LG claims that their appliances are "built to last," but that is definitely not true for this gas stove. After only a few years of gentle use, it is falling apart. All the knobs are cracked, loose and need to be replaced, the centre grill cracked and broke, the LED display is starting to act up, the convection oven fan is pretty much useless. Gas valves are also really touchy and can be accidentally activated by accidentally bumping them. Parts are super expensive! LG wants almost $80 per knob to replace (there are five of them) and $240 for the grill assembly -- $640 + tax just for these parts! There are no electronics or moving components to knobs and grills -- they should last forever -- but they don't. Lots of complaints on the internet about LG stove knobs. Replacement knobs look like the same junk as the originals. No improvements. I called LG customer service to ask what they mean by "built to last," but nobody could really say.
My family and I are really disappointed that LG makes false claims about reliability and then charges outrageous prices for parts. Appliances should be repairable - at affordable prices - not disposable. We will be getting rid of this unreliable piece of junk and buying a stove from a reputable company. Please consider other manufacturers that are committed to reliability, service and environmental responsibility. LG does not deserve our business.

I will start by saying that I currently own and have owned many LG products over the years and have been well pleased. I researched appliances for sometime before deciding to purchase LG. I purchased a LG gas double oven slide in range, space saver microwave and dishwasher September 2018. Range had to be ordered and was not installed until October 2018. In less than 2 months the range required a major repair in which multiple parts including the mainboard was replaced. After several attempts from service repairman it was finally repaired January 23, 2019. Issue was determined that there was a direct short. Fan did not work because both the mainboard and relay board were blown so fan did not work to control flames. Oven shuts down and cannot be used.
November 24th, 2019 the same issue occurred again. I had to make several calls to customer service and demand to talk to a supervisor to even a get a service call scheduled. (Let me disclose that this appliance is now just out of the 1 year warranty.) I have requested that LG replace this $2700 range with a brand new one due to its significant electrical and safety issues. An "executive" that only provided a first name and support email contact emailed me to apologize for my inconvenience and offered for me to contact him with any questions or concerns. I have emailed him twice with no response. I am beyond disappointed and the lack of concern from LG is unacceptable. I have asked for contact information for an LG representative that can actually do something to help from both the "executive" and customer support with no response. I have huge concerns since this will be the 3rd mainboard installed in less than a year.

I purchased a higher end LG double oven gas range. It is made poorly using cheap and thin material. They used a silver film for the knobs to give the appearance of stainless steel. I didn’t even realize a metal looking film was used on the knobs until it started bubbling after a few uses. A year and a half later the bottom oven displays an F19 code. An LG technician replaced the harness and the ignition. 2 years later the exact same issue happens. I contacted LG and they do offer warranties for faulty products. Their products are awful especially for what you pay. There are so many other brands who provide quality products at a reasonable price and stand behind their products. I will never purchase LG products again and DO NOT RECOMMEND their products especially their ranges, refrigerators and dishwashers. They all begin to have issues and fall apart within 2 years and you will have to keep having them repaired around every 2 years.

I just purchased my LG double oven range one month ago. Cleaned the cooktop as required by manufacturer. Razored off the food stuck on as by manufacturing specs. A stuck on piece of rice being scraped off by the razor provided with the range caused a chip in the glass. The rice and a piece of glass top came off together. LG states this is not covered under warranty and will not repair. Cleaning a stuck on piece of anything should not cause a piece of glass to come off with it. I bought 3 LG appliances at the same time and I will not buy again. I have had a glass cooktop range before. Cleaned it several times the same way never a problem. This range was over $1000. That glass top should be bulletproof as far as I’m concerned.

Absolutely disappointed with this stove. We bought it because of the good review. It have nice features, but it is always defective. We had the technician four times during the warranty period. Now the warranty is over, and still need him on a regular basis. Every appointment is scheduled weeks later, which is very annoying. (imagine 2 weeks without oven). Among the CON of this oven- Automatic cleaning burn the fuse, every time... unless you move the oven 3 feet from the wall, suggested by their own technician (Gee, we are in 2019!!!). The induction burners have an intricate inside panel, when one is defective 2 or 3 stop. They were supposed to be independent. Every time you open the panel, one of the button break. And most of all, the service is horrible, from the long waiting time on the phone, to the unacceptable delay for the technician visit, to the technician fees... And ability. Please do yourself a favor, choose another one.

We purchased 4 appliances from them for a rental unit - dishwasher oven, microwave, and a refrigerator. The oven started smoking with a an electrical issue upon its first use. It took over 2 weeks to go through their horrible warranty program, only to reach out to Home Depot to get their help. They replaced the unit. The dishwasher broke next, won't even start. LG sent 3 videos and wouldn't schedule a repairman until we pushed for it. The repairman didn't show up for the appointment and now we are waiting 10 days for another. Today, our microwave isn't working at all - except the turntable. No heating, nothing. The only thing that is working so far out of this expensive package is the refrigerator. LG is costing us time and money in this investment property. Would we ever buy LG again? Heck no! The electrical issue with the new stove alone was cause for a huge concern!

We bought our range in May of 2017. By Sept of 2017 it required its first service. It stopped working due to a problem with the connection. It was repaired and was covered by warranty. Now, it’s Oct 2019. The burners don’t heat correctly. The front burner is heating too hot while the left front doesn’t heat at all. Stays lukewarm. Then when I turn on the rear burner the front right comes on. My range is either possessed or just that jacked up. I wouldn’t get another LG range if it were free and came with a professional chef! Do not buy this product.

We now have to fully remove the knobs whenever it is not in use because we have had several close calls. Aside from being unsafe this range heats unevenly, turns off at inopportune times and is very difficult to use.

The knobs are not safe just brushing against them just as other reviewers have said and you have gas leaking into your home-no safety lock position. The oven warms up to 500 degrees no matter where you set the temperature, I have burnt everything I put into this oven as I cannot calibrate to get a correct 350 degree which is at where most baking is done! There must be some website or news outlet to alert the public of this piece of junk produced by LG. Will not be buying nor recommending any product made by LG. I will be putting this on our Nextdoor website as there are lots of homes here in upper $$ that are buying and replacing appliances in their homes!

I was remodeling my kitchen and bought a brand new range and an over the range microwave, delivered 12/2018, installed in Feb 2019 due to kitchen not being ready. When started using it I noticed some white spots or discoloration on the stainless steel front of the range. As the range worked fine I did not immediately call CS to see if anything can be done about this issue. Then the microwave stop working so I called CS and told them about both appliances and they scheduled a time to come out for the MW but told me they would be get back with me about the range which they never did after a week.
When the guys came out to look at the MW I showed them the spots and they tried cleaning them as well. They said I'd have to call back in as nothing was scheduled for the range just the MW. They even confirmed that the front face of the range could be replaced a simple fix. I called the next Monday to ask about this again and the first guy told me from what he could see, from a photo I had sent in the first time, it was nothing that can be done about it. So I ask why he thought that from looking at a photo, he said he would get me over to a supervisor. After being on hold for 20 minutes a guy got on the phone and told me that if I would have called as soon as I noticed the spots that they could have replaced it based on a defect but since I waited that there was nothing they could do about it.
He said it might be a chemical reaction but I told him I've only used what was recommended for me to use. I asked them if they could replace the front piece and he said no that because I waited that there was nothing they could do about it. Yes I waited until the MW stop working before I called because the range was working fine. I know that if CS wanted to help and replace one piece that they could have but they punished me for waiting, it's not as if I was asking for a brand new range. I've already have had a few people ask me what LG did about taking care of the range and now I can let them know and everyone know that they chose not to do anything because I was busy and didn't call right away. I will never buy LG again!!!

Our oven range of its own volition heats up to maximum heat, will not shut off and has to be totally unplugged from electricity. This happened to me 6th Sept 2019. LG has a recall with full in home service for many units exhibiting this potential catastrophic fault. When contacted LG informed me my model was not on the recall list. Their concern and help consisted of advising me to have a recognized LG technician at a cost up to $240 check to find the problem and get it fixed. Check the recall. Judge for yourself if you now want to risk your home, property, life and physical injury buying a LG electric oven range.

I definitely should have done my research before purchasing!!! Biggest regret of my kitchen remodel.

Disappointed. LG gas stove - LSG4513BD. Main burner on LG gas stove top not working in 35 days after install. Bought LG appliances (gas stove, microwave and dishwasher) from Best Buy because of discounts for delivery and price matching. The delivery from the Best Buy subcontracted installer was terrible bringing the wrong stove initially and then rushed to install appliances and scraped my floor. I sent in a complaint to Best Buy and got no response. These guys were incompetent and bottom line, don't buy appliances from Best Buy just because you buy computers or phones from them.
To make this experience even worse, a burner on the LG gas stove is not working 35 days after purchase. Best Buy does nothing and directs you to LG and they are sending a service company with a Sears name giving me an 8am to 5 pm window for repair and no way to communicate with them to firm up am or pm. LG reliability is seriously disappointing and their service follow up is a pain.

Everything about this stove is fine except for the front burner grids. Some fancy designer who has never cooked on a stove in his life decided that it would LOOK GOOD if the front burner grates curved in to match the shape of the griddle. It leaves a big gap on the outer corner of the stove and I ran into the frying pan handle and the pan and all of its hot bacon grease contents went flying across my kitchen. I thought I was being more careful when I hit the handle of a pot of hot stew and it went flying across the kitchen. You must keep your children out of the kitchen when using these front burners. THIS IS A HUGE HAZARD! DO NOT BUY AN LG STOVE WITH GRIDDLE IN THE MIDDLE.

I’ve used the oven once. Don’t buy LG appliances.

Purchased appliance 7/06/2017 from Lowe's. When bending near dials on front of range, they turn on easily at one time causing plastic on burner to melt & stick. Unable to remove since burned into top of range surface. Would be better styled with 1 large burner & 1 small burner in front & same in back of surface. In order to use small burner, dial easily turns on. This range compared to my other range, seems to splash oil more around surface. Must keep lid partially on cooking pan so as not to have this occur.
One 10/21/18 called company due to right front burner not cycling down. My 1 yr. guarantee ran out few days before. Company sent repairman at no cost to me on 10/23/18 since guarantee just ran out. This was truly appreciated by me. I also made mistake ordering this style of range since it was not self-cleaning. Very upset with myself since I have disability make it difficult to bend down for long length of time to clean it myself. My wish is that dials should be at back of range & burners in different positions on surface. This would also would be a safety factor for small children in home.

Lrg3095st. Have almost all our appliances, washer/dryer and TVs LG and they have been very high quality and very reliable. However this range has been a exception. Had several service call for melting knobs and temperature control and latch adjustment. Now it is a little over 5 years old, the front oven door is starting to rust through. LG says this is pretty much normal and they will not make good for their problem so I suggest that you stay away from their stainless steel ranges until they fix their manufacturing problems.

I am very upset with my LG purchase. Back in January 2019 my stove was delivered & installed. Everything seemed fine until I decided to clean the stove using the self cleaning feature on Friday, 8/9/2019. After using the self cleaning feature the enamel on my stove is burnt in the corners of the door. During initial conversation with the Warranty Department I was given a case number and told I would be contacted to arrange an appointment time for their technician to come take a look at the stove. Two days later I receive a phone call from a service company explaining that my cosmetic defect is not covered by the warranty and if they come out and determine it is not a manufacturer defect I will have to pay a service fee. I shared with her my concerns of over-heating or possible burnt enamel and explained that I did not feel comfortable with this scenario.
I called LG back and they decided to send out a Certified LG technician. He called this morning 8/14/19 and said he would be here between 2-5. When he arrived (5:10pm) today he said has no idea what caused these marks, he even noted that he could not test the oven because it happens during the cleaning cycle when the door is locked. He placed a call to his tech team back at the office. Even he gets placed on a LONG hold! He shares with me that he needs to get to his next appointment and will call me back with their determination. When he called me back I was told they are not going to cover the defect that it is burnt on food. (Huh!!)
First how do they know. They were not here? The technician that physically looked at the stove and did not come up with this scenario - a person on the phone did??? But even with this possible scenario - I asked how can food get in-between the gasket and the door? Yet there is no burnt on food anywhere else in the stove. Not even on the floor of the stove! He tells me there is nothing he can do to call customer service again. Now we are waiting on a 2nd technician visit. Please keep in mind I have literally spent hours on the phone with each call. Taken 3 hours off from work today and will need to take additional time off on Friday for the second appointment. I hope this nightmare ends soon.

The knobs on the LG gas range will turn on just by reaching over the stove to get something and turning to walk away. They turn past lite and fill your house with gas. You barely touch them and they do this. This is very dangerous. I have come home 3 times in the last year with my house filled with gas. My elderly mother took a pan off the stove to wash it and then went to the living room not noticing the smell. I came home and nearly passed out when I walked to the kitchen.
I see that there are many reviews with this same issue. I have called LG and they keep trying to send a technician. I have explained it's not a technical issue. Is a very poor design. They will have their safety team call me within 24 hours. I think something needs done about this. People are or probably already have been killed. They certainly have to be aware of this with all the reviews I have read. Next step is to go to the News and do a demonstration so people will be aware and not purchase from this company. Like I said it has happened 3 times in my home and it's dangerous. Please do not buy LG gas ranges.

We purchased the LG gas range through Costco in October of 2017. Purchase through Costco extends the one year warranty to 2 years and using the Costco CitiCard for the purchase extends the warranty for two more years. We began having problems with the range in 2018. When we would turn the oven on we thought there was a smell of propane - this gradually became worse and worse. We noticed it a great deal when attempting to use the Easy Clean function - the burner would not light and the oven would not function during that process. Then we began to notice a problem every time we turned the oven on.
We had the propane company come out and check the tank and flow regulator and everything checked out okay. We contacted LG and after some back and forth and delays the sent a local repair company out in November of 2018. The repair person checked the oven and felt there was a problem with the oven getting the proper amount of air to light. LG support told the repairman they would send an oven valve. That repair was not done until the middle of January 2019. I was told initially by LG to absolutely not use the oven until it was repaired. That meant we went through Thanksgiving and Christmas without being able to use the oven. In between all of this, the owner of the propane company came out and checked the gas flow to the oven since LG was saying they felt the problem could be the propane flow. The propane company did a water column test on the propane from the pipe to the stove and it was perfect.
We began using the oven again and gradually problems began once again until one morning when my husband turned the oven on and the house filled with gas. We rushed around opening all of the windows and turning on fans even though it was a cold morning. This time I not only contacted LG but also contacted Costco concierge. Once again the repair person came out and inspected. He said when the oven is on there is a really bad metallic burning smell and it wasn't lighting properly. He once again had to wait for LG to send repair parts which he replaced as instructed. After completing the repairs the oven was still not lighting properly and was shooting gas. He made several attempts to get it working. The only way the gas would light was if he put his head into the oven and blew into the convection opening. Yikes! This oven is so not safe! I was very concerned that he might be injured by doing such a thing.
Now we are once again in a holding pattern waiting for LG and Costco Concierge to come up with a satisfactory solution. I am fed up with the situation. Not only are we having these problems but this is not a very good range overall. When baking or cooking anything in the oven it is necessary to keep turning the food every few minutes or the back side of the food will be overly browned or burned. The other problem with the oven is there is no shield on the top of the door and if one isn't careful while the oven is open it is very easy to be burned on the leg by the hot metal edge. I haven't had a problem with the knobs on the top being bumped and turned on but when I am cleaning the stove top I usually remove those knobs so that I can clean that surface too.
The burner parts are pretty junky metal but fortunately, they are removable and with some work, it is possible to get them looking okay. I am noticing some rusted areas on the burner caps which seem to be crummy cast iron but I just scrub it off. On the whole, the range is a lot of work to keep up. We won't even go into the Easy Clean (it's a dud) and the regular oven cleaning function is not so great either. Since we now have no idea how much longer this will go on we have purchased a countertop oven to use. We had borrowed one from a neighbor but since this has gone on for far too long we are appreciative of their kindness but don't want to continue borrowing. I feel that LG is just stalling us as long as they possibly can and only hope I can count on Costco to insist they make this right.

We bought this stove 4 years ago and installed it in a new home build. The first cheap plastic knob broke within the first year. We are now down to ONE working knob. I have attempted to repair and strengthen the original knobs multiple times (something LG should have done in the first place). My question is how can a company manufacture such a great product and then put absolute garbage on the most used part of the stove. My real problem is the ridiculous price for the replacement. Is there a realistic option for this? I do not mind spending the money for QUALITY items, but to overpay for the same, substandard item is not feasible. The real sadness is that I will never buy another LG product again because of a $2 knob for a stove that is now costing $30+ and even sadder is the fact LG put such a piece of garbage on their appliances in the first place.

After owing this for 6 months this is definitely a manufacturer issue. Don’t waste your money on LG or their very poor service. They expect me to pay $230 to replace the top.

Called the service immediately, however they were not willing to come, advised to try a couple of weeks.
As the problem continued called the service again (March 15, booked an appointment for the 19th, sent the requested photos of the model and also included the picture of unbaked food. Called on 18th to confirm the date for next day, to my surprise "service was not booked at all". They booked it again for the 20th and followed with the confirmation email with the phone # off the technician. We bought a gas LG range in November 2017, we got the matching refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave and range after we bought a new house. We did not start using it until February 2018 when we moved into the house. Since that time the oven would periodically say it was at temperature but when you open the oven to put in whatever you were cooking you could tell that it was not up to temperature. At first it was sporadic and I thought at first I was doing something wrong. Then it was every time that you would try to use the oven it would not stay up to temperature. Called and got a repair person to come out, under warranty, and we were told the ignitor was bad and it was replaced.
It was less than a month later that it was doing the same thing. The repair person came out again, said again it was an ignitor issue. Ignitor was replaced again. (This time it was not within the warranty period.) It's been a couple months since the ignitor was replaced for the 2nd time and it is doing it again. I will never buy another LG appliance again. When you own an oven you expect that you can use it. Just thankful that the neighbor doesn't mind me using their oven to cook my meals.

This is the worst design I have seen for a gas range. The knobs turn on easily. I first realized this after it had been installed and I told my husband, that could be so dangerous with kids in the home. We have accidentally hit them and turned them on ourselves so to have kids in the home would be awful. Even the older ranges have a safety feature for the knobs so they don't turn so easily. I woke up last night to a house full of gas. The stove had been running gas for at least 5 hours. We live in a multi level condo and the smell had become so strong upstairs that it woke me up.
I did read there is a "lock out" feature by pushing the lower clear/off button down for 3 seconds; however, it's a matter of always remembering to do that. I truly believe there should be a case made and there should be a safety recall on these stoves/ranges. Not happy. I will be shopping for something new. Regardless of the cost, what's the cost of our lives! Bad bad design. You would think in this day and age products would be safer than older models. Why then is this one SO dangerous???

I’ve had the problem with knobs of the range turning on when you lean against them. I searched for a solution for last two years, even on this forum. I finally found it. There is a LOCKOUT function, located on the “LOWER clear/off” pad. Hold for 3 seconds and it locks ovens and burners! Press for 3 seconds and it unlocks. Very easy and it makes this range safe again. I hope the people who posted this problem before see this.

I was hesitant on purchasing another LG Range because 6 years ago I filed a lawsuit against them for advertising their specific electric range as a true convection with sabbath mode when in fact it was not. We won the lawsuit due to LG falsely advertising their product. This leads up to yesterday when I decided to give them a try again. Figuring they learned their lesson, I purchased their LRE3194BS. They (LG) claims on their website as well as on every website that sells this range (Best Buy is where I purchased) that it is in fact a True convection (3rd heating element behind the fan). After it was delivered yesterday I opened up the owner's manual and it stating it is NOT a true convection.
When I called LG customer service to find out exactly what was going on and to ask what the difference was with their "True Convection" & their new "Pro Bake Convection", the representatives could not tell me the difference. They then connected me to the corporate USA office in Alabama where a representative answered the phone. I explained not only my concern but also brought up the lawsuit 6 yrs prior and she stated this unit was NOT true convection. I asked about their webpage and the info they provide to retailers and she simply stated she has no idea who is responsible for putting correct and valid info online. I said this is just like years ago and you're falsely advertising your ranges again. She then Hung Up on me. Hopefully another attorney will pick up a new case against them.

I bought this LG Gas Slide In Stove Model LSG4511ST from Home Depot online on Feb 17, 2018. Within a few weeks of barely using it all five burners on the stainless steel stove top were corroding with rust. We just spent a ton of money remodeling our kitchen and were excited to get our first and new Slide in Gas Stove. Well the nightmare began. We contacted Home Depot and they referred us to LG. Home Depot wouldn’t speak to us. We paid $1300 for the stove. After many calls, chats and emails to LG customer service and their executive office they replaced the entire SS stove top and all five burners after SIX months of hell with them. They didn’t show up, excuses, no response to emails, no call backs - HORRIBLE company.
Then within a short time after they replaced parts it started corroding AGAIN around ALL FIVE burners. The calls, chats, emails to LG started again and this time they don’t respond at all. I tried Home Depot also and they will not take any responsibility. Nothing! I am sitting here with a defective ugly stove in the middle of our brand new kitchen. I am now forced to sue them. I filed a complain the US Bureau of Consumer Goods a month ago, was assigned a complaint number and “investigator” name and email and they don’t respond either. I have tons of documentation of this nightmare and photos. The icing on the cake is I wrote a review for the stove on www.homedepot.com and they “rejected” it. This built-in oven came with the house. It's beautiful. But, I don't think it's ever worked quite right. There are lots of things I like about it - the proof setting for proofing bread, roll-out rack, convection roast mode. However, it does not hold oven temperatures properly, preheats slowly, and the fan is noisy. It is now totally dead at less than 6 years old, and won't heat on any setting. We are waiting for a service callback, who knows how long it will be. I would not be surprised if parts are no longer available as this seems to be a problem with LG and Samsung. If we have to buy another oven it won't be an LG. I purchased the LG gas convection range in Aug 2016. It's been a learning curve getting used to the gas convection oven mode, I previously had a dual fuel range, using electric convection (worked great). One of the reasons for purchase was the angled and higher control knobs, which I thought would take care of turning the knobs on accidentally. My 12 year old Kenmore Elite range exploded inside while on self cleaning cycle (glad I was home & in the kitchen when it happened). I turned on the knobs accidentally on the Kenmore often, hated that. So got the LG.
Well I was still able to turn on the knobs by brushing against them, like others have stated. Definitely a design hazard. So I quickly went to Target and got the childproof knobs covers. I placed them on the 2 outside knobs on the right and left side burners. This left the middle knob uncovered on each side. The covers fit perfectly and NO MORE accidental turning on knobs. I can use all the controls without difficulty.
Now the Easy Clean is a joke. It worked two times initially, since then it does nothing except pool water in my oven. The program is 10 minutes per the manual and timer on the range. I now see it says 20 minutes on the website, Hmmmm. At any rate when the cycle is done, the oven isn't warm and the water is COLD. So I'm using the self clean mode, we'll see if it does better. I don't use my oven much. Otherwise, I am fairly happy so far, paid $1600 for the LG. I loved my Kenmore Elite and had no problems until the elements blew up inside & damaged the oven, out of warranty. I hope I get 12 years on this one, glad I purchased extended warranty for 5 years.

Updated on 02/06/2019: THIS IS AN UPDATE TO A PREVIOUS POST. We strongly do not recommend buying the LG gas oven/range model LSG4513ST due to quality issues. We also strongly do not recommend buying the LG gas oven/range from Lowe's due to poor repair service, and the lack of good faith to honor the purchased extended warranty. We purchased a LG oven/range, LG refrigerator, and Bosch dishwasher from Lowe's for our kitchen remodel, including a Lowe's 5 year extended warranty.
Our LG oven/range was installed April 2017, and we immediately observed that the control panel would signal the oven had achieved programmed temperature, but bake or broil items were undercooked. We observed the control panel would signal the temperature had been reached in about 5-10 minutes, but the oven interior took about 45 minutes to reach temperature. The LG service technician in October 2017 stated that the oven/range function was normal. In October 2018, the oven/range began turning itself off after being programmed for bake or broil.
Lowe's service has made five service calls during November and December 2018, without fixing the problem. Lowe's notified us that our extended warranty was invalid after four service calls. The extended warranty was confirmed valid after we threatened legal action. On January 28 2019, Lowe's Service phoned and indicated the oven was to be replaced. On Feb 1, 2019, Lowe's Service reversed their position and decided to schedule a repair appointment for Feb 7. We have not had a functioning oven for four months.

Unprofessional technical support. Unhelpful customer service. We purchased the LG electric range model LSE4613ST last October 2017. In May 2018 the two big front burners ceased operating well - now it takes twice longer time to heat up than it used to be, and while I'm cooking the burners don't keep the heat evenly. I called LG customer service and on May 29th, 2018 (I took a day off at my work), LG technician came to my house and just by holding his hand close to the working burner was able to tell me that there is no issue. Manual diagnostic? I explained to him that it was not like that for eight months that I used the range every day, and I wanted to show him during the cooking process what is wrong, but I didn't get the chance, for he left my house telling me that he knows better.
I called customer service and complained. To my surprise, I was told that I have a scheduled visit for June 6th, 2018, in order to replace some parts. Believe it or not, on that date, nobody came and moreover nobody contacted me to cancel the appointment. I spent my day off my work for nothing. I called LG customer service again, just to hear that they know nothing about the visit and that my file was transferred to the other department. Then I escalated the issue to the social media. A couple of weeks later I've got a call from LG to inform me that the next Friday I'm going to receive a call from the Executive department. No more details were supplied. Guess what? Nobody called.
I called LG back next week and I was told that Friday was a mistake, and I'm going to receive the call some day later. I'm still waiting. LG failed again. Now about very DANGEROUS issue - the knobs of the several models, including mine, are easily turned on just by bumping the knob. You won't even notice it. I bought a thermometer to check and help regulate the heat because if I set it to 350 it would heat up to 275 and if I set it to 425 it would either go to 375 or to 500. Sometimes one side of the oven would be hotter than the other. When it blew up I heard a very loud bang. The inside of the range is completely warped and the oven paint coating is blistering off. This is now also a health risk. I'm afraid to turn the oven on.
I called Lowe's and because it was within the first year the range was still under factory warranty they referred me to LG. And that's where the nightmares begin. It has been since July of 2018 that I have been attempting to get this range repaired. LG makes service appointments with providers who don't work in my area or are out of business. I had one provider tell me they don't repair LG products anymore.
I have talked to about 6 LG supervisors from in the US and about 25 LG customer service persons from the Philippines. I have been hung up on, I've been left on hold 56 minutes at times, one "supervisor" actually snapped at me. every time I talk to someone they promise to call back but never do. They give me repair order numbers, I have about 25 of them, and one supervisor went as far as to give me her email. Once I emailed her, the email was returned undelivered, when I called her back I was told no one with that name exists. I went back to Lowe's hoping for some assistance and they got the same runaround. I am now in the process of contacting the attorney General Consumer Reporting and have vowed to put up as may bad revues as possible. I've had LG phones with good luck, and I the look of this oven, but my previous two Whirlpool ovens performed better and were easier to clean up. The surface of this oven is for some reason hard to clean. Also, with hand washing using mild dish detergent, the print on the knobs is wearing off, and the stove is only a year and a half old. Because it's considered cosmetic, and over one year old, LG will not replace the knobs. I've never seen this happen, and at $45.00 per knob, am not pleased about having to replace them at 1 and 1/2 years. I won't be buying LG again and I won't be recommending.

The knobs on the oven are not safe and are a fire hazard. All you have to do is lean against them a tad and the eyes will turn on. If you have children or animals you do not want this oven in your house. DO Not leave any items on the stove top because the knobs are so sensitive you will start a fire. They need to recall and fix this issue before a fire from this stove/oven causes deaths.

Our electric glass top range/double oven stove is the worst ever! The knobs are SO sensitive and we have accidentally kicked them on numerous times by leaning against the stove when gathering in the kitchen and even by reaching up into the cabinet or microwave that is over the stove and hitting the knobs with our stomach or hips. Thank goodness we have always been home when this has happened and have been able to quickly address the melted cutting boards (2) and scissors that have been on the stove when accidentally turned on.
Also, we're very lucky that our dog knows better than to jump on the counters when we are not home or else I could see him turning on the stove and burning down our house with himself in it. I have called LG multiple times about this and each time I am assured someone will call me back but still no return call! To make matters worse, SafetyFirst brand makes knob covers to childproof these types of stoves, but LG's knobs are too large for the standard protectors. It's like LG aims to get a good laugh at people's houses burning down because of their faulty products! We really wish we got a Whirlpool!!!

We'd be walking by with laundry on the way past to the laundry room and whoops...somebody bumped the knob. Final straw, my son was cooking with his girlfriend making dinner for us all. I was quite happy with my LG electric (glass-top, stainless steel) range until, this weekend, the oven simply stopped working. That means no broiler, no oven, no self-cleaning. Based on my description to our authorized LG repair outfit in my city, I'm told it's going to cost $195 ($220 with taxes) + $120 for the repair ($138 with taxes). That's $358 total!! After spending well over $1000 only 3 years ago for this appliance, I'm infuriated.
I called another company in town that repairs LGs and they said that people are lucky if they last 5 years, and that most of the time, within 2 years there are issues. She actually said that their company recommends that people keep their old ranges as long as they can. I was flabbergasted. I can't afford a new range right now so I'm going to get this thing repaired, but believe me, I will never buy an LG product again. I just hope the LG dishwasher and fridge I bought will last a longer. No customer loyalty here, that's for sure.

The control knobs can be slightly bumped and the gas is turned on! This has happened several times in with our LG range. We have to reach above to get to our above the range LG microwave and bump the control knobs. Usually we notice the smell of gas pretty quick however one night my husband cleaned the kitchen and went to bed. I came home later that night, after a long day of work/travel, to find my house filled with gas! My husband and daughter were both upstairs asleep but THANK GOD they were okay. My husband likely bumped the knob when cleaning or reaching in the microwave. The control knobs are completely unsafe and are seriously life threatening! LG needs to recall these! Something needs to be done! PLEASE.

The stove and oven work fine. The major problem is the “Easy Clean” function is totally worthless. After only 4 months of use the oven has baked on stains that will not come off no matter how many times we us the Easy Clean. Some models have the old fashion cleaning function using high heat. The one we bought does not have that function. We are afraid to use aftermarket oven cleaners because we were told it would damage the blue enamel. Would not suggest this model to anyone. The model number is LRE 3061.

LG gas range, purchased July 2015, not sure of the model. Beautiful appliance (hence the 2 stars instead of 1), but some issues: The 2 front burners on the cook top (the ones I use most), don't always want to ignite (have to check visually to make sure). A few months ago, started noticing that the oven would preheat correctly but not hold its temperature, so couldn't rely on it. Started getting 'F9 Heat Error' while attempting to preheat, then the igniter failed entirely and had to be replaced. Cost me a few hundred bucks.
Tonight, about an hour after turning the oven off, we heard a *crash* in the kitchen. I ran out to find that the outer glass on the oven door had shattered into a million bits and there was broken glass all over the floor. No one in the kitchen and nothing in the oven. Hours later, I'm still hearing cracking and glass falling. This is dangerous. Thankfully it didn't happen while my dog was home alone. Not sure what to do at this point, whether it's worth the cost of another repair or if I can even trust it, should I decide to go that way. The range was pricey, and I'd hoped to get good and reliable use of it for a long time. Didn't expect to have problems within 3 years, certainly not 2 major problems within a month. Never bought LG before, probably won't again. Pretty disappointed, and wouldn't recommend to others, based on my experience.

As others have mentioned, we initially bought the model based on the positive reviews we found online. However we too have had multiple issues with the knobs being turned on and gas being on without the burners. The knobs are very, very sensitive and a tiny bump just brushing the knobs will turn it on. Our children are teenagers, but we even looked for baby proof covers because we are so nervous around this stove.
It has become a routine to check the knobs multiple times and we ourselves have found the gas on at almost every party we have had just because as others have said walking by and brushing the knob will turn the gas on. We have a party this weekend and are using packing tape to ensure that guests don't accidentally turn on the knobs when they brush against the stove. Honestly if I had another $2,000 to drop on a stove I'd replace it right away. For anyone looking, stay, far far away from this stove. It is only a matter of time before someone's home or self is injured by this stove. I am honestly surprised with the amount of comments that they have not yet recalled or provided a fix for this.

Sadly, I love the range, the oven (LSE4613ST slide in range), it is all beautiful... BUT it is an accident waiting to happen. It has been a little over a year since I purchased the range. About the same time last year I had friends staying in my place after their rental was sold out from under them. I stayed with a friend. One day I got a call from them telling me that they are not sure what happened, but one of the stove's burners turned on by itself. It was a mystery and hard to believe so we figured someone forgot to turn it off after using.
The next time it happened a towel caught on fire, and we were thinking a Poltergeist (I teased her). One day by total accident they discovered that all they had to do was brush against any one of the burner knobs and the element would go on. I called LG but wasn't able to get any assistance from them. All they said was it is not a known issue and apologized for not being able to help. I called Home Depot where I purchased it. The lady was very helpful and gave me the number to the LG guy that does repair work for Home Depot LG products. The technician stated that the knobs coming on with the slightest touch was a known issue and he would like to do an upgrade. The upgrade was at no charge. He replace the entire heat knob assembly that was suppose to make the knobs have to be pushed in a ways before you could turn it. I was ecstatic!
My friends finally found a home of their own and will be moving soon. My friend's Aunt was over there helping her pack dishware and was using the stove top to do it because there was no place to sit. My friend said she smelled smoke and ran over just in time to see the burner had just come on and was starting to burn the newspaper. My friend's Aunt does have a little bit of a tummy on her, so they figured she had pushed the knob in by accident. Obviously the upgrade did not fix it. I guess my friend and her husband had been scared to get too close to the stove, even after it was fixed, so that had prevented any more fires. Now I am going to have to get another stove or be reimbursed for this one. I doubt that will happen. But yes, I am surprised we haven't heard of someone getting really hurt by this stove.

LG has caused a SAFETY HAZARD and is doing NOTHING about it! Following is a timeline of the frustrating and DANGEROUS situation we have gone through with LG in their "customer service" process. March 18, 2018 - We smelled gas from coming from our 8-month-old LG gas range, which we purchased in June 2017 and is still under warranty. We contacted our local energy provider, CenterPoint Energy. A technician immediately came out. He found gas and carbon monoxide leaking from our gas range and flagged it for leaks.
March 23 - After spending hours on the phone with LG customer service, we were finally able to get an LG technician to our house, even though our gas range should have been IMMEDIATELY RETURNED as a FIRE HAZARD. When the LG tech showed up, his device did not even have a carbon monoxide detector on it! He declared there were no gas leaks, even though four people in the house smelled an odor so strong it was causing me headaches and making me dizzy.
April 10 - After more lengthy phone calls to LG customer service, we finally got a 2nd LG service technician to come out. Even though we still smelled gas and I still had headaches, this technician also claimed to have found no leaks. April 10 - We were forced to take matters into our own hands and hired an independent plumber to conduct a gas test. This plumber was able to come out immediately after the 2nd LG technician left our house. He found gas leaking from 3 burners and carbon monoxide leaking from the oven. We reached out to LG, and after hours of being transferred from one supervisor and department to another, my call was transferred to a voicemail of someone who had not updated their personal recording since January 2018.
April 12 - We decided to reach out to the store from whom we purchased the gas range to see if that would bring any results. Our sales rep is being very helpful and has reached out to someone pretty high up in the chain at LG, although we still have no resolution. April 26 - After countless phone calls back and forth to LG, including one clueless LG representative who called and said "This is about a refrigerator, right?" we are STILL nowhere. I've called LG dozens of times only to have my call dropped or transferred from one department to another. Not only is this the WORST customer service experience I've ever had; it has put me and my family in danger of carbon monoxide poisoning. There needs to be a lawsuit filed against LG; unfortunately I am not in a financial position to file one myself, especially after losing an expensive gas range with no replacement!

I recently purchased over 10k in appliances from Home Depot and the Studio line of LG ranges is an engineering nightmare. As others have expressed on their reviews, this range (LG Studio 6.3) presents a very risky and dangerous fire hazard. We did a complete remodel on a new beach house and used all studio LG products, we do not even as yet occupy the house and have never cooked on the stove, nonetheless, mere bumping of the knobs will cause them to turn on unbeknownst to the passerby... Our new 150k custom kitchen would have been set alight if my husband had not smelled the smoke from another room. This has already happened 3 times in the month the range has been installed with no one actually occupying the residence!
In disbelieve I did a google search and lo and behold this seems to be a common denominator for all LG range owners. I have contacted Home Depot and LG (Blah blah... We will send a tech. Lol.) however my brother who is a NASA engineer had a look and determined it is an engineering design flaw. It appears LG is closing this model out however if they had any credibility they will recall this immediately before there is serious injury or death... If there has not been already. December 15 - I took delivery the LG gas range, opened it as the delivery truck was leaving (they did not install it) and I noticed the interior glass was not seated properly and had a small crack. The delivery truck had just pulled away, so sending it back at that moment wasn't an obvious option. I immediately called Home Depot, who gave me the LG customer service number. In my first call to LG, they immediately offered me a compensation check to have a repairman fix it. I agreed to this. Then LG transferred me to their parts and repair dept. The person in parts and repair said it couldn't be repaired, because it was not installed yet, even though it is just the oven door. At this point LG customer service number was closed for the day.
December 16 - I called Home Depot service back first to get help. They personally called LG and had a ticket created in the LG system for replacement instead. They said in about three days I would get a call to schedule the new range delivery. December 21 - I hadn't heard from LG yet, so I called them. They said a manager there had cancelled my replacement ticket without calling me to let me know(!), because I had been issued a damages check, and I could no longer get a replacement. I explained that LG Parts and Service told me I could not have it repaired, because it wasn't installed. LG said they would send an independent technician out and they would decide whether it can be repaired without installation. December 26 - Technician is no call, no show.
December 27 - Technician comes out, tells me LG will probably just issue a replacement, he has to submit a claim. He will call me in about 3 hours with an answer. I don't know what this means for the damages check they were going to issue? December 29 - I start calling the repair company back for an answer. I talk to someone there 1-2 times a day thereafter, each time they say they don't have an answer, but will in a few hours. January 5 - I give up, the appliance repair service isn't calling me back. I call LG, say I don't think a claim was ever submitted on the oven door. The notes in the system at LG now seem to indicate I was in the process of a replacement, rather than repair? NOW, three weeks later, they say a replacement *can* be done (I am not confident I will receive the damages check anyhow). I am fed up, I tell them I want that damages check at this point, so they will have to find another company to repair it.
They transferred me to LG parts and service. I asked parts and service if they can simply send me a new oven door, and I will send the old door back? There are two metal clips that hold the door on, you just flip them up and slide it out, I believe it's designed this way so you can take the door off to clean it. They will not let me handle this. I am given the name and number for a new repair company, and told they will be in contact with me ASAP. The new repair company hasn't contacted me yet, and isn't answering their phone right now. Both repair companies have very low ratings online, complaints through the BBB as well - though with something this simple, I don't really care - as long as they can repair it quickly. That doesn't appear to be a possibility. The LG repair and service escalated my request, which was supposed to lead to a callback from an executive team within 48 hours. They never called back.
January 8 - The Twitter account for LG helps me in a direct message, which was more effective than any phone call I placed. They arranged an LG employee technician in my area to repair the oven door. The Twitter account person said it was requested the parts be pre-ordered, repair date is January 15. January 14 - I installed the oven in preparation for arrival of my new oven door parts. January 15 - The LG technician calls and says we have to reschedule because of a back injury. 1/19 was my new date he gave me... But then I asked if he pre-ordered parts. They were not pre-ordered. The technician checked stock in your system for the door glass. There is no stock available on the door glass, he doesn't know if there WILL be stock on the door glass in the near future, but he has put the order in now. He said to check back in two days for a status whether there will be glass.
I made a big mistake installing the oven beforehand. I followed up with the Twitter account person, who was helpful again, but said the system indicates he has not ordered the glass yet. January 17 - The second outside repair shop, which I never was able to get ahold of, showed up at my house while no one was home, called me and said they were there to fix the range! They said LG (India call center, parts and repair) set up the appointment date and time. No one from LG called me about there being an appointment scheduled. I told them I have a factory tech already scheduled, they didn't have parts to fix it anyways.
January 19 - When I check the online status, the technician still has me listed as a scheduled repair today. However, the status of the parts are still "back ordered" days later. How are there not parts available? 5 weeks as of today. Update: spoke to tech, parts are back ordered until at least the end of February. If the parts and service had told me this 5 weeks ago, the first time I spoke with them, I would've demanded a new oven. I assume I will be able to get a new oven, has not happened yet though.

Our LG range was emitting dangerous levels of carbon monoxide. After two weeks and first paying a $200 flat fee, an LG approved technician finally came and replaced some parts and fixed it. He said it likely a manufacturers defect but he can't say 100% which means that LG keeps their fee. In the meantime, I've written two letters to LG (where it says they will reply within 24 hours) and gotten no response, spoken with two customer service managers who show no concern for the fact their appliance put my family in danger, and spent way too much time on hold on the telephone and online chat with very little to show for it. Their lack of customer service is appalling.

Initially the LG double oven and 5 burner stove top looked amazing. It did just what we wanted it to do during the holidays. The super boiler burner is great. The double oven did everything we needed for the holiday dinners. The only problem is the burners turn on (Gas) with the least amount of pressure on the knobs. Other reviews have express the same danger and LG does not have a fix according to other reviews. I went to my local hardware store and bought springs that I cut to length and placed them behind the knobs to provide the need for more pressure to activate the ignition. It's a matter of time before clothing or other items get caught on fire. Especially with the Super Boiler burner.

In our case, it's a simple $30.- part for a range that I could install myself but after endless phone calls we got no help from LG. In July 2017 we bought an LG electric/convection double oven stove. Almost as soon as we installed the appliance our first incident with the stove happened. I barely brushed the stove knob and the burner turned on. My husband happened to have his hand on the burner and he felt the heat. That should have been our first warning. Jumped forward to December 27, 2017 @ 6:29 pm. Shortly after my husband had heated up his dinner in the microwave, which is above the stove, I smelled something like plastic burning. I said to my husband I bet you bumped a knob on the stove. He proceeded to the kitchen and when he opened up the door flames and smoke billowed into our living room. Between the two of us we contained the fire and help was on the way.
My review regarding this stove cannot be put in stars because they don’t have a negative value. As far as cooking on the stove we had no issues. I loved the double oven. But from our first experience shortly after installation to the night our house caught fire, the knobs were a concern. We have grandchildren who use the microwave... I shudder with the thoughts of what could have happened to them. There were no push then turn knobs, which is a common safety on most stoves, Or the knobs could have been on the back of the stove like some stoves. Now we are facing a total remodel on the kitchen, new cabinets, multiple appliances... etc.
Yes, we have insurance but that’s not the issue. This fire could have been prevented if the knobs had a safety feature. I feel for the individuals who have the gas stove. I understand their concern. Gas leak vs fire makes for a bad day. With as many reviews I have read regarding this particular problem, LG should have a recall on this model stoves. Look into rectifying the situation so this does not happen to someone else and turn their world upside down. So as far as LG products are concerned, I’m boycotting them. We even have several other household products but when the stop working, no more LG products in my house. LG needs to step up their quality control on the designs of their kitchen appliances. You should never live in fear of ACCIDENTALLY turning on an appliance.

I feel it important for consumers to know that this stove is dangerous. A simple walking by the knobs and brushing up against them will ignite or start to let gas flow without igniting. I have come home with my house filled with gas because the knobs were brushed by when leaving. A good service tech came to my home and said LG does not have a fix for this currently. A simple splash guard in front of the knobs would fix this. I don't want my family and house to be blown up because of the faulty knobs on the LG gas range. Beware. Now 1 month later the fan motor growls every time I use the oven. I called LG and asked if they would cover the repair simply because it is so very recently out of warranty. No. No chance. $125 to have a technician assess it and then whatever the parts and labor are to repair it. If the product is only designed to last 13 months perhaps it should be cheaper than $1100. I have used it approximately 300 times for about an hour max each time. So 300 hours of use should be all you should expect.

This last time, we were seconds from significant fire damage to our home. As many others have noted, because the LG stovetops can be turned on by the slightest touch, brush or bump, it is a huge safety hazard. LG needs to develop a fix for this dangerous problem before there is a major recall or lawsuit. There is a lock feature, but it's not possible to have it on at all times. Don't buy this oven - it's a dangerous design and a safety risk. My LG double oven came with the house I recently purchased. In the 9 weeks of living in my home, the stove has been accidentally turned on 5 times, with burners heating up without knowing it until a accident occurs. The most recent incidents were caused by my dog, almost catching a box on fire - when I got to the kitchen, the box was glowing orange. This morning, my dog was trying to eat the leftover chicken casserole I had in my large Pyrex dish on the stove. She accidentally turned on the burner and the large did completely shattered all over the kitchen - countertops, floor and stove had glass everywhere.
On the other occasion it was a simple case of just pushing the front buttons and the burner automatically turns on. My daughter and I had this happen. This range is very poorly designed and should be of a grave concern if you have small children. They are very easily able to access those front burner buttons. Today I am having a new GE double oven installed (at my cost of $1200), but the burner buttons are high on top of the control panel. For my own piece of mind and safety for my family, I felt this was needed. I can't comment on the product performance, but the design is definitely a risk. This design is not unique to LG, many other manufacturers have front buttons, but I can't comment on how easy they turn on.

While I am satisfied with the oven, the stove top is a problem. The unit is less than 2 years old. There are 3 issues. The burners on the stove present a safety issue. If you set a smaller pan on the front burners the pan easily tips and hot liquid spills onto you, the floor or any person (thinking children here!) that happens to be standing at the stove. See image. The 5 knobs for the stove top have all cracked. See image. The oven control panel is electronic. The covering has cracked and is now cracked almost all the way up. See image.
The range is normally used once or twice a day for a family of 2 which I consider less than normal range. I contacted the LG company and their reply was basically, "That's too bad since the 1 year warranty is over but you can pay to have it fixed" (paraphrased but you get the idea). No mention of the safety issue I reported. I should have contacted the company within the 1 year since these issues started within the first year but I didn't however, I have owned multiple ranges over the years (with much more usage when our family was 5 people) and those have easily lasted 5-10 years without issues. We recently went through 4 months of renovations. What a nightmare and the contractor is not coming back to do the final touchups. We had our kitchen completely gutted and when it came to appliances we purchased and LG range and fridge. Both are working just fine. It takes a bit of getting used to when going from appliances from the 70's and 80's to new. We have had no problems with the fridge but then we have only been using it for a couple of months.
The stove works fine. I thought getting a new stove would mean that I would wait a shorter time for a pot of water to boil but no. We are having a problem with the smell of gas every time we use the range. Whether it be the oven or burners, we smell gas. There is conflicting information on the internet as to whether this is normal. We shouldn't be able to smell gas in other rooms other than the kitchen but we do when we use the range.
The other issue which is major is the knobs for turning on the burners. This is a complete safety hazard and how this design passed any safety inspections before selling to the public is beyond me. I have singed my long hair twice, once reaching into a cupboard near the stove and another cleaning by the stove just because I barely leaned against the range. The knobs turn by barely brushing up against them and instantly the burner is on before you can get out of the way. If my children were still small I would not keep this stove. It is a accident just waiting to happen. I find this design terribly irresponsible for a company to have and this range should be recalled.
I also find the venting of the oven across the cook top not the best design also. When I use the oven and the burners at the same time too much heat is being created and at one time our range hood fan went off on its own and didn't shut off until the heat had dissipated. At the same time the oven vent causes the pots on the stove to heat up even more than from being on the burners and the handles can not be handled unless using a pot holder. It bakes well. We find we use the convection more because on bake food isn't crisping up as much as we would like. I guess that's the difference between electric heat and gas.
Companies need to stand by their products better. Our old fridge of 25 years is still going on strong and has been relegated to the car port as an overflow fridge. I am certain that these new appliances of today would never last that long. If the new LG fridge goes we might have to bring the old one back inside. Oh and our 2 year old Samsung T.V. just completely died. What quality!!!

In fact, it was placed in the oven 100 degrees below temp, lost heat in the process of opening the door, then was never cooked long enough. Baking cookies on a cookie sheet the cookies in back are overcooked, the cookies in the front (closest to the door) are undercooked. Cakes come out uneven due to cooking faster and drying out towards the rear. If the temperature set point is 350 degrees, the actual temperature is 280-300. After an additional 20 minutes it will be 390-400 and the oven controls still indicate 350 degrees. LG representatives say this is normal for a convection oven, and nothing is wrong with the unit. We will not buy another LG Range in the future.

We purchased our LG Electric Range November 2011. The oven was in need of cleaning, so I started the self-cleaning feature as I have done 2 or 3 times previously. The door locked and the cleaning began. When it was done, even after cooling off. The door is still locked shut and the whole control panel is blacked out, rendering the stove top useless as well. There is absolutely nothing working. We checked the breaker and all connections. Everything is in order.
So we called our local repair company and they told us that they have had multiple calls about this same issue. My husband called LG and spoke with a couple of people there including a manager. The first person told us that the self-cleaning feature should be used every couple of months to keep it working properly. We told her that it doesn't say that anywhere in the manual. Basically they said, "Sorry we can't help you." This is an engineering defect. And should be taken care of by LG. The lady from our repair company said that on some of the ranges, the cook top has cracked because of the heat. We are very disappointed in this company. And will never buy LG products again.

I have read several reviews in regards to this matter, and they are correct. LG needs to do correct this matter. Aware of the situation we are always very careful around the stove and there are times the knob gets brushed and the gas leaks...yes LEAKS. You are totally unaware that the gas is leaking until someone smells the gas a few minutes later. This is totally unacceptable, and if you have small children extremely hazardous and dangerous. We are looking into buying childproof caps that will possibly fit over knobs and see if that works, and are contacting LG.

I have walked into my kitchen numerous time and smelled gas and found the knob turned just enough to let the gas escape. I have turned the burner on just buy reaching up to the cupboard over the range. This is an extremely dangerous appliance! If you have young children beware!! This was the number one rated range on several different websites so I thought I'd found a winner. I've had nothing but problems since the day this was delivered and the worst part is that LG has the WORST customer service department I have ever had to deal with. A recent chat representative even wrote that she will go "one step a time for me" reading from the manual. I have a masters degree in nursing, I can read directions! The stove comes set up for natural gas and it took 2 technicians almost 2 hours to get this set up and installed. Cost me an additional $320 and yes, these were experienced technicians from a reputable company, but very little is known about this model.
First issue was that the ultraheat burner would not ignite and had a flare up issue when it did. I had to get "approval" from LG for a service call and again, even the company of their choice knew very little about this stove. He had to call LG for help from there who talked him through the repair. The upper oven was burning just about everything I tried to bake so I asked him to check that. The oven was set at 350 and his professional digital external thermometer was reading 425 degrees AFTER the preheat cycle and took forever to come anywhere near 350 degrees.
The instructions tell you how to adjust the oven temps, but the (+) does not appear on the digital display, as stated in the manual, so you have no idea if the adjustments your making are even effective! After burning lots and lots of food, I finally got the oven to semi work. I put a high quality thermometer in the oven and it was all over the place 300-425 degrees during the baking cycle.
Now let's talk about the lower oven. From day one there was a terrible odor which I was told was just from it being new. Again, it burned just about everything I put in so I started playing with the adjustment feature. It got to a point where some rolls were golden brown on top, but the bottoms were barely done, but at least they weren't burnt! Not to mention that this thing sounds like you have a jet engine running in your kitchen!
Now, here's the real kicker. This morning I opened the lower oven to move the rack and the entire inside was black, covered in soot (see photo of rag I used to wipe just the bottom). I tried to call LG but they refused to let me speak to the technical department to see if this was normal for a new oven or if I needed yet another service call. I was told "this department only speaks to other technicians". I called Lowe's and this piece of junk will be on its way back to the store later this week. Thank heaven I purchased it from Lowe's, at least someone stands behind the products they sell.

So I contacted them again and was told I had to pay someone to come look at the defective oven. Enamel peeling off the inside of an oven should never happen. This is defective not a problem with a part. I will also say that in the last 4 years I have purchased from LG a double oven, Very expensive refrigerator, microwave oven. Front loading washer & dryer and 2 Smart TV's. Their customer service is so unprofessional and never tried to help me. They have definitely lost this LG customer! Bought stove in October of 2016. Didn't have gas line installed until Dec, but noticed when we reached up to use microwave we were accidentally turning one or both burners on. Called J. C. Penney about problem but were told that no gas would be released until the knob was turned far enough to light the burner and we would hear the clicking and would have time to turn it off. When we had gas installed to stove we found that wasn't the case. Just a small bump would allow gas to release without warning. Very dangerous situation.
At 64 years old we should not have to worry about such a problem. Spoke to J. C. Penney about the problem and were told if we had bought their warranty they could look into it. We were told to contact LG but are put in hold for literally an hour or more until I get frustrated and hang up. Wanting to know what consumer protection agency we can contact about the dangers of this stove. Haven't used the oven enough to say if there are problems with that. Sounds like this should be a class action.

While our new LG free standing dual oven gas range cooked superbly, it is a clear danger and we convinced our retailer to accept return, even though they advised that LG would not. The control knobs turned inadvertently, allowing the gas line to open, without igniting. The technicians claimed it worked as designed. How could that be? On multiple occasions reaching for something in the cabinets above or the microwave caused the knobs the move, despite only grazing the knob. In a separate incident, our electrician placed a tarp on the range to prevent anything falling on the cook top and again, an inadvertent touching ignited the tarp. While nobody was hurt this time and no permanent property damage, we refused to accept this. We were very pleased with our retailer, PC Richard, when they agreed to the return. We recommend that nobody accept the risk.

I WON'T BUY A LG ELECTRIC RANGE AGAIN. The LG Range Oven model # LRE383ST01 we purchased in 2015 has been nothing but trouble. In the first year the burner and main board went out. Luckily we were still under the warranty so LG sent their technician to replace them. A few weeks after the warranty expired, the glass top made a pop noise and cracked like a spider web on the lower right burner and spread. We called LG, explained the situation and told them this seems a factory part defect. They politely blamed us of dropping something on the glass which was 100% false and they used "we are sorry" to gently fade their fault with this. We let it go - not to waste our time. Price of a new glass top is near $400.
Couple month after the new range top was installed the new glass top cracked again. It couldn't happen at a better time but Christmas Eve 2016, with having family over, around 4 pm while food cooking, the glass top made a loud pop noise and broke again on the lower right burner. Here was my experience with LG Range and dealing with the company who took the easy road to blame the customer for their defective part. Now I have an expensive LG range-oven with another broken glass top. My recommendation: Stay away from LG Range with glass top.

And these numbers are located in the most awkward location for a person to read!!!
I explained the preheat could not reach its goal, and she tried to explain to me how important preheating was to ensure best baking results! I told her my baking skills were not the issue, it was the oven could not heat up!!! She told me to ensure the date on the front panel was correct. I told her my panel did not include the date. She had the manufacture date wrong... I decided to call a local repair service, they arrived the same day, and the repair will be done before Christmas, at half the cost, done by a reasonable capable service person. In summary, whenever I need a new oven, it will be a Samsung.

Knobs on stove disintegrate & become nonfunctional & break. This is my 3rd replacement of knobs, & I will need a 4th replacement soon. The first 2 were covered by extended warranty. The knobs when bumped, can easily, cause gas to escape. The can happen with the lightest bump, & is generally unnoticed, by individual, until the strong gas smell is evident!
My communications over the years has been extremely frustrating, & unacceptable. I was told that "knobs are ornamental" by one employee. Another claimed it was my misuse because I left the oven door open. Once someone told me I would get replace the knobs free within a week. They never came! I finally bought new ones for about $275. The plastic overlay on what appears to be a metal knob is beginning to crackle. That means the cylinder that holds the knob on is soon to break. Three of the four LG appliances that we purchased at almost $6,000.00 for the set, have failed in some way since the delivery in July, 2016. The stove has caused two fires. The Microwave computer display has gone crazy and displays all manner of odd characters blinking or scrolling across the display. It doesn't microwave for the time set so we don't dare trust it to do 20 seconds when it could easily do 6 minutes or more. *See Photos.
The Refrigerator began failing a little over a month after we installed it. This is a known issue to LG, as I see many buyers of the LG in-door ice maker refrigerators complaining of the same problem. Leaking water and ice build up in the door jam, forming ice in the door jam and inside the refrigerator, making it impossible to open the left produce drawer as the ice blocks it, or to close the front doors completely as ice builds up. *See Photos. The Dishwasher never worked correctly. The detergent compartment won't open. Not with liquid detergent, not with powder detergent, not EMPTY. The heating element doesn't work as the dishes come out sopping wet, even when I choose "Extra Dry" as a cycle.
The Stove is an EXTREME fire danger. The knobs turn so easily and light the flame automatically on high that me reaching over the stove to grab something has turned a burner on more than once. When we were installing the microwave this happened and our shirt, the cardboard and plastic we had protecting the stove from dust, all caught FIRE. Also our cat walking across the knob, turned it on, burning our cats fur. I can not imagine what would happen with children in the home. We should have to push in the knob and turn it in order to light the flame as a safety precaution. Any slight bump or brush on the knobs turns the burners on high. We have to put tape on the knobs to keep them from being turned on accidentally. I see this is a known issue from the volumes of similar complaints from consumers who have bought the LG gas stove.
In my opinion, this should be a Class-Action Lawsuit. I sincerely hope it doesn't require the loss of life or 3rd degree burns in order for LG to recall these stoves and do the right thing. So here we spent nearly $6,000.00 on new appliances even though we are on a fixed Military Disability income. Now we have $6,000.00 worth of paperweights by LG. The Model numbers of our appliances are as follows: LG Dishwasher LDT9965BD, LG Microwave LMHM2237BD, LG Gas Stove LDG4315BD, LG Refrigerator LMXC23746D.
Uninstalling these appliances and replacing them with Non-LG, quality appliances that will work and not fail, are a significant difficulty for us with my husband disabled and only me to complete the work. It will require me having to hire and pay someone to uninstall the appliances, move them out to the garage and then install the new appliances.
We will never buy LG anything, again. I am waiting for a response from LG. Calls to LG are useless with either overseas Operators saying "I am sorry Ma'am for the inconvenience" over and over. Or worse, saying that my issues are all "Cosmetic" and therefore not covered under manufacturer warranty. Calls to the United States Offices of LG also put me on hold forever and then I get hung up on. I did email LG again today. Costco has been much more responsive and I have been working with them over the last 4 months to get a resolution. I have asked Costco to stop selling LG Appliances in their warehouse and online.

Like the other review, if you set your oven to bake at 350, and watch a professional thermometer inside the oven, you will see the oven climb to around 475 and stay there for a few minutes while the panel says the temp inside oven is only 345. If you then set the oven down to bake at 345 in hopes of still being able to cook something before your house burns down, the oven will inform you that it is actually only 340 degrees in the oven, and continue blazing away until it is satisfied. It will eventually beep to let you know it is ready.
At that point, ensuring there is no flammable material within 10 ft, you will need to open the door and leave it open for about a minute to let it cool down. Once the oven has cooled down, you are now ready to cook, and the oven works flawlessly. I agree that the gas knobs are easily turned on when you brush against it, but that's just the way it is and I can live with it. Gas burners work flawlessly and I love cooking on it. Just wish I knew how to turn off the incinerator preheat setting.

LG then gave us a "better" range at no additional charge with the understanding that we could make no further claims. We haven't, but the third range had the same problem. Additionally, the whole back of the range moves when you try to turn something on. Now there's a crack there caused by the mere force of turning on a burner. Those burners take a long time to do small kitchen tasks like boil water. I bought an electric kettle for that. The range takes a full 10 minutes to get to 420. LG Gas Range Knob Safety Issue - We recently purchased a 30" slide-in LG gas range and soon found out that it does not take much for the control knobs to be unintentionally rotated to the on position and start releasing gas without us noticing it. One has to lightly press each knob and the mechanical safety lock is immediately released which means the knob can be rotated unintentionally and Gas starts to be released. So far in the space of less than 3 weeks we have had at least three incidences when we did not know that the knobs were accidentally turned on (perhaps by people brushing by) and were only alerted by the smell of gas filling the kitchen. The Home Depot seems to have no return policy for major appliances but we shall be going back to our local store to see if they will make an exception and replace this range with another model. When I call LG, they gave me the run around then said, since I purchased it from Best Buy, I had to call them to complain about the knobs. Now for the math, 5 knobs, 3 broke. By the way, one of the knobs that did not break had a metal strip around it, to reinforce the plastic. Husband works in quality and said it would have cost them around $1.00 per knob to put that little piece of metal on each knob. LG stand behind your stuff! And build more durable knobs to start! It's sad to see such a terrible product and service from a company like LG. They make billions of $ by ripping off from the poor. Now I'm left without microwave and my $300. Never spend your money just by looking at its brand name. Knowing they have a name they use the cheapest product and plastic from China and charge the highest dollar amount. Terrible product. I'm a mad and angry person right now.

My husband and I purchased a range from Home Depot 2013 and I thought this was great and absolutely loved the stainless steel and blue inside oven. That was until problem after problem. Why purchase an extended warranty just to find out Home Depot does not have service people in the area to service their products. Why even sell the warranty if you can't fulfill the agreement. I am furious!!! Stuck with a range after a couple of years that burners will not work and oven temperature only reach 350 degrees. Then only to be offered a refund of half of what we paid!! Really!! I will never buy a LG product again!! I also question if I will make any major purchases as this from Home Depot again as well!!! LG consumers beware!!
