Purina Pet Foods

Heather of Indianhead Park, IL March 20, 2007

Heather of Indianhead Park IL (03/20/07)
Our cat died because of the pet food problems. We had to put our cat down last Weds. before the news reported the problem with IAMS Pet food. We have the chart and the Vet. report showing the high toxicity level in the blood and urine. Our cat was the pet of my 2 year old son Tyler who is devastated. There is no question that the food in question was at fault, we have the receipt and UPC symbol showing that this was the product responsible.

I contacted IAMS and have heard nothing back. No surprise.

My 13 year old cat died within a week of changing her food. She ate Purina Cat Chow her entire life and I switched her to the Purina One Healthy Weight Formula. She threw up and stopped eating. I had to put her down. The food was purchased 1/07 in Phoenix, AZ.

For the past several months I noticed that my cats' health was declining. They began to urinate frequently. One died several weeks ago. The common denominator is Purina Cat Chow and Purina Kitten Chow which I just recently stopped feeding them as I suspected it might be making them sick. This outrages me that a compnay can sell a product that harms our loved pets. How could this happen? My pets are sick and dying because of corporate greed.

My cat died and others have become ill from eating Purina Pet Food.

I purchased Purina's Friskies Special Diet for my cat last week. She was in perfect health and as usual, ran to her cat dish as soon as I poured it into her bowl. When I got home after work she was vomiting and could barely move. She died a couple hours later in my arms having a seizure. I had this cat nine years and loved her very much. I wish I hadn't gotten her this food. If this particular pet food can potentially kill an animal they should not have it readily available on the shelves at the grocery store.

Paul of Pearland, TX October 13, 2006

Paul of Pearland TX (10/13/06)
I purchased a Bag of Purina One, Adult Healthy Weight Dog Food from the Pet Store. After 4 days of feeding my dog this food 2 times a day, I noticed that there was something mixed in with food. upon taking a closer look I could clearly see that there was dead flying ants (insects) mixed in with the food, and not just one or two, it looked like a colony, webs and ants. then I realized why after feeding the dog the food for the last few days, he had been reluctant to eat it.... This is something I am not very happy about, I do have the Nearly Full Bag, Ant Colony Included.

Not sure of any consequences as of yet.. But I am pretty sure my dog was not too happy having to eat bugs for 4 days.
