Back on May 14th, 2024 I was notified by Equifax and Transunion that my credit score dropped 39 points because Community Loan Serving reported to them that I was 150 days late in May, June and July of 2018 but ironically I was not with CLS, I was with Bayview Loan and these three payments were my three trail payments of a loan modification I was in the middle of with Bayview Loan and I have a confirmation # that I paid all three well in advance of their due date, so I’d love to know where my money went? In October of 2019 my loan was transferred from Bayview Loan to BofA and I have been with them ever since with an excellent payment history. Needless to say I am beyond disappointed and taking further action and getting a lawyer.

We were sent a notice that about updating our insurance. We emailed the information in, got a reply the email was invalid from the letter we received, searched the site. Came up with another email, sent the information in, left numerous messages for our direct contact Ramses, never got a call back. Sent numerous emails from their Submit Here form. No reply back. Their phone number extensions go nowhere and consistently disconnect the line. Now they are charging us an insane amount for coverage we already have! We even tried calling the insurance claim number in Michigan...Sorry this number doesn't exist! This company is a mess. Maybe now I'll get a reply.

For the last few months, I have been having issues with the insurance info they are providing. First I was told a property needed flood insurance that was not in a flood zone. My insurance agent called and sent them the info showing it and the response he got was that I needed it. I placed the insurance on the property and submitted the paperwork as the letter stated. A few weeks later, I received a notice that lender placed insurance was put on the property. When I called in the lady I spoke with looked it up and submitted a request to have it cancelled.
It still has not been cancelled and I can not figure out who I need to speak with to get this corrected. I am also out $312 from the insurance that I placed and ended up cancelling but did not get a full refund. I am now receiving letters about other properties on the same loan and they are also incorrect according to the lady I spoke to when I called in. I would like to speak with somebody that can get all this resolved and ensure that the lender placed insurance has been removed from my escrow. Very dissatisfied with how this issue is being handled.

Worst servicing provider.. I need it my password reset.. You have to call their customer service. To my surprise I press every single option and tell me that they are not available but but in every single department it keeps telling me to call Neil? I even try to reach someone in the Spanish department and it the machine tell me that Neil is unavailable. Is Neil the only person that runs that servicing company...I understand to start small but for something so serious as my mortgage I would like to have a choice to speak to more than one person.
Also, I receive a cancelation notice from my insurance. They didn't pay so I talk to them and they say I have to pay it and that my loan is set up to only escrow for one year. So I said, "fine," so I pay the insurance company part of it cause was not expecting $2,888. Bill at once. Then I got a letter saying my loan amount will be around $220 or so dollars less which I figure it makes sense since I am now covering insurance, then Neil call me saying about they set up my escrow again cause it was a mistake before, they are confuse of what they are doing there.. And they will reimbursed me for what I pay for the insurance.. They change your loan as they please and I can't even see it cause Neil never reset the password. He is too busy probably running all the departments.
I am keeping a track on them and going to re-read all my fine print and I will start looking to contact the best business borrow. I don't think banking should be something they should be just winging. I wish I can move to another servicing company.. Be aware of this company ... To all banks looking for a cheap servicing company out there please consider your customer first...

My parents were approved for a senior citizen tax exemption. Tax refund was sent by the county to the mortgage company. Was told by Community Loan Servicing that things were being taken care of and should be ready in a couple weeks. Well, it's been MONTHS of runarounds. Can't get through on the phone and can't get any email reply. Extremely frustrating. Highly unprofessional, unethical, and seems downright illegal.

The customer service people were friendly. But I just got a bill in the mail that's $2,000 more than what we had discussed. I asked if there were going to be any additional fees I needed to be aware of so I could prep for that payment. I was told that there would just be a monthly payment. Now, I'm sitting with a bill that's a whole lot more than what they quoted me. That's a little bit unnerving. Other than that, the terms are fair. They just need to be more detailed when giving explanations so that people are fully prepared for payments that are coming their way.

This is one of the worst servicing companies I have ever worked with. I work as a commercial lender and also invest my personal money into real estate, so have a lot of experience with loan servicing. Community Loan Servicing may be one of the worst servicers I have seen, and I have worked with some fairly bad ones. They failed to pay my flood insurance after I repeatedly called them for over 2 months. They kept telling me that the insurance premium was paid, and I believed them the first 2 calls. Then after following up with the insurance company they kept reiterating that the premium had NOT been paid by Community Loan Servicing. Therefore, I kept calling Community Loan Servicing to ask for a proof of payment. Again they said they would send me the proof of payment right away, but it never showed up.
This dance went on for about 2 months, and the insurance premium was never paid, so I had to pay out of pocket to make sure there was no lapse in coverage. Even though I know community loan service would of been liable if there was an insurance claim and the coverage had lapsed per the loan agreement, I did not want to deal with a long drawn out lawsuit that could affect the tenants at the property. I would NEVER recommend this servicing company to anyone in the lending world. This kind of servicer will ruin your client relationships and make sure you never get a deal done again.

I've had a good experience with Community Loan Servicing. I was going through a modification and right in the middle of my modification was when Community took over. We finished that up then we went right into pandemic, which worked out in my favor. They've been nothing but kind. I wanted to write the president a note saying how generous they were as a single person trying to make all these ends meet. The problem with me was in my condo, they also hit us up with a $12,000 special assessment. When I started here, they were 200 to 500, and now they're almost 800. It happened the same time between not working and getting that hit up. It worked out in my favor because Community Loan Servicing was so kind about me putting my mortgage on the back end.
I'm happy with the customer service. Sometimes I have to not rob Peter to pay Paul, but sometimes I have to pay my assessment before my mortgage and I have to pay them because they're both kind of big ticket items. I move on between which one is coming up and Community Loan Servicing is nice about that. I have done that a couple of times and probably have to do that again. They're very flexible and I'm not getting big late fees. My credit score has gone up too. The only thing was in the beginning I had to do a lot of paperwork. They were a little difficult and my account was getting bounced around here and there. I never truly knew who my direct contact was. Now, it seems I don't have a single representative that handles my accounts at all.

I purchased a 4th house for a rental before my wife and I went on our church mission. For the past 10 years my mortgages were on auto pay with additional money going to principal. Which is why I could go on a mission early, I had 3 debt-free rental properties. Since this was a new loan it was not paid off before leaving on mission. We once again were on auto pay, the loan was sold to Community Loan Servicing. Everything including autopay was supposed to stay, (nothing would change). Wrong, the auto pay fell off and their crappy service would NOT allow me to put it back on auto pay. So my payment was late, the first thing they did was ding my credit. I wrote a letter and even called customer service, NOPE the lady was even rude and almost proud about the fact they ding my credit. 10 years no late mortgage payment until Community Loan Servicing. I would actually MORE money to change who serviced my loan at this point.

Community Loan Servicing handled every situation or problem that came up such as questions about the escrow account and about the increase in the payments. I have been doing business with them for almost two years now and they're always very responsive. The representatives take their time to look into the history of things and the notes, and they help me figure it out. However, I thought our agreement was a 40-year loan. Now, I understand it is a 50-year loan. There are also some things that I can't understand, like why my loan never decreases. When you pay in, you expect the movement of your principal to go down. Community Loan Servicing acquired my Bayview Lending account, and I have a mortgage arrangement with them. They've been providing information ahead of time. They made the COVID Assistance components available to me based on my needs. So, I've been good with them. The different persons who go into my account appear to cover the information thoroughly before they look at my present situation. They appear to be professional in their approaches, and I'm not having any problems with getting my situation updated. Unfortunately, it's been changing quite a bit due to these last couple of years.
Community Loan sends materials that indicate services like refinance or the loan adjustment. I really appreciate those things being available, and I hope to take advantage of them. One thing though, their opening statement always indicates something that reminds me that they are a debt collection service, which is different than saying they're a mortgage holder or mortgage assistance. To me, debt collection puts them in the mind of loan sharks. That causes a negative additional response and if that's not a necessary introduction, there might be a way to rephrase it a bit. A debt collector is not necessarily concerned with your current or changing scenario, whereas the mortgage company is in it for the long term. So, they should be more concerned with your changing scenarios.

I called once and the representative said that nothing can happen until they set it up. I said okay and I quit calling. I think it has been resolved but I am part of the problem. I live in Virginia and Michigan, and I'm currently in San Diego. So, if anything came in the mail, it hasn't gotten to me yet. When we get things set up, I'm gonna pay the loan off. I don't like that they've put something on their website or in their messaging that said that if I don't have a number from them yet, I should standby because I can't do anything until they make a number for me.

There were some hiccups with the initial paperwork flow where things didn't happen quite as quickly as my wife expected, particularly the idea of welcome packages. The “Here's how to contact us and here's how to set things up” were slower off the mark than my wife was expecting. There was a month or so where we had to mail paper checks to the company rather than already have auto pay set up. I’d like their process of loan setup and initial interaction with the customer to happen more quickly and cleanly than it did because my wife should not have had to reach out to them. They should have been reaching out to us. And in this day and age, they should have given us the opportunity for and all the instructions for auto pay right off the bat.

The last rep I talked to was pretty nice. She explained what needs to be done and showed us the forbearance plan and stuff like that. Also, she had a solution for everything I asked. She told me to hold on, which I didn't mind at all, and did a lot of searching. She broke everything down for me and put more effort out to help me. I appreciate it. So far, the experience with Community Loan Servicing was pretty good, although they could give more instructions when they send paperwork to sign. I was kind of lost what was going on.

David, we really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. We look forward to working with you again in the future!

The young lady that helped me a couple of weeks ago was very helpful. She even went so far as to text or email one of the supervisors because there was a question I had, and she wasn't quite sure how to answer it. She went above the call of duty to do that for me. I'm feeling really good about Community Loan Servicing.

At first, Community Loan Servicing sent a letter and I was kinda mixed up with it then. After that, I just called in and did what I had to do. They were nice about it. During the pandemic, the customer service called to see if we needed any help. Even now, they ask if we need any help as far as anything that we have to do.

I got on a schedule where Community Loan Servicing makes a partial payment like half of it every two weeks because I wanted to get ahead. Each year, I have an extra payment. So, their rep told me the process. He said, "Because you're caught up. So your next one's not even due till January." What we did was he took me off the automated one for now. Then this month, I'm just going to call Community and make a payment and tell them, “I want that 100% on principal,” and then we'll get it back on the every other week for January because I like to stay ahead.
The only thing is their automated operator, when you're kind of waiting, keep saying, “Community is a debt collector. Any communication is an attempt to collect the debt.” I'm totally on time. I'm not in any of that category. I'm not sure why they always have that on there, and I don't like it. Other than that, the process with getting it set up with every other week with them has been pretty good. I told them, "Well, I want to get ahead. I have an extra payment every year." He said, "Call in December." When I called them, the associate was really helpful.

Community Loan deducted two payments of $1148.68 from my bank account on 11/29/21 which resulted in an overdraft on my account. I have been trying to speak to an actual person to get this resolved and a refund processed most of the day. I have attempted to call 4 times in the past 3 hours! After holding for 20 minutes, I was disconnected 3 times! I finally reached a woman named Time who said she would transfer me to a Specialty Agent so I could get this resolved. I need this money to pay bills!! The phone number gave me was wrong! I then called again, held for over 29 minutes and spoke to another woman named "Briana". She was very nice but gave me the phone number for the HELP DESK, I then tried to call back and got 3 different recordings and when I FINALLY reached a person (CAD) after holding for 52 MINUTES. Not 5 minutes, not 20 minutes but an hour!
I think maybe they only have 4 employees in the company or they are giving me the run around ON PURPOSE to avoid refunding the duplicate payment they took! This company is the most inefficient company I have ever dealt with. I have tried a few things to get to speak to SOMEONE to help me and refund my money!! When I got the Help Desk because I was given the wrong number, I left a message anyway and asked them to transfer it to the CORRECT DEPARTMENT to process my payment because I was getting the royal run around! I called the second number I received from Briana and was on hold for close to an hour before I gave up! I honestly don’t know how this company stays in business. I hope to get my mortgage away from Community Loan and transferred to a better run company where I would actually be able to speak to a person instead of wasting my day on hold or listening to the same recordings over & over again.

When I was getting closer, making a decision whether I was going to pay it off or let it go, I would call and talk to them and they were wishy-washy. There were a lot of communication problems with the other person on the other line. Whether they were Latino or Indian, I just couldn't understand what they were saying.
