I bought a new HVAC Goodman and had it installed in the last house I bought and renovated. Over 7 years, it has quit working in the summer for some reason or another. The vendor I purchased it from here in SC does not make fixing your unit a priority even in deadly Southern hot summers. Don't waste your money on this crap and I have a warranty which doesn't include labor or suffering and hardship.

Goodman AC units are absolute TRASH. 4 year old and needed a new compressor. The compressor replacement was going to cost me over 3K except the compressor has been on backorder for 8 months and no end in sight for the backorder to end. I obviously can't wait a year with NO AC unit so It calls for a total replacement of the unit. Garbage to say the least.

Absolutely the worst. The compressor went bad within the first year and the warranty only covers the compressor and not the labor, refrigerant or anything to flush the lines. On top of that the freight charge is $275.00. Never again.

Our HVAC company sold us a Goodman unit which was installed on May 8th, 2024. It worked for a few days and then, not so much. There was a leak of the refrigerant, the tech tried fixing a few times then it froze up, then they said it was a bad compressor and then a bad coil and then they were going to switch it out with a new unit. After waiting another week they decided to just replace the parts. After waiting another week they sent the wrong parts. It has been since 3 weeks with no AC. The distribution center has no sense of urgency or care. HORRIBLE Service!!

First, the labor warranty is non existent!!! Read that again. THERE IS NO LABOR WARRANTY ON GOODMAN A/C UNITS!!! MODEL GSXN404210, was the unit I bought and had installed. Since day 1 it has made an extremely loud bang when starting up. My unit is a week and half old. I called Goodman manufacturing and they will not budge on a warranty, even after just 1 week. Goodman selling heat pump system without a piston and charging the same price. Not communicating with customers about it. Customer service don’t have a clue. Had an attitude when I ask that question so when I ask to speak to someone in charge she hung the phone on me. Not professional. I will not buy any Goodman products. This is how they deal with contractors but wants us to my the Goodman products. Absolutely not. Not worth buying Goodman. We are the reason hvac equipment is being sold. Why treat us like this.

We built a new home and the builder (Heartland Homes) installed a Goodman HVAC. It is 4 years old and we've had Freon added 3 times and the coil replaced. Goodman will not assist other than to say that the parts are covered for 10 years. We've spent $700 on service and consumables and are not sure that the unit is actually repaired. Of course Heartland Homes is of no help as always. I would stay away from purchasing a Goodman unless your distributor or installer have an extended warranty on labor and consumables (which will probably cost you extra $).

Third unit over the years always the same story. Evaporator coil will leak because they are not built to last. Yes all mine failed within the warranty period. Of course you have to pay a fee for the free part and the labor which is astronomical. Go Trane, Carrier or Lennox. More upfront cost but you won’t have major failures in 4 or 5 years. This product GSX 14 is built cheap.

We purchased our air unit in 2019. Our air wasn’t cooling properly, so I called the company out that installed our unit. I was informed that it was a leak in the coil. Although the part was covered under the warranty, his labor was not. He charged $500 ($200 labor + $300 for Freon that he had to replace). Today, he brought the coil to install it. We were charged $600 ($500 for labor and $100 for more Freon). After Googling, it seems as if leaky coils are an ongoing problem with Goodman units. I do not feel as if it’s fair that we had to pay for labor and Freon because of a defective part. Goodman should be held responsible for their product!

Had new unit installed in summer of 2020. Jan 10, 2022 ac went out (Texas). We used our home warranty company and had 5 compressors over the next 10 months. Finally called the original installers to come back under the mfg warranty. They hardwired the unit so that the fan runs all of the time. We can't turn it off. Parts were ordered 11-29-23 and as of 8-4-2023 we still are waiting on parts. I feel like they are using all of the parts on people that don't have warranties and are paying for the parts. Never again will I use this company!

Hi. Ever since we start using this brand new AC and Furnace we had issues one after another. 2 years old unit is leaking Freon. Coil Freezes. Number of issues. With Furnace as well. Called several time the customer service. They just repeat that “we only cover parts.” Which would take long time and when you are faced with climate issues, you find yourself in not being able to wait that long for parts so you end up paying. Every year I have spent $700-$1000 btw the two units. I wonder if there is a lemon law on these.

What a mess is all I can say. A year and half ago my parents bought 2 brand new Goodman AC units to help cut down on their energy costs and replace 20 year old units. One of the units aka “the unit from hell” (3 different techs said this) died within months of install. A year and half later and over 1500$ in labor spent trying to get this unit to work I at that point I’m ready to rip it out and install another brand. After trying to call Goodman their response is “we don’t deal directly with the consumer”. Ok then I won’t directly buy another unit from you ever again!

Goodman HVAC unit was installed 3 years ago. Unit worked fine for 2 years. Then I was notified of a recall. After that work was performed, we stop getting heat. It took 6 repair visits to get it running reliably. Now that it's warmer, we have no a/c and are already on our third repair visit. Goodman broke the unit or maybe it was defective from the start but nobody knows how to fix it or cares. This is a bad company and the next call I make will be to my lawyer.

Bought two unit about three years ago. One unit failed in under a year. They tried to fix with a new compressor. This worked for about two weeks and failed again. Replaced unit under warranty after I complained and read the warranty statement to them. Been working good since. The other unit is now failing the same way as the first unit. Replaced the compressor, didn't fix it. It is getting worse as the days go by. Goodman sent two techs. Out to diagnosis the unit. The one tech. Keith ** was exceptionally RUDE. The other tech. was quiet and just followed the lead of Harris.

The Goodman Techs. arrived in a plain automobile and no identification and proceeded to climb onto my roof. My wife asked who they may be and Harris just said Diakin and went onto the roof. I went onto the roof and he never introduced himself to me the home owner. Harris was rude to everyone there including his coworker. Talked down to everyone there. Appeared he used this to make up for his inexperience. No social skills. Harris said he wanted several hours of work done on this unit which would have exceeded the cost of a new unit.

I already spent $1200.00 on this unit plus the compressor which Goodman supplied. Now we had six people looking at this unit at one time. AT WHAT COST. Contacted Goodman Manufacturing and they are little to no help. Don't seem to want to stand behind their products. When contacting the company the operator is/was rude and would not put me through to a supervision. Left me on the phone and wouldn't say anything. I asked, "You still there." She said, "I don't have anything to say." The Tech. who came here never turned in a diagnostic report to my tech/installer. If I have to replace this unit it will be with another brand. These two units were manufactured at the same time with the same problems. Bad run of units? Case #**.

As a dissatisfied customer, I would like to share my negative experience with the Goodman furnace. Unfortunately, the furnace broke down in just two years of usage, which is incredibly disappointing. Moreover, the technicians sent by Goodman to fix the furnace have been entirely useless in solving the issue that started in September 2022. Despite paying over $500 for their services, there has been no solution provided, leaving me and my family in the cold. Adding to my frustration, the Goodman customer service staff has been incredibly rude, unhelpful, and unwilling to listen to my concerns. I have asked for parts to be shipped, but they have refused to listen to my request, making me feel like they do not care about their customers' satisfaction.

As a result of this negative experience, I can confidently say that I will never buy any Goodman products again, and I cannot recommend anyone to use them. It is incredibly disappointing that a company that claims to provide high-quality products and services has failed to deliver on their promises, leaving customers like me to suffer the consequences. In conclusion, if you are looking for a reliable furnace brand, I strongly suggest that you look elsewhere, as my experience with Goodman has left me feeling disappointed, frustrated, and out of pocket.

Updated on 07/26/2024: Paid for 5 or 6 diagnostic from local hvc company never received any useful info from Foodman. Several boards were replaced after spending over $800 in diagnostics. Hired another hvac company. After 2 trips and diagnostics they determined it was a bad unit. The unit was replaced at a cost of $1330 for installation and transportation (now over $2100). The replacement failed in April while having service done - compressor would not turn on. Currently waiting for goodman to determine if system will be replaced. This will again cost $1500 for transportation and installation if they decide to replace it. Going on 2 weeks, luckily I have another unit to fall back on.

Original: Bought 2d Goodman system after a.c. failed, have a regular a.c. also goodman. The heat pump has not functioned properly since install. Very erratic operation. It is a waste of electricity even though was sold as an energy saver. Runs for 20 to 30 min and never gets above 75 output. This is with 70 room temp and 70 set on thermostat. Has had circuit board replaced and installer came in and rebuilt duct system. I am so frustrated especially after paying a premium price. Thinking about having it removed even if only 7 months old if I could find someone to give me half what I paid for it. It sucks.

We have 2 of their A/C units, one unit has had a problem before, and now has another problem with the coil. Unfortunately, I discovered that I didn't get the 10-year warranty because it wasn't registered within 60 days of installation while my house was still being built. I asked if they would help me out due to this issue with the late registration, but they declined. I was just hoping that they would understand and work with me but apparently, they won't make exceptions, so now I have to pay $1,600 for another coil. Disappointed that this large unit has broken down twice, so we will be having to pay every time it breaks down, Florida climate makes it necessary to have these units working in good order at all times. I think the unit shouldn't break down twice in five years, so beware and register within 60 days.

They are no help, after googling the problem and reading the manual. I found information about the problem and where you could order parts. Sometimes it's best to do your research and fix it yourself if you feel you can do it safely. I will NEVER buy another @Goodman_Mfg (Good Air Conditioning & Heating) unit! If you're considering such a transaction -- just don't! My unit has six years left on the warranty, and although Goodman has coils to manufacture and sell new units EXACTLY like mine (I can buy one today and have it installed for $3,000 and change), for some reason--Goodman cannot find a replacement coil for my warrantied A/C unit that is four years old.

Goodman has a really good game -- headquarters in TX refuses to speak with the homeowner/end user. All communication has to take place between the Distribution Center (WPB) and the a/c tech. If you call their homeowner support line--the ONLY support they offer is to assist you in registering your warranty. Nothing else. Nada. I cannot get ANY information out of them as to WHEN I will either receive a replacement coil or approval for a replacement unit.

My A/C person has followed up on this diligently and has not been able to get much out of them other than--Goodman MIGHT have a replacement coil for my unit SOMETIME NEXT WEEK (hurricane is forecasted to hit here in Florida then). Here's the fun part--in addition to asthma, I have Covid (tested + on Tuesday night, 09/20/22). The temp inside my house is 89'/90', and the humidity is so high it feels like a gd swamp. I feel like I'm trying to breathe underwater. Thanks to Covid, checking into a hotel or staying with friends is not an option. Checking into the hospital may be my next alternative.

Goodman's product, their 10 yr. warranty, and their non-existent homeowner support is not worth a warm bucket of spit. Welcome to capitalism! BTW, #Satoru Akama (CEO) and #daikinairconditioning I rate your company a -10.
