    I’m over all the extra charges. Drivers who don’t check expiration dates, don’t look properly for items and try substitute with the most expensive item instead of the same or similar price. The delivery window will keep changing but not when you pay for priority. Shoppers shop for 3 or more people at a time so when. The item you want the most disappears but you have paid - they refund. Yet you can’t get that item. It would be a whole new shop. The extra charges added to the bill always have an excise. Is $19 a year worth it? HELL NO. There is always aggravation with every order. The 2 receipts were both after shopper was finished. One via app and one via email. See the difference. I rest my case.

    I paid for an annual subscription and have spent too much time on the phone with customer service. The latest bug is that when is the website goes completely blank because of the pop-up overlay to rate your last order experience. Same result in THREE different browsers. A screenshot is included, and the website is still not fixed. Moreover, Instacart shut down my account for several days claiming "unusual activity." I had to upload verification documents several times because they didn't receive them. Order delivery can go smoothly, but I have received items that I did not order, and delayed delivery times.

    Delivery person delivered to the wrong house. $180.00 worth of groceries! Called Instacart and they said my claim was denied and I would not be refunded my money. Can you believe that! Call center is based in India of course.

    Just looking at this company's reviews makes one question why do we even bother with this company. I will never recommend it to anyone or ever use them again. One star out of 10,528 reviews makes one wonder how and why these companies are allowed to stay in business. Their ethics and honesty are very questionable; this company cannot be trusted. With the many and last (5.22.25) bad experience(s) I have had, do not give this company a chance as you will regret it, like many of us do.

    Order food from Instacart Restaurants. Never received the order, driver went to a completely wrong address when contacted he took an additional 30 mins to waste time, then a block away marked it as completed when it was not. When contacted he claimed Uber had cancelled it and it would be another 20 mins until he would deliver. Received a refund on the food that never arrived but the guy got my food and $4 tip which is becoming a bigger issue to receive a refund on. Customer service department does nothing, claims they will escalate the issue but then the email responses just say I already received a refund and close the case. Will never order from them again and have cancelled our business membership because of it.

    Hold auth for 128.40, my order came to $115.83. I understand it takes a few days for that to update but they then placed another hold also for 128.40 which overdrew my account and the communication I received back is basically trash. Never use them. It’s not worth the stress, and nastiness of that platform.

    Just tried to cancel my free Instacart trial. Most annoying process. You have to contact customer service and they try to retain you with lots of questions, then transfer you to another department, who starts the process over again, but much more aggressively to the point of being rude. After 45 minutes with customer service, I hope my trial is cancelled.

    To add to the many complaints here—this is my last resort. Instacart has refused to refund me for a double charge on my account from March 21, 2025. I provided clear screenshots, contacted customer service multiple times (including via Facebook), and even filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Despite all this, Instacart still refuses to refund me for a charge that was their error.

    I’m not posting here expecting a resolution—I’m exhausted from trying to deal with this. As a longtime Instacart+ member and credit card holder, I’ve spent years supporting this company. That ends now. I will be canceling my Instacart credit card and will no longer use their services for any reason. I’m only posting this to say: BUYER BEWARE. If something goes wrong, don’t expect Instacart to make it right.

    Always late. Gives changing range of times. Go thru doordash or Uber eats groceries for actual time adherence and someone who follows directions. They also will charge you twice if paying with food stamps and or debit card. Often have to credit it back. Just a hassle.

    Absolute scam. They accepted 2 orders for Mother's Day flowers delivery, and provided times for delivery. They cancelled both orders at exactly promised delivery time. Because of them, I managed to upset two women on the Mother's Day. Never again.

    I have been a shopper since March 2025. It’s now May 2025 and they have not paid me. There’s always some new excuses and I’m getting nowhere with customer service. This has been an absolute nightmare and I don’t know if I will ever get paid. I do not recommend working for this company under any circumstances.

    I was signed up for InstacartPlus, apparently after a 14 day free trial, which I did not approved. Lots of runaround without resolution. Received an email on membership. Thought it was a scam, but confirmed by charge. 2 online sessions without resolution. Phone call without help. Refused to refund 84$ charge.

    Don’t buy a gift card from Instacart. Mine wasn’t accepted on the app and I got multiple excuses from 4 different customer service reps, one was a supervisor. When they couldn’t figure out the problem, they discontinued the chat or disconnected the call. Now I’m out $100 and my gift recipient is out a gift. I even have the gift card receipt and order number from Instacart website which they weren’t interested in at all. Scammers.

    Absolutely INCOMPETENT customer service. I paid full price for ground bison that had a manager’s discount sticker on it. I sent these idiots pictures of my Instacart receipt and the ground bison meat packaging showing the discounted price on the packaging. They replied telling me that Instacart pricing doesn’t always show actual in-store prices. Well duh I already figured that out! I replied to them telling them I am obviously well aware of this and that I want the price I paid adjusted according to the discount. They replied with the SAME MESSAGE telling me how Instacart pricing works and how the app doesn’t always show actual in-store prices.

    I replied again telling them I know this and that I want the price I paid adjusted according. They replied with the same email saying the same thing about how Instacart pricing works. This process continued through the same email chain over the course of a few days. Absolutely inexcusable how atrocious the customer service is or the lack thereof. They price gouge the hell out of customers, screw over their delivery drivers and then hire some of the most incompetent people in customer service I have ever had the displeasure of conversing with.

    I placed a grocery order through Instacart at approximately 2:00 PM. I selected the standard “No Rush” delivery option, as I did not require express service. At the time of purchase, Instacart provided an estimated delivery window. However, after confirming my order, the delivery window was repeatedly and significantly pushed back. It is now projected that my order will arrive more than 4.5 hours after it was placed — well over an hour beyond even the originally estimated timeframe.

    I understand that “No Rush” delivery may prioritize lower urgency, but the manipulation of delivery times to this extreme degree feels punitive and abusive. It appears Instacart intentionally deprioritizes “No Rush” orders beyond reasonable expectations in order to push customers toward purchasing additional express fees in the future. This practice feels not only unethical but also manipulative, exploiting customer trust and good faith. If Instacart offers “No Rush” options with an estimated time, they should honor it within a reasonable variance. Delaying orders by hours, well outside of the promised window, is unacceptable. Customers should not be effectively punished for choosing standard service options.

    I am filing this complaint to request:
    • Greater transparency and honesty in estimated delivery times,
    • An end to excessive penalization of “No Rush” deliveries,

    • Accountability for misleading delivery practices that pressure customers into paying more.

    I would appreciate a formal response from Instacart addressing these concerns.

    I only recently started using Instacart and have been happy with the service overall, until a recent experience: I had ordered some drinks from a local liquor store and the charge went into my debit card the same day. I got my delivery - all was fine up to that point. Then a couple of days later I got a small charge on my debit card from the same store. I had not purchased anything else and thought my card had been compromised so I called my bank and asked to have it replaced.

    Instacart contacted me a couple of days ago - first saying I had ordered an additional item - I replied that I had not. They apologized and said the store had undercharged me and had added on the difference separately! I said that sounded suspicious and looking online I find it actually is not legal. I replied that this sounded unethical as well and would hope Instacart would stand behind their customers but apparently they do not. The shoppers and deliveries have been great but in order to unlock my Instacart account I had to pay the cost of the item plus a $5.00 surcharge! I would hope they would take better care of their customers.

    From January 2025 to present April 23,2025. Instacart delivered my food order (from Stop and Shop Bayonne, NJ.) to the wrong address a total of 6 times. The last time was the finishing touch. They delivered it to an abandoned home. I complained to Stop and shop, who has been more than helpful in trying to fix the problem. Instacart gave them the address and I guess they expected me to go and pick it up after paying a hefty fee for them to deliver it to the correct address. I cancelled the order and S&S gave me a credit for the order. I am 85 years old.

    Today 3 days later. I received a complaint from the mailman that there was a food order obstructing my pathway to the house. It was the order, mostly perishables, (milks, refrigerated juices, frozen foods, cold cuts, rotisserie chicken, veggies and fruit) which I assume was lying out on that porch in the sun for 3 days. I called S&S for help. They contacted Instacart. Their response was they don't go back and pick things up. I had made contact with them several times on the other orders trying to straighten out the misdeliveries. They were totally useless and arrogant about it. I don't know how they manage to stay in business with this kind of service and customer service at a high delivery price. I had problems with them other times for delivery from other stores also.

    After attempting to use their service once, for the first and only time ever for a $30 order with their fees and taxes included, the site very clearly displayed a notification that the transaction had declined. I'd used the wrong card anyway, so it was fine. I went to get my other card but before I could, I got a notification from my bank saying that Instacart had deducted $100 from my account. How did a declined transaction for $70 more than the transaction amount happen?

    I immediately went to their support page and began what ended up being a multiple day spanning event, with literally hours of time spent via their support chat portal, on the phone and by email. Their claim is that the charge is for some service they offer. I made it abundantly clear that I did not enroll in any service, did not want any service, and absolutely did not authorize any enrollment or charge and that there was some issue or problem on their end. They responded with hanging up on me, ending the chat mid-conversation, and on at least one instance, was told a bold faced lie. They have ignored multiple requests for them to furnish any proof that I enrolled in this service or authorized any charge for any services outside of the $30 that I had tried to authorize but was told did not go through.

    They refuse to hear me out, to give me back my money, and refuse to allow me to speak to any of their senior support agents or management of any kind. I have gone to the Federal Trade Commission and involved them as well as the Attorney General, the Better Business Bureau and the ADA and the governor of our state are next. (The ADA because their theft critically impacted a child with a disability.) I am having a forensic data retrieval expert examine my computer to further prove there was no consent on my part to this whatsoever and will proceed as far as is necessary until they do the right thing and give back what they stole from me and consent to have their data audited for this kind of theft elsewhere to other people. I have every conversation with them documented to convey by itself the absolutely deplorable way they treat customers. If you are wise, you won't risk it with these thieves.

    Hi. A pack of water bottles were missing from my order placed on 10th April 2025. I even called the store to confirm and they validated my call. I even added the customer service of Instacart to the conference call so that they can hear too directly from the store's employee. However even after hearing the confirmation, they have denied my refund. I highly regret referring my friends to Instacart. It is denying legitimate claims for refund. The height of cluelessness is that the customer service agent Mahima wanted me to provide a pic of the missing item. Thanks.

    My purchase through Instacart from Costco was never delivered. Instacart blames Costco for their inability to fix the problem by delivering the purchase today. Instacart's only solution is to give me a credit or make me wait a week for a refund and then I must place a new order. The Instacart customer service manager, Calvert, was unwilling to fix the problem and kept blaming Costco. I really like Costco and this is so disappointing and frustrating. I am a Costco member. Costco really needs to make Instacart treat Costco's members with the same care and attention that they provide. Instacart blaming Costco is unacceptable.

    Fraudulent three times I've had to call about refunds because they charge me for my groceries then two days later they're recharging me and this last time apparently they didn't charge me but it clearly shows on my bank they did twice two days apart from each other.     This people are no joke, they don't care about their customers, all they care is about making money no matter what. I schedule a food delivery between 7 am to 10 am. Because I was not going to be home after 10. They change the delivery window to 8/11. Well I wasn't going to be there after 10 so they left the order sitting out there for over 5 hours, I didn't got home until after 5. So why have a schedule for us to pick a time frame when we know will be home, when they are sending your order at what ever time they feel like it. Doesn't make sense.

    Beware of this people. They do whatever with your order and don't care, then try to tell you that order was on time according to the new schedule they pick. What a joke, and let's not talk about you paying a fee to get the order very soon, the orders arrive later when they feel like it, but you are charge a fee to get it very soon, very high fee. How is that. And not counting how many times this people get orders and refund items cause they don't want to go look for it, and not saying how many times you are missing so many things. The reason why people are buying directly from stores that deliver cause they are careful about your items, they take good care of the orders. Don't use Instacart if you don't want to give away your money and waste many times with them. Bad customer service when trying to contact them. The worst.

    I placed an order with Instacart yesterday, the pencil next to an item where you can add notes wasn't working. In the order, I had men t-shirts. The shopper just grabbed any size and immediately checked out. I messaged the shopper and didn't receive an answer. I received my order, the t-shirts were wrong of course. I contacted instacart, they said they will give me a credit for the item, then all of a sudden the credit in my instacart account disappeared and they sent me a email stating that they couldn't issue a credit and that I could appeal it.

    In the beginning of using instacart it was perfect, now it's horrible! Some shoppers will bring you anything melted, moldy, expired etc or not bring the item at all even when it says they shopped it. I had my items smell like weed, cigarettes, crack and meth, I had shady characters delivering my items. It's like they hire anyone! I had a lady delivered my items, higher than a kite, trying to talk to me with her mouth crooked as hell!

    The worst grocery delivery. I have never ordered groceries where the produce items were not wrapped in produce bags. Who puts lettuce, celery, green onion, fruit directly in a shopping cart, through the checkout stand without putting the items in a produce bag for sanitary, hygiene reasons. Then into the delivery car, out in the rain, in an elevator and then placed on your doorstep. Then send you a photo stating they can’t find your address so you still pay the expedited delivery fee. I contacted customer service and spoke to four different representatives. All giving me the runaround regarding a refund.

    I brought all the groceries back to the store and had the manager ready to speak to them. Still got the runaround regarding a refund. I left both bags of groceries at the store as I don’t want groceries packed by a driver who doesn’t practice basic hygiene and food handling safety protocols. Cost me $80. Still waiting for my refund and trying to cancel my free trial. Never will ever use Instacart again. Wish I had read all the bad reviews prior to ever using this company. Never will use them again. Not only did I never get my dinner made but they wasted 2 1/2 hours of my time trying to get a resolution. I'm sure they won’t be in business long with so many 1 star reviews.

    Pros:

    1. I have to admit I love the convenience of Instacart and all the shopping/restaurant options.

    Cons:

    1. The app puts the ping in a place on the map, that is not my apartment. There is no option to move it to the correct location. I have reached out to Instacart regarding this. They assured me a ticket was filed. No follow up. Still an issue. Even though I put specific directions to my apartment and the gate code, as well as send a message with the instructions, the drivers just go to the ping on the map.

    2. Most of the drivers do not speak English. Even though there is the ability in the app to send a message in their native language and have it translated to the buyers language, they do not use it. They have also called me and then told me then don't speak English. It's incredibly hard to communicate with drivers.

    3. Different drivers show up than what is provided on the app. Different cars show up. I am a single woman living alone. It's very alarming to be expecting a woman, open the door and it's a strange man standing there.

    4. The drivers will not take accept an order unless the tip is high. I placed an order today. It sat under the status of "Order has been accepted" for an hour and was never accepted by a driver. I reached out to chat support. I got a very scripted answer. I was told it was due to driver shortages and they will get to my order as soon as possible. I canceled that order and re-ordered it with a high tip. It was accepted by a driver within 2 minutes.

    Well I had two incidents with Instacart that just leaves me breathless. We placed an order for $290. We waited the whole day because the guy who took the order had multiple orders. When it finally came it was one tiny back with a few items that we do not eat and it stank like a smoke house, it just was not our order. Instacart said they would refund the purchase, but then we got a letter saying there would be no refund, instead we will get a free one month express service. For three hundred dollars! Are they crazy. So no refund. What a rip off. Instacart stop stealing from people. We need our money back. One star because I could go no lower. Should be a negative rating.

    This place is the absolute worst company ever. They give you a timeline to expect your order and then the shopper goes to the store and “waits” for more orders to come in. The chat service is in the middle east or someplace similar. Your arrival time constantly moves later and later and then they finally cancel the order. They couldn’t tell their shoppers a store was closed one day, so they kept going there (instead of another location) and cancelling orders. Absolutely the worst and most poorly executed “excellent” idea ever.

    Sadly enough, I failed to read the reviews prior to ordering!! If there was a way to give -5 that would be my review or simply-DO NOT USE INSTACART!! THEY HAVE THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED! Ordered an item, the wrong item was delivered, refused delivery and have now spent at least 3 hours trying to get a refund! Instacart wanted photos....but I did not get the item, so they cannot issue a refund....filed a claim with Paypal....they denied my claim....finally did a chargeback with credit card! In short-DO NOT USE INTACART!!!!

    Never rely on their schedule—I’ve had terrible experiences with Instacart.

    1. You might place an order today, expecting it to arrive on time, only for the schedule to change without any explanation, delaying your delivery until the next day.
    2. Sometimes, I’ve received completely different products than what I ordered, and shoppers insisted it was correct, even when the system showed otherwise.
    3. Flyers are not always up to date.

    4. Prices are higher than in-store.

    When I order Instacart At Kroger I thought it was Kroger's service and when I complained to Kroger I found out they are not Kroger. It is a different company! My fruits was overripe, they charged for items that I didn’t order or received. They overcharged the delivery fee that I didn’t authorize, took costumer service took forever and they credit only $3.50 when I was charged 12.50. I hung up the phone and lost the money but will never use them again. Use Walmart. Delivery is reliable. Scammers!

    When I called Instacart because my order was canceled I was told shopper cancelled my order because he did not want to check for expiration dates for me? I was then told I was rude to ask my shopper to check expiration dates on my items! Because (that)! Was not the shoppers job & that if I had shoppers in the past that did that for me they were doing me a favor? Instacart said that the shoppers will get me items in date? If I can't ask questions? About what I am buying then I need to find a company that has a better attitude than instacart!!! By not? Asking questions on past orders I have received plenty of expired items, damaged items, missing items, thawed out frozen items, items put on my steps when delivered with no! Bag! Items that I paid for but weren't in my order when delivered?

    It does not matter how well you tip they charge you all this money for fast delivery and half the time they canceled your delivery because they can’t find a driver or the delivery comes way after the time specified even when you paid to get it delivered faster. I have had a whole bunch of bad experience with Instacart. I do not recommend paying monthly or using it. It’s not worth it.

    Been an online customer of theirs since Covid, and as of late it keeps getting worse, the shoppers don't give a crap about quality of items picked, never look at dates, make mistakes all the time, then Instacart overcharges, they call it an padded authorization, our last order was over by 141 Dollars, and they say they refund the overage 7-10 days later but they are making daily % rate off of customer's money. Fees too high, Shoppers are too busy with too many other orders to care about yours. Most of the grocery stores have in store shopping, just have them do and pick up the order. Way cheaper and I bet the quality of items picked is better. Instacart just isn't worth it!

    Publix and Instacart are stealing money from EBT cards and not giving it back after saying they did. Authorities wont do anything to stop the abuse of disabled people in our homes. This month, they took $9.98 from a $121.24 purchase, the abuse on going, and complaints ignored, for ages.

    These delivery companies or restaurants should never ask for tips. If the driver is not getting paid enough, it is not up to the consumer to make up the gap; the employer should be paying the drivers a decent wage. But, oh, wait, it is all about corporate greed and stealing from the poor. I would rather pay tips on the "service" I receive, not as a mandatory obligation! Also, I would place an order and it would not be delivered due to a so-called "storm" or they would ask for more of a tip! Unbelievable! I guess the drivers are only "fair weather" drivers. Ridiculous!

    I was using Instacart for years and had no issues until about 6 months ago, once a driver sent picture of the receipt but I didn't receive my order. Then the excuse was driver got in a accident, my money was refunded but I didn't have my order. Another time received a picture from a driver that delivered order but it went to the wrong house, I was told that it was my house went back and forward with them and told them look at address in order then look at address on the house which was 2 different number.

    Then I started receiving orders with items missing in which I didn't want a refund I wanted the items but all they would do was a refund and free delivery for a month. You don't know is doing your shopping received a picture of a female shopper but it was delivered by a male who also didn't deliver all my items. I'm just going to stop being lazy and start doing my own shopping because the services is terrible. When you call customer service nobody speaks English and you have to keep asking them to repeat what they said. Overall bad company bad service not using them again.

    THIS company has locked my account on 12/21/24 and it is 02/16/25 and I haven’t heard anything. I’ve called over 20 times since it was locked. Customer service states I can’t talk to anyone to unlock my account. I should receive an email in 24 to 48 hours which has never happened. I have also asked for a refund on my membership and no one could help with that either. I’m very disappointed about this. ;(

    My elderly mom can’t go out in the cold weather. She didn’t receive four items that were all prepared foods totaling $40. The driver probably forgot about them as they were in the cooler bag and she either delivered them to someone else or stole them. I filled out the help form, never got a response so called. Then was told to fill out appeal form only to get a response saying it was denied. No reason, no explanation, no nothing. I called again to be told that they were sorry but the final answer is the final answer. Lmao. They clearly don’t know me. Now I will not only dispute the amount of the items not received with my credit card but will dispute the entire amount, complain to BBB and every other site available like I’m doing now. Will never use again.

    I purchased groceries for my ailing parents a year ago off a store’s website. I do not order online groceries but was assisting my elderly parents during a difficult time. InstaCart charged me for a yearly membership a week later. Why are they not making it clear that the delivery vendor is instacart? $99 later, no possibility of refund after chatting with a customer service rep for an hour. My membership is cancelled but I am out $99! Be transparent and clear, not deceptively gaining memberships fees.

    On 2/13/25 used Instacart to deliver a 5 item order from Costco. Upon delivery there was the picture of delivery box with 3 items seen. Took all items out of the box, found one box of 12 pack Noosa Yogurts were missing and two rotten apples in a 3lb bag of apples. Reported the issues to Instacart and chose refunds from missing and damaged goods. Got emails to state someone from Instacart would be in contact within 2 hours, but after 24 hours received an email from Instacart customer experience, stated Instacart is not responsible for missing and damaged items in my order, need file an appeal. So filed an appeal with attached pictures. But so far Instacart’s customer services don’t even deserve a one star.

    Is Instacart convenient? Yes. Do you get your money's worth? In short, no. They mark up the prices of the items then still charge you a service charge and delivery charge. The service charge and delivery charge amount depends on your membership type and amount you spend in the cart. The annual subscription fee is not worth it if you don't use the service that much. I ordered the same items using Doordash and instacart and surprisingly saved 20.00 on doordash.

    I’ve used Instacart without a problem for five years. My order yesterday included a “bag fee“ despite there was no bag involved. It also included a “long distance“ fee although the store is only 3 miles away (no highway / no tolls). I tried to deal w Instacart via text w their customer service rep. I GOT NOWHERE!!!! They stole money from me and are getting away with it. BEWARE! Bbb

    Order cancelled because driver sees a different address than what I see on my end in the app. Then I was charged $15. Was a Valentine's Day gift for my grandma after grandpa dying. Driver never told me nor did the app that it was cancelled. I got an email I am just now seeing after I called my grandma and told her to be on the lookout for the order. She is at home still waiting for it. Contacted customer service and no response for over 20 minutes.

    Order placed 02/11/2025: 18 items missing from my order. One damaged item received. Final charge $17 over what was on my receipt. Customer service wanted me to complete a form and wait 48 hours to be contacted in order to resolve this major issue. It’s been over 48 hours and I haven’t heard anything. Please stay away from this company. I am filing formal complaints against them.

    I will give them a zero if I could. They basically stole money out of my account for a membership that I knew nothing about. Haven’t used this service in over a year when I questioned them about the subscription fee and told them to cancel it. They told me I would get a refund within 5 to 7 days. It’s been two weeks and I’ve heard nothing and my account is still open. Very unethical business practices if you ask me.

    Absolutely horrible. Driver delivered gifted order to wrong address for my mothers birthday. I messaged the driver immediately telling her it was the wrong address (I've sent an item here before with Instacart and it went to the exact right place and didn't edit the address for this purchase). She said instacart or GPS was wrong and then I never heard back from her she never took the package to the correct address. Mind you this store is within 5 minutes of the address! I live 2 hours away and have no idea where she actually dropped this off at. To make matters extremely worse I called the customer service line and I will not even be getting a refund! I paid for a service I did not receive or get reimbursed for. The only consequences for this driver is she will not ever be allowed to deliver for me again. Are you kidding me? Like I will EVER order from instacart again. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!!!

    It was my daughter‘s birthday today. She is in college and I placed an order last night for a bouquet of flowers to be delivered to her today. I picked a time 9:00-11:00 when she would be at the dorm and able to receive them. About 45 minutes before 11:00 I received a text that delivery was delayed and it will happen 11:30-12:30. Since she would be in class at that time I called Instacart and spoke with someone to change the time to afternoon 4:00-6:00. The person I spoke to was polite and said that she would make sure it was delivered on time. She also took notes for the shopper.

    I ended up calling them again after a couple of hours and was reassured that it would be delivered on time. She had plans with her friends at 5:00 PM and since this was a surprise I asked her friends to postpone it until she received her flowers. At 5:15 I received another text from Instacart that delivery was delayed and it was going to be after 6:00 PM. I called again and ended up canceling the whole order. What a disappointment!

    I had a terrible first and last experience with this horrendous company - INSTACART. I was searching for a simple product online, Instacart allegedly showed better pricing and value, so I decided mistakenly without reading reviews on this company and its service, to order it from them by taking their 2 weeks free trial with the InstacartPlus membership. Shortly after completing the order, I started to get several text messages apparently from the driver that was supposed to pick the item up at Shoppers Drug Mart which Instacart appointed to handle my order. He texted me that he is on the way with the item I ordered. Shortly after I get a text from him saying that the item I ordered is not available and he suggested a replacement item. I did not want the replacement item as it was less value in quantity and 50% higher price so why would I want such a replacement. All these texts were automated from their system.

    I didn’t get a chance to refuse and reject the replacement. On the contrary, in the texts they indicated IF I WANT THE REPLACEMENT then to reply Yes, but I NEVER did reply Yes. Regardless, they went ahead and bought the replacement WITHOUT MY EXPLICIT AUTHORIZATION, charged me 50% more and that moron driver that handled my order and delivery bought the item with his own credit card and left the replacement item at my door shortly after. I was shocked when I got the item and saw I got half of the quantity with 50% higher cost than I originally agreed to. I called Instacart shortly after, reported this unfortunate first experience. The only thing their customer service reps know to do is to constantly apologize for the inconvenience, in my view they are reading from a script and they are obliged to follow it. I demanded a refund.

    The reps kept me on hold for quite some time and got back saying that the refund cannot be processed so I need to fill out a form to appeal for a refund. Never thought that I would need to spend so much time to get a refund, but I filled out the form, and after three days after I had to follow up with them as they did not get back to me within 48 hours, they sent me an email that my Appeal is rejected and I cannot get a refund nor a replacement. I called several times asked to talk to a manager, sent them emails with pictures of the item I got, and the receipt showing they charged me more than 50% of what I originally consented to, but got no reply whatsoever. They completely ignored me. This company, although public, is in my view engaged in fraudulent, unethical business practices.

    If I had read the reviews on any platform before ordering and saw that Instacart has one of the worst reviews I ever read on any company let alone a publicly traded company, I would never have used their services. My recommendation is to stay away like from fire from this company. I also called Shoppers Drug Mart and reported about this unethical business conduct to the store manager whom was shocked to hear all that and I told him that the fact that Shoppers, being a reputed chain of stores, is doing business with such a shady company and service like Instacart does not add to their reputation nor to their credibility. I tried to get a refund from Shoppers but I could not because the receipt indicated that it was paid with a different credit card of the stupid driver, so if Shoppers would process the refund it would go to the driver’s credit card and not mine while I would still incur the higher cost.

    This is purely a SCAM; this company should be investigated and be shut down!!! I immediately cancelled my membership, removed my credit card details from their platform and listen to this, if you want to cancel the membership it has to be in writing, and the processing may take up to 30 days, which passed by the way and I still have not heard back from them, simply outrageous!!!

    I had an extremely frustrating experience with Instacart on January 26, 2025, and I strongly advise against using their service. I placed a $218.82 order from Publix in LaGrange, GA, only to have it completely mishandled due to their app being down. Instacart failed to provide real-time updates, meaning I had no idea when my order was being shopped, if there were issues, or even when it was delivered. The shopper did not ring the doorbell, and I never received a notification that the groceries had arrived.

    As a result, my groceries—including perishable and frozen items—sat outside for over two hours in 54°F weather, spoiling completely. When I finally discovered the order, I immediately contacted Instacart's customer support and spoke with a representative named Lindor, who assured me that I would be refunded for the spoiled items, delivery fees, and the tip. Lindor instructed me to dispose of the items immediately for safety reasons.

    Despite following all instructions and submitting 12 photos as evidence, Instacart has continuously stonewalled my refund request. Their customer support team repeatedly claimed I needed to submit missing information—despite me providing everything they asked for multiple times. They even requested pictures of the spoiled food, which I had already thrown away per their own representative's instructions! After multiple back-and-forth emails and over 40 hours of waiting, they refused to issue a refund.

    Instacart’s customer service is unresponsive and misleading, and their system failures result in wasted time and money for paying customers. They do not stand behind their service guarantees, and their lack of accountability for spoiled food and failed notifications is unacceptable. If you value reliable service, accountability, and good customer support, do yourself a favor and avoid Instacart. There are better, more trustworthy grocery delivery services out there that actually care about their customers.

    I used Instacart since covid shutdown. It was always a great convenience, and most shoppers do a great job. However, recently I got charged $28 bag fee, and it is the first time this happens. My groceries were bagged in one bag, and I got charged $28. When I called customer service and emailed, they claim that is the state bag fee and that they cannot refund. I live in NYS and the bag fee for one bag cannot possibly be $28. I search up NYS law, and $28 for one bag is not accurate. I believe Instacart is either making fraudulent practices, or simply ignoring these issues, as no one seem to care. I had two accounts with them, one personal and one business account, and they have lost my business forever.

    My experience with Instacart was extremely disappointing. This was my first order, and it will also be my last. Out of the six items I ordered, four were out of stock. To make matters worse, you can’t cancel the order without being charged a $15 fee. If you choose not to accept substitutions, they’ll still deliver just one item—an arrangement that feels like a waste of time and money for everyone involved. I expected better service and flexibility. The only way to cancel your order is to call customer service and if you have 30-40 spare minutes to spend dealing with them.

    Received my first order from Costco delivered by Instacart. The driver stole $34 worth of product. Instacart immediately provided a credit. I called to have the $25 tip removed. I do not feel the shopper deserves money to steal product. In speaking with the customer service rep who I could barely understand, told me I had 3 hours to reduce the tip, and 14 hours to increase the tip. There is nothing they can do. DO NOT LET INSTACART NEAR YOU!!!!

    I'm an Instacart shopper, and they have terrible communication. Resolving problems while shopping is time consuming and a joke. When I have concerns I have to wait on hold to chat. All the chats cost me hours. All they want to do is get you off the chat. I used their card and my personal card was charged. This was 2 weeks ago. After several chats, I was told I contacted them too much and now they won't review the reimbursement til February 5th! Review! Not reimburse. This is just one example of how Instacart treats us shoppers. They are no help, do not appreciate that I have a 5 star rating. DO NOT SHOP FOR INSTACART. It's a big cold corporation that could care less about its shoppers and I'm guessing their customers.

    I ordered in December and it was 5 hours late. After spending over an hour on the phone they said they were short on drivers (how is this my problem) and they would credit my next order. Essentially forcing me to order from them again. I gave them one more chance on January 10th and the order was not delivered (someone else got it). After another hour on the phone they said they would redeliver by 11:30AM I don't see this happening. I asked what happened to the $20.00 credit from last time and they said it would be applied to my next order. I said no way it was for this order than they followed up and said okay like they were doing my a favor. These people are scammers and should be shut down. This is horrible.

    I'm pleased with the service for the most part. I appreciate that there's an alternative if I'm too busy to go to the grocery store myself. I've come to terms with the padded prices and hidden fees because I'm sure costs are involved in maintaining the app and providing the service. There's a price to pay for the convenience that this service provides. I also appreciate the no-fuss, quick return policies and procedures, and amazing customer service at the 1-800 number.

    However, I've had a few consistent challenges in dealing with Instacart. I don't like selecting a tip amount before the order is placed. This incentivizes the order so shoppers can "shop" orders and either accept or decline them. This doesn't work to the customer's advantage. It's also backward. Tips should be earned, not automatically given to shoppers to supplement their incomes. This practice puts the responsibility on the consumer to provide a fair wage, rather than the company--where it belongs. Shoppers should not be able to see a tip amount until AFTER delivering an order. This prevents the customer from experiencing a disgruntled shopper who becomes passive-aggressive because they didn't get their desired tip amount.

    I'm a generous tipper, but I like to wait until AFTER services are rendered before I adjust the final amount. This has caused several problems for me, so I now put in the maximum amount BEFORE the shopping experience, then adjust it AFTER. This is a hassle; customers should not have to look at this twice. So I think this part of their ordering system should be changed.

    Another problem I've experienced is Spanish communicators in the chat. Shoppers see my last name, assume I speak and text Spanish, and they respond to my English language questions in Spanish. I feel that the primary language in the app should be English. If the customer communicates in Spanish, fine, both parties can communicate in their native language. However, until they know this, English should be the primary language. The responsibility to communicate in English should be placed on the shopper, not the customer having to go to Google Translate to understand the language the shopper uses during a shopping order. This is unacceptable, and I've lodged complaints with the company about it.

    Beware of the promotions! I was supposed to get $40 off of $80. I made my order for $84. The shopper had to substitute some things. I told her I had to keep it above $80. While I was still telling her on the chat what to sub, SHE CHECKED OUT! I screenshotted our entire chat for proof, but Instacart just says, "Your order was not $80 so you are not eligible." The funny thing is I was using this order to prove to my husband that we should sign up... Instead it proved to me that we shouldn't! Even if we had gotten our promo, it would have only saved me about $20 because of all the fees.

    I ordered from Instacart on Christmas Eve 2024 and my order was not delivered to my house. There's a picture of a different house they sent the order to and a conversation with the delivery driver that he did not deliver my order. I was on the phone for an hour and 45 minutes trying to get a hold of someone about my delivery. But there were problems that day with Instacart's customer service which I found out on Christmas Day because I spent Christmas Day calling again about the order I did not receive. When I spoke with a lady on Christmas day, she said that she refunded my order. Seven days later I see my order was not refunded and I never received an email about this, yet no one reached out to me or tried to take care of this.

    I called again yesterday 12/30/2024 and they said my order has not been refunded and sent me an email saying they couldn't refund my order, and I had to do an appeal here's your ticket number: **. I'm thinking this is ridiculous. You can clearly see I never received my order. So, I did the appeal at 11:00 am yesterday and no email and nothing... Nobody got back to me. I'm extremely furious and frustrated that instacart would steal from someone. I have children and this has ruined our holiday season. I have lived in the same house for over eight years. Again, I'm on the phone with instacart at 1:00 am in the morning and I'm still having a problem getting even a credit. I asked the lady what was going on?,,, "You can clearly see I did not receive my order."

    She said I was a high-risk account which I had to laugh at, because I used to use instacart all the time and a few drivers stole my ice cream and some stuff from my bags, and I would call about mold on fruit I received to get it refunded. After I was stolen from a driver and customer service said they called the driver and he said it was delivered, I stopped using instacart for a very long time. I decided to give you guys a try again recently and lo and behold here we go again. And especially on Christmas Eve. This is as low as a company can go to withhold food from a family during the holidays. There's no security or safety in ordering with Instacart. It's sad that you allow the company to be run this way. There's no compassion and instacart does not care if they are wrong nor do they take accountability. I still have not received a credit, my food, or a refund.

    I placed an order with Instacart for a 6pm pickup on 12/24. I arrived and it wasn't there. I got an email at close to 7pm, when Publix was closing to tell me they switched my delivery to 12/26. The food was for Christmas so I tried to cancel and kept getting technical difficulties on their website. Since I couldn't cancel I cut the order to five items. I then saw that a BOGO had ended so I didn't want the item. I could go on and on but won't. It was a disaster from start to finish. Terrible Customer Service. I can't add a receipt because when my husband went to Publix they had nothing and said it might be at a different store? What the heck? Never again. I would forgo groceries rather than use them if I couldn't get to the store myself.

    I ordered groceries at 11am on Christmas eve with expected delivery time of 2:34. However my groceries never been delivered, I called 3 times to customer support and was told they had technical issues and they weren’t even willing to help me. After being on hold for 40min The first customer service told me they guaranteed it will be delivered tonight. However at 7pm when all stores are closed for the holiday I called back again asking where my order is and was on hold for another 30 minutes and the customer service was very unprofessional, rude and was not willing to listen to my frustration and told me to cancel my order.

    When I went to the app to cancel my order there is $15 fee to do so, I had to call back again. With another 30min wait I was able to get the fee waived and cancel my order. My family ends up eating P&J sandwiches on Christmas eve. I was disappointed with Instacart for not communicating the issue early on so that I can go get my groceries. Instead they waited until I called twice to let me know I won’t get my groceries.

    I have ordered through Instacart AT LEAST a dozen times. 10 of the experiences were terrible. Drivers often claim the store does not have the simplest items or any of the 3 or more possible replacement items, things like 80% fat chopped beef at Stop and Shop, Italian sausage (the Stop and shops in New Haven and Hamden CT where I live have over 1 dozen different brands of so- called "Italian Sausage" all very close in price, so if your choice is not there, there are often 10 similar items to choose instead.

    I will more than often get my entire order sans any protein I ordered at all, chopped meat, hotdogs, steak, pre-formed hamburgers, etc. Often no food items in large order at all, when it was the food that prompted me to order in the first place. Today Christmas eve I placed an order 11am and was told it will arrive between 4pm and 5:30 pm. I started getting notices my shopper was on the way to the store at 4pm. The I got noticed the shopper would be at my house at 4:30pm, no show, then I got notice 5:15pm, then 5:50pm then I got notice that demand was too high and my order will be delivered 8-10 am Christmas day. This is typical. Customer service can NEVER be reached in person. Avoid this high priced scam at ALL costs.

    I used to use Instacart for some grocery deliveries despite higher prices. I was often disappointed with shoppers mixing up orders, selecting wrong items, picking poor quality. So, I stopped. But occasionally I order pickup from Sprouts. I have had an issue every single time!!! Now they have told me that despite the shopper selecting spoiled produce they won't refund me. Or the fact that he forgot an item and I had to go inside the store wait for 10 minutes. I will never use them again.

    Instacart charged me an extra $14.88 claiming it is an adjustment charge when my bill totalled what my order was prior to their additional charge. They have given multiple excuses for this extra charge even when they have been given a photo of my receipt and they claim to have checked my account. I just want my money back and the fee for the Instacart + that I no longer want as I have switched to DoorDash for my shopping needs.

    I am usually very happy when I use this app but not today. I will never use it for Restaurant Depot again. I asked for America cheese from James Fram and Pure Leaf Tea. Tea was fine but shopper said they were out of the cheese. So it was refunded. Next thing I know my order is being replaced with a new delivery time and both items for someone to shop. I canceled the order. My husband had to go out so he made the extra shop. Guess what they were not out of the cheese. They had a ton of it. I gave 3 stars because I got a refund for my order and Customer service did a good job. The shopper gets a 1 star.

    I have shopped online with Amazon and many other retail providers, but my experience with Instacart was hands-down the worst. From unexplained charges to inappropriate payment method fees, it was a complete nightmare. It felt as though their system and processes were designed by novices, and not much thought went into ensuring a seamless or secure experience for users.

    The biggest red flag for me was the lack of transparency. Charges appeared on my account after checkout that were never shown to me during the payment process. Imagine looking at your account and seeing fees you cannot explain—my fear of identity theft skyrocketed. This is unacceptable for a company handling sensitive financial information.

    If you can help it, stay far away from Instacart. The frustration and lack of trust it inspires are not worth it. I’ve now decided to return to in-person grocery shopping. At least there, I can see exactly what I’m paying for without worrying about unexplained charges mysteriously appearing on my account. Instacart, you have a long way to go. Until then, I'll take my business elsewhere.

    I have used Instacart for five years, but I have had it. Groceries arriving reeking of cigarette smoke; a shopper with open containers of alcohol and an unsmoked joint in the console of the car; shopper telling me the store was out of my wine and Instacart does not allow them to replace alcoholic beverages (which is not true because I have received replacements before); promised refunds from Instacart reps that never appear and when I call back the refunds have not been processed; Instacart telling me not to use the app, but their website is not user friendly and extremely slow.

    Forcing you to use a browser that has zero expectations of privacy (Google Chrome) just to use their site is a very hard pass for me. Customer Service was very unhelpful, and tried forcing me to use Chrome, because "their site is optimized for it." Spoken like an anti-privacy advocate if I ever heard one.

    If I could give zero stars I would. I have recently been sick and I have two kids at home so I haven't been able to go to the grocery store because they're sick as well and I do not have a babysitter. I decided to use Instacart for the second time ever, my first experience wasn't bad. This was honestly the worst experience I've had anywhere in my whole entire life. I ordered almost $400 worth of groceries and ended up with $30 with the groceries when delivered. The app said that the driver had gotten everything in my cart and I was charged the full amount. He did not contact me that there was any issue. I watched him drop it off in the middle of the road had to run down so nobody ran it over. I have been calling them and filling out forms for a week now to get a refund which they keep denying me for. Now I have no money to feed my kids for the rest of the month. Almost $400 down the drain. The customer service is so incompetent. Nobody could help me.

    Instacart is a rip off! They charge you astronomical fees for nothing that they actually do. Then they don't pay their shoppers enough, and expect you to tip them what the shoppers think they are worth. How does that work? I just received an order and the receipt was in the bag, it was less than what I was actually charged. When I asked the company about why they were charging more for my groceries, they came up with some reason why the store itself was charging more. Which is a lie! This is very disappointing that these companies keep using and taking advantage of people.

    Customer service is a joke and downright offensive because you're talking to somebody in India who has no idea where you're shopping and doesn't understand your reaction. I'll say it again, Instacart is a rip off and a scam! I imagine they make thousands if not millions off of their loophole rules and fees and they should be sued. Count me in when a civil suit starts, meanwhile my account is officially deleted!

    It says here Instacart is a reputable company. I find that hard to believe. I used them once. They charged about 50% over what it said before I hit order. They also wanted a tip which makes sense so I tipped 25% because I didn’t know what would happen. I live a little farther from the store so I figured that’s what I should do. The extra they charged had nothing to do with the tip. Then they only brought half the stuff. Bought sugar tea and things I can’t eat. I’m diabetic. $168 plus tip and I got the drinks I ordered (some wrong) but barely had enough food to cook 2 meals for 1 person. I wish I looked through the bags before they left but I didn’t yet know how they operate. The driver was really nice. Anyway I can’t even return the items full of sugar I can’t use because they won’t give you a receipt.

    I’m pretty sure that’s not a reputable company in any way. I have money. It won’t hurt me really but to ever trust them even a little I’d have to be insane. I am laid up from getting hit by a car and broken. No way to get food in my location. Can’t really walk. I guess I’ll have to go without food a while since I can’t use them and have no one to help. I’m not going to slaughter livestock just because I got scammed by Instascam. If you think of shopping with them I really suggest not. I called customer service and they aren’t concerned at all. I actually made friends with the driver and he sent me the shopping list they gave him. It doesn’t contain half what I ordered. Not his fault. He says he hates to say it but this is business as usual for Instacart. Most people just aren’t smart enough to notice.

    My bank likes me a lot so they’ll refund my money and block Instascam from my cards. I’d post a receipt but they don’t let people get them. It has a list of items but no prices or listing which discounts you get. They show this up until you hit order then the prices disappear and the amount charged to your account skyrockets. They won’t even show what you are charged and for what but the bank does. This is why most people never realize they got scammed. You’d have to screenshot it before then go Screenshot the charge at your bank. Their employees say this has been going on basic my every order for years though. He won’t even shop with the company he works for unless he wants something delivered really badly for some reason (beer for a party when he can’t drive he mentioned).

    Do not use Instacart for your purchases because the buyers are not the same ones who will deliver. They do not check the identity of the buyers and this is dangerous. There are many of these scammers at the Costco store in Danvers, Massachusetts, and Instacart does nothing.

    I have used this entity for many years. The recent change with them deciding this new priority and pay extra in order for the delivery or wait until the next day and pay. Nothing does absolutely nothing for the customer. This is a bullish way of trying to scam money from your customers. It is not your place as an enmity to deny. The service that you claim is supposed to be so glorious for customers who use the service as well as using these odd percentages On leaving a tip in order for you to gain more money from your customer. And not. Leaving the decision to the customer unless they are paying attention. This no longer is a glorious Avenue. I hope someone else builds an platform knocks this one out of the ballpark, where it could no longer serve customers and we get better options. Sorry, Insta, your time is up.

    I ordered 87 and some change items. One which I ordered 1 items they didn't have but they only substituted one item..after complaining they gave me the amount of that but only would in credits for them. I never wanna order from them again and they overcharged me 30 dollars and they refuse to do anything about that...in other words they are thieves and I never will order from them again. I ordered from door dash and have NEVER had these problems. Instacart does NOT resolve issues and I am gonna report to bbb.

    This is the biggest scam ever perpetrated on seniors, the elderly and those of us that do not drive here in Florida.. Or a combination of all of the above.. The upcharges they charge which are generally more than just 50cents border on retail shrinkage.. Instacart passes the buck on those upcharges and according to their website "Retailers set the item prices on the Instacart marketplace. While many retailers offer everyday store prices on Instacart, some retailers may set prices on the Instacart platform that are different than in-store prices".. So just who gets to keep that additional money/income Instacart or the store you are shopping at? Who's income statement does all of that additional income go on?

    I attempted to cancel my Instacart subscription after I saw some of the charges both additional and otherwise but I had paid the yearly fee of $99.00 in advance and thought (stupid me) that I would receive some sort of refund or at least a partial refund. Hmmm nope.. They only do account credits and even those become subject to their creative accounting methods and I lost $6.00 on one of those so called credits because it appears "according to them" if for some reason you cancel the order that you used that credit on the credit goes away with that canceled order..

    Then they tip shame you by putting a 10% tip on the order 'before' you even pay for the order, and then tip shame you again 'after' you receive the order.. Who tips before anything? When I go into a restaurant I don't tip the wait staff before I sit down, order or eat my meal.. I have many receipts to prove my comments and tried to do a copy of one of them to upload to this site but was unable to do that my ISP is starting to feel like 'dial up' again.. Lost my patience..

    Instacart is an absolute scam. They charged me $100 for the annual membership and refused to provide a refund when I realized the mistake, because I had already placed an order for delivery. I intended to register for a monthly membership at that time, so that I could purchase groceries for the weekend. Of course I placed an order, under the assumption I was a had a monthly membership. Customer service refused to convert my membership to monthly, even though it's only been 5 days.

    I joined the delivery service through my grocery store website. The first three deliveries were fine. This last delivery was a bust. The shopper marked everything I ordered as our is stock, but added a whole list of items I didn't order. My total before taxes and tip was $65. I received the stuff I ordered that was marked as out of stock. I did not receive the stuff that was added. I was billed $155.77. The receipt didn't hit my email until the driver was driving away. I had thought it was odd that I didn't get any texts at all before the delivery, because normally the shoppers text so often that I can't even get anything done until the delivery is finished.

    I called the store right away. They said Instacart had to correct it. Since I am a long time customer, one of the ladies there called Instacart to get it fixed. This patient soul spent almost an hour being put on hold, shuffled around, and explaining the problem repeatedly. I know because I went down there. Finally Instacart said they would refund the full amount even though the customer service lady at the store told them I just wanted the amount corrected. The person at Instacart insisted they would refund the $155.77. The charge ended up going through at $150.77. That is what I paid for $65 worth of groceries. I was told the refund would show up in my bank account after 3-5 business days. It didn't.

    I called Instacart customer service which sounded like it was located in India, where I was put in gold, shuffled around, and talked to the people, one who I could barely understand, and they told me they didn't show anything on my account about it. I finally figured out I was getting the "customer service run-around" dance. I ended up filing a complaint with the BBB.

    I was significantly overcharged by Instacart and given a totally fabricated excuse as to why. Luckily I used PayPal and the short version is they over credited me. I have offered to pay them the small difference but have wasted untold time and emails trying to show them the problem. Fortunately I scanned my receipt from Fresh Market and would have had no chance at getting credited without it.

    Terrible experience. I purchased a membership through Sprouts, but it was an Instacart membership. Cost the full $99 for a year. Turns out I could only use that at sprouts. Which makes no sense. It was an instacart membership. They also wasted over an hour of my time giving me the run around from department to department with customer service. Complete waste of money and time.

    The app is connected to Walmart as part of Walmart online shopping and delivery. They never have a fully functioning app. I struggled to get the shopper to communicate respectfully. They put extra items in your order. Very questionable practice. I have had many of my food items not properly following safe food handling. There should be cameras in the vehicle showing the food handling practice and Go-Pro on the shopper for extra safety measures.

    I was chatting with the employee about refunding my money. He told me 5 to 10 business days. I took the screenshot. Two weeks later I called and talk to someone and they said the same thing 5 to 10 days. So it has been a month and now when I called, they told me the grace period ended and they cannot return my money. Luckily, I had a screenshot to show them. It was their employee, and not my fault. They read off the script, this is what is written and this is what I have to tell you and they won’t listen to you. They really are not trying to help you. They’re just trying to get rid of you. I would never recommend them to anyone. This is ridiculous. Even IRS has better customer service, I wish I could give them 0 stars.

    Things are more expensive on their app vs in store. They claim to have a satisfaction guarantee if you're not happy with something with/in your order but they're liars. Every time I try to do a refund or credit request in the app they deny it. I reach out via email. They are ignorant and deny it. I am done using them. I used them because some stores I like don't have their own pick up option. If they get better customer service and stop denying any of my refund or credit requests, I'll use them again. Until then they lost my business.

    Please do not order from this site! They scammed me out of membership of $103 and refused to refund me when I told them I never asked for a membership. On top of that their prices are outrageous! I ordered two items for $12 and ended up paying $20 with service fees and whatever other fees they added. Bad customer service, scammers and high prices. I'm checking out a different delivery service. My friends warned me about InstaCart. I should've listened. The only reason I went with them was because of Costco, but definitely NOT worth the headache.

    They are very high priced and make it extremely difficult to get a refund when a shopper doesn’t choose the right item or delivers only part of your order. They deny refunds for no reason and you continually have to fight to get anything back. Not only that they refund you in credit to your Instacart account which only applies to the purchase items and not delivery fees. Better to just take the time to go shop yourself. They’re not worth the hassle!

    Some things in the order were what was ordered. Others were different types of the brand ordered (one original but ordered unsweetened almond milk). One pea soup can was dented. Expensive and not worth the money. Try other delivery services that are more accurate.

    So tired of late deliveries by Instacart! I am disabled, and my car is having problems so I have to rely on Instacart or the disabled transit system to get my food. I am so tired of setting delivery times and the constant repeat issues of them NOT showing up on time or my deliveries getting delayed. The last time no one arrived till MIDNIGHT! Instacart gave me a 5 dollar discount for that baloney. I should have gotten a better refund for that.

    They need to work on their delivery times. I can't always wait all day for food, medicines etc. and have to meet doctors appointments, etc. Tonight, ONCE AGAIN, I called and they kept telling me a shopper was on their way and an hour later same story and NO ONE SHOWED. This time I told them I would give them till 800pm or forget it-- I will cancel my order. I have the same issue with Uber Eats (late deliveries, cold food, etc) and Door Dash, Wish these systems were more reliable. As I am looking, they just scootched my delivery down to 815pm now! It was supposed to arrive between 4-625pm.

    Service is good, but I have one significant complaint. Their pre authorized withdrawals from my accounts are far higher than can possibly be needed to compensate for unexpected additions of cost; feels like float again, the practice of bankers refusing to cash certified checks for an interval of days, so that they can use the value of them as investment capital to themselves. Feels like exactly the same gouge, and I don't LIKE being gouged.

    An Instacart driver crashed into a large stone custom-fabricated placard on a metal frame at the end of our driveway. He did not come back to acknowledge the incident or the damage. The placard is now unusable, and after a month of making phone calls, submitting a claim in writing, and calling multiple times, I still haven’t gotten a resolution (i.e., reimbursement for replacement) of my claim. In fact, I have not even been able to get a reliable update on where my claim stands. Emails are not returned, and Customer Service keeps punting to another “internal team” (Trust and Safety?), which they tell me does not have a phone number. Replacing the placard (materials and installation) will cost $572.00, which Instacart knows but has made no real effort to acknowledge and pay.

    This was supposed to be my 3rd delivery through Instacart in the last few years. After the 1st time I wanted to avoid them. After a few years I figured I’d give it another shot. That was tough but made it through. Today is the 3rd - from a different store than last time but only one store. I’m in a little bit of an odd area so I put extremely detailed instructions on the order. Every driver from every other service finds it. For some reason Instacart drivers have a very hard time. Today I could see she missed the turn on the map. So I messaged her.

    I gave her specific direction from where she was. She wasn’t following them and went to the wrong area. So I said, "Please follow the instructions I entered on the order." She then got rude with me. I don’t know if they can only type in capital letters but that’s what she was doing. Everything I tried to explain she “yelled” back that’s what she was doing even though it wasn’t. I reiterated to turn at a particular store and she told me that store was not there, even though it’s at my corner. I called the store and was directed to Instacart’s toll free #. Waited forever to talk to someone. By this time the order was a half hour late past the end of the range.

    While on with Instacart they looked at the map, said she has arrived, I looked and she hadn’t, then they said it’s the wrong house, I was worried the order would be left somewhere else so texted her that I was on the phone with them and they could see she was at the wrong house. She then got rude & said, "I can see that by looking at the #." Then because Instacart tried contacting her she cancelled and rescheduled the order.

    It’s such a shame they have poor workers like this because if she would have just asked me to contact by phone (which has to be requested by the driver) I could have gotten her here. She was right in the area. But this service is just not competent in training or something. I will never use Instacart again. We’ll see if my rescheduled delivery to tomorrow gets here. Oh and they offered no compensation, like free delivery, either.

    The shoppers are lazy and rude. Customer Service is awful. I had them for 4 years too long, they don’t care about the customer. I tried to cancel with 5 months left in my plan and they said no!     I have paid for my Instacart membership for years. I am very sad to say, ever since you started off shoring your customer service, I have had nothing but a negative experience with the platform. Orders being accepted then canceled mid-way. Orders being accepted then shoppers suddenly having a change of mind, etc. It goes on and on. Just look at my account!

    When I contacted your service center to get help with it, I was left with nothing but excuses and no help. I asked to cancel my membership and I was told I can't. I have no words anymore, and the level of unprofessional service I received is astonishing. I am literally left baffled and confused. I would like to request a refund for my entire membership, and for my account to be cancelled, effective immediately, before I take it to the consumer court and my lawyer. If you are going to provide this service, at least have a decency to ensure your customers are happy and actually getting what they pay for.

    I will never use Instacart again. First, I waited nearly 2 hours and was never told that the driver's car broke down. Either get another driver to deliver it OR I could have easily gone and gotten the groceries from her had I known. They put on the order tracker the driver was delivering to another nearby drop off, NOT true. Secondly, the driver had been communicating from the minute she started shopping so she could have text me to let me know the status but chose not to and then she blamed it on Instacart for not telling me. Next, Instacart refused to reimburse me for the entire order plus I didn't get any groceries. Instacart said all you could do was reschedule the order. That is not acceptable and the customer service rep and her canned answers to my concerns were useless. My bank has been notified to stop the payment on this order!

You pay $99 a year and by the time they’ve added the many levies, fees and taxes to the bill, you’re better off shopping online from Save-On and paying the $10.95 delivery fee, and where you aren't required to pay tips. I’m definitely cancelling my subscription and hope to point this matter out to all my friends and family who (like I used to) believe they’re getting a good deal from Instacart.

    Wrong same-day order delivered from Costco. The delivery guy "no habla Ingles" when the wrong order was pointed out. Customer service totally unhelpful but did refund the money eventually. No gesture of goodwill or compensation for inconvenience. I suspect Instacart employs a lot of undocumented workers for these jobs - and ought to be investigated. I have nothing against people trying to make a living but the Instacart management should be held accountable for any violations of the law.

    Instacart customer "service" at 888-246-7822 is staffed by rude, incompetent people who speak such poor English that it is virtually impossible to understand what they are saying. They also are unable to understand well spoken English. There is supposed to be an opportunity to evaluate their service at the end of each call, but if they anticipate negative feedback, they skew their survey by preventing you from providing the feedback. When they anticipate negative feedback, they refuse to disconnect at the end of the call, making it impossible for you to provide negative feedback after the call.

    The rude, argumentative agent with whom I spoke today (he called himself Alexis) had such poor English skills that even a simple question went over his head. Then, after denying that his poor English was creating a language barrier, and refusing to let me speak to anyone else, he lingered on the line for an hour afterward, waiting for an opportunity to disconnect without allowing negative feedback. Consumeraffairs.com should allow ZERO stars for such incredibly poor service as instacart customer "service".

    I have never had to review any shopping experience like this, ever! I’m on a trial FREE SHIPPING APP and was accidentally given a paper receipt for Kroger, that amount was $83.60. Instacart charged me $109.20! I got free shipping but they charged tax while the store didn’t! I saved $12.96 at Kroger but only $2 with Instacart. Everything is bad, they have their own price list on the app, they are going to charge you for shipping and $99 a freaking year as well as no sales items! Who needs that? I had one more week on the trial and have canceled them and that creepy app! Don’t walk away from them, RUN! The paper receipt is crumbled so I can’t get a photo, but thank goodness I have it or I would have been repeatedly lied to about everything!

    Have only used them twice but that last time was a ducie! Do not use them to buy you groceries, I believe the shopper who purchase my food items stole the steaks and the eggs I had paid for because the items were missing so I had to call the supervisor and tell my story. -- When the groceries were left at my front door, the shopper didn't even knock on the door and left groceries sitting under the hot summer sun of Las Vegas. Their website does not let you check on the items you've added to your cart until you pay for it. I had a Pkg. of Baby Back Ribs for $13.75 and their system charged me $35.23 for the same item. Once I received the groceries there were 3 expensive items missing; Two stake packages for $18.00 and eggs for $5.99 missing from the order.

    Needles to say I was very upset. The supervisors did give me a credit for missing items but again it was a credit to the Instacart account and my money is inaccessible until I shop again at which time I would have to pay another $10.00 delivery fee. So I spent $85.00 to get $40.00 worth of other minor items and pay for a worthless delivery. I was left hungry for food and without money to purchase more until I receive their refund and go to the store myself to buy my own food because I will not use them again.     I've been using INSTACART for months. They recently sent a confusing email to verify account information and it led to my account being deleted. I call their senior help line. They could not do anything and said I should email to privacy@instacart.com which I did. Privacy@instacart.com sent me and automated reply that I should email help@instacart.com which I did. the reply from help@instcart.com said I should login to the help website, login, and submit my question. The problem is that I can't log in because my account was accidentally deactivated. When I try to log in, it asks for a six digit security number sent to my email. When I add that number to the login page, it says my account is deactivated and further instructions on unlocking will be emailed to me. But that email never comes.

    No issue with the shopper, my issue is with how Instacart is ran. I have an order to pick up today from 1-2pm. For whatever reason instacart decided to have the shopper get my 20 items together at 8am! One of my items was a covid test because I currently have it. Which is why I was using this service anyways. But because of the really bad timing of getting my order together, the shopper couldn't get my tests because the pharmacy doesn't open until 9am. So I was forced to start a second order, which means I pay even more money to get my tests. Otherwise they were going to try and blame my shopper for the companies bad policies and make them put it all back to start again. I'll never use this service again after this. These companies are out of hand with their own bad policies and then trying to thwart blame by putting it on the shopper. Gross behavior Instacart.

    InstaCart is a true ripoff. They actually overcharge and blame the grocery stores. They will allow replacements and refunds if items while in the grocery store but will not allow shoppers' cards, allowing them to rip people off every second of the day. I discovered this when I received my actual receipt. If you are not using InstaCart, don’t. If you use InstaCart, cancel. I truly believe that there will be a class action lawsuit against them. Their time is coming.

I was told a picture was taken as proof of delivery but they refused to show me the picture. I don't believe Instacart is doing enough to weed out problem drivers that may steal items.

    Horrible service! Do not waste your money! The whole point of Instacart is to provide convenience to those willing to pay for the service. After I paid for my annual membership, Instacart randomly flagged my account for fraud (which was ridiculous) then automatically deactivated my account. Instacart of course did not automatically refund me my membership. I have called multiple times to the only number I can find for customer service and they refuse to refund me my membership even though they deactivated my account for no reason. Do not waste your money on this service. It's a total rip off.

    Dumping the stores who use only Instacart. Instacart delivers to wrong house, delivers items with missing parts, wrong items, and defective food packaging just name a few of the issues. Then says when you request refunds “Since we received a high number of order issue reports from your Instacart account, we can’t approve your refund, credit, or redelivery request at this time.” so after filing an appeal with detailed proof, the response is “We reviewed your appeal request and order information. We decided to maintain our decision to not give you a refund, credit, or re-delivery.” I can’t afford to do business with them. Sorry Sprouts and COSTCO.

    Had the most horrible experience with them. Bought their Instacart+ service on July. Then around after 3 weeks, my account was locked while I was making my weekly order through their website. The prompt says to contact their customer service to get unlock instructions so I did. They asked me a link to upload my identification to proceed with unlocking.

    I ended up with four different agents sending me the same link so I ended up sending them my passport ID but I blocked the sensitive information. But they did not unlock my account. Now my credit card information is with my account and I cannot close it. Plus they got my passport with my photo on. Never ever try to give them that. If you are facing the same issue, just ask them to close the account and don't proceed with the unlocking process. Good because I am talking with bank to dispute the charges they made on my credit card. Disgusting people. No wonder they have to give discounts for customers to stick around because their services are so lousy.

    This is the worst company I ever met. I had an issue with one of their shopper who stole two bikes from my neighbor’s house in one time he came to dropped off an order and I contacted the support 4 times. And they not only offered me 5 dollars in compensation but every time they said they will contact me to follow up the problem and never had a respond back. Today I spent more than 2 hours in chat with one of their associates and told him/her more than once I won’t leave until they give me an answer and if he or she end the chat is under their responsibility because I won’t give my consent until someone has something accurate to say and this person just ends the conversation and let me in the same position for 4th time. Oh, and I don’t want to forget to say that I paid 99 dollars for a membership and not only all the products are more expensive in their site but this is what I get from them.

    Not attending to their members issues even if we are talking about a robbery, which is a serious matter. This is like a scam site. Never try to reach their customer service team because this associate said and I have the proof that the team doesn’t have an email or way to reach them. They are joking on me for more than 2 weeks with this situation. So I’m not giving 0 star because is not an option here but that’s what they deserve.

    I had a membership for 4+ yrs and most shoppers selected excellent products and communicated well. Very few poor products and customer service always credited immediately upon any issues. In the last year - pricing went much much higher over in store cost and when they sent me a special renewal rate for my membership via email - click the button for it on my account it - it would not honor - even customer service could not explain why / just told me there was nothing they could do about it.     Instacart is horrible. The worst experience ever. I joined them because I had shoulder surgery eight weeks ago and from the very first day they screwed up. I had a membership, but they were constantly forgetting items they were showing up late. I think one instance where I got a good order then I was in my sling and I had to call. They gave me a credit but then they argued that they never gave me the credit and it was on my phone so I finally hung up the phone. I tried to get someone who was management but I can't so now I'm calling an attorney.

    None of my money has been refunded and all they say is 10 business days. It's ridiculous. So tonight I said hey what the hell instead of me driving which I'm going to drive now cause I can drive, I said I needed a few things for the morning and the price would be the same to go to the store so the Dingdong who works for the company said they were out of something and then they had it. So I said, "Oh would you please get this," but she was in such a rush obviously she already refunded it. So that point I said just forget the order so she refunded a bunch and then I called the people who answer the phone from China and she just repeated that I'll get my money back in 10 days. I would never use this place. It's better for you to go to the store or get a personal shopper. Beware.

The driver even sent a picture showing they delivered my order, it clearly does not show the BIG bag of dog food on my porch, I also have video of the delivery! No BIG bag of dog food delivered.     I patiently waited over an hour and a half for the order to be delivered but, the delivery person would not ask for me at reception and simply canceled the order in just a few minutes. I don’t think he/she even tried. Disrupted business as I had to place another order and wait another 2+ hours for delivery.     All works well as long as you get lucky and your shopper delivers the order as placed. But if you have a problem with the order, Instacart is the worst customer service experience I have ever had. 1. Submitted request for missing items and items from someone else's order - got a reply about "unable to match the sales price and coupons". 2. Submitted another request on the same issue - got a reply that "sorry you were overcharged for your items". 3. Requested supervisor - she calculated amount of refund due incorrectly. 4. Requested redelivery - had to spend 40 minutes on the phone because the previous supervisor "did not have ability to schedule re-delivery" and only gave me an option to place another order but - no free delivery due to the order amount is below $35 and would have to pay service fee and tip the new shopper again.

    5. Redelivery was scheduled by another supervisor and happened the next day as promised but - two bags of potatoes missing but I still was charged for these. 6. Requested support, redelivery - nope. Not the second time. 7. Requested to be transferred to the upper management - nope. 8. Requested Headquarters address, email, phone number - nope. Not available, "we don't have it". 9. Requested refund of my Instacart membership fees - nope. I already "took advantage of the membership". Please chose Instacart if you enjoy being charged for the items you did not get, spend endless hours on the phone and chat and getting no satisfactory resolution.

WOW! $26 for 4 organic apples (the most I would pay in store is $6)!!!! I called to complain about this to which they indicated the costs per item on their site is "different" than in store.     Less than one star if it was available. I have had a free Instacart account for years as it's the only way to schedule FREE pick up orders at local stores such as Publix. I hadn't used this since 2023, obviously things have changed. I was completing my order with a pick up time when I was prompted to sign up or sign in to Instacart to complete the transaction, which I did. Later that day I was going through emails and I see one saying thank you for signing up for Instacart+ for a $106!!!! What??!!!!

    So I called and was shuffled around until getting to the correct person only to be told too bad you can't cancel until your renewal next year because you placed an order, I said I placed an order through Publix for a FREE pick up, why would I pay $106 for a delivery service to pick up my groceries that costs nothing. They were horrible to deal with, just kept telling me about all the benefits but refused to refund me my money, criminal that they can get away with things like this.

    I had foot surgery so I couldn’t do the shopping myself. The actual shopper was fantastic, but Instacart fees were brutal. They shopped at Costco and I had deliberately asked for that day because it was the start of their coupon sale. Even though I paid with my Costco Visa I didn’t get a single discount.     I have been trying to get Instacart to stop a subscription which I never chose. They are charging me $45 a month. I would never had agreed to that. I am on a fixed income. I don't even use instacart anymore, they always make mistakes, bringing me the wrong products etc. They say my subscription will last through April 2025 and there is nothing they can do about it. I cannot afford this and never agreed to it. There must be a governing body in Florida that can help seniors with this. This company is a total scam. Stay away.     Instacart is a hack company that unabashedly doesn't care about its customers or has any sense of responsibility for its actions. I purchased two Instacart gift cards from a Costco promotion, but when tried to use them my purchase got cancelled and I was locked out of my account. I contacted the security department (who I'm convinced is an AI bot) and provided the required ID photos but they still haven't unlocked my account in over 3 weeks. I called their customer service and talked to a girl who worked from home and has no connections or idea how the company worked so could do nothing, and then hung up on me. I'm stunned that a well respected company like Costco would partner with them! NEVER use Insta-FRAUD, they steal your money and then leave you hanging with nothing to show for it.

My paper grocery bill was 162.25, And additional delivery charges 2.99 plus $10.42 plus tip 11 and tax .84 was 25.25. Total should've been 187.50. Instead, I was charged $218.36. Overcharge of $30+.     In the past month, I have been overcharged a total of about $130 from Instacart. I got double charges on my credit card. At one point one of the shoppers charge me $25 for a loaf of bread and thought it would just slide. Not to mention the amount of orders that never gets delivered and I get charged for.     SENIORS BE WARNING!!! Do not join Seniors Instacart program, it is quite misleading. I was happy to use their 14 days free try out. What I did not realize was once you gave them your credit card to order something at 1st time, they save your credit card info. After 14 days, most seniors won't remember 14 days TRY OUT is over. I ordered something on 15th days, I am happy there is still no fee because the ad shows "first 3 orders are FREE delivery fee". Then immediately they used saved credit card to charge me $99 membership fee + TAX=$107. Called them within 1 min after their email, the girl is well trained to say "not refundable.". In addition to that Why is there a tax to membership?

    Then I login to Instacart webpage, canceled my membership and cancelled my order immediately. The girl on the other end, insisted I had to pay one month membership fee. $99/12=$8.25, but She said I need to pay $10.57. WHAT??? I NEVER AUTHORIZE INSTACART to use saved credit card info to charge me membership fee. I only agree to pay whatever I ordered. This company is not trustable, especially they use senior program to rip off seniors. Most people especially seniors would not pay attention to those fine font's wording.

    I paid for an order under priority delivery. The order was never delivered to me. Instacart team member confirmed this. I was made to fill out a form in which someone would get back to me within 48 hours to “possibly” redeliver my order. I'm pregnant and don't have any extra money to spend. I rely on Instacart because I live in an apartment community on the third floor with no elevators. I've now canceled my membership with Instacart indefinitely and will be leaving this review on all possible platforms. To deny me a same day delivery when I have provided all the proof in which instacart themselves deemed as truthful..and to still be forced to wait up to 48 hours to get my food is ridiculous. If the store price is higher than what the site shows, you will be charged the higher price. If the price in store is lower, or your rewards card offers a discount, Instacart will not give you the lower price and THEY WILL KEEP THE DIFFERENCE. Class action, anyone? Pic of my ID and pic of my card to “prove identity”. I get an email back saying my account will remain locked and their service is not available to me anymore. The gift card is nonrefundable since they allowed me to redeem it. So they have stolen $150 from me!!!

    I can’t even put the gift card on a different account! This is straight up theft! I’m not rich I don’t just have $150 to throw away! I need that money back or at least need my account unlocked so I can use the gift card! Theft theft theft! Customer service is no help. I’ve tried 3 different departments to get this taken care of! I am going to be contacting a lawyer! After this happened to me I started doing research and it seems like they have done this to a lot of people! Steal the gift card and lock the account! Customer service is rude reading from a script not answering any actual questions and avoiding the issue!

    Instacart has fraudulently charged me higher prices after checkout and refused to refund the difference. Instacart has refused to refund me for missing items when their own employee's delivery photo clearly shows the items in question missing. Instacart neglected to take action when a delivery employee threatened my husband upon delivery, screaming and cursing at him on our property. Instacart customer service agents hang up on you. Instacart does not permit customers to speak with appeals employees, so when you file for refund on damaged/missing items and they don't give your refund, you cannot pursue the issue in any manner. Instacart claims they issued refund and no refund is sent! Ever. Worst delivery company out there.

    I called today 7/8/2024 and told Ms. ** my financial situation and how my payments from my CitiVisa Bank Costco Card from anything due on 6/20/2024 have been revoked including a purchase on 5/25/2024 for about $137.69. Was placed on hold for over seven minutes. I was trying to do the right thing by apologizing to the supervisor. However, I have to resolve this same issue with other vendors and wanted them to have my contact information in regards to the situation. I now know maybe doing it myself might be better.

    Today July 3 2024..placed small order with Instacart from Fred Meyer.. The shopper didn't follow my delivery notes and got lost in apt bldg.. The notes included directions and suggest asking the office staff for help... He message he wasn't gonna go back to 1st floor to ask for directions so the shopper left my groceries on a ledge somewhere and sent me a picture. I called customer service 3 times was on hold quite a while.. 1st call I was told I would receive an email about my refund.. Didn't get it.. 1 hour later called again and was told my account was under investigation and I could not get a refund for the groceries I didn't receive. I made a 3rd call. Was told I could not get a refund because I have complained too often...

    I have been an Instacart customer about 4 years and very seldom complain and only have to refund me a few times if there was a problem.. I am gonna cancel my membership and have my bank stop payment! They're lost..I ordered at least 4-5 times every month because I'm older with severe joint problems so I don't get out much.

    NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!! I have had my account locked by Instacart. While trying to resolve the issue I have been told multiple times today that this company has departments that they have no communication with! I received an email requesting my DL for Identity Verification. Did that, no problem. Now they are demanding I send them a picture, actual photo, of my bank card.. which I would do if I could talk to someone and prove that there is a human on the other end of that email. I was informed that even the corporate office in CA cannot communicate with this specific dept. I refuse to send ANYONE a picture of my bank card or info that could possibly open my account up to fraudulent charges. This is not a legal request in my opinion and very poor business practice. The Supervisor at the corporate office also informed me that not 1 single executive actually works at the corporate office or is ever available for communication.

    So, the supervisor in charge is all you get and he has no ability to talk to anyone to fix anything. They are rude, the chat advisor practically accused me of being a scammer, and my account is still locked. There is no creating a new account to go around it. Instacart has shut down my ability to purchase groceries for my elderly father in law online so that my mother in law can pay for his food. This is the most horrible business.. and I am not convinced at this point they are a legitimate, above board company.. that I have ever seen in my life. I am willing to do any other verification they want.. but I will not send a picture of such nature and offer my account up to fraud.. That's not what sounds like a legal request to me. Now they are demanding the picture of my bank card.. or my account will remain closed.

    So basically my account is being held hostage by Instacart with my Bank Card Photo being the requested ransom.. and the company has no way to communicate with their kidnappers. Is this really legal business practice? This company should be shut down or be made to put better systems in place if you have an issue.. The world is too reliant on AI.. and if AI does all the work, why are these people drawing paychecks for nothing? I currently have filed complaints with the BBB, the FTC and soon the SEC to look into these business practices. I will update as the updates come.

    They signed me to a 1yr plan at $99 dollars. I tried to cancel over and over again! But they refused to cancel my plan! I told them that I got an email for a free trial! But when I got to the page it quickly signed me up for a 1 year contract! I told them if they could at the very least change it to 1 month, they again, refused! This is by far and above the most crooked, shady and unprofessional company ever! I will try to dispute the charges with my bank but who knows. All I can do now is rate them down in every single place that I can, since it's the only catharsis I can find without violence.

    Now, first off I was an Instacart customer since 2020. I overall, had very good experiences. I always tipped 25% to 30% when the service was great and 15% to 20% when it was just average. The delivery in my area was pretty decent. There were times for delivery there were important items I needed for that day were missing. They always refunded me. This happened maybe once or twice. Pick up at Aldi never a problem. My last delivery. AWFUL. The shopper quality has really gone downhill..First and foremost the order was over an hour late. I get it, things happen. Now I would have been a little more forgiving but MY COLD ITEMS WERE ALL RUINED. This shopper DID NOT keep items in a cooler and was doing several orders at once. (According to Insta cart).. So I did get credit only for my mostly ruined order. Oh and the milk smelled like fish? WTH?

    Now I used a $10 coupon because it was the 2nd order of the month. They refused to refund it to me to use on the new pick up order I had to do to get my fresh, correct items. They gave me $5 credit. Their customer service stinks. I canceled my subscription and will maybe do pick up once in a while. If you shop ALDI. Just use their website. Also, if there is a class action lawsuit for the consumers who got screwed by the greed of Instacart. I'm totally in. DO NOT RECOMMEND INSTACART EVER AGAIN.

    I placed a grocery order which uses Instacart. I received a final receipt which accurately reflected my order and the items delivered. However, when I checked my online grocery account, I noticed that the amount charged was different and significantly higher than the final receipt provided at delivery. Additionally, my online account shows that every item I ordered and received had been marked as substituted with random other products, which is incorrect.

    This is the second time within a short timeframe that this issue has occurred. This suggests dishonesty among the employees handling orders. I used Instacart for my grocery needs and expected to be charged accurately and honestly for the products I order. The Instacart shoppers shop for themselves. Beware of the dishonest employees this company has working for them.

    They run late and don’t care that you might have had to change your own schedule to meet them. Then another person will start the order and have to substitute items but sometimes the first shopper says he can’t find something and just gets something that looks close. Then, the first guy might bail and the second guy take over only to find the items (was the first guy even in the store?). Their customer service is awful and I have no idea why it exists. I got treated this way and I was a member. Too many problems for too much crap. Cancelled. I would suggest no one use them. They are kind of scammy. Just have the store deliver it or have the order prepared for pick up.

    Today I got sick while shopping after completing the first of a triple order at two stores. I contacted support because I knew it wasn’t best to proceed while actively throwing up! I stayed on the line with the agent until the return was done and the bump was given. The bump was then immediately taken away and my account is under review. Before this I had a 0% cancellation rate and have a 5 star rating. It’s unbelievable to me that the best shoppers on the platform are banned temporarily and have money actively removed from their account due to a personal emergency- actively getting sick. In the future, I will no longer contact contact support for any reason since they are obviously more of a hinderance than actually supportive. I will also be contacting news outlets to share that this is the expectation of Instacart shoppers.

    Instacart customer service lies. They say they will issue refunds, when they make a mistake, but it never shows up in your account. I keep getting overcharged, and they say they will fix the problem, but they don't. They only ever offer a $5 credit to EBT clients, even if the mistake is greater than $5. Also they overcharge extremely for weighted items. They charge you for 2 pounds of meat, when you only get 16 ounces. Shady things like that, and when you bring it to their attention, they say they will fix it, but never actually issue the difference. I never had problems with their service until I put in my EBT card. Now, they treat me very differently. Shame on instacart.

    ITS A SCAM! I ordered from Instacart after buying a certificate from Costco. I received a message saying this and I quote "Robandeep K, your instacart shopper. Hey some of your items are not available, they are restocking so if it's fine with you I can get your order rescheduled for a couple hours later." I responded 1 minute later and I quote "That's fine". 4 minutes later I received another text saying we are sorry for the inconvenience but we had to cancel your Costco Canada order. Your refund is in progress." I called Instacart as soon as I seen this message. The lady told me she was able to stop the cancelation and had rescheduled my order for later that day.

    I was on my bank app a little later and noticed a 150 dollar charge on my debit card. I know what the scam is. They think they will get cash for the order and reissue me a credit to use on Instacart. It won't work. I have sent in a fraud alert stating it was an unauthorized charge. I have all the records as well as recordings of all my phone conversations. They charge 20% more at least for Costco grocery, offer terrible service. I will never use their service again!     As a chronically ill person I thought I would be able to rely on Instacart to make shopping easier for me, and I pre-paid for a full year of the premium (plus) membership. That was a mistake! I've had bad shoppers that don't look for replacements, and even had to go TO the store in person to return something because by the time I had opened it (it was shelf-stable peanut butter) Instacart said there was nothing they could do. I cannot get over that they won't help me address this one bad item because it's been more than 5 days since purchase. I then immediately reached out to cancel my membership and get a pro-rated refund and they declined that also, stating there was nothing they could do.

    They will literally do nothing and offer no customer service. I can't get over how bad the support has been (I've been wasting an hour chatting with support just now). In addition, it's extremely costly, with fees, tipping, and higher prices in some stores, it's just a really huge price gouge scheme. I will not be a customer of instacart and do not recommend them.

    Two horrible things about Instacart:

    1. There is no audible sounds to alert to my phone if the shopper sends me a message or can't find or replaces an item. I've spent a lot of time searching for answers on this and set up my phone to allow all notifications from Instacart but still don't get these alerts. Many others have complained as well about this. How hard is it to fix?

    2. Shoppers often mix up my groceries with other customers. This causes all kinds of problems for me with my meal planning. And after this happened enough times Instacart stops issuing refunds because they think I am lying, which I am not! I have plenty of money and am extremely honest and conscientious, so I would never lie about this. It's extremely insulting. Instacart needs to take a hard look at their hiring and screening practices as they are in some cases allowing bottom of the barrel human beings to work for them.

    If I could give Instacart a minus number review, I would! This is the WORST company I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with and their customer service is horrible. After placing an order with them for Sprouts, the shopper took SO long to get me my food that everything frozen or cold came warm or at room temperature. When I reached out to the company for a refund of these items, they blatantly refused to refund me on any of those items. This isn't the first time it's happened, but I guarantee, it will be the last.     Pay close attention, Instagram gives NO return of EBT funds nor Instacart account credits when the order is incorrect or incomplete! My order was missing $19.37 of products but the refund was only .$45.... 45 cents. It is theft of benefits that elders cannot afford.

    I am having a bad experience with some Instacart shoppers not delivering the entire order and I am charged for the entire order. This is happening with me for the second time. When I report it to Instacart customer service, I get a message saying they are unable to provide refund. I feel scammed as I am charged in full without delivering the full order. I am sure I won't renew my account again. Also, I suggest anybody to never for annual membership. The service is going down. Instacart should take steps to ensure the shoppers are delivering everything in the order. My ticket id for the recent issue is **. I still have not received any refund. It feels horrible when you are charged for missing items and shopper walks away with your grocery item for free.

    Instacart has to be the worse app in the history of delivery services. I’ve had an ongoing issue with my account for about two years. Customer service has no information (not even supervisors) to help in the matter. They don’t have a direct line for you to communicate with anyone. While trying to resolve my issue the agent rudely ended the conversation without resolving any issue. After a year of fighting this matter, I asked the team to just delete my account. They informed me that I am now under investigation and my account cannot be deleted. DO NOT DRIVE/WORK FOR THEM!!!

    I've used Instacart in the past and sometimes things happen and there is a mistake. Normally, they refund the money. Today, I was missing an item to my order and notified them. However, customer service sent me an email with the following: "We reviewed your request, and unfortunately, we can’t issue any refunds, credits, or redelivery for this order. If you had an issue with replacement items, you can avoid future issues by updating your replacement settings." So, basically, they are stating that they can now steal your money and not give you an item, replacement, nor refund! I'll never shop with them and do my best to make sure that others know about this. I would upload an image of a paper receipt but I only have it via email and online and it takes up more than the full screen.

He is calling sheriff to see if I have an alarm system. Only explanation it someone trying to set us up for some sort of theft.     Instacart lures people in with offering free delivery then signs them up for yearly membership of $111 and more that wasn't requested. There is no e-mail address provided to contact supervisor. If you want to call them the number is 1844-981-3433. They are extremely difficult about returning my money, even though I didn't use their services not even once since they enrolled me in a membership. Dishonest business, not transparent, I won't be using their services.

    Scammers are allowed to shop for customers and Instacart does not escalate these issues. Poor response to serious issues. Purchased an order today. The shopper checked out and started to head my way. I thought changes could not be made, but this shopper was able to replace two items I had for 14 pairs of shorts for each item. Adding an additional $350 to my total. That was 28 pairs of shorts! I don't know how they are allowed to make changes to the order after they checked out but Instacart allowed it. I called customer support immediately and they have not resolved the issue. I sent screenshots of the chat and they see the original charge order. It's a $350 difference from the original charge so it's obviously a scam.

    Giving them one star was the only option, other that to say they SUCK. My first time ordering, waited until the end of the delivery window, (ok) then delivered to the wrong address which is quite clear from the pic taken in front of the wrong address. Driver told me they have to leave the order that has delivery address and was no help. My order was placed correctly and I did not receive the items at all. THEN, there re no refunds until 5 - 10 business days on an order I never got. Customer Service sucks too. DO NOT USE IF YOU VALUE YOUR MONEY.

    I ordered flowers to be delivered thru Instacart. The flowers that were received were not even close to the ones that were paid for.     I placed an order on the Lowe's app (Maple Shade, NJ store), it was for 6 flowering hanging basket plants. I placed it @ 2am (home delivery by InstaCart for $15.00), plus a tip of course. App said delivery between 8am-8pm, great, don’t go to bed. This was 5/17. At 2:07pm, got a text from #**, Sergio R., “item is not available”. I replied “which item? There are 3 different ones.” Crickets. “I asked workers, item out of stock.” I called Lowe’s, spoke to Rebecca, Nope, items in stock, ready for pick up.

    I guess Sergio R. Didn’t think $15 was enough $$ for the hassle/effort of lugging 6 hanging flower plants to a customer (even with a measly tip). So they pick and choose huh? I called InstaCart customer service, said WTH? “The items were out of stock so the order was cancelled.” Excuse me? Who canceled it? No it’s not cancelled, no it’s not out of stock, your driver/shopper decided it was too much work and told a story (lied), the items are waiting to be picked up (still), according to Jessica in Customer Service at Lowe’s of Maple Shade. After getting nowhere, just a “sorry for the inconvenience”. I had Jessica at Lowe’s cancel the order and suggested that Lowe’s dump InstaCart as their delivery service option, because they suck. No flowers, thanks.

    This company is a thief! More than once they have taken multiple transactions from my account. I had to fight tooth and nail for 2 weeks to get this issue resolved because they insisted it was incorrect or it was my bank. After finally getting to speak to someone that was somewhat competent, he was able to realized it was indeed their fault. He was able to get a refund back to my account but for the incorrect and lower amount. Insisted that was all they could do for me. And now I have to wait 10 business days for my money to get back into my account. Their services are a joke!!!! I wish I never used them but unfortunately I had a broken foot and not a lot of options. Avoid at all costs!!! Unless you want to wait up to a month to be refunded the incorrect amount. Nothing like paying (literally) for their mistake. Now I am still out money because they couldn't do proper math and refund me the correct amount.

    Multiple problems with deliveries. Deliveries late. Deliveries went to wrong house. Found container of food once in my driveway broken (ricotta). The last straw was that I was forced to cancel my order due to the shopper being late and he charged me a $15 cancellation fee, which they would not waive! My delivery timeframe was 11am-1pm and shopper tells me it’s coming 1:30-2pm!!! Needed by 1 pm as items were for a party. I will never ever use Instacart again. Worst service ever!!     The delivery driver stole the items. They marked as delivered. This was a gift for Mother's Day and the individual was waiting for it. When it was marked as delivered, she went outside since no one rang the doorbell. No one was outside. The rep stated they would redeliver and then received an email. The appeal was denied. I wasn't aware of an appeal. I requested that this issue be escalated and to receive a phone call. No one has reached out via email nor phone.

    I joined Instacart as a shopper. Went through the background check and got started. In 4 days I was able to get one order. This was a heavy grocery shop that included multiple heavy items including flats of pop. Customers order and instacart shoppers hustle to buy the best quality items and deliver to you as quickly as possible. Sounds great right? Sure.. for the customer only. I was paid $8 to work 1.5 hours from start of shop to delivery. Customers don't tip and these hard working people that so desperate for a dollar that they sit and stare at their phone for something to even cover the cost of gas ... 4 days I have made $8.

    Priority goes to people who have had good reviews and earned a higher priority to get good paying jobs. Treats new hires like mules and offer them only what has been refused by everyone else. It's the saddest pyramid scheme using human beings. It doesn't even feel legal in Canada to work this way. I am disappointed in myself for wasting 4 days for $8. More people are using the shop and pick up service provided by most big box stores now.. so if you are considering ways to help make ends meet during tough times.. avoid this one .. Trust me. It will cost you more ..way more than you will ever make.

    We begin using Instacart during the pandemic. For the most part, we were pleased. Recently, service has sucked! Two times they have embarrassed us. First time the order never arrived, a complete no show. I placed the order the night before for the next day mid morning delivery. The web-site showed a 10 AM delivery window. Through-out the day, the time slot kept sliding to a later time. The order never showed up. I canceled at 8PM. Mother's day, I did not add the steaks to my order. My mistake! I added them a few minutes after I placed the order. I thought all was good, even received an acknowledgement from the shopper.

    But about the time of the scheduled delivery, I received a customer service call telling me the add-on was too expensive to add, on this order. I needed to place another order. Thanks to Instagram baked potato, and salad was not an impressive to my wife. I will not use Instacart again! If we depend on a paid service, they must provide the service. Never again. Instacart, on both occasions waited until the last minute to notify me of a problem. Too late for me to make other arrangements.

    Do yourself a wonderful favor and never use Instacart. The shoppers come late, deliver damaged and very expired foods. They even drive across your lawn to save a few footsteps. One actually drove clear across my lawn and parked in directly in front of my front door. I have photos for proof. Instacart doesn't care about the customers, only themselves.

    Instacart does not value gift cards. I added a gift card to my Instacart account for them and they charged my debit card customer service. They told me I had to use my gift card next time. I told them to cancel my order then I replaced the order, select the gift card again and it did the same thing. I wait for my order and contact Instacart. They told me there was no way to refund my money and use the gift card. I had to use the gift card order after 45 minute hold. The magic is on the phone and tells me that I have to deal with it because there’s no way to switch out my method of payment. I was supposed to click the button that says use my credit. I told him that I did. I also screenshot it it and and inform them that I could send it to them.

    The manager hung up on me so as of now my Instacart account has been deleted. And the picture of the person for my order was not the person that delivered my order. It was a man. Poor customer service. Does not follow their own policy. They’re in a business of taking people money if a shopper makes a mistake or items are missing. They do not want to refund your money, they want to give you a credit. Why would you want credit? I use my gift card the same day at a different store. I still have a little bit left and they could keep it. I will never use Instacart again.

    This company is VERY deceitful. This company is deceitful and their customer service is a joke. They are lazy and don't want to help with anything. When items are missing, they have promised credits, because obviously you shouldn't have to pay for something you do not receive, however, they tend to NOT give that credit. I have had to call several times, deal with AWFUL customer service. Their fees are ridiculous!! DO NOT USE THEM. THEY ARE A DISHONEST, HORRIBLE BUSINESS!!!!

    I have used Instacart around 10 times in the last 18 months. I only would do an order of at the max 15 grocery items. Twice I had tried to do a large order with a nice tip. What happens is the shopper, for whatever reason perhaps decides the order is too much trouble and all the sudden the store doesn't have 20 items. What also was disturbing a few of the shoppers were wearing a "keffiyeh". Never wore these items of clothing until recently. The incident that made me delete my Instacart account was my order this week was delivered by someone different, it was not the shopper pictured in the app. Also this person did not reply to the chat.

    I called Instacart customer service and questioned the situation, I was told they were not supposed to do this meaning let someone else use their account. The takeaway from this is a person can use a family or friend to become a Instacart shopper if they are denied and Instacart has no way to police this so a convicted felon can show up at your door!

    Such a scam. They would not refund the annual membership, even though it was within the 5-day policy. The live chat kept saying "the system" wouldn't let them. Then I phoned and got passed on to two different people, who put me on hold for half an hour, claiming to talk to a manager. Then I was given a ticket number and told someone would email me within 1-2 days to resolve the issue. No email. I just called again, and there was no record of the ticket number, so I have to start explaining all over again. So far, I've been transferred twice and now told that no one has the authority (not even a supervisor) to refund a membership. Also, on my last order, I paid the express fee to have the order delivered by a certain time. The shopper then told me they would be two hours past the guaranteed delivery time.

    Very first use of Instacart. Shopper sends me text saying she left my groceries at the store, and never checked me out!! Then sent a "delivered" text to me! Elderly person w/ desperately needed food!!

    They double charge your account and don’t reimburse in a timely manner or respond to emails. They don’t have an easy way to contact customer service and actually charged me twice so my account went in the negative - terrible customer service.

    I tried signing up for Instacart on a month to month basis. They automatically put through an annual fee! I thought fine, I will probably use it all the time so okay. Then Instacart keeps delivering food from a store that has terrible food. I asked if they can change the store. They said they can't. I asked if they can refund - even partially - my annual fee of $99. I would be fine with a pro-rated fee. They said they can't. Seriously horrible customer service! What a rip off! This should be illegal.

    Biggest scammers and worst customer service ever. They will keep billing you for memberships although you are not using the service and refuse to refund you. They have the most shady terms and billing practices.

    Beware of the subscription. It automatically renews your subscription and you only have 5 days grace period to cancel. So by the time you get your card card statement, it's too late. And they will not refund you.

    I thought that I had signed up for monthly subscription. However, it was annual which ended up being $106. I called and explained the mistake, but they would not refund me the money nor change it to a monthly subscription.

    The order was delivered next door so my food sat outside for over an hour before my neighbor discovered this. Half the order was not there although King Soopers had the food items. Instacart shoppers and my experience has been poor in general every time I order from this app- from 2020 during Covid til now. Unfortunately, Amazon does a much better job so I can’t say that I will ever use Instacart again. The shoppers struggle, they deliver to the wrong address, they don’t have all the items in the order even though you have been charged for them and frequently the store has all the items you need but the shopper doesn’t take the time to find them. It’s really not a good service.
