Pros
  • Fees can be reduced or waived
  • Free financial resources
Cons
  • Limited in-person services

What is Apprisen?

Along with financial counseling and debt management plans, Apprisen offers many free resources, including a debt test to help you determine if you are managing your debt correctly, and financial workshops on topics like retirement planning and managing student loans.

It also offers a free guide on the pre-filing bankruptcy process.

How does Apprisen work?

After a free consultation, one of Apprisen’s financial specialists will work with you to create a budget review and show you how the debt management plan works for your unique situation.

Once you agree on the plan’s terms, you will make one monthly payment to Apprisen, and the company will then send your payments to the creditors. Apprisen works with creditors to create a manageable repayment plan through reduced or stopped interest and fees and lower monthly payments.

It is online and accessible 24/7.

How much does Apprisen cost?

For the debt management program, fees are determined by your state and income. However, you will never pay more than $45 for the one-time setup fee and $45 per month. Additionally, if you are in the midst of financial hardship, fees might be reduced or waived.

Bankruptcy counseling costs $25 for individuals, but it can also be reduced or waived for those suffering financial hardship. Apprisen also offers an in-person post-bankruptcy group workshop that costs $50.
