Bloomington, Indiana office... Worst experience ever. Employees/dentist were rude, rushed, and have lied several times. Now they are refusing to do adjustments on dentures that they didn't make right. 3 days ago, I was told that all adjustments and permanent dentures were paid in full. Called back yesterday to make appointment and they said they will not see me unless I pay another 1800. They won't even run it through my current insurance to see if it will pay. Now I am stuck with dentures that don't fit and they won't do anything to make it right. Avoid this place...

Office Staff is horrible. Every time I go in there I am charged extra for something. So today I go for cleaning. I have been a patient for years and have spent thousands of dollars at this practice and I get there and Aisha wants to charge me double what the insurance will pay. I have insurance call them and tell them I should only be charged $60.00. Well she won't take a fax from the insurance company, won't listen to the insurance agent on the line, tells me "oh well we can get a predetermination but that is gonna take over 30 days and then you can make an appointment!" Really that how a existing patient who has spent thousands is treated at this office. While all this was going on the office manager Stephanie was hiding in the back; I was told she was busy. I have filed a formal complaint with Aspen Dental for the practice in Tampa. I will never return to that office. POOR Patient treatment!

If I can give this place a negative star I would. This place will charge you for anything & everything even if you do have insurance. I was given a "estimate" the first time I went. When I arrive a different day for the actual procedure they try to charge me for more than what I told them all I wanted done. When I left I paid for all what I supposed to pay and even got a statement showing my balance was $0. Then several weeks later got another bill from them saying I still owed them. They claim my insurance didn't cover it all, which they should know this beforehand. Beware they will charge you for anything!!! I will not be back. I have never had a problem with dental insurance before anywhere else.

This is for the Aspen Dental in St. Clair, PA. I went to Aspen Dental for dentures, thinking they are a big practice and I would be good to go. I thought wrong. Although the staff, other than the dentist, was nice, they were all very young. They weren't even old enough to have any life experience, let alone experience to do denture work. It all started with the dental assistant doing the impression. While she was doing the impression, she wasn't even looking at me or focused on me. She was looking in the opposite direction talking to another assistant about personal life. Not even work related. The impression is the most important part of the process and the denture plate will only fit as good as the impression.
Well, needless to say, while she was wondering her mind elsewhere, the impression plate was moving around as she kept adjusting her hand as if she was preparing a meatloaf or something. When she removed it from my mouth, and I was able to talk, I told her it was moving around and they never did the impression again. It should have been started over right then and there. Needless to say, 11 appointments later and they made no progress because the impression was wrong. The dentist kept telling me not to worry about the fit of the wax try in, just worry about the look of the teeth. How can I tell the look of the teeth when the plate just falls right off my gums?
The first set they did, didn't even have any back teeth. They then had to start over but never started from an initial impression again. The second set, fall right off gums again. Horrible experience. Trying to juggle 11 appointments around my work schedule only to have it all be for not. The 11th appointment with still no progress, I told them I can't do this no more. I want a refund. So that's where I stand now. $2400 refund, which they have given. So I give them that much. Hire some experienced people Aspen Dental. At the very least, educate your assistants of the importance of the impression.

I made an appt. with the St. Pete Office to get new dentures.. Original appt. was for 3/17. I fractured my ankle and was having bowel problems so I changed the appt. to 3/24. It was confirmed by email for the new appt. On Mon. night I called for possible cancellation of the 3/24 but called early Tues. that I could keep it. The girl said "okay... we got you covered for the 24th at 1:15." Even though she said I could consider that call my confirmation, they called later and reminded me of the appt. on Thurs. the 24th at 1:15. I was there at 12:40. I had to hire someone to take me over... My fractured ankle is in a boot (with the cash money to pay for the appt. and the dentures).
I was filling out the paperwork when a clerical person came and informed me: "Ms. **, you do not have an appt. today,." Say what? I repeated to her all the above. And said "Yes, I do and it is at 1:15." She told me they had only one Dr. available and had two other new customers and they could not see me. I said "I HAVE an appt. which you called and reminded me of and I still have a 1:15 appt." She then told me, I could not be seen, that they had two other new customers. I told her that was her problem but I DO HAVE AN APPT. Then she went and sent another person out to tell me, "I'm sorry Ms. **, we cannot see you today." I repeated "I have a 1:15 appt. and I am here at great inconvenience to me with the fractured ankle and paying someone to drive me over here from Tampa."
So off that one, goes into an office and they are all three talking and looking out at me. Then the 2nd one came and said... "someone failed to put you on our schedule... I'm sorry." I repeated "that is your problem, but I have (and you called me to remind me) so apparently I was scheduled to have gotten that call. It is not my problem that you have two other new patients... I HAVE A 1:15 CONFIRMED APPT. at 1:15." So back she goes to the office...
By that time everyone in the reception area was shaking their heads in amazement at how I was being treated... A couple even said how sorry they were for me. One gentleman offered me his appt. Then the lady comes back and says "if you want to stay until 3:45, we can TRY to fit you in." Needless to say I told her "no - not when I had a confirmed 1:15 appt." And I left. If this is how patients are treated at your clinics then that is disgraceful!! I do not have any kind words as a result of this for ASPEN DENTAL... No thank you and I will highly recommend to anyone considering work done there to think again. I am still in disbelief of this! I am a 79 yr. old person... Is that how you treat your elderly patients???

My first visit was for tooth pain and I left there with a treatment plan of $8k. I refused to sign the financing agreement they placed in front of me and I would schedule the work individually. For now I wanted to take care of a tooth that I was told need a crown and that I would have to PRE-PAY for the work to the tune of $358. I explained that when I had the money I would schedule that work so I scheduled the cleaning that I know my insurance pays for first. Went to Aspen Dental this morning for my teeth cleaning and was told I owed them $175 before even being taken to the back for the work. When I asked why I needed to pay (I knew that annual cleanings are covered by my dental insurance) I was told that the dentist had ordered some special cleaning and whitening procedure. I told them "NO. I am here for a plain cleaning and that's all."
The young lady did not know what to do so she went to the back and after a few minutes came back told me that they refused to just simply clean my teeth since the dentist had ordered this "special" cleaning and that I owed them the $175. I again told her NO. I told her to give me my x-rays because I was going elsewhere and would not be back to this office and would not be bullied by anyone trying to extract money from me for unwanted services. #AspenDentalTerribleCustomerService #AspenDentalBulliesPatients #AspenDentalEngagesinUnethicalPractices

Here they get you in quickly, discuss the treatment plan and cost after the cleaning and exam, offer a senior discount. Everyone is friendly. They go out of their way to meet your time constraints as I travel a lot and I heard the receptionist tell one man prior to his check up that she was sorry that they did not take his insurance and what the exam would cost instead of hitting him with that afterwards. Maybe other locations are not like this one, but this one is FABULOUS.

I made an appointment for a tooth extraction, 2:45 pm. It took him 1/2 just to come in and start the numbing process, then he gave me first shot in my gum, left, came back, went for second shot in the roof of my mouth. It was very uncomfortable and on top of that I made a noise, and his little ** dimwitted assistant laughed under her breath right behind me, so the numbing process took another half hour. Finally he comes in to start to remove my tooth. He had to break it in several pieces, sawing and yanking for I would say 45 minutes more. Once he finally removed it, I had to get up and rinse in the sink. They took another X-ray and they weren't sure if there was a piece left or it was just a shadow so then he goes back in to make sure it was all gone.
I could feel him putting lots of pressure on a different tooth, that was another ten minutes of hell. They put no gauze in my mouth. I walked outta there with blood all over my teeth. Not only that I know he was working on me and someone else at the same time. I guess they only have the one dentist on staff in St. Clair, PA. Now it's been about a day and a half. I feel like I have been punched in the face, my jaw is so soar. So no I don't believe I will ever go back, very unprofessional. Never had an experience like that.

I booked an appt for myself at Aspen Dental because I know they do dentures right there and I would not have to walk around without teeth for long. Recently, my 17 year daughter was having tooth pain and the dentist could not see her until April 13, 2016 so I got her into Aspen who sees patients within a week. I took her in and not only was the wait ridiculous but what I thought was going to be a tooth or a couple possible fillings turned out to be, according to her treatment plan, $11,000 and $9,000 I would have to pay. Let me just say that my daughter has been going through so many procedures with her mouth for more than 5 years. She had to get so many teeth filled and root canal and some extractions. Then had to get her mouth widened because her overbite was insane. She also suffered with TMJ so it cleared that up. Her teeth moved so fast that she only had to wear the palette expander for like 3 weeks.
She then got braces and was getting her teeth cleaned and checked, cavities and now, she needs 2 root canals, 3 crowns, fillings out of the rear and then 2 separate intense cleanings? Come on now. Apparently the braces destroyed her teeth. I know one tooth needs the root canal. Her braces cut a hole in her tooth. I get that and have no problem but you should see the breakdown and she can't even see the person doing the root canal until April 12, 2016. I am needing a second opinion and just wondering if you think it is wise to get one. Are they truly overpriced and are they going to put her through unnecessary work?

Aspen Dental was assigned to me by Cigna as my network dental provider. They are a network DHMO dental office through Cigna which means I have a Patient Charge Schedule so I know what my costs are up front for procedures. Aspen has not honored the agreement they have with Cigna and continue to bill me up to 3 to 4X the amount I am scheduled to pay. For my crown, they billed me the entire amount and didn't even submit it to Cigna Dental. They tried to tell me that my insurance lapsed (not the case as the premiums are paid through my NJ State Pension) and Cigna assures me that my dental policy is in effect. I have asked Cigna and the BBB to intervene. Waiting to hear if they can get a successful resolution.

Today is such a beautiful sunny day. It's too bad I've got a psych myself up to go pitch a fit at Aspen Dental for unethical business practices... Do not go there!! They say your xrays are free but they gauge you like crazy for everything else to make up for it. This is not easy for me to complain believe it or not... The technician KNEW I thought the goody bag they hand you when you leave, was free, and no one said a word. I did not need an electric tooth brush (charging me 30.00 more for it than at the store!) Nor the tooth paste or mouthwash... YES FOLKS THAT WHY CHARGE YOU WAY MORE FOR IT AND NEVER ONCE ASK YOU IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BUY IT! I expressed my unhappiness twice regarding the price charged for two fillings and a teeth cleaning/irrigation (almost 2,000!!!) But they only offered to reduce the price was to take fillings, treated teeth or extractions off...
The office manager, Crystal at the Panama City Beach location could have EASILY asked me if I wanted to reduce my bill (half of it at 18% Interest BTW!) by Not getting the "gift bag" but not a word was mentioned about the items or the cost. Call me ignorant, but I read the fine print, and it still happened to me. YOU NEVER GET ANYTHING FOR FREE FOLKS... At 56 YEARS OLD, I am still amazed at how people can sleep at night after they treat customers this way, and that someone got one over on me AGAIN. I must also add that I about choked to death getting a filling.
They didn't suction after the shots and it numbed my throat and tongue. Only one gentleman dentist was experienced in there, and the girl who cleaned my teeth was super nice too... Though the "dentist" that did my filling took 2 1/2 hours to do it, it turned out looking nice, but I could tell she was VERY new. No way am I getting my other filling here, IF I CAN EVER GET THEM TO REMOVE IT FROM MY "AGREED TO PAY" BILL.

The other reviews are very similar to the experiences I have had here. My first appointment was for a cleaning, or so I thought. After a few long waits I was seen for a brief time, then left in the chair for a little longer. Finally I was told that I was not getting a cleaning and I would have receive a phone call to reschedule that cleaning... Which I never received. Finally I called and made that appointment for my cleaning. When I arrived that day I was told that I would have to pay $100 for this "extensive" (lol) cleaning regardless of my insurance because of what they believe is necessary; however having had a second opinion I've been told that this was actually completely unnecessary. Since this is the only place my dental insurance allows me to go, I made yet another appointment to which I told I was 5 mins too late to be seen and would have to wait to see if the next patient showed up.
From my experience and others that I know, this place is all about a scam. They ironically mention in a commercial that they don't take advantage of their patients and overcharge, but don't believe that (from personal and other's experience) for a second. For a second I thought this model could potentially restore my faith in the medical community in hopes of putting health above all, however I'm let down once again. It's a damn shame that medical professionals cannot be trusted and patients can't receive necessary, affordable, or appropriate care. If you have a different option under your insurance, I recommend taking advantage of that. If not, check out Groupon for a decent deal; at least you expect them to try to get more money out of you rather than being forced into unnecessary procedures & charges.

They will force the explorer into your tooth and leave it sticking in there and say, "Oh, just checking for decay" in my healthy teeth. Ha! "I'm just checking for decay" **then creates a hole in the tooth** And they shoved a stick into the gums and AFTERWARD say your gums are red because of gingivitis. I still have the small hole in my teeth to this day and I have a receded gumline now. Oh guess what? No lawyer will sue them until your mouth is completely screwed over ($10,000 in damages).

I have been a patient of Aspen Dental for several years moving back and forth between their New Hartford and Rome offices. I had to go to the office that was most convenient for me at the time because I required child care. I have had several teeth extracted at Aspen Dental since 2010. Most of them back molars. The procedure was always done by the traveling oral surgeon because the regular DDS does not extract the back teeth/molars. About two weeks ago, I had a tooth extracted. Tooth #3. For some reason, they allowed the DDS and not the surgeon to extract the tooth. I immediately knew the difference because it took the DDS close to 20 minutes to remove the tooth, which had been previously root canaled but never capped. Any other extraction I have had has taken less than 5 minutes.
The tooth came out in PIECES. About 5-6 pieces to be exact. He was maneuvering his tools around my mouth and at one point it felt like he was digging out a piece of my skull... In which many could say, he actually was. At the end of the extraction, he began picking at the last tooth on the upper right... Said it was going to need a filling. NEWS TO ME! I had a dental plan all worked out, priced out and planned and it did NOT include work on that particular tooth. I got home, looked in the mirror and there was a very definitive CRACK right down the middle of the tooth. Being numb still, I obviously didn't feel any pain but KNEW it was inevitable once the extraction site healed up.
I called Aspen Dental and told them I wanted to make an appointment to have the tooth taken care of because I knew it was going to cause problems. I made them aware the dentist had cracked the tooth during the procedure I had just had. (CARNAL MISTAKE) She told me to wait a few days and if the tooth started to present a problem, then they would get me in promptly. Sure enough, within a few days, the newly cracked tooth was extremely sensitive to hot, cold and any pressure. I called a few more days later to make an appointment exactly two weeks to the date of my extraction. I go in today for my appointment and they immediately do xrays.
The dental assistant who was the same as during my extraction asked me what the problem was. I told her... Dr. ** cracked my tooth during the extraction a couple of weeks ago and now I cannot take the pain. She looked at me quite stunned. Almost like an "oh **" look. I get back into the chair and Dr. ** came in and basically discredited my story. Told me he did not crack my tooth. He said that the tooth needed work prior to me having the extraction. ERRONEOUS. NOT A PART OF MY PLANNED WORK and financial quote.
I calmly argued with him, but he was refusing to admit his mistake and continuously tried to get me to believe the tooth was already cracked. I DID NOT HAVE THIS KIND OF PAIN AN SENSITIVITY PRIOR TO HIS BOTCHED EXTRACTION. He screwed up big time. He is young and inexperienced and this extraction should have been done by the oral surgeon. I walked out of the office with no plans to return. Attorney general contacted.

Made an appt with Aspen Dental for a check-up and teeth cleaning. Was told by office manager after spending 5 minutes with hygienist and 5 minutes with dentist, after having full set of X-rays completed by a tech who cut my mouth and knocked the X-ray machine into my jaw, that in order for anything will be done I needed to give them $1600 for a procedure I did not want or need. Office manager told me he would not "compromise" his dentist's license by only doing what I, the consumer and the patient, requested, but that if it was a matter of money he would be glad to set me up with a wonderful payment plan.
I went in for services that were covered by my insurance and told, after my insurance portion was used up, and with nothing done, that if I wanted to proceed I needed to pay $1600. I left the office without having anything done, but now I can't go to my dentist again for 1 year because my check up was used by Aspen... They lie and cheat and scare the average person into HUGE unnecessary procedures and send them the bill. Terrible!!!

I now have an abscess and don't want to go back to the Aspen hacks. I am so mad. This is just a sampling of what they have done to my boyfriend and I. I have regular dental care and need a dentist in Florida and Colorado. I went to Aspen Dental, University Parkway, on 02192016 and could not believe their sales tactics. All I wanted was a general cleaning. They insisted a, as I was a new patient, to do a full work up. The dentist agreed my teeth and previous dental work was first class. He noted scale that needed to be removed and recommended deep scaling.
I was then sent to their salesman who quoted me over $3200.00 and said my portion was about $2,100.00 after Delta Dental paid their share/benefit. I said no, I would have the deep scaling done in CO in June and just wanted a cleaning. They refused to do a general cleaning saying I take their full plan or would not do anything. They charged Delta Dental $138.00 for doing X-rays. This place is disorganized and I walked out with nothing for the money paid. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. I retired as a Fraud Detective and handled many fraud complaints. Trust me, all Aspen wants is money.

This place made more mistakes in 5 weeks than all of my previous dentists in 50 years have made. After our first visit my husband remarked that it felt like we had just left a money hungry, used car lot. First, the prices advertised on their website are nowhere near the prices they gave us on our estimated costs of procedures and what they charged us. Outrageous prices for cleanings and crowns. Then, they somehow came up with a completely wrong last name for my husband and never could get it corrected. Still haven't. They said my crown would take 3 weeks, (longer than I have ever waited for one) and it actually took over 4 weeks for me to get it put on. My "temporary" was replaced 3 times because it broke into pieces in less than a day each time. I eventually just went without it. They said snow delayed it but it actually ended up in a completely different city, and that office kept calling me with appointment reminders that I did not have.
My office canceled my appointment once and then called me to complain that I didn't show up! I got a letter that said If I didn't make an appointment to finish the "ongoing" work, I may be charged for it anyway. When I called and questioned it, I was told to disregard that letter because the Corporate office just sends those out automatically. They also make you pay 1/2 of everything on the day you make the appointment, so that they can "hold your appointment for you". Individual employees were friendly but I developed a lack of confidence in their ability and knowledge very quickly and will never go back! I want a dentist that is not a corporation.

Before I relocated I knew I would need a root canal because a previous dentist drilled too close for a filling. I checked my new service providers and Aspen's website stated root canals and crowns, I even called to make sure they did both. I was told yes. Had the appointment and of course they do the typical X-rays and the number account. Now I have never heard this before and went to a prior dentist about a month before and had 0 problems but that main tooth. Aspen said I needed a special cleaning for my teeth and also had an infection in the tooth that needs a root canal. I was given an antibiotic. When I went to leave they said they would have to refer me to another doctor for the root canal (now they said before they do it) and gave me a quote of almost $800 out of pocket expenses for crown, toothbrush and a bunch of other stuff that didn't make sense, this was with my insurance share as well who pays 50% of everything.
They said the referred doctor would typically charge 2000 for root canal which means my total out of pocket would be about $2300. Now 7 days later, antibiotic has worked, pressure is less but of course the antibiotic is done. Infection wasn't 100% gone. I called to explain it wasn't all gone but tooth did feel a lil better but pressure was coming back, was told I had to have another appointment to be given another 7 day antibiotic. I asked why would I need another appointment for something the dentist knows was wrong and was only 10 days ago. The response was the doctor says there should be no need for more antibiotic and infection should be gone. Either way I will not be returning to Aspen and told the lady that.
Terrible customer service, charges that don't make sense, and always looking for a way for more money. I have went to another dentist and now out of pocket total will be $900. FOR EVERYTHING. I think it's sad that companies have become like this and think of money first and do not care about the customer. Hit me with surprise charges, insist I need another appointment for something I know isn't needed because of how recent it was. I'll be taking Advil for the next few days for the pain until I can start the root canal process with dentist who cares about their patient!

Well I went to the office this morning at 7:30 am and after they had me fill out more paperwork I was told that they do not stand behind their work. And I would have to pay $101.00 just to have the dentist look at it and a fee for regluing it back on. I was very disappointed because when I had the $4000.00 worth of work done originally I was told they would warranty the caps if they fell off. My upper dentures were cracked again (the FIRST dentist that made THOSE was screwed up too -- it broke 3 times in a YEAR! just saying). So I couldn't get an appt. for a month and went to a local Aspen Dental. I thought I had to get new ones! They fixed the old one to provide a template for the new ones (FULL set --they said I wouldn't have a good fit pairing it with the old one, ok.). I did not KNOW that they could fix the old one, and so WELL I might add. So I had it in my head that I needed another denture, no matter, and I had no idea how expensive they were, but I signed on the dotted line -- 3,300 dollars -- got my old denture back, and unlike other 2 times I got it back from the other place. It was perfect - not a sign of a crack.
So basically, now, I didn't NEED the new ones, but I had already signed (sneaky, pushy car dealership feeling), again, like the other person said here earlier and I said "Oh well, why not?" Expensive but talked myself into needing a backup set... and then I WORE them for a while. Well, they look great, and feel okay until I eat, then they feel like I'm eating with boxes, with no back teeth type ROOM, hard to explain. HOW could they have used the old ones as a template, and they are so different? Anyway, have had them "adjusted" twice and now I'm getting the "you'll get used to them" like everybody else on this site. Now I have 5 years of payments with high interest, cause I couldn't afford the 18 month plan of 180 a month. Could I have backed out of this deal the same day I signed? Too late now to know but I am curious.

I had some minor pain in a tooth but I don't have insurance, so I took advantage of the free exam for new patients. I hadn't been to the dentist in over a year but before that I had several fillings and cleanings, so I haven't neglected my teeth. I was super shocked and even laughed when the dentist told me I had 14 cavities! She said I even had cavities UNDER my fillings. She also claimed I had huge cavities in my wisdom teeth and they needed to be surgically removed. About 18 months ago I had my wisdom teeth SEALED b/c the old dentist I went to said they were fine and didn't need to be removed, and it would actually be bad for me to remove them b/c I'm 33 and they are deeply rooted. At this point nobody had even addressed the original reason I came in, which was the 1 tooth with minor pain, and I'm already at 12 fillings and wisdom tooth extraction.
So I ask about the tooth in particular and the dentist said it is actually a 3 surface cavity on the tooth that is bothering me, plus the one next to it! At this point I'm just pissed and ready to leave b/c it was quite obvious they had been lying to me. They then send me back to the finance manager and she starts selling me two different credit accounts, saying I need about $2000 worth of work, including a $700 gingivitis treatment. I refused and left, then made an appointment at my old dentist. It turns out I don't even have cavities!! The teeth in particular that she said had 3 surface cavities, had ZERO cavities. I had just hurt my gum and it was swollen and making my tooth ache. I have never been more pissed. Aside from the fact that they were trying to rip me off thousands of dollars, they wanted me to have a list of painful procedures! I just keep wondering how many people they have financially violated and caused physical suffering to.

I'd luckily been warned by a friend about going to Aspen, and after my new patient exam the warning turned out absolutely correct. The good - the staff were friendly, competent and quick at their jobs. If it weren't for the bad side I'd be happy to be a regular patient there. The bad - Aspen is a sales mill. They're car dealership sneaky. My friend warned me that they would try to slip in charges, and sure enough it happened. Here's how it goes. The friendly dentist and assistants will give you a free exam and tell you that when you come back for a cleaning, you'll "take home an electric toothbrush, special toothpaste and rinse". They avoid saying that it costs extra. They'll put a screen in front of your chair so you can see your x-rays, but also so you can see any alarming things about your teeth being typed in to help upsell the products.
Then you wait, half an hour in my case, for the office manager to schedule your appointment and sign your bill. This is where it gets car dealership. First, I saw the overview of the charges and was asked to sign and if I wanted to put anything down. I asked how much the toothbrush was that the assistant had mentioned. She said $150. I was expecting this from my friend's warning and asked to have it removed. She agreed easily, then tore the overview bill in half with a barely concealed look of irritation. I asked for an itemized bill, and watched her carefully tell me I had to sign first before she could print it. I hadn't given my credit card and already said I wouldn't pay until the actual cleaning, so I figured sure, why not.
I signed, looked over the bill, and spotted the $30 rinse and the $50 oral cancer screening they hadn't asked me if I wanted, either. No idea if the toothpaste is slipped in under an unrecognizable name/code. I also noted that the toothbrush had come entirely out of Patient Responsibility, not insurance. At this point I knew I'd never be coming back so I said nothing and left. In short, insist on seeing your bill before you sign or give any payment, because they will try hard to sneak over $230 of unnecessary extras into your upfront payment. Or go to another dentist.

Terrible!!! My husband called and made an appointment for our 6-year-old daughter who was in pain. They made her an appointment for a cleaning and said they would figure out what she needed at the appointment. They cleaned her teeth, took an X-ray and then the dentist came in and said they don't do pediatric dentistry and she would be referred to another dentist! WHY WOULD THEY NOT TELL MY HUSBAND THAT WHEN HE CALLED? THEY ARE DISHONEST AND IMMORAL! We have Cigna DHMO insurance which is supposed to cover all kinds of dental procedures but never does, we get moved from one terrible dentist to another.

I had my teeth removed on Aug. 20th 2014 and have had one problem after another with the dentures provided by Aspen Dental. The 1st set although not what I was to end up with had to have the bottom denture have a tooth partially cut off in order to fit over an impacted wisdom tooth of which they twice refused to pull. My next set of dentures of which I had to pay for myself was made with a shorten bottom dentures. I told them that they were too tight, but their reply was that I'll get used to them.
It has been months since I've had contact with Aspen Dental, for I get the same song and dance story. My gums hurt so badly that in order for me to wear the dentures I must use tooth numbing liquid to even bear having them in my mouth. I have used every kind of gel/strips/and powder, any. It always happens. The bottom dentures fall out when eating. Their explanation for that is bottoms are always like that. I know for a fact that is not true. Short from suing Aspen Dental, what can I possibly do?

Had an Appt. For 11:30 got there at 11 am. Was told on phone extraction was $99, it was 175.00 that's not the main problem. Sat in office for 2 and half hours before seeing Dr. Finally saw Dr. He numbed me with injections to extract tooth. Left room. After an hour and a half, numbing agent wore off. A technician (not the Doctor) came in an injected me with more numbing med. (Only) Doctors are to do this! Doctor finally came in to extract tooth. Tooth broke in half after much pain and pulling, I couldn't hold my jaw open. Doctor told tech. To get the "root puller" so he could get the rest out. Tech came back no puller. Doctor walked out, bloody gloves, people going in and out. They state they only have one and it's in the autoclave being clean. Doctor said he would improvise, make his own.
I'm in terrible pain and completely scarred! He's pulling tugging and the look on the tech's eyes wasn't pleasant. He finally got it out. The nurse asked if he was going to stitch it he said no. Gave me antibiotics and pain meds prescription and walked out. The tech just stood there. My husband's asked her: "Can you believe what just went on in here? Was this right?" She said NO! NO one explained the meds to us or any aftercare. Husband's asked to speak to Office Manager and he had nothing to say but, sorry.
We did put out this was their first day open and a Doctor called out. But, is this my fault? I'm in more pain than ever! There is no compassion here. I also found out Aspen Dental is a franchise independently owned by dentist but, ran with their management help. I'm still shocked that I was there for four hours, a technician injected me three times with numbing agent, they didn't have enough tools to perform a procedure, Doctor going out of room with bloody gloves to touch and get whatever he needs then stick those hands back in my mouth, the Doctor stepped out of protocol to make his own tools. I left there confused and asking myself and husband what just happened. No aftercare papers. Nothing... I just can't believe it. Please, stay away from this place. At least the one in Inverness, Fl.

My wife made an appointment for a cleaning. (She is a new patient as we moved.) Her appt. was on 12/29/15 at the Oak Creek, WI location (S. Howell Ave.). She is told when she gets there that they do not need to transfer dental records from previous dental office, and that she has to go through a new patient exam, which altogether from the time that I dropped her off, was 1.5 hours. Too LONG! She even complained while inside and the rude lady said what was the big deal.
So she reschedules cleaning the same day and is told that she has to pay a $27 fee. With our dental insurance there is NO FEE for initial exam and consult, or regular 6 month cleaning. The rude lady says that there is nothing that she can do about it. What the fee was for was a fluoride treatment. (That is not required for adults and is voluntary.) After 19 years of age with my insurance, you have to pay for it. It was never disclosed to her that it was for a fluoride treatment, or asked if she wanted it.
So then she is told she has a cavity and needs a crown and it will cost over $600 that they want upfront. I called Metlife and they said that she did not do a pre-certification with them. So I went inside and confronted her, and she lied at first saying that she did. When I told her that she didn't call Metlife, then she said that she could. What she did, is charge an out-of-network fee, then when you submit your claim, you get your money back if you overpaid (which of course, you did, as it is in network). It's almost like operating like a bank, using your money, but not getting paid interest. In addition to the fluoride scam, they run an out-of-network upfront fee scam, saying that they checked and this is how much it would cost.

Aspen Dental told me on the phone that they had an "Endo who comes twice a month who could do it sooner here in town and much cheaper".

She said she did not know and went in the back. I call my dentist to tell him what is going on and to simply ask him why he wanted an Endo to do it because there are only REGULAR dentists working there and it all blew up! The dentist came storming up front yelling at me that if I have any hesitation about being there and have to call my dentist that I could just LEAVE IF I AM AFRAID IF SOMETHING GOING WRONG AND THEM BEING RESPONSIBLE!!
I had every right to ask a simple question about who was about to "work in my mouth" as I have several horror stories about others. My story started at The Largo FL Office on Seminole Blvd. So many things were wrong I am not sure I can explain in just a few hundred words. They cheated me, they lied to me, they pulled a tooth that did not need to be pulled, when it was time to get my permanent partial, I could not get it. Before I started the process I asked over and over when I paid them $400+ out of pocket, plus my insurance (they said 1100.00) if there would be any more charges, they said NO. 2. They told me I had to come in once a month for 6 months before I could get my permanent partial, while my mouth healed (found out that was a lie too). 3. The denture guy, made my partial wrong - it cut into my tongue on the right side of my mouth.
I told them for 4 months it did not fit my mouth. They kept saying, "its part of the healing process." When I finally got to talk to the denture guy his response was "How long have you been doing this?" I said, "Not at all, but I can tell when something doesn't fit in my mouth, and my tongue is cut." He left and got an aggressive dentist to come in and "talk to me" like I was a child.
Never seen anything like it. I gave up 5 months in (no one would listen to me) and chose to go to another Aspen Dental (Pinellas Park FL). They told me, that I have to spend another 6,700.00 so everything would be ready for my permanent partial, and showed me a trumped up bill that I never saw before and claimed it was from the other clinic, and that I had to go back there to get everything straightened out before I could come back. My insurance changes in January, I have no time, no teeth and no way to get them. They lied to me, they are trying to cheat me, and I have no recourse. This company needs to be put out of business. If there is a class action in Florida I would be happy to join.

At one time it use to stay in when I ate coming loose once in a while. At the same time they're telling me its the way my gums are and pushing for Implants that cost around $3-4k for a set> And I'm telling them I can't afford them, not everyone with dentures has implants! So then because they're new you get sores, so you have to go for an adjustment! Now after 2 or 3 adjustments too many they don't stay in at all!! EVERY TIME I eat they come loose in my mouth!! The problem there you very rarely have a dentist checking before the adjustment, its always the Dental assistants taking care of you! That's not good!
One of the last times I went in for a sore, 2 adjustments were made already then a dentist came in to check the sore and she fixed the sore issue right away, so those 2 adjustments probably didn't have to be done! Then they started coming loose when I eat and its been a couple months now. So I went back this last time about 3 or 4 weeks ago, now I actually had a dentist come in to check me, I couldn't believe it! He checked my mouth very well. Told me he thought he saw what could have been a problem with the muscle around my lower gums, made another adjustment on the denture and guess what, they still come loose EVERY TIME I eat!! I'M very upset with the outcome!
And to make matters worse, they realigned my upper denture for me a few months ago, that I had made by Gentle Dental, which is no longer, they changed their name, now the upper is coming loose a lot more!!! They advertise money back guarantee if you're not satisfied! Yeah, right! Try and get it! VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!

I made an appointment with Aspen Dental because I knew I needed a root canal and was in serious pain. I didn't currently have a dentist but I did have insurance. I went in and they gave me X-rays and checked my teeth, all without addressing my only concern at the time: the need of a root canal. I was told I have periodontal disease and needed a ton of work to make me "healthy" again. After I made them understand that I first and foremost needed a root canal, the total cost to me was quoted as, well over 6 thousand dollars. That was with my insurance. They lead me to believe that I *HAD* to address all the other issues as well as the root canal, with a series of visits for the next few months.
They demanded payment on each visit in full. They did offer me a credit line through care credit and even suggested I max out my current credit cards. I was actually in tears while speaking with the receptionist about the bill, knowing I couldn't afford the work and was in so much pain, still. The receptionist skimmed through the price quote, looking to "cut costs" for me. She offered to TAKE OFF THE $100.00 TOOTHBRUSH they included in the bill. ummm... what? When did I ask you to provide me with a one hundred dollar toothbrush? OK? So I should be thanking you? VERY upset with how I was treated at Aspen Dental. There may be a $215.05 charge for core buildup including pins that may apply to this. I decided I didn't want to have the expensive crown done, opted for a cheaper fix. They gave me a printout with the total of $2076.35 with a credit of $1017.15. I went through their DentalFirst finance plan. They said 800 but they can't guarantee it wouldn't break again so they convince me to get a partial. But before they can do this they need to remove my lower molar so it could fit. They said I need to pay them in full so I gave them 750 plus they got me involved with Genesis Credit. Big mistake. So they got all their money from the day they put my temps in. I went back several times. They assured me they wouldn't fall out. I wasn't comfortable at all.
So I left to have Thanksgiving in New Hampshire with my family. My mom said "did you do something to your tooth?" I ask "why?" "It looks so wrong. The shape and the color are way off." So we started to eat, the whole partial came off. I was so embarrass so I took them out for the rest of the day. The next day we went skiing. I put them back in because I called Aspen, they said they need to stay in in order for them to adjust to my other teeth. I'm skiing and wiped out and landed face first into the snow and notice emptiness in my mouth. My temps fell out. I look and look, no success. I called Aspen. I told them what happened. They said they would make another temp for me.
I get there and they told me it would cost me another 750 but they would discount to 655. I was stuck because my line of work I need to greet people and smile. So I paid them. I was still not satisfied with the results. I should have just got a crown in the first place. I would have saved a lot and less headaches. I moved with my job to Myrtle beach and made appt with Aspen so I can get my permanents. It cost more money. I've worn them maybe 20 times. I'm not happy with the whole thing. They now sit in a glass and there they stay. I'm asking for a refund for all the money I paid, plus I'm paying Genesis 100 a month for the second temps. Total for everything is 2145. Thanks. I ordered a new set of upper dentures, paid 80% upfront and balance when delivered. Was happy with them and it only took 3 adjustments for them to fit perfectly. After 3 months the problems set in. While eating one of the teeth fell out. Took it to them and they repaired it within 20 minutes. Then 2 months later another different tooth, fell out. Called and complained about it and they said they would investigate it. They came back to me 5 days later and said that according to their dentist the problem had to be because I was not wearing a lower partial and that was what was causing the individual teeth to keep falling out. I explained to them that I had been wearing an upper denture for over 35 years and not one of those teeth ever came out and had never worn a lower partial. They said that had nothing to do with it. I asked for a refund under their commercial stating that. They told me to bring in the denture and they would refund me my money.
I brought them in and had to talk them into giving me a receipt for dropping off the teeth. While waiting 15 minutes for the receipt I was fortunate to be standing there while they returned a denture that was repaired to another customer that had brought it in to have a tooth replaced that had fallen out. He stated to me that this was the second time he had to have them replaced also. By the way he had a full set of lower teeth. Obviously the problem is not with the customer not having a lower partial but with the construction of their dentures. Getting them to admit that is another story. Also don't expect any refund to be done in a timely matter. I had to call their office 3 weeks after dropping them off and was then told the following day they were about to process the refund. That was by the way 2 weeks ago... Still waiting.

My husband had a crown break off and needed immediate care. His dentist had retired so he was a little in limbo about where he should and could go for care. We'd both seen ads for Aspen Dental and in our area that was the only office that advertised emergency services. He walked in with one issue and came out with a $5000.00 debt and in a matter of weeks lost several other teeth. He wouldn't go back, he was actually traumatized. I tried calling several times to resolve the issue and was given the bum rush and no plan of resolution. Now they are suing him? Run, don't walk away from this company!!

I went to the Aspen Dental office in Columbia, TN to get a full set of dentures. I walked in and they all but welcomed me in with open arms, (I should have seen that as a sign). The young woman explained how their process worked. First they would take impressions of my teeth, then they would pull all of the remaining top teeth and enough of the bottom for a partial to fit. I would get a "training set" first and then in 6 months or so after my gums have had time to heal I would get my permanent set. She showed me some samples and said that the only difference between the "Classic" set and any of the upgrades was just cosmetic. As for the care, I would come in several times to get my soft liner replaced. So I got the "Classic" set.
I went in and got my teeth pulled and got my temporary set of dentures, they fit okay. The problems started about the second month when the bottom broke in half. Over the six months that I wore the temporary dentures the top and or the bottom broke maybe 8-10 times. What they "forgot" to tell me was that every time they replaced the soft liner they had to grind out the liner that was already in, so that meant that the plastic was getting thinner and thinner.
So now I have my permanent dentures and the top plate has broken twice. After I filed a complaint with the BBB they told me that the classic dentures only have a 1 year warranty and they fully expect the customer to come back within that year and get the much more expensive upgrade set. They made me an offer that they would repair the top 1 more time before the end of the year. Also, because I had already gotten the one set, they would sell me the upgrade top for $600.

I needed a dentist who'd work with me on an affordable plan. I live on limited income and am painfully aware of what my budget can afford. Utilizing limited insurance coverage to my best advantage (not the dentists) is critical. I stumbled across Aspen Dental's storefront sign, free exams & x-rays. Before the appointment I stressed this importance and they repeatedly assured me it was "free." On my appointment I was told they submit payment through insurance, which utilizes limited insurance coverage. That's specifically what I'd stated I needed to avoid. That is not "free." This defeated my whole purpose for going to Aspen Dental.
Throughout my appointment, the staff was insulting in responding as if I had no authority over my care and was too ignorant to manage my care. After unpleasant diagnostics I was taken to the finance office and that gentleman was more highly indignant, demanding I go into $2,000 debt for a periodontal cleaning. I asked for time to think about that cost & means of payment and he flatly refused to schedule the regular cleaning I asked for as covered by insurance. Aspen Dental tried to coerce me with insults and deceptive entrapments to enter an ultimate financial commitment for $4,532, all of which had to be paid in full before they would even perform any treatment. I've been insulted and taken advantage of by a lot of businesses, but I have never been so insulted and outraged as by Aspen Dental.
I find Aspen Dental engages in false advertising, deceptive business practices and indignant, maliciously negligent patient care that is wholly unacceptable. I would never entrust them with care of my teeth. I view Aspen Dental as a dishonest mechanic creating problems to financially benefit from them. I found Aspen Dental's manner so maliciously indignant, I am inspired to report them to my Attorney General as well as the Better Business Bureau.

He said "no I do not think I can or will be able to do anything for it." I looked at the helper horrified but said nothing. Next he was putting in something and asked me to relax 5 times and pulled on my cheek hard. Now I have not moved an inch since I got there and I think the doctor was mad for messing up.
So after the 5th time he said "relax" and yanked my cheek for no reason. I said "what the ** do you want me to do!" He said "what did you say" and said "what do you want me to. Relax, I have not moved or done anything. So I cannot relax anymore than I am and if it's something else I do not understand." He threatened to not finish due to me swearing and said he did not have to. So I said "yes you do" and he said no he does not. Now remember at this point this guy knocked out my tooth, had told me to do something I was doing 5 times and yanked on my cheek. So I ** out and said "ok I am sorry for swearing" hoping he would do something to the mess he made. He finished and would not give the helper or people upfront my follow up as I need more work and no one has called me from aspen yet. BEWARE.

When I made the appointment I especially told them I don't want hear all this garbage about how they can save my teeth. I already know I need dentures for the top. I went in for my X-ray and exam and when I met the dentist she told me I had to listen to all the options. She was very rude about it. After agreeing I need dentures for the top and also agreeing I have an infection I asked her for an antibiotic. She refused the antibiotic. I met with the financial person. She told it was going cost me 4850.95 for the work on my top extractions and my dentures. I told her I can pay $600.00 every two weeks until it's paid off, if I would be able to be put on payment plan.
She told I would be able to be put on a payment plan but no service would be rendered until it was paid in full. So I went home and realized it was going to take me until January to pay it off. So I called and again after explaining this to them requested an antibiotic for the infection. They called me back, told a prescription was written and would have to come in and get it. So here I'm thinking it's an antibiotic but it wasn't, it was a narcotic. I refuse to take it because I have always had issues with narcotics making me severely sick.

Thank God they did not try that. I had my teeth pulled by the Veterans Administration as part of my benefits and after a 4 week period of healing, went into Aspen to start the denture process. It's been two full weeks of daily trips into Aspen to get molds made and fitted. Repeated starts and failures and tomorrow I go back for my 7th visit and they are starting all over again, and claiming that my new dentures will be done on Wednesday. I seriously doubt it but am now at the point where they are on their last chance. After tomorrow if no perfectly satisfactory dentures are fitted I am pulling out and calling a lawyer so that I can get out of this contract.
I wish I had never gone in there. It seems like the problem is at the top with an incompetent dentist. Everyone else seems to earnestly be trying to do their job. May also be that no one there is competent. Hard to say but I am absolutely positive that they would not be able to fulfill their initial claim of dentures in one day. On the first visit they charged me almost 3,000 just for an extensive cleaning. Little did I know the ridiculous price that they added in for toothbrush, mouthwash, and toothpaste. They also added 7 antibiotics that were almost 200 a piece!! And this did not include the teeth that needed to be pulled. So I asked to cut the antibiotics which that lady did. So then I had a credit with the office.
The 4 bottom teeth are the worst so I was going to pull them and get the partial. At first they said I would have to do 200$ out of pocket so I said "fine, I'll wait and make a couple payments add to credit", that way I can just pay credit off and not have to pay out of pocket as well. Made a few payments and called. Then they told me it would be 1500 out of pocket!! And like I many others have said they just didn't seem to care… Very disappointed.

Went back next day had to make an appointment. Did x-rays and trimmed the filling down. It felt better. After about two months of having it done it fell out while eating a bagel. Had to struggle with them to get an appointment to get it redone. A different dr did it this time and said "you won't have a problem with it this time that's not falling out."
Well I was doing my usual bedtime routine brush floss and rinse. Well it hurt to floss this time but just thought something was stuck in there. Well while rinsing it fell out again. Called the dentist answering service. She called me back an hour later and said to come in tomorrow morning. I said I can't in the morning but can be there in evening. She said, "Ok well I can at least look at it but can't guarantee that I can fix it". I couldn't get to the appointment as I got stuck in traffic going there. They said that there was no openings for a week.
After the week went by, I called again to get in to see the dentist and they said they had no time again, only available when I was at work (I work 2 hours plus away from home). So I called a different Aspen Dental office to have them fix it since I couldn't get any help from this location. Got an appointment the next day at the Hanover, PA location. I told them that I was here trying to get it fixed since I had no help from the other office.
They couldn't do anything till I paid for the exam, and then she argued with me that I had not had any x-rays since 2014 (which as noted above I did in fact have x-rays done in March 2015 specifically on this problem tooth) and then couldn't guarantee that the Dr could even help me today. I walked out, didn't get it fixed and am going to a new dentist tomorrow. Done with Aspen Dental. For years I have been very afraid of going to the dentist. When I finally had dental insurance I went to Aspen with a slew of dental issues. I was informed that before they would begin any procedures I had to pay upfront, either with my own money or through a dental loan whose information was provided by them. UNKNOWN TO ME if I had spaced the procedures out over a few month my insurance would have covered ALMOST ALL of the procedure and I would not have had to take out the loan. If I would have had half of the procedures down and then waited 5 months for my insurance year to start over I would have only had to pay approximately $1,000 instead of having to take out a $4,000 loan (AGAIN OFFERED BY THEM).
Unfortunately I was not aware of this at the time and I reached my deductible before my bridge procedure was performed. That $3000 procedure was not covered by my insurance at all. Again had waited 5 months, 80% of it would have been covered. This company appears very helpful with your well being in your best interest. However they prey on people who are not informed so that their loan company can make money off of the high interest rate loans they offer. I WILL NEVER USE ASPEN AGAIN AND HIGHLY ADVISE OTHERS TO NOT AS WELL.

I had a flexible partial (upper) denture done by Aspen in 2007. All went fine but... in 2015 I now needed a full upper denture. So why not Aspen??? I will tell why should NOT have been done by Aspen. As I write this I am still 4 weeks away from new impression for my permanent denture... takes 6 mo of healing and shrinking, I get it. However, in the first 6 weeks my temp denture had 4 teeth break off from the denture (one time from a potato chip). Imagine that, a damned potato chip broke my very expensive tooth regardless that it was a temp and supposed to last 6 months. Now it gets even better. 4 weeks ago the denture palate splits almost in 2 from the center line of the front teeth 2/3 of the way back... and they want me to wait almost a week to be seen... UNACCEPTABLE. I scream so they see me the next day. Will update later on result of permanent one to be done mid August.
Now after all that, my wife had always had a fair result at Aspen. A couple fillings, cleanings - she does not wear denture(s) Until a week ago. She makes an appointment to have a crown that came off and needed to be cemented back on. After they collect 1/2 upfront on phone (thought that was odd) since she was a returning client they have had 'scheduling issues' and have reset the appointment 2 times... Today they call and want to reschedule again. My wife said "No and please refund my card. I will have it done elsewhere." The receptionist said she would have to discuss that w/ the office manager who has yet to reach out to us.

I had an appointment today at 4:30 p.m. I get a call at 3 p.m. an hour and a half before my appointment saying the doctor sick and will be cancelling. I not only waited an entire month for this appointment, but this is the second time they cancelled my appointment without any notice. I call the office to complain and the receptionist is completely rude. The other times that I did actually get to keep my appointment, the workers there complained about their job the entire time in front of all of the customers. I am so fed up with this company and their unprofessionalism, I told them I will not be coming back ever again and scheduled a new appointment with a new dental office.

I have been to them a couple times and got screwed each time. The first time was I cracked a tooth. My old dentist retired so decided to go to them. They looked at my teeth and said I needed a root canal and a cap so I was thinking OK let get this done. On my next appointment I come in/check in and wait. Then I wait some more after around 45 mins I go to the desk to see what is going on. The receptionist says "ohh you signed in". I get in after another 30 mins (had to get my tooth done).
The doctor does a check on my other teeth and then does the root canal and measure a fitting for a cap. Then the sales lady comes in and the doctor starts telling her numbers. Then the lady brings me to a room for a hard sell - the doctor says I have 23 cavities and I need a gum flush - "is going to cost $6200 but we got financing". I laughed and said no. Then she tells me my teeth are in danger of falling out. I told her I go to the dentist every 6 months and she shut up.

I made an appointment with Aspen Dental in Speedway, Indiana. I had been experiencing pain in a tooth that the filling had fallen out of. I had just had my teeth cleaned in December of 2014 from another dentist office (not Aspen). I arrived at my appointment and had to have several x-rays taken. Once I was called back to the exam room, I sat there for 15 minutes and the hygienist came in and examined my teeth. She informed that if I hear the number 4, we would discuss her findings. Well I actually only heard the number 4 about 3 times. She proceeds to tell me that I have gingivitis and I would need a deep cleaning as well as this special mouth wash and and an Oral-B toothbrush that I found out cost $ 129.00. Well, I was in shock first to find out that I have gingivitis! I mean, I only missed my 6 month checkup by 1 month. REALLY!!!
Then the dentist himself comes in to address the main reason I came, which was to get my tooth filled. Well, he introduces himself and said he has a couple of options, and then he proceeds to tell me that he recommends that I have a root canal because the tooth is still good and filling it would not help. I said, "well what is the other option?" And he said, "oh! you can have it pulled, but I'm sure you want to keep it, so the root canal is the better option." Well I'm thinking 'I'm sure you would because you make more money with a root canal versus pulling my tooth.' He said "I will have the financial manager come in and talk to you about cost."
Anyway she comes to get me and tells me that it will be $1100.00 after insurance pays their portion. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! Well I'm just going to go to the bank and pull out $1100.00 to line your pockets. Then I ask about the cost of pulling my tooth - first she says about $60.00 then she jumps to $404.00. "Wait a minute, I'm confused, is it $60.00 or $404.00?" She said, "oh that's with your deep cleaning (remember I supposedly have gingivitis) and the hygienist recommends a 'deep cleaning' as well as the Oral-B toothbrush."
Needless to say, I am still in pain. And isn't just human kindness to give someone who is in pain some pain medication? I mean just recommend some Tylenol to make me think you care about me. But since I did not have the money to get this overpriced root canal, I am nothing. And you Mr. Dentist, your bedside manner sucks and I would not let you cut my toenail. DO NOT GO TO ASPEN DENTAL IN SPEEDWAY, INDIANA. Also, I had to go back and get my insurance card and the front desk clerk had left it on the counter for all to see.

Went to the Cookeville, TN office for first appointment and was super excited because I finally had dental insurance and a flex share card through my employer so I knew I could finally take care of a front tooth visible cavity as well as a chipped front tooth (needed a crown). I waited approximately an hour to be brought back. The X-ray technician was personable and apologetic for the millions of devices she had to shove in my mouth for pics, however when I went to the back the dentist took about another thirty minutes to appear. She was cold and impersonal and said very little. When I told her I was nervous and had a great deal of anxiety about dentist she literally said "I'm going to need you to open your mouth and sit back now." Kind of like, "let's get this over with." She said nothing else to me but said a bunch of numbers to the x-ray girl then left the room.
The hygienist was a very pretty bubbly pregnant girl that actually was very nice except for the fact she took a sharp tool and didn't tell me what she was doing but I felt her scratching my gums while like the doctor she said number after number. I began to taste blood in my mouth. When she finally let me sit up, I asked her... "Should I taste all this blood?" She then told me "Oh yea," I could rinse if I wanted... I waited another 30 minutes for an office manager who shook my hand and directed me to a back room. I let her know I was in a hurry because at this point I was going to be late picking up my daughter. She said if I wanted to I could come back to do my financing. I'm thinking, financing?? I have insurance and a flex share card with 500 on it, let's just hurry and "do" the financing and schedule the appointment to fix those front teeth, which is why I came.
She had a list of over 12,000 bucks worth of work she said was all doctor ordered work and only two of the items on the list, some kinda cancer rinse and something else, was optional. I'm thinking, wait a minute I only want my chipped tooth and front cavity fixed. I explained this to her and she literally told me if I did not pay the full 12,000 dollars to have deep cleaning, root canal, filling, etc that they would not fix my front teeth. She explained it that my gums were not healthy and they don't believe in putting a band aid over the problem, it was all or nothing.
Aspen Dental does all their financing through a third party, you do not make payments by the appointment - it's one lump sum, you pay upfront then you schedule the work. I had no idea! With my insurance and my flex share card I would still have to finance 7,000 dollars. The office manager/financial advisor/loan processor whatever she was changed her whole demeanor and became almost hateful and rude. I broke down and appealed to her humanity and told her... "Come on now, I came here to fix these front teeth, as a woman it's embarrassing and at a later date I can slowly pay for all this other stuff as I am able to afford it." She outright told me she couldn't help me then. I then thanked her for wasting my entire afternoon.
They are in the business to get you for as much money as they can. I could buy a new vehicle for as much as they wanted for the unattainable perfect white smile they advertise!! Most people have anxiety about going to the dentist to begin with and wait years before they finally decide to do something about it and it's really horrible that this was my first contact with the dentist in years! Zero comfort, rude, snobby office managers and clinical cold, impersonal, money hungry dentist, DO NOT GO TO ASPEN DENTAL.

I completed a required first visit checkup ($19 including x-rays) in order to be eligible for a basic cleaning service that was supposedly only $60. This turned out to be a major bait and switch activity. After all of the extensive x-rays I was informed that I may possibly have oral cancer. The 'c' word gets your attention. After this chilling revelation, they proceeded to do the measurements at the gum lines (???) and 'sadly' inform me of my tragic gum disease.
Evidently I have way too much bacteria hiding in my gums to even do a basic cleaning. I find this to be really odd in that I have my teeth cleaned annually at an independent dental office that is not associated with Aspen. In addition, I brush my teeth daily and use a waterpik several times a day. I never have a bad check up at my regular dentist AND the hygienist cannot make my gums bleed (which tells me my gums are not a harbinger of bacteria).
Why use Aspen you are wondering; the lure of inexpensive 'basic' services was my only draw to the business since I am not insured under a dental plan. I wanted just a simple basic cleaning. To sum this up, I was taken into the 'financial' area and given the bad news that the next visit would be close the $1300 for the 'deep cleaning' with a $200 visit every three months afterwards until the gum problems are cleared up. BUT - $70 of that visit also would include the cancer screening process - whoopie. The lady looked at me and said, "you didn't expect this, did you?" Naturally I said "no."
I really wanted to say a lot more but held back. Why bother? She proceeded to say "we finance." I wanted to laugh by then. I took my printout for the charges if I change my mind and want to get 'healthy.' My poor husband had to listen to me complain the entire way home but we did get a good laugh and I am not feeling so bad about paying much more to my dentist and hygienist now. It was worth the $19 reality check.

I also went to Aspen Dental expecting great things because of the commercials, however I feel both myself and my husband received poor care. We both dentures but his teeth were already out so he went first because of the cost. When he came out of the office he looked like the commercial with doggie dentures. They were nothing like his normal teeth and he could not wear them, and still refuses to! I went to them because they were approved by my insurance company. My teeth were pulled, my dentures came in in about 4 days (the temporary plate) which they said were perfect but I couldn't keep them in my mouth, much less eat anything solid. I was using dental paste just to keep them in my mouth, but was managing when the top plate broke!
I went immediately to the office where they stuck it back together until the permanent set would come in. When the dentures came in the bottom plate have a see through area. It is closed but thin enough to see through it. I said to the hygienist "I hope they will hold." She simply said "so do I." No offer to have the dentist check them or anything. I paid for the top of the line thermotreated dentures to receive these cheap ones and now a tooth fell out of the lower plate and I must have swallowed it in my sleep! I am going in tomorrow to see if they will make things right. I will repost with the result, but my point is I should not have to take time off work to go to have the situation resolved.

I broke a tooth on a late Friday afternoon. I called my regular dentist and the office was closed. I wanted treatment quickly so I called Aspen and was able to get into the office on Monday afternoon. They took approximately 20 painful x-rays. A dental hygienist did some kind of probing for bone loss and said I need to buy a special electric toothbrush from them for my gingivitis. Finally a dentist did a very brief exam, (maybe 5 mins), did not use a single instrument, and said I would need a crown to fix my broken painful tooth. He also said I have issues on the other side of my mouth and will need a root canal.
I was sent to the financial person who presented me with a $3,821 estimated treatment plan. I asked for an itemized list of these treatments, which she did reluctantly. She wanted me to schedule appointments right away and referred me to carecredit.com if I needed financial assistance. I told her that I needed to speak with my husband first. Also asked if Dr. could prescribe a mild pain medication. He said he couldn't.
Some examples from the itemized cost list: Crown - $975 (for tooth #19), Oral cancer screening- $70, Oral B electric toothbrush - $129, Gingival Irrigation - $64, Antimicrobial rinse - $26, Prophylaxis 2 times - $82 each time, Floride - $36, Antimicrobial gel - $26, Root canal, crown, etc for tooth # 29 $1103. I was able to get into my regular dentist on Thursday and he fixed my tooth for $120!!! I saved myself 3 $3701. I do not Aspen to contact me since I not out any time, pain or money. The office I visited was in Kokomo, IN.

I was very upset because I went there for them to solve the problem and to take my pain away as they did not! Then I went back in another time because that same tooth has now cracked and half of my tooth has fallen out! I call to make an appointment asking if they could fix it. They told me they could squeeze me in, so I went.
As I'm there they once again look at my tooth for a min and told me to schedule ANOTHER appointment for them to fix it! I have half of my tooth in my hand and they were going to send me home! They don't solve the problem right away. They drag it out so it cost more money to patient and inconvenience! I went to a trustful dentist so he could tell me what exactly I needed, but because of my insurance, I couldn't be taken care of. I brought my x-rays to Aspen, and told them exactly what I needed to have done. I was very clear when I made the appointment.
When I got there, they told me I had to have a panoramic view x-rays. I told them I already had x-rays, and they showed what I needed to have done, but they would not stop asking until I had that panoramic view done. When I saw the dentist, she evaluated me, and told me what I already explained to the Medical assistant in that office. She told me to make an appointment to have that tooth taking care of. I told her that the only reason I went there, was to have that filling done. She said she couldn't, that she had to make an appointment.
I had to pay 40 dollars for my co-payment for no reason. Comenity Bank is a nightmare to follow their billing if Aspen is successful in getting you to sign more than one contract.
They are all separate, but one payment, and an accounting nightmare for the patient. One day late payment is reported to the credit reporting companies. And late payment fee for a $25 payment is $35. Unfair billing practices, but they insist it is all in the long contract. You can do better for sure. I made an appointment online for the Hixson,TN location because of the tremendous pain I was having with my wisdom tooth. I developed an infection that due to my wisdom tooth growing in. So I made an appointment with Aspen because I don't have insurance and don't have the money for insurance right now. I simply just wanted to make sure everything was ok in my mouth seeing that I had not been to the dentist in 10 years. I am a 26 year old health nut who doesn't drink soda and flosses and brushes daily so I didn't expect them to see much but the wisdom tooth situation. Boy was I wrong.
The hygienist tried selling me on a 40 dollar mouth cancer screening which I totally don't need. Then she poked the crap out of my gums calling out numbers till I looked like I just got punched in the mouth. She asked if I wanted to rinse... ummm YEAH! I don't like swallowing a mouth full of blood. It shouldn't even be a question. Anyways, she purposely talked so fast about an expensive toothbrush and said I was in early stages of gingivitis. I was SHOCKED! She talked so fast like she was reading cue cards on what to say. Like she's said it a million times over and over..
I apparently needed a 2 day procedure in which I would need a local anesthetic and so on and so forth, something about cleaning my gums and having a 150 dollar toothbrush. I was so dumbfounded by the information I was hearing, I asked nicely what has caused the bacteria to form under my gums. She without hesitant and a little attitude "Not flossing" and smirks and goes back to her paperwork. Like I was the bad guy, I said "That's funny. I do floss daily".
Then the dentist arrives which he was very nice. He informs me that I have 1 small cavity and my wisdom teeth are coming in and pushing my other teeth which caused the infection and that I needed them out immediately. I said "They don't all hurt and I don't feel the other wisdom teeth". But oh well he gave me a prescription for the infection and he left. I then proceeded to wait in the chair for oh 30 or so minutes before the financial advisor came in and took me back to his office where he printed off the wrap sheet of all the work I needed. I may be young but I sure as hell am not dumb.
My total cost of work I needed came out to be $7,000! Get out of town! I almost fell out of the chair. He kept pushing the credit card but I insisted I must do my own research on insurance before jumping in to that mess. Never Again. I will obviously be getting a 2nd opinion elsewhere and some insurance ASAP. Also coming home I looked over the receipt of the things they were going to charge me for and that damn fancy toothbrush and a whole list of BS was on there.

I found a more helpful, caring dentist that will provide cleaning, x-rays and exam for $35; a dental office that actually wants to have and keep new patients and won't make me wait 73 days to get seen and some relief.

Simple, I was charged over $6,000 for two cleanings one filling and a $200 tooth brush. My insurance covered about $4,000 and left me owing about $2,000. They set me up with a loan company and said I could pay $75.00 a month for two years. When I got the statement from the loan company they set me up with, they said if I made the minimum payment of $75.00 it would take me four years to pay it off. This would be about double of what I owed making my bill about $8,000. In my opinion, Aspen Dental is a Rip Off.

I had been fitted for dentures 4 years ago. Before meeting with the dentist, I had decided, due to our financial situation, on a middle of the road financing, which included a middle of the road denture with a middle-of-the road warranty/guarantee. My dentures came in, were beautiful and, as is usual with all new dentures, needed fine-tuning to get the right fit. I went back for adjustments, so many times over the next 3 years that I've lost count. Most of the problem was pain when I bit down. The dentist ground down the problem areas for comfort. I couldn't actually know if it helped with chewing until I ate something later.
My overall goal was for my molars to finally meet together and enable me to chew things like lettuce, nuts, and steak, etc. this never happened. I still haven't been able to eat anything that requires the normal grinding action that molars provide. After almost 4 years, I again returned to tell them this and a new dentist went over my chart and informed me that my jaw "obviously " shifted and there was nothing they could do about it. He told me to seriously consider dental implants because I didn't have enough bone structure to actually hold regular dentures. I was NOT told this in the beginning.
The rest of this might not be necessary to tell you but MIGHT have something to do with my experience there: On the first visit, the dentist met with me and went over the procedure, and then my choice of color. I wanted the whitest color available in my cost range. For some reason, the dentist asked me which one I would pick if I had no cost limit. We talked about how unnatural the whitest white would look, but, if I had no limits in cost, I would still pick the whitest. However, I reiterated that I could not afford the whitest, which were also in the highest cost and lifetime guarantee range, in other words the best dentures they offer. The dentist understood my financial situation yet told me not to worry about cost and wrote up the order for the highest end denture, in the color I WOULD have picked if I could afford them.
I then went on to the financing department where the manager had to go back to explain to the dentist that the order she had written up was not in my price range. She assured them that this was the type she wanted ordered but for the price I had originally planned. They reluctantly wrote up my financial arrangement for the middle-of-the-road cost dentures, while ordering the high-end best dentures. In the end, I was billed for the lower cost dentures but received the best (and whitest) dentures they have. This was awesome to me. I am currently working on obtaining my receipts from my archived files. Can I submit them after sending you this complaint? I truly believe they have not lived up to their warranty. I don't know, however, if I have enough of a case to win a lawsuit against them. Can you advise me on that?

Had a plate for four years and no matter how much it was adjusted, I could not wear it. Got the best one in the hopes it would be worth the price. I paid over $1800 for this. From the very first it would not stay in when I ate no matter how much adhesive I used. It was cut down, re-molded, and literally messed up, so in the end I could not wear it without making sores in my mouth. I was told I could have another plate made, but when I called to see if this option was still available, I would have to go to the original office over 250 miles away. It was suggested I could get a refund, but again I had to go to this office. I refused because I felt it could be done closer to where I now live.
The representative I spoke with was rather sharp with me but he told me if I came to the Green River Road, Evansville, Indiana office I could get the refund there, but it would be over two weeks before he could see me about this. I went there today and it was a whole different story. For one, I would only receive half of the amount I was promised earlier on the phone and I would have to wait until the other office approved the refund or else I could go the 250 miles and collect it. The representative there talked so fast that I was not sure if he even knew what he was saying. I had to leave the plate there in order for me to get the refund. I know that I will not see any money whatsoever, but oh well the plate has been sitting in my medicine cabinet for almost the entire time I have had. My advice like all the others, save the money and go to a local dentist.

First my husband went there for a tooth to be pulled, then they said he needed 2000.00 worth of work done. He had his tooth pulled and then made an appointment to get his teeth cleaned and the fist appt. they had for him was two months away. 1 day before the appt. they called and said they would have to cancel due to a employee's child was sick. So I said "ok, when can we get him in again?" He needed a 415 appt. and then they said 2 more months. My insurance company said their contract states 30 days or less. Then I went for a exam and they said I need 2500.00 worth of work and I went home and got a price chart for the insurance company and starting comparing apples to oranges and they overcharged me for everything... Then I compared my husband's and it was the same.
I then was pretty mad and called my insurance company and filed a complaint. Then I seen 16 charges for 16 dollars that the insurance would not cover so I then ask the insurance company to as why. She was laughing and said "you need to call the and tell them to take that off your bill because it was rinsing your mouth out." So after talking to Aspen many times for them to correct my bill, I have decided to blow this pop stand. I just had to file a 2nd complaint with the insurance company and let me tell you the insurance company are NOT happy with Aspen Dental. How many people have just paid the bill without questioning charges? I'm still waiting for a refund because they tried to charge my husband for 2 perm. partials instead of one temp and one perm. Do not go there because they are trained to be money hungry rip offs.

This past November I had a tooth that started hurting. It wasn't a horrific pain but I had lost a piece of the tooth about a year prior and knew I had to have it taken care of. I went to Aspen pretty much just because they had evening and Saturday hours. What a mistake. First off, I have a very tiny mouth. They literally have to use children's xray pieces in order to fit them in my mouth. After I don't know how many times of trying to cram full size pieces into my mouth they finally decided to try the smaller stuff. This happened every time someone took x-rays. I admit I haven't been to the dentist in probably close to ten years. After an exam I was told I needed a root canal on the tooth that was bothering me, a crown on another top tooth, five fillings, a cleaning and a treatment for infection in my gums. Keep in mind, I went in there with one tooth bothering me. The total price tag for all this? $4800.
Now, I'm not rich. I don't have dental insurance. Oh, but they have financing. Well, my husband already had a Care Credit card. They would not increase his limit. So we applied for, and got, another line of credit that would only pay for half the work. We were told that if we picked the payment plan that we picked there would be no interest as long as we always paid on time. What they didn't inform us of was that it had to be paid in full within like a year and a half. That would amount to $400 per month which we cannot afford so... if we pay the minimum payment it will take 13 years and cost almost $7000 for the $2800 that we borrowed. The rest, I had to get in a loan from my employer. So... I was told that all this work would be done before Thanksgiving. (That was about two weeks.)
I've never seen so many appointments in my life. A financing appointment. An appointment for just part of the cleaning, then a second appointment to finish it. I had my root canal. During the procedure a tool that was very hot was used. I'm not sure what that was. However, after I got home and the numbness started wearing off my lip starting hurting something awful. I looked in the mirror... The dentist had burnt the living heck out of my lip. I had a big blister that took over a week to heal. Then, I went back to have my fillings done. The dentist would do one filling and then leave me sit there to go see another patient. This went on through all five fillings.
And then when I realized that he wasn't filling a tooth that I knew needs to be. I asked about it and the original dentist had not even documented it. It was a cavity that shouldn't have been missed. It was quite visible. They said either I could wait an hour for everyone to come back from lunch and have it done then or I could schedule it for another time. Needless to say I didn't stay. So, up to six fillings that I had done. I had no less than eight appointments to get this work done. The fillings that I had done are not smooth. They are very sloppy and rough. And over the last week the tooth I had the root canal has started hurting. In fact, since I had the work done I have teeth hurting that never bothered me before. They are all the teeth that I had work done on.

The last appointment I had, I went in to get my wax mold done and was sent home with no teeth because the technician was late. I had to come back several hours later. Today I went back and the bottom teeth did not fit right so the Dr. said the technician is running late and I needed to come back later. I told him no, I had an appointment and they should have called me and I would wait for her.. He got mad and called me a ** and I needed to quit ** and keep my voice down.
I was upset and crying and he finally came and tried to help when another technician was there. I'm so afraid the next time I go, my teeth will not fit and he will do the same thing... I had an aggressive periodontal gum disease which was causing my gums to recede so badly that my teeth were movable. I knew the inevitable was to get dentures and I did extensive research online. I was drawn to Aspen Dental because of the wide selection of dentures they offered, more particularly, the comfy lytes. I was excited by the fact that they offered this superior denture (stain, impact, discoloration resistant) that was supposed to be colored and look like natural teeth. When I went they were fantastically nice, but like many others have mentioned on here, they zoomed through my evaluation and shuttled me into the financing manager. I left there that day with a 1500 loan, and owing another 4,500 after my insurance. So I go into debt to get my surgery and what I am expecting to be, stellar and beautifully natural looking teeth. Casts for temp teeth were done. and in prep for surgery, I get 2 Halcion pills.
I am to take one on my way and the other when I get there. That, my friends, is all the anesthetic you get for the removal of 30+ teeth. Lucky for me, I don't remember anything for 2 days, my friend, on the other hand, was not so lucky. Healing time sucked and they do give you a liner for your temporary teeth one your gums heal. I warn you though, the liner will never lose the chemical taste. I am sitting here after 2 years wearing the bottoms of my temp set after my comfy lyte broke in half and I am still choking on the chemical taste. I skip ahead and I now have my permanent set. I chose the best set they had to offer, the comfy lytes.
My first warning is that the model they show is much much nicer than the actual set that wound up in my mouth. The ones I wound up with are oddly similar to the temp set I had expect for the teeth color. Very similar. At the fitting, I discussed that there were things I did not like about them. The teeth on my left side are angled upwards which makes an odd effect when smiling. They fit uncomfortably in several places (even 2 years later I still find myself uncomfortable). They rock up and down when chewing, I chew on one side the denture on the other side pulls down in a painful way scraping my gum. Same for the other. They assured me that all suggestions would be included in the final set, When I get the final set none of my suggestions were done. The teeth still angles upward, they still rocked. I did not really notice much until later because I was sure I'd just need to get used to them.
After several adjustments I was told the rocking was just a natural thing for teeth and the upwards teeth was just a perception. Well I'm still sitting here with uncomfortable dentures and now my bottom set completely broke in half today while eating a pop tart. No previous indications that there was cracking until I ran my tongue over them this morning and felt the crack. Then they broke. For the quality they promised and the resistance they promised, I am disappointed. I would have settled for a basic pair as they seem much more durable than the comfy lytes. I am making an appointment to have them fixed as I am supposed to have a 7yr warranty. I was also supposed to have yearly cleaning but that still have yet to happen.

Made an appointment for a toothache and I knew the tooth needed extracted. First off I'm taken in by the xray person for a full mouth xrays. These took forever, was painful and have never had so many xrays anywhere ever. Had to have the person stop once because it was cutting into my mouth. Finally after all of this a dentist came in and asked me why I was there and which tooth had the pain. I showed him and he immediately started talking about a bottom denture. Told him I knew I needed a lower denture and he said he would give me a price if I wanted. I told him ok.
Never once did he address the issue of the tooth I came in for. He just started telling his assistant which teeth were simple extractions and which were surgery. I asked him what about this one tooth in the mean time. He told me to take pain medicine and antibiotic. He then wrote a script for 800mg Motrin and a script for penicillin that was for an upper tooth. I was speechless but by this time I was so annoyed and I knew he wasn't about to touch my mouth period!!
In the mean time the office manager is writing up a complete plan for everything needed including the bottom denture. This took forever and I was more and more annoyed and anxious. Then in comes the hygienist and showing my xrays talking about a deep scale cleaning for upper teeth, a special tooth brush, mouth rinse, and prescription tooth paste... all of these were extras they could charge for. Told them the office manager better get back there because I'm going home and she (the hygienist) is not going to touch my mouth today. Finally the office manager takes me to her office and discusses different price dentures etc. Anyway it ended was being almost $5000. Said I could apply for their credit in their office or online at a couple of other places.
When you have a dental plan and are approved the dental office, especially thru Care Credit is paid up front. You cannot do a pay as you go on this credit. Told her no credit app in office. Mentioned to her my tooth that I came in for was not taken care of. She then said "Oh the Dr. can do that now if you want." I told her "NO I'm going home." These corporate dental companies many employees including the office manager receive bonuses for the thousands they can sign you up for. Never will I ever go to Aspen Dental again or set foot in there. STAY AWAY and go to your local dentist. They are not even professional.

I went for my very first appt at Aspen Dental last week. After the initial paperwork I was given xrays. I don't remember ever having so many xrays at a dentists office in the past but figured it had been so long since I had any that maybe things have changed. After that I was taken to another room where a hygienist took a look and informed me that I needed a 2 part deep cleaning under the gum line. The Dr then came in and examined my mouth, looked at the xrays, etc. He told me I would need a couple crowns, a bridge, and a partial which I could believe because I'm ashamed to say, haven't been to a dentist in 20 years and at age 63 have two broken teeth and a couple missing. I felt rushed and he vaguely answered the few questions that I could think of at the moment.
He then quickly passed me on to the lady in charge of finances. This part of the visit took up more time than anything else. She is the one who attempted to explain in detail what I would need to have done. And then came the bottom line of $8500-$9000. We decided that I would apply for one $3000 loan at a time until all the work had been done. I was also strongly urged to purchase their electric toothbrush system at an extra cost of somewhere around $150 I believe.
When I asked her how these crowns were going to blend in with my existing teeth, she said "Oh, if you want your teeth to be the same color you will have to have a professional bleaching at $300 in the office or a ten day home kit at $150. and do this before we do any of the other work". This is what caused me to have second thoughts. As it was, I had been feeling like I was being rushed thru this whole process and they were leaving out all the little details unless I thought to ask about them.
After about 30 minutes talking about loans, etc the finance lady had to leave the office for a few minutes to attend to something else just before we were to begin to apply for credit. She was gone for so long that I realized how long I had been there and had to leave for another errand so I told her I would be back to finish up our visit and left. I couldn't shake the uneasy feeling I had about this whole experience so decided to take a look online for reviews and thankfully I found this site. I have decided to go with my initial gut feeling and see another dentist.
To be fair, everyone was pleasant and personable except for maybe the Dr who seemed to be in a rush to get back to the patient next to me. And by the way, two days after my appt I received a call from someone with an Indian accent telling me that my loan for $3000 had been approved (which I declined). We hadn't gotten to the request for credit yet but it sounds like she went ahead and submitted one anyway after I left the office.

In November 2014 I had a tooth extracted and got fitted for a partial (in the Route 50 Saratoga, NY, office). I dealt mainly with **, whose title I don't know but she was some sort of finance manager, and she was really good. She showed me a number of options, including several types of partials, and the packages this entailed. I know buying the temporary partial meant I could buy the permanent one after my mouth healed.
I returned one single time for an adjustment (either in November or December) because the partial was hurting my mouth pinching my cheek and tongue. This was adjusted for me. It was a slight improvement, but the thing never fit right. I spent more than five months with a lisp and whistling while I talked. When I smile all you see is wires. I despise this thing and how poorly it fits. Dr. ** adjusted it last week, and it fits better, but I doubt it will ever fit right.
Imagine my surprise when I went to the office last week (4/22) and **, the technician (?) seemed shocked when I told her I'd never been in for more than that one adjustment. She said, "But the wound and gums heal, bone shifts. You were supposed to come in every four or five weeks for an adjustment." Imagine my shock and utter disgust when I discovered not one single person bothered to mention this to me, despite several trips to the office (for the procedure, for removal of stitches, for that one adjustment). They had numerous opportunities to share this rather valuable information with me. Instead I lived through months and months of this ridiculous, ill-fitting thing. To say I'm livid is an understatement. Dr. ** was just as surprised as ** and just shook his head.
Last week I got a letter suggesting I was properly healed and that I should come in for the fitting of my permanent partial. I called ** on Monday (4/20), and she scheduled me for a 2:30 appt. Perfect, because I have doctors appointments and it's tough to work around them. On Tuesday 4/22 I got a two separate emails confirming my 3:30 appointment. I called the office to straighten it out. The girl who answered was about as unhelpful as could be and tried to get ** on the phone with me. What for? I asked. So ** can confirm the wrong time with me? I'm not sure what this girl expected ** to do. **, who had screwed up the appointment in the first place. I said to this girl, "Either you have a 2:30 open tomorrow or you don't." Talking to ** isn't going to fix her mistake. But instead of an apology or suggestions to fix this, there was silence. So I said goodbye and hung up.
I saw Dr. ** on 4/22 (at 3:30). I'm still not sure why this office is so dead against flippers, which is what I asked for. Instead, I feel I was upcharged to buy an $1800 permanent partial, which I couldn't stand. (I couldn't stand the temporary one, and nothing led me to believe this was going to be much better). I could barely speak with the partial, could never eat with it, and hated the way it felt. (Perhaps if it had been properly adjusted all these months I would feel differently, but I want nothing to do with partials.) But I was told the flipper is too fragile, has wires sticking out of it (another complaint I have about the partial every time I smile, all you see is wires), and wasn't cost-effective. (They break often, I was told.)
(As an aside I saw my mother later that day and asked to see her flipper. Hers has no wires sticking out of it and looks like it's surrounded by natural gums. She told me she's had it for years and years. She's very careful with it, but she has no complaints! And hers certainly isn't fragile, and knock wood, she's never had to replace it.)
After the appt. I went upfront to check out and met with some young girl (no ID or name tag, and she never identified herself, though it turned out to be **) who presented me with a piece of paper that confused the heck out of me: Accepted treatment plan estimate: $1848.00 Coupon/discounts: $ 369.60 Estimated patient portion: $1478.40. So this apparently included three fillings and a deep cleaning. She tells me it included a discount, but she never said what that was. Instead of a large chart (like ** had used in November) detailing the types of partials (and prices!), I'm shown three physical sets of teeth, two of which look exactly the same (yet there's a significant difference in cost). I have no clue what I was shown. I had/have no clue what anything costs.
(Also, in November I used CareCredit to pay for my treatment. This is my mother's account, but she signed for it. Just the other day I was again looking at the signature page in my chart. I handed ** the CareCredit card and she refused to accept it. She told me to call my mother to get me added as a signer on the account. I told her I had no interest in doing that. So she decided to call my mother [I'm forty-nine years old, by the way, not some child] with me sitting there. Instead of clarifying that I'm authorized to use this card, she asked my mother [a retiree in her seventies] to come in the next day to sign an agreement you know, identical to the signed one in my chart! Then she added, "Or you can call CareCredit and make ** an authorized signer."
Neither my mother nor I had any desire for me to do this, and she had real nerve even suggesting it. Rather than even attempt to use or run the card to see if the charge might be authorized, she took it upon herself to decline me from even trying to use it. I walked out of there without another appointment because she refused to make one for me.) Later that evening I decided to leave a message for **, hoping she could straighten this out. The message was pleasant and in no way blamed **, despite the fact that this was 100% her fault and I was quite angry with her. She also made me feel rather stupid. In the message I left I asked ** to please get back to me so we could straighten this out.
The next day I had a voice mail from **. ** was not only the one I had met with, she was the one who'd managed to screw up my appointment. I listened to the message and was shocked first by the lack of apology and then by the lack of care or compassion. First she informed me ** no longer worked there. Then she spent the entire voice mail message defending herself (I kept it in case you'd like to hear it), telling me she handled everything correctly, adding "Your mom would spend literally two seconds calling CareCredit to straighten this out." First, someone PLEASE explain to ** what literally means. But much, much more importantly, please explain proper customer service.
The last thing I wanted was yet another lecture on Aspen Dental's office politics, or why ** was oh-so-right about everything and I apparently was dead wrong. I didn't want a message where she barely discussed anything I brought up but instead defended her actions. Her self-indulgent attitude and lack of professionalism are disgusting. She lastly suggested I contact the office manager, which is where this letter was originally headed, but I really don't want more of the same nonsense. I don't want to deal with the people who work with ** everyday, who likely trained her. I only want to deal with professionals who aren't defensive, who give a damn about their patients, and who know what they're doing. ** is none of the above.
Which is why I'm returning to my former dentist. He's a bit of a drive to get to, but he's a wonderful dentist and his office staff are top-notch. I'm pretty sure they would rather crawl into a hole than subject a patient to the treatment ** subjected me to. I'm sending this rather long letter in the hopes that perhaps some other patient can avoid experiencing what I went through, from improper (or lack of) instructions to confusing treatment plans to office staff talking me out of what I really want (flipper) because the work, as they expressed it, would be substandard. Huh. Well, thanks but no thanks for the substandard junk.

So I called the Holland, Mi branch to alert them I will be late and ask if it was ok for me to be 5 mins late (they said yes it was ok). When I arrived, already in "10" pain I was rejected and told to reschedule my appointment because I was late. I explained that I was in severe tooth pain and also stated I called to make sure it was ok for my tardiness. The receptionist and whoever the dentist appear to be mildly concerned with my issue and already booked someone for my slot (in 5 mins!! Literally!!). To top it off, there was some severely rude patient who felt she had to voice her piece by saying she took my slot!!! This was my first and last dealings with Aspen Dental and do not recommend anyone to go here expecting quality customer care or polite customer service. I wish I can rate them a negative 5 stars.

Well as starters, I began to call the number online and I spoke to a gentlemen at the Hixson location, which was okay. I were happy to have gotten a live person to answer. Well, it so happen I try to ask about the the discounts, financing, and etc.. I pay out of pocket expenses and were never told too much because the guy said, "he was the only one answering the calls and pretty much he was too busy for me." I talked to CS and there they were more concerned about my monies more than anything, and that was all about that from their end as a crystal clear scene.
So, I get to the office on Shallowford and were told that I had to pay the $80 because it was in a later part of day, and then that made me livid and refused!! So the lady went and asked the office manager if I could be fit in and so therefore, she was given permission and I ended up paying the special $19. Overall, be aware!!! I WILL NOT BE BACK!!! STILL IN PAIN. WANTED ME TO, THEN PAY ALL THIS EXTRA MONEY AND THAT DID NOT APPLY TO A ROOT CANAL!! POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! WILL NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, RETURN!!!

Waited an hour to see anyone. Dentist came in, looked at my teeth for 3 mins then sent me to see the finance people. She informed me that the dentist was recommending 2 gum treatments, 1 filling and "products" and my total would approximately be around $650.00 plus change. My jaw dropped. Then she informed me that I had to either pay the whole thing or apply for credit before they could proceed. I came in for a filling and a cleaning not gum treatments and products! I asked about the products and she pointed to a toothbrush and informed me of fluoride toothpaste and wash. I said I already have a toothbrush so she knocked off $126. I decided to apply for credit since I really needed the filling. I got the filling done then went to the dental hygienist for the treatment. My teeth were sore for the next 2 days from the flossing.
I decided not to make a 2nd appointment because of the lack of information from the finance person and the lack of patient advocacy. It turned out that my insurance doesn't cover the full amount for a white filling I received unknowingly. Apparently my insurance covers silver fillings but not white ones but no one explained that to me in their office. I was on the phone with the insurance company trying to make sense of my bill since I only got a piece of paper from finance. I urge anyone who is reading this to not go to Aspen Dental. They don't look out for their patients - they only look out for themselves and how much they can sell you. I'm still trying to get Aspen Dental to change the original bill since I didn't go to the 2nd appointment. It has been a month so I will be calling the BBB next.

I went for a follow-up check-up and cleaning to Aspen Dental on April 20, 2015. My appointment was @ 10 am. I had received an email that I needed to fill out paperwork so I went about 25 minutes early for my appointment. They didn't call me back until 10:30 am. I was advised at that time they were running a little behind. The hygienist was training a new girl and it was her first day.
They proceeded to begin my exam, stopped in the proceedings to visit another patient. Came back 10 to 15 minutes later and started once again with cleaning my teeth. Worked a few minutes, then left to work on yet another patient. I was asked this time if I wanted to sit up for a while? I answered, "No." I didn't realize I would be there so long for a simple cleaning. When the hygienist and the trainee came back to my room, the trainee rushed and did a half-way job of putting polish on my teeth and they both kept apologizing for the length of time it had taken. I never saw a dentist at all.
They had me to pre-pay $105.00 for all the inconvenience that I had experienced. If I had not have prepaid I would have questioned that amount for the lack of service that I received. I don't plan on going back. I will discourage others from going if asked. My time is valuable as anyone else's. I spent 2 1/2 hours and don't feel my teeth were cleaned to my satisfaction. I am very disappointed in the service received at Aspen Dental in Somerset Kentucky.

Went to Aspen Dental in Murfreesboro for a routine dental cleaning. I have been going to the dentist every six months for most of my life and have never had any significant dental or gum problems. I showed up on time for my appointment and was made to wait almost 20 minutes even though I had all my paperwork filled out ahead of time.
A young lady took me back for x-rays and that is where the trouble started. She put these very hard plastic things in my mouth that were very painful and when I told her they were poking me in the gums she just laughed and said "I know, sorry, people hate these things!" After that torture was over I was taken to an exam room where a hygienist proceeded to come in and do some sort of exam where she was poking around my gums and calling out numbers. When she was done she told me I had A LOT of bleeding and gave me a mirror to look at my teeth. I saw NO bleeding, only redness where she had been poking me with the metal instrument. She then proceeded to tell me that I needed a "deep cleaning".
The dentist came in and looked at my x-rays and told me there was no decay but that I would need to go through the gingivitis protocol. They then gave me a piece of paper that outlined a procedure they do to screen for mouth cancer. I signed the paper to indicate that I had read it but never expressed an interest in having this procedure done and even asked if signing the paper was saying I wanted the treatment. I was told no, that it just was for informational purposes and that by signing it I was indicating I had been told about it. The hygienist then told me that the deep cleaning would be done over two visits, the first visit would be the deep cleaning and the second visit would be a follow-up.
She then took me to the business office where they told me that after my insurance paid, I would owe them $384 for the deep cleaning and I had to pay it right then. I had just switched dental insurance so I thought maybe my coverage wasn't as good as it used to be so I paid them in advance for the cleaning. When I got home, I looked at the detailed receipt they gave me and the actual deep cleaning was only $64. The rest of the charges were $129 for a toothbrush, $27 for some paste that I have never used, $39 for a rinse that I used for a week and then they told me to stop using it or it would stain my teeth, $27 for fluoride toothpaste and $70 for the mouth cancer screening!!!!!
When I went in for the first appointment I told the hygienist that I did not want the mouth cancer screening and that I did not appreciate being charged for it. She said "okay, we can take it off and you will just have a $70 credit". I told her I did not want a credit, that I wanted to be refunded. She called the business office person in who got a real attitude with me because she had to give me a refund and proceeded to snap and me and walk out of the room. She returned with a receipt showing my refund and flung it towards my purse and left again.
I returned for the follow-up appointment and was told that the hygienist would be on maternity leave when I needed to come back in six months so my next appointment won't be for eight months. Oh so they can charge me for another "deep cleaning" since I hadn't been in for so long? No thank you, I do not plan to EVER return to that place. Also, for the record, my husband went in as well and they gave him the same song and dance about the deep cleaning and gingivitis.
He said no thank you to the whole thing and went back to our old dentist who told him that there was absolutely no infection in his mouth and that a deep cleaning was totally unnecessary. I feel like I was ripped off and fed a line of bull. Now I am finding out from a couple of people who used to work for Aspen Dental that they are all about the bottom line, getting as much money out of people as possible and doing a lot of unnecessary work. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Lebanon Tn office. Should have read reviews before stepping in the door. An upset patient at the counter asking for his records and the most disgusting restroom I have ever seen, also should have been red flags. Went in because I chipped a tooth over the weekend and wasn't too happy with previous dentist. They did 18 X-rays first. Hygienist then jammed instrument deep into my gums and claimed I had a lot of bone loss. News to me. She did not want to discuss the reason I was there. Instead she pushed for all kinds of other treatment and screening and even admonished me for not getting my cat's teeth cleaned every 6 months. WHAT?!!!
Finally saw dentist. Only After I told her I was only there for the chipped tooth she examined it. She could not tell if it was cracked so wanted to schedule me with the endodontist. Then office mgr takes me into office and tells me it will cost $2300 and I had to pay half before she could schedule the appt. How can they quote a price when the dentist did not know if the tooth was cracked or what treatment would be needed???? Needless to say I asked for my X-rays and am getting a second opinion. There is definitely a problem here. Have read many reviews stating the same experience at different locations so this is obviously a company wide issue. Apparently their business plans focus on getting as much $$$ out of you as possible, not on treatment. Based on the multitude of complaints how does the BBB give them an A- rating? If anyone else had problem in Lebanon TN office I think we should get together and get news media involved. This place should not be doing business.

I started my horrible journey with Aspen Dental on March 6, 2015. With **. Went in and had consultation Nd X-rays and all the things that supposedly go along with the new patient fee of $19. I was told over the phone when making the appointment that as along as I had insurance, there would be no charge for the appointment. I walked out that day paying nothing and then two later had a bill saying I owe the 18.60 for my consultation.
On March 6, 2015 I decided to go ahead and schedule my work for a complete denture set which me at getting 15 teeth removed and an immediate denture inserted afterwards. Now, they want their money up front which I paid 60% of the bill which was 1780.00 and paid the balance 1190.00 the day of the surgery. Here is where the bulk of the problems started.
After the extractions I went in the next day for post op evaluation. ** looked at my extractions site to check to make sure they were healing correcting and she said everything was looking good. I informed her that my immediate dentures would not even stay in my mouth and she decided to do a soft reline on my dentures. Now mind you I had just had 15 teeth pulled and still had stitches in my mouth. I was later informed by another dentist that should not have been done that soon. So after that visit, ** was actually leaving the Johnson City office going to the Nashville office.
This is where I switched over to ** and the first time I saw ** I was in horrible pain I had to go in for an emergency visit (Also, when I called the receptionist informed me I shouldn't be in pain anymore and asked why I was still hurting. This was 5 days post op) because I had developed horrible blisters and was arrogated because I had yet to be able to wear immediate dentures that I paid over $600 for. ** had not addressed any issues dealing with my dentures at this point. She wrote me a prescription for an oral rinse and even after I was sitting there in so much pain and crying it was like an act of congress to get something for the pain so I could sleep. Horrible customer service by both Drs thus far. So I left that day not very confident in the people I had spent so much money on.
I had another app April 3rd 2015 with ** this time they had put down for suture removal and little did they know the suture had fallen out on their own over the past week something else that did not inspire my confidence. I got there and they told me they only had me down for suture removal and if I had concerns about my dentures it would be awhile before I could see **. I said I'll wait after all this is a 45 minute drive there and back home.
So the doctor comes in and assesses the situation and this is when it's brought to my attention that I had too much bone for the denture to fit properly. She informed me I would have to have an Alveoplasty to remove some of the bone. Now, remind you this is the 3rd time a doctor has seen my mouth and dentures before this is brought to my attention. I heard ** whisper to her assailant that it should've have been down when my teeth were extracted and that if doctors don't look for that it could cause issues.
Now is where my frustration has hit its peak. They informed me I would have to pay $1000.00 dollars to have this extra procedure done. When I spoke with the office manager she said this situation has never happened before and I asked her what she planned on doing about it because I was told and quoted one price and now here is an unexpected cost that was never mentioned the other 3 times I had visited this office. So I left that day not paying anything. As I asked the office manager to speak with the doctor about the price and see if they could get a better price considering this was an unforeseen cost. The cost was cut down to 500 the office manager said that's the best she could do.
That brings me to today April 9, 2015. I went in this time for a was bite because they were gonna make me a new set of immediate dentures free of charge and also schedule the Alveoplasty. So, this had to be the worse appointment of all of them. I got there and signed in and waited for like 10 minutes or so and was called back. I got in the chair and the ** came in about 5 or so minutes later. She came in and awe exchanged pleasantries all phony on my part. She looked in my mouth and said she had a impression or mold made from the clay impressions they took the last visit and she needed to get a wax bite from it so she can see where she'll have to remove excess bone during the Alveoplasty.
So the whole time she was doing this she was obviously frustrated and not only that sharing my medical needs with everyone in hear shot including other patients and another doctor that knew nothing of my case. So we were going back and forth trying to get these molds in my mouth so she could get bite impressions. She keep raising her voice to me to bite down harder and harder I told her that's as far as my mouth would go and she got frustrated and sighed every time she had to start over. Every time she went back to make the wax again she made condescending remarks such as "OMG she has one room on her mouth she has too much bone" and "I can't get the mold in right because her mouth is so small.”
Also every time the mold and wax hit my gag reflex she got annoyed and told me that she would have to keep remaking the wax if I don't hold still. Now mind you I'm literally about to vomit but instead of being patient and kind she was rude and annoyed that led the other doctor to come over and inform me that gagging was a psychological thing it was all in my head. I thought seriously did you just say that? So once all that nightmare was over and the mold was finished even after she constantly said “Oh ** my lab guy is not going to like this. He is not gonna like this.” I felt so small and hurt that I chose to work with these types of people who have forgotten that customer service should be first priority.
After I was out of the chair I was lead back to the "money department" where I was informed that the Alveoplasty would cost $660. This was not the agreed upon price and I informed the receptionist that I would not pay that amount and she told me she would have the office manager ** give me a call since she was not there today. As I was sitting there ** came out to say that she would do the best she could to make my dentures "presentable." Wow, this is not something you want to hear from a dentist.
She also said I had a challenging mouth and I told her "I hope you’re up for the challenge." She said it's not that it's a challenge she said I had no room in my mouth and that's when I signed my forms and got up and walked out without looking back at anyone. I'm waiting until I get my permanent denture before asking for a full refund per the contract that's when I can ask. I wish there was something that could be done now. I cringe knowing I have to go back there and possibly get my mouth messed up even further. Please someone send help!

Aspen dental in Poughkeepsie, NY removed my teeth did 1/4 of the work they agreed to do. Gave me appointments 2 plus months apart. When I inquired about work that "they" said needed attention, they gave me nothing but double talk. After my last visit, which once again was suppose to be for a large cavity filling (it had been 1 year!) I was told a tooth was being removed! When I got upset after hearing about a tooth removal the dentist sent me a registered letter that I was no longer their patient and to seek care elsewhere. When I spoke to the "office manager", she proceeded once again to try to double talk me and tell me temporary dentures was what I paid for and that my fillings were not done in a whole year because I cancelled one appointment!! There is a lot more, too much to post right now.
So, as it stands right now- Upper dentures that don't fit right. Lower partial I haven't been able to wear for a year. 3 cavities (one they told me was pretty big a year ago!) A 3 YEAR WARRANTY that seems to be null and void. Money taken from my insurance company for work that was and will not be done and thousands on a dental charge which has been paid the whole year! EVERY LAST PERSON IN THIS OFFICE NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED!! They seem to think just because you need to go there for economic reasons that you are an idiot. REPORT these people EVERYWHERE you can. After the 4th time, I said that's enough. The head dr came in and took over. Because she didn't hit the right spot he had to give me another 3 shots, total of 7 shot! I told them, no more shots that my heart was racing and I did not feel comfortable anymore. I switched locations and started going to the Wellington location. I just went there yesterday and I'm very dissatisfied. I told them the problem I am having is in the area of where they give me a filling, when I floss it smells like crap. The dr came in and looked at it and said I need a deep cleaning. They must think people are dumb and don't research things. I have done a lot of extensive research because I have been getting bad response with people covering their nose from the horrible smell.
First off, I was upset after seeing that the tooth that got filled, to fill it, they drilled a chunk out of a good tooth next to the bad one to fill bad one and filled both. Recommended a deep cleaning without even measuring the gum lines. Sat down with the manager and she said it’s 267$ per quad. Came to a little over a 1000$. I said that was crazy for a cleaning and they lowered the price to 200$ per quad. I said, let’s do the top left quad in the area I floss smelled bad. I give them 100$ and said I will pay the rest on friday. I still get the same bad smell in the same area and bad taste in my mouth. I will not be paying the remaining amount and I will never go back there again. They didn't even know what a halimeter was. They just want your money and don't care about anything else.

The most unprofessional office I have ever had to deal with. Took an hour or more just to do the initial x-rays, the person taking the x-rays didn't even know how to operate the equipment, I know this because she told me this herself. By the way, the x-ray rooms are not private, when they take your pics there you are left with your mouth gaping, where everyone can see. After that fiasco I was put in a chair, across the same room I was in, someone else was having their tooth extracted in plain view. The hygienist came in to do a "periodontal chart"… as she was attempting to go through the motions of doing so, the same "tech" that flubbed the x-rays didn't know how to input the numbers in the computer. Which led to having to poke and prod my sore gums over and over again.
Then, the Dentist came in. He threw my x-rays in my face, quickly and without even being nice about it gave me some vague options that did not really have an end result. When I tried to ask questions I was cut off by him and he just repeatedly kept saying, “don't let the pain choose your treatment”. It was obscure...Like one of those phone recordings.. but this guy was real. In the end it was recommended that the first step of my treatment was to have the 4 impacted wisdom teeth extracted. Now all of this up until then took 3 hours... yes 3 hours. BUT within 15 minutes they had a 3,000 dollar credit line opened in my name and scheduled me for a "Dental Surgeon", whose office was an hour and a half away. This was scheduled for April 1st at 1pm.
On April 1st at 8 am the office of the surgeon called to cancel the surgery and wanted me to drive the hour and a half still... for another consultation. I called the manager from the branch I went to, and asked to have my line of credit closed and that I would be taking my business elsewhere. She asked me to give her some time to see if a surgeon closer could see me today. I waited a half hour, the clerk called me back to say she found a surgeon that is not affiliated with Aspen to see me. I did not ask them to call any 3rd party offices for me, I can do that myself.
At this point I had to be more stern about severing my ties here and stopping the line of credit with Aspen so I could go elsewhere. I was then told that, and please TAKE NOTE OF THIS, apparently they can open the line of credit but they cannot close it. In other words, I haven't even heard from these people yet, and was told all Aspen could do was give me a refund, that I would need to call the credit line and deal with that myself. If you have a choice DO NOT GO TO ASPEN....

The worst. Aspen Dental advertises free X-rays for new patients, lies. My insurance and I were billed for my X-rays. I ignored it and proceeded with them as my dentist (bad idea). I then went over a procedure plan for a deep scaling and under the gym cleaning. $2300. $835 out of pocket for me. They sent me a 25% coupon. When I went in to make the appointment I had to put 60% down which I already knew. They failed to tell me that 25% discount only came off of certain areas of the bill. WHAT?! I ended up paying a lot more out of pocket than I expected. Then they made an error with my bill and I had to go back AGAIN and fix it. Get it together.
I finally go back for my appointment. She worked so fast and so vigorously, parts of my mouth weren't even numb, it was ridiculously painful. There's no way I paid that much money for 20 min of work & there's no way that she did what she was supposed to that fast. She was apparently in a hurry the entire time so much so that she didn't even type out directions on how to use the products I was given for treatment at home. 4 boxes and I have no idea how to use any of it. ASPEN IS A JOKE. Please, never ever make an appointment with them.

I called Aspen Dental for a Cleaning and annual checkup. I had gone to Aspen for a loose crown and they helped me with regluing. I thought they were a pretty neat company. So, I showed up 15 minutes early for my appointment and I clearly stated for a cleaning. 25 minutes later I was taken to the XRay room and had a full set of xrays done. I was then escorted to a patient room, and was told that I was going to have a review of my gums, which the Dr needs in order to assess the treatment they were to recommend.
Twenty minutes later, the Xray lady, came and told me that the Dr was running 20 minutes late, and she would be in as soon as possible. So I said, "can I get my teeth cleaned while we wait for the Dr." XRay lady said, "you're not scheduled to have your teeth cleaned today. We can see if they have openings later in the day and you can have that done," but this appointment is for the Dr to assess your needs and get your approval." I say... "When I called for this appointment I said Cleaning, and was told I would have to have Xrays. I agreed to the Xrays and the Cleaning, and how you are saying there is no cleaning?" I say... "My insurance will not cover two visits. So, you are saying I cannot get a cleaning unless I scheduled it after the Dr views my Xrays, and I have to pay full price for it?" She said "your insurance should cover the cleaning, but not the Dr appointment."
I felt like I was taken, I called specifically for the cleaning, set up the appointment clearly for a cleaning. No one said, 'you cannot get a cleaning on your first visit.' I am so angry at this. I was also in the office for 1 hour and 20 minutes before the XRay lady told me I was not getting a cleaning. I wanted to speak with the Dr, but she was running late. I told them I would wait the 20 minutes more, but had to leave to make an appointment 40 minutes away. When no one showed up in the twenty minutes, I got up and left. As I was going out the door the receptionist says "Have a nice day." This place is disorganized and it is fraudulently getting customers in the door, and charging them for things that are not what a customer asked for.
