BOA sold our loan to these criminals in June of 2013, and it’s been nothing but a nightmare since! Missing mortgage payments, late fees, higher pay-off balance, holding payments to collect late fees, credit ruined, and NO ONE WILL HELP! When you call these people they laugh at you, insult you, and treat you like dirt. No one in this company knows anything. When BOA sold the mortgage, surprise!!!!!!!! Our escrow suddenly came up missing and gee no one knows where it went! Over $1000.00 in our escrow account is gone and now we are neg. for escrow.

When I called Nationstar they just said it’s not their problem. Writing my mortgage payment to these people every month actually makes me sick to my stomach because we don’t know what we are facing each month. Thank you BOA for selling our loyal mortgage after 10 years (with no warning). And thank you Nationstar for ruining our lives! Someone needs to stop this company. You would think with literally thousands of complaints for the same thing someone would say "Hey this is mortgage fraud and this company needs to be stopped!" Meanwhile, we just keep getting screwed by NATIONSTAR MORTGAGE!

Like many others, my BOA mortgage was transferred to Nationstar. To say Nationstar has poor customer service is an understatement. It's surprising they're still in business. Trying to make my payment online, the Nationstar website didn't acknowledge my online entry. I waited a few minutes and rechecked pending payments... still nothing. So, thinking I had not entered the transaction correctly, I entered it again (my bad). But, still nothing. A week later my bank tells me I'm overdrawn from a double payment. When I went to the Nationstar website there was NO payment listed even then! Then the fun of trying to get someone in the company.

The first customer rep told me there were known problems with the website. Assured me he would fix it "as soon as you hang up". Three phone calls, twelve hours later and having to make a request to speak to an American (which I've never done before), the customer service rep assured me that the funds would be back in my bank account within 2-3 days. When I asked why so long for an electronic funds transfer he told me it wouldn't have been had I talked to them sooner!!! When I checked the website the following day... the payment was finally listed AND the reversal of funds was listed for that same day. Not the reality of two days later.

I waited a full week waiting for the reverse transfer. But nothing. I had to call them again (by the way, their phone tree is 3 minutes and 45 seconds long until you get the right option). The rep then tells me that a check was mailed and "what do you expect me to do about it". I got transferred around and the supervisor who finally came on the phone told me that it was too difficult to do an electronic transfer. Meanwhile, TD Bank very graciously refunded all of my overdraft fees except for the initial $140.

Today I received a call from their CORPORATE customer service rep. She said that there was no fault with Nationstar and it was ALL my fault. They took absolutely no responsibility. And no, they would not refund my $140. She also said that the reps I talked to should NOT have told me the funds would be transferred electronically because they have no way of knowing that. Really? Are you serious? If they have no knowledge of how things work how can they provide customer service?!? They should've saved their corporate customer service call. They've only made a bad situation ten times worse. And solidified my opinion that I should refinance just to save myself from them. Horrible customer service and treatment. This company is a nightmare. Stay far, far away!!!

Nationstar Escrow Dept continues to take money for insurance they have not paid and allowed to lapse. They actually apologized. But, they are still taking my money and not paying the insurance. According to them, I need to send a completed form. But they will not send me the form. If this isn't fraud, what is?

I was told exact amount payment to make. I did so and then get a letter stating that I am late on payments and the payment cannot be accepted. The reason explained is that the amount I paid is 53 cents short. I made sure that the cashier’s check I had made out was a dollar over. Are you kidding me? The amount I paid is said to be held in probate until a full payment for next month is made in full by the 15th. How can this be legal? Can they just make up their own rules? I see this company as a cooked as they come. I would not trust them and I am going to get out of this contract as soon as I can. BOA sold my loan contract over to them. BOA was not much better.

All you have to do is google this company to find out what is happening, and not being addressed in the housing industry. HAMP is a joke... Nationstar is dangerous!!

This company has committed FRAUD against thousands of homeowners, including myself... and everyone is correct... nothing is being done about it. Even the local senators and reps, although repeatedly hammered with requests for help, have done absolutely nothing!! Including my own senator Nelson, and Rep. Rooney here in Charlotte County, Florida. The rate of ILLEGAL foreclosures here is astounding!

I have been doing battle with this company for nearly 3 years. CitiMortgage, my lender, sold me down the river to Fannie and Freddie, when I asked for a "MODIFICATION on my loan... not because we were having trouble paying. We had NEVER been late on a payment! Like everyone else, we wanted to lower our payments. This was the beginning of an eye-opening experience as to how these companies operate without being held accountable. Where is congress?? Out to lunch, as usual.

My story is long and unfathomable... like a lot of Nationstar nightmares!! WE NEED TO BAND TOGETHER AND GO AFTER THEM!!! I am going to sue these rats for $10 million for pain, suffering, harassment, liable, and FRAUD. They destroyed my marriage and made me sick. Their Compliance Specialist, Lauren **, is not only incompetent, but she lies!! Anthony Barone, the CEO, made millions after telling his people to sell mortgages to anything that breathes. Then the king of the rats, went to WALL STREET and put his money on FAILED MORTGAGES... and that is a fact!

Again, where are the politicians that WE ELECT to protect the country from these terrorists... and they are, in every sense of the word!!! Oh yes, we forgot, they all play golf together... and they scratch each other's backs... and can't hold office if CORPORATE AMERICA doesn't like you!! So, they LOOK the other way.

Send everything you have on this company to HUD...Rita Thomas and Shawn Donovan's offices. Then send everything you have to the White House fax number. Hound your senator. Send everything (hope you are keeping impeccable records!) to the FBI and Treasury departments. Find an attorney that has the... to take them on... on a contingency basis of course. Sue, sue, sue!!! The FBI assigned an agent to me. Talk to your local FBI office!!

Whatever you do, don't give up...60 Minutes, Time magazine, 20/20, send them your story. If they hear from enough of us, just maybe we can get them to listen. MOST IMPORTANT... THEY ARE NOTORIOUS FOR ILLEGAL FORECLOSURE PAPERS... NO PROMISSORY NOTES. Go to your county records. Find out who else in your community is dealing with this company. HAVE A MEETING!! *My neighbor left his home. Nationstar foreclosed on them... using "rocket dockets". 2 yrs later, they find out they did not have to go... and now, the home is resold... and the big bad wolf made even more money!! Sickening. I am now asking the law firm of Morgan & Morgan to represent us in a class action suit... Please, fight back. Kudos to Keith Carbaniss who sued these creeps and won!!!

My fiance had an initial loan with Countrywide, which was sold to Bank of America several years ago as he was initiating bankruptcy due to loss of a shared business. He signed a deed in lieu of foreclosure and was told not to make any payments as it would invalidate the bankruptcy, thus making him liable in regards to other debts. His ex-wife was continuing to reside in the house with a plan to move out when the house was taken by the bank, as she was given exclusive rights to remain in the house per divorce agreement. Due to a rather complex issue with their daughter and his ex-wife’s mental illness, he moved back into the lower level of the house to assist. She moved out and then, a month ago came back without warning.

In the interim, my fiance maintained residency at the house, as he has his landscaping equipment there, and his daughter does not want to move in with me and my boys. How much longer can this go on, before the house is taken away? Nationstar took over in March of 2013, and appears oblivious to the fact that he has not made any payments for over 4 years, that BOA had initiated foreclosure via letters to vacate, and he currently is almost $70,000 in arrears regarding his mortgage payment. He says he'll move in with me when they take the house, and I am struggling to maintain the mortgage on my home which I bought when he was losing his, with the intent he would move in and assist.

Based on this experience, I would say Nationstar is quite the benevolent company, allowing people to in their house with 4 and a half years of no payment, 6 months while under Nationstar. How do I get a mortgage with Nationstar? Are they that oblivious to this? Maybe I should sell my house and just move in with him so as to live mortgage and rent free. Great deal. Oh, the housing market value has just gone up in Suffield, CT and this house has a lot of potential being on nearly 1 acre in a nice neighborhood, walking distance to town.

We have been with Nationstar for several years after our loan was sold by Countrywide. A few years back, we did a re-modification loan to lower our payment. In November of last year, we got a letter about lower interest rates and lower payments. We filled out the paperwork and started the process. We were told not to make a payment until the modification went through, then we would know our new payment. In December, I called to find out the status because I still had not received information about a new payment. I again was told not to worry about the payment, they were still working on the process. In February, I still had not heard anything. I was getting my monthly bill and of course, it said I was four months behind! Again, I called Nationstar and was reassured that they were still working on it and not to worry about the bill. Now when your mortgage company tells you not to worry about the bill, you tend to believe them.

Fast-forward to June... I received a letter stating that my re-modification loan had been denied. I called Nationstar to inquire about the denial and what was my next step. The rep told me that she would look in to it and get back with me. Several days later, I received a letter stating that if I did not pay, foreclosure proceedings would begin! I immediately called and was switched to the foreclosure department. They would not let me speak to the people I had been dealing with earlier because the loan had now been referred to the foreclosure department. I never heard back from the person that was suppose to tell me why it was denied. After many tearful phone conversation and being switched from one person to another, I finally found out that the reason that I was denied was because in the State of Texas if you are approved for a home equity loan, you can not apply for a re-modification!

Why did they send me the letters to apply and why was I not told this back in November?!!! By this time, I am now over $10,000 past due on my mortgage and being threatened with foreclosure. They told me I could sell on a short sale or take advantage of their "Cash for Keys" program. Cash for Keys! They would give me up to $8,000 to hand over my keys and use the money to relocate.

I did not want to lose my home that I had been in since 1996. Our only option was to file for bankruptcy. So now I have the bankruptcy payment and a mortgage payment. The real scary part is that my attorney has told me that I need to start paying my monthly mortgage, but I can not get an answer from Nationstar as to the amount of payment, where I need to send the payment to, etc. When I told the attorney who my mortgage company was, his answer was that they have seen this happen several times from Nationstar. How can they get away with this??? How many families have they put out on the street??? Not Happy.

After my email complaint to Nationstar Mortgage, I received a call back from customer relations about how the representatives are lacking basic skills to handle calls including on how to actually transfer a call. Guess what, he was equally uneducated. He did not know what mortgage insurance premium (MIP) is. He was uneducated on how to assist me because he was not sure what I was asking help on because he lacked the same basic skills any customer representative in the mortgage servicing should know. He did not know about the escrow reserve (I even gave him the website to www.hud.gov) which is tacked on to escrow, so how can he possibly answer or assist? When I pressed him to tell me if he knew what it was... he said yes and then proceeded to tell me it was a good faith estimate. I was shocked! He did not know the difference between having a mortgage and closing on a mortgage. He is the best this company offers to resolve your issue and he has no idea what is a mortgage! Are you kidding me?

This company is paid to service your mortgage but has no clue as to what a mortgage is. They do not know what an escrow account is or how it affects your mortgage... Finally, after catching him in a lie because he really did not know what I was talking about, he said he was going to disconnect the line and he did (which was in my email complaint to his office and yet he did it too). Here is his phone number at Nationstar Mortgage: 972-894-1976. You can call him and school him on what any homeowner knows. Good luck! We need to start an online petition to request the government look into regulating these companies. There needs to be auditing to ensure the information given by their representatives are accurate and have the basic level of competencies to handle the job. Until the consumers start demanding accountabilities of these companies or allow the consumer to select who they want as a servicing company. I am writing to my Gov. and Congressman and Sen. to request they lower the boom on these companies. I highly suggest you do the same!

I was extremely happy with my mortgage I had through Bank of America. I hear complaints about them but had never had an actual issue with them. Then I get a letter from them telling me my mortgage had been sold to Nationstar. I know it happens and accepted it... until the day came and I had to start dealing with them. They are a horrible company. From my first payment I had issues and called them and had this rude, obnoxious CSR on the phone. Every other word out of his mouth was huh... I asked for supervisor and he said why? I said because I would like to speak w/ a supervisor. I get back, "oh we can't do that." Umm I work for a financial firm and I know better. Then was also told by BofA and Nationstar that however the mortgage and payments were set up with BofA would be the same for NS.

Well for about 4 years I have paid my mortgage on the 15th of the month since I get paid twice a month. I never ever had an issue with late payments or fees associated paying that day. The 16th is considered late and I have never been late. From my first payment on the 15th of June I believe I start getting hit with a $9.95 fee... I call and they say you have no late payments. I said exactly but I'm being charged for paying on 15th. I'm told yes because we are not a bank so payments are made through Western Union. Well that is not my problem now is it? I did not asked to come to your company so you need to honor what I have been doing for years like I was told would happen. So nope every month getting hit.

Finally speak to someone else in September and tells me to set up online won't get hit w/ fee. So I did that I put my bank info into my NS account online and made payment on Sept 13... Rec'd email that my payment had been made. WITH THE $9.95 fee... so was aggravated. I have complained many times through their website. Someone from complaints got back to me (via letter) so I emailed her. I won't lie. She was very nice but no help. Because I had to call her to complain once again that not only did they get my mortgage on 9/13 and charge me 9.95 BUT somehow (which I did not do) they put me in for monthly auto pay and took a second mortgage payment out 9/15. She said I went into the system on 9/15 and requested that. I said I did not. I went into my acct on 9/15 because the payment from 9/13 was still not taken out of my account.

So I "viewed" my acct to see payment. I'm told I then signed up for it. I said really? How stupid would I have been IF I did want to do that and set up for 2 days later so that my checking account is now -$343 and I have nothing in my account. I said I want the money put back asap. Ready for this: "we are not a bank. We will have to send you a check"... Are you kidding me? It's now 9/19, I still haven't seen a check or any fixing to my account and I have had it.

They are out to scam everyone and do not care about anybody. If I had the money I'd refinance and get the hell out of here but I do not... My house is on the market and I can only hope that it sells soon and that I don't have to rent it out. I have never seen such a company and if I were an employee there I would not tell a soul that I worked there. I'm just so happy my sister's BofA mortgage was sold but not to them. Something needs to be done... Love to see them shut down. But right now I need my $1140 back in my account because I do have other bills to pay. I've had it with them.

As I have been reading the complaints concerning Nationstar, I too, have been having the same exact problems. I have been trying desperately for a home modification since last November 2012. I completed all the paperwork they sent me. By January of 2013, they still needed additional paperwork. I complied, but did so under protest. My husband and I have been separated since April 2012. They asked for a court certified divorce agreement and a quick claim deed. They did not get either. I then received threatening telephone calls saying my house was in foreclosure even though that is supposed to be stopped while processing the modification.

It is now September 2013 and guess what? I'm on my third round of the exact same paperwork they keep asking me for! This company is a complete joke. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and the only thing I received from Nationstar is that they take this very seriously. Now, I am so behind on my mortgage that the only I could every catch up is to put the balance on the back end and extend my years. They keep promising me that, but then request more and more documents. They really don't want to help you at all! So people, don't buy into the crap they are saying. It would seem there's a lot of animosity towards Nationstar's business practices across the country, so here's my story to add to the list of abuses received from this awful mortgage company. Like others, my FHA mortgage was sold to Nationstar by Bank of America in December 2012. When the FHA streamline program was available in January 2013, I contacted Nationstar to participate in the program. Unknowingly at the time of how bad of a company Nationstar was, I chose to try to work with my new mortgage holder instead of contacting another organization to refinance. Initially, Nationstar was very responsive so that I could submit all of my required documents over to them, but after that first week I waited, and waited, and waited for months with only automated email responses about various states that my refinance was going through. Every phone call I made to their customer service was met with a similar response, parroting things such as the response to the FHA streamline was so high and that Nationstar was understaffed and unprepared for the volume of refinances.

In July 2013, I decided to replace the roof on my house since it was getting old and the extremely rainy season in central Florida was wearing it down. As part of a new roof installation in this state, permits have to be pulled from the county and the contractor has to file a Notice of Commencement with the county. That was all said and done without flaw. Finally in September, I got sick and tired of waiting for Nationstar to complete my refinance, which by now had taken a grossly long amount of time to complete, so I began making further calls to them until finally getting my streamline into underwriting.

Not a day later and Nationstar emailed a reply that said my loan was being denied due to a second lien against the house that happened in July. I immediately realized what they were doing and to what they were referring, which was the paperwork filed with the county for the new roof. Infuriated at this point, I went directly to one of the loan managers demanding that they provide paperwork that proved the claim. After being lied to that the financing I used to pay the roof contractor was a lien (and I did call the finance company to verify that no lien was put against the house), Nationstar finally provided me with a copy of my title pulled from the county. On that title it specifically stated the "termination or release of the Notice of Commencement". A Notice of Commencement isn't in itself a lien against the property. Nationstar then two days later sends me in the mail a rejection of my FHA streamline loan due to a second lien on the house, a bold-faced lie with the "proof" they had sent to me.

Not only did I have to wait for months of this incompetent mortgage company delaying my refinance so that they could continue to collect the higher interest rate, I end up being punished for a home repair and lied to that it caused a second lien to be placed on the property. Neither the finance used for my new roof nor the paperwork filed with the county for permitting purposes constitutes as a second lien. Nationstar is full of crooks and thieves and liars and frauds and I advise all of you to avoid this company like the black plague. If you have to refinance, do it somewhere else. I hope that this fraudulent organization is swiftly put out of business with all the lawsuits going against them and I pray that there's a class action suit in Florida that I can join.

They sent the paperwork, I filled it out and sent it right back. They told me they would call me if I needed any additional information as well as to inform me of the status. Well, I finally called them after several months only to be told that they never received my paperwork. So I filled the paperwork out yet again and sent it to them on a Friday.

I called the next Wednesday to check up on it and was told that my house had been foreclosed on and sold the day before. I never received anything from them stating that the house was in foreclosure nor that there was a sale date. Been getting the runaround ever since. They wont call me back. And they won't show me anything that proves that they sent me letters of foreclosure or sale. They keep telling me to contact some lawyer who was their trustee. The last thing I want to deal with is a lawyer.

So in general. If you have a loan thru Nationstar, refinance quickly because they have the worst customer service. They give you the full runaround and won't answer any questions. They keep handing you off to someone else.

This complaint is on Bank of America, Nationstar and Auction.com and their questionable mortgage practices. I have all of the emails and approval letters to justify this complaint from December 2012 to present. There are over 40 emails so I wanted to initiate the complaint and I was not sure what the capacity was using the website. Please provide me with a person that I can fax, email the information.

The two mortgages on my property were taken out as an 80/20 split by Bank of America. The loss of income and my boyfriend of 7 years caused me to drop the house in short sale in December 2012. Bank of America sold the second mortgage to Carrington although the house was in short sale. The first buyer did not qualify through Bank of America which I was not made aware of which being the home owner, I would have thought they would have told me. Since I would have requested that the house be put back on the market. There was a cash offer and an identical contract signed on May 16th. Bank of America had provided me with an approval letter with a close date of May 25th.

The cash buyer provided a statement from Bank of America to support that he had the cash to purchase the house. This would have given Bank of America 9 days to change the name on the documentation from the old buyer to the new buyer. They said that it could not be done in that short of period. Once again, I was not made aware of this after numerous emails requesting an update so in good faith I moved out under the impression that the house was going to close. Bank of America then sent the mortgage to numerous different vendors for a three-week period and then would move it to another vendor which made it impossible to complete the short sale process. Then I was notified in July that Bank of America had sold the mortgage to Nationstar.

My real estate person was representing me and the buyer. She had all of the documentation to Nationstar before the loan was transferred from Bank of America to Nationstar. I was leery of them since in researching NationStar there was not a lot of good being said about the company The company said that even though I no longer resided there, due to the circumstances, they were going to honor the $3000K reimbursement . My real estate lady (Patty **) requested updates on the mortgage weekly which included Carrington, title company, the buyer and myself. They would not respond. They did say that they were going to have the house appraised.

Bank of America had the house in May 2013 for $73K. My real estate lady appraised it and then they had their appraiser come out and he appraised it at $90K. Patty went into the MLS listing and submitted comps in the area which were nowhere near $90K. Then she was told that they were going to put the house on Auction.com which anyone bidding on house on this website have to be preapproved by Bank of America. If they did not receive a high bid then the cash buyer at $70K would get to purchase the house. The auction date was 11 am on August 24th. The highest bid on the house on Thursday or Friday was $45K. Patty checked the auction site at noon on August 24th and it said the house was gone for $87K.

So I emailed them asking if it was a cash offer, what the next steps were and when I would get my letter with a close date. Patty calls me to tell me that they did not get enough money for it at the auction but they countered the cash buyer for $95K. They wanted me to sign a promissory note with them which I will not be doing. The house has been broken into, ransacked and the copper piping is gone. He did not accept the counter offer. I had written them an email on the following Monday saying that if the situation was not rectified by August 30th, to move the file out of short sale and into foreclosure.

Patty took it off the MLS listing and took off the lock box and gave me the keys. She received an email from Amy at Nationstar yesterday saying they felt bad and sent the file to higher management to see if they can do something. I think it is another stale tactic. At this point, I want to move on with my life and this file to be closed by the end of the year so the bank cannot try to come after me for the remaining balance on the loan.

I emailed three times - no answer to any of my emails. Yesterday we received a letter, something called a suspense notice. My payment for August was late because we were trying to refinance through another company and I was told the August payment would come out of closing which did not happen so it was late getting to Nationstar. I informed them of the reason. I called Nationstar today to find out what a suspense notice is. Took over 5 minutes just to get a human on the line and then only because I hit "make a payment" and waited another 5 minutes for someone to pick up!

When someone finally did answer I couldn't understand the lady. Her accent was so heavy. She did try to explain the suspense letter but her explanation made no sense! I asked to speak to someone else and got a busy signal then nothing. I am assuming I owe these thieves money for the late payment. Letter sounds like a big scam! Cannot wait to be rid of these people! They are very inept and have absolutely NO sense of customer relations! I assume they just don't care!

When you call their customer service line, they have absolutely no knowledge of home loans or the fundamentals of the home loan basics. I am not sure who is training their CSR but they have failed completely as a company. When I say they do not know basics, that means basics... they do not know escrow or how it works or taxes or insurance, nor do they understand MIP or how it works or how it is calculated.

They do not know how to transfer a call, or how to get a supervisor or even their basic policies or procedures. They transfer you to the wrong department and evidently are not held accountable for customer treatment. Your company has missed the mark and could care less about changing your practices. Your website is not accessible today and nobody to answer calls. The federal government needs to get involved on the poor treatment and poor services because homeowners have no choice on who their loans get sold or released to. I am filing a complaint with the HUD and all consumer organizations to file an investigation in to this company.

So my next payment was not due until Aug 2013. In the meantime, they bought this good standing mortgage and then decided to charge me 114 days of late interest payments that were not really due at all. The loan is paid in advance and it is a simple interest loan with a fixed rate. In Aug, I called and was put on hold for 2 hours and 45 minutes. Spoke to person that lied and said, "Oh, we will correct this at once. Send us your records and we will take care of the problem". It is not Sept 2013 and I have for real been put on hold for a total of 9 hours and who knows how many minutes. I have spoken to at least 6 people including managers and they all say the same thing: We will correct the problem and get back to you.

I then called Bank of America and they sat on hold on a three-way call with me for almost two hours and I was told that I was rude and I should talk nice to them and maybe they would help me!!!!!!!!!!!! I told them I lost my manners after about the 6th hour of being on hold with them. All I want is my 200.00 back that they stole from me and I will pay this loan off. Our house is in pre-foreclosure and we are letting Nationstar have it. We bought in 2007 and borrowed to do some upgrades. Well, in 2008, the market came crashing down and we are about $60,000 - $70,000 underwater as of current market values. We'd have to stay another 5 years or so just to break even. I will state that this was not our dream house, just a home to stay 5 or 6 years before we moved on to our long term home.

We were with BOA and the payments were too high so we tried to get a modification and that was a big hassle but we got one, although they didn't lower the payment much, just lump the back payments into a new loan and extend it a few more years. They immediately sold the loan to Nationstar 6 months back and I knew the minute I got the welcome letter that they would be crooks.

They do everything they can to either get what THEY want or just force you out. So, I feel for anyone going through all the crap with them and trying to save their home, much less their dream home. They are not interested in modifications and even if you could get one, the terms and tactics they use are so shady it's disgusting. I wouldn't even want them as landlords on a rental property. Going through a short sale with them looks to be a nightmare too and they offer no help on the matter. They just want their money, PERIOD!

It's just a big game to them. They lose documents so often that I am amazed they know how to run an office. My wife is actually a loan processor for a mortgage company in our state and they use several hundred companies to do mortgages with and she said that they would NEVER go near Nationstar because they are a complete joke.

So, we are saving all our money and plan on renting for a few years before buying another home. Foreclosure sucks and can be emotionally draining but it doesn't last forever and you can start getting halfway decent rates on mortgages in about 2-3 years as long as your other credit is good. Our mortgage credit will be bad but all our other bills are current and in good standing.

I have been keeping close records of everything though in case we go to an attorney or join a class action suit. One thing I would recommend to people is taking screenshots of their website and all the changes it shows to keep track. I have a file full of all the stupid modification requests, messages they put on which make no sense and show how incompetent they are. I have images of times when their website was down in the middle of the day but a pop up box said it should be available that morning. Images of weird dates on things (1-1-001) and I even have an image where they lost their accreditation with the BBB for 5 days, yet they were still advertising it on their website.

Don't listen to anything they say. They will lie to you and PLEASE never give them access to your bank account. If you did, change that immediately. If you can refinance elsewhere, do it but we chose to just let them have the house as in our case, it's not worth the hassle of dealing with them. They would rather foreclose and write off the loss than modify the loan. Honestly, we just needed our monthly payment lowered about $400 or so and we would be good but they are not interested so they can have this place.

God bless all who has to deal with this company and I do believe they are headed for something bad as all these tactics and pissed off people will come back to haunt them... GUARANTEED!

In 2006, I entered into a contract with Fremont Investments for a refi through a broker. Fremont had my appraisal for my home listed at $316,000. They promised that part of my principal would be used for investments that would help pay down the principal. I had enough money saved up to make the 2,174 a month payment until the projected value of my property met what I was being sold, then I would sell my house and be totally debt free. However, as 2007 ended, Fremont would not return my calls nor would they answer any letters that I sent. I began to do some research with this company and that is when I began to think something was wrong with my mortgage. I was running out of my savings to make that payment so I contacted a mortgage fraud HOPE hotline who gave me the run down on the things that I had to do. I followed that format to the letter.

Maryland DLLR got my case and based on the conversations that I had, I was relieved. I began to suspect that there was an issue with my appraisal and I requested Fremont send me a copy of that appraisal. That is when I found out that Nationstar had my mortgage. That is where this who saga began to turn ugly. I submitted a complaint to my state for investigation and received notification that there was nothing wrong with my mortgage. My home was worth what they say it is. I talked to my couple neighbors, one of whom has a log home and four times the land, and found out that the value of their home was only around $150,000. I brought this to the attention to the state along with copies of two court ordered appraisals from my divorce in 2003 that I forgot about. Even with that amount of evidence, the real estate commission denied my complaint.

I appealed to the Governor and others and finally in 2010, the state did send an investigator to my home. The first words out of his mouth were that this is no $300,000 home. The state took the appraiser to court in which I did testify in late 2010 and she was fined $2,500. However, I was given nothing whatsoever. My status with the mortgage company did change the payment to around around $1,700. By this time, I was out of cash and very deeply in debt. Finally, I now stand to lose my home because of an issue with the statute of limitations and the fact that Nationstar still believes that my home is worth what the contract says it is. I have filed with the CFPB and have others working on my behalf to secure a PRA modification under HAMP, but Nationstar sat on my paperwork for a month and did not submit anything.

My HRDC has been hung up on, put on hold forever, and made to fax documents to multiple numbers. They now say that my paperwork has expired and that I need to re-submit. This type of service is pathetic and unacceptable. If it wasn't bad enough that I was scammed and fraud committed and then let down by the negligence of others who are trusted to prosecute and protect, but to have this happen now is horrible. I feel sorry for anyone who is dealing with Nationstar Mortgage as they are impossible to deal with. I live on a country road when access is limited to 4x4 only. I am the only one who maintains this road and yet Nationstar insists that I live on a tar and chip road. I sent them photos to show that I didn't. I never heard a reply about that either.

PSB sold my mortgage to NationStar. I went in, set up automatic payments starting September 1st and continuing the 1st of every month thereafter. I came into work knowing that Labor Day would mean that my payment should come out on the 2nd of September due to the holiday. I have an email notice saying my payment is late though I have a 16 day grace period. I called and was told by customer service that they do not see any payment coming out of my account or any confirmation number confirming I had set up the payment. I was told there was an error and to set the payment up again. So, stupidly I listened and did. I got the same exact confirmation number as I did the first time. I called NationStar back and was told that I should have received a new confirmation number. Not to worry only one payment will come out.

My payment came out on the 3rd and again for September 1st on the 4th. I called NationStar back and told them what happened and asked for the monies to be put back into my account. I was told it was my fault. I said "Wait a minute, you told me the payment wasn't made, not confirmation number was showing and that no payments were pending." I received the same confirmation number twice. I was told I had to send them a statement showing they took the payment out twice and it would take 90 days to refund to my account.

I believe this mortgage company is foreign owned and a bunch of crooks. They can see that two payments were taken out using the same confirmation number. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that two payments within one day hit my account. Now what do I do? This is harassment and they cannot start telling people they are late when they are within their grace period. If this doesn't resolve itself I will go to an attorney!!! No doubt.

So is Consumer Affairs looking into all these complaints and doing something about it? That is my question. When 90% of the people are unhappy and fraudulent practices are taking place, it is time to step up for the rights of those who are being infringed upon.

My experience with Nationstar is much like everyone else's. I used to try to describe my experience with Nationstar to others and it was dumbfounding to people, and I would conclude by saying, "yeah they have 900+ reviews on a website and not one of them is positive, and I haven't even felt compelled to write a review yet." Well, I guess that has changed but where on earth do I try to begin? I will give a brief summary of my experience but the words I choose do not come close to describing it.

Much like everyone else, my Citi loan was sold to Nationstar without my knowledge. I attempted to refinance with Nationstar soon after, and I submitted an initial application. I was not eligible because the value of the property had decreased. About a year later I received a several hundred dollar "service fee" on my statement. After several very frustrating phone calls trying to find someone who could explain this, I then demanded a manager, who eventually informed me that this was a routine "home inspection". When I told her that no one ever inspected my home she eventually got back to me and said that there was a "drive by inspection" during the time that I attempted the refinance. What????

Several years later now, I again attempted to refinance my property since values had gone back up (obviously with a different company)... This is where it gets really messed up.

After spending several weeks submitting loan paperwork with my new company my lender said something was not adding up as I was again told I could not refinance. After an investigation we eventually found out that Fannie Mae had no record of my original loan - this was because Nationstar added extra letters to the name of my street so that Fannie Mae would not have a record of it, thus preventing me from refinance to a much much lower rate. I was told that Fannie Mae only updates their address database once a month and that Nationstar would have to submit an address change for it to get changed.

So I contacted Nationstar and I explained this situation to at least 6 people on 4 different days (yes about 25 people total) after getting transferred at least 5 times on each day to someone who eventually said they could help me simply change my address, I was told on each of these days that the address had been changed. I even confirmed with them on each occasion and they assured me that it was done. So two times I waited about a month for Fannie Mae to update their address database and on each of these two times they still had no record of the loan or the address getting updated.

I called back Nationstar, again, and asked for a manager - I believe this is when I spoke to someone by the name of Marcus who told me that there was no way that Nationstar could update my address unless I sent proof to them that it was spelled wrong (what?). His description of what he needed in order to erase two letters from my street name made it seem nearly impossible to do (he needed certified paper work from the city and county records, and all types of additional forms, contacts, etc that were not feasible). At this point I lost it. I demanded he change the address and he continued to say that he could not. I eventually contacted Fannie Mae myself and told them that Nationstar intentionally put my address wrong and refused to update it. Somehow without any of the hoops Marcus was trying to make me jump through the address eventually got updated with Fannie Mae, thus finally making me eligible for a refinance. Today my new loan is finished (thank the Lord) and Nationstar decided to send me an overnight FedEx package stating that my current mortgage is eligible for an express refinance, and then they called me asking if I received the FedEx package.

I am sure that I am leaving out something else major that I should write about this negative experience. There are many other occurrences that I have spoken with Nationstar and it is always so draining. I can't even describe it but if you have ever dealt with them you know what I mean. I hope this helps someone, somehow. If you haven't already - run from this company, as far and as fast as you can because they are no good and they do not care about you to say the least.

Every month I get a phone call from their collections department stating my payment is past due whether it is 1 or 5 days late. I have never missed a payment and never paid a late charge. What is their problem? It is very annoying to receive these phone calls and especially when you don't get a person on the other end. I would not recommend this mortgage company to anyone. I have never had a problem before until with them when my account was sold to them. I will be looking to go with someone else who is more considerate and personal.

Due to unforeseen circumstances in which I take full responsibility for, my mortgage fell behind several months. I began receiving foreclosure notices from the mortgage company as well as a law firm. I contacted the mortgage company to review my alternatives. I was told that there were no options but to pay the past due mortgage along with a large dollar amount due to the law firm handling the foreclosure. I explained to the mortgage representative that I was able to pay the past due mortgage; however the large dollar amount of attorney fees was preventing me from paying the total amount due. She stated she contacted the law office and was informed that the amount she sent and quoted me was the amount the law firm quoted her. I asked her to send me a breakdown of the amount due.

She sent me a very detailed email outlining the amount, total amount due along with deadline to pay to prevent the foreclosure. After raising the money to have my mortgage reinstated, I called the mortgage company and spoke with the same representative who informed me the amount she stated still was good and I was to send the certified funds to her. I decided to call the law firm the same day I was to send the reinstatement payment to the mortgage. I was informed by them they were not contacted by the mortgage company regarding the charge that should be added to my reinstated amount.

The mortgage company advised me I had to pay $4777.59; the actual amount due per the law firm was $3333.12. The legal fees were only $50 and I was consistently quoted legal fees in the amount of $1502.48. You can imagine how upset I was to learn that I could have possibly lost my home due to the negligence of the mortgage company and their representative. Please help me. Was this fraud? Was I being scammed? How many families have lost their homes due to this incompetence. I am reaching out to you in hopes that you hear my story and somehow bring right to the wrong that was done to me. I am not looking for any monetary compensation; an acknowledgement of their wrongdoing would be fine. Perhaps they should be made to review and revise their reinstatement policies when it comes to their employees.

Nationstar took over my mortgage from BofA in June of 2013.

I recently contacted Nationstar Mortgage because I have an insurance settlement payment (storm damage) that must be signed by them before I can pay the contractors. My first suspicion there may be problems came when none of the IVR's menu options clearly applied to my situation, none offered to speak with a representative, and all seemed to require an account number before continuing.

I didn't have my account number so I used the age-old method of "hammer 0s until you get to someone". Queue my next red flag: when I did this, the IVR prompted me for my social and responded by saying that this call is related to an unpaid debt and that I need to speak with them or action will taken. (Go figure, I called them... Note that I have no unpaid debts.)

Hold time was approximately 7 minutes before I made it to a rep (this was 8:30am CT on a Monday). The rep was extremely curt and at times blatantly rude. He insisted I give him my account number. When I explained I didn't have that handy, he interrupted by saying "Social Sec Number then". I gave this number and he said I have no information in their system. This surprised me as I've been making mortgage payments to them for months. I said the same thing to them and he asked me for my number again, with the same result, and then he added "Sir, why don't you hang up and call back when you have your account number." (Geeze...)

After being treated so poorly I asked to speak with his supervisor, which he refused. I asked for his name. He said "Bill" and refused to give his last name. I asked if he has an ID number that could be used to reference this call and he gave it to me (will not post here). Finally I asked again to speak to his supervisor and he said "Look, we have policies not to allow people to speak to supervisors when we can't verify their account information. You need to call us back." I explained to him why I was calling to see if he could help even without pulling up my account (i.e. just tell me where to mail the check for Pete’s sake...) He refused to answer. At this point I explained I felt his treatment was unprofessional and dropped the line.

I'm seriously considering a refinance with a local CU just to get away from this place.

Ours is an ongoing story, refinancing under HARP, instructed not to pay in May 2013 as they had pulled down a settlement figure. They did not close us as they stated and then they sent a letter saying we were in default. They have continually blindsided us. We are still attempting to deal with them. We have initiated two internal investigations (they cannot find the recorded conversations we are referring too - surprise!). Their internal investigations are a cover up.

I now copy the CEO on ALL my correspondence and all of you should do the same (CEO: Jay Bray, Email: jay.bray@nationstarmail.com). Look him up **, see where he came from and then you will understand why the company is run the way it is. Nationstar is purely a debt collection agency. They don't want you to re-fi as then they make less money. I have been repeatedly asked by employees of Nationstar over the last year not to keep copying Jay Bray on correspondence. I still do it and I will continue to do it. When he changes his email, I will find that one and again I will do it. You should do the same.

I have had my own experiences with Nationstar and it's only been since June 2013 when they took over the servicing of the Countrywide/BofA loans. The Dodd-Frank Bill created an entity as part of the Federal Government called "The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau" or CPB. I have used them twice. Through their website, you document what happened and specifically what you want done. This is important because Nationstar has to respond to each item you ask for. The CFPB is a federal agency that regulates the financial institutions. They are keeping track of what institutions are defrauding consumers. When you go through the complaint process, you are given a case #. Nationstar has to respond to each one of the items you would like to see addressed or changed. Nationstar is also obliged to respond within 30 days after you file your complaint. It's all done online and it's free.

Like I said, I've used it twice once for Nationstar and once for BofA. Both of them acknowledged my complaint 3 days later and then did the obligatory follow up in 30 days. The best part of the process is if you don't like their answer, then you can dispute it and the process goes on. That way you have a running record of their behavior with the bureau. If all of us follow this process, it will have an impact on Nationstar and other viruses like them. This is the best way to document your problem and share some of the misery with Nationstar. They are very shady and they need to be watched. Remember, this is part of Dodd-Frank. The CFPB has only been around this year. They are eager to make it work. They are your best resource for affecting change. Or a class action lawsuit.

So for the next three months we sent in the checks by certified mail. The checks were signed for and we received a return receipt. BUT, we still kept getting robocalls from Nationstar saying that our rent was overdue. We waited long periods of the phone with "customer service" (which turns out to be in the Philippines while their offices are in Texas). We tried to get direct phone numbers to the check receiving department to find out why our "signed for checks" were not being entered. But were told that customer service "didn't have any direct numbers, and they couldn't help us".

Nationstar bought my mortgage from BoA. However, they didn't buy both loans, just one. I'm told that this is because they knew the housing market is bad, people are upside down in their mortgage, and that the second loan probably isn't good. Yes, I actually heard this from one of their customer service agents. Well, I didn't find out my loan was being transferred until of course the last day of the month. They didn't establish an account number until the first week of the new month. I couldn't pay BoA because the account no longer existed so I had to wait. But according to the agent, no problem because I have 60 days to make sure the account is current before any late fees are assessed.

Well, I had an allotment that went to BoA. My house is a rental property so I had to have my property manager hold the rent check until I could find out where to pay. Don't you know that a week later, I started getting calls saying my account was past due? Well, because of the allotments, I had to stop everything. So I set up an account with a different bank to make things easier for my property manager, stopped original allotment and started a new allotment (after I finally got a Nationstar account number). I called Nationstar to let them know all of this. Response, no problem; however, I still received harassing calls everyday. I called them again and told them NOT to call me anymore unless I went past their 60 grace period.

Well, the calls stopped but now I get a letter saying they are about to put my house in foreclosure status. But get this.... account was made current two weeks ago. My 60 grace period does not end until today. What in the world is going on and how was this company (a collection agency I must add) ever get approved to be a mortgage company? What makes things worst is that unlike other mortgage companies, you only have until the 10th to get payment in before you are assessed a late charge (most give you until the 15th). And then there is this bank wire fee because they are not associated with a bank. I'm almost at the point until I'm ready to say.... keep the house. By the way... they only get one star because I have to give them a star. They are not even worth that!!!

I had filled out the paperwork from BOA who assured me that this info would be transferred to Nationstar. I know that BOA did transfer it but Nationstar said they has not received it, which was a total lie.

Since then, I have been trying to get a lower rate but it is impossible to get someone on the phone. When they finally answer, they always transfer me to another agent after having waited at least an hour. Then the next person has to transfer me to someone else. I currently have a 5.65% rate and I am trying to lower it but nobody will help me. I already sent Nationstar all the info they requested by registered mail and they claim that they lost it. I also was told that I am not allowed to switch my mortgage to another company. Basically, BOA is allowed to sell my mortgage but I cannot change companies. I hope there will be a class action suit against Nationstar as they are, in my opinion, trying to do what many insurance companies do - "Deny the 1st claim". This is a disgrace. In the middle of lawsuit, they transferred it to Nationstar so they could say they have nothing on file. Nationstar will not remove the code saying we have an attorney so no one can talk to us. For weeks I have been attempting to find someone to help me. I could go on about the ridiculous automated answering system and horrible treatment by the individuals taking calls, all of whom sound as if they are from a different country and do not understand what I am saying.

The last person I reached insisted she could assist me, repeatedly supplied me with the original date of the loan's maturity, did not grasp the simple concept that the extra payments to principal would reduce the maturity date and finally told me that I should ask my husband because surely he has an understanding of such things and she was certain he would help me sort it out! BOA apologizes but what good does that do me now? I have (I think?) only about 8 or 9 years on the loan and it probably makes no sense financially for me to refi even with current rates. So I'm stuck with this horrible lender. Homeowners in the US deserve some voice in these situations. If anyone has advice, please post!

The end of June 2013 I refinanced with Loan Depot - not a bad experience as far as the actual refi.

My first payment was due August 1st. Since I pay electronically I set up the payment for July 20th to be sure I had time to rectify any issues. After I set up payment I received a notice from Home Depot telling me they had transferred the servicing of the loan to Nationstar. The notice stated that I should make payments to Loan Depot until Aug 1st. Since this was already set up I did not change it.

A few days later I received a letter from Nationstar stating basically the same thing. To make a long story short Nationstar is showing my account as delinquent and have applied my September payment as if it is paying August. They have send envelops with notations on the outside stating we have payment option to our mailbox in an attempt to embarrass us. I have called them 4 times since the end of last month. They are totally unhelpful (one of their customer service reps told me my "beef" was with Loan Depot not them) and the latest attempt to harass us is to state that they have been advised that our insurance has lapsed and they are going to purchase insurance on our behalf. Totally untrue (we wouldn't have obtained the loan without a paid up policy less than 6 weeks ago). They have told me to have my loss payee changed to them (on my cancelled policy) even though Loan Depot has assured me that they did not sell the loan - only the servicing. Bottom line is stay away from Loan Depot and especially their agent Nationstar. There are too many good companies out there to deal with organizations such as these. I had completed a loan modification with Bank of America and my first permanent modification payment was made on June 1, 2013. When I signed my permanent loan modification paperwork with BofA I noticed an error the underwriter made in the BofA documentation. BofA recognized, then advised that they would correct the error. BofA told me they would send me corrected documentation to sign. Well two months go by and then my loan got transferred to Nationstar Mortgage effective June 4, 2013. Bank of America said they are no longer responsible and could not help me in any way as the loan was now transferred to Nationstar.

Nationstar says they are working on this when I call them and now it has been almost three months that have gone by. I continue to make my permanent loan modification payments, however Nationstar has written me with certified mail stating that my mortgage is several months past due and now they served me with certified mail stating that they intend to enforce the provisions of my original note and related security instrument unless I pay the full amount of the default on the loan by 9/25/2013. Essentially Nationstar says one thing on the phone "that they are working on it" however I am being communicated with written documentation and served with written documents that state they are going to enforce the original note, in other words foreclose.

Basically my permanent loan modification that I spent about a year working on with Bank of America is not being recognized or revoked by the new servicer Nationstar mortgage. I have provided all the documentation I received from BofA to Nationstar, however they do not recognize the permanent loan modification. Nationstar also has not returned any of my calls on this question. I have had to always call them again, and again, and again. I have had what they call 6 separate SPOC "single points of contact" all of which I left messages with or can't reach, and after asking to talk with supervisors I get the same old answer - well we will escalate the call, but nothing happens except the letters I receive saying how much I am late and in default and they are going to enforce the original loan agreement and foreclose.

It seems like Nationstar is dragging this out until they can show I am so far behind, and then jump in and try to foreclose without regard of the Bank of America permanent loan modification. This all started because Bank of America's underwriting department made an error and then transferred the loan to Nationstar who now isn't recognizing my previous loan modification. I feel they are both terrible companies to deal with and somewhere there should be some type of redress for me due to all the emotional trouble, and time I have had to spend to try and make use of a government program that shouldn't be that difficult to implement.

It is ridiculous, and maybe if these servicers were penalized in some way they would get their act together. It has been too long, waiting and waiting only to find out they plan to start foreclosure proceedings 9/25/2013. If something isn't done to resolve this matter I feel that I am going to lose my home even though I am making my permanent loan modification payments.

Per the bank this payment was delivered to Nationstar on 7/9/2013, with a due date of 7/11/2013 or earlier. The statement from Nationstar on 7/15/2013 for this payment showed a received date of 7/12/2013. I don't understand why it took 3 days to apply this payment, but it was NOT late and I refuse to pay a late fee - even though they are trying to bill $65 for a late payment.

At the same time..... on 7/2/2013, we received a "notice of non-payment of premium" for our Homeowners Insurance Policy from Nationwide. The insurance was scheduled to be canceled on 7/17/2013 if they did not receive the annual payment that was due. On 7/10/2013, I made payment to Nationwide, as they had still not received payment from Nationstar (even though they had it in my escrow) and without this payment we would have lost coverage on our home, which would not have reinstated and would have caused our home to be uninsured. Back in 2010, I had an awful experience with BOA with a modification, people not calling me back, giving me false information, etc. I took scrupulous notes. My loan is now transferred to Nationstar whoever. Getting back to 201... They approved my modification only AFTER I got sick and tired of their **. Here's the solution that I did... I know I'm going to have to use it again as I'm still having issues and I'm sure I'm going to have to dead with Nationstar soon enough.

I wrote the CEO a poison pen letter. I explained my entire situation and what and who was contacted and what was said and what I had to offer, what I expected and the rift I went through. I sent a copy of that same letter to - believe it or not, I truly did - The President of the United States, The US Comptroller, The Florida Attorney General and numerous others. I spent nearly $40 for all the postage including certified mail return receipt requested. It was amazing how many responses I got and how things got fixed the way they should.

I can tell I'm going to have to go that route again. Due to health reasons of my mother and my own, our home went into Foreclosure. I am asked to go to mediation and have some money to put down to get back on track. However, I am very hesitant after reading everyone's comments. I don't have a clue whether to go forward or just give up the home. We built it. We love it. I'd hate to move. Our credit sucks so I would resort to renting and that's a waste. Maybe this Mediation thing might work. I dunno.

Bottom line....Don't give up and try what I've done and definitely put in the complaint to the Better Business Bureau and the clerk & Comptroller of your state. Carbon copy everyone with your plight and fight and flood their offices with your complaints about this company. It is the only way to make progress.

She also told him they were taking an advanced payment which they have NEVER done and refuse to pay the overdraft charge on our account now. They are a fraudulent company seeking to drain people's accounts and leaving them homeless and penniless. There has been some question regarding the location of this company and it was confirmed today where they are actually located because we have made numerous calls to this company and no one would tell us where they were located even after speaking with a supervisor back on the 8th.

If you are looking for a home, do NOT go with this company for a mtg. They will scam you every chance they can get. We are beside ourselves and now paying double our normal house payment. We have an appt with an attorney and when you call Nationstar you get nowhere and they half understand what you are saying. No wonder why, they are in another country. I offered to have my neighbor there. At first she said it was fine, then that was not good enough, so we ended our call. I was in the trial period of a Loan Modification with BofA and hope Nationstar will abide by that; if not, it looks like I may be in for a fight. I have little tolerance for BS..., especially when it comes to survival (number one basic instinct).

I am totally surprised that with all the complaints here on Consumer Affairs, there is only one complaint filed with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) on Nationstar within the past two years. How can anyone expect positive changes without making a formal complaint? They forward these complaints to the company and expect a response from them. If you feel you are being mistreated by Nationstar, you need to let the the CFPB know. If enough complaints are filed maybe the CFPB; and who knows, Nationstar themselves, may get the message. I always made 2 extra payments each month, in additional to my scheduled mortgage payment due. I called right after the transition and confirmed that I could make the additional payments by mail and have them applied to my principal as long as I put in the memo "apply to principal." Easy right! Not so much because they are IDIOTS! I called when I saw that it wasn't applied correctly online and was told it would be corrected as well as a note placed on my account to advise of my intention to always send that way. Needless to say, it was never corrected. The second payment I sent toward principal wasn't applied correctly and my inquiries about it only provided simply, "your request was denied... you have a simple interest loan..." Some nonsense. Never had this issue when I was at BAC - so mad that they moved my account. Guess I wasn't making them any money by paying it down so quickly.

You tell me I have the option to send extra money and have it applied to my principal but you don't do so as requested. Hmmmm, regulatory violations?? Yea, I think so - and I'm sure the CFPB would like to hear about it!!

To top it off, I asked to have the manager call me back and was told that I submitted a "cease and desist letter on my account" and so they wouldn't be able to call me back. I didn't ever send in a cease and desist letter! They are crazy. I finally got through to a manager and the manager spent 10 minutes talking to me about the value of owning a house and lecturing me about what I should do, saying I should contact my church to give me money to pay for the mortgage. This review is regarding issues applying additional principal payments each month. Nationstar Mortgage has made this an unnecessarily difficult process, and I would like others to know about it. I'm also seeking advice on things I can do about it.

Some info about myself: I have never missed a payment on any form of loan or revolving credit. At 28 years old, my credit score ranges between 775 and 800. I have owned two houses and had mortgages sold several times in the past with no real complaints. There is always a bit of a learning curve when switching companies and adjustments are required. This is nothing unreasonable to me. I am aggressively paying off my mortgage, sending additional principal payments every month.

My loan was sold from Bank of America to Nationstar Mortgage sometime in May 2013. I made my May and June payments to Bank of America and made my first payment to Nationstar Mortgage in July. The first payment made in July went extremely well. They accepted my normal monthly payment of $893 and applied the additional principal of ~$3500 to the principal balance.

The second payment made in August did not go as planned. Nationstar took the initial $893 payment, as expected. Then, they took another $893 from the "additional principal" payment I made (total was ~$4000) and applied that to my September payment. The rest of the additional principal payment was applied to the principal balance. So to recap, it looked like this: I intended for $893 August payment and $4000 additional principal. Instead, they took $893 August payment, $893 September payment, and then $3107 additional principal.

I contacted Nationstar to inquire, and the customer service representative informed me that this was standard operating procedure. He called it "payment application logic". He said that it was Nationstar's policy to apply any additional payment (above the normal monthly payment) to the next month's payment before applying anything directly to principal. I stayed on the phone with him for about 30 minutes until he agreed to request that they correct the payment application.

He said that this could not be guaranteed, but that he would attempt the request. He also let me know that he could send me a form to fill out that would request that all future additional principal payments be applied directly to principal instead of following the normal "payment application logic". I also asked him to send me something in writing detailing this "payment application logic". He has agreed to send that to me via mail. What I don't understand is how can they force me to pay a month in advance before paying off the principal directly? Also, why did they not use this "payment application logic" to my first month's payment? Am I being pushed around? Any help is much appreciated.

Nationstar had bought my loan from Bank of America and had been calling me threatening me with foreclosure and options for modification that wouldn't help me cause I tried and I never qualify for anything. So I finally called them and let them know that I can afford to pay my mortgage again so what was I looking at paying... Their response was they could not let me pay anything less than $3000 to get started back up. I kinda expected something crazy and said could I make payments to that 3000 cause I just got a job and there's no way I could afford that. They gave me the option to do a loan modification, sign over the property or pay 3000. I told them I'd try my best and I'd call them back.

Well it took almost 2 months to go 3000, so I called them back. After them denying they had ever said anything about $3000 they said it would cost 5700 to get to be able to start paying my mortgage again. I said I'd try and could they give me a month. Well a few weeks later I called back. I had 7000 in the bank and I was ready to put it all in. They said no one ever told me about $5700 and it would cost 9700 to got back to be able to pay on my mortgage. Now I'm really freaking out. I asked them could they at least took what I have and I could pay them in about 3 weeks the rest. They said they couldn't take anything under 9700 and I had until March to pay it.

Well I made it to March. I've got 10600 in my account. I call... They say they don't know who told me 10600 but it's going to be 11190 to get my account back up to start paying. I hung up, went borrow the rest I needed from a friend since I'd thought I'd be done and called them back. They gave me a bank number to wire transfer it to and I did it. This was on a Friday and I asked for confirmation and a letter saying I had paid them and I could start paying my mortgage again. Well I couldn't call them back cause by the time I got back from the bank it was after business hours. Monday I get a call. Nationstar acts as a debt collector... etc. The rude woman tells me I paid the wrong amount and my funds are frozen and will not go towards the balance unless I come up with about $530 more... I freak out asking them what the hell is wrong! Why do they keep lying and making up things. Every time I call back it's a different person, they've never heard of the last person I've talked to and don't recall conversations I've had.

I asked about the recording of the phone conversations that they keep for quality service and they say I can't get them without a court order.... I begin to cry and hang up. I go borrow more money and call them back, set up the payment, do a wire transfer and ask them to please God sent me confirmation, set me up on a repayment plan and let me pay my mortgage. They drop another bomb on me... They set me up by saying I'm 22000 behind and I have to make up the balance by paying 1600 a month until caught up, and by dong that I'm still going to be marked as late every month until I meet this $22000 some odd goal due to lawyer's fees and such....

Well I get by a few months doing that then on July 23 2013 I call them and set up a payment. 1600 as usual but I ask the lady a question. I tell her I work offshore for 3 to 4 weeks at a time and work when I'm home. When I'm gone I don't have communications with the shore for weeks and it would be easier if I could pay two months at a time. She responds by saying that is completely possible and she could set it up anytime, so I tell her I have the funds available so could I make a payment for August as well. She sets it up, does the draft and gives me a two confirmation numbers for July and August payments. I write them down and ask her could she note my account that I am paid up for two months and email me, send a letter, etc... She says it's no problem at all and I don't have to pay again until September 1st. I ask again will I be penalized or will the money be applied to the balance or will it actually go to August's payment. She assures me again that August is taken care of and I have only 5 more months of paying 1600 a month to be free of this mess....

Well August comes and my wife gets a call August was not paid and penalties and possible reinstatement of foreclosure will recommence if it isn't paid by the 16th of August..... I finally get time (by the way I'm 300 miles off shore) to beg a high up to use a phone to make a call. I call Nationstar and wait an ungodly amount of time to get through their wait to talk to a woman who tells me there is no note of being paid for August and the two payments were confirmed and they were applied to the balance, not the loan..... That's today 08/13/2013.... I'm offshore, have no money until Friday and now I'm considering giving up. Michael ** doesn't know what to do anymore. Will I ever be able to keep a roof over my son and wife's head?

Since my last post, I contacted my Insurance agent and had him contact Nationstar to get the insurance policy reinstated. Yesterday I received a "FINAL NOTICE" letter from Nationstar which informed me that they had setup an "Insurance Binder" for my mortgage with "Standard Guaranty Insurance Company". This policy just happened to be almost exactly DOUBLE the cost of my previous policy!

Once again I contacted Nationstar and they told me they had no record of contact with my insurance company, and they needed proof of insurance sent to them before they would release any of the Escrow account funds, which were supposed to have been used by them to pay my insurance premium back on 6/23/2012. Wasn't it convenient that my mortgage was transferred to Nationstar (along with my escrow money) just 16-days before my premium was due??? Yet I wasn't contacted by Nationstar about my insurance until 7/10/2013 when they let me know that my, "insurance policy has either expired, cancelled, or non-renewed on 6/23/2013 and a replacement policy has not been provided." Well DUH... They didn't send the payment!!! I will post an update on my mortgage nightmare when I get one...

Wow! After reading these complaints, now I'm really quite worried about my own situation with Nationstar. In May of 2013, I completed a loan modification with BofA. On June 4th, my loan transferred to Nationstar. On June 11th, my home property were involved in the Black Forest fire in Colorado. My insurance company has issued checks to me get everything repaired and rebuilt and, by law, they have to put Nationstar on the checks as an endorsee.

I cannot get Nationstar to endorse the checks so I can start rebuilding. I've been fighting with them for almost 2 months now. I have spoken with dozens of people at Nationstar, including several "supervisors". I'm told that I am showing up as delinquent in their system (owing them a $12,000+ payment!), and until I am "current" in their system, they cannot endorse the insurance checks.

I have also been getting foreclosure notices! They say it takes them 60 to 90 days to "review" my loan modification to make sure BofA did everything correctly, and then they will show me "current" and then I can get the insurance checks endorsed. I have had no less than 5 "supervisors" tell me they would put a "rush" on it and it would be done in 5 to 7 business days. 2 months later, still not done!

The bad part is, I have a water well that was destroyed in the fire, and I can't get it fixed without paying a downpayment to the well people. In addition, I sent them my 2nd mortgage payment to arrive by 8/1/13. It has still not cleared my bank. This is all totally out of my control. I was perfectly happy with BofA and had nothing to do with this company buying my loan. I don't know what to do!!!

Our mortgage loan was sold to Nationstar Mortgage a few months ago. It is due the 1st of every month, delinquent after the 16th. It takes us a week to 10 days to collect rent from our tenants, deposit and make sure their checks clear before we pay our mortgage, which is always before the 16th. Nationstar begins DAILY harassing automated phone calls on the 3rd or 4th saying our account is past due and they are a collection agency attempting to collect a debt. This continues every day at all hours of the day and night - even after they have received our payment. I see online that our payment has cleared our bank and they still call us every day. There is no option in the call to speak with a real person - just constant calls that even paying them don't stop.

I have already had one problem but not sure of the outcome.... Let me say after reading this page and another website I am worried. BOA sold our loan to Nationstar. I can't say I was upset at first. After 10 years with BOA, I left them (I thought) closing out bank accounts and IRA-CDs totally disgruntled with how their service had gone downhill. Countrywide then transferred my loan to BOA and I was back in bed with them like it or not. Nationstar took over my loan July 1st. When I learned about the transfer there wasn't time to make my payment by the 1st and since I had paid online with BOA, I now had to mail in my payment to Nationstar until I got an account number from them. I don't own checks so I got two money orders--included my BOA account number on them like instructed.

My home monthly payment is $1043. I had to get two money orders because they couldn't make the money order for more than a $1000. So, I got one for $1000 and one for $100--putting an extra $50 toward my $120 fees. (I had some late fees with BOA but not an overwhelming amount of fees). They applied the $1000 to my home loan and put the $100 toward the fees... IN EFFECT.... they shorted my July payment and told me I hadn't made the full payment due for the month. So they recorded my monthly payment as late. I called and got a wonderfully nice woman on the phone who said they probably didn't even read the BOA payment slip included with my payment.

(Seeing as how they are taking over for BOA you would think they would at least LOOK at the payment slips or if nothing else put the full amount toward the monthly payment and the remainder to fees. My fees were only for paying after the 16th NOT for paying missing a mortgage payment completely PLUS IF THEY DIDN'T READ the payment slip how did they know I didn't want that 50 to go toward escrow or principal???) Anyway, I was told the correction had been made. Again, I got no sense at the time that the person I was speaking with wasn't following through on what she said. But then my next statement came.... and it still shows the same thing. I am calling today to get them to change it. When I went online to find info about the company Nationstar I saw several complaint pages popped up--so of course my curiosity was peaked. I have to say I am now scared to death that our loan is with Nationstar. I don't have perfect credit and definitely not an 820 like someone else mentioned.

We have been buried with medical expenses for my daughter over the years but felt like we have been above water lately... but always knowing that medical issues could pull us right back into a financial pit again. We have never paid our loan 30 days late just to note for the record... but it sounds like we are perfect for Nationstar's victim pool if all this is true. I do find it funny that Jay Bray President and CEO of Nationstar (CEO since 2000) --- was employed with Bank of America for 6 years prior to going to Nationstar... His bio said he had multiple leadership roles which might mean he "knows exactly how the system works" to set people up to fail. I hope that assumption/opinion is wrong.

For 8 years, I had a mortgage with BOA. Never missed a payment or late. My husband passed away in April 2012. I managed to keep payments up for about a year. I missed March 2013 payment but paid in April. I contacted Bank of America for a little help on making my payments. Was told they would help. Lady told me to pay April payment in May and so on now I'm 2 months behind. The next thing I know, my mortgage was given to Nationstar.

The headaches really began once again. Keep making payments. Now they have me 3 months behind. I kept making payments. This month, Aug. 2, 2013, I pay my payment. 8 days later, I get my payment back stating I need to pay over $2,000 now. As of this month, it makes me 4 months behind! I have been working with them for a forbearance plan. Now the loan specialist or my other specialist doesn't return my calls or email. Yesterday, Aug. 12, 2013, I finally spoke to someone. When I asked why my payment was returned, he said I had to pay the $2000. I told him, "I don't have $2000 and that's why I applied for forbearance."

He shrugged it off!! I asked if I would be going into foreclosure. He replied, "Work with the specialist and loan specialist still no ans. to my questions. Called Ana - no ans. Called Kashundalin **, loan sp. several times, no call back. Emailed him, no ans. I feel like I was tricked into getting 4 mo. behind so they can forclose on me. I, too have been trying to get a modification since May 2012 to no avail. When I first called I was told they have to take some information from me and then submit it to see if I qualify and if I qualify I will receive the modification packet in the mail. Months went by and no response from B of A until August I received a letter saying I've been assigned a relationship manager. I tried calling the relationship manager numerous times every week but only got her voicemail. A few weeks after receiving the letter advising of my assigned relationship manager, I received another letter stating that she is no longer assigned. A few weeks after that, again, I received a other letter stating she was assigned then a couple days after that again, another letter saying she was no longer assigned. I then, a week later, received another letter saying my modification was cancelled because documents were requested and I did not provide them. I became very confused by that letter because NO ONE requested any documents from me whether via phone or mail.

I then called B of A again in October 2012 to inquire what is going on with my modification only to be told that u need to complete documents. I did not complain, I completed the documents and sent them back promptly. A week later the new assigned relationship manager told me it was not approved because it does not show the need even though on my income worksheet and my bills it shows I am short over $1000/month in income for bills. I also went as far as explaining to the new assigned relationship manager that I am a newly grad and was to finalize my divorce plus I was out of work for 7 months and the new job I work now is not even half the income I use to make when I purchased my home. The assigned RM states she would go back to the underwriters to have them revisit my file and asked me to fax a copy of my divorce decree.

I faxed the decree and here it is 2 months later and I a yet to get an answer instead eh keep going back and forth telling me all kinds of excuses with the latest excuse being that "your ex husband was not on the lien so that won't make you qualify for the modification". I became very upset and told the assigned RM I will be reporting B of A for their shady practice and worse I am struggling to decide "should I pay my heating bill or should I pay my mortgage or should I buy food to eat or should I pay my student loans". These shady practices by B of A has to stop"!!!!! Now, fast-forward to August 13, 2013 - The ending of May 2013 I received a letter from BofA stating they sold my mortgage to Nationstar. Keep in mind, I just completed the pre-modification trial and now awaiting my final modification. I was told by BofA that my trial was for 3 months, which I completed.

I contacted the number listed for Nationstar, listed in the first and only letter BofA sent me in May 2013 advising they sold my loan to Nationstar. When I contacted Nationstar, I was told that I did not complete the pre-modification trial. Now, you can bet your bottom dollar I was livid. Livid because, the 3 months trial, BofA automatically debited my checking account for the amount that my trial was set for. To this date, Nationstar still states that I did not complete the trial and is now 5 months behind my mortgage. By this time, I am FUMING! I asked the representative how in the world can I be 5 months behind when BofA debited my checking account on May 1, 2013 for my 3rd and final pre-modification trial and I was also advised that I completed the trial in May 2013. The 100th representative I spoke with gave me the same falsify story that they do not have all the information they need from BofA and that it is a system error.

I have asked to speak with a supervisor on numerous calls and I was refused that right. For someone as myself that pay my bills, and WAS NEVER LATE ON MY MORTGAGE, (I applied for the modification to get a lower monthly payment, due to being laid off from the bank in 2011, and the job that I now have is merely a fraction of what I use to make, and can no longer afford to pay the full amount of the mortgage, plus student loans, and utilities. I have to deciding if I should buy food, or pay utilities, or pay student loans, or pay mortgage), these unfair and stress from these TOO BIG TO FAIL BANKS on the little people is INSANE AND WILL DRIVE ANYONE TO DRINK. There need to be a stop to his madness!!! I need someone to get in touch with these companies and get these issues worked out so I can put my concentration back to finding a better paying job!!! I can't give Nationstar a 5 star recommendation only because our time dealing with them has been very short. However, we had a home built earlier this year and our builder told us that within a few months our mortgage would be transferred. Toward the middle of July we got a letter stating that Nationstar would take over our mortgage on August 1st. The letter gave us our loan number with Nationstar, where to make a payment etc and stated that we would receive a packet from Nationstar shortly.

Near the end of July we received a welcome letter from them with info for logging in, telephone number to call for questions, etc and it stated that we would soon receive a welcome packet. Today, August 12th, we received the packet. Since we make our payments due on the 1st during the middle of the month prior and we had the original letter from the builder giving payment info for Nationstar we weren't concerned about getting the packet right away. On August 3rd we were able to log into our account and all figures match that of the final statement printout form the builder.

Instructions in the packet include how to pay online at their website (for no charge), a payment coupon if we want to send it by mail (which we would never do) in addition to other payment choices. There was also information pertaining to our account. I had already set them up as a payee in our bank account so that they can be sent our payment electronically through the bank or on their website. I just made our Sept payment online at their site and there is no charge. In order to not have a charge you must be making your payment no later than 10 days late. This one was about 19 days earlier than due date. I do believe that anyone complaining about this company may possibly have one of the following issues:

    1. Not taking a proactive stance on your loan obligation.
    2. Not thoroughly reading or paying attention to instructions.
    3. Account transferred from a company that was not as efficient as our builder.
    4. Late payments

    5. Not computer savvy - it's the best way to do things these days and if done correctly can save much hassle.

We have no issues with them at this point. We'll wait to see if that changes at the end of the year when it is time to review the escrow amounts for ins and taxes on future payments on our VA loan. I hope everyone can have as good as an experience as we have had so far.

Updated 01/17/2015: On Aug 13, 2013 I originally wrote a review about Nationstar giving them 4 stars because we had just had our builder's mortgage transferred to them and had not had much experience with them at that point so didn't have knowledge to rate them higher. I still believe in my rating comments that many issues with this or any other company are due to many factors: Not taking a proactive stance on your loan obligation. Not thoroughly reading or paying attention to instructions. Late payments. Not computer savvy the best way to do things these days and if done correctly can save much hassle. In addition to Government Regulations, human error, possibly a transfer that wasn't as efficient as ours and other things I might not have mentioned.

Everything has not gone totally smooth during this past year and a half but I can say the outcome itself has been 5 stars. The 4 star rating is for the issues in general. We make our payments in one month for the payment due on the 1st the following month so the payments are always early. We nearly always pay them through our banks bill pay while sometimes we pay directly on the Nationstar website. Fall of 2013 all goes as expected but since I am very proactive I check the site every month after I have made the payment to make sure that it has posted. This takes only a couple of minutes and is worth the effort.

In Dec 2013 we received a large check from Nationstar with a letter stating that our escrow had been overpaid and that beginning Jan 2014 our payment would be lowered. The amount was about $200.00 a month. My husband and I discussed the fact that I really felt something was not right but since our payments were posting and everything was going along we thought maybe we missed something and they knew better than we did.

Fast forward to Sept 2014 when our county tax bill arrives. I went onto the website to see if they had made the payment to the county. I wasn't totally familiar with this process as we had never had a mortgage before that included the taxes /insurance being paid by the mortgage company. The payment hadn't been made yet (actually wasn't due until Nov) but our escrow balance was not near enough to cover the tax bill.

Light Bulb goes on!!! We believe that they had used the previous tax amount for an empty lot not with the estimated house taxes as the builder had calculated which is how we ended up with the check the past Dec and lower payments for 2014. I was not a happy camper so I called Nationstar and talked with a very helpful lady in the escrow department. You need to be sure to talk with the correct dept. She explained how it works and that if the balance is short at review time in December the amount still due will get tacked onto next years payment in addition to a payment hike for the actual amount the escrow should be. As a preliminary calculation we figured the payment would go up nearly $400.00. I told her that I wanted the payment to be about the amount that the original mortgage was with the builder since those are figures we had originally counted on. She told me that we would have to pay the negative balance of the escrow for that to happen.

So the plan was to make extra escrow payments with the regular payments in Oct, Nov and Dec so that we had it paid. Oct and Nov go without a hitch. Come December the review of the escrow account is before we make the final shortage payment so it already showed in our account online that the payment in Jan will be higher than we want it to be. I know how they got that and as long as I paid the amount still short that payment would be adjusted. My problem was that when I would make the payment in Dec (for Jan) I would be making an incorrect payment based on the newly calculated amount for 2015 that didn't take into account that I would be paying the balance of the shortage.

I couldn't make the payment through my bank account since there was no way to add on the escrow and if I went online to make the payment as I had in Oct and Nov so I could add the escrow, the regular payment would be wrong. So, I called again and they gave me an address to send the escrow payment. After that the correct payment due in Jan would be calculated. I sent the payment online through my bank to the address given. When I checked the site to see if it posted it had posted as a principal payment. The holidays were upon us and I knew that there would be a time crunch in order for everything to get done before my Jan payment was due. I used the message center on the site, which works like a charm and they replied with the fact that they would reverse the payment and apply it to the escrow all dated the original payment date and then they would recalculate the 2015 payment amount. They took care of everything exactly as stated and before the ringing in of the New Year I had made the Jan payment for the correct amount.

Anything can happen anywhere at any time, a computer glitch, a power outage, short on help when everyone is sick, etc. etc. and there will be mistakes but you are never more in control than when you are proactively being in control. Yes things will fall through the cracks since we are all human but when we, the consumer, take the effort to be responsible for ourselves, the issues are far less common. Nationstar can’t babysit us, if we are old enough to sign a contract we certainly should be doing it by reading, asking questions, checking the situation and doing everything to be sure it is what we expect. They made a mistake and they fixed it, which is all I can ask for beyond expecting everything to be perfect and that isn't going to happen any millennium soon. I am still very happy with their company at this point.

I recently became acquainted with Nationstar while trying to help a friend foreclosed on by this wonderful institution.. She lost her home last week at the Trustee Sale. They have only one objective and that is to foreclose on your property. They find it almost "painful" in posting borrowers mortgage payment. If you somehow manage to get your payment posted at all, they will somehow show it was late and charge you a late fee, or at the very least nail you with the $15.00 pmt acceptance fee. Trying to get a Loan Modification with these folks is almost asking for a Notice of Default to be filed. If you are behind in payments with this lender, I would strongly suggest obtaining legal advice now, so you don't end of like my girlfriend and her children, waiting for the "30 Notice to Vacate" to be posted on the door.

One more thing to ponder, seems a little fishy that BOA sold so many of their loans to these wonderful folks since recent allegations against BOA claims bank employees received kick-backs and bonuses for the number of foreclosures they processed for the month. BOA are the guys who started the ball rolling for my friend when she applied for a Loan Modification. She was current on her mortgage when she was told she had to be 2 mos delinquent to qualify for program. Several months and a couple of trees in paperwork later, they deny her and sell her off to these sharks to finish her off. The thing that truly surprises me is why the BOA employee would give up the "foreclosure bonus" she worked so fraudulently for. Maybe Nationstar will send her some of your $15.00 payment processing checks their screwing borrowers out of, and call it even.

We've received the annoying "courtesy" calls, trying to get detailed information on our account has been a challenge, and frankly, the fact that I have to pay to pay my mortgage (that is not a typo - they charge you to pay your mortgage online while making it difficult to mail in a payment by check) is ridiculous. But the reason I give them a one-star rating and not a two - though I wish no stars was an option - is that their system is constantly down for maintenance, making it nigh on impossible to make payments.

Our story is very much the same as another...Our Bank of America home mortgage was sold to Nationstar in June 2013. I was disappointed that our loan was sold since we bank with BOA and it was easy to make our payments by transferring money from our checking account to our mortgage acct. I ALWAYS made our payments online by the 15th and never had any issues, but the 1st time I tried to make a payment with Nationstar it seemed like they charged a fee for online payments and/or telephone payments.

When I first called them I was told that payments had to be made by the 10th to avoid a fee for making a payment. REALLY????? Never heard of that before. Then the next month they called my husband 2 times on the 7th to let him know that his payment was late and then AGAIN on the 8th to tell him the same thing!!!!! What harassment! When I tried to make our payment online on 8/10/13, their website said there was a $9 fee for making a payment. How is that possible? So I called and spoke to a guy who said after I questioned him that there was a glitch in their system and I could make a payment with him and avoid the fee.

It appears they are trying to make some extra money by charging extra fees here and there. HOW IS THAT OKAY??? If they want our money why do they make it so difficult to pay them? I am not impressed with NS either. My husband suggested we refinance to get away from them, but I don't think a lender should be able to treat customers badly and force us to refinance, force us to record our calls with them as proof of conversation or hire an attorney to protect our interest. Maybe NATIONSTAR should have their mortgages serviced by another company, someone who knows about customer service.

With service like this NOBODY should ever use them for anything!!! Considering all I am reading I will NEVER mail them a check. That would just allow the possibility of the check getting lost and them charging a late fee or hitting you with a 30 day late! You need to cover yourself and not give them an inch. How sad we are treated like this and just have to take it. I would love to hear about some class action suit...someone needs to hold this company accountable for ALL their actions.

Nationstar Mortgage may operate "on this side of the law" but its business model and practices, in my experience, are unethical. For the past 16 months my interaction with at least 20 named Nationstar representatives (with titles such as Loan Counselor, Single Point of Contact, Customer Relations Specialist, Foreclosure Prevention Specialist, etc) and unknown numbers of supervisors, underwriters and telephone representatives have been, with about three notable exceptions, characterized by confusion, cavalier disinterest, lack of knowledge, refusal to assume responsibility, presumption that customers are fools or dishonest, and, dare I say it, incompetence.

After 16 months, I believe Nationstar is purposeful in its dealings, and its purpose is to maximize its profits while minimizing its service, rhetoric to the contrary. I am fortunate. After 16 months of stress and misery, I have a HAMP Tier II loan modification and a correction to my credit rating. The efforts it took to get to this point are appalling, and underscore that Nationstar absolutely does not care (expletive deleted).

To summarize my experiences, in May 2012 I applied for, and received, an in-house 2-year loan modification which I accepted, signed, had notarized, and returned. The mortgage was current at the time of the modification, and was paid, according to the terms of the modification, each month in full and on time from July 2012 onward. However, Nationstar never recorded the modification, then asked that I send the original paperwork again (which I did in July and again in August). Finally, in September, 2012 Nationstar "FOUND" the original paperwork and agreed to honor it (why this was a favor is unclear).

At that time a Nationstar representative suggested that it would be better for me to apply for a permanent modification through HAMP. Since I had an in-house modification (which reduced my interest rate by more than 5%) this seemed a reasonable suggestion.

In October I prepared the HAMP documents, added the documentation submitted in May for the in-house modification, and submitted it to 5 named Nationstar representatives. Now the fun really begins. Months of requests for one more thing, missing documents, lost documents, replacement of outdated documents, etc. followed. Finally, in February, 2013 I was notified that I was ineligible for a HAMP modification, and almost simultaneously, that I had been approved for a HAMP Tier II modification. Since Nationstar knew as a going-in proposition that the modification was on a rental property, this elapsed time and processing is mysterious.

When the HAMP Tier II modification was offered, with a 3-month trial period, I grabbed it. When the 3-month trial ended, I complied with Nationstar's 10-day turnaround deadline to sign and notarize the modification. However, I had serious questions, so attached a covering memorandum requesting clarification -- specifically, given the in-house modification and a year of on-time and in-full payments under that modification and the trial period, why was the new loan principal thousands of dollars more than the original mortgage. That was on June 11.

By June 25 Nationstar had not acknowledged either my memo or receipt of the signed and notarized modification documents. So, I wrote an e-mail, to which I attached the June 11 memorandum and a second memo restating my questions, to three Nationstar representatives. In this case I received both a phone call and a letter, stating Nationstar would answer by July 25. Around July 25 I received a second letter stating Nationstar would answer by August 2. It is now August 9. Surprise, no letter.

Given the history of this situation, in July I finally wrote up the case and submitted a complaint to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). The CFPB has responded, and has sent the complaint to Nationstar. Nationstar has notified me it will respond to me by August 8. Shall we take odds of when it will be August 8? Under the circumstances, one must consider whether filing complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the Consumer Protection Office within the Office of the Texas Attorney General would have any utility.

Let me also add that Nationstar's handling of this mortgage had serious negative implications for my credit score, and that, following nearly 6 months of pressure from me, during which Nationstar initially did nothing and did not respond, then proposed to "fix" everything after the HAMP modification was completed. Confirmed to the credit bureaus when they investigated (at my behest) that Nationstar negative reporting of delinquent payments was correct, and only after numerous entreaties, modified its reporting. There appeared to be little appreciation of or concern about the damage Nationstar's erroneous reporting did to my general credit worthiness, and thus to my financial situation.

Obtaining a HAMP modification should never have been so difficult. No customer should have to go through what I did, and what, apparently, many others have. Such corporate behavior should be investigated and censured.

My loan was transferred from BofA as of July 2013 so the very first check I sent via mail, it was cashed. Second due date August 1st, I made an automatic scheduled transfer to go through for July 31st. It went into being transferred but then got reversed back into my BofA account. I was checking on Aug 1, where it said it was in process of going through.

I thought everything was fine. Today Aug 8th, I received a call in regards to payment due. That is when I discovered it had been reversed to my BofA account. The message on my answering machine gave a number and a message code. I called and pushed in the code (4 times). Message code did not work and I was then told to call a different number. Before I called this number I tried to make a immediate payment on my Nationstar, my account, they could not receive my payment at this time, and gave an error code 3314.

So now I called the second number and here I spoke to Brenda. Brenda could not explain why my payment had been reversed back to BofA but I could make a payment with her. I proceeded to give her my BofA account number, she then said the transaction fee via phone was $15. I said, "No way, your message code for making a payment via phone did not work, your online payment does not work. The number given in case of error codes was this so I am NOT paying you $15." She then said, "OK I will drop it to $7:50." Again NO WAY.. I am not paying anything to make my payment when your system is NOT working. She said, they will waive the fees this one time.

Well isn't that nice!!! Anyway I have now set up a new payment via BILL PAY via BofA, I am printing every piece of paper and proof of that I am doing my job in being on time. They seem to have a major problem or a "scam" to make the extra fees when they are the ones not having their ducks in a row. I see a big class action lawsuit being filed against this company pretty soon if they do not change their ways.

We then called the ins. company back and they said they did not accept wire transfers, so we call Nationstar back and heard the, "I'm sorry we mailed it." As of today, 8/8/2013, our policy has been canceled, unless we come out of pocket to keep it going until the payment is received. After reading the 820+ bad reviews on these crooks, I have zero confidence that they have made the payment. Is there a class action lawsuit being filed. If so sign me up. Never had any problems, always made payments on time, made sure there was more than enough in escrow. Bank of America sells my mortgage to Nationstar and now this. Shame on all of them.

My BoA home mortgage was sold to NationStar in June 2013 like millions of others. I was not behind in my payments, I was not in foreclosure... My account was and always had been in good standing. Needless to say, I am not impressed with NS at all. My payment is the same +/- $5 however now, starting on the 7th of every month, I get "courtesy calls" several times a day. Yes, the payment is due on the first however it is not considered late until the 16th. I bank with Wells Fargo and they cannot send NS the money via bill pay because of NS. So it takes 5-7 days to get there. I called today to find out what I can do to make the calls stop. Or at least slow in frequency. My only option is do a "cease and desist" with NS however that also means that no matter what the issue, I will no longer receive any communication from them. This isn't feasible or viable for someone actually paying their mortgage. Time to look into a refi I think.

I was told in the beginning by Cristina that Nationstar would have to contact us and talk about options which Nationstar didn't do! I have asked for Nationstar to cancel recorded foreclosure and submit a letter to us. Cristina stated that Nationstar doesn't do that.

I want the following: Recorded Foreclosure Cancel and Letter stating Nationstar made a mistake. Drop extra escrow fees of $3,376.63 and Nationstar pays all attorney fees. Letter stating that all escrow fees dropped and that Nationstar will pay attorney fee's. Loan Modification at March's interest rate. I have turned Nationstar into the following agencies: Bank of New York Mellon F/K/A The Bank of New York, Attorney General of California, Better Business Bureau, Attorney General of the United States of America and Consumer Affairs. I had Bank of America and they transferred my mortgage loan over to Nationstar a few months back. I am attempting to refinance with another bank and Nationstar has put up roadblocks to prevent me from leaving. They have called me up to four times a day on some days, emailed me and send an overnight Fed Ex letter asking me to refinance with them. I told them I was working with another bank to refinance and to please stop asking, they didn't. My new bank requested a verification of mortgage on 6/28. Nationstar says they will send within four business days. On July 8th after they said they cannot accept my personal check and told my bank they needed a cashier's check, a cashier's check was sent on that day.

On July 22nd my bank called them again after not receiving the VOM. Nationstar told them that it was sent on the 17th of July so we should expect it any day. On July 26th, still nothing. At that point I called them and they told me that the bank did not send them the proper request so it was never sent. Of course they had no record of telling the bank it was sent out on 7/17. I requested they send it immediately and they said they would. I also requested they send my personal check back which they refused to accept and I was told they would do so. On 7/29 I called and spoke with a supervisor and asked her to verify the VOM was sent and this supervisor also gave me the address they sent it to which was my bank. She verified it was sent on 7/26 but said they never received my personal check so they would not be sending it back to me. I told her I spoke with a staff member there on 7/26 and she confirmed they had my check and would send it back. She said they had no documentation of my call at all on 7/26.

On 8/1/13 we still received no VOM so I called again and asked that it be faxed to me. I was again assured by the staff member that my VOM was there and prepared. He said he would fax it to me and guaranteed me that I would receive it within 24 hours maximum. Of course on 8/2 no fax had arrived. My bank then called and they said they would fax it to them. They never did. I called at the end of the day on 8/2 and told the staff member that I would remain on the line while he faxes it to me so I would be sure to receive it. He put me on hold for over a half hour and then gave me to a supervisor, someone different than the first supervisor that I spoke with on 7/29. He then proceeded to tell me that they did not actually have my VOM because it was attached to someone else's loan so they could not even send it!

I explained to him all of the requests that were made, the confirmation numbers we were given and a letter I received saying that is was sent in July. He had no comment and just restated that it was not sent and would need to be sent to their research department again. I explained that my rate guarantee had already run out and I was on an extension until 8/8. If I do not have this refinance loan closed by then I will lose my rate and they have all gone up now. I will also lose all of the money for the appraisal, credit check, etc. that I have stuck into this as it is non-refundable. He said there was nothing he could do to put a rush on it and gave me no other assistance.

This place is just a nightmare to work with. You talk with someone different each time. They won't give you their last name or direct line so the next time you call back, you start all over with another person who has yet a different story to tell you. They just keep you in this vicious cycle. I believe they are doing this to prevent me from leaving them as no place could be this incompetent. They have caused me great hardship in losing this rate and the money I put up front. They never did refund the money for the two checks I sent for the VOM which they never sent. This is just unbelievable.

I have been a homeowner for 25 years (300 payments). Over that time period, I have never had a late payment, not until my mortgage was sold to Nationstar. Nationstar seems to think I need monthly repeated telephone reminders to pay my mortgage. Thus far, I have made 5 monthly payments. The first 4 were mailed and received within 3-5 days before posting as received, the latest of which posted on the 12th. The last payment made was mailed on the 8th, but according to them, they didn't receive until 11 days later, on the 18th, and charged me a late fee. Somehow, I don't believe my check suddenly took 11 days to arrive when the rest took less than half the time! I am suspicious that they deliberately held off on posting my check just so they could assess a bogus late fee. We were accepted and put on a 3-month trial period, conditions that all payments had to be on a timely basis, and by certified funds! Payment No. 1, no problems. Payment No. 2, never received by Nationstar according to them! The check was not cashed nor was it ever returned to sender! We’re disqualified because of that payment never being received! I had been mailing them mortgage checks for 5 years and never had a lost payment, until then! Since we were not eligible for that program, they "helped" us out by putting us into an "in" house modification of an interest only loan for a 1-yr period!

At the end of this year we received a letter stating the modification period was over and they were returning us to a corrected loan payment of $$2827.57 principal & interest payment ( $1000.00 higher than the modified payment) and at an interest rate of 9.120%. If that caused us a financial hardship, to contact our Assigned Foreclosure Prevention Specialist with a phone number! Of course I only received a voice mail message, that he was not at his desk at this time, to leave a message! I finally was transferred to another party and told I could apply to the HAMP program, but it may take me 3-4 months for paperwork to process. I would be better served to try an "in" house modification! I requested the paperwork for the HAMP program, filled it all out and submitted it via fax and had been told it was forwarded to the review dept.

I was notified last week that they are missing some documents and had to resubmit those at once! I have sought outside help through my State and they have filled out and filed these papers with Nationstar. So they can't say they were never received! I pray that this phase 2 HAMP program will approve us and render some help! We are senior citizens and desperately want to stay in our home, at an affordable rate!

I was with Countrywide and BOA and now Nationboobs. I have not made a house payment in almost two years. I have been waiting for them to foreclose as they have threatened in the at least 50 packages I have received in the mail. I thought BOA was bad, but Nationstar makes them look like winners. On June 6, I received a one-page letter saying some attorney in VA Beach was going to foreclose. Never heard anything else from him. Since then I have received more mod offers, letters saying I notified them I changed my mind on the mod offer, letters saying the mod was declined because I requested that it not be approved, blah, blah, blah. I must have received at least 25 Notices of Intent to Foreclose and mod offers that they waste money sending Certified and in regular mail and by Fed Ex ad nauseum.

Problem is I NEVER contacted them about anything at any time ever. Never requested a mod, never declined a mod, never had any contact at all with them. They just sent the standard roach in the airline food letters, I guess. They are so screwed up. They tried to get me to make trial payments and gave me a deadline. When I missed the deadline, they sent me another package with a new deadline . . . over an over, always scamming for the "trial payments" before they turn you down, trying to suck a little extra money out of you before they foreclose anyway. Homey didn't fall for that trap. I finally got sick of waiting for them to foreclose and bought a little spot in Florida that I am moving to the middle of next month. I turned off the utilities effective my move-out date and thought I would let them know I was vacating and they didn't have to spend money foreclosing.

Today I tried to call them. . . after listening to the robot give the same spiel over and over and trying to dial the extension I was given for my Nationstar Dedicated Loan Specialist Quinetta ** at ext ** and having the call dropped as soon as I was finally allowed to dial it after listening to the endless recording and options, and calling back three times, I finally got through to someone in the wrong department, who stayed on the line and transferred me to the "Bankruptcy" department, Kyesten (not allowed to give her last name) told me that I didn't need to do anything. That the house was in an active foreclosure and that was that. Of course, there will be no record of my conversation with snotty little Kyesten.

I asked why they wouldn't want to know that I was vacating, and that the house will be sitting empty with no electricity. She didn't seem to give a rat's. I've never received a formal foreclosure notice, just the endless intents to foreclose, no sign on the door, notta'. So I don't know if she's full of it, doesn't care or it really is too late to avoid foreclosure -- and I don't care if it is as I already have a discharged bankruptcy from over a year ago that included this $302K house that I've put another $100K into and still needs another $80K to finish it and is now worth $228. I pity the fool that buys it, but I no longer care about Nationstar, the house or any of the rest of it. I've got a big old palm tree in my new front yard down in Florida and I am glad to be rid of the $2200 a month in first and second mortgages for a house that's not really worth anything and won't be in my lifetime. Buh-bye, Nationstar.

I started procedure for the HAMP on March 16th and it has been the most frustrating experience ever! Not one single call was ever returned (I have left over 6 messages to my SPOC in 1 day). I have been misinformed by every single Customer Rep that has picked up the phone (that is after a minimum of 1 hour waiting time and on 1 occasion was on hold 2 hours 18 minutes and the person said they needed to transfer me and hung up)!!! Every time I call I get a different excuse from "we haven't received your paperwork" (I have confirmations of every single fax and email) to "we are very busy and your application is still under review" to "you have been DENIED!!" Denial reason not valid as far as I am concerned.

Last call I was told I can just foreclose, short sale or sign over my mortgage to them!! Well, I think I need to get an attorney involved... Funny thing is, I am only 2 weeks late on my mortgage payment after NEVER sending in a late payment in 6 years since I bought my home. Has anyone had any positive results with these people???

I have been a BAC customer for the past 3 years and NEVER had a single late payment or any other type of problem with my mortgage. On 6/4/2013, Nationstar Mortgage purchased my mortgage, and already they have tried to scam me twice! First they tried to charge me a $79 late fee on the very first payment! When I called, the lady told me that the late charge came over from BAC. I pulled up my bank account while I was on the phone with her and informed her that my last payment to BAC had actually been made a day EARLY, not LATE. She then said they would "forgive" the late payment because I was within the 61-day grace period on the loan transfer. Gee...THANKS!!!

Now I have received a letter from Nationstar telling me that my HO insurance policy "has either expired, cancelled, or non-renewed on 6/23/2013". Then they go on to inform me that if a replacement policy is not produced by 8/10/2013, then they will be "forced to obtain coverage to protect our interest in your property." Translation: Nationstar will purchase a HO insurance policy for my home, probably from one of their subsidiary companies, for an inflated rate.

I called my insurance agent and he said that sure enough, BAC did not make the payment on my policy. I checked my Nationstar documents and found that they have $1,340.71 in transferred escrow sitting in their account! No wonder why BAC didn't make the payment...This seems to be a bad omen of things to come... Any class-action lawsuits already filed against this company?

I have fought with Bank of America BOA since 2010 after losing my job during recovery of a double mastectomy (quite the injustice). I am a single mother of 3 children, 2 that are still residing in the home with me while working and attending school. After years of being plagued by scamming correspondence (which I kept all the correspondence and intend to send it all to the Texas Attorney General) and threats of foreclosure on March 26, 2013, BOA and I finally reached an agreement of $1048.34 starting on May 1st, 2013 (Fixed Interest rate of 2%!). Of course the loan goes through a ridiculous 2053 (I would be 93) however, I can deal with it since I plan to sell in a couple years, after improving my credit due to BOA screwing it up!

The pain that I endured (yes, injustice again) when I tried to be proactive and honest was unbearable and I was constantly frothed with fear that I was going to get cancer again from all the stress. Again after years of this torment, I was elated to get it all settled. THEN they sell my loan to your company: I begin to get inundated with correspondence (just like with BOA). When I tried to make a payment online I found out I can only do that if I pay Western Union a fee???!!! Part of the correspondence said I owed you guys over $9000 on August 1st. Also said that due to my ARM (I have a FIXED rate) my payment was going up $700+ dollars. Did you plan to change the conditions of the loan arbitrarily?

SO here I am again getting physically ill and stressed out. Contacted your customer service (talked with Cussia ** after I talking to a couple others who were clueless) Clueless?? Why take over an account you are to service when you don't have any accurate information? You sending me correspondence that is erroneous has caused me to be ill, physically and emotionally. Frankly I am fed up with this nonsense and no one is responsible????!!!!! I am fed up with taking MY time and trying to fix it. Talking to people who have NO IDEA what is going on. Getting horrible, erroneous mail from your company. Being charged to take a payment monthly. Have you reviewed your online reputation? 98% is NEGATIVE! CHECK THEM OUT. https://www.consumeraffairs.com/finance/nationstar_mortgage.html. One horror story after another on this web-site. Sadly, I fall into the same bucket as them.

I am PLEADING with our officials to PLEASE check into this company and how they are handling the already painful experience we have had with BOA to have to NOW go through all this with Nationstar is inhumane and criminal!! Somebody needs to pay for the pain and agony that BOA and NOW Nationstar is putting us through.

Where do I even start? Well, in October 2012, we had fallen 3 months behind on our mortgage. I had contacted a company to help me with a loan modification and it was okay'd through Nationstar mortgage. I had to pay these people 900.00 for 3 months to show Nationstar that I could make the payments. Well, the 6 months was up and lo and behold, I found out from family members that my home was in the newspaper for foreclosure.

I tried contacting National Legal Assistance and come to find out the numbers that I had been given were no longer in service. When I contacted NationStar to let them know that my husband and I were involved in a scam, there was nothing that they could do for us. They however did tell me to put in for a loan modification, but nothing was ever sent back to me and the foreclosure process was well on its way. In Michigan, we have what is known as the step forward or hardest hit program. This program helps homeowners become current on their mortgage. I had 3 weeks before my sheriff sale and the Friday prior to the sale, Nationstar still had not given this program what they needed as far as my amount. It is now July 30th and I am now just being told that as of July 26th, our prayers have been answered and we were approved for the grant and they wanted to go through my payment dates.

Here is the worst thing: the home was already sold back to Nationstar mortgage for 15,000 less than what we owe. My complaint is where is anyone to help victims if they can prove they were scammed, and why couldn't Nationstar push out the sale of our home? The biggest thing is they sent this information to the government without a sale date, indicating to these people that we still had a mortgage. I am now in my redemption period and not at all pleased that there is no one you can turn to help track down the scammers or get any kind of help from these mortgage companies....

Thank God I got out when I did. My mortgage was sold to Nationstar in 2009. My mortgage, for some reason, shot up to an astronomical amount that I could not pay. After trying to negotiate, it became apparent that was not going to happen. When I was served with foreclosure papers, I decided to fight back and had my attorney call them and put them on speaker phone. They were surprised I had done this, but he held his ground. Later they called me at home and asked what I wanted. I told them they could have the house back and I wanted to participate in their deed/lieu program, and they agreed. I also had a second mortgage with the city and they agreed to call them and see if they would take a smaller payment and close out the second mortgage.

To my surprise they did, and Nationstar gave them half of the money from the program. I was in touch with my rep every step of the way and she made herself available. I moved out in the time frame, cleaned up the house, and emailed her with pictures of the empty house showing nothing was damaged and it was in the original condition. The next day, I got a check at my new house from them through FedEx. And true to her word, it is not showing on my credit report to this day. I am so glad I gave up the house four years ago because reading these complaints made me think I got the only reputable agent that worked there.

My mortgage was sold to Nationstar by Bank of America as of 5/1/13. While I did have some trouble with Bank of A, I kept on them with phone calls and documentation, resulting in a loan modification. Subsequently, medical expenses caused me to fall behind, so I applied for forbearance (Bank of A would take the arrearage and put it on the end of the loan, so I wasn't trying to get out of paying). When I moved to Nationstar, I called for instructions based on my situation. I spoke with a man who reviewed what docs were needed and what fax # to use. He assured me that the fax # would get my info directly to him.

I faxed a packet on 5/24/13. Following that, I received multiple letters, informing me each time of a different Special Point of Contact (SPOC). When I called these people and left messages, they were never returned, so I ended up calling almost daily and talking to whatever rep answered. I documented each name and time of call. I was repeatedly given conflicting answers as to the status of my file, since I was told it was in underwriting then I was told that they sent it back.

Finally, I got someone who told me my initial SPOC did not enter my information until 6/6/13 despite having it on 5/24. I was anxious, as an auction had been scheduled and my request to expedite my file was denied. I was also informed that my file kept getting sent back because they needed my "year-to-date profit and loss for my fram (sic) business". A rep and I figured out that they must have meant "farm", which was of little consolation, since I have never had any connection with a farm. They had me write a special letter, assuring them that there was no farm (my tax returns reflect a single income source and are quite straight-forward).

Then, one rep blamed me for putting too much info into the letter and speculated that the underwriters probably "didn't read the whole thing"! Ultimately, I was assured that I was under review and to call back in a couple days (which was the date of the auction). When I told the rep that, he replied, "We're not worried about the auction. The underwriters can postpone it. They do it all the time." Well, I called the following day and got a rep who told me that within that last half hour, my file was denied because it was too close to the auction! Luckily, I was able to obtain an injunction from the Court to postpone the sale.

Nationstar has actively engaged in unethical, improper, and untrue practices in order to "run down the clock" until foreclosure. They don't care about honest reviews of circumstances. I am a hard-working person with an 828 sq ft condo that I am trying to keep. I'm not asking for special treatment, but the HAMP program should be implemented appropriately by lenders. Those of us with modest homes are the ones that HAMP was designed to help.

Nationstar is a shameful greedy company whose primary goal is to make money on every loan they buy. Obviously, I am not saying that they shouldn't make a profit, but they are obligated to review each case in good faith. My circumstances are perfect for simply allowing me to stay in my home and still be responsible for the entire loan amount. Nationstar DOES NOT reach out to people, so I recommend calling them daily, if you have to and document everything!

I find it interesting that a bank can debit immediately any transaction I make, but, you two cannot coordinate a smooth transition. Amazing in this day of technology. Also, I do not appreciate the uncooperative behavior and attitude of your "debt collectors." They should be trained on the difference between a customer service representative and "debt collector." By the way, I own a mortgage, big difference over a debt collection. I am not behind in my payments. As a business, when I ask for the person's name and spelling I am speaking to, I expect them to cooperate and not tell me no, they refuse to provide the information requested. No business operates that way unless they are a "debt collector". Natonstar insults me. Yes, I am angry and find your treatment of YOUR CUSTOMERS as unprofessional. In October of 2012, BOA sold our mortgage to Nationstar. We did not receive notice from Nationstar until mid-January. In the meantime we paid our Mortgage to BOA and they would forward it to Nationstar. So they told me. In December of 2012, they refused to accept payment, told me to call this certain number and pay it that way. Now at that time we did not even know who THEY were. I called the number they gave me. The person at the other end said, "Oh I'm sorry; you'll have to wait for the papers on this."

In Mid-January we received a notice from Nationstar stating we owed them X amount of monies. They had brought up our Mortgage payments by thirty something dollars. I asked why since taxes hadn't gone up or home insurance either. Nothing had gone up. The person replied, "Well now this is your new amount." No explanation, nothing. They also stated that since they hadn't received full payment from BOA in December that we were now 1 month behind. They had received $45.00, from BOA. He also suggested that we begin paying bi-monthly to catch up. In January, I sent 1 payment of $600.00. Then next one was remainder by the end of January.

My contract was until the end of January with BOA in the amount of our regular mortgage. Because of his suggestion of paying bi-monthly, I began paying that way including the amount of their hike. Everything was going well until one day a man from Nationstar called me and said, "You will never catch up this way." Which I would have by making double mortgage payments in one month. Which would have been in JUNE. He asked my age, whether I was retired or not, etc. Then he said, "OMG you qualify for a Loan Re-Modification. Let's get the ball rolling here." Worse mistake I ever made in my life.

He sent me a package with all the required papers. I got all the documents together and faxed them to him personally. His fax #. I asked for a Mortgage Statement every month so I could mail my payments in. I forgot to state this earlier in my note. You would laugh at what they sent me. Sheets of paper copied with 4 payment coupons on them which I have to cut with scissors every month. No envelopes, nothing. Just copied amount of Mortgage and that's it. I could have done a better job copying them on my home printer. If you call in a payment, they overcharge you to do this. Either $15.00 or $25.00. Since my Mortgage had gone up I would not do this. I mailed in.

My Bank has kept track and so have I. After sending and still sending the same documents needed for the loan re-modification nothing has moved. I have sent them 6 packages with all the information they've asked for at my cost. My Bank got aggravated as well as I and offered to send them the Documents through their system. I just received another letter from them asking for more Documents, the same ones I have sent numerous times. Last week I called for a status report on my loan. The man replied, "It's at the underwriters being reviewed." If it's being reviewed why send me another letter to ask me for the same thing again and again.

The Government needs to be made aware of being played for fools by this Company. After all the Loan Re-Modification is by the Government, a program they have put together to help people. I called again today to find out my status as the man told me to do last week. I was put on hold then hung up on. Something is sure smelling in Denmark. Such as a SCAM. Why isn't anyone doing anything about these SCAM ARTISTS? Using the Government program to hide behind. An Attorney contacted me concerning this issue. We will be working on shutting this so-called Mortgage Company down.

Oh now, I am still 1 month behind, pinned against a wall making Mortgage Payments twice a month. Nationstar sent me a bill stating that I now owe them $4000.00 something dollars. Does anyone get this? I believe my rights have been stepped on, therefore I will fight back with everything I have. They will not win this battle. They do this to Foreclose on homes. Let them try this with me. If they've never met a Devil they sure will now. This is from far a threat; it is a promise. I have every receipt and so does my Bank. If I need to record our conversations, I will do that also. Just like they record ours. Or so they claim. I believe nothing that comes out of their mouths. I have never dealt with such a crooked company as this one. NATIONSTAR MORTGAGE? HUM HUM

My loan was sold from Bank of America to Nationstar in May. I received my welcome packet on May 10th. There was no account/loan information in the packet. I paid the same amount as I usually do in May and June. In June, I was told my payment was short by $6 because the payment went up. I asked them, "How was I supposed to know, given that I requested a coupon statement 6 weeks previously?" Fast forward, it's July: no statement yet. They still have me in bankruptcy, although the case was discharged long ago. I can't get a payoff amount to my loan officer for refinancing; and every customer representative tells me something different. If it is legal in your state, you should record the conversations, just like they do. Save those recordings for the FCC. Let them know you are recording the conversations.

Bank of America sold my loan to this company. The company changed the payment terms, and started charging for payments unless I set up an automatic payment. I set up an automatic payment as I had no choice. Only to find that this company took 2600 out of my account for no reason, this was in addition to my mortgage. When I called, they say they made a mistake. It would take over a week to fix. Within 2 months, I have spent about 10 hours of my time trying to sort out mistakes this company has made. They should be shut down. They are the worst business I have dealt with.

We refinanced with them. On one of the papers we signed we were suppose to get 250.00 back - never saw it. Called them Several times. The first few times they said they would look into it. Never happened. Then they started saying our loan officer was either on vacation or out of the office. Finally I just let it go. They also took all my escrow from my previous mortgage and applied it to my new loan so now they've had me behind so my escrow. My payment started at 995.00, now it's up to 1200.00. Needless to say I have sold the property and will never never finance anything with them again. They are cheats and liars and were never helpful after the papers were signed.

My wife lost her job so Bank of America approved a loan modification for us. The documents were signed and notarized by Bank of America and us. After paying the modified mortgage amount for a while Bank of America sold our mortgage to Nationstar. The transfer letters from both Bank of America and Nationstar indicated that whatever agreement we have with Bank of America was valid including any loan modification. However, upon taking over the loan, Nationstar starting bombarding us with letters and phone calls that we owed on our mortgage including sending us foreclosure notices that were copied to state agencies. Whenever I called Nationstar told me they have our modification documents from BOA but they have not entered it in their system yet. It's over 2 months now and they're still sending us letters and calling our phones.

I agree with so many reviews on here - how can this company still be in business?!? My loan was just transferred to NS from BOA a little over a month ago, and I have had nothing but headaches ever since. I had a single point of contact, but never heard back from them when I called. THEN, I saw online that they were replaced with someone else. No problem, right? After I saw the update, I emailed this new person to find out more information about a loan modification. I submitted forms online, then had to resubmit them via email. I was told I was still missing documents, but when I asked for the forms they still needed (after I know I sent everything), I didn't get a response. I asked again a few days later, and was told "its ok just get it to me as soon as you can". Seriously? That's a professional answer? I said I would love to get them the paperwork as soon as I can, but I still needed WHAT WAS MISSING.

Three messages later, still no response. There was also no response to my asking to receive their supervisor's information. I did get a letter in the mail though - it was dated two weeks before I received it and gave me my single point of contact - you know, the person who was no longer mine, lol. To top this off they call about a payment I made to BOA at the beginning of June saying I still owe it.....every time I go online my address isn't correct.....they charge a fee to pay over the phone or online so I mailed in my last check. I finally received my welcome packet with account information 3 weeks after they took over my loan. The list goes on and on. It said at the top of this page that NS isn't part of this message board and will not respond to customer complaints. Of course not. They would need a small staff just to handle that task alone!

I agree in regards to a lawsuit. Thankfully, for my situation at hand, I already have a lawyer lined up in case I need to take them to court. I refuse to succumb to the runaround and shady practices of this company. I actually had hope when they first took it over after BOA didn't seem to care, but now I would take BOA back in a heart beat. If my fiance wasn't out of work and we could afford to refinance this loan on our own, I would go for it. Unfortunately, we need help with our payments as is it.

Why is it that when you try and do the right thing, ask for help, put your house on the market to try that avenue, WANT to pay a fair amount and do what would be for the greater good of all involved, it doesn't matter? Is this what I have to look forward to? From what I see of other reviewers' stories, will NS just be able to take my house and ruin my life? I am not late in my payments, nor have I ever been, but the time is at hand and I fear for my future. This is what NS has done to me - they have made me afraid where once I was optimistic.

I made an on-line mortgage payment (June 22, 2013) and put the amount of my payment (which included extra dollars) in the line that said other amount, thinking it was the place to put a different total than the regular payment. In actuality it added that amount to the payment. When I received the confirmation email I realized my mistake and tried to correct it. There was not a way to correct it online, but a window popped up stating if you need to change or cancel this payment, to call customer service. I called customer service one hour after it opened and the agent said he could not change it due to it hadn't posted yet. I was not able to change anything as the window on their website stated.

The funds were removed Sunday evening (June 23rd, 2013) causing my account to go into major default between the overdraft charges from outstanding checks as well as 6.99 a day until that money was returned or funds were able to cover this amount. Remember it was more than twice the payment amount that was deducted. When I started my journey to refund the overpayment on Monday June 24th, 2013 with customer service, the games began. I sent in the information they asked for on Monday the 24th by fax (per customer service supervisor) and was told she would try to expedite the overpayment. Thursday the 27th of June, I called to follow up and lo and behold, I needed another piece of information which I immediately faxed to them and called to see if they received it. They did receive it. Followed up on Friday and found out it was never processed and was told they will start that day.

I followed up on July 5th when 5-7 days as promised, was up. The customer service rep informed me it was never processed and applied to principal. I was then promised after much rudeness, it would be handled. I called July 12th and after a wonderful service rep finally answered my call said it was coded incorrectly and put me in touch with main office. I was apologized to and promised it would be in my account by Tuesday, July 16th. Not in my account, and when I called again the fight began again. They were arguing to apply it to July payment and paying fees from the past and anything to prevent returning it. 3 and a half weeks later, no money!!! They are scam artists. DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE!!!!!

I tried to take advantage 3 years ago of the Making Home Affordable Program and was told every time I sent the requested information in, they always needed more and repeats of the same information until the time was up from the onset of the application to the time it expired. They never intended to make this application good by the deceitful way they handle everything they do with my attempts to apply for this. My account and late payments that were applied to other bills I was not able to pay because they would not return my money is up to 310.00. I want to report this and seek legal action to this scam of a company. Customer Service agents are awful and management is not any better.

HORRIBLE COMPANY! BEWARE. The image below shows the window on website (bottom of window) stating the ability to change or cancel this payment.

Where do I begin?? Suntrust sold our first mortgage to Nationstar AFTER we filed for bankruptcy. After the discharge, we began getting phone calls. Then the week of Thanksgiving got served foreclosure papers. Keep in mind this is all over the deed, bankruptcy discharged. We were anxious to get this part of our life behind us. Wrong! After two years and THREE attempts at the deed in lieu, we finally started getting somewhere, so we thought. We had to hound Suntrust to settle with Nationstar on the second mortgage before anything could happen. Finally got that under the belt.

Next we called and called and called, like a lot of others, different people all the time. I kept asking what the hold up was over the deed, they told me it was the electronic filing Suntrust did. I stated it was filed through the courthouse and if it was good enough to file, then it was good enough for the courts. Then they finally agreed and I have not been able to talk to anyone since. Feb of this year was two years since my discharge. And now I am told the laws have been changed about acquiring another mortgage. Three years after they take possession of the deed.

So I am being held hostage by these unprofessional thieves. Indefinitely! I am told I can't sue and have no legal recourse? And my taxes paid for this bailout? We are at wits end and seem to be stuck in "ground hogs day" (Bill Murray). Every day a living hell. Someone please help the middle class, because we are the ones that make this country what it was. I like every one else who deals with Nationstar is headed for foreclosure even though I have complied over and over with every one of their requests for "missing documents." I too have fax confirmations, a log of conversations and emails and proof of overnighted documents, yet they still do NOT have a complete packet and my file can not be reviewed until it is complete. Needless to say the ridiculous attorney firm they used didn't have to do anything and Nationstar probably pocketed the cash. I started calling them for update status and every time, spoke with someone different. Then their games started as they started asking for documents that had previously been submitted. Every time I would call, they would need more documents that I had previously submitted. I finally started recording these conversations and advising them that they were being recorded. Finally, I got them to admit twice, that they had received all of the necessary documents. Then the emails and letters to me started, requesting documents that had previously been submitted.

No matter how many times they requested the documents, I would oblige them sometimes faxing up to 34 pages of documents with a cover letter informing them of the dates the documents were previously submitted to them. I would fax them to a fax number they sent to me in one of their letters but when another request for the documents would come, I would call and they would say to fax them to a different number. Nationstar assigned us a "POC" point of contact but we could never reach him to speak with him. I really don't think he existed. Nationstar is not trying to work with homeowners who have stellar credit and have never been late with a payment. I went on disability in October 2012 due to recurrent cancer. I called Nation Star to see if I could get some help with my mortgage using the President's agenda of helping home owners who were underwater with their mortgage. Nation Star representative said they could help but needed some information. He started with my expenses, when I said I did not have all the information handy, he stated "you don't know what your bills are?" with a very nasty attitude. When I was able to get the information to him, he told me no they were unable to help me. I had gone through a loan modification in Oct 2009 when I was first diagnosed with stage four colon cancer. They began the process and in January I called and they needed more information. I asked why they did not call me so I could get it to them, I was told that I must keep calling on a regular basis they would NOT call me.

The modification went through, but I had recurrent cancer and surgery and was again on disability and again called Nation Star to seek some help and was told there was nothing they could do. So to keep my home I pulled what little money I had in my 401-K to pay my mortgage. In December 2012 I stopped making payments. I was called by this ** company day and night. I did not answer and sought help to short sale my home. Had a buyer and this so called company would not work with my representatives to short sale my home. They refused to communicate by returning phone calls and emails to my representatives and when they did speak with them the company rep was rude.

This company refused to stop the foreclosure and listed my home at $189,900 which is the cost at the time I bought my home in 2007. My home was valued at $140,000. So now I sit in limbo trying to figure out my next step in this horrible mess. I deal with cancer, bills, treatments, doctor visits, up coming surgery (minor) and wondering where I will go next. The stress is really mounting for me. Nation Star needs to be stopped and brought to the public's attention as does B of A. To me the two are in this game together.

I received notification that my loan was bought by Nationstar from Bank of America on the evening of July 1, which happened to be the day I was trying to receive the payoff amount from Bank of America to pay off the loan. Unfortunately, the loan was transferred and it was too late. I immediately called Nationstar and was told they couldn't even speak with me for seven days, even though I wanted to pay my loan off. They assured me that once the seven days were up, I would be able to get the pay off amount and pay the loan off over the phone.

I waited and called on Monday, July 8th. They could not give me the pay off amount, even though I wanted to pay off the loan that very morning via check or debit card over the phone. They refused to tell me the pay off amount and said they had to 'send' it to me. I asked what methods they could do this, and they said mail or fax. I said, "Okay, please fax it to me." I was getting upset they were charging me interest this whole time on a loan that I was trying to pay off but couldn't. I thought that I would save a little interest by having it faxed to save a few days' transit time. Nothing was mentioned AT ALL about any fees.

Twenty-four hours later, I received the pay off via fax, with a $24 fee to pay the loan off and a $25 fee because they faxed it to me. I called to have the fees removed because they were not told to me, but I was told they couldn't remove the fees. I tried to pay the loan off over the phone but they refused to take any payment over the phone and said I had to send a cashier's check. (Keep in mind they have no reason not to accept any payment from me; this is just apparently their policy). I told the customer service rep that I cannot pay a fee that wasn't warned to me, but was refused for it to be waived again.

I asked, "What would you have charged me if I had let you mail it to me rather than faxing it to my TOLL FREE fax line?" After being put on hold a few minutes, I was told I would have been charged $7. I said, "Okay, fine, charge me $7 because that is what I would have chosen if the fee was advised to me." The ONLY benefit to having it faxed is to save a few days of interest. The interest on this loan is $0.44 a day, so obviously, I would not have paid $18 extra to save $0.88.

I told the lady I need to speak with somebody else. She put me on hold forever and then told me she can't get anybody else. I told her I would hold until she can find somebody. She put me on hold again for awhile, then said, "I can't get anybody available so I will submit this request to a supervisor for you." I told her thanks, went to the bank for a cashier's check like they said I had to, and put it in the mail to them. Three days later now, I received an email from them denying any of the fees to be waived, with no further explanation.

These people are just out to get your money and are looking for ways to trap you into paying for things that you shouldn't have to. I am so thankful that I have the money to pay them off, because I do not willingly choose to do business with people like these. I am an honest person and CHOOSE to deal with businesses that earn their money honestly, not crooked. They are so horrible to deal with that I would literally have wasted hundreds of dollars to refinance if I would've had to just to avoid having to deal with them longer than the 11 days that I've had the displeasure of being stuck doing business with them. I'm not really happy with Bank of America, about carelessly selling my loan to a dishonest company like this. I love B of A and am shocked that they were so casual to send my business to these people.

I have an agent and looked at a foreclosure property. It is in the neighborhood I have been wanting to move into, and I have a little one ready to start kindergarten in the fall, so timing is important. We were set to make an offer, and I already had financing lined up through my own bank (not Nationstar). All set, right?

No. Nationstar won't even accept an initial offer unless you apply for financing with them. You literally cannot put an offer on a home unless you allow them to run your credit. Better yet, their application asks what your price max is, as well as your loan limit. So, you basically have to lay all your cards on the table to the SELLER of the home at the same time you are trying to put an offer in. To me, this is a conflict, but I played along because the house was just right for my family.

I put in a very fair initial offer, only $5,000 below their list. They countered $1,000 below their list. I AGREED to pay this price! The next day, Nationstar put the house up for auction and their listing agent told me, "Nationstar did not put anything in writing yet, so they just decided to do something different and not sell the house to you."

Seriously, shady business practices. First, they ran my credit for no reason, so I know I will have to explain that to my bank when I do find another house. Second, they tied me up for two weeks in a bidding process, while other homes listed went under contract; maybe I could have gotten into one of those, but now they are gone. Third, they put my family through an emotional process of being excited that we found the right home (we showed our little boys where they'd be going to elementary school, etc.), only to pull the rug out from under us. For what?! Lastly, the interest rates are rising; the time they wasted could cost me on a different property.

Worst of all, after kissing my butt on the phone and returning EVERY call in the "intake of credit app" process, now that I am calling to ask for a better explanation, no one picks up their phone. I qualified for credit through Nationstar and four other banks. I am not a risk for a mortgage. AND, their mortgage guy told me that IF they accepted my offer, they would only give me closing help if I financed through them. With all the complaints I see online about their mortgage services, what a joke that is. We are not even entering into the auction. Although we have enough cash to most likely win, I feel like I would be doing a deal with the devil. Nationstar is a disgusting, shameless, and corrupt company. They should be investigated for unfair business practices and fined until they are bankrupted.

We have been dealing with Nationstar for years. We have been digging out of a hole due to a job loss two years ago. Long story short, we finally worked out a loan modification that took over two years to do so. The issue was that we could now afford the payments, but they tacked on the late fees and demanded them upfront which we could not do. So we have been working on paying them off as fast as we can. We have never been 90 days late, but they decided to move us over to foreclosure status anyway. So now they are demanding all late fees and payments in one lump sum or they are going to foreclose. They are not willing to work out any type of payment plan.

I went over all my financials proving that we can afford the payments now, but they said all that did was confirm that after we pay the money due, which is two months mortgage plus late fees that they will let us roll our July and August payment together. So Kind! We have been trying to make our monthly payments but now they send them back stating that they will only accept all money due. They are not even thinking it through. Add all the attorney fees, on top of the mortgage and the home will definitely lose money in a foreclosure sale so they will just write off the loss. They then said that they had been trying to get in touch with me, which is not true, as I have phone records showing that I have not received any calls from then until just recently when they moved me into a foreclosure status. There is no written correspondence either. I could go on and on but this company is a scam.

THEN, I took up a loan with my local bank to catch up, so they, of course, asked for more paperwork. I was fed up! I was too busy, looking for a new job and getting help otherwise, that with trying to contact a new agent for my account (3-4 within one month), it was getting ridiculous! I'm about ready to just give up and move on! How is any of this legal???

I was having difficulty leasing my rental property which was worth $30,000 less than I owed and was starting the short sale process with BofA last April. In the middle of the proceedings, I was notified in writing that my loan was sold to Nationstar effective immediately. I had to start the process all over again with Nationstar which took about 7 months, faxing the same documentation several times. Meanwhile, the collections department was calling me several times nightly. The first few times I explained that I was in the process of a short sale, but the deluge of calls continued, so I stopped answering the phone.

After the second month of working with them on the short sale, I received a certified letter that they were starting foreclosure proceedings. Thank God for my realtor who stepped in and worked with them on my behalf. It was a nightmare of misinformation since none of their departments seem to communicate or document anything. I was lucky and got it resolved in 7 months. That was in October 2012. Now I am getting collection calls from a third party telling me that Nationstar has transferred the debt to them and that I need to call them back to make payment arrangements. I tried to call back once to let them know the house had been sold, but it would not let me through without giving them my social security number. Yeah, that's not happening.

I lost my business back in 2009. At that time we were with BOA. Between my wife's income and my unemployment, we never fell behind on our mortgage. In 2010, BOA sold the loan to Nation Star. In and out of work for the next 2 years, it was not until August 2012 that I missed my first payment. We were in a real financial bind now and needed all the help we could get. Since then, we have been trying to do a loan modification, and as many people put on here, we keep getting letters saying they need more paperwork. We keep sending everything they ask for and nothing happens. Now we just got a letter saying that in 17 days the house will go to auction.

We have also received about 10 letters changing who our contact person is. Yep, every time we call that new person, we get a voicemail and no return phone call. We have been trying to set up a Deed in Lieu of and a short sale for months, and no one is working to get it done. Our real estate person is working hard to get through to them and they just don't answer. I believe this is a complete scam by this company and they never really intend to work with people who are in trouble. They just want the property and build up as many fees as they can in the meantime. They are ruining people's lives. There needs to be a big civil suit filed. I am sure many will join in.

Due to some financial issue, I have fallen 3 months behind on my mortgage. I called to get help and was told that obviously, I cannot afford my house. I need to move out. They refused to help in any way. I was then told that if I came up with the money by June 30, 2013, they would accept payment. I came up with all the back pay and sent it by Western Union to them. I received the check back and was told to call to make arrangements.

I have left several messages on 7/8 and 7/9. I still have not received a call back. I have 4 children and no other place to go and told them so. They were very unsympathetic and unwilling to help. We have tried to figure out how to re-fi the home through this company and have not received any help for it at all. Like I said, I have 4 children. I am so lost on what to do about this. Can someone please help me keep my home?

Nationstar currently holds the mortgage on a piece of rental property I have. It was unfortunately sold to them a few years ago. I am currently coming out of bankruptcy and trying to reaffirm the debt and get the loan modified through Freddie Mac. I have called and left numerous messages but have yet to receive a call back. Each time I call, I get a different story, and the person who was assigned to my loan is never available. I would not recommend using this company.

My loan was sold to this HORRIBLE company from BofA on June 4, 2013. We paid the June payment to BofA so no payment was due until July 2013. I called Nationstar on several occasions to apply the entire amount I was sending to pay PRINCIPAL ONLY in June. They informed me to write a note with my check, and also a note stating PRINCIPAL ONLY.

When the checks arrived at Nationstar on June 17, 2013, they applied my check to a July payment and added the rest to PRINCIPAL ONLY BALANCE. I called and complained, and they finally put the entire amount to my PRINCIPAL BALANCE of JUNE 2013. I sent another check on 6-24-2013, with a note informing them to apply the entire amount to my PRINCIPAL ONLY BALANCE. They would not apply the check to my PRINCIPAL ONLY BALANCE; they kept trying to pay a JULY 2013 payment.

I have called and complained time and time again. I have spoken to 10 Customer SERVICE Reps, but my payment still has not been applied to my PRINCIPAL ONLY BALANCE FOR JUNE 2013. I sent a total of $4,057.12 in June, to be applied to PRINCIPAL ONLY BALANCE, but they kept trying to make me pay the JULY payment. I informed the CUSTOMER SERVICE REP that I can specify how I want the monies to be applied, especially when I have followed all of their rules, which is being current on my loan and not having any other outstanding fees owed or due.

I'm still waiting for the monies to be applied to PRINCIPAL ONLY for the month of JUNE 2013. THEY WILL NOT APPLY MY MONIES AS I HAVE ASKED, EVEN THOUGH I HAVE FOLLOWED ALL OF THEIR RULES! I am so ready to join a Class Action Lawsuit! This SAGA has been going on now for 30 days, as of July 8th.

I cannot believe this company has not been in the news for their completely unethical and criminal activities. My family and I did absolutely everything that was asked by them, but then they stole our home right out from under us. On top of that, we recently received threatening phone calls from this company demanding $270,000 to be repaid because they were short at the auction. We had a cash buyer for them and they turned it down. This is completely documented in emails to this company. Our story is long, horrible and has ruined my life forever. I am now considered a scumbag in a community that I helped out and volunteered for 15 years. My children have suffered. I have no home, no way to even buy a new car - NOTHING. This experience has had the worst emotional toll on my family, even my children.

At the start, we went 90 days late, like they told us we had too in order to renegotiate our mortgage. We sent them every piece of documentation that we had and then they just stopped calling us back or returning emails for almost 1 1/2 years. I had no idea what was even going on. We tried to do a deed in lieu and went through the entire process like they asked. Nationstar refused to return our calls until it was too late. They completely stopped talking to us. We even found a CASH buyer for the house before the foreclosure and they REFUSED to consider it. I realize now it is because they already had a plan and probably had a buyer. My entire life is ruined because they did not follow through on their end of the deal. We went through the re-modification processes with them 3 times to get it right. Of course, it got worse with every interaction.

When my mortgage payment went from $2,200 per month to $7,600+ (absolutely documented), that is when I realized we were losing our home that we paid for close to a decade and that there was nothing I could do then. A home that we upgraded and cared for deeply, completely taken away. EVERYONE thinks that I am a scumbag and the truth is that I am completely depressed and starting to feel like they are right. I know there will be people who will think that I brought this upon myself and in a way I did because I should have never listened to them when they said we had to go late. I know some people will not believe it, but it's absolutely true. The final straw of this nightmare was the call last week, demanding that we repay $270,000 because they came up short at the auction. We had a cash buyer for this home so why were they allowed to go short at the auction?

When we asked for the NOTE or proof that they actually had the mortgage, they refused or ignored our calls. I cannot believe this is what my life has become after working so hard. Why are they allowed to get away with this nightmare? Why? So many other people have complained but this company keeps getting away with grand theft and no one stops them. I hope this helps someone else that they are not alone in their grief. I say grief because that is how I feel and I know that is how others feel too. It is not every mortgage company, but this one is special. If you are buying a home, do not use this company. No matter what they say. Go with a real bank, any bank besides this one...

How is it that this company can sell my house on me if I have not received one damn bill??? Then they sell me back to my old mortgage company, only to find out that Nationstar is selling my house and I have 30 days to get out. This is my house. I put my blood and sweat into the house. I have watched my babies grow up in (they are still small, but over the years I have watched them grow up). I feel as if I have failed my kids. I have failed in life. How is it they give me only 30 days to find a place to live??? In my town, not many places to live. I can't move in with family. No one knows this is going on. No one has room for my family. I just want to say thank you Nationstar for not helping and putting my family out.

What right do they have to tell me I have to pay them? I called the number on the letter only to be sucked into a voice response unit that in NO WAY can get you to a live person. What a joke. My husband's mortgage was sold to Nationstar. He had been working and got laid off. I got pregnant and had our two children. During that time, we had fallen behind on our payments. Towards the end of 2012, we were a couple months behind. We made extra payments in January to try and pay up. Eventually, I contacted them to set up a repayment plan. We agreed on a monthly payment. I set it up for a direct pay out of my checking account. We paid the amount. In February, they explained that there had been some miscalculation and I need to pay a different amount. That was fine, and we started a new repayment plan with a higher amount to be paid for four months. We paid the amount agreed and thought we were on track. After we finished all scheduled payments for the plan, they informed me that I was still a month behind. Their reason was that there was an added fee for something and that fee was now added to my monthly payment, and my payment amount had changed sometime during the repayment plan.

So after six months of paying exactly what they said I owed, exactly when they said to pay, I am still behind. Now to resolve the issue, I still have to pay twice what the payment should be. I just have absolutely no way to come up with more money. The lady I spoke to said that everyone in that company I had talked to in those six months had all lied to me. They had all miscalculated the amounts and they had all just told me what I want to hear, just to get me off the phone. She, on the other hand, could not agree with me just to make me happy. And she agreed that NO, IT WAS NOT FAIR, but that in the end, there was nothing to be done to resolve it except for me to pay the extra money to bring my account current. How is that a company’s personnel can tell you that you owe them a specific amount, you pay the amount as agreed, and then tell you that you still owe money because their people miscalculated. Still no resolution.

My mortgage was sold to Nationstar shortly after I refinanced my home. Unfortunately, I was laid off of work and fell behind in my payments by a few months, but I contacted Nationstar and told them the situation and made an arrangement to send them all the back payments from my severance package. Nationstar even gave me the amount I needed to pay. I sent the money as agreed upon and Nationstar contacts me and says that they never received my payment. I contact the bank and my payment was indeed cashed. Nationstar still denied that they received my payment.

This went on for several weeks and then I was told that yes, they did receive my payment and cashed it; however, it was being held in another account because they would not apply any payments due to some fee they said I owed. I asked what the fee was and they informed me that they would have to write the attorney and ask him. Needless to say, I got nothing but the run around. Every month, I sent in my payment and every month, they held it in a special account. During this time, they were also adding late fee after late fee and threatening foreclosure.

About 6 months in, I received a check from Nationstar for all of my payments attached to a letter stating that I owed them money. Hello? You are returning my money. I have hired an attorney and Nationstar even refuses to work with him. The attorney is now saying I have no other choice but to fight them in court, which is going to cost me even more money. I am close to $70,000 upside down in my home. I don't want to lose my house, but don't know how much I can afford to spend fighting them. I agree that a class action lawsuit needs to be filed against this company. They are in the business of TAKING homes, not helping homeowners. It is very sad that so many are facing foreclosure from a company that they didn't even pick to finance with in the first place. If we don't stand up for ourselves, we will all be HOMELESS.

This company is ridiculous! Reading the hundreds of other complaints noted here, why can't we get some kind of class action lawsuit? Nationstar obviously ISN'T interested in working with their customers. If they were, they would have some kind of legitimate payment system where you didn't have to incur additional fees to make your mortgage. Nationstar doesn't make paying with them easy! Then they wonder why all the delinquencies! I am another UNLUCKY mortgage holder that was originally with BOA only to be turned over to this outfit! I have no recourse but to seek legal advice as they are impossible to communicate with. Anyone up for a class action suit? Please let me know. I'm there with you. My problems are similar to the other 745 complaints, to date, noted here. Isn't 745 noted complaints enough for some kind of action against this company? I would think so.

I recently had my BOA loan sold to Nationstar. So far, so bad. The customer service representative, "Abraham", seemed to try his best, but could not provide some details of my account that should have been readily available to a basic CSR. For example: when does my rate modify, when and where will you pay my property tax bill? This was after waiting 18 minutes on hold following several calls leading to nowhere. I am not happy about this change.

I have all my new documents from BofA, but why haven't they updated this info to reflect my account if they have it? Since 6/10 they have had it and I get no straightforward answer. I'm so stressed.
