I got coverage on myself and my daughter. They have very fair quotes. So I got the most out of my buck for sure. Everything is clear and options are available. They offer whole and term life insurance. I got whole.

This company used prior information that I gave to them and opened another insurance policy in my name, this after I stop dealing with this company almost a year ago. When I called to inquire how this happened, and request for this to be rectified for me to receive a refund. I was told I to fill out paperwork and cancel an policy that I did not open in order to get my money refunded. I requested that all my information including my banking information to be erased from their system. I am still awaiting my refund. Please beware of this company. I wish I could give them no stars.

At a first, we felt that this company reaching out to provide life insurance to two unionized adults sounded perfect. My partner was offered this through his work and upon sitting down with our original agent, we felt that this company offered a whole-life insurance policy that no one else could beat – cost and add-ons seemed “too good to be true.” Shortly after agreeing to this insurance plan – which was questionable considering we had to say “yes” on the exact day and time that we FIRST learned about the company and met our agent. If we didn’t agree at that exact time “we would lose out on this once of a lifetime opportunity”. We only agreed on the spot because of the cancellation waiver if we changed our minds.
A year passed and nothing seemed out of the norm until we were notified that our agent somehow got promoted (which is still baffling to me now knowing what happened to us) and we were handed off to a new agent. It was here we learned that we missed our first annual review because of the agent change and that when the second one tried repeatedly getting ahold of us it took a while to set up our second annual review. During this time where our agent “couldn’t get ahold of us”, our agent kept calling us without leaving any voicemails (we do not pick up calls without knowing who the other person is). They never emailed us either.
The only reason we learned that this was happening was because I was home one evening last fall and the young agent showed up on our porch ringing the doorbell after the sun had gone down. I was home alone and didn’t know of these “drive-by check-ins”. We felt completed invaded and were questioning that in today’s world, why voicemails or emails wouldn’t have sufficed for this communication? We soon found out why.
Fast forward to just last week when we finally connected with our agent (due to a death in our family and COVID). Our agent repeatedly and rudely reminded us over a dozen of times that he tried getting ahold of us for what seemed like a unimportant annual review of our policy and whether or not we understood it. The first part of his presentation was exactly what we thought it would be like – going everything we understood already until he strategically slid into the conversation how just for an extra $90 a month, both my partner and I could “secure” our whole-life insurance policy and convert our term, to whole.
At this point we became IRATE! There was nothing in our documentation, nor our conversations from the initial sign up that what we were paying per month ($166) was defined as “term” life insurance. We only agreed to the high monthly payment because of the whole-life benefits, where it was told to us on the original sign-up date that we would NEVER have to pay more and that this number would stay where it was until the policy was paid off.
We bet you can guess where this conversation ended… Our agent said, “Just for $90 more, we can lock in our rates for whole-life insurance right now, today, and NOW the price would never change.” We questioned how he arrived at certain numbers and he could not answer these and blamed the previous agent –while again, reminding us why he was trying to get ahold of us from some time—never acknowledging or apologizing for never emailing or leaving a voicemail or making me feel exceptionally uncomfortable by stopping by the house late at night.
We asked if we could have time as a couple to talk about whether or not this was worth our time and he said unfortunately he was too busy for another Google Meet and we had to decide in that moment—that he would allow us a few moments to mute our mics and talk. Otherwise, the deal was off the table. At that point, we felt completely taken advantage of, lied to, and this company was beyond fraudulent in the way they work and convey information.
After firmly saying no and reaching out to a new life insurance company to cancel our policy IMMEDIATELY, I began reading reviews on this company and almost every other review is about how deceiving and fraudulent this company is. Our neighbor also ended up working for them and quit after two weeks because he felt that “NILICO was beyond shady and swindled people into something that wasn’t what they actually were offering its clients.” Lastly, I went through our policy, AGAIN, and nowhere does it say anything about “term to whole life”. This company is awful with horrible customer service where we lost thousands of dollars in a few short years. I would NEVER recommend or wish this company on anyone or their families!!!

I received a phone call from Chris saying he represented a company that provided “union benefits for non-union employees”. He was very vague about what services were provided but was insistent on sitting down with me to discuss what was offered. Initially I made the appointment but asked for a contact number in case I needed to cancel. After doing some online research I discovered this was for life insurance. I called back the number I was given to cancel the appointment but had to leave a message as Chris was in a meeting. Days later I get a follow up call confirming our appointment. I call back again leaving a message to cancel. Then I get a voicemail at 9:34pm saying he was running late for our 8:00pm appointment!
When Chris called AGAIN about the appointment I told him I had left 2 messages cancelling the appointment and also saying that calling at 9:30 at night was completely unprofessional and that if I had actually wanted the appointment I would’ve changed my mind when he called an hour and a half after we were supposed to meet. Chris got very snippy and when I told him to lose my number and not bother me again he actually said “no problem dude”. I’m disgusted and I sincerely hope this company goes out of business sooner than later.

Sarah, we're very sorry to learn of your experience with NIL. The agent situation you described is not acceptable and does not meet our Company's expectations regarding the level of service provided to our valued customers. We will certainly address this matter with those involved and invite you to send additional location and agent details through a PRIVATE message. Signed up for life insurance, money was taken out of my account a week after I signed up for the policy. You don't know if you qualify or meet the requirements. After several weeks I finally got acceptance letter. I got a letter with it stating if I wanted to cancel the policy mail back the policy with 20 days after I had received it. So I sent it back, called them to see what was going on. Lady I talked to said had to fill out cancellation form and then my policy money would be refunded. So I emailed it back then they took more money out of my account. So I called today, they are telling me that my policy isn't cancelled and my money will not be refunded because it was past 30 days.
I told him, "No it wasn't. You people dated the policy for the 29th of April but policy was not mailed until the May 10th, and I mailed it back on the 20th because I didn't receive it until after the 14th because of the weekend." He basically called me a liar and would not help me. So their policy indicates that you will be refunded but they just steal your money and refuses to help you. Horrible customer service refused to let me speak to a supervisor. Told him I can't make a post office stamp and I would send him a picture as he told me that is unacceptable and I'm wrong. Don't waste your time or money as they lie to you and you will not get it back. I have proof of the stamp the letter sent my email and picture of the letter stating it would be refunded but I'm wrong. I would of selected no stars but it made me pick one. Horrible experience and have been scammed.

Kimberly, we are so sorry to learn of your experience with NIL. We invite you to send us an email with more agent/agency details so that we can investigate this matter. We look forward to hearing back from you and taking steps to correct this situation.

It started off with my friend referring me and they nonstop called my phone until I agreed to meet with them. After thinking I could give them a shot, not even a year later I tried to cancel and they kept one policy open when I wanted to cancel it all. I didn’t realize they had kept charging me until about a year later when I called again to cancel and this lady that I talked to had told me that she would refund me for the whole year which was almost $400.
So a month later I didn’t receive the check that she had told me I would get and I also got another charge on my card which had made my bank account go negative. So after calling for the third time, they tell me I will only get refunded for this months charge. So I explained my previous call to them and he told me his supervisor didn’t approve of that refund and that’s why I won’t be receiving it. Also to point out that no one ever told me I had to sign something in order to cancel. (Because I’ve canceled a total of 3 times now.) This insurance place is a scam and a ripoff. I can’t even talk to someone in charge who knows what they’re talking about. Every phone call I seem to get a different answer.

Kaylyn, please accept our sincere apology for this refund issue. The service you've described is unacceptable to you and to NIL. If this situation is still unresolved please email us your name, policy number, phone number and the best time to contact you and we'll have a supervisor call you. Ireland drove out of her way to come to Mexico NY to see us and then had to drive back home through a Lake effect Whiteout snow storm. If we were able to qualify we would have been happy to work with Ireland. We will give the child safety kit to our son and daughter in law for our new granddaughter. Well done! I tried calling everyone in the Oldham-Gryska Agency to get help. I never had a call returned except from an agent and Mga that were from Syracuse. I submitted a claim for an accident, they cut a check in seven days. I was waiting for the check. On day 10 I called the home office in Texas where the check was cut and I am told it was voided for a review. After months of sending more information and even having my doctor write a note stating the accident they tell me they don’t pay those claims. They tell me to get a lawyer and have them write a letter stating the accident and they will pay. I asked to speak directly to the SGA Durhon Oldham and or Brett Gryska but was pushed off to Hal **. I still never had a chance to speak to anyone. I worked for this company for two years, I heard stories of accident claims not being paid but never believed the stories. Now it has happened to me. Not even the manager In Claims would speak to me or return a phone call.
My credit union could not receive a call back. These benefit are to keep you on Your feet while out of work for an accident or injury where you seek medical attention. They tried saying I didn’t go to a doctor in time but I proved I did. I was told to prove everything they asked and I did and they did not pay. But being told you will hear back and cannot get a phone call is ridiculous especially for someone that worked for you and has sold these policies on good faith. I heard stories about a check getting cut for someone who died after a DWI because he was part of a big union, this guy even signed a DWI waiver because he already had a couple prior to getting the policy. But your average Joe gets screwed and cannot make ends meet months later.

After reviewing multiple negative reviews about this interview, I decided to take my chances and go. 8 month in the business now, and I can tell you hands on, this is an opportunity like no other, the team atmosphere, the culture, the environment is all set up for upbeat individuals. There are leaders here who push you to greatness to levels I didn't know I had. I have truly found my long-term home.
Do not hesitate to make a decision based on someone's ignorant comments here, As you can see from some of the reviews, client are happy with their benefits and of course the company has been getting more and more selective to find the right candidate to represent them since they only work with niche market of union members who request the benefits. So I have the client to serve and I get paid very well. I'm looking for great things as I am pushing for management before the end of this year.
I just have to bring up the last person review about the interview process!! Yes there is 3 step process, yes they did show me 2 videos of their conventions and recognition for achieving great number, and YES, I am going to most likely in 8 months make close to 6 figures, YES I could've been a doctor or a lawyer... that flew out the door, lol, so I grabbed this opportunity with no regrets, I suggest you show up if you're invited and invest your time to learn more about the company, and make the decision based on your logic, and if you're anyone like-minded you will be excited to join as well. I hope this can help the best of you.

Guy during my interview said you can make $1300 a week. $1300 a week then wouldn't everyone work here? He said his income is 200-600k then why do people go to law school or med school, wouldn't they all just work here? Huge scams, they make $9000 a month from people who spend $275 for training. I've had a NILICO policy for 3 years and I must say I've had nothing but a positive experience thus far. I received the benefits through my IBEW union. I've been a union electrician for 6 years and I sent in my request form in 2013. I had a guy named Nick come to explain what the union had set up for us and I was very pleased with the affordability and coverage. The program covered everything the union didn't and I'm glad I enrolled because it has helped offset some out of pocket costs from being injured.
I got hurt on my snowmobile in 2015 and broke a few bones, was in the hospital for a week, and the company paid me over $3,000 from the accident portion of the policy. I can't remember the girl's name who helped me with my claim but she was awesome. It went pretty smoothly and I highly recommend looking into a policy for your own family. I inquired what the duties were, which was about trying to get union members to get insurance or explain their benefits - not the consultant position I was looking for.
So basically, I asked 'so this is basically me trying to get people to buy your insurance packages' and she said yes. I said ok, I am not looking for any sales positions and before the next millisecond, she hung up the phone. In lieu of calling back to say how rude she was, I figured a complaint here may be better justified. Hopefully, it will save someone else the pain of thinking it's a different type of job then, just being honest by saying they are looking for people in sales or for cold callers for their insurance packages. Kia was very rude and unprofessional, therefore, even if I was thinking of considering it - she just turned me off - which could be a loss for really good working people for the company.

I've seen up close how this agency runs... Unfortunately, they are guilty on who they hire and let sell their products!! But their goals is all about quantity and not fineness. The product is either the same as other insurance companies OR if qualified, can receive a much lower rate than most!! Again, must qualify to get the rates!! The problem is that they are hiring just anybody to sell which is always going to bring in the Sharks who don't care about the client and only making money!! This company qualifies A LOT more than ANY OTHER company out there!! Do your research!!
My wife has MS... Tell me what ins co is going to write life ins for her??? These guys will!! Anyway, I've just read everybody's reviews and I didn't see one good complaint (that didn't have to deal with bad representation that is) about the actual product itself!! Listen, if you're too stupid to buy a product from someone who doesn't know what they are talking about, you can't blame the actual product for it. There are MANY great agents that actually care about the product who are doing very well over there... Hope this helps because my aunt who has had alcohol dependency issues, just got a life ins policy!! Complain about that???

I worked for this company for several months. It is SHADY. When we call people, as recruiters, we have a script we read off. We have limited information and are told only to answer from the script and to keep it brief. Day one I was told disclosure is important and to give as little information as possible. We are told not to discuss how new hires would be paid, even though we are entirely aware that it is exclusively commission based. We are essentially required to lie to the people we're calling and would face repercussions if we did tell them anything about the pay or truthful.
We rarely have any actual resumes, we just have a long spreadsheet of phone numbers we call off of all day. We have their names, phone numbers, and have to meet a quota of "sets" for the day. When we had resumes, it didn't matter if the background was sales or not. We'd print off HUNDREDS under any search, it didn't matter. The company wants employees they don't have to be responsible for paying. They are absolutely questionable.
I felt ethically challenged working for them because I was required to lie to the people I was recruiting. I made phone calls all day, that was the extent of my position. I often overheard the agents calling customers idiots, and insulting them when they'd get upset with them. There were times where customers would be upset and the agents had "no idea" why they were wrongfully charged. Having worked for them, I'm certain that it was a scam. I made phone calls all day and had extreme limited contact with anybody else working for the company and any questions I had about the other positions or anything questionable, I was shut down and told to meet my quota for the day.
The people we called were just a number and it didn't really matter if they got hired or not. If this company calls you, don't schedule an interview. There are always people scheduled for the same slot, they don't care what your background with work experiences are, and they probably haven't even seen your actual resume. You're a name and phone number, and just a pawn to meet a quota. The positions are entirely commission based, and they will jerk you around, ask you to lie about things you know aren't true. The company is shady, and I'm certain all of the five star ratings were written by employees and are fake reviews.

I would not recommend this company to ANYONE. They have the absolute worst customer service. They illegally took money out of an account they were NEVER authorized to take money out of. The agent stole the account information off a check and set up automatic payments out of my mom's account. I am 29 years old and NEVER authorized this. I am the sole owner of my account. Then when I called because they caused her account to overdraft and ended up causing fees of $186 due to the overdraft they claim they have my signature. Oh but it's an "electronic signature" something I never signed nor authorized. BEWARE they are dishonest and hide behind electronic signatures.

I started working here about 6 months ago and I've never been happier with any other job as I am here. The amount of money I've made in 6 months is more than I've ever made in a year. The best part is, there's no cap on the amount of money you can make and we are helping people! It's a great feeling to be able to help people with their benefits and be paid well to do so. Unions are the backbone of the working class in our country and being the one and only company contracted through the unions is a beautiful thing. I love it here and am very happy I accepted the position. You must definitely be hardworking to succeed here but they will definitely give you the support you need to thrive. I work out of the Syracuse office and there's no secret to the success here. The leadership team goes above and beyond to help us be successful.

Best company I've ever had the pleasure of working for. There is no cold calling or telemarketing. You work with union families who request life insurance benefits and go to their house. It's really a soft sale, easy. You just have to schedule the appointments with people and go see them. If you work hard you will reap the benefit guaranteed. I never made less than a grand on a weekly basis. Management is very supportive, positive and helpful. They will do everything to make sure you succeed and are making a lot of money. Any other reviews that are negative on this company is false. They are reviews coming from people who make excuses and not solutions, people who never actually worked for the company that only went to an interview. This job isn't for everyone, it's for people with ambition and goals who want to keep moving onwards and upwards.

Someone called me from National Income stating that they found my resume on monster and wanted to set up an interview. I asked for the title of the position and she said the hiring manager will answer those questions. I consented but was cautious so I did my homework on the firm but unfortunately not enough because I decided to try it even though the place and the people looked shady. The first red flag were the individuals who were in the waiting room. I shouldn't judge a book but most of them didn't look like they graduated from college. Anyways, I met with the manager and I asked about the pay structure and he gave me a vague answer. He stated that the presentation would answer all my questions. The presenters sounded like actors playing a part. I attempted to ask questions but the vagueness continued.
I left with more questions than answers and that was the second red flag, they avoided answering certain questions. I got a phone call that I was considered for the position, so I came in for a final session with my manager. Again, I asked about the pay structure and a detailed description of how the firm makes money and again, the vagueness! He said I needed to get licensed and that they offered a class at their location for $275. I told him I had the license years ago but was currently expired so all I did was study online. It cost me $65 dollars saving $215. I took the test and passed. Then, I was scheduled for boot camp, I allowed myself to go this far because I wanted to gauge my ability to identify fraud. By the end of the second day of boot camp, I had gathered enough information to make a decision. Insurance agents generally have a bad reputation, so gaining client trust especially an acquaintance (union member) you will be a hurdle.
The insurance products are somewhat appealing but are about the same as any other insurance company products. What appealed to me was the fact that the union members would be expecting our phone calls but National Income wants referrals more than sponsors. The sales pitch we were drilled to memorize during boot camp ended with an aggressive referrals endings. For example, "Let's call your neighbors" or "Let's call your coworkers" or "Let's call your siblings!" National Income Life are deceitful and vague when it comes to answering or presenting the truth about what their company is really about. NEW YORK LIFE is an agent commission based company, they don't hide behind VAGUE answers!
I hope my experience helps someone gain the insider information before becoming deceived by these people. They make money two ways, the insurance course which will cost $27525 people per week, that's about $9000 grand a month plus the referrals! REMEMBER THEY DON'T GUARANTEE ANYTHING SO MONEY SPENT MIGHT MONEY LOST.

I was contacted by National Income about 9 months ago for a interview - same thing, they called and said they found my resume on Monster or whatever and it intrigued me because I wasn't sure what to expect either, so nonetheless, I went for the interview and was still intrigued by the opportunity. Still curious I googled the company to find bad reviews and a few good ones. And I am honestly happy that I followed my own instinct and went for the second interview. If you want a job that pays you to do NOTHING this isn't the career for you. If you expect things to be handed to you this isn't for you. But if you want long term rewarding income that will take care of your family - Ding, Ding, DING, this is for you.
Honestly working for this company has challenged me in ways I haven't thought of. Those lazy days can't exist for me. Thank you National Income for the opportunity and the consistent check. If it was easy everyone would be doing it. So far I have not missed a paycheck and the benefits I have provided they have loved. I don't have anything bad to say about this company sorry. I was called by Matt for an interview with Mr. **. After a pleasant conversation with Matt I agreed to come in for an interview. I did my research and found out that they have an A+ with BBB and A.M. best Which is impressive. I searched other insurance companies and I couldn't find any other A+. I also checked with some union friends and they all had the benefits and had nothing but great things to say about the company and the professionalism they'd experienced when dealing with reps. When I read all the negative reviews on here it made me wonder what the deal was. Why would a growing company, that works with unions, have such bad reviews? Well, I went anyway and glad I went with my gut because as soon as I walked through the door I felt the energy of a great company. Nick did an excellent job describing how the company and job works. The reviews on here couldn't be more untrue.
There is a weekly base, warm leads, non-persuasive, pushy business practice. A really really supportive culture, and a great leadership team. I asked Nick, Matt, and a few other people why there were such negative reviews and it all makes sense now. Human nature is to blame everything in the world but one's self for failing to succeed. This company gives you all the tools to succeed. If you aren't disciplined, honest, and have a great work ethic, this probably isn't for you. It's just crazy to me the more ridiculous reviews people write on here. It just snowballs and the majority haven't even been in for an interview. They just flock to and spread negativity. No wonder they were never hired, or ended up flourishing. This company breeds success and positivity. Don't buy in to the negative bs. This company is legit and the opportunity is phenomenal. Good luck with your interview. You'd be lucky if you're chosen.

And that they saw my resume on Craigslist and were interested in having an interview with me. That they had opening for entry level sales and manager positions. She also mentioned that I would be working with Union... Then she quickly asked me if I was interested in any of these positions.
With a smile of a Lotto Winner, I said "Yes, I am very much interested." And she immediately scheduled me for an interview at 10 am Friday February, 26 2015. I've had offers from this company before, since 2010 I think. But I wasn't desperate enough at the time to take an insurance sales job. But this year I applied to them, as my savings have been getting a little low and I haven't had full time work for two months now, and they asked me to come in. Here's the kicker: the ad I saw said it was a position for $55,000 a year. So one can imagine I was a little excited to come in. It sounded suspicious but I let it slide...
The room inside was crowded, and I said no way are they bringing in this many people for a $55K a year job. I knew a scam was up and when the interviewer said I passed the interview and wanted me to watch a "video", sales job is what popped up in my head. 40 people were in the room. I gave it a chance though, only because I'm not working full time. The insurance sounds good enough, but then a guy who claims to have made six figures with NILICO suddenly said we have to pay for our own training. I'm like WTF - Why can't you reach behind, pay for it? Then he had the nerve to say only 6 people from the room would be chosen. At least 20 people walked out of the room before he even said this, which I found humorous. Not working, one can feel swayed by a position like this - but why LIE to get people to come into a job interview? To say a job will pay $55K, almost suggested it's a base pay, then tell you during the interview it's all based on "potential and positive thinking" is BS. NILICO, stop lying on ads and for the love of God, stop calling me!

She also said that the salary is between 45k to 65k...second lie.

I was then asked to come into an office with ** ... the man the office is named after. I called the number and went directly to a voice message. I received a call-back to set up an interview for Friday. I had a 9:00 am appointment and was told to bring a copy of my resume. As soon as I entered the office I thought something was up. This office looked like it could be packed up and gone within one hour. That should have been my sign to turn and run. I had the interview with the regional manager and after our conversation I was told that she had other people interested and wanted me to sit in this room and answer a few questions.
About 10 minutes later the manager came back and told me that she wasn't interested in the other people and wanted to talk more about an offer. She started the conversation with the pay structure and that she is making $300,000 a year. I let her do her sales pitch and wanted me to leave for Rochester that Sunday and she would pay for everything. I keep telling her that this seems way too good to be true and she agreed with me and told me that as long as I did $3,000 a week I could set my own schedule after the first 90 days.
The training program was Monday and Thursday phone calling and setting up appointments, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday you're on the road from 1:00 pm to 10:00 pm. I accepted the position and told her I couldn't start until the 29th. My gut kept telling me that something was up and that was before I saw this site. I spoke to a few professionals and they all told me to go with my gut. Well today at 11:00 am I called and turned down the position and started to do some research on the company and came across this site and this confirmed my gut feeling. Thank you to everyone that took the time to write a review and remember to always trust your gut.

Stating that she received my resume for a management position that I applied for (I do not apply for management positions, so right after the bat it sounded strange). She asked if I was still looking for work and then proceeded to set up a time for an interview. Upon finishing this, I asked that this information be emailed to me (I was driving and could not write anything down). After getting off the phone, I thought about the phone conversation and thought that it was strange she never mentioned the name of the company or talked about the position at all. The lady's name is "Trisha **", possibly a fake name. I was not about to find any information for that name through my research.
When I checked my email later that day, there was indeed an email from Trisha **: "We are hiring for program consultant positions as well as management level positions. You will be working strictly with union members as we don't work with the general public. You would be consulting with them what benefits they are interested in and completing all the necessary paperwork pertaining to those benefits so you are basically their personal consultant. We also have a management position open where you will be managing and training a team of between 5-15 recruits and agents using project management skills. We are looking forward to meeting with you. Please plan forty-five minutes to an hour for the interview. Business attire is required. When arriving please present the front desk receptionist with an updated copy of your resume if available. I worked for this company for about 1 year. Everything that you read in the previous reviews is true. This is an honest review of the company. I was initially called for a management position. Since that was what my background was in, I accepted the interview. There were a ton of people waiting to be interviewed in the small lobby area. I was finally interviewed by one of the supervising agents. After a very brief interview, I was asked to stay a little while to watch a presentation. There are about 40 people watching this. At this point in time you realize that this is a position selling life insurance. This is where they sugar coat everything and try to sell you the dream. They don't mention things like cold calling, door knocking, and depending on referrals. Of course they save this information once you are invested in the position. One day later I was called in for the final interview, and I was offered the position.
You are required to attend a one week pre-licensing class that you have to pay for. I think it was around $250. After passing the class final, you then schedule your state licensing exam. Of course, you need to pay for this as well. Upon completion of the state licensing exam, you then attend a one-week training program. You are not paid for this. So far that's 2 weeks of unpaid training. After you complete the training program, you are required to memorize a 7-page selling script. You are then assigned a supervising agent who is supposed to help you with your field training. This training last anywhere from 1-2 weeks.
You are encouraged to work 7 days per week and holidays. You are paid by commission and bonuses only. If you don't sell anything, you don't make anything. You are a 1099 worker not a W-2 employee. The company says that they offer insurance to union members, who are also allowed to refer friends and family members. Most of the union members have no clue who NILICO is, and are very reluctant to refer others. Some will hang up on you, while others won't be home even after you scheduled appointments with them.
You are initially given a lead pack of union members and when that runs out, you are screwed! Most members don't remember filling out the forms. A lot of members don't feel comfortable giving out referrals. Without referrals, your market will dry up quickly. They have 2 nights dedicated as phone nights. Usually from 2-9 pm. You are required to make phone calls to people who treat you like telemarketers. This is pure hell. Prepared to get hung up on or even yelled at. Before the phone calls, you participate in a cheerleading session which is a joke. It's supposed to get you motivated, but it seems like a cult instead. Everyone clapping hands and shouting. I always laughed inside. What a joke.
The company offers very limited products which are not as competitive as they think they are. Their term life products are very expensive. The managers are inexperienced and unprofessional. They promote people to managers after 3 months. I've seen some of the management meetings. They berate and cuss at their managers. Very misleading company and not up front with perspective workers. Extremely high turnover rate. It's like a revolving door. Most people only last a few months. Some only last a few weeks. Bottom line, don't waste your time. If you are interested in pursuing a career in insurance, work for a reputable company. There is a reason why most people never heard of NILICO.

An ex-boyfriend sells this insurance. I told him I did not want to purchase this insurance. He stole my bank account information, forged my signature to these applications to proceed to purchase this insurance. I have called and made complaints. My bank account was put in the negative balance and had accumulated overdrafts. The company is reimbursing me the money taken out of my account. The bank was nice enough to fix the overdraft charges. I proceeded to make a complaint with the police of this man purchasing this insurance without my consent. I have spoke with the directory of this company and wanted to make a complaint on this ex-boyfriend, the agent salesman. I was directed to his main office in Elmira, NY.
I spoke with an agent manager who is not taking my complaint serious and has basically called me a liar and is taking his agent's word of a customer, not even a customer, but a person who was victim to fraud and harassment from this company. I do not think they are for the best interest of anyone but themselves and making money on other people. I am not happy. I am upset and sad. My bank account had to be closed but worse of all I had to listen to a gentleman say he can tell female handwriting to male's handwriting and not so sure if I am telling the truth. His agent is saying this. WTF!

Today Natalie called stating two positions were identified for me @ her company; did not state she was from National Income Life Insurance - the name came up on caller ID. The positions were for first level account executive the second for benefits coordinator. She talked so quickly and rushed to set an appointment. I felt something was wrong.

I'd like to thank all of the people who wrote here about National Income Life. You have saved me time, money, and a lot of inconvenience. I received the same call all of you did. They told me they got my resume off CareerBuilder and that my resume may fit 2 positions they have available. The lady then proceeded to tell me that one of the positions would involve managing 3 people; the other is "higher up" and is "the highest paying position in the company" having something to do with managing workers' benefits. While this thing may be "legal," it's clearly a pyramid of some kind. There is nothing wrong with a well-run, legal pyramid-type business, but they should definitely be upfront about it and just say it because it's not for everybody. I have tried calling to cancel my appointment and if I can't get hold of them before my appointment day, I will not hesitate or have any qualms about not showing up. Thank you, everyone, for helping me save time and money!

I got a policy just over 4 years ago. It had a cash face value of $1,349.00. Well, with the cutbacks and all, I figured it was overpriced and would rather have the $52 a month, pay a bill instead. Glad I canceled it! With fees and all, I will get $69.92, period. Does anyone else see something wrong with that? Or I could borrow $3.68 against it? Their fine print will burn you! Beware!

I received a call yesterday from someone looking to fill several positions in a company that is opening a new location. The lady that called me was very professional and mentioned she was calling from National Income and was interested in my resume. Mind you, my resume is detailed with my extensive (20+) experience in banking. She asked me if I would be interested in scheduling an interview this week. But what raised a red flag was the fact that she did not ask me about my background experience and was only interested in scheduling. But what really made me skeptical about this position was the fact that she did not mention she works for a life insurance and only mention they were a company that helps fund Union members?
What does this have to do with my banking experience? Nothing! I almost fell for this, but what made it more suspicious was the fact that if she had my resume like she said at the beginning of the conversation, why is she asking me for my email address which is already noted on my resume? Hmm. Today, I googled this company after it took her a full day to send a confirmation email and I found out there are numerous report of scamming to get people in sales position. I do not appreciate this kind of scam as I'm not looking to be hustled for commission. And yes, this is called a pyramid which is illegal!

I'm currently in a career transition and somehow, these people got a hold of my resume and phone number. They have already sent 3 emails and two phone calls. I have declined every request that I come in for an interview. My resume clearly states I'm a designer and this company is trying to push a sales position my way. What gives? How do I stop this spamming? How stupid and desperate do they think people are?

I signed with this company on April 3, 2010. I could not make the payments any longer due to the fact that I am unemployed, so I called the main office on June 3rd to cancel my policy. I told them that I could not afford this payment at this time and to please not take anymore money out of my checking account. They said no problem and canceled me. I then noticed that they took money out twice in June after the 3rd and then again, three more times in July. I called them to question this and they said the girl never fully canceled me as I requested. They ran my checking account a total of five times in two months, I was hit with five bank fees of thirty five dollars each.
The bank then closed out my account and my car insurance payment lapsed because of these fees. I have a letter from the company stating that I was canceled as per my request on June 3, 2010 and I have bank statements proving all the times they deducted my account without my authorization. I tried to reason with this company to give me back the money I was charged in fees, but they refused. I later found out through a regional manager in their queens office that the manager that was handling my policy was fired. I also was told that the office told the company that I told them to keep running my account.
The home office did not verify this with me, I never even spoke to anyone in that office that was handling my policy and I did not give authorization to continue my policy. When I tried talking to the home office, they told me to talk to Marc **, the office manager, who told them to continue to run my account. But he was fired and they said "well, you have to speak with him". This company is a fraud and they used my checking account without my authorization.
