Finding an agency that could provide caregivers that are properly trained to care for bedridden clients has been a real challenge. After reading countless reviews on Yelp and Google, I decided to give the Right at Home franchise in Palo Alto a try. I had high expectations based on what I read, but the level of care I received went beyond anything I could have imagined. From day one, caregivers T.J. and Alexis stood out. It was obvious they were highly skilled and committed to providing professional, compassionate care.

I found the management team was just as impressive. Nichole, Debbie, Lynn, Maria, and the franchise owner, Gulraj, didn’t simply assign caregivers and move on. They stayed involved, regularly checking in by phone and in person to make sure I was receiving proper care. When T.J. left on a previously planned vacation, Nichole and Maria personally stepped in to provide my care and to ensure that Alexis was fully up to speed on my specific needs. Because of their careful planning, the transition from T.J. to Alexis was seamless. I have found that level of dedication is rare among caregiver agencies, and I deeply appreciated it. Thanks to Right at Home in Palo Alto, what could have been another stressful experience turned into a time of comfort. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for professional, compassionate, and reliable care. Mark N. San Mateo, Ca

We have been using the service for over four months. We have had very good caregivers for my father with Dementia and poor caregivers that sat playing on their phone most of the times and once had a pregnant caregiver come either her own blanket for naps. The good ones were very caring and genuine and could lift my father in and out of his wheelchair and cook for him.

We have had home health care giving services for my husband for 4-5 years. In that time, we've been with 3 agencies, and more caregivers than I can count. We are now with "Right at Home", Austin, Texas area, and our caregiver is Erin **. Erin is a very welcome surprise. We had lost hope that there were any home health aides with caring compassion, or that take pride in their job. Erin comes to us 3 days a week to assist my husband. He is 100% disabled, Viet Nam, 26 year USAF Veteran. Unfortunately, so many Veterans are treated with disregard, and disrespected as a normal occurrence. I pretty much stay on guard for his safety and care.

Erin comes in smiling, courteous, prompt, and is the most conscientious and respectful health aide we've had the pleasure of meeting. There are many complimentary adjectives useable, but they are not adequate to express how pleased we are with her services. Erin seeks tasks she can do to help me in the house. Erin is absolutely deserving of our 100% trust and admiration.

We had a bad experience with a "Right at Home" staff who showed up late and exhibited dangerous behavior when she visited me last Saturday, Feb 8. We had three hours and the other caregivers are usually done with everything on the list in two hours and then we have time to talk and relax. But this lady was mean and pushed and shoved me in the shower, then stepped all over me and bumped me hard with the shower chair on my right shin, which is still bruised (see photo). Instead of apologizing for the way she treated me, she got mad and left me sitting there with the water running and told my daughter to finish my shower. My daughter agreed to take over and asked her to put the dishes in the dishwasher, but the videos show she was walking around the living room area bending over the side tables a few times but not cleaning.

We called the agency to complain and were told that they would not send this caregiver to our home again. A few days later (Wednesday), we had a trespasser in our property and my daughter called police, at the time not knowing who the trespasser was. After we reviewed the videos, it turned out that the trespasser was the same lady we had complained about on Saturday. The indoor videos also showed that on Saturday, this person had walked in with one small white bag, but was seen leaving with two black shoulder bags in addition to the white bag, and got into her car with all 3 bags. My daughter finished my foot care and the dishes and took out the trash.

Based on what Rosemary and Lisa said, Police refused to press charges against the trespasser even though she had become violent, and then accused my daughter of lying because Rosemary and Lisa denied that we had complained about this lady and did not want her to return. After Wednesday's incident, we tried to contact Lisa, the owner, three times, leaving messages with Rosemary, but Lisa never responded.

*** Veteran with 100% service connected disability*** Family backed out before starting due to delays obtaining a signed copy of the 6 page "service agreement" which was required at a "Meet and Greet" in our home. The service agreement was unsigned by a Right-At-Home staff but did show the veteran spouse's signature. Fees and collections including a one hour $75 drop in fee did not mention the Veteran's Administration as Payor. In the 5 day period waiting for a signed copy of the contract, a staff called the veteran's spouse on her cell phone and requested the veteran's full social security number. Two days later, the owner texted the veteran's spouse and requested a click confirmation of her e-mail address. The Meet & Greet by scheduler and aide were troubling for arrival in separate cars 30 minutes apart, never meeting the veteran, but accruing time worked before walking to the door together.

Effort to gain building code access was refused, which was fortunate because days later, the owner arrived with the aide without conversing with the veteran's spouse. Standing outside, the owner denied knowledge of VAJ or spouse's contact to cancel services. First red flag was Scheduler and Aide arriving in front of our apartment building and accruing work time without ever having met the veteran.

Terrible communication and follow up, I can't say enough how this adds additional stress on a family. Most of the caregivers are friendly, however their skill levels vary wildly. Some don't have basic hygiene skills. Considering how much the company makes versus the actual caregivers, you would think they would use that money to create a more effective accounting and management team. I will never use this company again.

They sent an illegal from Haiti. She cannot speak English. She speaks a little Spanish as do I. It's really not enough. She speaks French and I don't. I have to dictate into my phone and then translate it. I have to train her for every job in the house. The company is terrible and does not keep their word. This is in Lynn Massachusetts. The local office I believe is in Peabody Massachusetts. Stay away from these people.

The Townsville Right at Home service was provided to us through Carer Gateway - it was meant to be a means of support. Right at Home Townsville made this an incredibly difficult and extremely stressful experience. The lack of communication, lack of transparency, lack of honesty (eg - lying about referral receipt, hanging up intentionally when I called to ask about resumption of services), the gross over charging for cleaning services - the entire experience has been terrible and despite the people who came to our house being lovely, I would not recommend Right at Home Townsville.

This Company works With the name Right At Home and for some reason it doesn't appears on the DEO when you apply for unemployment. It appears as Glem Health Inc. I got to know this when I work for RAH and Had to give information to the DEO unemployment. Well I really don't know too much about it or what is the purpose or if is the HR of the Right At Home Agency for the seniors.

I can say even the staff and Management are very lovely and try hard to understand you and any problems. They need more organization and coordination. Is hard to get what the employees need when it comes to documents. Also the clients and how much an employee gets paid. No benefits at all. At the end have to live the company cause I got sick more than one time. There are many clients who needs two people to take care of them. One Caregiver can't and is not good to lift a bed bound patient. Well my problem now is getting my pay stubs online or by mail. Ask for 4 month in a row and still same answer and receive no email.

I signed up with Right at Home & they had someone set up to start. The lady never showed up. I called Right at Home to advise this and they immediately sent a replacement who came out & said she could start the following day. The lady sent me a text the following morning advising that she was sorry but could not be there because she got pulled over. That was it.... No more communication from her or anyone from Right at Home; no explanation or apology, nothing. I had to come home & take care of my mother.

I signed up with the Plainview Right At Home care for my elderly mother. To say I was extremely disappointed in their services and health aides would be an understatement!!

    1. The office help rarely followed up on my any of my calls.

    2. The first aide that was assigned to my mother cancelled at the last minute because she didn't want to drive in the rain!

    3. Another day, the new health aide that was assigned to my mom didn't bother to show up. When I called the office to find out what was going on they told me that they were unable to get in touch with her because she wasn't answering her cell phone and they didn't know where she was.

    4. The last straw came last week when they scheduled still another aide for two days to be with my mom while I was on vacation. Before I left I double checked with the agency to make sure everything was set, the dates, times and even the name of the aide too. While I was away, the day before the aide was supposed to come, I received a call on my cell phone from the owner of the company telling me that the aide will not be coming to take care of mom because they assigned her to someone else.

    5. He also lied to me and said that someone from the office called my house to let me know they cancelled but when I got home there was NO message on my answering machine OR on the caller id on the phone.

    6. I was livid with the unprofessionalism of the staff and especially from the owner!

    7. I would NEVER recommend this agency to anyone!!!!

We hired this service one year ago to assist my Dad with caregiving of my Mom with Alzheimer's. The individual franchise owner provided good service and was easy to access. Just a few days ago my Dad received an email saying they were closing the business at the end of the week - only 3 days notice! The franchise was closed by the parent company since it had not achieved its goals of additional client growth although the franchise owner said his business was running smoothly. It is completely unacceptable for a company that exists in order to provide services for people who are dependent on their caregivers to close their doors with such short notice. If they truly cared about the people they serve and who provide their salaries, surely they could have kept this franchise open at least two weeks to give adequate time for finding replacement caregivers. Quite obvious their main concern is money rather than care of clients.

I hired the agency to take care of home and meal prep, so that I could go to my rehab services. Instead I had to stay home with each of the workers because they didn’t understand what to do. Both workers were unable to put things back where they found them, leaving my small apartment with the trip and fall hazards like a broom dropped across the floor and small trash containers in random places. One of the helpers actually damage, Watch out photographed and sent of the company but they did not take responsibility, And said it was her word against mine and clearly they thought I was a liar. I was treated with disrespect by the company and above all that was most problematic to me.

Despite my giving Right at Home very clear priorities of what I needed, the helpers, seem completely unaware of those priorities and were not matched to them them. When I called Right At Home, their Response was to read me the self assessment checklist the employee had given to them stating their capabilities. My #1 priority was cooking, and my lowest priority, #10, was laundry.

The helper who did damage, did not clearly understand English and could not read the labels and cleaning supplies. Despite being told not to clean the 60” TV, she put laundry stain remover on a rag and wiped the TV and must have seen her mistake because I found the wet rag hidden in a drawer and the stain remover stick left by the TV. I called the Right at Home manager and sent a photo, assuming they would be responsible. Instead they said it was her word against mine and sent me pages of instructions they had Googled for cleaning the TV. I had to remind them that my disability was the reason I hired them for care! If could stand on the stepstool, reach over to the TV and wipe it, I wouldn’t need their services.

Yesterday, for example, my top priority was for her to grill some chicken I had marinated that I could use for the next couple of days. Instead she did unnecessary laundry, washing a bag of rags from under sink, folded them perfectly, and relocated them to my bedroom closet, piled neatly on the shelf next to my tank tops! This was a Friday and she was scheduled to return Monday. An hour before it was her time to leave I reminded her that I asked her to go out and grill the chicken. She would do that on Monday!

Rather than trying to get fair compensation for damage done, I realize I was spending so much time emailing them and documenting what was happening, but the stress involved in dealing with the agency was not worth the services I was receiving. So I decided to cut my losses and fired Right at Home after that first week.

Used this service for my disabled wife to get a ride to dialysis and back. They sent an elderly woman who can't drive at night for a 6:30 am ride, so my wife drove herself and the Right at Home person rode along, and performed one service - putting her wheelchair in the van and taking it out, for a total of $94. Seems ridiculous to me to pay someone you don't know to sit next to you while you drive yourself.

I needed help with in home caregivers to support my husband following brain surgery that left him permanently disabled. This company assured me they run background checks and would not place anyone in my home that they would not place in their own homes. While not all caregivers were criminals and some were good, they placed a young woman with my husband 12 hours a day, three days a week, who had been arrested earlier the same year and had been in jail a few years earlier. She was a recovering addict with a difficult past. She was a deceptive, manipulative liar who wreaked havoc in our home. I would not recommend using them unless you personally see the background check results and have opportunity to interview each caregiver carefully.

We have had this company for two years. Half of the caregivers do not speak English, don’t follow the ‘care plan’, always in a rush to leave, and owners are inconsiderate and RUDE - so is the nurse “manager” - they should NOT be running a business let alone employing such terrible people who are only hired to basically babysit your loved one (on their phones most of the time)! FURIOUS!

The big problem we had was with the owner, she constantly lied constantly to cover her ** about not returning calls, blaming caregivers for not being at someone else’s house when they were scheduled to be here and were actually here. Please don’t use their services. And if you’re looking for work, please look elsewhere.

Was employed to Right at Home @ 212 Medford Ave in Patchogue, New York. I was employed as a caregiver working 4 days live in 24 hours. After months of issues with my salary and my many requests for direct deposit I had no choice but to quit. Right At Home presently owes me a final check and is refusing to pay. At first they said my check was not released because I did not mail in time sheet. I had given my time sheet to the weekend girl to deliver in person as she drove and lived in area. Today agency said Medicare is investigating because they suspect I was forging clients signature. They said signature on my time sheets does not match that of previous aides. I called daughter of client who called agency to clarify. Daughter said coordinator was very rude and tough and they had no choice but to switch to a new agency.
