It was ok for the past few years, until when I was in Thailand and tried buying another domain from their, their stupid system just marked me as a spam while paying thru PayPal. Since then they have given me such a headache and problem until most of my domains have already expired but the domain that I am using right now is something that I am still saving but they are really uncooperative. This WINSON ** that used to be a jr. tech assistant now a billing admin or support admin makes life like a living hell for their clients. He will be sending you an automated response then close the ticket without getting it resolved. Please, it's time to file for a class-action lawsuit against this company for the damages that they have been causing our businesses. It's not just any other money or business that we are losing, it's also our years of hard-worked investments.

This is the worst web host ever. I had my business website there and in the beginning (3 years ago) the website host was good. If I needed help, they were a phone call away. Then something happened. I paid a renewal fee of over $500 for the web hosting, and was promised a free SSL certificate with the package. I ended up having to pay $25, and still no SSL was issued. They got rid of their customer service phone and replaced it with chat. I waited for over an hour, and not a single customer service rep came on to the chat, and there is NO other way to contact them! All that money and no service. I migrated my site to a GoDaddy server and within one hour, had a leave site with an SSL certificate for 1/4 of the price, with all of the same bells and whistles. STAY FAR AWAY from Arvixe if you care about your business website and don't pay their exorbitant fees--you get nothing for them.

I used this "company" to park some domains and publish others. This year I choose to move my main domain to another one service. First I tried to find the unlock code to move my domain and was not available everywhere. So I wrote to them "support" and I also discovered my domain was moved to another one person. But I was lucky, my email didn't change and I start the transfer. After a long chat with them "support" I had my unlock code.

After I moved my domain to another server they took from my bank account 67,20$ also if my automatic update was disabled. That's happen with the transaction ** of 13 January 2019. So I opened the ticket ** asking the refound of this money, first because I don't need the service, second because my contract expire 28 January 2019. I was asking the reason they took the money from my account about one service I didn't plan to renew. They answered, it is my problem, and keep my money. When the terms of refund was expired they wrote me one new message on the same ticket to remember me the terms of refund was expired. Take care, they are really robbers. They will do everything to steal money, if you really want use them service, use a temporary credit card to pay or your money will be stolen.

I had Arvixe for about 5 years and had issues the whole time. I bought a long term package. I finally left them 2 years ago and switched to GoDaddy (Great). I canceled service and transferred my domain correctly. 2+ years later they are still trying to bill me each year. They no longer have a phone they answer and the CHAT on their website is always down - kind of like how my e-mail was.

I've had Arvixe for four years. I've never been particularly impressed, although except for a random server error for a month when I hadn't changed any files and no response from Tech Support for about as long (and they said nothing was wrong - it later "fixed" itself) there was nothing necessarily "wrong" with their service. However, they got rid of their phone customer service and now have only 24/7/365 "Live Chat", which I don't like. Sometimes chat is okay, but sometimes I want to TALK to a human being.

Finally, since I hadn't even looked at my site in about a year, I decided not to renew when they increased the price from $6/mo to $8/mo. I hadn't had time to double-check my files, so on 1/5/19, I disabled "auto-renew" on their site (service was to renew 2/1) to ensure it wouldn't charge me before I could cancel. Today, 1/17/19, I received an email receipt for the charge to my credit card for the renewal. The cancellation page in the Arvixe Client Area says I am not eligible for a refund, and for the last 40 minutes the "24/7/365 Live Chat" has been "unable to initiate chat session". I do NOT recommend Arvixe.

I started with Arvixe about eight years ago and they were top notch back then. I could get help above and beyond what was necessary to help me build my website and understand the workings of web hosting and back-end stuff. Then something changed. They were bought out and now they are horrible. No phone support - not even for billing problems. Terrible customer service - they either can't help you or "escalate" the issue and then you still get a runaround.

I sold a domain and it took MONTHS to get it transferred and resolved to the new owner. Tried to cancel - they have my account "on hold". I pray I am not billed in 2019 for hosting. I have read other reviews where customers were billed months after requesting cancellation because Arvixe doesn't fully cancel your account. Now I see this for myself. :(

Then after you have an established site and have spent hundred of hours building your site - they extort you with a warning email about how "you have too many files on our system and need to upgrade to our premium servers, or remove 95% of your files". Their supposed limit had been reached 2 years prior and the issue was never raised until it was too far gone.

I went through all the fine print. 1000% when I signed up and there were NO mentions of file/"node" limitations. In my cPanel it even says I'm using 21% of my total files. I am guessing they are a total fraud and trying to generate money for themselves. DO NOT go with Arvixe they are complete crooks!!! Please don't just take my word. Google it! They even recently disabled the ability to turn in a trouble ticket, for Pete's sake! Lack of reimbursement or remuneration for problems they caused, and on and on. I have been in the computer industry since 1978 and have had a number of different web hosting companies for my business since 1996. I have a ton of experience in this arena, and I can say that by far, hands down, without a question, Arvixe is the WORST choice I have ever made. I was told that my website was down and instead it would show "Domain may be for sale". After login into my panel, I discovered that the domain was expired, for an entire month! How could have been? I paid $96 a few months ago! I was never sent a reminder of expiration. After I spent an hour in chat, they finally offered me a free renewal, but told me that the website would re-appear in 24-48 hours. Free domain renewal doesn't make up for the loss I had in that month the website was down. I invested on advertisement in that month, and my website was down! And I didn't know! They also said they sent me a reminder, but that e-mail never made it to my mailbox. This is not the first time my website has been down. Also, they play games with billing. They keep changing dates and take down payments automatically before the due date. Stay away from this web host! I will switch ASAP!

Over two years ago I moved all my domains away from Arvixe and switched hosting companies. 2 years later they billed me for a domain renewal that was not registered with them. It was literally impossible for them to renew the domain yet they still billed me for it. I contacted billing and they told me they would issue the refund. Instead of refunding me they applied a credit to "my account".

I then contacted support and said I don't want a credit. I want my money back and they sent the following email: "We do apologize for the delay in getting back to you through ticket. I realize this is a frustrating experience. We are working our way through them as quickly as we can. Unfortunately, amount of $9.95 added as credit in your client area. Unfortunately, it is not possible to issue the refund for the credit balance. This credit will be applied either towards the purchase or renewal of the domain name." $9 isn't worth my pursuing this much further but it is worth of the one star rating this shady company deserves. Avoid like the plague. Oh, and their shared hosting is overloaded and not worth it. Much other better companies out there. Stay away.

They outsource all their support to someone halfway across the world who doesn't care even in the slightest whether your issue gets solved or not. Recently they decided to raise their rates and bill people 15 days early without bothering to notify their customer base. As a small business owner trying to get by this had a big impact on my accounts. I have since cancelled my service and almost a month later am still trying to get a refund from them. I have been with Arvixe for 3 years now. On 6/14/2017 all my emails and website went down. After contacting support I was told they did not host my domain name. They told me I have to contact the company I was hosted with 3 years ago to unlock my domain so it can be transferred. I contacted them and asked them to unlock it. They told me it was unlocked. They sent me the code and I gave it to Arvixe. Support came back and said it was locked. I did this every day for the next 5 days. I complained to ICANN who assign domain names to IP's.

After 5 days and more hours than I can count trying to get it unlocked I was told by ICANN that it had been unlocked all the time. It was only today I found out (06/20/2017) that it was and that support never re-initiated to transfer. They just kept going on old info that it was locked. Lazy support has cost me 100's of dollars in ad's and loss of income. When they did re-initiated and it went through they tell me it will be 5-7 days more. A total of 2 weeks my emails and website lost.

Look before you jump in. There are no email contacts or phone numbers should you have problems. Only chats that send you to the same person that did not do their job to complain to. All you will get from support is {I apologize for any inconvenience this may has caused you}. They must copy and paste due to I have received that message more than a dozen times when trying to get this issue resolved. All and all I have found out that there is no real support and that the person you are talk to has not a clue of what to do. I paid them for 3 years and not once did they ever tell me they did not host my domain. That's all I used them for. Shopify host my website and Arvixe my domain name that they never had. I will be changing again as soon as the dust settles but this time I will go with a company that has real support like Shopify. Worth a few more bucks but won't get burned like I did with Arvixe. I wish they had a -star rating here.

It all started when I received my new card... Since Arvixe could no longer autobill me once my old card expired, they did the reasonable thing. They suspended my account. I probably got notified on that, but I missed the email. Several days went by... then a couple of weeks before I noticed my website was down. No big. I was interested in trying out another web hosting site, so paid them and began migrating my domain. More days went by, so I logged onto Arvixe to find out what the problem was. It turns out, my domain name had expired along with my yearly plan, which basically meant they were holding my domain name hostage.

I got ahold of support and was informed I needed to reactivate my domain name so that the transfer could happen. Great. 10 bucks. No problem. Domain name reactivated. Awesome. But that's not where the trouble started. The trouble started with the outstanding invoice for yearly service. Which I distinctly remembering cancelling that same day. I went through their process. No sweat. I move on. Today, I find I have been charged the yearly fee. What? I contact support and tell them I was charged on what I thought was my cancelled invoice.

Now, at this point, I read that as 'all I have to do is cancel the active invoice and all will be well'. So, I go over to my client panel and go through the process. Again. Great. Done. Moving on. Unfortunately, this is where it goes sideways. I was schooled on what I should have done. Keep in mind that I was under the impression that I HAD CANCELLED the invoice. Up until this happened, I had no real problem with them previously, but it certainly goes to show you that customer service is a thing of the past. And, just an aside, those terms of service he kept throwing in my face was changed on May the 1st of this year. Nine days ago. Take this as you will. As the saying goes, let the buyer beware.

When I signed up with Arvixe 2 years ago they had glowing reviews online and the service they provided was outstanding. They got bought by a large company and since then the company is nothing short of an enemy to their customers. Problems began with email. I would have problems in Outlook downloading emails from the Arvixe servers. I'd call them up, they'd acknowledge the problem (too large spool file) and say they'll fix it. That happened more and more frequently. I was calling them 5-6 times a week. They even acknowledged that it shouldn't happen and that they should've been on top of the issue, but weren't. After 6-7 weeks of this nonsense I was tired of losing emails, losing business, etc. I was calling them all the time and opening support tickets that went unresolved.

On a Wednesday afternoon, mid-workday, my email stopped again. I went to my website which now read, "This website has been suspended." I got on the phone with them and they told me that the content violated their terms of service (my website is an online pharmacy). They said I was selling narcotics online and it was illegal. Not true. They said I didn't have any of the necessary licenses to run a pharmacy. Not true. I faxed them all of the legal documentation. They refused to turn the site back on. Not only that, but I no longer had FTP access to any of my files on their server. Nightmare! This all happened with NO prior notice. They weren't even decent enough to call me to ask about any of the legal documentation. They just unilaterally terminated my website in July 2016.

Here we are April 2016 and they're sending me an invoice to pay for another 2 years of service ($240). The email said they'd automatically bill my credit card on file. I tried calling them to stop this from happening and the message I received on the call was, "In order to provide the best customer service we are discontinuing phone support." HAHAHAHA! That's a good one! Arvixe is a textbook example of how NOT to run a business.

Unreliable and unethical hosting. I wish I had a better experience with this poor company. We hosted with them since 2015. During their first 60 day period, we were mostly satisfied with their service. The migration was relatively easy. This company specializes in DOWNTIME. In the frequent event that a server crashes, it always take greater than a week to restore service. After 19 days of downtime, we finally moved to a reliable hosting company. I wasted countless hours to initially connect with their IT guys, who simply apologized and promised to restore service as soon as possible.

If poor service was the end of our connection, I would not be writing this review. We paid for 2 years of service and stopped using it after 12 months. Recently, we were auto billed $134 to renew our hosting. This was an error as we will never work this company again. Our initial hosting plan had not expired yet when we were billed for an additional 2 years. I started seeking a refund before the funds had been withdrawn from our account. I contacted the bank to stop payment, however, decided to be fair to Arvixe and work through a refund with their company. This was a mistake.

KYLE ** was the manager I was connected with. He quoted company policy through several interactions as told me there was nothing they could do since we were out of our initial 60 day period. They billed us in error but refused the refund the money. This is an unethical business practice. Please carefully read the reviews before choosing to host with this company.
