    Switched from a personal account to a business account. I had insurance on the personal as well as picking up on business account. Asurion wouldn’t honor my claim on the cell phone because they say the phone wasn’t in use at the time of the incident which was before I switched to the business account only two weeks prior. It’s not like I switched companies...I switched to a different level of account in the same day! B.S!!! Spent three days on the phone with ATT and Asurion! Says my contract started over when I changed to a business account. The device serial number didn’t change. You have sixty days to file a claim. Now they say since I closed the personal account and switched to a business they can’t process the claim.

    Worst customer service I have ever experienced. I completed the entire claim process and only afterwards realized there was an error with the address I had submitted for delivery. Using the online chat feature I was informed that they could not help me fix this simple detail and was told I would need to call the customer service department. After waiting on hold for a half an hour I was informed that it was somehow beyond them to change the address and the only way to do this was to cancel the entire claim and start again. A company that can't even access its own files to edit the details is not worthy of my time.

    The experience with Asurion was the worst with customer service. None of them knew what they were talking about. The second customer service rep I talk with was very rude. All gave me the run around. It wasn’t until the fifth day and the last rep who gave me the right answer. After I receive my replacement phone I was sent a inactive SIM card and still got the run around on how to replace it. The service was the worst. All customer service need to be retrained on speaking and knowledgeable information. The reason why I give one star is because that one person who knew what to do. Other than that I would give no stars.

    I opened a claim for fixing the defect in my flute on Dec 3rd 2018. While doing I was told that the shipping label will be generated and sent to me within 4 days. Instead after multiple phone calls and chat with customer support I received the label on Dec 15th 2018. I shipped my flute to the given address and the flute was received by the service center on Dec 26th 2018. I was told that the flute will be fixed and sent back to me within 10 days from the receipt at service center. Going by that and considering only working days I waited for the update till Jan 10th 2019. When I contacted the support guys, they told me that they have no information if the flute was with them and asked me to provide the UPS tracking number to them. It is weird that the company did not have the tracking number with them as it was supposed to be updated against my claim number.

    Since then I have called up the customer center a number of times and also had chat with them every alternate day. Every time I was told the claim was on high priority and I will receive a call from the service center and/or their supervisor within 48 hrs. But I never got a call. Last I called them on Jan 30th 2019 and then I was told that the flute is dispatched to me on Jan 26th but the customer center did not have the tracking details. This status again is weird. Going by the date and considering company sent the flute with ground shipping I should have got it by today but I have not yet. I was assured that I will receive a call back from the supervisor within 24hrs.

    I am writing this review after 30hrs since my last call to the customer center. I did not receive any call. I had a chat with someone by name Karen today. First she said there is no update from the service center and flute is still there. Later she stated that the service center has not provided any tracking number yet but it's been dispatched. Meanwhile I managed to get one tracking number from UPS for the shipment sent to me by the Asurion service center. The label was created Jan 21st and the status on the label said that the shipment was not shipped yet. I am not happy with the service and will not recommend this insurance to anyone. I just need my flute back at the earliest.

    I purchased 2 tablets for my children, one stopped charging and the other was dropped and cracked. The tablets were replacement with completely different tablets and the new tablets will not load anything for my children. Watching videos on the tablet freezes it up!!! The replacement tablets and nowhere near comparable to the original and I am very disappointed as well as my children!!! I will now have to purchase new tablets (which I should not have to considering I purchased the protection to replace the originals with comparable tablets) but instead now I will be spending more out of pocket to purchase new tablets that actually work and definitely will NOT be purchasing this protection plan again!!! WORTHLESS!!! WASTE OF MONEY!!! I would have kept the cracked tablet had I known the replacement wouldn't work. At least the cracked tablet did work for my child!!!

    Updated on 02/06/2019: My initial review was one star - for horrible customer service. After more “service” from Asurion, I’d like to rate them with negative stars, and lots of them. My review was about how Asurion denied my claim after my daughter’s phone was stolen - her backpack slashed on a busy subway. Asurion sent out a replacement phone - then recalled that shipment. When I called in to find out why, Asurion told me they’d denied my claim. When I asked why, I was literally told, “We can’t tell you why - read your Terms and Conditions.” They told Verizon they’d send an explanatory letter out...that letter never came.

    Still not knowing why my claim was denied, I wrote a review here. Asurion posted this response: “Hi Barton, rest assured we are happy to help in any way we can. This is not a typical customer service experience and I would like to dig a little deeper into this matter for you in order to get to the root of the matter. Please send your name, telephone number, claim number and your best contact information. Look forward to speaking with you soon. – Tasha”.

    Wow, I thought - sounds like they’re concerned - and they say they’ll respond soon. Soon? After providing Tasha with all the information requested, three days go by, then five. After a week...nothing. It’s clear to me that the “Rest Assured We Are Happy to Help” reply post from Asurion was nothing more than damage control - a spin for your benefit so the readers of these reviews will think, “Hey, when Asurion has a horrible review, they get right on it!” Hogwash. I see plenty of glowing reviews here, and for those of you who have received good service from Asurion, I’m happy for you. For those who, for whatever reason Asurion can dream up, have your claim denied, may God help you. I have never in my life experienced worse customer service - anywhere.

    Original Review: My daughter’s phone is stolen in the morning of 1/18/19 – probably around 9:45. Her backpack is slashed on the subway and someone has taken the phone. I call Verizon to report the phone as stolen the same day, 1/18. Verizon transfers my call to Asurion – where the agent there processes my claim and says that they’ll get a phone out to me right away. I get an email (1/18) indicating, “Your Asurion claim is complete,” and that a shipment is imminent. I then get a UPS tracking number confirming shipment.

    I later check the shipment status at UPS (probably 1/20), which indicates “Returning to Sender”. I first web chat with someone at Asurion to find out why the phone has been recalled by the sender. The Asurion web chat indicates something about “abuse of the program”. When asked to clarify, he indicated I needed to call in and talk to someone.

    I called, and reached the adjustor. She indicated that my claim had been denied. I asked why the claim and been denied, and she told me, “I can’t tell you why, read your Terms and Conditions.” Finding it hard to believe an adjustor could not tell me (the insured) why my claim had been denied, she assured me that, not only could she not tell me why my claim had been denied, she explained that she was prevented from doing so by law. When I asked her to cite that law, she declined, and again told me to read the Asurion Terms and Conditions.

    I called Verizon the next morning, 1/21. The Verizon agent calls Asurion, and tells me that Asurion has denied the claim because the phone service had been suspended. The Verizon agent says if we just re-institute the service and I re-file the claim, there should be no problem. The Verizon agent re-institutes service for the number, and transfers me to Asurion. The Asurion agent takes some information, and indicates that all I need do is fill out an Affidavit & Proof of Loss Statement, and upload that, along with a copy of my identification, all would be good. I printed out the Affidavit, filled it out and uploaded it and a copy of my drivers license to the Asurion site (1/22).

    On 1/23, I started with Asurion, and spoke to William – who could not offer much in the way of help, so I called Verizon. Verizon indicated at first that the Asurion notes indicated that I’d already received the replacement phone. I assured her that I had not. Verizon called Asurion, and we again spoke to William. William indicated that his notes said that I had cancelled my claim (odd, he made no mention of that the first time we spoke that day). I informed William I had done no such thing. William then transferred me to another operator, who then contacts the adjustor, who again indicates that I’ve been using the claim in some inappropriate way – in what way, she can’t say – but she says they’ll send out a letter explaining why. The letter never comes.

    Imagine if your health insurance company denied you an operation – and when ask why they’re denying your claim, they tell you, “I can’t tell you.” That’s the insurance you’re buying with Asurion. P.S. I've read the Terms and Conditions. I cannot for the life of me tell why Asurion has denied my claim. I am a good man, and try to live my life so that I can die proudly, without regret. I haven't tried to scam or trick or take advantage of anyone or anything. Asurion has accused me of exactly that - but they won't tell me why.

    They charge 15$ a month to cover you if your phone gets damaged, lost or stolen but then charge another like 200-300$ if you do end up needing a replacement phone. I have just received my THIRD replacement phone since September when I dropped my phone in the ocean. The first two replacement phones were damaged upon delivery. The second replacement phones screen was popping off and you could see where they tried to glue it. I just received my third replacement phone and the SIM card holder is bent upwards where you poke the SIM card ejector in. So I am unable to put a SIM card inside.

    I have been told repeatedly by Asurion that I cannot get my 300$ replacement fee back because it is non refundable but they keep sending me garbage phones that are damaged and don't work. I have had enough and it has been so very frustrating especially with how slow mail gets here. I apologize for this huge rant but I do not wish this disaster on anyone. This is hectic.

    When I purchased my phone from Sprint I also added a Asurion protection plan. Part of that plan was a 29 dollar screen replacement program. Unfortunately my phone was dropped and my screen was cracked. Imagine how absurd it sounded when I went to file my claim and was told that they could not replace the screen because where the phone's screen was cracked that there was some glass missing and that I would need to pay 250 dollars to replace the entire phone. I mean cracked screens generally have glass missing where it's cracked. What a rip off!

    I received the phone next day as promised and it is in good condition. However the battery life in this phone is worse than my original phone. When I first called to set up the lady was helpful however when she connected the replacement phone it immediately hung up the call I had with her and no one called me back. I had to get another phone to call back and continue the setup process, this was a bit frustrating. It would have been better if she told me what to expect or asked me to call in a different phone.     My husband’s phone broke about a month ago, so he put in a claim to get a new phone and they DENIED it because they didn’t have the right information for him to put his phone information! So he had to fill out a paper form and try again. Finally! They took his claim and sent him a new phone, after he paid $200 to replace it. Even though we have been paying $9 a month for over a year! So he finally got his new phone and within 2 weeks of him having it, the battery dies so fast (within a couple of hours), and he can no longer make phone calls!

    AGAIN he tries to get ahold of them via email but they call him (even though he can’t call) So he has to use an old phone, get a hold of them and they will send him the same type of phone (that now broke TWICE!) but nothing else!!! Total waste of time, money and energy! What a freaking joke this company is! All they want is your money! They don’t care about customer service at all!

    After years of paying into Asurion for backup protection, I finally had to use my insurance and pay a $199 deductible to replace my Samsung S8+. When receiving the refurbished replacement I noticed the top right had a small crack already. So I called UPS that same day they delivered and told them my package was mishandled and my item is damaged. They said I should bring in the package and phone to file a claim, apologized for the issue. The closest UPS store is 60 miles away and I called and told Asurion and Verizon rep we were heading 1,700 miles away for a funeral that same night.

    When I got back in town to take care of this matter the UPS store denied my claim because I didn't have 1 of the inside packaging piece that held the phone inside the box. Worse yet, when I called Asurion they told me I was out of a 7 day warranty for this issue! And whatever representative I spoke with did not document my claim so there is nothing they can do! Years of paying my $40 monthly Asurion coverage and paying $199 to receive a damaged refurbished phone for what? I got scammed. Why was I not advised about this 7 day policy before wasting my time at the shippers? Why only 7 days when I could not help the family passing? All I wanted is a damaged free device with the insurance that I pay for. I will advise buyers beware!!! I will be looking to switch insurance. More than frustrated in Michigan.

    I have been paying for phone insurance for about 2 years but when I needed to replace my screen, Verizon passed me off to Asurion who require you to go online, print out their form, attach government ID, and fax it all back to them. The entire process is overly complicated. Most people in the world have no clue what a fax machine is. You should be able to get verified through Verizon or your phone service provider and not put your personal information out there again for hackers.

    The entire process should be as simple as calling in or going online. I tried to talk to these people but they just say nothing is wrong. I wish I knew then what I know now. I would have found a better phone insurance company or just put money back.

    I haven't broken in a phone in a good ten years or more. Yesterday I cracked my screen and can't use my phone. I called Asurion and they don't stock my phone any longer and don't have any phones that are comparable at the moment. They will get back to me sometime in 3-10 BUSINESS DAYS if they have a replacement. Oh and the best part, they will give me updates every 2 days VIA MY BROKEN PHONE. So what I'm just supposed to go without a phone for up to two weeks or longer?

    I told the rep on the phone I need my phone for work and travel, and the Verizon store I was in had my phone in stock, can't they swap it out. She wouldn't do anything to help me. I told her, "WTF is the point of insurance if you can't replace my phone until god knows when or if at all." At this point she told me to have a good day and hung up on me. This has to be the worst service I've ever encountered. When I get a phone I am taking the insurance off of it because of the lack of help and service provided to me.
