The Jeep dealership is trying to work with them, but I had to call them and tried to talk to them but all I got was more questions, and I am without a car. I bought the Platinum plan and trying to use it for the first time. So I told Dealership to go ahead and fix my car and will pay the bill. I should have checked this company out before I paid the big bucks. I hope I can get my money I paid them for nothing back.

Updated on 06/02/2026: Be aware of misrepresentation and fraudulent practices! The American Dream Auto Protect sales rep quoted me their best Exclusionary Package, including the Electronics Package, Seals and Gaskets, and Emissions/Exhaust (stating it would literally cover bumper to bumper), all for $117.60 per month for 25 monthly payments providing me with a 5-year extended warranty package with unlimited mileage for my car. When I received the contract, I discovered my credit card had been charged $134.28 for the first month and the package "EXCLUDED" the Electronics Package, the Seal & Gaskets Package, and the Emissions/Exhaust Package.

I contacted the Customer Service Department and while the CS rep did email me confirmation of cancellation of the contract with confirmation of a refund to my credit card, she was not willing to provide the extended warranty at the price the sales rep quoted, even though it was said to be all on a recorded line. The CS representative then offered me their Exclusionary Package to include the Seals and Gaskets, Emissions/Exhaust Package, and the Luxury Electronics Package for $127.30. When I reached back out to accept the revised offer from the CS representative, no one could connect me with her. This prompted me to post a negative review on the internet, and that resulted in a response to my review, requesting that contact them to resolve the issue.

I've reached out multiple times, but with no response. I finally got a call from a person who first claimed to be a manager, but later stated he could not honor the revised offer because he was not a manager, but he could have a sales rep quote me a new price! I requested he transfer me to the CS rep that quoted me the revised offer, and he hung up on me. I now see why American Dream Auto Protect has an "F" rating with the BBB. I only wish I had checked first. I hope me telling others about this fraudulent misrepresentation will help other consumers in making a better decision for extended auto warranties.

Original Review: Please be aware of fraudulent practices! Don't do it! Horrible company to work with. BBB rating of F. My car has been in the shop for a week and they haven't even reviewed the claim yet. They even gave me a number to another warranty company when they were closed (supposed to be open 24/7). I was worried when my dealership hadn't even heard of them, but this has been a nightmare.

I have a contract with you. I have been trying to call to end the contract. I called 5 times and 45 minutes each time it rings no one answers. I finally got a call from customer service 5-18-26. I told them I do not have the car. It was in a wreck and totaled, and no replacement. She said I am due a refund. Ever since then you are texting me that I owe a monthly payment as of 5-22-26. I cancelled it you know it if I do not get a cancellation and refund by mail very soon. I'm not going to report you to FTC. I will report to FBI about fraud and they will raid you. This is not a threat. It is a promise. You have very bad reviews with BBB and FTC. I wull drive to your office with the local news media. Bad media is worse than taking you to small claims court. I will call the state where your business is located and have license revoked. I will be knocking on the front door. This is a true statement which can be used in court.

Wow. Just wow. I am appalled by this company. I requested warranty information from a third party website about extended warranties. American Dream reached out and gave me a quote. I told them I wasn't going to move forward with the purchase until I had the keys to the vehicle in hand (because I haven't purchased it yet) and I'm still getting quotes!

The original sales guy, Brock that I talked to was great, until I said I was still shopping and wouldn't buy anything until the car was in my possession. Then he became noticeably disengaged and sounded like he was laughing at me while saying "alright", "alright". At that point, my mind was made up. I will absolutely not do business with you.

Then I called back to be taken off of their call list. I was hung up on THREE TIMES. Then I did get to actually speak to someone about taking me off of their call list and they sounded offended that I would even ask. I can only assume based on this experience that this company would be a complete NIGHTMARE to work with on warranty claims.

The salesman, Josh **, did a fantastic job convincing me that I needed to get the additional extended warranty protection because I wouldn't get the Platinum plan at this price if I waited. I was told the monthly payments would be automatically charged to my credit card for the amount of $912.49 - $912.50 for three months, a total of $3649.99.

After all payments were made my car was still under the original factory warranty so I decided to cancel the policy. I found that auto repair shops in my area didn't like doing business with American Dream Auto Protect because they are slow on processing claims. Since I never filed a claim I don't know if that is true, but I decided to cancel my policy anway. This is where the nightmare begins in getting my refund. I discovered American Dream Auto Protect had doubly charged my card on Jan 29, 2025 (Post Date Jan 31, 2025) for the amount of $912.50 and then again, on that same day, less than a minute later, Jan 29, 2025 (Post Date Jan 31, 2025) an additional $912.49.

During the next four months due to a serious surgery I was unaware of the double charge and didn't discover it until I canceled my policy via a phone call taken by Cory ** on Feb 20, 2026, and a handwritten Cancelation letter, sent via Certified Mail on Feb 13, 2026, that was received by American Dream Auto Protect on Feb 25, 2026. I received an emailed "Policy Cancelation Letter" from Corey ** on Feb 20, 2026. On Feb 24, 2026, I called them to request information about when to expect my refund and to inform them of their over-charge of $912.50.

I also emailed, as an attachment to Corey **, a letter from the Branch Manager of my banking institution verifying the double charges to my card made by American Dream Auto along with the bank statements showing the charges. I have kept copious notes of all the calls, dates and times, made to American Dream Auto Protect. The amount of time I've spent trying to get my refund is insane! I was even told by a Supervisor named Jessica (April 14, 2026, at 4:35 pm) that it is impossible for American Dream Auto Protect to double charge a credit card, so they will not refund my $912.50 and since she is the Supervisor she had the ultimate last word. According to her, she has no boss.

What began in Feb is still ongoing. I have spoken with Corey **; also emailed him; Jessica (the Supervisor); Calvin and Christina. I began this horrific journey on Feb 20, 2026, received email from Corey ** requesting over-charge info (I immediately forwarded all info to him). I called again on March 6, 2026 at 12:40pm, spoke with Calvin who said he would check with Corey ** to see if he received my emailed documents. I tried emailing again and got no response. I was told to email info@americandream.com but this is a general mailbox and no guarantee that anyone would see it. I called back on Mar 16, 2026, Jean transferred me to Jennifer; she kept me on hold for 20 minutes, but I couldn't "hold" any longer.

I called again April 14, 2026 at 4:19pm; Jessica answered at 4:35pm, stated, "Policy was canceled". She put me back on hold at 4:36; after "holding" for 46 minutes I hung up. I called again on Apr 20, 2026 at 3:00 pm (800.349.3027) and listened to the same awful music from 3:00 - 4:06 pm. At 4:23 pm I tried all known American Dream Auto Protect Customer Service phone numbers: 631.443.0565, 800.349.3027, 800.619.9152 (special promotion on medical devices).

On May 4, 2026 at 12:34 pm (while in my car) I spoke with Christina. She apologized for the inaction on my refund and said she would send a letter to the President concerning my overpayment and my refund. I called again on May 6 at 3:53pm (from my car), but lost connection with Christina at 4:00 pm. On May 8, 2026 at 12:56pm I spoke with Corey **. He actually took the time to find the emailed documents I had forwarded to him in Feb. Evidently, no one else could be bothered to do this except Corey and Christina. The over- charge of $912.50 was confirmed by the "back office". I should expect a check in 18 business days.

Now here it really gets confusing and even more tedious. ** "esculates" my request for refund to the company President for $3893.32. On May 15, 2026, I received a check in the mail for $2,655.82, a shortage of $1,237.53. The Due Date on the check is Feb 26, 2026 and the Issue Date is May 5, 2026. So again I tried calling on May 19, 2026, at 1:12pm. After waiting for 1 hour and 19 minutes, no one answered, I hung up. I will try again tomorrow. This is a company I recommend everyone stay away from!!

Only thing that would be wear and tear paint, lights, brakes, tires etc. Have a claim 3 months later and get denied. But not only that I was told to take the vehicle back to the repair shop and leave it the duration of the claim process. I called the shop to let them know and was told they had already denied it.

But the first call I made I talked to a Joseph who tried to transfer me and the line disconnected. He proceeded to use the F word and cuss me out stating I can’t just hang up and call back. When I tried to explain his call didn’t transfer. He hung up on me. Was able to find the direct number to cancellations. And like I said Saran was great.

I was told it was covered. I brought my Jeep to the dealer and was told the part needed to be replaced. I gave them the warranty, and they said they would take care of it. I got a text from the dealer saying the claim was denied! I called American Dream, and they told me that the repair was not covered!!! I asked for a supervisor and was connected to Christina **. I explained my situation, and in a short period of time, she corrected the situation to my satisfaction. Christina was a good listener and was very understanding and professional. DO NOT purchase an extended warranty from this company. Filed a claim that took 3 weeks to decide that my claim was denied because they claimed that my car had pre existing damage prior to purchasing the warranty, mind you that the customer service reps said although you may not notice but pre existing damages where happening...hmmm. In that case, every vehicle on the road has pre existing damages happening that you don't know is happening they claim. And they can deny a claim. So what's the purpose of having a warranty then if you claim this. And mind you, they wouldn't refund the money I paid for that I couldn't use because they said my car had pre existing damages occurring. Make it make sense. Horrible company, BUYERS BEWARE!

The claim I made was declined because the vehicle apparently had the same issue before I bought the vehicle and failure of similar nature will not be covered per American Dream. How am I responsible for issue of the same nature occurring again. It is a mechanical machine can have the same failure or issue more than once. The customer service is very poor, they won't respond, you have to keep calling every day. It took 6 weeks and ultimately declined.
