I’ve just bought Mustang Ecoboost 2018 with special order. It has only 400 miles on it and there is annoying noise from front driver side. It sounds like a air flow/ leakage but since I am not a mechanic I cannot say that it is not something more serious. I took the car to FORD FAIRWAY GREENVILLE, SC since it is under warranty at the moment to fix it. Car stayed there all day. Feedback was this noise is characteristic for these cars!!! It is brand new car!!! I have driven different Mustang before buying this car at another dealer and that car had no noise like that at all! They tried to create some excuses that they contacted Ford engineer...bla...bla...bla. They even did not tape or try to make more diagnosis on the car at all.

Oh, also between sentences the service representative was always insisting me to take my car to the dealer where I purchased my car! Hey, I bought it from FORD and it is under WARRANTY. You have to act like a responsible dealer and solve my issue even though I did not buy this car from your dealer! After that I reach out to Ford Service Facebook account and explain my problem to them as well. They escalated it to service manager again in the same dealer and representative called me back. The answer was straight again that they cannot fix my problem and they again insisted me to take my car to the dealer where I bought the car. That dealer is more than 1 hour away. To be honest I am really regretful for not buying Camaro. I was between Camaro and Mustang but made the wrong choice.

Purchased my 2018 Mustang GT in December and the LCD Panel went out first week in February. Was told part was on backorder and that it would not be available until April. Was given Ford Edge loaner and was really unhappy about that given I purchased a slick Mustang GT for a reason. I have escalated this issue to Ford Exec Offices and they are yet to respond. Just want all to be aware of this issue!

We purchased our new Mustang from Hastings Ford in Greenville, NC in Nov 2017 for my Wifes Birthday. This was our fourth Mustang and we really loved the Mustang until this purchase. On Dec 13th 2017 my Wife was driving in a 20 MPH zone and made a right turn at almost a stop and the accelerator suddenly sped up on its own which caused her to go up on the curb and hit a building. The car stopped and she put it in reverse and it did it again. She finally turned the car off. We had it towed to the body shop, we checked the car mat and it did not cause the problem. The body shop took it to a local Ford dealer and they checked the computer and stated that there were no codes listed. We researched and it states that if the throttle body fails that there would be no code sent.

We contacted the dealer Hastings Ford and their comment was that no recalls were on the vehicle and that was their response. We called Ford and their response was that they hope it would not happen again. We had the car damage fixed. Over $10,000.00 for the repairs for a car that had 497 miles on it. Now we have a new car that may kill us one day but as Ford stated they hope it doesn't happen again.

2016 Mustang GT Premium currently has 40,000 miles. 1st Issue - At around 15,000 miles the stereo head unit started glitching and skipping music while connected to my son's iPhone or my iPhone either by Bluetooth or cable. My son brought it into the Santa Cruz, CA Ford dealer 4 times where they updated the software a few times and changed the entire head unit, still with no resolution.

2nd Issue - The car has a parasitic draw on the battery where my son has been stranded a few times and had to call AAA to get a jump start. He brought it in for repair at Santa Cruz, CA Ford dealer prior to the 30K warranty ending and apparently they couldn't find it. Now that we have 40,000 miles, they surprisingly found the draw. Turns out the seat heating/cooling module burned up and fused the connectors together. Ford quoted $800 to fix even though we brought it in prior to the warranty ending.

The evaporator cores of Ford Mustangs are defective. The company knows about it, but is definitely not warning consumers. While my Mustang Ecoboost is a 2016, it appears that this defect is hitting 2015-2017 models. My evaporator core started leaking shortly after my warranty expired - around the 37,000/2.5 year mark. I am now on the hook for $1.7K. Replacing the evaporator core requires tearing into the dash and putting it back together... a full day's work for 2 technicians. I was told by my dealership that they have seen many Ford cars and trucks with this problem. They knew right away what was going on... and of course never mentioned it to me during my routine service appointments. But, I digress.

Upon recommendation from my dealership, I contacted Ford's Customer Relations program and spoke to someone who was clearly not located in the United States. They opened a case to review my request for some kind of consideration for compensation since the evaporator is a defective part prevalent in the fleet and since the part most likely started leaking while still under warranty. I received a response that indicated that they closed my account without further consideration because my dealership didn't respond to their request for information. My dealership suggests they never received a request for information and confirmed that the regional Ford Customer Service rep had never been involved in my case review.

So, in summary: 1) the evaporator cores in (at least) the 2015-2017 Ford Mustangs is defective. They will start leaking slightly before 36,000 miles or slightly after that point in most cases. Recommendation-get yours checked out prior to the expiration of your warranty. 2) the Ford Customer Care case system is a do-loop. If you get a negative response to your request, call them and have them tell you why your request was denied. In my case, I have documented that Ford Motor Company customer care communication system is inadequate to transfer necessary decision-making information between Ford and dealership (best case) and/or Ford or my dealership are just lying. Make sure to document everything related to your a/c operation. Additional concern: My evaporator core is going to be replaced with another evaporator core... which is also probably not going to last very long.

I was extremely excited when I purchased my 2015 model Mustang as a birthday present to myself on June 19th, 2015 because this was my first "NEW" vehicle purchase. Here I am on a HOT SUMMER LOUISIANA DAY WITHOUT AIR CONDITIONING! I was told that the car basic warranty expired, so there's nothing that they can do about it, and I'm extremely dissatisfied! I should not have to pay to get a 2015 model vehicle air conditioning repaired! This is absolutely too early for drastic maintenance as such!

I've purchased used vehicles having almost 100K miles, over six years old and NEVER had to replaced the air conditioning! To make matters worse the service manager told me that the defect has affected more consumers, but because my air conditioning didn't break before 30K miles, I have to pay for Ford's defective part and can rent a loaner vehicle for $30.00 a day. Are you kidding me?!? This is my only source of transportation, I'm a single mother, still making $497.00 payments on a two year old model vehicle without air conditioning! It seems as if they need to do a better job protecting consumers. I was sold a lemon; this by far was a ripoff!

Ok here is my beef for the Ford Mustangs. Back in 2015 I had a Fiesta. I took it in for a oil change. Before I left a salesman had pressured me into buying a 2016 V6 Mustang. Beautiful car to say the least but a piece of ** mechanically. Here is my story. Not too long after buying the car it left me stranded on the side of the road at night all alone and scared to death. I had to have it towed into the Ford dealership. They said it was the electronic throttle body, fixed it, but I notice the AC kept surging in and out and every time it was on it would pull down the performance of the car really bad. Finally they had to replace the fan motor. Then the thing would vibrate the whole dash board and sound horrible, so just this week the car once again stranded me but this time it cut off with me in incoming traffic and almost got me in a bad wreck.

They once again fixed it and it seemed to be doing fine, but like so many others on this board, I do not feel it's fair to pay so much money for a car to have it fail on you so much. This car is a piece of crap car. Beautiful as it may look it's not a good car. I can only imagine having my grandbaby in the back seat and this thing stalls out on me and a car or truck hits me on the passenger side and harms my baby or myself. It's terrifying to think of, so I traded the piece of ** and we will see how this new one does. Still love Mustangs and always will, but some of them suck.

I am the unhappy owner of a 2010 Ford Mustang. Five weeks ago my car started cutting out/dying with no indicators or service lights sometimes while stopped and other while driving. It has currently been sitting at Plantation Ford for the last ten days. Prior to that it was in/out 4 times for the same issue. They have replaced parts. Released the car to me only to have the same issue the same day or a few days later. They have replaced the O2 Sensor, then another trip was the ERP value, which turned out to be defective. It was replaced all of this at my expense. Along with no vehicle and having to Uber to/from work. Finally, after it was determined the part was defective. It was replaced then they realize it was the PCM that was bad all along Then they agreed to put me in a rental. A few days into the rental, I was sent a text message to return the rental and pick up my car. Because the part was on backorder and wouldn't be available until August.

I called Garry, my Service Rep. and asked if they could guarantee the car wouldn't do the same thing. Answer, "NO." I asked to speak to the Service Mgr. Mark. Asked him if he could put his wife or child back on the road in this car. Never got an answer, but got a text me to stay in rental. He would see what he could do about getting the part expedited. Bring us to yesterday when I got a call to return the rental once again because their bottom line couldn't cover the rental and Corporate wouldn't assist because the age of the car. WHAT! If it is covered under Manufacturers Warranty and the car isn't safe to drive then you should provide a rental. I've reached out to Corporate and have gotten nowhere.

My take away from this Ford doesn't stand behind their cars. The bottom line is more important than consumer lives. Don't buy a #Ford #fordsucks #greed #fordmotorcompany #fordmustang #motorcity #plantationford. Ford should be ashamed of how they are running their business. Money over safety!

In December of 2011, my wife realized a life-long dream: ownership of a Ford Mustang. At the ripe old age of 57, I purchased our first (and only) brand-new vehicle - a base model V6 Mustang. This being our only brand-new vehicle ever, I was looking forward to years of reliable driving but purchased the extended service contract anyway for peace of mind. Probably the smartest thing I ever did in my life. We babied that car. Kept it garaged, polished and very well maintained. Used only premium fuel. Exceeded all the maintenance schedules/requirements. Minor issues were taken care of immediately. Drove it modestly. I'm too old to race around like a lunatic abusing the drivetrain.

Then the horror show begins. In May of 2017, the vehicle has just 28,000 miles on the odometer. We just had the oil changed, and there is a 'ticking' noise coming from under the hood. On May 17 (2 days after the oil change) we bring it in to Arrow Ford and the response is: "sounds like the compressor bearing". Oh, and btw, the belt needs replacement. A few days in the dealership for the repair. The "repair" is completed. We start to drive home and hear that same 'ticking' noise coming from under the hood. Only it's now louder and more noticeable!!!

Back to the dealership. Several days of going back and forth with the service manager, their 'senior mechanic' and the extended warranty company. Arrow Ford replaced the compressor bearing, the compressor, and "fixed the transmission". What? We were never notified of a transmission issue/fix. Further conversations with all the parties involved and the engine was torn down because it is "probably a thrust bearing". Arrow Ford has now had our Mustang for over a month, with the engine torn down for crankshaft/bearing replacement. The warranty company inspector did remark, "I've seen this before. It's an issue with this engine." (paraphrased)

On June 19, we are told that the reason for the failure is a design/engineering fault. Allegedly, the pulley belt was placing too much sideways tension on the crankshaft pulley - which destroyed the bearings. The belt is a "stretch" version, without an idler/tensioner pulley. The engine will be replaced with one that was scavenged from a wrecked Mustang. On a vehicle with only 28,000 miles on the odometer??? Seriously? IF we ever get this car back from the service department, we will now own a "Quality is Job 1" Ford Mustang with just 28,000 miles and an engine from a wreck that I will never be able to trust because it has the same design/engineering defect and an unspecified number of miles already on the engine. Will this 'replacement engine' fail within the year? Obviously, I'm not happy with Ford's "solution" for an issue that caused by a design fault. We'll be shopping for a non-Ford vehicle in the very near future.

I bought a 2015 EcoBoost Mustang Convertible - 50-year limited edition package. I special ordered my car. Waited an extra month for it, my car has been in the shop 5 times and it's not even 2 years old to me yet. So, the problem is the passenger seat belt doesn't retract and gets stuck in the door jam, last year when I brought it to their attention they changed the seat belt that worked for a month. It's now back in the shop and they say there is nothing wrong with it, just take it out of the feeder and that should stop the problem. There is also the problem that the seat belt comes across my neck and not my chest, I'm 5'3, my sister and spouse are 5'8 and they both have the same problem. I believe the problem is the feeder is too high on the seat but I'm not an engineer and Ford told me there has been no other complaints regarding the seat belt.

So, now here's the thing. If I get into an accident while the seat belt is in the feeder is there a possibility that the seat belt would cut my neck open or worse cut my head off and if I took it out of the feeder will the seat belt still work properly and save me from going through the windshield. I spoke with Ford's Corporate office today and they said do not take it out of the feeder and they are working diligently to fix this issue. But wait the dealership said there is nothing wrong with the seat belts. My question to the community is - Does or has anyone else had a problem with the seat belts in their car?

I bought my car in May 2016, and I was very happy with it, but short after the issues began. The radio has some kind glitch that you have no access of any function of the radio's panel. Again, only once I managed to bring the car to dealer when the problem was active, and they just hard reset the unit. The problem seemed to be fixed at that time, but couple days later it happened again. Since then I could never take the car to dealer and reciprocate the problem, so they say "nothing is wrong with it". Again, until today I still have the same issue with the unit. Now, the car has been in service 6 times and only has 16000 miles on it. Now to add to all this nonsense, the trunk lid was touching the passenger taillight and scratching the trunk's inside lid. I brought the car to dealership around August 2016 to be fixed. Now, June 2017 it is doing the exactly same thing. So, I guess wasn't really fixed.

I love the way the car looks, but the quality of the car is horrible. The inside is gorgeous, but again no quality. I feel really angry when I look back, and I see that I spent 27 thousand dollar and change in a car that wasn't worth 10 thousand. Now the quicker in all this is, Ford doesn't allowed loaner anymore on warranty issues, so if you have any problem with your brand new car the customer needs to pay for his rental car, or that owner will be on his feet on the way home.

Please, they should be giving us plenty of apologies, and also making sure that we were taken care, since they sold us a faulty car. I am very disappointed, and I am sure this was my last Ford vehicle. I do tell all my friends, and their friends, and anyone that ask about my car the disappointment it becomes to me. Even though it hurts my ego saying that, but I just don't want to see anyone else be in my position.

For anyone contemplating on purchasing a Ford Mustang, or any other Ford vehicle, I highly recommend you search other options first. I purchased a BRAND NEW Ford Mustang about two months ago, 1,500 miles in and nothing but issues. I have taken the car to the dealer I purchased it at and they act like it is a joke and couldn't care less about me or my brand new pile of junk. I have taken this car in to three different Ford dealers, explained the transmission issues, and they claim they will try to fix it but have yet to find a solution. The car makes crazy noises going from park to drive, park to reverse, drive to reverse and reverse to drive. To make things worse, on the highway the car will be unresponsive to the throttle, I can floor it and it will not pick up speed.

After taking it in and having them work on it, my car now has an odd smell like fireworks or something may be burning. The transmission also gets stuck when trying to change gears and is a pain in the butt. All I want is for Ford to give me a new SAFE Mustang in exchange for the defective one that they sold me, but the service I have received from all Ford dealers is a complete joke. I tried to contact Ford and they have the worst customer service, considering I just purchased a $30,000+ vehicle that is already having issues. This is ridiculous and I hope I can save someone else from this headache and scam of a company.

Found a big puddle of coolant on my garage floor underneath the engine of my 2014 Ford Mustang. The car is only 38 months old and has just under 37K. Had a local mechanic look at it thinking it may just be a leaking hose. Nope, they ran a full diagnostic and did a pressure check to find out that the water pump was leaking. They documented with photos and a report and advised me to bring it into Ford being that it would be covered under the powertrain warranty. After Ford Service looked at it they claimed there was no leak to the water pump, but advised me that the air conditioning system was leaking, which was not under warranty and would be an $800 fix. Decided to forego the air fix and just drive the piece of crap with no air for a while. Remember, just under $37K. Had to e-mail Ford the local mechanics report and photos to convince them something was wrong with the water pump. Waiting to hear back what has been done.

I have owned my Mustang EcoBoost for 2 years and I really can't complain aside from the depreciation and some hiccups with the dealer. Aesthetically the car is great. I love the look of the 50 years edition grill and the performance pack rims that match the black paint perfectly. I daily drive my car and I have taken it up and down from NorCal to SoCal twice now so it has seen some road. The car gets decent gas mileage especially for making 300ish HP. The computer does exaggerate on the gas mileage though. It says I average 27 MPG when it's really closer to 25 MPG when I do the math (again not a really big issue).

Mechanically the car has been very sound. I have about 30k miles on it and I haven't brought it to the shop outside of the typical maintenance. I have kept the car stock (except for the exhaust) to maintain my warranty. The paint could have been a little higher in quality. I have some swirling and I only do hand washing and I got the paint protector from the dealer. I do also have a black car so that is to be expected. The interior is holding up well, no signs of major wear on the leather. I do park in a parking garage most times so I could be preserving it that way. The driver's seat is aging more than the passenger seat but that is to be expected. I do have a clicking noise from my center speaker in my dash, if I pull on the speaker grill it stops the clicking noise for a while. The clicking is probably my biggest gripe with the car.

All in all the car really looks cool, is fairly quick and has been reliable thus far. If you want a car that won't break the bank on gas and insurance I recommend the car. One last note, I do wish that Ford gave more options for the V6. I preferred the sound, liked the fact that it didn't require premium to make peak horse power, basically the same gas mileage and was naturally aspirated. But, I think this is because Europe is weird about cars and tax them based on the liters of the engine, oh well.

My poor black car was totally swirl marked because of it. I know black is a pain but they ruined the paint job. All they want to do is get it buffed out. Heck no that will add more swirls. When they sold me the Cilajet they said I wouldn't have to wax it for yrs. 2 weeks later I had to buy wax. RRR. Also at 1 year the air conditioner broke & I guess they have to rip the dash off, take out front seats. They would not say it was a design flaw outright but they hinted it might be. So they said "we are looking into it." That was 5 months ago. No more emails, no more calls, no more anything. Now, they are talking about providing a loaner car (funny. they loaned me a v6 and a v4 for consecutive weekends when they wanted to sell it to me). Stay tuned for more updates. I have ZERO CONFIDENCE in a car that fails after less than 120 days of ownership. I want either a new car or a full refund.

Bought a new 2016 Ford Mustang V6 back on 9/18/2016. 26k/mi. Out the gate, I had issues with the ECM & the rev's just dropping a few hundred RPM's every 30 seconds but multiple people have told me this is normal. Personally, I don't think it should be. Then came my first gas tank fill up. Now this is an odd issue, I don't think I've seen reported anywhere else but I had to manually hold the handle for the entire fill-up. I don't know what I was thinking but I let that go on for months before having it fixed. Not sure what they did, think they replaced the throttle body and some seals to correct the pressurization issue within the gas tank. Really wasn't a big gripe because I could fill up at certain pumps without issue & I just frequented those particular pumps.

Then a month has passed and it was time for the Cilajet application. I personally made sure the car had almost no swirls in the paint before they applied it. To this day I'm not sure what I shelled out an extra $800 for because the swirls that have formed since then are heartbreaking to look at. I know it's a black car but the Cilajet has done nothing to protect the paint from swirls as advertised. I asked my dealer and they said if I had corrosion they would do something about it.

Now my car has a new issue, whenever I turn the A/C on something in the dash rev's up and just vibrates the whole bloody car. I'm taking it in tomorrow for service but after reading some of the other commentators stories I'm thinking I'll be taking this thing in every chance I get. The paint seems pretty pathetic overall too, my car is now 1yr old but it looks like my daily commute is through a sandstorm. The front end is essentially destroyed. I've already bought a random orbital and some Meguiars products to fix all the damage. I'm really not sure if it's the paint though, there is a lot of dirt in the air and dirt on the road due to construction near the 15/91 freeway interchange right now in CA.

Overall, I love the car but the issues are really scaring me. Oh, I almost forgot, sometimes the Bluetooth won't connect to your phone. Calls will be fine but media just disconnects every time you go to play something. Ford has this whole page dedicated to fixing the issue, none of which works. Somebody figured out if you disconnect the battery it'll hook up to the phone again with no issues, had to do that at least 4 times now. Where was I?

Took it to service, they took 2 days fixing the main window seals... April 15th my car was full of water again. They didn't do anything to fix it. Took it again to service and finally fix it. By May, the radio and Bluetooth stopped working. 2 more days getting serviced... Was working until now August 22nd, 2016. The radio - Bluetooth - rear view camera - stopped working. The AC unit is not working. They told me the evaporators in the new mustangs are failing and need to be replaced. Is going to take 3-4 weeks, come on.

They have this car has lots of issues, and they say nothing to their clients. And when you come to see them, because all this issues, they just act like "lucky you discovered this now because you only have 6000 miles left on your warranty." I'm in love with my car, but I guess "love hurts" a lot when comes to lemons and pieces of crap like this. Mustang 2.3 Ecoboost 2015 23.900 miles.

My cosigner got there (I put 6500 down) and then they said I didn't need one after all. Embarrassing inconvenience. Now with 6K miles, it is not driveable. Seems like me to be the electronic throttle body, which is a known problem. Dealership is backlogged 30 days before even diagnosing it. My only option were to purchase an extended warranty again spending more money.

This has been a horrible ordeal. I feel unsafe in my new car now. Who knows how long it will take the dealership to even get to it. And now I'm going to always have a bad feeling about this car since this is the only car that I've ever had to start breaking down so soon. Everyone warned me against Mustangs against Ford. We purchased our Mustang about a year and a half ago and I was in love with this car the moment I saw it. Driving this car is so much fun and the horsepower that comes with it is amazing. It's such a sleek beautiful looking car. When we purchased the car we also bought the tire warranty, which came in handy six months later.

I was driving to work and hit a rock that ended up damaging the rim and flattening the tire. At first Ford refused to honor the warranty and it was a pain in the ass to get them to take care of it. The car Sat in the shop for over two weeks because it took them forever to get the rim in stock. Our more recent issue which now the car is at 11,000 miles, the evaporator is out. Ford told us it would take a month to get the parts in to fix it because this is a nationwide issue and this is the second 2015 Mustang they have gotten this week (the other has 14,000 miles on it) that is having this problem. They told us they couldn't give us a loaner car till the parts arrived (which a month is a long time, I get it) but this isn't our fault that evaporators are going out in these cars. They said they also would not be able to help with the cost of rental car.

At this point we are just going to get rid of the car because Ford is a pain the ass to deal with and we are afraid of what other issues may happen. We have also experienced problems with the radio electronics going in and out (they said it was linked to the ac problem). The usb ports work sometimes when you try to plug your phone in and sometimes you can't change the radio station or the volume. Overall the car is beautiful and I love driving it, but with all the issues we have had with a car that's only got 11,000 miles on it we are over it. We also have a used Toyota Corolla and have had less problems in the five years we have had it than the year a half with the Mustang. Very disappointing because I planned on driving this car till it couldn't go anymore.

I've had my 2015 Eco Boost convertible for a little over year, garage kept and <9000 miles on it. I had it serviced @ 5,000 miles and will continue to do so even though the recommended service is 7500 miles. My 1st issue was the puddle lights turning a neat running "mustang" to one running in a blinding snow storm. I took it back to Ford and did replace the lights under warranty but took two trips because they were out of the R/H light. Wonder how long these will last before it starts "snowing" again?

My second issue, which has me concerned, is a "SMOKING CONDITION." I checked My Sync online and found there was an update available so wanted to update mine. I downloaded the information and took the "stick" to the car and followed the instructions which included leaving the vehicle running while the update took place (20 minutes +/-). I drove the car into the garage and left it for the night. The following day I was backing it out and was surprised to be engulfed in a cloud of blue smoke. It filled the garage and was like a large cloud in the driveway. This lasted for a minute or so and then cleared up. The next time I started the car there was more blue smoke coming out of the tail pipes but not as bad as the previous time.

I took the car to the dealer so they could run a diagnostic on it to see what had happened and do a complete inspection. They could find nothing wrong, no computer codes or any reason for the heavy blue smoke. Not the answer I was looking for. That was only one item, while the car was there they did an inspection and informed that I had tire wear on the inside of my rear tires??? I haven't been back yet but will taking it back to find out what's wrong?? Car is just over a year old, <9,000 miles and I don't hot rod this car. No reason for the tire wear and if they actually rotated the tire at 5,000 miles we are talking about severe wear in <4000 miles.

Performance-wise, the car is exceptional! However, as far as product support and customer service on the part of Ford Motor, Co. is concerned, they score an "F". As incredulous as it may sound, I have a 2016 Mustang GT with only 400 miles on it for which Ford is playing hardball on paint defects/damage on all horizontal surfaces. The issue was reported to the dealer almost immediately as it took a few days of ownership to notice the marks under the lights in my garage. As reported by the dealer, Ford has taken a rather hostile position of rejecting the initial warranty claim and has been leaning toward a possible one-time concession. So basically the deal sounds like a repair could be made as a customer "so-called courtesy" and that would be it. So if the questionable paint would peel 6 months down the road, I could forking out thousands for a paint job. So much for Quality 1! For me and mine... no more Ford products!

We purchased a 2015 Ford Mustang Convertible with an ECO boost engine from Crossroads Ford in Cary, NC on February 21, 2015. About 3 months ago, we noticed smoke coming from the exhaust on several occasions. This only seems to happen when the car is idling. We called Crossroads Ford to express our concern about this issue. Because there was a recall on the car for an unrelated issue, we took it back to the dealership and at that time, we talked to the Service Manager, Chris **, concerning the smoke coming from the exhaust.

Mr. ** stated that he had heard of the smoking issue on these cars only once before. He also stated that he wanted to personally see where the smoke was coming from. Once the recall issue had been resolved on our vehicle, it was brought back to the service dept. for my husband to pick up. The mechanic parked the car and left it idling. At that time, Mr. ** came to inform my husband that the car was ready. Mr. ** looked out in the service bay and noticed smoke billowing from underneath the car. He quickly ran out of his office towards the car, thinking it was on fire. To his surprise, he was now witnessing the smoking that we had previously discussed. We were told to drive the car back home that day. Mr. ** assured us that it was safe to drive and stated that he was going to contact Ford to see if there were any other vehicles with the same problem as ours. He said he would keep us informed.

On October 26th, I remotely started my car from my desk. By the time I got to my car in the parking lot, it was totally enveloped with blue smoke. I was terrified. I immediately got in my car and raced home, afraid that the car might catch on fire. My husband contacted Chris ** immediately about this latest smoking event and how it had terrified me. I did not want to drive the car anymore. I kept visualizing Paul Walker, the actor from Fast & Furious, being burned alive in his car as it spontaneously combusted into flames. Chris asked my husband to bring the car back in for further evaluation. He wanted his technicians to try to diagnose the problem and come up with a solution.

The car was kept in the service dept. for over a week, where it underwent several diagnostic checks, to no avail. The technicians still had no clue what was causing the car to smoke or how to remedy the situation. On Oct. 27th, the technicians at Crossroads Ford received an email from the Ford website which stated "If no concerns are found, no further diagnosis or repair attempts would be recommended at this time as engineering is aware of this concern. The condition is not detrimental to the engine or the performance."

Wednesday, Nov. 11th, we received a phone call from Shayne **, a Regional Customer Service Manager for Ford. He only seemed to be giving us a courtesy call as he reassured us that the car was safe to drive and that they were still investigating the cause of the problem as well as seeking a solution. I expressed my frustration telling him that even if he ASSUMED it was safe to drive, I did not want to drive a smoking brand new Mustang. I am not paying all this money to drive a smoking car. This is extremely embarrassing. His ridiculous solution was to TRY NOT TO LET THE CAR IDLE FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME.

My questions to him were as follows: 1) How can I predict how long I will be sitting in traffic or how long I may be in line at a drive-thru? 2) How do you know the car is safe to drive if you don't know what is causing it to smoke? 3) Why can't Ford offer to let us drive another Mustang until a solution has been found? Without reaching any happy-medium, the conversation between Mr. ** and I ended with him stating that he would forward my concerns and continue to keep us abreast on the situation. My question is if the engineers at Ford do not know what is causing the car to smoke, how can they say that it is safe to drive and that it will not adversely affect the engine or performance of my car? I am afraid to drive my car, as well as extremely embarrassed when smoke starts to barrel out the exhaust.

I'm an Air Force retiree and I live in the UK. I bought the above described car with the extended warranty (over $1000 extra) for a total of 7 years from the Army Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES). I've had a "clunk" noise somewhere in my drive train since day 1. After about 1.5 years, I discovered the paint on the front edge of my hood bubbling up. I wanted the hood replaced but I was told the corrosion had to create a hole all the way through in order for it to be replaced. I had to settle for it to be "treated" and repainted. The body repair guys did an excellent job but they told me that the problem would return because they had seen the same problem on other Mustangs AND other Ford vehicles.

I've also had corrosion problems on my mags as well. On the drive train, I had it looked at once already and was told the "clunk" was normal. HUH?? I got a second opinion on the "clunk" and was told that it was NOT normal. He stated that the play in the drive shaft was almost 5mm and the allowable limit according to Ford specs is 0.762mm. LESS THAN 1mm! NORMAL?? Don't think so. Now I'm being told that if I have it looked at by the FIRST place I took it to and they don't find anything, I'll be charged, even though it's still under the extended warranty (runs out in Feb 2016). There are many more Mustang owners that have the same "clunk" problem. So Ford, is it possible that your name actually DOES mean Fix Or Repair Daily?

Remember when the Ford slogan was "Quality is Job 1!"? Where did that go? I'm going to keep my Mustang and I'm going to pay out of my own pocket if I have to because it was my dream car after I served my country for 20 years. When I saw the first one on the cover of Mustang Magazine, I changed my mind from getting a new Dodge Challenger to the new Mustang. But I will NEVER recommend buying ANY Ford to ANYONE EVER!! It occurs when it's hot outside but I've heard it in mild weather as well. Just depends on how long it's driven. It is especially annoying around town & sounds like rubber on rubber, creaking & groaning. I have taken it to the dealer and had 3 new booster replacements: 2013, 2014 & just recently in 2015. The dealer put in the first two and I had the second one replaced while the part was still under warranty. I've spent almost $1,000 doing this and I'm convinced the booster has nothing to do with the problem.

My most recent mechanic who installed the 3rd replacement told me that the booster is all that it can be, however I found a thread at the Ford F-150 forum that suggests changing the master cylinder and brake fluid. This from a guy who had installed 2 boosters with no success. He wrote that after the MC was changed, the problem went completely away & has not returned. I plan to price the MC replacement and go through with it if I can convince my mechanic. I have found that when there is no TSB, mechanics hesitate to delve in and try to solve the problem.

This problem has been so perplexing, because the car runs well and gives me no other problems. I have done nothing but baby it… still looks new! I was just looking over the problems consumers are having with the 2015 model & it seems that not much has changed in 10 yrs. I had a lot of issues during the warranty period but got all fixed. So I bought a 2015 Mustang convertible from an Ohio dealer with 270 miles on it. The dealer swapped it from another Ohio dealer, hence the 270 miles. I developed a vibration between about 60-74 mph. It's noticeable and it doesn't encourage a feeling of safety while driving. The rearview mirror vibrates, the seats vibrate, the steering wheel vibrates. So I had the car for 5 days and it's been in the Ford shop for 5 days. Ridiculous. The dealer is trying to do the right thing and the repair manager is definitely putting in an effort to resolve the problem, but FORD THIS IS A BRAND NEW CAR! The dealer has checked the tires, Road Force balanced them... replaced the driveshaft and those didn't remove the vibration.

Now, they're replacing the rear differential. I read online that for rear-wheel drive cars, it's more common to be a U-Joint, center ball bearing or rear differential. I'm curious as to why the dealer didn't just go right to the rear differential? Maybe it's because they're so used to dealing with front-wheel drive cars. Either way, if this isn't fixed well and resolved really soon, I will never, ever buy another Ford product. This is why I've driven Toyotas for 12 years - zero issues up to 150,000 miles. 2 days old, 300 miles and the whole freaking driveline needs replaced? REALLY FORD? I bought my 2015 Mustang GT Convertible Premium and it is well above past model years. There's one MAJOR problem. The Assurelink (Visor mounted garage door opener) works without the key. The point of getting this device was to allow someone to remove the clicker remote from the car and make it more secure. People often will park their cars and someone will gain access to their home through the garage. There needs to be a recall and this needs to be fixed.

The car came standard with heated/AC seats but only the driver gets lumbar support and memory seats. I also have the collision warning system with adaptive cruise control. In heavy rain both will become disabled and won't work for some time after the rain has stopped. I'd also suggest that if you get this car that when you change your tires you get Y rated tires. The standard W rated tires don't have enough grip for what the car is capable of. Sadly most of the modifications I want to do to the car will void my warranty. Just plugging a tuner into the car voids the powertrain warranty and a cold air intake requires a tune.

I just thought it would feel a better ride then the v6 but I was wrong. That's just something I could deal with because of the mpg I read and they told me about. 22 mpg city wow was I completely wrong. I don't even get that highway and I use premium gas and I have not drove fast yet since I want to break in the engine first. Most the time cars are passing me because I try my best to drive slower so I can see what's the best mpg I can get. The best I have got was 20 but it only showed for 1 sec and I was hardly going 20mph.

The biggest complaint and why I'm truly writing is hot horrible the body work is. The front and rear bumper both are flimsy. I can touch it so soft and see it move. I was my car and am afraid to break something. When I wash the fenders they make noise like a clunk noise when pressed. If someone were to tap me my bumper would fall off and be ripped apart. Other then all that I love love love how the car looks inside and out. Hope we can get some help on this problem. This is my first brand new car ever and am proud of. I just hoped for more out of it. I loved my 2006 mustang that was solid. To break it down, I do not get even close to the mpg, and the body on my 2015 Mustang is not very solid or secure feeling.

I contacted the local Ford dealership. They said they have no responsibility for this issue. They would be happy to fix the problem at a cost of close to $1000.00. How does a well-maintained engine just let go of a spark plug?

My "certified" 2010 Mustang turned out to have been a rental car before I bought it and this was not disclosed. When I found out via Car Fax ( which I should have checked before purchasing the car) initially the dealer denied it until I threatened to report them to DMV. They settled by honoring my request for a free remote starter. The blender actuator door was repaired a few months after I bought the car in 2012. It is in need of repair again and the Extended warranty does not cover it. Dealer wont make good on it as the part is only guaranteed for one year. It will cost around $700 to be repaired. Worse yet now the passenger side carpets get flooded every time it rains. Also leaks are not covered under extended warranty. Convertible top elastic strap connected to the support lever arms frayed to the point it looked like it would snap off. Cannot be repaired. Cost of new top around $2700. Also not covered under extended warranty.

Rear window defroster connector part detached by itself. Not covered by ext. warranty either. Well the good news is I repaired the convertible top all by myself with a needle and thread. I watched some Youtube videos and plan to investigate the source of the leaks and change the cabin filter while attempting to find all the places Ford has installed plugs. Nice way to spend Fourth of July weekend and my birthday. I am not a mechanic. I am a female social worker who doesn't like to break a nail and knows nothing about cars. I just can't get an appointment now or take time off work next week to have the source of the leaks checked. So much for my "certified" Premium 2010 Mustang convertible.

Bought a 2013 certified pre-owned ford in Oct 2013. March 8, 2013 simply wetting vehicle down to wash car, the paint started to come off with strictly water with no soap or anything but water at this point. I stopped immediately and wrote Ford corp thinking it was defective paint. The next day I brought it to an authorized ford dealer so they could take pictures and document that there was no dents dings scratches etc... To show nothing on my part caused this to occur. Well shocked, the person who inspected the vehicle said it wasn't defective paint. He said the fender had been replaced /repaired and the reason the paint was coming off was due to it being repainted and a poor job was done.

Furious at this point and my day I took off work due to it being my birthday. I emailed the authorized dealer I bought it from. And told then of my surprised findings and told them there is two options. Replace the vehicle and give me what I had paid for or I would seek legal and sue. Well, they didn't even respond with bring it in so we could look at it, they basically just said sue us. Legal advice was acquired, the car was a certified pre-owned, not sold as is and had warranty, things looked good for suit. The lawyer went through the documents we signed and there is an arbitration clause.

This basically mean you are shafted. Most arbitrators who are normally retired judges/lawyers do not have to base stuff on facts and could make their own determination. In the cases which involve a car dealer, they tend to side with them. Reason being, most likely the average person will never need an arbitrator again and a car dealer will. So it is more favorable for the arbitrator to side with the dealer. Thankfully I got consultation from maybe the only honest lawyer on the planet and he didn't take $1500 to go to an arbitration just for me to lose an additional $1500 on top of a damaged vehicle. I do thank him for that and mailed him a gift card for his honesty.

Anyway, I have been going back and forth with ford motor corp. FORD motor corp has absolutely no control over their independent car dealerships, FORD certified cars are not certified by ford and a car should not be bought thinking it has been certified by ford motor corp and is misleading. Records indicated that my vehicle has no incident/accident on file. Now that does not mean nothing has happened to the vehicle prior to purchasing it. Just means it wasn't reported. But a certified vehicle goes through a vigorous inspection and would of show damage such as mine.

Certified gives you security that everything is proper even if there is no reported incident on the vehicle. That is why it is certified. To verify physical and mechanical, the car is in a great condition, in which my case wasn't. Ford motor corp has absolutely nothing to do with the certification process and does not overlook nor care if it is or not. They let the dealers just smack stickers on without inspection. They don't have control of what their independent dealers do.

Ford is a horrible company as a whole. They want you to buy their vehicles, but claim no responsibility for what their dirt merchant dealers do. And have no liability whatsoever. Very poor consumer relations by Ford motor company. Do I blame ford for the deception or that this car was repaired or that it wasn't inspected. Absolutely not, I do blame ford for not governing their authorized independent dealerships, do not allow these dealership to put your name on it, if you're not going to watch over them and make things right.

I would not recommend buying a ford ever. And would even encourage anyone who was affected by this story and had bought a different make vehicle. To right ford corp and send them the sale of your new vehicle and tell them to give people what they pay for. I am, correction was a ford lover. Owed roughly 15 fords in my 41 years. Never a problem. Ford is not just loved by me, but was a passion. And as I hate to do this, ford has disappointed me and they need to get it together. And even though the passion is gone. I am here fighting to keep my passion and will continue to do so. Passion for something is worth more than money. It's priceless. And I refuse to have it ripped from my heart and go down without a fight. Ford will make this right or I will die trying. Thank you everyone for letting me share my story.

I am the owner of a 1996 Ford Mustang GT. My mother is the owner of a 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis, and my Grandfather is the owner of a 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis. Within the last five months all three of us had to have our 4.6 liter V8 transmission rebuilt due to a fault in the design of the Torque Converter which made the transmission lock up on occasion and create a shudder when changing gears.

Luckily, the Grand Marquis owned by my mother and grandfather were still under warranty and the Ford dealership rebuilt the transmission at no charge to them, knowing that this is a common problem with Ford vechicles before 1999. My Ford Mustang just happened to be past its warranty period and I had to take my car to a transmission specialist to have it rebuilt.

I took my car to AAMCO Transmissions in Ft. Lauderdale and they diagnosed the problem as the same one the Grand Marquis has and all other Ford vechicles have. My total repair bill consists of $1,400.00 which I had to pay. After repairing my vechicle I checked on the internet to see if this is a noted problem with Ford Cars. All transmission problems point to this Toque converter problem and suggest rebuilding it. AAMCO mentioned that they get Ford vechicles day in and day out for this problem and they have records from Ford mentioning this problem.

To me this is a very serious matter that needs to be brought up because no person should have to pay and change a transmission just because of a bad design from Ford. I love Ford cars and I stand behind Ford 100% but if this problem cannot be rectified my feeling of trust in Ford will be lost.

Automan Responds: If the torque converter is bad, it should not cause the entire transmission to be rebuilt. If a converter goes bad due to an internal defect, then you just change the converter. If the problem is a control problem in the valve body then you address that too ... you do not need to R&R the whole unit unless you have been driving on it a long time and caused internal damage.

Ford probably just did a crate swap and did it under the warranty. Most transmissions go bad because of heat. Do you have a transmission cooler on your vehicles? If not, I strongly recommend one be installed by a professional to survive the heat down in Florida. I have had absolutely no known failures occur with this unit, and I have not had to research the unit because of its reliability, Fluid, filter and service is the only thing I do for my customers at 30k intervals. --

I spoke with several people at Ford who said that the engines in these vehicles are the same as the Mustang, but only front wheel drive cars are covered; the reason, which has never been explained fully, is the difference in the coolant flow in the front and rear wheel drive vehicles. The consequence is that I will be forced to pay for the repair since I can't afford to buy a car that is same condition as my low mileage car. Also, it has been extremely frustrating knowing that depsite having the same engine as the covered cars, I will have to pay a defect that Ford knew about. Each rep at Ford's customer service has said that there have been complaints about the rear wheel drive, but fewer than for the front wheel drive; I would venture a guess that the conditions for settling the class action suit were determined more by demographics than drivetrain (Mustangs/T-Bird ownwers vs. Taurus/Sable/Windstar owners.

Most of the miles have been long-distance travelling or commuting to work down I95 (a 45 minute to 1 hour drive each way). In March 1999 the heater stopped working, and white smoke appeared from the tailpipe while I was on my way to work on I95. I had the vehicle towed and repaired at my own expense - the head gasket was blown and the repair bill was over $1500. Because the milage was at 75,000 miles, I was not covered by the (previous) warranty extension. Worse, days after I had my car "repaired", the engine self-destructed apparently because coolant had mixed with the oil. I had to replace the short block at a cost of nearly $3000. I couldn't afford a new car, and was forced to spend the extra money to fix the damaged engine. I won't buy another Ford - how can I trust that they will not sell me another problem vehicle and leave me stranded when it breaks because of some design flaw? I suspect they knew the failures were most likely to occur after 60,000 miles, and figured most people would not question the validity of the warranty extension. My engine was ruined and replaced by Ford warranty. 16,000 miles later the gasket blew again costing me $934.27 out of pocket in repairs. If there isn't a problem with their gaskets in the 3.8L Ford rear wheel drive. PROVE IT TO ME!! My car has less than 50,000 miles on it. I am tired of being treated like a fool by Ford. I am tired of Ford "Customer Service" not giving me to a person who knows something. I am tired of giving Ford my money for a problem that is theirs to begin with. I want them to pay up!

We have a 1995 Ford Mustang with a 3.8L engine with 76,393 miles. It has a blown headgasket. The current estimated costs are between $1200 and $1500 but they have not determined if the engine block is OK. If not, then the damages will be substantially more.

A head gasket blew on my 1995 Ford Mustang in November of '99. At first I didn't think anything about it but when I mentioned it to a co-worker who had the exact same car as I did, I found out that her head gasket had blown six months earlier. That got me wondering, so I got on the Internet to see what I could find out. I found the "Class Action Lawsuit Against Ford 3.8 liter 95 Windstar". Again, I think it is very odd because I have the same engine with the exact same problem. The mechanic I went to told me he had replaced six of these in a three-month period for my exact car. Something is fishy here. I have spent over $1200 getting it fixed.

My '94 Ford Mustang blew a head gasket, a common problem from what I've heard. I'm upset over the very expensive repair because I feel Ford had the responsibility to warn me of this problem with their 3.8L engines. Consequently, I lost time at work because I was stranded out of town and my parents lost work letting me use their car so I could return home for school. Not to mention the expensive cost of the repair.

Recently I have been reading about the lawsuit and extended warranty Ford is offering on the Windstars, Taurus, Continentals and Sables. When I ordered my 94 Mustang I was told there was a delay in receiving it because Mustangs used the same motors that the Windstars did and both vehicles were in demand that year. My Mustang engine is a 3.8 V6 also and I just had to have the head gaskets replaced. Should 94 Mustangs be included in the extended warranty? I have invested approximately $1400 in my Mustang due to the head gaskets and at this time I am still unable to drive it due to a leak somewhere.
