Wet sheetrock was cut out, doors were removed and all wet items were discarded appropriately. Great job overall.

HomeAdvisor as a service is great. I like the convenience of being matched with pros based on what I need done. I like that there are verifiable reviews for the pros that I can select from. I like the interface and user experience of HomeAdvisor with one caveat. That caveat comes in the pairing process. I wish I could see more options when I'm paired so I can make a choice based on review feedback. If this is already possible and I missed it then I would say the design of the pairing workflow should be reconsidered.

The shelves Jay built for my laundry room look great. They are sturdy & will hold the weight of any kitchen appliances I store on them. He was very eager to make sure I was satisfied with the finished product.

I was very happy using HomeAdvisor to get recommendations for projects that I needed done on my home and had used them several times. This last time I used them, it was different. Apparently they are now not only teaming up with local professionals that they have screened they are leveraging some kind of a relationship with Sears no doubt for their own profit and not for the benefit of their customers. I put in for a quote on a new roof and I received a list of professionals in my area that could possibly contact me.

Need for snow removal. A relatively small job for a landscape company. They were more than willing to offer an estimate which they did in an extremely timely fashion and their work was completed to our satisfaction as well as in a timely fashion - they followed through as promised.

I would highly recommend using this service. This is my go-to site when I am looking to get some home improvement work done. So far I have found and hired 2 high-quality customer contractors via this site and look forward to finding some more in the future when the need arises.

Replaced existing water heater. Arrived at scheduled time, installed new unit, and cleaned up afterward. Installation required replacing the vent pipe (gas unit) and that work was well done. We had an issue a week later and the contractor responded quickly on a weekend.

Used TakeAir to clean a/c duct with mold treatment, paid $850/each after all the discounts. I was unable to find average service charge for mold treatment over the internet. But based on overall duct cleaning charge range ($119 to $657) from HomeAdvisor website, I think $850 is too high.

It was worth it to me to have it done right with no damage to my house. Also, the awnings were too large to fit in a handyman's truck. I received a referral for Perfect Shine housekeeping who charged me nearly $500 to get my carpets cleaned and only 2 bathrooms. The workers spoke no English, could not take direction and each of the two women literally spent 2 hours each in each of the two small bathrooms, just running the water, I still ended up having to go back and clean the chrome and the walls. The job they did in the kitchen was pathetic and the best they did was to put new aluminum foil on the burners. At least the carpet guy did a good job. But I ended up having to hire an entirely different cleaning company to come in the next day just to get the job done the first crew didn't do! Horrible service, and no excuse. However, I had the opposite experience with the Heating and Cooling Repair service that came out, Very pleased with them.

Having a finders fee of $29 passed along to me for finding a contractor is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. The contractor should pay for this for finding a customer they normally would not have had instead of always passing it on down the line to the consumer. We already have to pay for the service call charge along with the time it takes to fix the issue unless it's included in the initial service call cost. It should be a per/hour rate of something in line with a whole lot less than some doctors make per hour especially if it turns out to be something simple. I don't mind paying for a person's time but COME ON!!!

Overall pretty good. The website is easy to use and they pester you with emails, but good overall design. On the other hand, only got three company references for the work I wanted, so that I'm sure could be better. One of them didn't even do the work I was asking a quote for. Another one is a horrible outfit I will never do business with again, so in the end only one company was of use which I ended up using and happy with. Seems very limited for the number of outfits that do house insulation work in an area the size of Seattle.

Sewer backed up into basement and they had to snake it out and clean up the raw sewage that came in when they took the sewer cap off the line. They cleaned the line and it took an additional 3-4 hours to clean out the raw sewage from my basement... which ran the price way up. I am currently trying to recoup part of this fee from Village as it was their sewer that was backed up.

Removed a hallway ceiling fixture and replaced with a new one I purchased from Home Depot; Replaced 2 ceiling fans - transferred one from the master bedroom to my living room that is a 15 foot ceiling with an approximate 5' down rod. Rewired the existing down rod from the living room fan so that the fan taken down from the master bedroom could be hung in place of the one that was removed. Hung a new ceiling fan in the master bedroom. Replaced all existing light bulbs with new light bulbs that I had so that I wouldn't have to deal with climbing up on a ladder to replace the bulbs in the high ceiling fan. Replaced the pull string with a longer string making it easy for me to change the fan speed without climbing up on a very high ladder.

The leads given by HomeAdvisor are fake. They track the calls, so that is how they keep up with when you respond to the lead. In two months, our company received seven leads, went out to only one, one lead the person would not meet us on site. The others never responded to multiple emails or voicemails. We lost over $300 to HomeAdvisor including the "discount" signup fee. They recommend you respond to the lead within 15 minutes for a better return rate; no matter what time of day or night it comes in. They are happy to take your money, but would not even refund a prorated fee. DO NOT SIGN UP WITH HOMEADVISOR AS ONE OF THEIR PROS.

Call made and estimate was made the same day. This was an emergency and the repair was made the same day. I did not think that I was being taken advantage of and I paid without getting another estimate because I liked the repairman. Thought he was honest and fair.

Fixed. Problem was a split Y fitting for watering outside. It had a pinhole leak spraying water on the outside garage on top of the main whereby the water dripping down from that fitting migrated down outside wall into the garage using the main pipe causing the puddle.
