Aptive Environmental is a pest control company that has been in business since 2015. Aptive offers whole home and yard protection from a variety of pests, including cockroaches, earwigs, fleas, flies, mosquitoes, rodents and more. The company positions itself as improving the lives of its customers by ensuring they can enjoy their spaces without unwanted guests. Along those lines, Aptive also partners with global agencies like United to Beat Malaria and Saminay-El Legado, a K-12 school in the Andes Mountains of Ecuador, to help make a difference.

How does Aptive Environmental work?

You can call Aptive directly or submit an online form to get started. The company doesn’t provide free inspections, but you can get a free quote over the phone.

Aptive’s services generally require a year-long contract. There are three main plans to choose from, all of which target both the inside and outside of your home. However, technicians can only treat attics with finished flooring and crawl spaces that are at least five feet high. Aptive guarantees that if you notice pests between scheduled appointments, a technician will return and re-treat for free, which helps add peace of mind.

  • Basic: Treatments every 50 to 80 days. Doesn’t include outdoor rodents, pantry pests, snails, slugs or aphids, but you can add them for an additional fee.
  • Pro: Treatments every 30 to 60 days in April through October and every 50 to 80 days in November through March. Includes outdoor rodents, pantry pests, snails, slugs and aphids.
  • Premium: Treatments every 20 to 40 days in April through October and every 50 to 80 days in November through March. Includes outdoor rodents, pantry pests, snails, slugs, aphids and mosquitos.

Aptive Environmental costs

All of Aptive’s prices are based on year-long service agreements. As of publishing, a standard initial treatment is $399, with monthly fees ranging from $49 to $99 depending on the frequency of service and the types of pests being treated. This brings annual costs to between $938 and $1,488. Aptive frequently has promotional discounts, so you may be able to get the initial treatment at a lower cost. Customers pay upfront for the initial treatment and then monthly for the length of the contract term. There is a $199 fee for canceling the contract early.

What chemicals does Aptive Environmental use?

All of Aptive’s products are EPA-approved and customers will receive a list of all the chemicals used on their property. The chemicals used depend on the season, the type and life stage of the pest and your location —  some products aren’t registered for use in all states. Is Aptive Environmental safe for pets?

In general, the chemicals Aptive uses are safe for pets. However, the company advises that people and animals should stay away from treated areas until they’re completely dry, typically two to three hours. Customers with birds or aquariums should either remove them from the house during treatment or cover them completely.

Does Aptive Environmental have payment plans?

Aptive does not offer payment plans. When you sign a contract, you’ll pay for the initial treatment and then each month thereafter to continue your services.

    I've been using Aptive Environmental's services on a monthly basis primarily for mice and general pest prevention. Given the surrounding environment of my large rural property, proactive measures were a necessity to prevent and address pest issues.

    Since inviting Aptive to treat my property, I've seen not only a marked improvement but have been reassured by their prompt follow-up. They typically stick to exterior treatments, always ensuring they're thorough during their visits. On occasions when I've been present, they've walked through any concerns I highlight, quickly addressing them with efficient solutions. I've appreciated their dedication and the detailed follow-ups which include photos if I'm unable to be physically present.

    If a friend or family member asked me about Aptive, I'd emphasize their punctuality and comprehensive service. Their attention to detail and willingness to rectify issues promptly has been notable. While their services are somewhat on the pricier side and require a contract with a penalty for early termination, the results have justified the investment thus far. Their constant efficiency reassures me of the value I’m getting, even though I always look forward to see how it pans out over the agreed period.

    Overall, Aptive has provided excellent customer service, and their field staff have been consistently courteous and thorough, always asking if there's more they can do during each visit. Although I consider their pricing to be on the high end with a necessary reevaluation at the end of my contract period, the results so far have maintained a high standard with my satisfaction. Despite any initial reservations regarding the contract terms, the performance and results have made me inclined to recommend their services.

      The initial salesman from Aptive Environmental was really pushy, forward and gimmicky, and my husband signed up because he doesn't know how to say no. However, the service so far has been good. I've been able to call and we haven't had any issues. They've come out in between scheduled appointments to deal with black widows in our garage.

      Aptive's technician came to treat both the interior and exterior of our garage, and everything went smoothly. However, coordinating a time for appointments was not as straightforward as I'd hoped. Initially, we requested appointments after 5 pm to ensure we'd be home, but on multiple occasions, we received calls saying they were on their way around noon. This miscommunication on scheduling happened a few times, which was quite frustrating on the day of service as well. I was at work and luckily, there was a technician who lives in the area that we live in and he can come on the way home; he communicated updates about his expected arrival time, which I appreciated.

      In terms of effectiveness, I've noticed some improvement in managing our pest issues, though Aptive mentioned we should see results over a few months. Reflecting on the overall experience, I would rate Aptive around a 4 out of 5. If I were to share my experience with family or friends, I'd note that their services were effective, yet advise vigilance in ensuring appointment expectations align with reality.

      I went with Aptive Environmental due to difficulties with pest issues around my home, particularly mosquitoes and spiders. Their team came by last week, navigating our backyard under construction, and did an exceptional job beyond my expectations. They addressed our house's perimeter, focused on mosquito bait, and expanded care to all necessary areas, alleviating my concerns about ongoing construction disturbing the treatment.

      Aptive's efforts dramatically reduced ant and spider activity in and around my home. Prior problematic areas, such as our backyard undergoing extensive remodeling, were notably improved. I've also noticed a sharp decline in insects on our front porch and was impressed to discover their thorough cleaning of our walkway pergola as well. Thanks to their service, I can now work comfortably in my garden without fearing spider encounters or worsening mosquito bites, which I am allergic to.

      In addition to their effective pest control, Aptive has shown excellent customer service. Their team communicates appointment schedules conveniently. If unexpected changes arise, like a doctor's appointment, I've found their team is responsive and accommodating. Despite other companies attempting to sway us away by claiming superiority, Aptive's consistency and results solidified our decision to remain with them.

      On a logistical note, the convenience of automatic payments is a plus, removing the hassle of manual billing. Given our satisfaction, I've tried recommending them to my neighbors, although not all see the value, especially considering our older age makes personal pest control difficult.

      We've been with Aptive for just over a year now, and I genuinely couldn't be happier with our experiences and the drastic reduction in pest activity. Their services have been transformational — saving us from holding onto aging pest-control supplies and foregoing less effective do-it-yourself methods. Overall, I support and recommend Aptive Environmental to friends seeking reliable pest control solutions.

      Recently, I had the pleasure of having Grant, an Aptive representative, come over for a visit. He was very punctual, sending me a text when he was on his way and arriving exactly when he said he would. We had a chat about some issues, particularly the unexpected mice problem we faced during the summer. He was attentive and put in place a couple of bait traps, including one in the attic, which I found to be a considerate touch.

      We’ve had an on-and-off relationship with Aptive for a few years, originally calling on them to tackle ant problems, which were subsequently under control for a while. More recently, last year, we decided to enlist their help once more to manage ants and mosquitoes.

      I've certainly noticed a difference since they resumed their services. While they primarily treat the exterior, this past visit marked the first time in two years they also treated the inside, which was beneficial. Reflecting on my overall experience, I’d give them a strong rating in terms of service and customer relations, albeit acknowledging their prices can be a tad high, so my value-for-money rating would stand at about 4 stars.

      Navigating their website has generally been a smooth experience for me, especially when rescheduling appointments. Overall, I've been quite satisfied with Aptive Environmental's service and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to others.

      We had a different provider in our other house but I wasn't real thrilled with them. They were not very friendly. It was like they didn't care. The attitude was really different. I was sitting outside this house one day and an after-sales person from Aptive came to our gate. She very nice. She explained the program and did a great job. She told me if after a year and I didn't like their service, I could cancel. But if it was sooner than that, there was a penalty. I signed up then lots of people started coming. We have our house and our rental house next door, and they do both. They've always been very friendly and always explained. They go above and beyond as far as being courteous. They also take the little pictures and text them.

      A couple of years ago, we had a hornet problem with our rental. Right above the front door was a nest up in the eaves. One of them stung one of our renters. Fortunately, there was another door to go out the front, off the kitchen, and they started using that. I called Aptive and they came out. It took three different treatments before the problem was resolved and I never got charged extra when I thought it was gonna cost a lot. I was so impressed that they took it upon themselves to fix this issue and tell us, "This is where you really should shore up the entrance into your crawl space.” We got our contractor to do that and we haven't had a problem since. I love the Aptive people. They are wonderful and do a really good job. They've got a good sense of humor as well. I've never met any grumpy person. In fact, whenever somebody mentions pest control, I tell them to use Aptive.

      Absolutely horrible. Pressured my disabled veteran husband with TBI to sign contract while I was at work. Within 24 hours we emailed and cancelled service. Showed up the next month after charging again. We demanded they get off our property. Never Showed up but still charged us a third time. We called and got confirmation they would refund us all charges but and that never happened. Now they are telling my bank we didn’t follow cancellation policy even though it clearly states you have 3 days to cancel. And we have proof of absolutely all of it. No follow up call by company. No follow up emails. Just a total scam and if you question me. Google/Reddit etc. for yourself for the endless complaints.

      I would leave negative star rating if possible. Products do not work, and no option to transfer service without signing a new service agreement. Likely a violation that needs the attention of the FTC. Their customer service guaranteed a no-fee cancellation of service after several complaints, yet they continued to bill me. One of my worst experiences with a business. I swear they are spraying a neutral solution around my property because I had spiders/webs and ants all over the exterior of the home after several applications. Photos to prove. They need to be put out of business immediately.

      I was in a quarterly plan with this company for quite some time paying $185 per quarter. I don’t have any complaints about their technicians who were all very nice. My issue started when one of their salesmen came to my door & misled me into signing up for their mosquito treatment add on, which he told me would only add an additional $10 to my bill.. so I agreed to the service.

      Suddenly I was shocked to realize when looking through my credit card statements, that they started charging me $196 per MONTH since July! That’s a lot more than an extra $10 each quarter! Then when I called to complain, they refused to issue me a refund for those charges, so I cancelled. Now they lost a loyal long time customer… and unfortunately I’m also like $600 poorer. Not a loss I can easily afford. I definitely do not recommend this company and their shady sales tactics. This was a lesson for me to make sure to always read the fine print & not believe the words some salesperson tells me.

      Aptive Pest Control has been the worst service experience I’ve had. Their team lacks coordination and proper communication. Every time I raised concerns about ongoing pest issues, nothing meaningful was done. The regional manager made promises to resolve things but never followed through. When a technician finally arrived, he came with a single spray bottle to handle spiders, ignoring several other issues I had reported.

      For a company charging $65 a month, the service quality is unacceptable. The visits feel rushed and ineffective, and there’s no accountability or consistency between appointments. I would not recommend Aptive Pest Control to anyone looking for reliable or professional pest management. It’s a complete waste of money.

      If I could give it less than zero, I would. The person I spoke to originally forged my name to a contract, my bank investigated and determined it was fraud. I tried to cancel many many times but I keep getting request for payment for service is no longer received. I’ve spoken to couple of managers. I’ve sent several emails to no avail. It is getting to be harassment. The card in question was canceled by the bank due to forgery. Elizabeth
