My 2003 expensive Frigidaire stove exploded 07/26/12. On setting the stove to preheat, there was a late gas ignition, causing an explosion great enough to move the unit, blow open the door, and send 4lb stove top grates flying two feet up and several feet over. Thankfully there were no injuries, but had the stove released more gas prior to ignition, had the oven door been locked (clean mode), or had my daughter been standing in front of the stove, it would have been catastrophic. I have pictures, I have the unit in storage, I provided info to Frigidaire (nothing they will do), and I've opened a complaint with CPSC.

I bought a Frigidaire gas range (basic). It looks nice but the burner grates are very, very dangerous. When you go to move the pot, if you don't pick it up, they will slide very easy and burn you very bad. Whoever tests the stove does not know what they are doing. I hate it and would never recommend this stove. Some day someone will burn or start a fire and it will take a lawsuit to get the company to stop making it or improve the burner grates so they don't slide. Do not buy this stove.

I have a gas Frigidaire Range. I went to ignite the burner, had the pan on the stove and thought I heard it ignite. I left the kitchen, when my 12 year old son said he smelled gas. (I also had another burner going.) I looked and the burner didn't ignite. The off position is past the high position on the knob. So you have to turn the gas up to turn it off. Luckily, nothing came of it. I am getting rid of it, and will find something safer. Hope if someone has a fire from one of these; Frigidaire is held criminally liable for it. If the ceramic tops, which just sit on the burner, are bumped, the burner won't light.

I have had my Frigidaire gas oven (model # FPGF3081kF). It is almost one-year-old. Last Monday night, it was on convection bake and would not turn off. There is no obvious reset button, so we had to pull the stove away from the wall and turn the gas off. I called the repair service and it is covered, but my biggest concern is that the oven is barely a year old. I emailed customer support through Frigidaire's website and the only response that I got was to get it fixed and purchase the extended service agreement. I think there is a design flaw in this model that causes heat to rise from the oven and damage the computer control panel. What horrible customer service! I have 2 small children and am concerned that this will be an issue that will happen again and we will have a more serious problem.

The Frigidaire stove is very dangerous. It shuts close when opened halfway out with incredible amount of speed and force. The door shut and cut part of my fingers. It was so extremely painful. This is definitely a flaw in the manufacturing and this stove ought to be recalled as it is not safe to consumers. I'm just glad it was me that was injured and not a child.

I bought an oven from Lowe's, which is a Frigidaire. I hooked up the gas, and proceeded to try and bake dinner for my family. After about 5 minutes, I started to notice the smell of gas. I hurried to the oven and shut it off. I had to evacuate myself, my wife and my three kids out of the house, due to the amount of gas in the house.
Upon return, I was able to determine that the oven had been wired incorrectly, and gas was coming from the broiler, not the baking component. I called Lowe's to get another over delivered, only to have the same problem. I ended up going to Lowe's to get a good oven (wired correctly) having to settle for the floor model. I called Frigidaire to report the problem, only to be told that it was not their problem, to send it to Lowe's. They would not even send a repairman to look at the problem.
I asked for them to look at the possibility of this requiring a recall, and they told me that this was only 2 out of how many ovens, again not their problem. The lady then hung up on me and ended the call. If the element that was heated would have ignited the gas, it would have certainly blown up my house, potentially putting my whole family in danger. Frigidaire said it didn't happen, so basically to get over it.

This is for my in-laws who are elderly. I have pictures they took showing the door on their newer stove. They wrote to Frigidaire: “I have talked to your customer service rep. and supervisor and have been given the same answer that Frigidaire does not cover the following complaint under Frigidaire's warranty. The small oven door (this stove has a double oven) allows particles and liquids to leak into the glass viewing area and over time will make it impossible to view the oven content as well as becoming unsightly.”
“It appears to me that this is not rocket science and that Frigidaire would have come up with a design and manufacturing process of an oven door that does not have this flaw even though heat has to be vented through the door.”
Frigidaire's reply: “Thank you for contacting Frigidaire. I apologize for the issue you're having with your oven door. The problem that you described is considered cosmetic because it only affects the appearance of the unit. You would be responsible for the cost of the service company cleaning the door.”“Below are instructions on how to take your oven door apart to remove any stains that may be caught down in the door vents. (Tools needed: good Phillips head screwdriver or small quad bit driver).” “To expect a customer of any age to deal with a design flaw this significant is unreal.”

We purchased a Frigidaire glass top stove at Bad Boy in Barrie Nov. 2007, Model #PFEF374ES3, Serial #NF73720364. We use the oven part very little (maybe 30hrs on it since new). Last year, the outlet on top blew. It blackened the enamel on top, so I purchased a new outlet (not yet installed).
We have never used a glass top before so we thought that the front left element coming on and off was supposed to happen. It would cycle like this most of the time so you could never boil a pot of water and at other times it would go to MAX and burnt and warped our expensive pot set. So I purchased a new control for the burner (not yet installed).
Now, my oven will not work most of the time. You have to be patient with it and keep pushing the oven switch for it to finally come on. When it does, the timer still will not work so you have to use an external timer and when you are finished with the oven, most of the time it will not shut off. You have to turn off the main breaker at the panel. This is a fire and safety hazard. They tell me it is a controller that has gone and it will cost over $300 for the part and a service call of who knows how much.
I have contacted Bad Boy and Frigidaire and they both told me that there is nothing they can do. I think that Frigidaire should fix or replace my stove free of charge. This type of service would never have happened 20 years ago.

I chose to purchase a Frigidaire gas range because I purchased a side-by-side refrigerator years before and didn't have any trouble. So in November of 2008 I purchased a 36" gas range from a local retailer, whom I have dealt with in the past. At the end of October or beginning of November 2011 (yes, 3 years later), I started experiencing problems. The problem was every time I used the bake feature the unit would smoke so bad that I had to open all windows and doors so the smoke alarms would not go off. After Thanksgiving 2011 I called Frigidaire to find someone local to at least look at the unit to let me know what was going on. Someone finally got back with me two weeks before Christmas and wouldn't touch it because he feared it was a manufacturer problem.
I got in touch with another servicer; they stopped by took a look and ordered a part (valve) which is going to cost me more than $300.00 just for the part. December 29, 2011 someone finally called me back to come and install. When they did, they installed it wrong. The unit is only three years old and a valve should not be broken, or bad or defective just after three years of use. I had no idea that the valve was installed wrong until the next morning I woke up to the smell of gas. I had no idea that there was a leak because before the tech arrived I had a candle burning in the kitchen and continued to burn it well into the night.
So on New Year's Eve, I had the fire company, gas company, ambulance, etc. at my home to fix this problem and make sure that it was safe enough to stay in. It is now two days later and still not feeling up to par. But that will be dealt with. I am not rating this experience because I don't believe in their products anymore and will not buy this brand in the future. I will seek legal action against the servicer and the manufacturer for my expenses incurred including medical. I will not recommend this product or line of products to anyone. Three years old and I have to replace a valve on a $2500.00 appliance. Never again.

We purchased a Frigidaire Gas Range Model No. LGGF3043KFK, in November 2010. In January 2011, I used the self-cleaning feature. I tried to use the oven to bake and it would not work. I called Lowe's Home Center where we purchased the range and they gave me the number for Frigidaire Customer Service. I called, a repairman came out and ordered a new control panel. The range was two months old. It took over a week to get the range back in service. I again used the self-cleaning feature on November 25, 2011 and the control panel is out again.
I called Frigidaire and they are closed until Monday, due to the Thanksgiving holidays. This is the worst service from a range that I have ever had. My previous range was an electric Roper, with a self-cleaning feature, that I used for 15 years without any problems. It was still working when I gave it away. Now I wish I had it back. At least it worked and it cost me a lot less than the Frigidaire Gas Model. I will never again buy a Frigidaire appliance.

I have had my range a little over a year and the touch panel has gone out. We must turn off the breaker in the breaker box in order for the oven to turn off. This was an expensive range and we are so frustrated that we are having to call for repair. My father was a Kenmore repairman for 35 years and appliances were made to last 20-25 years. Now, you are lucky if they last a year. We had concerns early on because the knobs get hot when cooking, but I didn't have small children so we have overlooked it. Three years ago, we purchased all Frigidaire appliances for a spec home we built. The side-by-side refrigerator was delivered only to have no freon, so it had to be replaced but not without a fight. 12 months later, the condenser unit went out. Junk. That is all I can say. Never buy Frigidaire.

I bought a stove in 2006, and there was a recall on this stove. They came and fixed it in 2010, and I had problems in spring of 2011. The stove seems to never turn off, like if I put it on low or medium and try to turn it off, it will go to high. So sometimes, if you're not paying attention, it will go to high, and then we have a problem. They sent out a technician, and he said there was nothing wrong and he can't help me. I called back Frigidaire (Electrolux) and the manager said there was nothing he can do, and I told him, "I guarantee you that I'll be calling you back with worse news."

The hinges on my gas oven model FGB24T3ECD are faulty. They have been replaced at my expense numerous times. When the oven heats up, the hinges will not function, becoming tight with the bearings wearing out, and then bending the hinge and even ripping the bolts out of the unit. When Frigidaire is contacted, they want to only give you a service technician's number as though you cannot look that up in the yellow pages yourself. They also deny that there are any other issues with any of their oven door hinges when a simple internet search will show many complaints.
Today, a woman at Frigidaire told my husband that she was, at that moment, preforming a search on the internet and could find nothing at all, basically calling us liars. After I confronted them with this, they now have given me another generated response, saying that I did not have an extended warranty and that they could not help me further. They simply refuse to take any responsibility for their faulty product. Do not buy Frigidaire!

I bought a Frigidaire smooth top stove from Lowe's. Frigidaire stove burners were always random. Set it to simmer, and food would boil dry. Put it on the highest temperature, and it might boil or might be like bath water. The oven is very uneven. Its botttom would be almost burned and top anemic with rack on top level. I had to turn pans around. I tried the quick bake option with fan but it is still uneven. Last week (one year and two weeks in), I was using the oven and it would not turn off. Finally, I pulled the oven out from wall and plug it out.

We purchased a Frigidaire/Electrolux stove from Sears a little over a year ago. The other day, we went to turn it on and the display, where the controls and clock are, completely fell out into the stove. Now, we are unable to cook anything and because the warranty was up 21 days ago, we have to pay for a new part. We called the Sears parts center and ordered the new part. They shipped the part 4 days later and when we received it, the wrong part was in the box. We called back to see what they could do about it as we have company coming over this weekend. The customer service representative on the phone said that she could ship us the correct part today but that we would have to pay for the part again, pay to ship the old part back, and wait for a credit on the first, incorrect part. We advised her that we did not have the money to pay for the part again and she said that there was nothing she could do.
We asked to speak with a manager and Van picked up. He also said that there was nothing they could do and that we basically just had to deal with it and pay for the replacement part again. I find this completely unacceptable as the error was on their part. We offered to return the part to a local Sears store and they could confirm the part was received and then the new part would be shipped out. They were not willing to try anything to make things better with us. I don't know what else to do. Now, we have to send the incorrect part back, wait for a credit to our account, and then re-order the part, which will most likely take up to 2 weeks.

We purchased a brand new Frigidaire Range last year. After using the stove to cook our meal, I then started on the veggies on the top of the stove. I went to turn on the stove top and the stove knobs were so hot it burnt the tips of my fingers. What would happen if a little child touched the knobs? They need to recall the knobs and make knobs that will not get hot when the oven gets hot.

One star is now low enough to rate my experience. Like many other people on this site, I bought a 24 inch Frigidaire Gas Wall Oven in 2008. Within a month, the door fell off its hinges. Sears repaired it. We bought the extended warranty.
Now, in 2011, the door fell off again. Sears refuses to repair it stating that I used unnecessary force. There was no unnecessary force.
I have found over 20 people with reviews and complaints on the internet who have had the same experience. One lady was a senior citizen widow. I doubt she could use unnecessary force if she wanted to.
Frigidaire should not be allowed to continue selling this item. Sears should not be allowed to shirk their responsibility. I wish I could contact the 20 people I have so far found, but I cannot access their email addresses.
Is there any way my contact info can be given to the other people on this site who have had the same problem as me? I wonder if a class action lawsuit is in order. My model is the FGB24T3ESD Frigidaire Double Gas Wall Oven 24.
If anyone reading this wants to contact me, I invite you to find me on Facebook under the name of "Frigidaire Wall Oven Doorfallsoff." Find me so we can communicate.

A one-year warranty and I have a stove, but no oven on a model that cost $500 plus from look ups on the Internet. Frigidaire will not pick up the costs of the repair, troubleshooting, or part(s). I'll never purchase a Frigidaire product again if a major appliance lifespan is 4-5 years.

I purchased the Gallery Series Gas range model #GLGF388DSF in April 2007. In July of 2008, I started to notice that the overlay on the control panel had hairline cracks on both bottom corners. I emailed Frigidaire customer service, provided pics as well, and questioned if this was due to "faulty materials" used and asked that they make good on this. They responded by telling me the warranty is over and they couldn't do anything for me. However, I could purchase a service plan through them once I've had the overlay repaired.
I went back to the appliance store where I purchased the product and asked the service tech if the overlay, which is just a simple square of plastic, could be replaced. Initially, he said yes. They, two weeks later, came back to me and said no, the overlay can't be replaced. I would have to purchase the entire backsplash for the range. May I just add the the overlay is shown as a separate part costing $10 and change. The entire backsplash according to the service tech would be over $200, that doesn't include labor. So here I am at square one again. I'm going to try again to see if Frigidaire will help me out with this. I'm now just asking if the overlay itself can be replaced. At this point, I'll gladly pay for the part. I'm also asking them if it is something I can do myself without calling a service tech.
Based on everything else I've read regarding "Frigidaire" appliances in general, I can tell you that I will not purchase another appliance with the Frigidaire name on it or associated with Electrolux. Thank goodness for the internet, we now can go online and read about product reliability and customer service experiences before we make the purchase. My heart goes out to all of you who certainly have much bigger issues with this brand.

I purchased a Drop-In Frigidaire Electric Range model no. FED300ESE on May 1, 2010 from a local independent appliance store I consider to be very reputable. Within a couple of weeks of installation, the outer oven glass dropped down into the door. I called the appliance store, who contacted their repairman to come out and look at it. The repairman made a quick fix with something that looked like foam tape, which he said was what was originally holding the glass in place to begin with. The first time the oven was fired up, the glass dropped down into the door again. Without going into the the long grizzly details of each repair visit, the appliance company has had both of their recommended repair companies out several times with several different kinds of fixes, all recommended by the Frigidaire company to them, one included replacing the entire outside of the door. Each time, the glass fell down into the door with the first or second use of the oven.
The day before Thanksgiving, the "boss" repairman came out and took the entire door apart. He allowed me to look at the internal contents and even my untrained eye could clearly see that the door and glass had major design flaws (the repairman said the same thing). The repairman made one last attempt to secure the glass, which we both agreed would probably not solve the problem. He stood in my kitchen and called Frigidaire to complain and get some kind of action on this oven. The man he spoke with had an Indian accent and was hard to understand, but told the repairman that he would ship him an entire new door. The next day, I was preheating the oven for the turkey and the glass couldn't even stay in place long enough for the oven to preheat. So now it is late January and we have been told the new door is stuck in customs. Even if the door gets to us, I don't hold much confidence in it unless the company has re-engineered the internal design.
I have owned the oven for 9 months and have yet to have the glass stay in place while it was being used more than once. I am planning to buy appliances in the near future but the Frigidaire name brand won't even be in the picture. I might have considered them if they jumped in and solved the problem or offered me a new replacement after all of this time. I am just looking for someone to stand behind what they manufacture. Every name brand will have a lemon or two, sneak through to the sales floor. Just make it right with me in a reasonable time and quit offering lame repair suggestions. Good customer service keeps customers, even those who have had a problem.

In February 2010, I purchased a Frigidaire stainless steel gas range model FGF364KCB from Best Buy. I purchased this particular model for two reasons: One, it had the look I was looking for. Two, the surface of the range was mounted to the stove top to prevent spills from entering into the range. Boy was I ever fooled! Always remember that looks can be very deceiving or should I say, if looks could kill. On 12/18/10 around 2:00 in the afternoon, my fiance was frying some French Fries when he noticed smoke coming from the stove top. He called me in from the living room and said the oven was smoking. I ran in there and smoke indeed was pouring out the stove. We kept trying to leave the surface and fail. Finally, it dawned on us that we need to unscrew the surface.
He unplugged the stove and turned off the gas. We didn't have any tools at home, so I drove to my mother's house which thank God was only 5 minutes away, praying when I get back, my fiance and house wasn't on fire. When I got back, he had to use a screwdriver and a ratchet set to unscrew everything and finally, we were able to leave the surface top up. When we opened it up, we couldn't believe what we saw. There was insulation (foaming) directly underneath the surface which was causing the stove to smoke.
He poured water onto the padding to put the burning out. The smoke was so strong, we were crying, coughing. It was just unbelievable! How could they sell a stove with padding directly underneath the igniters with no barriers or anything between the two? We called Frigidaire to express our feelings about this matter letting them know this was a fire hazard and Nicole, the representative, seemed to be emphatic but made a comment to us and said there is always two sides to a story. I couldn't believe she said that after all we went through with the stove.
So a week later, we decided to try the stove and not the burners so at least we could have one home cooked meal and the unthinkable happened again. This time, the stove smoked more and now the smell was unbearable. Luckily, we still had the tools and we were able to open it again and this time, the burn was much bigger. My fiance was able to pour water on it to put it out. The smell was so bad this time we had to open every window and door in the house. Our eyes were burning, our noses were running uncontrolled. We were coughing and feeling faint but we had to put the burn out again. We both felt so sick that we laid down in front of a window to get fresh air and the temperature was like 15 degrees, but we didn't even care.
We wanted to call the fire department but were afraid they would chop the stove up which as this point, I guess it wouldn't matter. Here it is four days later and the house still smells bad, we can't use the stove and the repair people are supposed to come out on Jan. 5th. Please don't buy this stove, you will not be happy and we are lucky to talk about it, but we could have died from smoke ventilation and probably carbon monoxide poisoning. Research your products and be safe.

Yet I find it has a small chip on the cooktop. This is very poor quality control on the part of Frigidaire and a product defect at the very least.

We purchased a Frigidaire stove and dishwasher in 2005 and their over the range microwave in 2007. Within 1 1/2 years, our right front burner quit working. About 2 years ago, we had problems with the top sprayer falling off in the dishwasher, which we had to replace. Shortly after that, the springs in the doors broke so the door now will fall all the way down if you don't grab it. Now, it makes loud grinding noises when it's in use and sounds like it's going to die anytime.
I contacted Electrolux regarding the problems and basically it's not their problem, in so many words. Last night, Oct 26, 2010, our microwave blew up. I was heating up some ground beef for 1 minute and soon as I pressed the start button, it made a loud popping noise and sparks flew out from the exhaust fan area. Now, we need to buy new appliances, as I'm not wasting money to get them repaired just to have something else go wrong with them.

Fortunately, I didn't buy this appliance. It's in the apartment that my wife and I have occupied for five months. I'm making this entry to alert others before they spend their hard-earned money on a product such as this. The range is a recent model and doesn't appear to be more than 3 or 4 years old. I have no complaints about the range part, as the gas burners seem to function well enough, with quick ignition when igniting the burners. My complaint is with an obviously poor oven design, which causes extensive charring to the items baking in the oven, particularly cookies, as these are typically placed in evenly across the oven, not just in the center, as would, for example a small pizza.
We lost almost half the cookies in every batch we made. Those which were positioned in the center of the oven were okay but the ones to the left and the right of the center of the oven were badly charred. I opened the oven door to take a look and the bottom of the oven has a long opening which extends from the front of the oven to the back, one on each side of the oven, thus making two openings. Each of these openings is about an inch wide. When the oven is on, one can easily see the flame from the burner which heats the oven from the broiler section below the oven bottom. So the heat from the burner comes up through those "vents" and burns anything which is placed above them in the oven.
The cookie sheets were not placed too close to the bottom either. We had two shelves, one placed in the upper half of the oven, the other at the oven center, or just below. After I put some aluminum sheets on the bottom of the oven to cover both of these "vents," the problem seems to be solved, as the heated air can't come up from the broiler as it does when the "vents" are not blocked off. Caveat emptor!

Our CO detector was faulty, and had I not called the gas company, we would have died. Nicor gas company tagged our oven/range as defective and too dangerous to use and turned the gas off to the unit. We don't have a stove/range now and have been eating out for 3 weeks. We can't get hold of anyone to figure out what to do with this defective range. Sears has been of no help. I went online to contact Frigidaire. They e-mailed me, saying there was no way to call a live person to talk to about this situation.

I bought a gas oven from Lowe's. It's a dangerous piece of crap. In order to get the oven lit, you have to turn it up to 500 degrees and slam the oven door several times to get the gas to ignite. From the complaints I have read, it's not worth contacting Electrolux who is not backing any products named Frigidaire.

We purchased a Frigidaire gas range (model # BGGF3042KFE) in March 2010. It wasn’t long until I noticed how easy it was for the front knobs to be bumped and gas would leak. It wasn’t bumped enough to light the burner, but enough to have the gas leak. Once it happened when I reached over the stove to the microwave, and once I was stirring something on the back burner. Both times I just bumped it with my stomach.
But the final time, my husband bumped it before leaving for work. The gas leaked for over 9 hours. When I arrived home the kitchen was full of gas. It was very scary. We called Frigidaire and told them of the problem, hoping there was something aftermarket that could be done to correct the problem. They were sympatric, but we asked them to call us back and they never did. This stove is poorly designed and very dangerous. My husband and I live here alone. I can’t imagine having a house with little kids in it. I would not recommend this type of stove to anyone. I returned the gas stove and now own an electric stove.

I bought a new, bare basics style Frigidaire gas range just before Christmas, 2009. For the most part, I'm pleased with it. It does everything I need it to. And it even does something I don't need it to do: cause fires! The trivets (burner grates) slide out of place way too easily and are constantly catching my potholders on fire, even when I'm using my lighter weight pans. I use a lot of heavy cast iron or aluminum cookware and the easy slippage of the trivets combined with the weight of those pans guarantee a fire if you're not on guard!
I spent 20 years in food service. I spent 10 years in Girl Scout with campouts and cooking lessons. I've been cooking and baking fifty years at home. With all that experience, I've had more fires in my kitchen since Christmas than all the time prior! One of my greatest joys was teaching my two grandkids cooking, not on this stove! It's too dangerous!
Shame on them for selling such a shoddy product! I went with Frigidaire because of its history of being high quality. If the product wants to stay, it'd better shape up and get back to quality and safety.

Frigidaire stove model #FGFL77ASD was bought for about $600 in 2004. Gas stove is very dangerous and a piece of junk. The thing won't light. When it does light and heat up, a small "boom" occurs. It's very scary, plus I can smell insulation or wiring burning up. It's a useless piece and Frigidaire is not backing it whatsoever. Useless money spent on a useless dangerous item.

I bought this Frigidaire free standing gas stove model # glgf389gb 3/11/09. After having electric for 30 yrs, I didn't realize everytime I was turning on the oven I would get a massive headache. I called the gas company nstar and they disconnected it saying the stove is unsafe and has a very high co reading. I have a repair person coming out on 3/22/2010. The women I spoke to told me I would have to pay 85.00 for a service call but they didn't even deliver the stove until 3/27/2009. The stove cost me 1,092.57. Does this company make any good gas ranges? After reading numerous complaints, I wonder how they get away with this **?

Our Frigidaire gas stove model FGFL87DCE started to have a funny smell when you start the oven. On 3/10 we used the oven for about 4 hours, between 380 and 400 degrees. The next morning, 3 people had severe headaches and one person fainted. We suspected carbon monoxide poisoning. We had the gas company come and check all the appliances in the house. The reading for the oven was 227 ppm.
We talked to Frigidaire today and they initially offered us a maximum rebate on a new stove of 20%. The stove is not that old and we expected it to last 15 years and we don't really want to buy a new stove. Frigidaire then gave us a liability reference number and someone will call us back the coming week. The person from the gas company disconnected the oven.

Model #FGE337AWJ Serial # VF53231484 Made by: Frigidaire. I had a scare of my life and especially a scare for my grandchildren’s life. Yesterday, I woke up feeling dizzy and my grandson was not himself. My carbon monoxide went off and alerted me about 8:00 pm that there was monoxide in the house. We were checked out by the EMS. I was told that if I would not have notified anyone, my grandchildren might not have made it through the night. Oh my God, that was a scare! I left my house and Dominion Gas came and reported it was a leak in my stove. Please take this matter serious and pass it on and please install a carbon monoxide unit in your house or apartment. I had a headache and was dizzy for a week. I had to leave my house.

I have no problem with the merchant who sold me the Frigidaire gas stove. I do, however, have huge problems with the designers who created this nightmare and then marketed it as being easily cleanable. The top is impossible to clean using a damp cloth. The black remains smeary and spotted. The grates are heavy and have to be scrubbed with a scouring pad. All this joy for the price of $1000. Frigidaire should be ashamed of themselves for this product but I'm sure that they are not. I am having it removed from my kitchen and taking it to the appliance store where it was purchased with a sign on it saying "Do not buy any Frigidaire products."

We purchased a Frigidaire gas stove in the fall of 2009. This is a five burner stove. The problem is that the knobs to turn the burners on are not safe. They are supposed to be safe. They should push in and turn to lite. Well, if we lean against the knobs, they turn on. Not a very good safety on these. I'm thankful that my husband woke up one night and smelled the gas and didn't turn anything on because we could have blown up. I went and bought a gas detector; and it worked because I was watching TV and the alarm went off. I went to check and the burner was on without being lite. Gas smell again.

I wish I knew about this website before we got our Frigidaire range. Our burners come on spontaneously as well. It's terrifying. They flare red hot while in the off position. A repair did not remedy the problem, just as others have described. What is required to begin a class action lawsuit? If attorneys read these complaints, please don't wait for the bigger settlement you expect to get after someone burns to death. It is not a matter of if, it is a matter of when.

We purchased a Frigidaire self-cleaning gas range in Sept. 2005. The plastic over the control panel began showing signs of melting and buckling within the first six months, when the oven was used at high temp settings. I contacted a Frigidaire repairman, who replaced the panel and said it shouldn't happen again. Unfortunately, it did, and the warranty has expired.
I contacted them and they told me to call the number for out-of-warranty appliances. I'm afraid to pay out of pocket to have it fixed, since I have every reason to believe the same thing will happen again. We paid about $900.00 for this oven. I am shocked, disappointed, and will never buy anything they make again. You really don't get what you pay for.
