Cancelation due to moving servers - Very kind and helpful. When my new server wasn't compatible with your services he worked hard to get me a partial refund. He also informed me of other helpful services and educated me on the terms I didn't understand. Thank you for your help!

Unhappy with the things not done/done by SiteLock, I was ready to end my association. Then after repeated attempts to contact me by Devin, he was performing a clean up of site and installation of an upgraded Firewall to protect against viruses. I'm hopeful that my site will be clean and that customers will be able to visit my site with no issues. Thanks Devin for your persistence and hard work. Fingers crossed.

I've worked with Devin multiple times now. I actually reached out to him specifically for this problem because he's been so helpful in the past. He's consistently given me the best customer service I've gotten for anything web-related and he is excellent at explaining things in laymen's terms, not to mention very patient and kind. 10/10, hope I don't get any more problems but I would definitely work with Devin again!

Scott provided a review of the dashboard. He identified the requirement to upgrade to Infinity based on reaching the scanning limits of the urls of the current plan as well as other benefits of Infinity. Also he explained the option of removing access to countries other than Canada and the US to reduce bad Bots. He was knowledgeable, professional and had a pleasant approach which was appreciated.

I recently had a new account set up with several domains as they had been infected with malware. They cleaned all the sites and shortly thereafter I needed to remove one from the account. I had no problems canceling that account and they even refunded me which was a unexpected surprise!

I contacted SiteLock to make sure my websites are secure, especially after the GDPR changes. Around May 25th I added a Firewall to 2 websites and then BlueHost added SSL certificates to some of those sites. Since then, I have been on the phone numerous times with Sitelock and with Blue Host because there were problems with the CDN and mixed messages on my web site, some in http:// and some in https://. Nobody informed me in advance that these issues could happen. And I thought it was all handled a few weeks ago. But today I received a call from Denise telling me my site had problems and I should add a Firewall - but I already had a Firewall on that site.
I love Sitelock for the security they provide but I have experienced a lot of frustration each time I add a new security feature to a web site. That has happened in the past. The person I spoke to today, Alie, was helpful with sorting out what services I actually have on Sitelock and fixing an error. Rick, who I spoke to earlier, helped by pointing out all the mixed messages on my main web site - issues that could have been fixed in May when I first had the Firewall added.

Do you like companies who try to scare you into returning their phone calls or to subscribing to their services? I subscribed to HostGator to create a personal website. I immediately started getting calls on my cell phone every day while at work so I could not answer them. They were from Sitelock and the messages varied from website security to an alert on my website. Since my website is not set up yet, I knew the caller was trying to deceive me into thinking that something was wrong with it. Deceitful business practices really tick me off!
I will not be using my website for e-commerce or secure transactions so I don’t care about security and did not initiate any inquiry with this company. I didn’t give this company permission to call me and they must have gotten my phone number from HostGator. HostGator claims they do not share your personal information so how is it that these people got my phone number? I haven’t returned any of their calls so it should be obvious that I am not interested. Stop harassing me! I canceled my hosting service and will go elsewhere with a company that does not use Sitelock.

We’ve been with SiteLock for over a year and are very pleased with the services. We receive daily reports of what is going on with our website. If anything looks suspicious, we immediately receive a call checking if we are working on the website and they take care of what’s needed to be done. We have peace of mind knowing someone is watching out for us. They make it personal too through the reps who are very pleasant to deal with.

My business website was hacked and I hired SiteLock to fix it. They did so and it stayed fixed for 3 months. Then it was attacked again and they cleaned it. After that I began looking around for other solutions. I found several that were reputable and cheaper and more permanent. I called to cancel my service with SiteLock and was told they would only cancel if I paid an early termination penalty of 1/2 the total contract - 6 months at $50.00 a month, I have 2 months left on the contract ($100) and they wanted to charge me $250 to cancel. They would not work with me, so I am writing this review to warn other website owners of their policy. They did nothing wrong, I signed the agreement, not thinking about the need to possibly cancel it in the future. They were professional and courteous. I just don't like working with companies who won't work with you.

Had to change the credit card on file as the current credit card on file, our Pastor's credit card, will no longer be used. He will be leaving our Parish as of 06/28/18. I had no complaints from our webmaster/visitors since we started SiteLock April 2017. No news is good news. So it seems everything is fine with our website.

We have reduced our site to an information type page and eliminated the shopping cart. We needed reduced security but still wanted some protection. Stephen was able to provide us with this and lowered our cost of service. We now have a secure fire wall and have been able to get our web cost under control.

I've spent the last four days on live chat with BlueHost, literally hours, trying to fix my site. The finally told me I can't have SiteLock AND SSL certificate (it was about their 15th reason offered). I contacted sitelock, they called me right away, reconfigured the SSL, fixed everything, answered ALL of my questions. Thank you!

The only confusion: the phone number listed on the SiteLock dashboard connected me to a person from Network Solutions who had no idea how to help me. I had to find the correct helpline number on my own. Once I found the number, I had a great experience with SiteLock's tech support.

My site was hacked and Google shut it down. The team at SiteLock restored the site and removed back doors and bad links that hackers placed it the site code. They had a straightforward restoration process and had firewall protection for sale. They implemented the changes immediately and my site was functional within a few hours; I called around 11pm, I found my website operational early next morning.
I recommend Sitelock includes the firewall as part of their hosting for all sites since this site was hacked on the server of the provider who I am doing business with. The site is on their server and they must protect my site which is, my asset as the client and theirs as the host, a shared asset. Banks do not charge for thicker steel vault doors or for better online encryption. Please correct the pricing to reflect the protection offered upfront, which also reflects your investment in our shared asset, your server. Thank you for the great service and prompt solutions.

The first rep that contacted me, Aladin was amazing, very helpful and friendly and explained to me what was going on with my site and how it could be corrected. He was fun, light hearted and outgoing and took away the stress of finding out my site was infected with malware. It's my opinion that SiteLock is exhibiting predatory sales tactics. In my case they sold me on the service to monitor and protect my website from malware for a subscription fee. They are aggressive. But the worst part is that malware infected my site again and I called SiteLock for help since I'm a paying customer. Even though they originally sold me on the effectiveness of their products they told me they were not going to be able to remove the new malware and it would cost $300 to remove it. They also were trying to sell me on more services. It's just my opinion but then I believe they set up a system to catch people when they are most vulnerable then charge them a lot to get their website working again. The support people that I talked to are salespeople. Look elsewhere folks. Save yourself the wasted time, money and the headaches that come with choosing the wrong company to protect your website.

I had been having difficulty with activating SiteLock Smart Scanner since purchasing the product... after changing over from a 'shared' to a 'Cloud' server with Hostgator - I sent a 'cry for help again yesterday'. I requested a phone call during Australian Bus. Hours - and ADAM called me on time and fixed everything over the phone... AND helped with a WordPress/website issue I didn't know how to fix... He went above & beyond in the service, not only with Smart Scanner, but the extra website/plugin issue too. AWESOME - I am very happy and no longer frustrated with issues. Thank you.

My tiny commerce website, where I sell books on how to build acoustic guitars from kits, was taken over by hackers and I had no way to fix it. I was referred to SiteLock by my host. Within four days, they had cleaned my site and I was able to go back online. I also received Trademark Infringement letters caused by the hackers' evil sense of "humor," and the causes of those infringements also went away. Couldn't ask for better service, and they stayed in touch all through the process.

SiteLock didn't spot a malware infected site for 4 months then tried to charge me $99 per month for a product that costs less than $300 per year, on a site that they were meant to be protecting. 4 months and over 1,000 additional malware infected pages created and SiteLock didn't spot one of them. I was told that it only scans 5 pages, this simply isn't true, the wording on their site states that "SiteLock Lite is a free malware scanner that searches for malware by scanning the sitemap of your website for infections", with over 1,000 malware pages listed in the sitemap I cannot possibly see how they didn't spot it. If SiteLock had scanned any single page, they would have found the malware. SiteLock didn't scan the website or SiteLock are so bad that they simply didn't find the malware.
So, sitelock's product is less than useless. SiteLock lie to you over the phone and then try to charge you 3 times more than the price of the product you're buying into. Furthermore, the 'security experts' that Bluehost immediately put you through to, because the companies are financially linked, in that they are owned by the same people, are nothing more than sales people. When trying to explain technical information, he simply didn't understand the most basic things I was explaining, instead reading from the same script over and over until he finally agreed to pass me back to Bluehost. DO NOT TRUST OR USE SITELOCK. Keep your server and website patched. Use secure random passwords. Do not use the username admin or root and the likelihood that you'll be hacked is minimal.

I was having an issue with updating my DNS with my Host to have my Firewall configured and was having a frustrated time in doing so. I had spoken to Lou ** at SiteLock and he was extremely helpful! Lou took it upon himself to get HostGator on the phone and hold a conference call between the three of us. He was able to communicate to HostGator what was needed and was able to get the issue resolved in record breaking speed!!! I cannot tell you how much of an asset you have in Lou, his customer service was extremely helpful and professional. My website was hacked about 3 months ago. I signed up for Sitelock services as they promised me that they would clean my website from all malware and make sure that it wouldn't be back. They explained to me that the hackers had found a back door and they were going to repair all the files and make sure that they wouldn't find their way back in. They did clean my website and it was up and running well after about 48 hours. Their customer service reps and technical reps are very nice and sound very knowledgeable. Their service is not cheap at all but I thought that for $50 a month, I was now covered... 3 months later, I suddenly couldn't log in onto my admin panel. My access was "forbidden". I contacted them many times (as well as my website host) with no answers at all from Sitelock. No one contacted me back...
Fortunately, after about a week, I was finally able to log in but with no explanation. Three weeks after this first incident, the same thing happened again. When I called this time Sitelock (instead of contacting them online with no response) the rep told me it was probably a problem with my host server. After spending 1 hour with my host server, I was told it was something else. I contacted Sitelock again, this time to be told that my site had been hacked again: the first hackers had "reopened" the back door (that Sitelock was supposed to have found and closed) and this time wanted total control of my site.
They could remedy this if I pay $45 additional a month. I am totally in disbelief and refuse to pay this additional fee as I really think that this is their fault if I was attacked again. They didn't protect my website sufficiently as they promised they would. I am extremely unsatisfied at this point. I still cannot log into my website but I don't want to pay another dollar for a service they didn't render. In the meantime, I'm stuck and pissed off!

This company told me it was 15.99 for a yearly subscription so I agreed - then when I checked my bank account it was actually $1599 - HUGE difference!!! Then I asked to switch to a monthly plan and they said I can cancel at any time and get a full refund. The scanner has been deleting ALL of my files, making my site disappear from online! When I called to cancel it they wanted $900.00!!! Total SCAM! They said "It was in your contract" but give you no time to read it and insist you sign it right away. Totally disgusted with their scanner/malware and even more disgusted with their deceitful business practices and customer service.
Updated on 04/21/2018: So after they didn't like my review of their terrible services they called me 4 times and said they were going to refund me my money and uninstall their lousy software - but they called me a liar, saying they never told me there was a 14-day money back guarantee. After I spoke with them - they decided to call me a liar again - saying they never said they were giving me my money back for the monthly service!! So, my original review stands and is now enhanced to include even more disappointment in their LACK OF ETHICS AND MORALS.
What kind of an idiot do they take me for? I have perfect hearing, ESPECIALLY when it comes to my money! I know what I heard and I know I was lied to TWICE now - and called a liar for "not hearing them". REALLY? How disgusting that companies who charge more than a decent website have the nerve and the audacity to insult an intelligent business person. Appalling. Downright disgraceful and so disappointing in the demonstration of today's business practices.
At least there are SOME honest companies who would never treat their clients so disgracefully. How dare you SiteLock! Beware of Crystal ** and Richelle ** who I quote: "I did not say I was refunding the difference on the call. You need to pay for the clean performed by the Security Analyst and that will cover it." These guys are the biggest scammers EVER. Their service came "free" with our Host Gator account and was supposed to "protect" our websites against malware. Once a week we get a new email claiming there is a "vulnerability" in our website. Call and get them on the phone and they talk you in circles in an effort to upsell you on additional services. The worst thing is it seems to be IMPOSSIBLE to get off of their SPAM list. I email back, they will open a ticket, then reply that I have to contact my service provider to get them to stop.
Well guess what SiteLock and Host Gator, we have switched all of our websites to a different web host provider, and will warn as many people as possible to stay away from both companies. At the very least they should have an Unsubscribe option as is the LAW in this country have they never heard of the CAN SPAM ACT?!

When we signed up for the add-on to our Bluehost site, I asked if we could cancel at any time, I was told that there was a year or 6-month contract. My client received a contract which had a renewal agreement in it unbeknownst to me. When I called to cancel the 1st time I was told that they would cancel after the term had ended otherwise I would receive a cancellation fee. But they renewed the account. When I learned of this I called and the service manager was very rude. Insisting I pay the cancellation fee of $500. I explained what had happened and she insisted they sent me an email and a phone call. But I found no evidence of either. I think they just scam you from the start. When I did notice some hacking on our site, I called them. They had no clue. So how can they say they're even protecting our site or justify the $500!

Sitelock keeps flagging my site as containing malware when it does not. I've had to repeatedly go in and delete files in order to keep my site up. I suspect this is a new revenue stream for Blue Host. Every time I call I get a high pressure sales to buy their latest protection service.

Being a programmer and web developer I am asked on a daily basis about SiteLock. After my own Site was hacked (PHISHING) I decided to get SiteLock on my own site. After I thought my site was set up with SiteLock guess what it was hacked again. I did not get any notifications from SiteLock whatsoever to let me know that there was malicious files on my server. The only way I knew I was hacked again is because my web host suspend my account. Looking at my files I see where I was hacked on 3/25/2018. FOR 3 DAYS TWO OR THREE SCANS and SITELOCK DID NOT PICK THIS UP???
After I got in contact with SiteLock about this they then told me "the FTP was set up automatically by the host via an API call when the services were added. It appears there was an error with the API on 03/28/2018 that kicked the settings out, however since the scan had already run for that day there was no email sent out to you telling you that there was an error" (Again I was Hacked on 3/25/2018 3 DAYS before). IF the API setting were changed why was I not notified by SiteLock by email? If you want to spend your money on a company that does not do their job then you have found them. I will not recommend them to any of my clients.

The company said they will remove my website malware and put my website back on the servers within 3 business and they charge me $300 on 3/23/18. On 3/29/18 my website still not been resolved and they said they lost my files. I call back asking refund since they could resolved the work, the billing department lady Briana ** said she have to charge $210 to cancel service agreement with Sitelock or, you'll be paying $70 a month until six months. The company model is to cause more problems and cheat from people like me. Therefore please STOP and walk away from Sitelock. Do not use unless they do work first before signing any documents or, written guarantee service.

Based on the response I got Sitelock bot is indeed scanning my site without permission and I have to employ firewall to keep it out, however I understand this was some kind of part of Ipage plan and they did it to me. I'm not hosting with Ipage and in the end, this is inconvenience for me. Sitelock should directly ask all users for permission to make sure they understand why they are being scanned. Since they failed to ask I will upgrade my rating to 3 stars.

It appears their bot is scanning my site without permission. My site is continuously blocking their bot: smartscan04.sitelock.com from accessing multiple directories. It keeps trying for some strange reason and now it's being blocked. I would not recommend this as a security solution.

We would be happy to walk you through your dashboard and talk to you about next steps. Our security consultants are available 24/7 to answer your questions." I sent back an email saying: "Please provide the details and location." and got... nothing.
This is the second time BlueHost has "suggested" Sitelock. Previously, when I had a real problem, they refused to tell me what the problem was and insisted that I contact SiteLock, who offered to fix my problem if I paid them a monthly fee. From what I can find, SiteLock is owned or managed by EIG, who also own Bluehost, my (unfortunate) hosting company. Bottom line: This is a scam to sell additional services that are not required. There are no problems with any of my multiple WordPress sites. If you are installing WordPress, you need to also install a site checking plugin like Wordfence. Wordfence is free and will ensure that your WordPress site is not hacked.

I am very grateful to SiteLock in general, and James ** in particular for helping me secure a refund for my subscription which became superfluous when my client – Zest for Life, Inc - decided to go in another direction (they're pulling down the site). On March 1, I spoke to Giles after 6P EST – so after business hours here on the East Coast and he really went the extra mile for me, documenting the details of my case (and reasons for my needing to cancel the pre-paid 1 year agreement I set up for Zest4LIfeInc.com). He followed-up Mar 2 with a very fair and satisfactory resolution to this issue. I was hesitant to take the call when account manager Rachel ** first called me to review my account, as I expected a sales call and an attempt to upgrade the account. I'm not a security expert, so I was worried things would come up in that sales call that I wouldn't understand. But Rachel assured me that it's not a sales call, and followed up with me to make sure I get the information.
On the call, she gave me multiple tips and guided me through the dashboard, to help me understand how to keep my website safe. While she did mention a potential upgrade opportunity, it didn't feel like a sale and she didn't try to pressure me. It was very clear she was primarily focused on providing me value. She was kind and professional, answered all my questions, and invited me to reach out to her if I ever have additional questions.
Later in the call, she transferred me to a representative called Jessie, who was also very kind and professional, and seemed happy to answer my questions. I really appreciate their call today, and your company's willingness to invest resources in quality customer service, and look forward to continue working with you. Thanks again!

I am disappointed with the terms and conditions of the service agreement. While I believe that Sitelock offers a valuable service of protecting my website, I think the prices are higher than what can be obtained for a comparable service. I believe that is why Sitelock uses a contract to keep clients for a year, and needs a high penalty to keep them from leaving early. They might not be able to pay off the partner hosting companies for referring them. I think the practice does not focus on the true service of the client but the bottom line, so they lose the loyalty of the customer. I'm sure this won't continue as they either learn the lesson the hard way--that meeting needs is the goal. Any financial coercion required to maintain the relationship just shows the type of relationship they create.

I was virtually forced into spending a lot of money on SiteLock when my sites got hacked that were on Bluehost. Calling Bluehost support directed me STRAIGHT through to Sitelock's sales team who told me the only option was to buy sitelock. This was before I'd had a chance to research anything or look at other security solutions. Bluehost and Sitelock are both owned by the same corporation (Endurance International Group) and their cross selling is very suspicious. If your sites get hacked, do some research on security options BEFORE signing a sitelock contract. Sure sitelock seem helpful once you're in but they're highly priced and closely linked to Bluehost financially.

After being hacked I went to SiteLock. They locked me into a 6 month contract. They removed what the hackers did. At the end of my contract they crashed my website!! It was nowhere to nd. I called them and they told me "obviously" I had been hacked again and the only way to get my website back was to sign another six month contract. When I called my host they said that SiteLock had pointed my website to their location and it would take a few minutes to point it back. However I lost my ranking in Google because my site had disappeared. But it doesn't end there. When I ended my contract my office was flooded with robocalls every half hour all day and into the evening.

Luke was the technician that handled our concern with SiteLock. He is highly knowledgeable in his field and has great customer service skills. SiteLock should take a look at their employees that portray poor customer service skills and lack the knowledge to be in their positions. I say this because we were actually removing SiteLock before being transferred to Luke. If you are seeing a sudden decline in your customers, I would definitely have a "training" session with your employees before I assumed it was my product. You have a great product but poor Customer Service!! Maybe, Luke needs to oversee your training program. He could definitely teach them how to increase SiteLock's customer base!!

I enjoyed my quarterly review, so much where I was informed about my current services that lead me to feel the need to upgrade. I was very pleased with my customer service I received as well as the transfer process and help from the next representative who assisted me with setting up my Smart Patch and Smart Database. I signed up with a company called SiteLock for an antivirus service they provides. I signed up the first contract on the 14th of January 2014. On this contract it says that if I cancel I will have to pay half of the amount as early cancellation fee. The contract is 12 months and the cancellation fee is around 500$. On the 20th of January I needed to upgrade the service plan so we made another contract which is only 6 months and so the cancellation fee is 300$. Now I am trying to cancel but they are saying that the early termination fee will be from the first contract (which is the more expensive). Is the first contract still valid (signed 14th January 2018) and can they charge me the cancellation fee from the first contract even though we have a new signed agreement (20 January 18) which a cheaper cancellation fee?

Mitzi was super helpful and really quick to reply. She is so patient with my questions since I am not very technical! She is a saint! it's great to have someone you can go to when you have issue as opposed to calling a 1-888 number and hoping for the best.

Mitzi found issues, and helped me know what I needed to do to upgrade and fix them. She was pleasant and helpful and patient with me. She tried the first solution which cost less, and afterward went to the more expensive solution. Hopefully my site will now be adequately protected and secure.

She conferenced a call with me a BlueHost to get a complicated SSL and firewall re-configured and spent an hour on the phone to get this resolved. I could not have done it without her.
