    CreditAssociates seemed like the more logical route to go. I got a little squirrelly at the first, and then it was all good. And when it was all said and done, I was like, "Well, I probably could have done that myself." But you never know that until you go through it. And there was one I settled on my own. Then some guy was trying to dissuade me like, "Oh, no. Now, if they come back and try to fight you on it, we won't be there to defend you or something." It didn't make sense. But then the last one, I was like, "Well, I already agreed to pay for your services." It was that one girl, and she was like, "Well, it'd be another 4,000 for us to settle it." "Well, then I’m supposed to do it myself." But now, I could just defer all those damn bill collectors to them, then it was a relief. I'm completely paid off. I wanted to do it in a short period of time and I knew I could accelerate it and just bite the bullet. But I'm glad it's all behind me.

CreditAssociates totaled all of my debt, and then let me know how much it would be and what they could do for me, as far as possible settlement. And then, let me know the amount of time that it would take for me to pay off all of those. And then, let me know what my monthly payment would be. They work with me to get something that will meet my financial situation that I'm in so that I'm not paying an extreme amount of money, yet I'm able to pay off my debt.

    I spoke with the agent from CreditAssociates and he explained to me better than the other person. Also, the rate was more affordable for me than the other company. Every time they have an offer, they reach out to me. They send me an email that they want to talk to me. They send me a text until they get ahold of me. But normally, they ask me first what I think about it. It has been a long process because my debt was a lot. And they tried to figure out what the amount that I was able to pay by that time. I started September last year. They already settled a lot on my account with a pay program. The only thing is they're still making the payment. But they keep working on the other ones.

    The reps explained everything, so I could really understand what was going on and what they were going to do.     When I try to fax information to a number, it never would go through. I was directed to another number, and it might go through one time, but then the next time, it won't go through again. After that, things are picking up a little bit. After a few months, I started seeing some changes.     CreditAssociates went ahead and settled one of the accounts, and it was a time-sensitive issue. There was not enough money in the account to cover the debt, and they wanted me to put out more money than we agreed to. I agreed to that one, but I said I can't do it no more.     I liked the way that my CreditAssociates rep explained things to me and that it was going to be what I was looking for. I was 95% comfortable working with the company. I just wish the last agreement was handled differently. They made the agreement and when I called them, they told me they already paid the first month's payment and that they let me know about it. But they didn’t notify me that they made the agreement. With the other ones, they called. I had a three-way conference with CreditAssociates and the JC Penney creditors. I felt very good about that. But with the last one, I didn’t agree with the way CreditAssociates did it. I was angry and I cancelled it. Other than that, working with CreditAssociates was fantastic. I had more sleep and fewer worries.

    I thought that CreditAssociates was similar to the one I did years ago and it was totally different. I didn't like the idea that I was getting all these calls from my creditors. They don't even know that I'm in the program and that was weird to me, so I tell them, and they tell me to tell CreditAssociates to send them a proposal. Before when I did it, the company contacted all of my creditors when I first started the program to let them know that I was in that program, and that stopped all the calls. I would have like to see CreditAssociates do that even if they weren't able to negotiate at that point. I'm going through a lot right now and getting calls on the phone and threatening letters from the creditors all the time are stressful to me.

    CreditAssociates told me their rules. I should have asked questions before I got involved with it. I just assumed that they all did the same kind of a program, they would call the creditor to negotiate with them. They had taken quite a bit of money out of my account and hadn't done anything yet so that bothered me. That's when I started calling and they started contacting people. They've taken care of some but I haven't heard from them in a while.

    CreditAssociates really cared about what was happening and they could really help my mom. My mom was in credit card debt of over $30,000, to which she had no recollection of how she got there, 'cause she had nothing to prove for it. At that frantic point, we just needed somebody who cared and could help. We had a lot of different people representing the company who all did a very nice job. But it's almost every time I would speak with someone, I'd have to reiterate what we had gone through prior, so I was repeating myself a lot. But they had my mom's interest at heart, so that was good. I thought it would be handled quicker. But we're not quite done yet and it's almost been a year.

    CreditAssociates did let us know that the debt wouldn't be handled immediately. After my mom sold her house, what we did was to put the full amount in, pay for everything, which was nice. That's been a big relief that they're still handling that, but we don't owe any more money. They're fighting for the lowest price. They'll let us know an offer and then they'll chat with us saying that they can get it lower. The cards have to go to some type of a specific collection number before they'll give you the lowest amount, and so they'll just have to wait it out. If I had to do it for myself, I absolutely would use CreditAssociates.

    CreditAssociates told me what they could do to get me on a program to get rid of my credit card debts. It sounds logical to me so I've tried it. And so far, it's okay to me. If they negotiate on a bill, they will call you and tell you what they negotiate and how much is the offer. If there's not enough money in the account, they will say to you that they would get this offer if you were up to it. But since there was not enough money in there, I could offer $50 more or what have I for a certain period of time so that they could take the offer as quickly as possible and eliminate the bill. That's what I do sometimes. Once they may get an offer and it sounds okay to me, I'd tell them to go ahead.

    It’s a three-year program, so I have two years left. So far, it's okay because they give me options and I feel free to call and ask them any questions. If I don't agree or I don't understand, they will break it down to the lowest form for me to understand. Whoever I speak to, they take time to answer all my questions and they spend time with me so that I understand everything. I had so many credit card bills and I got four paid off already. So I'm getting there. Whatever debt you have, you can be debt-free once you make up your mind that I'm gonna be debt-free and this is the point of time I'm going to work towards it because CreditAssociates will work with you.

    I started in March of last year and I've been in the program for a year and a couple of months. So far, working with CreditAssociates has been okay and I'm very comfortable with them. They take the money out and they do whatever they have to do. When the girls call me to tell me any little updates there, they explain it well. They call me whenever there’s a problem. They also ask if something is okay. They send me emails too.

    I spoke to an associate and we discussed the different options and plans that CreditAssociates has. After looking into theirs and a few others, we decided to go with them. They were more in depth in explaining the program and taking care of things. They've been Johnny-on-the-spot with calling and discussing the different settlements, and getting things taken care of. As things go along, I get those close-out letters and saying that I am taken care of and things are complete. That’s one of the biggest things there, is having those letters from your creditors sent back over to you.

    The customer service on the phone was good. I've checked four times to see where CreditAssociates was with my accounts and that's what I enjoy. My initial contact was good as well, but the downside of the whole situation was that it took them a long time to start resolving the problem with my creditors. I have five accounts and although they settled two in the first three months, it took a long time for them to resolve the others.

    We were getting up to 20 calls a day from my creditors about things that I had hoped that they would have taken care of. It drove me crazy. Every day after 8 o'clock, I was getting calls until 9 o'clock at night. The calls did not stop at all, which is a bad experience. They should make contact with the creditors sooner to decrease all the calls. Because of the nuisance of the calling that took place for seven months, how would I go with them again if I had to do it? I used Money Management 20 years ago, and once I signed up with them, the calls stopped.

    When I first spoke to CreditAssociates, I was thinking about it. Nowadays, there are so many scams. So I did a little research online and see if they were legit, and if they had a good rating. I checked it out a bit before I decide to do this. My husband said, “Go ahead.” Then I called. I'm from Texas, and the first guy I talked to happened to be from Texas too. We kind had a nice discussion. I just felt comfortable.

    I wanted them to deal with one of the last creditors we had. We got our government money. I said, “If we give this to you, can we get this done?” And it was noted, but the system automatically took that money to do something. I said, “This was meant to take care of so and so.” And the supervisor said, “Oh, I'm so sorry. But when you put extra money in, the system does this.” So I said, “That's why we gave it. We wanted to get everybody taken care of. So in a couple of years, we’ll be done with this.” Within the next couple of days, the supervisor had it all taken care of. He apologized. Everybody seemed to do a good job. I don't get phone calls anymore.

    When I signed up, CreditAssociates said that they would take a fee out but I would be out of debt within three years. My credit was good when I went to them. I was comfortable going through the process and they paid off one account. But now, my credit is going bad. I found that they only pay one person at a time and they are keeping the rest of the money. It was the fee. They then say, “We got another payment but you have to pay more.” I would have liked CreditAssociates to be more upfront with me. I’m gonna call them and cancel because they get more money than paying my bills. I’m gonna tell them, “Don't even go through my account this month because I'm gonna start handling it myself.”

    My experience with CreditAssociates was not what I expected. It's been well over a year and some of my creditors haven't had communications with them. CreditAssociates holds 'cause they make sure to get all their money first before anything is taken care of. Then they're constantly saying I have to pay more money per month. There's a set payment, but they're like, "Oh, we can settle with this account, but we need another $5,000. That doesn't work for me. If I had that amount, I wouldn't have done CreditAssociates's program.

    The program wasn't explained clearly to me in the beginning like, "Hey, this is how it's going to happen. It's going to take more than a year for people to be contacted. We'd take all of our fees first. It's going to be the full four years before you're going to be looking to get any type of relief from phone calls and from mailings. I've made 15 payments and I only see one account paid off. I'm going to try to do something different to pay off what I have left.

    The only negative comment I have was that I did not know that CreditAssociates would get a pretty good chunk of the payment when we settle on an agreement with one of the creditors. I want to see where the settlement lands with the last two creditors that we're going to be reaching out to after we get to a certain point with the three that they've done. I want to see if I can get that settlement down a bit further because of the amount of money that they're taking.

    Other than that, Credit Associates has been very helpful. Every time I've called, the customer service reps have been very nice and informative. If they don't know the answer, they find it out. The positive is that my credit cards are getting paid off. However, by doing this, my scores have bottomed out. I've been trying to apply for a really small credit card and I was denied. As things go forward though, it's been getting better. I recommended the service to one person but I'm waiting to find out if I'm getting the $500 for that. I've made three phone calls on that and I'm not really thrilled about that part. Something's falling through the cracks in their recommendation program and it's something CreditAssociates needs to work on.

    CreditAssociates seemed to have good reviews online, then I looked at the website and spoke to the salesman. He wasn't just selling me a product, he thought that they were doing valuable work and so far, working with them has solved what was a serious financial problem. They know what they're doing and for the right circumstances, going with them is the best solution. Right now, the banks don't seem to understand at least one of the accounts that's been resolved and there's a way to get them to acknowledge that it's been resolved, but I haven't done it yet. I have not followed up properly on that and I know that the CreditAssociates can help me, but I have to reach out to them to do it. Other than that, the people at CreditAssociates care about what they're doing.

    I brought CreditAssociates three accounts and they told me the program would take about 24 to 36 months. They calculated the amount that I should pay on a monthly basis, which I agreed upon to pay directly from my bank account. They started getting the money. Down the line, I saw my credit was going down the drain. Now, I can't even rent a car. When I contacted CreditAssociates, my credit was initially at 650. Now, it's below 500. I asked CreditAssociates why that was and there were all kinds of stories. I'm very unhappy with them.

    Another thing was half-point through the program, they came up to me for one of the accounts and they needed more money. The creditor wanted what they originally billed before. I told CreditAssociates “No, I'm not going to give any money because we came to an agreement on a set amount of money. And you agreed with me, and now you're coming back for more money.” I said to them that if I have to do it then I will withdraw my money from them because I'm not satisfied. I refuse to be conned into accepting that deal.

    I was very excited at the beginning of the program because my business was to chop off my credit so I could do stuff. I need a lot of creditworthiness to support my business acumen. But now, I'm disappointed totally. I would have liked CreditAssociates to come up with a definite method of paying off the debt. I spoke to them last week about my credit going down and there was an argument. They don’t talk to me and tell me what my credit score is.

    I communicated with this guy who set up my account with CreditAssociates and we talked about the payment and what the final total would be. And we did the electronic signature and authorizations. He has been extremely helpful and friendly. We've made a lot of progress although I’m not sure exactly what's still left pending and what we've got settled. It would be nice if I had a statement every once in a while or even an email that updates me on what my balance left is and how we're progressing with some of the other credit accounts.     I always kept my bills paid but it took every cent I had. I couldn't live like that anymore. I went to CreditAssociates and they've been wonderful. They helped me so much. I put so much in a banking account and I gave them permission to be able to go into it when they are going to work with one of the credit cards to pay them off. They've paid off two of my credit cards already.

    I saw CreditAssociates' commercial and what really got me was the line, "We're going to tell you something that the credit card companies don't want you to know. That you can settle this..." With report cards and everything else that is on that, just one account would take me 13 years to pay off if I make the minimum payment and never charge another thing. CreditAssociates made perfect sense over filing for bankruptcy where you can't really have anything.

    I called CreditAssociates and the gentleman I got ahold of broke things down to me. My credits couldn't be screwed either way. I can either be broke or I can have a little extra money in my pocket and get done with this in 36 months. I have four accounts with CreditAssociates. It didn't take them long to settle my first one. It was probably a little after six or seven months. One other has been completely settled. One account is in the process. The other one is in collections. Everything seems to be right on track and I'm very happy.

    The communication during the process is great. I got the website and stuff all into my laptop. I get contacted by CreditAssociates anytime that there is an offer or settlement. I have a friend of mine that I'm talking to right now that she went through something else to try to get her credit up. She wished she could have done what I did.     I don't hear from CreditAssociates. They just take my money out of my account. They told me how much it’ll be and I said okay. They did three credits and then I did two on my own because they sent me a letter and said if I owe somebody $600, they told me to call them and give them 271, then they’ll clear it. But I don't understand how CreditAssociates, if they send me a letter, the credit department knows that I'm with credit when they look it up, so they should’ve done it instead of me. They ain’t calling me saying that they did this or they did that. The only time I heard from them was when they took $194 out of my account. When I called two and a half months ago, the girl was getting all smart. I told her not to get smart with me. I'm giving them my money. If she doesn’t like her job, she needs to quit. I wonder where else can I go.

    The initial person from CreditAssociates that I spoke with was really nice and accommodating. Usually, everything that I would ask, he would answer. I still have a couple of questions about how they take money for their own company out of what we pay. I'm not really clear on that but everything else has gone pretty well. The last couple of times, I spoke with somebody about the Discover card thing that they presented. I was detecting some attitude from the couple of persons that I talked to when I told them that I couldn't accept the offer. I can't worry about that because I know what my husband and I can do. There was no way that we could have taken that offer twice. It's too outstanding and it's too difficult for us.

    The customer service should be a little bit more understanding. Initially, when I went with them, it was obvious we're not having an easy time and this is a tough time for a lot of people right now. We do have a lot of debt, which I can understand, but they have to be a little bit more understanding when we can't accept an offer or do what they're asking. On that last offer, it felt like somebody was choking me. The amount was good, but we're already paying 400 a month. That's a lot and they wanted 1,000. It was too much. I can't pay that. That's like another rent or half of a rent. I just can't do it. But for the most part, I liked the service from CreditAssociates.

    CreditAssociates called me and asked me if I'd be interested in them helping me try to get my credit up to speed. I had a long talk with a lady. I told her, "Look, if it's a credit repair, I don't need that.” She said, "No, we're not." Then she explained it to me. I'm not easy to convince, and it sounded really good. The biggest thing is it takes so darn long to get things squared up with these creditors. It took about six months to see the first debt settled. There are only a couple that have been settled and I'm on a two-year contract with them. I'm depositing $700. At first it was 500, but one other creditor came up. It was a $5,000 debt. I had to add to it. So, I've given them $700 a month for two years, which is about 16 grand roughly. They made a very good deal with Lowe's, which I was very happy with. The first one was okay. They've tried to settle in a couple of them, but I've not agreed to it because it was not good for me.

    CreditAssociates is doing the job. They're just very slow in getting these creditors to agree. The biggest thing is when these credits are sold to other companies, these other companies tried to be slick about it, and they try to get the maximum out of it. They bought it for pennies on the dollar with that debt and they try to make a killing on it. It's not really CreditAssociates' fault in that case. The biggest thing is they have so many clients that I don't think they could concentrate for one person at a time. Because they have so many clients, it takes them a while to get around to talking to these creditors.

    Whoever is working sends me a text message that they have a settlement but I have to agree to it, which is very good. I don't want them to make settlements on something that is not going to be beneficial for me. I have turned about three down because if you told me in the beginning that you're going to try to settle for half of the amount or maybe a little more than half, and then you're trying to settle with them for the full amount, that doesn't make sense. Because then I'm going to be spending more money than what we agreed on. I could do that myself. If I could afford to pay the full amount, I would have done it myself.

    I was kind of sorry after I started dealing with them, because I could have settled one of those accounts, and they waited so long that they've sold it off to a company, and then the company doubled the amount. I could have settled for 800 bucks, and they wanted 1,800 bucks. I had told them in advance that this company wanted to settle for $800. But they took so long to get to them. They sold the debt off to another company. I didn't like it too much. But I hired them and I got to stick with them and see what happens till the end.

    But overall, they're not the worst. There's so many companies that are worthless that do this type of work. The good thing about CreditAssociates is you have your own account. And even though it's for them to pay, you could look at it and see how much money is in there and what's being done. That way, if this company decides to rip you off, it'd be pretty difficult because you have access to your account to look at it. I'm happy that I didn't go with other companies because even though they're not perfect, they're very good. At least, I see some progress. With some companies, I've heard some horror stories. CreditAssociates is on the right track. Eventually, they could improve the way they do things. If somebody makes them an offer, they have to present it to me. And that's what I like. I have control over that. They don't make those decisions, but I do.

    There are positives about CreditAssociates and there are areas that I feel could be improved. They've successfully taken care of two issues for me at about what was expected and represented. The areas of improvement begin with one of the cards I had enrolled. My wife was the primary on it and she said that she got a call from the issuer and they offered a deal that was phenomenal. She accepted that and we deducted it from our plan. CreditAssociates accommodated, but their portal doesn't contemplate the change.

    When I first negotiated this, I wanted the longest payout period possible, and I was told, "Well, I think it was 54 months is the absolute longest. We never go longer than that." After paying for two months, you go in there and it's almost like I'm going to pay more than 54 months, and the totals weren't adjusted. I keep getting people saying, "Oh, well, on our side, it's okay. You just don't see it." I've heard that before, and in pursuit of complete and full transparency and disclosure, if it's not reflecting reality, five years from now, somebody's going to come to me and say, "Well, Jim, every time you looked at it, it said this. Why don't you believe it?" I'm going to say, "Well, because when I would call, they would say, 'Oh, no, don't believe what you see.'"

    CreditAssociates should fix their website so when I go into the portal, it shows the adjustment that was made. That's a simple fix. I'm in a regulated industry. I'm in insurance. If somebody's policy limit goes from 5 million to 3 million and the premium goes down, my portal reflects it. I would go to jail if it didn't. So, that's been a frustration.

    The second frustration is a couple of the settlements were negotiated on growing balances. Even in the case of the three left, each time settlement offers have come in, they're not based on the originally enrolled balance. They're based on what the bank grew it to. So between the three cards, it's probably 30,000 in interest that's been added. So now, any settlement we get is going to be a lot higher and in turn, their fee's going to be higher because it's all based on settled value. So, that's kind of a troubling one.

    Finally, they did a great job. Instead of taking their fee upfront like they did on the first settlement, on the second settlement, it sounds like they paid off the card carrier first, and now I'm going to be paying them over the next couple of months. But when I asked for an accounting of what I'm paying them and how long it's going to take me to pay them, no one's been able to give me that. I would really like that because I want to know how much I'm accruing toward my ability to pay off the next card. Without that information, I can't make any sort of decision.

    I believe we're partners and that they're going to help me through this, but if I didn't like them and I asked a judge to look at this, I can't imagine how they'd come out victorious in that one. I don't care what all the documents say. The portal should say the right thing. When I ask them how they're going to take their fee over the next months, they ought to tell me. I'd put heavy weighting on the constructive criticism I offered, and I put less weighting on the good things they've done because it's their job to do the good things. I put a lot of value in that transparency issue, and they get dinged.

    CreditAssociates should offer better online tools that gave a full accounting. I know that a lot of the profit margin in this is playing with the float and having a big balance that they are working with. I have no problem with that necessarily. I can understand why they'd wanna hide that, but I would like a little more visibility into the settlement process. I'm an accountant and finance person by training, so I try and tie out the numbers between my settled accounts, my account balance and what remain to be paid out. I have a hard time tying all those numbers out, so I just have to trust that things are happening where they are. I'd like things to go faster too. Other than that, so far, so good.

    I’ve had four cases, and two of them have been resolved. There are two still active, and I haven't heard anything, but it takes time. I have to have patience with the process. Most of the time, the onus is on me to call and say, “Hey, what is our status?” The online platform will allow for you to review it, but it won't tell you where you are with with the negotiation process. If they could contact us clients more often to establish or to offer up where we're at in the process, that would be helpful.

    I have explained to CreditAssociates many times. I was out of work for nine months in 2020. We started CreditAssociates in May when I found out I would lose my job. I was out of work for three months, and then I got a job. I'm a consultant, so it was supposed to last for a year. But COVID hit and it only lasted for seven weeks. Since I had such a hard time finding that job, and then it only last seven weeks, I knew I was in trouble. I had set to pay a certain amount of money. But then, I couldn't pay that much money. So we cut it down and CreditAssociates was very good about that. It started out with me paying $900 a month. And then when I lost my job, we cut it down to $200 a month because I had no income coming in except unemployment.

    When I got a job, we put it back up to $600 a month. And every time CreditAssociates make arrangements with one of the clients, they call and ask me for more money. I've asked them several times to stop doing that. I also get emails saying, “Congratulations, we've just made arrangements with,” blah, blah, blah. “We may not be able to pay them right away. You might need more money in your bank.” And then I would get a phone call from someone and it's always a different person. In the email, it says, “If you want to discuss this, call us.” I don't need to discuss it. I have turned it over to them.

    The $600 that I'm paying them every month is the highest thing that I pay except for my mortgage. I'm giving them everything that I can to the point where it's hard to buy groceries. I've asked them, “Quit calling me and asking me for more money. I'm already giving you everything that I have.” Yet, they continue to call me and ask me for more money. Send me an email, let me know you're meeting with the creditors and you're trying to get it done. That's a great way to communicate. But don't call me every time and ask me for more money. They're helping me get my life back, get my finances straightened out, but I wish they would listen better.

    I lost my disability income and wasn't aware that it was stopping. I'm 65 and even had previous paperwork which was left in my desk at work 'cause I returned. I had a seizure, and being in the hospital for three weeks, I never returned back to work. When they boxed up my stuff, they didn't have my personal insurance information and employee plans and benefits in there. It was supposed to last 'til age 70 and they cut it off at age 64, on my birthday in March. I called CreditAssociates to see if they could help me get my cards paid down because paying even a minimum amount, with 28% interest, it appeared I would never get them paid off. On some of them, my interest was over $50.

    I got on the program and all of CreditAssociates' employees have been more than pleasant to deal with, on the human side, but I'm not getting the results that I expected. The other credit cards that I tried to keep went in and lowered my credit limit close to what my balance was. Even if I make payments, they are lowered even more, so I can't take advantage of charging at all. Also, some of them have completely closed my account with me paying every month more than what the minimum payment is and way before the due date. They referenced to high credit card balances in my credit. I got a $6,000 limit and I got a $2,000 balance. They were lowered to 2,500 or so.

    Most of the time, the CreditAssociates reps tell me that I didn't have to call and then let them do the interactions. However, they don't call to start doing that 'til after six months and then, they have just bombarded me day and night. Being disabled and on sedatives, that made it difficult for me to sleep and sleep off anything because I was awake and all throughout the day and night. I had one of their representatives call me and asked me if I can raise the amount that I pay every month because they are lacking money to reach the negotiations with my creditors. With the medication and things that I buy and the other few cards that I have open, I'm unable to raise the amount that I pay every month.

    Other than that, I feel like I've been doing things on my own. They have paid Macy's out, but it left no money for them to negotiate with my other creditors. Another one that they're working on will be paid off by February of last year, but that's taken 175 a month out of the 300 that I'm paying. It's not leaving any money to negotiate my credit limit or help my credit score. I was at 700 when all of this happened, but the end result of this has been bad with my credit being down in the 400. I never had that before and that's depressing for me. It's much worse than filing bankruptcy. I couldn't buy anything on credit if I wanted to. We still got some time for it to work out a little better though.

    Everything's been pretty good with CreditAssociates. As far as communication goes, they’ve been doing good. I talked to Katrina. She was real nice, and she got me convinced to do it. I'm trying to rebuild my credit right now, so I'm trying to get my credit a little bit better because with the situation that I had, I just couldn't pay it off and it was gonna take forever.     CreditAssociates would not send me the settlement agreements that would come. I was told that they're understaffed due to COVID, and I explained that that's not an excuse as I'm paying them for each account that they're settling. Because they failed to respond to me, that settlement then went out the door and I had to go back into a queue till they decided to renegotiate a new offer. In turn, it adversely affects me because it takes a bit longer for me to then graduate from the program. I'm also trying to buy a home later this summer. That happened on several instances.

    The most recent, there was an issue with paying off a $20,000 credit card account that we settled for 11,000. They ended up sending the wrong payment information to my financial institution and turned it over through that account because the line of credit and checking account numbers are exactly the same. They had an incorrect account number. The credit union ended up waiving the fee because they saw the other payment came in and they could tell it was a mistake, but that mistake was on CreditAssociates.

    I'm trying to get out of debt. They should be a bit more on top of it. Instead, I had to do all the legwork. I had to spend hours on the phone talking with the credit union, to their collections department, to their go-to person that deals with debt settlement companies, to have them resolve it. That took 10 hours if I added up all the hours between CreditAssociates and then talking to my credit union.

    I was also able to either settle the accounts on my own or I just added more money into the account. It was a 48-month contract and I settled all the accounts in 12 months. I was also told that I would get a certificate and a check in the mail because of a whopping $10 that they owe me. However, I still haven't received either one of those and this has been settled over a month ago. If I ever got myself in that situation again, which hopefully, that would never be the case, I would never use CreditAssociates.

When I have a question or concern, I just call and their customer service answers my question. So, so far, I'm satisfied with their results. Each time I call, it doesn't take long for them to answer.     I've been with CreditAssociates since 2019 and I reckon I paid a great deal of debt. My debt's getting paid off and that's the comfort of knowing that what I've done is the right thing to do. That had not have been done without CreditAssociates' attribution. There are times where I have an offer that is higher than my expectations, and we will try to get that offer locked at the same rate, negotiate the offer, or possibly pay it off. Even though there's a short amount in the account, we are able to lock that rate and that offer until our part is meeting their demand. My understanding is that it's already paid off at the rate they’ll ask me even though the amount in the account is a bit shorter. Then I would have a negative account. But the negative account is still valid and they are paying it off and then give me a chance to accumulate again. I'm kind of pre-amazed that things like that could be going on.

    I liked the way their rep Scott talked to me when I called and was asking questions. I've never been one not to pay a bill on time, so it's been very stressful. Scott made me at ease. Also, their customer service department has been very helpful when I've had to call. I've been on medical leave for going on a little over four years.     I am impressed with CreditAssociates. It's helped my health. I feel pretty good about the company. The representatives have been very informative, understanding nice, courteous, and very clear. They assured me that things look pretty good, and they’re still working at it. It might take approximately three years to clear up. So far, it's been 13, 14 months now and the progress has been fantastic because they review some things with me.

    The last request was $70 coming out on the 27th, so about six months. They said that would help them pay off things faster. I haven't gone back to work, but I'm not doing as many hours. I can afford that large payment and that has half a great deal. But I wish CreditAssociates went a little bit faster. I only have seven credit cards and about three or four have just been satisfied. I tried to cancel one time because it's too slow. It's already almost a year and I still haven't received a call. One card was only 1,600 but they've called me three times a day and they even called my wife. That was too much.     I liked CreditAssociates very much. I've worked with several reps and they were very nice. The only thing I wish they did was maybe every quarter, they'd send out a report how it's coming along. I always have to call and ask, “How is it?” I was paying $500 a month or maybe even more. Then I got a large amount from unemployment, retractive, and so I called back to CreditAssociates and asked if I could send about $3,000 extra. They could take it out of my account if they could lower my monthly to $400. They agreed, so that sold me then because I could afford that a month.

    When I came across CreditAssociates, I spoke to a gentleman to help set up the account and asked a ton of questions to understand what the process would be, and what a timeline would look like.     I asked my banker about CreditAssociates. They did a little research, then she agreed. We also did a little research, as far as reviews and what people thought, then decided to go with them. It was easy to get set up. As far as following the program, there isn't much out there. There's a website to see what they're paying and how they're paying, who they're paying, but we've been unable to get on to it. We asked for help several times and they said we gotta go to this website and click that icon right there. It's not that easy, so we've had a little difficulty as far as following the progress.

    There are so many departments and levels. When you call in for one thing, you gotta go to this department, that department and other departments. They get it done, it takes a while, but it could be more organized. Have one or two people that particularly handle my account instead of I get people that can't speak English. And it's like, "I'm sorry." I just tell them straight out that I would have to call back. I get that person again, and sometimes, I don't. There's a communication breakdown a lot of times. I just couldn't understand him or her. It doesn't work for me. I'm hard of hearing. I can only hear on the one ear and I'm a lip reader. When I'm on the phone with them, I can’t read their lips. I wish they would have a certain number of people that we strictly deal with. Other than that, they've been good.

    The information that was given to me when I called CreditAssociates was very useful. There was no pressure. They just told me what they thought they could do. Then I told them that I would talk to my wife about this, and we would come up with a list of who and what we thought we needed to put into the program. Then we talked to the rep on a second call and gave him a list of what we wanted to do and went from there.

    We've got over 50% of our debts settled. When CreditAssociates get to the point where there is sufficient cash in the account to make an offer on an account, as a rule, we are notified if we would accept that particular amount on that particular bill. They're very knowledgeable about what they do. We've gone a long way and we're getting close to the end. All in all, My wife and I are both very satisfied.     As I made my minimum credit card payments, it seemed like the interest never did go down. It was way too high. I called CreditAssociates to see what they could work out. It seemed like they had a good plan and are not charging a really high amount. I pay $377 a month. They've settled with 7 of the 10 accounts. There's just one credit card and OneMain that they got to settle with. So, so far, everything's okay. They say they'll be able to settle with the credit one and OneMain as more money comes in.

    When I called them, I spoke with Taylor and he said, “Let's go over the credit cards that you want to put on this, and small loans” which was what I did. He figured out everything for me. If you've got credit cards where they're raising interest because you might have been late on a payment, CreditAssociates would be a good company to go with to pay them off and not have to pay all that extra high interest over that pay off period.

    I talked with CreditAssociates and I liked their way and what they said. But they didn’t follow through on what I asked. I told them to keep in touch but about a whole year went by and I didn't have a clue what was happening. Bank of America sent me a letter and made an offer. It was $1,400 payment cut down to 500 something. That was a fair offer but CreditAssociates missed the first payment and botched that whole contract. I called CreditAssociates rep and asked what they were doing and he said that he thought that I was gonna pay it. I had everything in writing and they still insisted that because I passed the deal that was sent to me to them to deal with, they felt I was going to pay for it. I told the rep that they didn't tell me anything. They gave me a list of things that I should've written down, that these will be paid up by February of 2022, four accounts.

    They take that $285 a month out for three and a half years and they say that I'll be debt-free. I realized that I gave the rep carte blanche that CreditAssociates would make $285 a month regardless. In other words, if they can do better and negotiate better prices, they can actually make more money and drag this out for the full three and a half years instead of paying it sooner and saving me from taking 285. I've figured out that I'm only been paying $11,000 over that contract. I'm almost better off trying to solve it myself. But they claim that I'm under contract now and I can't get out of it. I live off social security and $285 out of my check every month leaves me very close to $1,000 a month.

    Now, I have another offer and I'm thinking of paying it myself. It's a total of 4,000 and I can pay that off for $1,200. I can pay it off. But I want CreditAssociates to cut the contract back and take some months off. But the communications were not there. I would never recommend CreditAssociates to anybody with the way I had been handled.

    Everyone from CreditAssociates has been wonderful. Any time I've had a question or emailed or called, they've been very helpful. I had been putting the 500 a month since last year. I had to have them split the payment between my two paydays. I pay the 300 on one paycheck, and then the 200 on the second one. There were two times that I was only able to pay 300 for the month and they said that it was fine. They were able to get the cards down. They're on the fourth one right now.     The rep explained everything to me and gave me an idea of what my monthly expense would look like per month to clear everything. I was risking giving up my cards but in the future, I could always rebuild my credit and reapply. At the time, I needed CreditAssociates. I noticed the changes right away since I started working with them. They started reaching out to the credit card people and working with them to minimize the amount overall in addition to just paying for the bills. On top of that, the communication was excellent because every time something was in the works, I was informed through either email or voicemail. I was always in the loop of what was going on and what was taking place. At times, I even had to approve things, which felt good. Everything has been paid already. I can't complain about anything.

    I'm glad that I decided to do this when I did, because during this whole being home still a year and a half later, I have not been financially stressed with any bills, which is crazy because I'm not working and I have very little income. But it seems to be okay to survive and it feels good. But if I had those credit card debts, I would have been losing my mind and not being able to do what I need to do with buying certain items for the baby.     My credit score dropped but that was gonna happen anyway because I wasn't able to make more than minimum payments due. At times, I probably wouldn't have been able to make any payments.     CreditAssociates had the lowest interest rate. They offered me consecutive direct deposit and they promised me that they will get the debt below half of what it is that I owed. It would make the payments and everything go faster, and my credit wouldn't be affected because they would come to terms with the debtors, so that I wouldn't have to worry about certain things. So, that sounded good to me. It might not be exactly what I owed but if you took off the interest rates and the late fees, it probably is exactly what was owed. And it was good that I would be able to pay the debtors back. So, I was happy with that.

    As I went on, I gave CreditAssociates full access and reins to everything and I came to realize that I’m paying back more than what I owe. I was thinking that they were working with the people and we were still at 600. But the debt is up to 1,300. Then, they would come to a negotiation and they would be settling for 800. They would tack on their fee, which is 500, which went right back up to 1,300. It was ridiculous. If I would have made the arrangement myself, I would just pay $600. CreditAssociates already paid so if I pull out now, I’ll still lose.

    I just talked to the young lady and she confirmed with me. She said she was sorry that nobody explained it in depth to me and that what they do is they get their percentage or for whatever the enrollment debt was. I said that my enrollment debt is not even the debt that they have now. They allowed this to escalate. When I first came to them, I was paying down everything myself and they said they could do better for me and all that they would be knocking out are extra interest charges and late fees. But that was not what happened. They have two more things but I'm not gonna let them work on that for me. I'm pulling my plug. I’m gonna take a pension loan and pay, and that’s something I should have done in the beginning and paid everything off.

    CreditAssociates is gonna work with you as far as how your credit score is now. When they first came to me, my credit score was high but my interest rate became 25%. They said that the guy who initially called me no longer works there. The second person I was working with no longer works there too. So, whoever got ahold of it, they put my interest rate at 25%. So now, they’re charging 25% off the whole balance and not off the negotiated balance.

    If they were paying it all back and my credit was saved, hooray. They make it sound like my credit won’t be affected but that’s a lie because I have things on my credit report now. The people on my credit report were saying I owe them $4,000 and if CreditAssociates was telling me they negotiated it for this amount, that should be fraudulent charges. That’s not accurate.. They said that that was what creditors do but that was not what they told me when they got me into their program. I’m a homeowner and right now, I can’t even take advantage of the low interest rates because nobody would touch me because my credit is low. I couldn't even refinance if I wanted to.

    Working with CreditAssociates wrecked my credit and I’m still dealing with the backlash. They helped me. It’s just my credit score is still below 600 and it has been a year. They said it would take six months but it has been twice as long as they said, and it's just a hassle. I signed the contract. I made that decision. That's lesson learned. But if I could go back in time, I would not have done it. And I would have just paid my credit cards off.

    CreditAssociates seemed pretty genuine and helpful when I first called them so I went with them. When the program started, they said that it'd take 41 months. But I might be a lot closer than that because of the extra funds I put in there eight months ago. I go online and I look at what's going on. Then I know what they take out every month out of my account because it goes through Global. It has been a pretty easy process and as long as I make my payment every month until it's rectified, everything seems to be going pretty good. CreditAssociates has worked hard with resolving issues with the creditors. I also haven't received any calls from the creditors for nine months now.

    I’ve been in the program with CreditAssociates for about six months to a year. So, I'm trying to slowly pay off some stuff. Their reps gave me a script they read, and that was pretty much it. I never heard from anybody. Now, I can log on and the website is generic. So when I first got into it, I was skeptical because it almost looked like it was a scam. I also don't get any charge-off letters from people that they told me they've paid. I wish CreditAssociates can send a monthly statement to help keep track of my financial goals and how it is affecting my credit rating. I'm still getting letters from some of the people saying they haven't received anything but CreditAssociates has advised me not to talk to them.

    The customer service was wonderful. Every time I call, they’re happy to help me. I’m glad I signed up with CreditAssociates. I make my monthly payments every month and then, they let me know when I get a good deal. They already got me a great deal on the first one. So, I like them a lot. I already have one card paid off and the next card is in the process. Then, I have one more after that that hasn't started yet. So, I'm getting there. One thing that sucks is my credit score went from being in the 700s down to the low 5 and I'm super-duper bummed out about that because there's nothing I can do. I have to rely on the money I make from working and I don't have any backup. If you have a credit card, you think you always have money and so, that was what messed me up. That was the first time I had credit cards ever. So, it happened quickly that I racked them up to something crazy.

    CreditAssociates was telling me about how much interest they would save me over the long run, which I appreciated. If anybody's gonna get into it, they should stick with it and don't get discouraged and don't give up. Your score is gonna go down and it’s gonna go back up once you keep making your payments on time. I would recommend Credit Associates to other people in my situation.

    I signed up for a three-year program with CreditAssociates and I'm happy with their services.. They get a certain agreed amount from my bank account every month that I use to help pay down those debts that I have. They are negotiating my credit cards at a lower amount and making payments so that I can afford it, because I’m unemployed. Any time they do a negotiation, I’ll get a text and an email. I’m also able to go online and see if I want to accept that offer or reject it. I just let them know. They have a high interest rate once a debt is negotiated but it’s still a lot less than if I had to pay the credit card directly.

    I always wanted to do consolidation when I first heard of it. When I got my new job, it gave me a little bit more elbow room to be able to afford it as I always wanted to get my credit back up to par. But I just never had those finances to be able to do so. CreditAssociates was the most organized when it came to dealing with paying off creditors and all of that good stuff. I can get my credit built back up that way, so I can be able to get a home. That was the primary thing. Every time I called there or talked to someone, it was a different person. But every last one of them was great, very helpful, nice, and was making sure that they helped me the whole entire way. Any questions I had, they answered efficiently. A couple of times, I had a few struggles with the payment, but I came over that. It wasn't on them. It was mostly on my financial side.

    We got out of hand with our credit cards. It seemed like the more I paid, the more it went up. It never went down. We reached out to CreditAssociates. Their customer service listened to what I had to say and told me what I needed to do. I did it. Settling the debts took a while because I was not behind on anything. They wanted me to get behind on anything before we did anything. We did settle one already, and one's being processed. One thing I'm not real happy about was I was not aware of how much they charge to do this. They settled for 3,000 and charged me 1,500. I'm paying so much, but I don't see where my payments are going. They can be more transparent on how much they're gonna charge to do this. That was something I was surprised about. I haven't decided to do something different, but I wasn't happy with how much they're charging and what they're not paying. They're getting the job done, but it's really costing me a lot of money.

    CreditAssociates should improve on their communication. Especially with the client, like their client with us and their outreach with us. It's hard to get access sometimes to customer service. I hope there's an easier way to access them quicker. But then they have helped me turn around my credit so far. I've probably knocked down every credit card except the one so I'm satisfied.
