Thought I was calling to make a quick fix and discovered my newly remodeled site isn't compatible with SiteLock. Bummer. That said, Danielle & Thomas kindly refunded me though the renewal had happened a few days ago. Great customer service.

Luis was more than helpful answering any and all questions I had regarding the website protection I purchased.. He walked me through my dashboard and explained all the settings, how I can get help if need be and left me his email if I had any further questions.

Our website, hosted by BlueHost, had been hacked and suspended. Orlantria ended up helping me solve this problem and was super helpful. Together we conference-called Bluehost when she could not log into our site and stayed on the line with me to get the Sitelock account properly set up. She provided excellent service and was calm, professional and positive in her approach and I really appreciated it. Thank you!

The support team is very responsive and willing to help. According to my bank the payment process is not automated, it seem that you use a kind of POS to process and some banks do not accept this process and are asking more automated process of payment. More payment options should be available.

Called to look for additional options to securing my non-profit blog. And when I say "non-profit" I mean that both legally and real sense. Lou helped me find a service that I could afford and provided comprehensive security within what I needed. In looking at my site, they also discovered some inconsistencies with the hosting company. The rep called the host company with me online and talked through the problem, resolving not only my security issues, but the other issues with my site. Thank you.

I have had issues with my blog being hacked and SiteLock was the service suggested by Bluehost. Customer service was very good despite the timezone difference and the customer representatives were happy to answer every question I had.

Samantha was very accommodating and efficient. For almost 20 years our company has provided phone support to our clients, many whose trepidation with technology is assuaged by the personal contact they are able to receive from us. It is because of this that we also, very much appreciate competent and pleasant phone service from our vendors, such as Sitelock. There are times when email, or opening a ticket isn't really the best course of action. Thank you.

Was concerned when I noticed my site was not secure. Was directed to SiteLock through Bluehost. Nathan ** was extremely helpful and got me started with a basic security package. Lou ** got me set up with SiteLock support and connected me on a 3-way call with Bluehost support to activate the secure socket layer for my blog site. Lou got me oriented in the routine operations I should perform to keep my site safe.

Samantha ** was a bit rushing in the beginning, I believe because the kind of environment you guys have there, very rushy but at all time she was able to help me with my questions and problems, I was the 3rd attendant which I contacted and she was the only one being able to give me the right support and finally, take a big weight out of my back. I am very impressed with her support, with the time, talking with her, she became more relaxed and her voice sounded more peaceful which help me tremendously on understanding everything in the right way, which so far before was being quite hard with the other attendants.
This woman was very kind and helpful. I wanted to quit the services and I was very upset, and she was able to agree with me in a deal which is making me considering keep the contract for further year. I was really blessed to have her support and now more than ever, I am happy with site, SiteLock and their deal. 5 stars to Samantha! She is truly a professional. Very well done Sam! And thank you!

I had an issue with my account auto-renewing even though I had selected not to auto-renew. I called and spoke with Customer Success Agent Orlantria ** who handled the issue quickly and painlessly. Although I am no longer using SiteLock, I've been happy with the service and after today's customer support, I will be recommending your service to business associates.

Mathew explained what I had (for $600/year), why I was given that level of service originally, why a reduced level would be appropriate (after he reviewed my site and its general activity), and how this service would continue to keep my site secure. I'm a client of SiteLock for about 2+ yesrs. First I was using scan and clean service via Network solutions until I spoke to a sitelock representative, who advised me that my service is not sufficient and recommended a Firewall premium at 49.99/moth. I was advised that I will never have any issues with my site as it will be watched over against all intrusions.
Well, last week I was advised that my site was infected with some .php files and needs to be scanned and cleaned. I contacted sitelock and to my surprise was offered another service for $300. I was also advised that there are very smart hackers who obviously went around my PREMIUM firewall. I did not expect this excuse! I then spoke to a supervisor who promised to review the original phone call where I was promised all these super services. She was not rude, but her willingness to help can be compared to a sand paper on someone's lips. After talking to her twice I decided to cancel my PREMIUM (non working) firewall. At that time I was transferred to Orlantria **.
For a change I spoke to someone who actually cares for Sitelock. She offered a solution and I accepted. This is a type of a person that should be a supervisor. I'm surprised that some supervisors (in my opinion) care about helping customers as much as I want to help ASIS. I hope that I made my self clear. Eli **. Vice President of Engineering. I called today because my website's host has forced us into a new service (AWS) with which, sadly Sitelock is not compatible. The fellow who picked up (Lou) was extremely helpful, going so far as to show me how to make sure the new server is set right. I wish I could stay with Sitelock in this new server. Thanks guys!

SiteLock practically scammed me for 3 years, charging my credit card each year for a domain I no longer owned. The domain went public for purchase after 2015 and I no longer needed that domain. 3 Years later I come to realize SiteLock kept charging me. I called them and you'd think at least they'd try to make amends but no they offered nothing, not even a penny back. Horrible experience, I feel scammed. I requested an immediate cancellation and remove all my personal information. I hope I'll never come across an issue with them anymore and hope they do remove my information. Never will I ever recommend them, ever... Not on this life.
SiteLock strives to resolve any disputes in a way that satisfies the customer. We have contacted the customer, per the customer's request, we have canceled services and issued a refund. We consider this matter resolved.

Update Credit Card and email dashboard - I was unable to reach SiteLock because my computer uses Windows EDGE rather than Chrome. Still having problems receiving emails from SiteLock. Otherwise Alex was great and helped me very much.

I was an affiliate with Hostgator and recommended them to my clients for hosting. I have been completely scammed by SiteLock and the only reason I signed up for this service is because it was recommended by Hostgator. Sitelock charged me for a month and couldn't figure out how to set the service up on my sites because I was on a dedicated server with Hostgator. They sent me automated emails stating they didn't have my login access even though they did. I got fed up and logged in and canceled my service online but that doesn't actually cancel it.
They then leave a vague customer service call on your voicemail to call back about one of your sites and if you don't call back and cancel again over the phone and sit through their sales call, they won't let allow you to cancel. They say it's for your security but every other internet service company out there has figured out a way to do two-factor authentication so you don't have sit on a phone with their sales team every time you make a change. I have hundreds of sites so I didn't call them back because it costs me money to sit on hold and listen to their sales pitch. Then they charged me for another month.
I called to cancel and they said they are charging a 6 month cancelation fee if I don't stay with them!!! THIS IS A SCAM!!! SiteLock is a scam that doesn't remove any Malware and they just continue to tell you that you need to upgrade and pay them more and more and more money. They use scare tactics to sell people on their service and in the end, you end up getting locked into an expensive long term contract for a crappy service that doesn't do anything. DON'T DO IT!

I was calling to cancel my SiteLock account since I never finished setting up the website. However, after speaking with James ** on the phone, I decided to switch the account to the website I am using. James even noticed that I didn't need the amount of security that I had previously purchased and that I had on the website I wasn't using. So, he immediately issued a refund and set me up with a more realistic plan for me that was about half the cost. That was something I wasn't even asking for nor was I aware of the fact I didn't need it. So, I truly appreciate his exceptional customer satisfaction and service endeavor. He's definitely someone I would want on my customer service team. He needs a raise!

We signed up for SiteLock a year ago when our website was breached. SiteLock walked us through cleaning our site and kept us informed on their progress. We haven't had any issues since and we were able to downgrade our service one level. Whenever I call SiteLock customer service, I know I am going to get speak with an honest, efficient, knowledgeable team member like Lou **. It's a breath of fresh air to have a company and its employees make things easy for you!

I started out with a simple purchase and installation of a standard Sitelock product which very quickly turned into a serious issue which locked me out of my site for some time. SiteLock have all the details which I will not repeat here but in summary it seemed that some of the Support team did not read my communications, that simple tests were not carried out and that I had to continuously chase them. Whilst they were polite I felt that they were only concerned with closing the ticket and not viewing the customer experience holistically. Ie I have solved that problem but I have to raise another ticket to solve the next one.
The only exceptions to this were Shannon ** who kept in touch and did not give up and wash her hands of the problem and Donna ** who finally took ownership of the whole situation and pushed for a solution. DO NOT LET THESE TWO LADIES GO ON HOLIDAYS AT THE SAME TIME otherwise there will be no hope for your customers. Finally, I still have an issue which the tech team could not replicate but which the ipage people have managed to do. I suspect that it is as a result of the installation but are very reluctant to trust SiteLock to fix it.

I have made dozens of calls to SiteLock to get the malware from returning. Each time I called to say it was back, they tried to sell me the next package. I had faith that they were a reputable company because my hosting company, HostMonster is a partner with them. After being sold a new package every time I called with the promise that the next package would prevent the malware from coming back, I finally had to put the breaks on it. I was already at $168 month, then the last time, they wanted to sell me yet one more layer for an additional $30. I lost it. I had enough, and I let into the special service tech, who is nothing more than a salesperson.
I finally had to go with my hunch, which they dismissed each time, that Weebly is populating the malware script each time I publish. It turns out I was right. It was cleverly hidden in the Opt in or out EU script. I cleaned it myself, and have not published again with Weebly. I also have to say all of the positive reviews about SiteLock have to be made by SiteLock people, not real customers. It is impossible that these other reviews are real.

SiteLock has provided excellent customer support and done well with keeping my websites secure. I would recommend them for profitable companies on self-hosted servers. The cost, however, is too great for my own non-profit sites so I am transferring to Squarespace which handles its own security.

SiteLock had overcharged my credit card dramatically, charging approx $500 rather than the expected approximately $100. I had been called to ask about renewing, but there was notification that the price would be $500+... so spoke with Brooke ** for a while, she got all the pieces back in place and she helped Sitelock keep another customer. If not for Brooke’s excellent work, I would have been forced to walk away.

Lou ** checked my account, realized that I used SiteLock through Just Host and contacted them while I stayed on the phone with him. Received an email from SiteLock that there was malware on one of our sites. I checked the site via FTP and there have been no file changes. More importantly, we are no longer on the host that SiteLock claims they were scanning us as part of our hosting package. We have not been on that hosting platform/company for YEARS. Seems like they are scamming here. In fact, the 1 star reviews here on consumeraffairs.com are from the later part of 2018. Seems this is a recent 'business practice' that SiteLock has engaged in. Very shady.

Informed us the website was infected (it wasn't) but point blank refused to say what the issue was, while trying to sell another service to fix the "issue". Repeatedly sent reports showing issues - for a different URL, not ours. They're a con, trying to worry customers into buying more services, which presumably do not work either.

I seem to have the same issues many others have had with this company. I had issues with malware/hacking on my websites back in early 2017. My hosting was done with GoDaddy. They recommended SiteLock to clean everything and install firewalls. I've had nothing but issues since being with SiteLock the past 2 years. I contacted them over a dozen times in two years regarding malware and firewalls not being up. I found out the firewall were not configured when I'd get malware problems which happened 5 separate times in 2017 and 2 times in 2018.
When going through emails it showed I never got what I paid for. I've spent over $2,000 with SiteLock for firewalls that weren't configured on all 5 of my websites. I've wasted SO MUCH time going back and forth with this company fixing issues that should've never been an issue if firewalls were set up. What's more infuriating is I asked one of their consultants last week to help me, but said he couldn't and wanted to sell me MORE firewall protection and didn't tell me everything was not set up correctly. He wanted me to pay an EXTRA $250 a month for something I should've had 2 years ago!
I think they're running a scam. HOW could it be that these firewalls were not configured 5 times and then tell me they are when in fact they're not? It seems like they create problems so their customers will buy more from them when in fact they are either not doing their job or taking off the firewalls so there are issues and customers need to pay more to have it 'fixed'.
I spoke with their former partner GoDaddy, about SiteLock’s services. They told me they had issues the way SiteLock does business. GoDaddy was able to put firewalls all my websites and cleaned off all the malware that SiteLock wanted to charge me for, for less money and no cost to me to clean the site. I spoke with 3 people today at SiteLock telling me it was not their fault my firewalls were not up. Imagine that?! It's their product, but not their fault.

I closed a website on Blue Host and left a message on your answering machine last Saturday. I had it on my "to-do" list for today to call again. Instead, I received a call and the lady had all the information. Unfortunately, this is not typical of most businesses today. I was receiving emails from SiteLock saying that my website, hosted by eHost, was experiencing malware problems and my website was taken down. I was not happy that SiteLock, a third party was involved. I should have been contacted by eHost alone and this should have been something between us. I wish eHost could be more upfront. No one could tell me what the malware was and I was upset. I was advised to select unlimited cleaning services for $70/month. What I realized was it was $70/month for a 12 month period totaling it up to $840. I found out and I said no, I'm cancelling. I did and I do not want to do business again. Even trying to cancel the darn service was a hassle in of itself. I should not have to pay and have a third party fix something I made. I should be allowed by my hosting platform to fix it myself. Unbelievable. Never doing business again.

After 8 years of having no issues with my site, on Oct 4th I spoke to a SiteLock specialist who said they would ramp up my current service I had already paid $150 for with an upgraded version for $450 to help "remove" the malware and do continuous scans. Then surprisingly a week later, I had yet another issue where they claimed they had to do a "manual scan" to fix the malware but that they could upgrade me to their highest level of service with unlimited manual scans for another $220. I checked my credit card bill and they had overcharged another $65 "by accident"... Right!!
They are just thieves. Another week later, my websites were all frozen by their partner hosting company and Sitelock claimed my other website had malware. I found it suspicious and went to another company who said they saw nothing on my other site but that Sitelock is known for scamming. I wish I knew it before I dished out $670 which they have you sign saying you forfeit any previously paid sums as they know that eventually people will find out and they don't want to give refunds. How convenient. They scare you by saying your site is being attacked and work with 2nd rate web hosting companies that shut down your site and direct you Sitelock as the only way to get it up and running. They are horrible!!! Stay away!

My host Netregistry could or would not correct an error with the FTP which was preventing SiteLock to scan. I had a hosting account with 12 domains that got infected with 694 malware items. SiteLock removed them and got my domains running ahead of their initial time estimate. Asked to have my subscription paused due to budgeting problems. I would again activate once I get my financials straightened up, however Chad gave me a deal that I could still avail the Sitelock security features without letting my subscription end. And that was too good to pass. I appreciate the concern he did raise regarding firewall activity on my site. I don't necessarily understand why SiteLock has gotten such terrible reviews, because my experience has been great. Whenever I didn't understand something, I called and usually got an immediate response. My account manager was amazing, and treated me like a real human being than just a number on the charts. If you can Id recommend asking for Chad, he's great. Having some technological experience I can say that it was reassuring when I asked questions and they were able to answer intelligently and explain the reasoning/process behind some things. I would definitely recommend to a friend or anyone with a website that is rising up the ranks. I am still in the beginning phase, but if I pick up speed SiteLock will definitely be my first choice for my website security.

Original Issue: Websites displayed a blank screen. The problem originated from, and concluded with, my web host provider, iPage, who changed its shared hosting IP address. IPage's IP change caused my websites to display a blank screen and then an internal error message. SiteLock's representative Mr. Tyrell ** diligently and politely assisted me in resolving iPage's issue, which was unbeknownst to me prior to communicating with Mr. **. Absent his excellence assistance, I would have been seemingly forced to discontinue SiteLock's security services. Mr. ** stood by me when dealing with iPage. I cannot really explain further details because, quite frankly, I just don't fully understand what occurred except for iPage's IP address change. What I can say for certain is this: Again, but for Mr. ** diligent and polite assistance, I would no longer have SiteLock as my website security provider. Thank you again, Tyrell.

I have had my ups & downs with getting information from my Web Hosting company as to how to protect my website from hacking & malicious virus like malware. Your Web-hosting company may not explain to you that it is your responsibility to protect your website & you won't find that out yourself until your website is taken down & quarantined. Then you will find out it is your responsibility to protect it & Sitelock gets introduced to the picture as your line of defense to these bad people trying to make your life miserable with malware issues. If you are lucky enough to be passed along to a Customer Service person such as Ms. Richelle Eckert of Sitelock, you will get a nice & thorough introduction to Sitelock & ALL they do.
I received a very comprehensive review of the services I receive for the small monthly fee I am charged. At first I was frustrated & not very nice, but by the end of the conversation I was calm & at ease & a lot more informed. So, before you jump to conclusions about both your Web-hosting company or your Website security vendor, understand who does & doesn't do what. It will help you to get to the correct company to voice your frustration & receive corrective action. I got lucky yesterday in meeting via phone Ms. Richelle.

I was most impressed by response time! I replied to a Sitelock email notification that there was malware on my site. Within a couple of minutes (might be less than 1 min) I had a Sitelock rep calling me... color me impressed! Everyone I dealt with at the company was fantastic to interact with. Courteous, personable, and exceptionally helpful.
The only (short-term) qualm I had... turned out there was no malware on my website and I had ended up purchasing Sitelock because the "you have malware" notification. Not the end of the world; after thinking it over I realized the service is something I most likely wanted anyway so I'm happy to pay for it. Just, the situation leading up to the purchase left a bad taste in my mouth (very temporarily). Anyhow, I am happy to know that if I ever need assistance your teams are quick to respond, happy to help, and easy to talk to along the way.

We were experiencing about 10-50 Russian bot "customers" signing up on our website daily. Daily, we had to go into our website admin and delete these non-customers. We had tried all we knew to shut it down, to no avail. SiteLock managed to stop them all in a few days time.

Whenever I have called the situation has been resolved, the people have been willing to listen and know what they should do to resolve the issue. Wish I could pay in Canadian funds instead of us, that would be great.

Whitney was very professional and knowledgeable. Left feeling that she looked into all facets of what I was paying for, what was working and what was not working. She educated me enough to feel confident that although my email updates seemed to suggest that some features were not working, they were, but an issue on getting the correct data to me. I had payment history questions and needed a refresher on what some of the products scans - features were doing for me. Very well done. She is a keeper!

Having a personal account manager is an extremely good idea, especially in these days of talking to a computer - thank you for sorting this SiteLock. As I said, a bit pat on the back for Brian - our work in Guatemala, Honduras, Ecuador and Perú is essential and our website is our portal, not just for us, through the communities we work with in Latin America - cheers.

The folks at SiteLock, especially Brian, were very helpful in explaining exactly what their service does and why in an easy-to-understand way. We signed up after our site was hacked (worse than we knew) and they cleaned it up and a year later gave great advice on next steps for future safety of our site. We are very happy with our results and the customer service!

While it was a problem to start, Justin, Dan and Devon set me straight. It is not often you speak to employees of ANY company that are articulate, knowledgeable and professional. They made my problem become theirs. In essence, they took ownership of situation. I will be a returning customer for ALL my security needs.

Devin went above and beyond with customer service. While speaking with him I noticed that our website went down again after talking with Go Daddy. He's offered to get us up and running again. Wish you guys could provide the services Go Daddy does. I'd switch in a heartbeat!

I was alerted my credit card had not gone through for payment on the account. Tyrell called me on the phone, and we were able to resolve the issue quickly. I changed the payment to another account, and the payment went through immediately, preventing our website from being taken down.

We've had several challenges at work, including credit card identity theft, so it was imperative that I get our account updated with current information to prevent any problems with our account. I spoke to Chad ** who was very responsive and was able to get our account updated with current credit card info, as well as change the email address and send me a link to change the password to our account. Within minutes our account was back online and ready to go. It was a very good experience, and it took only 10 minutes to get set up. Great job Chad!!! Thank You.

He was also very personable and friendly which is so refreshing at a time when friendly, helpful customer service is waning.
