OUTSIDE COVERED TV. The Right Choice, Excellent Quality, Competitive Price, Over 7 years of spring-to-fall use. I purchased two of these TVs at Best Buy for “outside usage”, one in covered in a cabinet and the other one installed just under outside soffit and Eavestrough totally exposed all year, no cover (both tv’s not used in winter). Unbelievably they both are still working perfectly for relatively reasonable low cost. I thought if I got two years outside I would be lucky!! Therefore 10 Stars for basic Cost, effective TV that suffers elements on Lake Simcoe Canada.

I purchased this TV for my son's birthday. A year later, I noticed that he kept going to the living room to watch TV. He said the TV screen had gone black. I called the store and ordered a tech thinking, "well, my total tech membership" should cover this mess. NOOOPE! The Best Buy arranged for someone to come out to look at the TV, told me it would be at least $250 (w/o labor) to repair what he thought was the panel gone bad. He further explained that the Insignia Brand TVs are no good. The purchase was is not considered covered because the date I called for a service was passed the year coverage. GREAT, just great!
Bottom line... DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS TV, ANY INSIGNIA TV, AND BE SKEPTICAL ABOUT PURCHASING ANY OTHER ITEMS UNDER THIS BRAND. *NOTE-I purchased an Airfryer under the same brand that I tried to return and they wouldn't take it back. Fortunately, there was a recall and I was then able to return it and get part of the purchase price back.

I ordered a Fire TV from Insignia off Amazon on Feb 27, 2023. I was sent one on March 3, 2023 that was missing screws to assemble the legs for the TV to stand upon. I was not given the option to have the parts sent to me only to return for an exchange. I did so and on March 9, 2023 the replacement arrived and had only ONE screw in the box. This basically the same problem with ensuring that the box had all proper components. I was told the second time that they could ship screws out to me and I told them why would I want that when they have shown that they are an incompetent company and their product would probably be subpar. After reading other reviews on this website it looks like that would be a likely bet.

Hands down the worst experience and product I've ever experienced in my life. The company refuses to honor their warranty because "I only bought two 32" TVs". I asked for a supervisor. The rep laid down her phone and proceeded to tell her coworker that I was so annoying and other horrid phrases. Then comes back after that and says she can't find a supervisor. I tell her to check again and she does the same thing. I spent 300 on 2 tvs for Christmas and I can't even get them to power on yet they will not honor a warranty or allow me to return them. Biggest waste of money I've ever spent.

Bought 3 TVs, 2 for myself and 1 for my Mother. One tv came with remote control that has loose insides. The remote that came with the TV I bought for my Mother is going through batteries every 2-4 days. It does not matter the brand, the batteries are dead within 4 days. Can deal with the remote that has loose parts, can't deal with my Mom having to replace batteries every 3-4 days. Batteries are not cheap if being replaced every 2-4 days. Called Insignia support was told I had to contact the Best Buy store on eBay where I purchased it from. It is past the 15 day return period, so I am certain the Best Buy store on eBay cannot do anything at this time. The manufacturer should be obligated to honor the warranty. Also, there is NO possible way to contact the Best Buy store on eBay because of an error message "We're sorry we couldn't find an answer for you.
Unfortunately due to the high volume of messages this seller receives, they are unable to respond to your specific question right now." Contacted Best Buy through online help was told to bring the remote into a Best Buy for exchange, they won't send a replacement. Looked online to see if others were having issues with remote draining the batteries, TONS of complaints on this issue. Best Buy sells a replacement remote for $29.99, that is an insane price (they obviously know there are issues with the remote and feel they can charge a higher price). The major problem is that the TV has absolutely no channel or volume buttons on the TV itself, you have to use the remote.
They are continuously selling TVs with bad remotes even though there is a KNOWN issue with the remotes. Spent hours online in chat and on the phone with no resolution except being told to go out of my way to pick up the remote from my mom's house and bring it to a Best Buy store and then drop the remote back off. I will never buy another Insignia product and will be sure to mention to everyone I know that there are known issues not only with the remote but with the TV itself. My mom says, "It is a very dumb Smart TV". Do yourself a favor and do a little research and find a better brand with better warranty support.

I have done it 100's of times. When I realized the TV was good for nothing the warranty was over. Please, never buy the Insignia TV brand, It will go from the channel you are watching to the channel guide or to another channel and so many other problems, It will take too long to write all that is wrong with it. So in a few words: JUST DON'T BUY IT, IT WILL GIVE YOU MANY PROBLEMS.

I’ve owned 4 other smart TVs and Insignia's fire TV is the most horrible piece of junk I’ve ever owned! I bought it on sale (11/2021) during Black Friday at Best Buy and thought I was getting a wonderful deal, but I couldn’t have been more wrong! I wouldn’t pay $1 for it now!! I can’t watch my HBO Max app or my Disney+ app on it (I’ve called both companies, the problem is on my end). If I load other tv apps (discovery plus, paramount+) it takes an average of 5-10 minutes to get them to open. I thought it was the original tv, took it back to Best Buy and exchanged it for a new tv 3 different times and THEY ALL BEHAVE THIS WAY!! If you want to watch streaming apps buy another tv!! This isn’t a smart tv… it’s the most ignorant tv you’ll ever own.

My husband purchased the Insignia TV when our other flat screen HD TV died after many years of use. I would not recommend this brand. It keeps losing the sound or picture goes out and has to be reset. Messages to change from a HDMI cable to a composite cable keep appearing. We changed to the recommended cable and had worse viewing issues. Picture could not be formatted to fit our large screen HD TV, and we received message to use a HD cable. Spend more time with TV being reset than watching a show. I am more than ready to throw this TV out and run it over with my truck. Don't buy it. Only reason I gave 1 star is picture is good when it works. Otherwise I would be giving it negative stars.

I echo everything everyone else said: it's terrible! Dropping the signal several to dozens of times, restarting from scratch is a pain! Or, it will refresh but then go back 5 minutes and don't try to resume where you were, it's impossible to ff. The remote is a tiny thing made for tiny hands. It often doesn't work at all and it isn't the batteries.
Here's the thing: I have uVerse so if I connect with my antenna, it will play fine but is grainy and the volume is low. The only time it's ok, it depends on the network I'm watching. Forget HULU or any streaming service. Ballgames from MLB.tv has a nice picture/sound but otherwise it's back and forth from uVerse to wifi. I have considered getting a 50' flat ethernet cable and use the modem but I might just get internet TV, not uVerse TV. Crazy-making piece of dreck! I used my stimulus to buy it and could only afford this TV. Staring at a black/blank screen and hitting buttons isn't working. I so miss a "regular" TV, not a so-called "smart TV". There's nothing smart about it!

We bought an Insignia Fire TV from Best Buy in July 2019. Now it is June 2021 and it is shot. A few months ago the picture and sound would go off from time to time. It became more often. We had a warranty and called for a repairman. Best Buy uses Geek Squad. The first time they didn't send a repair but an installer. But it has been installed correctly. So that made no difference but delayed getting things fixed. So again I ordered a repairman emphasizing that I wanted a REPAIR man. They tried to get me to take it off the wall and bring it in, but we are in our 80s, it is heavy and on the wall. We would not do that. Well they repair man was late and missed their time frame. He came in, and within 5 minutes said, "Oh you have a picture." We knew that. He said he would need to get a part if he could. He said a lot of the Insignia TVs have this problem. So now we are waiting to see if they can get a part. I am not happy with Best Buy and Geek Squad. Bottom line I would not recommend buying one.

I mean sure, as far as tv's go I can imagine there could be a worse tv. Somebody out there has to have a tv worse than this, so it cannot be the worst, but frankly, unless you're planning on buying it on Black Friday, or if you're looking for a cheap and temporary television to send your child to college with, it's good. Besides that, there are better brands out there.
My god, I used to think the problem was my internet until I learned that it was the television. It glitches, it crashes, and honestly I'm just tired of it. At the first opportunity I will be getting a new tv. This is a bottom tier tv. This is the kind of tv you buy when it's on sale and you're looking with budget rather than quality in mind. If you are looking for a television and you can afford to spend more on another tv besides this one, do that.
Even the process for making a review is messed up. Had to make a whole account and everything because the "use google" function didn't want to work. Started to wonder if they make reviews more difficult or try to deter people from reviewing because they know that nobody's coming here to rave about it, but simply want people. Anyways, just don't bother. If you are looking for a sign NOT to buy a television or product from this company, THIS IS IT. Don't say nobody warned you when it's 7pm and you're trying to watch television but the different apps are finding different ways to glitch or crash.

The Insignia 32 inch 720p HD TV, has a poor picture quality. It has a grainy effect, and the sound is weak. I can't hear the sound of a movie, either DVD, or even a CD over the top of my box fan. Of all things the fan was set to low. This is no opinion, it is the truth of my experience. I have had a 32 inch Westinghouse 720p tv, and was very satisfied with the results. Picture was not grainy at all, and the sound was quite a bit louder. Due to the Covid19, I was unable to find another Tv at this time. If you so get this tv, games would be ok I guess. Thank goodness I didn’t buy this TV myself. I would not recommend Insignia to ANYONE. I would rather have no TV than this broken piece of junk. NEVER connects to the internet, and when it does, it disconnects minutes later. TV often resets itself due to this, so I can hardly even pick a show before it turns off on me! When I do get lucky enough to get Netflix to load, every 5-10 minutes I get the buffering screen (probably also due to the fact that the tv doesn’t want to stay connected to my wifi). When I tried to find their customer service, it doesn’t seem to exist. (Because I didn’t buy it I’m not sure what store it came from), so it’s not even like I can exchange it. I purchased a 55" 4K Amazon Fire Smart TV from best buy for roughly 450$ in December of 2018 so I have had the product a little over 2 years now. The issues first started with the remote and the Alexa command controls as soon as I got it home from the store. The Alexa microphone button would work, register through the tv, but then no response from Alexa. About 6 months later it just randomly started working and then a month later, stopped working again. Figured okay not the biggest deal, everything else works so I just left it alone.
Now I come home from work last night turn on the tv, switch the input over to HDMI, play some Xbox, switch it back to the home screen about an hour later, and all of the sudden I've got about a 3" black solid bar vertically through the middle of the screen. This is where the b.s. really starts! I look up a customer service phone number and I'm immediately directed to Geek Squad. The geek squad representative proceeds to tell me that he believes it's a panel issue in the screen. Sounds like it's blown out.. So now I have to pay 99$ to have somebody come out here and another 99$ for the labor when they do come, plus whatever parts as well. So I'm looking at another 300$ at least right?
I can't quite understand if Insignia uses geek squad as their repair and support service instead of supplying their own to their paying customers, why I should personally have to pay that kind of money to utilize those services after I've already spent money on a product insignia manufactures. That is possibly the poorest service I've ever been provided by any company and that's not even the best part.
After I schedule the appointment with geek squad the gentleman proceeds again to tell me after all of this that if it is a panel there's nothing anyone can even do because insignia doesn't even make replacement screens for this size tv!!!! So you sell a cheap product to consumers to begin with, outsource your repair and support, charge the customer for that, and then don't even make replacement parts to fix the thing?!? How did you make the t.v. this large but don't make screens this size? Such a scam! So I'm looking at 650$ on a TV that is still broken now. I would never ever recommend an insignia product to my worst enemy. If I could give zero stars I would have.

I thought I got a good deal January 13, 2019, when I bought a 50’ Insignia from Best Buy in Secaucus, NJ. Boy was I wrong. If a cheap, affordable HD/Ultra HD-4K tv seems too good to be true you can bet your grandma’s best cookies it is too good to be true. Aside from the fact it’s not actually truly 4K, my tv began acting weird last night March 8, 2020. I’ve barely had this thing 14 months and it just went blank yesterday. I replaced the remote batteries which obviously had no effect. The tv jumps from a blank screen to the main menu as if someone’s laying on the remote. The tv doesn’t respond to commands when using the remote.
I just cannot believe that this tv has crapped out after only 14 months. It’s on my wall for god’s sake. I could understand if it were on a unstable surface and was somehow dropped. But to just suddenly stop working after barely 14 months is extremely disappointing. Fool me once shame on me. Insignia will never rip me off again. Buyer Beware, research all models thoroughly before purchasing a TV. And if you read good reviews about Insignia remember it’s an anomaly. Do not buy Insignia tv’s. This TV was relatively cheap at Best Buy and my first experience with a Smart TV. I love the built in Roku. However, the TV is really inferior. It started freezing up and turning itself off or going back to the main screen. The sound was inconsistent. Yesterday I was trying to scan an update of channel selections and the TV went from finding 39 channels, to 27 with the next scan, to 9, then zero. So I lost all the stored channels and it will not scan any antenna channels. The Roku thing still works, the TV still works, but now I can't watch any antenna channels unless they are offered on the Roku channel menu and I go through the internet/wifi. It is such a frustrating piece of inferior technology.
I talked to a sales person at Best Buy about it and the salesperson said 'they aren't made to last, 18 months 2 years max". Are you serious? Then why is this store selling such an inferior product? I don't want to have to throw away a TV in less than 2 years. It is not only a waste of money, it is unnecessary landfill garbage. This mentality that everything is disposal and it is 'normal' to have to replace electronics every 2 years or less is ridiculous. Stop this waste. I won't support this brand going forward.

I bought my 52" insignia TV a year ago and it wasn't bad for what I paid for it but there are a few things that I don't like.
1. The TV itself has no manual buttons on it, which means that I can only use my remote control to do things on it. Now this wouldn't be an issue except that within a year of buying the TV, my remote broke. Upon my remote breaking I called to check my warranty on it and was told warranty doesn't cover broken remotes. So the customer service for this product is not good and the product itself is obviously not long lasting.
2. The volume on the TV sometimes cuts out, so I will have to wait a bit for it to go back to normal, and again I called the customer service line and they said there was nothing that covers that and I would need to bring it back to the store where I bought it and pay to have it fixed..
So all in all, I will not be buying another Insignia TV. It is less expensive than most, but the extra money is worth it to get a better product.

The picture has clarity; however, there are times when the sound goes out and it takes, sometimes a few minutes, for the sound to come back on. The built in Roku is a great asset and especially having a cable company that will stream through Roku so that you don't have to rent an extra box. So money saved. The cost was well worth the TV. I would recommend.

I bought this last year to go in our guest room. I had barely had the TV in use less than 6 months and it blows a fuse internally (if I could add photos I would). No damage was done to it whatsoever, you can see it blew something inside the TV and the whole thing spiderwebbed, mind you zero evidence of negligence on my part. I contact Insignia directly and they tell me it is caused by "accidental" damage and they don't cover the issue. I had purchased an outside protection warranty w/ TV so I take it to Best Buy and get told the same thing. Now I am out almost $200 to a POS TV that doesn't last past 6 months when I own a Samsung Smart tv that's in my living room for almost a decade now and still works like a charm!! I unplugged it that night thinking will reset it the next day. The next day I plugged it back in then walked unto other room to grab laptop for Google search on how to do reset. I heard loud pop, my Shepherd ran into me with her alert ears looking at me. So I hustled to bedroom. By then smoke alarms are going off and white blue gray smoke coming from back of my tv. I pulled the plug from surge protector and carries it outside away from home. We will see what outcome is but so far Insignia only appears to be worried about whether I saw flames or not. If you look at reviews on Best Buy website, you’d think this TV was a great value, but I’ve left a review several times on their site, only to notice it gone within a month. My problem, it will drop internet connection if you look at the darn thing cross-eyed! Several times a day I need to re-start the TV, and if you’re in the middle of watching something good, this will definitely cause you a bit of frustration! I contacted Best Buy, and of course for more money to diagnose the issue, the Geek, said it must be my internet connection!
Nope, as I have a Toshiba TV set up on the very same internet which has yet to drop connection! There’s nothing that can be done, and is an issue many people have with this television. It’s cheap in price, but for just a little more money, you can get a well made unit from almost any other maker and not experience these problems! 12/31/18: Well, Happy New Year to me! This 15 month old TV crapped out on me at 9:30 am today. I bought it on sale from Best Buy in San Luis Obispo, California. I'm having the exact same problem as experienced by another reviewer here. The TV now refuses to acknowledge or accept an internet connection & yet Wi-Fi is telling me it's connected, very strong signal, all systems go, etc, except for the TV, of course. I've had this problem before, and usually it's only with one channel, such as Hulu, and I usually just switch to another streaming channel and everything is fine. Sometimes I do have to unplug the TV and plug it back in and then everything is fine.
Today, however, none of the tricks I have up my sleeve are working. I have unplugged & plugged in the TV a zillion times, I have unplugged & plugged in the power strip a zillion times. Nothing. I can't access Hulu, Vudu, Pluto, Tubi, or even YouTube regular. To say I'm pissed is beyond words. I have no cable at the present moment so I'm unable to assess if it will still broadcast with cable. Because it's a 5-day holiday where I unfortunately reside, I am unable to contact cell carrier to see if the Wi-Fi problems might be coming from their end. They won't be open until January 2nd. I have a 5 year warranty on this TV but after reading the experiences & horror stories on this site, I have very little confidence that it will, or even can, be repaired.
This TV has done this before & I considered it just a minor annoyance and inconvenience because the Wi-Fi has always came back. However, it's going on almost 9 hours now & I have a very strong hunch that this once MINOR convenience, annoyance, and problem is now a MAJOR & PERMANENT one & my TV is now gone forever. Problem is, I am on a VERY low fixed income & I cannot afford another TV. As I said, Happy New Year to me. I'm old enough to remember when TV was FREE and also hassle-free. You would go to the store, buy a TV, take it home, plug it in and voilá!- you had TV. Often times you wouldnt even need rabbit ears or a roof antenna to get a great picture. Now all these companies are gouging us and nickel-and-diming us to death for something that should be free and also hassle free to watch.

If I go back to home and run through the channels it shows picture again and has sound but it keeps going black (no sound either) every time I watch TV and it doesn't matter what station I'm watching, it happens constantly.
I don't understand how Best Buy is allowed to sell these TVs They clearly know they are selling faulty unusable televisions to the public and they are making a killing by doing so. They need to be held accountable table- why consumer affairs isn't doing anything is beyond me- Best Buy is scamming the public. I called Best Buy, they ordered a part sent to my house, they came to the house on 07/01/17. They replaced the motherboard, which didn’t help. They ordered a new motherboard and a power supply, installed it on 07/19/17. This tv worked fine for 30 minutes, then the same problem, except the back of the tv is warmer. I called the repairman and he said he would call his field supervisor. He said there is nothing else to change, so I figure defective parts. I’m waiting for a call from the Geek Squad if they are going to replace it, or what.

I wish I could give Insignia a -10 star review. I bought a 49-inch Insignia TV for my mom back in December 2015 and within the last month and a half (starting May 2017) we continue to have problems with it either not turning on or when the red light flashes and is telling me it is turning on it decides to take 30 minutes to come on. I will NEVER BUY another Insignia TV or product EVER AGAIN in life and based on the other reviews it goes to show just how much of a piece of crap this product really is.
I even tried doing an update on my TV only to find out that the TV's been discontinued and they no longer offer an update for that model. Really? The TV isn't even 2 years old. My 2003 HP printer still provides updates and downloads and works (totally different product but you get my point)! The few good reviews I do see makes me wonder how long the person actually had the TV for and if they provide an update between that 1 to 2-year mark or if Insignia paid somebody to write that review. I am now in process of forking out money for a quality brand name TV.

The Insignia TV brand is one of the most underrated brands based on performance and value. The quality and value is by far worth the price. It is unfortunate that cable providers like Time Warner/Spectrum do not see the brand's value and, therefore do not see it as a viable contribution to their ROI. In other words, it is not a supported brand for their DVR configuration.

I bought a 19-inch tv in July of 2014 and recently bumped the cable outlet and broke it but it still works. I soldered it and wala - it's fine to this day. I bought a 24 inch 2 months ago and the quality in picture just wasn't there so I returned it for an LG which has a good pic btw if you people want a decent tv, but I'm still impressed with the older model working so long in my 5th wheel when it does get jostled around quite a bit. I have seen this is a common problem, there is even a few YouTube videos of "how to fix" this very issue, with people taking apart their tv sets. There are website forums with pages discussing the issue and trying to troubleshoot the problem with all sorts of tips and tricks people are using to get their tv back on, none are working for mine anymore. The indicator light comes on when remote pressed but no picture - screen all black, nothing, complete failure. I disconnected and waited for a couple of minutes thinking it would reset the TV, then re-plugged and nothing... same problem. Someone mentioned that Best Buy strikes major deals and orders thousands of a one specific TV model, way below cost and present them as special massive markdowns for the Thanksgiving Black Friday specials and Cyber Monday.
It seems different HDTV LED manufacturer's order the same type of defective mechanism part that enables that slight spring-like clicking sound you hear that activates the screen illumination, and when the screen stopped working, that spring like sound was never heard again. Wish Insignia and the other company had the problem with at APEX narrow down the part number causes the problem and contact the part manufacturer. When using HDMI input #1, the manual says you can use the audio input if your PC doesn't carry audio through the HDMI cable. It doesn't work, there is no audio. When tuning in a weak over the air station and it becomes took weak to receive, the TV permanently deletes that channel. There have been times where the TV rebooted itself while this was happening. You can't get it back without a full rescan of all the channels. With antenna stations, the favorites function does not work. It randomly deletes stations from its list, and sometimes that random deletion is extended to the tuned channels so they disappear. It basically corrupts the channel database. There have been times where the TV rebooted itself while this was happening, and one time where it even froze up and I had to unplug it to reset it. The only way to correct it is to do a full rescan of all the channels.
With antenna stations, the last channel button does not work the first time you use it after the TV is turned on. When you press it, it just blacks out for a second, and the same station is re-tuned in. The second time, it works. It's not a bug, but very annoying: with all antenna stations, you must to include the .1 (point-one) in every channel you type in, or else it won't tune it in. You can use .2 or .3 if those subchannels are available, but there's no shortcut to the main or .1 channel. When compared to an Insignia CECB (converter box), this TV receives fewer channels overall and requires a bit stronger signal to receive each channel.

About 15 months later my TV won't even start!!! I did not buy an extended warranty but don't you expect a television to last longer than 15 months!? You would think a company would want a customer to be satisfied, spread positive feedback, and return. However this does not appear to be the case. The only thing I don't like is that I wish it had a separate composite input for the older game consoles. As it is now I have to share with the single component video input, where the older Insignia TV I had before had separate ports.

This is a 42" screen and it will search for channels so that you can flip to the next available channel for easy surfing. I would prefer that the channels that are duplicated in analog and digital signal would be only listed once but that can be corrected with manual efforts.

Since my bad experience with my Westinghouse TV, I have been afraid to purchase another. I am in desperate need of at least a smart TV now. I cancelled TV satellite but have Netflix on my phone and would love to watch movie from a TV instead! Ok back to Insignia. I got a small TV from Dr Phil show as a gift. It's nice but so tiny and the stereo sound doesn't work on it so it sounds terrible and it's only like 18" so it's not really a TV to watch anything good from. So with these two bad experiences with flat panel TVs and a limited budget I have to be careful what I buy next. I'm in the market now.

We have several televisions in our home which consist of various brand names. I chose to use the Insignia for this survey for a few reasons: the Insignia is our only flat screen. It is our favorite, it was used as our PC monitor when we had a desktop. It worked wonderful as a monitor. It had a great picture when using YouTube. It has a great picture and sound for use with a DVD or TV. It sounds pretty good even when playing a CD thru the DVD player (although it did not come with the factory remote. I purchased it as used. Only spending $40 I knew it was a good buy because my parents had purchased one of the same, although new & with a remote costing $200), with having the opportunity of previously experiencing the use of my parents Insignia I instantly felt it would be a good purchase.
Although this purchase being a used TV, without the remote, it is probably the best appliance purchase I have ever made! Normally it seems such type of purchase does not work out so well for me however, I couldn't ask for more, great price, suits many purposes, and great quality (This survey I know is on my Insignia TV but I wanted to put in a good word for the RCA TV I purchased in the late 80's. The RCA was another good purchase choice as well!)!

This TV didn't even make 25 miles. Never purchase this brand again and as much as I have purchased at Best Buy will not shop there first, our local store in Jefferson City, MO is understaffed with sales reps who need more training and customer service etiquette. Insignia is a great buy, at a fraction of the price. The features, the screen, the technology, and support for external devices are superb. However when trying to connect to the cable jack, or HD antenna, the scan features find 0 channels. My old 20 year TV would pick up about 20 channels, but the Insignia had some issues tuning. I called customer support, who asked that I return it to the place of purchase, who then asked me to call customer support... etc etc etc. A very circular roundabout way of saying "too bad"... I pretty much just use it for music and the occasional dvd. Make sure this works in store first. Make them do a full extensive test.

This is my second Insignia HDTV. The previous was a tube TV (1080i), but I sold it because it weighed over 100 pounds, which I then bought my flat panel 32-inch 720p; this was in 2008. The difference between 1080 and 720 is totally noticeable. However, the TV has worked almost perfectly, with only the occasional issue where you turn the TV on, the LED blink red then shuts off; you just have to turn it back on, so it's not a big deal. The inputs are fantastic, as there are two RCA inputs, 1 composite set, and 4 HDMI ports.
Nowadays, you're lucky if you get 2 HDMI inputs, which is just crazy. The two big cons that I have with the unit are that it's only 720p and the 60Hz refresh rate. I'm a big gamer, so I notice these more than most people would, and it annoys me. I've been searching for a new TV for years, but they are still way too expensive. All I want is a 39-inch 1080p 120Hz TV that is not a smart TV; I have an Xbox One which does everything a smart TV does, and better I might add.

My TV is 32" Insignia which is sold by Best Buy. BEST buy in-house brand. When I was doing online comparison it was between this brand, Phillips, RCA and Vizio. Tied down to top two between Insignia and Vizio and I chose Insignia only because the Vizio only had 2 on the shelf while the Insignia had multiple. So I didn't want to take the chance of the Vizio being a possible returned product. The Insignia TV model is NS-32D312NA15. The picture quality is great. I currently use over the air broadcast (rabbit ears antenna) and I get about 8 channels, 2 of which are in HD quality. The scanning/search of the channels take about a minute or 2, which is not bad. The sound is not loud but I think this is a commonality of all LED TVs so I will buy a sound theatre.
The menu options are pretty good for the TV. The remote, I think the placement of the buttons are accurate. Only the volume, channels up and down and power buttons are illuminated in the dark, which is useful. Overall I'm pretty satisfied with this TV and the price of $200. Plus I purchased the best buy warranty. I'm satisfied. Next TV I buy will be bigger model.

It's now permanently burned with past images/lines that really interfere with watching anything on it. It was pretty expensive at the time, one of those "save up/use tax returns" to be able to buy and I wish I'd been made aware that was possible to happen... I have a 39" Insignia TV model # NS-39E340A13. This tv is only a couple years old, bought by my family. I had the same issues most people have with no picture, but still have sound. Well, I found the replacement boards online, main, power supply, t-con, and led driver. Reasonable prices for these components. I had no luck replacing the main and power supply boards, as well as the led driver. Still the same issues. So I messed around with the led driver board and found it was drawing so much power, the resistors on the power supply were getting extremely hot, then the screen would go dark. What I did was took the four screws off that, mount the led driver board to the chassis.
Now the back of this board has no circuits on it, however, the four screws ground the board from the top. I test ran the tv all evening with the led driver board ungrounded from the chassis and the tv is running perfect. The problem from what I see is a failed surface mount component on the led driver board. Ungrounding this stopped the high current draw from the power supply. The power supply cooled down now, and there seems to be no adverse effects on running the led board without the four screws and its plastic cover.

I opened the box and turned it on, it was so dark, you could not see ANY dark scenes. I called Best Buy who sent me to Geek Squad and they sent someone out who said nothing was wrong. I complained and someone else came out and found a problem. They ordered parts. I complained why I have to get parts for a brand new just replace it. They would not because I was told they could only replace a TV within 14 days. I never knew this as I never had a TV go out this fast. The parts came in and the geek squad installed it and it showed a little lighter but not much. I was stuck with a TV that is not worth Insignia even selling.
I came home yesterday and I heard sound but a black screen. I turned the TV off and then back on and no sound and just a black screen. Only the red light blink. I called in and was told "your warranty was up in June, it is July sorry." No TV should have went out this fast. It was already not working correctly the first day I took it out the box. This Insignia 48" TV came with my Brand New Winnebago Motorhome. It works OK picking up AIR HD channels but does not receive Campground Cable channels well, missing some of the available channels all together and showing analog for the few that it gets. And those are extremely grainy and unwatchable. I called the Insignia customer support for advice. I talked with ** who told that it was a bad connection somewhere in the cable delivery system. Additionally, he told that I had no warranty because it is considered a 'gift' and that Winnebago was the original purchaser not me. I asked for a user manual as none came with it. He told me to download it from the internet and print it out, that Insignia/Best Buy was a 'Green' company.
In this case 'green' means Insignia/Best Buy are just being cheap. After I pressed him, he said he would send me a manual. After one month no manual has arrived. I tested this TV for cable channels at 3 campgrounds that had HD channels but it did not pick up any cable HD channels. Winnebago said they would investigate this issue during warranty at an authorized Winnebago dealer. After two weeks at a dealer, no results so far. Keeping my fingers crossed that it can be fixed.

I can also see the TV on the router's "attached devices" list. The sad part is that apparently Insignia has a bad habit of removing information on discontinued products, instead of moving it to an archive area, as manufacturers of computer hardware do. Called Geek Squad because it's a Best Buy product and I had to pay for them just to come out and look at it. $85.00. I grudgingly accept this because I didn't pay anything for the television, bid deal right? Not!!! Technician comes out after five minutes, he surmises that it's a faulty HDMI port. Says he has to order the part and when it comes in he or someone from Geek Squad will come out to install it.
Waited weeks for them to respond after several cancellations. Finally, tech arrives at my house and installs the part. Does it work? Nope. After messing with the television several times to no avail, he decides that they will have to order another HDMI port. Meanwhile I'm stuck without a working television for several more weeks. He leaves, and I start to tinker with the television until I finally get a picture.
Two weeks later the appointment I had set with the technician gets delayed because they are having trouble locating the part necessary for my television. I find out that the model I have is no longer manufactured anymore. So, it's an undetermined amount of time I have to wait for them to receive the part and come back to my house to replace it. I told them to go pound sand. I would've have never known that Best Buy would treat their customers like this. I will never purchase another item from Best Buy.

Called to speak to manager re the problems I was having with the TV. The TV would have power going to it as the indicator light would be on but the screen would not turn on. Besides that, it would shut off on its own randomly and I would have to press the power button 5-6 times before it would turn on IF it would turn on. It was already sent for repair once, it took 5 weeks to get back then it broke again (same issue) and they wanted to send away again to repair. I was not pleased with this as they attempted the first time to fix it and the day after I got it back the same thing happened. Now they wanted to send it out again! I spoke with an agent and requested to speak to manager, I waited 20 minutes to speak to a manager and was put on the phone with **.
He told me that it is Geek Squad that has to give an RA for a new TV and Geek Squad said it was Insignia who was responsible for it. He spoke to the Geek squad rep on my phone. When their conversation was over, the call was disconnected. The Geek Squad rep said they were told to send it away. Unhappy with this response I called back, the rep who answered the phone asked the normal questions like name, # and all that, I politely stated that I was just on with a manager and prefer not to go through all my personal info and such again. I then asked what the names of the managers on duty were. To my surprise there was no Manager or supervisor by the name of **. At this point I provided my case ID and asked the rep to confirm who I was speaking to. The rep told me that it was a regular rep just like himself. I was furious that this rep posed as a manager for both myself and the Geek Squad supervisor.
So again I asked for a manager and I got **. My experience went from bad to worse. This supervisor was laughing at me while I was explaining the situation. I asked to speak to someone above him and I was advised there is no one above him. I asked who I would contact about the poor service I received, he said there was no one to forward it to -- that he was it. I then asked him to provide me with the dates I contacted the company regarding this issue and the first name of the representative that I spoke with and I was told I was not able to have that information because of "Privacy Policy". You’re telling me I cannot have info about my call?!
I work for a call center, I know how things work, if a customer asked for their previous call they made about an issue and who they spoke to I would be more than happy and ABLE to provide the info. I then asked him about the representative who posed as a supervisor and was told he would take care of it. I was on the phone for 1 hour and 45 minutes while standing inside Best Buy at the Geek Squad department. The end result, my TV is sent away yet again and the warranty will be up by the time I get it back. They told me that in order for it to be considered a manufacturer’s defect they would have to send it out 3 times, so 3 times in the 1 year warranty leaves me without a TV for approximately 16 weeks out of that year!! That is unacceptable. My experience with this company and this product would be rated less than a 1 star if I could. Please do not waste your money on a product whose company does not back up their product.
