    RCN was not helpful told so many lies from Monday, 16 March all the way up until Thursday evening. I work from home couldn’t even get online so that’s four days that I missed of work people in my neighborhood children had homework to do online couldn’t even do their homework and each time. We all called back in. It was just a lie over top of a lie over top of a lie, then one customer service lady was so rude when we asked for a credit she couldn’t do it.

    Why not but y’all want y’all Wi-Fi money when it’s time to pay it that was an inconvenience then tried to tell us that the power outage came from our end, how when it was a outage all over Chicago and other cities had an outage also on, then one person told me that the main box got destroyed but they just told a lot of lies and I’m getting ready to terminate my account with you all and today is Friday the 20th 2026. The only way I was able to post my review is I had to hit those stars. I hit one star but y’all don’t deserve no one star. It need to be no stars. Thumbs down. RCM is some trash garbage

    If I can give a negative star I would. We have 2 choices in our area, Service Electric or RCN. 18 yrs and it is absolutely ridiculous the price we pay, $300 monthly for subpar services!! BUYER BEWARE!

      We switched from Xfinity to RCN and the price kept going up and up. Called to complain. Got a new price quote and then a few months go by and the price went up again. I became a motived buyer at that point and switch services again. I contacted customer service to cancel service and was told I was all set. Lo and behold they changed me for a full month of service again. When I called originally the customer service person never told me any of that. BUYER BEWARE. Go to the BBB.org ** and read all about it.

      Absolute worst service. Had issues with my TV with the box not working. Was told to schedule an appointment for a technician to take a look. On the appointment day, technician did not call me to let me know he was here nor did he talk to the building receptionist and just left. I called back RCN to find out what happened and they told me they would reschedule an all day appointment. Called multiple times throughout the day to ensure the technician didn't try to come again. Waited around all day till 8pm and technician still hasn't showed up. Now I'm being told the next available appointment is 3 days out. Absolute garbage!

      This company is the worst. They double and triple your bill for the same crappy DVR and Modem they gave you years ago. They actually charge you a “convenience” fee to pay your bill with a credit card or checking account - 😝. If you call in and pay they charge you even more. Get FIOS, this company sucks and should be erased from the face of the earth.

      I have had to adjust my work meetings just because of the quality of my internet, and I and I pay for the most highest package they offer. They also charge fees and not tell you about it until all the sudden it's automatically taken out of your account. The staff will never be able to address it or fix an issue for you, they just say I'm sorry to hear this. They will never put a manager on the phone and the manager will never call you back. I'm 41 years old, I've had internet for over 20 years and I've never had this bad of experience with a internet company in my life.

      Just because I canceled my service, they increased the rate for the past month and doubled my charges without notice. I was paying 58 dollars, month. They increase after one year, and only because I canceled the service due to moving out of state my last bill was increased again without notice, for the same services. There is no explanation except for stealing money from customers that stop their services.

      After 19 years with RCN, I can't believe how I was treated today trying to cancel my service. I was put on hold and then disconnected repeatedly. After several phone calls, I went to my local customer service location. The woman was completely rude and didn't want to be bothered with. There was several people in line returning cable boxes. The rep at the counter didn't even ask me why or trying and get me in touch with someone to try and retain me as a customer. Didn't give me any kind of paper stating the account is closed.

      July 1, 2025. I wrote this review as a letter till I can find a contact for corporate office. To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the ongoing and unjustified increases in my monthly service charges. When I initially enrolled, it was under a bundled service plan at a rate of approximately $65 per month. Over time, my monthly rate has increased to $120—nearly double—despite no change in the services or equipment provided.

      I was informed that the original pricing was part of a new customer promotional offer. However, this reasoning is difficult to accept, particularly as promotional rates appear to be selectively offered. A neighbor of mine was recently granted access to a new promotional rate upon inquiry, while I was told that my current pricing was the best available. This inconsistency creates the impression of arbitrary customer treatment and undermines trust.

      Adding to my frustration is the contradiction between the company’s stated commitment to customers and the reality I’ve experienced. According to your customer pledge, you claim: “We’ll make every effort to resolve your issue the first time. Personal service and putting you first in everything we do.” Unfortunately, this has not been my experience. My concerns have not been meaningfully addressed, and I feel that loyalty as a long-term customer is being disregarded in favor of acquiring new clients with more attractive pricing.

      The ongoing pattern of price increases, coupled with limited-service options and selective promotional practices, borders on price gouging. I feel misled by initial promises and disheartened by the lack of consistent support or consideration. I request a thorough review of my account and a fair, competitive rate that reflects the loyalty I have shown over time. Furthermore, I ask that promotional opportunities be applied equitably and transparently to all customers, not selectively. Thank you for your attention. I look forward to a prompt and fair resolution that reflects the values your company publicly upholds.

      I have been with RCN and than Astound since 2013. They are the most corrupt cable company I ever dealt with. Did you know RCN cable sold their company to astound. Because RCN was under investigation of defrauding their customers. So RCN filed bankruptcy to avoid fines due to their corruption. Astound is just as corrupt and is under the table still linked to RCN. From exuberant fees if you are one day late on payment. Consistent increases in fees. Sometimes monthly. Horrible customer support. Many times hanging up on you, if you complain about continuing price increases. Along with sometimes taking a month to service your cable. If the service is down. AVOID THIS COMPANY 100%.
