Methodology

This analysis is based on data from 122,584 ConsumerAffairs users who expressed interest in moving between March 2024 and March 2025. To determine the net migration change for each state, we compared the number of people interested in moving there with the number considering leaving. The migration trends noted in our analysis reflect user interest, not actual moves.
