I bought a van from BraunAbility. It has the door that opens on the side, the driver's door that tilts so I can get in and out of the passenger door. It's a full-fledged van and the middle seat is out of it. That's where the wheelchair goes and we got the metal wheelchair lift that lays out. BraunAbility's rep was about the best you could get. They were on time, upscale, assertive, communicative, and honest. There was no pressure and they explained the product well. They made sure before I left that everything was done correctly and I knew how to do things in case of an emergency. They were immaculate and I'd recommend them.

So far, everything is fine with the van. It does make a little bit of noise when on a bumpy road. But it's an aftermarket product going into a Chrysler Pacifica which had 38,000 miles on it. I just paid to have the stuff put in it. Other than that, it's perfect and it hasn't quit running yet. So we're quite content with it, to a degree. If the noise got worse, then we would take it back to the dealer.

BraunAbility was recommended by the place that we took our van to to be modified, and they did a great job. They modified the van so it now has an in-floor ramp. We're very happy with the vehicle. It's quiet. We're very happy with the modification as well but when they did it, they took out any venting for air or heat in the rear so that's quite uncomfortable. Other than that, BraunAbility is a great company and we would use them again.

The accessible van has been very helpful. Our daughter uses a wheelchair. We use the van almost daily for taking her to programs and appointments, et cetera. It was something that was part of our daily routine. The van we had previous to this was a VMI conversion and that one worked fine. But we saw the opportunity to get this van from a local dealer and we decided to try the BraunAbility version. The mechanism itself seems to work fine. It's straightforward in terms of how to use it. However, because of all the electronics and the way the conversion is done, there are very few storage places inside the van itself. It's not a big deal. But for instance, there's no place to put a Kleenex box. Other than that, everything works smoothly. We haven't had any problems with it.

    John,

Thank you for sharing your experience with us! It's delightful to know that your BraunAbility van has been instrumental in supporting your daughter's daily activities. We're thrilled to hear you've had a smooth and issue-free experience over the past year and appreciate your feedback on the conversion's efficiency. I bought a 2022 Chrysler Pacifica, and BraunAbility converted it. They cut the whole floor out of the van, weld in a new frame and undercoated the whole thing. It's super nice and has made life easier. I went through MobilityWorks and that in itself was great as well. The price was good.

We purchased a BraunAbility van with the in-the-floor ramp. I've had BraunAbility before, and this is my third van. I went through the mobility dealers. They just showed me all the different products and a couple of other ramp systems by different companies and different vehicles. But in my opinion, Braun is always superior. So, I chose to continue with their product.

Quality-wise, it's been great so far. The last one was a Toyota Sienna. And the way the new Toyota is a hybrid, its conversion looked horrible because it rides so high over the wheel. I went with the Honda and this is the first time we purchased the Honda Odyssey. I'm really happy with its excellent quality. Haven't had any defects or seen any flaws. And honestly, I really didn't want too much between the van price and the conversion price. It is what it is.

I live two hours away from Indianapolis, where I purchased my van. They aren't open on Saturdays, but they did open on a Saturday morning for me to come over and do some test drives. I think it said on the website that other hours are by appointment, which was very nice.

My van is a Chrysler Pacifica 2024. And it's been altered by BraunAbility to meet my needs as a handicapped veteran. Well, all of my handicap vehicles have all been BraunAbility, and I just go through one company.

I started in Northern Maine. And my sister was driving it yesterday to get me to my appointment at the VA hospital. She said it drives like a tank, and then I said that it does have a bit of a heft to it, but it's got a great engine underneath, and it sounds good on the throat.

I always speak highly of how everything comes out. Some things, you gotta go back and say, it isn't working, and it's mostly because of the fact that you're cutting the vehicle basically in half, and then putting it back together.

And that you're messing with the wiring harness, which can be an ongoing issue. But other than that, I would always say go out and get one, try it. It's always good quality. I've had several vehicles. I go for like two years, and then I get another one. So, I've had quite a few.

I just love everything about it and what they've been able to turn it into. It's expensive, but the VA helps me, and I have a monthly payment, but it's worth having the opportunity. I started with a lift on the back of my Hummer and would ride up on that, buckle it down, ratchets.

And then I’d go and walk around and get into the driver's seat. There's so much rain and snow that it drives me to think that I'd really like something I could just drive in, and then I can get to my block.

And that I'm either switching seats to drive or I'm gonna stay in my seat, depending upon what it is. I think that the opportunity to have that versus outside was huge. It was hard to get rid of my Hammer, I have to say. It was not easy.

But I think, out of all of the vehicles, one was a disaster. I've had two Toyotas, and they even knew they did business with another company they shouldn't have, and they put a four-cylinder into our big, huge, heavy van, and wondered why everybody was complaining. So, they stopped.

They took back the vehicles and gave everybody a different one, and said, “No longer seeing things out there. We're just gonna grab it. I think they're just trying to do it. It was during the pandemic or after the pandemic.

But other than that, I think the company does very well. They take care of their customer service-wise and everything. So, I wouldn't have any complaints.

I manage a residence and we have two wheelchair accessible vans from BraunAbility, one big van holds two wheelchairs and six people, and we also have a smaller van that holds one wheelchair and three to four people. It makes it very easy for us to get around, go on regular outings, or take our residents to appointments. The vans are pretty good. When the lease is up, they come to pick up the van and drop off a new van, so they’ve always been precise. I don't have to do anything but sign the paperwork and get the keys. They’ve always been very nice and professional, and I’ve never had any issues with them. I did recommend BraunAbility to a family member because of the wheelchair accessibility, and they wound up getting a smaller van because they’re a small family.

I have had nothing but issues since we bought our vehicle from Braunability. Our brand new vehicle spent the first 2 out of 3 months in the shop. We told the manager we wanted a different vehicle and by Ohio lemon law should have got one. The manager told us we would get one but they still needed their lender vehicle back. Needless to say the new vehicle never happened. Now with less than 10,000 miles the ramp side door wouldn't close. It has to be physically pushed shut. Then it ripped of the trim (which they did replace). Now, and again, with less than 10,000 miles the AC is not working. The radio works when it wants to which is most times it works. Other times it freezes up or just won't turn on at all. So when you are backing up you could literally back into traffic because of their faulty vehicles.

The person that sold us the vehicle told us to come in once a year for maintenance so the extend ten year warranty will stay valid. Then when we go in for the door issue the manager asks "do you pay for it or is it paid for by the other people?" The "other people" is a special needs trust. The money in that trust came from a child that paid with his quality of life (us too). But my point is that's how they see you and money. They don't care about you or where it is coming from they just want more. The same manager knew this when we first talked but he jumped on his phone and was so unprofessional maybe he didn't hear me.

Anyway, I said it can be paid for either way. He then said "why not bring it in every six months and let them pay for it?" I could go on and on about how conniving this company is and their partners. I am thankful to report I have saved 4 families (that I know of) from this place. Please, please buy somewhere else. They are overpriced, price gouge, and have the worst service. My husband actually has a YouTube channel showing everything we have went through with the audio proving everything that was said. Including talking to Carrie Ray and still nothing happened to help us. Please save YOURSELF.

P.s. shared a photo so you could look it up for yourself. Go to braunability and Chrysler to look at the markups we paid (about $10,000)

Please rest assured that your vehicle is still under warranty. As far as the concerns with your radio and backup camera go, we did notice that Chrysler currently has a recall out on this concern. The recall # is 24V-436. We don’t deal directly with BraunAbility. Everything goes through Siebert. We needed a replacement part and couldn’t have it shipped to us. It was a body part, and Siebert had to order it. We had to pick it up from them.

BraunAbility would only ship the part to Siebert. They wouldn’t drop ship it to us. We had to arrange extra shipping from Siebert to us or go down and pick it up ourselves. That was a nuisance.

I got a wheelchair van with the turn seat. The quality of the product is great. I bought it from Access Vans, but I think that they put in the seat and the hand controls. The ramp was the thing that was done. When the people are selling the vehicles, they say that there's a $1,000 rebate for people with disabilities. I was under the understanding that I was supposed to receive that $1,000. But since I had a third party pay for my modifications, that $1,000 wasn't there. I don't understand how that is.

If I have my grandma pay for it, if I have a business pay for it, or if I have a nonprofit pay for it, that $1,000 should still be granted to the person that buys the vehicle, or don't share that information. I don't know if that's on Braun, if that's on Access, or if it's on Honda. But that's the only complaint I have.

I like my van from BraunAbility with the undercarriage, slide-out ramp, and the swivel seat. The controls came with them too, maybe. Without it, I can’t be where I’m at today. Getting it is the best decision I made thus far. The only one hiccup I have is on my swivel seat. Even though it’s brand new, every time I transfer into it, I have to reach down and tap the forward or back button for it to go. I would hate to drive over three hours just for them to try to fix it. Also, it’s expensive, and if something breaks, the insurance may not pay for it. People in wheelchairs or who are disabled don’t have the funds to pay out of pocket to get it fixed. Other than that, the product is good.

I like how comfortable the ramp is and being able to get around and handle my day‑to‑day activities. I haven’t really dealt with BraunAbility directly, though. I’ve never interacted with them personally. I’ve only bought vehicles that already had the ramp installed.

I like the sliding ramp. It’s much better than the folding one I had before, which I didn’t really like. This one slides out from underneath the vehicle, and I like it a lot more. That said, they could come down on the price a bit. It’s costly, but I need it.
