About every 4 months now... get phone call or email asking for proof of three, not one but three, insurances. Condo master... that comes with list two page list of terms it must meet. Of course I have not control over the condo master policy selection and provisions... what they going to do, make me pay for new one for 64 units myself. Condo master flood policy and my unit owners policy. All 3 with State Farm. Moreover State Farm has program to update Ocwen automatically each time they all renew... but this never seems to be recorded or recognized by Ocwen...

Then we fax copies over same over and over and over... both I and the insurance agent then call to make sure they got them and I am good to go. This was all confirmed 4 months ago... Feb/Mar 2015. Now yesterday just got another letter to confirm master and phone message to that end too... it renew in September... this is July. I am ready to take a bullet and cash in my IRA to pay these ** loan off and get rid of them. I believe they were fined once before by the federal government for this... or was it Wells Fargo?

I requested a payoff amount from OCWEN after they had taken over the servicing of my loan from INDYMAC. ALL CALLS ARE IMMEDIATELY DIRECTED TO INDIA! I asked to speak to someone in the US who could more clearly explain my situation but kept getting put on hold and then transferred to another person in India. The property had been in foreclosure so I sold it. The payoff amount had almost $22,000 in padded charges. It listed "Foreclosure cost, fee and charge" 3 times for different amounts! They charged me $11.00 per month for 5 year for "Property inspection fee"? I was charged $7,800 in legal filing fees but only $1,800 in Attorney fees! There was $444 in "mailing charges"! All these were disputed with absolutely no resolution or offer in compromise. I now have to complain to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and the O.C.C. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE COMPANY!

It all started when H&R Block sold our loan to Option One. We were in good standing on our loan. Suddenly Option One said we owed money for escrow. While we went back and forth with the people in India they started returning our mortgage payments and wouldn't accept them and wouldn't work with us to take partial payments for the escrow owed. Suddenly, we were thrown in foreclosure as Option One said we were behind on our payments 3 months.

In order to save our home we went through hell to now renegotiate and we had to come up with a $5000 fee for their attorney legal fees. We were able to do a 5 year interest-only loan to lower our payments that had skyrocketed. For the next five years we paid faithfully on time. In the meantime Option One sold our loan to Homeward Residential and it seemed everything was still the same. In the meantime my spouse declared bankruptcy for personal debt, exempting the home. Soon after Homeward Residential sold us to Ocwen Loan. Our 5 yr interest-only loan was up and Ocwen now demanded $500 more a month. It has been very difficult to make those payments, but we did faithfully every month.

It has been 2 years since my bankruptcy and now we are trying to refinance through a bank to get out from under Ocwen. Every time we called they talk about our bankruptcy. They often don't send us statements and they haven't reported our payments to credit bureaus for the last 6 months. Now, they are lying to Bank of America about my bankruptcy. My husband has worked hard to keep his good credit, even though mine is not. We were thrown into foreclosure once by deceptive practices and fear this is happening again. No bank will want to work with us. Even if we try to sell this will hurt us.

They have caused me to seriously contemplate legal separation or divorce from my husband of 32 years to get my name and bankruptcy off my husband's records, so I will not be associated and he can get out from under Ocwen, sell the home and buy something else. These people from Option One down to Ocwen has caused us so much stress and no joy in owning our home. It is the only asset we have as we near retirement. They have caused us such struggle financially and no way out. It's time to sue! I know we didn't deserve this!

Ocwen mails my insurance payment to the wrong company and I don't find out until I return from vacation that my insurance was canceled a month ago. Multiple calls and requests end up with no resolution. I have to buy another policy, on my own, losing my 25 year loyal discount from my insurance company. Ocwen finally pays on a canceled policy and let the merry-go-round begin. Months later I get everything resolved and even my discount reinstated. Their customer service is pathetic... so much so I refinanced just to get away from them at just a slightly lesser rate. Then I get a final escrow statement showing that my final escrow reimbursement will be $2,300... You guessed it, check shows up for $700 less and I am told that the final statement should be ignored. Goodbye forever Ocwen!

I went to the Credit Union on the 10th of June after finding out that the money was being returned to my account. Once I called Ocwen and found out that they could not accept the 1000.00. However I was able to borrow the money from a relative to make it 3888.26. I went to our credit union and wired the money and they accepted it as payment.

My father passed. Ocwen has his loan. I called them to find out where to mail death certificate and documents. They told me that they could only give that information to the account holder. The account holder is deceased. They have the worst call center. I told them that I understood that they could not give out any information on the account but I needed to know where they wanted the death certificates sent. Three months to get the address to mail documents in. Mailed in documents. Who knows how long it will take to process? They won't even tell me if they have received the documents I sent in. I don't know how my dad got mixed up with this company. They were not the loan company I thought he had. Maybe they bought his loan. But if anybody has a choice they should never use this company.

I called Ocwen and I was told that any money sent would not be accepted and that it would be sent back. I have of yet spoken with an English speaking employee. Now I received a bill that to get reinstated I have to pay another amount even after calling to send the money in. My original loan was with another company and then in 2013 the account was sold to Ocwen without consent. I was also threatened with not having flood insurance and having to buy their insurance. In my home state does not require flood insurance if you do not live in a flood zone. WE DO NOT.

Ocwen offered a mortgage modification in 2010 then took it back when they found out their title company failed to follow their instructions to have my HELOC lender sign a subordination document when the Ocwen mortgage was filed originally thereby leaving them in second lien position. I contacted the company that owned the loan and thru the kindness of one incredible person there who contacted Ocwen and was my ally in getting a loan modification pushed thru, Ocwen relented in 2014 and sent the modification documents to me with a self addressed return priority envelope. Signed, notarized and sent it back in their envelope. Went online to track the package USPS - they had nothing in their system. Being a veteran with Ocwen's dirty tricks I had copies of everything - even the envelope.

Long story short, because Ocwen had a time limit that the papers had to be received by or the offer was no good, I faxed the signed documents to Ocwen so they couldn't say they didn't receive them. I lodged an inquiry with USPS and as of today, no one knows where the documents are but my post office supervisor said that the bar code on the envelope wasn't a valid address so chances were that the docs were sent into the great dead letter office in the sky.

My taxes had been escrowed by Ocwen before the loan mod which started in January 2015. In September 2014 while they were still losing my loan docs and stalling, I got a notice from my town tax collector saying my taxes due Sept 2014 were never paid. I called Ocwen (they are slick enough never to put anything in writing or let you contact them thru email) and was told that since they agreed to be in second lien position that they would no longer escrow taxes and insurance and I was responsible to pay my own taxes and insurance. Ok, so I've been paying my taxes, etc. directly. Let it be known that Ocwen NEVER notified me they didn't pay the taxes so I incurred a sizable late fee. Yesterday I went online to pay my Ocwen payment and guess what! They are now billing me for an escrow account even tho they are the ones that refused to escrow my taxes.

Called India and spoke with ** (yeah, right, that's what his parents in India thought was a good name for him). He told me to send in the amount they billed me for, he would put in a request to de-escrow the account and if they found I was correct they would send me a check. Needless to say, I held back from laughing because, after all, these guys in India hate speaking to women, but truly hell would freeze over before Ocwen sent me any money. I asked ** to schedule a telephone contact with my relationship manager, ** didn't want to schedule the appt, he told me he could answer any questions. Told him I still wanted to speak to my relationship manager, ** asked me what I wanted to ask him, told ** I didn't have an exact list but would put my thoughts on paper and be ready by the time the call came.

He asked me when and what time I would like this appt. I said, "Monday," he said, "What time?" I asked if I could pick a time or whether there were time slots allocated for telephone appts? Finally, ** gave me three open times, I picked one and now I'm waiting to have the appt and have all the documents ready and will wait to see what fancy sidestepping these underworld snakes are going to pull. Ocwen just paid huge fines for its shady money business and they are looking to use other people's money to keep their scheme going. Bottom line... keep all your documents and try to contact the lien holder directly so you at least have a chance of fighting these rats.

I had the misfortune of missing a couple of payments due to health reasons. Ocwen was going to foreclose on my home without offering any payment plan option. I filed chapter 13, completed it and was deemed current July of 2013. I hadn't missed a payment throughout the bk. In September of 2013 they began to return my payments stating I owed 13 thousand immediately or they were going to foreclose on my home. They couldn't tell me what the money was for and denied receiving all bk payments. I sent them a fax reflecting all payments proof and the discharge from federal courts deeming me current. I had no money for an attorney since I had just completed bk so I tried via fax and calls to India to straighten things out to no avail.

After 6 months of returning checks I becoming nearly suicidal I went to a friend with a law degree. We sent a 90 page fax proving my claims of current. She spent hours on the phone, multiple conversations with their "research" dept. They call her every day for collections but cannot tell her what payment they feel I missed. Their own correspondence reflects the finalization of bk. The spreadsheet they sent reflects charges for foreclosure, fees (other) and assessments that occurred during bk. Illegal. Their own paperwork shows how they hold a payment then apply it calling it late and add a charge!

Finally, after 13 months of financial terrorism I went to an attorney. I am suing them for contempt of court on federal court system and multiple state law infractions. The bank Ocwen and now their attorneys are listed as defendants. I now have their attention. They are offering settlements in order to avoid the jury trial we are demanding. They are lawbreakers. My advice is get a lawyer asap. There is no other way to deal with this company!

I am not an attorney, I have legal counsel. I have been fleeced by OCWEN. Please understand that OCWEN is a loan servicing company, NOT A MORTGAGE company, nor HOME INSURANCE company, nor ESCROW company. OCWEN would like for you to believe they are all of these things, however if you look closely at the paperwork they send, they clearly admit they are not any of those things. They are a SERVICE company that charges horrific fees for your personal convenience and eventual discredit.

OCWEN services loans for more than one financial institution. Trying to get the name of your financial institution (the one that is holding the paper on your home) is nearly impossible through OCWEN. This practice is flat out illegal in any state in the USA. You have the RIGHT to KNOW WHO your LENDER is, and as a debtor, you are entitled to have the full information of LENDER, such as full legal business name, full legal business address, and telephone number.

WHAT is LEGAL and what is ILLEGAL. OCWEN as a loan servicing company has the legal responsibility to the LENDER that all encumbrance upon the debtor is clear. This in a nutshell means, all monthly payments are made in a timely fashion, all property taxes are paid up to date, and the property is insured against total loss. That is their job. It is NOT their job to make any payments in or for the debtor behalf, nor assign property insurance, nor pay outstanding property taxes. However, if they do provide any such service, (chances are WITHOUT your consent) they (OCWEN) are entitled for full reimbursement plus costs for their service.

With the advise of legal counsel and a letter from your attorney, you can STOP OCWEN from assigning insurance, paying property taxes, filing bogus late charges to your account, and most importantly, remove negative credit reports from all credit reporting agencies. There is such a thing as credit reporting abuse and OCWEN surely fits the role model.

You are not UNDER THE THUMB of OCWEN financial services. You do have a choice. If you find that your loan has been put under the services of OCWEN, you need to find out WHO your LENDER name is and get away from them as quickly as possible. Get LEGAL assistance NOW. The longer you wait, the more you will lose financially. Until OCWEN is closed and seized for misappropriation of finances, they will continue to operate under a thin guise of law. They are nothing more than a consumer rip-off parading as a legitimate business with enormous funding.

I was like some...I got locked out of their (Ocwen) website years ago. So I started making my payment through bill pay with my bank so that there would be a running proof of my payments. A few years ago Ocwen placed or charged my account for $869.00 for something I never heard of. I didn't pay it no mind. I keep all my statements and letters that were sent to me by them because I knew I would need this later and continued to make my payments to them. I was due to pay Ocwen off in May 2015. In March 2015 I pulled my credit report and it stated that my principle balance reported by them was $263.00. Ocwen's last statement sent to me was in March 2015. I continue to make payments on this account until June 1 2015.

June 17 2015 I received a refund to my bank account. I also got a refund for the same amount on June 23 2015. I checked my credit report and it's showing that I owe them over $600. I called them and asked them why. But before all that I let him know that they were being recorded. I talk to a customer care agent and he could not answer my questions so he forwards my call to another person. Before we got started I informed her that she was being recorded also. The lady then told me she could not talk to be because I was recording her. I told her if you all could record me I have the right to record you; she still would not talk to me. I'm going to contact my State Attorney General because I made those payments faithfully for ten years and they are not going to try to take my house over this. I have every single paper of receipt of payment that I have made to them. They are not consistent with their balances that are due.

My original loan was with IndyMac who sold to Ocwen. One Saturday afternoon I received a certified Letter from Ocwen stating I was in default and I hadn't made a payment since March 2015. I couldn't understand why. I made my March, April, May and June of 2015 on time and according to their statements. Phoned them and they said my payments were reversed. Didn't know what that meant. They couldn't give me an answer only that I was to pay them $2,405.00 before June 25, 2015 if I wanted to stop foreclosure.

My next question to them was, "so where are all my payments I made for Mar 2015, April 2015, May 2015 and June 2015?" Their response was they would get back to me. Today I called and they said, I'm not in default but they still don't know why I got a default letter. I'm just hoping they didn't ruin my credit. After reading all of the other complaints they are a rip off company and they don't even speak English clear. My question is, who owns this and who's running this company? They really need to look into this. I haven't been able to sleep since I got that Default certified letter. I'm just hoping this gets corrected and they get out of business.

I the homeowner of account #** Ocwen send this email asking for your help with the issues noted below. Please read the complaints and advise me in the direction I should go. I have been dealing with them for the past 6 months with no end to the problems, issues, harassing phone calls and threats of reporting me to the credit bureau if I don't make payments.

To be fair is to be honest and openly transparent. As a consumer and homeowner for the last 6 years with USAA through their mortgages services, I was pleased and very content. But all that changed in 2013 after my loan was transferred to Ocwen Loan Servicing Company/Debt Collector. This company has been nothing but a thorn in my side, causing me unnecessary stress and financial hardship month after month, with no real answers to why my account with them is constantly neglected. Since taking over, my mortgage has steadily increased with no explanation. No one has the right answers, managers are never available and Customer Service Representatives are clueless.

Each month has been a headache, they call repeatedly harassing my wife and myself telling us that our mortgage is late or insufficient. Every month they tell me I need to send in addition funds to cover the shortage ($111.94) to bring my account current or they will have to report me to the credit agencies. So, to keep my credit in good standing plus feeling pressured, I send in the money. Hoping that the next month will be different, but it never is.

Within the last 6 months I have sent in a total of ($ 7100.00) in late fees, shortages, mortgage payments and escrow payments with no end in sight. As of yesterday (6/22/2015), my account was negative so in order to bring current, I did a bank transfer of ($111.94) to Ocwen. The customer service rep said that my account will be in good standing from here on out - but I have heard that each month since their takeover.

Ocwen Loan Servicing Company is a rip off and a big scam taking advantage of consumer by inflating their monthly mortgage payments and tacking on additional fees. They claim the additional fees and amounts are due to insurance increases and property taxes. That is true to a certain degree but not every month. I am very frustrated and extremely disappointed with the service I am receiving from them (Ocwen). So, I am submitting this complaint here in hopes that if you are having issues with Ocwen, maybe we can start a class action lawsuit against them. Thank you so very much for listening and hearing me. I need help with this monster, Ocwen Loan Servicing.

Know that I had a near mis-electrical fire, I was furious. I wound not have had any homeowners coverage.

Nevertheless, when I found out I scampered to get a new policy and requested Ocwen to remit payment to the new Insurance company in the approx. $2600. The remaining credit to the escrow has now disappeared after I asked for the escrow credit to be mailed back to me. I have requested information about this. Ocwen assumed my mortgage from Homeward Residential on April 16th, 2013. On December 2014 I contacted Ocwen to open an escrow account for my taxes. I received a letter on January 27, 2015 telling me they would open one and to send a check for $756.57 as a deposit. In this letter there were additional payments monthly -- $30.26 -- which was added to my mortgage. For remaining escrow I started paying this additional amount starting March 2015. When I contacted them in May to be sure this was being done, they told me that I didn't have an escrow account. I told them I had the letter from them saying one was set up. I couldn't believe what I was hearing.

I have tried unsuccessfully for the past month, spoken to at least 4 different people, and I just get the runaround. One says they made a mistake and it's being fixed. Another says different. They send me in circles. I asked to speak to someone in Florida where I live. I contacted the West Palm Beach office when I opened this. I can't reach that office.

Last time I spoke to someone they told me I had to pay another $214.34 a month starting July. They can't explain why. I can't really understand them. I had a payment scheduled of $32.26 sent in a letter. Why has this changed? This comes out to an additional $1,286.04. My taxes for the year are about $1,800.00.

This doesn't make sense. I just don't trust this company anymore. This sounds like a scam. I would like to speak to someone in the US that I can understand better who can explain and make me understand. Please advise.

One of the tricks they will use is to increase your payments by using the escrow accounts. The way they raised my payment was to stop paying my insurance company and when the policy was cancelled they sold me another at twice the cost. To avoid this do not allow them to pay your insurance or chose your insurance. The same goes for the taxes. They will allow your taxes to go unpaid and then you must make it up at a higher cost for being late.

All these tricks are designed to make you late on your payments by making you spend more money than you need to. Keep in mind that their departments do not talk to each other. If you want to have your escrow adjusted you have to contact them yourself and do not expect quick service. The excess amounts in your escrow account provides them with an interest free loan. This you will just have to accept and make sure you get the refund at the end of the year by keeping your current address current with them. While OCWEN employees act stupid keep in mind that they are behaving the way they are trained. Do not let them rile you into getting mad and don't fall behind in payments. This is their goal and will pave the way for them to foreclose on your home and sell it for profit.

My mortgage was paid on time and current wasn't "part of the plan". I now just received a notice that they are assessing me 200.00 dollars for their attorney fees. Again, not talking a huge dollar amount but how can they come back after 5 years and assess me 200.00? Why wasn't this part of the initial case or claim? My statement comes in the following month and shows that I owe 2 payments. I call them up and after poor (English) speaking I had asked to speak to a manager. I was told that I had put a stop payment on the check, so I called my bank and ask who put a stop payment on it? I was told the only way this could happen is if I came into the bank and authorized a stop payment, which I never did!!!

The funds were back in my bank account 2 months after the fact, I had no idea where the money was. I was told I am month behind and had to pay a penalty fee. After numerous phone calls, we worked out I would pay an extra 264.00 each month for 3 months. Since then my loan was sold to Seterus, which my first payment is for 5000.00 because they are saying I am late and Ocwen only sent a 1000 check to them. I have never missed a payment since buying my house 11 yrs ago and have all bank transactions showing a payment going out ever month. I'm not sure how to fix this??? Just like the rest of us, we are living pay to pay and trying to make ends meet. Is there a class action lawsuit out there against this company?

I checked my bank statement, and a total of 1008.85 has been taken from my bank account. But when I went into the Ocwen site, the payment applied to my account was short the second check for 500.00.

They have no record of the payment being received. Seriously! I even included a letter with the payments advising them how I wanted to them processed and why. Having to deal with these people is aggravating to say the least. I want to speak to someone that actually deals with the company, but all you ever get is the call center in India. I'm so frustrated I'm thinking about just going to my bank and get a personal loan and just pay it off. Oh but get this, you have penalties for early payment. This really sucks. My mortgage was with GMAC, but was bought out in 2014 by Ocwen. Ever since then, things have been horrible! At the end of the year, I expected the company to send a summary of the balance listed from their bank for me to cross compare with my records... Received nothing. So I went online to see if there was one there... NOT. Then in February, I expected an escrow summary showing an increase/decrease due to insurance premium & property tax and what to expect for an increased payment. I received nothing once again. In April, a normal payment was made; however, it was short $8.79 due to a payment increase that I knew nothing about. It was not even listed at this time online.

On April 12, a statement arrived in the mail so I went to try to pay it online; however, it would not let me pay the $8 difference online saying it would only accept full payment. They HAD my first payment in "suspense". My bank showed the first payment cleared four days before the statement was even mailed. My questions is... for those few days the brunt of my payment was in suspense, was I still charged interest for those days?

The second issue occurring as we speak, is over the past two months. My payment has changed three times without any notice as to why! The third issue is undergoing a name change.... A lot of information has been sent to them, and nothing is done. I tried calling them and they want more info... NO! When I try to speak to a representative, they are so speaking from a script and very hard to understand! They do not address any problem and nothing has been resolved. I wish there was more regulations for this type of company. I have worked to establish a great credit score and don't need a company who I did not choose as a lender to ruin it!

After finally getting Ocwen to acknowledge the signed, notarized and executed agreement dated 5/1/2014 on my first complaint with the CFPA in January 2015, resolution was mostly what we asked for; except when they repaired our credit reports they left the wording "paying partial payment agreement" on the report. This is untrue. We have a mortgage that was modified due to being a high interest only loan when it was written. Our credit is perfect without this flaw when we have been paying as agreed all along just like we do all of our bills. We get nowhere with Ocwen constantly calling, sending new agreements and transfer letters. We have a letter from Ocwen dated 4/15/15 stating our mortgage was transferred to another servicer and to send all future payments to them starting May 1. We did this. We decided to refinance this mortgage would be best and got preapproved 4/28/15.

Our new mortgage broker calls for a payoff on 5/4 with the new servicer and got nowhere. Now suddenly she is told we owe over $10,000 in past due charges and that would have to be paid before we could get a payoff. She asked for the accounting on the account from them to show this and was told there would be a fee. We have every receipt from every payment all on time, as agreed. No records from Ocwen to show where this is from have been shown. She then calls the Ombudsman that wrote the letter whom then decides our current contract is no good and we need a new modification dated 4/1/2014 (over one year ago) increasing our payments (to make all the payments we have made to date short) and increasing our principal higher than we have ever borrowed to $96,029.85. We got the modification because two years ago we were told at $92,000 we were upside down in our house.

Our correct principal was on the signed agreement $91,683.99 as evidenced by our statement from Ocwen for May stating $91,683.99 as the balance at the time of the agreement. Now we have been told that we cannot get a refinance payoff correctly until we sign this new backdated agreement which steals every bit of equity we may have in our home. Ocwen is attempting to enforce a unsigned agreement to in effect give them over $6000 of our equity to allow us to refinance. Our balance reported on 2/3/2015 to credit reporting agencies was $89,526 which includes our payments over the past year. My husband has a life threatening heart condition and Ocwen has been asked on more than one occasion to NOT call him. Now the relationship manager ** is attempting to contact my husband like we are starting a new modification.

We are attempting to enforce a signed legal contract and its terms which are correct; not sign some bogus bait and switch backdated agreement for way more money than we have ever owed on this home. The new modification terms in this contract are laughable it has a Maturity Date is 3/1/2054; now converting my 30 year mortgage to a 40 year mortgage. I will not be signing another agreement with Ocwen and wish to have them release my mortgage under the terms we all agreed to on 5/1/2014 so we may refinance this mortgage with a company that doesn't steal our equity. Our principal by my records is $89303.50, not $96029. Bait & switch on a contract is something that needs to be looked into. We would be very interested in speaking to an attorney and have all documents to prove our statements.

We have sent letters to the FTC, the State Attorney General, ABLE and have 3 complaints with the Consumer Financial Protection Agency in review. My husband is disabled and we are not eligible for legal aid due to my income. They know he is disabled and continue to harass him even after they have been asked not to contact him. They call our cell phones three times per day and only every ten times leave a short message to call them back. We get the run around on the phone, so that is not happening since it just gets us more upset than anything else. They have not cashed the last two checks (we made copies before mailing) and we have no idea what they will do next. We need help so we can get this refinance done and move on.

I won't go into a lot of detail, but due to extreme financial hardship (major surgeries, job loss, etc.) we have fallen 3 payments behind on our mortgage with Ocwen. They are threatening to foreclose if we fall one more payment behind. We did not choose to finance our home through Ocwen. They purchased our mortgage from another company. We filled out a Request for Modification but we didn't qualify for the HAMP. HAMP is supposed to be such a great program to help homeowners struggling to make their payments. In my opinion, HAMP is useless because it is based solely on your gross income and takes nothing else into account. It was not created to help the average homeowner who is having financial hardship. It was created to help those who were dumb enough to buy more house than they could afford.

Ocwen presented us with a program called SAM (Shared Appreciation Mortgage). I'm sure in some cases this program can be very helpful, but in our case it only lowered our mortgage payment by $12 per month. They said this was the best option they had for us and they are unwilling to help us in any other way. We refused the offer because it does absolutely nothing to help our current situation. Please stay away from Ocwen and their 'F' rating with the Better Business Bureau. If they purchase your mortgage from someone else, try to refinance through another lender as soon as possible.

On 5/6, rec'd ltr from ** that I needed to fax over proof of phone pmt I made to them on 4/1. Are they just that stupid or what? So, I got statement from my bank showing the money went into their acct on 4/2. On 5/11, rec'd call from ** acknowledging receipt of my fax. She said it would take about 2 wks to correct problem. My loan actually originated from GMAC and was sold to Ocwen in 2014. I've been an Ocwen "customer" since then, but not by choice. The original transfer of my mortgage was done without my consent. Today, while trying to pay my mortgage, I discovered Ocwen sold my loan to Chase. I was given less than 30 days notice. According to the customer service representative, by law they are only required to give 2 weeks notice. I only discovered this because I tried to make an online payment today and the Ocwen site refused to accept my payment, redirecting me instead to a customer telephone hotline.

I've contacted Chase, and while I do have a payment due on June 1, I am unable to make a payment until June 6. I've been given a grace period until July to make this payment. The Chase customer service representative stated that a welcome package has been mailed as of May 19, but this has not yet arrived by mail.

As a customer that is ahead in payments on the loan, I find it frightening that: the loan can be sold without my consent; by law, they are only required to give 2 weeks notice, and only by mail; the company the loan is sold to apparently doesn't need to maintain the same payment infrastructure, and doesn't even need to have infrastructure in place by the time the loan payment is due. We're speaking to a loan that is several hundred thousand dollars. How can this be legal? Even if it is legal, how can this be a reasonable business practice? It seems like there should be stronger consumer protection, requiring at least consent or verified notification to proceed. Shame!

On April 7, when I noticed this check had not cleared my bank, I called Ocwen, and the person I spoke with said they never received that check. I told him I was going to stop payment on the check and just pay the additional six bucks or so each month on my mortgage payment.

Yesterday I received a "Returned Payment Notice" from Ocwen for the $75.74, and a $25.00 fee was added to my mortgage payment for June. I have two issues with this: (1) Why did it take Ocwen 7 weeks to process that check, and (2) Ocwen automatically added the $25.00 to my mortgage payment. I sent them a letter today and informed them I will not pay this fee, and if they persist in trying to collect it or it reflects negatively on my credit rating, I will pursue every avenue against Ocwen.

We had to send two due to Western Union's policy of not sending more than $5,000.00 at one time. I phoned OCWEN and spoke to a service representative and gave them the two tracking numbers. They stated that they could not accept a partial payment, I stated it was not - it was the total payment, but due to Western Union policy we of not sending anything more than $5,000.00 at a time it had to be two payments. The representative took the numbers.

I phone OCWEN again on Monday and they stated as of yet they did not receive the payments. They will let me know when they receive them. My relations manager stated he would wait and see and inform the department that receives and applies to watch out for this tracking number that was missing. OCWEN stated that the $4,500 went to another one of their divisions that are no longer in service and that they could not send the money back to us.

I phoned and spoke with an agent, the agent stated that we could send in a payment but it would go to our interest and not our May payment as we are not due for May we are due for June. I stated that was not possible and we went over the payments and he assured me it was June. May 7, 2015 I received a statement from OCWEN dated April 30, 2015 statement date was for June 1, 2015. I phone OCWEN and spoke to two different people and they both assured me that it was due for June. OK they must know what they are speaking about. On May 18, 2015 I checked on line and it stated that we were late for May. I called and asked and went over the statement and they stated that payment was sent back for non sufficient funds? We never sent a check in, we sent a total of $11,818.18 Western Union.

They insisted that it was sent back for insufficient funds and now we owe for June. I stated that Western Union is cash and it could not be insufficient funds. On May 21, 2015 we received a statement from OCWEN stating that we now owed for May and June and that they included Foreclosure processing fee, Foreclosure preparedness cost and a total of 18 site inspections. No one came to our house on one day or any day 18 times to inspect our home. My husband phone and spoke with our relations manager and he stated that there were returned funds, my husband stated that everything was sent Western Union nothing could have been returned unless they are speaking about the $4,500.00 that was sitting in their department that is no longer there. But we sent in three payments and had three tracking numbers. Even taking out the second $4,500.00 they were still paid the $6,818.18 that they were owed.

On Tuesday May 26, 2015 I come home from work to find a certified letter from OCWEN stating that we owe for March, April and May. I called and got the automated service and it states that it received $4,500.00 and we are now due for March. I get a service representative on the line. I go over with her everything her. At first she stated there was a payment sent back but she retracted that and said nothing was sent back and that it shows we made the payments of $11,818.18 and that she is not sure why it states we owe for March, April and May. But yet may statement shows they sent a payment back for $4,500.00 and I need that tracking number so I can find out where this money is. They stated there is no tracking number.

I then went over the statement with her citing the site inspections and she said it is a third party and I stated someone is home 24 hours a day at my house and it never happened, then she stated it is drive by and I stated that never happened either because our neighbors would know if there was a strange car in our neighborhood and I don't - they came by 18 times in one day and why would they if my house is not in foreclosure do an inspection. Those fees were $15.00 a piece. I stated that this is very concerning that they could ruin people's lives. The representative agreed that this was wrong and that she was very apologetic but stated that she would launch an investigation into our account and that this could take anywhere from 15-20 days.

I stated what do I do about my June payment - she stated to send June's payment in I stated that if it shows that I am over 90 days it would allow a partial payment. The representative stated that since there is a notation about an investigation that a payment could be made. I stated that I was not paying May or any late fees or other fees due to this major screw up on their end. The representative stated she understands and that and agrees that everything was correct with what I stated and she agreed and to just send in June's payment. I am looking for Consumer Affairs to help us with OCWEN Mortgage they are bullies, thieves, and liars. They are numerous complaints about them and several lawsuits. Which we would like to be a part of.

I had set up automatic payments for my loan. Everything was fine for about two months. After the two months I decided to cancel automated payments because my payment amount kept changing and I didn't agree with the reasons for this. Then I logged in to make a one time payment using the exact information I was using for my automated payments. I didn't change one thing!!! My payment was returned because according to Ocwen I provided the wrong account number. This is not true because it is the same account number I used for my automatic payments! They are charging me $29.44 and $30 for these "returned checks." It is strange how when I was doing automated payments everything was fine and then I cancelled and tried to make a One Time Payment and I get this issue.

This happened to me twice. They gave me the account number they are using and half of the numbers are my account number and the other half are my routing number. I think is a technical issue on their part but they are not even willing to check on this. For their unwillingness to fix this I have thrown away $120. Imagine how much money they will make if they don't fix this! Has anyone gone through anything similar? I agree with other comments that say that there is no way to check on documents through their website. I tried to go back to that Payments to find the mistake on their part and I can't. They don't even send a confirmation for the transaction. I don't trust this company. I don't feel they are here to help me, they are here to take advantage of me every way they can.

I have also sent two applications to Ocwen only to get the exact same treatment. They just keep you going around in circles until you give up. This is the methodology and it works well for them all the while homeowners who desperately need some help which the banks have already received lose their homes. Does anyone have an attorney they have used with success to get a loan modification? Or is it possible to get a class action suite going?

I received my next invoice and it was $208 more per month. I went to the hassle of moving my homeowners insurance and lowered the premium about $400 annually. It has taken me and my insurance agent numerous call/ faxes and emails to get my insurance coverage completed with Ocwen. I spent 47 minutes and 38 seconds on hold today with someone from India that I could not understand nor could he understand me. I've now been told that I will receive a new escrow analysis in 3-5 business days but when I asked for a date she told me 9 days out. I shared my frustration with her and told her if it was not corrected by that 9th day which is 2 days before my next payment is due I will be filing a claim with BBB and I will go as far as refinancing to get away from this company. I'm starting to think that OCWEN is nothing more than a Ponzi scheme (a swindle in which a quick return, made up of money from new investors on an initial investment, lures the victim into much bigger risks.) set up by large banks to transfer their loans without permission of the mortgagee to a group of so-called mortgage investment individuals who are supposed to help you qualify for a number of loan modifications.

The ignorance of every one of the employees at Ocwen goes beyond stupid. It is now two months short of two years that I've tried over and over to modify my house loan. I was retired without benefits, i.e., retirement compensation from a family-run business after 30 years of employment, after the death of the owner, operated -- CEO, CFO -- of a very successful company. Since my income has gone from 6 figures to a small social security income I would think I would qualify for at least one loan modification, particularly because my home is under water. The incompetency of the mortgage loan officers, i.e., losing paperwork 4 and 5 times because they can't find it on their desk or in their computers, is beyond the word "irresponsible."

After working with the same loan officer for 18 months he never seems to remember who I am during our monthly phone conversations. I'm trying to lower my payments, not increase them. Every single offer I've received have increased the payment, now standing by $50 to $100 dollars a month, and Ocwen will not write the modification unless I agree to 10 more years on my loan, making it 40 years instead of 30 years. As of today, since I've not agreed to their new terms, they have turned me over to an attorney to start foreclosure on my home.

We were in a very desperate situation trying to get our loan modified after our payments doubled. The payment was no longer affordable, and dealing with this company was so difficult we considered walking away more than once. In reading these reviews, I hear so many issues I dealt with myself. It sickens me to read about anyone losing a home to this company, so I am writing with what little advice I can offer in the hopes that it will help someone. You *can* get this company to work with you. We were successful in getting a modification, but it took MONTHS of effort, countless hours on the phone, and many additional "squeaky wheel" steps. I also had to send in the modification application multiple times, and each time it resulted in a hard pull to my credit.

First, write down everything your "relationship manager" says, including all of their employee information. The person initially assigned to me was completely ineffective and made a mistake that cost us about 45 days. I submitted a detailed complaint through the customer service email on the website and was assigned another relationship manager based in the States. For the first time ever, I was given email contact information for this person and was able to make progress on my application.

If you haven't already, submit complaints (with dates, numbers, etc) to the Better Business Bureau, your state's attorney general's office, and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. None of these agencies will require Ocwen to do anything, but Ocwen will be required to respond. I used these responses to highlight errors and mishandling, and followed up with everyone again. They were already on my attny general's office radar, and I honestly think that should be the case for all 50 states and perhaps they will finally be sued out of business. My attny gen's office called me regularly to check in until my issues were resolved.

I can't say with 100% certainty that there is a connection, but after I made all of the complaints above I was offered a very favorable "in house" modification after being turned down twice. The paperwork actually said it was being offered because we didn't "qualify" for anything else. Like most of what Ocwen does, this doesn't make much sense. But, as long as the end result is a payment we can make, I'm not going to question it. With our modification we have not missed a payment and we look forward to leaving this mess of a company as soon as the credit issues we incurred while trying to work with them are resolved.

When I was laid off just over a month ago, my wife was nice enough to make our mortgage payment for me. We called Ocwen and talked to some heavy-accented gentlemen (sounded Korean or Vietnamese) and the payment was processed through my wife's checking account (or so we thought.) And he gave us a confirmation number and we went about our day. Seven days later I receive a call from Ocwen saying that the payment made on April 23 did not go through, "because the account could not be located" so we tried my wife's account again. Again the payment was processed and we received a confirmation number.

Five (5) days later I received another phone call from Ocwen stating that the payment submitted did not go through due to "non-sufficient funds." I checked with my wife and sure enough there was more than enough to cover the cost of the mortgage in her account and no pending transactions. So being that I started my new job two weeks ago I went ahead and set up a payment from my checking account so that April's payment would be made. However, since they were kind enough to wait so long to contact me about the payment not going through it went past 30 days and my really good credit score is now going to receive a ding.

I called (4) different times yesterday trying to clear the issue and let them know that it was an error on their part and that my credit score should not suffer due to their incompetence. All four calls were with different (broken english speaking at best) reps. All four gave me a different story but seemed to be talking in the same circle. Avoid Ocwen mortgage solutions like the plague. If your mortgage is sold to them like ours was, refinance with a different mortgage company immediately! They do not care about you or your credit. They will raise your escrow ridiculously for no reason other than "escrow analysis showed insufficient funds" and they say they are paying your insurance but I read some horror stories that say otherwise. This is absolutely ridiculous to have to go through and I am hoping to be out of this horrible situation with Ocwen soon. I also hope Ocwen gets sued for ruining people's finances and credit.

First, when we re-financed our first mortgage on the property, it took them over 6 weeks to get the proper paperwork to the lender so we could close. Good thing we were not in a hurry! Our home is an 80 acre farm. In October of 2013, we sold half of the acreage. OCWEN was sent documentation from our title company requesting a payoff amount and loan closure. They did not close the loan. In January of 2015, we sold the remainder of the farm. We found that the OCWEN loan was still open. Again, the Title company sent OCWEN paperwork stating that the property was sold - please close the loan.

Again, OCWEN ignored the request. After receiving yet another statement from them showing a zero balance, I contacted OCWEN to have them close the account. They stated that the only way they could close the account was if my wife and I signed letters and had them notarized stating we were requesting closure of the loan. I informed them that they had received that documentation from the title companies. I also informed them that I did not own the property any longer so basically, they had an unsecured loan to me - was that what they wanted? I have never seen such a poorly run company. They state right up front that they are a debt collection company. If that is so, why are they in the loan service business. My debt has been closed - close the damn account!

We contacted the county and they confirmed that indeed they had received the Satisfaction request and processed it the same day back to OCWEN. OCWEN is required to process the Satisfaction and return it us immediately, but alas, it's now been 6 weeks since payment and still no receipt of the Satisfaction. Called OCWEN and they stated that it can take up to 6 months depending on the County. I told them that our County processed the Satisfaction the same day it was received and sent it back to OCWEN. Why?? Why does it take OCWEN weeks to process standard legal paperwork on a mortgage Satisfaction... Completely irresponsible company!!

I originally was with INDYMAC when they sold my mortgage to Ocwen. I thought to myself, "Finally I will be taken care of"! Well I was taken care alright! I had a fixed 4.375 loan, and last year Ocwen jumped my rate to 4.875 and just about took my house from me. Well as a Veteran I was able to re-fi under the VA program, get a MUCH lower rate with a very stable Mortgage Company. It doesn't end there. On the 4th of this month, after Ocwen was paid in full, they decided to continue taking mortgage payments out of my checking.

So now I am in trouble with my NEW mortgage company for NOT having funds in my account. When I talked with Ocwen, they could care less. They did agree that they should not have taken to money, but it will be a week or more before they will refund to my account. I told them it didn't take you over a week to take the money, so why does it take over a week to refund it? My last question to them, "Who is going to pay the overdraft fees and get me back in good graces with my new mortgage company," "DEAD SILENCE"! Mortgage seekers beware, IndyMac and Ocwen ARE NOT YOUR FRIENDS!

I purchased a villa with PHH in June 2014. When the real estate tax bill came due in December 2014, they paid $577.00 of the $1711 bill. They refused to pay the remainder. I contacted them in Feb 2015 after I paid $1200 + out of my pocket. They refused to respond to my inquiries. I contacted the President's office directly and did receive a reply. They promised me a refund for the excess amount in the escrow (enough for almost three tax bills) and that my escrow amount would be lowered significantly, and thus my payment amount would be lowered.

I did receive a refund check, significantly lower than promised. There was no adjustment of any kind in the escrow payment. By next month they will have enough money even after sending the refund to pay both the 2015 and the 2016 taxes. I have received no response. The title company/loan officer for PHH has told me that next April 2015. They will evaluate the escrow amount and will make any necessary adjustments but evidently feel that there is any need to lower the collected amount now.

By their estimate, they will be able to pay even if my real estate taxes double in Dec. They will be able to pay them and will have $2000 left over. I would not recommend that anyone do business with them. They have not responded to any of my emails, phone calls, etc. I have contacted the NJ Attorney General and filed complaints against them with three other agencies I have found via Internet searches but so far have not received any help. I guess I am going to have to contact a lawyer.

When G.M.A.C. filed for bankruptcy Ocwen started to service my loan prior to the dissolution of the company. At that point my mortgage was reporting under G.M.A.C. and also with Ocwen showing that my mortgage debt was double on my credit report with both accounts showing open. When this occurred they wiped out all of my credit history from the inception of the loan. I also had a G.M.A.C. auto loan that was paid in full that when I requested that they show the closed account on my mortgage somehow the auto loan was wiped off my credit report. So all my great payment history on my mortgage was wiped clean with also a paid off auto loan was wiped clean from my credit report.

When contacting Ocwen mortgage numerous times about how they don't report my mortgage payments on any of my credit bureaus, you go through a maze of excuses. This first occurred April of 2014 and still to this date it hasn't been reported now for an entire year as I keep paying and on time. Ocwen by them not doing so has resulted in a 100 point drop on my FICO score - from the high 850 to now 750. I know that if I plan to borrow I'm not a risk and I qualify for the best rates but it's not the point. I am going to file a lawsuit with the Fair Credit reporting act. Ocwen we all know you are a debt collector. I'm not a risk and you're not dealing with someone that doesn't pay their bills. I'm going to sue you. And after that regardless I am going to go back to Wells Fargo that services their loans so I never have to deal with you ever again.

Their customer service people treat me like I am a complete idiot, when I have had numerous mortgages throughout my life. They are AWFUL. I received a statement on April 25, 2015 saying that as of May 1, 2015 my mortgage payment would now be 2449.00 from 2054.00. The letter was dated April 16, 2015. The explanation said "explanation will be in a separate letter". I called Ocwen, and the explanation was that I was negative $2800 in escrow. How did that even happen? I received a loan modification June 2014, my payments were to be $17.00 plus $288.00 in escrow which was adjustable. The line above that breakdown specifies that the principal and interest does not include hazard insurance or property taxes. So I assumed PMI was either not included at all or it was part of the principal. I'm again not a lawyer. I confirmed the rate wasn't adjustable and was aware of escrow changes around $40 a month, never $400. I paid on time and continue to pay on time.

First phone call, they said my homeowners insurance went up $300 per year. No, it's been exactly the same. Then they said my property taxes went up, yes by $7. Now they are saying that I was positive money last analysis and that's why my escrow analysis was lower than it is now. So they are charging me the original $288 and added $400 to the payment. According to them PMI is also included in the escrow. How could they have possibly figured out the escrow to be $288 and my PMI alone was 248, homeowners 1905 annually and property taxes $32?? Annually. Does PMI carry over automatically when a loan is modified? They also extended the time on my loan. By an additional 10 years which according to them was to pay off all my past due.

I'm not great with documents, I looked at the new modification loan documents and PMI is not mentioned. I just don't see how this company can get away with robbing people. I called them on Thursday and they said the new escrow analysis was performed and it was correct. On the breakdown I see 2 payments on the same date 9/29/14 for the same amount for PMI, then again I see 2 payments for PMI for April. One is April 1 2015, the other for April 29, 2015. I can't get anywhere when I call them. Everything is a run around, nothing is fact. At one point I said I was recording her because this couldn't be legal and she said "this call will be disconnected" and she hung up. Is there something I can do? I'm reading all of the complaints but what can we all do? This can't possibly be legal! Please someone help. I can't afford a lawyer, I just feel so helpless at this point.

Just made the 6th call to Ocwen (who purchased my mortgage). Last month they begin charging me an extra $600 a month. When I contacted them to find out why they just kept telling me that it was not a problem and they would send me a statement to show why. I received the statement. It shows clearly the reason for this that reason being they paid my neighbors property taxes, on top of mine, and are now charging me the extra money to pay for that $6000 a year difference. I have had several mortgage companies since purchasing my house but this is hands-down the most inept company I've ever dealt with. The fact that their customer Service center is in India definitely does not help as they do not understand culturally what is acceptable to say and of course communication is difficult. Everyone they told me it was "not a problem". It frustrates me to no end. Clearly, it is a problem for me or else I wouldn't be calling so many times.

So a week later, I'm being told that they should resolve it within 3 to 5 business days. But of course they continue to take out $150 extra a week out of my account. I cannot fathom why they would have paid my neighbor's property taxes in the first place, and do not understand why a week into my realizing it, they have not addressed the issue. Also, they said they would have a supervisor call me back. The first time they called my husband (who knows nothing about this). This time they said it would be in 24 hours and of course it was not (I guess I am supposed to be grateful they called back at all).

I started out with a loan from an internet ad home123 dot com or something like that. It's been 12 years ago now so I don't remember the exact website. It advertised mortgage loans etc at 3 and 1/2 percent interest rates when I had a small remodeling loan for around 7 percent or so. I don't remember for sure that either. Anyhow after signing up thru this one size fits all type loan that combined all my credit cards and outstanding loans into one mortgage that went through a bank of Cincinnati or so, the paper work worded it also. The contract gave me a 15 day grace period. That was great since I could pay the first Friday of each month without being late on payments from my paycheck. The monthly payment was only $320.00 per month for 30 years.

This was my growing up home. My deceased father and mother's home. Not just a home I bought on the side of the road. It was in good shape before I decided to add a Master Bedroom and completely remodel everything (the could have, would have, should have troubles my mind to this day). After having the loan for two months it was sold to Ocwen which immediately charged me a late fee because the payment wasn't paid on the first day of the month. After going through a lot of "Thank you come again" speaking people that worked Ocwen's call center I finally worked that problem out.

Things went well until 5 or 6 years later when an auto draft I had set up with another predecessor (predator) bank called WoodForest which has its own reputation, probably owned by the same interest group(s) supposedly reported a shortage of funds for the payment according to Ocwen. I drove long haul over the road as a truck driver and my wife kept the check book. According to her records the money was there, but that does not count either. Ocwen did not bother to call me and after being on the road for several weeks came home to find a letter showing two payments behind after she had manually wrote a check for me from another account I had in TN that I also had money in.

To make a long story a little shorter, Ocwen sent the check back uncashed with a letter reading this was not enough to cover the late charges which were many including reassessment fees and several other fees and after calling them and going through their paperwork process. Whatever they called it was put off 6 months with other tactics they use until I got a letter reading my family home was already in foreclosure.

This is how I'm sure many investment groups are still working today with all the other names and paperwork craftiness they are using to steal peoples homes. It's all over the t.v. with commercials for home mortgage this and that using all kinds of names with what I've read in other places on the web are just professional con artists.

I told them I have not received any statements with respect to my mortgage payments and that I want these statements sent to the house address because my credit rating on Credit Karma states I owe them nothing. Then I report it to you people, and the Texas land Commission... And just get the run around. There are more complaints about this company on your site. Someone needs to do something about this company out of India who is screwing with the American people. I do not have the money to contact a lawyer to fight them. However I would be willing to have one call me.

Updated on 4/30/2015: I went back to the Ocwen website to see if anything was mentioned with regard to my account information and statements I had requested. They had blocked me from getting into the account to view anything. Previously, I had set up everything on their website from my tablet. When I go to their site it states, a big X and says you are trying to view this from an insecure connection. Suffice to say, I set it up from this connection and now I cannot view anything from it. I did receive a statement this month, again they are charging me for Mortgage insurance which I already paid with GMAC, before they transferred all their mortgages over to Ocwen. Then it states a large amount in my escrow.... fine with me, but I know that the amount in escrow should equal $670 not $2,007.73.

The taxes and Home insurance were paid out Dec./Jan. and they start the escrow in Jan. again at $219.86/month therefore, I am not sure what fraudulent act they are committing with mortgages. Possibly, their way of hiding moneys through accounts. They are a crooked bunch of thieves, stealing moneys from many of the American people. Their companies addresses are based out of West Palm Beach Florida and Carol Stream IL.....both are P.O. Boxes. When you speak to someone from their company, if you can understand the thick accent, and you ask them who/where they are speaking from, they will tell you India. That tells the complete story as to why all of the people on here filing complaints, as I am, that is why this company Ocwen, hangs up when you start asking questions or if you try to get a payout figure to do a refinance to get rid of them.

We are all stuck with this company and there is no way out. There is no one who will put one foot over the other to help us and when they do, they run off like scored dogs with their tails between their legs. I also obtained my Mortgage through GMAC in 2011 only to have OCWEN buy them out a few years back. In that period of time my mortgage fluctuated a little bit both up and down due to the small fluctuations in my taxes. From Feb 2014 to January 2015 my payment was $1,416.51. In the fall of 2014 my house was assessed by my town and I was informed that my taxes were actually going down about $180 per year. OCWEN informed me that my payment would be adjusted down to $1,389.81 starting in Feb 2015. That all made sense since my taxes went down.

In April 2015 OCWEN then informed me that my ESCROW was $1,533.76 short and that my May 2015 payment onward would be adjusted to $1,497.62 because they claim my ESCROW was short of funds. This is impossible for my ESCROW to be this short so here are the next steps I have taken to resolve this with them.

First, when I called them I ask for the person's ID number so when I call them again, if I have to, I can call the same person. Second and more important, I requested for that person to e-mail me my 2014 and 2013 ESCROW Annual Account Disclosure Statements. By law they have to do this. They can send this to you by e-mail in a PDF which should only take a day, but they told me 3 to 5 business days. ;-) So rather than confront them with arguments on a phone that go no-where, I will confront them with documents via by e-mails that will show them that they are wrong. If I am $1,533,76 short as of now on my ESCROW then my last 2 ESCROW statements should have also shown a significant shortage of funds which they did not.

I am a recently separated U.S. Army Veteran who had his home loan taken over by OCWEN from GMAC. I recommend to anyone who gets stuck with this company immediately run to refinance the loan. My home was used as a rental when military orders took me out of the state until my family and I returned once I was separated. Due to the fact that it was a rental, the insurance was lower, and when we returned to the home as our primary residence, the insurance went back up as required by law.

OCWEN did an Escrow analysis to accommodate the increase in the insurance, which is a good thing to prevent a future large raise in the monthly escrow payment. What they failed to do was apply the over $900.00 that was just paid only 2 months prior when the insurance as a rental was paid before we moved home. Thus, my payment went up DRASTICALLY to cover the "new" insurance that was already in place through USAA, who rock by the way. I have called over a dozen times and always get a different person. Acceptable, could be a huge call center, but when I try and try to get through to the person who assisted me any of the previous times, using their ID # provided when they answer, I get told that employee # is not in the system and does not exist.

After the escrow analysis, I get a letter in the mail explaining the increase, which is when I discover they missed the fact that over $900.00 has already been paid, and that the analysis should only increase the payment in the amount of the balance due, not the entire policy. They want me to send them a check for nearly $2,000.00 to go into my escrow if I want my payment to stay the same as it has been in the past. I am a disabled Vet, I do not have an extra 2k lying around. So, for the past three months, when I send in the monthly payment, I add $120.00 and change and annotate on the pay stub that it is to go to "Additional Escrow". It never does. It goes to "Additional Principal".

I have called every month asking why, and only get told they must have missed it. Last time, I included a signed, notarized letter pointing out the request for the additional funds to go to "Additional Escrow", and again, it did not. I called again, spoke to yet another person, who stated she would put in a request to have the $$ reversed out of a Principal and back to Escrow. We shall see. Not holding my breath. It is, in my opinion, their way of ensuring they will be able to continue raising your monthly payment due to "Insufficient Escrow Funds". Congress, where are you when we need you? Are we not a government of the people, by the people, for the people? Can we not get assistance from those who are sworn to serve their country in its government? This company needs to be looked into, and possibly shut down.

Every year Ocwen sends me a form with the amount of the the escrow shortage. Every year I send their form back with a check for the shortage amount and every year they apply the funds towards principal instead of escrow. I have my payments automatically set and it takes a couple of billing cycles to get them to change the amount. Since the notice of escrow shortage is so short it is not possible to change the automatic payments in time for the following billing cycle. By not applying the amount of payment towards the escrow shortage my payment is short and in turn generates a late fee for them. This is by far THE WORST company I have ever dealt with. I can not understand why they are allowed to function.

My mortgage loan was sold by Indy Max to Ocwen about a year ago. Last August I was approved for a load modification that lowered my payments by about $140/month. I made the three month trial period payments on time in August thru October. I was told that after the trial period they would send me the package for the modification to be finalized and approved. Over the next six months I had not seen the package and got nowhere with my sales rep handling my account on why it wasn't sent or even when I might get it.

Today, I spoke with my rep and she advised that yesterday they realized they had made an "error" with the approved amount on my modification, claiming it would not be enough to pay off the loan, and had to resubmit it. As a result, instead of paying $140 less per month I am now paying only $20 less per month!! I am beyond livid!! Something in the back of my mind kept telling me these past few months something was not right. And when I asked to speak with one of their analysts who supposedly approved the original modification, I was told they do not speak to anyone on the phones. Now that I see that there are many others out there who have issues with Ocwen, I am more concerned. I am hoping I can find another lender who will take on my mortgage. I just do not feel secure with Ocwen. I am very worried here!!

In April, I received notice that my mortgage payment was increasing significantly. The ostensible reason was so that Ocwen could created a "cushion" for my escrow account. This "cushion" amounts to $525.24 per year. Ocwen gets to use this money free of interest. Now, multiply this by the number of clients that are billed for their escrow "cushions."

In past years, I have been billed by mortgage companies for escrow shortfalls of very insignificant amounts. Paying this was no problem. Afterall, a shortfall is a shortfall. My obligation. No problem. This "cushion" is a significant amount. It is not warranted by either an increase in my tax rate or an increase in my home insurance rate. In 2016, will Ocwen institute another escrow "cushion" on top of the one it has just sprung on their clients? This is unethical.

From Chelsey Dulaney of the Wall Street Journal, I read that Ocwen has a reported a fourth quarter loss of $598.4 million. Poor them. Poor me. I am not obligated to bail out Ocwen. The culture of corporate greed got them into a mess and they are using their mortgage clients to bail them out. I, for one, will not sit quietly and mail them bailout checks every month.

I first got an escrow analysis letter where my escrow would need to go up (understandably). Knowing the reputation of this company, I read every word and found an interesting "error" that stated that the additional amount that I pay every month (only for principal) would be applied to escrow. Eh, no way in Hades! I called immediately and complained and asked for a new letter to be sent to me with the correction.

Next, I noticed that the balance on the mortgage that Ocwen acquired from GMAC suddenly went up about $2000 from one month to the next. I logged onto the website and found an additional statement that I was not sent indicating that the previous four months of additional principal payments were RETROACTIVELY reapplied to escrow.

In the automated payment menu page (at the bottom) it does state "Please note that if you choose to have extra funds withdrawn, they will be applied to any outstanding fees and/or charges prior to being applied to principal." Well there were no outstanding fees - ever. But they did a poor job in reviewing escrow and it went negative for a month.

Glad I have a record of my calls to Ocwen regarding the strange letter. I have downloaded all my statements (I suggest everyone save ALL statements). I find it amazing this business is allowed to continue operating. I have never had to deal with junk like this in the past. Even my town's tax collector commented on their behavior when it wasn't clear they paid my taxes one quarter.

I see there are a few others who have had this same issue. I make extra payments every month to pay down the principal on our mortgage. Since January, Ocwen started applying the extra to future payments (including interest) rather than paying down the principal. So, in essence, collecting money they are not owed. We'll have this paid off in 3 years, but I totally don't trust Ocwen any longer. We'll probably refinance with a local credit union. Yes, it will cost a couple more thousand due to a slightly higher interest rate over the next three years (but no closing costs). But we'll probably take our money elsewhere.

This is the most important purchase most people make in their lifetime. Don't trust it to an untrustworthy company. I feel bad for people who are not as financially savvy or have the resources to take the loan somewhere else. Ocwen is most likely ripping them off. I hope the consumer protection agency can do something.

At no time was I offered a reaffirmation nor told that it could take between 3 & 7 years to get a new mortgage. BAC sold my note to Ocwen Loan Servicing who stopped sending monthly statements. This went on for around 6 months then they started sending statements with a women's name on them who I had never heard of nor whose name is nowhere on my loan papers. No matter how many times I called they told me that I had no loan with them and would not change the name on the account. I had the AG of Michigan and the lawyer send them letters but with the same results, I had no loan with Ocwen.

In Sept of 2014 I received notice in the women's name stating that there was an excess in my escrow account (her) and would receive a check within two weeks. I called and talked to a CSR who said he seen the mistake and would change it two weeks later. I receive notice my escrow was in arrears and my payment would increase to cover it, this again was in the lady's name. When I called to ask for a reason I was told I had no account so they could not talk to me about it.

I had not missed a payment on my loan so I told them as I had no account with them I would no longer be sending them any monies. I returned all letters to unopened then on the first of March 2015 everything changed, I do have an account with them and I owe from Oct 2014 through March 2015 in order to keep my home of which I didn't do as I no longer trust them, so they have started foreclosure proceedings on me. What Ocwen did on 02/25/2015 is unforgivable to myself and my family. I have left the property in 100% perfect condition on 02/28/2015. I had a closing date for sale of 02/27/2015 to which Ocwen could have been relieved of the principal debt of $150,000, which was the number told to me by at least 10 different ocwen employees via telephone calls to Ocwen. I asked each time and was told all calls are recorded for training purposes. I have filed for deed in lieu and have also filed paperwork with another entity. What Ocwen did to stop this sale after being informed of the medical reason and plan to sell this home was despicable and by far the worst business decision I can ever imagine anyone doing irregardless of investors and definite lack of common sense.

I had kept in touch with Ocwen on a constant step by step basis and sold the home. Therefore relieving you of anything other than getting paid. Not only were the new owners lives disrupted but also is ours. The lawyers, the real-estate agents and neighbors. I have left the property. I suggest you get over there and get the utilities on because of the harm that will ensue due to the buffalo, NY weather. I told my relationship mgr in September 2014 of my situation and decided to put a new roof on the home before sale. I spent every penny I had to do so. I put a new hot water tank, a new sump pump, new kitchen floor tiles, refinished all the hardwood floors, new doors, new Anderson front weather door, new pool equipment.

I spent well over $20,000 and I get screwed when I was 100% open with you people. You now own that home, I am also going to seek damages as I am now homeless due to you being unwilling to negotiate 2 days before the closing to make that sale go through. I have never begged for anything harder in my life other for my wife's life with God... I am more than furious with this. I lived in that home for 21 years, I broke my back, became disabled and still held it together. When my wife became ILL, we made a decision to move on... you were informed of my decision!!!

This is not and was not fair. I am going to go further with this, because when people seek help with loan mitigation and re-mortgage info all you are doing is pulling an obvious scam... save your home, sign here... I appreciated the avenue to do so... But now, I should have walked away in 2013 when I broke my back and had 2 - 9 inch rods installed... I never once cried about it to you, I simply moved forward with what was at hand. Then we get hit with a 2nd catastrophe in a ridiculous amount of time... you - ocwen, have no heart, no soul and not even an iota of decency!

The utilities will be off come 0/03/ 2015... for sure the basement will fill with water due to the 6 feet of snow in the yard. The $23,000 from a loan mitigation that was deferred and that I got a 1099-C from 09/23/2013 which stated that $38,000 was forgiven was a hoax and hid the fact that I would still owe anything. For someone at ocwen to tell me that I would have had to live in the home until 7/15/2015 is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. For sure the amount to go forward with that home will far exceed the amount you killed the sale for... Probably a simple write-off. For you to kill the impending contractual sale and be free was infuriating.

We had our whole lives packed in a truck, the people that bought the house had their truck in the driveway ready to move in!!!! I do not want to hear from ocwen. If you want the deed and survey, they are at the real estate attorney to which you sent the closing paperwork. And people wonder why this country is deflating? Here you go. Someone gets cancer, is dying, you make a decision to pay for their medication and are commended by a manager at ocwen or your dedication and for informing them. Then they turn around and steal your home.

I sold the home within one month of discussions with them, get a contract of sale, avoid a short sale, a foreclosure and end up destroyed. Thank you ocwen! I am not done with this! I am going to the US senate with this, I am going to everyone who will listen. I will tell you something... no matter how good a person you are, never be honest with ocwen, they are not listening!!! This is a real scumbag company... and they screwed the wrong guy, you know why? I have nothing else to lose!

I am unbelievably pissed and now after reading all the complaints against OCWEN, I have lost a little hope that things will go smoothly. I'm down for getting a lawyer and filing class action. Where do I sign? First, I thought Ocwen had already taken over GMAC more than a year ago because my statements started coming as Ocwen long before October so there was no communication or notification that I received that this transition was being completed in October. Not that that is important but it marks the time that all hell broke loose.

I was unaware that the transition had not been completed until payments were being taken from my bank account in the amount of approximately $519.00 beginning in March 2015. The first was taken 03/02/2015, the second 03/16/2015 and the third 03/30/2015. As you can see, I was set up for auto-debit for a bi-weekly payment. These are the dates that the money shown in my account was debited. I called after the first debit was taken and asked why my account had gone up $100.00 a month. I was told that my escrow account was seriously under-funded. I reviewed all of my statements from September 2014 to current and discovered that $1267 was paid out for my home owners insurance in November 2014.

My January 2015 statement showed that another $1483 was paid out for my home owners insurance AGAIN! I called again and spoke with another employee who told me that he did see that a disbursement was made in error in November, that the payment was sent to the wrong address. He told me that it would be credited back to my escrow account and all would be well and work itself out. When the second payment came out, I called (march 22nd) for a status and was again met with an employee telling me about my escrow being under-funded and blah blah blah. He told me that he would ask for another escrow analysis and that I should call back.

In the meantime, I asked him to stop the auto-debit until this mess was straightened out. He said he would take care of it. Yesterday upon checking my bank account, I saw that ANOTHER $519 was taken out after I was told that auto-debit would be cancelled within 48 hours of my phone call. (by my calculation, that is $100 extra erroneously taken in addition to $519 that wasn't supposed to be taken at all for a total of $619 but I'm not done.)

I called on my lunch break yesterday (03-30-2015) and my fault, I did not write down any employee ID numbers. The employee I spoke with approx 1 pm yesterday told me that he didn't see that there was a request made to cancel my debit. Additionally, he told me that my house payment would be going up AGAIN in June another $40 or $49 a month. I asked him how it was possible that my house payment would be going from $940 to $1080 being a difference of $140. How is that reasonable or possible. His answer to me was that when my account was bought in October, I started a new escrow account and that Ocwen requires a buffer. He then told me that as of March 12-13 that my escrow balance was $-92 but currently (as of yesterday) $+200 (approx).

How can Ocwen want to collect additionally $140 a month for a buffer? He told me that as 03-24-2015 analysis, that I still had a negative balance in escrow. I never received a copy of that analysis. He also offered to transfer me somewhere to someone that would help me with having the $519 credited back to my bank account but it would take 24 or 28 days (I don't remember which). I told him I'd rather not create any more confusion to an already confusing situation. I had to terminate that call and return to work.

I called again after work (approx 3:45) speaking with of course, another person. He read over my account and I told him that I had spoken with someone earlier in the day and wasn't sure what was accomplished at that time and that I wanted to make sure that the debit program would be terminated. He told me that I had the wrong department. WHAT?! I asked him why didn't the guy earlier that day or the guy last week give me a different number. I asked to speak to a supervisor 3 times! He put me on hold for about 3 minutes when he got back on the line and told me that he could handle my problem quicker than waiting for a supervisor.

He said he would ask for yet another escrow analysis, after he told me that my account had a deficit of over $800 and would transfer me to the department that would take care of my debited payments. I assume he requested another analysis and transferred me to AN 800 number that I have written at home. Upon being transferred, that employee asked me for the phone # associated with my account, I gave him 3 different phone numbers to which he said "ma'am, you don't have an account with us." Really? He asked who my mortgage group was, I told him Ocwen to which he replied, "they are always sending us wrong calls, we don't handle their account, they do, you will need to call them." WHAT?!

I called back a 3rd time. Went through the whole spiel with escrow only this time, this employee told me that he did see where the request was made to stop auto-debit, on March 22nd! So the 2 people before were looking at what? I'm really angry by this point after learning that my house payment was going up again when it shouldn't have gone up in the first place, that my request was never sent, I had the wrong department and then transferred to the wrong department to call back and find out that the request was made, just not followed up on. A $519 mistake. At least this employee knew that the problems I had were beyond his knowledge and transferred me to the "escalation team".

I am beyond words! There has to be someone we can talk to about this horrible company taking advantage of people. Imagine being 80 years old and dealing with this nonsense. I'm sure there are so many more people who don't even realize they are being screwed. I think we should take this to our local medias and start a nationwide ** storm!

I am a US Veteran and have dealt with Ocwen on a Loan for my home. I have recently paid them in full and now they owe me a refund check for my Escrow account. I was told the check will be refunded to me and I should have it within 5-7 days. This was told to me on the 17th of March. When the 24th of March came around I called them due to the fact I didn't get my check yet. I called the they told me to give it another day and it should be there. When I found out it didn't show up again I Called back again then talked to a supervisor named **. He told me to give it another day and if I don't get it to call him back and he will look into it or try to get me a tracking number which was never given to me so I could have tracked that check.

After the next day passed again no check was available to me and being a concern customer with this check being $2,85900 made me want to know what happened to the check. Well I was then offered to put a stop payment on the check and do a wire transfer to my account. Hearing that I agreed to the wire transfer since it doesn't take that long to direct deposit money in an account. Well was I wrong on believing that.

It is the 28th of March and I checked my bank account and nothing was pending so I called Ocwen back again. I requested to talk to the supervisor and instead received a female that told me they have not updated their system and can't update till sometime Monday the 30th. And then she told me there is no telling how long it would take before they can transfer my money into my account. So this is why I am warning anyone especially US Vets to don't go with Ocwen to refinance or anything. It is hell getting money that is owed back to the customer. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.

A year later, we received a letter to pay 35,000 to a company we never heard of. When we tried to sort it out, we got nowhere because you're calling India and their mastery of the English language is limited. They attempted to settle with us as long as we paid additional fees. Once we hired an attorney to help us figure out what went wrong, OCWEN foreclosed on our house!! What this company does to people is a CRIME. I don't know how our government and judicial system allows them to get away with it. It has been a nightmare. Stay away from this company. My husband was informed recently that his position was being eliminated. He has worked for the company for 39 years. Knowing we would not be able to continue making our mortgage payment, I contacted Ocwen the day we found out. I was told we had two choices, short sale or deed in lieu. This is when the nightmare started. We opted for a short sale, believing that this would save us and Ocwen money in the long run. We listed our home and had an offer within two weeks. Because we were underwater on the mortgage, we thought it was a very fair offer.

After sending and re-sending paperwork (a total of 3 times), Ocwen said we would have an answer in 30 days. Two days later we were denied. When I called to find out why, I was told because we had sufficient money coming in to make payments. I told them his paychecks would be stopping and we would basically living on social security. They refused to listen. The case managers are a joke. They are in India and barely have a grasp of the English language. I finally told one that I'm an American and I want to speak with an American and was told they can't transfer me to anyone in the U.S. They also said because we are not delinquent on our payments we don't qualify. So guess what? Beginning this month they are not getting another dime. Seems you have to be delinquent to get any help. I know we will probably be foreclosed on but we have tried to reason with this company and have hit a brick wall.

I'm so disgusted by this sham of a company! I have written to the Ohio Attorney General and also to the Ocwen Ombudsman. Also emailed the President of Ocwen, Ron Faris. The BBB gave them an F rating. Good job Ocwen! I wish there was an F- rating.

They have place their own Lender Hazard Insurance or $1,700.00 on top of my Hazard Insurance of 632.36 that I have before they took over.

I sent a check to Ocwen to fill the shortage on my escrow account. They said they never received the check. I did a stop payment and sent another check. They said they never received that one either. Another stop payment issued. In the meantime, they increased my mortgage payment by one hundred dollars a month. $100 more a month due to their error. I then made an ACH payment instead of mailing and getting lost. They applied that payment to my principal and I cannot get them to transfer it to my escrow account. They also charged me $19.50 to make the ACH payment.

Now my escrow account is in the negative and my property taxes are due. I looked online and they are increasing my mortgage payment again May 1st by another $20.00 to cover the shortage. I call and call and their customer service is worthless. I am refinancing with another mortgage company just to get away from Ocwen. Due to their errors, I have to pay over $100 more a month. When Ocwen acquired our mortgage loan from the bankrupt GMAC, our lives went to hell. We were 10 years into a 30 year mortgage, of which we always maintained private homeowners insurance and paid taxes ourselves neither had ever lapsed or been late. When ocwen acquired the loan they made us escrow all of the above, taking our mortgage payment from $678/month to nearly $1300! When we called trying to resolve the issue, it was difficult to ever speak to someone who could even understand our complaint. Eventually, the best we could get was that it was mandatory through their company that insurance and taxes be escrowed and that our payment would only remain that for 1 year in order to pay the now negative escrow account and build an escrow. We paid the $1300 for one year, and our payment never decreased.

I spent days on the phone trying to get answers only to speak to computers and people that could barely speak English or understand my complaint. It was never explained on statements or verbally what exactly I was paying, despite paying the inflated payment for 1 year, the escrow account on my statement was always negative. The home was not comparable to a $1300 mortgage, as the loan balance was only $82,000. Attempted to refinance with a local lender, but because the of improper document filing by our lender, wrong property address, no official lien at our local court clerk’s office, banks were not willing to sort through the paper mess. Spoke with an attorney, more than once, but hit another wall with horrible documentation and living in a small town, our resources are limited.

Eventually left the house after Ocwen encouraged a deed in lieu. I offered Ocwen a cash settlement to pay the loan off out of pocket, of which they refused. So because of them, we lost our children's childhood home.

They do not see additional money applied for the past year. Now, I just received a letter from OCWEN stating I must have a $2000 escrow buffer before 01 April or my mortgage payment will go up $200 a month. Today is 20 March... What the heck is this? I contacted customer service to help guide my through the online process on how to make a principal only payment since it was not clear. Two months later I am looking at my history and realized that it processed it as another monthly payment allocating part of it to a full month's worth of interest! Since I paid the full month's interest with my next auto payment they basically pocketed an extra months interest for $370.

I called customer service again and they agreed it was their mistake and would reverse the $370 as interest and apply as principal. What bothers me is that the CSR made it sound like this has been something that's happened as the result of a newer system. If that's the case don't they have a responsibility to identify accounts that it happened to and self-correct versus waiting for a customer to complain.

As a result I do not trust them. If you are a OCWEN customer scrutinize your payments and how they are applied very closely! My lawyer talked me into going with his mortgage broker which I now regret as my mortgage got sold to these folks. Bricks and mortar banks or credit unions are the way to go. My HOA carries the insurance on my condo which includes not only the building but the floors, walls, carpets, etc. I had the HOA insurance underwriter fax and mail my policy to Ocwen. When I went online to verify if it was received weeks later, there was no updated info. I made phone calls to their insurance dept. which is located in India and all I got was the runaround and asked to re fax everything. I talked to one guy who said they had received it on one day. The next day I talked to another guy from India who said they never received it even though I have a fax confirmation.

Anyway, this is how they play games so they can buy expensive insurance and take money from your escrow account. Apparently, this is one of the fraudalent things that happened back in 2013 when they were charged with fraud by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau for violating laws at every stage of the mortgage process.

Too often trouble began as soon as a loan transferred to Ocwen, said CFPB Director Cordray on a conference call announcing the enforcement action. The complaint, filed in federal district court in D.C., alleges that Ocwen charged borrowers more than stipulated in the mortgage contract; forced homeowners to buy unnecessary insurance policies; charged borrowers unauthorized fees; lied in response to borrower complaints about excessive and unauthorized fees; lied about loan modification services when borrowers requested them; misplaced documents and ignored loan modification applications, causing homeowners to slip into foreclosure; illegally denied eligible borrowers a loan modification, then lied about the reasons why... It looks like they are still up to their old tricks again. It looks like another complaint needs to be filed.

Every payment clearly states principal only. This has happened repeatedly!!! This time I called and sent 2 emails to the ombudsman. Yet, my payment has still not been adjusted appropriately. We all know of their shady dealings. It is time to also file suit regarding their mismanagement of payments. I know I am not the only person that experiences corrupt manipulation of payments. We have 3 years left until our home loan is paid. Our previous mortgage holder sold out to Ocwen. After over 20 years the payment my husband made got lost in the mail. We received a call from Ocwen and my husband immediately rectified the situation, paid the bill and subsequently began Auto Bill pay, no harm no foul. But the outsourced calls will not stop, at least 2 a week! The ridiculous part is the operators don't even know why they're calling! After listening to their "This call may be recorded, yada, yada, yada," they say "Oh I see you are in good standing" Duh!

I was told that the calls were on an automated system and they don't know why?!?! This morning when I received the call, I just got one yesterday, I said I wanted to file a harassment complaint. I was placed on hold and was assured that the calls would stop, only after 20 calls about nothing! We'll see... If anyone has a free choice about financial institutions to deal with I say don't touch Ocwen with a 10 foot pole. They are simply nasty bill collectors out to make a buck and nothing else. We are now in the process of refinancing, and when I called Ocwen to send me a current statement I was informed that my account was transferred on March 1st, 2015 to another company and that my records were no longer available. After three calls, and about two hours, I finally got one of their lemmings to send a request to have my February statement emailed to me - "expect 3-5 business days for receipt." I receive at least 10 harassing phone calls per day and they have even called the school I work for (as a teacher I can't even receive outside calls from my classroom). I explained that over & over again. I recently had an unexpected serious medical diagnosis & am out on medical leave.

I applied for a hardship modification. Rather than review my paperwork & work with me they increased my interest rate! Recently, I spoke w/ an obnoxious rep. named Brandon who advised if I was not up to date soon, me, my disabled son & elderly mother would be out on the street. I am disheartened & disgusted - pls. if you can stay away from this Co. Additionally, anytime I was even 1 day late, they would send a man out to sit in front of my home at night. This caused great concern by my neighbors who took the license plate and had a police officer investigate. He was told they were making sure I still resided in the home (ridiculous after a day late!). This has caused me great embarrassment & now the neighborhood is fully aware of my situation.

It is now coming up on two years that I have been trying to get rid of my PMI on my mortgage with Ocwen. My last letter was sent to Ocwen on January 27, 2015 and to date March 1, 2015 I have not as much gotten an acknowledgement to my request for the information on cancelling my PMI with this horrible mortgage servicing company.

The law in California is quite clear and states that a homeowner may request a cancellation of their PMI using appreciation of their property value. However, when you call Ocwen the call is routed to India and the call center operator reads what he has on a computer screen that says that you may only cancel your PMI on your mortgage if you have improved you home's value through new construction or upgrades after your initial appraisal was done. They further go on to say that your PMI will fall off your loan in May of 2019 and there is nothing that can be done before then. Well friends that is against the Laws of California.

An additional issue I have with Ocwen is in 2013 they sent a letter indicating that they will need in my escrow account a cushion of $750.00 over what is needed to meet my property taxes and hazard insurance payments and of course that dreaded PMI which they also take from my escrow account. I protested giving them the additional $750.00 dollars of free money and they said that they will not accept my monthly mortgage payments until I pay that extra $750.00 dollars cushion. Well they have also not sent me my annual escrow disbursement statement so I have no idea of what is being paid or what is my escrow balance except for what is on the monthly statement and from that you cannot figure if that extra $750.00 is included in the balance.

Are there any attorneys that are willing to go after Ocwen to ensure that their customers rights are protected. I would like to find an attorney that will take my case because I don't for one minute believe that Ocwen is paying for any mortgage insurance on my property since it now valued at a 120% of the appraisal Ocwen has on file.

I have sent proof of HomeOwners Insurance through fax over and over again to Ocwen, they keep saying they did not get it or get the one document that covers me for windstorm and hail damage. My insurance agent even went as far as mailing it to them after faxing several {7} times since Oct. of 2014. My insurance agent is beyond frustrated and I am livid!!! In January of 2015 I was sent another letter stating I did not have the proper insurance for my dwelling, in the letter it actually stated that we did not even have liability or windstorm coverage. Big Fat LIE!!! We are completely covered and competently covered. I have the copy my insurance agent sent me. I have to say that this is the most sloppy ran company I have ever came across!! Every time I call I cannot understand what they are saying and I would guess the reps are outsourced to another company in another country.

Every time I have called {Too Many times to count} they tell me they did not receive the right documents which prove that we have windstorm and hail coverage. I have tried so many times to send them this info. and to no avail they supposedly never get it; well in January of 2015 they decided to purchase windstorm and hail insurance for me, I was very upset to say the least, they took it right out of my escrow 560.00!!! 560.00 just for windstorm and hail coverage for year?!?!?! It seems every time I called a rep would say they received 1 page through fax, and calling back again another rep would say they received 2 pages then another rep would say 4 pages and so on.. What is going on here???!!! I called them and told them to return the 560 right back to my escrow and they said they could not do that until they have proof of coverage!! WTH!!!

I have sent it, my insurance agent has sent it and the only way they let you send it is by fax, how is it my fault their communication {FAX} system is totally screwed up?!?! I feel like someone has stolen from me and I want every red cent back NOW!!! I am going to obtain a lawyer and make them pay for the lawyer fees for really fouling up their own company. It is unacceptable to have these kind of business practices and hurt all of these innocent people!!!! I am hopping mad, I may be small but I know my rights and I shall put you in your place!!! I asked them "where is my proof of windstorm and hail insurance?" They supposedly bought it back on Jan. 15th 2015. When I asked the rep this he could not tell me why I do not have a copy of the supposed insurance they bought me, it has been a month and a half since they purchased this insurance, where is my copy??? This speaks of lawyer time LOUD AND CLEAR!!!

It only takes 7- 10 days to get mail from something like this not a month and a half, someone made up something in this company saying I did not have correct coverage and then ripped me off for $560.00!!! Who wouldn't be angry?!?!?! I will get my money back!!! I am going to another company one that is reputable that can also speak English when I call them. Anyone know of a good lawyer??

Quick synopsis on my credibility: I work for a real estate agent in California who helps homeowners who are having trouble paying their mortgage and owners who decide to short sale their property. We work with the loan servicers to get the short sale approved. I personally am responsible for calling and coordinating and negotiating the short sale between Ocwen and the homeowner (seller) and buyer.

That being said, we have had the unfortunate pleasure of negotiating 5 separate short sales with Ocwen in the last 12 months. Progressively, their customer service has deteriorated. Most recently, documents submitted are not being reflected as received, yet letters are being mailed to the borrower and/or our real estate office confirming Ocwen's receipt of the documentation, so it takes 2-3 times submitting a form to get updated in the file.

Other issues are with Ocwen not sticking to their own review time frame. For example, when the short sale is approved our title company typically requires that before closing escrow on the sale, that Ocwen "approve" the final HUD statement of expenses. Ocwen's approval says the final HUD approval should take 48 hours, however, it always takes at least 5-7 business days to get a response. Naturally if we don't close on time because the HUD is not approved, that affects the numbers on the HUD, so it requires us to factor in these delays from Ocwen and explain to all parties they historically are not able to uphold the timeline written on the approval.

Based on all the issues with working with Ocwen managing these loan files - we have learned it's best practice not to deal with reps in India unless you just need them to read verbatim what is on the notes and to IMMEDIATELY ask to speak to a United States representative (preferably the ones in Texas for short sale questions) who seem to have more common sense in reading notes and having an intelligent conversation about the loan status and what is needed for the short sale approval process (including more realistic timelines of their internal processes handling any issues).

Please note that Ocwen's phone systems apparently do not allow the reps in India to transfer to US directly - when they "transfer the call" to the United States, it goes into a general queue so a lot of the time another rep from India picks up and you have to just keep asking to be transferred. But usually within 20- 30 minutes, you get someone in the United States who is either a supervisor or just better trained customer service rep who typically can give you an answer within 5 minutes in speaking with them.

Bottom line is to allow time for the calls into Ocwen and we hope mortgage companies read these reviews too as it's a disservice to all parties to handle files so poorly, which delays the loans getting paid and borrowers defaulting which is not in anyone's best interest!

My monthly payments are remaining the same amount as it was when they originally purchased my loan from IndyMac. I asked them to change my monthly payment amount. I wrote to them to request that in writing. They never received that request because there is no person responsible to receive these requests. Plus, I was told I must send a check for $5000 in order for them to even consider recalculation and it will take 60 days to maybe for them to tell me my payment will stay the same. Did I mentioned that I paid down my original loan by 40%???

Today I filed with federal regulations, I need to resolve this as soon as possible. Ocwen never send my itemized statement, where is my payment going? I don't trust this company. I hope they will get shut down from fraudulent ways of doing business.

Just today I spoke to one of their wonderful customer service reps who told me they would continue to call me despite my requests not to. I told them my payment was current, provided my bank information to them (and checked with my bank, payment was successfully debited by Ocwen on the 6th), and asked them to send me any documentation that proved otherwise. Our loan was sold to Ocwen. I read the reviews and hoped for the best. We have NEVER missed a payment or been late. We are not an at risk loan. My heart goes out to those in a tough position who must deal with Ocwen. Communicating with them was next to impossible. I called with a question and the associate kept using the term "default" instead of "current." He finally asked me what "default" meant, as he didn't know! (That's scary). Thankfully our loan was sold in September of last year. However, Ocwen did not report it transferred to the credit bureaus.

When I checked up, three months later, it was still listed as open! I called Ocwen and asked them to take care of this. I was very clear in what I needed and followed up with a detailed fax. Their response was a "canned" letter about reporting delinquent accounts! I called to question this and was told it was their mistake and it would be taken care of. A week later, I received another canned letter about my delinquent February 2015 payment. Since our loan was sold in Sept of 2014, this was obviously not the case.

My husband called again. The associate did not understand our request. She stated we did not owe them anything. We replied that we knew that but the credit bureau did not. My husband requested over and over that they notify the credit bureau that our account was transferred. She did not understand. He asked 5 times to speak to a supervisor and she said no. She interrupted my husband over and over, did not listen, and was rude. When he asked questions that were not on her "script" she had no idea how to reply. Finally, 45 minutes later, we got to someone who we hope will understand. We had to send him a screen shot of our credit report to show him what we meant. Here's hoping! If you can avoid them - DO SO!

I was getting my taxes done and we realized that the Mortgage Insurance Premium wasn't included on the 1098 form from Jan-September 2014. This is an issue. I had to reschedule my taxes for the following Monday (my original appt was on a Tuesday, when we discovered the issue), so I could get the issue resolved and get an updated form. It is now 9 days later. Do you think I have the corrected form? NOPE! Had to reschedule my appointment with accountant on Monday of this week, had to cancel because I still didn't have the corrected paperwork and now I have to reschedule my appointment for tomorrow because Ocwen is the most incompetent company that I've ever dealt with.

I've been speaking to "escalation managers" since last Tuesday. The only thing they're escalating is my blood pressure. Every single time that I call I need to explain the whole problem from start to finish because they apparently don't know how to take notes on a caller's issue and I am given the same answer. Now the answer from them is that a third party company is handling the correction of my form and they are waiting for them to send it back to Ocwen so that they can send it to me. I asked if I can call the third party company myself and was told no. They wouldn't even tell me who the third party company was.

The first time that I called, I was HUNG UP ON. This was when I was sitting in my accountant's office and we thought, naively because previous to this I had no idea about this company, that we could resolve quickly. I was hung up on because I dared to allow my accountant to speak to the customer service rep. I sat there and told them that I was with my accountant and that we were on speaker phone and they told me that they could only talk to me and when I said I was getting taxes completed and needed a resolution now so he would be talking too, I was hung up on. So I called back, spoke with someone who didn't hang up on me, but she lied and said the ticket was escalated.

Called back Thursday because I hadn't heard anything and was wondering if there was an update, only to find out that no one had any idea what I was talking about and no ticket had even been opened. WHAT?!?! Spoke to the escalation manager's Manager. He assured me that I would have the form by Sunday, for my appointment on Monday morning.

It is Wednesday and I STILL DO NOT HAVE THE FORM. They are telling me to just tell my accountant the amount needed for that section (they asked me if I knew what the amount was?!?!) and then they'll send the updated form when it's corrected. That's not an option. I'm not sure what they don't understand about needing 1098 forms that are correct when filing taxes, but it seems lost on them. They also told me that it wasn't required when filing taxes. Yeah, FOR THEM. They're not the ones getting $ back, why would they care?

I'm just astounded about how they handle their customers. I told them to stop all of my mortgage payments as of today because I am literally scared about having my money and mortgage being handled by these clowns. Now I need to figure out how to move my mortgage to another company but I am sure any other company would be a lot more trustworthy and helpful than this one. The fact that they are a business that is still operating is astounding to me.

Our monthly payments were reasonable when we started but, most likely, like other people, property taxes and escrow amounts caused the payments to change. My home is a manufactured home, and no-one will refinance it for me. My husband died recently, and now it's up to me. PHH does not have the HARP program operating for homers like myself either. I tried and qualified for it, before my husband's death, but for whatever reason they don't do it.

Now, where my problem comes in, is that I tried to get my mortgage payments reduced, so I can afford it no matter what my situation and they informed me that they usually only help people who are behind in their payments, and that I'd have to pay a $300 fee to get my payments reduced and fill out some kind of application too. Now, why would they rather have their clients sinking and nearly on the streets before they help them?

This past month, I sent them a payment of $700 (first time ever, I have always sent them $1,000) to cover an interest only plus escrow payment of approximately $600. They sent me a new statement indicating the $700 payment with the next months bill as normal. I noticed later that the money did not come out of my account. I am not a novice in regards to managing mortgages and properties, since I currently manage five other mortgages, and a total of nine properties, primary residences and rentals.

I received a new statement yesterday that reflected no payment received, an added late fee, and showing the next payment as well. I called them and they told me that they received a charge back from my bank checking account. This I thought was a lie, and I confirmed it was from my bank. Ocwen representative said I would have to prove this did not happen in order to get the late fee refunded, and only if I make a payment before the end of the month would it reflect on my credit report as late.

I believe this is an 80/20 plan that Ocwen is utilizing to rip off its customers and generate extra cash. I have seen the many lawsuits and whatnot on the internet even a specific Facebook page regarding Ocwen's rip-offs. I know it's on $22, but it's the point of the matter. What can I do? I had them fax me a new application again, filled it out, faxed it, called to confirm they received all the papers needed, they said yes. A few weeks later another call, this time they claim the application is an old form. Mind you, I used what they faxed to me.

So now we are in February 2015 and I just received a letter stating that we don't qualify for a modification, I have an interest rate of 8.80% but they are willing to do a short sale. I don't know why they would think I'm willing to sell my house. My husband continues to make a payment before the 88 day so they foreclose on us. Besides being overcharge, ripped off, getting no customer service, no help, no solutions and having my loan sold from GMAC, their parent company, to Ocwen then to Ocwen LLC. They put me in a Loan Mod of Interest only for 48 years. On top of all that, the $42000 I put down on the home, well they sold that too. And even if I wanted to take out a home equity loan to remodel kitchen or bathroom to sell and get rid of the home, can't do that either. They do not offer that. Not to mention that every customer service call is scripted by people outside of the US who know nothing about Real Estate in the US. They were fined by the State of California millions of dollars, but how is that helping us who are suffering? It is the same run around. I am still paying 9 years now on a house that every penny is all going to interest, and they even stole my downpayment.

I make my payment every 2 weeks from the bill pay feature at my credit union. For some reason, back in November, Ocwen started applying every other payment that I submitted to principal instead of to my payment. I know I have paid 1/2 of my March 1st payment, but they showed I haven't paid the second 1/2 of my February 1st payment yet. Supposedly I got it straightened out today. This all stems back to when I started paying through my CU back in August and they put one of my payments into my escrow account instead of applying it to my monthly payment. I was also with GMAC and had no issues with them. If I could refinance, I would. I have however, gotten my account set up so that anytime I call, my call is routed to the US and I don't have to deal with people who speak very poor English.

Gave a one star cause I had to give something. If up to me I would give -5 stars. Ocwen has screwed me and my wife over. They took 1008 dollars from us and failed to pay our home insurance. We ended up paying out of pocket again to insure our homeowners insurance policy didn't cancel. Ocwen then cancelled the check they allegedly sent to our insurance company because we paid it. Now I'm waiting for a refund from Ocwen which from the reviews doesn't sound good.

We were unable to ascertain explanation of mystery fees tacked onto pay-off quote, lack of cooperation to obtain necessary documentation for reports/fees. We were told that their research department has records and they are located in W Palm Beach, FL. However, they do not have a phone/fax or email. Receipt of funds was acknowledged on two different dates during 1 conversation and despite OCWEN's 15 point commitment which states all funds will be applied and accounted for within 24 hours, we were told that we needed to patient for 3 or 4 days.

Our representative said he does not have email capability and cannot acknowledged receipt of funds. NONE of the figures in an amortization schedule, in the impounds or any other payment distribution make any sense whatsoever. To date we have filed two complaints with CFPB and expect more to follow. OCWEN has been sanctioned to the tune of 2 billion dollars for fraudulent practices. I do not see any improvement and require adequate accounting from someone with OCWEN that speaks clear, standard English and understands basic accounting, mortgage financing and this country's mandatory mortgage regulations

Ocwen bought out my mortgage when GMAC went under and, at first, there was no problem because even though I was sending a payment to them they were not actually handling my account yet. As of October 2014 "they" started working my mortgage and it has been downhill ever since. I never got my escrow analysis for 2014 even though I know there was a surplus as my mortgage payment went down. I called 7 times over 4 weeks to get one done and got a new story every single time. They just bought my loan, I am too new to get an analysis, they upgraded their systems, they don't have my information, all of our "supervisors are on the phone", "I am in America" and on and on and on. Needless to say I was not getting my analysis.

Suddenly I finally get one in the mail.....and that is when it really went down. They decided to do an analysis NOT for 2014 but instead for only October 2014 to March 2016 and forecasted my taxes and insurance to go up DRAMATICALLY. I have gotten my renewal policy.....my insurance didn't go up for 2015 and after speaking with the county neither did my taxes. According to these animals though all of my amounts have changed, I need to send $ to create a cushion in my escrow account to protect me (laughable) and that randomly, in the middle of the year, my mortgage payment is going to increase quite a bit to cover the "future costs of servicing me". I still cannot get any answers on where they got these figures from and how they do not make up information yet I sit here with proof that nothing has increased let alone by the amounts they are saying. They are holding me and my mortgage hostage and demanding a ransom from ME!

Yes read that again...I pay my mortgage biweekly A MONTH IN ADVANCE and they harass me every month, saying I'm late. They will never let me speak to a supervisor and say every time this will be corrected and never happen again. I'm going to start writing down the Employee ID # and names of the people who call me and hire an attorney. I have had ENOUGH!!!

Ocwen has not sent me a refund for an overage in my escrow account from two years ago. I have never missed a payment on my mortgage with Ocwen. I am a disabled senior citizen on a fixed income and I need the $929 that they owe me for medical expenses. I spend many stressful hours each week trying to recover this money. Ocwen has made promises to wire the money to my checking account but they have never followed through. Why aren't State or Federal regulatory agencies stepping up to the plate to either enforce or create legislation to stop the ongoing problems that consumers are experiencing with with Ocwen's abusive servicing practices. Please help! I would be happy to share my mortgage records and testify against Ocwen.

Ocwen made it very possible for me to keep my home when I lost my job. They understand the importance of your family and well being. Ocwen understood my needs and my living suitably. They lower my interest rate from 8.50 to 4.75 how sweet. It was a long process getting all the paper works they needed. As today I am still in my home. Not worried. Thank you Ocwen.

My loan was sold to Ocwen and it has been hell ever since. I have an impound account for mortgage, home insurance and taxes. They sent me a confirmation that all was scheduled to be paid on time. In September, I started hearing from my home insurance company, Ameriprise, telling me that it had not been paid and that they had not heard back when faxing or sending letters at my request. I called, confirmed information regarding the fax and proper mailing address to make the payment. I called them weekly and spoke with Mukash from India every time. He is the escalation specialist...what a joke. I had to pay out of my other funds to maintain my insurance and they were to apply it to the principal initially, but when that didn't happen, I asked them to send me a check. Now we are almost in March and I still haven't received my $1,000 check. It is unbelievable!! I could go on with more detail, but you would be disgusted too!

About three years ago I became a displaced worker from a professional middle class occupation. I immediately contacted Ocwen who had recently taken over my mortgage with no notification from Litton or Ocwen until I got a late notice. My payment had been sent to Litton Mortgage After notifying them of my change in income and requesting a modification. There is no easy way to explain this experience except pure nightmare hell. Finally it went thru after 6 months of struggling to pay my mortgage which I did fall behind on. I received a phone call from a friend telling me my house was listed on the foreclosed property page of our paper during this process. Also I changed insurance companies and notified Ocwen immediately but they failed to pay the insurance in order to continue my insurance coverage my payment almost doubled because due to no payment. My insurance company even called them trying to straighten this out to no avail.

Well on Feb 13 I received a 1098 statement showing the amount of the modification and the amount was now discharged so I had to claim it on my income taxes causing me to owe more in taxes than I made last year. They are one sneaky poor customer service company I have ever dealt with. They need to have a class action suit against them for harassment, unprofessional behavior, unethical and misinformation.

We have been going back and forth with OCWEN for a few months on a shortsale... They keep starting the clock over again when they request more documentation from the seller telling us the sale is "Conditional" ... Their Customer Service is the worst when it comes to getting updates. They are based out of North Hollywood CA and currently settling for MILLIONS in shady tactics for foreclosures.

I worked (ONE OF THE WORST PLACES TO WORK FOR MORTGAGES) for HSBC and some states by law require they automatically transfer you back to the United States to be helped. File a complaint with the Consumer Protection Finance Bureau and put them to task..... File with your AG office and make sure you can or already have documentation uploaded to your complaint ... Hammer them. I couldn't give no stars so they got 1.

Oh my God, where can I begin? So many things have happen to me with this company since my home was destroyed. But the story I would like to share with you is that during the lost of my due to water, my loan was sold to Ocwen by IndyMack and hence my hell. Trying to communicate with someone it's impossible since you have to tell your story to everyone before you can speak to the person you need to speak to. But during this time of stress I received a letter from Ocwen stating that my home owners insurance was going to be cancelled because no one was living in the property. I immediately contacted Ocwen and informed them that they needed to send someone to inspect the property so that the insurance company would know that I was indeed living in the home.

They never send anyone to inspect and then they had the nerve to send me a letter informing me of my lack of insurance on the property and if I did not secure insurance, they were going to provide it at a higher rate. I call Ocwen with my underwriter on the phone who requested from Ocwen a copy of the inspection done to my home. Now figure this they did an inspection of my home I was never present and never allowed anyone in, LOL. But my concern was not to have to be stuck with a higher premium. They told my agent it would take 3 days to release the information and we hung up.

Two weeks later I received a letter from Ocwen with the same threat. They never sent the information to the agent, I scream, cursed, and finally told them I did not care what they did I was not paying a higher premium due to their neglect and that if I receive another letter I was taking action against them. I can only tell you that if your loan is sold to Ocwen you are in for the ride of your life. I think it's very unfair how the little people are threatened because there is no one who truly cares. So what if you lose your home and end up on the street with your kids? "Not my problem."

As a licensed attorney, I am as outraged as all the other folks here! I used to have Gmac with no problems at all. Then without my permission, Ocwen took over my loan. I always pay my mortgage ahead of time, as much as the company will allow. Last August I paid for five months ahead. My bank statement shows all these. But Ocwen reps keep calling me saying my account is overdue. In Dec a male rep supposedly resolved the problem after many calls and much time. Then in January the same thing happened and a female rep supposedly resolved it. Now we are getting past due notices and I just got a phone call again today.

My first and second mortgage were both transferred to Ocwen from Indymac. Lucky me. I have always paid my mortgage close to the 15th of the month for several years. Now I have Ocwen calling me daily after the fifth of the month, harassing me about paying my payment immediately. I shouldn't get any calls from them 'til after the late date which is the 16th. The thing that kills me is first thing they ask for when they call me is my social security number.
