I had insurance in Nevada through State Farm which was reusable. Going on 3 years with no accidents and good driving record, I come home to Kentucky and the rate wasn't what I expected, but I went along with it. I went in to make my payment and they doubled my payment expecting me to pay it. I said, "No, thank you. I will find another insurance company." especially after I talked to a lady and assured me that I only had to pay what I had to. I'm pretty sorry of your insurance company to do me that way. I went to a very stable insurance company and it was a fraction of what State Farm quoted me. Thank God for the internet. Thank You. Christine **

Originally, my semi-annual premium was $522.45. After six months, it increases by $87.07. I tried to get a hold of my agent, Luan ** to see what was going on. However, he gave me a vague answer. His explanation was because he was mistaken my dad's name with some other clients. Therefore, the premium increases due to that client's accident but he said that he will fix it.
It has been two months now and I couldn't get a hold of him through the number that he provided or via email. This is the worse customer service I have ever had. How can you possibly mistaken a client's folio? But that's fine if he fixes his mistakes, but he did not! He didn't even follow-up with me on how he resolves this problem.
I want to cancel my insurance plan to end this nonsense plan with them, but I couldn't get a hold of them. At the same time, I do not want to continue paying my car insurance when I don't know when they'll increase my premium again. This is ridiculous!

I received a letter in the mail dated August 15, 2011. It was telling me that after several years of being a client, I am being dropped because of the following. Two of the incidents (speeding ticket and at fault accident) are our fault. They have been repaid for two of the incidents (uninsured motorist claim and a comprehensive claim because the dealership that fixed the car had to reimburse them for all the repairs). On 2-6-08, there was comprehensive claim on vehicle #1, a damage due to hailstorm, which is an act of God. It was repaid due to the dealership causing more damages. I can't control someone not doing their job. And it was a preferred body shop by State Farm. They did not fix the car correctly to begin with.
On 8-15-08, there was a comprehensive claim on vehicle #1. I can't control what flies up from other vehicles. A rock broke my windshield. On 10-20-09, it was my fault. I am guilty. I got a speeding ticket. On 6-11-2010, it was at fault accident on vehicle #2. My husband is guilty. He hit a woman stopped at a red light. She didn't even make a claim and neither did we. On 11-26-10, it was a comprehensive claim on vehicle #1. It was an act of nature and God. A raccoon ran out in front of us and we ran over it. It was right in front of my car and we couldn't stop in time. On 2-8-11, it was a med pay claim on vehicle #1. I was rear ended while driving on an icy road. I was hit by a girl that couldn't stop in time, because she was too busy texting. And she was going a little too fast for the road conditions. I had slowed down due to an accident in front of me. I was getting over in the far left lane and getting back in the far right lane due to an accident on the side of the road. My passenger and I both had injuries.
On 4-22-11, it was uninsured motorist claim on vehicle #1. I was sitting at a red light in Kentucky. A man rear ended me. He had no license, no insurance and tags that didn't go with the vehicle being driven. His vehicle was not properly registered. He was not wearing a seat belt. He was with a child not properly restrained and he had been using drugs. I had witnesses. Then to top it all off, I was told by State Farm that I had to drive the two hour trip one way to get the police report. I was told to fax it to them. When my car was fixed, it wasn't done right. State Farm told me that it was all they were going to do to it. I have to deal with it. My frame in the rear was bent. They said all they were going to do is straighten it, even though my whole back end was shifted and it still is somewhat.

I'm a customer of State Farm Insurance for the past 35 years. In July 2007, I was rear-ended by another vehicle that had State Farm Insurance. I received injuries to my neck and back. State Farm has not paid any of the medical bills. I sued State Farm. The end result after 4 years was that I should receive a settlement check for approximately a fourth of what I've paid. It's now been over two months since the settlement. I've still not received a check from State Farm.

I have been insured through State Farm for over 5 years. I began my insurance because of my mother. She has been with State Farm for 30+ years. I have always bragged about the wonderful customer service that they have provided. Last month, I received a letter from State Farm explaining that as of Sept. 2, they will no longer be able to cover me because of 2 tickets I received over a year ago. I was a bit put off by this. I called up and spoke with Anthony in the Nick **'s office. I was informed that it was also because I had used 3 tows (which I pay for in my policy) in the past 6 months. Anthony informed me that I pay roughly $5 a month for the use of free tows. And he said that the average policy holder only uses the free tow once every 6-7 years. He informed me that State Farm has paid out over $300 dollars in the past 6 months for my tows. So, I politely asked if I was getting cancelled because I was "getting my money's worth". And he replied, "You're actually getting more than your money's worth and that's why you're getting cancelled."

I called in about an accident but I only got me a tow truck and the claim was never filed with their Claims Division.
After two more days, finally, I got it submitted on my own without help from state Farm. The adjustor was delayed, but I was never informed of the delay. I tried to transfer policy, get damages paid for, reimburse deductible, and penalize office for negligence but nothing happened.

In April 2011, my car was running hot. I parked it and left it. When I returned the following day, my car was gone. I made a police report. I went through an internal investigation and now they want us to do a statement under oath.
The car was recovered but it was set on fire. State farm is basically trying to say fraud is involved and trying to say this is criminal.
I do not understand. What was I supposed to do, drive a running hot car? I hate State Farm car insurance with a passion.

What a horrible agency! Not only did they knowingly sell me the wrong policy, but when I tried to collect on a claim, they did not stand behind the policy they sold me. And they gave me no service whatsoever. Months after making a claim, I am still fighting with them on value. In fact, I had to hire an attorney to help me deal with both State Farm and Adam R. Hancock. We are working on a demand letter as I write this. Buyer, beware of State Farm Insurance and especially Adam R. Hancock insurance agency in Elizabeth, Colorado! What a nightmare dealing with them!

I was in an accident with a person that delivered flowers, which is covered by State Farm. I was sitting at a red light, when this big van hit me so hard from behind. My car spun across the street into oncoming traffic. I could've gotten killed. I got out of my car, which was in bad shape. I was in disbelief of what just happened to me. There was a lady who came to my assistance. We thought the guy who was driving the van was dead. I walked to the van and saw the guy was like in a daze, like he was into drugs big time! I yelled at him saying "what are you doing"? He then took off and left. I was lucky the lady wrote his plate down and said the van words said something about flowers.
I called my insurance. They were going to pay for my accident, but decided not to because they located the driver through the plate. This guy told the flower shop I backed into him at a 7-eleven and he had a witness. The flower shop owner said I was a liar and said her driver was telling the truth. The police came to look at my car and said that he could tell that it was the other guy's fault. My car was in bad shape from behind, the whole bumper was submerged into the trunk. He said, "I cant believe this guy said you backed into him?" Well then, the flower shop lady said her insurance was State Farm.
I lost work several days. I was on pain medication that made me lazy and stupid. Two of my discs in my back were misaligned. Two different doctors give me painful injections to help with my back pain. I went to therapy for 1 1/2 years. I got a lawyer. We submitted a demand letter for all my doctors' bills that are more than 60,000.00, for me to get all the medical help I needed. Even State Farm told us that the flower shop driver was at fault. Now they answered our demand letter. And they said that they would pay $1,500.00 for the whole case. My attorney said that State Farm always likes to play these games. Two years later and still in pain, they will come back with that amount? That won't cover my gas bill for all the doctors' appointments I had. How am I going to pay all these doctors' bills? And I might need surgery in the future.
Now we are suing. It will take 2 more years, just because this crappy insurance company don't like to pay what they owe. My fiancee and my friend have their cars and home insured with State Farm. They know what I have been through for these last two years. They decided to change their insurance after all these. And we read about all these complaints!

They were constantly refusing to pay my medical bills for my accident for 2 1/2 years. I hired an attorney. We came to a settlement in writing, they already have gone back on the agreement and we are going to court next week. She is now telling the hospital and everyone else to call me for payment from my settlement. These are past medical bills. The agreement was, State Farm is to pay all past, present and future medicals; not me.
I am being constantly harassed because of this. She was giving everyone my new unlisted phone number. She was also refusing my pain medication. The trauma surgeon referred me for pain management. They tried to refuse IV antibiotics for my MRSA that I got in my leg, but the mediator told them they can't do that. I had to stay an extra week in the hospital because of their refusal and now, they won't pay the hospital bills. I have had 4 surgeries now. They are just refusing to pay anything. I am so mad and stressed.

On Nov. 27, 2010, I was rear-ended by a State Farm customer. The police was called to the accident, and both the driver and I exchanged insurance information. Although it seemed as if my car had the most severe or noticeable damage, I went to the emergency room a few hours after the car accident to be examined.
After a week of no contact from anyone, I went to the police department and paid for a copy of the accident report. Dec. 6, 2010, I searched online and called State Farm's customer service. On Dec. 7, 2010, I was contacted by Aretha **. She stated she was a supervisor and Leah ** would be my claims representative. Ms. ** apologized for the delay of me not being contacted by anyone, and advised me to drop my car off on this same day to begin repairs. I took my car to Cockrell's Body Shop. Cockrell's kept my car from 12/07/10 to 12/24/10! I was given a rental car to drive while my car was being repaired, but after this, I was never contacted by anyone again!
After a few months, I consulted with an attorney for free legal advice (before I made any commitment to obtain anyone). I was legally advised to call State Farm's customer service and check on the status of my claim. I was never able to get in contact with Ms. **, and I was always told she was processing the claim and they would have her to call me!
In February 2011, I was sent an e-mail from HR on my full-time job to verify the amount of sick time I used as a result of the car accident. I wasn't notified from my part-time (evening job). On Feb. 18, 2011, the HR from my primary job sent me a reply to my e-mail and said she had faxed the information back to Ms. **.
February and March went by...I still hadn't heard anything. I received a payment plan from the chiropractic I had been seeing. The bill stated that since they had been unsuccessful in retaining payment for my treatments, I was now responsible! I have been struggling to pay between $50-100 a month to keep this from negatively affecting my credit. Almost at the end of April, I got behind on my payments and I decided to call State Farm again! This time, after I gave the claim number, I was connected to Mr. Raymond **. Mr. ** told me that as of 04/28/11, he was assigned to my claim (I was never notified).
As of today, I still haven't received and/or heard anything else from State Farm. I was really trying to avoid lawyers and taking this to court, but it has been nine months and other than my car being repaired (which also wasn't done very well), I haven't received any compensation, a settlement, a phone call, a letter, or update at all!

In 2007, my daughter was rear ended at 60mph and was insured by State Farm. The problem is that the man that hit her had the same insurance company, State Farm. My daughter was unsupported by her insurance policy which she paid with her hard earned money. It's no wonder they have the great deals but they abandon their clients when their accidents involve their own company. If they insure 40,000,000 then your chances are good when you will hit or be hit by one of their insured. If that happens you are screwed.
I find their new TV advertisement arrogant. Don't come crying to us if you change your insurance company, is an attitude that is typical of State Farm policy. You won't get a thing out of us is practiced by State Farm insurance company.

After 46 years of being with State Farm, carrying both car and home insurance, and life insurance at one time, the Claims Office in Arizona has lied, putting words in my mouth that I did not say.
I am the landlord, 1,300 miles away, so I’m depending on the plumber and contractor and renter to be my eyes. Claims also lied about what the plumber said. I called him directly to ask what he said. He was not happy about the Claims Adjuster's untruthful comments.
However, those untruths, even though they conflicted with the contractor's observations, were enough to deny my claim. But no pictures were sent to me, I have received no formal denial in the mail – no nothing. I asked for a second adjuster and the Claims Office team manager, Michelle **, refused flatly to send another. The section manager is backing her up, just because she looked at pictures.
The water that leaked was not a slow leak, as they claim. A part of the stool (I still don't know the name of those parts) evidently failed somehow, and on Saturday, July 23, 2011, the renters saw it, reported it, and I called on a Sunday and got a claim number. The renters had the impression and they told me after he had left that he had made up his mind when he walked in the door. Even before he saw the damage.
Claims rotted wood. Contractor says it is not rotted – renter sent me pictures – it looked as if it dried fine and they don't have to replace the studs in the wall. Drywall tested positive for asbestos, and baseboard and vanity damaged from the water on the bathroom floor. It has cost me $4,960. The contractors are coming on Monday, because I have to take care of my renters.
This is my retirement income going down the drain? Evidently State Farm is just another crook – in sheep's clothing. If nothing else, I want others to know. In 46 years, we had only 1 claim in Nebraska. The house in Arizona this year has two. That's it. I canceled after all these years. Can I get any help?

About 2 months ago I removed 2 of the vehicles and went to another company because their rate was a lot less. In this time and the state of the economy I need to save every penny that i can. Lo and behold I received a call from the agency telling me that THEY are not accepting the coverage I have for my 18 year old daughter with the other company. the reson they gave me was that I still have one vehicle with them aand my daughter is a liability and they are charging me for her RATING not a seperate policy. The amount they are charging me is more than what I am paying for my daughter for her present policy.
I cannot afford this extra money and because I have automic draft with them they are going to automatically take this money from me whether I like it or not. I cannot afford to cancel my last vehicle with them until September . Now they are tellin me that its the department of insurance rules. How come they never told me that when My daughter was listed as an insured driver with them. I am very disappointed in them. After three long hours in their office, I have spent an additional one hour every week for four weeks correcting my name to my married name, correcting the spelling, correcting my address. Every policy was screwed up twice.
Am I insured? I don't know. Their incompetence has resulted in newly issued auto insurance cards under my former name. My brand new umbrella policy still has the wrong name listed. And my SF IRA also has the wrong name. Despite my attempts-- one hour every week for four weeks -- there are still errors.

On 12/13/06, I was run over by a car traveling at least 55mph in Emmett, Michigan. I sued Citizens Insurance and State Farm, they insured the two drivers involved. I also had State Farm. The Independent Medical Exam for both State Farm and Citizens assert in their reports that my left ankle and back was injured as a result of this accident. My 3rd party suit went to mediation and an award of $35.000 was issued. Under the assumption that State Farm was going to pay my reasonably necessary medical bills under Michigan No-Fault Law and/or its Personal Injury Protection rules, I would have never accepted the mediation offer had I known that State Farm was going to take it upon themselves July 22, 2011 to stop all my medical coverages and pain medications without any written reasons.
State Farm is the worst insurance company I have every dealt with and highly advise anyone looking at them to run as fast as you can to another company. I now have to sue them to get over $200.000 in unpaid medical expenses paid. The claims team thinks that if they stop paying and thwart the claims process long enough, you will just go away. They have absolutely no basis, that I am aware of, to assert that my back was not injured in this accident and even their own IME attributes my back injury to this accident. There are no conflicting medical opinions regarding my back injuries to warrant this action. The claims rep thinks she's a doctor, I guess.
Your insurance rates are going up because State Farm would rather force me to file litigation 5 years after the fact to recover unpaid bills in the last year. In fact last September, JoAnn ** a supervisor and I spoke via phone. She directly told me "State Farm has taken the position that we will not pay any bills not directly related to your left ankle." She went on to tell me they were going to compel me to attend an Examination Under Oath (EUO) and three (3) more Independent Medical Exams (IME).
In November, I had to pay a lawyer $300.00 to sit through the EUO. Their lawyer then sent my lawyer 16 different medical release forms claiming they did not have enough information to pay my outstanding bills. They paid no bills except Progressive Medical for my pain medication up to 7-22-11. I filed complaints against them with Michigan Office of Insurance Regulation asserting they were acting in bad faith and breach of contract. The State agency is worthless and did nothing but give them one extension after the next. State Farm asserted to the State that I did not sign all these irrelevant release forms. I signed every one. I also signed a State Farm Authorization for Release of Information several times which by its own language is good for the duration of the claim. I filed a State Complaint pointing that out. State Farm then told the State that several of my medical providers rejected not only the State Farm release form, but those their lawyer prepared. So I asked the State to ask State Farm to provide us evidence of any such rejection. Mrs. ** of OFIR informed me that State Farm called and informed them that the rejections were "Verbal"!
Knowing this was a lie and a violation of HIPPA laws, I was then informed that after all these months, State Farm was planing a meeting on my claim about 7/15/11 to determine what liability they had to pay for my outstanding bills without any further medical records needed. On July 22, 2011, State Farm issued a boiler-plate letter asserting exactly what JoAnn ** had told me last September. That States: "After a review of your claim, we must respectfully deny further personal injury protection benefits for all injuries and/or conditions being claimed, for all dates of services, except for your left ankle." Without any rational to justify this action. Then, State Farm went so far as to call Progressive Medical and instructed them to cease paying for all my medications. Even though they are ordered for both my ankle and/or back!

On July 28, 2011, I was contacted and told that due to a traffic violation that their background check didn't initially uncover, my rate would actually be $238/month. Because I paid for a month of insurance, but only received two weeks of insurance, I asked when I could expect my refund for the days unused. State Farm is not renewing my car and my son's truck; all 3 to 4 other vehicles were fine. They charged me for 2 accidents. My mvr clearly did not renew my son's car for using Roadside Towing. That's what we pay for. I managed underwriting, 7 yrs in business for 20 excuses. Actually, its sad but true. My 16-year old son got killed as a passenger in the other vehicle, almost 5 years ago. 2 months later, it got keyed (vandalized) in my driveway. Several months later, my oldest son's brand new $30,000 P/U got vandalized by the same gang -- $3,500 damage. It got vandalized at the store but the 4 witnesses said nothing happened.Yes, I submitted these claims. I pay them $30,000 a year. The agent said not to worry. My son's grave got vandalized by the same thugs, and my new Altima was completely vandalized.
Written at the passenger's side was HUGHES ** DIED. There were also paintings on the road. The investigator started a stress test. 2 boys admitted to the paintings but not to all the vandalism and terrorism they caused for 2 two years, which was hidden from me. More happened to our property. However, I did not submit it as a claim. On January, my son was side-swiped in ice -- hit and run. Yeah, they charged my son for the accident and submitted it as collision. What do we have UM for then? Wow, the agent's not to bright. I will take my $30,000 a year elsewhere. I have advised my agent that I will press charges and give them all information and witness. That's too much work for them. It's not fair to State Farm and neither to my family. I never heard of that from other companies, or I have managed in the past. These claims were out of my control and we even tried to hide vehicles, which we shouldn't have to at our own home; and we should not be held responsible for vandalism. Our authorities need to stop making friends and make some arrest; and we both would receive money back that's due for us.

When the final information came back, they didn't have full coverage on one of my vehicles, and didn't have my driver name spelled correctly (still wrong). I signed up for automatic draft and discontinued after 1 month because I was unemployed; and still, 2 months later, they're still taking money out from my account which isn't there, and my bank's charging me overdraft fees. On February 16, 2010, my old VW Bug was rear-ended by a man in a 1994 Mazda Truck. It did $5, 500 in damages to my bug, which had a new engine with only 25 miles on it and major damage to my right shoulder rotator cup. That might cause me, as surgery is still needed, to lose my job and my customers due to the healing time of six months. The Hitchcock Police were given the names of three witnesses who all stated I was not at fault. The State Farm agent was given the names/phone numbers of the three witnesses, and many fax letters with this information was sent to State Farm Austin Claims center. Now, they claim they did not receive the names of the three witnesses until three weeks after the accident date and also denied my claim saying that I backed out into the man in the truck.
But, the man clearly violated the speeding laws of Texas by passing an illegally parked truck blocking his lane before running into the rear of my bug. I received no citation from the local police. State Farm paid the man for his truck damages and for his bodily injury, which he did not report to the police at the time of the accident. They continue to turn down my claim and say that the man did nothing wrong and I was at fault, but the facts point otherwise. It is very upsetting to know I am also a policy holder with State Farm for over 40 years with a clean driving record and have never run into any other vehicle in my 50 years of driving and did not do so in February 2010.
But, the company paid the man in a record-breaking eight days and did not review the facts of the accident I gave them -- did not look at the scene of the accident or the damages to my bug until they had paid the other party; and only after 30 days did State Farm finally talk with the three witnesses. State Farm's decision stands as they will never admit that they did not consider the state laws the man in the Mazda violated, or the three witnesses' statements, which are all in my favor. As I did not have collision coverage at that time with them, I cannot get State Farm to act in a fair manner to honor my claim.

It's been over four months and nothing has been done. When we called her, it goes straight to voicemail. The few times she answered, she's been extremely rude and acted like she didn't want to even work there.

I have been with State Farm Auto Insurance since 2004 and up until now I haven't had any problems. I just recently sold my car and bought a new one. Within a month of buying my new car, I received a notice that they will not be renewing my policy from my agent. He was apologetic and advised me that he himself did not agree and was filing an appeal. The reasoning on the non-renewal letter I received stated because there were two accidents in the last few years. I called and spoke to the corporate underwriting department and they advised me that State Farm suffered significant loss. If they are basing it on the two accidents they had listed, the total cost was less than $5K!
My homeowners insurance is still with State Farm, but after speaking with the state commission office and an attorney, they advised me they have the right to cancel. I know the driving record of two other individuals with State Farm and it's far worse than mine, so why was I dropped? Perhaps it is because I now have a new car? Because I am a single male? By signing with a new insurance carrier I am not paying a higher premium in the amount of approximately $50-$60. To some this may not seem like a lot, but for a single father raising eight year girls with a mortgage living on a tight budget, it is astronomical!

My car was damaged in a severe storm by hail and flying derby. I took it to an emergency command center in Moore to get an estimate of the damage. My right plastic hub cap was damaged in the storm along with hail pits and paint being chipped. The inspector called me in to look at the tire and showed me a scuff in the tire and said that he was sure that the scuff on the tire was caused by me running into a curb and damaging the hub cap therefore the insurance would not cover it.
When I stated that I did not run into a curb to cause the damage Mr. ** stated "yeah I've seen teenagers run the curb but deny they did it.” I was told the car needed to be clean when I brought it for inspection so I took it to a car wash that has the metal boot you drive into to activate it and I'm guessing that's what caused the scuff mark. He then told me that they would not cover the chips out of the paint because hail does not chip paint. When I explained that the chips were not there prior to the storm he just kept stating hail doesn't chip paint. There was more than just hail involved that day, there was derby flying everywhere; I saw a stop sign that had a cement bottom on it fly past the window.
Then Mr. Darrell ** stated, "The wind was not blowing hard enough to blow a stop sign.” I asked if he was there with me. There were tree limbs, bent road signs, a tractor trailer blown over, the highway signs were broken and blown over. I was treated like a lying teenager over a plastic hub cap and belittled about the paint chips all over the car. They kept focusing on the hood only and telling me it was from road wear and flying rocks.

I got rear ended and the crash cracked the plastic mount on my radiator, State farm (Ins.company of the woman that rear ended me) refuses to pay for my radiator. It was not leaking before the accident, the body shop that fixed my truck said it looked like a fresh crack, no fluids were seen on the undercarriage of the truck. State farm says, I have to prove it broke during the accident, all I can prove is that 1 year earlier I had the whole front end redone and pressure checked and there was no leak then. I have witnesses that can also say there was no leak before the accident. Going to cost about 700.00 for a new radiator, all I want is my car back the same as it was.

In reviewing my State Farm Mutual Insurance Company Auto Insurance Policies since 2007 (I've had State Farm Auto for 40 yrs), I noticed a few digits change in my "Customer Rating Index Tier". I called my local Agent for an explanation. She hemmed an hawed. After I kept pressing the situation, she said I would have to call the headquarters for an explanation. My Agent said she didn't know the formula that State Farm uses.
I took my Agent's advice. I called the main office of my policy, Ballston Spa, NY, and spoke with several representatives and supervisors. I was flatly told they will not tell me the formula used to calculate my insurance premium. That it is private. I explained I would be unable to correct any errors if this was the case. I don't feel this is Fair Practice. My premiums have risen over the years. There have been many notices of price hikes sent by State Farm. How can I differentiate between price hikes and incorrect information without clarification of my information? How can I correct errors on State Farm's cumulative information, if I don't have access to it?

In the beginning of April I was caught in a hail storm on my way home from work. There was extensive damage to my car (basically, it looked like I was shot with a machine gun). I filed my claim in a timely manner.
I was directed to some drive through whereas they under estimated the damage and gave me a check, minus the deductible with the provision if I were to have it fixed that the garage would file any further claims for damage. I dropped it off a few weeks later, after the garage ordered the parts for the car. Well, low and behold, there was more damage than the insurance adjuster said and they contacted my insurance. I got another check in the mail. It has since been a month, my rental car coverage has run out (not that anyone called me to tell me) it is costing me $50.00 a day, my insurance claims adjuster, who was basically useless as well as my agent inform me that I should have known all of these details as they were explained to me when I made the initial claim.
That is not true, State Farm did the minimal amount of work with zero Customer Service. Why am I paying them again? Who is supposed to be representing me? When this entire mess is over, I am going to find an agent who actually knows who I am, follows up when and if I file a claim, not just sit there, collect their residuals, and play the corporate insurance game. If you are thinking about using them for your insurance needs, I suggest you read the rest of the consumer information as well. I wish I had.

Ok, so this sounds easy--not too painful. Well, I go and get a quote $240 and okay to get car fixed only to find out when I picked up my car that my mirror was replaced with a used/refurbished piece. Since when did State Farm decide on what my car is replaced with? They don't make the monthly payments/own the title to the car. I have no idea if the person who owned this part before ever had problems with it. I am so disgusted. The girl hits my parked car and I have all the headaches. Side view mirror brand new is $240. I waited until 1:40 PM that afternoon and then called the agent again to get a number to call claims myself. I was promised that an inspector would be out in 24-48 hours to look at my car. The garage called after waiting 48 hours and said no one showed up. I called claims again and they said it would be at least Friday before anyone would come out.
Are you kidding me? A total lack of attention to the customer's needs! What a joke. I talked to two different females who could do absolutely nothing or explain why I was not even given the courtesy of a call saying they would not make it out to the car. My wife has her I.S. 300 Lexus 2004 model car insured with State Farm. She was doing some last min. shopping in Fayetville GA. before Christmas. She had a friend with her as a witness as well as her call to the city and the police regarding this pothole she bottomed out during her route. She had major damage to the cars suspension. State Farm has, in return, agreed to fix the car.
Tony, the adjuster, has told me this week that he did all he was going to and he was sorry he couldn't do anymore for us. I explained to Tony that I had gotten more involved since I felt the car was not fixed and met to show Tony parts that were still bent and needed to be replaced from the pothole. We met at the original shop that was working on the car to start out this claim process. Tony has given all approval of each step suggested by himself or the shop he was working with. He told my wife these things take time and trial and error process.
During this whole claim, we have felt so powerless over the situation. It's tough having two new little ones, one was 6 months at the time and one is now seven months and a 15 year old in high school. The car is our only form of transportation. The whole time this trial and error is going on, our car was never fixed. In fact, Tony just admitted to me the shop he thought replaced a part at one time during this trial and error and did not. He told me another mechanic at a different shop, we wanted to give a second opinion, to look at some answers in the right direction. He had told Tony that a certain part needed to be replaced. Tony then said that part was already replaced and even reported back to my wife that it had already been replaced. So this was all stated during her car failing her coming home from work in rush hour and we then towed it for the second opinion.
I'm glad we did because then, I started paying closer attention to the seriousness of the problem. Tony should never failed to pay them and report to us that anything he had put on a report to fix and say it was fixed and it was not fixed but Tony gets the part sent when he found out over to the new mechanic for further completion of his original consideration of the damage done to the vehicle. I talked to the team manager Greg ** next and he says very bias answers to what is now a major problem in our life.

I got a quote for car insurance from State Farm on April 07, 2011. After e-mailing back and forth a few times, I finally got everything straightened out. They got the make of my van wrong. On April 22, 2011, I called and talked to Alex, and he assured me that the cost for both of my vehicles was $275.67. So I gave him my credit card number and all the other info that he needed and started my insurance with him.
When I filled out the quote form, it had asked if I had been in an accident within the last 3 years, and no, I had not. I got my insurance cards, and they had a start date of April 07, 2011 on them. So I called Alex again and asked him about it. He told me that he forgot to change the date, that the start date had been the date he gave me the quote.
Then I got a letter in the mail stating that I owed them another $29.30. So I called Alex on Saturday, May 07, 2011, and I was told that he was not in. I explained what I was calling about. I was told that someone would call me on Monday, May 9. I also got an e-mail from his boss Daniel ** stating that someone would call me on Monday.
On Monday, I got an e-mail from Daniel ** stating that Alex would call me later that day. 4 minutes after that, I got an e-mail from Alex stating that I owed $32.95 more because I had been in an accident within 6 years. The form that I filled out stated 3 years, not six. I was told that I would get an e-mail confirming that I cancelled my insurance and that I would receive a full refund within 1-2 weeks. How can they ask one question about an accident time period, take your money, then tell you that you owe more money for an accident that occurred before their 3-year time limit?

I explained I worked in claims at Allstate and I took my declaration page and made sure that I did. Then he went on to tell me that claims people and underwriters don't know as much about coverages as agents. So at that point, I let my husband handle it. So he sent us two cancellations for the truck.
So my husband went into the office. The first set of papers for the car and renters, that we needed to cancel in May, had the April 8th date and Ryan told him it was wrong and he reprinted and signed the right ones. Well Ryan didn't get copies of the paperwork (our fault). So yesterday I got the notice about my insurance being canceled on the 8th of April even though the letter is dated for the 21st of April. Claim representative wants to ship this part out to have it rebalanced. Customer claims 2 more weeks is not reasonable considering it is 4 weeks in to process already. New part cost $723 part #4R602B(driveshaft assembly). State Farm has only up till now approved $394 for bad part and wants to ship it out to have additional work done to it. On August 28,2010 I leased a new car and I was shopping for car insurance. State Farm gave me the best quote in the amount of $104 a month which I agreed to. I was told I need to pay for two months in advance, so I did. After a month, I still have not received my permanent insurance card but instead got call from one of their agents saying my premium went up which I did not agree to. I requested to cancel the policy and to give me refund for the second month I did not use. After giving me about two weeks of runarounds, including State Farm not knowing who my agent was, I was contacted by one of them saying there was no refund for the second month but they would call me back as soon as they find out what is going on which, of course, they never did.
Around October 8, I have received a "confirmation of cancellation" letter along with my bill of $231.72. It was explained that it was a short-rated charge. So for only one month of use, State Farm charged me $208 which they refused to refund the $104 for another month. I did not use the policy plus the $231.72 fee. Just this December 1, they gave me a reason why they raised my premium. They said they could not validate my driving record before June 25, 2010, which was not my fault they could not, for I have my license for about 7 years now.
Also the reason they gave me about why I received this bill so late was because I provided wrong address and it came back to their company with "no such number", but there was no reason for me to do so since I was waiting for my permanent insurance card so once again it's not my fault. So in my opinion, if I never agreed to the new quote, State Farm had no right to charge me for it, instead they should honor their first quote and charge me for that, cancel my policy as I requested because once again I did not agree to the new quote, and give me my refund back. Instead, I'm getting treated like a fool, getting runarounds, and having an impression of a scam company I would not recommend to anyone.

But because I hadn't had a car on the road for awhile, they put me in a ridiculous rate. So I told them no. The person I talked to was kind of rude, so I told her that I would never buy State Farm ever. Mostly because of the ridiculous quote but the attitude of the person didn't sit well with me either. Needless to say, I was unable to avoid any accident, the other driver had attempted to cut directly in front of me and caused damage to my front grill and head light area, caused damage to my heater, so now it don't work, damaged my bumper and bumper cover, and a radiator support bracket, total damage is almost 2800.00 because the accident occurred on private property in Nevada.
The police were very reluctant to respond and when they did, they just did a driver exchange card and no report or citation was issued. I phoned in my claim to my insurance as did the other driver, I was on vacation and returning to salt lake city where I live. I was bale to drive my car vehicle home but had to stop in St. George Utah as I had discovered my alignment was out a result of the accident. I got it fixed and added it to my claim.

Well, after many emails as of Dec. 16, 2010 state farm has still been trying to get in contact with their insured and get her version of the accident. Today at 1131 am on 17 Dec 2010, I get a call from state farm saying that they have concluded their investigation and they are finding it a 50/50 accident.
I called back and talked to them and they explained that based on their review of the photos from the scene neither of us attempted to avoid the accident and we both did not look to see if it was safe and they would only pay half of may damages and my insurance would pay half of their insured's damages. I told them very firmly that I do not agree with this decision and I was then transferred over to a claims adjuster. After being on hold, so she could review the file she got back on the phone and was very rude and then said I did not try to avoid the accident. when I explained to her to look at my wheels in the photos, and the final position of my vehicle and the debris field you can plainly see the direct of impact and it shows I tried to avoid her once I saw her.
Little does she know, I'm a police officer and do traffic accidents, so I know what I'm talking about. She became hostile to me and after a few heated words I was hung up on in a very rude way. Now, my questions are this how can you determine a 50/50 fault when the evidence is right in front of you, and if I had not attempted to avoid her. Explain how there was no body damage to my vehicle other that what is there damage to both vehicles would have been far worse, my main question is why is your insured not returning calls to not only their claims agent but to mine as well.

My car was wrecked by my daughter. It has damage to the under carriage mostly. The cost estimated below $3000 to get it repaired. My problem is, is that it's only 18 months old, fairly new. They are putting a used part on it (cradle). I argued about it with two different CRs at State Farm. I have been a State Farm customer since I was 18. I am now 55. So, I added up all the premiums over the years and come to about $80,000.00. And that includes homeowners insurance.
As much that I have paid this company over the years and have been a loyal customer, it irritates me to no end that they use used parts from other vehicles and aftermarket parts. Vernonica said that they do put brand new OEM parts on brand new cars that are wrecked. Why are they allowed to pick and choose who gets brand new OEM parts?
I pay a premium every month just like other insureds. My car is 18 months old. How can I file a class action lawsuit on this type of practice? Evidently, they have been doing this quite a while. And everyone knows when you buy a new vehicle and drive it off the lot, it just depreciated a ton. So why aren't these insureds getting the same treatment that I do if they happen to be in an accident? Used parts!
I know the state of TX has these codes that allow insurance companies to use used parts and aftermarket parts. But to pick and choose who gets them, I don't see that in the policy at all. I bet if a full audit was done, it would surprise a lot of insureds of what State Farm does. They have to keep records of what parts are used because supposedly they warranty the parts. But I would like to see an audit as such to see who got new parts as opposed to who didn't.

State farm was our insurance company and they paid for the total loss of our car then took out the 500.00 deductible from our check before ever going after her Insurance. My thought is they didn't fight on our behalf and that's what they are paid each month to do and when all was said and done and the car was paid off. We had less to pay down on a new car than we did our old one. I thought we have insurance to get us back to were we were and not this time. And why should your insurance company charge you a deductible for doing their job?

I purchased a new 2009 Suzuki Hayabusa in 06-2009. I have full coverage insurance where the rates have increased every 3 months. I am not happy but you must have insurance. I was never late on payments. I have them deducted from my bank account directly. On 11-9-10, a bike fell over with no one around it. Crazy, I know. The dealer and I feel that it must have been on apex of compression stroke causing it to propel just enough to fall. I heard it fall about a minute after I walked away. It was a big crash and it was hard to pick up alone. It was a lot more damage than I would have ever thought from a fall. State Farm Insurance is saying that it's my fault so I must pay $500.00 deductible. Okay, I guess! A day later, they are saying that I damaged it before and are trying to cover it with new damage. I was getting angry! I know that they are saying I must come up with $1,000.00 cash to cover the 2 claims and my claim will be sent to a claims investigator which will take time and may deem it fraudulent. I’m strictly out of luck! State Farm is a real piece of work!

I had called and talked to George complaining that they kept raising my insurance policy. With me being on a fixed income I could not afford their insurance. He worked things out for me and said they would take my policy payments down to $178 a month. Also, he told me that they would not take the payment from my checking account like they usually did. Next thing I knew they sent me a letter stating I still owed $218 and if I did not pay it, they would be cancelling my insurance on October 27, 2010.
I started looking for new insurance. I decided on one who insisted I send them proof that I had insurance until that date. Since I could not find the letter, I called and talked to Kelly. She informed me that my policy had been cancelled not on October 27 but instead on October 21. The new insurance place told me I lost a discount because my insurance had lapsed.
I was furious. I told Kelly that I had received a letter from State Farm, but she told me she could not change what was on her screen. Now that is not fair! I should not have to lose a discount because of their mistake. Progressive informed me I would have to pay $80 more a month because of a 6 to 8 day lapse? Not only that, but she wasn't even sure which day they had cancelled my policy!

On May 20, 2010, my father was hit by a drunk driver and as a result, his truck was damaged and he has been in a vegetative state since then (it has been five months). I, being his daughter, filed the claim within three days of the accident and State Farm did not send someone to look at the truck until the middle of August. We then did not get an estimate until middle of October. It is now November and and the truck has still not been fixed because the estimate that they provided is too low for the amount of damage and repair.
I attempted to call the representative handling the claim and she did not answer. When I then spoke to a woman, Suzanne, she said she was not discussing anything with me and said she was ending the call and then hung up. So not only have we had to deal with my father's health, but we now have the ordeal of having to deal with the insurance company which has not been of any help so far. All I want is to have the truck fixed so that we don't have to stare at the damage anymore.

I was hit by a person who had State Farm Insurance on September 3, 2010. I filed the claim, went to one of their repair shops, they attempted to look for the part, after it took so long I called Team 1 of State Farm, they asked if I had the receipt from when I purchased the aftermarket rims from 2004, I did and faxed it to them which totaled $1500 for a set of 20 inch Kruz rims and tires in 2004.
They sent someone else to look for the center cap, no luck either. They called me and offered me $200, for the rim that is discontinued, I was at work when they called so I called back at 5:22, on October 28, 2010. One hour and thirty-eight minutes after, they called me. I asked Rachel, "How could they offer me $200 for something that was in a set, that was discontinued and they could not find? How was I suppose to find another one to match the other three if they could not find one?”. That meant I had to purchase a whole new set just because someone backed into my parked car with my daughter in it.
She transferred me to Shannon. I asked Shannon the same question and she started being sarcastic and yelling. I politely asked her if she was upset that I was asking her that question. If I was not parked and someone backed into me, I would not be having this conversation with her anyway. She said that, she was not upset but she can only pay for what was messed up and then she said, "What is your address so I can get your check in the mail?”.
After she had been so rude about me asking one little question and so quick to get the check in the mail, it made me feel that there was something else to this situation especially if you have this kind of attitude towards a person that just want an answer. It is funny, not one time did she offer me a check for the paint that came off of my SUV after the State Farm insured party hit and turned into me. I did tell her that I would have my attorney contact them so she could hold off on the check. She said, "Fine, have your attorney call then!"

October 28, 2010 9:14PM. I just now had to make several attempts with your website in an effort to make my payment for November 2010. You requested three times security questions. I correctly answered all 3 questions! However, your system kept switching the questions around even though I was answering them correctly! I know my answers were correct because I had written them down (for such a purpose as this) when I initially registered to make payments online. Now your system tells me that my account is in "lockdown"! I do not need for anyone to explain to me why you ask the security questions, that is too obvious. Now, I am supposed to make a phone call to get this mess straightened out!
If I am going to have to go through this frustration each and every time I try to make a payment, I will go back to regular mail that costs me even more since I have to buy checks to send and pay postage! I have had an account with State Farm for over 20 years now. This is a major pain. My time is valuable to me and I don't appreciate dealing with the frustration you are causing me - just to make a simple payment! I do not want an attorney to contact me. That's absurd. But I do believe as part of your Customer Relations, an apology should be given.

In mid September 2010 my son moved out of my residence and I requested he and his car be removed from my policy. When they called me to confirm the change, I told them I would wait until he sets up his own policy. They agreed that would be a good idea and now on 10/18 he totaled his car, he is fine, but he no longer has a car and has no access to my home, locks were changed, etc.
I called to remove him and they are telling me I cannot due to the possibility he may come to my house and use my cars. First off, if I pretended to live in NY state at my cousin's to get cheaper insurance, that would be considered fraud. But since I pay them $2,400 per year for my son alone, it is not considered fraud for him to live elsewhere, have no access to my cars yet be on my insurance.
I am switching to NJM as soon as possible and I refuse to pay the last bill unless he is removed from it. Also, I just switched brokers due to the incompetence from one of the people working in my old broker's office. She has repeatedly screwed up my account to the point that I could not keep up with all the extra charges and whatnot. The service I am getting is horrible. Also, I was told by Curt ** that we are an extreme risk due to the accident on Monday when my son hit a rock. Yes, a rock. This other driver not only damaged my wife's car but also damaged 4 other vehicles. But my wife's car and another car sustained most of the damage. State Farm Claims Department estimated the damage of my wife's car to be $9600.00. What we are trying to do is to get State Farm insurance to pay not only the cost of the repair but to also pay for the cost of towing her vehicle to the place where we would like to have it repaired, which is here in and around Silvis (East Moline,IL).
This other car, the way the police described the accident, jumped a curb, hit a no parking sign, hit a light pole, hit a Volvo, hit my wife's car, and hit 3 other vehicles. My wife's car and the Volvo sustained the bulk of the damage. Neither car is drivable. We live 150 miles away from Schiller Park, IL. It is an inconvenience for her car to be repaired this far from where we live. State Farm should pay the expense to have the car fixed at where we would like to have it fixed.

Two days later we had a rainstorm and my car was flooded, a foot of water. I was upset because State Farm lied and said I couldn’t get my window fixed at the dealers and yet Toyota said it could have been replaced.
I went back to Safelite Auto Glass and they denied my car leaked from the windshield when we know it did. My car then was taken to Toyota and we had a State Farm adjuster look at the damage and flood damage. I was present, and the adjuster told Toyota my car was a total loss. The seats, carpets and all the wire harness got flooded. I was fumed because Toyota put repairs into this car and I didn’t okay this. Why did Toyota and State say one thing and deny all this. I don’t feel I should accept my car back because it is ruined and wiring will rot out in time. They have paid out 6000 bucks to Toyota and I have not agreed on keeping this car. State Farm is liar and Toyota has made money on my car that is not worth anything anymore.
The car is still at the shop. I didn’t okay the repairs. It’s been a nightmare and I need a lawyer ASAP. I’m a single mom with a disabled child and on low income wages. What can I do? I put the car in park and got out, the man (Victor **) had pulled back in his parking space and got out to talk to me. I pulled my car back into the parking space I had been in. I got out and asked him if he had insurance, he said he did but that he didn't have a driver's license.
A woman and child got out to go into Lowe's, they were coming to Lowe's, not leaving. I had actually waited for him to park before I backed out. My guess is he was backing out in order to better park the vehicle. He had a young girl get the registration out of the glove box and a State Farm Insurance card (expired). I wrote down all the information and got the car license.
I called my agent Jane **, the following Monday. I didn't know you could call a claim dept. 24 hr. I couldn't speak to Jane but was told to call the claim dept. so I did. They took the information. Days went by I called talked to several people, I was told they couldn't get a response by telephone so they were sending a letter. Days went by, still no word.
I finally called yesterday and was told that he did have insurance but they had to deal with the Spanish language. He spoke perfect English to me. She said his agent or representative had decided I should pay 50% of repair cost. They were surprised that Victor **'s agent had not talked to me. They didn't even know my side of the story. No one has asked to see my car. She (don't have a name) said she couldn't get through on the phone lines so she would have a claim agent call me. No call so far. I also called Lowe's to inquire about a surveillance camera, the manager checked the camera but it only captured the front door looking down.

My boyfriend, at the time, who did not live with me was to drive my car up the road to his house to get something and come right back. On the way back, he got into an accident and a claim went through. I bought a new car and broke up with my boyfriend. I went back to State Farm to get insurance on my new car and everything seemed to go smoothly. A couple of months later, I checked my bank to see if my auto insurance had been withdrawn like it is every month, only this time, it was only for $13 and change. Concerned, I immediately called my insurance company to find out why. I was told my policy has been canceled due to non-compliance.
Apparently, I had been sent a registered letter demanding proof that my ex-boyfriend did not live with me. If I did not submit this proof within a certain time frame, my insurance would be canceled. I went to Canada Post to see why it was that I had not received any registered letter. My letter was at the post office, but was not in their system. The underwriter making the decisions on my case was told this and admitted that it looked as though it was Canada Post's fault that I was not notified of the need for proof my ex-boyfriend did not live with me. Within minutes of my phone call with State Farm, I came into the office with my ex-boyfriend's license and some mail proving he did not live with me. I could have supplied them with this information at any time but was never asked for it.
Now, my insurance has increased by 2.5 times. Instead of $100 per month, it is now $245 per month. I was not allowed to speak with the agent Rick ** himself nor was I allowed to speak with the underwriter Eric himself. I was only allowed to deal with the very rude women in his office. So my insurance has been raised substantially because I did not receive a letter due to an error on Canada Post's part. I asked Michelle from the State Farm office, "Are you telling me that my insurance has been increased because of an error by Canada Post and there is nothing that can be done about it?". We got into a car accident in Baltimore, Maryland. We were completely stopped for over 20 seconds, waiting for opposite direction cars to pass, trying to make a turn into a Walgreens' parking lot when Car B, hit our car, Car A, in the driver's side door. The driver of Car B admitted that he was trying to make a call on his cell phone and wasn't looking up at the scene of the accident. He was traveling behind us and failed to stop or go around us. We both have State Farm auto insurance. The accident took place on Saturday 9/18 at 2:45PM. The police arrived at the scene and did not file a police report. We filed a claim with State Farm at approximately 3:30PM and so did the driver of car B.
At approximately 5PM (all offices were closed and only phone operators were at the offices), we received a call saying that they denied our claim against driver B, without receiving evidence or official statements. State Farm changed the story 4 times, first saying that we cut across 2 lanes of traffic to get turn. Then after they saw the evidence, that it was a one lane street, they claimed that Car A blew a stop sign. After I showed them pictures of the scene of the accident showing no stop sign, they said that we blew a yield sign. They never went to visit the scene of the accident and only looked at a picture from google earth. After we denied doing anything wrong and showed no yield sign near the scene, they again said that we made a turn from the right lane rather than the left lane. It is clear that it was driver B's fault and they are showing him preferential treatment for whatever reason.
We submitted approximately 10 pictures and have video evidence that there is only one lane in the street, and they are refusing to accept the claim when we are 100% sure that driver B was at fault. We are from New York and if the accident took place in New York, there would have been a police report describing exactly what happened. But since the Baltimore, Maryland police failed to file a report, there is no official evidence against us nor driver B. State Farm is not doing enough to fight for our claim and are only fighting for driver B's claim against us. Car B was driving behind car A (ours) and hit us over 20 seconds after we were stopped waiting to make our turn.
We want to file an official complaint against all agents involved with this claim and against the driver of car B for lying about the accident and fraud. If and when they finally find fault in driver B, then we would like to file a legal suit for fraud on their part, bias and for all the stress, aggravation and time that was spent on this ordeal.

There is no communication or direction followed from customer service to the claim adjuster. The auto body shop didn't like the after market parts that were given to them. I have been a loyal State Farm customer for over 20 years. On May 28, I had a bad auto accident in Florida. My Tundra was a total loss. I went to the hospital with a concussion and while I was at the hospital, I was ticketed. The officer never got my side of the story and listened to the truck driver who hit me. I was with a Greek friend who didn't understand the officer's questions. My daughter was also a witness. She went with me at the hospital. The truck driver spoke little English as well, from what I understood. I hired an attorney, who represented me in court. The officer and the truck driver didn't show up for court on the date and the judge postponed the case for three months. On the second court date, the driver didn't show up again and the case was dismissed in court. The officer agreed to dismiss the case.
In the meanwhile, after 20 years of being a customer of State Farm, I was canceled along with my family. I began searching for auto insurance and went to AAA auto insurance. I had AAA since I was 18 and I am now 48. When AAA pulled up my driver's report, State Farm reported me as having two accident, one on May 28 and one on May 29. I am now having a hard time getting insurance because of the inaccuracy of the DMV report. This was the same accident, just reported inaccurately. I should have never been ticketed because I was not at fault. I was never available to give my testimony. The other driver lied to the officer and said I did a u-turn in the middle of the road which I didn't do. He only wanted to cover himself. Now that the ticket was dismissed, I found that State Farm had paid out $58,000 to the trucking company without ever telling me. I found out with AAA auto company that Sandra ** had closed the case. I still have medical bill outstanding and I am still having therapy for my shoulder and knees. I called Sandra ** at the AAA office and she said that she closed the case without ever telling me. The car continued to move after it hit me and it was only because of my wits that he stopped. I banged on the trunk with my umbrella and then he stopped. I was so angry, I got up and went to his window when he didn't get out of the car to see if I was OK. He rolled his window down and said, "I'm sorry, I thought you were gone!". I said "you saw me before you moved and you didn't bother to check your mirror again before you moved!".
My leg was hurting and I asked him for his name and insurance information. I have a witness who saw the whole thing. He took off, but not before I got his plate #. I am not one to run to the hospital unless absolutely necessary so I didn't go that night, but I went the next day when I couldn't walk. They found that I had a fractured fibula and sprained/strained my back and neck. They told me to follow up with an orthopedist, but because State Farm wouldn't assign a claim #, I had to go to a lawyer just so I could get treatment. Then it took 2 months before they would give my lawyer the insurance claim # and I couldn't have an MRI for those 2 months because nowhere would do it without the claim #!!
Finally when I had the MRI, the findings were that I have 2 herniated discs in my neck and 2 bulging discs and a herniated disk in my lower back. I have been receiving physical therapy, chiropractic manipulation and acupuncture for nearly 6 months now. Just 3 weeks ago, I saw a Neurosurgeon who said that I need surgery. I have also been getting trigger point injections for a month, once a week with no improvement other than easing up on the spasms. They (State Farm Insurance) made an appointment to see one of their appointed doctors. I had trigger point injections for the first time, the day before my appointment and on the day of the appointment. I was in such pain, I had to reschedule for the following week.
By the time I went for the appointment, I"d had trigger point injections twice, which had helped with the spasms. When I saw their Dr. I told him about this, which he dismissed with a wave of his hand. I just received a copy of his report today, along with a denial of my claim. This Dr. flat out lied in his report. The only examinations he did on me were asking me to raise my arms over my head (which I had great difficulty doing, yet he reported that I had none!), bending forward as far as I could (again very difficult, yet he reported on the contrary) and to either side. For all of these examinations, I had pain and difficulty performing, yet he said I didn't. Then he used a pin to see if I could feel different areas, which I could and he tested my reflexes which seemed to be OK. He had me roll back and forth on my feet and then had me squeeze his hands. His exam was performed on a chair in his office.
Throughout these examinations, I was fully clothed, yet he said I didn't need assistance dressing or undressing! He said I got on and off the examination table without assistance and as I said, I sat in a chair and got up with some difficulty. There was no nurse present in the room with me during the examination, as is I understand required by law. Based on this "report", my claim has been declined in spite of the findings of my own Dr. and a neurosurgeon and the evidence of an MRI and an electrodiagnostic study! According to their Dr., I have 1) Cervical sprain/strain, resolved. 2) Bilateral shoulder sprain, resolved and 3) Lumbosacral sprain/strain, resolved. I had a copy of the MRI disk with me on the day of my appointment and offered it to the Dr., but he said he didn't need it! Now I have gotten a letter from State Farm Insurance saying that I have to go see a Neurosurgeon in Hempstead, which is a 45-50 minute drive from where I live in Sunnyside, Queens. My lawyer got on the phone with them and requested a Dr. closer to me and they said they don't have one. So on a letter dated September 9 which I received on September 14th, I have to make arrangements to see a Dr. on the 16th, even though my claim has been denied.
The physical damage is extensive. I have a fractured fibula, 2 herniated discs in my neck and 2 bulging discs and a herniated disk in my lower back. The financial damage is also extensive. I haven't been able to work since that time except for two weeks when I tried to go back to work, but the pain was too much. I've had to pay for medication, transportation and help at my home and a dog walker 4 times a day. I am so depressed because of the limitations this injury has put on me and feel like some kind of criminal based on State Farm Insurance treatment of me. I have no history of neck or back injury and I wouldn't have gone to a lawyer had they agreed to pay for my medical expenses and loss of earnings but now it's gone way beyond that. How, when it's so blatantly obvious that I have these injuries from this accident, can they do this? I get there are insurance schemers who do this all the time but when you have obvious wrong doing wherein the driver drove away from the scene of an accident and there are witnesses, how can they do this?!!

My vehicle was hit on July 30, 2010. I have dealt with State Farm for weeks now. My car cannot be driven, it has been parked since then. I feel like I'm not getting in any help on getting my car fixed. They keep telling me the "can't reach the policy holder and police report has three names on it". I was coming up route 3 in Beckley, WV. He never stopped and pulled straight out on top of me, smashing my passenger side from door handle to end of car since he was in a truck with a big brush guard in front.
State Farm told me that they have no way of getting a hold of these people to get their side of the story, in which I didn't understand because the state trooper took both sides of the story. The police report should have everything they need because the officer told me he was ticketing Mike ** for not yielding to oncoming traffic. I just don't understand why someone would hold a policy for people that have no address and no phone number.

My husband's car was involved in a front end collision in April of this year. My adult daughter was driving and was forced into another lane. My 4 yr old granddaughter was in the car. My daughter had minor injuries that required her transport to the hospital for back, hip and neck. The car has been a perfect car that my husband loved. It is a Ford Minivan that has everything and my grandchildren love the car; it has a DVD/VCR system with a great radio and CD changer.
State Farm suggested a place to send the car, one of their approved repair shops, that they "guarantee". The car was never fixed properly, it went back to the repair shop grudgingly 2 additional times and nothing was done. The entire sound system and video system does not work and has not worked since the accident. The repair shop tells them and us that it is not because of the accident. My husband cannot drive the car because every time he does, it dies and he has to get towed. State Farm has paid for many tows but they still will not pay for us to have the vehicle repaired again. At this point, I believe they should have totaled the car at the beginning.
I hate State Farm. We have had insurance with them for 40+years and have it on everything - cars (4), house, life and additional riders for other items. I am looking into cancelling these policies. I hate them and will not recommend them to anyone ever. Ed **, our agent, has done nothing to intercede on our behalf and that makes him a ** agent and I hope nobody buys anything from him ever.

My truck was damaged when it was stolen. The body work was completed, but when I went to pick my truck up, I was afraid to drive it home with a horrible banging noise coming from the steering. I was told by Mr. ** that since there was a service bulletin from GMC on a common problem with the truck, the repair would not take place.
The adjuster (feels) that the noise has nothing to do with the fact my truck was smashed and driven off road. State Farm seems to have an out on doing any repairs where a TSB is on a part. And Mr. ** seems to enjoy denying claims, as that what he is paid to do. My truck and cars are well-maintained, and it never had this banging before the crash.

I recently sent my premium payment to State Farm, it was lost, they canceled my car insurance. They sent me a letter stating it would be canceled, but if payment had been made to disregard the notice. I thought it was paid so I disregarded the notice. Then my agent called me to inform me I had been canceled for over a month. I was shocked. I sent my payment via money order, so I called Moneygram and was able to prove to them that the money order had been purchased in due time and it had not been cashed.
I reported it lost and they will refund me the money order, but it will take 30 days. They refused to reinstate my insurance unless I sent another payment to them promptly. I do not have the funds right now to send them more money until I receive the refund from Moneygram, so I am driving right now without insurance. I will purchase insurance from another company as soon as my refund is reimbursed to me. In the meantime, I am driving on luck alone. I don't think they are a very good neighbor.

I started an auto policy over the phone on March 19, 2010 and gave a credit card that belongs to my sister for first payment. Then, I sent a check to get the payment drawn from my bank account on the 25th of every month. My sister disputed the charge because she did not remember the transaction. She contacted State Farm to ask about the charge but they did not tell her that the charge was for an auto policy. This is the start to problems. My policy was canceled on July 17, 2010. I never received a letter or a phone call about the matter.
I called the broker that set up my policy on July 25th, because I noticed that they did not deduct the payment from my account. That is when I found out that my auto insurance policy was canceled for nonpayment from March 19, 2010. State Farm notified DMV that I had lapse of insurance. I think that State Farm should have warned me about lapse insurance by letter and phone call, which they did not. They claimed that a letter was sent. But up to this date, I have not received anything. I have called State Farm and they have given me the runaround. Different persons have been giving me different information and they have felt to admit the error on their part. If they had the authorization to withdraw monthly payments from my account, why didn’t State Farm withdraw the canceled payment? A simple phone call could have resolved the issue. When different agents working for State Farm were asked, some said that yes, they call their clients about cancellations. Other agents stated that sometimes they call and some other agents said that they do not call anyone. I have to pay a fine and turn in my plates for vehicle and registration. I also have no plates for 20 days.

I have been a customer of State farm Insurance in New Jersey for about 15 years. Along with auto insurance, I also have the home owners insurance with state farm. I chose State farm a while back because of their proximity in Parsippany and cheaper rates among other companies. All seems to go well till I submitted a claim few weeks back. I had rear ended another car. There was minor damage to my car and other car.
This is the second claim I know of for the past 15 years as State farm customer. State farm claim agents on the phone tried to prevent me from filing the claim, repeatedly indicating deductibles etc. Most disappointing of all, in a week my agent calls me to inform me in advance that State Farm will not renew my Auto Insurance citing all the tickets I had for the past 5 years and that the "trend" of my auto claims is alarming to them. This is by far most ridiculous reason considering, there are two claims in past 15 years. This is horrible way to treat a customer and branding someone as Insurance fraud.
If Medical Insurance company withdraws insurance because of increasing health claims based on age and all Insurance carriers selectively profiles their customer to unilaterally decide not to renew their long standing customers, what is the purpose of buying Insurance? To send a fixed sum into a black hole every month to support their huge offices and bureaucracy?
It is important for everyone to realize the dark side and the real business model behind State Farm insurance. While I can easily find another insurance carrier, I will make it a point to educate all customers on State Farm Insurance's wrong practices. I am also considering legal action around lack of business ethic and accountability for their own line of business.

Both of these accidents are correct, only I was rear ended on the 12-22 one and a drunk driver ran a red light and hit me on the 11-29 one.
I have had insurance with State Farm for almost 8 years. They claim that they ran a consumer report on me through ChoicePoint National Consumer Disclosure Center. I, for one, did not authorize this consumer check and both of the accidents were not my fault. I did not get a ticket for either one of the accidents due to the fact that I was in the right of way and was hit by other drivers in the wrong. I have driven more than 7,500 miles a year for years and I had told this to State Farm. Why then a sudden premium increase (almost 20% increase)?
$327 yearly increase in auto insurance for no apparent reason. Because State Farm decided that I must pay more for driving in excess of 7500--even though their own policy states that national average is 12,000 per year.

A State Farm client plowed me on the road. Approaching the completion of my graduate studies, my parents helped me get a Buddy Series Italia Genuine Scooter, with its distinctive olive color. I had just returned from a missionary work in Southeast Asia and returned to Dallas near penniless, so I wasn't going to leave my wallet in the gas station if I could help it.
Being newly ordained and involved in non-profit work, it was cost effective and fun to commute the city roads with such an economical scooter as my Buddy. I've prided myself a good conservative rider for nearly two years. That changed when a sixteen-year old State Farm client plowed me aside in the middle of Greenville Road with some large white boat of a vehicle as he shot out of the Old Town parking lot, cutting across one, two and nearly three lanes in broad daylight. I hit the street at 40mph.
Friday late afternoon, July 9th, I got a voicemail from State Farm. I had to use my left hand to hold the phone since my right arm had significantly raw "road rash". It was painful. Imagine my surprise when the message from State Farm opened with the sound of laughing in the background cut in with the cavalier voice of Claim Representative Holly **. I felt like the brunt of a joke, a survivor of an accident where such a scenario frequently plays out in death for the rider and an "oops" for the driver. Looking at my right arm with which I had just spent the night and morning screaming over as I changed dressings and thinking about my battered and broken "Jessica" (my scooter), I thought State Farm's merry message absolutely unwelcome.
Nineteen days later, July 28th, I was "privileged" with my first direct claimant to claim rep conversation at about two in the afternoon. Thank God I had enough sensibility to use a fax and use it often since, Holly never answered her extension, left work early and at least on one occasion, just simply didn't show up for work in the office (was it Monday or Tuesday?
Oh well, I guess that doesn't matter since I didn't get to talk to Holly on Monday or Tuesday). On my end, I had been diligent to change out my dressings at least twice a day and thankfully, my screaming stopped somewhere in the third week. I did scream about Jessica's repair estimate, on the other hand, for a total of $1,150.99. For a young start-up minister like me, that repair quote could just as well be one hundred times that amount. With no capital available for Jessica, my sad scooter sat dusting at the shop. No riding for her there.
While I should have been overjoyed to actually talk to a human being from State Farm that afternoon, my mind had already translated the non-verbal communication from their Claims Department. It was clear what State Farm thought of me. In "double speak", their behavior is translated as saying thus "you're not important". Perhaps I was wrong. I thought briefly as Holly's voice spoke on the other end of the line. It's hard to be angry with a sweet voice yet, I learned quickly that you have to pay attention to what's being said most especially when the voice on the other end sounds too sweet.
I was right. How could a claim representative of Automobile Insurance not be familiar with what a "road rash" is and that it would require medical supplies for treatment? If you go the self-treatment route like I did (and you know enough of what in the world to do it helps to ask a nurse), the price tag for treatment and supplies, like gauze, ointment, etc., should be cheaper than going to a hospital or seeing a doctor.
Apparently, the medial price tag I faxed them was too rich for their blood. Holly fished about the fax. Then, she supposed that perhaps I changed my wound dressing five times in five weeks (she was fishing if the five days I got medical stuff were the days I changed my arm dressing). FYI: You don't throw naked arm flesh at the street at 40mph and get a wound you casually dress and undress five times in five weeks. I remembered myself screaming often changing out the gauze on my arm. I told that claim rep plainly that I've had to change my dressings every day at least twice a day. She made like she was doing me a favor to consider the fax and that the department would constitute what was "reasonable and necessary".
I was curious about her client, the boy who plowed me aside in the middle of the street. I wondered if the teenager seriously thought the accident was some phenomenon unrelated to his incompetence in shooting out the parking lot to cut across to the farthest lane left on Greenville in front of an oncoming vehicle in the middle lane. Suddenly, Holly raised her voice at me saying the boy is "taking responsibility" for the accident and that I should have figured that out since I was on the phone with her.
Given her tone with me, I might have thought the boy a saint for "taking responsibility" and making this poor woman look over faxes from such a horrible me --the obvious victimizer. There is this point in any man when pride for your beloved once pretty vehicle wants some kind of acknowledgment or even vindication from the one who battered your pretty thing ** ugly. You want to know if this person knows what they did was wrong.
Not once in my conversation with Holly ** did I hear anything remotely close to an apology for what happened or (and this is what I was looking for) that State Farm Claims determined her client to be "at fault". She just couldn't say it like it was a disease. No communication said it. Nothing. I could have died in the middle of the street and this Holly wouldn't ingratiate herself to say the boy was "at fault". Have you ever wondered why armies are led by a commander in chief, or something or other and not by a committee? That's because committees are really good at not winning a war. When it comes to a claim, get highly suspicious when they tell you "Team 43" will take care of you. In other words, you better wake up before "Team 43" obliterates your claim with "double speak". It's the "we" are taking responsibility deal when everyone on the "team" knows no one owns it so, who's to blame when it turns to State Farm Claims' mush?
So, the next day, when I got a voicemail from some woman named Gail with no last name or extension, saying that the next time I call in about my claim I can simply talk to "anybody" on "Team 43" (who?), I knew I better wake up. When they say "anybody" can help you, it's time you know "nobody" in their team cares about you. I was not happy seeing how easy it is for any project, much less a claim for crying out loud, to get lost in committee red tape for, who knows, weeks and months, even up to two years? I've requested that State Farm Claims clarify to me what claim representative is going to be responsible for this claim because it doesn't look like I'll be talking to Holly anytime soon.
I hope that "whoever" in "Team 43" from the pool of "anybody" will stop laughing in air conditioned offices going cavalier with injured claimants who are hurting with battered vehicles waiting for repair. In sum, the claim represents at least $1,484.00 for the cost of vehicular repair, medical supply for self-treatment and personal effects. I was injured with "road rash" on my arm.

I was rear-ended in September of 2009 by a girl covered by State Farm Insurance. I called my insurance, Travelers, the same day as the accident and gave them as much information as I could. I was in a hurry to get to a doctor's appointment so I let the police officer take the other girl's insurance information. 3 days later, I picked up the police report and called State Farm which was the girl's insurance. State Farm said they would call the girl since she had not contacted them. They said to check back in a couple of days. Meanwhile, my car is a mess. The bumper is hanging loose, the exhaust pipe is broken, there are 2 holes punctured in the bumper, my trunk lid is out of alignment with one side higher than the other, and there are numerous other small problems.
I call State Farm back a couple of days after initially reporting the accident. They had called the girl but she didn't answer. I asked them to call her again. State Farm, Travelers, and I went back and forth for several days with nothing getting done. Finally after 18 days, yes I said 18, the girl contacted State Farm. Based on her statement and the police report, State Farm assumed responsibility. I was finally put in a rental car and my car was taken to the shop. It took the shop almost a month to fix my car. Even then, I had to take it back once to get something done that they had neglected. State Farm was cooperating decently for this whole time.
Fast forward to July 19th, 2010. I took my car to a local transmission shop to have the transmission fluid checked since the car has over 100,000 miles. The shop inspected the transmission and drive shaft. The shop said that the damage to the transmission and the drive shaft was most likely caused by a car accident. Considering that nothing else has happened to the car, I called State Farm. They said to take it to the shop where I originally had the car fixed and they would inspect it and make a decision. I dropped off my car and was told that a State Farm adjuster would be contacted that very morning.
This morning, July 21st, I called State Farm to see if they had heard anything. They said an adjuster had been called this morning and it would take 2 to 3 business days for them to get out to inspect the vehicle. They also said that the shop told them that the damage was not accident related. I called the shop and they said that "burnt fluid doesn't make it accident related". Gear damage, transmission damage, and drive shaft damages sure can be related.
State Farm is refusing to let the shop inspect the vehicle without an adjuster present. They have also been rude to me on the phone and treated me like I'm stupid and don't know anything. One lady I talked to practically yelled at me over the phone and told me I was not allowed to call back until Monday.I feel like State Farm is giving me the run around and that they are trying to keep me from interfering with anything.
State Farm is kicking, screaming and doesn't want to have to pay more money to make a situation right. Even if a person is not one of your customers, there is no call to be rude and nasty when they are trying to find out what is going on with their claim. State Farm is never going to get my business for anything because of this whole situation.
I have been caused emotional damage, I have had to shell out money for a rental car, I have had to spend my money sending things to State Farm. I could have even had to buy a new car because the situation was not handled properly. As it stands, I may still have to buy a new car if State Farm decides the damage to great. If this had been all taken care of in the first place, the damage might not have been so bad.

My son was in a fender-bender in a parking lot. My son was driving in a parking lot when a car was backing out and hit his car. The police were called and they took a report saying just that, car # 1 was backing out of parking lot and hit car #2. There were two eye witnesses that spoke with the officer. No names were on the report. A diagram was on the report showing the car location and who hit who. I have been told that car #1 was at fault and car# 2(my son) had the right of way. I went and got my car fixed and paid the $500 deductible and State Farm paid the rest. I thought I was going to get my $500 back because it was not my son's fault.
This is where it gets messed up, the two eye witnesses wrote a letter to the claim adjuster saying my son wasn't paying attention and it was his fault. The claim adjuster had to look in to this, so he called and asked me what happened and I told him what happened and my son also left him a message that described the accident. The claims adjuster talked to the two witnesses on the phone and the police officer also told him what happened. The fact that the officer did not change any of the report (remember the officer did talk with each of the witnesses), why didn't he put this in the report, I am assuming at the time of the accident what they had to say wasn't that important.
He is the expert in this case. At this point the claim adjuster is done investigating. He called and said I will not get my $500 back because what the two witnesses told him. The claim adjuster talked with both of the witnesses a week or more after the accident. I think that one of the witnesses may have known the person driving car #1.
My question is, did they tell the same story to the claim adjuster as they told the officer at the accident site? Next question, how can anyone say for sure someone wasn't paying attention? Remember car#1 hit car#2 in the the rear quarter which means he was already past car #1, the person was backing out, my son had the right of way, according to the police report. When does a police report not count for anything?
The claims adjuster said that the officer didn't do a very good job. How does a claim adjuster have the right to make a claim that the police officer didn't do a good job and that his report isn't correct and by the way he decided what I said had no merit? This is why I didn't get my $500. I have 3 cars and a home that is insured by State Farm, the way they went about processing this claim scares me. I have way more to lose than $500 next time but there will not be a next time.

On June 24, 2010, I wrote your office with the following issues and have not heard back from you all just yet. I am still requesting a stay of my insurance premium of $155.71 until your review and findings are completed. I purchased auto insurance with State Farm in April of 2010. I was quoted to pay $243.79 a month. A month later, I got a letter from State Farm saying that my insurance had been decreased to $155.71 a month.
I got a letter this month saying that my policy is going up $231.97 and that a payment of $475.76 is due by June 28, 2010. I paid my June 28th premium on June 1, 2010. My policy is current. I spoke with Sharon (at State Farm) and she tells me that this increase is because of an accident that is on my driving record from November 2007. I asked her to send me a copy and she told me she would check with the underwriter and see what she can do.
How can State Farm charge me for something I dispute and they have not given me proof of? I went to the MVA and pulled a copy of my driving record and no where on it does it mention an accident of any kind. Sharon mentioned this accident to me when I first signed up and then told me everything was taken care of shortly after. I also had to fax her a copy of the police report that was not my fault in order for State Farm to lower my insurance premium because she told me that Geico had the accident on December 1, 2009 was my fault when I was hit in the back and they paid out.
I am asking for a freeze on my premium increase until such time the increase can be proven and justified. I can not afford anything more than the $155.71 that it was decreased to. Nothing has changed. I have not had any other accidents or infractions of any kind. Damage made me stressed about trying to keep my insurance. It is financially impossible for me to pay more than the $155.71 that I paid. I can not afford to loose my insurance or any of the consequences that come along with a lost of my auto insurance.
On July 7, 2010, I got a letter from the MVA fining me for lapsed insurance. According to the letter sent to me by State Farm, I had a few days until the cancellation date. I was able to get the money together to make my payment. The MVA is charging me $150 for me paying State Farm 12 after the 28th but before the cancellation date. On July 10, 2010, I got another letter from State Farm saying that I have made partial payments. That is not true because my premium was $155.71 and I paid it. State Farm is trying to charge me extra money for months past that I have already paid for. This letter also states that even though I paid my July 2010 insurance on June 1, 2010, State Farm is saying they are cancelling my insurance on July 20, 2010. To date, State Farm still has not supplied me with a written report with full details of a 2007 accident. Outcome: I am asking that State Farm be made to honor the lowering of my insurance premium of $155.71 until my six-month policy is up and they stop threatening to cancel my insurance.
Please send paper copies of any correspondence or other papers relating to this matter, which you feel would help our investigation of the complaint, by mail to the address below or fax to the either of the fax numbers below. I am again in danger of loosing my auto insurance. So much stress hoping to get justice and collecting all my supporting documents to send to various agencies for help. I can not afford an auto increase and I have not gotten any infractions.

I have had car insurance through State Farm for some time now. I had my auto insurance directly taken from my checking account. And in April of 2010, my insurance coverage was cancelled as I found out today, July 8, from a letter I received from Motor Vehicle suspension of my license. I went to the State Farm office, which a woman informed me I was sent a letter. (I never received such a letter) or I would’ve paid the bill. I assumed every month, the bill was being taken out. So because they sent a letter they say and nothing else, no other letters, no other attempts, I have to pay $200.00 to Motor Vehicle and try to find a new insurance agency.

I obtained auto insurance on April 7, 2010. I made first time payment of $240 (this was my policy premium first month payment) and no payment was due till May 30, 2010. On April 27, 2010, I obtained policy with Geico, because they gave me $160 monthly payment premium. I got insurance verification document same day from Geico and was told it has to be sent to State farm for cancellation.
On April 28 (next day) I sent this same document to State Farm and got confirmation from Gloria (one of Christine's representative) that she received my fax. Five minutes later, agent (Christine **) called me with my address questions. I changed my address and she needed any bill to proof change. I told her why she needed that proof when I submitted cancellation request. She told me state farm needed it anyway.
On June 2, 2010, I was charged again with $240, even when I canceled my policy one month before. I called back to Christine's office. She claimed to my face, I never submitted any cancellation notice to her and never sent the fax but she will take care of it. After one month, I received check in the amount of $143. Is it realistic to get this amount when in total I paid $480 and used insurance only for 21 days? She is telling me now that all of $337 (left amount) will not be refunded because I canceled my insurance and I have pay deposit. Sorry, it is not acceptable at all. They just make money lying to people. Thank you.

I don’t know what the delay is and I am going to contact the POLICE if you call again! “How’s that for customer service?! The best part is she wouldn't disclose her name to me, I had to find that out by calling back and speaking with a co-worker, her title there is "receptionist", and her "boss" was out on vacation.
It seems like the whole office goes out on vacation when he does. Terrible customer service and not to mention horrible scare tactics too!! I am disabled and now have whiplash, a damaged vehicle, and been harassed and threatened by they're receptionist. I will never be a client of State Farm Insurance and will be sure to let everyone I know hear what they have already put me through.

I was not even given a ticket, and never have had one either. Ironically, when I called to report the incident, I found out my insurance had lapsed during my divorce. I had received no notification and thought I had paid. Either way, I tried to reinstate it. One wreck and they refused to cover me. I wish I were exaggerating. I had to switch insurance companies. Farmers insured me with no question. I will be moving my homeowner's insurance as well.

A client of State Farm made a false claim to State Farm. I was not in any accident at all with this person or anyone else. I do not own a car, or a driver;s license, I do not even drive. I was sent a copy of a report of an auto accident and a bill from attorneys for damages and a copy of the claim of damages that State Farm paid. These damages are for an auto accident.
I can't see how people get away with things like this. I was cutting grass and a woman was headed in my direction, she passed till she got to the other end of the block. She walked back to where I was and claimed my lawnmower must have thrown a rock and crack her rear window. For one thing, how can a rock crack a rear window when she was headed towards you. I received the copy of the claim, a photo shows that a truck, the truck shown in the claim report is not the truck that has a cracked rear window.
The color of the truck in the report is not the color of the truck that the woman claims a rock cracked her rear window. The report shows damages from an auto accident in the reported photo. How can people like this make a false report and get away with it? He or she should be facing criminal charges. I have witnesses to the fact of what happened, they were watching the whole thing. If this matter continues, I will make my claim against State Farm and the persons involved. This is a scam.

I believe a company such as State Farm would like the people who help pay their salaries treated as people. I think they are very crude. I have been unable to complain directly to the company and it means anything. I have since replaced my insurance due to their statements.

My SUV was damaged on Thursday, 3rd June 2010. My vehicle is always kept in a garage as a monthly contract vehicle and most of the time, this vehicle is never moved or taken out for any reason. I carried out the right procedures of contacting the garage attendants and the manager of the garage who all knew nothing of this incident that occurred to my vehicle.
I also contacted the local 7th precinct police officer and police department who came into the garage and took a look at the vehicle to see the damage. The damage was done to the right side of the vehicle on the rear back panel of the rear tire.
The police officer instructed me to file a police civil report from the 7th precinct near the home and send it in to Albany which I did. I immediately called State Farm and filed a claim, which the young lady on the phone indicated to me to take the vehicle to the auto body shop of my choice to have my SUV fixed.
I was then instructed by the State Farm agent that an adjuster would be on his or her way to look at the damages to my vehicle. I also took the liberty to take pictures of the damage to my vehicle as proof of the incident. On Saturday, 5th June 2010, I called State Farm again to inquire about the delay on the whereabouts of the adjuster and they mentioned to me that the adjuster would be on his or her way to the body shop.
I also indicated to the representative that my bumper was falling off and waiting too long for the adjuster to come. I am being put out of my way in not having a vehicle to go to work. I mentioned to the agent that I have to begin work immediately due to the damage and the bumper falling off of which the agent verbally abused and insulted by me by saying that State Farm will not be paying for the damages to my vehicle at all .
This was uncalled for by the agent and State Farm. I have been a State Farm customer for 5 years and I have always paid my full comprehensive coverage in full. I should not have been treated this way. I called State Farm again after that awful incident today, Monday, 7th June 2010 to let them know once again I have not heard any news of the whereabouts of the adjuster and I have been given the runaround in addition to abuse and false information.
I was then told today by the agent of State Farm that the adjuster will only be there by this Thursday, a week from the time the incident had occurred and this has inconvenienced me tremendously. I then told the agent that I have already begun the work on my vehicle due to the bumper falling out and she told me that State Farm will not be paying for my damages at all.
This is outrageous and I refuse to have State Farm not pay for my damages of my vehicle. Can you please look into this incident for me? I have proof of everything that has occurred and I wish to submit it to State Farm in order to get my money refunded for paying for the damages to my vehicle when State Farm should have been held liable under my full coverage insurance. Thank you and I hope to hear from you soon .

My wife updated her address just recently with this insurance company. They told her that there won't be any increases due to an address change as it's within the city. We also wanted to add myself into her insurance as a driver as well. The reception Stephanie told my wife, “You don't have to add him in; as long as you give him permission to drive that will be fine.” My wife didn't said anything and came home with just the address changed.
She told me this and told me that sound odd. I've told her that I should be added in. The next day, I called them and got the receptionist Stephanie. I've told him I need to be added in as the primary driver of the vehicle. She stated that is something they don't do as there is nothing like that. I ended that call and told my wife what they said. My wife Sandy told me to call back and talk to Mike or Steve.
I called back the next day and talked to Steve. He told me that it should be no problem to add me as a driver and not sure why Stephanie would say what she said earlier. He told me he will talk to her about it. I was supposed to get a call back that day from Stephanie to gather some info.
I called back the next day as I was working and didn't get a chance to call them back. I got the receptionist Stephanie and she told me, “I call your wife back to apologize I gave her misinformation. All I need from you is your driver’s license to add you in.” I provided that information and asked as that all you need. She responded, “Yup.” The call ended.
About 1 week later, we receive her insurance policy in the mail. There was an increase somewhere about $100 more then she normally pay per 6 months. My wife was confused but was fine with it. My wife told me to go pay it the next time I'm available before the due date which was April 21st.
A week later, when I was about to go the insurance place to pay it, we received a letter from Sate Farm. Not sure what it was as it was not as thick as her policy. I looked and it was a one letter policy description stating disregard any previous bill and to pay this amount instead. It was close to $2,000 also to be due by April 21st. That was almost $400 plus increase from her original policy. I've told my wife this and she was shocked. I've told her it would be best for her to come and talk to State Farm. During this time frame my wife asked me to look around for other insurance prices.
Approximately another week later, we came there on around April 10th. We came there and spoke with the receptionist Stephanie. We asked her why the charge went up so high. She just sums it up to, “Rates has gone up.” We asked her to double check what was the rates that went up. She got another person to talk to us, which was Steve. He came back and stated, “The rates went up. Everywhere else went up. That's why yours went up.”
Seem as they just fed us one of those generic lines to get us off their backs. As I was able to get a different price, a lot cheaper than her current bill. So we canceled her policy. We asked Stephanie if we will get any money back as we canceled the policy 4 days earlier then the effective date. She stated, “Well if you did it will be small and mailed to you.” We left then.
Now it's May and we get this letter in the mail from State Farm Collections. On the letter it states, we only paid our premium up to April 14th and we canceled it for April 18th. So a 4 day difference which came to a bill of $42.50 premium still owing. I've contacted the number on the letter. I talked to them and they stated that it was due to an address change that you owe the Premium as there was a chance in March.
I've told the person over the phone that that's a weird charge as they told us there will not increase for doing that. The person over the phone stated that they cannot make any changes or reverse the charge without the Agent at the office of Corporate. But my best bet is to contact the insurance company you dealt with and speak to the Agent.
So I called and got Steve. I've described the situation to him. Steve told me, “Yeah that is odd why you still owe us when the effective date was for the 21st. I see it here. Well can I call you back when I contact corporate.” I provided my info and about 10 minutes later he called back. He did some looking and told me, “I see you were added and you have a ticket almost 3 years ago. That is why you showing owing that amount which is the remaining charge.” I responded, how that could be as it was never discussed to me. There will be such a charge due to the confusion with the receptionist Stephanie through this whole ordeal.
Steve responded after his repeated stance on the ticket and kept rephrasing that back to me. Steven finished his last line, “Bottom line you owe this money. Bottom line the company wants this money. I can't refund this for you.” After further heated discussion he told me he will discuss this with Stephanie and call me back.
1 week has passed no phone call. On the Friday of that week, I've called in and got the receptionist Stephanie. I had to tell my story again to her. Stephanie stated, “You had a ticket. I didn't know you had a ticket. Did you tell me you had a ticket?” I responded, “You never asked and at the time when adding me all you wanted was my driver license after all that confusion.” Stephanie replied, “Well, it's the ticket and I cannot refund this for you.” I responded, “Yes you can, the person at Your Collections department stated you just need to call them to waive the charge.” Stephanie answered, “Well I won't do that.” I responded, “You will as this should not be charged to me. Plus I was waiting a phone call back from one of you and never got a call back. I have voice mail and call display so there should be no reason why I didn't get that call.” Stephanie said, “Well, I will let one of them know to call you back.” I responded, “Please I need someone to call me back on this.” The call ended.
I got a call back later that day from Mike. I was unable to answer it at that time. I've called on Monday back. I spoke with Mike. I've explained my situation again. Mike responded, “Well the charge is the ticket. You didn't tell us you had a ticket and we are not responsible for looking at that. That's why you have to pay that amount.” So Mike disregarded my situation, the misinformation, the lack of customer service. I responded, “We you can and need to reverse this charge. The person I called stated they can with your approval.” Mike replied, “Well, I can't do it. Just give me the name and number of that person and I will be happy to tell them as I cannot do it myself.” I responded, “Well I don't recall their name but I do have their number. Anyone you talk there will be able to discuss this. This is your Collections agency.” I've provided the number.
Mike asked, “Collections?” I responded, “Yes this is State Farm's Collections.” Mike said, “No I'm going to have corporate to call you back and I would appreciate you don't call this office back again.” I responded, “Why is that?” Mike replied, “Well, you called in 2-3 times now to my office and was rude to workers. They all get paid well and don't need this from you.” I've responded, “Mike. I was not rude to them. I've called your office once and was waiting for a call back and never received any so I've call back. I have never spoken badly about them nor was rude directly to them. We might have spoken loudly to each other that were about it.” Mike responded, “I'll get corporate to call you.” As I was stating, “I need them to contact me back,” Mike hung up the phone before I could finish.
That was the story. A really bad experience! I cannot relate this to this company as a whole. But the people working in this office were appalling. They would rather fight their mistake then accept it and waive the charge.

We have had all of our insurance through State Farm for at least 35 years. Now, they are making us pay a surcharge of $40 per month for 36 months. That is paying back the $1,500 that they paid. What good is the insurance if we have to pay it back? I am so angry that they are doing this. Then, I called our Agency David in Angleton to get a number for the main offices. I have a dozing company for 10 years, everything I own is diesel, I repair and maintain all of my own equipment. I live in Missouri, so I actually work full time from about March to October depending on the weather. I am known well in my local area and business finds me. The season was starting and I was on my way to a job,I had drove it 2-3 weeks prior, I went out to my 1993 Peterbilt with a 425 Cat engine and started it up while I loaded a dozer. I noticed black smoke rolling like crazy, stopped and ran to the truck to find out what was going on, what I found wasn't good. I checked all the fluids and they smelled and looked totally different then as they should. I knew then that someone had tampered with my truck. I called my finance' , I was ready to shoot something but she was thinking more level-headed, called State Farm, my insurance company that I have had for years. They told me an agent would be by. A few days passed and he did come by, then I got a call to take it to Peterbilt, 150 miles away, (experts) so I did, Peterbilt said something was amiss, they sent off samples of the oil.
State Farm sent more experts down and the experts, determined that I was at fault for not putting in the correct antifreeze in the radiator. I have had this truck since 2004, I think it would have blown before now if that was the case. I knew that that wasn't it. I mechanic all of my own equipment. I asked State Farm for the results of the test and they refused to provide it, by law, they don't have to, So I called Peterbilt, had the test ran again and paid for it myself.
The results came back with 5,000 parts chlorine (bleach) and Acid, it softened and then cracked the sills to where they were brittle, allowing the antifreeze to flow into my engine through the injector pump, turbo etc. I really can't say if it was poured into the antifreeze or into the engine or oil, I don't know, I just know the damage it caused. When I ask Shelly how the glass got into my fuel tank she stated again that it was due to the fact that I had put in the wrong antifreeze?! So much for her experts. I really don't know when this tampering was done, I believe from me driving it here and there and those fluids running through it continued to eat the sills until they finally where done for. We have the fluid taken from Peterbilt, the results and pictures. It is just plain wrong.
From State Farm refusing to pay on, what to me and Peterbilt is an obvious claim. Has brought down not only my small company, but my family as well. We have sold everything we can to stay afloat while trying to figure out how to get this truck back home it's 150 miles away and torn apart. The jobs I did have are now gone, The truck was my sole support and at this point, I will lose my home and everything that is left. I have equipment I can't move and the property they are on, the owner will claim them for storage fees, My fiance' moved to Texas for a job and we were to follow at the end of the season. Now, our family is divided. Hire a lawyer you say?
Every decent Lawyer has been retained by State Farm. At this point, I can't even afford a lawyer. The one I did find told me this seemed to be a rush case and would work on a %. Then he said, after 2 weeks, he couldn't get to it quick enough and to locate another attorney, I have tried. Again, they are hired on retainer for State Farm. On an average, I earn about $200,000 a year during the season, I have made $700 this year without using the truck and my equipment. I will lose everything I have worked the last 10 years for over this. I blame State Farm!

My car was hit about two weeks ago by a State Farm insured driver. That driver did admit fault, and my car was sent in to one of their listed repair shops here in the area. In the meantime, State Farm was going to pay for the use of a rental vehicle while my car was being repaired. The care rental facility gave me a receipt stating that I had use of the car (which was being paid for by State Farm) until May 31st, 2010 and that it needed to be returned by 4:30pm on that date. So far, so good.
When I received a call indicating that my car was ready on May 28th at 4:30pm, I tried calling back, but the shop had closed for the day. I called the repair shop back that very next morning. I then asked how much time I had to come get my car before I might be charged storage fees etc. They said no problem, due to the holiday weekend (Memorial Day) I could wait until that coming Tuesday, June 1st. I then proceeded to call the rental car agency to see when I would need to return that car, because at this time I then realized that the holiday weekend (which I had not even thought about up until the call to the repair shop), may pose a problem.
The car rental agency said "no problem", the insurance company would more than likely cover the extra days because of the holiday weekend interfering with the date that was given to me to return the car. I asked them to verify this, they went away for a moment, returned, and stated, "Tuesday (June 1st), would be fine.” So, I went by "Tuesday would be fine". Well, apparently, according to State Farm, Tuesday was not fine, and upon trying to return the car to the rental company, I was told that I owed for 4 more days of rental and would have to pay for those extra days. Oh, by the way...I was also told by a State Farm claims adjuster on the phone that, "If I were you, I would have just taken the car back already, then I would not have had these problems.”
How dare she? At any rate, after literally having to state my case over and over again to both the rental agency, and State Farm, I did not pay anything. The rental company ate the extra cost. However, State Farm still stood firm and was not going to accept non-payment, even though they were partially to blame for their misunderstanding. I always felt that this matter should have been between State Farm and the rental car company. Not me as the consumer. Now, I have an issue with the paint job that the repair shop did. The entire car needs to be painted, not just the part that was hit. It looks bad. I will call my insurance company and have them hash it out.
I will be glad when this is all completely over with. I certainly didn't hit my own car. Physical Damage: passenger side of care dented in and scrapped all along the entire side. Mirror on passenger side broken off. Driver's side window will not go down without door opened, paint where window goes up, scrapped off. Undercarriage possibly bent; they are checking this out now.

After enjoying a wonderful relation with a wonderful agent with Allstate, he had to leave to help family. The new agent never acknowledged us in any way and our payments went sky high for no reason. We decided to go with another agency altogether. Although we had State Darm in the distant past and were not happy with that agent, we decided to give the company another try.
The quote was great and we paid for the first month and made arrangements for the second month, as we wanted to be ahead a month. We were never told they needed proof of our old insurance, at that time. They later called and asked for it. I told them I didn't understand why they wanted it but I would send in a copy of one of the cards, which I did.
I got the next bill and went into the office to pay for it, and was told they were sending a cancellation notice, since they didn't get it. I told them I had sent it and why didn't someone call asking about it? I showed the rep. the card and she made a copy of it and said that's all they needed. She then took my payment which would put me ahead one month.
I then got cancellation notices in the mail and the reason for them was because I supposedly hadn't given proof of prior insurance. I called the rep and she said that she wanted something in writing. She said that the cards were not enough for them.
I called State Farm headquarters and the rep couldn't understand why she asked for a letter. I asked them what did it matter if someone had insurance before anyway. Aren't they in the business of selling insurance? I give you money and you give me coverage? He couldn't answer why that would matter if someone had insurance or not.
My son called to see when we would be receiving the new cards and the person said that the cancellation was cancelled, and again didn't understand the problem and stated that my cards were scanned and everything was just fine as far as they were concerned.
I just talked to the rep again, and she proceeds to tell that no, we are still going to be cancelled if they don't get in writing that we had insurance, and that they do not insure anyone who never had insurance before and never did! Everyone starts out new sometime. We did, and State Farm insured us back then!
Does anyone know anything about these made up policies and why would this company encourage their reps to lie like this and treat people so horribly? By the way, both checks were cleared in record time and we had 4 vehicles insured with them, but now they have lost the business of 6 people in our family and an additional 20 are cancelling because of this. They are fed up too.

A customer of Statefarm Insurance was pulling out of a parking space and struck my wife's car. The police was called and the officer filed a police report, reported what happened and even drew pictures on the report so there would be no mistake. Then, the officer gave the Statefarm driver a citation for failure to yield the right of way.
Now, Statefarm told me that they are not going to pay for damages because they conducted their own investigation and do not believe that it was their fault. I recently was laid off and had to raise the deductible on my insurance so I would basically have to pay out-of-pocket to repair the damages that they caused. Do I have any other recourse?
Damages are less than $500 but I simply don't have it and they should pay for the damages they caused.

I got my first car and went to State Farm to get it insured because "Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there". Yeah, sure, more like "I'll turn my back on you when you need us!"
I have been with them since January 2008. During this period I changed vehicles and still stayed with them. The first thing they need to do when you have a new car insured with them is to take pictures of how it is when you bring it in to them. In my case, they only did it for my first car not for my second, which was very irresponsible.
They added me to my parents' policy without even consulting with me. I found out when I had my first incident and had to come to them since they take all my money and do God knows what with it. I'm sorry but I need to be open up about this because I do not want anyone to go through what I went through. On Friday morning in March 2010, I wake up to find my car on blocks and a jack! Can you imagine waking up to this? The thought of you sleeping and for someone to come and touch your car with bad intentions just creeps me out. My car is not parked on the street. It's parked outside of our garage door.
I had to call out of work to take care of all of this by going to my State Farm agent. I took pictures of everything before I went to them. They took all my information down, etc. They called their headquarters so they can take my statement, etc. They said to me that they have an Auto Body that works for their claims and that if I went through them, this process would go much faster.
I wanted to get my car back asap so I agreed. That same day, they sent a tow truck to pick up my car and drop it off at the body shop. Can you believe they failed to let the tow truck company know that my car had no tires? How can that happen? Negligence, that's how. So when the guy comes, he says that he can't move my car like that because he was going to severely damage it. We had to pay this guy to come and take the tires off my sister's car, use the blocks the thieves left my car on and put my sister's car on those blocks, to then put my sister's tires on my car so they could tow it away. The body shop was closed by the time we were done, so they had to leave it at the tow truck's company garage. They damaged the paint on my car doing all of this.
My car was on a lift at this place for 2 weeks and I get a call from the body shop and, in the nastiest tone, they said to get my car out because it was holding up space. I had no tires to move it, so what was I going to do? A State Farm employee asked me if I could "borrow" tires from someone. Are you kidding me? I called my agent and they wanted me to call the body shop and ask them to wait, that an investigator was going to go and inspect the car and I said, "No, you call."
I had to call headquarters millions of times because they never call back. They gave me horrible customer service, horrible! They are horrible at following up with you. Nearly a month after the incident, I got a call to go pick up my car. When I went, they didn't want to give it to me because State Farm had not sent them the check. I was so upset. That was a horrible experience for me. 2 months have passed and my agent has not called once to see how things went. It's horrible service from them and from their headquarters. This lady and I argued over the phone because she basically called me a liar. I am a super calm person but this injustice brought out the monster in me. I felt abused, violated, offended. After this, I came to a decision to take my business elsewhere and find a new auto insurance provider.
Can you believe that I received a letter from them stating that I was not eligible to renew my policy with them and listed my incident as one of the reasons? They dropped me! My 4 rims and tires were stolen while I was at home sleeping and you do this? I have never had anything happen to my car in all the years I've had a license. I've been driving for 10 yrs and I thank God that I have never had an accident or any type of moving violation, etc. A+++ driver and this is how you treat a responsible driver and a loyal customer? Again, where did all my money go? I swear I feel that I threw my money out the window. All those months paying on time with auto pay, renewing with them even though they kept getting more and more expensive every 6 months and never understanding why. When I asked, they gave me lame excuses. Thousands and thousands of dollars and after all those years I needed them for something that is not my fault and this is how they handle it.
This is my first time putting my story out there but I feel that I need to make everyone aware of how this company does business and the horrible service they provide. I thought we paid auto insurance to cover ourselves for any unexpected incident. What a lie. They just run and leave you hanging. If you have a choice, don't choose them. They are not worth you throwing your money away. I hope my story and the others open up everyone's eyes to the truth behind this company.

My ex-wife and I started our divorce almost two years ago. A few months after our separation, I was contacted by my ex requesting that I meet her in our insurance agent's office, Brian **, in Somerset, PA. I agreed and met her there. When I went into the office, she was already seated in the chair in front of the agent's desk and paperwork was laid on the table in font of her. I asked Brian what was going on and he mentioned that Mrs. ** wanted the permission to deposit money into the children's life insurance policies and help keep them current. The policies were taken out when the children were two weeks old and my stepdaughter's was taken out when she was three. I paid solely into these accounts each month. I signed the paperwork thinking I was only giving her permission to deposit money. I was wrong.
A few months later, I called the office and asked about getting the info because I needed it for my lawyers and I was told I no longer had access to those accounts. I was confused as to why and was told that by signing that papers, I gave up all rights to the policies and gave them to my ex. That was not how it was explained to me. I called today about a letter I received that that kids' life insurance policies have lapsed and a few months ago she was looking into the amount of assets in them available for withdrawal.
After we separated, the ex-wife wrecked her car and needed it repaired and of course, the amount of insurance per month went up. I called and requested the deductibles be changed and the office complied with the request. I was told I was the only one that could make the changes because I was the primary account holder. I have been with the same office of State Farm since I was 18. When I requested that the accounts be closed, I was told I could not do that. I asked why and Mr. ** said I was not the primary holder of this account. I could not believe this! I asked how did this happen and he said that he would have to find the paperwork and see exactly what I was entitled to do on this account. I never at anytime was told that my name was removed as primary holder. I do have recordings that have been left by Mr. **'s office stating that, "We can find a backdoor way to get your ex's (Heidi) name off the accounts." I was back doored alright. Now I have no control over these accounts and it all started with a lie to get my ex-wife the life insurance policies that I paid into.
The car insurance has been a big issue. I wanted to separate the accounts but Mr. ** again told me that I would have to get her to sign over the title before he could remove them because her name was still on it. I complied and she signed the vehicle over. I separated the account and thought that was all. Wrong again. They transferred all the accounts and not just the one vehicle. I once again had to call them and tell them they did it wrong and needed to redo everything they just moved. It has been a constant battle on who lives where and who is paying for what in that office. It's simple, my vehicle comes to me and the rest just stay were they are at.
Because my name was removed from these accounts without me being informed, the insurance is now scheduled to be canceled as of May 31st (per a phone message). The results of the loss of the life insurance policies ranges in the thousands of dollars. Each of the children's policies have declined in value because they are not being paid. The result of the fighting over the primary insurance holder is going to cause me to lose the insurance on one of my vehicles and I will no longer be able to use that car and try to seek out other car insurance.

I was recently hit by a State Farm Insurance and proceeded to attempt to make a claim. Although, there is a place on their website to initiate a claim, when it asked me to enter a zip code to locate a claims office, my zip code resulted in no hits. Are you kidding me? No claims office for a city the size of Colorado Springs? I widened my search for the entire state of Colorado and the only office that came up was in Greely. Is this the largest insurer of autos in the US?
After searching the website thoroughly, I could find no toll free number for claims so I tried calling one of the local agents. I knew, of course, that they would not be open as this was on a Saturday. But on my third try, I got what I was hoping for, a phone link to a claims number. After linking over, I was put on hold and told it would be 5-10 minutes before I was even answered! What a way to do business. My insurance company has a 24 hour dedicated service to take claims calls and start claims process. Now, I know why I do not do business with giant of ** service. They give you a thousand contacts to buy but none to get service with!

I had the police fill out a report covering all of the damage at that time. When I took the car to be repaired, I was told that some of it was preexisting damage and although they were replacing a part that was actually damaged in what they covered, they said that I should pay half. Day after day, we fought about it and I even called my agent which has been my agent for 15 of the 18 years and even he couldn't help get it resolved. So, after 18 years of being with State Farm, cars, motor home, home, etc., I am leaving them.

So I asked Tom for the best coverage I could get and I went from 2004 to a brand new car which I knew went up and I knew the coverage went up to I was sure I had liability as well as medical. And anything else I need as a business in Phoenix just starting out. I trusted Tom * and Coby.
After I moved here, I moved to Jacksonville and asked Shirley to please don't deposit my check and she said she would stop it. And I would pay her on the 3rd of May with a credit card and I told her I would use my Dad's. She said okay, that if she did that I would have to pay them a extra $56 every month for three months to make May payments. And I asked her, "Don't I get a grace period or something?" I said, "It didn't sound right so don't deposit my check," and they did and I got a overdraft fee and had to pay $167.30 + $35 = $202 is what I owe the bank and when I got hurt from getting hit from behind, they told me I have no coverage for medical or anything like that. It does not sound right to me. I made it perfectly clear that I have professional liability for me and my business when I go in to people's homes, why wouldn't I have it for my car? I have never owned a car nor had car insurance before, so I was really a novice on ins and outs of how car insurance policies work, and how State Farm was capable of doing things that put individuals and drivers like me at risk by suddenly canceling your insurance policy over their own internal mistakes that they will not accept responsibility for. I am getting a serious lesson in this right as I type this. I was recently sent a notice by the NYDMV office that State Farm canceled my (April 2009-April 2010) car insurance policy in Jan. 2010 after a 9-month period, when I actually made payments for 10 months that were supposed to take me through to February 2010. I had 2 months left to pay off my insurance policy but they canceled me a month earlier for lack of payment, which is not the case and definitely shouldn't have been done. I have my Chase Bank account statements that show every payment I made directly to State Farm. Because of this cancellation, my car registration was suspended, and was being charged $8 per day for every day I did not have insurance coverage.
84 days went by without my knowledge of the cancellation, and as soon as I did get the DMV notice, I immediately went to address this issue with them. I was told that my driver's license was also in jeopardy of being suspended as well! After I showed the DMV clerk who attended me my Chase Bank statements showing my payments of 10 months, the clerk gave me a NY insurance complaint form to report State Farm for canceling my policy a month before they were supposed to and for canceling me for non payment when my records show and prove otherwise. I have been addressing this issue with my State Farm agent since December 2009 and really tried to get some assistance over the last 2 days from SF customer support and an SF supervisor, all to no avail. My State Farm agent, nor any SF rep seem eager to want to get this issue cleared up for me so I can get my registration reinstated and I can drive my car and get back to my life. I have no problem paying the remaining 2 months of my policy, but not the 3 months State Farm claims I have to pay, especially after paying for 10 months in advance. But I will never use State Farm again!
Last March 2009, I was invited by my father to join State Farm Insurance since he already had car insurance through them. I was given a policy through his existing account. My first 6 months premium was $469.03 (at a rate of 78.17 per month). I paid $78.17 the first 3 months of April, May, and June 2009 individually on the first week of every month. Then in July 2009, I called my State Farm agent in Medford, Long Island, NY, Dan T., who personally dealt with me and I informed him that I wanted to change my payment method and do it through my own personal Chase Bank account. He informed me that it would be no problem.
I told him that I wanted to pay lump sums in advance instead of monthly payments from now on. He said that would be fine as well and gave me a number of $312.69 that I could pay. He didn't inform me of any restrictions, fee charges, or that my payment would be used in any other way except for my car insurance payment. I agreed to the amount and made the payment after I gave him my Chase Bank card routing number to make the transaction and collect the payment. When he gave me the number amount of $312.69, I realized that this amount divided by 4 was $78.17, so I took it that I was making a 4-month payment that would cover me for July, August, September, and October 2009 with my next payment due in November 2009. I noted that in my personal records. I then received a declarations page the very next month in August that stated that my new premium for November 2009 through April 2010 would be $374.14. I was fine with that and didn't give it a second thought.
3 months passed and then I received a bill due notice from State Farm in October 2009. Receiving a payment due notice after 3 months caught my attention, but I knew that I was already paid up in advance up to November 2009. So I called Dan ** and made another 3-month payment of $255. I was told my premium went up to $508 per 6 months at a rate of $85/month, up from $78. I wasn't too thrilled about that, but I made a 3-month payment of $255 that I believed would then cover me until February 2010. My State Farm agent, Dan T., never clarified or explained in any way that I was actually paying for the period of October-December 2009. I would have stopped him right there to remind him that I already paid for October 2009 and made the 4-month payment ($312.69) the first week of July 2009 after I made the 3 monthly payments of $78.17 for the first 3 months (April, May, June 2009) of my new policy. Here's the math. The first 3 months I paid the first weeks of April, May, and June 2009 ($78.17 times 3 is equal to $234.51). Then I start paying through my Chase Bank account debit card in July 2009 and made a 4-month payment of $312.69 ($312.69 divided by 4 is equal to $78.17). Pretty clear and simple to see that, right?
The first 3 monthly payments total $234.51 plus the $312.69 payment in July 2009 total $547.20! That covers the first 6 month premium of $469.03, and clearly means there was a remaining $78.17 that I paid in advance. Here's the math: $547.20 minus $78.17 is $469.03). Very clear and simple to see that, too. The $78.17 is not a coincidence, that's what I was paying all along.
The remaining $78.17 is either an amount I overpaid, or what I believed was a payment that covers November 2009, the first month of the 6 months remaining in the second half of my policy, just as it stated in the Declarations Page State Farm mailed me in August that the new policy period was for Nov. 2009 through April 2010and the premium for those 5 months remaining was to be $374.14. I have this Declaration Page in my records. At no time did my SF agent Dan T. explain what months I was paying for, nor did he inform me that what I believed was a 4 month payment ($312.69) in July 2009 was actually a three month payment! That's when things really started going awry, everything changed, and went downhill from there.
This gets more perplexing and frustrating. After I made the 4-month payment in July 2009, I then received a new payment due notice 3 months later from State Farm in October 2009. I made a 3 month advance payment of $255 that should have covered me until February 2009. I then received a bill due notice in early December 2009 telling me I have to make a payment in January 2010 and not February 2010 or my policy would be canceled! That was enough for me. I decided to stop dealing over the phone or online and went over to my State Farm agent's office, the office of Jim S, on Route 112 in Medford, Long Island, NY to deal with this personally and to get this all straightened out. I was totally confused as to why I was expected to pay for 3 months instead of the remaining 2 months, especially after paying for 10 months in advance. Finally, here we go.
The managing State Farm agent there, Jim S., was not there, nor was the agent I had been dealing with on the phone all along, Dan T., there at the time either. A woman agent whose name is Barbara was there and offered to assist me. When I brought to her attention that I had paid 10 months on my car insurance policy in advance, and went through my records with her that proved that, she said their records showed I only paid 9 months and that there was 3 months left to pay for to complete my policy for the year. I happened to bring my father along for this visit to our State Farm agent's office. I asked her to show me the records of my payments that include the first 3 payments with my father, and then the payments I made in July 2009 and October 2009, so we can add them up. She did not supply me with my policy payment records because she couldn't access them on her computer. She instead opted to show me her version of my payment breakdown by writing it on a piece of paper! I couldn't believe it. I then directed her to call the NY Regional Office to get my payment history sent to her. She really didn't want to do it, but I was not leaving the office without having my policy payment situation all cleared up so that we were all on the same page.
When she called the Regional office, they gave her the information on the phone. I wanted a copy but she said she couldn't supply it because her computer was acting up. How convenient. She then informs me and acknowledges that I did make a $312.69 payment in July 2009, but that only $234.71 was actually used on my policy, and that $78 of my $312.69 payment was credited to my father's account! I asked her how can that be possible? I didn't make a payment for anyone else's car insurance, including my father's, and I didn't authorize for my Chase debit card to be used to pay someone else's account. She said State Farm can do that and that's what they did! With my father as surprised as I was as he was sitting right next t me, I told her to have my money transferred to my account. She responded by saying they couldn't do that. I asked her how that can be. I paid for my own insurance policy!
They were absolutely wrong and out of line to take a portion of my own insurance payment to cover someone else's insurance. She became rude and offensive as I kept asking more questions on their procedures, lack of quality service, and for her reluctance in getting a copy of my payment history from them, so that I could see exactly what was done with my payments and where it went. She then, in a very condescending manner, told me that I should ask my father to pay me back my money. I responded to her by saying I didn't give him my money, State Farm did. It was your mistake. Why should go chasing after anyone when my Chase debit card information was given to Dan T. and State Farm? She then asks me if I would feel better if she were to write out a check to me in the amount of $78.17 and send it to my home address. I responded by asking her why couldn't she just have that money accredited to my policy instead of sending a check to my home? She became even more defensive and rude toward me and I just wanted to get out of there. I told her to send the check to my home and that I would then pay the rest of the 3 months to finish out my car insurance policy with them.
My personal SF agent, Dan T, showed up right at that moment, and tried to calm the situation down by speaking nicely but in the end he also said there was nothing they could do about the money taken out of my Chase debit card to credit my father's account, and that, by law, State Farm could do that. My question was very clear at that moment. Why? Why was my payment accredited to my father's account? I wasn't given a clear or satisfactory answer that made any sense. I paid you in advance, but you take a portion of my own payment to pay for someone else's insurance? No way! I told Dan T right there that he knows they are wrong, and I fully expect for them to clarify their major gaffe, get my money that I already paid back into my account, and that I would pay the remaining 2 months of the policy in February 2010 that would cover February and March 2010, to end my policy payments.
At the very least, to have Barbara do as she offered to do and send me a check to my home in the amount erroneously taken without my knowledge or authorization, so I can add that to the remaining 2 months that I was more than eager to pay off already. Of course, they decided not to do any of that. They didn't credit my account with the amount they took from my Chase Debit Card payment, they didn't mail me a check as Barbara said she would, and they just canceled my insurance in January and left me out to dry.
When I left the SF office that day, I got home and immediately started looking for another car insurance agency that I could switch to. I sent out for quotes and got contacted by an Allstate agent, who informed me that since it was my first year of having car insurance, I could not change over to a new insurance agency at that time, and that I had to complete the year out with State Farm before changing. That's exactly what I decided to do. And as soon as April came, I started looking for a new insurance agency again, and got contacted by the same agent I spoke with from Allstate, and chose to get insured through them and paid 6 months in advance! The only problem was I didn't know that State Farm had canceled my insurance since January 2010! I used to get my notices in my e-mail--that ended. I had access to my State Farm policy payment history online. They cut me off from having access to my payment history so that I can print it out for my records! I never ever imagined that I would be going through this situation with State Farm. I knew insurance companies were cold and shady, but wow!
When I finally received the NYDMV notice about State Farm informing them that they canceled my car insurance, I went to the DMV office right away the next morning. When I produced my Chase Bank statements to the DMV reps, they saw that I did make payments that should have covered me through until February 2010. That's when they gave me a NY Insurance Dept. complaint form to report State Farm. They also encouraged me to contact State Farm and have them write a letter stating that a mistake was made with my insurance payment, that I am paying for the remaining two months on my insurance policy. Or to state that my insurance policy account was accredited with the $78.17 taken from me, and that I then paid off the remaining 3 months of my policy with them.
I called my agent, Dan T., at the SF office in Long Island, and he refused to even want to assist me, telling me that since my insurance policy was canceled, the matter had nothing to do with them now and directed me to contact State Farm's NY Regional Office for assistance. He was definitely not looking to be nice now. He was cold and reluctant to assist me after he was the one who got me into this mess by not clarifying things with me, not providing me with all the information I should have known since day one of dealing with him personally, and for failing to take an approach to resolve the matter instead of hiding behind State Farm rules and regulations that he says, by law, allows them to take money from my payments and accredit it to someone else's account. Outrageous!
Well, I called the State Farm NY Regional office and wheat they are telling me now is that the ($312.69) payment I made in July 2009 actually covered June, July, August, and September! That's not what I was told by Dan T. and Barbara at Jim S's State Farm office! I made 3 one month payments in April 2009 to start the account. Then in May and June 2009 through my father's account. Then in July 2009, I called my agent, Dan T., and requested that my payment method be changed so that I can pay lump sums in advance. At no time during that call in July 2009 did Dan T. tell me I hadn't paid for June 2009, nor that a portion of my payment was going towards my father's account. That is the whole truth and nothing but. This is criminal the way they try to cover their asses instead of addressing a mistake, an error, something that can be fixed so easily! For $78.17?
They claim they're like "good neighbors"? They are anything but. I feel absolutely betrayed and violated by State Farm just for the simple fact that they coldly terminated my coverage when they shouldn't have, and placed my life and the lives of my family members in danger since I have been driving around without insurance and my car registration suspended for more than 2 months! I did not know how they could be so cruel to do that, and my personal SF agent never even bothered calling me to make sure I was clear as to what was going to happen. I've been driving around awaiting to pay my next due notice online (as I requested to receive them through my e-mail address) and make the final payment due in February 2010, which should have been a 2 month payment of $170 or so. It is a miracle I didn't get pulled over by a police officer or got into any accident during that time. I would have been in a hell of a lot of trouble and dragged to jail if I would have been in a car accident that hurt someone in the street, another car, or a family member in my own car with no car insurance and my car registration suspended without me knowing!
This is something so simple to fix, but they just don't care to help or even address this was an internal mistake. All I want is for State Farm to do is to allow me to have a copy of my policy/account payment records. This will show proof of my 10 months of payments easily. I want to pay off my remaining 2 months of my policy as I was always ready to do so that I can drive my car safely again.

On September 6 of 2008, my motorcycle was stolen from my driveway. It was recovered the next day. I paid for the towing, was reimbursed for that and then I paid the deductible. The person responsible for the theft was apprehended and found liable for damages caused during the theft.
A judgment was filed through the AG office here in AK, and the person was ordered to repay for the damages caused. This was 19 months ago and I am still waiting for my money to be returned to me. I think that it is insane to have to wait for $100.00, when this company is a Fortune 500 company. Why should I have to wait for a $100.00 check when I gave them well over $30,000 over the past 20 years? I was a customer of State Farm for over 20 years and the fact that I still have not received the money owed to me, as well as they would not work with me on the price I paid for insurance on the house, car, motorcycle and health. They have lost my business forever.
It is not the economic or physical issues that bug the ** out of me. It is the ** time that it has taken for me to recoup the funds that I shelled out. To take over 19 months to get a $100.00 check from a Fortune 500 company is **.

State Farm insurance has delayed and stalled my medical treatments and mouth and dental work for years. They told me at time of accident that I did not need an attorney since I was not a driver in this auto accident and that their attorneys were mine, so no need for attorney. State Farm has been paying most medical, chiro, dental over the years and made an agreement with me not to hire attorney and they would pay bills as they came in and I could take my time due to pain in so many places on body and mouth. I could only take so much pain at a time and still try to maintain employment.
Now, comes a time that State Farm says money is exhausted and now need to claim off the non-insured portion. This was in 2010 but within a month backed out. I asked why. State Farm response was our attorneys are now informing us that their advice is to hire your own attorney. So I did but that. Attorney is saying State Farm is backing out so he does not think he can win case and has dropped it but informed me that this needs to be reported to this State Farm's insurance company as a complaint of post fraud against State Farm or to try to resolve and I should go for a settlement rather than an agreement which they are now backing out of.
State Farm should have never said their attorneys were mine and I believed this all these years because they did pay bills from 93-05, well past statue of limitations, but yet now they are claiming closed due to statue of limitations but it has been open from again 93-05-- therefore statue should be from 05 and they have stalled since 08 to pay further which may result in a new statue being closed on me. Also, I have issues with them on homeowners policy where a person falsely stole and sold my home, a reality company and they refused to let me file a claim with State Farm, causing me that home, which is at a loss since 96. All proper authorities have been informed like police, state attorney office as theft but State Farm refuses any coverage because they say illegal sale of my home and stolen deed is not covered under homeowners. I think it is covered and I still do not have a home today because they allowed this activity by reality agent by not taking a claim for me in Pompano Beach, FL.

I was in an accident with one of their insurers on April 4, 2010. I contacted State Farm on April 7, 2010, informing them that one of their insurer had hit me, and she stated that she had been informed and that she also had my insurance information and the only thing she required was the police report. She stated that she would send me the claim number and other pertinent information in writing, which she did. She informed me that they were doing an investigation, and that the insurer's son would send her a copy of the police report. They are refusing to rent me a car and continue to tell me that they are doing an investigation.
As of today, I have not heard from them. Finally I called them and Mrs. ** informed me that they were still investigating the accident, but in the meantime she does not have a physical copy of the police report. I feel that she is just procrastinating. It is impossible for her to do an investigation legally and completely if she does not have a report of what happened. I am being forced to file my claim on my insurance in order to get a rental car. At no time has Mrs. Bobbie **, Claim Representative, called me and I have already incurred $230 in fees from storage and towing. She informed me that they would not pay for the storage expenses and that I would have to mitigate my own damages, so I have been forced to tow my car home and let it sit in my yard. She stated that I should "use my own collision coverage." Because of this, I am forced to drive a vehicle that uses over $80 weekly for gas, just to go back and forth to my medical appointments. This has been a strain for me economically.

My number is 631-, State Farms number is 877-. Since the callers are from the 631 area code, and without them dialing the 1 first, the calls come directly to me.
Now I have contacted them several times by email and by phone telling them about my problem. How they need to put out a letter of some sort to have insurance agents send out letter to tell this people, any time calling out of your area you must dial 1. This now has been going on for a month and I am truly tired of it. I am not changing my cell phone number for I have had this number for many many years. It's their job to get this corrected. Otherwise just send me money to pay my cell phone bill. They are using up my cell phone minutes. I want them to pay my bill or take care of the matter. My son, after leaving my policy, kept his auto insurance with State Farm. He had coverage with them since 2005. In 2008, he was sideswiped by a car that ran a stop sign. In 2009, he was backed into twice and a deer ran into the side of his car. He used the tow service because of losing car keys and car had to go to dealership to get a key and security code. State Farm only paid out for the tow service.
Last week, he received notification that his collision and comprehensive was being cancelled due to household usage. In other words, they cancelled his insurance according to the agent for the incidents from 2004 that were not involving his automobile or driving record.
When questioned, my son was told it was due to the five incidents over the last two years. Each incident other than the tow charge was covered by other insurance coverage. When asked why he was penalized, he was told "just was" and that he really didn't want any of the family business any longer. Totally unprofessional!
My wife and I have used State Farm for home, auto, life and health. They have taken quite a bit of monies from us. At one time we had two teenagers and five vehicles that we were paying for coverage. Don't know but will do my best to make sure everyone I know just what a "great" company they are and how they will look after their customers. Yeah right!

A State Farm client's daughter (college student) hit my parked car on February 19, 2010 (a Saturday). She was honest enough to stop and tell me, and we exchanged insurance info, and driver's license numbers. She said she wanted to pay for the damage herself, and not tell her parents, because she had already wrecked a car that winter, and they'd be angry. She would only give me her cell number, not her parents' number. I felt sorry for the girl, so (stupidly, I now realize) I agreed.
I took the car to my regular shop (which replaces lights but doesn't do body work) on Monday morning. They gave me an estimate, but said it would probably be cheaper to get the light fixed when I had the other damage repaired. It was then that I realized the front fender was crumpled. I hadn't noticed before, because the damage wasn't obvious at first glance (the car was filthy from being parked on the street for a week and having slush splashed all over it) and I (again, stupidly) hadn't examined anything other than the light.
I immediately went to a body shop, where they found damage to the tail light, rear quarter panel, front fender, bumper and mirror. They gave me an estimate for more than $1,700, not including a rental car. I knew the girl wouldn't have that kind of money, so I called and told her that she should let her parents know, so they could file a claim through their insurance. She still hadn't called me by Friday, so I called again and left a message, that if she didn't get in touch by Monday, I would file a claim myself, which is what happened. State Farm said they'd have to talk with their client. When I didn't hear from them, I kept calling back, and they kept telling me they hadn't heard from anyone. I made sure they had the girl's cell number, in addition to the info on her parents' policy, and waited some more.
I finally got someone to agree to send an estimator, even though they still hadn't heard from the client. It was two or three weeks after the accident when he saw the car. He said the estimate I got from the body shop was in line with the damage to the vehicle. I waited some more, but still didn't hear from State Farm, and kept calling. They kept telling me they hadn't heard from their client, and couldn't take any action until they did (this was contrary to what one of their people had told me earlier, that if 30 days passed with no response from the client, they'd just pay the claim). They said they tried to call the girl, and she wouldn't answer the phone.
Finally, after 5 weeks, they managed to talk with her, and she admitted damaging the tail light, but denied any other damages. I will admit she might not have noticed it at the time, because we were both upset, and the front damage wasn't obvious when the car was covered in dirt. So, State Farm said they would pay only for the tail light, and rear quarter panel. Their position was that if only one of us was telling the truth, it had to be their client.
Apparently the fact that the front damage is at exactly the same height as the smashed tail light didn't matter. They said the car could have been hit again between Saturday afternoon, and Monday morning, even though I told them it had been parked in front of my house for three years, and has never been hit, so it was unlikely it would be hit twice in the same weekend (the car also could have been hit by an asteroid, but that didn't happen either). It appears to me that either the girl is lying (or just unwilling to admit she caused more damage), and State Farm is grabbing the chance to pay as little as possible on this claim.
Although State Farm said they would pay for the tail light and rear quarter panel repairs, I am out the cost of repairing/replacing the front bumper, front fender and mirror, not to mention the scratches on both doors that I discovered later, and hadn't even pointed out to the estimator. The scratches also were obscured by a layer of dirt, because the body shop guy told me not to wash the car, so water wouldn't get into the broken light. They put a clear plastic cover over it. I'm also out the cost of a rental vehicle for however long the repairs will take, and will probably have to pay extra because I drive 60 miles a day to work.

In May 2007, I was rear-ended by a person insured by Snake Farm. My husband and I have been insured by Snake Farm for 20+ years (home, auto and earthquake). Although Snake Farm quickly and without complaint paid for the damages to my vehicle as well as all medical bills resulting from the crash (I spent 13 months in agony due to the collision), I was offered a paltry $8000 for pain and suffering. It became necessary to sue to get an amount anywhere near appropriate in compensation.
So, do you think Snake Farm would come to their senses and offer me a decent amount of money for 13 months of pain and suffering then? No! Much, much better to pay a rude, crude, hateful, and itchy attorney somewhere in the neighborhood of $45,000 plus another $10,000 or so in expenses to fight it in court where they will most certainly lose since they've already admitted fault by paying my damages and medicals.
We're in the process of changing insurance companies now. I don't know if any of them are any better, but I'll be damned if I'm going to send our insurance premiums to this piece of ** lawyer who is intent on putting me through ** and back just so that she can bill Snake Farm more than most families in this country make in a year. I'll say it again: Snake Farm will take and take and take your money from now until the end of time, but if you ever need that "good neighbor", you'll find he's fled the country with every penny you've given him, just like Bernie Madoff. They're thieves, they know it, and since their pockets are deeper than ours (because we were stupid enough to give them so much of our hard earned money), they don't give a ** what they put you through.
They'd obviously rather pay a shyster attorney twice what they should be paying you than own up to their responsibilities. They're rip-off artists, and they delight in it.The court date is set for September, but their attorney is still demanding I submit to an independent medical evaluation even though I testified in a deposition that my medical condition returned to its pre-collision state in June 2008. Who knows? Maybe I'll have a relapse before then!

On December 15, 2009, my husband was driving home from his brothers. There was a trailblazer in front of him and a Taurus to the right of the trailblazer. The Taurus wanted over, but the trailblazer wouldn't let him over. The intersection they were coming up on turned red. The cars stopped. Once the light turned green, they accelerated. Once they were back up to the speed limit of approximately 35mph, the Taurus cut off the trailblazer, leaving very little room. The trailblazer then bright-lighted the Taurus, because he had cut him off.
My husband still behind the trailblazer thought the road rage was over and continued at regular speed. The Taurus then slammed on his breaks, causing the trailblazer to rear-end him and then my husband in a Honda Accord to rear-end the trailblazer. Both the trailblazer and the Taurus had State Farm Insurance, when we on the other hand had American Family Insurance.
Our insurance company investigated and found that we should not be liable in any way, shape, or form, because we did not cause this accident. State Farm denied liability for our car, saying that my husband is liable for 100% of this accident. It makes no sense! If they truly believed that we were liable, they would be fighting our insurance to pay for the other damages, right?
Well, they are not; they just keep saying that we are liable and the 1st driver even got reckless driving tickets. Our 2002 Honda Accord LX Coupe is totaled. We have a 1-year-old son and no car. We are both only 19 years old without college due to the fact that we have a 1-year-old. So this is definitely been a horrific 3 months, between trying to get my husband to work having other working family members work around our schedule and trying to take our son to doctor's appointments. None of this is our fault, but we are suffering and it's unfair on State Farms behalf.

My adjuster has never done a catastrophic claim before and they should have given it to another adjuster. Mine is always in court and never does anything on my case. I was broadsided by another car and knocked onto the right shoulder. About the same time, two other cars spun out on either side of the road (Police later told me over 10 cars were off the road). I was not hurt and the EMS squad was there with in ten minutes.
They told me no one in the other car had been hurt either. The car that hit me drove away. I could not. I had my car towed and the two wheels fixed, and I didn't call my insurance (Allstate) to pay. I was sent a form by State Farm (the insurance company of the car who broadsided me) a week later, not yet having received a police report (I still haven't a police report) and told to make arrangements to pay them. No amount, just make arrangements to pay.
I called my insurance company to see if I even had to pay; it was not an accident of blame and no one was hurt. My insurance had expired, though my card said Dec. 26th. So, I had no insurance. All of this I reported to State Farm. On Feb. 15th they called and said they are having my license suspended because I haven't made arrangements to pay them. They claim I owe them $3,658.56, and I have never even received a police report. Plus, I hadn't received any notification of any amount.
Today, Feb. 22, I received a letter from a debt collector claiming I owe $3,658.56 and I have 10 days from the date of the letter (dated Feb. 15th) to answer them or they will start collection. I guess I have three days now. I was hit, not the other car. State Farm knows I have no insurance and they are intimidating me into making me pay for their insurer. On February 10, 2010 at about 5:30 pm, I was driving south on Highway 59 in Van Buren and the person responsible for the accident was in the northbound turning lane. He pulled out in front of me without even looking in my direction. I could not avoid an impact. He was cited for failure to yield and for no proof of insurance. Both of us were advised to contact our insurance companies. So far, the other driver has not contacted State Farm but we do know that he does have insurance coverage.
Our insurance company had to contact them to get a claim number. We have contacted them twice and they say they can't do anything until they speak to the driver. I bought a car from Auto House, paid a lot of money for it over the years of financing it with WFS Financial, and finally paid it off. Several years later, they stopped sending me renewals for the tags on it. The auto registration office is saying, I don't own the car because it is a wrecked vehicle (with a repossessed salvaged title). I have the original title that clearly shows no wreckage, original mileage. State Farm Insurance and/or Auto House has taken lots of money for a wrecked vehicle, caused me a lot of time and heartache dealing with this matter. I supposedly don't own the vehicle, even though I possess the title. I have driven all over trying to remedy this situation. I should be compensated for the lie they sold me the car under and the years of letting me live under that lie.

My wife and I had a policy with the minimal we need for auto insurance in Iowa, as that is all we could afford. We never missed a payment and we were never late. Out of the blue, we received a letter from State Farm insurance that was very stern stating that they were cancelling our insurance due to our credit history. They wouldn't explain to us the reason for the cancellation. They used the excuse that we have bad credit. We've paid our bills for two years straight and haven't missed a payment. We can't get any insurance anywhere else in town without paying ungodly fees (due to not having insurance on our car) so we are stuck between a rock and a hard place.
They never refunded our 6 months' worth of insurance we paid for either and they denied that we ever paid it. We have receipts! We paid in cash. That did not matter to them and we are still walking everywhere. Do you have any idea how hard it is to walk everywhere in Iowa in winter with a child? I am not paying a cab service in this town 8 dollars one way or to go to the grocery store.

In Oct., 2009, I was looking into changing my Auto Ins. State Farm came in with the lowest premium. Since I pay on a monthly basis, they gave me a monthly payment of 68.00/month. I decided to switch to State Farm. I was first told they needed 2 months payment but when I called in my payment Chris said he only needed 1 month at $73.14. When I got the first bill, it was for $86.26. I called Chris, he said this was a one time extra charge for a change they had made. The next month would go back to $72.14.
When I got the next months bill, they were charging me an additional #139.00 payable over 3 months. The past 2 months, I have paid them $72.14 but they are still demanding an extra 139.00 for "policy changes". I have contacted them by email stating that these charges are not acceptable. They did leave 2 messages on my phone asking me to call them, so they can explain the policy changes but I just get their answering machine. I am extremely financially scraped right now. I've had to "beg, borrow and steal" to pay the $72.14. There is no way I can pay what they want but even if I could, this has taken their premium way over what I switched from.

I am sick and tired of adjusters from claims office or contracted ones going and talking to my mechanic for a comprehensive claim that I have recently encountered. I submitted to my agent a police report, an eyewitness, and a signed mechanics statement. I am represented by an attorney. My attorney's paralegal, like my self, is still awaiting a personal contact with their adjuster. The adjuster is invading my privacy, because he doubts I hit a pasture fence post on January 10, 2010 at 7pm.
I used a paper trail, and I do not care about adjusters. I sue instead. All adjusters are hired to keep an insurance company from paying out a claim. My attorney is going to file litigation for the adjuster going behind my back. Gewen **, my agent at Bruce Clark, sent all the pertinent information that adjuster needed.
I have paid all bills from the mechanic with his ASE-certified invoice on my debit card. It is none of their business but to contact my attorney, not my mechanic or me. This is the law. I am also filing a complaint with the LA Department of Insurance. State Farm also is harassing me for a fuel pump and labor that they did not pay; they only paid the towing. I don't want any phone calls. Contact my attorney.

When I tried to go over the police report with them that clearly states their insured at fault, they just keep saying this is their decision and I can sue them if I don't like it. Meanwhile, I lost my car completely and I am forced to take them to court. State Farm should be out of business practicing this way. A State Farm insured hit my vehicle and totaled it on December 21, 2009. I contacted State Farm immediately, even though the insured had not. I provided State Farm with all of the information required as soon as it was needed. Initially my experience was good. The speed of the response was excellent. However, even though I was not at fault in this situation, I have to pay additional monies for both a replacement vehicle and car rental.
I began the search to replace my 2009 Ford Explorer (new to me in July 2009) as soon as I was notified that it was considered a total loss on December 29, 2009. These vehicles are extremely difficult to locate. I have been working with 4 dealerships since December 29 and finally have secured an Escape that will be delivered this weekend (Jan 9). No consideration was given to the fact that I was given notice over a holiday. I had a house full of guests. Even though this was the case, I was on the phone and emailing the dealerships continuously. The best that I can find is a new vehicle. There are no 2009 Escapes with the mileage that mine had (8,800) or less and the options. I have to take over a $3,000 financial hit to replace a vehicle for an accident that was not my fault.
I was also informed that my rental vehicle would not be extended past January 4, 2010. This is ridiculous! I have been trying my best to secure a vehicle. There is no reason why I would want to keep the rental for additional days. It is much worse than the vehicle I had. I will have 5 days of rental cost in addition to the $3,000 hit that I am taking on the car.
I am very dissatisfied with the outcome of this claim. There were witnesses to this accident that stayed to give statements to the police. This was 100% not my fault and yet I am being penalized financially.
I have never had the desire to come out ahead financially on this. All along, I have only wanted to replace my vehicle and move on. I am not by nature a litigious person nor have I requested compensation over and above the loss I have incurred. At the very least, the cost of the rental for the additional period should have been considered. I spoke with claims representatives and offered to provide email correspondence to substantiate the fact that I have been working on this vehicle search since December 29 when I was first notified. They told me that I was lucky State Farm provided a rental vehicle. The lack of concern for the customer is appalling. This experience has been very frustrating and left me feeling that I was not treated fairly.

I have had insurance on my RV for two years. It does not have a motor. It has to be towed if it is moved. When I applied for homeowners insurance at State Farm, I told the lady writing up the policy that I wanted theft of my valuables up to $3,000 to protect me against thieves. I remember that because she asked me how much coverage I wanted, I told her $3,000. Last Sunday morning, the trailer park that I live in was vandalized. There were 8 to 10 boats and trailers that were hit (mine being one of them)! I had several very expensive fishing rod and reels stolen. I made a police report and filed a claim with State Farm. They now tell me that they do not even offer coverage for contents stolen in an RV; fire damage only!
I was never told this until I filed a claim. I never heard of an insurance company not offering theft insurance. That is mainly why I got the insurance! The TV is not even movable unless I remove a large storage shed with a floor in it. This is my only home and it has a large wood deck built within an inch of the RV. This is a permanent residence and I wanted homeowners insurance. When they wrote it up, they placed it under an auto policy instead of homeowners! Why would they do that? Anyway, State Farm says that they can't help me because I’m not covered. The policy shows fire, wind and theft up to $3,000 on the same line! If they will cover for fire, then why not on theft?! Please help me any way you can. I have been a customer of State Farm for 20+ years!

According to their total loss dept, I was totaled out. As time went on and numerous calls came and went, State Farm made a partial offer settlement to buy my wrecked car and pay title and transfer fees. They paid the cost they said but denied that they owe me anything else as far as the title fees and lost money from my carpooling ride money I was making each week taking someone to work and back home each day.
After I went to their office in Champaign and got a check for the car, that was the last time I was contacted by State Farm; no mention from that time up until the time I called them asking what they were doing and the next step and asking where the money was for the title fees as they had promised. They said it was included in the cost of the car, which was not what they said to me on the phone prior to me signing my car title over to them. They have gone so far as to say that my car was trash even before it was hit. I got very disappointed with State Farm policy. I just recently moved from New Jersey to Texas and when I went to a State Farm agency, the agent requested to transfer all my information from NJ to TX so I wouldn't need to start all over again and there wouldn't be any problems. That's what I got informed; however the State Farm agency was completely wrong, for State Farm policy says if you move from NJ to another state here in USA, you will start all over again. They don't recognize your long time with them, I have them for 10 years until last August. And I didn't know that they cancelled my policy.
Nobody called to tell me what was happening. When I went to the agency, I got surprised that State Farm changed my quote rate that I already got in August, from $86 to $158. They told me that I was a high risk customer for them. I know I had an accident in 2007 because of a snow storm in February and 3 months later, a ticket because I didn't make a complete full stop.
When I called the State Farm phone number that the agency gave me, the operator transferred my call to someone else. I asked what is the customer service number. Of course, nobody knew. She saw my policy number, got angry because the agency gave me her number and said, "in other words, you are new in Texas and you pay the quote that we already gave you or look for another car insurance," a beautiful answer for a big company that does not care about their customer. I notice that the day you are in an accident that even if it was not your fault, you will pay as new like everybody else, very nice.

In September 2008, my daughter called the State Farm Insurance agency, Florentino Insurance Agency Inc. to see if she could be insured to drive my deceased husband's Ford F-150. My daughter, Cecelia, explained to the person on the phone that she is not part of the household but that she just wanted to be insured only because she was trying to sell the F-150 truck. (Cecelia lives in her own house in Campbell, CA.) Cecelia would drive the F-150 to different locations to advertise it. Then on January 2009, she sold the F-150 truck and immediately called the State Farm Agency to notify them that she had sold the truck and to remove her and the truck from the policy.
Today, 09/03/2009, I was shocked when I noticed that Cecelia's name is on the policy for my own car (Subaru). Because I had been a customer of this State Farm Insurance Agency for over 30 years, I trusted that this had been taken care of. When I called the State Farm Insurance Agency, I was told the following: they are not mind-readers and they have no way of knowing that Cecelia should not be in the policy; that Cecelia was not supposed to be the one calling to put herself on my policy; that I should have noticed that Cecelia was on the last statement before and since I did not notice it before, that meant that everything was okay; that State Farm covers only for 6-month periods; that as long as Cecelia is visiting or part of the household, she must be included in the policy; and they would not reimburse or credit the amount from January 2009 until September 2009 that they have charged for having Cecelia on the policy.
I was very surprised and disappointed at the way this State Farm Agency treated a loyal customer after all these years. What I don't understand is why, if Cecelia called and gave specific instructions, why did they not at that time explained that she was not supposed to be the one calling to make changes to the policy since she was not the policyholder? Why did they not explain to her that she would be added to the policy for the Subaru and that State Farm only insures for six months at a time? And if in fact they knew Cecelia was not the policyholder and not supposed to be calling, why did they go ahead and added her to both policies truck and car and charge for it?

I did all I was supposed to do. I called the police, did a report, and called my insurance State Farm who I have had for over 6 years at the time! A month later, my car was found trashed, stripped, totaled! I took pictures and relinquished it to my insurance. Long story short, they took so long that my gap insurance collapsed, and then they found some ** reason to deny my clam! Can I go after them and win? Yes, but every attorney I have talked to said it would cost me more than what my car is worth to fight them because they are known for this **! It’s not just auto, it’s any and all! When you do win, they pay just what the auto is worth, but then you still are left paying for attorney fees! Don't get State Farm, it’s a waste of money! This needs to get out!
I was a single mom who has worked hard my life to get what I have and have always been honest. Thanks to State Farm, my credit is shot, and I am not going to court over the loan company that held my note to my Tahoe. They want the full $32K plus their attorney cost. I was told I will lose because it is between me and them, and the insurance didn’t sign a note with them. It sucks, thanks to State Farm! It’s now almost the end of 2009 and this is still going on in my life, thanks to State Farm! I can’t get a new car because I can’t get a note. Emotionally, I am drained, stressed, crushed. All this has lasted for over 2 years now and is going to be on my credit for 10 or more years to come! This is not right! I didn’t do anything wrong!

On July 21, 2009 late afternoon, I was traveling home from a golf outing in Cranberry, PA. I was on Route 228 just outside the city of Mars when I was hit with a driving storm that had jagged hail. It last almost 15 minutes. I was in a line of traffic at the time and could not pull over directly. Once off the road, I looked for covered but was not able to find adequate cover.
After the storm, I got out to examine my car and its paint had been terrible chipped. I have comprehensive insurance with State Farm Insurance. Their adjuster examined the car and said that the chipping was not the result of hail but had been caused by road debris. His proof being that the car did not have any dents. It seems that State Farm policy is this: deny any hail claims if the vehicle has not suffered dents.
I am very particular about my vehicle and the only chips the vehicle had prior to the hail-storm was a touch up paint on it. I have owned this car for over 5 years and have taken good care of it. I live approximately 2 miles from my home and travel to work on a back street (no trucks). The vehicle had 50,000 miles on it on July 21st and has only 50,500 miles on it today, 9/1/09. I told the examiner, my agent, the claim adjuster representative and the claim adjuster representative supervisor that the car did not have the chips on it prior to the storm. They did not view my car prior, so their only proof is their policy: "No dents, no hail damage."
I already have a lot of time wrap up in this and have made at least 10 phone calls to State Farm. It took me three phone calls to my agent to get State Farm to send me a position letter. The letter simply denied my claim saying it was road debris. The letter made it sound like that that was it. It did not offer me any appeal process. I have plenty of proof showing that I was indeed in a hail-storm that lasted 15 minutes. I have someone who detailed my car in April this year that is willing to make a statement that the vehicle paint was in perfect condition, except for one chip that had touch up paint on it. I have statement off the internet showing that others have experienced similar experiences.
I hate being accused of lying. State Farm is insinuating that I’m fabricating the damage from hail that it is really road debris damage. Can you please help me litigate this without the cost of legal counsel? I want State Farm to pay to have my car put right or I want every dollar I ever paid them for comprehensive insurance back.

Around the beginning of March 2009, we had a couple of big snow storms and I was traveling back and forth from GA from seeing family. I hadn't wash my pride and joy, the 2003 BMW, that I worked hard for in two weeks due to weather. When I did, I found that someone had tried to break in at the top of each door and later found that they had stuck something through the door and was trying to hit the door unlock on the dashboard damaging the dash. I called State Farm, and they read off some of their shops on their list. I picked Earl Tindol Body Shop, which had said my car would be done in a few days. I dropped it off Wednesday morning at 10am. I then dropped by Friday at 4pm, finding out they hadn't started yet but that it would be ready on Tuesday.
Ten days and 4 trips later, they said the car was done. I was happy for hot second from a distance, till I got closer and found paint on the new moldings, screws and grommets, missing air bag and service lights on body, work scratches obviously under the paint, dried up and rough clear paint, primer lines all across the inside of the top of the door jams, etc. I called up State Farm and told them the situation, and they said it was ok for me to take the car out of that shop to the dealer as I requested. The dealer fixed the service lights, and the State Farm adjuster Dean came and offered a Hendricks body shop on South Boulevard that he said was new and did good work.
After another 10-15 days, 4 visits, and two adjusters who wouldn't return my calls when I would ask them why each time, I would go get my car and there would be at least 7-10 things wrong with the work, such as airbag lights on primer lines from where they tapped off moldings improperly installed, burned paint from over-buffing, extra screws on the floor, sanded paint on the bumper when the bumper wasn't painted, buffing cream embedded in seat belts doors, the entire interior windows not rolling up, etc.
I called back and forth from the claims center in Virginia, and they kept giving me the same adjuster (Dean), his manager Byron or Ivan. They even lied and told me I was speaking to a manager when I asked for one. I took the car out of shop after the manager refused to do any more work on the car and told State Farm I wanted to take it to a shop in Pennsylvania, where I was going to be for 2 weeks. They denied and told me I had to go back to Hendricks. I agreed, and it went there again for 10 days.
And it wasn't fixed properly again. There were buffing cream and burns all over the exterior body, work scratches under paint that they kept buffing out and that didn't go away, stretched-out rubber molding at the windshield, gouges in moldings, etc. They keep making the car worse to the point that I let some damage slide by, but they messed up something else. A $2900.00 repair turned into me losing a temporary job due to having to return rental cars, not being able to get to Raleigh, NC, where I stayed for the week to work.

I've been a customer of State Farm since at least 2001. When I moved to Florida in 2003, I transferred my existing policy and info to a local agency in the town I moved to. More than a year ago, I moved 2 hours south of that town and kept the agency. I have my premium set up as an automatic withdrawal. I'm a good driver, haven't had any claims or accidents, etc. and the only claim I've ever had with State Farm was in 2003, when a friend backed my car into a neighbor's mailbox. State Farm took care of the repair and I was hardly inconvenienced at all. It only took 3 days total from the day of the accident until the day I got the vehicle back, after all the repairs and paintwork was done.
My complaint now is the fact that they are dropping my policy for my vehicles due to a traffic ticket my husband got in 2008. I just got married on June 6 and informed my agent that I would need to change my last name. However, I also informed the agent that my husband would not be added on my policy until we can clear up his misunderstanding with his license. Long story there but the point is, how can they drop me, a longstanding customer? I've always paid my premiums every month on time, no accidents or even a parking ticket on my record, but they dropped my insurance by voicemail no less and it's because of someone else's driving record!
I own two vehicles, which are registered and titled to me, not to anyone else. I told State Farm several months ago that I would be getting married, but I couldn't put my husband on my policy until we could get his license reinstated. My husband does not drive anywhere. I either drive him or he hires someone to drive him to and from wherever he needs to go. I cannot believe it's legal for this company to drop me because of someone else!

After the Jackson P.D. arrived about 40 to 50 minutes after my truck was stolen (great response time) the officer asked of I had the VIN number he said he could get it but it would take up to 30 minutes and if I could get it he could put out a BOLO ASAP. So I called my State Farm agent and when she answered the phone again, she acted like she was bored or it was Friday and I just want to go home.
Again, she never asked if there was anything I needed or if there was something she could do to help. After the Police took the report, I had to call a cab to take me to a hotel as I work out of town and did not have a way back to my home to get replacement clothes as all my work clothes were stolen as well as all my work items. I never heard anything from my agent until I called her on Monday morning and I told her I was very disappointed in not only her but State Farm as well. She acted really surprised and asked why and I told her no one had called and she said an adjuster was supposed to call me and I told her as of 09:00, three days, no one had called. She then called the adjuster and she took my claim.
This is not the state farm I have had for over 21 years and now; I am really wondering if I should stay with them or find a new insurance company. And to make matters even worse, I have rental car on my policy but it was Monday before anyone asked if I needed a rental. I was left stranded about 90 miles from my home with no way of travel. I had to take a cab to a hotel and then I had to take a cab to a local Wal-Mart to buy replacement clothes and as well as the emotional stress of having your vehicle stolen and all your personal items taken.

My car was broken into and all of my electronics that were stolen, which included 2 TVs, DVD player, subwoofer, and an amplifier, are covered by State Farm. I reported the claim to them because I had exterior and interior damages. When I reported my claim, I was told that everything is covered and I will receive a check in the mail after the claims adjuster inspects the car. After the claims adjuster came out and did what he needed to do, I waited a couple of days before I called to check the status of my claim. And at that time, I was told that I would only receive a check for the exterior damage and that State Farm uses a electronic replacement company that will send out replacements for my car. I explained to them that I purchased these items over 4 years ago and I can't find the receipts. They told me that it doesn't matter because they are going to send me what they think I had.
I know what that means. They are going to send me some cheap electronics in order to save them money. I don't think that is fair because I want to pick what I want in my car. And I don't mind paying the difference because I want to be happy with what's in my car. I'm stuck with this stuff, not them. I should be able to take my car where I want to take it and I have to go to a State Farm certified shop. I have a place where I go and they work with me to get me what I want. If something needs to be fixed, they do it at no charge. If I go where State Farm wants me to go, I have to go through State Farm to get items fixed.
I shouldn't have to be stuck with what they want me to have. When I pay my premium, I don't pay them what I think they should get. I pay in full premium and on time. This is my first claim. I can only imagine what will happen if I'm ever in an accident. I am getting the run around when it's time for State Farm to take care of their customer. That's not what a good neighbor should do. I have went out and bought what I want to put in my car. State Farm is sending out replacements that I will refuse. This is very stressful for no reason.

2007 Dodge Ram, attempted theft, personal items stolen from the vehicle's interior. I was discussing items with her when I was conveniently told that they would need to go under homeowner's ($500 deductible). By the way, my homeowner's insurance was being dropped due to 3 claims (2 wind, 1 hot water heater that blew up) in 15 years. I have 6 vehicles, homeowner's, and 4 life insurance policies with State Farm. So now I'm being dropped, and my personal belongings that were stolen are not covered under a full coverage auto plan. Help. I was also told by another party that in the state of AZ, up to $200 of personal property should be covered.

On May 19th, I was involved in an auto accident. I am a State Farm customer and so was the lady I hit. The lady that I hit was having medical problems and admitted fault. I had a 1995 Dodge Dakota pick up truck and I hit my front driver’s side on her rear passenger side, then I was deflected into a ditch. This was on Interstate I-65. State Farm agreed to fix my vehicle. The damage was not significant, I had a scratch on the bumper, the head light lens was cracked, and something happened to the steering on the truck. After the accident I was going to drive my vehicle home, I was able to put my truck into reverse and pull myself out of mud to the frame of the truck. As I pulled back on to the interstate, I had noticed my steering wheel was upside down and the truck jerked a couple of times to the left. So, I pulled over and had my truck towed home. The following day, State Farm scheduled the truck to be picked up from my house and sent to the body shop. After 2 weeks of not hearing anything, I figured they were going to total my truck. It is an older truck that is not in the best of shape with a lot of rust. Blue book on the low end is $1200.00. The only concern I ever expressed was to get the steering fixed.
Tuesday, June 2nd, I received a call from the body shop that the truck was fixed, but they could not fix the steering problem. So, in my eyes it is not fixed. Bob from Scott’s Auto Body in DeMotte, IN had stated a Pittman arm on the truck had previously been installed wrong and he could not take it apart to find out what was wrong because he was afraid he would not be able to get it back together. So I called State Farm back and the sent out an adjuster to look at it. A lady from the Valparaiso, IN Adjusters Office called me on Thursday and told me that they could not fix the steering because of a previous accident the truck was in. I have had the truck almost 2 years and put on about 30,000 miles and never had a steering issue, and now I have 2 excuses to why they can’t fix it. So I called my agent, the only person I talked to that actually tried to help. They had told him the frame is too rusted to fix, excuse number 3.
I told everyone that I had spoke to that I will not pick up the truck until the problem is fixed, the truck will not make a full right turn, the cruse control buttons that were on the bottom of the steering wheel are now on top, and I do not think it is safe to drive. So I got a call from the Adjuster’s Office in Valparaiso at 3:30 PM today telling me that they want the rental car turned in today because they will not pay for it any longer. The rental car place is 20 miles from my house and closes at 5:00 PM. So now I am out of a vehicle they will not fix and they want me to jump at their command to take the car back immediately. By the way, the lady from the Adjuster’s Office is extremely rude. So again I had to call my agent to get them to leave the car on one more day until I can make arrangements to get a ride home. which he did. I have been sore since the accident and I do not want to be the guy that is suing for money from an accident, I have not gone to the doctor, I do not want money from them, but I want my vehicle fixed, or them to total the truck and give me the money so I can get a vehicle.

An uninsured motorist ran into the cement block privacy wall at the rear of my property, leaving a hole measuring approximately 4' by 8'. I have an in-ground swimming pool in my backyard, therefore, in order to reduce any further liability, I need to get the repair done as soon as possible. Since the driver had cancelled his auto insurance, I am forced to file a claim against my homeowner's insurance policy and pay the $500.00 deductible. It should be noted that I switched my insurance carrier in August of 2008, from Allstate to State Farm due to several unexplained rate increases, even though we had not filed any claims against our policies. It should also be noted the cost of the repair is approximately $2300, minus my deductible.
After speaking with my current agent, I was informed that my homeowner's insurance rate will now increase by 40% due to the claim. State Farm's reasoning is due to the length of time that we have been covered by State Farm. I have been at this same residence for 19 years and have never filed a claim against my home owner's insurance policy, which can be substantiated with a CLU report. My agent further stated, "If this was an auto accident involving your vehicle and an uninsured motorist's vehicle, and the uninsured motorist was found to be at fault, then a claim against my policy would not result in a rate increase." The uninsured motorist in this case is clearly at fault, so why should this situation be handled any differently?

On May 18, 2009, my vehicle was taken to Kendall Collision (a recommendation from State Farm) to get fixed. Kendall Collision and State Farm agents told me that it would take 24 to 72 hours for an estimate to be completed. After various phone calls to both parties, they finally finished the estimate after 14 days! My rental expires in 21 days after May 18, 2009. Now, this weekend, I have to turn my vehicle in and Kendall Collision has informed me that they have not started because they are waiting for all the parts to come in before they can tell me when my vehicle will be ready.
I work as a traveling therapist also and I have no way to get around if I do not have a vehicle. If I do not have a vehicle I cannot work, I will not get paid! After this weekend, since State Farm and Kendall Collision have not completed the estimate within the 72-hour period, I will lose my wages as a physical therapist assistant. It took them 14 days to finish the estimate and decide that day to approve my vehicle getting fixed. I make over $1,500 grossly per week.

We have decided to obtain insurance from another carrier. This includes our auto policies and our homeowners policy. This decision was based on several factors. First, we were surprised how soon State Farm sent out a cancellation Notice, only after two months which seemed to indicate that we had not disclosed an incident that occurred last year to our daughter's car, like road hazard doesn't ever happen to anyone. Not to mention the fact that this was disclosed to our agent here in Albuquerque before I bought off on policy, which by the way, we were only getting coverage for ourselves and not our daughter since she and her husband now have their own policy.
Also, both of our credit has been immaculate for over 35 years, as well as our 35+ years of driving records. So my conclusion is their company does not deserve good drivers. I hope that they continue to drop the good drivers like us so that all you are left with are those other kind of drivers that you so much deserve and will help businesses like yours on their way out of business. The other factors for our decision was that since I did not hear any other status from our State Farm Agents here in Albuquerque since two weeks ago as to whether we were going to be covered or not, we assumed we had no coverage as of cancellation notice for May 27th, which by the way, was right in the middle of our vacation, and only allowed us less than one week to find another insurance carrier.
That made us feel worse during our vacation, as we were trekking around the country, not knowing if we had coverage or not. The only good thing is that it didn't take us long to figure out how State Farm really is to their customers. I will be posting a copy of this letter on the internet, to let everyone know what a really good neighbor State Farm is. State Farm should drop its like a good neighbor slogan, as if this is the way good neighbors really are then I will have no part of their kind of friendship or any part of their business.

On May 5, 2009, I was en route to the E.R. of Childrens' Hospital in Aurora, CO to take my son in at approximately 10pm. I was distracted by my son who was experiencing some severe mental health problems. Unfortunately, I sideswiped a man's truck (who had been sitting in a left-hand turning lane). The accident was clearly my fault. No one was hurt in any way. When I phoned in to talk to my State Farm agency, the representative said that I did not have liability insurance. My wife and I knew this was absolutely preposterous. It took about a week before Chuck **, who owns the agency, called us to say that they had made a mistake. They called the other party who was covered by a different insurance agency and told them also that they had made a mistake.
Then the investigation began, an intense interrogation process over the phone. Jessica was whom I dealt with first. She asked me several questions over again. Such questions concerned me, such as what I had talked about with the rep at the agency when getting my insurance, what kind of insurance card I gave the officer at the wreck, and had I experienced any mechanical work on the car and when and who did the work.
Then, when Jessica lied to me, with the motive of confusing me and misleading me, I sent in a complaint to my agent, Chuck, who forwarded the complaint to the claims office in Greeley. The lie was "Why did your wife say your car was out of commission the first three weeks that you had the car?" I later asked my wife if she had said this, and she said that she had never said this. And there was no reason she would say it, because there would be nothing to gain from that.
I never heard anything about the claim. Meanwhile, I kept receiving calls repetitively from the party who owned the truck that I hit. These calls intensified with threats from them that they were going to sue us because State Farm was not coming through in paying the claim. On May 29, Friday (24 days after the accident), I received word from the party who owned the truck I hit that State Farm was not going to pay the claim. The party then again said that they were going to sue me.
My two biggest issues with State Farm are 1) that one of their claims reps lied to me and 2) that they are denying the insurance claim, even though I have liability. Now, I am facing a lawsuit for the damages to these people's truck.
It would be one thing if we were not going through a financial crisis. If we get sued, we will probably end up losing our house. Interestingly enough and sadly enough, our son is still in the hospital. The stress / duress from the harassment from both the State Farms Insurance Claims people and from the other party, whose truck I hit, has worn us out. Bottom line is that I have been with State Farm Insurance since I obtained my driver's license 35 years ago. Isn't this why we have insurance and pay monthly for it? And then to have State Farm say "No, we are not going to pay the claim," is insidious.
