I take my 2004 infiniti G-35 Coupe for a knocking noise coming from the engine area. I was issued a loner car for several hours and later that day I was called from the service dept. stating that my car is going to need a new engine but I needed to drop the loner car back until infiniti manufacture could authorize the repairs. it's been 2 weeks now and still nothing from them. I'm also having brakes noises. but this the worst customer servic yet I have gotten. they are very arguementative and dont like resolving the issues.

Just went in for the 40,000km (25000miles) and my brakes are at 5%They said I need 2 new front rotors, 2 machined back rotors, 4 new pads. Total estimated cost of $1,200+taxes. This is NOT NORMAL! On top of that they told me that every time I start the car I should MANUALLY TURN OFF the VDC. They say they are regularly seeing the VDC cars with heavy wear. As VDC is part of the car and brakes are condidered normal wear and tear it is not a warranty piece. According to the dealer the early wear issues were ONLY for the 2003 and 2004 and they are not going to assist in any way. The were nice and agreed that spending $700 on breaks every year is excessive, but there is nothing they can do other than telling consumers to turn off VDC. Of course wouldn't turning off VDC make the car less safe - no comment? The fact that 2005's are burning through 100% of there brakes and rotors in just 25,000 miles versus the 03'04 recall is just a coincidence!

I purchased one of the first G35 sedans in 2003. I paid almost $40,000.00 for the car because I thought it was a quality car. The BRAKES have been a nightmare. Today I had the car towed to the dealer because suddenly, there was a loud scraping noise.
The front rotors are gone again and the car was just at the dealers in January. I contacted the consumer department to find out why, since Infiniti is aware of the brake problem, they just would not recall and replace the brake system? I was informed that recalls are only made when there is a safety issue. What about the consumer?
Replacing brakes and/or rotors every 3 or so months is much too expensive! Another dissapointing problem which I have is the leather in the car. It has cracked and is torn in several places! I mentioned it when taking my car in for service, however, all they could do was recommend an Upholstery shop. I truly believe that the leather is inferior. Maybe not in all Infinitis, but certainly in this one. All of the cars which I have had in the past had leather interior, and none of them deteriorated the way this one has. It is really embarrasing.
I have been trying to locate the Upholstery place recommended by infiniti because I want someone who has worked on infinitis, however, at this point, I have lost my respect for infiniti and wonder if their recommendations are any good. If there is a class action suit regarding these matters, I would like to look into becoming a part of it.

I bought this 2003 car brand new in May 2002 and I just love it but U can't tell me it wasn't the 1st car off of the assembly line or assembled on a pay day. I currently have 44,500 miles on the car and needless to say I have replaced my front brakes and rotors 3x, back brakes 1x - what kind of crap is this!!! U take your car for an oil change and get a phone call that your front brakes and rotors need to be replaced.
I have had this car for almost 5 years, with very low mileage and to be told every 15k miles that you need new brakes and rotors because you drive in the city is a load...I also have experienced the creaks and squeaks inside the cabin as well.
The squeal when you back up, well that was fixed when I complained about it to the dealer. I have had so many recalls on this vehicle that it will be a brand new car before it is all over with. I have never received any sort of adjustment or refund for brake and rotor replacements before 36K miles. It must have been the best kept secret around. Nissan needs to do right by it's customers - I will never recommend or by another Infiniti until they own up to the problem and fix it.

My wife and I own a 2003 Infiniti G35 sport coupe. This car has had constant issues with brake squeal. We have replaced the front and back pads several times. In the beginning, they would squeal mostly when braking in reverse. Now they squeal both in forward and reverse. Infiniti won't recognize that they have a problem to deal with (they never do). Let's face it, this isn't a $10,000 kia, it's a $40,000 luxury car. We shouldn't have to deal with these problems, or the attitude of take it or leave it that Infiniti is shelling out.

I am leasing a 2005 Infiniti FX35. A bad smell was coming from the vents in 9/2006 and the Dealership told me Infiniti has a flaw in the design of the Cooling System, it is closed therefore the water does not drain and sits in the evaporator and causes bacteria that creates the odor. I was told nothing could be done other than spraying A/C Odor disinfectant.
This was done twice including the last time 2/2007.The problem did not go away so I had my vehicle tested by an air quality company and the results showed Legionella and Cladosporium which both can cause resiratory and other health risks. Both are OSHA designated molds. My Family Doctor told me I should not drive the vehicle. I told my Dealer he simply said Email me the results and we will get you out of that car I sent an email along with the test results.

My 2002 G20(52,000 miles) was damaged under Niello Infiniti's care (3-29-06/4-10-06)The clutch was burned so badly, that after another Infiniti dealership inspected/replaced the clutch and cleaned out the housing, the distinct burned smell lasted for weeks. My complaint was never taken seriously as I was not the original owner. My G20 was inspected several times over the course of my unusually long Niello service period, and it was later discovered that a former employee took my car home over the last weekend before my car was returned to me...at which time I noticed the smell after I drove my car 8 miles home.
My G20's clutch was abused. For the heat damage (that is documented), one would have had to race the engine and ride the clutch for quite some time. The expense to repair my G20 was 1,704.89.

I have a '99 G20 Infiniti, which I bought new and I have loved. Except it only has 65000 miles on it - and my brakes need to be replaced AGAIN. This is either the 5th or 6th time which is ridiculous. Managers at the dealership tried to blame my driving skills on it b/c I am a female. Very wrong! I know all about not riding brakes and conservation especially with this car. They never admit to it being a problem with this car - which I am glad to see I am not the only one. No one else has had to replace brake pads or rotors as often as me.

Bought a new 2005 G35 and after about 2000 miles, the brakes started to squeak only when a small amount of pressure is added. Every time I have an oil change I now have them clean out the brakes, lube etc which does help for a very short time but then the squeak is back. At my last oil change (About 2 months ago @ 12,500 miles) they wrote on the repair receipt that Infiniti is aware of the problem but now solution has been finalized. I have a friend that bought the same car 1 month earlier and he also has the same problem.
So add us to the site for this complaint. It may appear that this is a small problem but when you hear that squeak EVERY TIME you press the brakes, It not a small problem. I thought about trading the car in or selling it but at this point I would loose so much money it's not worth the trade right now. 1 more year I figure and off it goes. Plus when people ask me about how I like the car I tell them the truth. Comfortable car but if your don't like brakes sqeaking don't buy one.!!

I was driving with a friend of mine in a 2005 Inifiniti G35 coupe. We were making a right turn to merge onto a 3-lane-wide road, when a rabbit decided that it could run across the street coming from the left side rather than wait. Just so happens that I accidentally hit a bunny on the exact turn just about a year ago. In any case, I swerved around the rabbit by turning right even harder and then to counter that, I turned left. Well the car didn't enjoy it and we ended up pulling a very quick 180. We skidded across 3 lanes and hit the north/south bound street divider (you know, those triangular-based road dividers) backwards and at a diagonal. To make this clearer, we did more than a 180-instant U-turn. It was more like a 210-instant U-turn. The car wasn't movable after the fact and we called the police and so on and so on.
Well the initial part of the car that hit the wall was the rear-passenger side's tire and the chassis that surrounds the tire. How did the tire get hit hard enough to completely break the suspension? There are scratches along the bottom of the vehicle on the passenger side which start from the front tire and decrease in severity closer to the back tire.
I believe full heartedly that the passenger front tire's suspension gave out on me before I even hit the wall. I understand that swerving right, then left, and throwing the car into a 180 puts a lot of stress on that one particular tire, but I was driving a 2005 Infiniti G35 coupe that received its routine maintenances with only 18000 miles on the odometer. Also, going only 30 mph and doing what I did on a turn I make coming home from work all the time shouldn't make my car completely loose control.
My friend and I are not hurt, a bit sore, but nothing severe at all, which is the good news. The bad news is how I am going to go about proving this? My friend and I thought about this and because there is no official police report, we went out the next day to film the skid marks on the road and impact mark on the divider as proof. We also went to the auto-collision shop and filmed the damage to the car. This may be just a one time goof-up in manufacturing, but if its not, it could be very dangerous!
My situation could have been a lot worse, considering that the on-coming traffic was headed at us and we were immobile to get out of the way. I hope my descriptions are detailed enough. Feel free to email me if you have some advice as far as what I should do. Thanks!

I can be added to the list of people whom have complained about the brakes on their Infiniti. Mine is a 2004 G35X. After 17,000 miles I brought the car in due to the brakes squeaking and sqealing. Infiniti was all to happy to replace them under warranty. I thought that was the end of the problem, but it arose again. So at 38,000 miles I brought the vehicle in for inspection and, just like the others, I was told that it needed pads and rotors. I was not happy and was soon alerted, by my wife to this page. I printed it and brought it with me to the dealer (along with my $500+) and told the folks there that something needs to be done about this. Toyota has brakes which last over 75,000 miles. No one is going to want to buy a car which you have to invest $500 a year in new brakes. He said he would pass my message along. THIS NEEDS TO BE RECTIFIED! Not by extended warrantys, but rather quality equipment. I like the car, but I have said from the first day that it would be a better car if it was built by Toyota.

My car's brakes started speaking at 36600 miles. When I called my dealer (above) they told me no way - already past the time limit, even though I bought the care with 5000 miles on it (which can be substantiated on my purchase papers). They then told me to call the Infiniti 1-800 number to see if they would extend for me.

I have a 2003 Infiniti G35 sedan, with automatic transmission. At 20,000 miles, the front brake pads had to be replaced. I was contacted by Infiniti, and told that they recognized there was inordinate wear on the braking system, so they would reimburse any repairs that had already been made, and would extend the warranty to 36,000 miles for brakes and rotors. When I took the car in for its next service, the dealership replaced the brake pads all around (although I had pads with only a few thousand miles on them), and machined the front rotors.
Now, at 46,000 miles, the car needs new front pads and rotors, at a cost of $500. The fact that Infiniti reimbursed me for the first repair and extended the brake warranty does not negate the fact that the car has an obvious break wear problem, and this will significantly impact the cost of maintaining the car over the years. They need to retrofit the brakes on 2003 and 2004 models, as they have changed the brake system on the 2005 models.
I am faced with an immediate $500 cost, and face approximately $300 in approximately 20,000 miles, and the cycle will repeat for as long as I own the vehicle. In addition, my resale value will be impacted, I fear.

As the parking lot cleared and we were waiting for the police to arrive we saw five other I35s had been vandalized as well for the cars headlights. No other type of car had been vandalized.
Upon investigation I found out that this is a MAJOR problem with the I35s and is a problem that Infiniti is well aware of. Infiniti did not disclose to us when we purchased the vehicle that there is a serious problem with the car. The NJ State Police told us that there are several I35s a night in that parking lot alone that this happens to and that it has been going on for over a year now. Infiniti is aware of this and yet they are selling the I35s to loyal customers and denying that they know there is a problem.
On top of the cost to insurance companies and consumers Infiniti is knowingly putting their customers in a dangerous situation. If Ford will recall over a million cars because of a faulty door lock wouldn't you think Infiniti would want to protect its customers from the dangers of this very violent situation that they are fully aware of.

I purchased a new 2004 g35. At 2,000 miles my brakes needed to be replaced.. both pads and rotors. (covered in waranty) (this is a known problem, as documented on your site) now at 4,500 miles my transmission and clutch went out. i did research online, and found a very very large amount of people with the same problem.. the experienced the same symptoms as i did with the transmission, and then they also were in need of a new transmission and clutch.
The dealer said that this is not a waranty issue, and that i need to pay 4,500 to get my car fixed. while doing research i found that about 1/2 the people were able to get the transmission covered by the waranty and the other half were not. one individual has 20,000 miles on his car and is on his FOURTH transmission, and clutch. It is obvious infiniti has a defect in both the g35 and 350z transmission. yet they are refusing to admit it. I refuse to pay 5 grand to fix a transmission on my BRAND NEW 40,000 car. does the lemon law come into effect here?

My xenon headlights have now been stolen twice in a period of two weeks (12 days of which the car was secure at Infiniti having damages fixed). I got into the lease on Seot 24, 2004. On October 15th, my car was broken into and my headlights were stolen. The thieves got into the car with little effort through the driver door handle. They then cut the electric system so the alarm never went off. The next morning the car was towed away for service. On October 29th, I got my car back from service. On the 31st in broad daylight (and with an additional alarm the service people at Infiniti recommended) the headlights were stolen again, this time without even having to open the car - in less than a minute with a crowbar.
I have had to pay my $500 auto insurance deductible twice now and fear being dropped from my insurance. I have been paying for car I can't even use b/c it spends most of its time at the dealer for service. I also had thousands of dollars of personal property stolen from my car (CDs, IPod, purses, etc) because of the lure of the headlights. AND it will happen again!

I am more concerned about avoiding this issue in the future than about recovering my deductible. Had I known that this was an issue I would not have leased this vehicle. Is there a way: 1) to get reimbursed for my costs 2) to have the manufacturer repair the problem so that it won't happen again or.... 3) to terminate the lease early under the Lemon Law so that I don't have to spend the next thirty one months worried that this will happen again?

We own a new G35 and the brakes need to be replaced at 13000 miles they tell me this is normal. I dont know about you but that is not normal from my 54 yrs of experience. I am told we will have to replace brakes every 12000 miles or so.
