The self-install gear is cheap and breaks easily. They have different customer service and apps for self install. When you call, since it's self-install, it’s hard to find our account info and get help. They just charged me and now want to bill me for another month after I canceled. I’ll never use this company again because of how they handle cancellations.

They are a horrible security company. When I signed up because they weren't going to take no for a answer. They kept saying 30 days money back guarantee. So when the equipment got here I never opened the box and sent it back. Well they took 30 minutes if that to take my money, but getting my money back is a different story. It's been over 40 days and I still haven't got my money back. So it's all lies. There is no guarantee.

Not too long ago, I had to replace the battery and we, my husband and I, were able to do that with the coaching from ADT. It was a very, very good man who coached us through that and it went down successfully. So I would give them 100% on that engagement. I'm in the design and construction business and I could go to a local company that would be cheaper and I could call the man on his cellphone day or night, 24 hours a day, and get immediate help, which is desirable. It's more desirable than what you get.
I used to be ADT Gold because I contracted to put in some ADT systems at various customers' houses number of years ago. So they were my favorite back in the day. Now, I know a couple of family-run alarm businesses in Houston that if I were starting from scratch, I'd probably use for the reasons I just stated, just because they're not a huge company. But as a huge company, sometimes I tell ADT, "Stop raising my prices. Don't charge me so much. You're not competitive anymore," and they lowered my cost by a dollar.

"I would give zero stars if I could. After replacing my modem, my ADT panel refuses to connect to the Wi-Fi, even with a dedicated 2.4GHz band. After multiple calls, customer service admitted it’s likely a 'glitch' or an 'old device,' yet they refused to fix it without charging me for a technician visit. They are fully aware my system is offline and I have no protection, yet they continue to charge me every month. When I tried to cancel, I was told I’m locked into a 3-year contract. It is predatory to charge full price for a non-functional system and then demand more money just to make it work. Avoid ADT if you want a company that actually provides the security you pay for." INSANE...

I’ve been with ADT for more than four years, and my recent experience has been incredibly disappointing. At the beginning of this year, my monthly bill suddenly jumped to about five times what I had been paying under a long-term promotional rate. After paying that bill, I called to complain, but nothing meaningful was resolved, so I canceled. Later, I called back one more time because, despite everything, I had actually been happy with the service overall and wanted to see whether there was any reasonable loyalty pricing that would make it worth staying. I was told they could get me back to my original rate, but that I first needed to reactivate service and sign a contract, and then the customer loyalty team would step in and honor the negotiated price.
Based on that representation, I went through the entire process again: contract, reactivation, and follow-up calls. Then everything changed. I was told the promised price would not be honored, that it supposedly could not take effect, and that the contract could not be modified for a full year after activation. The notes from the prior agent were reviewed, but I was told they “didn’t count.” The only thing they said they could do was cancel the contract I had just been persuaded to enter.
That is the most troubling part of this experience: I was talked into reactivating based on a promise that the post-activation pricing would be adjusted, and then the account management side refused to honor what the sales side had represented. I was even told it is “theoretically impossible” to modify an activated contract before it expires in 2027. This was not just poor customer service. It reflected inconsistent communication, contradictory promises, internal misalignment between teams, failure to honor documented notes, and pricing practices that felt misleading.
To be clear, I was not expecting ADT to keep me forever at the same unusually low price I had years ago. I understood that rate was exceptional, and I was willing to accept some increase. What made this experience so frustrating is that, in the end, it stopped being about the price level at all. It became about being lured into a contract based on one promise, only to be told afterward that the promise never really counted. I wanted to stay with ADT, but this experience left me feeling misled and completely let down. If ADT wants to keep long-time customers, it needs to make sure its sales, loyalty, and account teams are aligned and that commitments made to customers are actually honored.

I am filing this complaint due to ADT’s failure to restore my service despite full payment of my account. My bill has been paid, yet my service remains inactive. Instead of correcting their internal error, ADT has repeatedly threatened to send my account to collections for a balance that does not exist. I have contacted customer support multiple times, and each representative acknowledges the payment but provides no resolution. This ongoing issue is unacceptable for a company entrusted with home security. I expect immediate correction of my account status, restoration of service, and removal of any erroneous collection threats.

ADT has been handy quite a few times. We've had them for about 21 years. When the sensors went off, they helped in, and also with the alarm going off in error several times. So they were good with that.

If I have some issues, I usually get somebody on the phone. They're always very considerate and concerned about what you're trying to correct or fix. Then if it can't be done, ADT has new technology now where they can do remote sessions. If that doesn't work, then they send out somebody to our home. Right now, everything is fine. The only thing that I've noticed recently is that I sometimes get a false notification that something is wrong. It has to do with the batteries beginning to go out in certain devices.
For instance, about a week ago, in the middle of the night a beeping that said a window in my office was being tampered with. I don't really think it was. It was either something with the device itself or the battery in the device. In fact, I was going to call ADT again about it because it happened before, and then everything was okay. They looked at it and said it was fine, and then I got that notification. But that's only been fairly recently because we've had our systems in place for a while. Other than that, it's worked okay.

When we were steaming off wallpaper, it set off the alarm and the fire department came here, but that was okay. We have the same old equipment that we had when ADT installed it. We haven't upgraded at all. But we know that if it goes off, people will be protected. If people try to get in, they can't because the alarm goes off. We're very secure. It's been a good experience. It's there and we know it's there and it's protecting us and that's what we wanted.

I agree with all of the other negative reviews regarding this so called “top rated” company. They’ve already cancelled two appointments at the last minute after me having to take off work and drive over a hundred miles just for a simple installation. Disgraceful racket like the rest of their competitors.

ADT is a good company, but it's a little pricey. Other than that, the performance is fair. Also, I've had good interactions with ADT’s representatives. It's not hard to communicate with them. I've had a so-so sense of security.

ADT bought Brinks and I stayed with them since I had no problems with the service. I’ve been a customer since June 2005 and some upgrades have been made since then. Dealing with the reps who came out to install was fine and the features of my package are good.

I've been with my home security company before it was ADT, at least from 1990 till the present. I need the protection of the alarm because I live on a busy street. I got outdoor cameras a couple of years ago, but when I first started, I didn't even know if they had outdoor cameras. Everything was fine with installation. Overall, I have no problems with ADT, and everything so far has been okay. If I needed help, they were there. Having ADT has been a good experience.

I’m disgusted with customer service from my ADT provider. They took 9 hours to install two cameras and a doorbell and the next day the cameras didn’t work, 3 weeks later they still don’t work and no one has been to my home yet. I have no idea how to work my system because there was no clear instruction on how to set zones, record, or how to set up the Google device they sold me. I replied to an email ADT sent me with a long detailed letter that my service is not working and if I can’t have instruction and cameras fixed, then I want out of contract.
The next day I looked at my email and it was a response back that ADT does not take replies by email. I googled ADT and complained and they didn’t have a tech that could come to my home for a little over a week, the day the tech got here he told me by phone call that he drove the wrong truck that didn’t have the sticker decal to enter into our gate. It’s now been over 3 weeks, and still no service. I called ADT again and spoke to Lady and I was giving her my concern and she basically wanted to tell me what I signed on a contract. I told her I wanted someone at my home and she said she doesn’t have anybody that is available at this time and it got to the point. I was so irritated with them. I just hung up. I would never recommend ADT for service.

Terrible customer service - WATCH OUT - Cost rises every year, and canceling your service is a circus. You will have to pay for 30 days of service you don't want or need if you try to cancel.

I had a security system installed and the installer said that I had to pay off the equipment in five years, but I could cancel my service anytime. LIE LIE LIE. They trapped me into a five-year contract and said if I canceled, I had to keep paying for their monitoring fee. I called them a month after it was installed and wanted to cancel, and they told me I had to write a letter to their headquarters. I wrote the letter but never received any response. I would stay away from ADT. I was lied to and they could care less. Bad company. If I could give less than one star I would.

I knew about ADT through a friend and I’ve been using the service for four and a half years. The installer was very thorough and explained things when he put the system in. It was very well done. The system does what it's supposed to do. It's been a good experience with ADT.

ADT is a good system. If you live alone, you should get it. The installation was quick. It took less than two hours. The system has been enough, except when the batteries get low, the system goes off like somebody broke in. ADT called me at 3:30 in the morning. It was just the battery, but the wall panel should have read, “Low battery.” The cops came, they looked around, and didn't see any breach. ADT did a virtual call. I waited for them to come here, but they said, “No, you got it wrong. We didn't tell you that.” I said, “Yes, you did. I didn't know it was just gonna be a phone call. You had me wasting half my day.” But the guy that did the call was nice and walked me through changing my sensors.

I went through two security systems until they were both bought out by ADT in the late 90s. The techs came and rewired the whole world and put fresh detectors in. I've had the same quarterly charges since the time I opted into ADT. I also get free batteries for replacement in some of the remote detectors that aren’t hardwired. I have called them for help probably 10 times in the last 20 years and one time, they sent a technician. One of the smoke detectors was bad and he noticed that my motion detector in the living room wasn't working, which we hadn’t noticed, and he immediately went out to his truck, got a new motion sensor, and installed it. All of this at no cost. The other times, they explained the problems and I fixed them over the phone.
When we accidentally set off the alarm, we enter our code twice, and that tells ADT that it was us and not something else so they don't bother us. A couple of times, the alarm has gone off, and they have called us within five to 10 minutes to ask if everything was okay. Then, we have to give the password to say that we're okay. The reps have been very professional and are always on time. If I need batteries, they send them that day. They know what the system is and don't have to send me to somebody else to answer questions. Every time I've called, the person who answered the phone knew what I needed to do. Overall, I've had great experiences with ADT. I get marketing emails from them periodically, saying that they'll give me a refund if anybody else gets their system through my referral. But most of my neighbors already have ADT, so that's not very easy to do.

Pick any other company. ADT uses deceptive sales practices and forces you into a perpetual 3 year contract. Once you sign up for their services, they will never let you cancel. I have never ever experienced such a deceitful company.

ADT is effective, good, and reliable. I can recommend it to anybody. Sometimes, if I open the door and not go in quickly, ADT calls me within seconds to remind me that one of the doors is open. That's good for me. Even this morning, I thought I turned off the system. By the time I opened the door and came back, ADT already texted. That's effective.

I’ve been a customer of ADT since August of last year. I’ve never had a home security system before, and it came through a real estate deal. The system was already installed and all I had to do was have the technician come out to switch it over from the previous owner to me. The features are good and meet my expectations.

When my co-worker’s husband came in and talked to me about ADT, I liked his presentation. And he was a good salesman. I bought the basic plan, and it's all that I need. I live in a small townhouse. One time, I had a problem with one of the sensors in my living room, and they came and replaced it. ADT has been very good. They provide what they say they're going to provide. I've had trouble with two different sensors. One was a window sensor, and the other was a sensor in my living room. They came out and fixed it right away. I've had them for almost 10 years now in two different houses, and they've had to send me new plaques for the yard, and they're easy to use. I use the key fob in my bedroom. That's my primary. However, one thing that I don't like is changing the battery on the wall plaque, because that is a pain. It's terrible. I'm 77 now, and I have arthritis in my hand, so it's really hard to change that battery. They need a better design.

We had Guardian, and it was awful. They didn't have local people. And when you call, the closest person is in Pennsylvania, and we were in South Carolina. We had some issues, and we needed tech support fairly close, and they would contract it out. We got fed up, and we switched to ADT three years ago. It's night and day. First of all, we're well into our 70s. We are not techies at all. So when that little screen starts doing things that I don't understand or buzzing, I call them. I've called them more times, and they always answer. They're so helpful and excellent. I like ADT for the fire alarm, smoke alarms, carbon monoxide, and I like the security if we had to leave for an extended period.

ADT popped up on Facebook and people who had ADT were happy with it. It was easy to get in touch with the sales rep and the installation went well. There were some issues with the wiring on our part, but he was able to handle that. We added cameras, front and rear, when we purchased the package. I was having problems with the sensor strips falling off. I have one off right now and we’ve put it back a few times, and it doesn’t stick. But other than that, the system, thus far, is working. I got a call at about 2 o'clock saying that they detected motions on my deck, which was unnerving. But I have a camera back there. I've been very happy with ADT. I've had a couple of things I needed to call them about, and they were very prompt.

1.) 1-30-2024: Signed up service for alarm system package. 2.) 5-24-25: Signed up for camera service and began having issues with this service 8 days after enrollment. Camera resolution unusable quality and audio recording is unrecognizable. The cameras will record for a week. After which they no longer record and we need to re-setup our account. We have been calling about this issue monthly since we set up our account with our account representative Casey. Additionally, we need a $1,000.00 refund on some cameras we purchased that we never used due to the problems.
3.) Casey assured us that it was due to system just being set up, and that we had went with the most advanced cameras that ADT offered. So Casey updated the system and we were assured that going forward the system issues would be resolved. Nothing ever changed. We just went on wasting time. The cameras randomly not video recording. We waited until the end of the year to try find a solution, but nothing changes. We never received a Termination letter.
4.) 3-11-2026: Called to discuss the reason for my cancellation and after going through several prompts and after spending over 10 minutes with the automated system I spoke with a representative informing me that I would need to call another number since I have an IMFORMIX. I called the number that I was given and the automated system that picked up the call and recognized that I had just called, so the agent sent me back to the original number I had called.
On this same day, I contacted our original account manager Casey **, and he actually quit the company because he could not deal morally with the way customers are treated. He stated that his manager had actually quit also, so he gave us the number to the new regional managers to contact. We are tired of wasting time and getting nowhere with this company, so we are hoping that you can help us recover our service costs with this company as we have gone elsewhere. I’ve been a customer since 2/99. They want to charge me 160.00 for a tech to come and replace the battery. My outside camera not working and they only have a technician to come fix that Monday-Friday. I work! No customer care or loyalty. They don’t care.

I recently upgraded my doorbell/camera to the latest version and had ADT do the installation. They sent Cody and he was a total pro. He checked in when he was on the way, got here right on time, switched the units out, and got us up and running. We appreciated his professionalism very much and answered every question we had. ADT acquired Protection One, the company I was with and it’s been nine years that I’ve been with them. I never knew that the smoke detectors expire and stop working after seven years, and their warranty is five years. I couldn't deactivate the smoke detectors without beeping, so I had to call ADT or pay to replace the smoke detectors. Their techs had to remove the smoke detectors from the system monitoring and disable them. In order to upgrade the whole system, ADT wanted $1,200. But other than the issue with the smoke detectors, it's been satisfactory. There was a couple of false alarms and the reps called right away, especially when a smoke alarm went off.
The customer service was excellent once I got through to someone who spoke English, especially the tech people who tried hard to fix the issue over the phone. They then scheduled a technician who had me check the system and walk through the process instead of sending someone to the house, which saved me. Overall, my experience with ADT has been good. The price is a little high for what they provide, and it could be better. Also, before somebody switches, they should know that the equipment is only good for five years and you have to update the system within so many years. They usually don't tell you this because other people will change their minds.

I've been with ADT since 1998. My parents had ADT at one time and that's who I went with. Anytime I've gone anywhere, I've just checked them. Then, when I rented a property, I did the ADT Blue instead of the regular. I feel comfortable with them. Whenever I've called for assistance, they've been proactive and contacted me back and they have walked me through the system to reset stuff. Sometimes, when you have a good thing, you just never think about changing it.
When our electricity would go out, I'd have to reboot stuff, and the representative would stay online with me and allow me to follow through all the steps, and everybody's been helpful. When we had it installed, the guy was great. He went over everything. There were some things that he could not do because we had the thermostat, but they couldn't install that after they found out because the type of system we had and the thermostat weren’t compatible. But other than that, the guy was great. We have motion detectors, and everything seems to have been fine, along with the smoke detector. It's overall been a great experience.

ADT gives you a sense of security and I’ve stayed with them for eight years. I feel comfortable with it. We added the front doorbell camera and I like it. One time, there might have been a power surge and the system stopped working. So, we upgraded to the newer wall panel, which is a touchscreen, and it works just fine.

For the most part, my experience with ADT has been good and positive. I’ve had ADT for eight years now, and when I have issues, customer service can usually get them handled and taken care of quickly. People should sign up if they’re looking for somebody. When I was having issues before, I had a very outdated system, and they came by a few years ago and installed an updated keypad. It’s not the new high-tech ones they have now, but it wasn’t from the 1980s like I had before. Right now, I have some outdated sensors in my home that are affecting my Pulse app, telling me things are open when they’re not. I need to call and have that updated.
All of the people who have come out have been good, but not all of them work directly for ADT. Some are contractors, so it has taken a little longer to get things handled. One contractor installed sensors and may have changed the sensitivity, because the alarms were going off in the middle of the night and scaring my child and me. After that, someone from ADT came out and fixed it and corrected it.

Do not get ADT. Their window sensors do not work. I have to routinely reset the system to be able to set up my alarm. Worst investment I’ve ever made. The other thing is that they tied you up to a long term contract but they don’t tell you that. They tell you how much you are supposed to save.

In 2023 my wife and I purchased a home and took up payments on the prior tenants' ADT equipment 'cause they was in the new house only months. The day the tech came out to hook up the system he went downstairs and stayed a long time. When he came back he told me he couldn’t locate a couple of the smoke detectors and that the prior tenants must had taken them. We paid a lot extra to replace them. Several months later my wife told me there were two detectors in one closet upstairs and two more in a closet downstairs. When he took them down he couldn’t bring them up 'cause I was there. He mounted them on the wall in the closets and then sold me more to up his commission. The ones he put up were less than ten feet in both spots apart from the ones in the closets.
We have been dealing with ADT three years and during that time they never called to see why the alarms went off and they went off several times in three years. As soon as we told them we were going to cancel they call now every day talking about something owed, equipment will not work 'cause they fix it like that once you prepare to leave. The pad cameras or nothing work since we told them over four months. I am in process with Lawyers with pictures, recordings and all. Then they respond by telling you to email them somewhere else, they know the case. Where you see the detectors on the pictures the others he put up are right in the open door, that close. Will only let you take one picture. Foul.

I've had ADT since 2008 at my starter home. Now, I don't have that home anymore. But even at my new home, I didn't think twice. They transferred my service over, and I didn't have any issues with it. One time, I was out of the country, and my alarm tripped. I was able to get the notification through my cell phone. We were able to get it all resolved and get the authorities over there. What happened was it wasn't even an intruder or anything like that. It was just that my daughter didn't close the door properly or fully. But the response time was good, and I appreciate it. Everything was okay.
However, one time, we had a couple of back-and-forths. They tried to resolve things over the phone, but eventually, they had to send a physical technician out to resolve things. But I still would recommend ADT to a friend.

We've been with ADT for 13 years now, and our experience has been very good. They've been doing their job. Anytime I've had to reach out, everything has been pleasant. The system has worked well. It's been sensitive like it should be and has set off alarms as it should, and we've been notified by the monitoring team, and everything's worked out well. I've been pleased with it because it's not been a problem system. I would recommend ADT.

I bought a brand new house 30 years ago and I put an ADT system in. Their customer service has been fine. The new package that we upgraded to is very good as well. I had an old system that when I changed my doors, I had to upgrade ‘cause I couldn't put nails in my doors.

I didn't have an alarm system and someone broke into my house. It’s been a long time since I went with ADT and the communication with them has been good. I called them about a battery and they sent me one after I paid for it. The alarm lets me know if someone is coming in, and which door it is. The ADT system works and I feel safe. I’m just waiting on them to put the cameras in. I still have the old DSL line and the cameras will be slow and eat up all my data. So, I’m waiting for the fiber optic to be available in my area.

We've had ADT a long time. We've updated the system not too long ago, and the experience was very nice. They were very good. I was surprised at how much it cost though. They could lower it a little bit for a widow. Other than that, I'm very happy with ADT and I wouldn't trade them for anything. I would recommend them to the friends as well.

My roommate had ADT before, so she wanted it again. Somebody tried to get in in the middle of the night, and we had to call the police. We didn't have ADT at that time of the incident. We got it directly afterwards. Doing business with ADT has been good.

My daughter had ADT and she was happy with it, which was why we got it. The rep came over to our house and we talked about it, and he installed the system. He was very efficient. It’s been a few years and we've been pleased with ADT. Anytime we’ve called them because our system has done something funky, their reps have helped us through everything and gotten it back to working properly. They answer our questions if we have any. The police have come over because our alarm has gone off, but not because there was something wrong with it. It was because we took too long to turn it off. People should get ADT and be happy with it.

ADT has been reliable, responsive, and easy to work with. The installation was easy. They did exactly what we asked and we got exactly what we wanted. The price was good. Also, ADT has always been responsive when we've called to have help with different issues, either resetting the alarm or helping us walk through some of the mechanics, like how to replace batteries on some of the devices. Two weeks ago, we got back from vacation and the batteries on our front door lock with the key code on it where you have to punch in the numbers were low. We didn't know how to replace the batteries, so we called in, and ADT walked us through how to replace them. On some of the situations we've come across, we didn't have a handbook to help us walk through troubleshooting. We've always had to pick up the phone and call somebody.

We were with Brinks before ADT bought them out, which makes it 20 years that we’ve been their customer. It’s been fine dealing with the reps. All we have is the standard alarms on the doors but they changed the panel one time. The system is working the way it's supposed to.

My neighbor has ADT and I looked into it and I liked the rate. I decided to go with them in August 2025 and I have monitoring on all the windows and doors. I have an alarm if I go out or stay in. People should get the system from ADT.

Updated on 04/26/2026: Contracting ADT for security is one of the worst homeowner mistakes I made. This is my second time writing a review because after the first I was contacted by ADT, and they made it sound like they really wanted to solve the problems with my security system (cameras going offline). However, after telling me they couldn't schedule a technician to come to my home on the weekend when I would be available, they actually scheduled a technician visit for between 12noon and 4:00 pm, but the technician didn't show up. When I was about to leave home at approximately 4:44 pm, I received an email stating that the technician was on his way. My experience with ADT has made me wish that I had never contracted with them. I won't make the same mistake twice.
Original: ADT is a big disappointment to me, and I wouldn’t make the same choice again. Repeated problems with the system going offline, and no solutions from ADT that doesn’t cost me more money. In other words, the system going offline places my family’s security at risk. However, when I complain about a camera not operating for days, there are no solutions offered to solve the problem, and I was told that my WiFi was the problem; even after I purchased a WiFi booster. When I suggested that ADT install a new camera, I was told that I had to purchase the camera. So, I end up paying for a service that I don’t have. Getting the ADT security system, has been one of the worst homeowner decisions I made. I won’t ever do it again.

My siblings got ADT and have nothing but good things to say. I decided to go with ADT because of that and I’ve been with them for nine years. My system works good. Sometimes I set off my system when I cook, and the response time is great. I like the peace of mind that I'm armed and knowing that if I move, my equipment goes with me, since it was quite pricey. As far as functionality and promptness, I feel secure in my home. The only thing is that my bill went from 30 a month to 42. I called a couple of months ago, and the rep said nothing had changed with the cost, so I don’t understand why my bill is going up when nothing has changed and I own the equipment. I would like the bill to go back to what it was.

I'm happy with ADT. They've been excellent and have always answered my questions. If I need trouble support, they'll send somebody. They've mostly gone more to on call now and they walk through things and use your phones to remotely check in when you're trying to repair something. They've evolved with the technology and I'm okay with it as long as I know that I have the recourse to be able to have a technician come over if there's a real big problem.
A lot of people like to go with the do-it-yourself things at home now with Ring but it's nice to have the monitoring capability ADT provides. My system has been in my house now for over 20 years and it's very stable. I haven't upgraded my system and I haven't asked for any enhanced service capabilities. The thing I've had with ADT is the rates will keep going up and I'll call them and ask why they are raising my rates, that they're basically monitoring nothing at this point. If it keeps going up, then I would have to reconsider. Also, their app doesn't really work really well. You have to log into things.

When Protection 1 changed over to ADT, we changed equipment too. ADT's customer service has been fine. As matter of fact, I just had them out not too long ago because I ended up changing around my garage and I cut the power cord. It's a battery backup that has got power. A gentleman came out to service for me and fix me up. ADT is also very fair on the price. I have a system at my work. It’s a little cheaper, but it has less features. Overall, we've had a good experience with ADT and I'd recommend them.

If there was a zero I would check that. They are the worst team I have ever dealt with. We had ADT installed January 19th. The installer came to our house and the first thing he said was “I don’t work on commission - we never asked him that question. Then he brought in a load of equipment that we would need. When I spoke to the woman when I decided to go with ADT and we talked about our needs we came up with a doable price, but our installer said she didn’t know what she was talking about. By February 20th we had problems with the batteries that were supply to have a shelf life of 10 yrs per our installer.
The installer that sold us all the equipment (some of which we didn’t need and he also placed the smoke detectors by our other smoke detectors from another company) gave me his phone number to call if we had any problems at all. So I called him in February to tell him about the 3 dead batteries he first said that will ruin my numbers or something like that. Anyway he told me to call ADT and not him for any problems. We’ve had problems in March25th, March 30th and now today March 31st. I’ve talked to them each time and got different answers each time as if no one knew what they were talking about. They are a HORRIBLE COMPANY. I’m so sorry we are stuck with them. I consider it the worst decision I’ve ever made.
If you are thinking about going with them - think again. When the batteries no longer worked I was told by at least 5 different employees the battery life was 10yrs, 5 yrs, 6 months, 60 days, and 30 days. You can’t get a reliable answer from anyone. I’ve spoken to account management a few times - they are no help - again I got different answers. If I could I would cancel this agreement but it costs too much. So we are STUCK with them.

They put somebody in to speak Spanish. I use the system and activate it when I go out but I hardly use it because I often stay in the house.

The ADT system has worked the way it's intended to work. But the box that I have could be a better box. But that's the one that was put in. So, I don't want to have to pay for any upgrades. I've had ADT for over 20 years and now, the battery situation is different from before. It's off of a tower. We like ADT. We've been with them for 10 years and we’re satisfied with them. They've always done good. Whenever we need anything, I call them. I called about our yard sign. If the wind blows, it breaks it in half and they sent it to me, so everything's good. ADT suits our needs and does well. We have cameras outside and in the house. The price was good, but we wish everything was cheaper. Other than that, I recommended it to my daughter and she got it.

Please do not use this company. When you setup your appointment they will quote you free installation but then charge you $400 more than the quote during installation....after they have cut wires from previous systems. Additionally, they will tell you fire and smoke monitoring can be poivided through existing systems. This is not true either. Also, five days in with our equipment and the doorbell camera isn't working properly. Totally lied to me and I never would have agreed to the price up front that I ended up paying. I would give negative stars if I could.

I had my system for many years and had to do an upgrade about 4 years ago. They put me into a long term contract but when they system failed and they couldn’t fix it, they charged me for the remainder of years on the contract. They said my only choice was to upgrade at an estimated cost of $4,500 and after all that I had just spent I declined but they continued to bill me every month and harass me for money even though their system was not usable and not repairable! Would never recommend them! Good luck canceling when it doesn’t work!

From the day my system was "installed," it wasn't working properly. When I told the install technician, he told me to call support. A year later, I am still experiencing issues with the system, and EVERY call is at least an hour with multiple transfers and sometimes disconnects. Everyone with whom I speak is very polite, but absolutely useless in getting the system issues resolved. I tried to cancel the contract since it took more than two weeks for it to be fully installed and was told that I'd have to pay out the balance of the contract, which equated to a few thousand dollars. The last technician who came asked me if I requested the system I have because it's inadequate for my home and the area in which my home is (large, urban). He said that it's best for small, suburban, quieter areas. Yet another reason for me to be further disgusted with them. So from day 1, ADT has been a cataclysmic disappointment. Don't believe me, though--ask your neighbor.

I had Alder at one time and then I switched over to ADT. I’ve seen it online and heard about it on TV as well. All went well with the installers and I’ve been with ADT for a little over a year. When I called them due to a monitor on the door that fell off, dealing with the rep was good. Everybody is professional and polite, and it’s an overall good experience.

The ADT system is very easy to use and I like it very much. It's very accurate and hasn't failed me. Dealing with the rep has always been positive. I called them to update my phone number and email address and inform them that my husband had passed. So it was just bringing my profile up to date. The installers were efficient when they installed the system six and a half years ago. Any time I had a question, they were able to answer it and help me out. I have sensors on all the windows and doors. I know how to set and unset the alarm. If I walk out without unsetting it, it'll buzz and alert me. It’s tied into the police department. One time, I set it and went for a walk. I didn’t hear the alarm inside the house, and when I got back, there was a police car in my house. That was not good, but it was good that I saw that the system works. It meets my expectations perfectly. I'm very satisfied with ADT’s service.

I heard good things about ADT and decided to get the security system. They had been out for a longer time and were a better business. I've had it for years and I like it. We have to call them sometimes if we have a problem and they used to come over. But now, they try to walk you through it over the phone. So, they’ve been good. I put this ADT on because I feel comfortable knowing that I feel my house is protected and every time I leave home. I turn the system on. I would recommend ADT over anybody else. This review is regarding ADT security losing a loyal customer they had for 10 yrs. I had a scheduled appointment for 3/27/26 that was rescheduled to 3/28/26 due to ADT not having any technicians in the area. The technician they was scheduled for 3/28/26 between 8am and noon never showed up and they gave me 2 different excuses. Since then, I have cancelled my service with ADT and I am now with Vivint Security.

They also came out once after installation because one of the cameras, the power wire broke, so they had to fix that. Then, there were two technicians and one of them fell through the ceiling in my garage. I had to arrange to have that fixed. But they paid for it. I also got a deadbolt that opens and closes. And every once in a while, it'll open by itself. It'll unlock itself.

The systems and prices are changing, which prompted us to switch to ADT. They had good service, though there’s a charge if somebody comes out. But that’s inflation. The pricing is good. Other people pay a little bit more. If anything goes wrong, like the alarm system, ADT will contact you to check if everything is okay. I had an upgrade on my doorbell and there are two more sensors upstairs on second floor windows. A couple of years ago, they upgraded my panel. Then, they suggested a digital screen instead of a push-button one. If somebody comes to the door or rings the doorbell, everything comes to my phone. One time, I had an emergency, but it turned out it was just my cat. He was locked in the bedroom and ended up messing with the mini blinds, which set the alarm off. ADT called us and said it was a break-in, and the police came out, but we didn’t get charged. Everything got resolved, so that was good.

Giving a 2-star rating only because I feel responsible for agreeing to this mess. My rational mind would have said NO! The day the tech/sales person came out was hectic, as we had just taken possession of our new home, and other workers and family had all just arrived to see the house. The previous owners had ADT, so we thought we would just be starting a service, NOT having to buy all the equipment (for 5 years).
Previously we used Ring, and to me that was MUCH easier to use, more intuitive, and familiar. After about 10-12 DAYS, I’m wanting to pitch this and go back to Ring. Can’t do without paying out the contract and equipment, to the tune of over $6K. Freaking crazy — I thought I would have 30 days to get used to this new program and equipment, but instead there was only a 3 day window (which I did not know but should have asked!). I really hate this product and system. I’ll begrudgingly keep it instead of paying for this insane cancellation, but I’m hoping others will read this and re-think their decision.

The only issue is the price and how they structure the stuff, where if you're not electronically savvy, you're at a disadvantage, because somebody got to come out, and for somebody to come out, you got to pay because they want to do everything online. My experience with ADT has been going good in the five years that I've been with them. The reps got things handled, whether it be major or minor, and everything went correctly, and I was satisfied. The installers answered all my questions when they hooked the system up, and it’s been going well. The package that I have meets the expectations because my price is still the same. I like that. It never varies. When I go online, the reps try to convince me to upgrade and if I say no, it’s not a problem. If I say yes, they’ll get right to it. But right now, money is tight and I'm not trying to upgrade anything. My alarm went off when I wasn’t at the house, and I asked the reps what they were seeing on the camera. They told me what was going on inside my house. So, it made me feel a little bit safe. ADT protects me. They are always on call when I need them and handle the situation professionally.

I’ve had ADT for years and years and I can’t remember when I didn’t have them. I felt like it would be a good system for us and would work well. I accidentally set it off yesterday, and I could not hear the alarm in the backyard where I went. I need to call ADT about that, but it usually works great. The customer service is very responsive. I like it most that if a motion detector is not working, it notifies me where the problem is, such as if it needs a battery. Changing the batteries in the motion detectors is okay but some can be very difficult, like those in the doors in the basement. Sometimes, I have to ask my maintenance man to do it.

The system that I have with ADT is adequate. However, ADT has not been the best. They continually mess up my billing in my method of payments. Also, when the doorbell camera was installed, the guy did it wrong, and I had them come back. They wanted to charge me 300-some dollars.

I’ve been with ADT since 2023 and with no issues, I own the equipment that came with the special but once my contract ended for monitoring they made it impossible to control equipment that I own that’s attached to my home! Making things extremely difficult for me and my disabled veteran husband!! I thought this was a good thing, it’s now a nightmare!

ADT is a very good company. I used to own a business, and I used them a long time ago. I've been with them for years and I like them. The only thing is I don't get the bill on time. I don't know if it's the mail or ADT. I called them one time to make a payment, because they never send me the bill. So, I called them to make sure everything was okay and the lady was very nice, polite, and she took my payment on the phone. I'm gonna call them again sometime because I want them to come and upgrade our system. We enclosed the porch and I would like somebody to come and put one more sensor maybe on the door. All in all, ADT is the best.

My ADT service package has been okay. I have the CO2 detector. I have the sensors for the doors. I have cameras outside and motion sensors. The ADT representatives have been good. A few times, I've opened the door when the alarm was set, and I usually get to it before they even call me back because I'm right across the floor. But when I don't, they're always nice. They asked for the code word, which I like.

Having ADT helps me feel safe. I have coverage for the necklace. My mother was living here for a while. Bunch of grandchildren got ahold of the button and pushed it. The next thing I knew, the ambulance was here at my house and I had to pay $100 for it.

ADT calls me when things go wrong. I like that. However, my alarm malfunctions a lot. It starts going off, then it doesn't work. I have to turn it off. I can't set my alarm. I called ADT. I got a representative, but they couldn't fix my alarm. They couldn't seem to get it going. They tried to walk me through it and try to fix it from their end. I've been without an alarm for almost two weeks at one time. I didn't get anything off on the two weeks that I was without an alarm. I wasn't happy about that. Also, my fire alarm went out, but ADT didn't replace it. They wanted to charge me. It was not right of them to have to charge me for something. They wanted me to get a new system, but they wanted to charge me too. I said, “No. I don't think I should have to pay.” I've been a customer for a lot of years. I went through four alarm people already, that was sold out too, from the beginning. With the way things have been going, I wouldn't often suggest ADT.

I’ve been with ADT on and off for a while, but this time, I’ve been with them since February 2020. I like the chimes and things for the doors, though I don’t necessarily need cameras. Dealing with the reps was very good. I've just ordered batteries and things like that that I run out of, and I've had my alarm go off one time because I had new windows, and they called me.

ADT is the most screwed up company ever dealt with. You cannot talk to a human and if you are able to, all they want is your name, password, everything about your company before they will do anything. Then they put you on hold to get you to the that handles that problem???? Then the next person gets on the phone and ask the same exact questions again.... You can't make this up!!!! 2 weeks my alarm system has not worked. They will not send a person to fix. They want me to fix.... but they will debit your account same day every month for NO SERVICE!

If I could I would give them 0 stars. They are some of the biggest crooks out here. I would never ever go the again. They are hard to cancel. I been trying to cancel for 4 months. I’m still getting bills. They tell you one thing and do something else. They will rip you off!

ADT has provided the worst service I’ve ever experienced. It’s unbelievable that I’ve been calling every single day since March 13, spending hours on the phone, and still no one has been able to resolve my issues. This level of inefficiency is unacceptable. Once my contract ends, I will NEVER do business with this company again.

When we built our house, we contacted ADT to put the alarm in and that was in 2013. But we also had it before in our business years before that. Dealing with the rep and the installation was both fine, and everybody was nice. I'm very satisfied with everything. If others want to get an alarm, ADT would be my choice.

I'm happy with ADT. I don't call ADT's customer service often. But when I do, they're always very polite and they answer my questions. One time we went downtown for New Year's Eve. I always turn the ringer off because I want it to ring at 2 o'clock in the morning. Unless it's a number that is in my favorite, just my kids, because they live in Austin. We ended up getting a phone call, but we didn't know that. I saw these messages. ADT called my daughter. She got through and said, “Hey there. Your alarm went off.” There was a little spider on the motion sensor, inside of it or behind it, that activated it. The sheriff came out, looked at the front and the back. There was nothing wrong. That little spider was a pain. They came and checked out the sensor to make sure. There was a little something also wrong with it, so they replaced it.

ADT is one of the better-known security services and they provide good service. I’ve been with them for 30 years and it’s easy to communicate with them. I like that ADT protects my building and provides a sense of security. My only complaint is that if there is an issue, they'll make us try to fix a problem virtually and when it can't be fixed, they'll send a service representative out, but not that day. It takes a couple of days, so our building can go unprotected for a few days. I want them to come and fix it. I don't work for ADT and I don't want to fix it.

It was a good experience and we're satisfied with the system as it is. It’s appropriate for our home, and we feel rather secure with what we’re utilizing at the present time.

This has dragged on for over a month...seven people involved, three visits, and the “solution” is exposed wiring. That’s not professional and not acceptable for a non-working life-safety system. Escalate now and fix it correctly.

Warning to anyone considering ADT: their cancellation process is deliberately designed to prevent you from cancelling. I called on Saturday to cancel. The rep could offer me discounts, upgrades, and "anything else we can do" — but not cancellation. I called back Monday. Ten minutes with one representative, another 8 minutes on hold, and then ten minutes of counteroffers and upsells later, I was told my account would cancel in 30 days.
My billing date is in three days. So they're charging me for a full month that falls almost entirely inside their own cancellation window — after I first tried to cancel six days before billing. Oh, and they bill in advance, not in arrears, so there's no justification for extending the window. I've filed an FTC complaint and a credit card chargeback. ADT's retention tactics are textbook coercive obstruction. The rep who can give you a discount but can't cancel your account isn't having a bad day. That's policy. Sign up knowing you may not be able to leave. And that you'll be getting in bed with a company that does not prioritize customer service if it costs them money.

We signed up with ADT a long time ago and we only interact with the reps when there is a technical issue or if we need to upgrade sensors. But dealing with them was perfectly fine. The package that we have is as expected and when it was upgraded within the last two years, the experience was good, seamless and easy.

I was a policeman for 28 years, and ADT seemed to be the top-of-the-line security system for our house. I have two houses with ADT and they upgraded my control panel to both houses a couple of years ago. I was going to call and have them talk to me about installing surveillance cameras at one of my houses. I had them come out and do it at one of my houses, and now, I want to do it at the other. I spend months away from each house. I'm in the house now that doesn't have them. I can monitor my other house through the surveillance cameras on a minute-by-minute basis. However, I have a lot of problems with the motion detector of one of the houses. The battery keeps going out then it sets off the alarm so I just turned it off. Also, the price keeps going up and up.

I've been with ADT for eight years and it has been reliable. I'm okay with it. There have been a couple of times I came in the house, and I didn't turn the alarm off right away. ADT called me, wanting to know if there was something wrong. All I recently did was change my billing method. Everything went smoothly. Until they call and tell me they wanna raise my prices, then we got a problem.

Everybody at ADT has been very nice. However, it's just a pain in the butt to get a hold of somebody who can answer our question. Most of the time, the number that you can find is the sales line, and they don't help you.
I never had an issue, except they called me to tell me that the water alarm was going off, and it was, but we were out of power. And the water in the sump hole got up onto the alarm. When they found out what was going on with it, the rep said, “I will disable it for 24 hours.” And after 24 hours, it went back to work, and I had power back.
The system has been very good, but I wish they would use Blink cameras. I have Blink cameras and they don't know it and don't want to know it. I use my Blink cameras, but it is not incorporated into the ADT system. But it's been a very good experience with ADT.

I am very disappointed with ADT. We got our system put in on a Saturday. When the tech left, there were several things not either working or done. Reached out to ADT customer service the very next day. We were supposed to have a tech come out on Monday. Called back on Monday only to find out there was no one coming. We were basically put off on getting anything fixed until the middle of April. We have a new service that is only working half way. Called them today, again to no avail. No one coming until the middle of April because of no tech being in the area but only on Fridays. I honestly don’t know how you all stay in business. The way you respond to problems is absolutely absurd. No customer should have to go through this. We canceled our service and would never recommend your service to anyone. You all need to get it together!!!

I feel more secure having ADT. I got it after my husband died because I live alone. I'm completely happy with the service package I got. Not too long ago, my daughter came in and stayed all night. She lives a few hours away and she goes around to several schools. When she left that morning, she reset the alarm and she set it wrong. So, when I got up that morning and started down the stairs, the alarm went off and it terrified me. She set the camera for "away". It detected me coming down the stairs. So, I knew for a fact that that worked, and that made me feel good. The police were here looking at my windows and everything trying to find me, if I had fallen. I'm really happy with it. It's worth every penny I pay for it.
I would give them the highest rating all around. I have mentioned it to my friends. I couldn't lay down here and go to sleep at night if I didn't have ADT. I always make sure that I have it set. I had to call them one time. I had a refrigerator delivered and the truck backed up and hit the ADT sign that I keep in my yard. That sign makes me feel good, too. When I called to have them send me another sign, they did send me another sign. I've got one in the front by my steps and I've got one in the back of my house. I've also got stickers on about all my windows and in my doors because I'm proud that I've got ADT.

I had a couple service calls and the ADT guys came out to do their thing. They were pretty good. So far, the system does what I expected it to do. It came with everything I needed. I have the doors alarm and the motion detectors, which are pretty much all I need. I've had a couple of alarms, and they called me right away. I had a break-in about 20 years ago. I was down the Keys and they had the police there. They called me, told me what to do, and I did it. I live on the country, so I don't live in the neighborhood. I have a neighbor to the south of me, and my next neighbor is eight miles away. There are neighborhoods around here, but we're an agricultural area.
ADT did their job and I followed their direction when they needed me to do something. A couple of times, the clock would go warry on my fixed clock or FC. I call and they try to give me the codes. If anything, I’d like to have a little manual on how to do that stuff myself. Other than that, the service never fails and I would recommend them. The price is reasonable. They electronically send me the bill and it goes on my online billing file that I have with the bank.

The guy, when I placed the order, told me everything about ADT. He was really good. He was sweet and nice. I'm 69 years old. He did a video. So, I could show my daughter and granddaughter how to do it. I live by myself. I got the one that I can open the door from the phone. I'm learning every day. I'm finding something new about it every day. The main thing was I can't get up to the door when people will come. I have keys, my kids had keys, and my brother had keys.

ADT came door-to-door in the neighborhood and a few people might have had it, which was how I came to know about it. I'm new here from another state, and I’ve only had it for about a month. The sales rep was wonderful. Some of these younger generation children are respectful and very polite, as if you've known them for a while. It was a pleasure just talking with the gentleman. The installers also did good. They cleaned up after themselves, put everything back, and you could hardly tell they had been there. They didn’t bother you, just did their job and left anything behind.
I chose ADT for the price. It’s reasonable and the system serves its purpose just as well as the higher dollar ones. If the alarm goes off and the window is open or somebody opens the door, you have time to dial your phone. The package that I have is good, pleasant, and works fine. I don’t have the alarm on right now because we had an issue with the door before, where it got stuck and we couldn’t turn the key. Now we have a new door, but my daughter is in and out, and she has a disability and illness, so I don’t want to keep setting the alarm off. I’m still keeping it, though, because it reminds me if I left a window open at night, and I like that. It makes me feel good having the system and I’m happy with it.

Worst customer service I have ever had. Zero support on equipment, batteries.... Unless you want to pay way too much. To cancel service, it takes more than an hour of your time while they beg you to stay with bigger and bigger discounts. If you could discount your service so low, then why is the cost so high? Run away as fast as you can.

Extremely dissatisfied with ADT customer service. They’re charging me for service I cancelled and post contract expiration date, which is very unfair. Also got conflicting information from different customer service folks. I had to repeat same info 7 times to be able to cancel service. Overall very frustrating experience. I would not recommend this service.

These people are a joke! This system has never worked correctly and effectively since installed in my home. Please don’t get them. After several missed appointments, backing out at the last minute to come correct this piece of junk, the agent Brad on the phone gets smart with me about rescheduling once again and not canceling this account. Then tells me that I will be charged $5000 because of early cancellation. I will put them on the national news about. I explained to him more than one time that I have taken off work.

I brought ADT here from my last address and I've been with them for over 15 years. I'm old and I like going to familiar things and they were familiar to me. Right now, all my cameras are not up because I gotta program them myself and I don’t care for that. But that's the way of the world. So eventually, I'll get all my cameras online.
Things changed a little bit for me when ADT partnered with Google, but I’m okay. Technology has changed things over the years, but I'm satisfied. Sometimes I don't know whether to go with the Google product or with my ADT. It’s confusing because I have ADT cameras and I have Google Fiber, then I have a Google doorbell, which is really ADT's doorbell. So that’s challenging for me. I was told I need to update my cameras and that they’re outdated because my Google Fiber just updated, but some of my cameras are working. So, I possibly do not need to update my cameras. But that's where the confusion comes in right there. That's one of the crazy things about my cameras.
We used to be gone eight months out of the year, and we would come home at different times. I realized my wife would turn the alarm on for Stay when I wasn’t there, and I felt it was because of a fear factor. It concerned me. When she said she wanted a camera on the front door before I left, I told her that if we were putting one on the front door, I might as well put them all the way around the house. But after I put all the cameras up, she questioned why I was putting so many.

My husband had the ADT system put in 20 years ago, and I heard about it because it was still here. We had to get the house rewired and a whole new system was put in about two years ago. The person I dealt with was nice. The installation went perfectly. I like everything the way it is. The doors, the alarms, and the new keypad work well. The package 100% meet my expectations. When I had a choking emergency, I pushed the button and it contacted the local fire department. ADT has a great security system and it’s easy to use and does the job.

ADT is the best. I've been with them since 1992. I have the basic alarm and then the smoke detectors, and the doors and motion sensors. The alarm went off one day, and when I looked outside, the police was out there. Because I didn't answer them right away, they sent the cops right away. ADT is the best security to have for your property, your home, and your family.

I had Alder and it got sold to ADT. ADT's reps were very helpful. They explained everything. So, it was a smooth transition. It's better once we got them as far as communication. I liked ADT. The stuff that I had had gotten close to outdated whenever they switched, and we were in the process of selling the house anyway. We had ADT for about a little over a year and we sold the house. When we did that, we moved out into the country, and that was why we didn't pick it back up because my brother-in-law has cameras everywhere. We really didn't need any more security, but ADT was good when we had them. While we had it, they were very helpful with everything even with us doing the cancellation. I had three months left on my contract and they helped me clear that out and made sure everything was finalized.
We had a couple of calls when we were still using ADT. We had a sunroom, and so all we had were glass break sensors. We didn't have an alarm on anything, but they set it off and it was late at night. We were on our way back home and the police came. We wound up beating the cop there in town. We didn't know if it was fire or somebody broke in and I was worried about my dog. I was more worried about her hurting somebody than somebody hurting her or getting out. ADT was spot-on when it went off. I'd recommend ADT. They were really great with everything. There were a couple of times where I set the system off myself, but they always were right there to make sure it was nothing.

I am not able to sign in my Bluebyadt account. I have spoke with technical support three different times each time over 1 hour. The second time I was told a new account would be set up in 72 hours. Two weeks later it has still not been set up. On the 3rd call the representative said she would call back in 1/2 hour. It has been a week and still no return call. Do not use this company. They are awful. This should have been fixed within in a few minutes.

The first one that installed ours years ago was a young woman, and that is all we've had. She was very good and helpful. It was smooth. Our little fob that we can take with us has an emergency on there. It has the key that you can turn off your alarm. That's very helpful. I've had my smoke alarm go off a couple of times when I was cooking. ADT would call and make sure that we were okay, and that's a nice feature, too. Also, they've been easy to get ahold of on the phone. We're very satisfied.

I heard about ADT through my insurance, and by the time I decided to change companies, the incentive that I had noticed was no longer there. I picked up medicine from a neighbor because they delivered to her house while she was working, and I know she switched from Vivint to ADT. There had to be a reason for that. I made a call and talked to several people at ADT, and that's how I changed. The first guy I talked to told me how much I would pay a month, but that wasn't true, because I had to pay for equipment as well, which they didn't mention. I expected to pay $50 a month, but I pay almost $100 a month instead. The cost is higher than what it's planned on, but I can manage that.
The installer was very helpful. We were having issues because I had a lamp in my living room that Vivint had a little thing on to turn my lights on at night. The installer said, “I’ll check and see what I can do,” and that can happen. But I went to Wally World and discovered that they make bulbs that are compatible. I plugged that in, and it worked. Go with ADT and don't waste your time with Vivint.

Over a month now to get the doorbell camera working. They came Thursday march 19, spent 4 hours. 2 technicians couldn’t get it to work. Told me sorry you have to upgrade to a google camera at a cost of $280. Don’t think so. Get this one working. Customer service dropped out after 30 minutes on hold.

I have had service with ADT for over four years, but since moving my service to a new address two years ago, it has been an absolute nightmare. First, they try to force you to sign up for automatic payments, threatening to cancel your service if you don't. Furthermore, they quote you a monthly fee that supposedly covers both the equipment costs and the monthly service charges bundled into a single payment. Then, they cut off your service; when you call to inquire, they tell you that you haven't been paying for the equipment—leaving you with a balance of $4,000.
They transfer you between different departments, and you spend two hours on the phone, talking endlessly with various supervisors. Eventually, they acknowledge that the error lies with ADT—that they failed to split the payments correctly. They find a solution, you supposedly resolve the issue, yet time and again—every single time you call—the same error recurs.
There is never a lasting solution, and the outstanding balance keeps climbing; it has now reached $7,000. I want to cancel my service immediately, as I have been locked in this battle with this company for two years—dealing with technicians, supervisors, and two-hour phone calls every single month. I have had enough. And the customer service is just as bad—the representatives are incredibly rude and disrespectful toward customers. They accuse you of lying, and absolutely no one does their job. My payment history is excellent—I have never made a late payment and have never offered excuses—yet this is the worst service imaginable. They are thieves who constantly demand more and more money; they deceive their customers, and no one ever resolves a thing.

They don't tell you the cost of equipment up front. Told the technician that we had cats that stayed in all the time, so we didn't want a motion sensor, he put it in anyway and now we had to disconnect it and don't use it, but still paying for it. The system stays offline more than on. We have had nothing but issues from the first week. I would steer clear of ADT, it's a waste of your money. Oh can't leave a receipt because it was done digitally and I don't have a printer.

We've had ADT for 10 months. We had them up north and we had good experience with them. We needed a security system when we lived up in Massachusetts and now, we went with them again. They were a very good service that we had. Their reps explained everything, all the new features they have and the new equipment, and the installation. The installers were very good. They did everything we needed them to do. Overall, everything works the way it's supposed to and I have no problems with it.

ADT is security and it works. I've been with them since they bought out Protection 1, the other company I was with for the last 30 years. I knew about ADT systems, but it wasn't something that I looked into because I already had a security company. Since ADT took over, everything has been working fine and I've never had to call or interact with anybody.

Once service was installed, not once during our 3 year contract did we receive a courtesy call to check if we were happy with our system or to see if it was running smoothly. Payments were deducted regulary though. After our old system started malfunctioning which caused repeated false alarms, we called to get help with troubleshooting and were told to replace batteries and to log on to our portal to see which batteries we needed. Service tech even said we could request some from ADT but that for faster resolution to the repeated false alarms, we'd be better off buying them ourselves, as ADT's request to send batteries would take too long.
We continued to have issues with our old equipment and regular false alarms (as well as trouble with the less than helpful customer service ADT provided each time I called) and I considered canceling service altogether but to avoid lapses in security and to avoid the false alarms, made the decision to upgrade, renewing a contract which included installments for the new equipment. In short, the installment plan was ignored and we were charged the full amount for the new equipment, plus installation, plus service.
When we tried to get a refund, were given the run around by customer service which seems to be outsourced and inefficient at giving resolutions other than the recommendation, "Your request is being reviewed, call back in 3-5 business days." Each time we called after 3-5 business days we were told to call back and made to feel as if we were at fault for calling, even belittled for "not understanding". Sadly, we got tired of waiting for a refund and basically involuntarily paid off the equipment AND we are still stuck on a two year contract for service all because we didn't take time to research our other choices or look for a system we could install ourselves and monitor for less.

I've been an ADT subscriber for years now and the customer service has been good, but I seem to have very little interaction with them. I've never made any big demands on them. Just some odd occasions when the alarm went off. The last time I interacted with ADT was years ago and it was nothing serious. I contacted them saying, "How do I get this thing off?" Being a super senior citizen, I don't have any app on my phone and fortunately, I seem to live in a safe neighborhood. The price has been going up though. I've never had a chance to compare them with somebody else, but when I've complained, they have always been amenable to keeping my rates down. They were very cooperative and I'm very happy with the way they reacted. Overall, I've had nothing to complain about and always consider ADT.

When we moved into our home, ADT was the provider that the builders wanted us to deal with. Their salesperson was the same guy who installed the equipment, and he was great. Once we started working with ADT, we decided we'd stay with them. So far, everybody's been good and the service package meets my expectations. One time, my son came home from college and he needed to get home. We weren’t around the house and he was trying to get in the home. With ADT's door panel, we just let him in through our app. Overall, I would recommend them to others.

I was a long time customer really because of inertia. It is difficult to change services when you have a system hardwired in. But over time, their service has deteriorated. They didn’t even notice when my alarm went off like for over a month. And when I needed customer service, I spent hours waiting on the phone and wasn’t able to get the help I needed to get my alarm working again.

I would like to say that I almost left ADT for another Security provider. I could never get service or anyone to respond. Then things changed. Cassie ** and her team took over. Cassie is awesome and ADT has improved by 100%. Quick service, prompt replies and they genuinely care. 5 Stars for Jacob, my ADT Service Tech was fantastic. I highly recommend ADT.

I was an ADT customer for 7 years, but was ultimately forced to terminate my relationship with the company due to consistently poor customer service. In particular, there was a persistent lack of follow-up, with routine requests often taking weeks to be addressed or resolved. Additionally, the billing department mismanaged my accounts to such an extent that I decided to close them entirely. Despite the closure of these accounts, ADT Billing has continued to retain and use my credit card information without my authorization. I consider this practice to be improper and potentially unlawful. I maintain complete documentation and records to support and validate this claim. I'm going to expose you. Absolute headache. A car crashed into my house and the camera did not record one second of the crash. I called to cancel as my contract was coming to an end, and instead of cancelling like I asked, they added things to my account and signed me up for another 3 years. Now I cannot cancel without having to pay $2000.00. Worst customer service ever. I would NOT recommend ADT at ALL. Highly disappointed and dissatisfied. They never seem to fix the device problems or actually help, they just want you stuck in a contract.

ADT has been around a long time and I've been with them for 30-plus years. At this point, it would be extremely difficult to change, so I stayed with them. Also, my experience with them has been good. Their customer service and website are excellent. Their price is great as well and I never had any issues with them. I'm happy with my ADT system. I've had them across two houses since 2008. When we bought this house back in October of 2025, we got a more enhanced system than what we had in our previous home. I like the performance. I like the response and ease of the system. It was a little pricey, but that's the way it is.

ADT offered better pricing and monitoring compared to other companies, and I’ve been with them for over 20 years. I moved from my previous address after I sold the house, and the installers came the first week we were here at our new address and installed the system, which was great because we felt better. The installation team was very professional. When I retired and needed to stay within a budget, I contacted ADT to make sure I could still afford everything. It went up by $10 a month and they worked with me because they’d rather keep a customer than lose one. They also helped with installing the new battery.
About 10 years ago, someone attempted to break in at my previous address and the alarm went off. ADT called and they realized that something wasn't right because when they called me, it cut the phone line off. I called 911 and they came, but the person had already left. ADT came out and fixed the problem. It was something that wasn't wired right. They said they can't lose sight of talking to me, because that's my lifeline. So, they corrected that quickly. The customer service is excellent and ADT has been wonderful to me over the years, which is why I’ve remained a loyal customer.

ADT has been around for a long time, and I've known about them forever. Three or four years ago, I liked what they had to offer and got a package at a reasonable price. It was comparable and better than some that I looked into, and it's worked out really well. The system is excellent, and the guy that did the install was really good and nice. He went the extra mile for us. I can't say enough good things about him. He made sure it was all plugged in, so there are no batteries or having someone redo it. I really liked that.
The only downside to this whole thing is I was a little disappointed with the call system. They don't get too excited when the alarm goes off and they don't make a big deal about it. That frustrated me in the beginning, but I'm used to it now. I've never called in for tech support or order new products. I don't know how that worked, but I was looking into the fact that I need some more outside cameras and nobody's ever called and asked. Other than that, everything is going along smoothly. We haven't had any issues and as far as I know, they haven't had any issues with me. All in all, our experience has been awesome. The only person I've dealt with is the guy that installed the system and he was great. Everything else has been a recording or a text. We hope everything's all right.

I have loved ADT, except for making the payment. I'm in a mobile home park, and a lot of the people in the park use it, too. The price was much better than anything else. The sales representative who assisted me was a young man and he was really nice and very helpful. My service package meets my expectations very well.

I am filing a complaint against ADT regarding defective home security equipment and failure to honor their satisfaction guarantee. For approximately six months, I have been experiencing ongoing issues with my ADT security equipment. The system has not been functioning properly, and despite multiple attempts to have the issue resolved, ADT has refused to repair or replace the malfunctioning equipment.
A home security system is supposed to provide safety and reliability, but the equipment I was provided has continued to fail. I have made repeated service requests and also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau in an effort to resolve the problem, but ADT has not provided a meaningful solution. ADT advertises customer satisfaction and reliable protection, yet they are refusing to stand behind their equipment or replace the defective system. I am requesting that this issue be reviewed as a potential case of unfair or deceptive business practices.

I first got ADT in 2008. I saw a lot of advertisement and I heard good things about them on the radio. So, I decided to go with them. The installation team was very good when I needed to have a new panel. My service package is good. I'm thinking about making some changes, though. I'm not sure about a couple of things, so I want to make some changes to my package. ADT's coverage is good compared to some of the others I've seen. I would love a lower price. However, their price is good compared to what I've heard from some other people. I really don't use their website, but the app has been very good. I haven't had many problems with the app.
We had a fire in the building and the alarm went off and they called me. They made sure I was okay. That was the only incident that happened and that was about a couple of years ago. I have recommended ADT to a couple of people and told them I was very satisfied with their service. The customer service was great. Whenever I called and needed anything, they were very patient and very professional and I didn't have any problem with it. Overall, I'm completely satisfied and cared for as a customer.

We put some wireless sensors on our system, because unfortunately, wear and tear wires over 20 years. The installers called and were on time. We had that taken care of, and it's great. If we cook something and the fire alarm comes off, ADT calls right away, or I call them right away and get it resolved and make sure they don't send the fire department over. They were always great. Sometimes, the alarm goes off at different times, but we can deal with that.

ADT’s systems are very reliable and when you have a problem, the reps help you right away. Most of the time, they could do it over the phone. When my old system was out of date, ADT gave me another system and it didn't cost me any more money. Then, they gave me extra sensors for my windows so, I was very happy with it. Last week, I was speaking to their support team. I had a problem with my alarm system and they worked it out over the phone with me. They walked me right through it with a video, so they're very reliable. Plus, they give you a senior discount.

Today is March 14, 2026 and I called ADT, I waited 32 minutes after suffering with a robot that couldn’t solve my ADT app issue. When someone finally picked up the phone, they hung up on me!!! The service is really going downhill, so I’m seriously thinking of switching to Cox Communications instead.

I've been with ADT for 25-plus years. I've had no problem with customer service. Right now, my equipment is dated and needs to be replaced with something more modern. They're going to want to put me on price, which I have not allowed them to do, but I'm at the point now that I'm gonna have to probably upgrade. If an alarm goes off, they’re always quick and helpful. The people on the other end are always very helpful and very nice people. They’ve always been very courteous, and they do what they say. I’ve overall been very pleased with ADT.

ADT is the best. When we had a little fire that my husband created, ADT called the fire department and then my son. My son came wheeling in. We had no clue that there was a different set of names and people. It wasn't funny, but it was a learning experience. One thing I appreciate about ADT is that they come through. Even though they have changed names a few times, you know what you've got and you know it's always there.

I had a very disappointing experience with ADT Security System. The customer service was frustrating, the communication was poor, and I did not feel supported when I needed help. The system and service did not meet my expectations, especially considering the price. I would not recommend ADT to others based on my experience. I SCHEDULE MY APPOINTMENT FOR SERVICE. I was misled by ADT, I belong to Alter just about through paying my contract. ADT told me they could get me out of that contract. In the end they could did not. I had ADT before and I discontinued it when I moved. I have always had good service, and it was just natural for me to get them again. The rep was excellent. He was kind, professional and knew what he was doing. I'm very satisfied with the ADT package that I have and the equipment is easy to use. When I had to reach out to ADT, I did it through chat and they responded quickly and answered my question. I got what I needed done so that was simple. But ADT is a little expensive. $95 a month is a lot and I'd like it to be cheaper. They automatically take the money out my account and I don’t even know if this is forever.

We've been an ADT customer for 30 years and the customer service has been good. The times we've needed help, we've been able to get it. ADT was a pre-existing system with the house that we purchased, so there was a desire to stick with what was here at that time and our experience been has very favorable. I've shopped around at times and come back to it. They've been competitive as far as pricing goes. They've drifted up, and when I've called them, they've remained competitive compared to other companies.

Recently, I wasn’t too lucky with ADT's service because I wanted some extra cameras, and they send a girl over and they wanted to do something else other than what I wanted. I wanted to be wireless. I wasn’t too happy with the outcome. I just didn't like some of the things that she said and I just let it go, and I never got the cameras. Other than that, I'd give ADT a 5.

Steer clear of this security service, I got ours when we purchased a new home, spent several thousands of dollars on top of the thousand dollars our lender gave us to install ADT security in our home, and have had issues since it was installed, in this year, all our cameras got disconnected randomly, the fire alarms will randomly disconnect and sound the alarm at 2 in the morning, the cameras are a horrible quality and outdated, the doorbell chimer stopped working, I had to go through 4 levels of customer service just for the 5th level to need to call us back and never did, finally recontacted them and told them they had to send someone out to fix it, they scheduled us out a week out, then rescheduled, when someone finally came they told us it was broke and they can no longer order replacements or parts for the chimer, mind you this system was less than a year old, and to “update it” would cost thousands of dollars again.
Anytime you contact customer service expect to spend at least an hour, it randomly has disconnected from our phones multiple times, I bought this system because I wanted my wife to feel safe while I was at work but now it does no help. And they trap you in a 6-7 year contract with no way out besides paying thousands of dollars, and only give you a 3 day period to decide to get out, they also charge you for every service appointment when their system fails.

When my system was installed, the sales rep stated the batteries in the detectors would last 10 years. 2 years later they died and the company won't stand by the statement they made. It's like buying a car expecting 30mpg and get 6mpg. They basically lie to your face to get a sale. I would not recommend them.

I’ve had ADT from 2024, just after my husband passed, so this is why I put the whole system. It was very confusing from the beginning. I'm alone and I’m retired, so it’s a little pricey, especially these cameras. The three cameras are going like 24/7 and they could be better. I could get a view of the backyard, which is okay. The front is kind of obstructed. I see the driveway, but that's it. I am very satisfied with the doorbell. This is giving me really nice, comfortable feeling. Anytime I'm going to bed, I feel then it's okay.
I have a few situation on the beginning, then I didn't know how to change batteries, and the battery was going at three o'clock on the morning. One-time, I was so paralyzed and so scared. I didn't know how to open or how to do this and that, and at one point, the police even came so quickly. The experience was then they come in very quickly. So, it was positive. Right now, I feel more comfortable then I know which window is which batteries, because on the beginning, I was kind of running from room to room and making mistakes, but as the time was passing, then I'm learning. I don't have anybody around me to help me. I'm absolutely satisfied with ADT. I will recommend it.

I read up on ADT somewhere and thought I'd try it for the smoke alarms. I live by myself, so I figured I don't know what I'd do if somebody opened that door and the alarm went off. I hope it's never gonna happen. I got the system because it makes me feel good. I don't have any problems and I also like the smoke alarm thing. Everything seems to be going okay.
If I have any problems at all, I make an appointment, then they come right over and fix everything. I like the idea that they wear those little slippers so they don't screw up my rug, unlike my brother who comes over and doesn't care. I got to put blankets down everywhere because I got a new carpet. When the ADT people come over, they have those little rubber slippers and I go, "Oh, this is really cool." I've been with ADT for a number of years and they've been good on all these years. They haven't raised the price as well. All in all, my experience with ADT has been good. I'd even give them a drink if they drank.

Someone broke into my home and I had to do something, so I decided to go with ADT back in 2011. I’m still with them, so their services served me well. I am not all that technologically savvy, and I don't like complicated things. I just turn the system on and if I or someone accidentally sets off the alarm, they’re always right there and take care of it immediately. I'm very pleased with the service.

I get good service from ADT, so there's no reason to change. My service package meets my expectations very well. At some point, I went with the system that tells me what window, what door, or that somebody's trying to come in on, because my hearing got worse. The ADT representatives have been very good. All the time that I call them about something, I got good feedback and everybody was courteous.

Since 3rd party involved in ADT, customer servcie is no priority for ADT. In my case issue is 2 months old. 3 appointments, ADT missed. One appointment work was not finished. ADT screwed my system by messing with sensor's number, so ADT remote and call center cannot tell where is my issue. Tech took out my motion detector. 2 Appointments tech comes with different work order and different amount to be paid by customer. Actually there should be no charge as screwed up is done ADT tech. I am coming back and forth. There is no communication between ADT and their techs. I have wasted more than 60+ hours and reached nowhere.

The company associated with the housing district had ADT as the monitoring service when I bought the house, and since I’ve had it, I haven’t had any issues at all. My alarm went off a few times by accident when my sister was at the house while I was gone, but ADT was great each time. Their response time was great, and they also sent emails and texts. The price is good and comparable to others, and I don’t have any complaints there.

I like that ADT supplies all of the equipment and I only pay $28 a month for the monitoring system. My system is hooked with my landline. If I were to get rid of my landline and just go with my cellphone, then it would all be digital stuff. They'd have to change the equipment and I'm not into any of that stuff. I want very simple. If I need an emergency system, I just have to go right down the middle. I don't even have to dial a number. When the alarm went off one morning, I was asleep, and then the phone started ringing, and I answered it because I saw it was ADT. The rep said, “Your alarms going off. Is everything okay?” I was trying to figure out what the heck was going on. Everything was shut. Then I came to find out that my grandson's dog had gotten out of the bedroom and he went into the garbage bag hanging on the door and it opened the door. So ADT called me right away.

ADT's customer service has been excellent and I'm very happy with their price. I first heard about them on TV and I began using their service when the company I had before switched over to them. They kept the original equipment and right now, I have the sensors for the door and the windows. I also got a new keyboard, but other than that, everything else is pretty much the same.

I've had ADT for a long time, and I've had a good experience. I had it at my first residence for umteen years. I don't believe in looking around and I like that they're reliable, so I decided to go with them. My alarm went off a couple of times at my home while I was at work. ADT called the police, which my husband was the highway patrolman, and when the police got there, they called and let me know that it was our dog on the outside jumping up against the door and made the alarm go off.
I ended that service at my old home, but I have new service at my new home. The installer was very good. He came the day they said he was coming, installed everything that needed to be installed and made sure everything was working before he left. He explained to me and he worked at the panel. The panel I was used to was an old panel and I have a new digital panel now. The installer also left his book and his number in case I needed any access with anything else. I've been in my new home for about a year and I still have the same thing that he installed in my new home that I'm in now. People need to invest in getting ADT because they're reliable and it's easy to work the panel. Whenever we call or need some assistance, they're always available.

I am 100% satisfied with the package that I have with ADT. I have a remote that I can take upstairs and it’s got numbers on it, and you just hit the number to set your alarm and hit your number to cut it off. It’s neat. The last time somebody was here, they said they didn't know that ADT had that. I have doors upstairs in my bedroom to go out to a porch and without running downstairs, I can cut the alarm off before I get up. So, it’s nice. ADT is there when you need them, and when you don’t need them, they don’t bother you. I very rarely have problems with the system, but when I do, ADT takes care of it. I’ve been with them for so long that I’ve become used to the price that I pay them.

The departments at ADT don't communicate well. You would think you've ordered a certain thing, but when they come out to install it, they're bringing something completely different, and they're only bringing half of what you had ordered. Then they expect you to pay when it's supposed to not be charged. The only way to get it straightened out is to make five phone calls and go on up the chain, if you finally get somebody that's got enough common sense to take a look at all the records and realize that there's been mistakes and that it needs to be cleaned up and fixed.
They reduced our monthly rate for five years and locked that in. So, that was good. But it was just a pain in the neck. If we didn't keep good records and didn't remember exactly what was supposed to be what, it would have been a nightmare because you wouldn't have been able to prove what anybody said or anybody did. So, that was a challenge.
We moved locations from Seattle to Texas. When we were in Texas, we added cameras, and we've upgraded cameras since we've been down here. We've had instances where there was a pot on the stove that was steaming and the alarm went off. There was no damage done. ADT called really quick. So, it's reassuring that they're there and on the job. That part of it has been very good. We feel confident that it works, but the communication with their sales and installation departments is severely lacking.

I have paid approximately $1,700 for services related to a system that has not functioned properly since installation, rendering no services from ADT. I have also recently been notified that $673 has been referred to a creditor for collection. I formally disputed this amount, as the charges relate to a system that was defective and which ADT failed to repair or replace. I asked to have the system returned and was told that it was not returnable.

ADT was very professional and they took care of everything. They weren't pushy. They just told me the prices and the procedures on how to get everything in. It was done in a professional way. I never had a problem when I called them either with issues or things that malfunctioned. The package that I have is good. So far, I'm very pleased with it. There are times that I forget to disarm the system but once I put the code in and disarm it, they know it's me. They would ask, "Was it you?" Then I put it in there, yes. The response was instantaneous. When doors and windows are open, they don't waste time. It's immediate. Also, their website is good. ADT is excellent in performance and in responding to emergency situations. When I had a problem with the equipment, they sent replacements and it was mailed in, and then the old one was sent back. Everything was done professionally and well.

The installation guys who came in got here one morning at around 8 o'clock, but the cameras weren't here. They were under the impression that the camera was gonna be here when they got here. We had the work order. So, they ended up leaving. Then about six hours later, the guy brought the camera. So, the installation guys came back later in the day, and they hooked it up. Everything's been good since then. When I got ADT, I thought I could get a camera for the garage, but I couldn't. But I let everything go on for about five months and now, I have that camera that I wanted. With ADT, I like how it's come on my phone instead of being on the wall. I like that about ADT rather than when I had Vivint.

I'm happy with ADT. There are other security companies out there, but I'm not sure I really like them. It seems like the things are a little complicated where you have to set up this and that. But ADT comes and sets up everything for you. So far, I've added a couple of different things to my service package and their customer service was excellent. I've also had an emergency once and the service I received from ADT was great. I'd refer them to my friends.

ADT has been good. There was one time where my mother, before she passed away, hit the button and the one went off, but the police never came out. So that scared me because she was in her 90s. It's the only time we had an issue. Thank God we came home early. It was a 15- minute run to the store to come back. We also had an incident where my husband was working downstairs. We always leave the door locked, but unfortunately, he did not and somebody walked into my house and my dog was barking in a way he never barked before. So, the gentleman was standing there, and then he ran out, and that was when we called for security. I never had an issue all the years we've been here. We were thinking of getting the camera. I have the Ring and it's battery is constantly telling us the battery is low. I can't get it.

If you're willing to pay for camera and service outright, your bill goes up anyways. They find ways to continue to raise your bill with hidden fees. And don't tell about cancellation fees. We also had a bad experience with customer service.

ADT Customer for 22+ years. My local electric company has the same services for a fraction of the cost. I changed the service in early January. ADT tried to bill me for a quarter after their equipment had been canceled in writing and deinstalled prior to Feb. The bill is for service from Feb 28 - May 29. How does that make sense. Evidently they think a call is more secure than the notice in writing via USPS with a personal check from the person cancelling. They had no issue knowing it was me when they cashed the check. They said that the reason they require a call to cancel is that they have to read a statement explaining that the monitoring will no longer work once cancelled. I told them that I know their monitoring won't work since it has not been installed for over 2 months.
Please be aware that there is no protocol or ping to make sure that the equipment is installed or operational! Now they want to reduce the bill to 1 month and have me call back in to dispute the charge. Today is March 10th, so they want to reduce the charge to 1 month starting Feb 28 when the equipment was removed early January. They say that is so that they can notify the Police and Fire department that I am no longer an ADT customer.... unbelievable. They suggested 1 call back and go through the phone calls again in a week to try and dispute the Month of Feb charge.

I have had ADT Security for many years. In the last year the cameras have been a constant problem. They detect motion but do not photograph it. The only time they photograph is normal coming and going of family. That is no help. A person needs photos of the motions when no one is home. That is not happening. Customer service is an AI bot. It runs you through all sorts of steps that do not address the problem. You are expected to do your own service and trouble shooting. No human interaction.

Over 10 years ago, ADT showed me everything I was looking for and I've been with them since then. Their technician came out, installed the system, made sure everything was working fine, and that was it. He was very professional and took care of everything. I didn't have to ask any questions or demand anything. I'm 100% satisfied with the package I received. The experience with ADT has always been positive. The house was remodeled after I had a big emergency, and ADT monitored the whole thing while it was being renovated. I've always told people I know that I have ADT and I recommend them highly.

We had our landline removed because it was hardly being used, and it was an extra cost every month. I looked up ADT online and saw that there was a cellular device that we could use instead. So I called ADT and I spoke with several different people, and everyone was very good about explaining everything to us and how things would happen. Originally, our appointment with the installer was to add that cellular device to the box that is downstairs in the basement and then we could get rid of our landline.
When the installer came over, we walked around, showed him the keypads, and it was such an old system. It was 33 years old already, and he said, "I can probably change this keypad for you, to redo it so it's set up for the cellular thing." He explained in detail. He took his time explaining to us how it would benefit us to just change the keypads. We didn't need to change the sensors in the doors. The cellular device would actually not be downstairs, but in the main keypad by the back door.
By the time he got done with doing this, our quarterly bill would actually be lower. He really took his time to do this. He said, "I have to make an appointment to come back and do this. I have to have all the right equipment.” So, we said, "Okay. We'll do this." We talked with other people, and they had us sign some things online. We were able to read things and ask questions. Then when the gentleman came back, it was a good three hours to change things over. He explained everything every step of the way. We were very happy to not have to deal with the landline anymore. We were shown how to use everything. He explained everything.
We had a new secondary keypad up in the bedroom. That evening, when we turned off the lights in the bedroom, there was a lot of light off that keypad. Not something we had before. These are LEDs. The old one had a tiny, little green and red dots that you could hardly see. But this new one has the little screen that says that something is being moved downstairs and then there's a big red button and a green one. I tried to cover that during the night because we don't sleep with light anywhere.
I called ADT the next day, and they checked on me and said, "No. It is like that. We won't actually be able to change that." So I made a little paper hood out of some card stock to cover it. Now there's just a little light that hits the floor. That was what I did the first time. But then if someone walks through the kitchen and the sensor goes off and it says default, it immediately changes back. It says something and then it changes back. Then on this keypad upstairs, all of the number keys would light up in bright green and stay on for a minute every single time. What a waste that it’s coming on all day long. I'm home a lot and walk around the kitchen to the front door. So this thing would be operating all the time.
I called up ADT again, and I went through several people. When I talked to the last person in tech help, I went upstairs, and we went through this whole thing. He was really patient once again. He was able to hook up remotely and see what was happening with my keypad up there. He went through a number of things and he was able to shut that backlight that's inside down so it wasn't as bright. Then he went through a number of steps and finally, he could see those green lights didn't come on at all. I told him that we didn't need those numbers coming on. We can see them without the light. He was able to shut it off for us. It took a few days for us to get this stuff sorted out. But everybody was extremely helpful. We're all set, and everything works the way it's supposed to.
We see improvements in what ADT has done with the keypads. We didn't have a panic button before. So, this is really interesting, and it's not just a panic button. When you press that button and before anything goes off, you have to press one of the buttons below it, indicating whether it's fire or somebody breaking. You can choose the reason for pressing the panic button and that's a great idea, so that you don't just nilly-willy set something off and nobody knows what it is. It's been a good experience. When we needed to change things, they had a way for us to do it, so that made us very happy. Everyone took care of us.

Except for a few hiccups during the installation when we moved three years ago, everything has been positive. The guy didn't install the system correctly. The motion detector wasn't working. There were some other problems. It took a while to take care of them, and I had to make a lot of phone calls. But since then, the service has been good. I'm satisfied with it. It was mostly here when we moved in. I haven't had any problems other than we have sensors on all the windows, and when the batteries get low, it sets off the alarm, which is not a good thing. What ADT always tells us when we call is that it went off because the battery is weak, and it skips a signal.

I purchased ADT when we bought our house about 13 years ago. I'm accustomed to having an alarm system in my home and they're a trusted name a good reputation, which was why I went with them. So far, I don't have any complaints about them. I thankfully haven't had any emergencies here, so we really haven't had to utilize the services too much. But I use the alarm and it's great. Their price seems reasonable and I'm glad that we purchased the system. Having ADT gives me peace of mind.

We've been with ADT for 16 years now and my experience has generally been very good. Their reps have all been good, too. People know what they're doing and get things fixed in a pretty timely way. We actually changed out the camera system two years back now. Cameras are better. They do better things or more things. They've also been reliable. I can get a hold of them. Some of the local outfits are less reliable. The price is fine, too. It is as low as it is because somebody who claimed to be part of an ADT subset, a different organization, showed up one day and was quoting me a lower price. When I called into the main office to tell them they were here, they immediately lowered the price.

I have had ADT for 5+ years and now that I’m older, I’m going to live with my son and it has been a nightmare trying to cancel the service with ADT. It’s like they played dumb. They keep calling me wanting to know if I can take my Service with me and I tell him no and I think everything is OK. It’s canceled. I get another fricking phone call. This is ridiculous for 5+ years. I never paid my bill late, always on time. Never questioned when they raised it. When I first started the service it was 36.99. Now it’s up to almost $60. You can do so much better.

I recently added a second location to my ADT account in Marana AZ. In the few years of working with ADT, Ralph ** is by far the best. I hope this gets to the right person and he truly gets the recognition he deserves. Ralph went above and beyond to make sure my property was secure. Despite the chaos, Ralph remained calm, helpful and executed the virtue of patience, perfectly. He spent over 6 hours securing the property, and made sure we understood everything. Thank you, Ralph. It was actually for my mother who now lives with me. They kept hounding her and confusing her saying that she owed money. When she moved in with me, I spoke with them and personally close the account over the phone. They are now calling and saying that she’s still owes money. We do not want to use ADT. I would rather see my list of options and choose, rather than a company contact me.

If you want a good security system, get ADT. They are always good and their people are all really nice. I have no complaints. I had one incident, which I caused by accident, and they called me right then asking if I was okay. I said yes, and their rep said they were done calling the law, so she'd see if she could stop them. And that was in two minutes. Then, when the sensors were messing up, they had to come out and replace it. Everything went well with that, too. Aside from that, using the keypad is easy for a gal like me. They sat down and showed me how to work it. Overall, I feel really secure with ADT and I'm pleased with my security system.

So far, I've been very happy with ADT, but I had an issue. One issue was I just needed a battery replaced, and it was in a higher level than I could get to, so I did have someone come out to do that. The person on the phone was quite pleasant. Recently, I lost my fob. I misplaced my keys. It was on the keychain, and they had taken care of that, and hopefully, I'll have another one programmed and ready to go.
I've been with ADT for at least 20 years. The two recent calls that I made within the last couple of weeks, they were very helpful, cooperative, knew what they were doing, and they came in. The guy that did my battery change was in and out of here in 10 or 15 minutes at the most. And talking on the phone with the young man the other day about my fob, he was helpful as well. Everything I can think of has been positive.

I had Ackerman before and then, ADT picked us up. It seems to be working very well. It is a very good system and I enjoy it. Like everybody else, we would rather have the price lower but it’s the most we could get. It’s about average and it’s not bad.

My neighbor has had ADT and they gave me the company's number. I called and got the system, and everything was cool. The installers were great too. So far, the service has been good, except a couple days ago, I got a bill. Last year it was around 700, but right now, it's around 800 dollars. It jumped up $70 or $80 without any notice. I'm a little surprised. I'm getting ready to call them up and ask them what's with the price hike right now.

We've had ADT for 40 years but before that, we lived in another location and we had a Pitbull. So, I didn’t need security. When we moved, everything was already installed here. The reps answer anytime I’ve called for any reason. They’ve helped me solve problems or work through things that I was wondering about. I can’t complain about ADT’s service at all. Over the years, we upgraded our panel and added a couple of features, and they’re very nice to have. It was a one-day installation. I've only had one issue over the years when they came and replaced the sensors in the windows. Now, we have a different and better system.
Back in the day, when the alarm went off, the landline was what they used to call you immediately and no one could use that phone for anything at that time. Now, we have cell phones, and wherever I am in the United States, they call me, or they call other people who are always here. ADT is reliable, dependable and consistent with service. It’s a good system and I would recommend it. After all these years, I could get a little bit of a discount, but the price is not that bad for the peace of mind.

I've had my system for a long time. I had to turn it off because I was on disability. I had to turn it back on last year. I had everything and all the guy had to do was come and work on the outside, but everything was good. The price is too high for one camera, but it might not be now. The first time I got my system, I didn’t know how the camera worked and the alarm went off a couple times. This time I got it, I forgot how the system worked. When I’m not at home, I’d go to the ADT app on my cell phone. That is what I like. I can hit it. It always stays on.

ADT was heavily advertised and seemed to be fair at the time I heard about it, and I gave them a try. I’ve been with them for over 25 years and I’ve had upgrades over the years. My most recent installation was horrible. I live in the country and have a detached garage that could never connect to my Wi-Fi, even though the techs tried everything. The biggest issue was that it took almost four months to get the system up and running, so I went that entire time without security. I didn’t pay during that period, but it still wasn’t right. Once you sign off, that means that you were supposed to check everything. I didn't check everything like you’re supposed to check your smoke detectors monthly. So that falls on me.
My home has both wired and wireless. The house was already built, so for the things where they couldn't run a hard line, they put wireless. I’m more used to wired systems, and while I understand newer technology like Bluetooth and wireless setups, it doesn’t always work the way it should for me. I’m just not used to that newer technology. I was sold on the idea that the upgrade would be better, with features like a touchscreen, but none of that worked at my house. There are other people who have the same system and it works for them, but it just didn’t work for my setup. Being in business, ADT should be able to assess Wi-Fi strength and system compatibility beforehand.
In the end, ADT’s techs ripped out the upgrade and put back in what I had, just a newer model. So the features are the same. Nothing is more enhanced or remains the same. It’s what I had 20 years ago. The customer service has always been excellent whenever I’ve needed assistance. Despite the issues with the upgrade, I would still recommend ADT to friends and family.

I asked ADT to make the alarm very loud. I'm a sound sleeper and I wanted to scare the heck out of anybody who was breaking in. The ADT reps have been very good. They've been very helpful, either by the phone or coming out and checking the stuff.
