolong pain and suffering claims to the victims of an auto accident, who are covered by State Farm Insurance. I should not have to pay my passengers for their pain and suffering when I have State Farm Full Coverage Insurance, on my Vehicle.

Now, in knowledge of false information is defined, as being actual knowledge, deliberate ignorance of the truth or falsity of the information, or reckless disregard of the truth.

State Farm is a Mutual Company (it is owned by its Policyholders, it doesnt have shares that trade publicly) which means without Policyholders, State Farm would not EXIST.

A Consultant Firm whom I won't name at this particular time, court records showed that State Farm hired the Firm as a consultant. The Consultant Firm developed methods for companies to become more profitable by paying out less in claims according to Videotaped evidence presented in Court. Below are the Consultant Firm Methods for the Company: When a Policyholder files a claim, first make a low offer, if a Policyholder (customer) protests or hires a lawyer the company should fight back. The Consultant Company slides, which were presented in Court can discourage Policyholders (claimants) by delaying settlement and stalling court proceedings.

By postponing payments insurance companies can hold money longer and make more on their investments and often wear down Policyholders (clients) to the point of dropping a claim. By paying less to its Policyholders will lifted their income. Town hall meetings with adjusters have been held to urge them to pay less to Policyholders.

No Policyholder should ever have to go through something like this from any Insurance company. I pay my premium for full coverage Auto Insurance monthly and for State Farm to do business in a bad faith way is very unprofessional on their part. This type of doing business gives State Farm a bad name. The lie, as to I was at fault and the denied payments of this Legitimate, pain and suffering claim is BAD FAITH on State Farm's BEHALF.

In my opinion, to avoid fully covering my claim completely, State Farm Rep. Ronald ** falsely blamed the accident on me and said I was at fault, which means State Farm will raise, again, I say my Insurance Premiums. This should have been resolved in a timely manner.

On Monday July 15, 2013, I finally received a call from Russell **. Russell ** answer was no, I don't know if your Insurance will go up. His answer was no, I cannot give you anything in writing stating that your insurance won't go up. His answer was no, I cannot give you anything in writing stating that the accident won't be charge to you and his answer was no, I cannot pay pain and suffering to your passengers. He went in silent mode, which means he did not answer me, when I addressed to him that Ronald ** told me that the accident was charge to me, will be on my record, and my premium will go up. He also went in silent mode when I addressed the baby sitter expenses, day care expenses, as well as, the car seats and the passenger, television set that was in my car.

However, after we continued to go back and forth with one another, which was the the last time that we spoke to one another, Russell **, through phone conversation told me that he will have to see about whether the passengers in my car are entitle to pain and suffering. As of this day I have not heard back from him.

I recalled about what Evelyn from Corporate Headquarters told to me, Mr. Russell ** decision, as to handling my auto accident claim is final, she repeated, it will be final, which was a truthful statement. Therefore whether wrong or right Russell ** decision is final, but I can't settle for wrongful decisions made by Russell ** and State Farm Executive Employees.

On July 15, 2013, after Russell ** and I had disagreed twice (because I stood up for myself), through phone conversations the rental car service was discontinued without warning. The next day the Rental car service called me, which was on July 16, 2013. The tone of the Rental car lady voice was in surprise mode after she realized that I had not been notified by State Farm to return the Rental. In my opinion according to State Farm consultant court records things like this happens when you speak up for yourself.

Of course the RENTAL CAR was set up from July 2, 2013 to July 16, 2013. Now I have to pay out of my pocket for an extra day of Rental in which I have a document in writing, stating, when the Rental service will end, July 16, 2013, which is today. I was also told by State Farm employee who set up the Rental for me, when the rental service was going to end, which was on July 16, 2013.

Anyway, I pick up my car today July 16, 2013, from the repair shop even though my auto claim has not been settled by State Farm.

Although my vehicle has been repaired the following things below, which are included in with the auto accident claim must be settled by State Farm. I want State Farm to rewrite the auto accident in a truthfully manner. Just because it is wrote up as I was hit from behind does not mean it won't be charge to me. According to Ronald ** the accident is charged to me and is my fault because I let the other vehicle go for knocking paint off my bumper afterwards to see that more damage was done to my car, as well. I want State Farm to not raise my Insurance Premiums, but how will I know, without taking State Farm word for it, after all in my opinion, premiums goes up more than pennies on a dollar without policyholders knowing why.

I want State Farm to settle the pain and suffering auto claim for my passengers and if possible for myself, as well. I want State Farm to reimburse me for the July 16, 2013 rental service. I want State Farm to reimburse the adult passenger baby sitter and day care expenses for the days that her children could not attend daycare, because of their injuries what the accident caused and at the same time, the adult passenger still had to pay day care expenses, too. I want State farm to replace the passengers, car seats and the television set that was also in my car.

    Factual facts:

Liability insurance-Body injuries is used to pay for the following: Medical bills, time lost from work, legal representation for injured parties, funeral expenses, long-term rehabilitation or nursing care and pain and suffering.

State Farm Claims Employees, Ronald ** and Russell ** have caused me, as well as the people with injuries, who were in my vehicle during the accident to go through emotional and physical stress.

In my opinion, with regard to bad faith, State Farm has demonstrated an element of dishonest, moral obliquity, and an ill will to support bad faith not only to me but to other, Auto Policyholders, Homeowners Policyholders, Rental Policyholders, Hurricane Policyholders, Tornado Policyholders, Storms Policyholders, Earthquakes Policyholders and Businesses Policyholders in the United States, and Canada, too, as well as, Policyholders all around the world. State Farm did everything they could to save money at my expense and on my loss. I asked questions and they gave me lawyer-like customer service reps that recited fine print and had no regard for my experience or time of need. A natural disaster sandstorm destroyed the paint on my car. I dropped the car off for repairs and didn't get it back for almost two months. The repair shop initially said the work would take 7-10 days. When I asked what the delay was about, they told me that State Farm did not approve all repairs. In order to try and save money, State Farm approved repair work incrementally.

On day one they denied a full repair. They try to short change the customer by giving the car back only partially repaired. If you don't accept the partial repair, they will take the car back and issue more payments for repair work, but each time you wait 2-3 business days for an appraiser to go visit the car before a check is issued which takes more time, before work is ever done. I waited 38 days for this process. They work in this way to save money at the customer's expense. They have customer service representatives that recite fine print like lawyers when you start digging and asking questions. They have no regard or concern for the customer, just profit.

I am a very intelligent and successful young man. I seek truth and honesty in everything I do. I expect the same in the insurance services I engage. I wanted to know why the insurance company I employ to protect me from this type of incident would leave me out in the cold and barrage me with harsh lawyer-like, cost saving customer service replies. I have called every supervisor and manager, all the way up to the CEO's office, Edward Barry Rust Jr. or Ed Rust Jr. as well as the executive he passed my phone call off to, Joshua **. They can both be reached at the State Farm Headquarters in Bloomington, IL at 3097666393.

No one cared about the customer's experience. The big executives act like they do, but then pass you off to a robotic, lawyer-esque "executive" customer service rep. State Farm exists for profit. In a major loss situation like this, they do everything they can to NOT pay out on your loss. When you are in a time of need, they will leave you out in the cold. If you ask questions, they give you lawyer-like customer service reps that recite fine print despite the customer's experience in a time of need. Don't trust State Farm.

I purchased a new 2013 Dodge Durango from a reputable dealer. I traded in my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland. I handed the dealer my State Farm Insurance Card and he did the necessary phone calls to the State Farm after hours number and I was told the new vehicle was insured and I had nothing to do until I received a packet in the mail with all the registration and the new tag information. All of the State Farm information for my new car was printed on the papers I received at the time of purchase.

Twenty days after I purchased the car, I took it out for the 4th time. As I was driving along the road, a deer came bounding out of the bushes and ran into the passenger side of my new car. It was a Sunday afternoon. I called my agent the first thing Monday morning and reported the accident. They told me they had no record of my getting a new car and trading the old one. They put in my claim and now State Farm tells me I was not insured and they refuse the claim. I have tried to talk to the agent and the after hours number and the claims representative, but I am not getting anywhere.

The dealer assures me I was insured but meanwhile my new vehicle is sitting on the porch with a big dent in the side. I have 6 vehicles insured with State Farm and have had this insurance for 36 years. After this incident is resolved, one way or the other, I will pull all 6 vehicles out of State Farm. I have received no satisfaction from my agent and many times can't even get them on the line. I am a very dissatisfied customer at this point.

They denied our claim stating, "We don't go by the police report, only by whatever the insured tells us." I'm sorry, what!? That's insane! Her "word" wins over our proof? Our police proof? We have had State Farm for 26 years. No major problems, until recently. In early February, we junked one of the vehicles on our policy and turned in the plates on that, and another vehicle which we were going to park for a while. All was done according to regulations. We then purchased 2 different vehicles and filled out all papers for coverage for these vehicles. Every time we get a bill, the old cars are still on it and the new cars are not. We have received 3 requests from the loan company for one of our cars, asking for verification that we have insurance on this car... State Farm keeps saying they have taken care of it, and they haven't.

We tried to file a claim for one of our cars because a rock hit it and chipped the paint, and State Farm did not have coverage on it, even though we are making payments on it and it's required by law. We have tried to speak with our agent, Matt **, and he is never in his office. I called corporate headquarters about this whole mess, and they seemed unconcerned. They said they have agents who aren't in their office for 6 months out of the year. I'm looking for a new insurance company.

Three months ago, I was rear ended by another driver who is also insured by State Farm. I drive a Hybrid, and the other driver was in a new Corvette. After I accidentally cut him off, the other driver chased me through road construction for 2 miles, passing me multiple times and braking in front of me. Then slowing down and waving wildly at me as he moved behind me only to race forward again, and finally rear ending me. I pulled over on the first side street and got out after he pulled up behind me and approached him to get his insurance information. The other driver rolls down his window when I get to him. And as I ask for his insurance info, he aims his chrome 1911 handgun at me and tells me to "get the ** back or he'll kill me". At which point I call the police.

By the time the cops get there, he has the gun sitting unholstered on the seat next to him and claims to have never pointed it at me. The cops say they can't do anything since it's his word against mine, and there were no witnesses. I contact State Farm, and they are so shocked and tell me to go to one of their collision shops and that everything will be handled, no problem.

Three months later, I finally get my bumper fixed. I took that long because their shop dropped the ball big time. When I pick up my car, I'm told I have to pay my deductible, which is weird since I was rear ended I wasn't expecting that. So I pay it figuring State Farm will reimburse me. I call them on the way home, only to discover that their "investigator", who is handling both claims and has never visited the accident scene has made a determination that both drivers are equally liable.

The Monday after I pick my car back up, I get a call from the rental company. State Farm has denied payment for the rental car I was given while my car was in the shop. So I call State Farm back and am told that since I'm liable, they won't pay for my rental car through the other drivers' insurance and that my full 100% coverage doesn't cover that. So I have to call the rental company back and have them charge my card for the rental. My Agent is "shocked" that I was found liable when I was rear ended, so are my co-workers, who are also all law enforcement. Oh did I forget to mention that? Yeah I'm federal law enforcement, but apparently my word isn't as good as the guy who rear ended me.

I was rear ended by a driver on highway 17 in Santa Clara County CA. Both myself and the other driver were insured with State Farm insurance. The other driver was completely at fault and admitted fault at the scene of the accident. I am a self-employed general contractor who pays for several insurances including commercial liability and workers compensation. The other driver hit us at approximately 40-50 mph. The truck that I was driving was full of tools and were thrown from the vehicle and were all over the highway and some were in the truck in front of me. This accident occurred on a Friday morning. By the following Monday, State Farm informed me that any injuries claimed as a result of the wreck by myself or the employee who was in my vehicle at the time of the wreck would go on my workers comp insurance.

My truck had several dents on the hood and the roof from tools landing and striking my vehicle from the impact. Both myself and the employee who was in the vehicle sustained injuries that have turned out to be serious and State Farm has denied everything from day one. My employee has herniated discs and requires back surgery, and I have severe whiplash which will probably have lifelong consequences. I never believed in whiplash or what the effects are. It is no joke and the worst part is not the neck pain, it is the mental effects of the brain injury that are really bad (loss of memory, anxiety, depression). My vehicle was in the shop for 8.5 weeks with me battling State Farm. They denied damages to my vehicle stating it was inconsistent with the kind of wreck, or it was previous damage and so on.

In the end, I forced them to purchase my vehicle from me after it was repaired, the tranny slipped, the CD player was broken, and the vehicle vibrated at highway speed. I had to battle to get the tools repaired that were damaged in the accident. Then the medical battle continued and I had to get a lawyer (should have done that day one). I am not a litigious person and I have never retained a lawyer for anything nor have I wanted to ever in my life. That being said, we went all the way to court and the State Farm lawyer (Bob **) was a completely dishonest person. How Mr. ** lives with himself is beyond me. He has built a career out of screwing paying customers out of their benefits that they pay for. Mr. ** set a motion in court that we could not mention the insurance company or any insurance for that matter.

He then presented the case in a way that made it appear that we were suing the other driver personally, and that he would have to pay out of pocket. The end result is that State Farm got out of paying for the back surgery for my former employee and in the end because we lost the lawsuit, I have to pay for their hired professional witnesses to the tune of $10,000. My former employee will live with a bad back the rest of his life and will never work construction again. For me, I will have neck pain the rest of my life and I have the joy of paying court costs to get screwed legally like a good neighbor State Farm was there. Do not use State Farm and spread the word. This organization is bad. Don’t give them your business.

I was hit from behind while stopped at a red light on April 29, 2013 in Jonesboro, GA. The at-fault driver had State Farm insurance. I had about $1,000 worth of damage done to my brand new 2013 Ford Focus that I hadn't even made the first payment on yet. State Farm fixed the car (using used parts, of course) and so now, I have a brand new car with used parts that has been in an accident. State Farm offered me less than $200 for the diminished value. It is a joke. I know that in the future when I go to trade in or sell my car that it will not be worth as much because it has been in an accident and it has used parts and all that, but State Farm doesn't care and doesn't even take into account that it is a brand new car and in excellent condition (or was before the accident).

So now, I have 5 years worth of payments on a 2013 car that I got one month before the accident with used parts on it that has an accident on record for it. I am so screwed. The only way for me to try to recoup my losses is to sue the at-fault driver in small claims court for the diminished value. What the heck is insurance supposed to be for if not to cover your property damage loss? Why do drivers even have insurance if I have to go after the at-fault driver myself? He might as well have not had insurance. I am so bummed about finally getting a new car that doesn't break down all the time and then now, I have had to deal with this accident and my claim with State Farm.

I am glad I don't have State Farm, and never will. Why can't there be ethics in the insurance world and just do the right thing and cover people's losses fairly? It is not my fault they have a bad driver who runs into people while stopped at red lights. I wish I had never got hit or if I had to get hit, it would have been by someone with a reputable insurance company who understands the value of new cars to their owners. I'm so bummed out about this whole thing. State Farm in not a good (or ethical) neighbor.

When she told me she would have to pay if her bumper was compromised because of her deductible, I called State Farm on her behalf. I was recently in an accident with a tractor trailer, in which the tractor trailer was at fault. Not once, did they inquire about my well-being, but instead told me to call the trucking company's insurance company myself. I thought that was what I paid them to do. When I was with Progressive, they did the work. Meanwhile, I was getting reports, calling insurance offices, getting damage estimates, etc. They still have not cared to follow up. I am just shocked, even if you did not care, I would at least think that inquiring about your customers’ well-being would be the first thing on your list to speak about.

Also, I changed my banking information and was trying to rent a car to go to my grandfather's funeral. The gentleman on the phone, I believe his name was Luis, stated I have no insurance. However, I provided proof that money was deducted from my account two days prior. He stated Mimi **’s office received the payment, however, until the money gets to John’s Creek Office, they cannot verify my insurance to the rental car company. He said it usually always is a 3- to 5-day lapse from when Mimi **'s office receives the payment and when Johns' Creek office can verify if the payment was active.

I was trying to dispute that either way my payment is in your office's account, and I have a valid up to date insurance card. They still refused to verify. He told me to call Mimi ** directly. I did, and she stated, "I have not been at the office in a week, call my office manager and let her handle it." I did… no response. I ended up having to pay extra for the car rental's insurance. Back in 02/02/2013, I mailed out a check directly to State Farm Ins. to cover the entire quarter of his auto insurance, $303.00. On March 15, 2013, we received a statement for $178 and I wrote out a check & mailed it out. On 04/17/2013, my son got a letter of cancellation as of 02/21/2013 for non-payment of premium. I called State Farm up and asked how this could happen. They said the "Funding Corp." recommended cancellation for non-payment. I said to them I have my bank statement in front of me saying that the check was posted to my acct. & cleared on 02/20/2013.

I got nowhere with this lady and asked to speak to someone higher up. I got the same story that once the Funding Corp. says cancel, they cancel and this cannot be reversed. I called the Funding Corp. They said that State Farm is one of the very few that will not reverse their decision on cancellations. The lady at the funding corp. told me to have the manager of State Farm call her to help change her mind. State Farm refused to do anything but cancel. I told the lady my son is learning disabled & I am taking over his finances so these problems don't happen anymore; she didn't care. I told them that I was sent another statement in March and, "We paid that, so why are they cancelling him now?"

The statement even acknowledged the payment that cleared the day before it was cancelled. Despite all the documentation showing the premium was in their bank acct. and knowing my son depends on his car to keep his job, they blindly cancelled his policy with no care about how he's going to get to work and take care of his children. Their "Good Neighbor Policy" is just another way to falsely advertise to take as much money from us as possible.

The people at the funding corp. said State Farm is one of the very few companies that will not reinstate a cancelled policy. In fact, most companies easily reverse their decisions and reinstate just so the customer is happily satisfied, especially when somebody's job is hanging on the insurance company's decision. The highest ranking manager from State Farm, Maureen, even said she gets hundreds of calls like this every week and if she did it for him, she would have to do it for all of them. I said "Why not if the money is in State Farm's bank acct.? They should all be reinstated."

I suppose being one of the largest insurers in the nation, they don't have a budget for undoing their mistakes. They are not "like a good neighbor" at all. I have supporting documents, but this site tells me to upload a valid image. They are valid images of the paperwork I received from State Farm And Conmac Funding Corp.
