We’re sorry to hear about your experience and understand how frustrating it can be when you’re trying to get straightforward answers.

At this time, we don’t have any record in our system that would indicate we’ve previously connected with you or that your information was captured. That certainly isn’t the experience we want anyone to have.

BraunAbility is a good company. If others really pay attention to detail for individuals with special needs, it's a good vehicle. The conversion is good to help transport their disabled family members.

The only thing is that the ramp sometimes gets stuck when you hit the button. It doesn't go right away. You have to hit the button twice for the ramp to deploy, and then I have to take it for service. I don't have time to drive it up to Saddle Brook. It's 200 miles away. I would have to pay the driver $300 one way to come pick up the van and I'm not doing that.

We've had BraunAbility for about one year now, and we're really pleased, overall. Initially, we researched various brands and wheelchair-accessible van dealers, and after seeing what BraunAbility had available in the products that they offered compared with other dealers, we went with them. We like the updated features that they had of the roll-in side entry ramp that works well with the Toyota Sienna. It's a great product. It's a modification, so some of the hardware components have rusted a little, but the ramp and floor has stood up very well over the first year. The screws that are used to keep it all together may not be winterproof, but otherwise, the ramp works great. It's reliable.

Having BraunAbility has been incredible. It has made a massive impact on my daughter's life and our family's life. It's given us the ability to participate more in life and activities and have access to things that we otherwise wouldn't be able to do from a sheer transport standpoint, all the way down to the little things, like bad weather. When it's raining, or if it's snowing, or absolutely frigid cold, we can quickly transfer in or out of the car and keep safe, and dry, and warm. Whereas, before, when we didn't have that, it was always a miserable experience doing transfers in and out of the van.

It’s inspiring to know how much of a positive impact the van has had on your daily life. We hope you continue to enjoy the benefits of your choice. Should you have any additional feedback or require further assistance, please feel free to reach out to us. Thank you for choosing BraunAbility!

We had the rear entry ramp put in our Chrysler Pacifica. It allows us to take our son in the community in his power wheelchair so that he can still have his independence. It's made it easier for us as caregivers getting him in and out of the vehicle. We've got a lightweight foldable power chair that we can put in a regular car but we would have to physically transfer him. He's 20 and weighs 150 pounds so that's not so easy to do anymore.

We've just had this van for a year and it's brand-new. This is our second rear entry and we haven't had a problem with either one. We've been happy with BraunAbility and the product. We would just love if they could come up with a way to block out road noise cause when you convert the van, we lose all of the road noise blockage that an unmodified van comes with. It's really noisy in the van.

Another thing that we didn't anticipate was there's nowhere to put a full-size spare tire. When you've got a 450-pound chair in the back plus the individual, and you have a flat tire, that's just not a viable option. We need to be able to have room for a full-size spare like we had in our 2013 Town & Country before. That would be great if they made that part of a rare remodel.

Then the sensor won't let the door close properly. The switch to the ramp in and out of my previous Toyota cars was a lot easier to operate than this one. We bought a Toyota Sienna mobility van from Alliance Mobility in Kelowna B.C. in August of 2018. Love the van. Love the conversion. Unfortunately we are having a serious issue with the brakes. The front rotors keep warping. We have 71000km on the van. We are now on the fourth set of rotors. I built some cooling ducts to the font rotors which helped a bit. Looking at the description on the recall it seems to me that all the issues line up with the recall as there is not much pad wear on the rear.

I have a 40 year old son who has been in a wheelchair since birth. I like BraunAbility. The floor board had been lowered 12 inches and it had the kneel on it. It's got a fold-out ramp. They got pros and cons. I like the in-floor better as far as getting other people in and out. But the fold-out works better as far as curbs. It reaches out a little further. It's made life a lot easier except for the pocketbooks. But it’s nice to be able to push a button and then he can roll in and out by himself with the kneel and the lower floorboard. Our experience has been positive. I don't think I could do life without it right now.

I feel really good about Braunability’s product, although we're having a few problems with the van right now. But it's more of a Chrysler problem than a BraunAbility problem. Just a weird battery thing.

I've been working with companies that provide services to people in wheelchairs and Braun has always done a good job. They're consistently a high-end product regardless of which kind of lift you use, so it made sense to me. I also like how it's a ramp that folds out, so there are very little things to go wrong. You just flip it out and it doesn't break down alongside the road. It's also a good van. It's easy to drive and the ramp is really easy to use. It's made it a lot easier for my participants to get into the community. You don't need to have a special parking spot to be able to park. Like on the side lift vans, you have to have wide parking spots and handicapped parking spots. With this van, you can park it anywhere and the person can exit out the back without any issues. "

    Joe,

We’re sorry to hear about your experience and understand how disappointing this must be.

To clarify, BraunAbility’s limited warranty is 3 years or 36,000 miles from the date the original owner purchased the vehicle. While tire rotations and alignments aren’t typically covered, BraunAbility does provide coverage for these items during the first 6 months or 6,000 miles.

Since your van was purchased used, it’s possible that some of that initial coverage had already expired before your purchase. We know that’s frustrating, and we appreciate you bringing it to our attention.

The car comes with a ramp and I had a hitch put on the vehicle because I traveled to Colorado with my husband who’s in a wheelchair and I usually get a small U-Haul to carry all his stuff. The bumper that they put on my vehicle never attached properly.

I went there one time to pick up a bumper. I walked in and the receptionist couldn’t be nicer. But the owner and the salesperson didn’t say hi. I had to carry the thing out myself. It’s like you don’t even exist once you make the purchase. Twice a year, I have to get the ramp serviced under my warranty so I went over there a couple of months ago and had an oil change as well. But in-between, I don’t go there for oil changes. I’ll go to a local place. Again, my salesman and the owner didn’t say hello. The service manager, though, does the best he can. Customer service is horrible. If it wasn’t that they were local, I wouldn’t even go there.

I needed a handicap van, so I bought a 2004 Honda Odyssey with side ramp from BraunAbility. I didn’t like that it cost $82,000. It’s hard on old folks to have that kind of money. They told me that I could put in a captain’s chair on the passenger side and put on a lock-in device where I could roll in there. I’m not gonna spend any more money since it’s too much already. My wife tore the mirror off the right side, so we went to the Honda shop to buy a complete mirror assembly. That was expensive. I’m pretty handy, so I did it myself and replaced it with the new one.

Everything so far has worked well for us. Both doors in the back are good. I’m able to strap myself down, and I can get in and out and make my appointments. Being wheelchair-bound, I can’t go anywhere without it. My wife can load the groceries in the back. The quality is good. My stepson drove my wife and brought my wheelchair to the hospital for me once, and he said that it’s handled like a regular car. The only problem is when I get in that wheelchair, it’s sensitive and I can go left to right quick.

I bought a van that BraunAbility redid. It's a '22 Chrysler Pacifica. It works really well. It's given me my mobility back. I'm a double amputee, so I don't really walk very far much. I made three trips to see my sister in Iowa eight hours away. I go downtown every day. It’s just like driving a Cadillac or a Harley.

We were looking for a van and we saw BraunAbility online. We went up there to look and they had one that would fit what we needed. It's been a lot easier since we had the van. They have really good service.

I bought a van from BraunAbility. It has the door that opens on the side, the driver's door that tilts so I can get in and out of the passenger door. It's a full-fledged van and the middle seat is out of it. That's where the wheelchair goes and we got the metal wheelchair lift that lays out. BraunAbility's rep was about the best you could get. They were on time, upscale, assertive, communicative, and honest. There was no pressure and they explained the product well. They made sure before I left that everything was done correctly and I knew how to do things in case of an emergency. They were immaculate and I'd recommend them.

So far, everything is fine with the van. It does make a little bit of noise when on a bumpy road. But it's an aftermarket product going into a Chrysler Pacifica which had 38,000 miles on it. I just paid to have the stuff put in it. Other than that, it's perfect and it hasn't quit running yet. So we're quite content with it, to a degree. If the noise got worse, then we would take it back to the dealer.

BraunAbility was recommended by the place that we took our van to to be modified, and they did a great job. They modified the van so it now has an in-floor ramp. We're very happy with the vehicle. It's quiet. We're very happy with the modification as well but when they did it, they took out any venting for air or heat in the rear so that's quite uncomfortable. Other than that, BraunAbility is a great company and we would use them again.
