Bank of America sold my account to CMS with very little notice of the transfer and how to make the next payment which was due right then. When a payment is electronically selected there is no choice of dates and it is final. On top of that you have to listen to the message that they are a debt collection agency. I have an excellent payment record and very good credit rating. This month it would not allow a payment greater than my regular monthly payment - no extra payment on principal that day.

I did call today and they said I could use the extra payment button and it would go towards principal reduction automatically. They said they are making changes in the system. We shall see if it works correctly next month! When calling customer service the answering message is complex, the code for speaking to a customer representative is #8, very far down on the list! At least I was not placed on hold once I got the correct code selected...the representative was nice. However, I rate CMS a very user un-friendly company!!!

As I read all the recent current comments about this company, I am reminded that this robbery continues to affect the lives of Bank Of America customers. I was on time and had a mortgage with B Of A for five years and then out of the blue bingo my mortgage is transferred to this cyberspace fly by night company. Since this happened my escrow had been raised twice and I had to reconfirm my insurance as B of A didn't take care if it. Then I hear about cushion payment not to mention late fees. It's really scary folks. Are we going to let this company continue with their arbitrary tactics that undermine our trust and security?

Carrington claims to help individuals with low credit scores. I happened to be in this category when I started the initial loan process 64 days ago! They promised to close the loan with 45 days. I understand thorough documentation is need, I have also worked hard to increase my credit throughout this process, yet today is day 64 (they have already filed one closing date extension) and yet they are not ready to close the loan. Everyday I hear they only need 1 more piece of documentation, which I gladly provide only to find out they need something else. I will now be losing the purchase of my home due to their inability to close a loan!!! REALLY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. No one can even explain why they have strung me along and or not been able to close the loan! DO NOT GET YOUR HOPES UP - THIS COMPANY DOES NOT HELP THOSE IN NEED - DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND ENGERY!!!!

My home loan was recently sold to CMS from Chase. Upon being notified, I reviewed some of the blogs about CMS and discovered pretty bad reviews. However, I kept an open mind. I just recently tried to make my first payment with an additional amount towards the principal, however the website didn't allow me to make an additional payment. I waited to call Customer Service and was notified that they are having technical difficulties with their website and that I could make a minimum payment online today and go back tomorrow and make an additional payment.

I asked if I could just make the entire payment on the phone without a fee and was told no, they aren't allowed to waive the fee. Why should I be inconvenienced by their substandard service? Judging by all the previous reviews that I have read, I don't believe this is a technical difficulty that just developed. If this continues, I am wondering how many would be interested in a class action lawsuit?

When I bought my home my mortgage holder was Chase. I never had a problem with Chase or any of their customer service representatives. When they sold my mortgage to Carrington they also sold my personal bank information without my permission. Chase took my October payment on the due date as they still owned the mortgage, and notified Carrington of the payment, then and without my knowledge or permission Carrington took another payment 8 days later. At first the Carrington customer service people seemed to be concerned but that was just an act. First I had to prove to them that Chase hadn't reimbursed me the payment they rightfully took on the due date. Then I had to send proof of all the over drafts and damage done when they wrongfully took the second payment. There has to be some recourse for people to take against Carrington for their practice of wrongfully taking payments and then delaying reimbursements.

We too had our loan sold to Carrington from Bank of America. We had no trouble with BoA at all, made all of our payments on time. We generally make a payment on or around the last of the month so it is there before the 1st. We had already made our payment to BoA for the month that Carrington took over the loan. We had not received a letter from Carrington on how or who to make a payment to, so we just made our payment as normal to BoA. Then we get literature in the mail stating how we can make payments and the website etc.

Carrington has had our loan since March of 2015. We get a certified letter from them which reads "Intent to foreclose" because they say we are a payment behind. They have sent us nothing through the mail stating that their records show that we are behind a payment. They also said on the phone that our payment went up due to insurance premiums. My husband has called them and has spoke to three different people - all of whom have three different responses to his questions. One guy even said he didn't see where we were late and didn't understand why we received an intent to foreclose letter. How do they get other banks to sell them anything, and how can they foreclose on something that isn't late?

They took over my loan from Chase bank. I had some financial issues with business and got behind in my mortgage. When I tried to make house payment they refused to take it, said I had to have two payments. Next week I had two payments and they refused them and said I had to have three payments. This went on and on until I got help from stepforwardmichigan.com, got caught up and this whole time I was trying to get a modification. While this is going on my health was getting worse from the stresses they caused. I have fibromyalgia and stress is very bad for my illness. After trying to get two modification done with them, they turned me down twice. Started a third with a agency here in Michigan, by now my health is getting real bad, I had to file for disability.

I was forced to quit working because I was unable to keep up with the demands of driving semi truck that I owned. Sold it and paid off a couple bills. Found a local job and was fired because I was sick. Then next week social security approved me for disability. I have had fibromyalgia for thirty years and always had been able to work as long as I got rest and kept my stress level down.

When Carrington MS wouldn't give me a HARP modification so I could keep my house so I wouldn't lose all of my investment was devastating to me. Today was suppose to be a sheriff sale and they pulled it from the docket. So they are still causing stressful situation to me. I offered them 47,000 in June 2015 and today it was being offered for 36,000. When my attorney made the offer they never even responded to him. That's when I had to file bankruptcy.

When I was trying to get the modification done they told me to call USDA rural development, Carrington claimed it was USDA was turning it down, USDA said they only guarantee the loan through Chase bank and for me to call them. I called Chase bank. They said they didn't have anything to do with the loan, I had to call Carrington. Called Carrington again and was told they didn't know anything and didn't even know who I should talk to but would get back to me when they figured it out. Never did call me back. I am still on the title of the property. No one seems to know who owns my house now. My real estate agent can't get any answers either. Hope you guys can help me get my house back at the fair market value since I bought it just before the bubble in real estate collapsed.

I am furious with this company. My son's mortgage was sold to them and he was not notified so he continued to make payments to his normal mortgage lender. The next thing we know our son gets a notice that if he does not have 7,177.44 before Sept. 28th his home would be taken in foreclosure! We paid the money. I spoke with not one, not two but 3 representatives and wrote down their names whom all told me that it was settled, payments would remain the same and lawyers fees would be taken out of the money! Oct arrives 1st payment coming due, what he had 3 statements come in the mail??? My DIL calls, "oh the money for the lawyer is in the suspense account so you have to ask for it to be withdrawn to attach to your payment"! She does that and gets confirmation, ladies first & last name and pays a fee to pay over the phone!!!

Today receives a letter that their payment is late. None of money can go toward payment, can go to balance of loan til a lawyer signs off on it. My son's money sits in the suspense acct. not allowed to be touched. They refuse to give us the lawyers name for us to contact him! Even though they paid & on time they are also charged a late fee!!! This company is horrible and we are going to hire a lawyer for our son and sue Carrington Mortgage! We will bring everyone that we have first + last names to court also!

We even had staff pretend we had a bad connection when we were using a landline and hang up on us after being transferred over 3 time and placed on hold for over 20 minutes. How rude and low-life is that? I have news for them, the housing market in my area is terrible and they will have a VERY difficult time reselling my home! I also didn't read the disclaimer that when you submit a payment it is final, and I wanted to change the date after reading reviews that they harass you if it is paid after the 1st. They also advertise that you can contact them by email, but there is no option to email customer service. I have been very displeased since BOA sold my note to Carrington. I was just about to transfer all of my accounts to BOA when I found out that they were selling my note to Carrington. Of course with this info I didn't transfer anything. Carrington doesn't offer the ability to pay more on your principal on web and their pay by phone charges an extra $15 so the logical choice is to mail your payment if you like to pay more than requested. They say they give you 2 week before your payment is considered late however they don't tell you that they will call you every day until they receive payment. I have never sent Carrington a late payment and the first time they called I told them when I mailed it out yet they still harass me every day. I can't stand Carrington. Compared to BOA they are a hassle.

First let's start by saying I was a BOA member and they had my mortgage loan. Carrington purchased my loan. Right out the bat from day one we have had nothing but one issue after another in dealing and just simply trying pay our mortgage payment. Keep in mind we were on time at BOA. Carrington HM loans not only won't take a payment on phone without charging, they also find reasons to raise your mortgage payment soon as the 60 day grace period is over. They even goes as far as making it difficult to find the payment sign in. If you do a search you will typically find they route you to new loans or all these nice welcoming sites offering better finance rates. They even goes as far as to charge five dollars to do by phone only if you give them full access to your checking account. I for one find this extremely intrusive.

Then if you have issues and pay by check or online payment they will not guarantee pay will process in 3 days which could make you late. BEWARE OF THESE PRACTICES. THEY ARE CROOKS AND MAKE IT HARD TO EVEN PAY YOUR PAYMENT. With this being said I unfortunately cannot understand why on top of all this they expect you to change your password every few months. Oh and you're not allowed to use any of the last 24 passwords you have used. I mean come on who has 24 different password. If there is one person with 5 or less accounts that has 24 passwords please contact me as I am contacting ACLU and filing a proper complaint.

I feel our rights as Americans should at least include paying our bills without being charged a fee and if paid online should post and process same day.. I truly feel a class action lawsuit is in order. My 63 year old mother also got racked into the game and I would be worried about her if she wasn't tougher than me. Those people have no idea who's loan they bought when they purchased 250,000 loans from BOA.

I had my mortgage with BOA from 2008 to early 2015 when they sold it to Carrington. I never had a late payment with BOA, paying was easy. Carrington don't take electronic payment from my bank so it goes as a check and every month it’s late according to Carrington, even though the check posts to my bank sooner than they document it. On top of that, I have a fixed rate loan and my mortgage payment is about 116.00 more a month. They claim it’s from an analysis projection for the next year.

In addition to that they claim my insurance is 987.00 and my insurance is 6-something and of course I have to repeatedly call my insurance company to request they send them "updated" documentation. I am not happy. I feel like I can’t keep up with the mortgage payments, they just keep adding more to it. One thing to keep in mind is that when I bought my home it was valued at 169K and of course taxes would have been higher and my payment was not this high. Now my home is valued at 85K and I am paying much more. Why?

On the final closing date, they missed the deadline to wire my money by 10 minutes on a Friday afternoon. So, the title did not transfer until the following Monday. My buyer was ready to move in that weekend. Carrington Loan Officers hide behind their emails and voice mails so good luck getting someone to help you.

My buyer and I had to get their Executive VP involved to get any action. It still took in excess of 60 days to close. Carrington actually asked the buyer twice for the same documentation. As the house was for sale by owner, my attorney had to charge me his full fee of $900 because of all the back and forth with Carrington. Our mortgage was sold to Carrington around October of 2014. For years prior, we were with Chase Bank, a reputable, well known establishment. I was horrified when our mortgage was sold because I've seen the negative impact this has had on some other families. I was surprised when I didn't have these issues and everything went smoothly with our first payment. It even stayed the same! Then the first of the year comes around and our escrow account gets analyzed. I had the same insurance company for homeowners I had had for years. My property taxes fluctuate within a few dollars of where they are now. So needless to say I wasn't expecting anything to change on their end since nothing changed on my end.

Well, imagine my surprise when my escrow payment was increased by $175 a month! We will have paid an additional $2100 this year alone ON TOP of what our normal escrow payment is, which covers everything coming out of my escrow and has for years before this company bought my loan. I was thinking about doing my own taxes and insurance and not paying it out of an escrow account until I read some other reviews of how Carrington will charge you regardless and won't refund any money you've put in escrow thus far. I'm at a loss at to what to do. But if you get stuck with Carrington and can, refinance as soon as possible to get away from them!

They went up on our mortgage by $77.00 dollars with no notice and when we called them to find out why, they gave us this spiel about how we were are now required to provide a buffer for our escrow account. It is impossible to get anyone on the phone that has a clue, their reps are clueless and have the worst attitudes I've ever seen. Their website is also a joke, it doesn't allow you to control your money for making payments, so it forces you to call their call center where there's a service fee involved if they tell you what time it is.

We are also not happy with BOA, it looks like they and other banks have sold a lot of their assets to this company and did not require them to provide at least the same level of service that we were receiving prior to our mortgages being sold to Carrington. I believe that some of their practices are illegal and unethical but unfortunately it may be a few years before we hear about a Class Action that holds them accountable. We are completely in the dark concerning our escrow account now and we already know that we can expect additional charges in the future with this company unless we can swing a refi. We really expected to be with BOA for the life of our loan but like you guys we see that they sell our loan anytime that they want to.

I have owned this home for almost 10 years and have NEVER EVER with the prior company received a Notice of Foreclosure for being 6 days late. I confirmed that both my August 2015 and Sept 2015 checks cleared by my bank well before their late payment date, yet if they don't receive payment on the first, they automatically send out a Notice of Intent to Foreclose, they are then scrambling sending out subsequent forms indicating when they received payment and the breakdown (i.e. ins, escrow, interest).

These people have no clue how to run a mortgage company. If you are not going to charge late fee until the 16th of the month why are you sending foreclosure notices for the past 2 months? I have NEVER EVER missed a payment. Never. A few days is NO REASON to be threatening foreclosure. You people are idiots.

I have made monthly calls, numerous faxes and sent all paperwork to the California office as they had instructed me to do. Last month, I spoke to a floor manager and she explained what has been going on. The payment account servicing department was behind on adjusting or entering information into the system, which has caused delays. She looked into my account then put notes in system on how the money is to be dispersed, including any overpayments (escrow). Then I get this month's statement. Boy, I was happy at first then I really looked at it then I saw the LATE PAYMENT! No one could explain the charge.

I told them to reverse it since I had until the 16th to be considered late and the payment was made on the 3rd of this month. I'm supposed to call back if I do not see it reversed in a few days. Then I wanted to talk to the escrow dept. to make sure the amount were correct and to inquire about the Analysis Refund. I was informed they do a review of Escrow twice a yr. and by what they calculated I had too much in there. I told her that I hope so, since I would not be paying for any shortage at the end of year due to the problems with my account. She advised me to not do that. I was wrongfully terminated from my job and have been having a hard time finding decent employment to cover my monthly mortgage including escrow of $1,256.46/month. I was turned down by unemployment for a lame reason but I'm not going to get into that right now.

I applied for mortgage assistance twice and both times they declined me stating that this would require making changes to my account, which makes absolutely no sense. What's the point of having mortgage assistance if you're not going to help people with their mortgage? First of all a big company like this should be able to take a payment from a debit card. I have been trying to sign into my account online. I forgot my password so you have to answer security questions to reset password and my question was name of street I grew up on which I know is correct but keeps telling me it is wrong. When you call customer service to get help they talk to you like you are stupid. I have been in hospital for a week in intensive care and my wife was going to make a payment for me and they refused to allow her because her name was not on account. We are 2 months behind due to my sickness and we are trying to catch it up over the next two weeks.

My wife was not asking for information on acct. She just wanted to pay them $1000.00 and they would not take payment. She then sent it to them through western union. They do have to accept payment right? I am so afraid they are going to try to take our home. Why would a company not take a payment? It is ridiculous!

They also took over my mortgage from BAC, who in February just did a escrow analysis on my escrow account, which my escrow payment went up $3.00 a month. Due to a shortage of $22.68 at which I paid in full. My Monthly payment went from $878.19 to 881.77 to keep my account on track. I receive another escrow Analysis from Carrington on May 26 2015, it shows the escrow transfer from BAC the sum of 801.88, on their analysis with April and May's Escrow total of 532.66. Now brings my total to $1334.54 in escrow then they start the analysis Aug 15 2015 to July 16 2016. They start the escrow with the sum of 1600.87 just one more escrow payment. There should have been two months which should have been $1,867.20. So they are missing either June or July Escrow. Those two payments should be shown on the Analysis statement, then to find out they want to hold a extra $532.00 in my account for one year.

I also found out that they do not pay any interest on the escrow accounts. Well that's when I start checking on Complaints against Carrington Mortgage LLC. Actually they are a debt collection agency. I also found out Legislation passed a bill regarding escrow accounts, that mortgage holders must pay a minimum of 2% interest every 1/4 on escrow accounts. This bill was passed in 1974. We have call Carrington Mortgage LLC several times. The customer service reps are lousy. They go off on their own not listening to the customers explain the problem. We did however get one rep Joe to see our problem and he agreed that we were correct and sent the information back to the Escrow Dept. Joe did call us back to let us know they were working on the missing escrow money. I just call today to check on the progress, didn't get anywhere at all.

I thought my mortgage payment would be the same for 30 years or so, but this is not the case. How much will it be 6 months from now? My original loan was also with Taylor, Bean and Whitaker sold to BOA sold to Carrington. I looked up the rating for this company with the Better Business Bureau and with all the complaints I see how is it possible they have an A+ rating? This bank said AAA is not paying my homeowners insurance. The AAA representative called Carrington on a three-way call on 8/12. They said a payment would be sent on 8/27. No payment was sent which was confirmed by them today. They also said there was no record of our three-way conversation.

    Updated on 09/28/2015:

I was the person from Kansas who Carrington did not post my payments for four months then sent a foreclosure notice. Now I have attempted three times for them to pay by homeowners insurance. They said they have sent the check once and it was returned by AAA. Then they said the person who took the phone call never did anything about the first phone call. Then they said they overnighted the check to AAA to the wrong address.

I have emailed a complaint to the Federal Reserve asking for an investigation. Guess what? Carrington got that notice and sent a letter they were investigating my complaint. They even gave me a phone number to Customer Advocate. Don't try it. They don't answer the phone and they don't respond to messages. I am ready to file a class action lawsuit, anyone interested? I also have e mailed the District Attorney and the state Attorney. I also posted on e mail and sent my Senator an email. I don't know how to make a video for youtube but someone who does should. I had paid my mortgage for July but they said that was a partial payment but that was what I was paying with Bank of America. Even though I paid them what I paid Bank of America they said it was a partial amount and charged me a late fee and other fees to my account.

Then in August I knew that my taxes had gone up about 42.00 a month so I sent them 1550.00. They applied this to my July payment and charged another late fee to my account even though I gave them over what was due. My mortgage payment went up just because someone wanted to spend my money differently and it is now over a hundred dollars plus late fees and I am paying just to keep a padding in my escrow account which will probably disappear when my mortgage gets sold to another mortgage company.

They tell me that I am not authorized on the account (which I am), I have played their "game" and sent over a signed authorization letter signed by my husband several times. Yet they claim that it's still being processed weeks later, so they once again refuse to speak with me. (My husband is at work the same times that they are open and cannot call them himself.)

When I ask to speak with a supervisor, they refuse to transfer the call. This is absolute crap! I have not yet paid our August payment because we refuse to pay another $300 extra unless we know why! I understand taxes change and insurance rates can go up, but $300 more per month? That is absurd. We need to know where our money is going. Does anyone know how to get away from this company? Are there any legal steps we can take?

Bank of America sold my loan to Carrington Mortgage company with no notice or explanation. I was concerned at that point, so I called Carrington. They gave me a pleasant surprise when they informed me that my mortgage had gone down from $988.41 to $941.72. I should have known it was too good to be true. This month sent a letter to the incorrect address. They sent a statement to my mother's house indicating that my mortgage for July and August was 2,039.44. When I called today, the customer service department stated that it had now changed to $1,197.20. When I asked questions about the changes, I was transferred to another department and explained that the statement had been sent to the wrong address.

The slick talking man told me that they had charged me 632.36 + 189.90 to make a cushion of 822.26. I was dumb when I asked him to repeat the numbers he had rattled off while using the phrase, "We require you to have a "cushion" in case your escrow/taxes, or homeowners goes up." When I asked why they could not charge me when that time comes, he said "Ma'am, we are not a bank. When you think of Bank of America, you think bank and you think money, they have money to cover. We are not a bank, we are a mortgage company." I said, "Alright. Well, where is the 189.90 coming from? You are saying I am insufficient, in November 2015. How can I be insufficient into the future? It made no sense to me." He got condescending again and said, "Ma'am we sent you this documentation. Just read your papers." I reminded him it was sent to the wrong address and I wanted my own copy. He said they would do that.

This sounds really fishy to me. They don't seem to care how drastically this affects a family! The gentleman I talked to said, "It really only adds 78/month to your payment." I should have said, Oh is that all? I don't spend $78 a month on anything! Not ok. This hasn't happened to any of my neighbors who all continue to pay around 950-988! Watch out Carrington, if my money is not refunded as you say at the end of the escrow year in June 2016, I will be coming after you with everything I have. I may take the advice of one of the reviews and contact the DA for Carrington's county. Plug in Carrington and be aware that we are angry and on to your potential scam. Chase Mortgage, without notice, sold my mortgage to Carrington Mortgage. So far, I'm not late with my payments, but they almost insist you pay online, or pay the person $15 to make a payment to a human! As one other person did, I hate the way they start out: "This is an attempt to collect a debt, and any information..." yada, yada. It is MADDENING to deal with them. Even the way they begin a conversation starts off as adversarial. And if I have to keep paying this way, they will collect an additional $180 a year, and magnify that by the thousands of accounts. They can be dredging real money out of people's reluctant hides.

They are rude, though I do have to give today's lady credit for keeping cool under some fairly acidic comments from yours truly. I have one benefit, some others do not. While my loan was still with Chase, we had us a fine old argument. They didn't pay my insurance for 9 months, darn near got me cancelled, then made a lump sum payment to bring my home insurance current. Then they set up a magical number for my escrow account, and jacked up my payments by over $50 a month. I went to war. Suffice it to say I can be pretty persuasive, and since then, I have been paying my own insurance on my home, while they pay the taxes.

Chase also tried to jack up the escrow amount, despite the fact that my taxes went DOWN by $300 a year. When Carrington announced they were my new loan servicer, I made it abundantly clear that I would keep paying my own insurance. Easy, as I pay it along with my car insurance. So far, so good, except for the craziness of dealing with them. And oh, yeah, today, I tried to set up an online payment, and now, they want me to change by password every 60 days! They are being a giant pain in my tuchas!

I also read all the other complaints listed here, and I guess I've been lucky. So far. However, having been warned that they are dishonest, I will, if it becomes necessary, to report them to the banking commission of their state and mine, the Attorneys General of their state and mine, the BBB, even "60 Minutes" if I could get them interested! They perceive me as an old lady. They don't know what my working life was like. I'm retired, disabled, from McDonnell Douglas, and my title was Assoc. Engineering Scientist. And for decades, every time I was hit with a sexual harassment problem, or as I got older, a sexIST problem, I dealt with it in ways that embarrassed the offender. Never had to sue. Dong so would probably have gotten me blackballed. So, I hope they don't try to mess with me.

As for those of you who have been hassled, getting them noticed as bad guys always works. So, why not every single person who has been hassled by these turkeys send your stories to "60 Minutes?" If they get enough complaints, they just might do a segment on it. The only bank worse than Carrington's is HSBC.

Consequences? All you folks have taught me to treat them with caution!

I believe they are not applying the extra I pay each month on escrow and principal. I am so fed up with this company and just want away from them. Either back to Chase or somewhere else PLEASE!!!

Carrington Mortgage bought my long term and nearly paid off mortgage from Bank of America. Now, I am 70 years old and have had and paid off mortgages with 6 different mortgage company, and never had trouble with any until Carrington. In the first place, their online site is a mess. I have established my online i.d. twice, and still this third time to try online access to my account doesn't recognize my password. Further the office is closed after 6 and on weekends, so I guess there isn't anybody there to reset my password, again as it has been an hour since I requested it. Instead of with virtual programming, they must run their online account service with a team of oxen. The reason I am trying to view my account is because I laboriously, through fax and phone calls, over three months, finally got my mortgage account set to automatic draft from my bank account.

I received a letter telling me that I would have bimonthly drafts as I requested with an additional principal payment as I also requested. Well, NOT. Even though automatic bi-monthly drafting was to have begun two weeks ago, and two payments should have been drafted by today. However, I was billed a simple monthly payment on July 1 and on Aug. 1, which I had to pay by coupon and check by mail. I have talked with the office, and was assured that everything is set up and operating for the automatic draft. But it is not. The staff evidently hasn't a clue what is going on my account in actuality, all they see is their letter telling me what is supposed to be happening.

So, I think I am simply going to pay off the mortgage and be done with Carrington Mortgage, hopefully. The review by the disabled vet, however, indicates that trying to pay off the mortgage promises to be an equally frustrating experience. Are not mortgage companies regulated? Do they not have to meet standards of the banking industry?

The recorded messages on their phone system advise callers that if payment is not made on time, extra charges will be incurred, and it will be recorded as a 30 day late. (Is this even legal?) So it has purposely been set up to rip people off: "If you don't pay on time, there will be penalties, but we have purposely taken away the means to pay."

I never received anything in the mail from BOA regarding the sale of my mortgage to CMS. After I noticed BOA was not taking out the mortgage on a weekly basis, to pay off early, I had to call. I then started sending to CMS weekly, they placed it in unapplied and 2 months later I was sent a late payment notice. They tried to charge a late fee when they had the money for 2 months. You are not allowed to pay any different from loan amount or it totally confuses them and they throw it all in unapplied. Then my payment went up this month, they claim they reanalyzed the escrow which made it go up. Of course I changed HO Insurance which lowered the premium, not sure why my payment went up when Insurance drops. According to them they have to keep a cushion of over $400.00 when BOA did not need to do that... something fishy there as well.

I have had reps be very condescending, actually laughing on the phone when I asked for a supervisor. I guess because he had no intent to give me someone else. They will not tell you their names, nor can you talk to anyone above customer service. The company is a rip-off and I will be very glad when I refinance and leave this company. I do think it is funny that on the front page of their website - For Realtors - I am a realtor and would NEVER send any of my clients to them.

This summer Bank of America sold my mortgage loan to Carrington. BoA did a review of my mortgage prior to selling to CMS. In May of this year CMS informed me my loan was going up a total of $123 monthly due to tax increases and insurance costs. I am a veteran and have a VA loan. I tried to tell them that BoA had already assessed my taxes and insurance costs with a loan payment amount for the entire years. They told me they made their own assessment and they just did not care.

I am angry at BoA for selling my loan to CMS (a debt collector) because I have excellent credit (or used to until CMS got their filthy hands on my home loan). I am now going to spend 4,000 to 5,000 to refinance my mortgage as I just don't want to deal with CMS customer services or the idiots that run the company. Oh yes, I'm submitting a complaint to the BBB to see if they can do something about those "extra" fees they are collecting - that they say are allowed by the government. Like so many others my mortgage after 5 pleasant years with BOA was transferred to Carrington. My escrow analysis was done in June and lo and behold my mortgage payment increased $80/month or $960. My taxes and insurance paid out of my escrows increased $50. I called Carrington to see what was up... After 45 minutes on the phone among 3 phone calls (the automatic hold drops you after a bit), I was able to speak with a representative who informed me Carrington has the right to have a 2 month 'CUSHION' that was the term he used, in my escrow and BOA did not. I asked "so why do you need it." No answer. So they hold MY money basically to collect interest and I don't get a dime. I also asked did I have a choice in who my mortgage holder was. Obviously no. He then went on with an arrogant attitude almost like they were doing me a favor by paying my taxes. Of course I informed him. WITH MY MONEY.

I have a real hard time with this as I had no choice in who can hold my mortgage but at least I should be given the option of having a so called 'cushion' or not. I have had my mortgage for quite a bit with no issues whatsoever... The payments actually were held or slightly down until now. This company is not consumer friendly and isn't helpful at all. Unfortunately for those that have them, not much we can do, unless someone can help me with a solution.

First off I was without home insurance for count it three months. It was not until my insurance was cancelled did I realize this. Why? Because they failed to make the payment. It took count it 4 months of my insurance company hounding them. Then get this, I get my bill this month and notice two very weird charges for escrow for insurance in the same amount. I called and asked for an itemized report of all charges in and out of the account. I got the runaround. Go figure. Then they raise my mortgage payment and when I ask why they say we can forward you to the escrow people. The same people I talked to a few days back. Anyhow, when I had BOA (Bank of America) they gave me several notices. It did not go up 50.00, it went up nearly 100.00. Probably to cover that double charge out on my insurance.

I AM NOT HAPPY with this company. It appears like they are trying to cheat their customers out of their homes and ruin their credit. VERY FRUSTRATED WITH THEM. Their customer service is VERY, VERY good about giving you the runaround, and transferring your call to this department and that department. NO option to just go to that department when you call in. HEY but you can get the right person every time when you need to give them money. I have never had such a difficult and stressful time with a mortgage service provider.

Please look into their practices. I am ALMOST positive they charge out my insurance on escrow TWICE. If it doesn't get fixed now it never will and just like with the failure to pay home insurance on several accounts. They probably did that to several accounts too. IDK you do the math 1,200 times IDK a min of 100. That is a lot of money snuck out of accounts. So if you are reading this. Please check your statements. I am sure I am not the only one that will notice this. I enclosed a picture of the double charge. And oh there is the payment that I thought I was supposed to make instead of crediting my account for my normal payment, made on time.

They sent me a bill stating I DID NOT PAY MY bill. Nothing stating by the way we did raise your home loan to this amount. You need to pay an additional 108 to fulfill. It makes it look like I did not pay my payment at all. Also in the photo you will see a double charge out for the insurance. I still don't understand the raise in the payment by 100 a month. That is 1200 for the year into escrow. So I am a little confused. I never got a payout check for the 300.00 or something left over in escrow for this year. Please look into the business for the sanity and safety of their customers.

Piggy backing off everyone else, dissatisfied with the company. My mortgage was bought from BOA whom I've been with since 2006 - April 2015 for over 8 years, never been late & never had any problems; prior to BOA I was with JPMorgan from 2000 - 2006 for 7 years. I have never had any problems with them as well. I refinanced in 2006 for lower interstate rate which is how my loan ended up with BOA. Now after 15 years of living in my home with no problems here comes this company (Carrington Mortgage) which I've never heard of until April 1, 2015 when BOA sent correspondence telling me Carrington bought my loan and to forward all payments to them. Never received any correspondence for Carrington mind you until mid April. However after trying to locate this company I finally got my new loan number and setup online payments.

I've paid my mortgage so far from April - June 2015 online & now I've been shut down from the website and can't make my July payment unless I pay the late fee & additional $15 to pay by phone. Now today (7/27/15) I come home to notice stating I owe $1851.93 for what?? I can't get to a supervisor. The customer service reps are clueless as to what they are doing. Nobody calls back to explain what these charges are and the notice doesn't explain what the charges are for. The company can't be a legitimate company. They definitely don't know what they are doing.

With these many complaints how is it that they are in business & why does the government continue to let them remain in business. Times are hard as it is on people for them to come up with bogus charges. I want my mortgage back with a replicable company (BOA, JPMorgan). Banks that's been in the mortgage business know what they are doing & have better customer service. This can't be legal. I'm a single parent paying college tuition for my son. I can't even afford to refinance just to get to another bank. PLEASE US!!

My alleged loan is currently serviced by Carrington Mortgage Services (CMS). My alleged loan was originated with Taylor, Bean & Whitaker and riddled with fraud and contains forgeries, etc. I previously had Bank of America who posted many of my mortgage payments to foreclosure fees instead of to my payment account. Money was embezzled from our escrow and payment account and we have complained with Bank of America and now with Carrington about the inaccurate fraudulent debt to no avail. They continue trying to collect an amount that is not correct. They also continue to report it on my credit even after numerous disputes.

Recently, I requested from Carrington proof of claim under U.C.C. Code Article 3 -3-501 (b) 2 (1) to visually inspect the alleged wet ink Note. Carrington's response was that they decline because the Note is secured and not available for release until debt is consolidated. They also continue to state that they will no longer respond to my requests or inquiries even though they are obligated to do so as the alleged servicer and they also state that my loan is in foreclosure even though there is not yet a foreclosure date (I live in Florida, a judicial state). They have asserted numerous times that they are the holder/investor/owner/servicer and in other letters they have alleged that they are also the trustee. Nonetheless, there are numerous contradictions in all responses I have received.

This foreclosure mill/debt collector (Carrington) is threatening with foreclosure and expects that they will continue this fraud without showing us proof that they are truly the holder in due course or that the "original" wet ink Note actually exists. All they have sent us is a copy of the alleged Note and a Possession Certificate under Florida Statutes by Bank of America, not from them. I can also confirm that the copy of the alleged original endorsed Note is indeed fraudulent but I will not give details now because I will save it for trial.

This alleged loan was "criminally" created and serviced from its inception. My family and I have been suffering monetary, physical and emotional damages for years due to this criminal scheme. This specific complaint is about Carrington Mortgage Services who has been servicing this alleged loan since August 2014 because they have failed to comply with our debt disputes, QWR's and future inquiries and now with our request to visually inspect the Note which we have a legal right to do so. I have all documentation to substantiate my claims against CMS.

I go to catch up and make a double payment and discuss why my wife, who is on the mortgage. Can't talk to them, yet mail comes in her name about the account. The first operator tells me that my online account is active and I would have to pay extra fees to pay it by phone. I asked if they would waive it since I had to discuss other mortgage details. The operator had the personality of a dish rag, and said she could not waive fees. I explained that the website only allows us to pay with the late fees and would not accept only two mortgage payments. She assured me it would. I go online to follow her instructions and the website says it cannot process my payments at all because the account status must meet criteria, yet the operator told me my account was fine.

Back on the phone with them and the next operator tells me they have to notify I.T. Here I am ready for a payment. I asked since that is the only way to pay without processing fees, I again asked if they would waive the $15 processing fee. Again, NO! I told them I am trying to make a payment and they are only offering payment over the phone that costs me MORE money. THEN, she tells me that I cannot pay only mortgage payments minus late fees because the website will not allow, a complete contradiction of what the first operator argued with me, saying could be done. So basically, strong-arming me into paying more money when the only option to pay without processing fees are down, on their end. Ask for a supervisor and conveniently, they are in a meeting. First off, customer service here is the pits. They are short, rude, and very unhelpful. My monthly payment has increased every year with these guys. They keep raising my escrow every year and when I called about it they said it was due to my insurance being increased or my taxes increasing. I called my insurance and they explained to me that my insurance had not increased since taking the policy in 2009. Next I called the county and they explained that the taxes have not changed since I bought the house in 2009. I then called Carrington Mortgage back at which time they rudely explained that it was due to the "cushion" that was required by the federal government for them to have which after researching is a lie. Federal law says that companies are allowed at their discretion to have a cushion that is capped at a certain percent.

As of this year my payment due to escrow has raised my monthly bill by $100.00 per month from what it originally started at when I took the loan. When I figured the insurance and taxes together for the year there is about $400.00 going somewhere that I cannot find. They told me it was rolled over to the next years escrow but the escrow only increases. If there is a $400.00 surplus every year the escrow should decrease not increase. I have considered selling my house if I am not able to refinance to get away from this crooked rude company. My mortgage is a 30 fixed rate also which I have learned means nothing since companies like this can just randomly change your escrow at will. I did not take my loan with this company. My loan was sold to them from Chase Mortgage.

Carrington Mortgage Services recently purchased my home loan from BOA. All I can say that it has not been going well. I was a month behind when I tried to pay for the month I was behind. Carrington demanded that I pay for 3 months. I am only a month behind. I am unable to make any payment until I pay for 3 months. Keep in mind that I am only a month behind. I think their process is completely illegal. They are trying to take my home from me.

NOT HAPPY WITH CARRINGTON: BOA sold our mortgage to Carrington Mortgage Services in April, 2015. I set up payment on my bank online account but saw that they must send Carrington a check, because evidently Carrington is not set up for receiving online payments (duh? in this day and age). Which meant my payment would be late. I tried calling the phone # on my mtg statement to pay the bill over the phone, only to get a recording that the number was no longer in service. I finally got a number and called customer service, which hold time exceeded 5 minutes (I could understand why). So I tried to login on their website @ myloans.carringtonms.com to pay the bill, only to hear that they have no record of my account # (which is on my statement) nor my SS#, nor my name... What the **!!! Now I am inconvenienced by trying to get refinanced just so I can get a new mortgage company.

We are in the same situation as many here, BOA sold to Carrington this past spring. For the most part (fingers crossed), payments have gone o.k. but we have had some emergent medical situations arise and we need to sell this home sooner rather than later. We filed all the information for a hardship and they called my husband to tell him it was incomplete, so we sat down that night and found the loose ends they had requested and submitted them.

Now today, my husband called to attempt speaking with them about it and right after he got through the loan number and why he called, the line magically disconnected. Tried calling again -- nothing. After reading reviews of this company, I am really concerned that they are going to put us into a much worse situation and ruin credit scores. Maybe our saving grace is the confirmation information we received about all the information we submitted. They can't lie about getting that very effectively if we can prove they had it on time… right? Ugh! :(

This is the most worthless company to do business with. You cannot get past the call center at 800-561-4567. If you ask to be transferred to another department you are told they do not take calls or have phones. If you ask to speak with a manager the response is they are in a meeting or not available. If you ask for a return call you are told they are not allowed to make outgoing calls. If you get a name and call back to speak with that person, they no longer exist and you must explain your issue to another person. The only method of communication is to submit in writing your issue to a fax number 949-517-5220 and hope someone responds.

I sent a three-page letter in March, I still have not received a response on that. Now I am trying to obtain the payoff on my property I have been trying to sell for four years. The voice message tells you to fax in writing your request to 866-624-6154. You don't know if they received it or not. Today I get to a voice message at this fax number. Every request in writing takes 3-5 days for response, so they say, if you get one then. I did not select this company, my mortgage was sold to them. I just want to get my payoff so I can close tomorrow and get away from this company forever. Carrington Mortgage should not be allowed to do business in the state of Arkansas due to substandard business practices. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB and any other company that has any authority.

2 Can't make additional principal payments online, only by mailing a check. REALLY?

My Loan was sold to Carrington Mortgage from Chase as well as many others I have been reading about. They didn't have my loan for more than 2 months and raised my mortgage amount owed stating that they needed to cushion my escrow amount by 2 more months hence the reason for additional money owed on my mortgage payment. They stated in the letter if any questions to call, and I did. I was told that they would take that additional payment off my account and saw where it wasn't needed and to give 30 days before I would see the reflection. 3 months later and I didn't see a change back to the loan amount. I finally got a hold of a CSR and I was told that since they could pad the escrow balance of keeping 2 months extra by law that is what they were going to do and that I could look this law up on google.

I requested to be paid interest for that padding they were receiving on my account and they said they didn't have to pay that ... My response is "we will see about that..." I will make sure I do my part whatever it takes to change some laws and make these people be held accountable for them raping my mortgage payment unnecessarily, why they feel the need to make me pad my account other than to benefit their account.

And I will not stop until these banks and lending institutions are not allowed to make such decisions without a just cause. My insurance didn't go up and my taxes didn't go up, so why is my escrow going up for them to have 2 extra months worth of money to set aside??? For what?? Other than their interest bearing accounts... Let's do the math, several hundred thousand loans and increase their escrow balances by 2 extra months, at least 400.00 min. each account.... multiplied by 100,000 loans... That is a lot of money sitting in a big fat interest bearing account somewhere by Carrington Mortgage??? People write your congressman and senator to have them look into this company as well as others. Something is definitely fishy about all this....

Where do I start? I had to retain a lawyer in 2009 because after New Century sold to Carrington apparently I was in a 6.7 adjustable interest. Well as everyone knows the market crashed but my mortgage didn't adjust to a lower payment. It kept going up. They lost 3 hardship packets. They were awful. Filed consumers report BBB finally after my payments hit over 4,000 a month. The attorney got it down to 1,645, not where it had been. But with attorney fees, trying to keep my credit good, doing what could on house payments, I was financially destroyed. Had no choice to file bankruptcy. My home went down in value to 50,000. I was upside down. Now my life dream gone. Then at last minute my loan officer then and who worked for Carrington and Carrington said there is a new program principal reduction/hamp. Remain in home, payments on time, forgive, follow guidelines 10,000, would be taken off principal.

I had no reason to believe otherwise because statement show principal lowered etc. Only problem they kept tacking on amounts owed saying escrow fees. I paid my own property and home owner's insurance. I paid 700.00. I paid another. My loan processor kept asking what's it for. Well then 2,000 was on mortgage statement. ** said "Don't pay it. Send a letter asking why and what." Well after my identity was stolen by the loan processor/ anyway April 2015 I did it. I'm done. I was the happiest but no. My new broker said pull Doc new and old, payment history. She came back and said "your unadjustable arms interest." I said, "No. You must be seeing the loan I fought to get out of." The docs they sent only 2 of 4. I have now been going through hell trying to have this matter resolved. "Oh we will send docs again, reapply for hamp, hardship packet." Nope nothing sent (I explain why should I reapply. I was approved in 2010...) just getting round around.

Fair housing even called Carrington and said, "You set her up to default," and asked, "Why are you charging her those interest rates?" Fair housing said go to attorney general. The person was arrested in 9/11/2014 for identity theft and who worked for Carrington. But I'm the one who is losing everything because of lying thieves. I'm exhausted mentally... I didn't know all the rights I had. I have sent letters after asking for help, asking for reason. Nothing but stress and omg the disrespect of customer service. I'm so disgusted. God's hands now. This company employees, owners, should all lose their homes, be financially ruined, homeless. This is right down wrong. Oh they put my payment in an unapplied account. After giving me 3 different amounts for mortgage payment. And that's just a small amount of what I'm going through. This is absolutely a nightmare.

I immediately called CMS, who said "it's ok, there's no late fee." Really?! It is NOT ok. We do not make late mortgage payments!!! I asked if I could make this payment over the phone and was told "yes, let me transfer you to the correct person."

After holding for 10 minutes, I was told that in order to make a payment it would be a 15 dollar charge. I explained the situation and the representative became very rude, as well as hanging up on me. I called back and was transferred over to three different people, who were ignorant as to how to take a payment. When I finally connected with a supervisor, he tried to charge me the 15 dollars as well. At this point, I gave the phone to my husband, who was not as patient as I had been.

Needless to say, even though this was no fault of us, CMS said they would take the payment without charge this ONE time...it didn't matter if it was their error. Now it is mid-June and our ACH still isn't being automatically withdrawn. In order to pay, we have to either mail a check OR pay the ridiculous 15 dollar fee. This is criminal! I have had the same issues with Carrington, regarding my mortgage, and their inability to provide enough information to make payments. Now, I had damage to my home due to a bad storm. The insurance check came quickly, but now Carrington has to co-sign it. They made me wait a full week before I was able to get a letter from them, telling me what to do with the check. It could have been e-mailed or faxed or sent quicker. I have huge damage to my home: roof off, ceiling leaking, etc., etc. But Carrington insists that I pay for most of the damage up front, and maybe, when they get around to it, they will send me some of my money, after I prove I spent the money. Meanwhile, we are suffering, and Carrington could not care less. They are going to make me wait up to a month before I can get any repairs, and won't give me my money, for funds I have already paid.

I pay a lot for insurance, they send me a check and then Carrington wants to hold the check indefinitely, so that I cannot get the house repaired. So, why bother getting insurance if Carrington is going to keep it from me. They were very uncaring, incredibly difficult to get in touch with (on hold for up to an hour each time), and uncooperative... would not even give out their address to expedite the process. I WANT TO CHANGE MORTGAGE COMPANIES. This one is hideous, has bad customer service and has employees who don't care about fellow human beings. It is appalling. Our Feb payment went through fine but our March and April payment didn't clear due to the wrong bank account # that they say we gave them but they had on file to pull our Feb payment. My husband disputed this and was told that they would have to go back and listen to the recordings and would get back to him, he never got a call back. At one point, he asked to speak to a supervisor and was on hold for 45 minutes only to be sent to a voicemail, and nobody ever got back to him. In the meantime, they keep calling and he keeps telling them to pull the money.

Finally in May, he gets someone on the phone that tells him that we owe for 3 months, March, April and now May but we have over $500 of unapplied money that they will apply and we will be caught up. Whew! We checked our bank account and the money came out so we thought we were good... WRONG!!! We got a call a week later that those WEREN'T our unapplied funds, and now we owe that back!! I just got off the phone with them because we owed May still and now June. May's payment because they won't apply partial payments and when they took the $500 away from us, that's what it ended up being... a partial payment.

I asked the guy that I was speaking to if I could speak to a supervisor and he said that they are really busy and not available but that he would help me. He even said that it was hard for him to look through our account to try to determine what goes where. When I told him that I wanted to make the payment with him, he told me that it would be an additional $15 dollars. Ummmm what?!?!? He put me on hold to see if the fee could be waived and came back with this "unfortunately at this time, my supervisor said we cannot waive the fee." Do you mean the supervisor that I asked to talk to but wasn't available is miraculously available to NOT waive a fee?!? (This is not including the fee they are trying to charge us for May's payment.) I have a strict budget where most of my bills are setup as balanced billing so I'm able to control my monthly expenses. After all monthly bills are paid, I'm left with a minimal amount for purchasing things like make-up, clothes and for entertainment. The fifty extra dollars they are taking on to my monthly payment is unexpected and will have an negative impact for me; forcing me to either adjust my grocery list and/or lose out on having a night out with friends. Fifty dollars to me is mere 1/10 of a cent to corporations like Carrington.

I'm not versed on escrow and associated interest, but I wonder how much interest they will have accumulated from the add'l millions of dollars they are collecting from this cushion collection and how that revenue will be distributed or utilized and on for whose benefit? Whatever the case may be, sad part is that we are stuck with this expense and with them and there isn't much we can do and they know it.

About 3 weeks later I finally received my first contact from Carrington. Seeing the complaints about late fees on being transferred, I'm glad I was proactive!

After about three months, I suddenly couldn't log in, with the site claiming I was entering the wrong password, and it offering security questions I knew I had never set up. So another call, and oops, they had updated their site login, and my current info was now invalid. Absolutely no advanced warning, and again, I had to be the proactive one to figure it out. This weekend I apparently forgot my password, and had my account locked. I had to wait until during the day on Monday to call to get it unlocked, only to wait 25 minutes on hold. I then had to reconfirm all my contact info, which was good, as they had my phone number wrong. Finally, password was reset, and the account was unlocked. These people are the WORST! I was a Bank of America customer whose loan was sold to this company I have never even heard of! Their website for payment is UNFRIENDLY # 1 - so I can't use it! They are of no help whatsoever when you call them - they only proceed to tell you what it is they are allowed to do by law! Are you kidding me??? They decided they wanted an escrow cushion from me which I have never had to have before with Bank of America - my payment went up by $180 a month!!! Are they kidding me!!! I have enough in there to cover my taxes etc and have never had a shortage - I asked her why she felt that they were entitled to hold on to my savings and collect interest on it when that should be ME!!! I was so pissed!

The best I could get her to do was divide the cushion over 36 months instead of 12 - Meanwhile I am going to see about refinancing - I said "just because you "can" do something by law doesn't make it right or that you should do it." She was like a robot. I asked her who was above her I could speak to that was authorized to waive this cushion. She said no one - it was company policy. They are the worst ever and let's spread the word everyone!!! To say I am unhappy with this new mortgage company is an understatement!

In 2013 I became disabled and fell behind on my mortgage. They did help by lowering the interest and payment but I still could not make them. I was finally determined disabled and received a back payment. That same day I called them ready to catch up to be current and they said they would get a hold of me in a week. Two weeks went by then I got two certified letters saying my house was to be put up on the court house loan on the 20th of may and it did. Two days before I got those letters I got a letter from a law firm with reinstate amount on it. So I called them the same day as the auction to make sure. They told me to look for a new place to live. Why wouldn't they accept my money when I had it all? Now I'm under a great deal of hardship.

Prior to the transfer Bank of America (my letter of notification was dated 3/18/15) applied to HUD to have the MIP on my loan to be discharged. They also had done an Escrow account review. The MIP was $68.69. According to the letter sent 3/13/2015 the Escrow payment was $194.26 and as of May 1, 2015 would be $108.99. I currently have this home rented to family who are paying the mortgage via an Escrow company. I presented all the letters from Bank of America and Carrington to the Escrow Company. The payment was made on May 1, 2015 to the Escrow Company and the check cleared on May 11, 2015. Then I received a letter dated May 17, 2015 from Carrington stating no monies had been received for the May payment. I called Carrington and was again told no monies had been received. I informed the customer service rep.

I knew that was false and she finally admitted that the monies sent were put into a hold account because the payment was not a complete amount. I tried to explain the facts as I knew them. However the rep. kept telling me to stop talking and listen to her. She also stated that she was trying to keep me from being foreclose on. She went on to state if I didn't make a payment immediately she couldn't help me. She demanded I make the full May payment, I asked about the funds already received and she finally agreed I only needed to make up the difference. I make a payment and then was told there would be a $15.00 fee for Western Union to process the payment. When I objected to using Western Union she told me I have no choice. I then asked to speak to with a supervisor and was told NO! She said she would have someone call me that was three days ago.

I called Bank of America to ask for their assistance with resending the changes to Carrington. I was told they had sold the mortgage and couldn't do anything more. I attempted to fax all the letters and documents to the number I was given by the customer service rep. only to discover it wasn't a working number. So I called Carrington again and refused to give them any information except I needed a number to the research department. I then faxed to that number and was successful. I am angry with Carrington for their lack of customer service and obvious attempts to obtain money they are not entitled to, and to Bank of America for their refusal to even attempt to help resolve and issue of paperwork. The Ironic part is that I received a check from Carrington noted as a refund on my Escrow account.

I called BoA who gave me CMS number. CMS finally sent me a letter on 13 April saying that they took over my account on 2 April. (The letter was dated 6 April) It only took 2 months to get them to get my automatic withdrawal set up. (Why do I send payments to one state AZ, but paperwork to another CA?) I've been talking to a certain individual about refinancing due to a divorce. He had me fax documents to him which I did. I called him 2 days later, of course he never received the documents. He told me to fax them again, he'd look them over and call me back. I gave him 2 full days, called and left a message for him to call back. It's been 5 days of me calling, leaving messages and even E-mailing this individual, and I have had no response at all. Terrible Customer Service.

I don't even have an account with this bank and they are driving me crazy. I am in the process of purchasing a home from a seller whose loan was sold from BofA to Carrington. We were supposed to close on May 21, 2015. The day before closing, we were informed that the attorney still had not received the payoff info from Carrington. My realtor, my bank and the seller's realtor have all tried to contact the bank only to be told that they only communicate by fax and that requests have to be faxed to the office for payoff info. After sending a number of faxes and was told they would receive a response in 48 hours, we sent more faxes and was told 72 hours, then more and was told 3-5 days before our requests would be addressed. It has now been almost 2 weeks after the initial closing date and we still have not received the payoff and mailing address where to send the check.

Now the seller is being told that he owes an extra $17,000 in interest before they can release the loan. He ended up having to hire a lawyer to contact their legal department just to get a response. My realtor ended up finding out the contact info for the CEO and informing him of what all we have had to go through. My family is currently in temporary housing waiting to close because we have already sold our house and was supposed to be moved out by June 1st and we still don't have a closing date. I have already had to dish out about $1000 just for rentals and storage waiting to close on this house and it's all because of Carrington. I advise you to stay as far away from this bank if possible if you want to keep your sanity. Not sure why a company would want to treat people like this. It is a disgrace!!!

They kept telling me that it takes time to process and I would know something soon. I never missed a payment, but they kept telling me to pay the amount agreed upon by Chase before they took my mortgage. I ended up filing a chapter 7 bankruptcy, and when I call Carrington to see what was going on with my modification, they told me I never had one started with Chase, that I was set up on a payment plan to catch up on what I was behind. I was never behind! Now they are wanting me to fax them everything I had from Chase because they closed my modification but never once called me. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with.

My loan was transferred from Bank of America to Carrington Mortgage in April. First, BOA is bad at customer serviced, you can't understand some of their customer service people. That being said, Carrington is so bad they makes BOA look good. We made our first payment online and everything seemed fine. So, we thought. Fast forward to May, this is where the nightmare started. I logged into my account online and it said that my loan was a problem loan. First problem sign. I mean, I was up to date on my loan payments.

So, I called the lovely people at Carrington to find out was wrong. This is where the incompetence started. They said that I was two months behind. I told them "try again". Guy looked at his screen and said, "oh yeah, you're good till June". I told him "try again genius." So, after being put on hold again the person came back and said "yep, you're up to date on your loan". I said "thank you". Then the person on the other end said that I was in a loan modifications. I said, "try again". I am not in a loan modification program. We rejected the offer we received from BOA. The person seemed befuddled. Moving right along, the person from Carrington said "we will have someone call" me later that day. Okay, fine. Whatever.

At the end of the day after not being called back. I was a little upset with these lovely people and I called them back. And was told they will call me on Monday. Again, no call. Called them back on Tuesday and got nowhere. I also got a registered letter in the mail telling me that my loan was past due. Told the person on the line that your company is a mess. I called again today. Apparently, they don't put any notes in your file. I asked the question, "how can you guys screw this up so bad?" So after another call, I now have to decline a loan modification. The loan was never modified. This makes no sense.

They instructed me to meet someone on the middle of the street to sign the document. It was done on the parking lot of a shopping mall over the hood of my car. Trying to read the document, found out that the terms and conditions were higher as specified. They created a balloon loan extending the payment from 30 to 40 years. I complained to the person who handed me the contract to modify the loan. She said I had to sign or will lose my opportunity. Any corrections could be done later on. I called them many times, even sent certified letters to let them know that what they were doing is against the law. Good luck with it. This is a subsidiary of the Deutsche Bank and they think they can do whatever they want.

I paid them the difference over the phone and then charged me 15.00 extra to take my money over the phone.

It was BOA who sent the letter incredibly late (3/27/15) & gave me the option to pay them by 4/1 or any payments after that date needed to go to CMS. The letter specifically advised that if CMS did not provide an account number, to use the BOA number that my mortgage was assigned to. The letter also gave a mailing address. I did make a payment WITHOUT A COUPON or PAYMENT STUB along with my BOA account number before 4/15/15 and voila -- it arrived on time, payment was posted, NO PROBLEM!

I've called CMS customer service and was treated with respect! They are giving all BOA customers 2 months to "adjust" to the changes without any penalties or being reported for late payments. CMS DOES NOT HAVE TO DO THIS! Their website was easy to find & navigate and is so much easier than BOA! Payments can be made right up until close of business on the 15th of every month FREE OF CHARGE! And if the 15th falls on a weekend, no problem! This is so unlike BOA where you have to have an account with them to get FREE electronic payments and if you pay them from the 10th through the 15th, you get charged a fee, blah, blah, blah. Call CMS and find out about how the sale of over 120,000+ mortgages from BOA to CMS was a last minute deal that left CMS scrambling. I'm so happy my mortgage was sold to CMS as the past 10 years of BOA had been awful!

Since it was now 4/15/15 and no check, I asked for a review and stop payment. I was informed that I would need to wait until 4/20/15 for additional information. Called twice and no information available. Called again on 5/4/15 and was told computers are down. Called on 5/15/15 and was told the money was returned to escrow and now they would have to review account. I do not even trust that the check was cut in the first place. Warning - check your statements because I believe Carrington will try to keep these over payments.

My mortgage with BOA was sold to Carrington with no clarification about payment process. I received a letter dated 4/9/15 about mortgage being sold to Carrington. On 4/17/15 received a letter stating non receipt of April's payment. After numerous days and calls Was informed that the automatic payment set up with BOA no longer existed. I went to a bank and got 2 bank checks for $2000 each (one for April and the other for May) and sent it overnight mail and someone had to sign for it. It was received 4/28/15 and signed for but they can't find my payment. This place is a joke and shame on whoever sold my mortgage to these people. I have never been late when I was with BOA and I always spent an extra $400 to go towards the principal. I filed a complaint with to BBB today.

My 2009 Mortgage was sold to Carrington on April 2, 2015. I have to say, so far... so good! Once I got the paperwork from Carrington, with my new account number, it was easy to set up my online account; My first payment to Carrington was due May 1, 2015. Sent payment through my bank's online bill pay on 4/28, posted 4/29. Payment amount didn't and hasn't changed. No problems with the escrow account. They were timely on paying the premium for my homeowners (aka hazard) insurance and property taxes (both due in April 2015). Trust me, I came here when my loan was first sold, read the reviews and was scared to death! But so far, it has been a very seamless transition. Carrington's website is very easy to navigate and has all of the information I need.

Carrington penalizes for payment greater than the minimum unless I send a check through snail mail. Why can't I add additional principal to my payment online for free? They want $15 for the privilege of giving them extra money. I've never been late on a payment. Is that even legal?

Bank of America sold my loan to Carrington Mortgage Services on April 2, 2015. I received no notification of this transaction. On April 3rd, I couldn't log into my account. This is when BOA customer service told me of the loan being sold. I immediately contacted Carrington and they told me they acquired over 177,000 new loans and haven't had time to mail the info out yet, but no late charges would be assessed. I had another question with them today which frustrated me to no end! Come to find out they have HORRIBLE reviews!! I can clearly see why.

The first rep sounded like he just rolled out of bed and was mumbling everything he said. He gave me false information and couldn't answer a few questions I had about Carrington's online payment policy. I finally told him he was being very rude and also asked him to speak clearly so I could understand him. I'm 37 years old, it was not my hearing or his Mic (which he excused it on), it was slurred speech which should be unacceptable in a call center position. I was told to write to the research department, but couldn't get the address or numbers for them. I called BOA to verify my information on my account was correct, which it was.

The 2nd rep at Carrington I spoke to gave me the same wrong information and argued with me over what BOA and my paperwork was showing me! I was again told to write to the research department but couldn't get their info! When I asked to speak to a manager, I was put on a hold. She came back to the line and told me none were available "sorry" in a snide voice. I told her "I'll wait because after dealing with 2 reps., I'm speaking to a manager". She put me on a hold, transferred the call, then it went to an unknown voice mail box then hung up.

Third call to Carrington, I asked immediately to speak to a manager. She was going to transfer me then for whatever reason told me she can help me instead. Unbelievable that you cannot get a manager on the line here! The 3rd rep did give me the correct info, but it was a heated conversation to say the least and I had to state exactly what my question was repeatedly because she kept giving info that wasn't being asked for. She told me she'd look into the other calls and speak with her manager about them giving false information about my account and both of them giving false info about their payment policies. STAY AWAY FROM THIS "BANK" AT ALL COSTS! I'm going to look into refinancing my loan to get rid of these people.

I never received it and contacted Carrington to inquiry what my new account # was and the mailing address. I paid the April mortgage payment on time, based on the escrow analysis from Bank of America and the April statement. I contacted Carrington the second week of April to assure my payment was applied and was informed it was not and being held by Carrington because they said they didn't receive all the documentation from Bank of America. I contacted Carrington 3 more times, speaking with two supervisors to resolve the issue. I received a notice from Carrington that stated my loan was in arrears and it would affect my credit history even though I paid the April payment on time and Carrington did not apply the payment to my loan.

This organization is obviously not providing service to their consumers and are trying to rip people off who don't have the savvy or knowledge to advocate for themselves. My last call was on 4/29/15. A service representative, ** spoke with me and finally applied the payment that had been sitting since the beginning of April. Looking at the issues that several consumers have had, it's clear that Carrington has systemic issues and it appears they have violated Federal banking rules and regulations. I have taken action and filed a formal complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) at www.cfpb.gov, and urge other consumers to file similar complaints so these issues can be resolved. It appears that Carrington's practices need to be audited and corrective actions implemented immediately to correct these serious violations.

Chase sold our mortgage to Carrington last year. They did not send us any information for making payments which caused us to be nearly 3 months late. After getting that sorted out, we began making biweekly payments. This month I got a statement saying we were $998 behind. Our last 2 payments were applied to our principal instead of our monthly payment, no explanation why and they have never done that before. In addition, they are charging us $60 in late fees even though, if we were late, should only be $15 according to their own correspondence. Been trying to get through to a real person without much luck. Frustrating. I assume this has happened in retaliation to a complaint to consumer affairs we made due to them improperly reporting our account to the credit bureaus.

This has been my Mortgage company for almost 2 years now. I have nothing but dreadful interaction with them. Starting with trying to schedule an automatic twice a month bank draft. They gave me such a run around about it. When I was finally able to sign on to a bank draft, I had an issue with my bank account. One payment did not process when it was supposed to. They cancelled my twice a month automatic bank draft payment and reported my account as late to the credit bureau. Tried to speak with a manager about it, and got nowhere because they won't get on the phone.

Then the next issue was that they increased my monthly payment by an additional $550 a month. When I tried to inquire, they told me that my taxes went up. I mean, who has $550 just laying around these days. I called and tried to talk to a manager about it, but he or she refused to get on the phone and asked the representative to tell me that he will spread my tax payment over 3 years. I am so looking forward to moving on with another company. They are the worst mortgage company ever. They prey on people's vulnerability and take advantage of them.

I was a victim of the Bank of America sell off of my mortgage to Carrington. I received a letter 5 days before it was scheduled to happen (thanks for the heads up B of A!). I start calling Carrington to find out my account number so I can set up my account and pay the mortgage seamlessly as promised. "Sorry, we haven't received the old account information from B of A yet so please be patient. We'll send you a letter with all the information you need soon." Ok, so I wait till the 1st and call again. Same story. "Give us another week and we should have everything in the system". Ok, wait another week. The letter I was promised in the mail still has not come and upon calling a 3rd time, they give me the account number.

So, on the 6th of the month I try to set up my account on their website. "ERROR, account does not exist". Big surprise. A 4th phone call - "Please be patient while we get everything in the system" once again. On the 14th, I get the letter I was promised with my account number and Welcome to Carrington speech. Let's try the account again - nope, same ERROR. A 5th phone call finally got the account cleared for me to create the online account for payments. Here's where it gets fun - before I can get the money transferred from B of A to my new checking account, close that account, and get ready to make a payment to Carrington, I've got nasty phone calls starting harassing me multiple times a day wanting to know why my payment is late.

According to the SEC rules, there are no penalties or late fees for 60 days when a transfer like this happens so technically I could skip the 1st 2 payments and pay them 3 payments at once on the 3rd month. But now they're harassing me with nasty phone calls? The funniest part of all is that the 23rd day of the month, I finally get my first billing statement from them showing that I'm 2 months behind in my mortgage with $0.00 in late fees assessed. How funny! I've now begun the process of refinancing my mortgage with another lender to get away from these people before they ruin my credit rating. After reading all these negative reviews, I can totally understand everyone's frustration. I'd NEVER recommend this lender for any business.

I was placed on hold for approximately 15 minutes and I ended up hanging up the telephone because I felt that this customer service representative had probably forgotten about me and moved on to the next caller. My first impression of this company is less than favorable. If you have a choice in a mortgage loan provider, I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you DO NOT go with Carrington Mortgage Services. I have been a Bank of America customer for 40+ years. In March, they informed my mortgage was sold to Carrington Mortgage Services, in spite of the fact that BoA sends me letters all the time begging me to refinance through them. I went online to the website provided by CMS to follow instructions on how to set up automatic payments. It is not easy to find, and it listed Western Union as the transfer agency so I called the 1-800 number on the web site.

After putting in account info, I finally got an option to talk to someone living **, who then proceeded to ask me all the same info again. She could not understand why I was unhappy about having to duplicate information. She walked me through the web page very clumsily, and got me back to where I was already. That is when I found out I can not add extra escrow or principal to my payments, unless I send them a check. Seriously - a check in the age of electronic payments? I am going to go have to refinance, as there is no way I am putting up with this crap for 10 more years...

Updated on 07/24/2015: In March 2015, my BoA mortgage was sold by Ginnie Mae to Carrington. I got a letter from them explaining how to make the mortgage payments, and a second letter explaining how to make mortgage payments, which was not the same as the first letter. Between the 2 letters, I was able to figure out how to get to their website to set up account information. That was the last, and only, good information I have gotten from this poor excuse for a company.

First of all, their website is horrible. It is hard to figure out what to do to make your payments. Secondly, you can only make the loan payment in full on the website. If you wish to pay an additional amount, you have two options: send them a check in the mail or incur a fee to pay over the phone. BoA allowed me to easily make additional payments on-line. When I called to complain about this in April, I was told, after an argument that lasted 5 minutes, that I could make the payment over the phone this one time. When I called again in May, I was told it was not allowed without incurring the fee. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told one would call me back the next day. A week later, still no contact from a supervisor.

Thirdly, the customer service here is horrible. I tried calling today to speak to a supervisor, was on-hold for 30 minutes before talking to a human, then told they needed to know the name of the supervisor. How do I know the name of your supervisor? When I told the lady I did not know, she hung up on me. As of July 24th, they have added features to the on-line payment that appear to allow you to make additional principal or escrow payments, but they do not actually allow you to do so. A CSR told me that it will only work if you are in the month for which your payment is due - so I have to wait until Aug 1st to make an August payment. That seems ridiculous, but I will test it...

My loan was sold to Carrington from Bank of America. I was trying for a loan assistance through BOA at the time, my loan was sold AUG 2014. My husband was injured on the job and we have been fighting Social Security for 4.5 years. As a mother with 4 kids and the only income, things were tough. After being in the final steps of the loan mod with BOA when my loan changed hands I had to start all over again.

Carrington bank never sent my welcome letter. During all this waiting time with BOA they wouldn't accept payments then Carrington wouldn't accept payments which only made me fall further behind. So I finally got the medication papers from Carrington to help with lowering payments and be able to keep my home I have fought so hard. Well my house payment is 694.00 month. Carrington loan mod is to have my loan to increase to 1730.00 month. They want me to pay 2.5 month in one month. THIS IS INSANE TO ME!! Yes I know it’s my fault I fell behind, but I didn't choose for my husband to be hurt the way he was. Now we are many many months behind cause I will not pay that amount. This place sends a monthly statement every month and has never called us once. When you call you get no returned call back.

After reading all the reviews I do not feel comfortable sending all this money and getting caught up. So many people said they was still foreclosed on after paying!! MY RECOMMENDATIONS - STAY AWAY FROM THIS FRAUD OF A BANK!!!! This bank has not sent one piece of information about foreclosure.... I’m very sad that this bank will not work and be in contact now that we have a large settlement coming any day due to winning SS hearing after 4.5 years.

RUN WHILE YOU CAN AS LONG AS YOU HAVE GOOD CREDIT BEFORE THEY RUIN IT AND YOU WON’T BE ABLE TO REFINANCE!! I ALSO RECOMMEND CHECKING IN TO FLAGSTAR BANK. THAT’S WHO WE FIRST HAD WHEN WE BOUGHT OUR HOUSE AND REFINANCED TO HELP WHEN ECONOMY WENT TO CRAP. THEY WAS FABULOUS.

Normally, due to my paycheck cycles and a standard grace period BOA allows, I was planning to make my payment sometime after the 5th. I received no letters from Carrington, so I forwent my plans and made the payment to BOA on the 1st. 15 days later (!), I received the introductory letter from Carrington. The letter arrived on the 15th, was dated the 6th, and said, "Bank of America is now accepting your payments" (5 days after the 1st!). "(BOA) will stop receiving payments from you after the April 1st...CMS...will start accepting payments...on April 02..."

My second issue is that I cannot schedule a payment with CMS. The payment must be manually made on the exact day through Western Union. The payment system also does not give any indication of what the grace periods are or any charges for payments beyond any grace period. I really get the impression that this service is making their system less friendly and more susceptible to errors that will find the mortgagee making late payments, etc.

Bank of America sold loan to Carrington Mortgage Services and they never sent any information. Every time I try to called it's heavy call volume and after 20 minutes I just hang up. Bank of America says it will be a smooth transition and they will help out with it but just a new loan number could help out and Carrington shouldn't take on new loans if they can't handle the volume.

I received a notice of servicing transfer from Carrington mortgage services on April 10, 2014. The notice dated that my original Bank of America loan had been sold to Carrington Mortgage as of April 2, 2014. The letter was dated April 6, 2014. This seemed a little suspicious and very unprofessional to me, so I preceded to research this new mortgage company. This is what led me to read the Consumer Affairs reviews and the BBB comments. When reading the BBB comments I've discovered that this mortgage company is not being completely held accountable.

Those of you who are having issues with this company should make sure to properly lodge your complaints via the BBB to ensure accuracy of the Complaints and hold this company accountable. This will eventually prevent other consumers from having the same experiences as you. The other thing that I discovered when I contacted Bank of America was that it was not Bank of America's fault that the loan or loans were sold to Carrington, it was the action of the loan investors. My particular loan investor is GNMA 2 Bana, whom I am in the process of contacting today. I've filed a complaint with bank of America and I will also be filing Complaints through the BBB. I encourage you all to do the same.

When I contacted Carrington after they had bought up Chase's Mortgage accounts, I tried to have my payment date changed because I am on social security and I am partially disabled. My check comes on the last Wednesday of every month which I am sure most people on social security are. I was told by a very rude and non caring want to move on to the next customer, there wasn't anything they or she could do, have a nice day. Worst experience ever and something needs to be done about. I am unable to hire an attorney at this time and shouldn't have to. I want future people, who are looking to refinance or buy a house, make this company is the last place you consider or better off stay where you're at.

In mid March 2015, Bank of America sent a letter advising that Carrington Mortgage would be servicing our mortgage loan. It is now April 14th, and we have received nothing from Carrington Mortgage. I called 2 days in a row for my new loan number, only to be placed on hold for 20+ minutes on each occasion... I was advised yesterday by a 'not so friendly' individual that my new loan number is on the paperwork that was sent to our house, but there would be a 60 day grace period in case my payment does not get in on time...

Does this also mean we won't be incurring interest on this mortgage? I'm sure it doesn't! I attempted to also use the 'Spanish speaking' option and the automated prompts only allow me to speak to someone if I either have an extension number, or have my new loan number. So pray tell, how am I supposed to make a payment if I can't even get my loan number? I am very frustrated with the lack of transition between Bank of America and Carrington Mortgage; they really left us holding the bag on this.

I have not heard or read one positive review of this company. Have not even been with them a month or even made one payment, and I feel I need to find someone else to handle my loan. I made the mistake of choosing Carrington after speaking and meeting with almost a dozen other companies. I chose Carrington because unlike the banks and others, this particular loan officer actually took the time to review EVERYTHING in my file and on my credit before giving me a pre-approval. He immediately told me what to do to raise my credit, offered to do the re-score and was in constant contact with me and my agent. Everything was perfect until the week before we were scheduled to close. Week before close: My agent and I found out that they never submitted the appraisal! Apparently, the loan processor had been having health issues and did not get to it - although my loan officer had been telling me that my loan was in underwriting this entire time.

Week of close: We were scheduled to close Friday. On Monday, I get an email from my loan officer saying that the IRS rejected their request for my transcripts. He sends me a form that I signed a month PRIOR and I see that they listed not only the wrong name, but also the wrong address. They had to resend me the correct form 3x before getting it right, and then we were at the mercy of the IRS. Thanks again to the loan processor for ** it up. By the end of that week, we find out that my loan officer up and quit. I swear I can't make any of this up! This all happened 2 days before closing... so obviously, we didn't close.

Week AFTER scheduled close: By this time they are trying to catch up on my file, Thursday afternoon the underwriter comes back and asks for yet another document at the last hour. We didn't close this week either, and the new loan officer that they assigned to me was going on vacation that next week (which we hated because he was the ONLY one that helped me at this point). The underwriter put my file at the bottom of the pile and I was yet again, starting over. We didn't close this week either.

Week 2 after scheduled close: At this point we were begging the sellers of the home to be patient, as all of this was not my fault. I submitted all of my documents prior to even getting my pre-approval, so for weeks I had nothing to do, and yet we completely missed our contract close date anyway thanks to Carrington. We had to cancel the movers, cancel everything, because we were not sure if we would close at all. But Carrington promised we would close this week, so my husband and I took Friday off, and got dressed to go to the closing attorney's office. As we were getting dressed, I get a phone call from the branch manager saying that they are having trouble verifying my employment. Yes, employment verification happening, HOURS before close. Our hard stop deadline with the sellers was at 5pm that day. By 1pm, the closing attorney cancelled our appt because she had not received the files.

I received an email at 6:30 pm that my loan was cleared and the documents were sent. Finally, we would be able to close on Monday. NEW closing day: As I'm signing my documents, Carrington calls my agent to tell him that none of the closing cost offered by the sellers will be used. Yes, you read that right - all of this as I am SIGNING the closing papers! At this point, I am LIVID!!!!! I told my agent to hang up, I just want to get through this and be done. My husband and I finally closed on our home that day... But wait, Carrington does not release funds until they receive all of the signed closing papers and have reviewed. Ah yes, I could not pick up my keys until the next day.

New home buyers, I know that most of the complaints about this company are regarding loan transfers and loans being sold. Take the advice of someone who just went through the buying process with Carrington. Avoid them at all cost.

Customer service has been kind and outstanding. No problems at all just waiting on my welcome packet which should come soon. I expected a bit of a wait given the amount of loans they have taken over to service. I do hope there are others who have had good experiences with them also..

I met with a Bank of America vice president to talk about what was going on and although she was very willing to help as much as she could, the only information that she could get was a Carrington Mortgage address which turned out to be a P.O. box. We also found out during the meeting that if I wanted to get my mortgage transferred back to Bank of America, I'd have to refinance. Today, I went onto the Carrington Mortgage website and discovered many unsatisfactory ratings. I don't want to lose my home and I am at this point terrified. I think that Bank of America and Carrington Mortgage need to be held accountable for such poor customer service.

Bank of America sold my mortgage to Carrington Mortgage. I waited 3 weeks for correspondence from Carrington so that I could make my April payment (I have had loan since March 2008 and NEVER made a late payment). But nothing. So I called Saturday 4/11/15 to get the loan number and information to pay online or via check by phone. The representative, **, told me that customer service would have to help me. He took my phone number and told me they would call back.

I logged onto the website he gave me for payment info and could not make register as my Bank of America loan number was "not valid." I also sent an email to Carrington requesting the same info. No reply Monday from either. So when I get home from work, I call Carrington, whose customer service hours are listed as 8am to 8pm, Monday through Friday. Even though I call at 7:08 pm, I get a recording that says "call back during normal business hours."

What do I do now? I know with Bank of America, the grace period was only until the 15th each month. In desperation, I even tried to log onto Bank of America as the letter from them says that they can not deny payment during the initial 60 day transfer period. But their websites says that I "no longer have any open accounts." Help please!

It's now 4/13/15 and I haven't received any loan info. How am I supposed to make a payment? BofA won't anymore payments. I was lucky to receive the phone number for Carrington from BofA, but no new loan number or payment info. BofA told me that Carrington will waive any late penalties for 60-days and not to worry. I just don't understand what is taking so long to receive my loan info. I guess they want people to go into default and collect more interest from us. BofA wouldn't tell me why they sold my loan to this pathetic company, but I bet that it's because I filed for bankruptcy in 2010. I always kept my house payment current because it was the only thing I wanted to keep.

We also have had our mortgage with Bank of America sold to Carrington Mortgage. We only found out when we tried to make our payment with Bank of America and were told that we were now with Carrington. We called that day to make our payment and were told that we had to wait until they received our information from Bank of America with whom we were also trying for a home loan modification and were fully complying with the requests for our financial information. Since I am self employed they requested many different items all with a date for return. Carrington knew nothing about this but told me to send out the remaining documents right away.

We called them every couple days to see if we could make our payment and were told finally almost a week later that we could but now we owed for two payments and late fees incurred during the time we were with BOA. This was almost impossible but I knew this was not right and that this company could not be trusted. I recorded the conversation while she put me on hold for fifteen minutes recalculating the amount several times, even though we had already been told the amount two days prior by another person whose name we wrote down and when we mentioned the previous amount and the lady's name they knew nothing of that either. The amount kept changing and then finally after more than 20 minutes we were able to make our two payments and late fees.

This company is shady and I will be recording all conversations and photo copying all my payments sent by mail. Oh and Thank You Bank of America for all your help, first by not allowing us to at least complete our process of the home loan modification program we were in the middle of and two for not sending us any notification that our mortgage was being sold, we also have not received our welcome package and it has been now two weeks.

One month I was late and I made my payment on the 18 and then I got a statement showing I had two payments due so I called them and they kindly advised that they did receive my payment and that the notice was sent before they received it. No problems and great customer service. I will definitely be recommending Carrington to my daughter and her husband who were recently married and are looking to buy a home.

Carrington Mortgage Services purchased our mortgage loan in November of 2014, they refused to accept automatic payments, and when we send them a check it takes weeks to clear, creating late fees. In November, Carrington performed an escrow analysis and added the appropriate costs to our payment but failed to notify us so we were under paying by $38.52. In April of 2015, we received paperwork about failure to pay and foreclosure. After no less than 5 calls to them we were able to determine the amount to pay to catch up the loan ($91.00) and paid, the check was cashed on April 6, 2015, but on April 8, 2015 we were told that we were still delinquent. We called on April 9, 2015, 4 separate times to resolve the issue and EVERY SINGLE TIME we were hung up on.

The last call, after stating the reason for the call, and that we had been hung up on either during transfer or while on hold, the representative acknowledged that we had called 3 times, then said "hello...hello...hello, Oh they must have hung up again”, and hung up on me. I feel that not only are they conducting business unfairly, they are deceptive and creating late fees and other problems for us and possibly other consumers. I purchased my home in 2009 and have NEVER been late with a payment! With Carrington, every single month there has been an issue and fees and no resolution. They need to be investigated!
