After having our loan with CitiMortgage for several years they transferred it to another provider, something that is common practice. The problem is that they never told me that they were doing this. I did not receive any form of communication, email, mail or phone call, regarding the transfer of my mortgage. The only reason I eventually figured it out is because they sent me a letter telling me that they did not draft my payment. After about 10 minutes of combing through their website, I finally found a notification that my loan had been moved. This is a completely unacceptable practice for both a company the size of Citi and any type of mortgage provider.

We paid off our home in February of 2011 and received a 'Full Deed of Release' on March 25, 2011. Now, 7 years later we are selling our home and 2 days before closing the Title company finds that CitiMortgage wrote the WRONG Legal Description on the Full Deed of Release. They called the CitiMortgage and CitiMortgage fully admit and acknowledge that the home is PAID off in full, and that it IS their mistake, but say it will take 30 days to correct THEIR MISTAKE and say they can't just FIX it with a letter stating that they do NOT have a lien or money owed on the home!!!

The buyer is now becoming 'worried' and we might lose the sale of our home due to CitiMortgage dragging out what seems to be an easy fix. We are also incurring all kinds of expense due to having our belonging in storage and living in an empty home because we thought we were moving and we will most likely lose the house we were supposed to buy with the proceeds of our home sale!!! DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER CITIMORTGAGE as a LENDER or you might end up being held HOSTAGE by their incompetence in the future!!!

This business has my HEL attached to the wrong house! They have it attached to a home I have sold and are now calling in the loan because of this error! They are asking me to send proof etc when I keep telling them to just look at the note... which has the correct address. I have also been trying for 18 months to get them to change my address. This should be a simple thing... yet with Citibank it seems to be very difficult. Their customer service team are rude and incompetent to help with certain issues. You get transferred back and forth between departments and end up getting no help. I have spent over 50 hours in last 18 months to have them update my address. I don’t have time for this. Beware!!!

I have been in my home for 18 years, during that time CitiMortgage purchased my loan in 2006 which has been a pain in the butt. The first problem was when I switch insurance companies and I received a reimbursement check. Once I mailed the check into CitiMortgage the fund was applied to my late fees which should went to the escrow account which made my house payment go up additional $350 something I could not afford. I call CitiMortgage several times stating there had been a mistake and was told they can apply my money any way they want to.

The second problem was in 2017 the company stop mailing me statements (it's the voucher you receive each month stating how the funds were applied to the account and the amount received each month) which did not make sense. They continue to cash my checks without providing me with a statement. I call them and they stated I would need to request a statement. Why would I need to request a billing envelope and coupon if you have had my loan for 10 plus years? I am very unhappy with this company would not recommend this company to anyone. They’re just as bad as Wells Fargo. Customer are the reason you’re (CitiMortage) in busy.

I was processing a home mortgage with less than 20% down. So I attended a mandatory 1st time home buyers workshop for general information about getting a loan. There I met a CitiBank lender, Sandy ** , NMLS ID: **, (Aka Sandolio **) that a after a very brief talk, mostly pushing his Citibank loans programs, encourage some of us to apply with Citi (he interviewed everyone in that room about income, debts and assets). To make the story short, So I applied, got a pre qual and approval. The problem started later when he referred me to his friend a Realtor, Aricides **.

I told him I would go with my own realtor, but he kept insisting that I use his friend Aricides ** since he was the only who had knowledge about houses and zip codes that would qualify me for Citibank program "Homerun" where they promise low down payment, no points, and no PMI. I told him that this was a red flag for me that's I would not continue. Also, I have a score of 820 with no credit card debt and still my interest was being quoted at 4.625 and APR of 4.92** and with 5% down even though I had at least %10, anyway stay clear of him and perhaps CitiBank. I believe what he was doing is illegal, don't have the time to find out. Stay clear of doing business with him.

I refinanced my original 30 year mortgage to a 15 year mortgage in 2003. I paid it off early last year. During the entire length of the mortgage I had no problems whatsoever. I experienced hail damage to my roof at one point and my insurance company and I had to deal with CitiMortgage for the insurance payments. They were very eager to help and everything went smoothly. I recommend CitiMortgage 100%.

I have had my mortgage with Citi for 12 years. It wasn't the originator. Citi purchased the mortgage. For, probably, the first 7 years, or so, the company was a bloody nightmare. Of late, however, they seem to have gotten their act together. Of course, all I ever do is send them a monthly check. It seems, these days, to be sufficient. But before they settled down, they were extremely aggressive, and very obnoxious.

Received foreclosure papers for the week of May 7, 2018, but CitiMortgage Website Account and PNC Personal Bank Account verifies payments indeed have been "received, accepted, withdrawal and cashed" for home loan ** by CitiMortgage. I called CitiMortgage in the morning of 5/15/2018 to the phone 866-272-4749. According to the CitiMortgage Foreign Representative, "no payments have been accepted, cashed or documented in database" since November 2017. Again, the CitiMortgage Foreign Representative stated, "No payments have been received for loan ** for over 7 months." I verified and validated loan data account numbers with the rep. I verified loan account on CitiMortgage's website. Their own data contradicts itself. See attached file for clear proof of FRAUD.

Now, my home is in foreclosure action with Cuyahoga County Municipal Court for Civil Foreclosure Case **. I called the Cleveland Court System to verify and get a copy of the summons stating, no payments have been made in months. The CitiMortgage Foreign Representative stated, "All I can do is launch an investigation." Meanwhile, my home goes into FALSE FORECLOSURE. Looking for immediate assistance, And if not possible, looking for a Counter Lawsuit with Unwarranted Medical Expense Damage for constant vomiting and Lawyer Fee Compensation. Contact Tina ** and Mike ** at ** or **. Again, CitiMortgage's own data is in complete contradiction of itself on the CitiMortgage Website compared to the CitiMortgage Foreign Representative.

I will be homeless due to no family or friends if I cannot stop the foreclosure. The Cleveland Shelters have a waiting list. I will be on the streets living. Both my husband and I reside "live" on the property. My husband is and has been employed. On top of this, we made a payment on May 10, 2018, that has still not been credited to our web account or charged/cashed to our PNC account. The CitiMortgage also stated, "we have no acknowledgment of you or your husband calling about being concerned about your account." "We have no phone records of you calling making payment arrangements over the phone either." "We have no payments from last week in May 2018 either, according to our database." My husband called and mailed payment to CitiMortgage by USPS.

Updated on 06/06/2018: I compared "MY MORTGAGE" data section for (1) Last Paid Amount field, (2) Last Paid Date field and (3) Next Payment Due Date. All information is incorrect. On June 1, 2018, the web data stated, "Next Payment Due Date 11/01/2017." Again, in 2018, it states that our next payment due date is 11/01/2017. Wouldn't it be June/01/2018??? I want to inform the public that there is no way you, as a consumer could possibly manage your mortgage effectively when the company doesn't even know what year or month it is. Why is this acceptable to consumers?

I was diagnosed with a disabling progressive aggressive Multiple Sclerosis, following this my husband suddenly died at the age of 39. With all this going on I requested a modification. I was deemed unemployable and had to take a early retirement and Social Security. To make things even worse is I had 8 different specialist. My paperwork was being passed around to all these different homeowner specialist and LOST.

Finally I have a specialist that sounds positive and knows what is going on? Just then a letter was sent to me saying they have all the documents necessary. No need for anything further! I was relieved. But then she started asking for the same redundant documents that I had sent numerous Times!! I had no choice but to hire an attorney that I can’t afford. Where to begin with this company. My husband owns a house with his friend; over a year go my husband's friend passed away. The house had been a rental a property at that point as they were both in the military and stationed elsewhere since they bought the house. When he passed away one of the things Citi told my husband that it would be easier if the house was empty then as soon as everything was approved for the bank to take possession of the house they wouldn't have to wait for the lease to be up.

After the lease was up a month later the house stayed empty; the bank did could board the house up. Since then my husband has submitted paperwork every other week sometimes the same documents over and over and with them telling him that our taxes were done wrong and that we need to redo them. At least twice a month he gets a paper in the mail saying he has been reassigned to a new person. It has gotten so bad that he got in the mail an appraisal for somebody else house in the mail with all their information on it. Every month he has been submitting his LES to keep the paperwork current so it doesn't "expire" and have to start again.

Now a year plus later it finally gets to the underwriter and underwriter is asking him for the same documents he filled out to start the process. Of course, you can never talk to anybody. You have to email them, set up a phone call, and then wait for them to call you. He never even got phone call or email response back when he notified them that he received an appraisal for some other person's home. For the last year he has been making payments keeping it current. This is on top of the rent we pay for where we are stationed now.

It is getting frustrating just mentally for him to relive his friend's death every time he gets a piece a paper in the mail with both their names on it and financially for us it takes a whole paycheck to pay the mortgage and rent. This is by far the worst mortgage company ever. Both of us have owned homes with other mortgage companies and have sold them and never experienced anything like this. And to top it all off since the house has been sitting so long empty and we are not there to be able to check on it, we got a phone call today from the neighbor that it had been broken into and the fence had been destroyed.

Applied for a mortgage with CitiMortgage and was honest in that I needed to apply with the Freddie and Fannie new guidelines of "Excluding Debts Paid by others if you can show 12 month bank statements". The loan representative said (1) my loan documents were not clear, so I resend them. (2) I would need to put 20% down instead of 10% and I said ok. (3) The new guidelines can only be used if the other person was a co-signer so I sent her the Freddie and Fannie new stipulation in writing saying that was not correct and finally (4) The manager had me send 12 months of canceled checks and bank statements matching bills paid - which I did! Finally, they told me they don't follow Freddie and Fannie! What a waste of time and how unprofessional. I am so glad I applied to two other banks of which I was approved. People stay far away from this place - no wonder they were sued. Scam artists FRAUD!!!

I checked the website and says loan in process and every morning I would receive an email at 1:37 am that your documents are no longer available. Then I get a call from the appraiser. REALLY. I could not confirm if they received the papers I faxed. I called a manager which never called and a personal processor called me that could not answer a simple question and told me they need the paperwork and to call my loan officer that still has not responded.

Citi is looking to send the appraiser for 500 dollars and they know damn well they had no intentions of giving me that loan. This is a disgrace. NOBODY CALLS YOU BACK BUT THE APPRAISER. I was a faithful customer with CitiMortgage. I paid off my mortgage five years earlier than my contract. On my last payment, Citi decided to sale my mortgage to another company. Instead of switching, I paid my mortgage off before the due date. It has now at the point where Citi is doing everything in their power to keep my escrow refund. They’ve “stooped” so low that they claimed that they already sent it and it was cashed already. Of course they are buying more time for you to fill out forms so that they can hold my money even longer. They sent a copy of the check and the signature (which appear to be different checks, with different numbers). No one at Citi can explain why the back of the check does not correspond to the front. However, they want to fill out a series of forms in order to prolong the period in which a very wealthy company like Citi can continue to hold on to the money of a customer. NEVER AGAIN!

In order to prevail in a court of law, CitiMortgage and their local attorneys committed fraud on the court by altering a sworn affidavit and adding a forged endorsement onto a fabricated note. I am in the process of suing the attorney who forged the affidavit and discussing the matter with the FBI who believes there is sufficient evidence of fraud to charge the attorney who participated in this fraud and forgery (prison and disbarment). CitiMortgage is aware that the attorney committed fraud but has not taken action. CitiMortgage has grown brazen with the belief that they can engage in fraud with impunity - that the courts will look the other way.

Fortunately for me, when you commit fraud on the record - it is much more difficult to get away with the crime or to claim plausible deniability. CitiMortgage operates as a criminal enterprise - therefore it is a criminal enterprise. Because of ongoing litigation and the fear of retribution I am unable to become a verified buyer - but I honorably promise I have had a mortgage with CitiMortgage for over a decade and it has been the most horrible decade of my life.

My mother passed away on May 27, 2017 from injuries received in a home fire that destroyed her home which is financed by CitiMortgage. I filed a claim for her homeowners insurance the first business day after her death to avoid late payment and threat of foreclosure, exactly what is now occurring even though insurance paid the account in full back in June 2017. In mid June, the insurance adjuster requested payoff statement as of June 30th. Payoff statement was requested twice and received by insurance company on June 18, 3017. I received a letter from the insurance company on June 19, 2017 that payment had been made to CitiMortgage. Citimortgage later confirmed that they received on June 29th and deposited on June 30th.

On August 27th, I checked my mother's PO box and found past due notices from CitiMortgage. I called CitiMortgage on August 28th but they refused to give me any information because I was not an authorized user. Said I had to submit her death certificate and proof that I was her representative. This can only be done via mail. I mailed the requested information that day and waited for contact. I called CitiMortgage on October 1th and they still refused to give me information. Said they never received proof of death or that I was her representative. Mailed again on October 12th but this time via UPS so I would have evidence that they received.

I called CitiMortgage on October 26th and they will finally talk to me. Told me that, yes they had received the funds, but they didn't apply because they needed authorization to apply from me. My argument was how was I to know that since they wouldn't talk to me and the funds were clearly intended to be a payoff. Two hours later and several transfers back and forth between people that I'd already talked to, a customer service representative told me to send a copy of the June 30th payoff statement and the requested authorization to apply to the account. This was faxed on October 30th and I have confirmation of fax.

On November 9th the insurance section called and said that I still owed $1100. Keep in mind that this $1100 is late fees and interest on the account that they didn't apply the payment to and wouldn't give me information about. I reiterated that I didn't feel like I owed this money since insurance paid on June 30th. She transferred me to Bobbie, an account supervisor. Bobbie seemed very understanding, said she would send the file to the Client Advocacy Section and she would call me back. I later found out that CitiMortgage transferred the account to Mr Cooper on November 16th. On December 8th I received a letter from Mr Cooper that I owed $3500. How is this when a few weeks earlier it was $1100 in penalties and late fees. Well, it's because CitiMortgage still had not applied the insurance and sent the mortgage to Mr Cooper instead, whose automated message says that they are a debt collection agency.

I called Mr Cooper on December 9th as soon as the lines were open. Representative said this was a CitiMortgage issue and transferred me but stayed on the phone the whole time. Spoke with Bobbie (the same one from November 9th). She remembered me. After reviewing the records and notes said that this should never had gone to Mr Cooper. Again said that she would send to Client Advocacy and, if I didn't hear back from her by December 12th to give her a callback.

No return call from Bobbie so called her back on December 13th. She was offline (meaning not there) but an email was sent to her by the representative to have her call me.

I received a phone call from Bobbie on December 14th to tell me still no word from Client Advocacy so she was escalating to her supervisor and if she didn't get an answer she would escalate to Executive Supervisor. Said she would call me back on December 15th. No phone call so I attempted to call her today (December 19th) but was told she was offline (not at work) so spoke to someone else. This person is right back to where I was in October and said I would need to handle with Mr Cooper. She is the one that told me that the mortgage was sent to Mr Cooper on 11/16/17, the period that Bobbie and Client Advocacy was supposed to be working to resolve. Is this their resolution, passing the mortgage on to another company when they were supposed to be working with me?

Oh, and during all this time, CitiMortgage paid $1176 hazard insurance from escrow for a property that doesn't even exist. I am at my wit's end. The employees at CitiMortgage have been so unhelpful while they continue to tack on fees and threaten foreclosure. At this point I feel like that is exactly what they want, to foreclose on a property that should've been paid off in June. I'm now reaching out to anyone and everyone that I can think of to make my situation know, including my State and US representatives. CitiMortgage was ordered to pay over $28 million in fines earlier this year for unfair foreclosure practices. Obviously the fine meant nothing to them since they continue to give the runaround when under threat of foreclosure, and this property should be paid in full so it shouldn't even be under threat in the first place.

That was 3 months and I have not heard a word from CITI. I was also told that she could not tell me what credit companies CITI had reported me to and that it was my responsibility to send for credit reports and let CITI know who they had reported me to. I have a HELOC with them and have been a paying customer for the past 10 years on time. I called the mortgage dept to inquire about a settlement and loan modification because the company I was working for closed their doors. They asked me to send some documents and I did. Then all hell breaks loose! They have assigned me to at least 8 different people. They will never return your calls like they claim. My blood pressure went so high and no matter who you talk to, it's the same answer which "I will call you back!" They ran my credit so many times that my score went from 860 to 710. We NEED TO FILE A SUIT against these people. Worst Bank in the world!

I have had my home mortgage with Citi Mortgage for years with no issues. I just found out with only 10 days notice that they have sold my loan to Nationstar Mtg. in Dallas TX (who is changing its name to Mr. Cooper LLC) because of all of the complaints against them. I called Citi Mortgage to complain and they said it's their right and nothing can be done. Citi Mortgage is selling loans to a company with thousands of complaints of fraud and mis-handling of customer payments. I did my research and Nationstar has a 98% disapproval rating and has ruined the credit of thousands of consumers. They do not disburse escrow payments and your home insurance drops you for non payment, people have tax liens against their homes because Nationstar does not pay your property taxes even though you pay them.

I am furious for myself and other people who are going through this. I actually called Quicken Loans and had to pay $2000.00 to get a new mortgage to avoid dealing with Nationstar. THIS is the fault of Citi Mortgage dumping the low interest loans to a debt collection company. Even if you have perfect credit and not 1 late payment this is what will happen to you in the next few months. They are getting out of the mortgage business and are selling loans to any unscrupulous company who will buy them and then will destroy your credit. Even if you apply for and get approved for a new loan they will still sell it in the next year. RUN - DO NOT WALK FROM THESE HEARTLESS GREEDY MONSTERS.

I am so frustrated with CitiMortgage. I have spent probably 12 hours talking to various supervisors at Customer Service. They constantly talk over me and treat me like I'm nothing. It's my final payment on my house. I have been with them and have a perfect track record. I was told from an individual that my payment was due end of May. I told him, "Are you sure?" and I said, "This is great because I've been in the hospital for 7 months." Why they close my automatic payment is beyond me. Why they need a check for the final payment is. I have contacted them and sat on the phone and been told and argued with over that last payment date. I talked to an individual like I said that was telling me "end of May." They refuse to go back and listen to that phone call. They tell me there's nothing they can do. They taxed a 60-day late on my credit bureau.

I am trying to purchase another house and a perfect track record ends with a 60-day late on my final payment of the house. Now do you think I would miss the last payment of my house? They sent foreclosure papers, 20 at a time, foreclosure on my final payment? You got to be out of your mind. I was in the hospital 8 months out of the last year and I have 60 for medical bills that need to be paid and bunch of paperwork, and I'm trying to pack up my house of 26 years so I can move on because I'm severely disabled. No excuses. I just want them to know the truth. They will not listen to me at all... I could just scream! Explanation point, explanation point. Good luck to anyone who tries to use this company because they suck.

It took a couple of months for us to realize it, but paid asap. Now it has been about 6 months, and we thought that we were all good, and we have not received any bills from Citibank, but upon checking our credit history, Citibank has reported us as more than 6 months delinquent. While they show our balance as zero, but this is lowering our credit score. Maybe we can sue them for the damages.

After my husband and I refinanced our mortgage from 30 to 15 years, our mortgage was sold to CitiMortgage. We paid our mortgage monthly-- plus a little additional on the principal-- without fail, for 15 years. Our last payment was due on 6/1/17 and we sat down together to pay it online only to find that CitiMortgage would not let us do that. We called customer service where we were told we had to pay an additional fee for our mortgage payoff. We agreed to pay that fee (not happily) and were told payment could not be accepted over the phone, that we had to mail a check. We were forced to mail the check FedEx to make our 6/1 deadline. Fedex notified us the check was delivered on 6/1.

On 5/31 we received a letter from CitiBank that our mortgage had been "purchased, assigned, or transferred" to CitiMortgage... the exact same address we had been paying to for 15 years, yet, technically, all we owed was our last payment and that check was in the mail. I have logged onto our mortgage account with CitiMortgage and the balance reads "0" even though our checkbook balance does not reflect the processing of our check. CitiMortgage's treatment of its clients is rude, confusing, and demoralizing. We would not recommend doing business with this company and wait anxiously for our check's cancellation.

I wanted to give it "Zero" stars, but I had to select 1-5, so that's the only reason for one star. Home flooded in August 2016 in South Louisiana. CitiMortgage gladly took my insurance check. Went through hell to have our home repaired dealing with crooked contractor. We had a 100% completion inspection on 4/13. It was usually an ordeal to get a draw from CitiMorgage. For final draw we had to jump through their hoops and have forms notarized at our expense. They received all forms on 5/11. No check arrived. I called on 5/26 and was told that they sold my account and the new mortgage company would take over 6/7. This still gave them time to send me my own money. But, CitiMortgage said they wouldn't and I would have to take it up with the new mortgage company.

CitiMortgage holds your own insurance money hostage. This is insurance you pay for, but CitiMortgage does not care. They hold your money hostage and make earnings off of it. Then they make you jump through hoops and waste your own money notarizing their forms. All delay tactics so they can hold your money hostage for longer so they can earn more money off of it. Then they sell it to another company and use that as another delay for you not getting your own money while they hang onto to it for a little longer so they can squeeze out more earnings from it.

Needless to say, I still do not have my money. The new mortgage company does not have my money or all of my account information or any of my claim documentation from CitiMortgage. So the new mortgage company cannot get me my money because CitiMortgage still has it. So, CitiMortgage has all the notarized forms they required I provide and they have my insurance money, yet they refuse to send it to me. CitiMortgage is as crooked as they come.

CitiMortgage took over my original mortgage. Not only did CitiMortgage "fail" to have me sign new papers with them, they secretly changed my initial mortgage plan agreement. For example with my original mortgage company I could pay my mortgage payment online and not be charged for online processing. Additionally I had up to midnight of the 15th of each month to pay my mortgage - nonlate penalties. CitiMortgage denied all of that.

Also when I told CitiMortgage that I am a disabled veteran and can no longer live in my home CitiMortgage said for me to lease my home to a renter. I said, "That's against my mortgage loan." They said, "So, you're not living in it." I then explained to them that I'm not stooping to their underhanded character by secretly renting which is going against my mortgage loan. Then I asked CitiMortgage for the HARP. They denied me. Then I found out that CitiMortgage filed a Foreclosure against my credit "without" me knowing anything period. Stay away from CitiMortgage because they're practicing ILLEGAL & UNETHICAL mortgage loan practices.

CitiMortgage never was willing to help nor work with disabled veterans. Their information to their mortgage customers never remained consistent and truthful. It's not until the customer is totally done that CitiMortgage tries to work with the customer. But by then it's too late because the customer has moved out of the mortgaged property. My house was upside down and CitiMortgage refused to work with me. I never ever will do any form of business with CitiMortgage ever again.

I had been an excellent customer for CitiMortgage. I never missed a payment. I decided that since they knew I was a great customer I would use them to refinance for a lower interest rate (thinking it would be an easy process). I called and was preapproved easily and was told the process would be easy and relatively fast. I began the process of gathering the paperwork needed. I gathered all that was required... or so I thought. Then they asked for more. And more! And months later more. They even asked for information that was impossible to obtain! (And they were well aware of the impossibility.)

I began to think I needed to start this process with a different company as Citi seemed to be making this as hard as they could. I looked on the internet at reviews and found a company that had the greatest satisfaction. To make a very long story short, I was able to easily get the loan approved. I signed the papers within half the time I had been working with Citi and now have my loan with the highly rated company. I had told Citi when I started with the "new" company, that I would go to another loan company if they didn't quit playing games with me.

Meanwhile Citi Mortgage was still insisting I give them information that was impossible to get so they could approve my loan... You need to know that I have a net worth of way more than what is needed for a loan of the amount I was requesting. I could have just paid off the original loan but didn't choose to because it is business property.

I kept trying to work with Citi as I completed the loan process with a "new" loan company because I really wanted to know if they would ever refinance me. I didn't hear anything positive from them. They just kept asking for more information. The very day that Citi Mortgage was paid off by my new company I got emails asking for more information. I wrote them a long email explaining that I had obtained a refinance in half the time and with half the paperwork needed from me. About a week later they emailed me that I had been approved for the refi. REALLY!! My experience with CitiMortgage was horrible, very stressful, and I would NEVER use them or recommend them to anyone. They treat a good customer as if they are not worth the time.

Several days later they said they had not received my payment or Quicken's (but showed a zero balance). Quicken finally found that Citi had received their payoff but not mine. After several calls, they found my payoff, but would not be able to refund the payoff until the 20th (approximately 30 days later). It's now the 24th, and I'm still waiting for the refund. Furthermore, after I received my loan modification, I realized that my principal was increased over $100,000.???

I am presently trying to obtain my 1098 form for tax purposes; the tax deadline is tomorrow. I called last week to request it be sent via email. I was finally transferred one last time, but the department is now closed.

Customer service is not helpful; it seems they read from scripts and prefer to transfer, stating each time that they cannot provide information, but the next department to which I will be transferred can. And then I must hold and be transferred ad nauseam. Oh, by the way, I tried setting up an account online. When I got to the last set up account page, it stated I could not access my mortgage online. My loan was sold to Fay Servicing from CitiMortgage for 1 year and CitiMortgage bought it back??? Since CitiMortgage bought it back I have had nothing but problems. I got a foreclosure notice certified mail for 3 months of payments and I have paid 2 months. I have been contacting them to straighten it out and I am getting very frustrated. I received a notice that my house insurance was lapsing and that my taxes weren't paid. I called about my insurance and they explained oops it was a mistake and probably Fay Servicing should have paid it. I don't think so. It was due in January and that is when Citi took it back which means it is Citi's mistake. Then I received a notice in the mail that my taxes weren't paid either. Since it was a Saturday when I received the notice I tried to call which the billing statement says they are open on Saturdays but apparently that is so. So I tried the chat room, they insisted that they aren't supposed to pay my taxes.

Now I'm really upset. Why then are they taking X amount of dollars out for just my insurance??? What do they plan on doing with the excess amount??? I told the chat room to forget it and I was going to talk to someone via a phone call. Mind you I was very ticked off at this point. I finally got a human on the phone and they were so sorry for the mix up. But meanwhile I am charged 37 for a penalty for my taxes. Of course that is coming out of my escrow, shouldn't that be their expense??

When I received notice that I owed 3 months that was the last straw. I went to my financial institution and they verified that yes the payments were paid to Citi. And that they tried to collect 2 more times causing 2 more overdraft charges to my account. These were unauthorized attempts. Isn't that illegal? I can't seem to find an attorney to touch this. Apparently everyone is scared of such a large corporation. They told me at the last phone call to get back to them in 2 weeks. They are going to investigate. I have a feeling it's not going to be in my favor. But I do have my credit union to back my payments and their attempts unauthorized. I think this is going to be a long battle. I wouldn't recommend any Citi group to anyone. My life is being consumed with trying to prove I'm right.

Getting into details about CITI Mortgage and their loan assistance refinance, hardship program. About 7 months ago I lost my job, we used my savings to try and stay afloat but unfortunately could not. We contacted CITI Mortgage right away before we were close to being in the rears and attempted to make arrangement. But they told me unless I was actually behind they could not help me, in addition they said I didn't make enough money to defer the loan payment. Go figure. I am attempting to do right and they won't help.

So once we were behind, we contacted them again and spoke with an agent and starting making arrangements. This took us about 6 weeks to get all the paperwork filed. Then we all of a sudden we got a new agent. Total loss on this second agent, we gave her direct phone number to contact but she refused to call them instead she called one of my cell phones which is not on during the day, it's in a secure area. When we did get a hold of her she had us redo all the paperwork again, and in the meantime falling behind on second mortgage. This repeated twice with this agent, with no calls from her or incorrect calls.

5 months later it was escalated because nothing was done on the account except to the primary mortgage. We spoke to another agent in the escalation department and within a week we made arrangement, she told us we could make double payments on the primary account, catch it up and then she could restructure the second.

4 weeks later we made our double payments got the primary taken care of and contacted the 3rd agent. She no longer has the account and it has been escalated again to the recovery department. Now we found out from a third agent she had no authority to make the offer and is no longer in the department and my second mortgage was sent to CITI Recovery going into Charge off. Contacted that department attempted to make arrangements again and was told that they would send me paperwork in two days, I can submit my pay statements, offer letter and we can make arrangements.

4 days later I contacted them because I have no mail from them on what needs to be filled out and now I find out the sent it to a third party. Now I am in process of submitting a formal request to CITI, I may get a lawyer, to request written history of all transactions, email, phone call with CITI. Here is what they said, "They will research your request and send you a response back. Please continue to work with the recovery department." CITI Bank is the most deceiving, lying, misrepresentation of a mortgage company I have ever seen. Their staff is incompetent, unworthy of being called homeowner agent and should be looked into for illegal practices.

I have the pictures to prove it. Parts of the house was built in the 1920's and added on to several times! They didn't even talk to me, they just gave the money, $132,000, I made interest payments on time for 10 years, to the total of over $45,000, plus they charge $50 a month just for having given me a loan!

My business failed after 7 years and had to file bankruptcy, chapter 13 and had to pay for 5 years of lawyer fees in which after the bankruptcy, they tripled my payment and told me I was behind in my payments. They said they would pay the property taxes and flood insurance and just add it to the end of my loan, never happened. I called about a loan modification, sent them all the documents and was told they did not receive them or they were incomplete, so I re-sent them.

This has been going on for over a year and are now threatening to foreclose or due a short sale. Now I have moved to the executive level and are asking for the information again! I wrote that my payments now should be applied to the principal only, I mean they already took $45,000! CITI has had so many lawsuits against them, yet they are still allowed to conduct business and take everyone's money, "Pay or we take it away." I am my wits end, these people professional criminals and are getting away with it!

I say let's band together and raise awareness to this incompetent, fraudulent, thieving, corrupt, ruthless corporation. I think we should file a Class Action suit! Anybody in? I'm also going to write to the news stations, maybe even The President! I've already wrote to my Attorney General, as you all should do for a start, they got the ball rolling for me. I made payments on a regular monthly until I had to get a car for work. I refinanced my mobile home and was given a refinance loan for approximately for 7000 _ dollars. I do not know how my balance went to $103,000.00 dollars. My payments were over $849.00 dollars a month. I made the payments with a 2 week salary, there was a occasion of several times I had to make payments on other bills, I would talk to CitiMortgage and they would tell me it would be deferred. I had no idea what deferral meant. I lost my job and was not able to find another person to hire me. The unemployment ran out and all money I had was the Social Security check and a $329.28 pension from my employer of 21 years of hard work.

I applied for Modification of my Mortgage. I sent any and every piece of paperwork, I did 3 different Trial Payments, Upon completing the trial payments, I began making payments on the modification. I had taxes and insurance in escrow. I went to the county tax office and due to age it was lowered. I am going into my 3% interest rate. All statements and information I received made as if I was an important clientele. Well it all broke loose on the 30th day of January, 2017. My payment had been withdrawn as always through electronic at Bank. For 01/01/2017 for $ 516.09, I did not understand if my interest rate went up why did the normal payment of $539.24 dollars. Not go up? Upon receiving a letter it would go up to $567.26 dollars per month. I thought the mortgage would be PAID FREE AND CLEAR IN 2018.

I have paid in excess of money to pay for a brick and mortar home. I got the modification and I thought I would be free to ownership in 2018. The trailer is old and mainly made from chip board. The front footage was a garden. For food. It has since grown up. The back is a hill gully. The land is a gift to her illiterate son whom cannot read nor write. I have nothing, just this worn out mobile home.

Upon receiving letters my mortgage had been sold, I do not know what is left to do. I have called CITIMORTGAGE INC. ALL I HEAR FROM THEM IS LIES. I have asked for payment to them until modification went through. I know I paid for $829.49 dollars monthly. I know I am not smart, I was always poor, but wanted better. CitiMortgage why? I am losing everything. Y'all have made a lot of money. The calls I have made and begged are for you and I can in mind feel you laugh. I wipe my tears for the almost 27 years I have paid on this home. Lord Jesus please help to me.

I applied at CitiMortgage for a refi on my house! It was the worst experience dealing with them! I did everything they wanted me to do when they requested documents. They never returned my phone calls, they waited to the last minute asking for documents which I sent plenty of times to them because they either lost them or they never received them! I have proof that they were received through all my fax receipts! I overnight the documents they requested, emails and even uploaded them on their website!! They wanted me to resend the documents so many times that I lost count! They would tell me they would call me back, they never did. I left many messages, they never returned my phone calls and when they did they were unprofessional very unprofessional!!

I would not recommend anyone going through CitiMortgage to refinance or to apply for a loan. It was a horrible experience!! I should've checked the reviews ahead of time. They are the worse!! They wasted my time and my money and on top of that they wanted more money because it was their fault that they didn't meet the deadline. Then to tell me that I was denied because I didn't have a bank account with Citibank to make my monthly mortgage payments!! I told him what does that have to do with anything. I pay cash and have all my receipts for every single payment. It wasn't good enough for them!! Now I know why I have Bank Of America!!

Took a while to recover both but I regained everything. 7 mos. later found out I had lung cancer. Underwent surgery but recovery was a long process. Long story made shorter I used what money I had saved and kept my mortgage up to date till almost 2 yrs later. Not working I fell behind. I went to a HUD counselor who sent in a remodification package to CITI. Advised that it would take a while to do because there were so many applying. Kept checking back for a status and kept getting the same response.

Well this kinda worked for me since I was not working. As soon as I got back to work I contacted them. It was like I was lost in the pipeline or some hole. Had a great home support specialist who immediately sent me out a package to fill out... I did... then the nightmare started. Package after package, update after update months went into years. Then in 2015 they foreclosed after I said that they were a predatory servicer. I called Freddie Mac. Sent a package directly to them. Mind you I was pre qualified every time before another package was sent. 7 in all not counting continual updates. They told the woman at Freddie Mac if I got them 3 additional updates they would stay the sale. I went out that hour and got what they wanted.

Friday before the sale I started thinking this was going to go badly... Contacted an attorney and asked if I could fill out bankruptcy papers and if they did not do what they said could I file them on the day of the sale. He said yes. 1 hour before my house was sold I filed the bankruptcy papers. 2 days later they called my attorney and asked if they could speak to me because they had a complete refi package at the time of the sale... Talk about illegal... I have lived in this home for 47 yrs. Then they sold it to Selene Finance. Again a package was sent out. This time the refi was denied for income to debt ratio. I have no debt but they have added so many fees and charges that a home that I owed 100,000.00 on they want 167.000.00 for. Talk about a racket.

Selene bought the property for what was owed originally. Foreclosure and another bankruptcy to stop another sale. Where will this end up... Who knows? What I do know is I am not leaving my home quietly and I am not finished with Citi. Just do not know where to get any satisfaction. It is like a tag team... one gets tired and sells it to a even bigger dirt bag who in turn sells it to bottom feeders who wants to make a killing on flipped property. If anyone has anything going on against Citi or Selene Finance you can contact me at **. Maybe we should start a petition to Donald Trump on line. Don't get political about it... but we have to do something at least I do. The stress is killing me. I even told them I would commit suicide and have my ashes sprinkled in my back yard before I would give them this house... Not really but it sounded good at the time.

CitiMortgage think they are ABOVE any and all government agencies that protect a consumers rights. I sent CitiMortgage a Qualified Written Request (QWR). It is your right to have the mortgage lender give you the required documentation. There are plenty of sites online that will give samples on how to write a QWR. I discovered a major flaw(s) in my "alleged" mortgage because of requesting my QWR and comparing the documents CitiMortgage sent me. Fraud the promissory note I did not sign. The name isn't spelled correctly... to say the least. Fraudulent documents are file in the County Clerk's Office.

Lies that begot other lies because departments within CitiMortgage do not communicate with each other so when you call to address the issue(s) you literally get the runaround. So do not waste your time, energy nor effort. Just send them correspondence with return receipt from the USPS about the issue. Wait for CitiMortgage to respond 7-10 business days (if they respond). Write a complaint to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and even the State Attorney General Office. Like I said, the departments do not communicate with one another so you will see various replies and numerous inconsistencies begin to emerge. CitiMortgage even ignored the CFPB but found out sooner or later you WILL have to answer.

Okay, so if anyone does start a class action please let me know!! My husband and I would like to start ligation on them as soon as we can. We have had a house on a short sale in NM due the crash in the housing market out there. Well, the first buyer hung on for two months, but Citibank could not somehow come up with the Lien Release that they should have acquired when they took the loan over. Then our second buyer waited for ONE YEAR and still, Citi never got the required lien release stating they were having trouble locating the document and got their legal dept involved.

After the second buyer dropped the sale, which I could not blame them, the third buyer signed on for 45 days only. I called the title company that should have had the lien release, I secured it within 5 minutes sent the copy to CitiMortgage AND their attorneys and STILL the sale did not go through and we lost our third buyer. No one wants to purchase the home now since it takes so long to get this to go through, and CitiMortgage is now requesting us to resubmit paperwork AGAIN!!! I am so tired of this and now the house will most likely go into foreclosure. So, again, if anyone is going to do a Civil Action suit against them please let me know, we have all our documentation and emails to show their lack of anything!!

And then the nightmare began. We were asked for and provided right away tons of documents, some of which no mortgage company ever requested before. They requested the same information over and over again because they couldn't find it or became outdated. We started with one personal processor, she went on maternity leave, somebody else took over. He went on vacation in the middle of Dec 2016, haven't heard from him since. A third person took over, filling in for him.

Every 2 weeks someone looks in our file and requests a document, we provide it right away and don't hear from them for a while. I am wondering how long this will go on? It's been 5 months and I don't see the end of it. We have owned a few properties, refinanced them a few times. I have never heard of or known of anyone refinancing for 5 months. We haven't closed yet and I am not sure if we ever will. It's a huge waste of time, energy and money. It's a big scam. I don't know how they are still in business.

It is hard to put into words how terrible this experience has been. I have never had worse customer service anywhere (and I am usually pretty easy to please). Long story short buyers are in the process of assuming mine and my husband's loan. The first thing is that they lied when I contacted them about it. They told me it was an easy process and the only money that they took was $500 and that covered everything. They also told our buyer that. It is not the truth but when you find out about other fees you are too far in the process to stop. Also, they will not talk to you until you file some kind of complaint and bug them to death.

When you finally have a contact person, you can reach them by email and you usually get a response that will just shut you up for a few more weeks until you call or email again. Before we finally had a contact person you would get a different operator every time you called and they would tell you something different and would not let you speak to anyone else. They also lied about receiving documents and had trouble finding things we sent because they were in some kind room where all the mail is. This all has been going since the beginning of June. At one point this week we thought we were close to the end, then they want to re-do something they have already done. I am sure that comes with a fee. This is never-ending and we are tired! This is just the watered down version of the nightmare. What really bothers me is that I did not choose Citi. They bought out our loan from another lender.

Divorced 2007. I got the house my ex got the payments. Mortgage loan in his name only. Property in my name only. Ex quit making payments in September of 2013. I found out just before Thanksgiving 2013. I caught the payments up. Been making ever since. Fell behind Oct 2015 after a job change. Took out a loan on my Yukon December 1, 2015 to catch payments up on house. Citi Mortgage rep Margaret ** said Citi couldn't help me if I could make my house payment. I told her how I got the money. She stated she would delete the very large payment I had just made and send me the paperwork to file for remodification. Now remember my name is not on the mortgage. So I received the email from Ms ** with all the documents I needed to fill out plus the documents that I needed to send in.

Sent it all in and a little over 2 months later, now February 2016, and two representative changes later, Citi Mortgage declined my loan remodification because "my name is not on the loan." Citi stated they didn't know my name wasn't on the loan, they didn't know my ex and I were divorced. Wrong! They were looking at the loan information for my home. They also had an Authorization on file from my ex so they could discuss the loan with me. And, they have a copy of the divorce decree - they asked for it in the first email Ms ** sent along with the Quit Claim Deed conveying my ex's interest in the home to me.

I asked to speak to a department manager - not a peon. So Ashley came on the line. I asked why Make ** would delete the payment that caught my account up to offer me a loan remodification she knew I wouldn't qualify for because my name wasn't on the loan? Ashley stated they - Citi r Drrps are not allowed to dissuading potential customers even if they know they don't qualify.

Instead of being $821 per month before the remodification started in December 2015 my payments went to just over $1000 per month for 6 months to catch the payments up. I couldn't make them either so long about May or June of 2016, Citi assigned Melanie ** as my account rep. Ms ** offers a loan remodification. I'm like "how's this going to end any differently than the last one?" Ms ** says "I'm at the executive level and we can do more at this level than at Ms **'s level. " Needless to say, it didn't end any differently with the exception of a couple of twists.

First, my ex had to sign all of the paperwork too. Melanie stated the remodification would have been approved the first time if this had been done - no one mentioned that to me. Remodification declined. Same reason as first time PLUS additional reasons: my ex doesn't live in the house was one reason and Citi stated they didn't feel I could catch the payments up in 6 months was another. If you are accepted for a remodification do you catch the payments up in 6 months? I didn't think this was how it worked. Difference in my income? I went from $1100 week salary to $1700 biweekly on workmans comp. Payment is $815.66 per month for mortgage.

Citi has been absolutely no help and has lied to me repeatedly. They sent an inspector out. I called FHA trying to get some help. 800 number rep took my info and stated someone would call me. She did. She stated Citi is sending the inspector out to verify whether or not my ex lives at the residence - and that was exactly the question he asked. She also stated that once Citi was certain my ex does not live here that Citi would take my house away from me. She suggested I started stock piling money and quit making the house payments. I'm serious as a heart attack and swear that is what she told me. Citi has known for 2 years that my ex does not live here. I give. I don't know what to do. If I make the payments due on the mortgage and Citi takes my house because my ex doesn't live here I'm hating it. I don't know what to do. But I do know Citi has lied to me and jerked me around for almost a year now. Help!

I wanted to assume the mortgage at $70,000 and have them forgive the rest - no go from attorney in Cincy (not CLand). The tax value was inflated and CITI found out when appraisal was done for sheriff's sale. I got several calls asking about an estate. Each time answer the same - NONE. I even got a letter from the insurance dept after the sheriff sale stating estate was out of compliance.

They have since sold property for $70k over 4 yrs later. They stole my forbearance money since I was told the department never should have acted over a signed document from my husband - should have become void when he died. I was even told by an employee I could get my forbearance money back if a solution could not be made. I have contacted them Nov 2015, 04-2016 and now send a 3rd request. I just want my money back they stole with interest or make me an offer. It is not fair how CITI is allowed to continue to treat people. Do whatever you cannot to use this lender.

The exterior had a couple dings in the stucco as well. Citi started out nice returning $20,000 of the claim to me to get the ball rolling. The roof was completed and the contractor didn't want to wait for Citi to send them the remainder of their bill. I paid them out of pocket the $12500.

So now I need Citi to release the money they hold from my insurance claim to me. I had to submit contracts, w9 forms, Lien wavers and finally a letter from the contractor that they were paid in full. Now Citi needs to inspect. An inspector comes by and takes pictures of my house. He wants to see the the interior repairs. I didn't do those yet, just finished the leaky roof.

Citi refused to release any funds. They claim that plaster work is structural and all structural work must be completed. Really? Plaster? No wonder the contractor didn't want to wait to get a check from Citi. I called and complained to a specialist who assured me she could see the pictures of my new roof and would go see a supervisor and get an exception to their hold on my money. A week later I call and find I was denied. Was told sorry, we will send another inspector to see if you painted your wall. They act like I'm trying to rip them off. The inspector takes at least a week to show up, then a week to file his report. Then Citi will ignore you until you call looking for your money and then stall you again. In my opinion it is a predatory lending practice to apply a lender assessed insurance with no actual valuation of the property. The property is basically a shack and they overvalued it and the insurance amount jacked up the monthly payment to unaffordable. This started out as a FEMA loan and got sold to them. Then, when I decide to help my Vietnam veteran brother out by paying off the mortgage and getting this company out of our lives for good so they stop trying to foreclose on him, they are making me pay the entire year of insurance in full even though it goes all the way to December and this is June. They say they will mail me the balance. Yeah, right.

Even if so, I am having to take a loan out on my 401k so they don't foreclose on my brother's place for a $25.00 balance on the mortgage loan that they will not let me pay off until I pay the $1000 insurance policy. That is a projected escrow deficit that I won't owe in the future if they would let me pay off the 25 bucks. They have much deeper pockets than me and should tell me what I owe today and let me pay it and not make me pay a balance we will not owe and then send me a check later after I have experienced a hardship. And then refusing to let me pay it off makes the foreclosure still a possibility for the 25 bucks owed. Predatory. And when I say so they hang up on me. I will never use any Citi products and will tell everyone I know to watch out because their unprofessional staff and unfair practices are not worth the risk.

My concern of this review is how CitiMortgage handled my case. I started the modification seven years ago, with hiring a lawyer. I strongly believe my lawyer did all in his power to obtain the modification. Unfortunately, this bank kept asking year after year for the same papers without giving a response. I wanted to start paying but the policy of the bank is to not take any money until the end of the process of the modification. Of course, after all these years that passed the loan doubled its amount from the beginning. CitiMortgage sent me a letter stating couple reason why they were declining the modification. My lawyer sent appeals with no response in return and finally, when they answered my lawyer, they stated they closed the modification because of the length of time and asking me to pay 300,000.00 so that they would consider the modification. The bank kept changing representatives all the time handling my case.

This experience has been very stressful not only financially by the way I was paying my lawyer but emotionally as well. It is very sad and disappointing when the bank doesn't want to help you to save your house and waste your time hoping to conclude after all I did by giving what they asked, to then receive the news that they aren't able to give the modification. Now, they want to short sale the house which leads me having to pay the difference. My question is, "Why then can sue me but I can't sue them? I was not able to file bankruptcy due to fact that I have another properties.

After doing some research, I came across other reviews of individuals who have and had a poor experience with CitiMortgage. On the Top Class Action website, "CitiMortgage Loan Modification Class Action" by Matt ** in which I quote "Consumers that were rejected from permanent modification plans through no fault of their own should find themselves in no worse position than they entered it.

He stated things that I can relate to in my situation. He explains that "The CitiMortgage Class Action lawsuit is brought on behalf of all person in the United States whose loans have been serviced by CitiMortgage and who, since April 13, 2009 through the resolution of litigation, have complied with their obligation under a trial loan modification program and have not received a permanent modification pursuant to the loan modification agreement and have been harmed because of it." Citi kept charging me what they call delinquency expenses for thousands of dollars, I called them to find out what these charges are for and was told they had paid property taxes and put a homeowners insurance on my home and did this every year until I paid off my mortgage... so stupid me pays all delinquency expenses... soon finding out that my property taxes have not been paid in years and haven't had any insurance on home since 2010. I paid off my mortgage in 2015. They charged me for these and never paid them.

They are outright stealing from people. What did they take all that money for? Who is responsible for stealing thousands of dollars from me in this company... finding an attorney. I pray they get what's coming to them... SAD when you can't trust a huge mortgage company like this. I hope the scumbags are finally caught and shut down. THEY ARE NOTHING BUT THIEVES.

I am a CitiMortgage customer who spent months trying to have our mortgage modified. The worst mistake of my life! I submitted every document they requested, sometimes having to do so 2 or 3 times. I did everything they required. I made the payments on time throughout the process. I tried to pay extra, but Citi would just put that in an unapplied funds account. I made a payment on the phone with one of their customer service reps. She told me I could use the funds in the unapplied account and I send in the difference to complete my payment.

Ten days later I get a late payment notice in the mail. I called and spoke to a different rep and she assured me that my payment had been made completely and to disregard the letter. A week later I get a phone call from Citi and she says that I still need to complete my payment. She tells me that I cannot use the money in unapplied funds to make my payments. After three days of arguing with 5 different people what I got was "we made a mistake, too bad, you need to send more money."

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. Their customer service reps are poorly trained and unknowledgeable in their own policies. The managers could not care less about owning up to mistakes made by their staff and made absolutely no attempt to resolve the situation and provide anything resembling customer service. I have wasted seven months and our credit rating is worse because of listening to their people. Now I can't refinance with another lender fast enough to get Citi out of our life. Take it from someone who has dealt with them. Do not trust them, do not deal with them and get with another lender as quickly as you can.

Citimortgage sold my mortgage, that's fine, serviced by Select Portfolio to another company. My credit rating is excellent. 12 years on my mortgage with -0- issues. They sent a real estate agent from Long and Foster at 6:00 p.m. to value my house. Because they had sold my loan (no Problem).

It was dark, after sunset. He was from Nigeria, I asked. A Real estate agent, not appraiser. He took photos with a cell phone. He told me who he was, I told him who I was. He then asked me how much my house was worth??? The agent traveled over 60 miles to my house and had no idea about property values. I said, "Whatever. It has no relevance in loan to value. Do whatever." He was comparing my house to every house I had appraised. He had me compared me to a 1000 sf 2 br 1 bath house REO against my house 3300 sf 4 br 3 ba. It was a waste of time and money on the Bank's part. Shame on #Citimortgage and all other financial institutions who attempt to service loans in this way.

We decided to remodify our loan because we were struggling with a new baby. 4 kids total, recovery problems from c section and my loss of income. My husband works flat rate. He does not have a set salary or hourly rate. So our payments always fluctuate based on workflow. I started this process exactly 7 months ago. I have sent in every single document they had required about 20 or more times as well as updated bank information monthly. Letters upon letters and why an address was on my credit report which by the way I am not liable or even on the mortgage but they needed my report. Why? I don't know. It was obviously a place of residence for me at one point. Anyway, it has now been 7 months.

At this point I started requesting everything in writing and email, which I have not received a communication since. I have sent multiple emails with no return email. I have called multiple times and even put in twice for the manager Michael to call me. I have received no calls. I did however receive a letter demanding payment by the 25th of the same month for a total of two months plus late fees and appraisals and someone checking that I reside here still. 10$ for a postcard? About 2 months ago I was requested to send all information in again! With new letters and current bank statement. I thought to myself am I doing this all over again and emailed my account manager Margaret ** with no reply. I called to find out my case was in underwriting finally in the beginning of December and all communication has stopped. I call in to see where it is and no answer yet. It has been over 30 days and even a representative cannot give me a time frame.

Now I'm left with 11 days to come up with the payment which they have caused. They tell you to stay behind or you will not be eligible. As a matter of fact they have kicked us out of trying to do the modification before for paying up to date. The late fees and other fees are because they advise you not to pay current. You only pay a month at a time to stay behind. Now because of them taking so long I am facing losing my home destroying my credit and children's livelihood all because I have been behind consecutively 160 plus days.

This is their fault not mine! We are able to provide them with two months payment not 3 as you cannot have savings money or extra money in your account. What a bad decision. I hate this company and I was sold to this company. I did not start with them. We are backed by the VA. I do not even think we could do a short sale to get away from them or save our grace. This modification process has destroyed our lives. Do not rely on them to help you. Get a lawyer to do it. They know we don't have the money to hire a lawyer to sue them for this. All we can do is hope and pray for a solution. They are the criminals of America.

Received a letter this week for further assistance by Citibank. But it was just another letter for support. Still no options. All the proper documents have been provided for payment adjustments. Still no options provided by CitiMortgage.

    Original Review: Nov. 19, 2015

Both my husband and I have tried to work with our assigned representative for months. He is non-responsive to our needs to temporarily lower our mortgage payment. He has made "1" single attempt with a phone call. We have filled out numerous forms, which were sent through email in Spring 2015. CitiMortgage keeps making excuses and states we still have missing forms. They are intentfully delaying the assistance of lowering our monthly payment. I tried to reach out to Mr. Calvin **, who I will say is the worse Mortgage Rep., who refuses to even discuss the mortgage account.

The excuse today on 11/19 is "I don't conduct business through email." He doesn't conduct business over the phone either. He makes very little effort to assist our needs. Every time my husband and I try to call together, Calvin is NEVER available or in a meeting per the statement of another representative. I don't understand why it takes "defaulting" a loan in the period of 3 months to get assistance. By that time your credit is damaged. We are 1 payment behind, but this has happened twice.

I feel that CitiMortgage is NOT WILLING or trying to work with us at all with temp. needs. They DO NOT have the best interest in our credit. Both my husband and I are requesting a third party to intervene to clearly see what is being done to us at this time unethically. I told Calvin ** that I would have to ask for consumer affairs assistance if he is not willing to work with us. He actually finally responded stating "do not contact me and stop threatening me" on 11/19 around 11am. As God as my witness I never once sent a threatening message to this man.

He simply doesn't want to work and makes every excuse to not be available. It is very obvious this rep is not willing. Again, both my husband, I and phone calls "together" have tried to work with CitiMortgage. They are purposively delaying assistance. Again, this started in Spring 2015. And the last time I checked, a complaint and request for third party assistance, is not a violent threat. I can say I have never come across this type of rep. before. "Not available, do not email me, stop threatening me, I don't conduct business by email, I am in a meeting..." It is one excuse after another to just get simple assistance from him to ethically.

UPDATED ON 03/28/2016: CitiMortgage lied about the previous ConsumerAffairs complaint made on 11/19/2015. As of 3/28/2016 they have made not one single offer to lower our monthly payment. We are behind 1 payment. We also scheduled a payment on Friday, 3/25/2016, but according to our PNC Bank, the payment was never followed through or made by CitiMortgage. Every time I call, I am disrespected and discriminated against as a female homemaker. My name is on the home deed/title. I provide my account, husband's social security, and mine. The representatives will not provided me with a yes or no answer if they received the payment.

I was placed on hold today and hung up around 8:30 am after 10 minutes of wait time for the rep could look at notes... he said. Past payments made are 2/11 for 866.29 and 2/5 for 1,732.58. Payment also schedule for 3/25 (not followed through by CitiMortgage yet). On 3/14/2016 CitiMortgage wrote us a threatening letter. Threaten to foreclose our home, although we have been making payments. Our scheduled regular payment is for 866.29. At this state already, they want to foreclose, because of late payments. They said we can do a Deed-in-Lieu or a Short Sale. Again, we have been trying to get our payment lowered for the past year. Calvin ** is aware of this. He is a horrible representative and has disrespected me a great deal in the past as a woman.

We are requesting a different Mortgage Account Rep at this time. And I would also like to file a formal complaint against CitiMortgage for the great deal of disrespect I continue to get as a female homemaker. Again, please note as of 3/28/2016, CitiMortgage has not provided us with 1 single offer to lower our monthly payment. How is this legal what they are doing to us? We were advised to see an attorney. Question is, now can a family financially obtain an attorney in these circumstances and how can they foreclose on a home when payments are being made??? I want to file a complain also about unethical threats to consumers.

Well after getting a copy of the appraisal on July 28 we saw that it was much lower than the list price of the house. We had to go back to the seller and ask him to lower his price which he did but not enough. My complaint now is with Citi, why did it take so long for me to find this out? This is a company that you contracted to do a job and had I known the appraisal would come in so low I would not have paid for an inspection, hired movers, etc. Upon review of the appraisal I found errors on it. After explaining to the mindless-script-reading-drones that work there (in God know's where) one day my access suddenly reappeared.

I have been paying my bill on time via electronic automated payments, but was not receiving paper statements. Then once again, CitiMortgage decides to close out my online access stating they required a reaffirmation. Neither my attorney nor the bankruptcy court agreed with them. On several occasions, I explained this to the mindless-script-reading-drones that work there but to no avail.

The other day I had a brainstorm and asked them for a payoff letter and the recent statement. Low and behold they both come in the mail. Somehow, without any modification, notification, or communication; they had changed the amount due from $599.29 to $599.79 on a fixed rate mortgage. So according to them, they were owed about $60 in late fees. Because I am selling the house and do not want title issues; I paid them the $60 in eleven small amounts (which hopefully will overload their useless system. My next step was to send them a letter with copies to my attorney and the attorney general of Florida.

I spoke to one person, gave him all the info he asked for and was told that the "refinance department" would take over from there. I spoke to someone in the "refinance department" who told me he would be my contact from then on. I filled out mounds of paper, sent in mounds of documents, had an appraiser ($500) come to my condo, and then waited. After 2 weeks, I finally get a call saying they never received some of the documents sent. I explained that I faxed them to the number he had given me. He said "that's a different dept. and sometimes they don't communicate with us." Okay, so I resent the papers. Waited another week. I left several messages over the course of another 10 days without a response, even though I left messages on his work phone.

I finally get a call from his "assistant" who says that he has been out of the office and she will take care of things for him while he was out. She then says she needs proof of employment because they never received it even though it was sent. Okay, I had my manager fill out the papers and sent them to her fax. Waited another week when my "refinance dept" friend, who was out for 2 weeks, proceeds to tell me that he never received my employment verification and he wanted me to resend it. What??? Okay... I will ask my boss AGAIN to please fill it out and resend it. So, after another week, his "assistant" calls me (because he is out of the office again) and says that the loan will be finalized at the end of the week. Great!

End of the week comes, no communication, so I left a message. The weekend passes, I call again and leave a message, no communication. Another week, no communication. So, I left another message, but this time I told them I was canceling my application. A week goes by and my refinance guy calls me and leaves a message that he is still waiting for my employment verification! I call back, have to leave a message saying AGAIN that I did not want the loan. Well, 5 days later, he calls again telling me if I didn't send the employment verification, I would lose the loan!!! This has to be the WORST customer service I have ever experienced! DO NOT do business with Citibank.

I've owned my home for nearly 14 years. Refi in 2006 with Citi. Was great until i fell behind a little in 2009. I deployed later in year and made double payments for about 9 months. I expected to come home to no issues but instead to a notice of foreclosure. Immediately called and was told my payments weren't received but yet my bank said otherwise. About 2 weeks of back and forth to bank for papers etc ended up having 1700 in late fees and bs fees. Since then about every 3-5 months I have to repeat this same process.

It's 2015 and I'm very tired of being told I'm behind when I'm not and getting fees that aren't even owed. I can't refinance elsewhere because lenders see that I'm behind 5 YEARS in payments. I'm not sure if anyone else has this problem but if so just know they do it to others. If i get into a position to either sell or refinance I'm going to. I'm not a deadbeat or anything like that. I'm a father and husband who busts my hump to provide for mine and a company like this has a way to make someone like me feel like enough is never enough. I hope this read helps prevent someone from going through the same nonsense. Thank you for reading and God Bless.

If I could give them a negative times a thousand star rating I would. In 2012 I got four months behind on my mortgage but was able to catch up by August 2012. CitiMortgage rejected my last check sent which was written for two months payments, sent me a letter along with my returned check telling me that I had already been put into foreclosure, and to contact them for my options.

I immediately contacted them, spoke to a so called support specialist who told me my only option was to apply for a loan modification, to which I immediately responded with "I don't need a loan modification, I already received one two years ago in 2010, am already at the lowest rate/term given for a loan modification, I only need for you to accept my money and give me a repayment plan for the late fees I hadn't included for the months I had gotten behind." To which she replied, "We don't do repayment plans for late fees. You'll need to apply for another loan mod. That's your only option. We have new loan modification programs that you may qualify for, possibly at an even better rate/term than you already have."

I then said, "I do not need or want another loan mod, the payment is fine, I only need you to accept my money and make an arrangement for the (roughly) $1200.00 in late fees I owe you." Again, I was told my only option was to apply for another modification so being that I had no other choice, I did. I was cornered and strong armed, made to apply for a loan modification that I did not want or need. Here's where the nightmare begin.

They refused to accept any money from me, forced me to apply for another loan mod, strung me along (for over a year), passed my file from one person (so called support specialist) to the next, for a total of five (5) different so called support specialist's that were supposedly handling my loan modification application, to whom each time my file changed hands. I'd have to re-email, re-fax the same documents (i.e. paystubs, bank statements, etc) over and over again. I even went to two all day NACA (Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America---homeowner's advocates) seminars held in Ontario, CA, 30 miles away from my home in Fullerton, CA to try to get help because of the repeated frustration with CitiMortgage and them constantly claiming they did not receive my documents, then changing hands again, over and over.

NACA wasn't any help either. I did every single thing I was asked to and in the end, WHILE STILL IN LOAN MODIFICATION APPLICATION STATUS, my home of nearly 14 years was stolen from me, sold in a foreclosure auction and purchased by a real estate broker investor who immediately sneakily posted a notice on my door. I was home. They never rang the door bell. I tried calling the number on the notice. Could not get through. My mother lent me $4,000 to retain an attorney who supposedly specialized in unlawful foreclosures, who I was reluctant to retain because his office is in northern California, me in southern, but did so out of sheer desperation, under extreme emotional duress and in retrospect, I believe, having a nervous breakdown.

I was desperate and the attorney, **, out of Danville, CA, assured me that my family and I would be able to stay in our home, for free (aside from the monthly fees to him we'd have to pay) while he was filing and litigating the civil lawsuit against CitiMortgage that I SO had a strong case against. Again, he ASSured me that we'd be able to stay in our home, without paying them a dime---for free, while in litigation, so I signed the retainer and deposited a cashiers check in the amount of $4,000 to his company called DM Financial, that was the first red flag, but out of sheer desperation, I overlooked it and trusted him to keep his end of the deal.

A couple days later, I'm served with an unlawful detainer suit filed by the real estate investor who bought my house at the auction so I immediately called my attorney, who responded by coyly stating, "Uh, you paid a retainer for the "civil" lawsuit, not an unlawful detainer. If you want me to represent you for the unlawful detainer, I'll need an additional $1,500." To which I replied, "You know I don't have another $1,500. I already gave you the $4,000 that I borrowed from my mother. You assured me that we'd be able to stay in the house while in litigation so wasn't it safe to assume that it would include the unlawful detainer (U.D) filed to get me out of my home???"

Long story short, he screwed me over too. I got half-** help from an acquaintance of a friend on the response to the U.D. filing which apparently had exhausted the extension time for the filing, had filled out the response 100% incorrect, who didn't think it would matter because by the time it would get reviewed, my brilliant attorney would have my civil lawsuit filed and the two lawsuits would be combined together, yadie yah yah yah. Forgive me, but I honestly start FEELING REALLY SICK WHENEVER I THINK ABOUT ALL OF THIS.

The powers that we have NO IDEA what a profound and life altering effect these heinous acts have on those of us affected by these **!!! Long story short, I lost the unlawful detainer. The judge (who looked like he was permanently smelling dog poo, by the way), did not want to hear a word I had to say because the response to the U.D. was completely fabricated and filed just to get it filed by their deadline--reminder: they were assuming the civil suit would be filed & it wouldn't matter anyway. The judge glared at me as he reminded me that I signed under perjury and penalty, didn't care that I was under extreme emotional duress, and ordered my family and I out within 5 days.

FIVE days to get four bedrooms, 3 baths, a garage full, almost 14 years of accumulated furniture and personal belongings, not to mention, get trucks rented, get help for weekday moving, finding a storage unit, finding homes for our pets, finding a place to stay for my three kids, my recently unemployed husband and me to stay, with no plan, no back up plan, completely devastated, because that's not the way it was supposed to go. After all, my attorney who I naively trusted AND PAID $4,000 to had ASSured me that we would not have to pay, much less have to move while in litigation for the civil lawsuit, EVEN IF it took five years or longer to litigate!!!

Uugggghhh, the pain and suffering is real. I seriously have PTSD from this experience. My husband of a year and I ultimately separated, are going through a divorce, he had just lost his job eight days before we lost the house (which was in my name only because I had purchased it 12 years prior as a single woman) suffered two brain seizures, likely due to stress, alcohol and high blood pressure, my two youngest children (who are from a previous long term relationship) ended up going to live with their dad over 10 miles away, traumatized and thrown into new schools after living their entire lives in our home and my adult son who also didn't have anywhere to go, other than couch surfing with friends and at grandpa's ended up with acute anxiety and a panic disorder.

As far as I'm concerned, I hope every single person involved in these shady practices are personally repaid tenfold for their parts in these unjust cases, especially the bailed out bank fraudsters! It's obviously more beneficial to them to foreclose than to actually help those of us who actually had equity in their home but could not get a traditional refinance, were strong armed to apply for an unwanted and unnecessary SECOND loan modification, tearing a family apart and leaving us homeless.

We had our mortgage with Citi Mortgage for many years. When my husband and I lost our jobs unexpectedly, we contacted Citi and they suggested we apply for hardship assistance. We complied and Citi responded we did meet the requirements. They then suggested a program where you pay 1.00 a month during the unemployment period and the money from the actual payments due would accrue and roll over into our mortgage balance. Prior to the unemployment and during, we were working with Citi on a modification. We complied with everything they asked. During the months of ongoing paperwork, we received what appeared to be a suspicious letter from a company I had never heard of asking us to send payments to them. The company was BSI.

I called Citi and asked them if they new of anything regarding our account being sold or anything of that nature and they said NO. They told us to continue sending payments to them as well as any modification info they might ask for in a timely manner. We did so and eventually we were told we would have a final answer on February 15, 2015. About a week before the February 15 date, we received a letter from BSI requesting our mortgage payment and $21,937.43 for moneys accrued in unpaid mortgage payments. We tried to contact them and return the two calls we received from them but did not get a response. We were then informed our insurance would not be part of our mortgage and to pay it on our own. We complied and continued making payments. Moving forward, we received another letter demanding payment of the same accrued amount and if not paid by July 8th foreclosure could start.

We had been in direct contact with Citi and compliant for approximately a year and when the bait and switch occurred between them and BSI, I called Citi to inquire about the situation and they said they shouldn't even be talking to us, even though they were talking to us when our loan had apparently been sold but did not disclose that to us, when our loan had been taken over by BSI. Now, I was led to believe that we were moving along with a modification when in fact, Citi apparently sold our loan way before February but were still leading us on to believe all was moving along.

Now were dealing with BSI and as all of those who have sent complaints know, this company is underhanded and is not available to assist in any way. They are now asking for a lump sum of money that actually Citi mortgage stated would roll over into our loan amount. Both companies are at fault for leading us and many others into situations that leave us at a roadblock as to where to go or who to turn to. Yes, a class action lawsuit should happen and I would be happy to be a part of it.

I went thru a refi with Citi, and experienced all the same frustrations as others that have posted on this site. Let's start with the fact that I have stellar credit and I already had an existing mortgage with Citi. However they requested info & docs (numerous times) that they already had on file; plus when I did email them docs or uploaded docs to "my loan site with Citi" they would request the items multiple times -- saying that they never received them. It was SO very frustrating!! Especially when I could see the docs that they were requesting on the "my loan site." They 'fee' you to death on every little thing.

The biggest frustration was documents from my HOA to Citi. Both myself & the HOA provided them with docs NUMEROUS times. But they re-requested & lost them so many times, and in the end (after Citi had received the docs from me / my HOA -- Citi said they needed "certified docs from independent 3rd party" (total BS in my opinion). So I had to go thru 2 different online services, each of which charged me $75 to provide Citi with documentation that they already had on file. All this on top of the HORRIBLE customer service and extra fees; AND it took them 2 months longer to close than the original est. close date -- total of almost 4 months. It was the worst experience I've ever had! I would NOT recommend using CitiMortgage.

They assured me they could provide lower rate and better deal. Had my own independent appraisal done 2 weeks before I called and told them the value of my home.

They required their own appraisal which turned out to be the exact amount of previous appraisal costing me extra money for no reason. Required enormous amounts of ridiculous paperwork, asked questions about things they should know already including why they had reduced my home equity loc even though they reduced it due to the drop in property values in 2005 (not due to anything on my part. It was their decision entirely not something I requested, but I had to find the letter they sent me 10 years ago to prove that) then they called to verify my employment 5 times!!! Thought my boss would have a coronary when they called him the fifth time LOL.

Then after 6 months they told me my loan to value was too low and I would have to pay an additional $30,000. Remember they knew the value of my condo from the 2 appraisals all along, but took 6 months of run around before they dropped that bombshell on me. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else for your refi like I eventually did. Never wrote a review before, but this really pisses me off.

I was needing to refinance my home w/ CitiMortgage due to reduced wages and medical issues due to being hit by a drunk driver. I had a credit score of 798. CitiMortgage took over 7 months for this refinance, had instructed me to not make a payment given the home was being refinanced (yes, I have all documentation). The refinance resulted in my 30-year loan turning to a 40-year loan that equated to a $170.00 reduction; they refused to even give the current mortgage rate. I consulted w/ my accountant and he had said to be careful w/ Citi; if your home is worth more than the mortgage balance, they will swindle you to a short sale and lose everything. I then get a letter from Citi stating they would be selling my home in the "short sale" fashion.

When I tried to refinance w/ another lender, I was then informed that my credit was under 700 and that Citi had reported me not making payment numerous times. I quickly contacted my attorney; I contacted Citi and asked for their legal department phone number. They refused to provide stating that there is no legal department. After 2 weeks of proving the scam they had done, and only after I had threatened contacting the media (again, I had every bit of documentation), they agreed that their tactics were not "above board" and if I agree to pay the outstanding owed, they would contact the credit reporting bureaus and have the negative reports removed.

Citi did follow through in restoring my credit; I was never able to refinance my home and because they took so long and destroyed my credit I hadn't been able to refinance with anyone. Currently, I have an insurance claim for my home. CitiMortgage demanded that I send them the check. They deposit the entire amount and they will "divvy it out" as they see fit. I am in a rock and a hard place; I don't want my roof falling in, however Citi will rob you of every dime you have and then apologize without repercussions. They are the most horrible mortgage company in history - don't ever use them.

My original mortgage began Oct 1st 1997. It was with associates. It was eventually sold to cut mortgage. Which is when the problems began. My maturity date was supposed to be Nov 1st 2012.. in 2011 after I had already pm my house taxes Citi sent my tax collector a check, she sent Citi back their check and told them it was already pm by me. Then soon after that Citi sent my homeowners insurance company a check, that was also sent back to Citi because I had already pm it..

In the meantime Citi opened an escrow in my account which I never had, I always pm my own taxes and insurance. My mortgage payments started going into the escrow looking like my regular mortgage payments were not made.. after over a year's time and many hours of phone calls and faxes and certified letters to Citi and their many departments in many different states they finally told me they resolved the issue and closed the escrow that I never should have had. Then after that they put me in a modification that I never requested and started sending me foreclosure letters saying I defaulted on my modification which I never requested or had a modification. So my regular mortgage payments started going into the modification that I never had... I made my last mortgage payment Nov 1st 2012 which was my maturity date.. and I had sent them and fixed them bank statements and cancelled checks proving I was pm in full.

I have had two attorneys working on this for the past 5 years to no avail. In Jan 2015 I received a letter from Citi saying my mortgage had matured in March 2013. And that I had a balance of 6,900... and that it had to be pm in full. When my mortgage had really matured Nov 2012 and had been pm in full according to my original contract. Then if Feb 2015 11 I get a letter from a collection agency in Texas saying I owed Citi Bank 4,900... I called them and they said it was my mortgage comp. So then I called CitiMortgage and the recording said my mortgage was paid in full on Jan 30th 2015 then I spoke with a CitiMortgage rep and he said the mortgage was sold to American Coradius International, so I called them and they had sent it to the collection agency in Texas. And was told they are a 3rd party CitiBank agency.. then in March 2015 I get another letter threatening foreclosure from CitiMortgage saying I owe 4,900...

I recently filed a homeowners insurance claim for ice damage the insurance adjuster came out and I received a check for repairs that was made out to myself and CitiMortgage.. I mailed it certified overnight delivery but Citi will not endorse it saying they are no longer the act holder and the collection agency says they are not authorized to sign it until I send them the 4,900 Citi says I owe. And even then they would not be authorized to sign it.

I don't know what to do.. neither does the attorney that is trying to help me. I have written to my congressman about this and to the also attorney Gen that told me to contact had which also could offer no assistance. I have ms and this whole issue is literal making me very sick. I cannot sleep, eat, or perform my normal daily activities and the stress is bring out horrible ms symptoms. My credit is ruined because it looks on my credit report that I have 43 missed payments on my mortgage. I recently had to purchase a used vehicle at 25.9 percent interest for 5 years do to the credit report. If you have any suggestions please let me know asap... I cannot take much more of this.

Citi requested the transcripts over a month ago when it was first rejected. They then waited an entire month before requesting them again. Since then, they have been requested multiple times and every time they're requested you have to wait 3-4 days for a response. In the meantime, no one follows up on the request to the IRS. Once the response comes back rejected, they request it again and they don't inquire why they are being rejected.

Right now my customer is on the verge of losing the property that he's under contract with and the property that he loves. We've both called the branch where he applied for the loan. We've also called the loan officer's boss (no response). Every time you contact a branch, you get the call center. You're never able to speak to someone locally. I almost gave up on Citi Mortgage because I had been through two months of this process and getting impatient. I researched whether an online or in person mortgage company was better, and review after review showed online could give you better rates and it was more efficient. I was so happy I did because the new loan officer assigned to me was amazing! She cared and was responsive to my questions and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. When processing a refi with CitiMortgage I was assured by the loan consultant that we would not have to pay PMI since the previous loan did not have PMI. After we started the process, we were notified that might not be true. When the appraisal came in quite a bit lower than expected, we were told once the loan closed, we could get the home reappraised to eliminate the PMI. No conditions were discussed except having a Loan to Value of <80%.

When we were certain that even a low appraisal would mean the Loan to Value would meet the required <80%, we contacted CitiMortgage to begin the process. Then we received a letter stating we have not had the loan long enough, so we can't qualify for elimination of PMI through a reappraisal. By the time the loan is at least 2 years old (the minimum according to the letter), we will only have 8 months left before the LTV is <78% of the original appraisal, at which time the PMI will automatically drop off, making a reappraisal and the process of eliminating PMI not worth the expense.

This is our third loan on this house with CitiMortgage. Both of the refi's were to reduce the term of the loan, reduce the interest rate, and build equity faster. In total, we have had a loan on this same house, with CitiMortgage for over 6 years. We have never missed a payment or made a payment late. Our credit scores are in the high 700s to low 800s. The appraisal with the most recent loan was not accurate, but CitiMortgage rejected our appeal.

Here are the issues: I pay the appraiser, but he works for CitiMortgage. I believe this is a system that leads to corruption, and the appraisers are not independent but rather in the "pocket" of the lender. The mortgage company doesn't make full disclosures, only disclosing what is convenient for them at the time. We are long-term customers, with every indication that we will continue to pay our mortgage on time, yet we are penalized and the only answer is, "There's nothing we can do. It's the law." I don't believe this - I think there's someone who can override the rule, but we are not allowed access to them. By the time we reach May 2016, we will have wasted over $4000 paying PMI, which we should never have been required to pay.

I am about to contact CitiMortage for the fourth time to tell them that I have purchased my own homeowners insurance. It has been a year since I did this to eliminate pmi. They initially continued to charge me the same (as though I was still paying into escrow). I conferenced in my insurance agent (he had also sent them notifications that I have insurance through his company). Then, they sent me a letter saying that my escrow was "short," and they needed to raise my mortgage from the roughly $910.00 that our mortgage was (with escrow)... to over $1223.00/month (After I eliminated escrow by getting my own insurance).

I own several houses with different mortgage companies (at least the other ones only continued to charge me the same payments until I conferenced in my insurance agent). But, to have CitiMortgage say my escrow account was short and raise my rate... is really starting to piss me off. This is either gross negligence or outright thieving.

I received a letter from Citibank about a mortgage, stating it has been forgiven. Because of the fact that this mortgage was tied in with another mortgage on my home (at least I think it was), I have questions about my account. At this point, I have been on hold for 45 minutes, and the only thing keeping me from absolutely snapping at their obvious lack of courtesy and respect for my time, and care for customer service, is my entering this complaint. This is extremely frustrating that I must go through this to get questions answered. Seriously, I do not recommend this company for anything. I mean, what can I do?

When they finally answer, and I state the facts above, all that will happen is that I will get the company's apology line that they train their associates to say. How do you get to someone that can take ownership and accept accountability in this company? Is there a complaint line? How long is the hold time for that. I have been on hold for 54 minutes and no answer yet. Not looking good!

We were having financial problems and health issues. We needed a consolidation loan to help get things in order and catch up. When we took the loan we were not too sure about signing on to the company since we were called on Saturday and told we had to sign the contracts by Sunday because the rates were going to change after that and it would be higher, at this time we were offered a 6.0 % rate, we ended up with 10.65%. We were rushed into an office on Sunday and given papers to sign. We has a VA loan at the time, God forgive us, we should have kept it. But they made the loan sound so good and rewarding it was hard to resist.

We thought we were still backed by VA only to find out later we were not, but we were assured that if later in the loan we ran into problems there were options. Well we have tried everything in the book, we've gone through the modification process 3 times with 3 different people, if you call them they don't answer the phone. they set up phone conferences and don't keep them then if you send them everything they ask for and do everything they say, they assign you someone else, to start all over again,

We don't look for many more years of life but we don't want to die homeless. We are both well over 60 and in poor health at this time. There should be options that they can offer, but they don't care about your health just your money. We've gotten behind and it's almost impossible to catch up, no other loan company will have us. They should be ashamed.

Started in 2006 after divorce Citi gave ex wife 500,000 mortgage without a job. Lawyers helped her get loan to pay all her bills in her name and the 50,000 legal fees charged to mortgage, which I have to pay. Interest payments are 6.85% fixed. Since 2010 I have tried to help ex wife stay in her house (she is very ill with lupus) but with medical bills, getting older (I am 65) it has been a struggle to pay mortgage. House is under water at this time.

I have been through 12-15 loan specialist, sent over 800-1000 documents and only once I have been told her alimony income doesn't qualify her for a modification. So I try Harp, Government bull, and any other program that is out there, resend all documents again, any just keep trying. I told them "this is my hobby, sending you guys documents which I know you will never help me, and why should you, I am the fool paying you 6.85%." I put in over a million dollars in this house since 1995, and I am trying to get something out of it. My EX is basically terminally ill and not see moving her at this time, in fact if the housing market keeps increase 3% a year I can recoup some of my investment.

I usually catch up late payments in the summer since I own a seasonal business. Which I believe they realize, and are happy with their 6.85% with penalties and interest. I now will play their game and not catch up in summer, and put money aside to see when they want to take our house at a loss. With the money saved, I will buy a house cash down the street and send them pictures of my new home.

I have wasted 5 years trying to get some help. I have had enough. Even though I am in the middle of another loan modification with them. And get this, my ex wife's income doesn't qualify her with the 6.85% interest, but probably would with a 3-4% interest rate, but they use the greater. I say to them, "but if you use the lesser rate she would qualify," blah, blah, blah, they say.

My husband and I have been out of work almost a year after he went into kidney failure. I was a match to give him a kidney. We had a successful kidney "transfer" last July at UAB. We started a re-fi, or HARP, last year with CitiMortgage. We were told by our representative to NOT make any payments during this process. As you can guess, they ruined our credit. We got a re-fi but with worse interest rate over 40 years. They sent us paperwork to sign and notarized two sets to send back to them in their UPS envelope. We did this last November only to have them call over a month later to say the "documents weren't signed," then changed their story in another conversation to claim, "a page was missing". They sent another set of documents for us to do this all over again in February.

Once again, we got a call this week from a lady who stated the "documents were missing the last page" where we were to sign and notarize them. Here we are on our THIRD attempt to finalize this PREDATOR LOAN. I have video taped us signing them in the bank with the same notary who notarized the first two sets, filmed us counting the pages, placing them in their UPS envelope, sealing it in the UPS store and handing it to the UPS employee. To add to the horrible experience, they have a fella leave delinquent yellow envelopes on your front door even though we have made payments we now fear won't be going towards our principal, they call you threatening foreclosure and call you a "liar" when you try to tell them the name of the other employee handling your re-fi.

This has been the worse experience of my life during a time when we have been fighting to live. I gave a kidney to save my husband's life. Now they are trying to take our house. If they conveniently lose this third set of paperwork and claim we didn't sign them or they are missing, or whatever the next lie will be, I can prove they are purposely sabotaging our mortgage. I will post my video footage on YouTube to prove it!

Uh, after seeing all these complaints, I hate to revisit my family's need of our hardship request to CitiMortgage. We did re-fi back in 2011 - forget with Citi or older company - but believe we too, were bought from Citi after that. My husband lost his job after 16 yrs, never late or miss payments for most of the our payments. Years earlier we may of been late once or twice and gotten those foreclosure letters, and did not like that scared feeling. But to take out of your 401k to get caught up, years ago when we realized that could help, that's what you had to do...be late to show proof, in order to get the 401-k hardship. So, that was the time we may have been late because of the requirements of requesting a loan or hardship. But we really always pay on time & have good credit, so we re-fi 2011 and husband's job closed plant. Requested w/ Citi Hardship.

When I realized do it before it got too close of knowing I was gonna get behind! So I did it early enough; rep. was **, who seemed he was trying to be helpful, just we had to make sure to send, and be responsive when needed. DID all these things, sent two-three times as everyone else stated. Yes, after so many months that year around Xmas, by the time they got back to us, I was still staying up on payments and what a joke - never gave reasonable explanation other than standard paperwork with whatever they did say. Was not helpful, and with family stresses, I hate that scary feeling but did everything to advance our situation, and never heard back after so many requests on our end.

I just always wanted to let Citi know what they do to people who are in need of some security of knowing we could have had 1 or 2 months relief just to get caught up! Would have been appreciative and never try to be late or not pay, but husband's unemployment ran out after we thought we'd get for the two years, and they shorted him! We only got 1/2 pay that week instead of 2 weeks and no more after that. WELL, we stayed on top, and after that couple of months, made it to income tax time, which helped! And he always worked or helped his parents with their home, so they helped once or twice & gave us our Xmas gift of some money early. So that's how we paid & got through!!!

But thank God he now found good job with bro-in-law, so we're trying to keep ahead 'cause I do not mess w/ Citi or ever want to be going back and forth, doing our share & not being truly cared for or helped. Yes, SAD - they all forget whose money they play with & everyone has to help to get them out their greedy holes, when the big CEO's think they deserve their big bonus or salary! No one works that hard, they know they shouldn't be taking that and all the other workers are just like us, & hope they don't have the same situations and have to deal w/ big banks when it comes to their home!

Everyone needs a secure place to live and feel like some room to breathe, as long as they still pay, allow for people to get caught up...in due time. They DO need some laws changed to allow this for all people! I always said this and firmly believe if you pay your bills and they know you're trying, take what they send to their payment and apply it! But no,they send it back or put in escrow - this too is what's not right! They need to all be trained and follow through with one account at a time and see to the final assistance of a family's need, and hope that it's not them when they experience a change with their career or salary.

CitiMortgage refused to work with me on 2 separate occasions to modify my loan. Even though they unnecessarily put me through duplicate, rigorous and ridiculous paperwork they continually assigned minorities to my account who LOVED sticking it to this white woman. The loan soared out of control with late fees, the house itself was a nightmare which I was doing an admirable job repairing and maintaining on one salary. Prior to that, I caught Citi padding my monthly invoices. There were 2 nice ladies at their corporate offices who fixed everything. But suddenly when the economy crashed, they received TARP money and began their shenanigans all over again. All they are doing is stealing homes. I am in firm belief that they are in cahoots with realtors, lawyers and have set up fake companies to take real estate into their portfolio. This is Citi's way of 'getting even' with the people and government who sanctioned them for bad loans.

My loan never originated with them. It was one of those mortgages sold to them. Citi never loaned me the money to begin with. A look at my credit report, you could see that I had no problem paying the mortgage. However, when the economy crashed, my employer stopped giving raises. The house was still in dire need of major repairs which conveniently were overlooked during the closing by the so-called 'home inspector'. I will probably NEVER own a home again in the United States. I'm so burned on lawyers, realtors and mortgage companies. I think I would literally SPIT on anyone telling me this was their profession.

I did hire a lawyer at $250/hr and he was as much help as ** on a boar hog. He was rude and ugly to me. No lawyer in the metro area of Atlanta wanted my case because it wasn't big enough. Now, thanks to Citi my credit is messed up and it is causing my insurance, car loans, etc. to all be impacted. I'm writing as though I'm as common as muck but I actually am not. I'm just damned mad! This house, the seller, Citi, the realtors, the home inspector are all on my list and can kiss my can! After reading other reviews for CitiMortgage on Consumer Affairs it is clear to me that my spouse and I are not alone in the fraudulent abyss that is CitiMortgage. We, too, have fallen victim to a contrived "escrow account" because we allegedly missed a township tax deadline in 2010. We choose to pay our taxes personally and we have NEVER requested or created an escrow account, nor have we EVER received or signed a single document from CitiMortgage informing us of any such account. In 2013 I personally paid over $4000 to my township. In 2014 I personally paid over $4100 to the same facility. These monies are in addition to the real estate taxes--also paid personally.

CitiMortgage continues to send us "threat" letters demanding in excess of $3500 a month--our real mortgage payment is $1800!! Back to the tax issue: effective January 2015 this amount remains the same, totaling more than $13,000. So even if I owe approximately $4000 for 2010, what happened to the 8+ thousand dollars from the taxes I paid directly to the township?? It seems to have vanished into thin air! I am getting NO help from my township tax collectors either--they have "no time to help me." $8000 may be pennies for some, particularly for mortgage companies who, by the way, are part of the New World Order (one of the most recent CEO's of CitiMortgage was from Goldman Sachs) but it is a lot for us.

I fear this situation will go unresolved because I can see from these reviews that my efforts would be futile. My husband needed legal financial help a few years ago and since he didn't have boatloads of money for the attorney he was essentially disregarded. We refuse to pay CitiMortgage a penny more than $1800 a month. I'm certain we'll begin to see foreclosure notices and quite frankly I don't care. Clearly everyday citizens are forbidden to commit fraud but it seems to work well for corporations and all other such entities. It's a DISGRACE and we should collectively collaborate to end it.

According to my calculations, for each 10 days the amount goes up $670. How is this fair? Then, the bank, Santander, which approved a line of credit so that I can pay off this amount to citibank, said that they emailed them to say that our pay off amount is $10,000 dollars more than what it states as the final payment of the statement. During a chat session with a citi rep conducted via the live help option on their website, I demanded that they show me where in the papers I signed it gave them a right to double my payment on their own. I also expressly revoked my consent to deduct payments directly from my account. They never produced the documents, continue to deduct payments, and claim to have no record this chat ever took place even though I was able to give them the entire transcript.

I had an attorney send them a cease and desist letter ordering them to produce documents showing they have the right to make unilateral changes in payment amounts and demanding they stop withdrawing money from my account automatically. They never sent the documents, continue to withdraw money, and also claim to have no record they ever got this letter.

I had a phone call with a representative expressing my concerns about their lack of records, including their own chat transcripts and a letter which should have been immediately forwarded to their legal department. I again expressly revoked my consent for them to withdraw money from my account and requested they send the documents. The documents were never sent. They said the payment changes would go into effect in January. It is now February and they are STILL continuing to automatically withdraw money from my account, at nearly twice the contracted payment amount, despite continuing to fail to show they have the legal right to do so.

My dad had given her 1/2 interest to the house in 1979 so they said that if I had any siblings that they needed to sign a quitclaim deed. They were sent to both of my brothers and they sent them back to the closing attorney couple weeks later we closed on the house. In 2012 my husband work slowed down and fell behind on the mortgage so he contacted CitiMortgage to see what we could do. They told him to apply for a loan modification and not to pay the mortgage and they gave us the runaround telling us to send the same things over and over so we did and was turned down, we ask why and they said no reason was given but to try again. We tried again and were turned down again. They said try a third time. We turned down a third time, no reason given.

I got fed up and found out that our congressman was helping people with their mortgage problems. Well we found out the reason why we were turned down. Had it not been for the congressman they would not have told us the 1/2 interest that my dad gave my mother was the problem the title was not transferred from the previous owners which were my mother and father. The attorneys did not do their job and did not file the quitclaim deeds from my 2 brothers. We have been going round and round with Citimortgage for almost 3 years over this title issue. First they said we had to clear this up, then they said they would straighten it out. They couldn't do a loan modification because of it.

We were living in a house that really wasn't ours and we tried everything to hold onto it. We got advice to file bankruptcy after Citimortgage sent both my brothers another quitclaim deed. They were told they could be held liable if they did not sign it. For fear of being foreclosed on, we were so far behind we would not be able to catch up, so in 2013 to protect ourselves we filed for bankruptcy. The title situation has not been cleared up. One of the quitclaim deeds has been filed into our county's computer system but not the other one has not. 2 weeks ago we were received a foreclosure notice. My experience with Citi-Mortgage begin in Dec 2009 when I decided to refinance my house. I was notified that I could refinance my house at a lower interest rate because I am an active duty Soldier and that I would have three months free rent. I completed the paperwork and submitted in late Dec for processing. After about 30 days I did not hear anything and I had received orders to report to Guantanamo Bay Cuba in May so I was little concerned because the processing was taking longer than I expected, March came around and I still had not heard anything from anyone on the status so I called Citi Mortgage and spoke with a representative and expressed my concerns that I needed to set up automatic payment for my mortgage payment while in the states because mail and internet access in Cuba would probably run slow and internet access would than likely not be available.

She gave me a routing # and account# to set up automatic payment for 201004. The Army finance processed the information and I PCS'd thinking my mortgage would be paid with no worries. However, I arrived in Cuba and three months later I finally get my mail and it's a bill from CitiMortgage stating I was three months late. I immediately went to my finance office to see what the problem was because the money had been taken out of my account for three months. They found out that the money was going to some kind of reserve account. My finance officer had to submit paperwork to get my funds refunded to my account. My finance officer and I called CitiMortgage to let them know I was given the wrong information and ask for the correct information to set the auto pay up again.

My finance officer and I called told them the problem and was transferred about 5 times (Carolina, Rakesh, Jasaid, Roshell, Melody, Sandra, and Katherine) until finally a representative gave us another routing# and we submitted the auto-pay again. However, before I hung up I made a 1939.07 payment for the three months with my debit card on 6/23/2010.

On the 1st July, we checked to see if the auto pay went through and we found out that the second rep also gave us the wrong information again, so we called Citi-Mortgage again and was transferred 4 times again until another representative gave us another routing # that was specifically for military personnel. We submitted the information again for auto pay and it was successful for August. However a month later I see late charges on my bill for not being given the correct bank information in the beginning which was not my fault.

I called to dispute the charges and told many representatives and supervisors but no one wanted to take responsibility for their mistakes in giving out wrong information on two occasions. I have been disputing the late charges since 2010, I filed a BBB report while in Cuba, and they responded but I could not open because of the computers are secured. Finally, in September of 2013, I spoke with a Supervisor, told her the story and she said that she would have the late fees waived. I thought everything was in good standing, well this month I get my bill and see that there is another late fee of 13.50 on my bill. I know I am not late because the auto pay has been successfully processed since August 2010.

Since the late fee that was associated with initial payments was 26.33, that was suppose to be waived in September 2013, I thought ok it's a mistake. I called to speak with a representative on 24 Jan 2015 and ask why there is a 13.50 late fee on my account and she put me on hold for about 15 minutes and then she come back to tell me that it was from 2010. I ask why and she said I never paid it, which was supposed to be waived and now its a total different late than the original one. I ask to speak with a supervisor and she put me on hold and did not come back to the phone.

I am not sure what kind of organization ethics or morals that Citi Mortgage operate off of but this type of behavior seems to be a regular occurrence with them and something needs to be done. I will be doing another Better Business Bureau report and seeking legal counsel. I know 13.50 is not a lot but it's the principle of it, I have had the worst experience with this company and think if I pay this time they will continue to ruin customers' credit and not take accountability for their wrongdoings and remain unprofessional with the excessive transferring of customers and leaving customers on hold to frustrate them and make them hang up.

I was proactive in attempting to make all the necessary arrangement to pay my mortgage knowing that my ability to pay over the internet in Cuba would be limited because of limited access to the internet and security issues and slow mail services in Cuba. I was given the wrong information several times and they were very rude, unprofessional and not very helpful or knowledgeable about the organization.

I tried to explain my financial situation and that each time I contact these various institutions I have to pay for the paperwork, so I was told I needed to get it in if I wanted the modification to proceed. I have to pay for some of the same paperwork I had already submitted. Now just this week I was contacted and ask to send in something I had send in the first time.

First of all why didn't they know it wasn't the right paper the first time I was asked to send in a letter for my disability. I contacted Mrs ** to explain to her that they only give you one awards letter and that is when you first are approved. She was wanting a awards letter for this year. I tried to explain that there is only one awards letter and that is the first one you get when you are approved. She didn't not want to hear that. She was very rude and unprofessional. She didn't try to listen to what I was trying to say. She told me that if I could not send a updated letter that they could not continue with my modification.

Mrs ** in my option was rude just the way she talked Down to me. I was so frustrated that when she asked me did I want to refuse the loan I said yes. I have no problem with the company, it is some of their representative. I would like this matter addressed. I felt was getting the run around. I don't think they did not want to give me the modification. I have been with this company over twenty years and this is the first time I have had to go through this. I am modified. My problem is with one person and that is the one named above...

We had a mortgage with Citimortgage for 5 years and I will never go through them again. In five years. We had one payment that was past 30 days late because my husband's paycheck with the military was screwed up. I spent 4 hours on the phone explaining why and that they would get their payment that week and the very next day, they sent someone to my home, which they had already told us via phone they would not do, and then charged us extra for coming out. Three months ago, we refinanced and finally got away from them and have been fighting them ever since to get money back from our escrow. They are supposed to return it within 20 days and we are way past that. Guess we are going to have to break down and hire an attorney. Just more headaches caused by Citimortgage!

I put myself on Auto Pay and my representative took my first payment over the phone, and she said everything went through. After a month, I stated getting paperwork stating I was delinquent. Tried to call and my representative was always to busy to call me back. I tried to make payment with several debit cards and that would not go through. I contacted my bank, and they have no records of Citi Mortgage trying to take a payment. I put money and a letter in the mail. Now they are trying to foreclose. I still cannot make a debit payment with Citi Mortgage other than through the mail, because their system does not take our payment. No one will help us resolve this.

SUGGESTION TO ALL WHOM ARE INTERESTED IN LOAN MODIFICATION & HAVE CITIMORTGAGE, TRUST US, when we tell you to find a good (yet affordable lawyer, mine charged me $500), to help/aide you in completing the rigorous process of applying for a Loan Modification (HOME) in particular. Think of all the $$ you are going to save; It's worth it!

We suggests, HAMP - a really GREAT option if you qualify. If NOT there are PLENTY of GOOD GOVT. programs available. DO NOT!!! Let CITIMORTGAGE come up with those options for you bc you will ultimately not get what you were expecting/looking for in the first place; I know it MAY look/seem good on paper but that is ALL this company has going for them. I have a stack of papers yet no real customer service in the approx 2 yrs it took to complete my modification. In the end WE had the upper hand (as we should) and Citi just had to agree (in their best interest anyway since this company is renowned for it's poor customer relations/reviews). Needless to say, just after we were approved (thanks to my lawyer), CitiMortgage dropped us (our mortgage).

TIPS for a successful Loan Modification; Stay ORGANIZED & KEEP EVERYTHING!! DO NOT PANIC!!! BE CONFIDENT & STAY INFORMED - what you don't know can't help you. CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH - If you are thorough, this WILL all work itself out! - EVEN when Citi begins (& it may be in diff. ways) to harass/threaten you. They even sent a scary Foreclosure "possibility" notice to my home - yup, tied to my door knob for ALL to see with a rubber band - what if it flew away. Anyway, this is why a lawyer helps; you have someone knowledgeable (fighting for you) & to keep the pressure on Citi.

Don't bother calling often-only when asked but still this doesn't get you anywhere! Just email bc you have it in writing. Follow-through & BE PATIENT - KEEP ALL DOCUMENTS & RESEND! RESEND! RESEND! I ended up sending & re-sending my info. TOO MANY TIMES (at least 10 & too many pages)! BE AWARE though that YOU MUST STAY ORGANIZED throughout it ALL! GOOD LUCK TO ALL! We now have SETERUS and they are BETTER!

My mortgage was sold to CitiMortgage and I have to agree with most of the comments...they are the worst. I also tried for a modification several years ago. They gave me the new payment and set up an automatic deduction from my checking account. After two months of this new payment I got a late payment notice. Without notifying me they declined the modification application and then took the new payments, which were 1/3 of the old payments, and applied them back against the two months that they had deducted the lesser payment. That made no payment for the third month, which then made me delinquent. The notice I got was a foreclosure notice if not paid. So by the time I got the notice, I had two months of the old payment I had to make.

Fortunately, I had put the money aside as I did not trust them when I was told that IF I was declined the money not paid would be added to the end of the mortgage. They also had told me to not make any payments to become late as I would have a better chance of being accepted if I was late on a payment. I refused to do this and then saw where many homes did go into foreclosure because the owners did what the banks told them to do. Then I decide to apply for a HARP refinance. I also did a HARP with another bank on another property at the same time. That one went through in less than two months.

CitiMortgage took six months of constantly having to send them paperwork that was not needed for a HARP. Only after complaining to my Attorney General's office did the refi finally go through. It is so bad that I ask any potential bank if they sell their mortgages. If they do, I will not get a mortgage through them as I do not want to risk it getting sold to Citi again. I want to make a one time payment to lower my principal, but am afraid they will screw that up somehow also.....

CitiMortgage is collecting sizeable application fees from unsuspecting homeowners, stringing them along for months, and then denying them. My husband makes $120k a year; we own a coastal home in one of New England's hottest real estate markets, and owe very little on the house. The appraisal came back double of what we were looking to borrow under a refinancing loan application. We were ensured by Chris ** that based on our income, credit score, and home value, there would be no problem closing on the loan. SIX MONTHS LATER (and a windfall of some rather crazy document requests, all of which we promptly complied with), we FINALLY received a letter of approval. HOWEVER, we then heard nothing from them.

After making several aggressive phone calls seeking a closing date -- we learned that our application has now been denied because yet another credit report was pulled and my husband's score dropped 30 points. I don't even know how it is possibly legal for them to continue to pull credit reports on a loan that has already been approved. As astonishing -- we pulled a credit report right after this news and my husband's credit score had actually gone up. This company will just toy and torment you. Rene **, one of the loan processors, whose department should be renamed "creative fraud" and who is and among an array of egregiously poor communicators at Citi - essentially sat around for months thinking up new things to ask us for. The program I was qualified for was an FHA streamline refinance that was backed by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Citi has been servicing this mortgage for over 10 years. I have outstanding credit and have never been late with a payment. I am an ideal borrower. Or so I thought.

Instead of receiving my FedEx package I instead received a letter from CitiMortgage advising me that my loan has been sold. The letter was dated October 20, which was the same date I made the phone call. All I can say is 'bravo, CitiMortgage'. After 5 years having my mortgage with CitiMortgage I just found out that my mortgage account was transferred to Seterus - a collection agency. I have never been late with my payments and I never missed a payment. I called CitiMortgage numerous times and letters ... no answer whatsoever why they did that. My credit score is in 790 - 810 range. I looked back in my mortgage files/folders and here is why they actually did it:

CitiMortgage purchase bundles of mortgages from other various banks and financial institutions. We all remember the mortgage crisis 4-5 years ago. These mortgages (including mine) were NOT backed by Freddie Mac or Fannie Mae (government) so the risk was taken by CitiMortgage. And they do not want that. They are just dumping the mortgages that are not secured by government agencies - and that just in case for any reasons you cannot make the payments. However, this is ridiculous to transfer a perfectly fine mortgage to a collection agency

We own a home in Ohio. We have tenants in the process of moving in. City holds the mortgage and insurance. The sent a "Preservation Team" to the house and determined on their own that they think its abandoned. It's not abandoned, people are moving in. So they changed the lock on the back door, put boards over the door window, went into the basement and took apart the parts to the well, drained the pressure tank and did other stuff upstairs. When I threatened them with breaking and entering they finally gave our tenants the combination to the locks. So when their preservation team sent their people out to "restore---what a joke that is" the property to its original state they went down to the well mechanisms area, broke the fitting off the bottom of the pressure tank and said it was our fault that the tank is no good and now they have to get the Bank to approve putting a new tank in. There was nothing wrong with that tank, our tenant verified that. They also ruined the back door.

Then we called the 2 departments involved in this mess, screamed at all of them and were told again we have to wait for City to approve the new items. And when you try to reach someone at City.....good luck with that. THEY ARE THE ABSOLUTE WORST. They have basically done damage to the house and our tenant is patiently waiting for it to all be resolved. I would not recommend anyone to get a mortgage with Citi.

On August 26, 20014, I mailed CitiMortgage, Inc., my regular Mortgage payment due on 9/1/14. On approximately 9/3/14, I received a letter from GreenTree dated 8/25/14, notifying me that my mortgage had been switched over to them and as of September 1, 2014, all Mortgage Payments were to be sent/paid to GreenTree. Concerned about the payment I had just mailed to CitiMortgage, I contacted CitiMortgage, who claimed (for the 1st time EVER) that they had not received my payment and suggested I call them back in a week to recheck on if they had received my payment. On 9/11/14 I followed up on this issue, with CitiMortgage, speaking to "Eden **, who told me that CitiMortgage still had not received my check and suggested I cancel it out, and call GreenTree to make new payment. Eden also stated that if CitiMortgage did receive check it would be forwarded to GreenTree and cashed through them.

I told Eden I am disabled and low income and couldn't afford to have the mortgage payment taken out twice (by having to make a 2nd September Mortgage payment to GreenTree, yet having CitiMortgage forward my original payment to GreenTree to be cashed in also), and Eden again suggested I cancel the original Mortgage payment made out to CitiMortgage. I then asked Eden who was going to pay for the cancellation fee since this whole situation was not my fault, but rather that it was CitiMortgage who did NOT inform me whatsoever that my Mortgage was being switched over to GreenTree and after Eden checked with her Supervisor, she said that if I wrote CitiMortgage's Research department, with proof of cancellation fee of $35, as well as a letter as to why I felt I should have the $35 reimbursed back to me, the Research Department would review this, call me, and I would be reimbursed. I then made sure that Eden had my correct phone number on my account and ended the call with Eden promising me that upon CitiMortgage receiving my information, somebody would contact me from the Research Department within 7 days.

On September 18, 2014, when my bank could give me proof of the cancellation fee, I promptly faxed all the above requested information to CitiMortgage Research Department. On 9/25/14, I again called CitiMortgage to follow up, and spoke to Stephanie **. I stated to Stephanie that I had not heard back from the Research Department as I had been promised, and she said that not only had CitiMortgage received my information for the Research Department, but that CitiMorgage had long ago received my payment and forwarded it to GreenTree (they actually had my payment in hand on 9/11/14, when I had spoken to Eden and Eden had told me otherwise!). Stephanie then said she would now forward all this information to her Supervisor who will look at my account and call me within 7 days to have the $35 escalated to me. I again gave her my correct phone number. On 10/7/14, when I STILL had not heard anything from ANYBODY from CitiMortgage, I phoned CitiMortgage and spoke to Chris **, who then when he went to access all updates regarding my account, put me on hold and lost my call! I immediately called back and spoke to Emily. Emily then told me that the Research Department is working on my case.

I could NOT get specifics out of Emily and in frustration, told Emily that I was told the same information for the past 3 weeks and that after being promised a phone call back from the Research Department on a continual basis, I had received NOT ONE CALL BACK in reference to my being reimbursed as promised, let alone any kind of response (via email, etc)! I then found out from Emily that CitiMortgage still had my old phone number they were using to contact me, despite that I had informed them each time I phoned them, of my updated phone number!! I informed Emily that I was NOT going to again call CitiMortgage back again but would take it beyond CitiMortgage if this wasn't resolved immediately! She asked me to give them 2 days to call me back, stating that she would have this escalated (something I had been told each time I called!), and once again promising that if I did this, somebody from the Research Department would call me back. Today is October 14, 2014 and I STILL have NOT had any response whatsoever from CitiMortgage, No phone call back, no email, NO RESPONSE!

I was a homeowner and decided to refinance after five years at my current address. I was told Citimortgage was a great bank and lender with the quality service and great rates! Yes in 2005 that was true. I was able to bring my information on my property to them and the relationship was mutually beneficial. My home was updated and my mortgage payments were timely and I was very satisfied. I was raising my children and working full time. In 2007 I was diagnosed with cancer of my thyroid. The finances were getting tight but I made full recovery. Citimortgage kept in close touch and actually lowered my monthly payments. I also then thanked them and I made all my bills and also paid my oncologists and all was fine.

In 2011 the mortgage went back up and I was ok with that. Unfortunately in 2012 I was working in North Jersey as an Outside Sales rep and felt I was run down and went for some tests. I was later diagnosed with early stages of Cervical and Ovarian Cancer. Naturally I called all my bills and explained the situation of my ongoing care. I was welcomed and given once again white glove service by Citimortgage. They allowed me time to go into a new hardship and it was successful. About a year later my boss said customers felt I looked pale and I was and I was let go with severance pay Sept 27, 2013. I then had to tell Citi what happened! They told me do not worry we have options! They immediately took all my documents and qualified me for the first of the year 2014 on their unemployment hardship for homeowners. That program ended June 1, 2014.

I then got alarming demand letters that if I did not pay a large balloon payment that I was facing foreclosure. Let's keep in mind they offered me this hardship and they knew I was recovering and only getting uei benefits. However as I was working with the homeowner's support they failed to tell me they were transferring me as a high risk and I got a new servicer called Seterus Inc. Well....here I am in October I made payments that they put in a "suspended" account! After 13 years in my home on time and proving illness and using my unemployment to pay my bills. I even have fully recovered and have several new job offers but I had to accept one that was more than unemployment and matched my former salaries! I could not take a pay cut. I have children in college and high school and I am a single mom.

I do have a boyfriend here now also contributing weekly; however, Citimortgage whatever they did my loan and my home is in major jeopardy! I am getting calls and being transferred and all I want is a regular mortgage statement! They are saying they must have a balloon of over I think 10,200 or they will move me to liquidation! None of this is sensible nor fair nor according to what program I just ended. I submitted new documents and spoke to both today and also over the past few weeks. I blame Citimortgage because they recommended I go on the unemployment hardship and once it ended they got rid of me as a client and blamed Fannie Mae sold the loan. Fannie Mae states they should not have transferred me after I was proven sick and recovered. Seterus is a servicer for mortgage release and short sales?? Or worse - foreclosure business!

They keep transferring me and all I want is to pay my mortgage and save my home. This is awful to do to someone who has lived and paid on time for 13 years. I need assistance. I do not want to go bankrupt to save my home. That should not be considered. I have children in college and one last year of high school. I need to keep myself above water and support my family and we love our home. I always kept Citimortgage informed and also with Seterus. I was supposed to remain in my current modification. Not bullied into paying a large balloon. Where would that possibly come from? I was told the 10K can be added into the loan. I need someone at your level to please intercede. Citimortgage is at fault.

I went through a divorce with my ex in 2010. He was on the note and we both were on title. He quit claimed his interest. I was awarded the property in our divorce (mine prior to the marriage). He filed BK and was discharged in 2010 as well. I did not file BK. He never made a single payment on the note. I made all pymts out of my own accounts. I continued to make payments before, during, and after the bankruptcy and divorce. Then all of a sudden in July 2011 CMI choose not accept my payments on the loan...and they were current. They told me I wasn't on the note and they couldn't accept my payments without a power of attorney and that the property was still in bankruptcy (it wasn't).

I explained I was on title and had a right to make the payments. I was then told again that I needed a power of attorney to make monthly payments, refinance, assume, sell, modify, rent, or assign. Yeah right! I was told that if I continued to make payments it would go into a non interest bearing pool account. I was told I couldn't assume the loan because I wasn't on the note! (I wouldn't need to assume the loan if I was on the note folks!). I was told if I sent in the payments I would be still fined late fees because the note was not in my name. I told them I was allowed to make the payments under Garn St. Germain (federal statute). They still refused. I was told that I needed to really save my money and once the bankruptcy was discharged I could settle up with the bank. CMI told me this with the BK discharge in their hands! It was already 9 months old!

This is all about getting the property reinstated in his name so that they can justify all the losses they will credit to themselves. They appear to have already collected hundreds of thousands of dollars on the fraudulent default... if it isn't reinstated in his name they may be paying heavy fines on what they collected (as I understand). No wonder the big banks were able to pay back their bailouts so quickly! I said I will formally assume the loan....still told no! I own the property! I sent CMI the assumption package anyway, including proof of income, where my money was to cure the loan and a month later I get letter stating the loan is still in bankruptcy and there is nothing they can do.... Again, they are now holding a bankruptcy discharge that is now 2 years and 2 months old.

I am now sent to the Homeowner Support Department of which tells me I don't need a power of attorney to make a payment or bring it current now that his bankruptcy is discharged. (Now it is almost 3) years since the discharge. I was told that I had to go through the modification department to do anything. So when I call them to bring the loan current and assume the loan of record, I was told I needed a power of attorney to do anything. This is crazy because I was just told by the other department that I didn't need a power of attorney. So CMI puts the homeowner in the middle of a dispute between two departments and because they can't figure it out I am sent to foreclosure.

Now I am talking with Aronowitz & Mecklenburg in Denver, CO. They continue the behavior and demand a power of attorney; in fact, they directed me to file a Probate case in district court to get conservatorship of my ex-husband's finances. No one has died or was dying. No one was lacking in capacity! I have a brain tumor (not cancerous) but it bleeds when my blood pressure rises slightly. The stress they have put me under is beyond all human reasoning. This comes under the heading of Domestic Terrorism as per the FBI statute. Out of fear of my life under this stress, I contact my abusive ex husband to see if I could get a limited power of attorney just for this case. I had to drag him out here on a contempt citation.

I won the case and got the power of attorney under a Rule 70 (where the court signs for him if he refuses). I let Aronowitz & Mecklenburg know that I won the case and they were going to get the power of attorney so that I could make my payments and bring it current. The judge had to sign off on the document. So Aronowitz & Mecklenburg file for the 120 hearing and continue the foreclosure knowing full well there is power of attorney being drawn....WHY??? The fees are why! Bulldoze the borrower over for sure! I submitted the power of attorney in Jan. 2014 to Citimortgage. The power of attorney was rejected by CMI because it has a clause stating that the loan can not be reinstated. I called Fannie Mae's fraud unit in SLC, UT. Suddenly my loan servicing was being transferred to another servicer.

I called the homeowner support dept and screamed to high heavens. I was told that if I didn't cure the loan by Jan, 31, 2014 they would foreclose. I have found soooo many RESPA violations....Plus they told me I didn't need a power of attorney....now they agreed to take my money..... They agreed to pay all the attorney fees. But they demanded to reinstate the loan. Plus all their cure figures were incorrect. I demanded accurate cure figures and they refused to talk to me again. I let them know they were not allowed to reinstate the loan. So what they had in their hands was a bankruptcy discharge and a non-reinstated note. The borrower has quit claimed his interest in the property and is not living in house... They have an owner living in the property who has title. Oh yeah! They have denied me my rights under the DOT and Garn St Germain.

Then I get a call from my insurance company. I am provided a request from CMI to them to change the policy owner to my ex husband who isn't on the policy and hasn't been for 5 years. They state if you do this real quick.. we will pay you real quick! CMI also requests that all the coverage be dropped on the dwellings and only the land be covered! This was again.... to get my ex-husband reinstated through the back door possibly.

I have now had 3 continuances on the 120 hearing. Hired an attorney(s) who wound up really flipping sides. I have had three sets of incorrect cure figures from CMI. By the way, Aronowitz & Mecklenburg was fined into the millions by the Colorado Attorney General for.... let's say "misdoings" I think the word fraud was used! My last set of figures included fees from this fined law practice as well..... I just got charged the same fees that the law firm was just fined for over charging. My file was transferred from Aronowitz and Mecklenburg to a new foreclosure mill. CMI offered to waive the attorney fees in exchange for their release of liability and Aronowitz & Mecklenburg. NOT.

I wrote a check for 50K ...cured the loan. That put me in the driver's seat. I receive a letter from the new foreclosure mill stating that the loan was now reinstated!!!!!!!!!!!! Put it into writing that my ex-husband is now responsible for the loan again. CMI Managed to circumvent away around a federal bankruptcy discharge and reinstate the loan. They managed to ignore Garn St Germain. Refused to take my payments or even allow me to assume the loan on the property that I hold title to. CMI caused this fraudulent attempted foreclosure. I had money, I was making my payments. OH Dear....guess what's next? Looking for a new attorney in Colorado.

When I told them I could prove that I sent the documentation when they asked for it because I had all the email correspondence with the documentation attached they said we had to start over again. Both times we have had to file for bankruptcy to keep them from selling our house.

We have now been working with a lawyer for the past year and a half. We have continuously provided every piece of documentation that they have asked from us. They are saying they are denying it because they cannot get the payments down low enough. The reason the payments are so high is because each year without us paying they have more than tripled what our monthly payment will be. Even though we have more than enough equity in our house to add on what we owe from our missed payments including all their attorney's fees they are trying to deny us again. We were out of work and used all of savings to pay our payments until we could not pay anymore and then we started missing our payments. I am told that because we have so much equity in our house that is why they are trying to deny us versus working with us. Can you help in anyway? Thank you.

We are asking for <50% of appraised value - (requesting $77,000 on a house appraised at $158,000) we have a million in assets and excellent credit rating. There is no reason this should be delayed any longer. They are not returning my phone calls. We have invested way too much time, a ream of papers faxed with our information to be kept waiting. They made me check a star, Angry doesn't even describe what I have been through! I was forced to file bankruptcy after failed modification attempt stemming from last year and wrapped up me being part of the federal shutdown. When I returned to work, waited for my pay to be reinstated they decided not to accept my payments, started a modification prior to this because it was felt we were going to be shut down and I was already behind and struggling. DENIED modification, was turned over to attorneys for foreclosure and added huge expenses.

Filed bankruptcy, again fell behind due to other circumstances and while in Chapter 13 there is nothing you can do to borrow or help yourself. If you can't pay you just are out of luck. Well turned out I was asked about another modification, chances are better, went through this again! DENIED again. Had to modify my bankruptcy to include the 3 months owed, plus attorney fee again. All this because I was sued for half the equity by an ex-boyfriend when the peak of the market had been reached, I didn't overbuy, my home was down to $139,000 and now it's $307,000 and underwater by about $100,000 or more. I am at a loss here, Freddie Mac backs this loan. These people have gotten trillions of dollars and I have not been helped at all. Now sending me letters that my short sale is denied? I never asked for a short sale, ever!

I co-signed for my mom's mortgage 10 years ago. My mom paid her mortgage and her own expenses and worked full time. Sadly, my mom died on 4/28/13 (after a 3.5 month battle with cancer). When I called Citi a few days after my mom died to find out the status of the mortgage and to make a payment. I was told I was the proud owner of rental property. I cannot rent the property due to the homeowner association declarations. The property is underwater and I attempted to Short sale the property. Citi refused the first "cash" short sale offer as they stated it was low and they gave a price they wanted. The second short sale, also "cash" was denied by Citi as they said I made enough money to continue to pay the mortgage "in perpetuity" even though I do not live there, have never lived there have my own home and more importantly.. cannot afford my mom's mortgage/assessments.

Citi offered to refinance with a rate of 4.875%. The mortgage rate my mom had is 2.75%. Citi also stated I was not eligible for a DIL. They also stated Freddie Mac was the decision maker on the denial for the short sale. While I was contacting Freddie Mac, Citi had turned over my file to a foreclosure firm. Now I am in foreclosure. During the above, I was assigned and reassigned to 4 different people. I also was getting harassing phone calls and emails stating one thing, then another email retracting the first email, etc. It was some kind of game of hide the truth and clearly I lost. I was told the only way Citi would help me if was unemployed and/or became disabled. All this occurred while I was trying to come to terms with the death of my mother. Their foreclosure attorney recommended DIL to my attorney, once again I filled out all the paperwork and sent it to Citi. It has been over a month and I have yet to hear from Citi.

I have been out of work for about a month and getting nervous that soon I won't have enough money to pay the bills. I called Citi to ask if there were any programs to assist or defer payments temporarily. The website lists all these wonderful options, such as "deferment" "repayment" "modification" and some other. I spent an hour on the phone with a rep giving all my financial details and then created an application and she said it would be referred to a specialist. The next day that specialist called me and poorly explained everything to me but basically told me that there was nothing I could do except become delinquent then contact them back. Once I am delinquent, then I "might" be able to get the balance extended or deferred, but this is after my credit has already been reported... and get this... and only if my problem has been "resolved" meaning that I found a job. So in short, I must go delinquent, mess up my credit, find a job first, then give them a call and I still have no guarantee of getting help. A similar policy for the modification.

That specialist and supposed expert that helped me last, he was answering phones on help desk duty when I called back half an hour later to reset my online password. The same exact guy Mr. C. **. Was I really even talking to somebody that knew what they were doing? I really don't get it, after all the lessons the banks have learned over the last 10 years they still make it less possible to get help and MORE likely to get customers in trouble.

The first week of August 2014, we finally receive word that the lender has now decided, after having this property listed for over 400 days with an "approved short sale", that they want to get more money for the property. Our contract offer is now deemed not acceptable and we are informed they want $11,500 more for this property. Why did it take 8 long months for them to decide on more money and why in the first place was a listing allowed to state "approved short sale" when clearly it was NOT? I believe this transaction to have been grossly unethical and underhanded on their part. I would never do business with this company and certainly would not recommend any dealings with them.

I said I didn't see such a thing on my statement and had never been informed of this cushion. He informed me I paid it the year prior. I said so each year I have to provide you with a two month cushion thereby increasing my monthly payment every year through the life of the loan. I said "What a rip." Two years later after making all my payments, (I was paying online with a check.) Every once in a while, someone would tell I had to pay by debit card. I did, but payment never got collected... Found out later I had a daily limit... Finally, after moocho BS, numerous emails, over & over, I finally got a modification and had to make three trial payments. I made the first two payments by phone using a check. On the third payment, I was told I had to use a debit card. This time I called the bank ahead of time to verify the payment, called Citi bank to confirm and yet no payment was made causing me to get kicked out of the mod. I was so ticked...

After a few months, I contacted NACA and submitted all of the information Citi requested and submitted the info to Citi loan reps. I called Citi to start the modification again. Only to be told all the info I submitted was not available because I one had access to the info (except for one person who verified all the info was accounted for). I has to go thru endless requests for more info that had been submitted repeatedly. FINALLY, I got a new mod, made all payments with a cashiers check. Then I got details... My $624000 w/ 5.75 interest resulted in a $424000. Balance with $200000 deferred after I make payments for 3 years and after 275 payments, my last payment was a $512000 balloon payment. Interest dropped ALL the way down to 5.125 present... Such a deal. My home is worth approx $430000. To top it off, I got a letter stating I had a surplus escrow of about $34000 and they would send a check. When I called about the check, I was told it was a glitch. I also get two different statements a month with different amounts. I could go on but you get my drift...

As I'm sure many of you know, when entering a Forbearance agreement, it states that you must pay the difference of the mortgage payment, so my regular payment is 923.00 and if I paid $738.00, I would have to pay the difference of $185.00 per month. For 08/2010 and for 09/2010, I paid a total of $1476 towards my mortgage. However, at the time of my agreement, I did not know I had to pay a difference of $370.00. On October 2010, my statement stated that I owed $138.00 in late fees and that I had a past due amount of $1846.00. CitiMortgage did not value my forbearance agreement and in fact, my account statement was not reflective of the forbearance agreement, there was no proof that I even paid $723.00 of my forbearance plan.

Finally in May 2011, my account became up to date and I no longer had any outstanding balances but every month CitiMortgage continued to state that I was behind one payment even though I wasn't. Citi's goal is to hold onto insurance funds as long as possible. Our company was re-building a home that mostly burnt down (mortgaged by Citi). After completing repairs to 80%, Citi agreed to release 80% of the remaining funds so we could continue working on the project. We continued working only to find out that Citi did not or would not issue the funds. At the time we found out we ordered an inspection. The inspection determined we were 93% complete. Still they would not issue needed funds to complete the project.

Due to lack of funds we were forced to quit the project leaving the homeowner homeless and without available funds to complete the project. At the time we removed ourselves from the project we only needed $20,000 to get to 100% complete. Due to Citi's negligence and greed the home has close to $100,000 of liens and the homeowner is in litigation trying to get the home finished.

During the time I lost my employment, the home was affected by Hurricane Sandy. I was out of work for more than 6 months. We contacted Citimortgage and they said that they will help but that was not the case. I depleted all of my retirement funds because they said that we needed to get current to get the HAMP modification. We got current and they changed the representative and denied the modification. Citimortgage denied us every time until recently because we had strong documented evidence of their deceptive practices and got support from the Long Island Housing Partnership's, Carrie **, the NY State Attorney General's Office, and Touro Law School. We are appreciative that LIHP, NYS Attorney General Eric Schneiderman office, and Touro Law were able to help to an extent but we feel that the real battle is just beginning.

For more than two years, they would say we were missing documents and were not in compliance, they changed representatives numerous times (even the representative did not know that they were no longer involved), and we had to start the documentation process all over. They placed us on a $11 dollar 8 month forbearance plan based on a signed agreement to have it taken away according to their representatives (they also said we could not pay more than $11 dollars placing us more into debt), which was not true because Ginnie ** had the status as being on a forbearance plan all along. They then placed us on a 3 month trial modification which was extended to more than 7 months. Finally we received the HAMP Modification agreement and the loan was split up now to have a deferred portion in which a balloon payment of $154,000 has to be paid at the end. This company had hidden agendas every time. Its deceptive practices are wrong. Now with the modification in its last stages, we have decisions to make.

In addition to all of this, Citimortgage reported our credit history incorrectly. Furthermore, because my credit history was reported negative it increased my time in unemployment. Companies use your credit report in reviewing your management skills and responsibility. You're damned if you do and damned if you don't. Another issue we have to deal with. In October of last year, we began to fall behind on our mortgage payment. Over the course of the next few months, my husband was off of work without pay for several weeks. We are a family of six and his income is our sole income. As a result, an attempt to compensate for the monies lost when he was off of work became next to impossible. We just kept falling farther and farther behind."90 day mark" we would be "ok".

We proceeded to send in the second half of the payment. At this point, we had just passed that 90 day mark. However, this payment would set us back to 90 days behind. A few weeks later, our payment (the second half) was returned to us. When I called CITI, I was told that they could not accept our payment because foreclosure was initiated. They explained that we should look into modification. I told her that I didn't want to go that route if possible. We went through it several years prior and it was a nightmare. I asked if we could work out a repayment plan instead.

I told her I could put $2000.00 down (which was half of our past due amount) and repay the rest via their repayment plan. The rep. told me that our payments would be a double mortgage payment for 5 months, along with the $2000.00 down, and ending in a balloon payment at the end of the 5 months. I found this absurd, in that we would only be repaying $2000.00. When I voiced my concern, I learned that not only had late charges and fees incurred, but we now owed attorney fees, etc.

We are now into the month of Feb. We are still falling farther behind because they would not let us make a payment. Luckily (or so we thought) we received our tax return. I immediately called CITI and told them that we wanted to bring our mortgage current. We had the funds in our account. They declined our money. We were told that the only money that they would accept would be the total mortgage paid in full. They urged us to continue on with the modification process. This process took 3 months, countless requests for documentation, unanswered e-mails and phones not returned.

This morning I called my loan specialist to check up on the progress of our modification. Turns out we were denied. The reasons given were that we have exceeded our allowable modifications on this property. We did a modification several years ago when my husband lost 3 quarters of his pay due to a company takeover. I asked again about a repayment plan. That too was denied. The reason was that we didn't make enough money. Funny, minutes before I spoke with our specialist, I was on a call with a rep. from Making Home Affordable. We went over our budget together and she stated that we DID make enough money to do a repayment plan. Wonder where CITI is getting their figures???

Our only options now are to do a short-sale, foreclosure, or come up with 8700.00 in 2 weeks! Why 8700.00? Turns out that not only are late charges added in as well as attorney fees, we are also being charged close to 1700.00 in processing fees for the denied modification! Recall the reason we were denied - allowable limit of modifications reached. My question is, why pre-approve us for a modification and have us go through this hell and uncertainty for 3 months, knowing BEFORE the process was initiated that we would not be approved? Oh, that's right - because they were able to squeeze more money out of us and leave us with no other option but to short sale.

I have been going h l with Citibank. Almost 2 years ago, I tried to do a loan modification. Couldn't get one. Then I hired a lawyer and got one. Told them that new loan was still too much. They said, "Do what you can do." Tried to market my home for what it was worth. No response, no showings. Then we tried a short sale. Finally got a buyer. They went back and forth and back and forth. Need new paperwork, then they would start the process again. After 9 months they finally came back with, "We have reappraised the property and we want more money from the buyer." The buyer laughed and walked away.

By this time I had enough and went ahead with my planned move. So then Citibank suggested a deed in lieu. Again they went back and forth, back and forth. It was like it was a plan. I finally contacted a lawyer and started bankruptcy proceeding... Then they said that the deed in lieu couldn't go forward because of this. Then I said just take it back and I was told it's not that easy. And then I started to receive letter about loan modifications. My bankruptcy is finished.

Citibank asked the court for a hearing. Now they are playing a game of postponing court dates. And my vacant home decreases in value. They changed the locks. I can't get in and it has already been vandalized. This is not the way to do business. They have made me feel like a criminal as if I had planned to defraud them. Instead on just a retired person whose income keeps on getting smaller.

Well I can write a book about this company (CitiMortgage). Awful customer service. My husband job closed down that he had been working at for 12 yrs (2009), started the process of Loan Modification right away. Paperwork after paperwork was sent in. I was told every time I called that I was miss something. So I sent it, months went by still try to get modification. NO RESULTS.. So I tried short sale. Well again NO RESULTS. I had 2 separate offers. Clients had so many days to purchase the house. It took almost 6 months to approve short sale for 1 of the clients. She walked away saying it's taking too long. She is about to lose her voucher to purchase a home. 2 days later we received email short sale was approved.. That buyer had already signed another offer so another offer was placed for another buyer which took almost 8 months.

CITI wanted buyer to purchase home as commercial property, that buyer walked.. At this point I'm about hairless. I tried loan modification again, which I was approved for on August 29, 2013. Document mailed out I received them on September 5, 2014, had until September 6, 2013 so signed and returned them with a payment of $1280.50 for some additional fees, but my trial payment was under $700. October 1, 2013 was my 1st payment. When I called in to make the payment I was advised they made a error on the paperwork. WRONG AMOUNT.. I asked "why should I have to pay for a error your company made not me? I'm paying what I agree to pay..."

I continue to make my payments until my call to CitiMortgage today 2/24/14 inquiry on finalized paperwork of my loan modification. I was told that it was deny due to payment submitted was not in full. So at this point I'm tired of stressing on this house. I setup appointment with a attorney today.. From reading all of these reviews I'm not the only person going through BS with this company... GOOD LUCK TO ALL CITI MORTGAGE CUSTOMERS..

Hi, My name is Michelle **. I have been working on behalf of my father Harold ** to try and get his loan modified. He has signed paperwork giving me permission to discuss his account. My dad called and said that he received letters from the lawyer stating that the house is being sold on March 4. We want to save the house. His health is not the best and this whole process has been completely ridiculous. During the past few months I was behind too on my mortgage and I was able to get mine modified without all this paper pushing and craziness and I have way more bills than he has. I am not sure why Citimortgage is doing this, but based on my research Citimortgage has been investigated for fraudulent foreclosure practices and ironically the same law firm is being used to handle my dad's.

I will be gathering more research to gather as much as I can in his defense. He may be on SSI but he is willing to pay his mortgage if you will just work with him. If the house is sold there will be complaints made and his voice will be heard so maybe someone else will not have to go through what he has gone through. I have contacted FHA and other resources to get some help. We have been through 3 reps that were supposed to work on his without any positive result. Every time he calls he can never speak to the rep associated with his account. They are stalling and this should be stopped. We have submitted paperwork many times and the latest was December 2013, which is posted on the webpage, faxed, and emailed, so they can't say that they did not received it.

The HomeSafe GA group is trying to help my dad with authorization to do so, but they are having trouble getting in contact with reps that have any type of clue of what is going on. I will go the ends of the Earth to make sure that CitiMortgage pays for what they are doing to my dad and so many others. People should speak up and loud to stop this mortgage company from being able to kick people out of their homes, even after the owners have jumped through all of their hurdles and cut through all of their red tape. Based on what I have researched he is and I also have found research showing how CitiMortgage has fraudulently foreclosed on others. Also the lawyer (Phelan Hallinan & Schmieg) that is handling my dad's "foreclosure" is the same one mentioned in this article. Please guide us in the right direction to hopefully save my dad's home and to help stop CitiMortgage from taking advantage of our senior citizens, people on SSI and SSD, and our veterans. The more I research this company the more I wonder how it has been allowed to continue to operate.

We had our house for sale and put off paying our property taxes until the week they were due, we sent the check to our county. Before our check cashed, Citimortgage paid the taxes and opened an escrow [we never had escrow, nor did we want it]. Our check was returned to us from the county and the nightmare began. I called almost weekly to try get the escrow account closed.

We continued making our regular payment monthly. It took 6 months of calls and live chats to get it straightened around. I was repeatedly told inaccurate information. I would do exactly what they said and I would log in and our account would be wrong, or payments misapplied. They even paid our Feb. 14, 2014 tax bill in December 2013 - after telling me they would not, because I had faxed them a copy of last years bill showing the due date. Our county hadn't even mailed them out yet so I couldn't give them this years.

Payments were misapplied now when our escrow is finally closed and it cost us about $2,000, for 3 months our principal stayed the same, even though we were making our payments, which I still don't know how they could make that math work? I have never ever dealt with a company that cared so little and had such terrible customer service. I will never deal with them again. Be extremely careful - we were paying high interest 7%+ and they messed our account up repeatedly. Nightmare and SO frustrating!

My husband was put on leave without pay on May 2013. I immediately called CitiMortgage to let them know what was happening and they offered a mortgage modification/hardship assistance program. It is February 2014 and I have told no less than 5 times that it's in the final five days of review. I have had 5 different Homeowner Support Specialists and they are basically flippant about my situation or the process. They simply tell me, "It's in the final stages", although they keep asking me for the same paperwork over and over again. Meanwhile, I am two payments behind and I keep getting default letters from them. I would not recommend them for your mortgage company. I'm not sure if I'm in a position to find another mortgage company but I may have to look into it. I'm not sure what to do. All I know is CitiMortgage is giving me the run-around.

I was on the phone with Citi over 2 hours yesterday! I am so angry! They are using #2 in this modification document to say I cannot assume the loan or process a release of Liability or a HARP. It doesn't say that anywhere in that paragraph nor would I presume that this paragraph had this meaning.

Yesterday at 4:24 I called Citi from my work phone ** - I spoke to Angel. She transferred me to Robert. Robert couldn't do anything to help me. Got transferred to Ryan. He's saying that Clause #2 prevent me from getting a Release of Liability. Then he transferred me to Isaac because I said Citi needs to tell me how I can get Emanuel removed from my mortgage when Citi promised me in 2010 that if I modified and kept my loan current that I could get a HARM or Release of Liability. Isaac the customer service supervisor transferred me to homeowners Support Team ** where I spoke to David. David said my loan had to be current for at least 6 months and have no lates in 12 months. The only way to know if I qualified for a HARP was to apply. He couldn't tell me if my loan met the qualifications. This is a complete 360 from what I was told on January 21st. I was told then that my loan could not qualify for HARP because I had already done a modification.

The call with David was dropped and I called back from my cell phone. It was 5:30 by now. I got Claudia, she transferred me to ** refinance dept for HARP, after arguing with her that I just wanted to speak to David so I wouldn't have to re-communicate my situation. I got Portia, a mortgage consultant. Portia couldn't help me because she didn't know about the HARP program. She transferred me to Michael who said according to his system, I was late in October. But, after arguing with Michael that Citi had two different systems and their systems were not in sync, he finally got a customer service representative on the line who told him I WAS NOT late in June or October.

The payment was made in the month it was due, but didn't show on Michael's system until the following day. But, I have not been late on my loan since 2/2013. Michael then said he was going to check with the underwriters and get back to me today on whether or not my loan could qualify for the HARP program. He was concerned that I have a 3.5 interest rate now, but the current HARP rate is almost 5. That would increase my payment. I told him I am looking to reduce the principle balance on my loan because my house is upside down and I want the same rate but most of all, I need Emanuel removed from the loan or I will be forced to walk away from the property because I cannot short sale it. The loan is current. You cant short sale a current loan.

Michael didn't call me back on Friday as promised. I called today and got Reggie. Reggie gave me Michael's direct number. I called Michael 3 times. Finally I was able to reach Michael. He was rude, lacked compassion and respect. He was also argumentative saying, "if you made your payment on the 1st this wouldn't have happened". He said it didn't have HARP codes because of the two late payments. He transferred me to Jo-ann. Jo-Ann transferred me to a HARP Specialist at number ** who was Dawn. Dawn said she had no ID#, but she transferred me to Jose, specialist who pre-screens. Jose after getting my identity information transferred me to Sara - a mortgage consultant.

Sara 3-way called customer service. They told her that 5:00 was the cut-off for posting payments. I read to her what was on my receipt, which said 11 pm Central time and my payment had been made at 10:59 am. She seemed surprised and this is what made her 3-Way customer service. We got Kati, a supervisor in customer service. Kati is sending screen shots to Sara. Sara is going to put in a research request to the HARP underwriters providing the screen shots and requesting that my account be given HARP codes so that I can apply for HARP. Sara also asked for my e-mail and said she'd get back to me. She said it might take a couple days. She also said she'd need the Quit Claim again. Although I said Citi already had the Quit Claim, I was more than willing to send any documents she needed. This is the first person that has been helpful.

Citi continues to make promises and tell me what the qualifications are. Then when I meet the qualifications they change them to something else or come up with another issue - listed property, number of inquiries, bankruptcy, etc... none of these are supposed to disqualify me for the HARP loan. Try, do I have an recourse with Citi? I think they are getting away with screwing me because I reaffirmed and now they won't live up to their promises to remove Emanuel from the mortgage.

I had a CitiMortgage loan and escrow account. I refinanced my mortgage through my local credit union on Oct 31, 2013. My property taxes were due on Nov. 15, so the new mortgage holder, after checking that they hadn't been paid, withheld the amount due from my cash-out amount. Even though CitiMortgage wasn't supposed to pay the taxes (they wouldn't be holding the mortgage when my taxes were due), I called them up on Oct 31 to be sure. I told them that my new loan holder already took out the money needed for the taxes and were responsible to pay it, and that CitiMortgage should refund all the escrow money back to me ASAP. He said that they had already taken out the full tax amount on Oct 22 from my escrow account.

When I told him that Washington county doesn't have it, he said that they normally put all the Wash Co. taxes in one big check, but he couldn't tell me whether it had been sent or not. Certain that they hadn't written the check yet, I told him to put my money back in my escrow account, and send it to me. He said they couldn't do that. I asked him why not, and he said he didn't know where my money was. He would open an investigation, but it would take 21 days to find out. Evidently, they never did put the money back because Wash Co. received their check on Nov 12th. On Nov. 14th, CitiMortgage notified Wash Co that they mistakenly sent them my duplicated tax money, and asked that Wash Co send THEM a check for the duplicated amount.

When the county finally sorted everything out, they sent CitiMortgage a check on Dec 4. I called CitiMortgage later, and they acknowledged that they got the check on Dec. 6, but didn't know when I would get the refund. I finally received it on Dec 30. Separate from this, On Nov 30, a full month after their mortgage had been paid off, I received a check from them for $2470, saying that it was for the remaining escrow balance, and for overpayment of interest. Since I pay $530 per month into the escrow account, and they are only allowed two months of buffer, clearly they were sitting on a lot of money that they weren't supposed to have. It's now Jan. 26, 2014, and I still haven't received an escrow fund account statement.

I was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 44 and with a 1 1/2 and 4 year old at home. I contacted CitiMortgage to let them know that I was running low on my personal funds and I was hoping for help by way of a modification. I was told I was not eligible because I was not late on a payment. Well I paid my mortgage every month on time and even paid a little extra in hopes of paying the mortgage down sooner until my cancer diagnosis. I started defaulting on the note and was told I could get help. SIX modifications later, I still haven't met all their requirements and even got a roommate so I could show extra income as my DTI was supposedly a problem on one of the modifications. So I now have to wait THREE MONTHS to show the income on my bank statement.

Okay, I did it and guess what? MY HOUSE IS IN FORECLOSURE! I can't win. I did hire a lawyer but it doesn't look so promising because clearly there aren't professional people at CitiMortgage. I used to ask the person on the phone how long they worked for CitiMortgage and the average was 6 MONTHS! These "kids" have NO CLUE about mortgage loans and we are all getting taken advantage of. Can't someone with a legal background offer any advice on how we can sue CitiMortgage? My oldest son (8) is so upset when he hears me talking about the house. It isn't fair. All I asked for was a modification and they won't take a dime of my money at this point. Having had ovarian cancer, I certainly don't want it to come back but with all the stress they are putting me through..... I don't want to think about it.

Called numerous times in regards to PMI. Customer service has well spoken language and are polite; however, documents are easily lost, no communication between personnel at CITI mortgage, different people giving different information. Contract appraisers that deliberately estimate houses to meet CITI benefits (and charge 400-500$ at same time). The appraiser appraised our house ~25% below market value. No legal way of pulling the battle through. You just get "wrapped" into CITI system and you will loose prior picking up the phone.

My complaint is not about customer service, rather about the CITI mortgage system that does anything and everything possible to rip off customers and feed their bonuses. No wonder why company is doing so great... Just a note to future customers that are considering CITI mortgage for their home loans - run away as far as you can.... Also, read fine print. You'd be surprised what is written into the print that can HURT your wallet.

I also have been trying to get a Loan Modification with Citi, will be 2 years next month. When they started the foreclosure we went to Mediation. According to the Citi Mortgage Representative I was $300.00 below income wise per month. I went back to work part-time because I am disabled and cannot really work full time due to heart problems and other issues. Since then I got married which my husband now takes care of a lot of the expenses. Last package update was sent on October 1, 2013. I received a letter of Approval from their Office on or about 12/9/13. Subsequent to that I received a decline.

When I contacted them, no one could agree who had sent. The house was put up for sale on January 31, 2014 and to this day I have not received a Notice of Sale. Not only this looks like a fraud, I now have the income to get going on paying a mortgage. Yes, I believe Citi needs to review their policies in helping people like us that are struggling. Also, they sure knew how to get a bail-out from the Government, gave fat bonuses to their CEOS and left us behind. What goes around comes around, and all I hope is that if they need help in the future, our Government sees them for what they are.
