I’m 75 and since this problem with Nationstar started, I have been in the hospital with heart problems and at this time, I cannot return to work. I purchased my home after living in the same house for 29 years and paying for someone else’s mortgage. I had put aside some savings and I was still working. But my employer closed the doors because they could pull out of a Chapter 13. Until I became ill, I was seeking other employment of any kind. I cut my expenses and combined services for lower payments, cut items that I could do without. I filed for HAMP modification, which says they would have to lower my payments not more than 31% of my gross social security check each month. That would mean I could still stay in my home.

VA is a NON-JUDICIAL state that cannot insure that the mortgage company has the authority to foreclose. Well, my home was sold at a public sale this morning. Being alone is no fun and at this point, I have no one or any place to go. I talked to Nationstar last night and asked that they wait until I received word on the HAMP modification that I applied for. I was informed if they did that it would cost them thousands of dollars, even my congressman could not stop this and he really worked at it. As far as I am concerned, Nationstar is out to crook anyone they can.

I purchased my home in 2007 and Countrywide originally had my loan. Later, it was sold to BOA and as of June 2013, it was sold to Nationstar. Since 2008, I have had my payments set-up on an automatic bi-weekly payment schedule without incident. I attempted to do the same thing with NationStar and was told that they don't accept partial payments and they use a third-party company for such. I called the third-party company and was told that they charge a $295 fee for this service, plus a $5 monthly service fee. In addition, I would have to make my full July payment, full August payment and they will draft me on August 3rd and 23rd. So basically in August, I have to pay 2 mortgage payments because this 3rd-party company needs time to transfer the money to Nationstar. Needless to say, this whole thing has been a big inconvenience, poorly handled and mismanaged. I am not pleased at all with the lack of conveniences NationStar has.

My loan was originally with BOA, but they sold it to Nationstar last month. And I had applied for modification in 2010 with BOA. They put me on forbearance plan till this October but they sold that to Nationstar. And I am having the worst experience with them to just pick it up where it left off. I have to fill out my paperwork again for the modification. My point of contact never answered any email or calls. I do not understand in the first place why Nationstar would want to buy my loan when I was in middle of modification. BOA does not want to lose money on me so they have sold it to the Nationstar. Wow...

When we bought our home in December 2007, it was with Countrywide Mort. and then later sold to Bank of America. I had many problems with them. I did everything they asked of me and they still would not help me so we, in turn, filed for Bankruptcy. In April 2013, we were sent notice that Bank of America had sold out their loans to Nationstar Mortgage and their "so-called" business practices have been quite unfair and I fear we will lose our home because of them. When this transition was made, I was informed to make my usual payment of $1143.00 to Bank of America and then it would be forwarded to Nationstar Mort.

They cashed this check and have it on hold and will not apply it to my mortgage because they now say my new mortgage payment has gone up to $1213.88 and we have a fixed rate mortgage. Okay, so after that, I made 1 or 2 payments against my better judgement for the $1213.88. Now they are saying my payment is $1936.50. I have called and talked with them just like I did with Bank of America to no avail. I could not get any positive results. I was told that my escrow and takes and homeowners had gone up and they had to raise my payments. No, it is a fixed rate loan!

I am on disability and I do not get my check until the 2nd Wednesday of each month and my Mortgage payment is due the 1st of the month and has been paid late several times simply because I did not have the money. I have asked that they change my payment date. They won't do that unless I refinance and I do not want to refinance with them. From the get go, I have had nothing but trouble out of them. They have sent me loan modification papers and I am not going there again because of what I went through with Bank of America. I bent over backwards, jumped through hoops, did everything they wanted me to and they still said I did not qualify, hence the Bankruptcy.

I am very angry and upset because we have worked very hard to have this house. It is our home and I be dern if we are going to lose it over their stupidity. We have not been treated fairly at all. So what do I do? Please tell me. I want to refinance our house through our Credit Union but can't until we have reached 2 years on our Bankruptcy discharge.

A Minnesota statute states I have the right to discontinue my escrow account if my loan is at least 7 years old and I am not late on my payments. Both of these apply to my situation. I sent Nationstar a written request to discontinue my escrow account, but it was rejected because Nationstar says they have a policy to not discontinue escrow accounts once they are created. Sorry, Nationstar, but State Law supersedes your company policy. I have forwarded their letter to the Minnesota Attorney General, who already assured me verbally that I was correct. Hopefully, Nationstar gets a big fat fine.

I am a real estate agent in the Los Angeles county. My client had made an offer on this home that was currently a bank-approved short sale. We were told there were currently 15 offers on the table - make your highest and best offer. We did. My client bid $51k over the asking price - all cash, no contingencies, and a seven day close. This was on Feb. 15. A few months went by and they asked for a credit check on my client, and a few more documents. This is an ALL CASH offer??? We complied.

June 1 finally comes and the listing agent tells me that the bank feels they can get more. The house is going to ACTION.com. The house will be held open for two days. My client was VERY upset. We thought we had a solid offer. The Action is open for three days and the bid was set at $200k. Later I was told that the appraisal from the bank came in at $389K... The original list price on the house was $399K. My client again bid $51k over asking. The auction closed after three days with a selling price of $452,500.00. The only person to gain in this fiasco was the auction house. Their 5% commission ($22,500) has to be paid by the winning bidder. The bank gained only $2,500. REALLY???

What I would like is an explanation of why the bank put my client and myself through 4 months of waiting, only to accept another cash offer for percent more than the offered price. This could have been sold by the end of February 2013 if they had gone with my client's offer. What the bank did in this case seems to enforce the stereotype of banks as greedy and heartless, not thinking about the damage they cause as people try earn a living.

I had decided to make my monthly payments in two equal installments. I had read that if you paid that way, you would save money on interest and pay off your mortgage sooner. I started doing that in March 2013. In April, I received a call from the collections department indicating I was late for my payment. I explained that I had made two equal payments (of exactly 1/2 my regular pay) and I was NOT late. After a one-hour conversation to fix this, the gentleman indicated that the problem was caused because their systems don't know what to do with payments when they are not payments in full, so they apply the entire payment to principal which does not count as your mortgage payment. He said he reversed the payments to principal and applied correctly and that everything was fine now.

I asked if I would be reported to the credit bureau and he said no. In the meantime, I had already paid 1/2 of my April payment, so I had no choice but to make the second installment. I got a second call from collections saying I hadn't made my March payment. I again explained everything and the woman said they had no record of one of the 1/2 payments. I sent her a confirmation number from my web banking. She said if I did that everything would be straightened out and no report to credit bureaus. Again, a one-hour conversation and a waste of time because I got a third call a week or so later telling me I was two months behind on my mortgage, a one-hour conversation and I asked to speak to the supervisor. I didn't get to a supervisor but I was told that he was aware of the situation and would expedite the correction.

Then I got notification from Experian that they had sent a notice to the credit bureaus saying I was late on my mortgage. It caused my credit score to go down dramatically. I sent a fax to the research department where I had sent the prior confirmation, and I sent a spreadsheet of all of the payments I had made since January and all of the bank confirmation numbers along with a letter saying this needed to be corrected immediately and a notice needed to go to the credit bureaus correcting the prior notice. A few days later, I got another call from collections. Now, I review my account and the company has reversed every payment I have made since March and never re-credited them so my principal balance did not change despite making four full payments. This is still not settled!

Same as other unfortunate homeowners with BA mortgage, mine was transferred to Nationstar this June 4. I have experienced similar unfortunate poor customer service. They have a payment system online that goes through Western Union, which charges extra fees if you make one-time payments. I had to schedule recurring payments but got cancelled for unknown reasons. I needed to do it over the phone which they would have charged me extra fees.

I want to say that they have assigned my new loan account no. with **. I requested to get this changed but was told that I need to get refinanced to get it replaced. I cannot understand why I have to pay for closing costs which amounts to $5,000 just to replace my loan no??? I submitted this complaint with BBB. This shows what kind of 'greed' they have with their customers.

We refinanced our loan with Nationstar since the loan was already held by them, thinking the fees would be much less than with any other company. When the estimated charges were shown to us, I immediately called our Mortgage Professional to stop the process. He promised me the numbers were always inflated and not to worry. Four months later, on a Saturday, we received the final disclosure of fees and they were still quite inflated. I couldn't get a hold of anyone and we were scheduled to sign on Sunday. My husband and I decided to go through with the signing since we were told earlier that we could lose our locked in rate. That was the end of January. We have made many, many phone calls with few responses.

We finally got an agreement from our Mortgage Professional, Mr. **, who said his boss agreed to a $1,500 credit. The credit never came. We sent a letter to the President, Mr. Harold Lewis, Jr., to complain and received a response from Bree (sp?) who promised they would resolve this in one month. June 18th was the deadline. I have called her three times, leaving three voicemails but no response. Our initial loan should have been $1,500 less than it was. Consequently, this loan will require we pay $1,500 plus compounded interest. I have never dealt with a company that was mostly unresponsive and when they did respond, just gave us the runaround.

I was already being told about rescheduling the closing date when the fax came through from Nationstar. So, it delayed my closing by 1 1/2 hours instead of several days. I truly believe this could have been avoided if they would have kept their promise and completed the request in a timely manner. I like Nationstar but I still have to rate their call takers as "0 - terrible". They need retraining or the capability to send the mortgage payoff themselves instead of blaming another department in the company. If you are that busy, give your call takers access to do the research and faxing of the material.

It has now been nearly 2 weeks, and I have still not received a dime back from Nationstar. This time has included numerous phone calls with reps that are completely clueless of their job, promises by others to have the situation resolved immediately, reps placing me on hold for 30 minutes or longer, letters stating that a refund check was sent, but not received, etc. At this point, I consider this to be theft, and will be contacting the Better Business Bureau to file a complaint. I am writing to my fellow consumers to express the outrage of Nationstar's handling of the recent $10.4 billion dollar acquisition of housing debts from BOA. I am going to write a letter to the Secretary of State to inform the said representative of the following:

Nationstar has increased fees for services to my mortgage, of which I did not agree or consent to in any form; furthermore, these services leave no option for cancellation or removal. Nationstar became the debt collector for my mortgage and added Insurance + Property Tax + Escrow Fees. If you notice, it is illegal for Nationstar to increase the principal of my house, since this is federally-owned and regulated. Instead, Nationstar made this move for a mass acquisition from BOA in order for them to charge customers excessive amounts in various "fees and services" that they are "uniquely" providing. This is unacceptable. It is bleeding Americans of their money so that they can use the additional cash capital for investments to their company, at their own discretion.

I wanted to keep my personal feelings separate, but since this is a consumer affairs review, I will let you all know. I spent multiple hours calling Nationstar, particularly dealing with their escrow department. On 6/13/13, I spoke with a representative named Jason **. I calmly asked why the escrow fee was charged and why the rates would be increasing over the next few months. After talking for a while, he simply said he did not know. At this point, I asked him to remove the insurance and property taxes so that I may pay for it myself. He obliged and submitted a "Request." I called yesterday, and spoke with a woman named Stacy who apologized for having no updates, but reassured me that if I called during 8AM-5PM CST, I could speak directly with a supervisor.

I called again today, 6/28/13, and spoke with a representative named Quentin. Quentin refused to let me talk to a supervisor. Not only that, when I asked how my application was thus far, his response was, "What application? Did you physically fill out an application with us?" This was said in an extremely condescending tone. I told him, "The request that was put in for escrow removal." He then told me, "Sir, once the escrow process has started, Nationstar will not remove it. The department just doesn't do that." So when I asked him if the request was, therefore, wasting my time, he said, "Sir, those are your words, not mine." At this point, I thanked him and asked to speak with a supervisor. Quentin, not only denied this request, but he denied it 20 times. He said I could not speak with a supervisor for any reason that he deemed inappropriate. I said, "I just wanted to make a comment to the supervisor." Eventually Quentin put me on hold. He came back 5 minutes later, picked up the phone and told me, "Sorry there is no one available. Thank you for calling Nationstar," and promptly hung up on me. Keep in mind that this was now 9:30 AM. I had been on the phone with their automated service since 8 AM.

I strongly advise anyone who has been a victim of this company's questionable tactics to inform your local representatives. That's what our tax money is for. We need a way to get out of this. As it is now, it is a completely unjust situation and is bleeding America from its core.

I received my notice from BOA mid-May 2013 that our loan was being transferred to Nationstar. I didn't receive my welcome letter from Nationstar until the second week of June with the info on how to make payments. Therefore, I was charged a fee to make an online payment which I sometimes incurred from BOA anyway if I paid after the 1st but before the 17th. Our welcome letter included all information needed including the new account number and it took me minutes to set up my account and save my bank account information. I made the payment the day I got the letter and it came out of my account 3 days later (longer than normal).

I keep seeing complaints about fees being charged to make an online payment but if you make your payment when it's due, those fees aren't applied. I also see complaints about not being able to make partial payments with Nationstar but my letter clearly states they are allowed as long as the remainder of the payment is made before it becomes delinquent (the 17th)... It is also explained on the site. I'm wondering if many of these complaints come from people who don't make their payments online and maybe aren't computer savvy?? My welcome letter did not come with a slip to mail in a payment so I'm wondering if that's the problem for many people... plus our payment amount changed, about $10.00 lower a month but the total loan amount didn't change at all. It's weird but fine with me.

I will be keeping a close eye on this and I am saving every piece of paper that comes from them and BOA. I have no complaints so far and feel bad for those having issues. Hopefully, we have no problems. Also, don't forget to contact your insurance company to tell them about the change.

I attempted to contact Nationstar for info on setting up automatic payment through our bank. Rep for Nationstar told me I had to do everything online. I explained I did not want to do online banking. I was told to contact at a later date. I made contact again on 06/12/13. I was told the auto pay form could not be located in the computer system at that time and I should enroll in their online system. I explained I did not want to enroll in online system. I made my home payment via phone for the month of June. I was told to call the next day about setting up "auto payment".

I called on 06/13/13 and the rep I got this time said I needed to go to my bank and initiate the auto pay service from my bank. I need to mention there is no direct line to reach a customer service person. Each time when I call, I have chosen a random selection such as "Information about refinancing" or "Information about taxes and insurance" etc. On 06/26/13, I contacted the customer service number as I went to my bank and was told the bank provides Bill Pay service and I would be charged for that but the mortgage company generally will provide customers with a form for Automatic Pay Withdrawal which is what we previously had in place. Today, I have been hung up on three times while talking to reps from Nationstar. The first person who answered my call yelled "What the hell" and the line went dead. The second person disconnected the line in the middle of my sentence.

The third person seemed pleasant but insisted he was not customer service. When I addressed the fact, I dialed the customer service number, he had no explanation. He said he could not provide me with the auto pay form but would transfer me. Once again, disconnected. The fourth contact I made I asked her politely to NOT hang up on me. I admitted to her I was upset and previous reps had hung up on me even though I had not cursed or screamed. She explained to me the form was hard to find. She found the form and told me I would receive the form in 5 to 7 days. I do not feel comfortable conducting my banking information online. The statement we received from Nationstar does not reflect the payment we made on the phone on 06/12/13. This entire experience is frightening. What can individuals do at this point? I did inquire if there is a complaint process and was told "You can go online."

I was previously a Bank of America customer since 2009 and have always paid my mortgage payment on time. I've never had any issues with BOA. They have real professional staff members that are well informed about loan information and were able to answer all questions. So, much to my surprise, I received a letter from BOA notifying me that my loan was going to be transferred to Nationstar Mortgage effective June 4, 2013. I was very shocked. I actually thought it was some type of scam. Unfortunately, for me it was very true.

My loan had, in fact, been transferred to Nationstar Mortgage. They have the worst customer service ever, staff members seem to be very confused with regards to basic loan questions. I was transferred numerous times to still get no clear answer. Nationstar doesn't take payments over the phone without tacking on an additional $9.95 fee. They have no local branches and/or offices in the state of Virginia, so you can't walk in and pay your mortgage. Prior to my loan being transferred to Nationstar Mortgage, I was in the process of getting my mortgage refinanced for a lower interest rate and have requested online and over the phone that Nationstar Mortgage fax over the document as soon as possible so that I don't miss the deadline on my lock-in rate.

According to the website, it takes 3 to 5 business days for payoff to be released. However, when I called to check on the status, four separate Nationstar Mortgage representatives gave totally different answers. Rep 1 said there was no record of me requesting a payoff; rep 2 said they are prioritizing and processing the customers that were closing at the end of June first. Rep 3 put me on hold and then hung up the phone after I requested to speak to a supervisor since I had been provided with so many different answers. Rep 4 said my payoff request was in queue to be processed and I should receive it hopefully this Friday, June 28, 2013.

I hope to goodness it arrives so I can refinance and get away from this awful company. I'm not sure how they have been in business for so long for the lack of knowledge their employees have. They need to provide better training and/or support to their employees. You can clearly time they are reading off some type of script that they well just keep repeating over and over and over. Honestly, some questions do not even require the scripted answers but it seems as if that is all those employees know. It is absolutely the worst terrible customer service ever but I guess I will give them some credit for least keeping people employed in this economy. - Extremely dissatisfied transferred customer.

Nationstar did not mail out the welcome package until April 18th, which I received around April 20th, resulting in me having a late payment. I called to pay them, and they wanted me to pay a fee to pay them! I complained and the CS Rep said I could pay for free online when I set up an account, which I did. I then tried to make an online payment, and it goes through Western Union, which charges a fee! Unbelievable, aye yi yi! They want a late payment fee, plus a payment fee on top of that! They are taking in our money hand over fist, and don't want to be offering good customer service in return. I am going to try to refinance with GreenTree, who is the servicer for Citizen’s Bank on my 2nd mortgage. GreenTree offers fast and friendly customer service. They don't call and pester you until after the late date, and then it is still more like a friendly reminder. If you can't pay that month, they will roll you over into the next month.

We refinanced with Provident Bank in California in May. Within 5 days, they sold the loan to Nationstar. Then 5 days later, they sold the loan to Fannie Mae. I was instructed to continue sending payments to Nationstar. I made 2 payments and then was able to pay off the mortgage in full. I requested a payoff figure online and received the instructions within a day. On June 10, I wired nearly $195,000 to them and received no notification that the money was received. On June 12, I was locked out of my online account. The phone teller said my last payment for $1250 was received and my next payment is due July 1.

I called the main phone number and after 15 minutes of going through their menu, I was connected to a live person who spoke little English that told me they had received the money, but about $600 less than I actually sent. I asked for confirmation in writing, and they said they guaranteed my balance was zero. I requested a confirmation of this is writing; they said they would within 24-48 hours by fax. Nothing happened. I called again, went through the same crap and the next person who also sounded like they were in India said their policy was to send a letter and refund in 30 days. I wanted a receipt of some sort.

On the 14th, I called again and got the same runaround that a fax would be sent in 24-48 hours. On the 17th, I called again. On the 20th, I called again and finally got a supervisor who said no one submitted anything. He promised I would have it within 24 hours. On the 21st, I called and spoke to another agent, this time with a strong Filipino accent who said I would have it by the end of business day, after I threatened to have my lawyer contact them. Nothing came. Now I am going to call the FBI. I have $195,000 somewhere in the Ethernet, with no way to verify it was ever received. This is a crime.

My mortgage company was Wells Fargo and they were wonderful. I had good credit. When the interest rates went down, I decided to refinance with a different company so that I could get a lower rate. Roundpoint Mortgage Company became my mortgage company. They were wonderful just as Wells Fargo was. About two and a half years ago, they switched me over to Nationstar Mortgage and I started having problems right from the very beginning. They increased my monthly payment by $600 and after going back and forth many times, they changed the increase to $500 a month. They have been trying to take my home for the last two years. I cannot afford to pay this increase that they came up with saying that my home was appraised at the wrong amount. It wasn't the wrong amount when the other mortgages were handling this. Why now?

The appraisal value of my home has not increased. It is decreased, so my mortgage should not have increased at all. My rate should have been fixed, so they should not have been able to do this to me. There are so many complaints against this company. Why aren't we planning a class action suit against them? How are they allowed to do this continuously over and over again to so many people and nothing is being done? They should be sued for all of the emotional stress that they are causing in addition to being sued for ruining people's credit. They have turned my life upside down.

I am one of those whose mortgages got transferred from BOA at the beginning of June 2013. I was leery about Nationstar due to the numerous negative comments and reviews. I decided to NOT hit the panic button and refrained from making phone calls the very day of the transfer like so folks seem to want to do. I just waited for the dust to settle, let the transition get a few days of debugging, and the new folks get used to their new offices (I assume anyway). I just made my first online mortgage payment to Nationstar via their Western Union Web Payment using my routing number and checking account number and found it to work flawlessly with NO additional charge. I repeat, NO additional charge. Other states may have an additional charge, but it appears that Colorado does not. Very pleased so far. But then again, I have a standard issue 30-year VA loan and make my payments on time like I should (read: not complicated).

When GMAC went bankrupt, Nationstar Mortgage LLC moved in as assignee and assignor by MERS assignment. The original lender was Homecomings Mortgage and was not signed as a CEO on the NOTE. All the people involved in this assignment were employees of NATIONSTAR MORTGAGE, including the NOTARY. HOMECOMINGS had the mortgage with me and never formally recorded the MBS as required by law and used GMAC as the servicer. Then Nationstar came as servicer two years later when GMAC went bankrupt. I sent seven QWR to Nationstar to find the proper mortgager but never received any answer. They would only send the statement of payoff of this as their debt, but the assignment is a fraud as this was supposed to be a secured loan by Fannie Mae. But that was never recorded.

This mortgage has been sold to several MBS under different loan numbers to make them appear as a normal mortgage to each mortgagor in the securities. Nationstar is not suing in the name of any trust or stated any trust number. Nationstar has even stated in letters that they are the servicer and not the owner of the loan. But they state in court and the records that they were assigned the loan as mortgagor, which they cannot show in any records. There have been many TILA, UCC, PA act 6 and 91 for not sending notice of foreclosure in their name. I have documented all the frauds and violations of the laws in PA, but the court has been siding with the Plaintiff because Nationstar's legal dept has told the court that I have been living rent-free for over four years, but have not produced the proper documents in court or the records showing that assignment that was filed was legal.

When a loan is sold to another out of the original mortgagor, said buyer and owner of such sale has to, by law, send notice letters to the borrower that they are the new mortgagors proper which was never done, along with the Foreclosure Notice Act 91 from Nationstar which also was never received by the defendant. The assignment should have the signature of the CEO of Homecomings stating the assignment and also should have done a title search of the deed before filing in the county records to file foreclosure. Nationstar has been producing fraud to the court proven by document produced by the plaintiff and filed with the county court. How can I get the court to force compliance from Nationstar, as they have been using hearsay documents to file the assignment which by the way in the MERS records, GMAC was not recorded and Nationstar was not in any records as having any standing to this property?

If further documents are needed, I can send them to you as I cannot afford a lawyer and only receive $300 per month. The Legal Aid in my county has no lawyers, so I have been doing the best I can with information from online sources and filing everything myself. I have just come back from court for the oral brief and the lawyer for Nationstar has been telling the court that I have not been filing any arguments or answering to the discoveries. But I have the documents filed in court and the postal receipts of being sent and being received, all being accepted by hearsay evidence to the court.

This rate is outrageous. They have now offered to lower it to $1,717 but that is STILL outrageous and is NOT 31% of our monthly gross, per the terms of the HAMP agreement. It should be closer to $1,000 a month. Our friends say they are trying to push us out of the house. Our assigned representative at Nationstar hasn't corresponded with us in any way for over two months. Every time we call, we get someone different with different information.

My loan was sold from Bank of America to Nationstar Mortgage. I was in loan modification when my loan was sold. Nationstar did not contact me. Calling Bank of America, checking on my modification status, I was told that my loan was sold and another mortgage company will contact me. I asked what will happen with my loan modification. I was advised that new company, Nationstar, will continue the process. When I finally received the letter from Nationstar telling me about my loan being sold to them, I called Nationstar Mortgage and was told I have to start the loan modification process again from the beginning. They said they do not have any information on me regarding modification. So I began the process again.

It was taking a long time. New contact person was assigned to my loan and changed again and again. Poor communication, no guidance and at the end, I was denied. No solution was given to me either except to make all past due payments which is impossible. I made a monthly payment via online banking in March which went okay. Now, when I made my payment in June, it was returned back to me. I feel I was taken for a ride and was not treated the way you treat a homeowner in distress and real need. I also know this mortgage company takes their time not to approve you and then say you do not qualify due to not having enough income. So why start the process for loan modification if I make enough? I bought the house at high price. The value declined.

So now, no communication from the company with any other solutions to my account or even help me set up repayment plan. Nothing! It’s as if I am left and ready to face the worst. And it looks like does not matter if our president Obama comes up with solutions and help for homeowners in need if the companies do what they please and do not give help like they’re supposed to. If Nationstar would continue with my loan modification when they took over from Bank of America, I would not be in this situation today. This is called total negligence!!! I know I am not the only one out there. Next step for me is to contact an attorney.

When my bank account did not show that my mortgage was paid after sending the check more than a week prior, I called them; they had not received my payment. They, of course, immediately offered the online payment for a fee and also offered the automatic payment taken out of my bank account monthly.

I do not trust them so I keep on paying by mail but how? They can always say that they did not receive my payment and charge me a late fee and also threaten to report me to the credit bureau. Should I send my payments certified mail now? With a return receipt to prove that I did send my payment? It's cheaper than their late fees. This company should be reported as fraudulent. Nationstar is a mess. Since our mortgage was sold to them from Bank of America DURING a refinance process, I was attempting to close on with another mortgage lender, nightmare is the best word to describe... I was able to access my account on June 10th and on June 11th, my new lender and I requested a payoff so we could close on my refinance. Well at this point, we still do not have it! You have to send in a request even if you call on a 3-person conference call to speed things up and authorize the info. They will not do it over the phone or fax!!!! They first told us it is 5 business days. Then when we checked on Friday, they said they never received it. The new lender had the fax reply to prove and a documented phone call as well as me calling personally.

We were told Friday, June 14th. It would not be able to be accessed for the payoff amount for 24-48 hrs and this has to be business days! So since we had not heard anything, we called today, June 18th, past the 48 hrs and were told it was not processed yet!!!!!! After numerous calls and complaints messages to supervisors and another 3-person conference call, amazingly they then found the fax from June 11th but the time limit had been expired/date. No one bothered to tell us about an expiration date on the authorization form I signed. They were talking about the original one I signed with Bank of America which they had nothing to do with because we did not realize they were selling our mortgage. The fax paperwork request had the right date June 11th but that doesn't work!

No one ever mentioned this in the 3 phone conversations we had with Nationstar, nor did they attempt to notify us about the date. The new lender and I have left 3 messages for supervisors or managers today to get back with us since a supervisor is never available and no one will call us back. Needless to say, our closing date passed last week and we're still battling with them just to get a payoff so we can pay them off!!!!!! My suggestion is if you have them as your mortgage company, try your best to refinance with someone else. If you are looking at them for mortgage lender, I suggest stay away. I am going to file a complaint through the BBB and our State Attorney General's Office.

I have been trying to get my loan modified since 2/1/2011. Aurora sold my loan to Nationstar in July of 2012. They tried to quickly sell my home at a sheriff's sale on July 15th. I had to engage the MN Attorney General to stop the sale and get someone at Nationstar to talk to me. Nationstar fails to return phone calls and emails on a constant basis. In addition, the name of the person they give you as your point of contact either does not exist or will NEVER return a call... so you are left with no one to call to answer your questions. I emailed one supposed point of contact for 6 months with no response. Then finally, I got an email stating he would be out of the office until 1/20/2020!!!

Nationstar has had me fill out the HAMP application 5 times; they have misplaced documents multiple times, have failed to update income documents and profit/loss statements, and have tried to do a sheriff sale 10 times on us already. WE have had each sale successfully postponed as each sale was invalid or was going to be done illegally. After threatening to run a securitization audit on our mortgage checking for illegal sales on Wall Street, they finally sent us loan modification documents. They then forced us to pay our first trial period payment almost 30 days early...which we did.

Our next payment then was to be due on 7/1/2013. It clearly states this on the paperwork they sent us. Well, on June 6th, they demanded the second trial payment which, of course, we sent. Yesterday, we got two letters... one stating that we are good to go with the trial period payments and that once they get our third payment, our loan will be permanently modified. The second letter we got said that they are sorry but they cannot offer us any assistance due to "negative monthly cash flow"... which is false. We completed our required HUD counseling session through Money Management International, who then recommended us for HAMP. Within less than a week, we got our paperwork from Nationstar... so who knows what is going on?

Our trial period payments are $2933.66...so you can imagine the size of our original loan! Nationstar needs to clean up their act as they are not helping homeowners out as the program is designed to do. I suggest anyone trying to do a loan mod with them contact the Help line set up by the government as they were very helpful in getting Nationstar to finally work with us. I think we will see Nationstar in the news soon having to settle with consumers like Bank of America had to... They just don't get it. Our battle has gone on 30 months and isn't close to over! Shame on Nationstar!

I attempted to make another payment but find that I get charged a fee for ad-hoc payments online (using Western Union). So I sent them a check instead, this time to cover both May and June.

This payment cleared on June 4th and my online statement is showing that I'm current with my payments. The next one is due on July 1st. Today, I get a letter in the mail saying that I haven't made a payment in over 60 days (strange because 60 days ago, I was a Bank of America customer) and that I'm in default. On top of this, they've supposedly notified credit reporting agencies, which I'm really upset about because I have a rating in the high 700s. Not only this but I understand that when a mortgage is transferred, there is a 60-day grace period where no fees can be charged, and I'm assuming I can't be placed in default, even if I hadn't made any payments. I'm dreading having to call them because I'm reading that they're outsourcing customer service overseas. I've since written to them and notified the BBB of this issue.

Nationstar charges me a late fee of $25 plus other fees I can't understand or get resolve on if not paid by the 10th, even though they acknowledge I have until the 16th. When I can't find answers online, I call and get charged another $20 fee for calling. I can barely understand the Nationstar representative who seems to be following a script that doesn't answer my questions. Payment options are scandalous, in that they force you to pay automatic out of your check account on the 1st of the month, no other date. When I Western Union the money, one of their very few options, they took the house payment out of my checking account 3 weeks in a row and stated they had no obligation to pay bounce fees in my account (luckily, BOA cleared them after I explained what Nationstar said).

When I called to tell them to stop taking out excessive payments, they stated they were going to charge me a fee for calling and correcting the error, and made me contact Western Union to stop payment. Then Western Union said they had to coordinate with Nationstar to verify the payments were excessive. The payment is different every month. I can't understand why, and I can't get it resolved without paying for it. Then, if I want to make a payment by phone, it is 5 days before they can credit me. When I read to them the BOA letter that they were required to honor the terms of the contract, they said that did not apply to their services. When I called to get the payment amount by automated phone line, the payment is less than what is showing on my statement.

It has been an absolute nightmare since BOA switched me to Nationstar. I want to make my payment today, the 15th, but find that no matter what way I pay, I won't be credited for 5 days. This makes it impossible to pay on time. Through the tough economy, I have never been late on a house payment. I pay that before I buy groceries and all other necessities. With Nationstar, however, I am guaranteed to be late because they make sure you cannot get credited in a reasonable time. They are not willing to set up automatic payments except on the 1st of each month. They are not trustworthy to do their Western Union plan (which costs more fees)…scandalous! I never use to worry about my mortgage. Now, I worry and stress about how Nationstar is going to screw me this month. I tried to refinance, but unfortunately, I have always paid my mortgage on time. I’ll make this short. I did not choose them to handle my loan, but it went from bad to worse because Bank of America turned all of their loans over to Nationstar. I set up my payment to go through last Tuesday at 11:30am, but after submitting it, I realized that I was a little short. Oops! I called Nationstar at 11:50am and on two different calls, two different individuals told me that I could cancel the next day and reschedule for next week. No problem. I called the next day and eventually talked to a manager. They were very adamant that I was told the wrong information, and they won’t do anything. I was hung up on. I have never been late on a payment in my life and my credit reflects that, but no one at Nationstar is on the same page. They are beyond unhelpful! They are the rudest people you could ever deal with! They are the kind of people that should never be in customer service. If you are buying a house and Nationstar is handling the loan, walk away immediately!

In 2010, our mortgage was sold to Nationstar from Suntrust. We never had an issue with Suntrust and didn't know why the mortgage was sold to this debt collector when we never made a payment late. We've had nothing but problems with Nationstar since the beginning. We made a payment on time one month... or so we thought. When you make a payment over the phone one time, it keeps your account info and when you call the next time, it will ask if you want to pay using account number such and such, press 1 to use that account or 2 to put in a different account number. So I called to make my payment on time and press 1 to use the same account we always use. Fast forward about 4-5 weeks later, I looked at our bank account and saw that there is more money than there should be in the account. I decided to call Nationstar to confirm our payment had gone through okay since I couldn't figure out why there was extra money in the account.

After being on the phone for about an hour, I spoke to a very rude man who said that we never made the payment. I informed him that I had made it and there had to be a mistake. After a whole lot of arguing, he decided that I had to have put the account number in wrong but I never put the account number in and only pressed 1 to use the same account I always use. He basically told me I was screwed as far as my credit report was concerned because they weren't going to take responsibility for the mistake. After hours on the phone with several people, including a supervisor, they said the only thing I could do was write a letter to the company requesting that they take the late payment off my credit report... Of course, I have not heard anything back about that and it's still on the report as a late payment.

The latest and biggest issue we've had is in trying to refinance. They told us from the beginning that if we wanted to refinance, we would be pre-qualified and would have to do nothing but fill out some paperwork. The only condition was that we had to not have any late payments for 6 months. Because of the mistake mentioned above, we had to wait 6 months from that point. The refinancing process started on March 1st, 2013. We filled out all of the necessary paperwork and were told it would be no problem to have it refinanced. Sometime in April, we received a letter stating they have stopped the process because we requested to "withdraw the application". We NEVER requested such a thing. As far as we know, the process was moving along just fine. I spoke to a lady that was very apologetic for the mistake and assured me she would take care of it and they were moving forward with refinancing. I spoke to the same lady last week and she informed me the paperwork had gone through underwriting and we were just waiting for a closing date.

When I got a letter in the mail from them on Tuesday, I assumed it was to let me know when the closing would be. To my surprise, the letter stated our loan application has been denied! After months of going through this process and several promises that it would be approved with no problem, they have denied our request to refinance. I have made several calls and sent several urgent emails to them to find out WHY they have done this to us. But of course, there has been no response so far. Because our loan payment is so high and we were counting on it being lowered, we now have to sell our home. This company has put us through absolute hell. I don't know how they are still in business or how they haven't been sued for bad business practices. We bought this house in 2007. It is the only house our children have ever lived in and now we have to sell it (and will probably owe them money because it's not worth what it was in 2007, of course).

They have verified my current fire policy issued through Farmers but won't clear my escrow account (which I didn't have before); I'm still being charged. The Payoff was sent via Federal Express on the 31st and signed for shortly after that by Nationstar. On June 12, I was still getting phone calls that my mortgage payment was late. When I called, Nationstar told me that they had no record of my payoff! How is that possible? How can they have my payoff in their office for 10 days and not have any record of it?! The customer service number took 5 minutes to go through their automated system before I even had an option to talk to a human. The supervisor - Morgan - was no help and acted as if they had no obligation to find my payment. This company needs to be shut down. It is terrible and a liability to people's credit scores.

I am very offended by the fact that my mortgage was transferred Bank of America to Nationstar - a debt collector. I'm low risk, never late, never refinanced, and paid on time - always down on a 30-1-arm fixed mortgage - at two years over annual payments. I have a chronic illness, requiring daily treatment with medical instruments in my home. I do not use the phone and I am prevented from using computers due to risk of machine interference. When telephoning Nationstar, after taking hours and constant automatic hang-ups, the reps started out by noting this was a debt, and the communication was being recorded; if I want to make payment, send in by mail or via Western Union. What a disgrace.

I am a homeowner, where BOA gives me full access to its banks, even when I required assistance. I feel consumers have no say-so in how they are treated. We are like blood and can be put into a lottery of investors to pick and choose amongst us as if we are non-human. We need to protest these types of businesses and hold the federal government accountable. This is painful, distracting, and could very much jeopardize our good credit rating. We all need to DO SOMETHING - all of us - as lenders are holding on to all the cash - classifying responsible consumers as risk if they cannot make money off them through late fees and high Annual Percentage Rates. When the laws changed to protect consumers, the creditors and lenders got greedy and nasty and began to find ways to keep consumers from progressing in any way, shape or form.

My mortgage was perfectly fine while I was with BofA. I didn't find out about the loan sellout until November 2012. My daughter went to make my payment at BofA and was told that they no longer have the account in their system. I can't begin to explain what was going through my mind and how upset I was to find out my loan was now sold, again. This makes it the second time since I've bought the house which was purchased in 2009. When I actually found out that the buyer was Nationstar and located in another state (Texas), I was livid. I was a couple of days from making the payment without having to pay a late fee.

When I called and asked how to make a payment without accruing a late fee, I was told that I could make the payment by paying a $15.00 fee over the phone or by Western Union which is $9.95. Fortunately, I did get the payment in on time with $15.00 included. I later learn that Western Union payment does not post to the account the same day it’s sent. The payment has to be processed by the company which could take a couple of days. Unlike some of the other comments posted problems with payments not being posted, I'm thankful I have not experienced that and pray I don't. What I am having a problem with is the increase in my escrow account. I don't understand how my escrow went up when the insurance premium has not changed nor has the homestead tax exemption filed on the property not changed.

When I called to get someone to explain this issue to me, I was given some off the wall story about an audit that was done to force this increase in my escrow balance which shows $346.00 shortage. How could this be when I was not with them to do an audit, I was with BofA? This took my mortgage up $60.00 plus the shortage which was divided up over a 12 month period. Now I'm paying $80-$90 more than what I was paying BofA. I cannot wait to find me someone else to buy out this loan because I cannot see myself paying anymore in the near future without a logical explanation and proof of why they (Nationstar) keep finding unnecessary reasons to increase my mortgage payment.

This is absolutely outrageous and something should be done. That's why I’m going to one of my credit unions to get them to buyout my loan. This may take some time to do, but it will be worth the wait. This mortgage company (Nationstar) should not be in business at all. They are bogus and ripping people off big time. With all these complaints, surely something can be done. This is unbelievable.

Every time I have had to call this mortgage company, it has resulted in the absolute worst service with no answers I have ever seen a company produce. Unfortunately, I was "sold" to Nationstar by Bank of America, and I am not sure I would put one better than the other. I recently sold my home in May, and closed in May, at which time the funds were dispersed and loans paid off. I can't get into the Nationstar account to check escrow balance because they lock you out and tell you to call them. When I call them, the recording says I still owe the June 1 payment. But when I finally talked to a real human with a pulse, they said the account shows paid off May 24.

When I asked about the escrow balance, they said they didn't see any balance. So they transferred me to their escrow department - another recording tour. When I got a real person in the escrow department and went through the whole story again, what was the balance and when could I expect to receive it, his answer was, and I quote, "You have a good question, as I don't see the escrow balance" which by the way is $3,302.02 per my May 2013 statement. Total incompetence at this company, which leads me to believe they have highly paid executives that are also incompetent since the old saying goes, you lead by example. Well management at Nationstar has failed. You can be sure of 3 things in life, death, taxes and absolutely no customer service from Nationstar Mortgage.

I wasn't going to argue with her because she just didn't understand my point. So I told her when she knew what she was talking about, she could call me back and I hung up.

Finally, my husband spoke with someone who stated they could help us but instead of a modification, they suggested a refi which sounded good so my husband said okay. The person said it will be $20 to get it started so we paid the $20 and started the process. Ever since, it has been a nightmare. He said we would not need any out of pocket money. We ended up paying for an appraisal and we ended up paying $800 in bills that they said we had to get rid of before we could get the refi. They stated the only way we could get this refi is if we pay the bill. We stated to him that was our house payment money. He said, “Once you get this paid, we would be closing in February.”

IMMEDIATELY, I've begun steps to refinance taking my loan somewhere else before Nationstar can mess up my excellent mortgage rating. I am nervous about my June payment, but will pay it via Western Union, certificate, register, or whatever it takes so they cannot say I did not pay on time or at all, nor have them try to give me a late fee. If so, I am documenting when I got the first notice of their takeover, which is JUNE 5, 2013; the first time I can set up my payment account with them, which is JUNE 10, 2013; and the grace period, which ends JUNE 17. If they change anything or try to pull a fast one, I will not hesitate to lawyer up.

I'm amazed this company is even permitted to handle mortgages. To BOA's credit, they have always serviced my loan well: never late, never a problem. I just wish my mortgage was not in the group sold this time around. It's worth paying to stay with them and reduce my interest rate too.

It is now 3 weeks since they received the "wrong" check and I was told it would be another 10 WORKING DAYS before a "new" check would be issued.

Every customer "service" representative I've spoken with has either promised to have this resolved within 72 hours and/or would call me when they knew when the issue would be resolved. No one, not even their "supervisor", has called with ANY information.

I was stuck on the phone for almost 15 minutes hearing over and over how important my business is to them, and sorry for the short delay. This is not the first time I've had this problem and was told to have it automatically taken out each month, but I do not want to do it that way. I was also told by a supervisor that there was nothing I could do except to refinance to get away from Nationstar.

I would never recommend Nationstar to even an enemy. I don't think mortgage companies should be debt collectors as well. I do not appreciate being told right off the bat in the conservation that any information I give them will be used to collect the debt and that I am being recorded. I still have never been late one time, but Nationstar sure has tried to collect any extra funds they can.

I advised Nationstar of this but they continue to send me statements etc... How do I stop them from harassing me? The bankruptcy should have taken care of this.

When my loan was transferred from BOA to Nationstar Mortgage, I was very guarded. I was one of the many readers on this site and thought to myself that my experience would be a mess, and that I'd be one of the many hundreds that are in fury. The reason why I am writing is to promote some good news for those that were in my boat and were/are concerned. Sometimes, you have to think outside the box and expect a process to not go according to plan. It took a while for my account to post, but I have to say that when I called to inquire, I always got a voice and there were no long waiting periods or transfers.

I thought like many here that I'd be waiting forever. My loan was transferred this year in April, and I was encouraged to send my payment regardless as the payment would be eventually linked to my account. Now why would I take that chance? Many here did and suffered greatly. Sometimes, we also have to be accountable and not leave everything for a company to handle. I get it, we should be able to. In the case of working with a company with bad reviews, why take the risk? I have yet to set up an auto-debit, which is what I had with BOA. From day one, I waited until my account was active and made a payment via MoneyGram. I decided to go this route because I read (in this thread) horror stories about Nationstar hitting accounts two to three times.

Though it blows my mind that this would happen, I did not want to chance it and still won’t. Granted there is a fee, but I call it a “peace of mind” fee. At least I know the payment was received immediately and applied, plus I have total control of it. Yes, it is a step that no one should have to do, but if you are dealing with an investor with some operational issues, why take the risk and play by their rules? Leave your account info off the site until the dust settles and make changes later. I have been making payments via MoneyGram as I stated and have gotten used to it. I may just leave it as is. I spend more money on Starbucks and D&D daily, not a deal breaker. I would not be so quick to scream fire. Take matters into your own hands, if you can.

I am not discounting other experiences. If you can do something, just do it. Don't wait for the "Aha!" Set up your account online. You don't need to set up the account with your personal banking info, but at least you can view your statements. Don't bother waiting for it and calling to scream. It will come and if it doesn't, take control and pull it yourself. I think by nature we leave a lot for others to do. If your mtg info is that important to you, then just take the steps to get your information without having to make a call Monday morning. The statements are mailed by their back office, not the rep who answers the phone. Calling to say "You people suck" and torture the rep on the phone with attitude and a mouthful of bad words is not going to get you service with a smile.

We are all human and will take offense at some point. Do you really need to go there? Again, I get the mess others are in and I am only putting the message out there for those that are coming in as a new customer, reading the same as I did and placing ourselves in a panic. In the end, I was fine, totally. The difference, I got involved, just enough to not have to spend my day fighting on the phone. I am sure that this investor has operational issues. Take measures to protect your account.

I called Nationstar to cancel my escrow account. They said I could not do this because they did not originate my loan. I did some research to find a statute in Minnesota, which states a mortgagee has the right to discontinue an escrow account if it is a conventional loan and is at least 7 years old. My loan is conventional and it is over 7 years old. I explained the law to Nationstar, but they still refused to cancel my escrow account. I escalated the call to a manager and it was sent to their Research Department. I had to fax them a copy of the statute. If they have a research team, why am I doing all the legwork?

It's been over a month since I made my request and this situation has still not been resolved. I want to cancel my escrow account because Nationstar mistakenly double paid my taxes in April. In Minnesota, taxes are paid in 2 installments (due on May 15 and October 15). Bank of America paid the May taxes in early April. Then the servicing was transferred to Nationstar effective April 5. Nationstar paid the taxes again, but the county has no record of receiving the money. Nationstar claims they wired the money on April 19. So basically, they took the money out of my escrow account and now it's lost. This item is also currently in their Research Department. At this point, I don't trust Nationstar to handle my taxes and insurance. I refuse to let them borrow my money and earn interest on it throughout the year.

My mortgage was sold to Nationstar in March from BOFA, so I understand some months later. I did not receive notification from Nationstar until April 13. The only notification I DID receive, I wasn't able to make payments online with BOFA any longer which was sometime in March? The link to my account in online banking simply disappeared and I was unable to make any payments. Since then, I have contacted BOFA who told me to wait for the "Welcome Package" from Nationstar. By the time this arrived, I was already behind 1 payment. I went online to Nationstar's website and scheduled a payment by ACH since this is the ONLY option.

Suddenly, it seemed as though I was being treated as a delinquent payor? It's confusing and disheartening to say the least. I always made my payment online with BOFA on time or within the grace period. Let me say, the grace period is there for a reason. This shouldn't be used against us. Most of us get paid bi-weekly. It takes more than one paycheck to pay the mortgage. The payment I scheduled in April by ACH never went through. It was reversed by Nationstar, for whatever reason, and I was charged a late fee. I had to take time out to cal them and ask why - very inconvenient. They did apply the payment and reverse the late charge. However, the same thing is happening with May's payment. I scheduled it and it is not applied. ACH doesn't work automatically???

I don't want to make another call. Why should I? I should be able to transfer funds and be done with this. I have spent my entire Saturday (today) trying to set up recurring payments according to my biweekly pay schedule (since that is all they offer). However, since I'm delinquent now because of their inefficiencies, it appears that I am now unable to set up monthly recurring payments. Ugh! It's completely frustrating. My Fannie Mae Loan does not allow me to be 90 days delinquent. I can see how this is a "cash cow" for Nationstar, forcing people to lose their good financing to just simply offer their own financing at a higher rate. Please help.

I will write a check today, and take it to the Post Office here in Downey first thing Monday morning making sure the envelope is postmarked June 3rd, and send it Registered Mail. Someone will hopefully SIGN for it and NOT leave it on a desk somewhere. I will be watching my bank for the check to be POSTED. I will also call Nationstar regarding my Mortgage Payments. Nationstar Mortgage purchased my mortgage in November 2011 from Bank of America. I have been in Chapter 13 bankruptcy since July 2010. Per the Bankruptcy Court ordered plan, BofA, and subsequently Nationstar, were to be paid back two missed payments and lender-purchased hazard insurance (escrow account) by the Court's Trustee in monthly disbursements over the course of five years, and my monthly payments would return to principal and interest only.

However, BofA, and then Nationstar, kept charging me for the same insurance escrow shortage in my monthly mortgage payments; thus, the Banks were receiving payments directly from me, plus payments through my bankruptcy plan -- an illegal practice by the banks known as "double dipping". In October 2011, I purchased my own hazard insurance policy to avoid Nationstar from setting up an escrow account, which would increase my monthly payments even more.

After the transfer of my mortgage to Nationstar, I received an annual escrow statement from BofA proving the bank's violation of the Bankruptcy Court's orders, so I informed my bankruptcy attorney. My attorney sent BofA a qualified written request in February 2012. Four months later, my attorney received a response back from BofA admitting to the illegal escrow charges, and filed an Adversary Proceeding Lawsuit against Nationstar and BofA in June 2012.

In October 2012, BofA and Nationstar's attorney (both banks used the same attorney) requested a settlement offer. My attorney proposed that they forfeit all payment arrears and modify my loan by lowering the principal by $30,000 and the interest rate to 3%. In January 2013, Nationstar refused to take payments over the phone. I knew they had a habit of "losing" checks, so I did electronic bill payment through my checking account (at least that way, I had confirmation of payment received). Then, in April 2013, the two-and-a-half years of over-payments finally drained me to where I couldn't make a payment. In mid-May of 2013, Nationstar informed my attorney that I was five months late in making payments, and would only agree to a settlement where they pay the missed payments and my attorney's fees. By then, I was only behind on two payments (if you consider the 1st of the month the absolute due date), and gave my attorney proof of this, through a phone payment log I kept and the three electronic bill payment confirmations.

My attorney went ahead and accepted the "settlement", advising me that the Bankruptcy Court would look unfavorably on me for not making mortgage payments as per the bankruptcy plan, implying that if I didn't take the settlement and the lawsuit went to Court, I would not win. Even though we had overwhelming proof that BofA and Nationstar broke several Federal and State laws, violated the Court's own orders and resulted in me paying over $3,000 extra to the Banks, the court would find in the Banks' favor. How can that be?

I was behind on the two mortgage payments because the extra charge per month for the illegal escrow over the course of two and a half years had slowly bled me dry. Nationstar knew they could keep overcharging, deny a mortgage modification application, and stall settlement negotiations for as long as necessary in order to force me into a position where I'm the bad guy, and their crimes go unpunished.

Please sign my petition to have them investigated by the Government. I do not want anyone else to be bullied by the Nationstar Foreclosure Industry. Please sign my petition at http://wh.gov/.

I was with BOA in the past. Since late 2011, I was seeking a modification from BOA. I was also challenging their right to collect on this debt. So instantly, on May 2012, my mortgage was turned over to Nationstar. This is where the nightmare begins. BOA said Nationstar was now my mortgage server. I never heard anything from then until August, saying I owed for three months. I again said I was seeking a modification. It took five months, until January 2013, to get Melody to finally approve my modification. The modification was for three months. I paid January and February, and about to make the final payment .

I received a call from Brian who says, "You are not eligible for a modification." I was about to jump through the phone and strangle him. The explanation was so much **. I asked for my money back that I paid. They said they cannot return the money from January and February. Two weeks later, I get served, telling me they are going to foreclose on the home. They started foreclosure proceedings in January, while I was in a modification. I have had six representatives from Nationstar: Melody, Brian **, Ellerbe, and three others. They don't know where the $1,800 is from the two payments. I'm still seeking my $1,800. Now they are making me pay the legal fees on the foreclosure that they prematurely started...

Nationstar has all these different accounts to hide your money. I asked to get a copy of all my transactions, but they said they could not do it. SMH... I'll bet you Nationstar is an affiliate of BOA. There needs to be an investigation. Nationstar is an abusive mortgage server, and they are practicing this abusive behavior. They are participating in shady business practices and unethical behavior. Look up "abusive mortgage servers". Nationstar is doing this. The bad part about this is that our congressional and senate representatives know about this and are doing nothing. This is an unregulated area of banking that is allowed to abuse consumers. I've filed complaints with the FTC and state and federal reps, and nothing has been done. We need a class-action lawsuit!!!

BofA sold my loan to Nationstar a couple of months ago. I received the first payment bill & paid it on the 1st. The grace period is the 1st through the 17th. A few weeks later, I got the bill for the next month but I also got another bill for next month. This 2nd bill states I owe a late fee of $51. I called and was asked to put in my phone number by the computer. I did and was told they were connecting me to the collection dept. WHAT??? I have never been late and have impeccable credit. Next, Luisa (who was nice) said that my loan was sold to Nationstar and I am in the "probationary period". WHAT? I didn't ask for my loan to be sold!!! And I have done nothing wrong to be on probation!

She confirmed they received my payment on the 8th and acknowledged this was during the grace period. But, if I pay during the grace period I may get late notices with fees and to just IGNORE them! WHAT? Just ignore them and let Nationstar accumulate fees to put in their pocket & ruin my credit? I told her that this is harassment and that I am retired and have lots of time to write to everyone about this RIP OFF!! I told her that many people don't question the late fee and will end up being out late fees and double payments. I have no doubt this is their intended plan!

Think about this: You are Nationstar & you buy up loans. Then you harass people when they are in their legal grace period from the very start of acquiring a loan. If they can harass you enough to get you to pay early, they then have multiple millions of dollars for an extra 2 weeks for them to invest. For example, it's like having free money in the bank to earn interest on for 2 weeks a month or 6 out of 12 months. It's not your money but you can earn interest off other people. The strategy is simple; just harass the new customers during the grace period to TRAIN them to pay early so you can use their money! If they can get customers to pay early, they will make millions off investing your money for those 2 weeks. WHAT A SCAM!!!

Luisa then asked if I wanted to speak to a supervisor. I said NO, but I wanted her to write to her supervisor and mail me a copy of the letter. Of course, I got her badge number so we shall see if she follows through and what she says. The first question was to confirm my phone numbers when I called. The 2nd number she read had never been my number. I have no doubt after reading all the above posts they confirm your number from the start so they can harass you later. Okay, I have copy & pasted my report. Now, off to find other sites to lodge my complaint. I encourage you all to do the same. One place is called Rip Off Report & another is the BBB.

My loan went one month behind last year due to unforeseen financial issues. Up until then, I was not late for the five years that I had my mortgage with Nationstar, after my loan was transferred from another mortgage company. I requested a restructure twice and was told I could try, but they doubted it would go through. After living in my home for 47 years, I decided to let them foreclose on my property due to the homeowner's insurance being so high in the state of Florida, and the fact that they would not help me by restructuring the note.

Then on Dec. 23, 2012, my home burned down due to an electrical short. Within two and a half weeks, my insurance company paid off in full on my policy. I called for a final payoff with Nationstar and received it by mail. I mailed them the payoff, the attorney fees for the foreclosure and a note saying to pay off the mortgage and send me my title as soon as possible. That was the third week of January. Then I received a letter and a phone call saying they would be glad to restructure my loan. A little late and I was not interested. On March 6th I received another call saying I owed another $380.00 for fees, but was assured that would take care of the remaining balance and I would be receiving my title soon.

To make a long story short, I called again asking where my title was. I was told my money of $115,000.00 was put in a suspension account. Nothing was ever posted to my mortgage because they needed my signature on a small piece of paper saying the money was intended to pay off my note. Because of moving three times due to the fire, some of my mail may not have reached me, but my phone number is still the same and I did not receive a call from them regarding the issue. It took one employee, who has some brains, all day and he said he experienced the same problems I had in customer service (don't know, not their job, etc). He said he understood my frustration and he attempted to help me.

He found the problem and had to get his boss involved in order to get the money out of the suspension fund and apply it to my loan. I was told it was taken care after he faxed me the necessary form that needed signing, and I faxed it right back within the hour. All of this took place in the middle of March. Then I find that they cannot pay it off because they were saying I owed another $1,400.00 for additional fees and late payments. Finally, the same employee went to his boss and ended up going through a total of 5 bosses to get the fees waived. The loan was considered paid on April 6, 2013. Now we are approaching June, still no title. I was told it was mailed, but the $520.00 check from the money in my escrow is still in processing and I need to call back in another 5 to 7 business days. Something about another $186.00 fee.

I cannot sell my property without the title. I can see they are trying to cheat me out of the remaining money in my escrow account. I spent another one hour lunch break on Friday of last week, spoke to 3 different people telling them the same information only to find out the above regarding my check, which I was told should have been sent out before my title was mailed. It was supposed to have been mailed on May 18th. After reading some of the other stories on these reviews, I know this was not a first time error on their part with my mortgage. It is the way they do business. I would like to know who I can contact with the government that would be in charge of checking into these crooked mortgage companies.

Now I am in a different type of program and they want me to sign a promissory note. What happens when i pay off the promissory note? Will they come after me with more fees? Read all online reviews about this company. It sounds like they will. Why is there not a class action lawsuit against this company? They are fraudulent at best.

I have been working with Nationstar for almost two years (ever since my former mortgage company sold the loan to Nationstar). It was difficult from the beginning, but I am speaking on the phone right now with customer service (48 minutes, 45 seconds). This is my latest concern. In March 2013, I mailed my mortgage payment in ten days before the penalty date. On the due date, I received a call from Nationstar telling me that they did not receive the check. This was on 3/18/2013. I was told to call and cancel the check and to pay over the phone. I did exactly as they instructed. $35.00 fee for check hold from my bank and $15.00 fee for paying over the phone from Nationstar. I did avoid the $80.036 late fee. However, when I got my bank statement, my check had in fact been cashed on the 15th of March. I had double paid, had been charged the above fees and Nationstar did not inform me of the additional payment.

Eventually, Nationstar credited me for the extra payment. My wife convinced me to set up automatic payment with this mortgage company. So now I am attempting to find out why my checking account was accessed two times on 4/3/2013 for the exact amount (my mortgage payment). The customer service rep has continually told me (comically five times) that I must have sent a check. I did not. When I asked to speak to her manager, I was put on hold. After some time, she told me no manager was available; but if I faxed my bank statement to 972-459-1611 proving I did not write a check, they would return the money withdrawn from my account. She assured me they would not double withdraw from my account again.

We are refinancing, not to lower our rates, but to rid ourselves of this company. Because I am upset, I want to mention a scam Nationstar pulled on me last year. Without being told, my statement increased by around $250.00. No explanation. I called, another marathon telephone call, and was told my escrow did not cover the increased taxes and insurance that January. I was some $65.00 short. The rep told me that by law, they had the right to charge me 25% more than what was paid annually, which was reflected in the extra $250 a month!

I was so upset that I paid an additional $2,000.00 just to cover the additional escrow. They mis-allocated the two grand towards principal and continued to charge the inflated escrow fee. It took two months and two phone calls to straighten it out, but I am still charged the outrageous escrow fee. I have literally lost hope of ever getting an answer for the mistakes and overcharges from Nationstar. Where is the regulation? My first time ever writing in to complain.

My first experience with Nationstar was about 3 years ago. I got a letter stating that they were taking over my loan on the first of the month, and it was already the middle of the month. I had sent the payment to the previous servicer already. They told me I would have to pay them again and get my money back from the old servicer. I contacted the old servicer, which said that they had already forwarded my payment to Nationstar. I spent several months trying to straighten that one out. I finally sent a check to avoid late fees.

In the meantime, they claimed that I had not made a second payment. Thinking it had been lost in the mail and not wanting to be 2 months behind, I mailed another payment. I was now 2 months ahead and not receiving credit. I mailed them a letter that I was not making any more payments until I get proper credit. After the next payment was over 30 days, they finally called. We went back and forth with payment dates and amounts, copies of cancelled checks and finally agreed that I had made the payments. I asked for a letter stating that in case I had credit reporting issues. They agreed. Before I got the letter from them, I got one from Roundpoint Mortgage saying they were taking over the loan. The amount they quoted did not include the 2 missing payments. I just quit making payments for over a year and they finally cashed out the loan at a huge discount.

My second experience was with a different loan that I had previously modified before they took it over. When the modification expired, the payment jumped from $650 to $950. I only get $800 rent for this house. I contacted them and told them about it, and told them I needed another modification. They kept threatening to foreclose but didn't. After I was finally contacted by one Sara ** on 12/3/2013, I filled out all the paperwork and emailed it back to her. I later found out that they went ahead and foreclosed on 12/6/2013.

I emailed a complaint. A couple of days later, they contacted me by phone and said that we might still be able to work something out. After emailing information back and forth for several days, a lot of it redundant, I told them I would like to see some progress. I haven't heard from them in several days now. The foreclosure will be final in less than 2 weeks if nothing happens. They will own a house that's only worth half of what I owed.

I decided to look into this company and saw that they are being sued and read the complaints on this site and wondered if Bank of America will not deal with past due mortgage accounts and passes them off to someone else. This doesn't look good.

Several years ago, I signed a Veteran's Deferral of my property taxes. Due to being a veteran's widow and being disabled myself, I was having a hard time making payments. Nationstar hired an outside firm to contact county tax offices and pay all outstanding property taxes. Before I go further, I have documented names and the name of this outside firm. I was never in escrow and signed a waiver when I refinanced with Centex Equity, which later became Nationstar Mortgage, and paid taxes and insurance myself. I had lost my job due to being disabled and signed a Veteran's Deferral Affidavit with my county, which states that my taxes will be paid upon my death or if my property is sold.

This is my first home and I've been here for 30 years. I am in a wheelchair and have home health nurses in weekly to care for me. I was contacted by Nationstar that they had paid the taxes and I needed to pay them back, which was several thousand dollars. I didn't have that money and Nationstar told me to call the county tax appraiser's office. After several months of talking to both, I was able to get the county to return the money to Nationstar. After that, I was paying my normal monthly payment and I thought all was well. In 2011 I received another letter regarding my unpaid taxes and I again contacted Nationstar about this; sending them numerous copies of my Deferral Affidavit to the tax dept, escrow dept and other departments. None of these departments know what the other is doing and upon contact, all they say is they will put in a research and that's the end of it.

I am in the same situation again. They have escalated my mortgage payment 200%, to an amount that I would not be able to pay my other bills including my car payment. My mortgage had been on time every month for several years and I cannot understand why I have to tell so many people my situation. For the age of computers, you would think that my file would be on their computer and they would read it before discussing it with me. That is not the case. I have to repeat myself every time I talk to someone. I had talked to one lady, who stated that she would make a new loan for me. I would not have to pay any late fees and it would include the $8,000+ taxes. My interest rate also would go down. When I called her again, she had been transferred and the man taking her place said she should have said all that.

My situation at this moment is that I stopped paying my mortgage. I am taking a stand with these people. I live on Social Security and a small pension, and they know this. I have not paid my mortgage in 20 months now. I am still fighting and will continue to fight them with all I have. The company computer calls me almost every day, which is documented on my phone. I just hang up. The last letters I received were the same letter - a date a day apart and giving me two different names to contact. What a company! I surely would love a class action suit against them. This has stressed me out for years and I am now 65 years old.

This time, they said expediting would take 48 hours. They told us they changed their policy on Wednesday and were sorry they did not let us know. So waiting at title company, I called again. One individual told us they had already faxed it and had confirmation. Next person told us it had not. A supervisor by the name of Anthony promised us it would be there. I took off work and both jobs require two weeks to get personal day approved. I wonder what Nationstar's policy is. They lied to us multiple times and failed to inform us that we may want to change our close date due to the fact that they were not ready. Everyone showed up but them.

We fell behind on our home loan with BOA. When we called them to see what we could do, they refused to talk to us unless we paid them the $13000 we were behind. Two days later, in the mail, we got a letter from Nationstar saying they acquired the loan from BOA. We thought, "Great, maybe they will be willing to help us modify the loan." Things went great; we sent them all the paperwork they asked for and did everything they wanted. We moved fourty-five miles to get back in the property for the modification. We were then told it was denied because we did not reside on the property. We were told to send in a current copy of all utility bills and our driver's license that show the property as our address.

We informed them it would take a month to get those bills; they said okay, to send them in when we get them and we could start the process all over again. Now nobody in their office returns calls or talks to us other than their automated system that says we need to call. Tonight, we got a letter saying we have thirty days till the house goes to auction and that we declined mediation. The amount we are behind magically jumped up almost 10000 dollars.

Our loan was sold by Bank of America in April to Nationstar. First, we did not receive our welcome letter until well after the due date. I was able to contact the customer service department and make a no-charge telephone payment. That was nice but that's where anything nice ends. Since that time, I have received calls constantly - several times a day every day. I have ignored them because I always make my payment before the late charge date and make them online.

Today, I decided to answer the calls to see why they were still calling as the payment had been made. It was someone from their refinance department trying to get us to refinance our loan. I told her that at this time we were not interested. About 2 hours later, I received another call from Nationstar. I answered it. I am quite sure it was the same girl, only this time she asked only for my husband. I told her he was unavailable but that I was his wife. She again asked if we were interested in refinancing. I told her I had already told a rep a few hours ago that we were not interested. Less than half an hour later, we received a third call, this time from a gentleman again asking us about refinancing. I got a little snippy this time and told him that this was the third call today and "No, we are not interested in refinancing!"

At this point, even if we were, I would not refinance with these people. If this is the kind of harassment we have to look forward to with this company, we will be checking out refinancing, but it will not be with them.

Unlike the many comments I've read here, our story is a bit different. Our first mortgage was originally with Greenpoint before being sold to Nationstar. Our property is an investment property that became vacant last June. We were unable to keep up the payment and finally decided to list it as a short sale. Both our realtor and ourselves contacted Nationstar to advice and coordinate the short sale, and all the necessary paperwork was completed and forwarded to them. The contract with the buyer was also sent for review and acceptance. This was in mid January of 2013. There was no response from them so both our realtor and then ourselves began trying to make contact with their short sale department.

The short story is this: we were bounced around to different departments, told we couldn't be found in the system, and then told all our paperwork and the contract was lost and would have to be submitted again. In the meantime, we were sent a notice that our home was being foreclosed and a trustee sale would take place on July 30th. Presently, we are still trying to contact them, but our realtor has advised us to do what Nationstar calls a Cash for Keys, which is what most lenders call a Deed in Lieu. Our realtor doesn't have a dime on this, and a Deed in Lieu is much like a foreclosure; it stays on your credit report for 7 years.

BOA did not provide us with 30 days written notification as required by law. We received the notification 10 days prior to the transition. We have received nothing from Nationstar. We had no loan number or anything to reference so that our payment would post properly. I contacted them yesterday. First, they could not find us in their system. After 15 minutes of providing them information, they found it. They state that because of the payment structure we had with BOA that we did not have a payment due for May.

I asked if they offered the same options as BOA, and they had a similar option and transferred me to a different department. I spoke with a gentleman named Brian who began asking me very strange questions such as: What was our original loan amount for? What was the weekly amount payable? What was the principal balance? I asked him why he didn't have that information, and he said that he worked in a different department. I asked if he was an employee of Nationstar and he said yes. After giving him some information, he forwarded me some forms to enroll in the Equity Accelerator Program. The domain name provided in the email was from paymap.com. I asked him again if he was an employee of Nationstar, and he replied with yes. I told him that I would not agree to anything and would review the information with my husband. He was rather indignant that I agree to the terms. I hung up.

After discussing the situation with my husband, we started doing some online research and found some pretty astonishing complaints about them and that they are in fact a 3rd party contractor for Nationstar, but not an actual division. It gets better. After reading this, I contacted customer service at Nationstar last night at 7:45pm. I spoke with a gentleman and explained our concerns and how our mortgage situation is unclear. He stated that our welcome packet was mailed out on the 14th. I requested to speak with a supervisor. I was on hold for 48 minutes and when he got back on the line, he said that the supervisor was still assisting another client. He said that the supervisor would call me back last night or first thing this morning. I never got the call back.

I called this morning and the young lady I spoke to ran circles around everything that I was saying. I explained that I even tried to sign up on their website and it did not recognize our information. She didn't even offer to try to help or even suggest trying to connect me with technical support. Folks, there is a serious disconnect here on both parts. BOA and Nationstar are both at fault. If you read all of the comments on here, BOA is selling mortgages at different times, whether it be December, March, April or May. Are they selectively selling mortgages? Nationstar obviously does not have their act together either.

I was assured by the young lady this morning that everything would be fine and that we would not have any issues. I explained to her about the number of complaints posted here as well as what has been posted about paymap.com. I am with the rest of you and the best thing for everyone to do is to find a different lender ASAP! I have already been in touch with our real estate agent to help us. I am going to lodge a complaint with the BBB right away and encourage you all to follow. Hopefully, we will be able to get away from these idiots. Then my Bank of America loan got transferred to Nationstar Mortgage this spring. Now, in just over a month, I've had to deal with them acting like they've received payments only after lengthy delays, a payment placed in suspense where it doesn't get applied toward anything, abysmal customer service where everyone seems to tell me something different, and a horrific payoff system (because I finally decided to use all of my savings just to try to extricate myself from this horrible company) that strings you along as long as possible while they continue to collect interest and try to find ways to charge fees.

Even as I type this, they have more money from me in suspense and in escrow than I owe them on my loan, but somehow the loan remains open and interest continues to accrue. If customers had choices about mortgage companies, Nationstar would close in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, Nationstar can buy loans from other banks without customer approval, then try every sleazy method imaginable to collect fees and extra interest to which they aren't legitimately entitled. I told them that my wife had paid it to Bank of America since we received their statement prior to one from Nationstar. I was asked to arrange for another payment to Nationstar over the phone.

I told them that the payment had been made to Bank of America since we had no idea when the switch was to take effect and assumed it was not for April due to the statement from BOA. I was informed by the caller from Nationstar that the payment was past due. I informed them that we were well within the grace period (it was only the 3rd on April). I was told that actually since the payment is due on the 2nd that the payment was past due. My wife called Nationstar that evening and explained what had happened with that April payment. She was informed to get a copy of the bank statement showing that payment, along with the check number and fax it to Nationstar once the check cleared.

Beginning the next day, I still received daily calls from Nationstar informing me that the April payment had not been received. Even though my wife had talked with them informing them what had happened and had agreed to send them what they required concerning that payment. I was informed that once the 2nd had passed, that their auto dialer system placed calls to any customers who were passed the actual payment date, even if not past or near the grace period. I received these calls daily along with nearly daily noticed through the mail.

My wife has since sent the required documentation to Nationstar for the April payment. Once May 3rd arrived, I began getting daily calls about the May payment, even though we are well within the grace period along with nearly daily mailed notices. My mortgage too was sold to Nationstar. From the first month, they were calling me between the due date (1st) and the late date (16th). Talk about harassing? Same this month. Why can't we all get an attorney to sue them as a class action? They call during the week, on Sundays, after they are told not to call which they are supposed to respect and not call. And their online fees? Who the hell uses Western Union to take an online payment? They charge fees where BOA didn't. I'm refinancing as soon as I get a lender to take me on. Nationstar has no class, no respect and doesn't deserve to service our paper. How does one start a class action suit?

I have called them every day for a week but was told their system was down, or they could not help me until the information was loaded into the system. Customer service told me to wait until I received information in the mail. This is truly upsetting considering I am a person that pays my bills timely and I am quite upset at the possibility of being late on my mortgage. I have been told that I will not be charged a late fee due to their system issues but that will remain to be seen. I am upset that a professional organization does not conduct themselves in a more professional manner considering they are messing with people's credit and their homes.

My mortgage was sold from BOA to Nationstar in December. I have to say I was pretty excited about that. Wrong! The letter stated that all loan needs after 12/3/2012 would be serviced by Nationstar, so I sent my December payment to BOA. After receiving my welcome packet from Nationstar days before January 1, I sent my January payment. A few weeks later, I received calls asking where my January payment was. I reminded them of my 12/31/2012 payment. They said that was December's payment. I went on to tell them that I made my December payment to BOA as it was prior to 12/3/2012. They said BOA shows no record of that payment. The nice gentleman opens a research request for me, tells me this has happened a lot and sends me on my way.

A few days later, I received an email asking for a bank statement and a front and back copy of the cashed check or the electronic submission confirmation from my bank. Seems reasonable so I sent both. Never heard anything for a month, yet still getting calls as if my payments are late even though they are on time. It got to the point in February where I was speaking to someone who could do nothing for me for about 45 minutes at least twice a week. Then I get another email from the research department asking for the cancelled check. Mind you, the research department has no phone number or email. They can only be reached by fax and customer service has no idea how to even reach this department. I started to wise up and correspond via fax that there was no check, so I could not give them one. But that I sent them the electronic submission confirmation that states paid.

A week later, nothing but more harassing phone calls. I finally emailed Consumer Affairs and immediately the research department sent me a message that if I go to my bank and get a bank officer to sign a bank letterhead paper stating that Bank of America cashed the check, we can proceed. I went to the bank. They laughed at me. They told me all they could offer me was everything I had already sent them. It wouldn't say paid if the payment wasn't accepted. And unless they went through legal, they can't sign their name to anything that is not bank official.

So that's that. I'm at a loss. My last ditch effort was to send a final fax stating that if that was not a ridiculous request, that they could send me on Nationstar letterhead a statement that BOA provided more proof than my bank statement and submission confirmation, that my payment was never made, and that I need it signed by a manager with a direct line to reach them. I guess I'm just waiting now before I proceed with the BBB and AG office.

My loan was acquired by Nationstar in late 2009/early 2010. While I was not happy about this, there was little to nothing that I felt I could do about it. While I have been a customer w/ Nationstar, I have made all of my monthly payments on time. This past September, I accidentally typed in the wrong amount for Bill Pay, coming from my checking account and was short about $100.

I recently pulled my credit report and saw that Nationstar reported me 30 days late for September, even though I had made my payment - in September. I contacted their Customer Relations department (what a joke) to be informed that if I submitted a letter of explanation with a copy of the three credit bureaus showing for this month that I was reported late, my request would be taken under consideration and it could be waived.

After almost three weeks of not hearing anything, I called them to follow up and was told, again by their CR dept., that Nationstar does not waive negative reports submitted to bureaus and even though I had made all of my mortgage payment but the $100 they did not process my payment until October when the difference was paid. So whether the account was $5 or $100+ off, if full payment is not received, I am assessed a late fee and reported to all three bureaus.

Wow! Again, I admit my wrong by typing the incorrect amount but when looking at my history and how much I have paid, $100 is only pennies to both them and me. In addition, if there was no consideration b/c the full payment was not received, why was I informed by the initial representative that it would be? Is this how good, hardworking and honest customers are valued and treated by Nationstar? One very innocent mistake and Nationstar will give the decree of - Off with your head?!

While my mortgage was indeed paid in the month of September, Nationstar elected to sit on it and not apply the funds to the account until October. Why? Because of a measly $100 mistake, now I pay the price long term with my credit score. Nationstar is not an ethical company and couldn't care less about their customers! Nationstar's focus is not customer service but that of customer punishment. If considering them for a loan, buyer be aware!

My first experience with this reassignment of loan to Nationstar started when I received a statement of delinquent taxes from my village. Our mortgage payment contains an escrow payment which goes toward paying the village taxes. I expected a smooth transition from what Bank of America communicated to us and a promise of no-change. Nationstar already told me that by policy, they deemed insufficient the escrow payment previously in place with BofA. Why? Well, because they say so and they have every right to do so, said their staff. Getting through to speak to someone is very frustrating.

Their website shows us having to pay a different amount than what we've paid so far. They say their records are not yet up-to-date, after 2 months! On their papers, Nationstar writes they are also a collection agency.Where have we landed? Are we now in the hands of predatory mortgage processors? Mortgage was with Bank of America and recently changed to Nationstar. I was told to send payments to them after April 1, 2013. Behind the scenes, they arbitrarily increased my mortgage amount by $5 which caused a past due balance. To be fair, they did not charge me a late fee, but when I called, they could not justify the reason for the $5 increase - they also told me the escrow review calculation was not done yet, so that is not the reason. FYI, it was absolute hell getting through their automated phone system to get to a live person, plus the wait - it took me 15 minutes. Hitting zero did not work either.

My gut tells me it is a "ploy" to capitalize on people who are a bit sloppy with their bill paying and may not notice or pay attention to the $5 past due. I can guarantee the next month though the late fee will hit them. I caught it early and got it resolved, but based on other complaints I read, this seems to be a trick they do to generate revenue via late fees. They told me I will not get a credit ding because of this BS, but it will get ugly if I do.

My mortgage has now changed servicers 4 times and now I, like everyone, else appear to have landed in the hands of a company I don't want to do business with. We received a ratified purchase contract from Nationstar on 11 March 13 after a minor bidding war. I have excellent credit, sufficient income, and residual VA loan entitlement. Nationstar owns the foreclosed property we are buying, and offered 3% towards closing, but only if we used them as our lender - big mistake! The contract closing date was "on or before" 10 May 13 (60 days). From day one, the loan originator was unresponsive to my realtor. Not just a little unresponsive, we are talking communication blackout! So I had to attempt to communicate with them on my own. I haven't gotten too much farther. Voice mail messages and phone calls were completely ignored and emails often went days/weeks without replies.

Their voice mail recordings and emails instruct you to contact their managers for immediate assistance with pressing matters. I have emailed or called and left messages with managers in both the origination department and the processing department no less than 30 separate times, with no reply in almost 56 days (and counting). I'm not even sure they exist. I was pressing the originator from the beginning for an earlier closing date to lessen the hardship on my family. They told me that the VA appraisal process was usually the culprit for late/delayed closings, and if the VA appraised the property in a timely manner, we could potentially close as early as April 29th.

The VA appraisal was completed on 20 March 13; so the 29 April closing date looked promising right!? Wrong! It took approximately 25 days from the date of the VA appraisal for Nationstar to email me the preliminary mortgage application documents, most of which I had already completed online many weeks earlier. I returned the package within 24 hrs. After almost 2 more weeks of unresponsiveness from the originator, I was able to solicit the contact information for the loan processor from him. Despite numerous emails and phone calls for status updates, I got limited or no response from either the processor or her management.

When the processor finally did respond a few days before the 29th, it was to inform me that the loan was rejected by underwriting because I was not eligible for VA benefits due to the fact that I already owned a VA backed property in another state. I had to reeducate her on VA eligibility and county loan limits. Additionally, I had to contact the VA regional service center and literally arrange a one-on-one conversation between the processor and the VA rep so the VA could explain the second tier benefit process to them - information they should already know!! When is it ever okay for a customer to have to educate a lender on facets of the banking industry? Don't answer that. Needless to say, April 29th has come and gone.

The loan is now back in underwriting after the VA debacle. It is now 7 May (3 days before closing) and I still do not have an approved loan. I left another message with the processor's management today. Her voice mail said she would respond within 24 hrs. That's what it said 30+ days ago as well. I'm spent. With no end in sight, I write this and hope I can spare someone the frustration I've endured and continue to endure. If you have a choice and one of them is Nationstar, choose the other one!

And worse than that, they are forcing me to do things their way and I can't. It's too late. I can't go back in time and inspect the money I've already spent on repairing the house. I can't use the contractors they are demanding as I've already started. So basically, they are saying that I can't have the rest of the money to finish repairs because I haven't given them contracts and copies of contractor licenses, etc. I'm not a licensed contractor, but I can repair my house and I have been doing that because the insurance wouldn't pay for all the damage. So in order to fully restore it, I had to cut labor costs and do some of it myself.

They say they don't allow it, but I didn't know that because I didn't pick them. I was using the other bank's policy which does allow that as long as I prove I'm doing the work. So Nationstar is now saying even if they send an inspector and he says the work is 90% done, they won't release the rest of the funds because I didn't send them a contractor contract, license and all that stuff. They want to charge me for their own demanded inspection too. Bank of America never charged me for those inspections. They are making interest off the insurance money they got and now they refuse to let me have it ever. Now I can't finish my house.

All this time I am paying off my mortgage on time. It is at a high interest rate and it is on a house that isn't worth anything. I can't live in it due to the damage and I am stuck with no recourse. They should be honoring the deal I had with Bank of America. They should not be allowed to do this. It's not right.

The mortgage payment was more than I even made. Their solution was to lower the rate. My spouse of 33 years had just died. I had an irrevocable power of place, to which they decline to acknowledge, or do anything besides foreclose on my property. This home was my husband’s and my retirement home. It had no mortgage. They have set 3 appointments with me where no one showed up, and I was not notified that the appointments had been cancelled. When I have tried to contact them, it has been difficult and sometimes impossible to get in contact with them. No one has bothered to explain why my process has been held up, and I have even had to start part of the paperwork over again. The reason I started with them in the first place is because they already owned my mortgage.

I'm sorry for those of you that could only refinance through this company and sincerely hope you have been treated better than I have. I have started the process over with a company called Zeus and actually got a much better rate than Nationstar had given me! I have also been treated much better and have had everything explained to me quite thoroughly. My advice is to stay away from Nationstar. Their poor customer service and communication is just the start of the unorganization that goes up even through their management and administrative staff.

What mortgage company does that? Then the packet doesn't tell what the money is for. Hmmm. Then the loan is for one year and interest only. I'm thinking, "Do I pay or walk away?" Still have not received the welcome package and it is almost May 2013 - 2 months later. Then I wanted to refinance from a 6.56 interest rate. After talking to their professional loan rep, who told me my total out of pocket costs would only be $20.00, she mailed me a packet showing closing of costs over $3,500. I wanted a 15-year fixed and they would only quote me over a 30-year interest rate for a 15-year loan. Told me I should be happy since it would lower my existing rate regardless.

Rate for a 15-year should have been 2.5% at the time. They would only give me a 15-year loan at 3.75% - APR 4%. Closing costs were over $3,500. I called and asked her why I was not being charged a higher rate and exorbitant closing costs, and for their loan rep to please put her reasons in writing so I could better understand. She refused. I sent a letter of complaint to Nationstar and to this day I have had no response. They sent me a letter telling me I had 2 weeks to accept their refinance terms or they were closing my file. For all of you that have recently had your loan servicing rights transferred to Nationstar, I suggest you begin the refinance process ASAP. Nationstar is a shady, deceitful company and will employ deviant tactics to make you appear as if you're behind on your mortgage. They are a predatory lender and they make their money off of foreclosing on your home. I took out a conventional mortgage and put 20% down when I purchased. I've had my home for 4 years. My loan servicing rights were transferred to Nationstar after a year and that's when all the trouble began.

Mind you, I was never behind on my mortgage and never once paid a day late. My payment was always due the first of the month and I never paid later than the first - 90% of the time it was earlier. Since I had put 20% down, I did not need an escrow account. I always paid my taxes and insurance on my own, and never fell behind. There was never a lapse in coverage and property taxes were never late. I always provided them with proof of coverage as requested and have Nationstar on file as the lender of record with my insurance agent (which doesn't matter legally because your insurance agent will always add ISAOA, which means "its successors and/or assigns") since mortgages are transferred all the time.

Bottom line, 3 months after my loan was transferred to them and after providing them with my proof of coverage 3 times, they proceeded to open another homeowner's policy on my behalf. Then they increased my mortgage payment by $400+/month (yes, the policy they added was 3+ times what I paid on my own). I refused to pay the additional escrow amount they added because I had already paid my insurance and taxes on my own. Then they started to say I was late on my payments because I wasn't making a full payment. They added late fees, put negative marks on my credit and didn't apply payments (holding them in suspense accounts).

To make a long story short, I spent 6 months writing letters the Better Business Bureau, the Attorney General, and the State Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs. I finally got everything resolved about a year ago. Then three months later, they started right where they left off with the same bag of tricks. This time I spent the same 6 months writing letters to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the Attorney General, and the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs. But since I knew they would never stop trying to take my home, I decided to refinance in January. Since I was diligent in dealing with this company, I was able to maintain and protect my good credit. Don't let them get you backed into a corner. If they get you to where they've dinged your credit, you won't be able to refinance. They know this. And they will do anything possible to put you there.

Don't wait until it's too late. Get away from these scam artists ASAP. It did cost me money in the end since I had to pay closing costs for the refi, which I feel Nationstar should have to pay since it was their negligence that forced me to refinance, but either way at least I don't have to worry about losing my home (at least until my servicing rights get transferred back to them again. Knock on wood!). I would love to see a lawsuit brought against this company. Good luck to those of you who recently inherited this mess!

Being a Nationstar customer, my humble advice is, please, please think again if you are moving or planning to move to Nationstar (and if they are offering 0% interest rate, it's up to you). I setup the online ACH payment for my mortgage and the next day, I got a call from Nationstar saying my mortgage is due. I told the agent that I already set it up to pay online and he insisted, "Pay by phone." Then I asked the agent if that would end up in a double payment. He assured me that wouldn't happen and that was on a Friday. The following Monday, I realized that my concern was real and they charged twice. The story began now.

I called customer service (the customer service by phone really sucks). After hours and hours of trying, I got a human at the other end and explained the situation that Nationstar charged my checking acct. twice and hence my checking acct. was negative and they were charging $35 for each bounced check as well as scheduled bill payments. He asked me to wait and I waited and waited. That was it. He was gone. I called again and after many trials, I got another lady and explained from scratch and she asked me to send a signed letter explaining the situation, bank statements, etc., to a fax number and she told me that it would take a week.

After the call, only then did I realize that I already wrote many checks before all this happened and they might come for collection. So I called again and asked for a turnaround time. The lady said that it'll be 3 days. After the 4th day and with no sign of my money back in my checking acct., I called them again to find a status and now they are saying it will take 10+ days. I literally don't know what to do as my next pay check will arrive only after 2 weeks, in order to make my checking acct. to a positive balance. I'm still waiting for those guys. I'm not asking for their mercy. Rather, I'm asking just my money back that they charged twice falsely. So, it's your turn to decide whether to go with Nationstar or a bank with higher interest rate (I'd go with the latter).

I said, “One or few numbers can be wrong, but this is a disaster.” She told me that I have an accent and she can't understand well and I said, “Can I talk to someone else?” She said, “I will cancel the application,” and told me to find another lender and hung up. FYI, under the Harp program, you only can use your lender, so take it or leave it. Clearly discrimination! Anyone can help?

Nationstar Mtg. sent a letter saying I was eligible for refinance. Then I wasn't. Then I was told in August of 2012 that I am again, eligible, that my application was processed. I was continually contacted for information for my refinance application from September through November. Then I was told in December that a subordination was ordered. Then my loan got transferred to another loan processor who had to start all over again to order another subordination again. He requested all my loan information again, which would take another 3 to 4 weeks.

I was contacted back in March that my subordination was received and my file was going to the Underwriter for approval so that I would close in the next few weeks. Then I received an email saying that I have to start my loan application all over again and that they would just transfer all the information just ordered on my loan over to the new loan and also asked for updated information for the loan and that it has been transferred to the Underwriter as of 04/05/13.

Today, 4/16/13, I get a phone call from Dan with Nationstar saying that my loan has now been transferred to him and that he'll be processing my loan, from now through the duration of closing, and that he is ordering another subordination to submit my loan to the Underwriter. (Why is another subordination being ordered when they just received the information in March?)

I have been waiting to close since October of 2012. With all these different excuses and loan processor transfers, is this a scam or what? So now I have to wait for another 6 months to start all over again. They leave a phone number for you to contact Nationstar Mtg., for an update/status, and you get totally different information on your status than what you were told.

To all Bank of America customers whose servicing rights were sold to Nationstar. As you most likely did not receive any "Welcome Packet" from Nationstar, you should know that it is possible to log into the Nationstar website with your BOA account number (as of the date of this writing). On the Nationstar website, click on the "Sign up or Sign in" button. On the next page, click the Sign Up button. On the following page, at the top you can enter your NS number or your old BOA account number. Be sure you enter the last 4 digits of the BOA Primary borrower. This should allow you to log in and view your account and make payments.

I don't have the time to list the issues I've had in a very long 16 days with this company as it serves no purpose. My house is an investment and I treat it as such. Nationstar does not understand how to service that investment, so I am taking my business elsewhere. I would suggest others do the same. I hope this helps some of you.

We had a 2-year modification before and after that, our payment went to 1000 dollars per month. This was in October of last year. We were asked to send in papers of all our bills and we did. They asked us to contact them every week to find out about the mod. They told us the same thing every time. We complied with that. After 4 months, they tell us we were not approved for the mod. Meanwhile our payments were adding up. Now they tell us we have to send in over 7 thousand dollars to get caught up. We are devastated by this. We have been in our home over 20 years. How can people be so heartless?

This is the worst company to ever deal with! I tried to refinance with them being that BOA sold our loan to them (still to this date, we have not received a welcome packet with our loan number or where to send my mortgage payments). I filed the application, paid the fee for the credit report, but they never followed through with anything I was told on the phone. I received the packet in the mail and never received the emails she told me I would receive. I called them numerous times on questions on the packet, emailed them numerous times and to my surprise, there were no returned calls or emails. Today, I received a letter of confirmation of withdrawal. I called to speak with them regarding this and was told I needed to apply for a new loan and still pay another credit report fee and was told, "Yes, I understand your credit score will go down due to us running your credit again." This is a fly-by-night company and I have no clue how they can still be in business, but I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau due to all this.

Not me! I have tried, unsuccessfully, to reach a person at Nationstar since Friday. Since I don't have new loan number, I cannot get through. In past experiences, new company kept the old number on their rolls along with new number, no doubt for the purpose of being able to get through to customer service. I would like to know when payment is due and if there will be a fee since I am going to mail today. I was about to wait as long of the 16th of each month at Bank of America and also appreciated that I was able to talk to someone at one of their branches whenever I needed to.

This is probably the worst, most customer unfriendly, incompetent company I have ever had to work with. In addition to regular mortgage payments, I have sent in three clearly marked principal only payments. Each additional principal payment has never been properly credited to our account. Each time I have called, it is impossible to get to a live representative. Always receiving a long string of "push this for that" directives, there is never an option to talk with a representative. The one time I did click through a mirage of buttons, I reached a recording that said all representatives are busy, call later and was disconnected.

I'm working to pay off this mortgage this year and will never use Nationstar. Ever!

In Dec '12, my loan was transferred to Nationstar. That’s when the nightmare began. BOA had placed me in foreclosure and I paid all fees and monies due in 2 weeks to get out. The same week was when my loan was transferred. Nationstar repeatedly called for past due fees to be paid. I set up a conference call with BOA and Nationstar so BOA could tell them all fees were paid and I was current, and BOA had sent all monies due to Nationstar. Now in March, I received a $445 fee for legal fees due to a foreclosure. And they are claiming that they never received a paid in full letter from BOA, and the rep I spoke with said he can’t comment on a call he was not a party to.

Also, I have received two $12 inspection fees so far since April. They say they are allowed to charge these fees per terms of the loan. But in 4 years, BOA never charged me for these fees. No one can actually tell me what these fees are for, or how they are inspecting the property. Also, every time you call, you get someone new. They don't enter notes in your file so you have to explain everything again and then wait for a call that you never get. Join Nationstar Sucks on Facebook.

I too had a similar experience as a recently placed review/complaint. I had mortgage with Bank of America. About second week of March 2013, I received a farewell letter from Bank of America. In the packet, there was an address to send payment to Nationstar for April 2013. At end of March 2013, when I did my online payment for bills for April 2013, I still had not received Nationstar's welcome packet; thus, I did not have a new loan number. About the last day of March 2013, I received the welcome packet. I went back into bank online payment to set payee for Nationstar with the new loan number, new address (PO box) and set payment. It went out on April 2, 2013 and it cleared.

A few days later, I set up to log in to Nationstar and saw it hadn't been received. Just recently I realized on April 10 that it had been returned to my checking account. Now I had to use one of Nationstar's billing methods - none of which I agree with. They all have a fee. I chose Western Union Speedpay. They charged me a fee of $9.95. I have been paying a mortgage since 1980's and have never had to pay a fee to send in a loan payment. Nationstar sets program that if it is sent on or after the 10th day of each month, the owner is forced to pay a service fee (online). I think they will only accept online payments (from banks also) for the first nine days with no fee. This is in conflict with the fact that there is a 16-day grace period. Also, I have sent at least 2 within Nationstar's contact us messages and have not heard back.

I agree with what a previous person said. It is as if Nationstar wants us to miss a month's payment/default. I too have never ever been late on a mortgage payment. I have never had to try two times to send in one payment. I would very much appreciate it if some agency would explore Nationstar to see why they sent out welcome packets so late (received them when payment was due) and why they charge for online payments on the 10th day on, when we have 16 days for grace period.

Why are so many of us, customers, unhappy? It seems like the only people we can call and talk to is customer service. I have never in the past used Western Union Speedpay for a bill. I only do bills online with online banking. It seems really odd to me to expect people to pay through Western Union and MoneyGram. Those are the choices or by phone (with a fee, of course). Then there is regular mail. This is the first time to have such a rough start with a mortgage company.

My loan servicer was transferred/sold from BOA to Nationstar Mortgage as of April 1, 2013. I was informed of the transfer through a goodbye letter from BOA 3 weeks prior to the transfer. The letter stated that I will receive further communication from the new servicer including my new loan/account number. What a fraud. My payment is due and I have received nothing. No correspondence from the new servicer. I do not know my new loan #. There is no physical location anywhere to go make a direct payment, and on top of that, I tried calling and they are closed on Saturdays. No correspondence. This is very deceitful in my opinion. I have never missed a mortgage payment and this experience as well as all other complaints I read above seem to indicate that they are working hard to make you default or have a late payment. This is absolutely unacceptable behavior. I cannot believe that with the amount of complaints against this company's business practices, nothing is being done to correct or slap their hand.

In February 2013, we were seven years into our Countrywide / Bank of America mortgage. We paid online every month. We were never late and we had never applied for any loan refinancing or modification. When we received our "Dear John" letter from Bank of America, I was insulted, but only slightly concerned about being transferred to a new mortgage servicer. After waiting for, but never receiving, the elusive "welcome" package from Nationstar, we mailed a cashier's check for our April payment to Nationstar on April 2nd. While waiting for our payment to arrive, I decided to do some research about our new mortgage company. After reading negative review upon negative review online, I began to worry. My husband made two calls to Nationstar, talked to two polite customer service reps, and our payment finally posted to our account this morning (Saturday, April 13). We set up an online account after our first call to Nationstar, and all the information posted online is accurate.

So far, everything has gone fairly smoothly, if not quickly with Nationstar. I will be keeping careful records of all future dealings, though.

In May of 2012, after begging and pleading with my then lender Aurora loan service, I was told I had gotten a loan mod after 11 months. I was told my new payment and loan terms. While I wait for documents to come, my loan was sold to Nationstar. I was told not to worry as Nationstar would complete the process. Well Nationstar made me start all over again and has denied me 6 times since July of 2012. I am now about to be foreclosed on. They are rude. I have had 7 point of contacts, who will not answer emails, voicemails or faxed request. I have filed complaints that never get resolved, only swept under the rug. I have proof that Aurora offered and I accepted the loan mod from the CFPB. They still will not do anything.

These lenders are not even afraid of the US government. They get triple A ratings from the BBB and all they have to do is answer the complaint, not resolve it. The have, at last check, over 450 consumer complaints. But hold on, the worst is when I said I was interested in the deed in program, I received 5 calls in 2 days. Interesting don't you think?

We purchased our home through Countrywide Mortgage in 2006. After the first couple of years, the loan was sold to Bank of America. I was apprehensive, but that transition was seamless and Bank of America was always helpful if I had to contact them. We have a 30-year fixed loan but have been sending extra payments (four times amount due) and were on track to pay the mortgage off in five years or less. I sent them a payment on March 15, 2013 and received a letter in the mail the next day that our mortgage had been sold to Nationstar.

I tried calling Nationstar but after 20 minutes of trying could not find my way to a real person on their automated phone system. The letter received on March 16 said we would be getting a welcome packet from Nationstar. I received a mail from Nationstar three times over the next week but none of it was the promised welcome packet and none of it provided our new loan number. Without the new loan number, I couldn't make the payment which was due on April 1, so I tried again to call them. After 45 minutes, I was finally able to reach a real person. She said not to worry, the payment wasn't actually late until the 16th, but I would receive courtesy calls daily if it was not received by the 1st. Daily?

It was too late to get a payment in the mail that day, so I mailed a payment on April 2 (just the amount due) and sure enough, on April 5th, I received one of their courtesy calls. When I answered, it was a machine telling me to call Nationstar immediately about my account. No other information. My payment had been mailed on April 2 so I didn't worry about it. I checked my own bank account today (April 12) and my check to Nationstar cleared on April 9, long before the April 16 deadline to be considered on time. But when I got home, my statement was in my mailbox and showed that my April payment was past due and I owed two months on May 1st.

I called them and after 20 minutes of dealing with their automated system, finally got to a real person. She has apologized for that being on my statement said it should not have been on there but said don't worry about it. She showed that my April payment was credited to my account. So far, everything I've experienced with this company has been totally screwed up, so them telling me don't worry about it for the umpteenth time is not very reassuring. We are in the process of trying to refinance with another company. At this point, any company would be preferable to Nationstar.
