I had agreement with WCJ, Inc. of Woodand Hills, California that for $75 fee they would give me address or email or phone number for Michelle Ann **, born 04/28/1951 in New Rochelle, New York. Dino only gave me address and phone for Ricard **, who was her ex-husband from Garden City, Michigan. They divorced in 1975 and Richard said he talked with her in 1985 when she told him she was moving to San Diego with her mom and sister Marlene. Dino failed to give me any direct info on Michelle so he violated the agreement for $75 fee. Capital One has denied my dispute twice with no reasons given.

Do not get this card. After 3 years of every payment on time balances paid off would not give increase and did not specify to me that my credit would be run again after inquiring about them raising my limit. The inquiry I had no knowledge about. If I had known that when I asked for higher limit my credit report was going to pulled I would not have requested for higher limit. I got this card because it said it could help build my credit. So if you pay on time and pay off balances after 3 years no increase. All credit counselors suggest asking for increases of spending limit. This card will not help you. I wish I could go back in time and have applied for a different card that would have given me limit increases over time. My card was blocked at a very crucial time when I needed gas. I was cut off from using it.
Leaving me stranded far from home with no way to purchase gas. Then later I get text asking if I was trying to use my card for gas. I said yes and they said, "Ok you can access your card for use." Not good at all!!!! Timing terrible. I was dependent on that card to pay for my trip. I was embarrassed, humiliated and disgusted when it was declined for no reason. I had already been using that card in that area. So its system is flawed. I bet if I had purchased a different card I would not be left in dire position and would have received proper credit limit increases over time. Terrible card!!!!

I have banked with Capital One for several years. Decided to add a business bank account earlier this year since there were one of only branches open during Covid-19. I am gravely disturbed with their policies for new business customers. I am an easily verifiable business for over seven years. Branches are now being completely run by their tellers - answering the phones, acting as personal bankers, a different story every time you call customer service regarding an issue that needed to be resolved with my account. It has been 90 DAYS and the issue with my account has still not been corrected after dozens of calls WITH NO RETURN PHONE CALLS and even overnighting two letters to the CEO Rich Fairbank in an attempt to personal attention. Branches are dropping out of site now. GET YOUR MONEY OUT OF THIS BANK BEFORE THIS DISAPPEAR WITH IT!

I don't use the GM Card very much so forgot I had a transaction on it. I never got a bill in my email or a paper bill sent to me. I also did not get anything that said I had a past due statement. I look up my accounts and my credit report on occasion just to check on them as a fraud prevention thing. Lo & behold, there was a billing late statement over 30 days late. Capital One reported this late statement To the credit bureau without even notifying me I had a late statement. So, I immediately paid for the bill and late charges. I then called Capital One. They did not care that I didn't get a bill.
I told customer service rep to look at my history as we have had this card for over 30 years and not once have we been late. She refused to do anything about it. My credit was penalized by 100 points. This card will never be used again in my lifetime. It was totally uncalled for that they would not even consider removing this from my credit report when it was Capital One's fault to begin with.

Having a credit card and keeping payments current has definitely helped my credit rating. My problem is that there is an annual fee and there are no rewards. I realize my credit was poor and was lucky to get a credit card so really can't complain. I do like having the card for gas purchases due to the high occurrence of theft through using debit cards at gas pumps. I pay my card off every month for most part to avoid high interest rate.

Capital One decided they didn't like Plaid, now owned by Visa, so they restricted all third party financial tools from accessing customer accounts. Now we can't use some of the most common personal financial management tools available. What a stupid hill for Capital One to die on. No Venmo, no Truebill. I have two cards and two bank accounts with Capital One and they will all be closed because of this company's arrogant self-service and lack of consideration for tools their customers want to use. Some executive at Capital One thinks they've made a smart call and they're sticking to their guns. They're just losing customers.

I did receive a Purchase Adjustment, but was reversed with interest two months later (May 2020). Capital One asked me for more documents, including flight records indicating that I left India in the middle of the contracted duration and shared me invoices that the merchant provided to Capital One. It should have been evident from the documents gathered that the merchant was unable to fully fulfill their obligations yet Capital One sided with the merchant citing “Visa technical requirements”. I had a Costco vacation trip canceled and 10 days later no credit has been applied to my account. Costco verified that the funds were released but 10 days later no show on my account. Problem: Account only had one charge, which was the vacation. A payment was due, so I had to make a minimum payment and hope that the credit to the account would occur within a 15 day period. I will end up having overpaid account balance AND will incur a finance charge for the noncredit amount, which Cap One says the will refund to me. All of this mess due to a very slow account credit process. They do not seem to understand that they will ultimately lose $ on this scenario. Have been a Cap One customer for 15+ years... And generally pay full amount due every month... No consideration for that.

I was very pleased with the availability of this card and how quickly it was approved. I found the process of getting it to be a little tedious. It was approved online, then I had to wait to get a letter through registered mail where I had to go to the post office and provide identification. After that I received the card and again had to wait for the pin to come in the mail. Finally I was able to activate it. Then I had to pay $59/annual fee! I understand the importance of keeping a step ahead of the thieves, but it took a really long time between the approval and the ability to use it! I think the fee is pretty high considering the lack of benefits, but it is a reestablishing credit type card, so I’m grateful for the opportunity.

Capital One seemed to be a good option to rebuild credit. However they always start you with a very low credit limit and the fees lower that even more. When it’s time to increase credit limits other companies are more generous with that increase and provide options many times over the year to increase. I don’t mind capital one as a company and their app is good quality but I feel they are very stingy with credit increases. Even when pre approval of other loans in their company. Been with them over a year and have a measly 500 limit while my other cards are well over 1k each.

However, shortly thereafter I tried to charge a large purchase and not only was it denied but all of my charges ended up getting denied, the card restricted until they did their investigation. I have been a Capital One credit card customer for more than 8 years. I used the credit card 3 or four years ago and tried to pay off the balance for many years. Since I lost my job a few times and was unemployed for 6 to 7 month for the past 6 years, I am only able to make minimum monthly payments. However, they increased the interest rate for 22.5% and 65% if my payment is going for monthly interest and just 36% goes into principal. I called a few times to talk to a representative, but the automated system put me on hold for a long time. Since I have to get back to my work, I was forced to hang up.
Finally, after waiting on the phone on hold for my entire lunch break, they sent me to different CSR. Each time they will transfer me to a different department and I have to wait on hold for several minutes. Finally, I mentioned that "since none of the CSR are not able to help I requested to speak with a manager. After waiting for another 25 to 30 minutes, the manager said there was nothing they could do to help me.
I mentioned that I wanted them to reduce my interest rate and offer me a payment plan, so that I could reduce my credit card balance. My wife lost her job due to COVID-19 and we needed some help to manage our monthly payment. This Capital One credit card high balance makes my credit score go down. But the manager said they do not have any programs to help me. I wonder, if there are any federal government affiliations with Capital One banking? When the banks are in need of financial assistance, the Federal government steps forward to bail them out. During this pandemic, the whole world is going through financial hardship and everyone seeking help. If anyone else having the same problem as me, please let me know if you have found any solution.

When I looked at my transactions, I had paid my entire balance off on 9/3 and on 9/16 Capital One charged me $71.15 of interest on an account with a $0 balance. The new check is dated past the date of the other deposit, and has a different check number. Capital One advised me to either mail the check into deposit, or open an account with a local bank and have the money transferred. What is the point in using Capital One if I need another local institution to cover for Capital One’s inefficiencies? I might as well simply use a local bank and skip the hassle. Get it together Capital One. It is not uncommon to have like checks from month to month. To make matters worse, calling for assistance and being told I should have a local banking option shows Capital One is aware, but doesn’t care enough to have a solution for their customers.

Coronavirus has affected everyone differently and at different times. Like I previously mentioned my credit card has always been in good standing until recently when I fell behind a couple of months ago. I missed one payment (a payment was made, but not the full min payment) and my second payment was late while I waited my for EI Claim to be processed. Payment arrangements were made and I am now caught up and back on track...so I thought, only to find out Capital One has raised my Interest Rate in the midst of a pandemic. How terrible! It shows Capital One truly doesn't care about its customers.
Original Review: I am disappointed with the support and understanding during Covid-19. My credit card has always been in good standing until now. Other companies have, defer a payment, lower interest rates, waive late/over limit fees. Capital One’s solution to me was “how about we round it up to a number that’s easy for you to remember”. The number suggested was quite a bit higher than the payment due. I know how much is due and do not have a problem remembering cents! I found it to be insulting during these challenging times. Covid-19 has financially affected everyone differently and at different times.

The interest was high and they wouldn’t reduce it similarly to other cards for more than 12 months. I had to complain to several authorities in reference to a cc payment linked to a bill. I received my money with zero assistance. At any rate my credit has greatly improved and I have options. Use this card to build credit. Pay the bill as soon as they post to your account. Other than that don’t apply.

I paid my balance in full 11 days before my bill was due. Then they charged me interest on a 0 balance. I called thinking that this was wrong to do to a customer. I opened my email thinking this was to tell me it was paid in full to find out I'm charged interest because I didn't pay my balance in full the month before also. If I hadn't opened that statement I would not have known the bogus interest charge and they would have charged me a late fee and reported to the credit bureau. The first lady I talked to acted like my being a loyal 18 year customer did not mean a thing. They were willing to lose a customer over $7.42! So I asked to talk to a manager and after being on hold for 20 min, I received the same treatment from her. Neither one blinked an eye when I said I would close my account.
They just don't care. What happened to the days where companies would do little things to make a customer stay with them? I mean, 7 dollars wouldn't break me but it also would not break them being a billion dollar company. But to be treated like just a number pissed me off. I was only ever angry and yelled at a customer service rep one other time like 15 years ago and guess what? It was this same company. Why didn't I learn my lesson back then instead of giving them thousands of dollars over the years? I decided to keep my account open because it is good for my credit score. But it will NOT be my go-to card like before and I would never open another account with this shady company!

The charge was flagged for fraud! While in line after the first attempt, we called Capital One and the representative had us try 3 more times with the same card while they were on the phone with us. It failed each time. Capital One then informed us that because we tried 3 or more times that the flag could take 1-2 weeks to get removed. So I tried my other card and it was flagged. I had to call Capital One again and while on the phone, I had them fix the issue.
After nearly 1 hour I was able to use our second card. The issues are that the original card is the one we use all the time because of 1.5x miles has now been suspended. We have all our recurring bills placed on this card! What a hassle. So we are probably going to move to a different banking and card company. Especially after we call Capital One while driving home and he stated that the conversation would be recorded for training purposes. I said, "Great, so am I." I have a $400 balance on this card which means that my credit usage went from .04% to 20%! This will impact my credit score significantly...because of the usage and even when I pay that off, I will still have a drastic decrease in my overall available credit. I had a horrible year 2019, car accident, therapy, etc. so I had a difficult time keeping up with my payments, two out of 3 cards were restricted, including my precious biz card that I worked so hard for. I've had these accounts for approx 5 years or more in good standing prior to 2019. Different than a couple of my other card companies with the same history, same faithfulness, they didn't care, immediately sent my accounts to collections. My good score plummeted over 140 points to 540. Capital One did not leave me high and dry. I called in and the CSR told me my accounts were restricted. I had no idea what that meant, but after talking more with her, it was over, a done deal with the credit.
I asked for a Credit Manager and when I explained what occurred to me (she has no idea that the car accident and therapy was very small part of what I was dealing with as a single mom), she advocated on my behalf. I have no idea what department she was speaking with, but each step of the way while on the call she was considerate, returning to inform me that she was still on the call and continuing to attempt to get my cards reinstated. Finally after 30 minutes, it was all done, she did it!!!
My accounts were reinstated and I was in a position to pay down the balances that were at least $500 - $1k over their limits. I figured, heck if a company can do this for me, I have no problem giving what is owed to them, fees and all. I will forever be dedicated to Capital One and if I have nothing else in my wallet, it's OK. So now I am rebuilding my business, helping my daughter to return to college and pay my basic rent. The next day I started to get pings on my phone about checks that were bouncing out of that same account. Puzzled, I checked my balance - it was ZERO! I immediately went to my bank and they froze my account to investigate the check fraud this person committed.
The payments I made on bills and other credit cards all bounced and my direct deposit from Social Security bounced back to the office since my account was "frozen" for three months. My grandson needed to get laser eye surgery for a job he applied for at that time last year, and the service provider required a cash payment of $4,000.00. The card was the perfect solution for him to have the surgery. My grandson got the job after he had the successful surgery! I also chose this card because I frequently travel abroad. The card does not charge international transaction fees for purchases made out of the United States. The card also offers 1.5% cashback on purchases. It's the perfect card for me.

Capital One kept demanding me to go to another mechanic and my funds of $158.77 will be return back to me. I gave Capital One the inspection report from Pep Boys as requested; it disclosed that my car brakes was making noise and burning smell. Your Mechanic put new front brakes on a warped rotor.
Capital One dispute process became deceitful with their practices. They began to be dishonest as they vigorously change the rules, they decided with Your Mechanic. I had shared with Capital One dispute information I had with Better Business Bureau as I filed a claim against Your Mechanic. Your Mechanic was fabricating and informing Capital One different stories and telling BBB other stories. I decided to disclose information Capital One card services and included that information in my dispute regarding such communication between BBB and Your Mechanic. Your Mechanic wrote to BBB that they couldn't make any adjustments to their policies on return or honor my warranty because I had filed a complaint with Capital One Bank. BBB closed my case as if Your Mechanic was acting in good faith. On the other hand, Your Mechanic sends Capital One Bank lies and false evidence trying to prevent me from receiving my refunds.
What mechanic would put new front brakes on a warped front rotor? Then Your mechanic sends a fraudulent inspection report (after I gave Capital One the inspection report requested from Pep Boys). The report does indicates a warped rotor. Your mechanic inspection report was never given to me and this is the 1st time I ever seen such a report from Your Mechanic. Then I received a phone call and email from BBB President who wants me to give the return $158.77. However, the next day, my bank Capital one card services close my case siding with Your mechanic stating that their evidence was not in error. Capital one told me to go back to the Merchant, Your Mechanic. My bank suppose to fight for me and have all my money and I have credit cards with this bank.
I discovered later that Capital one is a member with Better Business Bureau and Your Mechanic is also a member of Better Business Bureau. This is an conspiracy. As you aware to be a member you have to pay membership dues and Capital One bank is not for the best interest of their customers! Your Mechanic is telling BBB that they want to return my funds however fighting Capital one not to return my funds back to me. 3. Contacted Viagogo again and the representative informed me they had no notification that the event was cancelled.
4. Contacted Viagogo again and requested a supervisor to confirm they have received the information provided. I was informed it was received and would be sent to another department for review. I would be contacted soon.
5. Contacted Viagogo again and requested to escalated this refund request. She reviewed the account and informed me she had received the e-mails and would process the request.
6. Requested supervisor for follow up, Supervisor indicated they have the information, but the event has been postponed to 2021. Not True!!
Not once did receive a phone or response that was NOT a generated e-mail. At this point I contacted Capital One and requested the charges be reversed based on Viagogo refund policy. I was informed by the Capital One representative to save ALL correspondence for 90 days and I would be contacted about my request. I was lucky enough to call in to Capital One for assistance with questions and concerns regarding my pre-approval and I had the pleasure of working with a rep named Hema **. This representative went above and beyond to make sure that all of my questions were answered and that I was well taken care of. What could have been an extremely stressful process was made so easy and seamless that it truly made myself and my husband feel like we were being specially cared for. Not only did she do her job beyond expectations but she actually took interest in me, as a person, and she paid attention to our conversation as if I was a part of her family.
She waited patiently with me while I got my husband on the line, as he was working during our call and not able to come to the phone immediately, and she was fast and efficient so as to not take up too much of his time. I have NEVER in my life had such a memorable customer experience... to top it all off she even sent us a surprise gift to show just how much she CARED and paid attention (as the gift was relevant to our interaction - a picture frame for my husband and I who were recently married). It’s funny how people say “it’s the little things”... but it’s TRUE! Hema has set the bar extremely high for all of my future interactions with customer service reps... because she was just so exceptionally great. CAPITAL ONE, I hope you know you have one outstanding representative, take good care of her because she is definitely taking great care of your customers and because of her I will likely ALWAYS be a Capital One Customer!

I ordered clothing from an online retailer. I received just 5 of the 8 items I ordered & paid for. What I did receive, 30 days after ordering, was of poor quality. I reached out to the company three times to return the product. They never responded. I finally disputed the charge with Capital One. After 90 days of filing my dispute, fulfilling multiple requests for random support about the transaction and HOURS on the phone they closed my case because the "timeframe expired".
I called again, "manager" refused to transfer me to his supervisor, refused to have anybody call me, said I had no proof that I didn't receive all the items and asked if I could prove the quality was not good. Worst experience ever. He was SO disrespectful. I am a bank exec and I can't imagine my team treating a client the way I was treated not to mention cheated. I can not believe I have to pay for something I never received and what I did receive will be donated to goodwill. I have excellent credit and can get any credit card I want. Good Bye Capital One.

Since January I've had to pay and get reimbursed for fraudulent charges on my credit card. I was mailed new cards on two separate occasions to "end the problem." Aggravated, I never activated the second card. May 2020 I got a notice, I owed $14. I called the automated line to make a payment and to get reimbursed (again) but couldn't get through "due to Covid-19." I paid online. Last Saturday (June 2020) I get a notification that I'm nearing the payment danger zone.
I called to speak with a rep and learned I had a late fee from May 2020! I was livid! But still paid. The following Monday I'm notified that my credit score dropped 70 points because of this. I called again and spoke with supervisor Eliana ID# ** (who literally didn't know how to spell her own name). She was extremely rude and totally unprofessional. I called again today and spoke with supervisor Tara ID#**, who pretty much treated me the same. She "couldn't provide a corporate phone number, email, or any contact for anyone above her." These people are not helpful at all. They came on accusing, not wanting to know my issue, rejecting and over talking me. It's like they're trained to discourage you. Since they're no higher ups I'm notifying my other consumers - BEWARE!

I am an expat and as such use Capital One online banking. I wanted to start using their mobile app, but could not activate it because it does not accept a foreign phone number. I called them using their international, supposedly, call collect number and after being bounced around to 4 different representatives, it turned out that Capital One does not support foreign addresses or phones. To add insult to injury, I received a hefty phone bill from my phone company for the supposedly free call.

They said received payment then 4 days later said didnt receive payment then my credit score dropped 5 pts. Mailed in payment. Account showed received. Went to use card didnt work called them. They said since they didnt know my early payment didnt work they would put hold on my account for 8 days. Asked talk to supervisor they more or less said tough luck charley. I called customer care on another capital one card ive had for years told them trouble I had asked them how a company that had customer for years never late on a payment could be treated this way again told more less tough luck charley. Cancelled both cards. Stay away from capital one.

Capital One canceled my cc for no reason, I was never ever late and used the card but the last 12 months I was paying off other cards and didn’t use the card. I am not happy at all because it damaged my credit limits and score. They should notify consumers before they close an account.

I’ve had 2 credit cards paid off one $300. Dig this, they knew I was trying to pay it off and hurried up and charged me an early annual fee when it wasn’t even time. This other credit card I’ve got for $750. Boy oh boy the interest is so high that when I make the minimum payment it takes half right away. I’m in a merry-go-round. I feel like I’m a slave to them. I’ve even cut it and never use it. For several years the balance just stays the same. I can’t afford a higher payment to hurry up and pay it off. So I will pay it completely off next years income tax because this is a joke and it’s as if they're the crooks. It doesn’t make any sense. I don’t use it and haven’t but I’m constantly stuck paying this high interest and extra fees. So be very careful with these spying rip-off Capital One Credit card crooks!
