I received a link for a Harry's free trial. The link says "oops we missed a spot." After texting with Harrys and trying different links they sent, the only thing found was a sign up for more products. What a bait and switch idea. This offer was in VALPAK and was invalid.
I purchased Harry’s Razors after seeing many reviews. I previously used Dorco until they were bought out. Costco had a great deal. I haven’t cut myself shaving since I was 15. With the blades I lost an inch of skin in one part and a deep cut in another. Not to mention tons of nicks and cuts. The handle feels cheaply made. I will never buy them again. It reminds me of the 2 blade razors from the dollar store.
I have been using Harry's for a few years. In the beginning the blades were great, and I got a nice shave. All that's changed. My last three orders of blades have been so dull it has actually been painful to shave. They have a serious quality issue. It's almost like the blades had already been used. In desperation I went out and bought one of those razors that sells their blades for almost $3 per blade. Worth every penny! I am back to having a good shaving experience.
"Help! My dog ate my razor." Unopened Christmas gift, until my 9 month old pup opened it for me with disastrous affects. After sharing a sad pic of the munched up razor, Chris from Harry's responded immediately with understanding of my frustration, kindness toward my pup and a replacement razor. Beyond grateful. Not to mention what a great razor it is... Now that I am able to use! Harry's is an extraordinarily responsive, customer-focused company. Are you hiring?! Thank You, Harry's!
I am 69 with an average growth. Shaving 3 times a week. Tried these out and found them lacking. After only 3 shaves had to throw it away. They are dangerous and well, as one single blade slipped out and cut me pretty good. Would never use these again.
Been using Harry’s blades for around 3 yrs. At first I was very pleased with the shave and the price. However about 6 months ago I thought to myself that “these blades don’t seem to be lasting long.” So I bought a Gillette Fusion Mega Pak from my local wholesale club. Lo and behold....I did not know what I was missing. I’ve not done a mathematical analysis, but I don’t need to. I can say with certainty three things:
- A dull Fusion is about 100 times more comfortable than a dull Harry’s.
- Cost per shave is MUCH lower with the Fusion.
End of story.
Everything was good except to that I didn't receive the color of razor I ordered. Was giving as a gift and didn't want two of the same color since I was giving them to people that live in the same home.
The razor head is so wide you CAN'T shave around facial hair. You can't detail. It's either shave it all off or don't at all. The blades feel like they are at a weird angle. I don't like the grip. 10 bucks in the garbage. Gillette throw away are better, they last longer and you can shave around your beard easy.
The razor is a poor substitute for the Gillette blades I've used to decades. That's almost acceptable given the price difference but if I wanted a poor shave for less money, the supermarket already has plenty of choices... some cheaper than Harry's. But the worst is the shave gel. In the days of Covid, wearing a mask after shaving with the gel is like being smothered by a satin pillow in a French **. Threw my set in the trash.
Have been using over a year - so glad you can but refills at Meijer and Target now. High quality blade lasts me 2 weeks daily shave with heavy beard. Sure beats Gillette and Schick on price and quality - wife loves hers too.
These blades belong at the butcher slaughterhouse.. dont do it!! They need to improve on the weight of the head. Cheap plastic razor head. Not what I expected out of this.. This product needs to focus on the quality. Not quantity!! For the dollar.
After years of ordering razor blade cartridges from Harry’s this company turned to be a fraudulent scammer. They will take your online order but actually never ship. Weeks later when you try to find out what happened to the delivery, Harry’s comes up with million excuses and requests for address confirmation. You’ll never receive your order. Save yourself money and aggravation and buy your blades somewhere else.
They tell you it’s a “trial” then charge you for a membership and started kit. Then you cancel because the razors feel like cheap disposables and they charge you again for a membership fee because you didn’t cancel both the orders and membership. Better off and cheaper buying at the local store.
This razor is cheaply made! The head doesn't stay connected to the handle. The damn thing falls off the handle every damn time! Yeah the colors are better but Dollar Shave Club has better quality. Get your ** together!!
Bottomline is the blades don't last. By the 3rd shave, there is irritation. The big brands last 5 to 7 days for about a quarter more with less irritation. I was skeptical of the fancy packaging of Harry's. I really wanted to like the product. I do enjoy the soap.
I am an old marketing guy so I understand the power of advertising and market saturation with TV, radio and print ads. I've seen tons of them for Harry's Razor. I have helped many companies achieve great success but only those products that I tested and believed in. Slick ads, cool packaging and ad buy saturation might get you to 1st base and a good possibility of stealing 2nd.
I bought a Harry's Razor and extra blades at Walgreens a few days ago. I used it for the first time yesterday morning and it was not a good experience... Dullest blade I've ever shaved with. I've used Gillette and Schick blades for weeks and they stayed sharper than the Harry's blade right out of the box. Used it again with a new blade this morning... Same result and 10 minutes ago I tossed it all in the garbage. One more lesson that product performance is the only thing that makes a good product succeed.
5 blade trial cartridge- not worth it. A 3 blade Bic offers a better smoother less irritating shave for lots less. A subscription would be more "salt in the wound". With no money back guarantee Harry's made out, I'm just "out".
A friend gave me his 8 surplus Harry's blade cartridges, but I had no handle. So I invested $3 and ordered the starter kit with the handle and one cartridge.
Because I am cheap, I hate to throw things away if they work at least OK. Sometimes, I will use a thing that has less than satisfactory performance, just to get some of the utility out of it. That was my plan for the now 9 Harry's cartridges I owned: even if I don't love them, I will use them until I run out. Well, after two tries, I decided to cut my losses and toss all 9 cartridges and the handle in trash and return to my trusted 3-blade Mach 3 disposables.
Here is my experience: When I tried to shave, the blade would feel like it was catching on the hairs. I had a feeling I had to use more force than I would normally have to use to effect the cut. Because of that, I had a feeling like I was not sure that the force I had to exert on the handle was going to end up driving the blade into my skin. Shaving with the blade felt uncomfortable and resulted in a lot of irritation of my skin.
As an engineer, I tried to analyze what makes the Harry's perform so miserably. I found the answer in the way the blade head and its pivoting system is designed:The pivot point of the flexing head is not in the center of the blade plane, like the Mach 3 is, instead it is just in front of the first cutting blade. I guess the theory is that you kind of drag the five blades behind the pivot point and the 5 blades trail behind and follow the contour of the shaved skin. Unfortunately, this design gives you a little control over the force and its direction on the blades as they interact with the skin and the hairs being cut. If the hairs are tough and the first blade requires more pulling force, the blade head will have a tendency to tilt the trailing blades away from the skin while driving the leading blade into the skin. That is how you can end up with some nasty cuts.
I got bombarded with ads on Instagram and Facebook from Harry’s. With clever advertising, good packaging and overall brand image got excited about the product. I’ve never been fond of Gillette (that’s what I've always used), so decided to give Harry’s a try and got really excited about getting getting my first set. About a week later I get it and go to shave right away. Unfortunately, it didn’t meet my expectations:
2. Next, you could hear the the crackling sound when you shave, I guess because the razor is not as sharp.
3. The angle of the blades makes the hair sharp and as a result my face feels like strong sand paper.
4. Cleaning the blade under the water after each stroke takes too long. The gel and the hair get so stuck in between that you have to hit the razor against the sink every time to get them out.
At the end, half of my face is razor burnt, with more razor bumps that I’ve ever seen and hurts like I scratched it with sand paper really hard. Such a shame because I got so excited about it: (It’s just a better version of disposable cheap razors. All this made me realize that gillette actually makes good razors.)
Harry's ad states that the offer includes five blade razor cartridge. I expected to receive five blades loaded into a plastic cartridge as most other companies blades are packed and sold. I received only one blade. Although Harry's website correctly refers to blade as the unit that fits on the handle, in the ad the word blade is to be interpreted as the individual blades making up the "blade" that fits on the handle. Bottom line is Harry's Special Offer deal is no deal, it is a rip-off as all of their other overpriced products are.
John from Harry's writes back "We have never encountered this issue but we totally understand that we may not be a good fit for you and respect your right to shop with other companies." John is right, Harry's dishonest advertising is not a good fit for me and I will not shop at Harry's ever again. Beware before ordering anything from Harry's.
Rikkity Razor. Nuff said - after several shaves, the razor blade fell to pieces - also, the blade itself kept coming dis-attached from the handle - this is nothing but a cheap product at cheap price - the amount of money they put into advertising would be better spent on engineering a viable, competitive product.
I just bought a Harry’s razor from Target. Wanted to try it before but didn’t want to pay shipping and handling or set up a subscription like the website wants you to do. For the reason stated above they got a 4 star rating. Compared to the Mach 4 this blade set up does just as good of a job at less cost. I have the type of facial hair that once you shave it looks like it came right back so trust me I’ve tried every razor out there. Mach 4 was my go to but I will say this - for 9.99 you get a shaver and an extra blade and a case to help dry and protect your current blade for the price of 1 mach4. Harry’s razor comes with a fine touch blade at the top just like all the others. I will say the positioning of this is not in the normal place as other razors spacing is off a bit. With that being said I took a little bit more off my side burns than I was hoping to but the angle on the finishing touch blade is better and gives you a cleaner trim.
I decided to try Harry's without subscribing after Dorco closed their USA Website. The first blade I tried was so dull that I interrupted my shave to dispose of it and used a Mach 3 instead. The second blade did a poor job, so I prepped with a premium pre-shave oil. Afterwards I felt as though I had dry shaved. The third blade, along with the razor and all remaining product, is in the trash. Caveat Emptor!
Without a doubt one of the worst razor blades I have used. I'll take a Gillette Trac 3 over this blade any day of the week and pay twice as much if I have to. I have never been nicked all over my face as much as when using a Harry's blade. When I called them to complain I was told by a young lady I might be shaving incorrectly! (I am 65 and have been shaving for almost 50 years!!!) The blades:
2. Become dull after a shave or 2.
3. Do not glide to conform to your face.
4. Are simply too large to give a good shave.
It certainly sounded good when I did a price comparison, but as the old adage goes (and is so true) "you get what you pay for." Take my advice and spend a little more to get a close, comfortable and blood free shave!
Just ordered my first pack of razor blades. And they had a US$10 mystery gift offer. Just for the heck of it, decided to get it. To my utter shock, what I got was a US$1 razor stand, which I would never use. And to add insult to injury, I was charged tax on this piece of crap. Don't fall for the marketing gimmicks.
Do not waste your money on these razors! They are truly the worst I’ve ever tried! I have not had razor burn since the 80’s when I tried a disposable free razor from a hotel when I forgot my own! These are garbage!
REDEEM YOUR TRIAL OFFER AT; HARRYS A $13.00 VALUE, ALL YOURS. (Trial set includes: Truman razor, Shave Gel, and Travel Cover) "Not True". This offer is contingent on a purchase. By luring the consumer with an offer like this they manage to up their ranking online. It's deceiving and unappreciated, a total turn off. Now I'm uninterested in trying your product and your marketing has backfired.
First off, men's face razors are not meant for shaving women's bodies; it's been said time and time again. Nuff on that. I just bought a Harry's razor today, got it home and read some horrible reviews. I didn't even want to try it because I have a lot of round features (chin, jaw-line, around mouth). I have used a Mach 3 for as long as I can remember having to shave everyday in the military, so about 22 years. I was actually afraid of the 5 blades, it definitely didn't feel right against my face. However, it only took one pass (with shaving cream) to remove my stubble. I didn't have to press down like, I have never pressed down on any razor, you'll remove skin that way. Granted it's only been one day, but I will see just how many shaves I can get with 1 razor and provide an update. For now I am happy I'm not paying $15 for refills for the moment.
Terrible! Handle is so slippery that getting a firm grip is difficult. So lightweight that it doesn't achieve a close shave. Blades are NOT very sharp and don't last very long... 3 shaves. Starts pulling hairs out and leaving bumps. MORE COSTLY IN THE LONG RUN THAN A QUALITY RAZOR because of having to buy new razors so often. We have gone back to Mach 3, as the razor head lasts for 2 months, has an excellent grip, and has weight to it leaving a very close shave.
Had I read the reviews here I very likely would not have ordered this product, which would have been a shame. I was, reviews or not, very skeptical, since I have been an enthusiastic buyer of Gillette products for years. But what the heck, Harry’s pretty much offering you to try for free, and so I eventually ceded to the temptation to place the order (after seeing the ad about 280 times).
I have very sensitive skin, and can’t shave every day. I’m not especially prone to cuts, but have to be careful. I am quite frankly amazed by this product. It delivered the closest shave with the least effort I have experienced, including with Gillette’s vibrating (and annoying, but very effective) razor. It feels good in the hand, I appreciated the greater flexibility of the blades, and experienced no irritation. I have no clue whatsoever about what some of the reviewers are referring to.
Dull blades? No, I have experienced those from competitors and these are as sharp as a razor can get. Perhaps they are not ideal for women, I don’t know, although I have seen some very positive reviews from women, as well. Perhaps they are not perfect for everyone’s face - I don’t know that any product is. But in terms of sheer observations or assessment I can’t square most of these negative reports at all with my own experience. I can’t of course say anyone is “wrong,” but readers have the right to an alternative view.
