Alleviate is a good option for individuals drowning in debt. This can mean that the individual has over $10,000 in debt, multiple credit cards at or near the credit limit or is on the brink of declaring bankruptcy. Additionally, if someone has suffered unexpected financial hardship, such as a job loss or medical emergency, using Alleviate can help you get your finances back on track and avoid piling on more debt.
However, if your debt-related issues are related to secured debts, such as car loans or mortgages, or are mandatory debts, like alimony or student loan debt, Alleviate will not be able to help you.
Alleviate services
Alleviate services works with individuals to reduce the debt they owe. After a consultation, you will be given an estimate of how long your process will take.
You will need to stop paying your creditors and instead deposit an agreed-upon amount to a Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation-insured account administered by Debt Pay Gateway. Once you have enough money to settle your first debt, then Alleviate will contact your creditor to negotiate the debt payoff. The whole debt repayment process will vary per individual but typically takes 24 to 48 months.
Alleviate requirements
To qualify, you must have at least $10,000 in unsecured debt or $500 in unsecured debt per creditor. Additionally, you must prove significant financial hardship, which is done by ceasing payments to your debts. Note that this can have negative implications and your credit score will be affected and creditors will change your status to delinquent and then to collections.
You will also be required to open a savings account with Alleviate’s chosen savings account and deposit money monthly. This money will be used for debt negotiations. Alleviate will not start any debt negotiations until your account has reached a suitable payoff amount.
Alleviate costs
Alleviate doesn't charge for a consultation, and you will not be charged a fee until your debt is settled. Alleviate does not list the percentage fee it charges, stating that fees vary from state to state. Compared to similar debt settlement companies, you can expect to pay a 15% to 25% fee on the amount of debt settled.

I am glad to choose this service. I was laid off from my work and my debt got accumulated. Then I found this service by mail. I was first very skeptical but I called. The representative was very knowledgeable and explained very precisely. Now I am glad I called. They settled already two credit card debt for me. I am paying certain amount every month which is much smaller amount than I was trying to pay.

Aaron ** is absolutely amazing! I was dead set on not doing debt consolidation, but he was so real about my situation and explaining it to me that it all made sense. He also informed me that I was paying another company that was not accredited with the BBB. At the end of the day I knew what needed to be done and he was there to help guide me in making the decision and it was so simple with working with him. I am absolutely ecstatic that I will be out of debt in less than five years. Overextending myself on credit cards to help cover my granddaughter's college expenses, I received a letter from Alleviate, which prompted me to consider their services. Initially, I was hesitant, fearing potential scams, but their communication made me feel more at ease, especially with the setup of their process.
My account with them is new, just a couple of weeks in, so there haven't been noticeable impacts yet. However, I appreciate the portal they provide for keeping track of everything, easing my visual nature's comfort, and ensuring that my payments are in line with expectations. I've called them to clarify any concerns, specifically about what would happen if a creditor didn't accept a settlement. Their reassurance that most creditors typically do accept was comforting, even if the whole process might take a few months.
Their customer service has been impeccable; I couldn't have asked for more responsive and detailed guidance so far. Tracking payments and updates through their portal has been smooth and efficient, a significant reassurance during this period. Everything Alleviate has promised has come to pass. I found myself in a hole I was never going to get out of on my own. I had to put my pride aside and ask for help. I received a call from Alleviate Financial Solutions' representative, Adam. Initially, I was skeptical about services like these due to the amount of personal information involved, as I often feared they could be scams. However, Adam was quite convincing and professional, which made me consider their program.
Currently, I'm in the early stages of the program, so I can't fully judge its effectiveness yet. They promised to negotiate my debt on my behalf and provided me with an online account to track my progress, which I can control directly. This setup gives me some reassurance, although I remain cautiously optimistic.
Adam stood out for his professionalism and expertise, setting him apart from others. Thanks to his approach, I decided to proceed, knowing I could cancel if I felt uncomfortable at any point. Overall, I would rate my experience with Adam highly, around a five. However, I'm still waiting to see how the program will ultimately impact my financial situation. If it successfully reduces my payments over the next few years and stabilizes my credit, it will be a tremendous help. I'm hopeful, but only time will tell.

Initially, I was under the impression that Alleviate Financial Solutions was offering a $21,000 loan with a manageable monthly payment of $500. However, I later discovered that it was actually a debt relief program, not a loan. The enrollment process was somewhat stressful as I found the communication to be a bit unclear at first. I had received mail suggesting it was a loan, which added to the confusion.
The person I spoke with did their best to explain the program, but I felt like my questions weren't fully addressed at times. Despite this, once I understood that my payments were going into a trust account to be used for settlements with creditors, my nerves were calmed. Now, I log in to track my payments and see the program's progress.
It's been a bit of a roller coaster, but in the long run, this program is set to help me clear my debt before I turn 40, which brings a lot of relief. While I did wish initially for an instant financial boost through a loan, this program is teaching me about working towards financial freedom. It's an effective way for me to manage and eventually eliminate my debt, even without the instant gratification a loan might provide.

My dad was drowning me and I needed help, that’s where Alleviate came in. They gave me hope and a clear path to canceling my debt and see the light at the end of the tunnel. Both advisors that I talk to were so kind and it just felt like they truly love their job and they wanted to help. Mathew O. was my first point of contact and he truly made me feel like I wasn’t judged for my debt and made me feel like I could start fresh and being in a better place.
