Fair Warranty provides auto protection plans with no hidden fees. It offers three different plans, ranging from powertrain to exclusionary coverage, that you can cancel anytime. Policies include 24/7 roadside assistance and discounts on maintenance and repairs. You can get a free quote online by visiting the company’s website and entering your vehicle information.

Pros

Cons

  • Can be pricey to cover older vehicles

Fair Warranty coverage and plans

Fair Warranty offers a variety of coverage options to fit your needs. Policies range from one year and 10 years, with coverage up to 150,000 miles.

Fair Warranty offers three plans:

  • Powertrain: The Powertrain policy is the least expensive option. It covers the internally lubricated parts of the engine, transmission, transfer case and drive axles. It also covers the repair and replacement costs of other major parts, such as the timing belt, water pump and fuel pump.
  • Standard: The Standard plan covers everything in the Powertrain policy and more, like the alternator, heating and air conditioning system, power steering and brakes.
  • Premium: The Premium plan is Fair Warranty’s comprehensive plan. While it’s the company’s most expensive plan, it covers most repairs except those expressly excluded.

How does Fair Warranty work?

You can sign up for a Fair Warranty plan by calling the company or visiting its website. When you request a free quote, the company will provide pricing details for its three plans. You can also view a warranty contract sample. There is a 30-day and 1,000-mile waiting period before coverage starts.

Submitting claims is easy and can be completed online in minutes. However, you’ll need prior authorization from Fair Warranty before your plan will cover car repair costs. Your mechanic must provide a written estimate with an itemized list of parts costs and labor rates, which you’ll file with your claims request. If your repairs are covered and approved, you’ll pay the deductible and Fair Warranty will pay your mechanic directly.

Fair Warranty cost

Fair Warranty states on its website that prices start at $29.99 a month. Costs will vary depending on the make, model, year and mileage of your vehicle, as well as the state you live in. You can visit the company’s website to get a free quote, including plan pricing and details.

Fair Warranty provides a 30-day money-back guarantee, meaning you’ll receive a full refund if you cancel within 30 days of signing up and haven’t filed a claim.

The company promises price transparency, so any fees it charges are outlined in the warranty contract. It’s important to read over this document before signing up for a policy.

I'm a researcher kind of guy. And this website of a father and son team gave me some really good information and I was able to use it. They give you tips on how to get the best deal for your car or whatever you want to buy. So I used some of their tactics and did the research. They talked highly about Fair Warranty and they helped me get a good deal on my truck. I'm new to this area, so it worked out.

I bought my truck and had 20,000-some miles on it and they only can warranty it to 80,000-some miles. There's an option between years of service, one and three, and I opted for the three because it was cheaper. But the signing process was fairly easy.

I told my daughter about it and she's gonna stick with her thing. And they're the same coverage that you get from the dealership. Normally, I buy newer cars and I don't worry about warranties.

    Thanks for your vote!

Thanks so much for taking the time to share your experience—and for trusting us with your truck. We’re glad you found us through that father-son car-buying site (they’re sharp) and used those tips to make a smart move.

We hear you on the enrollment process. We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to make things smoother, and feedback like yours helps us keep improving. That said, we’re thrilled our team could step in and make the experience easier over the phone.

Going with the 3-year plan to lock in savings was a great call. We designed our coverage to give folks like you—who do the homework and care about their vehicles—an affordable alternative to the dealer, without cutting corners on protection.

I had never had a warranty on any of my vehicles, so I was skeptical at first. I called around and compared other services. The offers were similar, with only small price differences. In the end, Fair Warranty felt like the best option.

The coverage is great. Since this is my first time, I’ll only know the real value once I use it. I’m paying about $3,000 for the whole plan. If even one repair costs that much, then it will be worth it.

The customer service was super helpful and transparent. They followed up with me several times, and I told them I was checking their competitors. They matched the price, and that’s when I felt Fair Warranty genuinely wanted my business. They did a great job.

Fair Warranty has probably the lowest price, and from what I believe to be a reputable company. I was looking for peace of mind, that’s why I acquired an auto warranty. The sign up process was good and easy, and the representative was efficient. They sent me an email. I just need to wait 30 days before using it. The hard part is that I don't know if I got what I think I got until I try to use it.

Appreciate the honest take—and you’re absolutely right.

Signing up should feel smooth, and coverage should feel clear. That’s our goal every time. As you mentioned, the real test of any warranty is when you need it—and we’re building Fair to deliver in those moments, not just at checkout.

The 30-day waiting period is standard across the industry, but we know it’s something folks should be aware of up front—and we’ll keep finding ways to make every part of the experience more transparent.

Thanks for choosing Fair. We’re here when you need us.

I got recommended to Fair Warranty by CarEdge. I've got stuff from them through their channel, and they're trustworthy. That partnership helped me because I didn’t really know any of the other warranties besides what you see on TV. The warranty is the same as the one from Toyota, which is what I was looking for in the first place. Noah helped me with it, discussed all the ins and outs, and was able to offer me a very good deal on the price. They’re definitely blowing the competition out of the water when it comes to pricing while offering the same or better warranty that the other guys do.

That’s the kind of feedback that fires us up.

You did your homework. You trusted CarEdge. And you found your way to Fair—not because of some flashy ad, but because you wanted real coverage at a fair price. That’s exactly why we built this.

Huge shoutout to Noah for bringing it home. We believe in earning trust the old-fashioned way: with clarity, value, and showing up when it counts. When the time comes to use the coverage, we’ll be ready.

Appreciate you being part of the Fair story.

My manufacturer’s warranty expired, so I shopped around, and Fair Warranty seemed to have the best coverage and the best price. The sales rep was fine. He did what he was supposed to do and sold the policy. So far, everything is good.

My only hesitation is when I eventually have a claim and they say they don’t cover this or that. In other words, they don’t want to pay a claim. They sent me a copy of the contract, but that’s actually what scared me because there’s 68 pages to it. The Constitution of the United States is only five pages, and here, the Fair Warranty got 68 pages. It’s insane. I wonder what they are going to come up with when it comes time for a claim.

      Response from Fair Warranty

Really appreciate you taking the time to share this—and we hear you loud and clear.

You’re right: a 68-page contract feels heavy. The good news? We’re already working on tightening it up. A big chunk of those pages are state-by-state refund policies that we’re required to include, but we know it can be overwhelming. Simplifying that experience is a top priority.

As for repairs—we’ve got you covered. You can go to any certified mechanic nationwide, including your dealer. If they’re not familiar with us yet, we’ll work with them directly to make sure it’s seamless.

Thanks again for the thoughtful feedback. We’re building Fair to earn trust, not just at sign-up—but especially when it matters most.

I don't like fixing vehicles ever. I don't wanna have to worry about it. And I heard about Fair from CarEdge, the YouTube guys. Their representative was top-notch. They did some research for me and sent me some screenshots, which were helpful. I got it for a truck and have had it for four years now. So far, they've been great. I've not had to use them yet, but so far, they've been great.

I got my first warranty through Fair Warranty, not even a week. I had gotten a different type of warranty through CarEdge. I thought it was the same warranty company, but that's when I was told they had switched over to this Fair Warranty one. The customer service was great. It's a pretty straightforward, really easy process. It seems actually easier than the last time I bought a warranty from CarEdge. I would recommend it.
