I bought my 2010 car new. In 2013 my troubles began. Car stalls below 25 mph, engine light comes on, won't start randomly. Have had it serviced numerous times. No "code" registers. Chrysler says they don't have time to drive my car around to make it stall and they can't fix a problem they don't see. I'll never buy another Chrysler!

We have had to replace our transmissions 6 times. 3 were at the dealership we bought it from and they gave up before we even got the car back- they kept breaking (reconditioned). The next two were at the dealership for Chrysler and they went through another one before demanding a new one. We got a new one, and it broke again within 1 year. We are now leary about this one, as it sometimes will not go into park all the way, and today, the key is having issues releasing when parked. Weird lights are coming on and my mileage and temperature indicators are staying on after the car is off. Had new shocks put in and they lasted only a few months. Fobs broke right after we got them. Had them fixed twice. Now just leave our car unlocked. The buttons on the doors for locking work only on one side when it feels like it.
We had a Dodge before and will never do that again because of the brake issues over and over. This one is no better. Replaced the brakes a year or so ago, and issues again now. We would get another one and get rid of this, but our last one, a freestar, died on the road and we had no coverage for transmission and traded it in with the rest of our loan. It is now well over 100,000 miles and we certainly cannot afford another $100 a month to swallow this loan again on another one. I am angry at the poor construction of this van and the general lack of dependability of the brand.

Van runs excellent except when heats up then stall continues to restart but will keep stalling. Spent over 2000.00 dollars on parts and labor and still stalling with no results. Keep getting a crank sensor code even though it's been changed 4 times.

On the way back from Jacksonville, Illinois, my 2008 Chrysler van started to rev really high but would not accelerate ... I had to have it towed 100 miles from Bloomington Illinois to the dealer in Shorewood, Illinois ... At the dealership, I was informed two days later that the problem involved the transmission but that I had had my warranty coverage to the powertrain suspended because I had not brought in my van for a five-year check up as required and I was asked to call Chrysler to see if they could reinstate the warranty. I called to Chrysler and I was informed that I had been mailed out a reminder to have the check up done in late 2012 and that because I had not done so that there was nothing that they could do about the powertrain warranty.
I examined the woman from Chrysler that there were two problems that I had with this ... One, I didn't live at the address that they had sent the information ... And two and more importantly that I have taken the van in at least once a year and that at no time was I ever informed that there needed to be a check up for the warranty to continue. Furthermore, in 2013, I had taken it twice and once was to have the transmission flushed so one would think that that would have been the opportune time to have the powertrain check up. Needless to say, none of this changed anyone's mind and now I have to purchase a new transmission out of my pocket. I have to believe that I am not the only one that has a lifetime warranty that this has happened to. I feel cheated after having bought three new vans from Chrysler. I will never buy anything from them again.

I bought my 2007 Town and Country minivan at a used dealers lot, I needed a vehicle badly, my antifreeze was leaking into my oil, and the back end of my old van looked like it was all rusted out and ready to break in half. I took it to my repair guy and he said I better look for another vehicle because mine was not safe to drive. I found the 2007 van and it looked great, but I never asked about mileage. I figured new it says the average is 19 miles to the gallon, I didn't expect that, but I did expect more than 10.8 miles to the gallon which is what it came up to on my first fill up and I was keeping track of the mileage.
I went 130.2 miles on 11.967 gallons of gas, with my old van I at least got a little over 12 miles, but I figured this van was going to give me better mileage since it was 8 years newer, I needed a van quickly, so now I'm in debt up to my eyeballs and there's nothing I can do about it. I'm 65 years old and with the gas prices I have a different van but who can afford to put gas in it. I am so disappointed in this vehicle, I think that the average for mileage on these minivans doesn't come up to what you say, this van has 82,000 miles on it so it's broke in pretty well, again I can't put into words how disappointed I am. I will not recommend any of the Town and Countrys to anyone, not after this experience.

36,000 mi. van needs new rear brake pads and rotors. I don't have a problem buying the pads, but it should not need new rotors. Chrysler knows their brake system isn't that good but they only cover front brakes through a recall.

I have a 2008 Chrysler Minivan Town & Country. 1 year and 6 months ago, Chrysler notified me that I needed to change the system of condensation drain tube. To this date I have the same problem. The plastic was shoddy and broke again. My question is why still plastic parts? It generates more cost. Thank you.

I purchased a new 2009 Volkswagen Routan in 2009. This car has had nothing but problems from day one. I have given Volkswagen the benefit of the doubt and have had it serviced 16 times for the same issues that have yet to be resolved, and now that my warranty is up all they can do for me is to try and put me into a newer Routan for another loan. I am outraged and have gotten nowhere with the supervisors. This car is a lemon, and at this point I feel that I am stuck with it. I need some advice on how to proceed.

We own a Chrysler Town & Country 2009. My electric doors have been repaired multiple times by Chrysler for different problems. I recently put in a claim against them because on two occasions my two-year-old son got caught up on the doors. On one occasion, he was pinned between the door and panel, and I was able to jerk it open and free him. I called Chrysler and they sent an investigator to my home. When he came here, I purposely put my two and five-year-old children in front of the closing doors to show him how they do not bounce back for them. He told me he would note that in the report. Last week, I got a letter from Chrysler that the investigator found nothing wrong and they closed my case. I am now trying to contact them about the report and have been passed around the phone. I have two friends, as well, that own these vans. One traded hers in after her child’s finger got pinned and the other still owns hers and has the same issue. These vans need to be recalled before a child gets seriously hurt.

Window motor had to be replaced after 5 years and only 37,000 miles - This is a 2007 Town and Country Touring. My window has not worked for about a year. Sometimes I could get it to go down and other times it wouldn't. Well, about three months ago it stopped working all together and we just took the car in to have it inspected and see what the matter was with the window not going down and was told by Reedman that the window motor had to be replaced. With inspection, oil change, tire rotation and the window it will cost me $500. This is not what I expected for buying a car made in the USA, well if we had cars that were made and lasted without having to put a lot of money in it and that most foreign cars are under warranty for 100,000 miles and 10 years. I want to be reimbursed for the motor. I would never buy another Chrysler product if this is not made right.

The key remote that came with my Chrysler Town and Country Van is the cheapest remote that I have ever had. I have to be so careful when I turn the key to start the car because it is so flimsy. It has already broken, but I am still able to use it, but probably not for long. These remotes are very expensive and I cannot afford to replace it. I resent that it was made so flimsy.

I have a 2009 Chrysler Town and Country van which I have been very satisfied with except for one issue. As soon as it went out of warranty, my wife's key Fob would no longer open and close the doors remotely. The key would work. I was told that it was a common problem and that it was no longer under warranty. I was told that they would have to do an analysis at a cost of $75.00, if I remember correctly. They would not replace the Fob without doing an analysis so I decided that we really did not need two, so I didn't replace it.
Last week, while in Largo Florida, my Fob started acting up and it took as long as half an hour before the doors would unlock. I tried using the key, but it would not unlock the one and only door that works with a real key. I stopped at the Chrysler dealership and the young man in the service department immediately locked the doors to see if the Fob would work. About an hour later the doors unlocked. I asked to see the service manager who immediately told me they were swamped and may not be able to get to it until Monday. It was Saturday and I explained to him that we were on a tight schedule to be in South Florida Sunday.
He messed with the Fob for a while and then told me that the door linkage was off and that was the reason the key would not open the door. I literally begged him to get me a new Fob so we could make our schedule to South Florida. He said he would see what he could do and that it would be about $225.00 to replace the Fob. I was shocked, but told him I didn't have any choice and would appreciate anything he could do to get it completed today. A couple of hours later, it was done and the cost was $222.00. I didn't tell him what I was thinking after he told me they replaced a lot of them.
This is the first Chrysler product I have ever owned and am thinking it may be the one and only. For sure, I will probably not buy another vehicle that uses a Fob type device to start, lock and unlock the vehicle. If Chrysler Corporation can do something to compensate me for money spent and provide a replacement for my wife's Fob, I might reconsider. Also, I still have the locking latch on the door that needs to be repaired. I am afraid to ask how much that will cost. My biggest concern is that I have experienced an expensive and possibly recurring problem. I would think that I am not the only one to complain about this and Chrysler Corporation already has a remedy. I will greatly appreciate your response.

We have had our town and country mini van into Crown Motors 4 times in the last two months. They keep it about a week each time and put hundreds of miles on it to see if they fixed it. They have tried many things to it but check engine light is still on the same problem that we took it in for. Now, it has ticking noise and water noise that it did not have before. Now, they say they can't fix it they don't know what is wrong with it. We have put in $700.00 to them to fix it. Now we ask for some of our money back since they did not do any thing to fix it and we have to find someone who can. Now we are getting the run around from them.
We can not believe Chrysler does not know how to fix what they sell. We will not but a Chrysler again or tell anyone to buy one. But we will tell everyone we know of the trouble we are having.

I have a 2007 Chrysler Town and Country Mini Van that has 31000 miles on it. The fuel pump went out while we were driving. Luckily we were on a city street and not on the freeway, that could have been a disaster. It was towed to a Chrysler dealer and will cost about $700.00 to get fixed. Shouldn't a fuel pump last more than 31000 miles? I don't think that I will buy another Chrysler product.

In October of 1995 I purchaed a 1996 Dodge Grand Caravan from Dependable Dodge in Canoga Park CA.
In March of 1996 the nightmare began. The fuse block and a multi function switch had to be replaced because the wipers would come on by themselves while I was driving, a contact and plunger kit was replaced because the right sliding door would not always unlock when using the electric door lock, the fuel tank was replaced because when it was originally installed they installed it so that the tank was bowed therefore it would only hold 12 gallons instead of the 18 - 20 it was supposed to hold.
The car was never recalled for this defect, I discovered it on my own.
Also the front door panel was re-atteched to the door and the left sliding door was repaired because it would not unlock with the key.
Then in August of 1997 the switch for the interior lights was replaced because the lights would flicker, the left side door lock was replaced again along with the rear door latch. In Sept. of 1997 a gear was replaced for the power steering, the left sliding door had a moulding replaced because the clips were broken. In August of 98 the stereo was replaced because the treble constantly faded out, the vehicle mysteriously shut off while I was driving the car and no one could explain this phenomenon and the relay switch was replaced.
The rack and pinion was replaced at this time also and the multi-function switch again as well.
In September of 98 the car was back in the shop because the air bag light came on. Evidently, when they replaced the relay switch or the multi - function switch things started working that had never worked before such as I was not aware that the car will chime if you leave the blinker on for over one mile. It had never done it up to that point. This occured only 7 days after this work was done.
They found out that the air bag was never secured in the module with screws. It took them 7 days to get the screws but I asked them why they had to order screws, wouldn't the screws be inside the module if they had just come out? They said there never were any screws! My husband and I drove that car for two years thinking that there was a working air bag when in fact there was not.
Finally this past week we were on vacation and the transmission went out, we replaced it to the tune of $l,771. and only five days later the car is back in the shop because the transmission is slipping and the engine is reving at high rpms.
I sincerely need help, I do not know what else to do, I have contacted Chrysler every time there have been problems. Fortunately we purchased an extended warranty on the vehicle but it ran out at 50,000 miles. The car has 56,000 miles on it today.
I wrote a letter to Chrysler in September of l997 telling them I believe that I have been sold a lemon and they promptly told me I did not have a case. They were unwilling to work with us on the transmission, they said it was our fault for not maintaining the vehicle because my husband told them that he did see some liquid under the car that he thought was condensation from the air conditioner they said we should have taken the car to the shop immediately even if it appeared to be water.
The car by the way did have transmission fluid in it my husband checked it two days before the car had to go into the shop.
I feel that Chrysler should be held liable for selling vehicles that absolutely can not be depended upon.
We are driving our children around in these cars expecting to be safe and to not have to worry about being stranded; that is why I bought a new car to avoid these problems.
This car has continued to be a problem and the end does not seem near. I was four months pregnant during the air bag incident and the car shutting off. I was very worried about being left on the side of the road with a six-year-old and a seven-year-old and being pregnant. I spent numerous hours in the dealership waiting for this car and worrying about being able to pick my kids up from school.
Fortunately most of the repairs have been covered under the warranty but the transmission was not and I fear that we will only be having more frequent and expensive repairs in the future.
I bought a new car so that I would know that I was getting a good car and not someone else's troubles and so that I would be able to depend on this car.
Incidentally this last repair had to be done in Virginia, we now live in New Hampshire and had driven through five states in unbearably hot weather with our children, one being only 6 months old. Thank God the car did not break down on us on the road and thank God we were able to get back home before it started acting up again.

I purchased a 1995 Dodge Caravan in 1997 and have had nothing but trouble ever since. It all started with a terrible vibration in the front end whenever the Caravan hit a speed between 50 & 55 mph. It is still doing that despite countless attempts to correct the vibration through new tires, alignments, etc.
Next there was thick, black "paste-like", glue seeping out from around the rubber seal on the rear window, which the Dodge dealer cleaned several times, but refused to replace. It still continues to ooze from all around the back window. Next I had to replace both the alternator & battery due to complete failure. Soon after that, the solenoid in the lock/release switch on the back door quit functioning and had to be replaced.
Then came the biggest problem to date...the transmission totally died about a year ago and had to be completely replaced. Following this very costly repair, the engine has decided it doesn't want to run all the time and periodically doesn't start or completely stops running while I'm driving down the road. Several mechanics have been sought to find the problem but no one can figure it out.
Last, but certainly not the least...and probably not the last...the paint and clear coat finish has begun to peel off the hood, top & back of my van. After making yet another trip to the dealer the other day, one of their employees told me i would be lucky if they offered me 50% of the cost to repaint it. Oh yeah...he said they would only repaint the hood, top & back, but not the sides. He also said I was looking at about $350 for this halfway paint job! If I decide to pay this ridiculous amount for a partial paint job, imagine how swell my van will look going down the road with shiny, new paint everywhere but the sides. I just can't believe that Chrysler/Dodge would sell such a piece of junk!
I have spent literally thousands of dollars in repair costs and continue to do so. I have spent countless hours in various garages, shops & dealerships...losing pay from work and precious time. I have endured enough emotional distress over my Caravan's problems that i am willing to do almost anything to get help...including writing my complaints here on your web page.
My Caravan is only a little over 4 years old...but I've already had more problems and dumped more money into it than every other automobile i have ever had.
