I received a package that was damaged during shipping. It was a large/heavy box with one delivery person. The flight case and it's contents were damaged. There are 3 large, very visible cracks in the case. Also, the contents (a professional mixing console) has a severe hum in one of the 16 channels. It could have other extenive damage to other electronics! I called Fedex 2 days later after inspecting the console to report the damage. They picked it up 3 days later. They brought it back 2 days later and this time 2 guy's delivered it. The delivery persons had no further info as to what I was to do next.
I called Fedex immediately. I was told that a claim was going to be filed online on my behalf right then, and that I would be contacted within 48hrs. I was not contacted. I called them back 5 days later. I talked to 4 different people and was told the info was (conveniently) just coming in and they would contact me in 2-3 days. I was not contacted. I called them 9 days later. I was told for the first time that I had to print out a claim form and fax it to them and they would get back to me 48hrs after. I did so the next day! 12 days later I got letter saying they could not honor my claim request because no physical damage could be seen.
I called Fedex immediately. I talked to 4 different people and was told for the first time that the sender had to contact them in writing that he permitted me to settle the claim. The sender had contacted them before it was picked up 5 weeks prior. He was told at that time that there was no need for him to contact them and that it was being taken care of. That all started 5 weeks ago and I still have a broken sound board and flight case.

FedEx Holiday Delivery Fraud: I had placed an order, the order was shipped via FedEx Ground at 12/3/07 at 12:25:00 pm (PST), delivery date was Dec. 7. Fedex claimed Delivery Exception due to No Attempt Made, and delivery was rescheduled for next business day. On Dec. 8, 2007 Fedex claimed customer not available or business closed; however I was here expecting the delivery. There was no knock or slip at my door to show there actually was an attempt. Dec 11, 2007 again Fedex claimed customer not available or business closed; however I was here expecting the delivery again. There was no knock or slip at my door this time, either, to show there actually was an attempt.
I have made calls to Fedex each time to inquire about it. Each call was uneventful as they claim the driver was here. I spoke with supervisor Cory Harrell on Dec. 11, 2007 regarding this matter. I asked for the package to be handed over to another carrier; he said no, I would receive it on the 12th, but I have heard the same promise before after 5 calls to Fedex. I then called the vendor to ask for their help, and the representative called Fedex as well. I feel that I will not get the package possible do to theft or fraud. I fear the delivery driver may claim to have delivered the package (as he claims to have been here before but left no notice), and I will have no proof. Can anyone help? I FedEx'd household goods including glassware to London, but it reached the destination in bits and pieces and also some of the items were missing. A claim was filed at Fedex London, but the answer we got was that the packing was insufficient for fragile goods and the claim denied by FedEx Delhi. Then I called the customer care who wouldn't reveal any information. Then I contacted the coordinator of FedEx Delhi for settlement of claim. They told me that FedEx doesn't accept the shipment if the packing is not according to international standards. So my reply to Amrist Seair was that it is between them and FedEx ,and as they packed the items and their company may settle it. Then these people just refused to talk to me and have been very rude.
After this I contacted Mr. Errol Mascerenhas at Fedex Mumbai via email asking him for the settlement of my claim. He wrote back saying that he has asked the Sales Territory Manager who deals with Amrit Seair to initiate the claim process. It has been over 10 days, and there is no reply from their side. The claim was filed in the month of June 2007. Since June we have been contacting them through telephone calls and emails. I've lost goods worth 350 pounds and also is causing mental torture and harassment.

My brother died in August in an unexpected infection following surgery. My elderly mother and our family have waited for 3 months for my brother's personal effects to be shipped to my mother. These included irreplaceable paintings and ceramic masks that my brother had created. Three packages were sent FedEx, but the address was wrong (424 instead of 444) but my phone number was correct on the label. As it turns out, the address 424 is a parking lot; and my husband and I searched up and down the street extensively, even going into a vacant house which the driver at one point said may have been where he left them--looking for the packages which the FedEx driver initially said had been left at "424" but changed to "428".
After we brought this to the attention of managers and eventually FedEx corporate managers, the driver's story changed. But at no time did he call my cell phone when he did not find "424", and he did not follow company policy of returning the boxes to the terminal. The claim can be $100 per box, which is inadequate as the personal effects of my late brother are more valuable than this amount--and invaluable at any price to his family.
FedEx keeps saying they are "sorry", but those packages have to be somewhere, and we are beginning to wonder if the driver stole them. Within hours of the supposed drop-off at "424" and then "428"--neither viable locations, we nor neighbors had seen the packages, and it is a busy area so porch theft is unlikely. My family cannot replace these items which mean so much to us.

I ordered an item that should have arrived Nov. 21 but due to FedEx, I still do not have. FedEx claims the driver could not locate my street Nov. 21 and thus refused to deliver my item. I had called that evening and suggested they take down directions to my house, yet they refused and asked for only my phone number. Nov. 23, I stayed home all day to make sure I would get my item (in lieu of many day-after Thanksgiving activities planned). After noon, I called FedEx and they claimed the item was on its way. Four p.m. rolled around and still no item. I kept calling FedEx who finally reported to me at 6:05 p.m. that my item was not delivered because the driver could not 9again) locate my street. They suggested I call again Monday morning and, again, leave my phone number.
I stuck around Nov. 26 after verifying with customer service the item would be delivered by the end of the day. Internet tracking also stated I would receive the item. An e-mail confirmed this, too. However, someone from FedEx called in the afternoon to tell me the item was not on the truck. Internet tracking states they could not locate me. It now appears FedEx has lost my parcel. I would highly discourage anyone from using FedEx. The company clearly does not know how to operate a business and does not care about the $150 I am now out.

I sent a FedEx package to my employer that contained all my receipts from two international trips. The package was mailed on Nov. 7. On Nov. 12, I received an email from the accountant at my job saying that the receipts had not arrived. I called Fedex and was told that a load of almost 70 Fedex envelopes could not be located and that they were looking for it. Fedex had never informed me that the package was lost. I called them several times, and each time was told that they were still looking. I had made copies of most, but not all, of the receipts and re-sent them to my job. I didn't copy all the receipts because some of them were on small and hard to copy pieces of paper. I am now being held responsible for the missing receipts. I had not heard from Fedex for at least 2 weeks and called again today. I was told that I could now file a claim. However, they had never made any effort to contact me to let me know.
I should have been paid on Nov. 14 and am still waiting for payment. The worst part is that I will not be reimbursed for the receipts that I had not copied. This comes to almost $1000.

I placed an online order; package was shipped Fedex with tracking. Tracking info showed package was left at front door yesterday (11/23/07); family was home all day. There is no package anywhere to be found! This same scenario happened twice before lately. We are trying to purchase from people that will not ship FedEx. It is my responsibility to inform others about FedEx and their "no service"! Thanks.
Must contact store that shipped item, file lost item report, get another shipment or refund and order from someone that will not use FedEx. I find it amazing that no one can hold FedEx accountable for losing or stealing shipments!

I had the most horrible experience in all my life with FED EX. Fed Ex was supposed to deliver a package which contained payroll checks for our employees. The original arrival date of the checks was suppose to be Wednesday, November 21. However, due to mechanical problems in Memphis FED EX could not deliver. When we spoke to Frances Fields of the FED EX office in Memphis, she guaranteed arrival on Friday November 23 at 8:30 a.m. Our company told the employees to come in on Friday and I made arrangements to open the office for them to pick-up checks. On Friday the checks were not here. When I called the Memphis office they told me they were in Houston; however, they could not guarantee a time they could deliver. I asked where the checks were and they told me they were in Houston, however, could not guarantee the time they would arrive at my office. I had over 100 employees waiting on their checks, which were told the checks would be here, because FED EX guaranteed the arrival time.
Not only did I have to go and pick-up the checks, but I got wrong directions of where the FED EX office was in Houston, got lost, ran out of gas, and I knew I had people waiting for me back in the office. The people I dealt with at FED EX are the most unfriendly, uncooperative, non-customer service people in the Memphis and Houston offices. When I finally got to the FED EX office (16465 W Hardy Rd Station), they could not release the checks to me, because I was not the person on the package. I had to wait another 30 minutes.
I believe not only should I get our delivery fee back, but we should be compensated for the hours we spent in the office waiting for the FED EX package. 3.50 Hours(waiting time)X $9.50 Hour (average rate) X 100 employees.

I shipped 2 packages that were all professionally packaged by a certified FEDEX shipper. They were decorative mirrors each valued at $400. The packages were returned to me before the receiver even got them because Fedex destroyed the merchandise. The boxes were brand new and specifically designed for the products but looked like they were dragged down the road behind the truck with numerous holes in them. Fedex only paid a claim of $100 because they say that is the maximum amount to cover the product.
Why, then, does Fedex request a declared value and require the customer to pay that bracket for the insurance?

I ordered a movie from NBC Universal, and they only use FedEx. The shipper states they left it on my porch. I have a locked gate to access my porch, and they couldn't access the gate, where they say they left it. FedEx is completely ignoring me. I have been calling and emailing them for over 2 weeks, and I am getting the run around. I just find it alarming they can just leave packages anywhere and then say they were delivered.
I have contacted NBC Universal about this issue and they are not that concerned either. They have the FedEx shipping tag which says the package was delivered, but where is it?

My large Fedex envelope was dropped off 10/10/07 @ 01:31. The tracking # is 862527186340. I paid $17.44 for two-day service going to Wyoming Board of Nursing in Cheyenne, WY. On 10/24/07 I called the Board of Nsg to see what the status of my nursing license was and was told they never received it. I then called Fedex 800-463-3339 and was told that their records show that the pkg never left the Kinko's store. I drove to the Kinko's and asked to speak to the manager. No manager was available, so I spoke to the employee in charge. He stated that the pkg was scanned by the driver and left the store. At that time they pulled out some tables to see if the pkg might have fallen underneath one. I left the store and spoke to a Fedex supervisor in Memphis that stated that the pkg had to be in the store. I called today 10/25/07 and talked to several customer service people with Fedex and they were still laying the blame on Kinko's. I called Kinko's and asked to speak to Bruce Petersen, General Mgr. He said that the pkg was not at his store it was scanned and taken by the Fedex driver. No one wants to take responsibility for the missing pkg so no one is actively looking for it. This has caused me an unbelievable amount of stress since the pkg was my livelihood. I was waiting on my nursing license to arrive from WY any day now and the process has to start all over again. This is a very time consuming to do. Today I requested Wy to send me another pkg in the mail. At this time I estimate I will lose at least a month's salary and overtime in WY, and the BIGGEST factor is in the pkg was my entire work hx, date of birth, finger prints, social sec #, credit card info, my whole life. If this pkg gets in the wrong hands I could have identity and credit card fraud. I need some assistance in dealing with this company.

I was expecting a package from Fed Ex and tracked it online everyday to see its progress. It was suppose to have arrived on October 16 but did not come. No big deal.
I called Fed Ex that evening and was told there was an address problem. I checked my end of things; and yes, I did make a mistake. I called them back and gave them the correct zip code. I was told I would receive my package the next day. It did not arrive.
I called them again to see what was going on and was told there was an address problem. I said I knew and that I had corrected it. They took the zip code again and said I would receive it the next day. We are now up to October 18. I waited for it and it did not come.
I called again during the day this time and was told there was an address problem. I asked where my package was and if I could come to them and pick it up. I was told that it was on a truck, but that I could come and pick it up at their facility as they were open until 8 in the evening.
I drove clear across the Baltimore metropolitan area in the middle of rush hour and said I was here for my package. I gave them my tracking number and after about a 1/2 hour was told that it was on another truck and they could not find it. I was told that the driver scanned it back in to the facility because there was an address error.
After I got home, I called Fed Ex and was told that no one put a pick up for the package and that I would receive it tomorrow. Any one want to place a bet.
Tomorrow will be October 19 and if I have still have not received my package, I am going to call Fed Ex and tell them that they can reimbeurse me the money for the package that I have not received and that they can keep the package if they can ever find it.
Nobody was rude to me the whole time, but with this experience, I will never use Fed Ex again. If I purchase something online, I will make sure that the sender does not us Fed Ex or I will take my business elsewhere.
So far, I am out a 1/4 tank of gas, the cell phone bill has not come in yet; and if I do not receive it tomorrow, they owe me for the cost of my package which was $215.

At the same time a Kinkos employee named Christopher came from the back room and stated loudly we're closed. I finished printing 2 copies from the computer, and made my four copies at which time Christopher walked towards my children and I and Yelled MISS WE'RE CLOSED....he stated that it's now 8:00 and you have to leave you can't finish what you're doing you need to leave now... I told him that I am finished now and all I needed was to make the copies besides Ive been here for awhile, it's not like I just walked in. FedEx Kinkos has damaged my computer and monitor by not preparing it properly for shipping. The situation has not been resolved in a timely, satisfactory manner. Below is pertinent information.
Federal Express,
Be advised that this is a complaint regarding the handling of items which were brought to FedEx Kinkos on January 19, 2007.
The items were to be prepared for shipping by Kinkos personnel, then shipped via FedEx to a location in Colorado Springs.
The items, to be shipped, were a:
- custom-built computer with 512 KB memory and a 40GB hard drive; the hard drive was loaded with irreplaceable photos and files. Estimated value and declared value of the computer is $1,000. The value of the files on the hard drive is incalculable!
o you may see http://www.flickr.com/photos/wildography and http://www.wildography.com for examples of the photography files on the hard drive.
- 15? computer monitor
The computer and the monitor were irreparably damaged during shipping. The method of preparation for shipping was substandard and allowed for considerable movement, with the two boxes, of the computer and the monitor.
Be advised that more than 40 high-quality, high-definition JPEG images were taken of the boxes, the packaging materials, the monitor, and the computer as well as other items of evidence. My NIKON D-70 digital camera was used to record the images.
The computer and monitor were picked up by FedEx Ground after numerous phone discussions and emails exchanged with FedEx representatives. Per agreement with the claims department, the computer WITH THE HARD DRIVE were to be returned to me after an evaluation was made regarding responsibility of damage by FedEx. After the files were retrieved by a computer technician, the computer was to be returned to FedEx so that the claim could be processed.
The computer and monitor were picked up by FedEx Ground to be evaluated for damage. After one week passed without any attempt to contact me, I tracked the packages via the internet.
I was shocked to discover that the items were shipped back to San Leadro, California to the FedEx Kinkos that originally packed and shipped the items. Further shipping, from Colorado in the original boxes & packing materials - would only further damage the items!
I am very disturbed by the damage to my computer and monitor. I am also very disturbed by the amount of time that has passed in resolving this problem. My work as a budding photographer and writer is being severely hampered by the damage that FedEx Kinkos personnel have caused.

It arrived severely damaged... delivered by one older man who dragged it (by himself) some distance before knocking on my door and asking for help. I contacted the shipper and a claim was filed. A gentleman came out and took many photos, filed a report and after weeks of no contact I called to check up on the claim and was told it was an antique and they sent a $100 check to the shipper and closed the case.
I told the investigator (during his visit) that the item was NOT an antique. I told him that it was less than 30 years old and that it was purchased for daily use, not as a piece of value or a trophy piece. A customer service advocate at FedEx told me if I wanted the case re-opened I should ask the shipper to send a fax indicating the report was incorrect, that it's not an antique and that he's giving permission for me to communicate about the piece. After another few weeks of no contact, I called FedEx for an update. They received the fax but have said they cannot communicate with me. They've said they misinformed me before--that the shipper cannot give me permission. I asked for a description of what an antique is (as per the policy) and clearly, my piece is NOT an antique. FedEx has lied to me more than once during this transaction. I've spent hours on the phone and have received contradictory (and ever-changing) data.

That leaves me with $40.52 to replace a Sony Trinitron 32 inch TV.
I have talked to three different representatives. They take down the information, tell me they will get back to me and then never call back. The TV set was not new, but what can I buy for$40? In the letter, sent with the check, it said 'We have requested a credit or refund of the transportation charges'. I haven't seen that either.
Besides cutting his finger, we had to load this package on to a pickup truck to take it to the dump. We are both disabled and this was difficult. We don't want anything more than our packing and shipping charges of $81.52 returned. Is that too much to ask for?

We live in a country club development. When we are out of town, FedEx delivers to the country club office. However, the truck driver has been dropping packages off at the office when we are at home, telling them that we are not there. Today, I had to hunt down two packages that had been dropped off at the Pro shop, not the office. We were home all week. I am really tired of chasing down packages. I have contacted FedEx three time regarding this matter but have yet to receive a response.

I was supposed to receive a FedEx package. The truck driver stated that he tried to deliver the package three times. Each time I asked that someone call me when the delivery was being made. Unfortunately, no one did. I spoke with several customer service representatives and supervisors and no one can help me get my package.
I still have no package after six days and they will not re-attempt delivery. I am unable to fit the package into my vehicle if I pick it up at the FedEx office; moreover, I have no idea where said office is.

I ordered a plane ticket from Orbitz and had it shipped via FedEx; a signature was required. On the day of delivery I heard the doorbell ring and went to open the door, but nobody was there. My package had been left outside the door. I went online and typed the tracking number on the FedEx website. My package information came up and reported that my signature was "on file." However, when I clicked the "signature proof" button no signature came up. I called the FedEx customer Service and, upon my inquiry about the missing signature, was told that for the holiday season FedEx waives the requirement of the signature, without telling anybody.
I am really upset, because I paid $21.95 for a service that was supposed to be performed in a certain way and wasn't. Speaking with a woman at FedEx customer service, I also found out that if a home is sold and its previous owners waive the signature requirement, FedEx does not require signatures from the new owners. In fact, they don't base the waiver on a name, but rather on the address. This means it is an individual's responsibility to call all the carriers to notify them that there has been a change of tenant in a house. I certainly will try to avoid using the services of FedEx in the future.

My husband ordered something and had it sent express via FedEx to our home in Washington. FedEx tried to deliver the package to our house one time while I was at work. I contacted my husband, who then contacted FedEx to let them know when they could deliver it to me. They said it would be sent to our home at the specified time. The next day, several hours past the promised delivery hour, my husband called them yet again. They said it was delivered to his work address, but he never gave them his work address; FedEx had way of explaining how they had gotten the information.
Because the package was delivered to his office, someone else was allowed to sign for his expensive package.
Unfortunately, FedEx allows anyone to sign for another person's package without authorization. We will now have to try to contact the person who signed for the package and hope it arrives intact and unopened.

FedEx Ground was supposed to deliver an iPod computer to my home on September 3. They tried to deliver it at 11:15 AM but nobody was home. I called that afternoon to ask if I could stop and pick it up on the way home. They claimed that was not possible because it would still be on the truck at that time. They said it would be delivered on September 4, so I waited at home for the entire day. I called at noon and was told they had called the distribution center and I could expect the computer by 4:00 PM. I called at 3:50 PM and they said it would get there by 7:00.
At 6:30 PM, I was finally told that the iPod was not on the truck after all. The company refused to do anything else to help me that day. When I tried calling back later, my calls were immediately put on hold. I suspect they had caller ID. The last person I talked to did tell me that my iPod would come on Tuesday; however, it did not because "of the holiday." They now claim it will come tomorrow.

I told her I needed to purchase INSURANCE since it was a $2400.00 ring, no problem she replies and gives me the same price as the rep did on the phone, weighs it, labels it and on my way I was, feeling confident I had been extremely careful.
Six days later I received a letter from shop nbc stating they received my package although it was empty, now keep in mind when I mailed it they weighed it, when it got to shop nbc the only thing in the bag was an invoice. HMMMM what could have possibly happened to the ring?
I called shop nbc and they told me to relax I had purchased insurance through fedex they would pay me. I called fedex they told me no problem all you need to do is file a claim. I filed the claim and a week later I received a check back for $100.00 I called fedex furious. It turns out fedex don't give INSURANCE just a declared value. What the heck is declared value? I still don't know.
I honestly believe it means I paid extra money for no apparent reason. Fedex also let me know they only give $100.00 max on jewelry, why wasn't any of this told to me when I sent the package. They also instructed me to look on the opposite side of the receipt for terms and conditions, but I could not since it was covered up with a giant white receipt label.

I received a postcard in the mail on 5-15-03 saying I needed to call this 800 number & give exact directions to my house. So on the 15th I called & gave exact directions & here it is the 21st & I still have not received my packages.
I have called the 800 number 4 different times & 3 out of 4 operators couldn't tell me a thing & didn't know where my packages were. One operator told my today the packages would be delivered today & I've yet to see them. I called them back this evening & they said they would check on my packages & give me a call back & let me know where they were. Just like the other time I was told this, I never received any type of phone call. Now I live in a very small town if the driver couldn't find the location of my house then he/she could have asked somebody where I lived & they could have told them.
The saddest part of it all is every day I see a Fedex delivery person here in my hometown & I still have not received my packages. I'm writing today because I'm embroiled in yet another hassle. My package was supposed to arrive yesterday. I didn't expect it to since Fedex's track record with me has been 80% failures.
Sure enough, the package didn't arrive. That didn't bother me so much. What DID bother me was that in tracking this package I go the message "customer not available." This is utter nonsense. I work at home and have been home all week. I was waiting for this package. I have two dogs that go ballistic anytime anyone steps foot on the driveway. They were quiet as church mice. It snowed yesterday. There were no footprints or tire tracks anywhere.
In short, the drive made NO ATTEMPT to deliver this package and lied about it. Which brings to another similar incident. A package came a week after it was supposed to. I contacted Fedex headquarters with the complaint. Their regional manager finally replied and told me that weather problems got in the way. In fact, the weather was perfect for that entire week. Once again, Fedex employees lying to cover up their errors.
I had a large package shipped by Fedex. The driver took the wrong road and couldn't make it to my house because he couldn't get under the overpass. I had to drive for 45 minutes to pick up a 300-pound package. Did anyone apologize? Compensate me for my time? Refund the cost of freight? NOPE. The other incident was a late delivery, but no interesting side notes. Just plain old boring late delivery.
To their "credit" they did deliver a package on time ONCE. So there you have it. Five packages, 4 of them problematic. Two of them involving lying.

In late 2001, the contract was given to one company, Fed Ex. No bidding process, the contract seems to be just handed to FedEx. Not only did the USPS have to pay the contractors for early termination, they had to pay FedEx 6.2 billion.
Now that Fed Ex has the money, ground handlers are complaining that priority mail is being left behind for FedEx packages. Why award the contract to a company who's priority is to deliver FedEx packages? It's a great deal for FedEx but a bad deal for the public. I've since been furloughed and my company is in chapter 11. Other postal contractors are in chapter 11. The government is having to pay unemployment benefits to employees of the contractors.
I've spent months trying to figure out why the gov't has not looked into this. According to Opensecrets.org, FedEX is well known around Capitol Hill for the fleet of private planes it keeps on stand-by for congressmen. The article explains FedEx gave more that $2.6 million in PAC, soft money and individual donations in 1999-2000. It makes me very angry to see the USPS ask for postal increases. They made a bad deal for the public and someone needs to start looking into this. Obviously, Congress is not interested.

When my fiance called me and told me of the loss, I asked her to verify on/in the envelope if Customs or FedEx had opened it or stamped it with anything to indicate the it was open and items removed and she said that there were no indications of that at all. I then called FedEx and stated what happened and they said they would investigate but the spokeswoman that I spoke with stated that it was very unusual for the delivery person to request that my fiance open and inspect the contents. I further wrote a letter to FedEx stating the loss and requesting reimbursement. Although I knew that sending money was not wise, I never knew it was illegal and I certainly thought that anything removed should have been documented. As it stands, it was just plain theft!
I received a letter from FedEx today stating that they would not reimburse the loss of the money and made NO mention of the pictures or the card being gone. FedEx has a duty to safeguard my items regardless of their value and they are at this point, making no effort to locate my pictures or card. Nor are they concerned about how this happened and who was responsible for taking these items.
Damage Resulting: The loss of the pictures require that I re-send them which will result in a longer wait for us to be together. We have a long distance relationship that is very hard to keep going and this only makes things worse. Knowing that my package was opened and items stolen, I have no idea if they copied all my personal information to include my SSN, birth date, birth certificate and many other highly personal items that must remain secure. You cannot put a price on identity theft and this is a real possibility now.

I shipped a 38-lb. box to myself from Warwick, Rhode Island, where I was vacationing and attending a costume jewelry collectors convention. The package was taken to Federal Express Ground on October 22, 2001. I flew home to Edmonds, Washington, on October 23 and started checking the progress of the package via the internet as it made its way across the country.
On Tuesday, October 30, 2001, it was listed on the web site as being on a truck for delivery. I remained at home all day, not even running a vacuum cleaner or other loud appliance, so I would be sure to hear the doorbell. As the afternoon wore on I got anxious and checked the front porch every hour just in case I had somehow missed the delivery. At 10:30 p.m. I checked the status on the web site and found the package listed as delivered and the time said, 00:00.
I immediately sent an email to the customer service email address stating that I had not received the package. I received an automated reply that I would hear from someone within 24 hours. I never got any other reply whatsoever. Wednesday morning, 10/31, I phoned the 800-GOFEDEX number and worked my way through the maddeningly long voice mail system until I was able to speak to an actual person, who then transferred me to someone in the Ground area. Unfortunately I did not write down the name but I think it was Darryl or Darrin. He said it looked to him like the package was still on the truck and should be delivered that day, but that someone would check into it and get back to me within 24 hours.
Again I waited at home all day and no deliveries were made. Nor did I receive any follow-up phone calls. However, by mid afternoon the web site showed an update it said the package had been delivered at 5:00 p.m. on 10/30, and under signature it said Front Door. At 6:40 p.m. on 10/31, I again called 800-GOFEDEX, eventually ending up speaking to a woman named Linda who told me she would send a message to the driver and someone would get back to me.
On 11/1 at approximately 10:00 a.m. I phoned 800-GOFEDEX once again, this time speaking to Jim, who told me my request would take 24 to 48 hours and someone would get back to me. Never mind that itd been more hours than that since I originally contacted Federal Express. On Friday, 11/2, I again phoned 800-GOFEDEX, at 9:20 a.m., and spoke to Eric. He suggested he send me the paperwork to start a claim on the package. I voiced that I would much rather have the package, which was obviously somewhere in my neighborhood and if someone would just talk to the driver we could probably find it! I was put on hold while Eric phoned the local terminal, then he got my phone number and said someone would call me. I told him he was the 4th person to tell me that and Id never gotten any return calls from anyone.
Shortly after that Wendy from the local terminal did call me, but wasnt able to offer much assistance. She had Francisco, the driver, call me a short time later. By now 3 full days had passed since he delivered the package he couldnt remember anything about that day. I was given some conflicting messages though, I remember I had trouble finding that address. It might still be on the truck. If it says I delivered it, then I delivered it. and the one that speaks volumes, We are growing so fast, we cant possibly keep track of all these packages!
I am dismayed not only at having my merchandise left on the doorstep of someone who proved to be dishonest and didnt report it, but at how unresponsive Federal Express was to my requests. All it would have taken to make me have confidence in the company would have been a return phone call, even if all they could tell me was We havent discovered anything but we are working on it. Federal Express Ground failed miserably.
I also want to say that my street, 53rd Avenue West, is only 2 blocks long, and only serves my complex, which consists of 4 buildings. Each unit has its own number, there is no confusing A, B, C system. I have put up flyers for my neighbors, plus I walked the perimeter and checked everyones back porches in the unlikely event the box had been left there. It is obvious to me that the driver was not on the right street. If he wasnt sure of the address, why would he leave a package that was insured for $2,000 on a porch without obtaining a signature?
The box contained, among other things, most of my higher-end Christmas inventory for my cases at Glorious Treasures Antique Shoppe in Edmonds, WA. For obvious reasons I lost the opportunity to sell those items during the Christmas season, and without the insurance money I am unable to replace the items. I am very angry at FedEx Ground's lack of customer service and the fact that they just plain don't care.

Bought 3 products from UBid; WD Hard Drive, Sound Card, Yamaha CD-rewrite. They were sent (separately to charge higher shipping costs) and over 1 1/2 week AFTER I changed my address (on the 9th month the Local FedEx Ground had been notified of this change of address) on the 16th of the month, the 3 packages (worth close $500) were "dumped" at my old address where no one was at home.
When I checked from out of town (my dad was dying and I had to leave town for 2 weeks) via the FedEx Ground Tracking page, it was shown as "delivered and signed for at front door." Over 6 times I called FedEx Ground to MAKE SURE that it would be delivered to the new address ... they assured me that it would be. Later, my neighbor stated they had stood in front of my door for 3 days, and now were missing. Needless, to say the manager and neighbors have not seen it, and don't know what happened to it. At least 15 calls to both the Local and national phone numbers: "we don't have the records; you have to call the OTHER number" and saying the shipper had to do a trace.
Three weeks later I am still getting e-mail from Ubid like, "what products did you say you lost?" when I have sent the Order and Lot numbers over 10 times, and keep sending the entire e-mails to them. After all this, now they say, "well, the Trace said the Packages were delivered." And I'm going (trying not to blow a gasket since I've explained now close to 25 different people from FedEx and UBid) yes they were delivered to the wrong address and now are missing, presumed stolen."Ubid states until FedEx refunds the claim, they cannot re-credit my account.
Yet, FedEx is pretending that they are not responsible for the problem, and they "delivered" the packages without any signature or note that "we will return later" to bring your package back. I have received packages for over 40 years ... even cheap stuff they wait for a signature, or leave a note if you are not home, or leave it with a neighbor (I had authorized my next door neighbor to go ahead and sign for it if he was asked). But NONE of these things happened with FedEx Ground. They say it is up to each deliverer to do what they want, because they are "independent contractors".
As though Fed Ex is not responsible for the quality and security of the property entrusted to them! Finally, and to really put the icing on the cake, I was told by FedEx that it would do no good to report my "stolen" goods either to the local police, or to the postmaster. In case you do not know it (because I didn't!) your mail, mailed thru these agencies, IS NOT PROTECTED BY THE LAWS OF THE FEDERAL POSTAL SERVICE. He said the Postmaster could do nothing about lost or stolen packages as a federal crime. He also said that "no one" had ever reported to the local police about stolen goods delivered by FedEx Ground, and that all Claims would be handled by the Shipper (And, hopefully we have all seen how reliable THEY Are!)
I have quite literally been robbed of $500 worth of computer equipment that both FedEx and Ubid refuse to take responsibility for. Since I am in a Home based business, this has also cost me in the ability to use my computer, which has been sitting without its parts in the technicians office while we "wait for the parts."

After I ordered a pick up, it took FedEx Ground one WEEK to pick up my three packages! Then they LOST two of them! Strange because they were very distinctive-looking, odd-shaped, large, properly labeled and ALL THREE GOING TO THE SAME ADDRESS! At first they stated all three were delivered, but after many days and calls to the managers at the different hubs, customer service, etc., they finally admitted 2 of the packages were lost.
Heres the next FedEx problem, they do not have a way to make a receipt online like ups.com and others. I do have the original screen captures of the transactions, but that does not satisfy them! I am very meticulous with my record keeping.
To top all of this off ... I received an invoice for the three packages a month and a half after the packages shipped. The package that was delivered, was late ... but to get a refund its FedExs policy that they can not refund the shipping costs after 15 days! It took 6 weeks to get the invoice ... How many other ways can FedEx Ground STICK ME!!!
Today I spent from 1:30pm till 6pm again trying to get someone in FedEx to help ... once again being bounced around from on dept to the next, even their Public Relations Dept seemed to not sympathize with me.

Many of the FedEx packages delivered to our office are left unsigned for, on the floor in our lobby. I have complained about this to FedEx several times and been told that a local manager would call me. No one calls and the problem persists. One day I got a call from a company in another building on my street that a FedEx package addressed to my company was found in the street, open. I went to pick up my package from this good samaritan, and called Fed Ex.
According to FedEx the package was signed for by a person that does not exist at our company or in our building. The delivery address was correct. I reported this incident to FedEx, but never received any response. Today, a FedEx delivery containing the company payroll was left in the lobby. It was not there when the first of our companies employees arrived in the morning, so it is assumed that the FedEx delivery person never bothered to ring the bell.
Fortunately, there have been no major consequences at this point, but some of the materials, such as payroll, are highly sensitive, and could result in great loss and problems to our company if not delivered securely. There is a reason why companies pay more money for FedEx service, and that is for security and prompt delivery.
