Fair Warranty coverage and plans

Fair Warranty offers a variety of coverage options to fit your needs. Policies range from one year and 10 years, with coverage up to 150,000 miles.

Fair Warranty offers three plans:

  • Powertrain: The Powertrain policy is the least expensive option. It covers the internally lubricated parts of the engine, transmission, transfer case and drive axles. It also covers the repair and replacement costs of other major parts, such as the timing belt, water pump and fuel pump.
  • Standard: The Standard plan covers everything in the Powertrain policy and more, like the alternator, heating and air conditioning system, power steering and brakes.
  • Premium: The Premium plan is Fair Warranty’s comprehensive plan. While it’s the company’s most expensive plan, it covers most repairs except those expressly excluded.

How does Fair Warranty work?

You can sign up for a Fair Warranty plan by calling the company or visiting its website. When you request a free quote, the company will provide pricing details for its three plans. You can also view a warranty contract sample. There is a 30-day and 1,000-mile waiting period before coverage starts.

Submitting claims is easy and can be completed online in minutes. However, you’ll need prior authorization from Fair Warranty before your plan will cover car repair costs. Your mechanic must provide a written estimate with an itemized list of parts costs and labor rates, which you’ll file with your claims request. If your repairs are covered and approved, you’ll pay the deductible and Fair Warranty will pay your mechanic directly.

Fair Warranty cost

Fair Warranty states on its website that prices start at $29.99 a month. Costs will vary depending on the make, model, year and mileage of your vehicle, as well as the state you live in. You can visit the company’s website to get a free quote, including plan pricing and details.

Fair Warranty provides a 30-day money-back guarantee, meaning you’ll receive a full refund if you cancel within 30 days of signing up and haven’t filed a claim.

The company promises price transparency, so any fees it charges are outlined in the warranty contract. It’s important to read over this document before signing up for a policy.

Fair Warranty was in this website of a father and son team known for their car-buying tips. They give tips on how to get the best deal for your car or whatever you want to buy. I used some of their tactics, did the research and it worked out. The enrollment process was a bit cumbersome for me, as I initially found it hard to navigate. However, I called in because this website that I found talked highly about them and they helped me get a good deal on my truck.

I decided on Fair Warranty not only for their solid reputation but also due to my personal circumstances—I'm new to this area and have always had warranties for my new cars. There's an option between years of service, one and three, and I opted for the three because it was cheaper. But the signing process was easy. While they've limited the warranty coverage based on the mileage (up to 80,000 miles for my truck that initially had 20,000 miles), the plan was well worth it as it was cheaper compared to dealer offers but had the same coverage. Fair Warranty is an option. It was an easy process.

Thanks so much for taking the time to share your experience—and for trusting us with your truck. We’re glad you found us through that father-son car-buying site (they’re sharp) and used those tips to make a smart move.

We hear you on the enrollment process. We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to make things smoother, and feedback like yours helps us keep improving. That said, we’re thrilled our team could step in and make the experience easier over the phone.

Going with the 3-year plan to lock in savings was a great call. We designed our coverage to give folks like you—who do the homework and care about their vehicles—an affordable alternative to the dealer, without cutting corners on protection.

Fair Warranty seemed to offer the most comprehensive coverage at an attractive price. Having shopped around, it was apparent that they stood out compared to other warranty providers, aligning well with what I sought for my vehicle. However, one of my reservations revolves around the claim process. I've heard stories about how insurance companies are often hesitant to cover claims fully, which brings some caution to my decision.

While I haven't used their services yet, one instance that gave me pause was receiving a hefty 68-page contract. It’s quite daunting, especially when contrasting it with something like the United States Constitution, which is just 5 pages. This substantiated my nerves about the potential for numerous exceptions in policy coverage.

Moreover, my concern extends to where I can have my car serviced. If my regular dealer doesn’t accept Fair Warranty, I wonder if they provide a list of local mechanics who can perform warranty work. That would indeed ease my mind significantly. On a brighter note, the sales representative was very efficient. He did a commendable job facilitating the purchase without any hitches.

      Response from Fair Warranty

Really appreciate you taking the time to share this—and we hear you loud and clear.

You’re right: a 68-page contract feels heavy. The good news? We’re already working on tightening it up. A big chunk of those pages are state-by-state refund policies that we’re required to include, but we know it can be overwhelming. Simplifying that experience is a top priority.

As for repairs—we’ve got you covered. You can go to any certified mechanic nationwide, including your dealer. If they’re not familiar with us yet, we’ll work with them directly to make sure it’s seamless.

Thanks again for the thoughtful feedback. We’re building Fair to earn trust, not just at sign-up—but especially when it matters most.

I wanted to protect my vehicle. The car already has a factory warranty, but I wanted something that went past the factory. I encountered Fair Warranty through a website called CarEdge, which I discovered via their engaging YouTube channel run by a father-son duo. They share a wealth of information on car buying and pointed me toward Fair Warranty's services. The sign-up process was straightforward; I filled out some info online, got a quote promptly, and paid for it without a hitch.

One of the standout aspects of Fair Warranty is their pricing. Compared to other warranties offered at dealerships that can cost thousands, Fair Warranty offers a more economical option without the excessive fees that usually accompany such purchases. In terms of customer service, their team was incredibly helpful. I enjoyed being able to discuss the plan in detail without the pressure of pushy sales tactics. They patiently answered all my queries, ensuring that I was making an informed decision.

I bought a new car, and because of my positive past experiences with warranties, an auto warranty was worth it. Initially, someone from Fair Warranty called me by accident, which led me to learn about them. I later discovered they were affiliated with CarEdge, the website I was using extensively to search for and guide my car buying process. This familiarity gave me confidence in their offering.

I initially signed up with a different warranty company but took advantage of a 30-day cancellation policy to do more research. I found that Fair Warranty's coverage was more extensive, with fewer exclusions, and the pricing was very competitive. Therefore, switching over made sense to me.

The sign-up process was smooth and straightforward—something I managed through the web without any issues. Regarding the value, although it's a costly venture, I rate the pricing a solid 4 out of 5, as you always want more bang for your buck. Coverage-wise, it's quite comprehensive, exactly what I needed to feel secure about my purchase.

Overall, I'd rate my experience a 5 out of 5.

Acquiring an extended warranty is something I'm particular about, especially with pre-owned cars, and I picked Fair Warranty. I first heard about it through CarEdge while looking for a warranty for my recently purchased used vehicle.

Initially, I considered two companies in total before making my decision, but Fair Warranty's coverage and cost were the crucial deciding factors. The sign-up experience was quite positive even though my main computer had some issues. I used a tablet instead, which made navigating some of the steps a bit tricky. Fortunately, the representatives from Fair Warranty were helpful and they went out of their way to help make sure everything flowed for me.

The program details, such as its start—one month post-purchase and 1,000 miles driven—and the five-year coverage, were well explained and reinforced what I'd learned from CarEdge. Setting up payments was straightforward, utilizing a direct online payment method through the website.

The customer service I received was exceptional, with the representatives demonstrating extensive knowledge of the program. The overall signup experience was very satisfying. I'd confidently recommend Fair Warranty to friends and family, and I do plan on using them again in the future. It's important when it comes to handling the cost of repairs on a used vehicle.
