I've been paying $140 a month for over a year now for what I was told from the agent who was in my house with his manager on the phone, an IUL insurance policy. With a death benefit of $200,000. Wondering why I could never sign in to my portal, I dug up the real policy listed on the portal they provide and it said I had a whole life term insurance policy. I was lied to, manipulated into thinking I had a whole other different policy. I could have paid $25 a month for double the death benefit. Then I go to cancel and they charge me again, also been waiting over a month for that last payment I cancelled. Shady practices from agents just looking for residual commissions, so they tell you anything you want to hear. I have all the initial paperwork we drew on and it all states it was a IUL policy, but the whole time it was a whole life term policy, which I said from the gate I did want.

Also the agent said I can cancel at any time and receive the money I put into the policy which is a complete lie. I already went thru the correct channels to have the agents responsible, Tarek ** and his manager already reported to the BBB, the board of New Jersey agent list among other ways for them to not lie to customers for a commission each month. Good thing I kept everything even the papers where him and his acting manager wrote down how the IUL worked and that's what I was getting. Signed and initialed from both parties. I am extremely upset with how this company does business. Then the agent calls me back and says oh you already I was going to tell pay another 3 years and then you can get 50% of the policy money back. Already cancelled went with Fidelity and pay $30 for $500,000 death benefit. Horrible customer service, horrible agents, management, nothing good about this business.

I called about my policy. I was told wrong on what he said. They pulled money out of my acct. When I called about my policy the lady act like she did not want to help me, so she hung up on me. So then I cancel my policy. Now they won't put the amount of money back into my acct. They're giving me a run around. I guess they go by commission on how many policy they get. And not care of people that have policy. I was told 18.00 And now 25.00. Not going to happen. She told me going to take 7 to 10 business days to send check. Said can you just put it back into my acct. She said no. And hung up. Never ever with Mutual of omaha. Worst customer service ever.

I canceled a policy Mutual of Omaha because the premium went $ 98.00 a month to $834.00 a month with increases every month. I contacted customer service and they said I would get a refund in 7 to 10 business days. I don't understand if they can take the money out of my bank account every month to pay the premium then why can't they replace the money they took out when canceling the policy? As this is the 11th business day and I have not received my check, I contacted customer service again today and they said they will send out another check today but it will take 7 to 10 business days and not concerned when I get it back. Mutual of Omaha has my money and not concerned when I get my money.

The rep for our company said that because I'm 65, the amount gets reduced 65%. So, If I really want $40k I'd have to pay for $60k reduced 65% = $39,000 coverage.

The policy is worth nothing at all. I’m in disbelief. That’s one of my reasons for getting a whole life policy because they are value policies. Well I mindest well cancel this valueless policy.

I would not recommend this company to anyone and I own like 10 policies with them! Several months ago, they cancelled just one of my policies where I had paid for 16 years and I had excellent health. They claimed that I called the company to cancel just that ONE policy but if that were the case I would have cancelled all my premiums because they pull from the same bank and same account! They sent me a form to reinstate my policy and then wanted 10 years of medical records. After sent them the records they claimed they never got them but I had sent them certified.

Finally one rep told me they had them. But they still refused to reinstate my policy after I had paid them over $7,000 dollars! I reported them to the Texas Insurance Board because they never proved to me that I cancelled just my premium to my policy over the phone! Why don't they have a form to cancel a premium payment? Why is it their word over mine? It's just a scam to take away my policy that I had for so long and only thing I can think of is that it was a $50,000 policy and at a good rate and they didn't want to pay that or when the time came to pay it! I am also reporting them to the BBB in Omaha, NB home office for unscrupulous practices.

I am an OB nurse and see firsthand what can happen during pregnancy and wanted to protect myself if unable to work. Well, lo and behold I did encounter complications that restricted my ability to work bedside at my hospital. When it came time to use the policy, I was treated like a criminal. Had me in tears every time I had to deal with this company.

I kept the policy paying 89.00/month and 14 yrs later I needed to use my disability insurance. Again, treated like I didn't matter at all. Never received timely updates, poor communication, would get the Dr.'s names wrong, requested to speak to managers. Never a call back. Finally got a hold of one, not much help. Really mess with your mentally. Then of course denied my claim, stating not enough evidence. I was in such a bad place and their "Dr" denied my claim. Now I feel even worse. If I can save one person from having to have to go through what I did, it would be worth it. Absolutely awful company. I will be retaining a lawyer to fight the appeal. Save yourself the heartache I have had to endure, stay far far away from this company.

I just learned of a policy my dad had (he passed in November of 2023) for critical illness. I called today to report his death and learned that the medical records and death certificate are not enough proof for them to pay out the coverage despite his qualifying diagnosis being on/in both of those things, they expect his hospitalist physician who treated him to complete a third form validating the diagnosis. The amount of work required when living out of state is not worth the headache unless this is the only asset someone has.

I suggest finding a more reputable company that will accept the other VALID documents that the same physician they want to complete their form, has provided in the hospital medical records and to the state medical examiner on the death certificate as they require both of those items as well. It speaks volumes to me as a hospital CEO of the barriers that they intentionally create in an effort to earn money of premiums without having to pay benefits as they are well aware that it's nearly impossible to track down a treating physician whom doesn't operate a private practice to complete their ridiculous, repetitive forms.

I never imagined in 1,000 years that I would be writing a rave review about an insurance company - but here I am!! We have had two small policies for my mother since 2009 - one with Mutual of Omaha, and one with another large insurance company. Unfortunately, my mother recently passed and as the beneficiary, I can share first hand that the difference in service + claims processing between the two companies is literally night and day.

Mutual of Omaha in my eyes, is the gold standard!! I am beyond impressed! They have provided excellent service in each and every department along the chain. They processed swiftly and to my pleasant surprise, they sent the check within days after notifying them of my mother’s death. The competitor will not likely send a check for another 4-6 weeks. That’s after snail mailing documents, they won‘t even start the process until things are received, and it takes time to even receive these official documents on our end.

The fact that Mutual of Omaha moved so fast, it now allows our family to have the liquid funds to pay for services, our travel, rental cars and other essentials needed for these end of life family arrangements. It’s already a tough time to lose a loved one. Having the funds to take care of the services is the biggest blessing!! We are so grateful to this company, and their business model that shows more humanity than most. My family and I HIGHLY recommend Mutual of Omaha for life insurance! Thank you!!

A couple of years ago, my husband and I purchased 2 small policies from Mutual of Omaha. After reading their reviews I am even more concerned. First of all, when we received the policies I called to say they had misspelled my husband's first name on the policy. Nope they said, that's what the application shows. Since I completed the application I knew this to be incorrect. The name they showed on the policy was not even a proper name! They refused to change it.

Don't worry about it they said. Sure and what will you say if God forbid he should pass and they say nope that's not who they have insured. Have not trusted them since. But my biggest complaint is the bombardment of calls I receive EVERY day by them trying to upsell our policies. I have had to block 28 of their numbers and they still have more numbers to call on. My goodness, what an unbelievably annoying company to have to deal with. Knowing we are elderly I guess they feel they have us between a rock and a hard place for obtaining other insurance. Sad.

My grandmother passed away this August 2023 just a couple months ago. My father, her son passed away unexpectedly earlier this same year in January. Unfortunately as the last surviving member of my family, I am responsible for the full cost of both funerals which added up to almost 20,000 dollars. My grandmother had a life insurance policy with Mutual of Omaha for 10k which would be a huge help towards the 12k for her services I currently owe the funeral parlor. Also this is exactly what she intended this money for when she took the policy out in the first place, to take some burden off off the family after her passing.

Mutual of Omaha was absolutely no help when I contacted customer service because my father was her beneficiary and since he passed away there was no contingency plan and they instead of writing the check directly to the funeral home for her final expenses as I begged them to do they decided to send it in the name of the estate in care of myself knowing I have no way to access this and pay the funeral home because probate is expected to take a year and they want payment for her services now. Disgusting to refuse such a simple request in a person's worst time of need. I lost the 2 most important people in my life this year and now risk losing my home and car as well because the funeral home is looking for payment and will eventually take legal action.

While he was on hospice his family sneaked in and took advantage that he was unconscious and had him sign the form to change the beneficiary. During the time, he had cancer, they never showed up. I called the insurance and warned them that this would happen and told them to make a note because their money hungry and supposedly they made a note. He had already told me his wishes of how he wanted his funeral to be, instead they cremated him so they could keep the money.

ALSO, Mutual of Omaha would share info on my brother's policies because we share the same last name with me and I told them numerous times I have NOTHING to do with my brother's personal business and they should not be sharing another person's business with me nor mines with anyone.

They canceled one of my policies because they were sending mail to an address I had moved away from for almost 2 years and I had informed them of the move. I have insurance on my grandson, I know my grandson's date of birth. Mutual of Omaha somehow recorded his birthday wrong. I can go on and on about the errors with this company, but I will end with if due to the fact that I've been with them for some years now that is the only reason why now have 3 policies instead of 4. I canceled my son who is in the military policy, but I would NEVER recommend anyone to Mutual of Omaha.

Mom was diagnosed with 18 months to go so I took out the policy based on a previous review I had read. Thankfully, mom was with us for four more years but eventually succumbed. Once the dust settled, I called to make the claim and after about 10 minutes the gentleman told me a check would be sent out as soon as possible. I was surprised that, after signing up for a faceless insurance policy online four years prior that it would be as easy as it was to get the benefits I was expecting. No forms, no death certificate (which we were still waiting on), no hassles. The guy who helped me with my claim even consoled me on my loss. It was kind of embarrassing for me to tear up on the phone but I suspect it wasn't the first time he had been in that position.

My check arrived in about three business days and I just deposited it today. The policy wasn't much, but it covered the funeral costs, what I put into it, and a bit more which mom wanted to help with putting a downpayment on a home. She didn't have anything to leave us so she was thankful that at least with this life insurance policy there would be something. I am not sure how I could thank an insurance company without a face, but through this review perhaps others will know that it does have a heart. Thanks Mutual of Omaha.

I have several emails to this out fit to their Customer Care Dept before I filed my review & complaint on the 28th of July & they respond by responding to them by email to C/S again but does NOT give a direct person to speak with. I still DO NOT know why we allow criminals to do business. All the reviews against them are the same hundreds of them are basically the same. Mutual if you see this I've sent you 4 emails. NO response! NOT doing it again. I'll get no response again!!! ZERO ⭐'s will NOT CHANGE!

Original Review: This outfit owes me $35.94 last week. May/2023 I set up appointment with these 2 punks not even out of diapers to be selling Life Insurance, when they called I assumed it was random calling. I asked how got my #. Claimed that sent back something to a company I'm a member of but he supposedly didn't know who. We set up appointment. I was just wanting info, 20-30 minutes into the conversation he had asked for my banking info (checking). He told me with my partner-a witness, sitting next to them and said my checking account is used for "verification purposes ONLY." Well that was a lie from hell!!

On July 01 my checking account was overdrawned. Let me tell you I was PISSED OFF!! When I called to see WTF is going on. I told them that they committed bank fraud on my account. Told them to cancel the policy, that I did NOT authorized it to be started. It's now couple days shy of a month. I've called 4 times since to make sure policy was canceled and my refund was mailed out on July 5th. We're couple of days shy of a full month and I've received NO REFUND! They caused my account overdrawn by the $35.94 + $45 overdraft fee for it was paid by my Credit Union to Omaha Mutual.

BTW, I was blown away ALL of these reviews are identical with everyone's issue with Omaha. SOOOO, how come they're allowed to be in business in this Country, scamming, lying to people so they can have a luxury lifestyle. NOT RIGHT AT ALL. I WANT my $75 in total that cost me to pay for their fraud on my account. Someone needs to wake up and shut these crooks down before they start up the scams. ANYONE interested in filing a "Class Action Law Suit?" I'm sure am thinking about it.

I dropped them today. I now have a different Insurance Company that is local and I can pay in person. They received a payment from me in mid July. They told me this was from the May billing statement. I told them that could not be possible because that would have been well over the grace period And I would have been canceled.

I tried to explain to them that payment was for the bill that I just received today but they said no. They hold all the cards, but I'm not going to deal with this and I'm not going to pay premiums twice. You talk about deviations, no words can explain. I was lost and still am yet to this day. Unfortunately the grief and pain will never go away. I called Mutual of Omaha because that’s who the life insurance was purchased through and I thought thought this would take away some of the relief for myself and children after the service for his burial was 9,453.00. Well lo and behold I was told he passed 30 days before the 2 year mark and that the policy is contestable.

I was devastated and had to get down on my knees and just surrender my soul to God and just lean solely on him to make it through. Here it is going into May. I have still heard nothing from this insurance company, not a sorry for your loss’ status on claim or nothing and I call every day. All I get is it’s in review, it’s in review yet they had no problem drafting my account every month on time for my premium payments. I am at the point of filing a complaint with the insurance commissioner because I am really beginning to believe that this company is fraudulent.

Her Doctor clearly stated that my mother has a Chronic Illness Condition & she requires help in 4 areas; Toileting, Transferring, Bathing & Continence which meet the criteria that Mutual of Omaha requires. Yet, despite this, M.o.O. denied our claim in a letter dated Aug 20. On or about Aug 31st, upon receipt of that letter, I called to get an explanation which did not sound valid. I then followed up with an email stating that we want to dispute the decision and move to the next level. The Rep said she will forward to a 3rd party for review.

On Sept 10,2021, we forwarded another letter from our Physician's assistant who clearly explained the situation and clarified the issue at hand. In the letter, she makes it clear that appliances were ordered but Mom’s medical insurance denied it. Therefore she needs substantial assistance from me in those 4 areas listed. So here we sit with a valid class m that they denied. Even my insurance rep stated she was shocked because she’s seen these cases get approved. I honestly feel that their true reason is because we had not owned the policy that long. My final honest opinion is to avoid buying a policy from them because if you hadn’t owned it that long they will make up reasons to deny your claim.

After getting my application in, this agent ignored me on many different occasions. He even went on vacation for a week and did not have the decency to inform me, nor pass me onto a colleague who actually had time to work with me. Emails and phone calls were continuously ignored. All of this occurred during the time I was desperately trying to get a rate lock in, but his delays eventually caused me to lock in a higher mortgage rate with a lower lender credit two and a half weeks later.

I took my grievances to Costco and Mutual of Omaha, but they decided to do nothing for me other than a mediocre apology and a pathetic $500 refund, even though this horrible experience will end up costing me thousands of dollars over the life of my loan. Mutual of Omaha deserves zero stars or less for the experience I went through. I have no idea to this day why I was ignored... Original Review: Hello. I was contacted by my Agent, yesterday morning to sign a document that needed to be returned as soon as possible to finalize my approval for a 20 year term policy, with a face value of 300,000. He has been wonderful by the way as I am new to this process and needed some guidance. He says that I need to sign this document by 2/18. I am writing because I never received the policy to view in advance, or the medical results, or any other results relating to my classification rating.

Previous to the approval, I did as my Agent suggested, and went thru the medical exam which to my knowledge per my Agent it came back great. Also I have never been a tobacco user. Further I offered and forwarded additional medical information with genetic testing results. I am hoping to be reclassified with a lower monthly premium amount. It seems as though I am directed to pay for a 20 year term with a face value of $500,000 or more. Please advise. Thank you so much.

I really wish I had time to change mortgage companies but unfortunately time is not on my side as I am coming up on the end of my lease. My house is done and has been done for two weeks now. The only thing that is holding me up from moving is this mortgage company. It appears they are dragging their feet and hiding behind emails. I reach out for an update and they always say they are “waiting” for something else from someone else. The last time they said that I personally reached out to who they were waiting on and got the information in 5 mins. At this point I’m doing their job for them. They gave my realtor a hard time when he wanted to speak with them and ask questions. This experience has been a nightmare. I don’t have a closing date, I don’t know the status. I so desperately want this all to be over with, I get anxiety just thinking about everything that I have been dealing with. I wish I knew this months ago.

Working with Mutual of Omaha I found a policy that provides me with the coverage I need for the price I can afford. They set me up with automatic payments from my bank account, so there's no chance that the policy would lapse if my spouse was delayed in submitting for benefits. Plus Mutual of Omaha notifies me by email in advance of taking payment every month, which assures me that all is in order.

A few years back, I called Mutual of Omaha about borrowing from my whole life. I was told that I could. The customer rep said I had the option of borrowing to pay back or borrow and my loan amount would lower my insurance amount by the amount borrowed but I would not have to pay it back. I chose to have my amount lowered so I wouldn't have to pay back. I was then sent the check.

Time went on and I got a letter in the mail that says I agreed to pay back the loan. So I called mutual of omaha about the matter. This man came on and said I agreed to pay it back. I requested that my call be reviewed. I was told that they could not listen to the conversation. I persisted and called again when I got another letter to say I should pay back. This time the person said write a letter to dispute. I did so, and then they said they received it so I called again. This time the person I spoke to say I can request the call I did that and again I was told that it's not avail. It is not right that they can just go about changing agreements. I also asked why was there no letter sent for me to sign when I first ask to take money from the policy so that I could have it in writing. They unfortunately don't do that. So they can always screw the customer over.

I am still fighting this today but it's been since 2/13 and all I keep seeing when they contact me every once in a while is that the loan amount is like 2 two thousand dollar more than the original loan. This is not right. I have been paying into this insurance for more than 20 years religiously thru automatic withdrawal. I wee from reviews I've read that this kind of thing happens to a lot of people. For the love of money.

My husband, a Veteran of Korea, US Army, saved 122$ a month to purchase a 10,000$ life insurance policy to pay for his funeral. His Social Security check was only $566. A month, he paid for his insurance out of this check. He lived in a nursing home and of course they took everything else he had. At the time of his death my son was the beneficiary of the policy, to pay for funeral expenses. We called to claim them on the policy. The Representative on the phone said, "Oh, you don’t get anything, the State of Texas gets the money!!" Why? Because my son owed child support. His place of employment is taking child support out of his paycheck. But the State of Texas said, "Well his ex might have applied for state assistance sometime in the past."

Shame on the State of Texas and Shame on the insurance Company! An elderly veteran thought he had everything taken care of, just to be slapped in the face in death. How can this happen? Not one person ever once said if you leave your policy to anyone that has owed the state will get nothing! Where in this policy say; “BEWARE” and be careful who you leave your policy to. The policy was paid for by the deceased not by someone who owes something to the State! So folks ask questions. Find out the facts before you pay years for a policy that you will never get paid on!

I was taken by surprise at this response until I realized that this is how they would save 100K if I did not get this payment in on time, in 26 years always on time and now at 75 years old they saw the chance to escape their obligation.

Whatever the matter - do not go to her. She does not follow up or get the job done when it comes to being a liaison between you and the insurance company. When I inquired with her why her effort was so weak in attempting to help us get an answer from the company, her response was that she had other clients to get to...despite us mutually agreeing to continue our reach-out.

This was after her deliberate lack of responsiveness and over A MONTH of no answers from the insurance - she was totally comfortable with those circumstances and took for granted the level of patience I was exercising with her, to the point of her being relieved and downright COZY in brushing me off. Not direct, beats-around-the-bush, and entirely amateur when it comes to resolving issues as an agent. Being as uninformed as she was, she had caused several confusions between the client and the company that she was not willing to clarify, although initially she was deceptive that she would. Most importantly - those confusions costed us the chance of approval with a great company. A shorter review? She will not get the job done - complete and utter waste of time.

I cancelled two policies I had with United of Omaha--a Mutual of Omaha subsidiary. They need, at least, TWO full working days to process a payment. If you increase the face value of your policy this pathetic company will quote upwards of THREE "due dates" within the space of two weeks. The result is a customer does not know, from one day to the next, whether their policy has been DEactivated or REactivated.

For one of the three "due dates" I was given (by mail) LESS than a one week advance notice to submit a $480.00 payment. Even though I sent my payment by overnight delivery, and said payment was delivered prior to the "due date," the possibly arrogant staff at United of Omaha "sat" on this payment for two full working days. Thus my policy was placed in "deactivated" status. This same policy was REactivated when United of Omaha was "inspired" to post my payment. With the removal of my business (policy cancellations) United of Omaha will need to find someone else to "play games" with.

The rep said I should have been more informed, and read the details, and when I asked him if he would buy this policy, he said, "No. I wouldn't. It's not an ideal policy." Not the reps fault, but this is a scam taking advantage of older people, and scaring them into large debt death amounts to not leave behind for loved ones. DO NOT SIGN FOR THIS SCAM.

There must have been a glitch in my bank account and the money not there when they went to autodraft. I have 5 other insurance policies with various companies - this is the only one that lapsed and cancelled my policy - oh they sent me a letter in the mail. Who reads that anymore. So now I lost all the money I paid into for years. All they had to do was redraft it or call me and say hey - but no they sent a letter and that was it. I'm finding out a year ½ later when I'm trying to make changes to policy!

A broker of Mutual of Omaha sold me a policy. Later, I called him to let him know I was canceling my policy and moving from 401K account to another broker. He said that he has process the cancellation on his end. I was unaware that he did not cancel my policy. I incorrectly thought that the automatic withdraw was for a health insurance cost as it only said "United". For 2 years this broker was getting a commission on my account that he knew he was suppose to cancel. I reached out to the broker, he never returned my calls. I called Mutual of Omaha in April 2019, they said they would investigate. I called back multiple times and now finally in June they say there is nothing they can do to issue me a refund. They noted, the broker didn't return their call either and that he is being investigated.

I expressed my frustration, that they have decided I will not get a refund before they have completed their investigation of the fraudulent broker. I have asked that I be refunded whatever commissions this broker received by defrauding me, Mutual of Omaha told me this was not possible. I am very disappointed they are not holding their broker more accountable.

I recently had skin cancer surgery. Luckily, the doctors were able to get it all. Even with the huge scar on my face, sadly the nightmare began when I reached out to Mutual of Omaha regarding the invoices from the procedures. I explained to the first person I spoke with that I had 4 invoices for this entire process. 1 for the original biopsy, 1 for the actual surgery, 1 for the anesthesia for the closing/tissue transfer and 1 for the actual closing/tissue transfer to close the massive hole under my eye. I gave him the contact info and invoice codes for each invoice and he tried to call each one while I held, but didn't get an answer. He asked me to call back the next day to "try again". I did so, and had to go through the entire process again with another representative. I asked if I could just fax or email the invoices in so they would have all the details. She stated I could.

I emailed all the docs, with my policy # on each, while I remained on hold for her to attempt to call each provider.... again. She then asked me to call back again another day for an update. I called BACK today, and the representative informed me they had already cut 2 checks last week for the procedures. I asked her for the details of each amount she gave me, as they were WAY off from any of the actual balances. She stated they take the highest bill 1st and pay a certain % of it. Then only pay up to 50% of the remaining balances. REALLY? I've paid for this policy for over 15 years and only a "certain %" and "up to 50%" is all that they'll cover?

Still with that already crazy logic, ALL the %'s combined were way below 50% of ALL the total balances. Plus they did not pay anything for 2 invoices AT ALL and said they included those amounts in the 2 VERY small checks they cut already. BUT she couldn't explain how they did it, which tells me they didn't. Needless to say, I am extremely upset. Over $2600 in invoices from a cancer procedure I had to have, and this is how I'm treated after being a customer for over 15 years?!? Plus, I have referred clients of mine to them many times. Praying none of them have to use their policy! Simply a sad way to treat any customer, but especially a long time customer.

First of all I would rate them as a zero instead of a one star. Mutual of Omaha has been a nightmare ever since I started dealing with them. I was given disability insurance via Mutual of Omaha through my previous employer. My heart stopped on April 25, 2017 and was brought back to life by my coworkers using CPR and an AED "Automated External Defibrillator." I was provided with short term disability. My employer denied me workmen's comp so I had to sue them. A settlement was reached on a "controverted basis" which was not for any medical expenses or lost wages. It was basically a denial that they would not be responsible for any future medical expenses or lost wages.

Mutual of Omaha approved my long term disability and found out about my settlement. They immediately told me that I had to reimburse them for of all my short term disability that they had paid me. In addition, they would be taking all the settlement money from my long term disability until all of my settlement money was paid back to them. This company does not deal fairly with their insurees. I have suffered an incredible amount of stress as a result of dealing with Mutual of Omaha. My case manager Samantha ** has not helped me in any way or shape to try to resolve this situation that they have created. She even went as far to say she had other clients who took out money and use most of it to take a family vacation but only rule 15% of the money had to go towards the home. After a year of paying towards the policy I called to take out a loan and was informed all of that was incorrect that it was a insurance policy and that what I was told was all untrue.

I'm so disappointed and angry that she would come into my home and tell me a bunch of lies just to get a commission check. I requested to cancel the policy ASAP and demanded a full refund of a year worth of the money already spent. I was only refunded 1 month of the policy so called again and was told a ticket was entered and I had to wait 21 days before getting it resolved. Now a month and half later I haven't heard anything. So I called again and now getting the run around that they can't refund my money. No one apologise for the lies that their rep told me or acted like they wanted to help. Then they just closed his claim and assumed that he would be going back to work after 6 weeks. Interestingly enough, at the 6 week orthopedic doctor's appointment, the doctor noted that "Jim" was not ready to go back to work and we submitted the patient status form accordingly to M of O soon after the appointment. Then the payments stopped, and now 4 weeks later after that 6 week appointment, both us and "Jim's" doctor is fighting M of O on receiving any payments because they claim that "Jim should be back to work by now".

"Jim" also suffered a back injury due to the breaking his ankle and yet, M of O is stating "Well, we'll review this case, but our staff doctor will decide if this is approved for back payments." Hmmmmm... It's interesting that they have a staff doctor to review cases and yet he/she does not personally check out the injured person. Mutual of Omaha are crooks and they are not interested in helping out those in need. They would rather cause undue stress because money is more important than people. What a huge disappointment. Original Review: April 4, 2019

0 stars deserved. My experience with this company has been nothing short of a nightmare. I just had a major surgery and have been out already a month, but was only approved for two days’ pay. Had to while trying to recover from surgery go back and forth to my doctor’s office for nonstop paperwork and more requested documents proving I’m supposed to be out of work 6-8 weeks. Because of my 2 week post op appt, because my incision was healed and I’m not on narcotic medications in which they only gave me a weeks’ worth. Their 3rd party dr. deemed me ok enough to go back to work after an open surgery for a 9 centimeter cyst removal, ovary, Fallopian tube, and scattered debris removal from another busted cyst. I was told because I work a desk job they can’t pay me for ten additional days! I’m going back to work more than 4 weeks early because of them not assisting with short term disability.

Ridiculous when dr originally stated could be 6 to 8 weeks and Mutual of Omaha deems me ok after 2 weeks because they don’t want to pay 10 more days to a mother of 3 who counted on it for taking care of family and bills. If I didn’t have surgery the cyst could’ve killed me! Still waiting on a manager to call back. I will let my employer know about this so no one else has to go through such misery at a time you are trying to recover from major surgery.

Agents sold my 78-year-old mother 3 life policies which had premiums totaling more than 50% of her monthly income. When I became involved at her pleading to help her pay premiums, I registered the policies on their online system. It took 3 months from request and 5 phone calls to get the 3 policies uploaded so I could see the payment history and payments due.

When I finally had enough, I called and stayed on phone for over one hour only to find out they were imputing incorrect name spelling which cause info not to load. Don’t bother to fill out e-form asking for a return phone call because it will NEVER happen. Then, they take premiums from bank account in amounts that do not reflect the premiums. Payments made for interest are not tracked in payment history. In short, it’s a nightmare to track every month.

Then, they keep sending almost every month solicitation to me and my mother to buy more policies. They also call soliciting. I’ve asked them to stop. You will not get a licensed agent if you call with a question. This is not the service based company you remember from the ’60s and infrastructure is sub-par when it comes to billing and return of phone calls.

We never received notice of the huge increase until I discovered it 6 months later on my bank statement, so we were charged $1,463.34. That is a huge amount for retired senior citizens. I called her "direct line" and received her voicemail where I left a message for her to return my call and that I wanted a check overnighted either "today (22nd) or at the very latest, tomorrow (23rd)".

I did not received a call and after 2 hours I called customer service. I spoke to yet another representative who couldn't explain why it took a month and a half to complete a policy cash out, and why, in said month and a half, I had received 2 letters from Mutual of Omaha trying to sell me more insurance (I'll bet it didn't take them a month and a half to send the letters to open a policy)!!! I have been guaranteed a call back as soon as the reps supervisor comes in tomorrow...9:30am Central Time. I am BEYOND disappointed with Mutual of Omaha's customer service and would strongly discourage anyone from starting any policy with them. It never took me a month and a half to make my premium payments and I seriously doubt if they would have continued the policy if I had taken as long to pay my premiums as they have in paying my cash-out claim...

I'm the irrevocable beneficiary of my mother's policy. I've been making payments as well as paying intrust payment as well on a loan my sister took without permission. Fraud. Last week the same sister called to stop payment or cancel. So they canceled policy. Which is against the contract! I called and recorded the conversation. Was told the policy would be reopened which it wasn't. In fact they mailed a check in my mother's name as a payoff on whole life. Also against the policy contract. I'm not sure if an idiot did this or just another case of a bad faith policy. I going to call tomorrow to try to fix this. If I get no satisfaction I'm filing a complaint with the state, which will end up costing them more money in the long run.

I have all the paperwork and copies of online service. My payment came out on 10th the policy was canceled on 15th. I was lied to on the phone. But as I stated I records the call. Instead of being a victim and the back and forth. I going to email my complaint to have even more evidence if I don't get satisfaction with tomorrow's call. I will then file a complaint with the state and the BBB. My time is valuable and I'm not one to waste time with cheats and dilettantes. I suggest to take charge and do your homework before dealing with a billion dollar industry. They will always take the route of what's best for them. By either paying or deny payments. Luckily for me I have overwhelming evidence and nothing but time. Just want what is owed. No more no less. Rather they pay a little now or more later is on them.

Filed a claim with our bank and they're still trying to pull from our accts and Chase had to step in and tell them they don’t have our authorization to pull from our accts. Still receiving letters to pay premiums or our policy would be canceled. Still waiting for a refund of over 100.00... every time we call they pass the ball as to why our policies haven’t been canceled... must be a billion dollar corporation because they steal from your bank acct...

We enrolled with Mutual Omaha life Insurance. Because the policy was not what we were looking for at the time we decided to cancel the policy within the first 30 days of purchase. My husband contacted the sales agent to cancel as he was instructed to do in the time of purchase. The payments continued to be withdrawn from our bank account. Adding overdraft fees for unexpected payments as well. A total of over $800. We tried to contact the agent, his boss and no one has responded or answered the calls. We call the company and their response was that they have nothing to do with what the agent does. But they are authorized to remove Money from the account. No one has taken accountability for their actions. This is completely unprofessional and irresponsible.

My mother paid premiums on a John Wayne Cancer policy for many years. She was diagnosed with terminal ovarian cancer in May of 2018 and died from this cause several weeks later in a skilled nursing facility (not her residence) under professional hospice care. As her son and only heir, I filed for benefits of $630 dollars to help defray the cost of the hospice care she received which is clearly stated in the policy as a covered benefit.

Mutual of Omaha refused to pay any benefits, claiming that the hospice facility and confinement was her "place of residence", which was untrue and documented to be untrue. In short, the impression given was that their claims analysts have a vested interest in defining terms to avoid payment under their policy. If they condone this practice for $630, how much more incentive do they have to avoid payment on large policies that are sold to those expecting their loved ones to be taken care of?

My parents both recently had to go into long term care due to dementia. I became their court appointed guardian and trustee of their estate. In going through all their finances I noticed my mother while going through the beginning stages of dementia began taking out lots of credit cards and spending a lot of money on magazine subscriptions and other things like many different life insurance policies which had high monthly premiums but very little return due to her age.

I cancelled all of these extraneous expenses. As an example of the typical experience of cancellation I had no trouble cancelling their New York Life, life insurance policy. They asked that I fax in the guardianship paperwork and they would cancel the policies. I did and called them back and they cancelled. I even got a refund, albeit small, for the value of each policy.

I found Mutual of Omaha on their bank statements as United/DTC INS Premium but couldn't find an actual paper policy in their files like I did with their other policies. So I called in and gave them their information to track down the policies. They found the policies and asked that I fax in the guardianship paperwork. I did and when I called back on a later date to make sure they processed the paperwork I got a very rude customer service rep who at first seemed to not be able to find the policies by simply giving her their names. After finally finding the policies she put me on hold and came back to tell me that my guardianship paperwork was received which would give me access to review their policy but wasn't a high enough level to allow me to cancel the policy. She said I would need to get a specific court order sent just to cancel their policy.

Now I know for a fact this just isn't true. I had gone through the process of much more rigorous scrutiny of gaining control over their retirement accounts and bank accounts by simply presenting the documents from the court ordering me as their appointed guardian of their estate and persons. I cancelled all their credit cards by faxing in these guardianship papers to each credit card company. Not one company challenged this paperwork and all cooperated accordingly.

Guardianship is a level higher than a power of attorney. The court appointed me as guardian because they were deemed incapacitated and weren't able to make any decisions like signing a power of attorney with me. So either Mutual of Omaha is intentionally lying in order to make it difficult to cancel policies which is fraud and illegal or they are terribly incompetent and not knowledgeable of the legal system. Either way this doesn't look good for a company that deals with legal matters like life insurance. I resolved this matter by calling my bank to have them block reoccurring charges.

We understood for the first 2 years if she passed the only benefit would be the return of our premiums. That was fair enough for us. My sister was with us for 8 more wonderful years until she passed on June 8, 2018. The funeral home we selected did everything for us including taking care of the life insurance policy. On June 15th we buried her. We got a call from Mutual of Omaha a check for 10,000 had been sent and on June 23rd we received it. Mutual of Omaha did everything we expected and more in a very prompt and timely manner. This is a great company!

My Family chose Mutual of Omaha because it was a name on which we could rely, and as a family, we took comfort in that. Over the years, Mutual of Omaha became the only trusted household name for life insurance for our family.

From the beginning, in 1963, my family enjoyed Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom television program, and we looked forward to sharing our family time watching the program as a family together. It was as if Mutual of Omaha WAS part of our family. Because of Mutual of Omaha’s commitment to education, preservation of wildlife, and other altruistic actions made by the company, we came to trust Mutual of Omaha and felt like all the other companies were only out there to make money, while Mutual of Omaha was different; Mutual of Omaha was a company to be trusted and believed in when things were hard.

For us the slogan “Mutual of Omaha is people you can ‘count on’ when the going's tough” was not a slogan for sales, it was reality we could trust enough to invest the security of our family. As a result, when the time came, we chose Mutual of Omaha as our Life Insurance Company. When we purchased these policies, my parents were healthy and happy, and had no idea illness would strike in the years to come.

Unfortunately, through our recent experience with Mutual of Omaha because of my Mother’s passing, we found that all our trust and respect for Mutual of Omaha was severely misplaced, and in many ways, we feel fools betrayed for buying into the “hype” at the expense of our family’s livelihood. There are many reasons for this feeling. In the beginning, we contacted Mutual of Omaha regarding my Mother’s death on May 8, 2018, and Mutual of Omaha met us with resistance and unprofessionalism.

As we checked on my Mother’s policy and other policies, Mutual of Omaha informed us that there was a good possibility that some of the policies sold to us by Mutual of Omaha were policies Mutual of Omaha knowingly and willingly sold to my elderly parents that would be unusable by them; policies for which we have been paying on for several years.

Next, Mutual of Omaha informed us that my Mother’s most recent and most significant policy was a few months short of maturity and we would receive only a return of the money we paid into the policy. After this first call, it took over eleven more to get accurate and relevant information for our policies. Mutual of Omaha returned none of our phone calls.

Furthermore, out of the over eleven calls we had to make to Mutual of Omaha, only two of the representatives we spoke to were professional, compassionate, and were even effective at their job. Despite the news the two professional representatives (one being Brittany **, who we were GRATEFUL to speak with and you are lucky to have working for you. I wish we knew the name of the other lady so we could thank her) were forced to bring to us, these two highly professional women were the only positive experiences we had out of our entire interaction with Mutual of Omaha.

For example, in one of the nine unacceptable calls, I was on hold for over forty-five minutes, I was unheard and aggressively verbally accosted by the customer service agent, to which I responded with an even tone in a kind and patient manner over eight times: “Thank you, I understand that you cannot give me that information, and I do not want to against protocol, but is there any way online, or anywhere else my family can find this information out about our policy? If you cannot speak to me, the Executor of the Estate, could you speak to someone else, perhaps my Father who has been married to my now deceased mother for fifty-nine years?” to which she finally responded with “If he wants to speak with me, I will assess if I can give him that information.”

As my father was unavailable when the Mutual of Omaha Representative finally answered the phone, after over forty-five minutes, we called the next day to find out that Mutual of Omaha had no intention of releasing any more money than what we had paid in, in essence just refunding our money, because my Mother’s policy was a few months short of maturity. We bought the policies to pay for funeral expenses, and we opted for the least expensive funeral options we could, due to the extreme cost of funerals these days. We were confident that due to our frugalness in our funeral planning, the “adjusted Death Benefit” policy a few months short of maturity would at least pay for her funeral expenses.

Today we found out that the disbursement will not cover a fraction of my Mother’s funeral expenses, which puts an extreme hardship on my family. As if this was not a big enough blow to our family, since we filed my Mother’s Death Certificate with Mutual of Omaha, we have received between three to five sales letters offering to sell my deceased Mother more life insurance policies. Like the policies my parents purchased, a section of these offerings have an acknowledgment statement to sign stating: “I understand that a reduced Death Benefit amount is payable during the first two years if death results from sickness or other natural causes.”

It is my understanding that a refund of money paid into a system is NOT considered a “reduced Death Benefit Amount”. And as it clearly states on my Mother’s Death Certificate that she died from natural causes, we dispute the Death Benefit Amount Mutual of Omaha has chosen to release to us. It pains my family greatly that Mutual of Omaha treated us in such a manner, as Mutual of Omaha was a company that we have trusted and believed in for over fifty years. We feel more than betrayed by a company we respected and trusted for over fifty years.

Updated on 03/06/2018: I wrote a review to Mutual of Omaha and lo and behold they now want to talk or resolve my issue. That is really funny as I could never get a response before and now that can see a public post they want to help. The best thing is that Customer Service will be reaching out, they are the ones that caused the problem. I'm completely devoid of Mutual of Omaha policies.

Updated on 03/10/2018: Just wanted to follow up and let everyone know that I did receive a call from Customer Service. They were dumbfounded as to why this happen to me and said they would "look into it." This company has the WORST customer service and just don't care about the policyholder or like me a former policyholder. I would encourage anyone considering a purchase from Mutual of Omaha DON'T! Do your homework and seek out a better company.

They are a mutual company, therefore, I am one of the owners of the company for buying the insurance from them. And doing so lowers the total monthly cost to me. We (as a family) are not wealthy enough to not need life insurance and it is a way of putting net worth in place for people with a lack of net worth. Besides, it is really death insurance anyway.

My Daughter Rachel was killed in an auto accident on Jan. 20th. She was 16 years old and unfortunately you don't ever plan on your child to not outlive you, so I really need this money to cover funeral cost. I have been calling since the 25th of January and have been told numerous times that I will receive a call back in 24-48 hours. I waited the first 48 hour and have yet to receive a phone call back except a week and a half ago by some women that left a number at my home and I specifically told them to have someone call me on my cell number. I have tried to contact this person 5 times with no phone call back. The claims dept. keeps telling me that they have to go to protocol to send the info to the death dept. They see all the times I have called but they tell me all they can do is send the message. You can't get a hold of a Supervisor or anyone to call you back. This is ridiculous!

I have been paying Mutual of Omaha for 9 years faithfully and now that I need the attention, so I can get someone to discuss the claim and how it will be handled the company is MIA!!! Do I need to get an attorney to contact them or the Insurance commissioner? I hope someone from Mutual of Omaha is reading this! This is a 22,000 policy for my Daughter. Is it really going to kill you guys to call me back? Check your records on how many damn times I have called you. I am going to let so many people know how bad their customer service is on social media and my community. Why do you even bother selling accident insurance if you don’t have the capability to have your people do their jobs.

I want a callback. I have to work for a living and I don't have the time to be sitting every day for 40 min on the phone with these people. I will be putting this out to as many people as I can this week that your company is horrible to work with. Please be aware that this company is horrible with customer service and their protocol is horrific that they only communicate in the claims dept by email. You cannot talk to anyone in that department unless they call you back.

However, it has been practically impossible to get through to the insurance company because they just hang up on the 1-800 number due to "heavy call volume." It does not matter what time of day you call to make a claim, you can never get through. Together, the executor of Marion's will and I have called nearly a dozen times. The one time we got through (after an hour's wait!), we complained about their service and asked if there was a direct line, fax or e-mail and were told no --the 1-800 number is the only way. We have still not been able to have a meaningful exchange of information to process the claim, and it has been over a month of trying.

When my sister passed away in a house fire, the coroner ruled her death accidental. Mutual of Omaha dragged the process out for six months and finally refused to pay saying she didn't answer her questions on the application correctly. I believe that she did answer the questions correctly (some of the items they mentioned were not even how she had responded). They certainly didn't have problems taking her premiums. Even more insulting are all the requests from Mutual of Omaha after her death offering "guaranteed acceptance with no physical exam required" insurance. It's bad when people think they have their final expenses covered. I think it's a form of false advertising.

We bought a Universal Life Insurance policy for my husband and I over 20 years ago. They did send me a summary sheet. They ended up requiring that I pay over $2500 a month to catch the policy up. I called the company and then my agent. No response from her. After over 20 years of making payments, the policy has cash out value of $1184.25. The agent is WELL aware of the scam or she would call me back. This type of scam collects yearly fees for over 20 years around $50,000, allows a policy to go into the bad somehow, to such a degree that the policy is eventually canceled because we can't pay the monthly payments. Guess we got too old and they didn't have to pay out the death benefit. We're going to have to stop making payments and let it cancel. Our 4th payment monthly of $2000+ is due 1-27-2018. So they got another $7500 from us for the last 3 months trying to work this out.

Upon contact with the Mutual of Omaha rep, and before signing papers, I insisted on whole life. Upon receipt of documents, I called the rep and she assured me she sold me a whole life policy. Their trained rep lied, sold me a universal life, not whole, and nothing but a slap on her wrist took place. After investing over $25K, I found out the truth, because premiums had gone up. Never on whole life. Whole life was easy to purchase back then. Mutual of Omaha’s staff “pass the buck” and now my orphaned granddaughter will be left with nothing. I trusted the name so much I even tossed an action file suit form in the trash. I trusted the rep. I am heartbroken to have sacrificed so much and be disregarded. Never an investigation. Begged rep to be honest and tell them she made an error.

Last time I spoke to the rep, she informed me she was told to never speak to me again. She would not reveal the name. Return my premiums and stop the corruption. Where is this company’s conscience, to do this to a 2 year old in 2002 then ask for additional premiums. Epitome of indecency. Advice: Take documents to an attorney, pay a fee to “read between the lines” and ensure this never happens to you and your loved ones. I have a copy of documents. Respectfully submitted.

I bought a Universal Life Insurance policy for my husband and I over 20 years ago. The monthly fees kept going up to the point where it not only ate up all of the investment, but went into the "red". The single page sheet report they sent had nothing noted except a summary on the back. They ended up requiring that I pay over $1500 to catch the policy up. I called, complained to a VP & they let me pay off the amount, increased my policy payment by 1/3 so that it wouldn't happen again. Since then, I have had to increase my payment another time.

Now I have been required to REDUCE the coverage so that the payment doesn't go up yet again. After over 20 years, the policy has NO money in it, I have less coverage and it will probably happen again and again. The agents are WELL aware of the scam on the "report" that most people miss, as I talked with an agent and they nodded. This is a complaint that has been reported by many. This type of scam collects monthly fees, allows a policy to go into the red to such a degree that the policy is eventually canceled.

I explained that we were having a memorial for him and that he had actually donated his body to science. I suggested they contact the donation center to verify his death. Bottom line is that if you stay with these folks, they will reward you with substantially higher premiums. Do not trust them and fail to shop other sources. When I canceled my policy my new insurance sent a letter and I called. Mutual Omaha sent me a cancelation letter so I shredded all the packet information and never looked back. Two months later I realize they had mischarged me two months so I called to have it fixed. The woman was nice, back dated, and promised me a refund 10 days later via USPS. 16 days pass and nothing so I call again to find out they declined my refund because they claim there's no proof of this letter they sent me and they are unwilling to refund me the mistake on their end. The woman I talked to the second time kept interrupting me on the phone and wouldn't listen until I reminded her I was in the middle of talking and wished to finish one sentence without being disrupted.

She told me she'd have it reviewed again and I asked for someone to call me. She was rude not because she treated me rude but because she treated me like just another customer and I told her I was getting really frustrated and upset with the lack of customer service and misinformation and bad record keeping on their end and she had nothing nice to say. I requested a callback from a manager and she said she marked my account and got off the phone. All I want is my refund promised to me in the first place. But after being treated so rudely, not having anyone call me to talk about anything with my policy and being treated like just another **. I will NEVER use this company again AND I recommend that you don't use them. If you do - good luck. All reviews I have seen now say 2 stars at best. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Acquired three whole life policies through Mutual of Omaha. I have had a mix of customer service experiences over the three years I've had these policies. The mix is mainly with the attitudes of representatives. Ranging from very pleasant to despicable. Having the business I contacted them completed in a timely fashion or at all, is another story. I need a very simple letter as does millions of other people in the beginning of the year stating the values of the policy. It is a short and simple form letter, that they must have to provide for a large number of their customers. Every year thus far it has been an arduous task to obtain this simple document from them. Even the copy they claim they can provide to you via email in 48 hours seems never to make it.

The last CSR I spoke with told me if they weren't able to provide me with the documents I need in the time I need them I have the option to cancel my policies and forfeit the premiums I have paid the last three years and then laughed. I hung up on him and called back only to find out that the documents I requested (a week ago) were never submitted and only a request for a change of beneficiary has been made. I never made that request. Seems very shady to me. I am first going to complain on every board and blog there is, inform the BBB, and file a complaint with my States Department of Banking and Insurance. I am considering very seriously about filing a lawsuit to recover my premiums, on the grounds that after a certain amount of time they fail to provide you with customer service and withhold documents that you need, in an effort for you to cancel your policy and keeping your premiums you've paid thus far free and clear.

20 year ago this November my husband purchased, through his business a million dollar -20 year pay term insurance policy. When he left the company, we kept paying the monthly premiums to this day. Now that he is coming to the end of his 20th year, the policy goes to 6 figures a month. Obviously, beyond what we can pay annually. They tell us that somewhere in the 20 page+ document 5 years ago, if we had called THEM (or the agent)... who don't know where he is we had a chance to buy less insurance and continue the policy like at $100K. Obviously at 15 years into the policy, we had it filed with our final documents and never called. Consequently, he is turning 79 and he has NO life insurance and he has had health issues and cannot pass a physical.

As seniors this is a RIP OFF that we should be expected to remember something that happened 20 years ago. We don't make a practice of reviewing our final documents on a yearly or even at that time 5 year basis. So we have paid in over $200,000 and can't get insurance. I find it interesting that not once in the past 20 years have they missed taking out on a monthly premium... Wow, if I had changed bank accounts or did not have funds,, they would have reached out to me. But they can't do the same... Don't they realize we are seniors and have not the best recall of things that happened 20 years ago. What made us recall is that we remember it was a 20 year policy. I understand it is common amongst insurers like Mutual of Omaha to do this... They win - we lose.

I think this practice of ripping off people as they age (and did not have to collect on the insurance) should be investigated by Congress or at least State Insurance policies... We are not asking for anything but at least a portion of the total premium paid in should be put into force as term insurance and we would gladly pay the premium for $100K or the same outrageous amount that we were paying for 1 million... we would pay for $100K.

Was given what the amount would be etc. They came out, tested my blood and started deducting money for the policy. They only allow check account deductions. (Don't do it.) A month and half later I finally receive the policy in the mail, it has been changed. They won't cover anything that may happen to anything that I have had a complaint about at the doctors. I contact the agent, tell her I want to cancel, get told that I need to sign the sheet that they sent with the policy and fax it to her telling her to cancel. Then she tells me after a week that I need to mail back the whole policy.

2 months later after telling her I wanted to cancel the policy I bypass her and contact the company directly. They try to tell me I need to send a cancellation, that they didn't get it and that it would be 30 days before I would see a refund. I screamed and hollered that I would not accept that so they finally mailed out the refund snail mail. It took exactly a week to get to me, then it wasn't even the full amount that they owe me. It was over 80 dollars short. Tried to call them but of course they are closed and I already know they will tell me it will be another week before I get my refund. I would tell anyone considering this company to run the other way. You do not want to deal with them. Can't imagine how it would be if you actually needed to use the policy. Thank goodness I am not going to wait around to find out and I recommend you don't either.

My son's father had a life insurance policy with his employer West Side Transport. The policy was with United of Omaha Life Insurance Company, owned and operated by Mutual of Omaha. My son's father passed suddenly. We were told at the funeral home the policy was worth 181,000 dollars and was good. A paper from United of Omaha Life was faxed to the funeral home. After a few days we were notified that the policy was no good. That there had been a mix up between the employer and the insurance company even though the premiums were being take out of his check each pay.

My son's father wanted this money for my son and his family, wife and two grandchildren. My son is a disabled Veteran and this was a way for his father to make sure they could get a home and provide for the grandchildren if anything happened to him (the father). United of Omaha Life Insurance Company has refused to pay now changing their story since my son has filed a lawsuit against them, saying there was a computer error on their end. The case has been decided by District Court in Columbus, Ohio twice in favor of my son, so the insurance company decided to take it to a higher court in Cincinnati, Ohio where it is currently under review and awaiting a hearing.

By the time this case is decided my son will be lucky to get one third 1/3 of the monies his dad intended for him. The attorney fees are astronomical having to hire 3 attorneys to fight this case, whereas the insurance company has all the money and can fight as long as they want. My son will be lucky to have one third 1/3 of the original policy amount left. This has been such a hardship on his family. His father helped him and his family a lot and this was his intention for them to have a home and secure future for the grandchildren. I would recommend no one ever put their family's future or trust into this company. They are horrible people with only money and greed being their interest. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!

I was hired on to their company and was required to scam every person I knew. After leaving the company I was required to pay back every penny I made and then some. 2 months worth of 45+ hour work weeks to net -$500. This company is a complete joke and the people running it are con artists. DO NOT get life insurance from them and DO NOT work for them. They promise pie in the sky, hopes and deliver on none of it due to some loophole they add into every policy. You'd be better off putting your money in a retirement account or getting insurance through work.

Told was processed on November 24, 2015, mailed November 25, 2015. False. Was not mailed according to post mark until November 30, 2015 and received December 4, 2015. This was not sent as a rush pay. Everyone I spoke to did not tell the truth. My premium is taken out the 5th of every month by Chase since March 2011. Never missed a payment. If I was not fully vested I would cancel my policy. Still upset that a company that I trusted gave me continual misinformation.

Be warned if you purchase an Easy Start Policy for your young child, thinking the rate you are paying is "locked in" for the rest of your child's life like they say on their website and in all the paperwork. It is very misleading. At age 25, the policy will automatically convert to a whole life policy, and your child's rate will go WAY up! Probably about 4 times higher than the current rate. Now, if you only want cheap life insurance for when your child is young, it's probably worth it. I had peace of mind as my child grew up, knowing I had $18,000 worth of insurance for about $75 per year. But on his 25th Birthday, he got a letter saying it was automatically converting to whole life and his new rate was $240 per year.

A call confirmed there was no way to keep it as a term policy, so basically, 23 years of premiums paid down the drain! The representative also confirmed the whole life policy would build "cash value", however it started building it when it converted, not when it was a "term" policy, so no benefit at all for the previous 23 years of payments. My stock in Mutual of Omaha went WAY down for the misleading way they promote this policy, making you think you are helping your child have an affordable life insurance policy when they are grown, by starting this one early in their life. I'm thankful I don't have any other policies with this company, and never will. Be warned!

Mutual of Omaha is very affordable. They are well established and a very reputable life insurance company. My family has used this company for all of our life insurance needs and we have never had any complications. When my parents died, they were truly here for us when it came time to cash in the needed policies. We didn't have to wait at all. They really made this awful loss endurable. They even offered to assist in the funeral services.

Being fairly new to this particular insurance policy, there isn't a whole lot to say about it yet. However, so far it's been great. I can access their online website to make adjustments, contact customer services, and research other products in which this company has to offer. Upon joining, the representative answered every one of my questions thoughtfully. He also offered a complete written manual, which he sent to me by postal mail.

I have nothing to say about their customer service because I've never had to use it (except for the first initial contact made when I signed up for life insurance). I have a policy for $100,000 and I pay less than $25 a month, which is a good deal since I'm over 40. I've had my policy for over five years and I have no intention of replacing it.

I called and ask for a receipt for my premium payment that I had paid up to date. I was told by an unqualified rep that the company does not give receipts either by paper or by email. This boggles my mind! When you pay for anything in this economy you always get a receipt after you pay for something. I have to depend on their word that my policy was paid. Then I was told that I missed my August payment which I know I didn't. But if I did, my policy would have been cancelled. Then why are they still accepting my premium payments? There was no written or oral conversation to let me know this. When creating this account to write a review, it states I have been a member since this month, 11/2015! Horrible insurance company!

I then went back on line to confirm and make another payment and it said it was not 'available' to me to make a payment online... what??? I then had to scramble to find the right phone number and got through to a female and she said she couldn't take the payment over the phone and that I would have to mail in a check... what??? So, I did mail a check which was very inconvenient. So, I recently went back in to the site to make an online payment and 'again' would let me do it online. I called again and they said they didn't know what the problem is and trying to find out what to do! I said 'I'm done!' They sent me to umpteen people but I ended up with someone that asked me a bunch of questions they said I had to answer to get them to fix my rate. I suspect that will not be done and we will continue to be raped by this company just because they can.
