Conair 1875 - Have had the blow dryer less than two years. I don't use every day, I have short thin hair. When I do use it for less than 10 minutes. The blow dryer started making loud sounds and turns on sometimes but not others. After reading other reviews, I am throwing out and will not purchase Conair again.

I called the company about a safety rest that was to be on my iron and the company said, "Oh well cant help you." The rest was not on there and was advertised to be on there and the person on the other end said take to where I bought it and they will put it on there, but none of them have it on there and was advertised to be on there. So the company said "I WAS WRONG AND THERE IS NO REST". SINCE WHEN IS THE CUSTOMER WRONG. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM. RUDE PEOPLE WORK THERE!!!

In July 2016 I was badly burnt. I was admitted to a burn unit 2 hours from my young son (5) for multiple skin grafts and more pain than words could ever express, our lives forever changed that day! Based on customer reviews and the multiple times that this has happened with the same model and brought to their attention CONAIR knew there was a problem with this product and did nothing. I am still suffering from the effects of their negligence.

I had a Conair Hair Dryer, 1875. One day, I was drying my hair, and it started to sound like a jet engine. There was a flame inside of it! I called Conair. They said they would replace it, and refund my shipping. They did replace it. But never refunded my shipping. When I called, they said 6-8 weeks. It's been 8. I just called, and got put on terminal hold. Then, I hung up, called back, and was told they aren't going to refund my shipping because the unit was out of warranty.
However, the dryer wasn't worth the shipping. I certainly would not have bought the same defective unit! I wouldn't have paid to ship it, had they informed me in the first place. The customer service is atrocious! I will never buy another Conair. It could have caught my hair and house on fire. That would have cost them a lot more than $8.65. I do not recommend.

I returned a curling iron to have a broken clip part replaced but they said they weren't going to fix it, they'll send me a new one. They said they would order it because they were out of stock and it would be about 3 weeks. I called when the three weeks were up then they told me that it was there ready, for Canada Post to pick it up and two weeks have gone by I haven't received it so I called again. The guy tells me it'll be here in 7 to 10 days. They didn't have stock so it's a new story every time. If it's not here by the end of the month I'll go buy another brand.

This is the second Conair 1875 Watt Dryer I have owned and I still have problems with the brush attachment falling off during the styling process. Very frustrating! The combs are no problem, but the brushes are always too loose! Also, I wish the "cool" button would click in place so you don't have to hold it down while styling. I have hand issues so it's very hard to keep applying pressure to the button while styling. Unless these issues are fixed, I'm afraid I will have to look into another alternative.

A couple of years ago, the Conair Infiniti Pro hair dryer that I was using was recalled. After contacting customer service, I sent the recalled dryer back to Conair and they sent me a replacement (the same model, an Infiniti Pro). A few weeks ago, sparks started coming out of this dryer while I was drying my hair. Then smoke followed. Obviously, the issue that resulted in the recall in the first place was not corrected. I immediately called Conair to report this. I was told to ship this dryer back to Conair (they would email me a return shipping label) and a new dryer would be sent to me. Day after day, week after week, I waited for the shipping label to arrive in my email and I even kept checking my spam for it daily. No label! It has taken me 3 phone calls to finally get a shipping label emailed to me so that I could send the dryer back to Conair.
Yesterday, I received the replacement dryer in the mail. It was packed in a corrugated brown shipping box with bubble wrap inside. When I opened the shipping box, I was astonished to see that the actual Conair dryer box was all mangled. It literally looked like someone had stepped on it with a pair of heavy work boots!! The integrity of the dryer must be compromised by virtue of the extent of damage to the box. The outer brown shipping box was in pristine shape, so obviously the damage wasn't sustained during shipping. A Conair employee thought that it was acceptable to pack and ship a mangled box to a customer. Why didn't he/she just take another box off the shelf that wasn't destroyed and send that one to me? Too lazy, I guess.
I called Conair Customer Service to report the condition of the box that they had sent to me and offered to email them pictures of it, but I was told that this was acceptable and there was nothing they were going to do about it. They would not exchange the dryer. This will be the last time I purchase a product from Conair. Sparks flying out of a dryer that posed danger to me and a inept customer service department to boot!

I asked my sister for a new hairdryer for Christmas. She got me the Infinity Pro Conair 1875 watt dryer. I seemed to like it at first, but the outside of the dryer, had a mesh coating on it. I have long hair, and my hair kept getting caught. Not only that, I used it yesterday, and it started smoking and making a loud noise. I couldn't believe it! This blow dryer was only a few months old, not overused. Thank god I had my older Conair, this one I had for quite a few years. These products should be tested more frequently, before putting them in stores. So today, I bought a new blow dryer, but I'm trying a different one. I hope this one doesn't blow up either. What a disappointment. :(

My wife has had this hair dryer for about a year or so. One morning last week she was drying her hair when a flash and popping started, then smoke and a flame appeared three inches from the plug in the cord. After extinguishing the flame, she had to kill power to the whole house to get the dryer plug removed from the outlet. The flame did not trip the GFI in the wall or the blow dryer plug (GFI stands for Ground Fault Interrupter, NOT power). The dryer shorted across power, not ground. She was fine AFTER her heart slowed down (panic over).

I have been a supporter of Conair hair tools for over a decade. I'm writing you to inform you that one of your specialty series flat irons called" tourmaline" has overheated and possibly was the cause of burning my client's hair completely out. I only had the flat iron over a month and never experienced this. My client has been a loyal client for over 4 years and we have never experienced this kind of mishap before Ever!!!!! This flatiron "tourmaline" by Conair was on level 420 heat the entire time. It wasn't until I got to the shaft of her hair and the iron stuck to the hair and completely fried it out on the left side. Once this happen I screamed as well as she did. My client and I sat down and went through entire process of how we do her hair and what possibly could have happened, then realizing there was nothing we did to cause this.
My client always reminds me to make sure the heat is down just because she didn't want to loose her natural curl pattern however she didn't have to mention that to me this time because the heat was only at 420. We did not spray any chemicals in her hair before flat ironing it nor did we put any oils or serum in it either! Her hair was completely dry and ready for style. I know for a fact it was the iron because it gets super hot when you go over 390 degrees and this is something that just start happening after I retested it on my hair. It's almost like it did some kind of freak blow up in side the actual iron. I'm not sure what we can do about this issue but I assured my client that I will be there to the end to resolve this issue at hand!
These irons may need to be recalled or looked into because this is not Acceptable. Throughout my 15 years of doing hair I have never experienced it! It is embarrassing and now I DON'T trust Conair anymore! I'm not a complainer and I know accidents happen I also know I wouldn't email you if I didn't have my facts in line, but this is something that needs to be looked into ASAP! Please have someone contact me asap. I would love to send pictures of her hair but there is no attachment folder in this box to do so. However, I will send one once someone contacts me back. Really need a response soon so that I can better assist my client and assure her that her hair will grow back and we can treat it properly! Thanks again. Note this msg is for corporation. Regards.

As I have the curling iron rotated around a length of hair, out of the blue, the iron pops and shoots sparks flying everywhere from the handle!! Good grief! I purchased a Conair hair dryer (Model 124AC) with dual voltage prior to an overseas trip to the UK. The box states that this hair dryer has dual voltage, 2 heats/2 speeds and a folding handle. I checked that all was working prior to my trip. When in the UK I changed the voltage to the 250 setting, and was surprised to find that only 1 heat/1 speed works on the higher voltage. It is only the highest heat and speed setting that works.
Once home I contacted the company to see if this was a defect and was told this was how the dryer operates on the 250 setting. Their response is that this information is contained in the inside brochure under "additional information", found on the reverse of the operating instructions which I had read. I told the company that this information should be on the box as I bought this "travel" hair dryer to use overseas and wouldn't have purchased a 1 heat/1 speed dryer. Their position is that the dryer is functioning as it is supposed to therefore they will not accept a return. It is also beyond the period when I can return it to the store so I am stuck with it. I believe this to be a case of misleading packaging, fully known to them and was very disappointed with their customer service.

I purchased my first Conair Infiniti Pro 1875 hair dryer about a year ago. I loved it, until one day while using it, flames started shooting out the end of the handle. I was unaware anyone else had this problem. I had just returned from vacation and I assumed something must have happened to it during travel... although, I could not figure out what could have happened.
I purchased the exact same model again (thinking the first one must have been damaged while traveling). I immediately noticed that the 2nd one did not seem as powerful. I used it for about 6 weeks until this morning. While I was drying my hair, I heard a buzzing noise and felt a shock. I immediately dropped the dryer and unplugged it. I tested the wall plug with a very old dryer I have and no problem. I noted on the plug there was a test and reset button. I waited about an hour and attempted to plug it in again. Immediately I heard the buzzing and got shocked again. I would not recommend anyone purchase this unit. It is extremely dangerous.

I bought this hairdryer at a pharmacy in Manhattan about six or seven months ago. It was on sale. I've had no problems with it until today. While using it, it made a couple of popping sounds and then immediately flames and sparks started shooting out of the bottom of the handle and I felt a current go up my left arm. I dropped the hairdryer on the floor and pulled the plug out of the socket. The resulting smoke in the bathroom was very unpleasant. I immediately went to the Conair website intending to report it and saw that many model numbers of the Infinity Pro had been recalled, but not my model number 259Y. The recall notice was very specific in saying that only models with one screw on the back of the handle were being recalled. My model 259Y has TWO screws on the back.
I telephoned the Recall Center and spent 17 MINUTES ON HOLD. Honestly, for a department that is entrusted with dealing with safety issues, this is quite unacceptable. I hung up and proceeded to call the Conair Corporate Headquarters in Connecticut. I was transferred to a Directors voicemail at extension #**. I believe that her VM message said that her name was Andrea ** (phonetic representation). I left her a very long message with all of the above information and more along with my phone number which I repeated TWICE. I demanded a call back and also demanded that the website recall information be updated to include this model 259Y with TWO screws on the back of the handle.
I got a call back from a woman in New Jersey who said that she was the only person who worked in the Personal Products Department now, because everyone had been laid-off or had retired. (I had encountered some difficulty returning her call; kept getting disconnected.) When I asked her why the disconnections, she said that the calls automatically disconnect when she can't answer them because she doesn't have voicemail. When I asked her why she didn't have voicemail, she responded, "I guess I don't rate." The woman took all of my information and said that she would refer it to another product department and someone would be back in touch with me shortly. I won't hold my breath.
Conair's lack of preparedness for important calls from consumers about safety hazards with their products is inexcusable and shows a disregard for consumer safety. It also seems typical of a company on its way to going out of business. I plan to stay away from all Conair and Cuisinart (their brand, too) products for the next few years.

Had to wait for it to ship to Bed, Bath and Beyond (because everyone wants one) and that thing ate my hair for real. If my 17 year son hadn't saved me I would have lost an inch of hair. Conair Infiniti Pro 1875 Watt Hair Dryer. I purchased this hair dryer last week to replace a hair dryer I've used for 5+ years. Took dryer out of box and dried my hair and it worked fine. After I finished I threw away the packaging. The next day I went to dry my hair and the medium blower would not work at all. I called Conair this morning since the product has a one-year warranty (or so I thought) and was advised that I needed to send the dryer to their Arizona warehouse AT MY EXPENSE where it would be evaluated and they would then let me know what I needed to do next. When I asked why I was required to pay postage to return a defective dryer I was told I should be happy because they normally charge for the item to be returned to you as well and they waived that portion of the fee. Bad product and worse customer service! I strongly advise anyone considering a Conair hair dryer to reconsider!

Bought 5 i-Stubble men's hair trimmers for Christmas. All but one worked. The spring that holds the blade assembly together wasn't attached. Contacted Conair and I kept having to contact them again and again because every replacement that I got (3 replacements) all had the same problem. Quality control just let them get by. I have read many reviews about people with the same problems for the GMT880. Tried to attach the spring myself, but the tiny plastic piece that holds it just breaks right off. I had and used this blow dryer for a couple of years. This particular morning I was using it for about 15 minutes and it started smelling like hair was burning. Before I could turn it off something came out of the blow dryer and landed between my breast and my bra. It burnt a hole in my bra and burnt my skin. There was like metal that I had to dig out of my burn. I am left with a small scar. I had just thrown away the blow dryer but when I realized it was going to leave me a scar I pulled it out. I took pictures just in case there is anything I need to do to prove this blow dryer did this to me.

They took my information and were to send me a replacement product. I waited over 30 days and called to follow up on the status. They said they would send a referral to corporate and I would receive a call back within 48 hours. I did not hear from them and I called back on 11/26 and another referral was sent to corporate and again I was told another call would be received and yet again no call. On 12-4, I called to inquire again and was told that the product was sent out on 12/11 via FedEx. Only later to learn that my product could not have gone FedEx because FedEx does not deliver to a PO box.
I did call from a floor supervisor on 12/12. I called back to company on 12/16 and spoke with a customer service rep and a floor supervisor. I was told that they could put in another request to resend to physical address. This date, 12/16, I was advised that I should receive something within 7 to 10 business days. I called back today on 12/27 and had been told again they could put in a ticket to corporate. Seeing how I did not receive any calls the previous two times, I asked for a specific date as to when I would get replacement product. This time I was informed the product was never sent out nor was the address changed. I cannot believe that the company runs like this. It is unacceptable and I guarantee I will never buy another Conair product again.

I literally can't believe they would keep this product on the shelves and try to cover this up rather than protect the public and children from injury. The customer service representative I spoke with said they are unable to generate a ticket for return/exchange of this product and I would have to wait for corporate to contact me in the next 4-7 days on this matter. I also felt my heart beating really fast. So at this time I am very upset because I have gotten hold of the Conair Company and have had no response to the incident. I did have to go the Emergency Room and thank Goodness all the tests came out good. My concern is if the product is of no good (or any of their products) they need to pull them off the shelves, so that nobody else gets hurt.

I was so excited when I found this hair dryer with a retractable cord! Fitting the dryer and cord into my small bathroom cabinet has always been a problem; but alas, with this purchase, I would have one less hassle in my life - or so I hoped. The reality is that I have traded one problem for two others. Oh, yes, the cord retracts as advertised; in fact, it does every time I lay it down! Set it on the counter to brush a curl and zippppp, the cord whips in, knocking down everything in its path, and with its ratcheting zing sound, scaring me half to death. It sounds like electricity on the loose!
The retract button is on the highest point on the left side of the blower, and when it rests on that side, the weight compresses it just enough to set off the retracting spring. If I wasn't awake before I am now! (Easily fixed, just rest it on the other side - try to remember that every time you set it down.) But alas, that is not all; try to turn it off and you'll find that without driving a fingernail into the groove of the switch, the switch is not moving. Great fun when the cord has just pulled the device right up to the plug. Just hope it doesn't bump the faucet and turn on the water on its mad dash to destruction. This baby is going in the trash as soon as I find a new one (ouch, another unexpected cost!), and I can guarantee it will not be a Con(artist)air!

My husband purchased a Rusk Speed Freak Dryer (Pink) for Christmas in 2011 from Ulta. In March of 2012, the filter on the back of the dryer popped out and would not go back in. I could not locate my receipt, so I didn't immediately contact Customer Service. I came across the receipt in October of 2012. I called in to Customer Service at 800-326-6247 from work. The rep Craig told me that he needed the model number of the dryer. I said I would call back. I went home and could not locate a model number on the dryer or cord. I searched everywhere. No part number. I called Customer Service back and got Craig again. This time, I explained that there was no model number other than Speed Freak on the dryer.
I asked if there was more than one model number for the unique "Pink" Speed Freak. He said in an irritated tone that he could not help me without the model number. We went back and forth with "there is no model number on this unit" to "I'll need the model number." Still, he sounded so irritated with me. I asked to speak to a supervisor, and in a very condescending and disrespectful tone, he said, "Of course, but while you are on hold, you need to look on the handle of the dryer for the part number as no one here will be able to help you without it." I asked him if he was really in a Customer Service position talking to me in such a rude way, and he continued to talk over me repeating the same thing over and over and raising his tone saying, "You need to provide the model number." I raised my tone back and said to let me speak to that supervisor now! I was put on hold for 9 long minutes, at which time, a nicer lady got on the phone and said I could send the dryer back and a replacement would be sent to me which is a 2- to 3-week process.
I hung up, and upon my husband's suggestion, I gave Ulta a call and told them the situation. They said, "Come on in, and we will provide a replacement even though we normally don't do this after 60 days." Now, that is good customer service! I was so disappointed in the lack of respect and customer service from the Conair rep! By the way, the person at Ulta opened the brand-new Speed Freak Pink hairdryer while I was on the phone and said there is no part number on the unit at all!

I had dropped the brush I was using to dry my hair, bent over to pick it up, so the hair dryer was just above waist level. All of a sudden it popped, sending out sparks from the bottom of the hair dryer, where the cord comes out, and it burnt the ** out of an area on my left side. The hair dryer is now dead. I have only had this hair dryer right at a year, so I cannot imagine that it would do this in such a short period. I do not wrap the cord around the hair dryer when I'm finished with it and I make sure the filter area is clean.
I cannot imagine what happened and my concern is that if I or someone else had been using this Conair hair dryer to dry a small child's hair, the damage could have been even more severe, such as burning their face or eye(s). I have cervical and lumbar spinal issues. It was recommended to me to buy a Neck Massager for relief for the cervical area. The only brand I saw available to buy was a ConAir brand. It was $39.99 plus tax. That's a lot for me but if it helps, I could manage. For me, it does provide relief. However, it is very flimsy and the important part of the massager is the strap, which attaches to a button and keeps the massager snug to the back of the neck and then vibrates when you turn it on. The product is a month old and the strap is loose already!
The strap is difficult to attach, especially if you have arthritis, carpal tunnel, etc. But the real issue is, if you use this massager several times daily, it's very obvious that the strap and the button's days are very limited. As a result, being I have difficulty attaching the strap and not wanting it to break completely off, I seldom use it and just hold the massager as close to my neck with one or both hands for as long as I can. Now, for $40.00 plus, I expect better quality than that and I shouldn't have to do that. As much as I use it on a daily basis, this product won't last but a few months if I use that flimsy strap. And it is very clumsy to hold it for any length of time against your neck.
I'm on a fixed income and struggling like anybody else is. It's not like you can take the product out of the box in the store and out of the wrapper and thoroughly examine it, read the warranty, etc. You look at the picture on the carton which is deceiving, in my opinion, and base your purchase on that. Plus, based on the pain you're experiencing, you're seeking relief and making a purchase decision on that as well. Well, I feel like I've been had. Even though the product is beneficial to me (nothing miraculous, but helpful), the product should be a better quality product for its price. Now inside the box is the warranty and it states the product may be replaced or fixed, but you have to pay postage fees both ways. How's that for having the deck stacked against you? That serves no purpose except to limit to a trickle the number of replacements ConAir has to mail out.
So I filed a BBB complaint. I got a response from a "Claims Manager" for ConAir named Pamela. She did offer to have ConAir pay the postage so they can replace and inspect it. However, I use that product on a daily basis several times per day. I can't wait for another to be returned in 2 weeks or more. I can't afford to go out and spend another $40.00 either. So I called Pamela to discuss this with her and she didn't pick up. I left a detailed voice mail message, but she never returned my call. I called her again and she was so abrupt and rude that after a short time, I didn't want to deal with her and said you're not going to be able to help me. Just by her words and particularly her tone made me feel like she thought I was trying to "scam" them.
You know Pamela, there are a few honest people left in this world. Ms. Pamela, if you work for a company who manufactures health and wellness products, then you need to do more listening and be more empathetic. What I wanted to resolve with her is to receive a credit and apply it towards a purchase on their website and continue to use what I had. Once I received the new one, send them the old. I wanted to offer to send in the UPC code from the box so they'll know I actually bought a neck massager. I wanted to offer to pay with a credit card and when they get the defective one back, credit me an agreed upon amount on my credit card. Did you ever start talking with someone and immediately get the impression that this conversation will go nowhere? Well, that's how I felt with Ms. Pamela who represents ConAir. Worthless.

This unit is a replacement of an earlier model 975BKN that had the same problem. Coffee grounds and hot coffee were all over the counter (see enclosed picture). The coffee in the insulated carafe (about 1/3 full) before the malfunction, was lukewarm.
Coffee grounds were visible on the lid of the carafe. Needless to say, for a coffee lover, rushing to get ready for work, it is infuriating to come upon the mess at 5:30 AM and not even be able to salvage a tiny cup of hot, palatable coffee before beginning the clean up. The unit I just mailed back to you, same model, had a carafe whose handle detached from the top of the carafe when my wife was pouring the second cup of coffee in the morning. Coffee spewed out over the counter, luckily not burning her or staining her formal work clothes. But, it was yet another mess to clean up in the early morning while rushing to get on the road for work.
Hot coffee and grounds on wood floor and seeping into cabinets. Lingering fear that these products will harm me or my wife. The cost of returning products was $21.98 and cost to replace the coffee maker with a new brand is about $120.

I purchased a Rusk Speed Freak Ceramic hair dryer a little over a month ago. As soon as I used it, within seconds, it started to catch on fire. I immediately pulled the plug out of the socket and it burned my hand. I sent it back, along with pictures of my burnt hand, to Conair who sent me a check for the product minus the taxes that I paid. There was no acknowledgment of the burn, or apology.
I called them to inquire, only to get a call back a week later from Pam telling me that the dryer that I claimed was brand new was 5 years old. I swore to her that the dryer that I purchased was bought brand new from the store.
She alluded that I was lying about the facts and even attempted to hang up the phone after I insisted that I did not have that dryer for 5 years. She told me that it was dirty and the cord was warped as if it were old. She mentioned that it had hair spray on it. I told her that I did not use hair spray, and that I would be willing to submit to a lie detector test to prove that I was telling the truth. She even told me that I should have known that the dryer had been used when I bought it. She was not very nice about letting me know that I was the one who had a problem.
After talking with her, I decided that I wanted to make consumers aware of this matter. I let her know that I had just purchased a new house and my house could have burned down. She was very insensitive to my issue. I realized that although I was the victim, she treated me in a very demeaning way. The conversation got so heated that I told her that I had a disabled child, and I would swear on his life that I did not attempt to deceive Conair. She told me that she did not care about that.
I will be sending the information to any agency that could investigate my claims so that no one will get hurt or lose their life over this. Conair's response came across like the Toyota of beauty of appliances. I want the incident to go on record so that the consumer could be protected. Throughout most of the conversation she talked to me as if she were speaking to a child. Even if it was 5 years old, she should have still addressed the fire.
I even mentioned to her that if it were that old, could the store had returned it and placed it in the box. I also asked her why my receipt did not match the serial number. She claimed that the receipts only match the model number. My family could have died!

The first return the Associate insisted that it was from a bad socket in my house, and she stated that she will do it this time. Now the second dryer has done the same thing and this time it was plugged into extention cord nto even in the same wall taht it hapeen the last time.I feel that this is a fire hazard and also a defect that needs to be looked at before someone get seriously hurt. Your attention to the matter would be greatly appreciated and also a replacement of thie product to myself. I was very upset to hear one of your associates blame me for a defective product that I purchased from one of your stores. I love to shop at Walmart but if this is the kind of service that I will get for shopping there I would rather spend my money elsewhere.

I purchased a curling iron from Conair in Feb 2007. In March 2007 it caught my hair on fire after 2 seconds or curling my hair. It took a week before I got an email back from them . I sent back the iron that had much heat damage to the extent it discolored the metal and permanetly burned off the metal were my hair was, Conair reponded 2 weeks after recieving the iron and said it was my fault. Which is imposiable. My dr will back it up. my beautican of 18 years wrote them a letter. All they claimed is it they saw a stripped screw which the mail must have done. I had the post master pack it..Then they said I have some disease of my head and that is how I basically burned bald or it is the texture of my hair they wont work with me , they are rude. and said yesterday 8 weeks after the fact they would send me 250.00 as a gesture.. Im 46 my hair is in good condition. What kind of heat will catch hair on fire after this short of time? and my hair was dry when I curled it.

I bought a conair wet to dry straightener model s3c type k71mp for in dec, 2006 for my daughter for christmas. This product worked great until just yesterday when I went and straightend her hair it burnt her hair so bad that it turned her hair bright orange and so you know she is 11 yrs old her hair was very healthy before this happened she has blode hair that has never been died or anything like that, I had to take her to Wallmart today 2/25/07 to get her hair cut. The hair dresser said her hair was healthy and this should have never happened and she has never seen this before she had to cut several inches off of my daughters beautifull hair to get most of it out there is still some hair that is burnt that if she would have cut more off it would have made her bangs pretty short.
I have never had a problem with your products before now I will have to spend several dollars on treatments to get her hair back to normal which that wont bring the length back although. I would like to here back from someone as soon as possible. I purchased this product at Wallmart did not registar it when I bought it now I wish I had. I still have the product if you need it sent to you. this was a very upsetting situation for my daughter she cried and cried when she seen what it had done to her hair..

My set of Conair Jumbo Hot rollers of which I have been using and gone thru several sets of them over the past 10 years cause I like them, started to get really hot yesterday and then today when I used them I had trouble getting them out of the base holder and found out they were actually melting inside of it and this set was only a couple months old. I have several older sets that I have saved over the years so you can see that I have been using them for a long time and I am afraid to buy another set now cause I don't know if the next set will overheat too. I have the whole set still but can't use no more since they partly melted and can show them to you.

I have a Conair 1875 hair dryer and while I was using my hair dryer today it caught on fire and shocked me. My husband opened it up to see why it would catch on fire and found that it had gotten so hot at the switch that the soder came off. I actually saw fire coming out by the cord when I threw it on the ground and pulled the plug out of the wall. My hair dryer is maybe 2 years old but it should not catch on fire in my hands.

We have a Conair hand-held hair dryer. I is a model 16oo Supermax. It is about three years old. Today, it suddenly turned on by itself (it was plugged in) and started smoking and flaming up. We unplugged it in time and were not hurt. We are just reporting that this happened to warn others. If we had not been home, it definitely could, would have caused a fire.
