BoA sold my mortgage to Carrington 2 months ago. I never received notice from Carrington about my account #, like I was supposed to. When I called they wouldn't even apologize, the guy didn't even care. Acted liked it was my fault. Now I go to pay my bill only to find they charge you a "convenience fee" to make payments...that's right, they charge you MORE money to give them money.

I have purchased two homes through Carrington mortgage in the last two years and I have nothing but good things to say about my loan officer Meghan and both the processors I worked with in each transaction. The process was smooth and I closed on both homes in less than 30 days and have been serviced by Carrington Mortgage as well and had no issues thus far. Thank you Carrington Mortgage.

My mortgage was transferred to Carrington from Bank of America with no notification. They sent me a letter in the mail a month later after I tried to contact them numerous times. They charge convenience fees for every function. It seems criminal. Their website and automated function don't operate at all. It seems like they want problems. I just want to make a payment. It shouldn't be this difficult. We (their forced consumers) should file a class action lawsuit to straighten this out. This is unacceptable!

I would not recommend this company to anyone! BoA sold our mortgage to Carrington in September 2018, most likely because the property is worth less than the mortgage. Since then, we've had nothing but issues. We never received any correspondence from Carrington with an account number or their so-called welcome packet. I called them in September to get my new account number so I could make a payment. They told me that they were still transferring all the information and my info/new acct number hadn't yet been set up in their system. I was advised I would receive a letter in the mail once the account was established, and when I asked about the September payment, they advised me that it would not be considered or reported late.
I had to call in October because I still hadn't received anything. Finally, they provided me with an account number, but I chose not to pay over the phone or online because of their $5 fee. I mailed them a check for September and October payments and they cashed it. Now today, they had someone go out to my property trying to give my tenants an envelope addressed to me. At 8 o'clock on a SATURDAY MORNING! Not only that, but this individual was also asking the tenant for my address and phone number... that Carrington already had on file (I gave it to them earlier this month when I called them to get my account number)! I'd already called Carrington after they cashed the check for the payments to make sure they didn't need anything else, and the rep assured me that they did not. Now to have them visiting my property and essentially harassing my tenants is unacceptable. I am anxious for Monday so that I can call my lawyer about this situation.
PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR... READ THE REVIEWS ON THIS SITE. You'll be able to tell which reviews come from people who've actually dealt with this company versus the ones that seem fake. If you aren't so fortunate and are forced to deal with them, be sure to document EVERYTHING, including phone calls, get the names of the representatives you talk to, and consult with your lawyer. This place is unprofessional and just bad business all around.

On August 2, 2018 I was reach out by a representative from Carrington Mortgage named David **. On that day I submitted all the paperwork he would need to get this loan started. About 7 to 10 days later I received an email from Dave saying I was pre-approved for a mortgage and he would order a home appraisal which was a nightmare done by a man name Steven **. The report came back with a few minor things which were easily repaired. After that nightmare was resolved I waited to find out when the paperwork would be ready to sign another 7 to 2 weeks went by and no contact from anybody. By now it's labor day that Tuesday I called to see how things were going they told me that Dave had quit a week ago and I had a new loan processor Douglas Earl ** who had no clue what he was doing.
By now we are well into mid-October enter Joe **. He promised he would make this loan happen. Just needed a few more pieces of paperwork. Today 10/26/2018 Joe could not make the loan happen. If it was done properly and at normal amount of time the loan would have gone through. I make out my credit cards thinking this loan is coming to get some work done around the outside of my house. Now Joe tells me something different. They say their goal is 100% satisfaction. I would give them 10% satisfaction.

If your mortgage was sold and now serviced by Carrington you need to understand it's their job to flip these loans either by forcing you to refinance, pay off or foreclose for as little as a 3% profit. After 22 years mine was sold to them too, I did a little research. Your mortgage was bundled and sold with what Wall Street considers nonperforming loans, either you are behind on payments, you have a low credit score or your loan balance is more than the house is worth. Once Wall Street groups buy your mortgage it's assigned to trustees who in turn hire Carrington to make sure that flip happens. This is their true purpose so they don't really care if your loan gets handled correctly.
You need to make sure that you adhere to the terms and conditions in your contract, then you need to create as much of a proven history with your dealing with them as possible, make copies of everything and create as much proof as you can in every single dealing you have with them. If it's something as simple as a fax you need to pay to fax it so you can get a receipt and a printed transmission verification report, this is all that will save you in court, you have to protect your own self and that start by collecting proof and evidence. I was not behind on my mortgage. I simply had a low credit score due to it being the only thing on my credit, we had no other debt and pay cash for everything, they got my loan in May of 2017 and they kept telling me not to make a payment. They didn't have me in their system yet.
I finally told them I had a 10 day grace period on my payment that was about to expire, I made my payment anyway (in keeping with my contract) by Western Union, they not only denied receiving my payment it took getting Western Union involved to get them to acknowledge it and they still didn't credit my May, June, or July payments until August all while sending me foreclosure notices, something I'd never received in 22 years.
Skip to May of 2018 exactly a year and they didn't credit the payment they received electronically from my bank on the 15th (my payment is due on the 20th). I faxed them a detailed report the bank printed out that contained all the transaction codes and a letter from the bank stating they did in fact get my payment on the 15th, I had to do that 7 times after which they sent me an unsigned letter asking for a copy of my bank statement which they did not need (they are fishing to see how much money you have which didn't work with me because after my research I talked with a lawyer who advised we set up an account for nothing but paying our house payment). I had to fax them a copy of my bank statement along with the original faxes an additional 3 times before they credited my payment and they still didn't credit it for the right date, they listed the payment received on the date they finally decided to credit it not the day they received it.
I made my payment on the 5th of this month and it has not been credited yet either and I bet you're wondering if I can prove anything I'm saying, you bet I can, everything from a copy of my credit report that shows nothing on it but my house which was in good standing with no late payments to a receipt and transmission verification report for every fax I sent them.
At this point I'm building proven paper fact evidence against them that they have a history of not crediting my payments, that's why I tell you all to get as many forms of proof that you can and it's best if you make your payments through something like online banking instead of directly through them because it creates evidence that can be corroborated by a third party. There are many state and federal resources I have not seen mentioned in any statement here that people must not be aware of but if they keep playing games with me I'm going to start a website with a list of all of them.

They want you to go paperless. Isn't this the whole thing, to eliminate paper, so the costs are lower? I never heard about a Convenient FEE! I don't like them!!! I hate them!!! I was working with Justin from Carrington for about 2 months, all my paperwork had been submitted, and according to him, approved. I received 2 preapproval letters that corresponded with the properties I was looking at. I am under the belief that as soon as I find a house I like, everything would go smooth. Justin called and stated that they are looking at my student loans, which are not in default/nor have bad reporting on my credit, the balance is high but in good standing. I informed him in the beginning that I had this loan and that was the only outstanding debt I had, which he should have seen when he pulled my information in the beginning. After he stated they were reviewing this, I have not heard from him since, no phone calls, no emails, which was not surprising because his communication was awful throughout all this.
I should have taken the advice of my agent who told me that they had a bad reputation. I actually lost a house because the seller's agent went with another company who she had worked with prior to, and also worked with Carrington who she had a terrible experience with. This company should be reviewed by the feds/state to look over their practices, something shady is going on. No one is working during office hours, then you get a call out the clear blue on a situation that most of the time has been resolved. I went to another company the next day (Movement Mortgage), who has had great communication, day and night. Approved within days and finalized within a week or so. No headaches, no lapse in communication, everything went smooth. I close in 2 weeks.

As of 9/4/18, Bank of America sold our loan to Carrington. Since this process began, we had ZERO notice, someone showed up at the property, gave a stranger a letter (not even in an envelope), and was asking questions about us. We don’t even live at that address!!! The letter contained personal information including account numbers and our current physical address. As a rental property our tenants were terrified thinking we were in some kind of foreclosure, or they would be anticipating an eviction! We find all this out in the same day!
We call and get a CS rep who didn’t know anything! Had no account number, was asking us to give him our checking account number for auto draft, and was insanely rude! We are totally disappointed in Bank Of America for this bs! It is unnecessary and completely avoidable! Bank Of America has ALL of our information and it was not even conveyed to CM! They have 3rd party representatives going to the property address like we have abandoned our home! Unacceptable and we will be refinancing with a reputable bank!!! NEVER DOING BUSINESS WITH THEM OR BANK OF AMERICA AGAIN!!! 0 stars!!!

I am on the phone for the fifth time. NOTE: YOUR personal information may be faxed to someone without your knowledge and permission. I have seen personal information for three people so far, including phone numbers, account numbers, names, addresses, etc. This is unacceptable. Carrington bought our loan from Bank of America last year. I pay my mortgage EVERY month and without missing 1 single payment since 2001 but pay when we receive our social security check every 3rd Wednesday of every month. Because I pay after the 1st when the mortgage is due, I’ve accrued late fees monthly now amounting to $2050.00 since Carrington took over. I also received a “Notice of intent to Foreclosure” with options for apply for a Loan modification, mortgage assistance, decide for short sale or Foreclose. Of course at our age, 78 and my wife 77, we applied for mortgage assistance in hopes to stay in our home.
Wrote a hardship letter and sent all the necessary information they requested with proof of our food financial issues and today we receive their response denying our mortgage assistance request and telling us our ONLY option is to “Liquidate our home” as if it were that simple to just give up and walk away from the only roof over our heads and the years we’ve invested in this home. We’ve worked so hard to keep this home. My wife and I have put a lot of love into this home to have this greedy and heartless company force us to just walk away from the only thing we own. UNREAL!!!

Carrington purchased my mortgage from CitiMortgage several years ago. CitiMortgage allowed us to make bimonthly payments as well as pay extra on the principle so that we could pay off the mortgage early. Carrington refused to let us do the same. I was told that they didn't have the capability. In the years that Carrington had our mortgage, even though we had a few financial difficulties, we never missed a payment (although a payment may be a day or two late due to their wonderful computer system). They also charged us fees when the mortgage was late and it was their fault (usually because their computer system was down).
When it came time to pay off the mortgage I was asked if I wanted to net the escrow. Since our escrow was only slightly more than our principle I said yes. The first payoff notice I received did not net the escrow. I was then told that I had to do it online and that I could not make the request over the phone. Why did they even bother to ask if I couldn't make the request over the phone? The payoff notice that was received after I made the request online did not net the escrow either. I was then told that I had to make the request in writing. My third attempt at a payoff notice came back with the escrow netted; however, they added on all kinds of fees. They also kept telling me that if I didn't want to pay extra interest that I could pay the fees and if they were reduced that they would send me the difference. Fat chance, I did not trust them to send me the difference.
After getting a lawyer involved, three more attempts, and a total of two months, I finally received the correct payoff notice. They stretched out the whole process as long as they possibly could so that they could squeeze every last nickel and dime out of us. We were paying off our mortgage five months early and they tried to bleed us dry because of that. If Carrington ever purchases your mortgage from another company I advise you to refinance with a reputable company so that you do not have to deal with Carrington Mortgage.

This company is a joke. Due to loss of job we fell behind on our payment. During this time we had water damage to our kitchen cabinets and had to file ins. claim. Insurance company sent the check and we contacted Carrington our the insurance claim. They stated since the mortgage was delinquent that OUR MONEY would be monitored (BS). Spoke with several CSR and they stated for the claim not to be monitored and not to have a licensed contractor. We will need to pay the past due balance. We did exactly that after verifying the loan was current. We were informed they would endorse the check and send back to us.
The day we emailed everything over and verified it was received they stated they would still be monitoring the claim and we had to have a license contractor for something we could fix on our own. They are complete liars and very rude and after checking online we notice our mortgage payments has increased with no explanation. Our kitchen still isn't fixed going on two months now. I'm so over this crooked company. Attorney general is my stop.

I would not do business with this mortgage company. They are horrible. I take this type of action as harassment and attempting to intimidate the customers if you are 30 to 60 days delinquent. I have worked in the mortgage industry and we didn't send Notice of Intent letter until the customer are 90 days delinquent. Carrington Mortgage preys upon those who have lower credit scores, they will try to take advantage of you especially if you appear to be desperate. I was one of those desperate people, around 2 weeks ago, I applied to get a loan with them and when I sent the paperwork to be looked at by a real estate lawyer he told me to run. I have a VA. They wanted to put me in a FHA with an interest rate of almost 12% for 30 years.
I only have 13 years left on my house, when I calculated the price up I would have paid over $333,000 for a house whose value is around $115,000. Therefore, I decided to tell the loan officer I was no longer interested. They still gave my number to an appraiser who tried to schedule an appointment and I told the appraiser I was no longer interested. Ever since I told this company I am no longer interested they have continued to pull my credit, which has caused my scores to go down 30 points. If you have poor or bad credit stay away from this company. They will make your situation worse than it is.

Carrington Mortgage bought my mortgage from Bank of America in Feb 2018. When I went to pay my first payment with Carrington, they didn't even have an account number for me. They said to put my BOA account number on my check. I had to mail a check because they did not have my account online. When I finally was assigned an account number and went to make my next payment online, they charge a $5.00 fee to pay your mortgage online. They charge a fee for every kind of way to make your payment unless you send a check to them or have auto draft. I signed up for auto draft for the next payment. She I scheduled the next payment, my normal monthly payment showed what I had been paying for over a year.
Since this was my first auto draft, I checked my mortgage account a few days before it was to be taken out of my bank account and the monthly fee was $60.00 higher than what I had posted for and taken out of my bank account. I called Carrington and was told they decided they wanted a certain amount of back up equity and since it wasn't there they decided to increase my loan monthly charge by $60l00 a month. I never got a notice about this. I was signed up for email notices. So I cancelled auto draft and told them I was going to refinance my loan with a mortgage company I could trust and actually feel comfortable with. I spoke with a local mortgage company and was able to refinance my loan and get away from Carrington.
My loan was paid off on May 29, 2018 with Carrington. They still owed me my escrow balance of $1,458.67. Since I never trusted this incompetent mortgage company, I checked every day to make sure they showed my loan as paid and what my escrow balance was. I emailed it all to me and my husband. So today June 11, 2018, I checked my escrow balance and it was lowered by $45.74. I did an internet chat with one of their people and was told I was charged out of the escrow they owed me for HUD insurance that was for 6/05/18. They said it is a legal charge. So how can it be a legal charge for a loan that has no balance???
They lie and screw you over every chance they get. BELIEVE the bad reviews!!! I have experienced a lot of the same things. We asked May 30, 2018 when we could expect our escrow check and was told within 15 days which we gave only business days (should be this week?). So I told the chat lady that our check should have already been mailed, she said, "No. We have 15 days to mail it to you." So with only business days included they don't have to mail our check until June 19, 2018. PEOPLE DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE CROOKS!!! If you can get out and stay away from them!!!

In March I received an email that my mortgage went up $500 because they miscalculated my escrow last year. Even after running my analysis several time they kept telling me that I came short of the property tax. Apparently, they used my 2016 prorated rate for my 2017 property tax, which they had to add the difference they paid in 2018 escrow.
However, they told me that the shortage was 3,414 because my property tax came to be 4,497 which is inaccurate. Kept telling them that my 2017 taxes are exactly the same as my 2018. They told me I had to get supporting documents from the city to prove my property tax. I was able to obtain these documents in 30 min, but it's annoying that I am doing their job once again. At this point I feel that they are committing fraud by charging me $1000 more than what I owe.

Not the best mortgage company in terms of helpfulness of their staff. My mortgage was sold to Carrington Mortgage in 2016. The first issue we had with them was that no one from Carrington told us that they do not use our escrow money to pay our HOA bill. Bank of America did this, and we were told by Carrington that nothing in terms of payment amounts, escrow, etc. would change. We were then hit with a late fee from our HOA company because Carrington did not use our escrow money for it. When I asked Carrington to reimburse me my late fee, the associate said Bank of America would need to that because they misinformed me. This is completely incorrect, I was hit with a late fee because Carrington did not communicate this.
Another issue I've had with Carrington is the absolute nightmare I have had trying to setup auto payments. I set up auto payments with my old bank account over the phone, and then shut them down because I switched banks. When I called to do this, I was told that they couldn't set up auto payments with the new account because it would take 3 business days to complete the shut down of the old account. I went online to set them up, but the confirm letter I received after doing this was for a much higher amount than I entered on the online form. I never agreed to pay that amount, I know for a fact I entered my mortgage amount.
After canceling that, I tried to call back to set up auto payments for the correct amount with my current bank and was told that there was no way they could set up auto payments over the phone, even though I am certain I did this previously with my old account. I was told that since I did not want to do the online form, I would have to get a form in the mail, complete it and fax it back. Auto payments would then take another month to process. They make the auto payment process so difficult because they charge a $5 convenience fee to make a one time mortgage payment online, and they are attempting to get as many of those out of me as possible. I am so dissatisfied with Carrington Mortgage because their customer service is abysmal!!

Bank of America sold my mortgage to this less than competent company back in 2017. They messed my escrow account up and have me paying an additional $140 a month. I called to have them fix this and to see if they would take a partial, smaller, payment at the old rate BoA had. They said their systems weren't set up to accept partial payments. BS, I find it hard to believe that a company of this size does not have that capability. That being said, we are now 30 days into the initial phone call about their error and still have no resolution.

Ed from Las Vegas is exactly right with his review. They will not allow you to make early payments or additional payments to pay your mortgage earlier. They will only delay and stall you until you just quit and they take more of your money. Carrington bought my mortgage from Chase and I have no choice but to get ripped off by them. I haven't had my home long enough to have enough equity to get refinanced so I'm literally stuck with these vampires. Tomorrow I'm calling the attorney general in my state to file a complaint. STAY AWAY FROM CARRINGTON MORTGAGE AT ALL COSTS! They will bleed you for as long as they can and the customer service is equally as bad.

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. GET AWAY FROM THEM AS SOON AS YOU CAN. They will charge you fees, update their computer system slowly so that there is no accurate response and will not allow you to get your mortgage paid down early then make every excuse as to why their systems are not updating properly. These people do not care about you. They will pretend not to receive your payment and will attempt to foreclose on your property. My loan was sold by Bank of America to Carrington Mortgage Services 3 years ago (they were almost just as bad). If you can find a new lender who treats you with respect, I highly recommend you jump ship as soon as you can. These people are in the business of making money by any means necessary. Even if that means kicking you to the street. They are not to be trusted!
Updated on [05/04/2018]: While on the phone with Carrington, for the 4th time today... they straight hung up on me. BTW... now they say extra payments I have made (which I want to go to principal) will be applied to future monthly payments. What normal thinking individual wants to put extra money on monthly payments and not the principal to make future payments more effective? Their system booted me off at 5 pm exactly while speaking to a customer representative! Did they call back? Not a chance. Tell me, "Is this the kind of company you want representing one of your largest assets?"

I bought my home in 2008 and the loan was transferred a few times until it got to Bank of America. My payments were on time and current. I requested to go through HARP to lower my monthly payments due to a change of income and was able to do so. However they would only lower the payment a minimum amount and tell you to apply again and they will lower it again. I had to do this process two times until they lowered it to a more affordable payment; therefore a total of 6 payments were supposed to be put at the "end of the loan." Now B of A. employed Carrington Mortgage Services to service the loan; receive payments; address concerns etc... And they have put all 9 required payments back into the loan and are in the process of foreclosure stating "WE determine when it's the end of your loan and you either pay the "forgiveness missed payments" or we will foreclose."
UPDATE ON 06/30/2018: Due to their dishonesty and putting the required HARP missed payments for refinancing back into the current loan (as they were to be put at the END OF THE TERM OF YOUR LOAN) I recognized I needed to sell my home as they attempted to foreclose on my home. Once they were contacted by my realtor they hurried up and started foreclosure procedures so I could not receive the full amount I would receive from the sale of my home. THEY ARE THIEVES!!! Therefore if they have received all missed payments, my loan was brought current; therefore they can't foreclose but they indicate they are still going to foreclose. Why???

Carrington Mortgage Service purchased my account from Bank of America in June 2017 without notice. I was in the middle of a modification with BOA when Carrington was sending me statements. At the same time BOA was responding to my paperwork and sending me more paperwork to fill out. Finally started dealing with Carrington in August and applying for a modification. In the process I get served with foreclosure papers. I call the law firm and Carrington to find out what the deal is?? They said I was missing paperwork, so they decided to foreclose. In the end I was not missing paperwork, I email all of my paperwork to them, because unlike other mortgage companies, they're too cheap to use FedEx... I live in Maryland, they're in California.
Since August it has been nothing but a headache! They not only filed for foreclosure in 1 county which is on public record, but they filed a foreclosure in a county I don’t even live in, which is now on public record, since then they withdrew. They are not willing or able to service anyone’s account. They're just filing foreclosures on people. I have contacted a forensic audit lawyer to go over the BOA loan, that I truly think is illegal from 2008. I also will be filing a motion against the law firm and Carrington mortgage for violating my rights on their foreclosure paperwork. Since this time my mortgage payments have increased a total of $80.00 per month and it is only March. The Carrington representative stated my escrow had to be increased because Carrington requires a higher balance in my escrow account and for the first time ever my escrow balance was -$31.71, my escrow has never been in the negative.
I also set up an auto payment plan at the beginning of March 2018 that was suppose to have started with our 01 April 2018 payment process only to be informed by the Carrington representative the request did not get processed until 27 March 2018 and our April payment will not be automatically paid, we have always been paid one month ahead of our payments, however, we were told we can make the payment manually online to stay one month in advance. While recognizing there was an error on their part, (I paid the printed amount on the printed bill as I have for 10 years) and my payment was accepted and cleared the bank within days, they won't process the payment until their 'revised' amount is paid by me. A 'disputed charge' takes 30 days to process, putting me in the time frame to be marked as 'delinquent', while the error was entirely their fault and all my paperwork is consistent with the amount sent and processed by my bank and on time. I have a loan through this company for my home. After thousands of dollars for a attorney to bar my trespassing, property damaging neighbor from my property and the sheriff department not enforcing the restraining order and the prosecutor not prosecuting the neighbor I requested mortgage assistance. From July 2017 through December 2017. Numerous times I sent the same information filled out exact as they wanted, submitted all documents on more than one occasion, mailed priority mail, confirmed delivery, so I know they received them. I got letters saying they received everything, then said they didn't receive. I would send again, they would send letters saying they have everything, I would get a offer in 20 days. The same thing for 7 months.
In November 2018 I got notice. They sold the loan in the middle of this. Saying they sold my loan Chase, never had gotten anything from Chase on the loan or mortgage assistance requested. One of the two sent a subcontractor to leave a note on my door. It was found in the driveway 2 day from the stated delivery date. I mailed all information on the case. Police reports. Expenses. Etc. Then without proper legal notice to move, they hired a servicer to break into my home, change locks which I called law and made a report and they left my bathroom water on and damaged a exterior door bad enough it wouldn't lock, so the door was open when I checked the house. Yes lock me out with door unsecured. I called the servicer and left two messages, one about the bathroom water, the other the door was wide open and.the damages found on the premises. Screens, tampered windows. Etc. I took pictures and cleaned up the mess.
The house has not been foreclosed, I haven't received legal notice to vacate and the deed is in my name. Still requires me to cut grass and pay insurance and taxes. One might have thought they would have followed federal law and the mortgage assistance, sued the nutty neighbor for damages on this said property first before illegally breaking into my home, attempting to lock me out creating more damages. Plus no trespasses sign and purple paint are on the property. All again illegal and unlawful. I will be happy to join any class action lawsuits regarding Carrington Mortgage.
Updated on 05/03/2018: So when Carrington failed to process and offer assistance, they completed the foreclosure, I was locked out of my home by the mortgage service company. JP Morgan stated they bought the loan on the auction of my home, which is untrue as Carrington had already listed them as a switch in mortgage at the end of 2017. Of Course they denied anything on the phone and was kind enough to have their attorney Martin ** write a demand letter for their property on 4-24-2018, not allowing it for mail time which I received on 4-28-2018, called the attorney office and request approximately an additional month to move, faxed the information and priority mail confirmed delivery all reports I had sent to Carrington, the response was no more than, "I will forward all information you send to my client, however by the letter you have until May 8th 2018 to get out or I will do whatever the client wants (Jp Morgan)."
I explained I was not afforded the opportunity to do a modification or request assistance from JP Morgan that I had started with Carrington, there was no response and no time was granted as requested. Both CMS and JP Morgan nor their attorney ** (office Kansas City MO) could even tell me where to leave the keys to prevent any additional break in damages as they had already created in March 2018. This unethical banking practice has left me no choice but to leave my home and file bankruptcy.

My mom is 86 and a widow and I (her son) am helping her get through this mess of a company. To start, her former servicer, CitiFinancial sold the account to Carrington Mortgage Services. They charge her for insurance that she already has and proved by her insurance company but Carrington denies it, will not send her a paper statement because my mother and father had a bankruptcy in 2005 that cleared and closed. They put her on hold from June 2017 till February 2018 because they were trying to get the system updated with all the new incoming transfers of purchased loans, which was verified by telephone with myself, my mother and the Carrington customer service. They also stated since I viewed that nothing was due until Feb 4, 2018 and what was due then would be a payment of $84 then the following month would be her regular payment of $413. I also screenshot the account page showing Feb 4, 2018 amount due of $84.
We called in just before the payment was due of 84 bucks and was then told, "You have to pay $84 + the regular payment". I informed them of our earlier call and what was discussed and was told it didn't matter and what she just told us, was the amount due. So instead of arguing anymore and getting nothing accomplished, told them to have a good day, hung up and discussed with my mother to just pay and we would see what next month would be like.
It was a surprise. They wanted $1374 now, said it was interest. So we had another discussion with them about the amount. They said it was owed from former carrier. Informed the customer service rep that she was up to date and had no problems with the former carrier and to send proof of the interest owed and it would be paid if owed. Still waiting. The regular monthly payment was paid. This company needs to get itself together and do business properly, legally, ethically instead of trying to confuse our senior citizens.

In September ever local roofer told me the could not even get an estimate till January and I had relay all this information to Carrington. Still every two week I would get a letter from them and a phone call saying I had not contacted them or turn in my paperwork. I had called after every letter and returned every call and they always updated my information because they said they could not get a hold of me.
Finally I got a few estimates and pick a roofer and again Carrington called before I got a contract and they said because it was under 15k it would not have to be monitored and did not need the packet only the estimate from State Farm. So I mail that all in and they sent it back unsigned saying I needed to fill out the packet they sent. I had to put half down out of my pocket to get the roof contract started and had them fill out their part of packet and remain it all back in. Now still unsigned they don’t like that my contract is more than State Farm paid because I upgraded to metal standing seam 150 mph rated roof. Now I’m told I got to write letter saying I’m paying the difference. Like who else would be paying!!!
State Farm was happy with the contract and sent me 2nd check and said would give me a discount rate for the upgrade. Now the roof should be started soon and I will more than likely have to pay the second half of my roof out of pocket again and Carrington still has not signed either check. Soon will be 11.5k out of my pocket and they still will not sign the 7k worth of checks that rightfully mine anyway. What a joke of a company and they a making my disaster a bigger nightmare too. Avoid this company at all costs. When we applied for a mortgage, they were the only ones that took a chance on us because of a bankruptcy and the complicated 203k loan we required. However, during the process they lost paperwork, were late for deadlines, our agent had to constantly correct their mistakes. Once the loan finally went thru, they raised our monthly payment because of an escrow shortage (something they should have accounted for from the beginning, there should have been a better safeguard that's what an escrow cushion is for).
They told us after 12 months our house payment should go back down to the original but 12 months later they tried another $80 because of another escrow shortage, they said we could pay the shortage outright which would bring our payment back down which is what we did (it better work), but even then, if we pay the exact amount the escrow increased, our monthly payment should go back down to the original, right?
Unless there's a fee they're charging to keep our money in escrow... their fees are ridiculous. $5 to simply pay your bill online, $10 over the phone, $20 with a customer rep. Plus they lie. They said they are required by law to charge $20 to pay over the phone, but I called back and the second person I talk to waived the $20 fee. Many other things, we'll be going thru someone else as soon as we can.

Our mortgage was taken over from Bank of America to Carrington Mortgage. I must say that we did NOT request a change in mortgage service. We got the information from Carrington and immediately set up online automatic debits for our monthly payment. My husband also spoke with a representative at Carrington who ASSURED us that it'd be a simple process. After about a month into the new mortgage service, we started getting calls about our payment being late. We explained that it CAN'T be late, that we see on our bank statement that it is in fact being debited automatically. We wrote letters, emails, faxes, phone calls, etc. All to no avail. Now they have turned us into the credit bureau and my husband and I both lost 100 POINTS on our credit score as a result of their mistake. I would not recommend Carrington to anyone!!! They have ruined our credit as a result of THEIR screw up.

I would first like to start by saying I used to have a credit score of 788 and had never missed a payment in my life! My score dropped to a 639 after Carrington screw myself and my husband over. I made the mistake for trying to pay my mortgage in 2 separate payments, about 2 weeks early. When doing this I didn't realize that the payments I thought I made to our statement balance were actually going direct to principal and not to our statement balance like I thought. This happened for 2 months without me realizing what was happening or being informed by Carrington about what was going on. Because I made this mistake and thought I had made the payments, our account was actually showing that I had missed 2 payments even though I technically had paid them and early!!! I only realized what had happened when my husband and I decided to refinance with a different company.
When I called Carrington to correct what had happened and fix my credit score they were terrible!!! Even though they understood what had happened, they still had me submit all of my documentation to a department that you can't actually speak with. It took more than 30 days to even get a response and the response I got was "oh well." I don't know how a company, who does business the way they do, is allowed to still function. There are so many negative reviews about them on the internet and their own website but nothing seems to be getting taken care of.
I know that there is really nothing I can do except speak what happened to myself and my family. I hope that anyone who is thinking about doing business with Carrington really look into reviews first! Also, anyone whose loan is sold to them, please try and learn from other people's mistakes and get as far away from this company as quickly as you can. They don't care about you, your family or how they negatively impact your life. They deserve to go under and I will pray that happens until the day I hear it has.

Several months ago, I received notice that my mortgage had been sold to Carrington. It said it might take a while to get payment notices. I paid it anyway being a bit suspicious of ANY mortgage co. So today I called and was told that because I had had a past bankruptcy (12 years ago), the law didn't allow them to send me a payment request. Strange, my old company had no problem sending me requests. Now I'm required to send them a written request to them to get a monthly reminder. Oh, and they boosted my payment by $50, after saying my payment would remain the same. Watch out for these guys, don't trust them at all!

I was transferred from BOA. My first payment to CMS was 11.16.17 so I registered online to pay. After a week I notice it hasn't been taking from my account so I tried to sent it again thinking it was a glitch. After three days I received a letter saying NSF (insufficient funds) so I called them. They told me I chose savings to have the funds removed from. The default setting is checking. My funds are in checking when I was with BOA. It was coming from checking so I know I wouldnt have changed it to savings. They cause my bank to hit me with $140 in overdraft fees cause for both of my entries they tried four times. On the second try I did copy the confirmation page it clearly says checking. Then on top of that they started the whole process of coming by to see if the property is abandoned then they still charged for check returned as they say.
They also kicked me out the system so I couldn't pay online. They said use WU or send cashier's check. WU tried to charge me $123 to sent $1410. My only off day is Sunday so I had to take off to get the money and send it but I'm still kicked out the system. That's the dumbest thing I ever heard. How you gone want your money but figured it's best to make it harder to pay you. That's just plain **. The only thing good about all this is they give you a 60 day grace with no late fees and no bad credit reports on me being transferred. Just think if they did that and I didnt have a grace then they can get more money and my bank would get more money while the Customer gets screwed. I'm paid up but still have to wait six months to get back in the system to pay online. That's why they get two stars.

Carrington MS only has one way where they can accept additional principal and that is through a specific PO Box with a check that is noted "Principal". I make my usual payment through my bank. Back in June, regardless of using this method, I found that I was paid out through October and I asked to have that reversed and added to principal. Well, they reversed out my June payment as well, slapped me with a late fee and hit both my credit and my husband's credit. I found out through a credit monitoring service, not Carrington. It took them three months to resolve and get me a notice saying that the bad mark on my credit had been reversed.

Late November I called them again, I was paid through February. Despite using their suggested PO Box method to overpay my mortgage. I had everything reversed, my December payment hit on December 1st. December 23rd I received a letter detailing that my December payment had not been made, that I was getting hit with a late fee, and that this might affect my credit. Also, threats of foreclosure and offers to see if I qualified for their foreclosure service. I wrote an email to their consumer complaints department because Carrington is closed on Saturday and Sunday. on 12/28 I called to follow up. I explained the situation, that this had happened again and the representative "Reggie" let me know that it was being taken care of. He could not verify if that was in response to my email, but it must be because I have not contacted them otherwise due to Christmas and weekends.
I asked for a letter that my credit and my husband's credit would not be affected. Reggie said that I would get notice of the outcome once it was processed. I repeated my request, emphasizing that they'd messed this up before. He repeated his answer. Around and around we went until I finally said, "Please put a note in my file that I want a letter saying that this will not hit my credit or my husband's credit." He said "ok" and literally a second later asked me if there is anything else he could do for me - no typing in the background. I am also one of the Bank of America sell-out clients. I will not pay thousands of dollars to refinance at this point in my mortgage but I pray that it's sold again very soon. What is one more bad review to this company? Unfortunately it is all I can do at this point.

I was sold from BOA to Carrington. Having gone through the loss of my Soldier husband in Afghanistan. It took a little time to get my benefits and Insurance, I was in the arrears and filed a chapter 13 to save my house as family attorney suggested. At the time I had the arrears payments minus $500, BOA stated “too bad, so sad”. I begged and pleaded with them. Yes, they placed it in Foreclosure. While I was in Bankruptcy I made my monthly payments until the bankruptcy was discharged. First I ever received from C.M. was an intent to foreclose, I called and asked for a 30-60 day extension and I would pay the last an in full... Guess they hear that daily from the clients...
However I am sincere and serious. Because of the fact they filed the foreclosure, I had to once again pay an attorney to file another bankruptcy so there was a stay... I called sooo much, first they could not find my account, then the wait hold was 20 minutes for the bankruptcy Dept AND THE CLERK I was told they will call the next business day. HAHAHA RIGHT. IS IT SO HARD TO COMPREHEND I WANT TO PAY OFF THE MORTGAGE. BOA has some seriously bogus fees that they tacked on, I have been disputing them for 6 years with no avail. They also stated that a payoff was mailed to me, wow is it coming from the Antarctic.

Our mortgage was sold from BOA to Carrington in March 2017. During this time we were in debt consolidation due to BOA not working with us! Our debt consolidation was over July 21st 2017. We were discharged Carrington signed off on the debt said it was paid in full. Never have received a bill or monthly statement. Called Carrington and told them I want to make September’s payment and they told me that they couldn’t accept it because we owed March thru at that time was August. I said we were in debt consolidation you had gotten the money that was owed. I was told to pay my bills and this wouldn’t happen to me. Called numerous times. Got a different story every time I called. In September I had signed for a package from Carrington. It was a letter to intent to foreclose on our house. I called Carrington. Told them this is wrong and not right. They gave me a foreclosure date of October 24th 2017.
I told Carrington they needed to review of our total account and that they needed to make the correct changes to our account… I was told that takes 30 days. They got the letter and mortgage payment for Sept and Oct 2017 on Oct 5th. They never put it into the system until October 18th so that gave them until November 18th 2017. During that time we hired a lawyer because Carrington was breaking the law of a bankruptcy. YOU CAN NOT COME AFTER SOMEONE FOR A PAST DEBT AFTER THEY WERE DISCHARGED FROM BANKRUPTCY. DURING THIS TIME OUR BILL WENT FROM 3 grand to 9 grand in a matter of 3 months. Our attorney said they broke several laws and that there are in contempt of the bankruptcy court. The week of November 18th 2017 we received a letter from Carrington mortgage stating they needed more time to complete their review, they wanted another 15 days to review our records.
In the meantime our attorney had sent a letter to Carrington and the bankruptcy courts and to Carrington Mortgages attorney. Our attorney had our mortgage payments. He sent them to the Carrington Mortgage and they cashed the check. December 6th 2017 we get a package from Carrington, my heart sank. I sat on my couch for 30 minutes before I opened it, it stated that they were sorry and that they had screwed up that it was gonna take time to correct the changes. In the meantime Carrington reported we were over 120 days past due on our mortgage to the credit bureaus (4 of them to be exact) and that it could take 60 to 90 days for that to be fixed. So we tried to call in December’s mortgage payment and I can’t call in our mortgage payment because I’m not on my fiancé bank account.
I was told to have him call in to make a payment, by the time he gets out of work they are closed and I was told he had to continue to speak with the bankruptcy department because they have not done the paperwork to close out our bankruptcy, THEY HAVE HAD THE PAPERS SINCE AUGUST… We cannot pay our mortgage online until they close out our bankruptcy. My fiancé is hearing impaired but not to the point he needs the hearing impaired line but by the time he gets out of work they are closed, if we mail it in it will be late. What do you do? I have no choice but to mail my mortgage payment in at this point. This is all still being straightened out at this time…
My experience with Carrington is not good. I have been cursed and told to pay bills, hung up on multiple times during the time they have had our mortgage. My fiancé and are still deciding if we are gonna try and have Carrington pay our attorney fees etc. for this huge mess that was their fault and didn’t want to their job and look at all the proof that they’ve had and that we’ve sent in to them. I do not recommend this company

The next month I made the payment before the overdue date yet got a call early in the morning 4 days later. I had just checked my checking account and it had already cleared. The woman said that she would need to check their computers and hung up. This month I made an online payment on the first of the month. On the 2nd I got a call at 7 am wanting to know when I would be making the payment. These people are making me nuts.
The original loan was for 20 years. I am down to the last 25 payments. I will be paying them off this month just to be done with them. That is if they will give me the payoff amount. They seem to want to do a 3 way call with my credit union, the credit reporting agency and myself. On top of that they charge $5 for each payment unless you write them a check or send a money order. Who has checks, I usually pay on a company's website-$5 charge. I never agreed to that charge when I signed the original contract. Apparently payments through their site go through Western Union.
I have a good credit rating and object to their stupid calls just because I won't use their site and have my bank draft them a check each month. This outfit acts like it is a collection agency with calls every month and too stupid to check their computers to see if a check has already cleared. If you can get a loan anywhere else take it. I have never been late with a payment and don't need their monthly calls.

I contacted customer service and told them I was unable to make a full payment, they reassured me that it would be ok and that I could do a repayment where they would break that 1 month payment up over the next 3 months. The following month I called in to make a payment but to later find out that the amount I paid was not the correct amount. SO now I had someone call me and tell me that my account is 60 days past due and the last 2 payments that I made were not applied to my account instead they are sitting in an escrow until the total amount due is paid in full.
Now it's been 2 months that I have been going round and round with them. I call yesterday to make a $1200 payment to what I thought was going to catch me up but now they refused to take my $1200 payment and said I now owe over $1700 from all the fees my account has accrued. I would of never had these fees if they would of just applied the 2 previous payments and not have them sitting in an escrow fund. I don't know how it is legal for them to refuse to accept a payment or have funds sitting there now being applied to my account. In March of 2017 I was approved for loan mod with Bank of America. We had been through ringer with them. They had set our house to be sold on 1 November 2016. We started a chapter 13 bankruptcy as the only means we had to block the sale of our house. We had previously attempted to do a loan mod to make everything right with our Mortgage. My wife and I both had become disabled since we bought the house. They finally approved the loan mod in March. I told my lawyer we could forgo the 13 because we no longer needed to do it because the loan mod was now in place. So in May we converted a chapter 7. In April our loan was transferred to Carrington. In early May our homeowners put a lien on our house for approximately $2000 because they did not want it discharged under the 7. Carrington wrote me and told me there was an issue with the title and that our loan mod could be in jeopardy.
I worked out a payment plan with the HOA to get the lien lifted in October, and wrote Carrington to see if the plan would suffice to remedy the title issue. They did not respond to calls or emails. The last part of June Carrington sent me a letter stating that my loan mod had been revoked and I was reverting back to the previous mortgage. Because of the lien. I got the lien lifted and wrote and called Carrington and ask them to reinstate the loan mod. They told me all I could do is reapply for the loan mod. What started out as a $3000 problem had grown into a $31000 problem and once they found out that our chapter 7 was discharged they once again started the process of coming after our house.
They made no attempt with me to help clear up the situation with the lien. They never gave me any dates stating if I did not have it resolved they would revoke the loan mod. I asked many times to speak to a manager or person in high authority to resolve the situation and they would not let. I once again had refile 13 to protect us from Carrington taking my house. I believe their only interest is to take our house and not to honor a contract that was made for the loan mod in good faith that I made all the payments on time. This is very evil and it seems like this is how they do business. They should be ashamed of themselves. People work long and hard to buy their homes, to take person house of a small sum of $2000 is woeful. With no effort let the person remedy the situation. I spent 29 years in the Military so I could buy this house and now they are trying to take it.

I told the service rep I'm not paying Carrington $20 to take money from me and that I'd send a bill paycheck for the remainder. However, the rep then told me it takes up to 15 business days for them to reverse the error payment. That means I'll probably still be hit with a $35-$40 late fee because they didn't have the entire amount coded in THEIR systems in time!!! I've had nothing but headaches since my mortgage changed from Chase to Carrington. I hate this company and wish to God I could go back to Chase!!!

My husband is in the army and we decided we would put some feelers out to see if we were at a point yet with our credit that we could buy a home here in Colorado. PCS Partners put me in contact with Carrington Mortgage LLC since they are a company that works with people with lower credit scores. Right off the bat I mentioned that my husband's student loans were currently being disputed with the department of education and asked if that would be a problem... Carrington said, "No problem. We can definitely work around that." They gave us a preapproval and we started the process of buying a home, put offer in, went under contract, paid for inspections and 1 week before closing we were informed that their underwriter would not let us proceed due to the school loan situation. All along the way I was checking in with them and kept being told everything was looking great and going smoothly... Then BAM...
They wouldn't follow through with our loan. But what really grinds my gears is the fact that when our realtor called them out on this whole situation they had the audacity to say that I had not mentioned the school loan situation prior to even receiving the preapproval in order to cover their butts. From what I have heard this is a common thing happening over and over with them. They need to be held accountable for their actions. If they can't finance someone they should just say, "Hey that's not something we can do." But in the end we dodged a bullet and I am so happy we found a better lender! Shame on you Carrington Mortgage for being dishonest and treating military members like chopped liver.

My loan was transferred to Carrington from BOA and I've tried contacting them since July 10th, trying to make payments but they could not accept them. First of all when I tried to make payments to Bank of America they would not accept them because the loan had been transferred. The second excuse when trying to make a payment was, I could only speak to the Bankruptcy Dept. The third excuse when trying to make a payment was they were short staffed, so I was unable to speak to anyone from the Bankruptcy Dept for several weeks. Fourth excuse I could not make a payment, my account was still in processing because Bank Of America had not sent all the information. I was finally able to make 3 payments in August and I was told that BOA had not sent the previous payments to Carrington.
I called Carrington on the Sept 19th and Bank of America had not sent the payments that were made to them since the beginning of 2017. Just received a call from my bankruptcy attorney telling me that the creditor for my mortgage had not received a payment and I HAD TO SEND MY PAYMENT HISTORY FROM MY BANK for the 3 months I paid. This seems to be a pattern with BOA and Carrington.

I called Carrington Mortgage today, Friday, Sept. 1st at 2:45 pm CST to make a payment on my loan. I was transferred from customer service to the bankruptcy department. Our loan is part of a pending bankruptcy, so this department is the only one who can take payments over the phone. They do not allow payments on their web site for people in bankruptcy. The customer service agent came back on the line to tell me that everyone in the bankruptcy department had been sent home early for the holiday weekend, so there was no one available to take my payment today... Excuse Me??? Their web site clearly states their business hours are M-F, 9 am to 6 pm EST. There is no mention on their website stating departments would be closing early for the holiday. I asked to speak with a supervisor who verified there was no one available to take my payment.
She could not understand why I was so upset because I could clearly call back and make the payment on Tuesday of next week. Yes, this is a true statement, but my payment is due on the 1st of each month. You can bet if my payment was late, these idiots would be blowing up my phone trying to get their money! She told me the President of the company, who I assume is Ray Brousseau, dismissed the bankruptcy staff early. This guy must be brilliant! How do you operate a business by letting all your staff, who have a responsibility to service customers, leave for a holiday weekend? Shouldn't you require at least one person to stay and run your business?
Believe me, I am not a heartless witch. I am a department manager and I usually let my staff leave early on holiday weekends, but that means either I am here until closing, or a staff member stays. How is this any different than me going to the bank and they sent all the tellers home early on a holiday weekend and the only people present are loan officers who can't take my deposit or cash my paycheck? The sooner I can re-finance my loan with another lender the better!

Eventually I was able to continue with my loan modification but was told I was not eligible because I don't meet the seasoning requirement. The reason given was that my loan had to be at least 12 months and I should have made up to 4 payments. My loan is 7 years old and I have made payments during this time. We have been dealing with Carrington Mortgage for 3 years now, and have had nothing but frustration and difficulty with them. Like others leaving reviews on this site regarding their experiences, we too have been denied mortgage assistance every time we have applied. They also have misplaced documents we sent, and they continually required more documents, thereby delaying the RMA process. They gave us the totally wrong information regarding whether or not we could do a short sale on our house.
We also applied for a Deed-In-Lieu, and now they have come up with an excuse to deny us that action. They raised our monthly mortgage payment (they claim it was due to the status of our Escrow account) so that we are no longer able to pay our mortgage. My husband and I are in our 60s and are unable to secure sufficient employment to make the payments anymore. We tried 3 times to secure mortgage assistance, but were denied each time. We tried handing over the property to them via D.I.L., but they would not accept it; they came up with yet another excuse to deny us assistance.
We have been trying to do the best responsible thing we can do at this point, but to no avail. It looks like they are determined to force us into a foreclosure. Our NY State HUD counselor is suggesting we file a complaint with the Feds and State. My husband and I are ready to join in on a class action lawsuit with others against Carrington; how do we all go about it? We have had it with this mortgage company.

Carrington is a horrible company to do business with. B of A sold my loan to them, and as much as I disliked B of A, Carrington Mortgage Services is worse. They raised my escrow in November 2016, and again in April 2017. My mortgage is now over $200 more than it was when it was with B of A. They cite increasing insurance and taxes as the reason. Since it was relatively stable under B of A, I don't understand how it could have jumped that much. Additionally, I really thought they could only change the escrow once a year. I very much expect there will be a lawsuit over this eventually. I, too, have tried to refinance, but due to the rising mortgage and missing the date of the changing escrow, I now have a black mark on my credit and have to wait a year to do anything about this. I highly recommend NOT doing business with Carrington Mortgage Services.

Not very promising. Anyway, I Googled for reviews about this company and that led me here. After reading 6 pages of reviews, I'm dead set convinced every 5 rating is a bought and paid for rating. There cannot be extreme positive and extreme negative reviews with nothing in between. Most of the negative reviews are detailed while the positive are a love fest with no details whatsoever. This is against federal law and they know it.
When I try to get it fixed I get nothing more than run around and the reps won't connect me with the proper office personnel. My selling agent isn't allowed to deal with my account. I asked if I could just have the payment sent from my bank and the rep said yes, that is considered certified. So I did and the money was received by Carrington on the 27th. I then set up bill pay thru my bank to have them send my payment directly to Carrington for this month. Carrington received my payment 7/12 and that money was also taken from my bank acct.
Yesterday, 7/13, I received numerous letters from Carrington with their "intent of foreclosure". I called and was told both of my payments were refused because they are NOT considered certified and sent back to me. The June one was supposedly sent directly to my regular mail on July 3. I asked what was sent to me because I never sent a check. It was sent thru my bank. It was the copy of the draft, and I was supposed to take that back to my bank and resend the $ certified funds. Well that's all fine and good but I have yet to receive any checks from them which means I am stuck at their mercy with fingers crossed they don't foreclose. Then I caught up again and paid my current month and half of the upcoming month (which their representative stated I could do). I received call stating that I had not paid, I explained that I paid half of May in April and was paying the other half in May. I was told that's fine.
In June I received a call stating I was two months behind. I asked how and they stated they took the payment and disbursed as they felt across the loan and the principal. What's interesting is they didn't put the money on my escrow, instead they stated I didn't have an escrow until after they received the payment. Which is not true since I received a new escrow amount right before the loan was sold. I made a payment and a half. What's interesting is my account states. Bank of America also sold our mortgage to Carrington end of 2016. Until this point, we had no problems at all. We were able to do online payments without any problems. Carrington then determined that one-time online payments would require a $5 processing fee. So we set up automatic monthly payments starting with the June 1 payment. On June 11 I realized in horror that the June mortgage payment was never deducted from our bank account. I log into the Carrington website to see that there is no banking information saved online and that our account shows no automatic payment showing up. How can this happen? This then made me realize that we NEVER receive any statements/bills that our payment is due - not by mail and not by email. How is this possible?
Carrington also does not send out confirmations for when an automatic payment is set up. I set up the automatic payment again to start for July 1 and this time I made sure to take screenshots of EVERYTHING. I am so upset right now. We were never late with our mortgage payment with Bank of America! I will for sure check my account and change my settings to mail communication to ensure we receive statements.

My loan was sold to Carrington Mortgage from Bank of America last September. Since that time I had a miserable experience with this company. My first experience with them was when I tried to call to make a payment and they said that my account was not ready in the system for payments and to call back. Well when I called back they said I was over 30 days late and could not find a record of my phone call. They would not remove the mark from my credit report. Since then they have sent me incorrect letters with massive late charges. It has been one thing after another and when I call nobody is willing to help. The operator just asks repeatedly if I want to keep my house, when I say yes then they say to pay the late charges. I am so deadly saddened that BOA sold my loan to such a poorly ran company. I am actually shocked that they can continue to do business in this way. It's awful the way they treat people.

Carrington didn't leave me hanging through the entire process. The customer rep was very responsive and worked extremely hard and diligently to get me through it all, I know it wasn't easy at all, but having a wonderful loan officer makes everything easy for me. I am extremely happy with this company.

They add fees they can't tell you what they are for. Today someone was going to change the locks because we weren't staying there. Due to remodeling bathrooms unable to be there. Which they were aware of. I'm paying flood ins. Nowhere near any water just a higher rate. And I have been paying bills for 40 years and have NEVER had someone I owe money to say, "We CAN'T take your money unless you pay more RIGHT NOW." Honestly who says no when you owe them and want to make a payment?

I have tried to call several times, been placed on 20 min holds, hour long conversations, sent faxes just to pay my bills. Then they put the wrong account number on payment and they consider it late and my fault. SO NOT HAPPY! JUST want to pay my bill!!!

I sit here sobbing because I am going through exactly what most of you all are. In 2007 I was working full time and OT plus going to grad school and having been recently divorced I set out to buy a home for my daughter, myself and my sick and aged mother. When I bought the home in 07 the mortgage was through Chase. In 2012 all of that OT, school, sick mother and disabled and sick child too their toll and put me out fully disabled 1/13/12. 2/29/12 my mother passed. Between losing my income, my mother and the small amount she was able to help with groceries and utilities I was unable to make my loan that was at THAT time 695.00.
I went through the Tennessee Save My Home and got a reprieve for 3 years, during those 3 years we barely kept food on the table between waiting for my SSDI to start, my new husband who'd had 3 strokes back to back and the only income coming in for a time was my daughter's disability. My husband finally got his started 9 months later and mine began in Sept 2012. When the TSMH reprieve was over I had been told by the rep to do a modification to lower the payments. I began that process May 2016 with Chase. I was on the phone and in pretty much constant communication with Chase all of this time. Chase continued to tell me that my loan mod was in with underwriters and finally was told that I had been approved to start the trial period of the Mod in October or November 2016. Pay the amount of 620.81 by the 3rd of each month for 3 months and then it will be made permanent. So that is what I did.
I had spoken with Chase within a matter of days when I got a letter from Carrington MS stating that they had purchased our loan from Chase. So of course in a panic I am on the phone with BOTH of them immediately. Chase told me that CMS was taking over our loan and it was their understanding that those of us who were in the midst of our loan mods that CMS would honor the agreements made between Chase and myself. CMS stated the same thing to me. So I just decided at that point to make ALL of my trial payments by MoneyGram by taking cash from my checking account and even though it was costing an additional between 12.00 and 20.00 a month it gave me peace of mind that that money was almost going from my hand into theirs.
Each month I would call into CMS and check in because I was getting notices that our loan was behind on payments (of now over 4k) and each time I would call the CSR would assure me that those were being sent out automatically because the loan mod dept and that dept didn't "communicate well". So each month I was assured that my payments were being made on time and that everything was "fine". So week before last I get a call from CMS while I was in the shower and called them asap when I got out. When I spoke to the CSR he stated to me that the Loan Mod had been handled incorrectly and that "basically Chase's paperwork for the Mod ended with a ..." So of course I panic and ask what did that mean for us? He said that I needed to either send in the 4k OR begin the loan mod process with them from scratch. So he stated he would send out the packet for me to start with.
A week later and still no paperwork, I go out to check the mail and there is a yellow letter stuck in my door that a Rep from CMS had came by to verify that the house was still being lived in by the owner and that they were sorry they had missed me. So I call them again. I told them what all had happened and that I still had not gotten the Mod packet. I was then informed that the loan mod was in fact a forbearance and not what I had been told by numerous of their CSR AND Chase's as well. I am not a cryer. But this has completely gutted me.
I this past Friday gotten one of the packets in the mail and was filling out Saturday and had some questions and called in. Turns out I need to fill out the packet for ALL 3 of us, separate packets. I asked if there was a link online that I could go to and fill them out and once I got off the phone with them began filling out again. When I filled out the paperwork for Chase to do the same thing you could fill them out and save them and upload to their website. With CMS you have to print out and scan back in and no one informed me of that nor was it anywhere on the website. So I contacted them through the chat option and at that time the CSR told me she would send out 2 more packets. Today I go out and check the mail and I had gotten an annual escrow report that was beyond confusing so I called again.
Now mind you when I originally bought the house it was a fixed APR because I wanted to be sure the payment wouldn't go up constantly. The payment at that point was 695.00 because I had my mortgage include taxes and insurance on my home. The actual house payment is supposedly 530 or 560. We had an ice storm in 2016 and part of a tree broke off and crushed the back patio and one of the dog kennels. So we were told by Chase that the escrow was short and the payment would have to go up from 725 to 865. THIS time with CMS it was going to be 970 because of a 700.00 insufficiency in our escrow which the CSR couldn't tell me exactly why the escrow payment went up only that Chase had "calculated wrong". I am at a loss as to what I should do now.
We rescued special needs small dogs when we were able to and now we still have quite a few of those special needs dogs and I just don't know how we are gonna even find a rental that will be 1. Affordable 2. Allow dogs. I am broken hearted to be ultimately losing my home as it seems by all accounts I have read here. When I spoke with a supervisor a few minutes ago I again asked why the escrow was causing the payment to go up again and also why I was having to re- fill out all of this paperwork again and why CMS couldn't take the contract Chase had me sign for a loan mod and just add an addendum for me to sign off on and she stated that what I had signed was for a " forbearance and why was I this behind anyway?"
I am 50 years old and have worked all of my life, sometimes more than 1 job since I was 15 and lied about my age so I could work. All I have worked for it appears I am going to lose. I am definitely interested in a Class Action lawsuit but don't even know where to begin. I live in a rural town and this place is very much based and ran on the "good ole boy" system and none of these lawyers are gonna be interested in something like this. If anyone can help me with who I should be contacting PLEASE let me know. I DO know that on these communications CMS has sent there is a number listed for a HUD counselor that I am going to try and reach out to as well to see if they can help me. If I find out anything that can help us I will try to find a way to let you all know as well.

WARNING do not use these people. If you don't believe me, just google them. Some people are calling for a class action lawsuit for the way they handle business. They have the absolute worst customer service I have ever dealt with. They bought my mortgage from CitiMortgage five years before the end of the term. They have misapplied funds, blew up my phone with their harassing calls and filled my mailbox to overflowing with their collection letters. I have never been late. In April the payment went up 62.00, my bad I thought it was May.
First I find out they reported me to the credit bureau as over 30 days late, mind you they had my payment less the 62$. Just didn't apply it. So now there is more money in the escrow account than the payoff on the house and guess what, they sent me a foreclosure notice. How damn stupid is that? Not just one but two to me and two to my ex husband, registered. So be aware - they are your worst nightmare. If you have a CitiMortgage make sure they don't sell it to these dumber than a box of rocks company. I will be calling them in the morning and telling them to pay off the balance and send me what is left of the escrow. If they don't send it right away I will turn them over for collection. So beware. DO NOT USE.

I typically don't write reviews. I wanted to write one last fall but decided not to. But I agree with so many frustrated consumers out there. Carrington Mortgage and their practices need to be investigated! No joke! Besides being harassed for a payment on the 2nd of the month, God forbid you have an INSURANCE CLAIM! They will keep your insurance check, make you jump through hoops, find a contractor who is willing to wait forever to get paid. Unless you have money in your savings to actually get your repairs done in a timely manner, and hope you, at some point, get the money from them for your insurance claim, your home will sit in a disrepair. I'm sure they make interest on the money they sit on while you keep hitting a brick wall. All for the sake of "monitoring the repairs".
If they want to monitor the repairs they should take over the repairs as well and find and deal with contractors who are willing to play by their "rules", and wait -and wait - and wait to get paid. What it comes down to, Carrington doesn't trust you! My mortgage too was sold by BoA. Don't know who is a bigger joke. Last year our area was hit by one of the costliest disasters in our State history. I had contractors walking out on me because they weren't willing to wait or deal with Carrington. That tells you a lot.
After fighting with Carrington for them to release the insurance check back to me so I can start the house repairs, I had to reschedule already scheduled repairs. We had baseball size hail coming down for about half an hour. Shingles gone, in spots down to plain plywood, broken windows, yard trashed, fence needed to be replaced. This storm affected over 33,000 homes. So good luck finding someone who was willing to wait for a payment. Money talks. They were going where they were getting paid on time. This storm happened in July. Because Carrington wasn't willing to release the insurance check to me I had to cancel already scheduled roof replacement for September. We live in Colorado, it starts snowing in October!
I fought with them over the money, and after threatening them with a complaint to the Attorney General and FEMA, they finally released the check to me. At this point, the earliest I could schedule roof and windows replacements was in December! All for the sake of "monitoring the repairs". I believe us consumers need to request to have them investigated. Nothing more frustrating than you wanting to pick up the broken pieces and start rebuilding and you can't. It's May, and I'm still dealing with them! Whenever I refinance or buy a new home, trust me, Carrington is NOT getting my business.

My Bank of America (BOA) Mortgage loan was sold out to Carrington Mortgage back in December 2016. I had not received any notification from either lender about the transaction. I discovered this when I went online to pay on my BOA credit card account and noticed that my Mortgage account was no longer showing under my active accounts. I searched the entire BOA website to find any trace of my mortgage account, to no avail. In not seeing the Mortgage account, I called BOA to inquire as to where my Mortgage account had gone and asked if they might be experiencing some IT technical difficulties. I could not locate ANY information, past history, or present, that had anything to do with my home loan I had with them.
It was at that time that I was made aware that my account had been sold to Carrington Mortgage. I asked BOA if they could provide me with contact information for Carrington Mortgage and also requested an account number that could be associated with the transfer. I had semi-monthly auto payments set up with BOA and asked them what had become of the funds pending that would make up the 1st half of my next scheduled payment. I needed those funds so that I could make payment in full with the new lender when the second half of my payment became due a few days later. They told me that the funds were transferred to Carrington with the loan.
Where I had the payments set up with BOA to pull out ahead of schedule so there would never be an accidental past due or late hit against my account, somehow, the second half of my payment that should have gone to paying the scheduled payment for the 1st of the next month, was now the deadline for my payment of the current month going past due??? This was mind boggling to me.
When I got in touch with Carrington to arrange making my payment, they said that they were only showing a partial payment and informed me that it could not be applied to the loan unless they charged me a service fee for the transaction. I explained that I would make the 2nd portion of the payment, so they would not have to take a partial. Still they said they couldn't accept even a portion of a payment through their pay options without charging a premium fee.
I then asked her to check to see if the fee could be waived, given the circumstances behind the way the loan was transferred. I didn't have as much of a problem in paying the service fee, as I did in the way my loan had been handled. I felt that I should not be penalized for the lack of organization in the way my account had been acquired; especially since I had not even been notified at that point. She said that she would have the supervisor call me with an answer and insisted that I still had 60 days before there was any threat of the account being hit with past due or late fees.
I spoke with another CSR the next day, asking more questions, and trying to get my payment in timely. She explained to me that I should not be worried about submitting the payment online, and suggested I just mail in the 2nd portion. This rep reiterated that I had 60 days before anything would count as past due or late. I still had 2 days left to make my payment, and I had not even let my account go past due while trying to figure out a way to avoid additional fees that I should not have been subjected to, when a letter FINALLY arrived from Carrington informing me that my loan had been sold by BOA and that they would be servicing the loan... AMBIGUOUS is an understatement!!!
The letter showed December in the date at the heading of the letter, and then in the body of the letter; they stated that BOA had sold my loan to them in October 2016. ALSO, I received a letter of default on the mortgage demanding payment while threatening collection activity and foreclosure. I was LIVID. I knew for a fact that I had continued to make payments to BOA through December and I was diligently working to make sure my payment did not even go past due for the current month (not even accounting for the 60 days grace period), let alone into default.
I was beginning to get REALLY BAD VIBES about the whole situation, so I called Carrington again, and told them that I would make a full payment through the ACH "AND" pay their fee just to get things under control. I also asked them to hold the partial payment that was sitting online, so that things would get squared away when I set up auto-payments. The lady assured me that the letter should never have been sent because of the 60 day grace. When I asked her about the back-date of October, she said not to worry about it. Damn straight I am going to worry about this!!! This is my home and I have never missed a single payment and have never even been late; a letter of default??? I wanted to go off on her, but refrained. I've invested my entire life into this home and have 6 years left to pay on it in 5 years I reach retirement age and would like to be able to take advantage of it when my time comes.
The rep mailed out a letter with their routing information so that I could take it to BOA and set up auto-payments through them. I faxed Carrington the letter provided by BOA that listed the account information needed and the authorization for Carrington to auto-debit my account. I double checked all account and routing numbers for accuracy before I faxed the authorization form back, because Carrington very vividly states that they are not responsible for incorrect routing or banking account numbers and will penalize if numbers are not correct and they have to bounce the payment back. I faxed the document so that there would be a digital footprint to show that all numbers were entered correctly. They had told me that it would take a few weeks, so advised me to continue making manual payments until auto pay was adequately set up.
When I went to make my next payment, the partial payment funds were GONE. I called them again and asked what had happened to the partial payment. They said they didn't know what it was for, so they applied the extra funds towards principle. Although I had talked to MULTIPLE people ranging from reps to supervisors, where I had documented names, times, and dates of the conversations, apparently no notes were made on the account to show the funds were designated for the next payment.
I demanded to speak with a supervisor, who told me the funds would be moved back into pending so that I could use them when making my next full payment due in another few days. We've already been going back and forth by this time for a couple of months with NOTHING but headaches and struggles to keep them from botching up my credit with their incompetence or deliberate mishandling of my account. The supervisor said they would remedy the error, and not to worry about making the payment up.
2 to 3 days passed and the adjustment still had not been made. I'm on the phone again. This time, the supervisor was not available. The payment would be due again the next day. Not to take their word on ANYTHING, because I do not feel they are to be trusted; I made another payment in full through the ACH. The people that I did talk to, when I asked them if they had got my fax for auto-pay, they said yes and gave me the day where it was supposed to begin drafting.
I watched the Carrington website like a hawk, and waited to see how they handled the auto-pay once it went into effect. The payment first posted on Carrington, but when I checked my account with BOA, nothing showed as pending or posted. I called BOA and asked them if they had anything hanging out there for Carrington and they said no. I called Carrington a couple days later when it began getting closer to the due date, and they told me that they payment did not go through; saying I had provided them the wrong account numbers. I told them that I was sitting there looking at the FAXED document that I could provide digital copies of the transmission of it, and told them I was beginning to grow weary with all of the mishandling going on with my account. Again, they told me that they would get it fixed, not to worry.
By this time, I'm telling them that if I have to continue chasing after this just to make a payment, that the next phone call will be by an attorney. Still, yet another time I had to used the Pay Online option to make a full payment. They are announcing currently on their website that their Payment Option fees will be going up May 1st and strongly encourage all members to take advantage of their automatic payment feature.
The gentleman I spoke with last had said there was a digit missing off of the bank routing number, and I told him that it was definitely an error on input, and encouraged him to look at the actual fax. Told him that if he couldn't find it; I would happily send him a copy of it. Anyway, he seemed to be concerned and appeared to exhaust a lot of effort in the two of us getting the Auto-Pay set up correctly. I took screenshots of EVERYTHING, including the bank routing and account numbers, my agreement to terms, and the dates and amounts the account was to be drafted. I also took a screenshot of the confirmation and date where is said the auto-pay had been successfully set up and the next scheduled dates for draft would be Apr 1, 2017 and Apr 15, 2017.
The auto draft for Apr 1 didn't pull and when I went to the CMS website this morning, there was NOTHING showing as having any auto-payments set up. I made another ACH payment in full today and paid their fee again. I'm waiting to see if they go to pull the auto-draft out on the 15th now; doubt that will happen with no data under scheduled payments. I am ALL FOR A CLASS ACTION Lawsuit, and I think that many of you out here have been experiencing a lot of the same frustrations and grief.

Where do I begin... I had an insurance claim with my insurance company no less back in October 2016. January 2017 this idiot mortgage company took over and stated that they could not release any checks because they would be monitoring the claim. After countless paperwork back and forth they still have yet to get it right. My kitchen is falling apart and no one over there cares. Everyone I call a new idiot gets on the phone to express yet another paper that they need or are missing. I have been paying my insurance every month and because I went through a modification with this idiot mortgage company they stated they need to monitor my money. Really?
After countless paperwork signed off by Home Depot to release the cabinet order they sent me the check in the wrong person's name. I am stuck and can't get no reprieve from Carrington. They are trying to see if they will release a new check to Home Depot. Key word "see" my kitchen cabinets are warped being repair and this mortgage company won't release funds that are mine from the insurance company. The insurance company and this mortgage company should be called dumb and dumber. Every time I call them I flare up. My Fibromyalgia and scoliosis kicks in. I have already slipped and fell in my kitchen due to the extensive water damage I had and they going to "see" if they can release my Freaking money.
This company is a pure joke. If I knew then what I know now I would have not signed off with them. They are the worse. Universal Casualty is also named the worse 10 companies in the state of FL. Carrington Mortgage is right there neck and neck with them. Customer Service reps have no idea what they doing and haven't been trained properly. They leave you on hold then come back to give you more bad answers that make no sense. This company has no clue how to handle a insurance claim and are even more worse when it comes to giving the correct answers. They are rated 0 stars. If I could swap out mortgages I would.

I am only giving Carrington Mortgage a 1 because 0 is not an option. My mortgage was sold to Carrington by Chase. I was with Chase for 6 years when I needed to modify my loan due to a 250.00 increase in my payment. After I was approved for the modification & told by Chase they would tack on the difference to the end of my loan, they sold me out to this evil company. I got a letter stating that if I did not pay back all the "late" payments (the difference in the modified amount) they were starting foreclosure process. This gave me about 2 weeks to come up with over 2k.
After paying that amount and putting 432.00 in an escrow account (because I knew that was going to be their next move) they still claim a escrow shortage and raised my monthly payments from 809.79 (they were 670.70 with Chase) to 853.00. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!! They will lie and cheat you until you are forced into foreclosure. AND IF you modify your loan with your mortgage company, they will sell you to another company like Carrington who specializes in stealing people’s homes. BEWARE of Carrington, they are NOT a Mortgage company, they are a debt collector.

I was set on fire 6/1/16 by my daughter's father. I was in a coma for 14 days. My family tried to call and pay on my account but because they were not authorized to do so they would not let them. I woke up on June 14th. I attempted to pay the note on that day but the site was down and it was too late to call them. I called the next day to pay. They had applied the late fee. I asked would it be possible to remove it due to my current condition. They said no. We paid the late fee.
I was receiving long-term disability which is only 60% of my pay. I fell behind on the mortgage because of this. I spoke with customer service and they did not help me with any solutions. They have since put me into foreclosure on 3/28/17. One week before they sent me modification paperwork, which I filled out and sent it express mail. I heard from them today and they are still requesting more information from me. This has to stop. We all need to come together and figure out how to handle this unprofessional company.

My mortgage was sold to Carrington MS in late 2016 and I've had nothing but trouble ever since. They increased my mortgage due to an escrow shortage. I paid the escrow shortage in full to keep my payment from increasing so much and they never applied to payment to the escrow. I was given wrong information several times when calling customer service to try to rectify the situation. I have been dealing with this mess since mid-January and it's still not resolved. I'm already sick of dealing with this company and don't like their tactics. They just keep taking more and more money from me.

Don't they have anything better to do than to bother someone who pays well before the end of the month like clockwork? THEN, they keep calling me asking me to refinance with them. Are you serious? I was 1st with the Bank of America and for a year they made me send again and again the loan modification forms. Then they send me to Carrington and had to start all again for a year and me think they have the people that answer trained to make up excuses not to go ahead with the modification and then I was still on the loan modified process and no news and for my good luck a coworker of my son was searching for a home and he saw my home in the foreclosure list even though I did not receive any documents or any response from Carrington at all. I had to go into bankruptcy to save my home. And then they was sending now the loan modification approved. I can't cancel the bankruptcy. They WILL TAKE MY HOME. They are trained to take homes. Don't understand why??? Why the lies??? Is incredible how can they get away with so much.
I then I even got a letter from BANK OF AMERICA to fix the problem. I even when I am in bankruptcy since December the Carrington company has not filed the proper paperwork to the trustee to settle the debt. It is incredible. My lawyer said that they have a May deadline... OMG May... AND THEN I HAVE AN INSURANCE CLAIM since June 2016, they took the check for repairs and do not want to give me the insurance money until this day. I am sending a NOTARIZE letter swearing that I will make the repairs and then they will send the money they took from my insurance company. Crazy.

I have called the loan originator and Carrington multiple times with no return calls and no answers to this. Then I recently received a notice that monthly service charge of $5.00 would be added to my payment because they want me to use automatic debit instead of bill pay that I have been using since I made the loan. I would like to say that I have been with this lovely LOL =( company for over 3 years thanks to another scam of a company by the name of Bank of America. In that time I have had fraudulent fees attached to my account, wrongly stated escrow analysis which in return raised monthly payments without any real proof of reason and numerous blindsided calls from different phone numbers related to this company with the same old sorry ** person trying to disguise their voice & name in a foolish attempt to refinance and steal more from a person who is already permanently disabled in the past 3 years. So let’s start from the beginning.
1. Bank of America blindsided sold my mortgage to this company who I had never heard of. Okay went to look them up and lo and behold the trail of fraud lies and scamming began under law. Any consumer who is being sold to another mortgage/loan servicing company has a window time of 60 days according to RESPA at which your account is protected under law meaning the new mortgage servicer is supposed to in a timely manner send a welcoming letter along with any information in regards to your account being transferred over during this so-called grace period. Also under law they are not allowed to place any fees or changes to your account during this time.
Well lo and behold I received my first statement from Fraudulent Mortgage Services and lo and behold a $15 fees for debris removal. Wait one sec, so I call and ask what is this all about and of course I was given a runaround about them having to come to my private property and remove some invincible debris. Funny thing is I have cameras placed at every corner of my property for incidents and idiots such as them so I ask for proof and of course could not be provided a date nor time at which this took place which simply could have been proven by rewinding cameras right.
Okay so I place a call to Bank of America because I am very displeased at the initial service I am receiving from this lovely fraud of a company they have seem to become best friends with LOL. Luckily at the time I was in the first month grace period and was able to get a lovely customer rep from Bank of America to place a three way call to Fraudulent Mortgage Services in regards to this mysterious fee which by law is illegal for this first 60 days of course. Fraudulent Mortgage Services call services rep tries to argue with the lovely Bank of America rep who they had just serviced a loan for about this debris removal fee which was stated to them I kid you not right in front of my face as being illegal and needing to be taken off my account immediately.
Of course like everyone else here I was promised that the fee would not be charged by this sorry ** of a customer service rep who had a horrible attitude like as if I was in the wrong for inquiry. Anyhow thank you Bank of America rep I am sorry I cannot remember your name at this time you opened my eyes to a new world of scamming done by the people who we are supposed to trust to now service our mortgage loan . Nevertheless when my first month statement arrives lo and behold the fee is still there. However it is not listed as an debris removal so I place a call to Fraudulent Mortgage Service and of course am greeted by a horrible customer service rep who tells me I must pay the fee for this month and they will credit it to my account which I did.
Funny to this day I have yet to see the credit for this scam that was placed on my account but hey what is $15 dollars to a person who lives off a fixed income right on top of that in the first month I was sent a letter by them in which they stated that my mortgage was consider late which was illegal under the terms of the 60 days grace period according to law. I knew this was bull because a couple days prior to the catfight between the Fraudulent Mortgage Service and Bank of America rep I had paid the first monthly mortgage over the phone with what I believe if I am not mistaken a $15 over the phone fee. Boy they sure love to place fees on us the consumers LOL. At the time I just took it as a big mistake and would pay very close attention going forward.
2. About six months into being with Fraudulent Mortgage Service I received a Escrow Analysis Statement form in which my mortgage was to be raised by $100 a month for what reason I was not understanding. So of course being a concerned customer I placed a call to Fraudulent Mortgage Services and spoke with about 4 different customer services reps who could not give one reasonable reason except to say new law required a two month cushion period. Of course I felt something was wrong so I went and backtracked on all paperwork given to me by Bank of America right before the transfer of said loan and the BS Escrow Analysis form given to me by this scam of a company. And to my surprise Fraudulent Mortgage Service only used the escrow paid into my account for the term of the six month. I had been transferred with them at the time and not also for the beginning six months I was with Bank of America.
Of course I was boiling hot feeling like some bully had tried to steal money from my pocket in high school so I did some research and came across a number for a lovely lady by the name of Jessica ** who was supposed to be a Customer Advocate for Fraudulent Mortgage Service. We spoke on the phone and I let her know all the wrongdoing that had been going on and she promised me she would prioritize my account and look into it and get back to me. Fast forward about a week later I received a call from Miss Gray with a beautiful voice in which she tried to break down the reason for the increase and at the time it seemed to make sense until I got the year ending statement tax statement from Bank of America and Fraudulent Mortgage Service and noticed the issues at hand which is they shorted my escrow account by not adding the first six month of escrow from Bank of America which by law is illegal.
Luckily in the beginning of the year when I was initially with Bank of America I had applied for a Homestead Tax Exemption which dramatically decreased my taxes but they still did not care to believe that this was in place and went forward in increasing my mortgage. Well of course Fraudulent Mortgage Service doesn't do their research so I got in contact with my local county tax appraiser and requested them to send the tax exemption paperwork again to Fraudulent Mortgage Service so that my account could be corrected. I had to wait a year for it to be corrected along with numerous faxes which were never received supposedly and calls being placed to Fraudulent Mortgage Service time after time.
Boy I felt like some type of paralegal LOL. I am thinking damn maybe Fraudulent Mortgage Service could use my helping hand in one of their corrupt offices correcting these idiot mistakes that they make but I wouldn't sell my dog to this company if I had a chance to. By the blessing of some higher power the account was adjusted and now Fraudulent Mortgage Service sees that they must pay back money which is overage in the escrow account keep you informed on what those real numbers were supposed to be paid back to me.
3. Going into the New Year I went to pay my mortgage online and was blocked from accessing my account and was told by the horrible online website I needed to place a call to Fraudulent Mortgage Service. God why me =( So of course I did and spoke with a Hispanic lady who had very broken English in which she stated that I told Fraudulent Mortgage Service I wanted to refinance and that was the reason why I could not access my mortgage to pay online. Yeah right seems like they want me to sell my soul to the devil now. I am thinking where is this all coming from.
I look back in to the initial purchase of this house at the end of 2008 when the recession was tearing everyone apart and I got a 5.5% interest rate with lo and behold Taylor, Bean and Whitaker who is another story for another day which also went of business in the following two months of me purchasing my home and the loan was bought by Bank of America who did everything they could possibly do at the time of owning my mortgage to drain my escrow account by placing hazard insurance and overcharging 3 to 4 times in one year. Luckily I was able to fight the storm of the horrible recession and keep my one and last true pride my home. I would like to get this out the way this company is owned by BRUCE ROSE. Please anyone who reads this please do your research into this clown or better yet evil guy. He should be sitting next to Lee Farkus in a 6 by 9 getting a nice foot or something else up his ** LOL.
Don't worry buddy your time will be approaching soon enough. Karma is a ** and you sir are the child who must get everything that comes with it. Nevertheless I started receiving random calls on a monthly basis for about three months from this random Fraudulent Mortgage Service loan appraiser officer disguised as a different name but the same idiot trying to very aggressively make me refinance my mortgage and of course I would rather lay on a railroad track and let the heaviest train kill me before this ever happens. During these calls I requested that he stop calling me and that Fraudulent Mortgage Service stop sending me mail every month in regards to refinance. It is junk mail which is great material for my dog to chew. I even sent some warnings his way about harassing me continuously. It got to the point that I changed my phone number. Do you guys see the hell I am being put through?
Thought I dodge the bullet LOL. Boy I must have been wrong. Let’s fast forward to the past couple months. Now I go to look for my monthly statement in the mail monthly like normal along with the BS refinance letter always sent from Fraudulent Mortgage Service and no physical monthly statement but of course refinance letter WTH. You guys really are messing with the wrong person so I place calls to Fraudulent Mortgage Service to find out where is my physical paperwork because we all know that God forbid I file an audit or want to report the many wrongdoing of this company I need physical paperwork. Of course the fraud customer service department promised me on several calls that they would immediately send out the paperwork which never came. I even asked that it be noted into my account which the idiot of a reps promised it was LOL.
It got to the point I had to find other number related to Fraudulent Mortgage Service to track down where the hell this very important paperwork was and why I had not been receiving it. Of course Fraudulent Mortgage Service has offices in other cities and states who accept calls for them whenever they choose to randomly close office for however long they choose fit. However they cannot access any account according to the top supervisor in the office so why exactly do they have these extra customer services offices open for is anyone to guess. Luckily I got in contact with someone in Fraudulent Mortgage Service who had nothing to do with customer service and thank you again you might be the only person with enough integrity to stand behind your job and I started to receive my monthly statements. Funny actually I got the same two statements the following Monday in two separate envelopes. Thanks again my friend.
Now let’s fast forward to last night. I check my email and received a lovely email about new guess what? FEES. Fraudulent Mortgage Service will be placing on us the consumers starting as of May 1st for services they already steal and cheat from us their consumers. So here is a heads up to all you consumer with Fraudulent Mortgage Service accounts starting May 1st if you pay online thru there BS Western Union Speedpay it is a $5 fee previously $0. Over the phone there is a five dollars surcharge on top of what they charge now and so forth on. As a matter of fact they were quick to update the BS website with this info but cannot for the love of any customer who has an account with them do anything else right. It seems when it comes to fixing the issues and fees they place on accounts.
I guess we are facing some rough times ahead people. I highly doubt that any investigation will be done into why this is taking place but hey as long as it is out there in the world of the internet we have fighting chance. So going forward I say to anyone dealing with Fraudulent Mortgage Service if you notice there is an issue with your account send them a Certified Mail Qualified Written Request to get to the bottom of thing. There is no use in dealing with customer service. I promise you by law they have to answer in the appropriated amount of time by according to the CFPB. This might be the most important thing you do as homeowner going forward. Place those same fees and BS charges brought on you randomly can now be placed right back in the devils hands LOL.
I hate for it to have to come to this but I am tired of the bully messing with people smaller than them. I was taught that if a bully messes with you stand up for yourself. Word of advice for Fraudulent Mortgage Service keep messing with me and I promise I will set up a Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and any other social media site to expose the BS going on. I am fed up. My next step is to my local news station and local freelance writer along with the SEC and Attorney General. Hey while I am at it why not? Maybe even Elizabeth Warren would love to take a look into this. She seems to recognize what is going on over there. Mr. Bruce Rose you have been warned. I stand by my word and I highly recommend anyone who is a consumer of Fraudulent Mortgage Service do the same in numbers they lose. With the help of social media this can be exposed. Ponzi is wrong. Have a great day.

Also being on disability I pay my mortgage at the end of the month, so after the 15th of the month they add a $30 fee. My mortgage isn't considered late until after the last day of the month BUT if not paid by the 15th of the month there is a late fee assessed. 4 mortgages and I have NEVER been charged late fees within the same month the loan is due.

I have always made payments online and now they want to charge me $5/month to do this. I have had my file closed 6 times and had to start over because they state failure to comply even though I call 2-3 times a week to make sure they have the required documents and try to do as asked. They keep adding fees and changing what they require and you can never speak to the same people. They will promise that your file will not be closed and close it with not even a call back even though you have requested one if there is a problem with the document. All I have requested is a decrease in my interest rate from a 6.75 to 4-4.5 and I could make my payment.
When I applied for my first modification I had 0 credit card debt and now I owe about 10,000.00 just trying to keep my mortgages current. I agree with everyone else that they are a bunch of crooks taking advantage of my bad situation and just making it worse. I have tried logging on to the site to make payments and the site is always down. So, when I call to make payment they charge me every time even if the site is down. I am behind one month and now I see multiple $20 charges that they state are for someone coming to my house to see if I live there. So I am charged $20 bucks weekly. This is bizarre. First everything said in these reviews is absolutely accurate. Carrington should be closed down immediately. Crooks 100%. My loan was with Chase to Nov. 2016. I never had any problems. I did not have Chase set up for automatic bank drafts and I find it very deceptive trade practices that Carrington helped themselves to my bank account. I put a stop check after the first month and the next month they modified the amount -- an increase of course - and bank drafted again. The bank honored it because the dollar value was different. I NEVER authorized them to ACH bank draft. I closed that account that I had for over 17 years.
Since then Carrington acts like it hasn't received my payments from Wells Fargo online bill pay. Instead they returned my check to me A WELLS FARGO BILL PAY CHECK and told me that I would have to call them -- they require Certified Funds: Western Union Quick Collect, Money Order, Cashier's Check. They had the check in their possession for weeks. They refuse to apply any payments to my account and when you call the message is "they do not accept payments on this account." When you get online you can't pay nor can you access your account. Customer Service is a complete joke -- it is obvious to me that they are trying to force me to either pay exorbitant amounts in late fees and payment processing fees and to push me into foreclosure by saying I haven't paid. Oh but how I have tried to pay these crooks.
In the meantime I am sitting here with the mortgage payments in my hand but they won't accept payments other than via ACH or Certified Funds as if I am the crook -- but I must call them first. I never get through to anyone when I call. As you keep reading you will see what they have done to other people's account freely taking money at their will. A Class Action is definitely warranted here. COUNT ME IN! And like everyone else herein, NO STARS actually negative stars. I pray this place gets closed down!

My brothers and I are selling my dad's house and have had it under contract now since October 2016. I have had to extend the closing date now 2 times due to not being able to get the payoff from Carrington. Probate is complete and the property has been placed in my brothers and my name.
I have called Carrington the title company and my attorney has called them trying to get them to release the payoff for the house.
