Sent me a bill with charges a year and a half old. Billing me when I already have a transponder and refusing to adjust my invoice. This company should leave the state of Florida and stop ripping people off!!

I can no logger log in at my pre paid account and the bill from Sixt rental car just arrived. So I am wondering what happen since I had the SunPass transponder at the car when I went thought the tolls. When I left the rental car I forgot to take it out so I decided to disable the bar code... And I can no longer check my U$ 18,80 that I still had. Very disappointed...

I've cancelled like 6 times and twice online and the account has never closed. They were suppose to refund my money 3 months ago over a rental car from Hertz auto. THEY WON'T GO AWAY. These people are extortionist and scammers of the state. The state of Florida gives no ** about stealing from you. It's just sad at this point I don't expect them to give my money back. I will never pay these people and I will see if Hertz can register their plates again after my Uber/rental program went south.

BEWARE, I just signed up for the auto SunPass account. I have a transponder sticker on my window. They are deducting money from my account and my car was not even in the state for the toll charged. It’s impossible to talk to customer service. They denied my dispute through email stating that I have a transponder. Read reviews before signing up. This is becoming a problem. I probably should cancel my account before it gets worse.

Terrible service. The system says; may be viewed or downloaded for the past 36 months. Once you logged in and trying to go over your account, you are allowed to see up to 90 days only! When I called them Customer Rep said that I need to apply via email and wait up to 3-4 weeks for my Transaction View statement. Seriously? How come that I am not able to see how much money they sucked from my account? Horrible and unfriendly Customer Service.

After 7 loyal years being a Sunpass customer, I am 100% done. Cancelled my account and I'm currently an E-Pass customer. I received an unpaid Toll Violation from E-Pass saying that I did not pay the toll on 03/18 and 03/19. I call SunPass and they tell me that they never received the bill from E-Pass. I call E-Pass and they tell me that the only reason they sent me a bill is because Sunpass did not pay when they sent the bill to them and they gave me the Invoice # for that bill. I call SunPass again and they verified that I had a positive balance at the time of the transaction as I have automatic replenishment and that my vehicle information was correct.

The supervisor said he can't do anything about the extra penalties because they don't have evidence that I had the transporter on the car at the time of the transaction. It makes no damn sense as being a SunPass customer, E-Pass Tolls still bills by license plate not Transporter as I was not their customer at the time of the transaction. E-Pass supervisor told me that they always bill E-Pass customers by their License Plate, as they do not have access to the Transporter being scanned by the Toll, as it is not in their system/account.

By the way, I always have the transporter in my car. Supervisor said he would be ok to cancel my account. He did not care even though this is the first time it happens to me, I have been a loyal customer for 7 years and it's my first complaint towards Sunpass. So they let a customer go over a few cents of penalties over an unpaid toll that was their fault anyways as they never paid the bill that E-Pass sent to them even when my account was in a positive balance. Shame on you Sunpass!

Made payment to SunPass Toll by plate, sent proof of removal from bank acct. Sunpass can't find the money. They keep saying they will send to servicing to locate. It's been over 3 months. Don't pay online.... They lose your money and find every excuse not to make it right.

I am a current SunPass holder (commute to Tampa on Veterans), yesterday I received a Toll Enforcement Invoice in the mail. When I tried to access my account using the account # on the Invoice I was unable to login. Then after changing my password and logging in realized the account # on the invoice isn't even mine. In the past I just paid these assuming there was a glitch with the system. This time however I did my research and found that the two tolls they were claiming were in fact withdrawn from the funds I had in my account already. After reading all the write-ups about how truly messed up SunPass is I don't know if the letter I'm writing is going to do any good.

For months Epass and SunPass have been taking all of my money! I have been billed numerous times pay by plate when I pay 30-50 a week in tolls. I go through 2 tolls a day 2 times a day and they charge me 4 times. Sometimes even when I do not go through one like on my day off! I have contacted and emailed both companies and they tell me the same thing!! I want all of my money back. I don't understand how a company can do this. I am beyond upset.

Around 2016, I started to receive tolls that did not belong to me. I called SunPass, and the operator fixed the issue quickly for me; they even told me the name of the plate that I was being mistaken for. The past few years went by without me receiving an incorrect toll. In the past few months, however, I have begun to receive the tolls again. I have probably opened 5 disputes in the past 5 months, but the tolls keep coming. All they keep telling me is that they can file a dispute and send me an email with the result, but that's a lie because I have to keep calling to see what they've done!

The tolls are always charged on the opposite side of my state, and I do not even own the type of car that they said the license plate is on. They don't care to find the real owner of the plate and charge them. They keep sending me tolls with photos of a car and plate whose text is illegible. It's truly ridiculous that they cannot check to make sure that they're sending a toll to the correct person, and even more ridiculous that this has continued for 5 months without a solution.

I've been calling the customer service line for 3 days and they hang up on me. They are quick to charge my credit card, toll by plate but when it comes to my questions and concerns I get hung up on? What kind of mediocre business is this? You work for the county and state. Why are you hanging up on people?

This toll system in Florida is corrupt. I have been a SunPass customer for years and I have always automatically replenished the account, however I got Pay By Plate bills several times. I had to pay them before I could renew my registration. I don't know where my SunPass funds went. On top of that, SunPass keeps charging me money without passing through the tolls. I don’t know how they do that. It is outrageous and I wonder when the Florida Department of Transportation is going to listen to the people's complains and stop this rip off.

My family went on a trip to Miami and The Keys from Massachusetts for 7 days in February of 2019. I purchased the temporary Sunpass that sticks on the windshield of our rental car. The instructions on the pass instructs you to sign up online to activate it. I specifically input that the pass was only active from 2/20/2019 until 2/27/2019. I received a bill in the mail today saying it had a negative balance so I checked my account online. What a disaster! The pass is still active and been in use for months, racking up a huge bill.

I have received invoice for a tag I have never owned for 4 months. Keep disputing including motor vehicle records to prove I have never owned that tag. Cannot get a live person! Phone ALWAYS says, ”We are experiencing higher than usual call volumes”, even at 8 a.m. when they open.

My SunPass, the actual physical SunPass, isn't detected on my windshield. This means that I have to attach my plate to my account so that they can do toll by plate. I've done this, but it still doesn't work there. The app on the phone doesn't work, the website can't find my login information despite having three cars registered for five years. Just every part of this system was clearly designed by either the lowest bidder, or someone owed someone else a favor and got the contract. There's no way it has to be this bad, I can't even log in to give them their money.

Updated on 04/14/2019: After a few months trying to log in to change my PIN to a password, I finally succeeded today through a link included in an e-mail advising me that my account was a few dollars in the negative (I had no way of checking). It took me six tries just to update the expiration date of my credit card and to refill my account. I kept receiving messages advising me that my changes could not be updated so try another credit card.

The default refill amount showed as $30. I wanted $15 (Got to put food on the table for the family). I thought maybe the system was not accepting the lower amount so, after the fourth time, I tried $25. I got the same error message again. So I printed the only e-mail confirmation I got for the $15. Now a few hours later, I get 2 phone notifications about two amounts being withdrawn from my checking a/c; One for $15 and one for $25! I want a refund for the $25. Because I work two to three jobs, I do not have the time to be on the phone with SunPass, that is if anyone answers the phone. Hence this review. Thank you.

Original Review: I have been heeding SunPass's suggestion to log into my account because the system no longer uses a PIN to log in (too bad cause it was working well) and to create a User ID and password last year. I had to use the telephone system to add money into my account as opposed to the online convenience for lack of time as I work 2 to 3 jobs. Plus the form set up in the system does not accept the information I put in to create a User ID AND Password. Their form is conveniently created so you can't put your phone number; formatted as (000)000-0000 and can't contact them by e-mail. It's frustrating! But they do spend time, labor, paper and ink to send me a by toll bill for $0.78. What sense does that make. Please spend out hard-earned tax money more efficiently!

I have two active and up to date SunPass transponders that work and charge me correctly. I am also receiving pay by plate fees out of Miami (I've never been to Miami). These fees are automatically charged to my account and funds are automatically replenished to through my credit card. I have now been charged 21 times for someone in Miami that has a license plate similar to mine. I have contacted SunPass by phone through their automated phone system that tends to hang up on you or tell you will be on hold for an excess of 45 minutes. I was able to finally get a return number entered for them to call me back without being hung up on.

They did finally call me back! I told them the issue, the license plate in question is similar to mine but very difficult to read. The car is not mine, I have never owned a vehicle like the one in the pictures SunPass posts on their website. I was TOLD in no uncertain terms that it is my license plate and type of vehicle does not matter. They said they would review my issue but I have doubts they will ever refund my money and in the meantime this vehicle in question continues to have tolls charged to me. If I suspend my SunPass and decide to just pay cash like a tourist and give up the "convenience" of using SunPass I feel I would then be mailed bills with the toll fees and penalties attached. SunPass is broken!

I don't think I've ever felt so much rage that I would go through the hassle of writing a negative review. They have continuously been sending me invoices in the mail even though my transponder IS activated and working and for the last month I've been trying to get ANY kind of connection with ANYONE from SunPass. I feel like open heart surgery is easier than trying to reach a human being from SunPass. On top of having to first deal with that waste of time, brain dead robotic voice that can't seem to understand when I speak plain English at times it is a treacherous maze to figure out what path you have to take to be able to speak to an actual human being!

And then when you FINALLY get to that you have to hold, which is fine no big deal...BUT FOR THIS LONG!?!? My kids have already graduated college and have a house and a family of their own while I'm still on hold....and I don't even have kids! And to add acid to a 3rd degree burn it feels as if they are purposely trying to get you to ** off because instead of just having simple smooth jazz or classical music playing like a normal company would do that doesn't want to annoy their paying customers, they have EVERY 5 SECONDS that (at this point) ear piercing robot tell you that you can press 2 to be placed on the call list and they will call you back when possible. HAHAHAHA don't make me sarcastically laugh!

Like I heard you the first 30 times, you're not getting rid of me that easily! After what seems like a millennium on hold I was finally able to reach an actual living, breathing human (as far as I know) and luckily got my situation resolved. I do appreciate that my problem was able to be solved but what irritated me beyond belief is the amount of obstacles it took to get here.

If I'm taking my time to call because I need help with something then its probably important and would be nice if SunPasscould either:
1) Get back to customers in a timely manner (not having to wait after sending in a request a month and a week ago and still not hear back in any way).
2) Not make their automated menu an EXTREME hassle to navigate that would aggravate their customers before they even reach a human representative.

3) Hire more employees (or work on suggestions 1 or 2 to avoid this step) so that customers don't have to grow old waiting for a representative to answer the phone. I started this review ready to punch a whole in a cement wall, and I'm not easy to anger, and even if no SunPass representative sees this review or gives a crap about what I had to say I at least feel better that I got this parasite off of my chest.

We are trying to figure out what is going on. SunPass is billing me for a Mack truck with Florida tags - not my vehicle. I live in Virginia and haven't been to Florida in 10 years. The first dispute was ignored. I reached a representative about the 2nd invoice and was told that when it is reviewed, if the vehicle is not ours the charge would be removed. That sounds good, but how is this license tag being linked to me anyway????

SunPass Operations continuously fails to respond to my emails, calls, and tickets. I have an unresolved issue with an invoice and they do not help. Sunpass Operations continuously fails to respond to my emails, calls, and tickets. I keep receiving invoices from FDOT for "unpaid" tolls. However, I have an operating transponder in the car so I am trying to dispute it. The main issue is that I have a new License Plate with a new number. When I try to register the plate number I get an error message saying that the License Plate number is already linked to another account. It seems that the plate number was recycled.

I have continuously called, messaged them online and created tickets. They never respond. When I called today I got a message that said the waiting time was 52 minutes and if I preferred, they could call me back so I wouldn't have to wait on the phone so I selected that option. About an hour later I received a call and when I answered the phone no one spoke. Instead, a song played continuously. I was desperate to speak with someone so I waited. After 8 minutes of listening to the song, they hung up on me! When I called back the wait time was now 79 minutes! This is ridiculous. I want to resolve the issues with my invoices because after 3/31/19 they are going to charge fees for non-paid invoices. They need to hire more customer service employees to be able to handle the influx of calls.

If there was negative stars, I'd give them 100 negative stars. I waited on the phone for well over one hour as their online program will not let me in. After which they promptly hung up the phone. There isn't a worse experience I have had in well over 20 years than with them... How can they be in business with this horrible customer service?

I am being billed for a toll charge that was not mine. I am disputing the charge on 3/12/2019 at Yeehaw Junction. Your service rep, Eric, informed me that the charge was from the car I no longer own and that I did not deactivate the old transponder. The steps I took to deactivate this transponder: When I bought my new car, I immediately deactivate the transponder on the old car. However, a problem developed with my new car whereby I needed to use my old car for another month while my new car was in service. Because I could not reactivate the old transponder, I called SunPass and they fixed that problem for me. One month later, my new car was returned to me where I then transferred the plate from old to new and when online to SunPass and moved the license plate to the new car, removed the old car from the list.

Eric informed me that I did not deactivate the old transponder and therefore I am responsible for a $6.40 charge on a toll that I did not use. I informed Eric that I did deactivate the old code. He kept insisting that I did not. I kept insisting that his records did not show that and that I did, indeed deactivated the transponder. His insistence that I did not was implying that I am lying. I kept asking him to state that the SunPass records did not show that the transponder code was never deactivated refusing to state the obvious, that SunPass computer records showed that it was never deactivated. By refusing to state the obvious, that SunPass records did not show this rather he insisted that I did not do this is tantamount to him telling me that I am a liar.

GIGO - garbage in, garbage out. It is a simple matter for Eric to state that their records show it did not happen. Yet he refused to insert into the conversation the words, "our records". Further, he informed me that the license plate on the old car was not transferred to my new car. Yet, I was looking at my account online and it clearly showed that the plate was registered to my new car. Worse, he told me because I had not deactivated the old transponder that I was liable for the charge and there was NO WAY for me to protest this.

My credit card was charged $25 on Jan 18, 19, 20 and 21st, 2019. I hadn't even been on the parkway. Then I received an invoice in the mail for $13 - two days later my credit card was charged another $10. I filed a complaint on their online site as trying to call several times proved useless. The wait time each time I called was over 34 minutes. I still haven't received a refund. I went online today to cancel my account and the site is down!

I wanted to simply add a vehicle to my transponder account. My online account tells me I have to call customer service at 1-888-865-5352 to add a vehicle. First time I waited to be connected to someone for 32 min before I had to leave and had to hang up! The second time I called I waited for 43 min on hold to be connected to a customer service rep at which point adding the car took less than a min.

I have been a SunPass customer for years, yesterday I got an E-PASS Pay By Plate bill for $45.00 dollars, how that can happen? Well, some act of magic change my transporter number and I don't know where my Sun-pass funds went. I cancelled my account and from now on I am just going to pay cash and keep the receipts. Something very funny, it's happening with this toll system in Florida.

I have always have a SunPass account. I have always automatically replenished the account so that we don't fall behind. Some time last year the card on file got stolen and we had to change cards. I didn't think about the sunpass being linked because they're not top of mind since they don't send out monthly reminders. The card stayed off the account for months before I was notified that my bill was over $150. I began to pay it but couldn't attach my card because it would take the whole amount which I couldn't afford to do. So the amount continued to climb. A couple of months later amount is over $360 in tolls. No notices or reminders. Just a "Hey, by the way, you owe this amount due a week from now or you will incur fees and charges and won't be able to register your plate the next year." This company needs a better notification system to let people know before their amount gets so high. I wish there was another option. I hate SunPass.

Traveling 417 to Orlando airport with an iPass (compatible with E-ZPass) I got double charged for a toll. Put a claim into Sunpass and was refused and told I had to get it from iPass. iPass wanted written proof of SunPass activity before they would review with no guaranty of refund. So for a possible $1.40 refund I have to supply paper, ink, envelope and stamp. Totally frustrating experience with about as poor customer service I have ever encountered. Another example of our mismanaged government.

Looks like bunch of idiots are working there. My every call made matters worse. My transponder never arrived to me. I called to request a refund. They said it is not a problem and they will issue it. Refund never came. Called them again, I was told it can take up to 21 days. I waited 21 more days and called gain and was told that refund was never issued and they are going to reissue it. After several days I've received text saying I have 0 balance. Looks like they just issued refund on my money that was sitting on my account, but not for the transponder. And this money are still hasn't reached my checking account. These guys are ** joke.

Rewards program has been cancelled. Why? There are a lot of us that use the tolls every single day to go to work. It is fine to lower the rates but do not make the daily user end up paying for people and tourists that use it once in a while. The discount is fine but do not cancel the rewards program that you had offered and that we were counting on your word and a lot of people kept using the service because of the rewards as well.

OK, for years I have had to avoid all toll roads because of a $47.00 charge for a $1.50 toll. Visiting Florida for vacation and visiting family I’ve had to avoid all tolls because it was the only one, SunPass. E-ZPass services all the east coast except Florida. I’ve even got charged once and didn’t go on the toll road, with more than an hour's worth of my time fighting it it was refunded. Finally in October 2018 is see E-ZPass is accepted. Just visited again and I brought my E-ZPass with me, logged in vehicle and began driving.

Well, several miles on the 417 guess what, a small sign says “end of E-ZPass” WHAT! I can’t believe this, I got off exit and a toll, SunPass only, are you kidding me. My wife and I are digging for change holding traffic up in a panic. Well .85 cents is all we had and I’m sure I’ll get screwed on this one. Will you get your crap together Florida? All E-ZPass or none. I’m sick of getting screwed over toll violations with your ripoff program. You're killing the environment as well because people like me are tired of get ripped and burning more gas traveling 20 extra miles to avoid tolls. What a monopoly for tourist getting burned with the rentals and out of state vehicles.

Trying to activate a new SunPass account and was told it couldn't be activated because of an unpaid toll by photo. I had a SunPass at that time that was used and there was no unpaid toll. I ended up closing that account because they charged money to my credit card when none was due. Florida SunPass is the worst!

In July I tried to replenish my account 3 times and always received an error. Was not able to replenish my account due to their system problems... My father passed away that same month and had to fly out on emergency and while I was gone, with funeral costs and all my account went into negative because of all the expenses involved... Then SunPass suddenly started debiting my account and causing overdraft fees. They did not refund the money because they said it was not their fault. Told them wait a minute, if their system would have been working properly this never would have happened. Still said it was not their fault and would not refund a dime! Spoke to a Alexis **... Really bad customer service!!! Rick Scott is the biggest liar for saying that they would give us our overdraft fees back.

I go to Orlando once every couple of months, so I don't need a lot of prepaid tolls. I tried to add funds (first time since the summer "upgrade"). For security issues, I don't want the site to save my card information, and that is one of the choices, Option 3 of 3. I hit submit button once, and got the "Fix errors below" error message. What errors? The radio button has flipped to Option 1: Save card for Easy autopayments. Which I absolutely do not want. Changed it back, and now the error says my card info is invalid (it ain't). Can't proceed.

I take it they are trying to trick you into giving them permission to keep your card info, and then they can charge you $20 every day whether you use the tolls or not like so many people are complaining about. I'll stop the 5 times on the road between here and Orlando and pay cash. Who sold our roads to these jerks, anyway? Vote them out!

SunPass began charging me $30 a week for what they said were backdated charges. They have dates and times of toll charges when my car was parked as I had flown to Oregon for 10 days. They have me on routes in Leesburg at 5 am and on University when I am clocked in at my job. Sometimes 6 or 7 charges within minutes of each other when I don't use toll roads in my commute. Now I took my card off the autopay and the transponder completely out of my car and they are still racking up toll charges at the rate of $30 a week. They said they don't take video of my car going through tolls but refuse to remove any of the fake charges. They also will not close the account because it's now in a negative balance.

I am a tourist who has visited the US several times and stayed for about 3 months each visit, I decided to purchase a vehicle and also a movable SunPass. I had to come back to my country but I didn't want to close my SunPass account since I thought I might use it whenever I went back. SunPass has been charging to my account tolls I have NOT used since I'm not driving my car because I'm NOT even in the USA!!

I've complained about 5 times now and they just close my case telling me the case seems to be resolved now on my account but they do NOTHING about it! I kept my account open so I could show proofs of the tolls and information, but they just kept replenishing my account, and now that I decided just to close. The account, not only they do not close it but also they don't give me the money left back. THIS IS DELINQUENCY. THEY ARE STEALING MONEY! BEWARE AND DON'T GET A SUNPASS EVER! From now on I'll pay my tolls cash if I ever come back to USA.

There are 2 vehicles on my account that are not mine and I am being charged for their tolls. I contacted Sunpass and explained the situation and asked to be refunded for these charges. They replied by email a few days later saying that my complaints were not verified and my case was now closed. Meanwhile these vehicles tolls are still being charged to my account. I complained again and again. I got a reply stating we already told you your case is closed. This is ridiculous.

They charged my SunPass for tolls it was physically impossible to be at with the timestamps provided. Tolls 30 mins apart but 1.5 hours in reality. They close tickets without even contacting. I asked for proof it was my vehicle since they had a problem with their tolls. (Billing 30 days later!) They couldn't provide me with anything! Lying scumbags rip people off and aren't accountable. There should be some sort of audit.

I was charged double the toll amount by their system, not sure the exact reason but it was also showing that I was driving a 3 Axle vehicle which I did not. When I filed a dispute online, I got an email stating that I will receive a response within two days. It's been a month now and no answer. I had called as well to know when I will get the credit back, but the operator had no answer when I will get my credit back. I know the toll dollars are small figures but people need to check their account to see this type of activities. When I opened another request online, instead of fixing the issue, they closed the previous request just to get back at me. This is very unprofessional, VERY POOR customer service.

We had auto pay with this people and they were charging me $20 every single day and even 2 times a day. I was away from Friday 08/31 until Wednesday 09/5/18. Upon my return I was surprised that I had been charged $20 every day since I left and even after I canceled their services, they made me pay $80 for cancellation and another $20 the day after. After the cancellation I started paying my tolls at the booth. To my surprise even though I had paid at the booth they are charging my tag for having gone through the toll plaza. I spoke to the supervisor named Kathlin who would not speak to me and hung up the phone while I am trying to figure out why they are double charging me for something I had already paid. It seems to me that they are surely taking advantage of unsuspecting drivers and if I had not checked my statement they surely would have continued charging my account for more than what should have been.

Cancelled our account and it was verified by SunPass on 7-3-2018 and now over two months later still no refund of the funds we had in our account! We called and all they said is that they did not know why!!! The Florida Government is unable to do a professional job no matter what. Rick Scott is to blame. SunPass wants their exorbitant toll fees but WILL NOT REFUND someone who no longer needs the service. This is totally ILLEGAL!

Outrageously high toll fees and overcharging my account - I have been using SunPass for about system for about 6 months and for the first 4 months it was going good. The last two months they have overcharging me and every other day taking money out of my automatic payment account, I had to change it from automatic because it was ridiculous how much they were taking out. I have read of many other customers having the same issues.

If I could give SunPass as a company minus 10 stars, I would! They overcharged my credit card $125.00 and I had to go through the trouble of blacking out charges on my credit card statement (other than the SunPass charges), scanning them and emailing them to SunPass. They then told me this was insufficient to show the SunPass charges and said I should send the complete statement!!! I told them that was ALL I had showing what SunPass charged me, and my other charges were NONE OF THEIR BUSINESS!! She then told me I could "try" faxing it in or go to a SunPass office, which is a two hour drive for me. I told her this was insanity and I should not have to spend my time, money and gas to recover money that they took from me. My next step is to call the Florida Attorney General's Office, Consumer Protection and see what they suggest.

SunPass is charging me 175.00 in tolls as an error cause the was supposedly on a update. First they started taking more money from my credit card. When I finally noticed in 3 months they withdrew over 340.00 which I never even used in 7 months, I called multiple times. 1st I left my number to call cause the wait time was 62 minutes, 2nd I waited more than an hour. Finally when I had a rep on the phone she couldn't hear me, told me there was a problem with the system, I then called back a week later. Was on hold for hour and 15 minutes. I spoke to a customer service rep that could not explain the situation and told me the system is down and, "You have to pay no matter what," I told her that it is not the customer's fault that the system has overcharged thousands of customers.

All she can say is that I had to pay and everybody else that there was a big problem and there was a high volume of calls. When I seen that they were taking money out of my card I canceled the EZpay and let the account stay at the 175.00 I supposely owed and will try not to use SunPass. I really think they should get sued. Customer service is horrible due to the fact that these reps have to deal with this situation that is not their fault and lie to millions of customers. The state should cancel the contract with SunPass. SunPass makes Florida look like they are a rip-off state. I refuse to pay for something I didn't use and by being a customer since 2011 I think it's time to look elsewhere for toll service.

It took 37 minutes to answer the phone and I have been online with them for 57 minutes to activate a portable transponder. They could not activate it and asked me to retune it to Publix and get another one. I wish I can use my E-ZPass from Virginia. It is very easy as it says. SunPass should call themselves HILLPASS. I do not recommend dealing with this company if you don't have to and if you do I feel sorry for you.

I had been charged over $350 in the last two months, I have automatic withdrawals every time my account gets to 20 and every time I check my account says it’s -21 and obviously keeps charging me $25 daily. Also tolls that I never go through for almost $1.91 each. I was 2 hour on hold and after the lady in the phone keep arguing that my account was only charged 5 times instead of the 18 times I actually showing her my bank statements, she hanged up on us and nothing was resolved.

I had to dispute those transactions with my bank but they have been still charging me even though I blocked them. Obviously they have been hacked and most of their transactions are going somewhere else. Even though they aren’t aware of this extra payments someone needs to do something and make them liable for their failure of keeping our account information safe. Attached shows the charges they received and pic two shows the fraudulent charges totaling $450 (two months period). Unspeakable!!!

SunPass has been taking out money this month August 2018. I had trusted them to be taking out what is due, but I’m to the point where there is just no way I’ve used 800.00 worth of tolls in the month of July. It’s not possible. They have shotgunned 20 debits of 40.00 over a 30 day period. When they were at 200.00 around the 6th of August I called them to ask what is going on they said they were making up for no charges in July. I was ok. I will look over my account and do the math. Well this past two weeks they took out an additional 600.00.

I tried calling them today. The wait time is 163 minutes so I’m guessing this isn’t just happening to me. The real problem is I can’t look over my statement with any accuracy being I’m not seeing what the current charges are. I can only see from July backwards. I called my bank and had them stop allowing SunPass to take any more money from my account. Until they fix their system they can expect to not get any money from me. I would be happy to jump in on a class action lawsuit with the rest of the state.

Not to mention the high pricing of tolls, that it is actually increasing more and more, this company should definitely redesign their policies. They started a supposed update of the system, and it has become a disgrace for most residents in Miami (and I suppose than not only for us). The toll they did not get during the re-structuring period they are getting them now, but how do I know they are being fair to me? No one explained that me as a customer, which could have been through a simple letter. Right now I have been on the phone for 1 hour waiting to talk to someone and nothing. They get more money and more money, and we just sit here waiting for the next charge.

Such a big company should have been ready for the change, otherwise should not have done it. But I understand, that is the best way to justify a more expensive service. This is abusive to people, and on top of all this a shameful customer service that does not care about the time you waste trying to reach someone to get explanations about all this. Definitely a great company to make you feel stressed and mad, and inexplicable service in a country like ours. God protect America from this company!

When the customers returned the car there where no charges of tolls so I didn't collect money from them. 2 month after SunPass is billing me for all these transaction. Can I file or hire anyone to help me prevent these charges.

I drive the toll daily for work and get reimbursed for work. Since the system upgrade, really downgrade, I'm unable to retrieve a statement for June and July. Customer Service simply apologizes and says they are working on it. Well, when you've finished working on it, then I'll work on getting a reimbursement from my employer, and then work on making restitution for the ACTUAL tolls used. Horrid!

Since the end of July, I have been charged 7 times to replenish my transponder. SunPass has an issue with their maintenance process and the customers are being affected not the business. You are affecting not just me but many other with these actions and eventually a class action lawsuit will happen. STOP with the CHARGES... at the end of the day you are the only ones benefiting from these actions. Many people live on a budget and your actions are hurting those on a budget. I have had to stop using the highway to get to work until the fees stop coming in. There is no way to stop the replenishing and they are happening every 2 to 3 days. STOP this... This is not the way to treat consumers who rely on the highways to get to work and home. Mr. Scott do something. If there was a way to give a negative score this issue would receive a -10 at least.

At this rate I'll be putting money on my pass everyday to cover all the multiple charges or take a different route home. I have been using SunPass for a few years now and this is the 1st time anything like this has happened.

On June 19th I called and purchased a transponder from this company. They charged my Amex card $22 for this item. I was told by a customer service agent I would receive the item in 5 business days. Ten day later I called again. One person said it's been delayed. The other a supervisor said it was shipped on June 26th and I should get it any day. Called again July 5 and I was given the same runaround by multiple members of their call center. On July 13th I called and was told that it been shipped and it should be there any day. I opened a dispute on their online page and a few days later the dispute was closed because "the issue has been resolved". On July 27th I spoke to three people in their call center who gave me three different stories.

I finally got an office manager Shelia who told me that I will have the item by the following Thursday. She was going to personally see to it that shipping gets it in the mail once our conversation ended. I told her I'd ring and ask for her on Aug 3rd if I haven't received it. It is now August 6th, I rang Sunpass today and was placed on hold for almost 90 minutes. Once I finally got a representative I asked to speak with Shelia and was told that she's there but it's not possible for me to speak to her. I left my number and still have not received a call. It has now been 7 weeks since my card was charged and I was promised a transponder by this company. The only thing I've gotten in return is empty promises and an upset spouse who has had her commute extended 25 mins more than it should currently be.

I've been trying for 2 months to register in the system. After reading all the posts, I'm glad I can't and I will stay far away. When I first moved to the area, I noticed all the maps route you toward 589 in Tampa. I ended up on toll road all the time and bills came left and right that I had rightly suspected I paid. After not being able to register due to HORRIBLE website and NO customer service via phone. I'm done. I'll ride the DMB.

The inability to operate the system correctly is shocking. After several days of the website not being able to function the operators that help with customers service are also unable to help customers. Weeks after waiting for the system to be updated or serviced still we have to do more waiting because the system is not working. The Department of Transportation receives MILLIONS of dollars directly from the government PLUS some more MILLIONS from drivers PAYING THE TOLLS and it is still not working right. Who on earth is pocketing the money and not doing the job??

Received a toll enforcement invoice in the mail. Shows 1 photo of my truck & license plate on the toll road. I did use 589 Florida toll road on the date. I paid tolls at every plaza. I called FDOT 888 824-8655 and spoke with an FDOT employee. I told her I paid at every plaza. She said that I got off and on the toll parkway 4 times at unattended toll collection booths and did not pay. For 1 I never got off the parkway until Tampa airport exit. So Florida has a scam ripoff going on. So yes I'll pay the FLORIDA STATE thieves and get my satisfaction in my own personal way!!! I paid it just because that's how they get you - threatening that you pay or they will send you to a credit agency. This needs to be more controlled. Nowhere on the invoice did it explain what I was actually being charged for. I went thru the toll booth and paid at each stop. It was a total surprise to get the invoice in the mail - they must make a lot of money sending it these ** invoices. I usually don't complain about things but this needs to be stopped. Total bs.

I thought she must have been mistaken. Well, I paid every toll everytime and just got a letter. I told her and she said she has 3 letters. It is a scam and for $5 I’m sure everyone just pays it. It’s wrong to pay and then be accused of cheating. I don’t cheat. I paid the tolls. There is nothing you can do except go to court to fight it. Who is doing that over $5?? I guess you should hold up the line and get a receipt when traveling in Florida. Really, really makes me mad.

We received a bill for supposedly 1 year, we used 3 tolls daily, that makes $3 a day times 365 days (I know we don't use them every day, not Saturday or Sunday) but just for the sake of the numbers, so how much is that? $1095. Again I know that there are some weeks that I work or used the tolls only 3 days a week. So when we received a bill for $2000 dollars and started to compare some of the charges on days we did not work, they were still charging us the 3 tolls!!! We called and we were told they have different companies handling the tools so maybe we had more charges!!! Are you serious???

Now my registration is on hold, my tag is expired and they still saying that this is the amount we have to pay! How insane is this situation with the SunPass and tolls in Miami Dade, it feels like we are being robbed by our government and force to pay what we don't owe. Why is it that we have these tolls and our expressways are not even working, there is construction all over and the traffic is horrible, so tell me why do we pay for these tolls just to be in traffic for hours and on top of that we are robbed plain and simple!

They double post tolls, repeat days charge even if you don't pass by the tolls the days you are not working, come on. We are trying to make a living and it is hard as it is, to have to pay $2000 dollars of fictitious tolls! I don't know what to do, I can't pay this amount and they won't even review the info of the repeated tolls showing in our account. So mad that our county and officials are letting these people ripoff many drivers who sadly need to use the expressways in Miami. I hope the Media, news or someone expose these crooks and for this mafia to be held accountable for their crimes. Desperate family man in Miami.

DO NOT USE THE EXPRESSWAY EVER!!! Doesn't matter if it's 40 cents or $40 or if you even paid it off, you will be paying at least 3x's more. These are 5 different agencies who DO NOT UPDATE THEIR INFO, RECYCLE CONSUMER INFORMATION and you WILL be paying more than once. I have been given 3 different bills (all the same amount, down to the cent) by three "different agencies" that are FDOT Expressway collectors. They have threatened to suspend my license and stop my registration if I do not pay this for A FOURTH TIME!

6 months ago when I went to renew my registration, I was told that I had to pay or my registration couldn't be renewed. I knew I had already paid them but I had been at the DMV for 3 hours and just wanted it to be over. When I did finally pay, I was told this would not affect me again, all of my delinquent tolls have been paid, and my registration was finally released.

I work from home outside of Tampa so there is no reason for me to go there, except in special cases (which are rare) when I have to make a drop at a client's home. I did this a few weeks ago and unwittingly got onto the expressway. Now, all of the sudden MY DELINQUENT FEES THAT I HAVE ALREADY PAID OFF ARE BACK!!! Same amount down to the cent from a brand new agency! What a coincidence! Just do yourself a favor and, not only don't take the expressway, just don't come to this mosquito-ridden, money-grubbing, morally bankrupt state. Thanks Rick Scott, we can always count on you to empty our pockets and take food out of our children's mouths!??

I was sent to collections over 48 cents... The only times SunPass tried to reach out to me was once by mail to a 3 year outdated address (which I will admit I should have changed, but honestly thought it was updated per my vehicle registration) and 1 email which they can't even prove they sent to me. Then I was sent to collections for $54.48 ($45 fee from SunPass and $9 fee from collections). Collections didn't even get the chance to reach out to me about this as I had contacted SunPass for my fiancé since the transponder wasn't working and we assumed a battery was dead. Now my 790 credit score will be dropping by 100+ points, all over 48 cents? Really SunPass? Is that too great of a fee for you to just write off? Now you've long term-affected my buying and borrowing future for a balance less than a candy bar. No doubt I will be getting my fiancé an E Pass now and will make sure that SunPass never get another dime from me.

We traveled through Orlando to Miami area during the Christmas, paid countless times whenever we saw a toll station. But I still received a toll invoice document back home around mid-January. As the document was accidentally lost, I called the SunPass customer service. The first agent told me the toll is $20 somewhat, which does not match the amount on the doc letter I got by mail ($2.5). So I made it clear to him that I want my document ID and account no. so that I can review the doc online and pay it. He provided me with the account no. I entered it on my computer right away but the page said not found.

Then I asked if he had the document ID, he said all he had is the account no. Not knowing what to do, I asked him to hold on for a few seconds and let me re-enter the information. He became very impatient and kept repeating he will get me offline within 2 minutes (I am 100% sure no more than 30s passed). No further information or solutions he tried to offer after I told him I was not able the see the document even I typed in the account no. he gave. Obviously, he did not care a thing about assisting the customer to solve their problem and just wanted to get rid of us.That attitude and the unwillingness to do his job completely pissed me off.

I called again because ridiculously there's no other way I can review the toll document. The second agent told me I couldn't login with the account no. because the information hasn't been updated in the system yet. But how could that even happen? I received it by mail two weeks ago. Again, the agent did not have any solutions and fell silent. I said, "what I can do is to sit and wait for the doc to arrive by mail probably in Feb?" She said, "yep." Besides how they charge you as a scam(you never know why you still get a toll no matter how carefully you make sure you go through the toll stations), their customer service is the worst. I don't even know why they set up so called "customer service" if they don't really want to assist their customers. The whole system is poorly operated just to charge you money.

As most others have noted, this seems to be a big scam the state of Florida is running. Bills come left and right for tolls, most of which aren't valid AND many are duplicates that aren't sent as such. Oh then, you have the ones that don't come as a bill at all and instead go straight to collections. Had collections bill come and not once had that been previously billed or given the opportunity to have it be paid. To add to that, all bills have been paid also, so there should be NO collections bill, period. It's a serious scam they're running because there's literally no way to deal with these idiots and yet if you don't pay...even if you don't truly owe anything, they can take your registration and even license. It's really unreal. I hope at some point a class action lawsuit is started, because they'll have millions in on it!

And it took a year. Call Florida police and police has excellent customer service. CSR needs to send to a Florida police station to get some training. This year, the company did that again. I need to contact higher up like the head of Florida Transportation and Governor.

I am living in France and I need a help. I was in Miami the 6th of September to 10th. I rent a car and I accepted to be charged for 4 days SUNPASS. But when I took the road I saw that the governor of Florida was cancelled all tolls because the hurricane. I returned to the agency and the agent said to me that I will not be charge for that because he didn't know that it was cancelled. Now the agency are saying: the Sunpass sticker is set up (placed at the windshield) which causes and automatically charged with the amount that you already prepaid. Is it right? How something can be charged if it (Sunpass) wasn't work during theses days? I would like to know if the agency is lying. Thank you for your feedback.

I try to check how much money I have used on my transponder but the page never works. I try on my Notebook. Doesn't work. Try on my cell phone. Doesn't work. Try different browser. Same thing, never works. The customer service close at 7 pm so now you can't do nothing.

I was a customer of Bright House back in 2015, I was charged $99 plus tax for internet services that they only charged $35 for... Can't even understand the level of anger about this. Fought back and forth about that only to get one credited bill and then upsold to TV and internet for $99 but the bill was never ever that either... Bill was $145 after taxes and fees. I couldn't keep up with calling every month for adjustments etc. So I closed out the account but kept the equipment. Called to get the understanding that disputing the bill but keeping the equipment with the intention to come back.

2017 I move and come back. I called. Explained the arrangement I had with keeping the equipment. They said we see your old bill etc will credit the equipment since you coming back. Turned in the TV portion of the equipment but is currently using the internet box. Promo with Spectrum was as promised. Was happy... Come home today they said I had an old bill so I need to pay over $300 to restore service. My current account mind you is paid on time and in full. No mention ever of anyone of this old bill business. In fact my first bill on the new account doesn't even say I ever owed anything previously. NEVER once mentioned I owed anything over and beyond the credits given for returned/ in use equipment.

They said there's not ENOUGH notes to determine what the details I was disputing or offers I was saying. So because I didn't call back after EVERY call to check for notes on my account I am held responsible for an old bill I already disputed with a company that doesn't even exist anymore. Told by 4 different managers there's nothing to be done. I switched providers as I'm on the phone with them and they say that's my option. NON caring company that could care less about any promise that was made or broken... Don't believe ANYTHING that anyone tells you even if you have it in writing.

I was charged $.075 and in additional $2.50 Administrative Charge for passing through a SunPass toll when my E-pass was low on funds. People who have E-Passes should not be charged because we already have an account that SunPass accepts. I will do anything to let the media knows about my issue and other people issues.

Traveled to Florida, St. Pete/Tampa area 1 month ago for vacation. When going from St. Pete to Tampa we paid tolls numerous times, never missing or skipping a toll booth. A month later received a letter from SunPass stating we had unpaid toll transactions. As soon as I the bill I realized or felt the whole system is a scam or ripoff as the exact same thing happened a few years ago when we were in the same area & received a bill saying we had "skipped" a toll, again showing pic of vehicle and license plate. Paid the toll at the time but I knew we had skipped nothing, and paid all tolls.

Called this time and rep. said some roads have no toll booths and it was "normal" to get the bill in the mail; I told her there was no roads with a sign indicating that and that we had stopped and paid ALL tolls where a toll was indicated. After reading all the reviews, my belief that this whole system is a huge money making scam for SunPass and Florida DOT was confirmed. Everyone should file complaints with the attorney general's office as I plan to do and/or if living in Florida, contact their local state rep.

Here's a good one... I got a bill for a toll infraction the other day. It was addressed to my deceased Uncle that pass away in 2014. The photo on the bill was of a late 70's car which I don't own, and it was on a trailer. You couldn't read the tag number. The tag number they had was something weird and didn't match any tag I own. I had to call and explain that the name on the bill was my deceased Uncle, and the car/tag in question is not mine, plus that I have not left my hometown in several years, so I could not have drove through a toll. Spent 10 minutes on the phone with a rep. I was told it would take 7 to 10 business days to figure out. How the hell can something like this happen? Maybe a fake tag created a glitch in their computer system and I got the business end of it! What a joke! By the way; the bill is for a minor $4.61. Sunpass needs to fix their messed up system! IT DOES NOT WORK!

I purchased a car in another state and it was delivered to me on Feb. 15th 2017. The car had a temporary plate and so I put my SunPass on the car. That SunPass works as long as it has money on it no matter what vehicle it on. However, instead of MDX charging my SunPass each time I used the car they charged me manually but have a photo of the car and the TAG. When the temporary tag expired, both SunPass and MDX was charging me electronically and manually instead of charging my SunPass.

When I took it up with SunPass, they claimed that someone went into my account and took the tag off the account. But I was still being charged by both SunPass and MDX on the same day from January to present. When I called today regarding my concerns, not only the rep gave her supervisor the phone, she did not have the common courtesy or professional etiquette to informed me that she was turning the call over to her supervisor. That tells me the quality mindset of the people working at SunPass. I don't know what preposterous logic they were using but neither the Rep nor the Supervisor had a clue to what was going on. I eventually figured it out and it had nothing to do with anyone taking anything off the account or the tag. It was their fault. They have idiots working at both MDX and SunPass.

I constantly get charged $25 from SunPass. I call them and they can't tell me why it's happening. On my bank app I always see that charge and I don't even use the highway but maybe once a month and I'm getting charged all this money. Can someone explain to me what's happening? I wish they would bring back the toll booth. These machine are garbage.

If there was a toll booth we stopped at it, unless there is a stealth booth between the Orlando Airport and Sanford, FL on a day when I was not in Orlando. There is no way to dispute it, and it's easier just to pay it. Florida has one hell of a scam going here.

I found out that my $2 toll got sent to collections although I had not gotten a bill. I complained to Attorney General and got a call from an amazingly helpful person who sorted it out and said she would train her staff based on listening to my calls with them. I was given a refund for unsubstantiated charges and AM TOTALLY SATISFIED and IMPRESSED by SunPass! They probably rolled out their system too early and thankfully are committed to fixing problems. Call them! Ask for supervisor if needed. I got taken care of.

I have NO option when it comes to tolls in South Florida. This state has only a few highways and if I need to get on the turnpike which is about 3 times a year, I get fined for not having a transponder. Seems to me there should be at least 1 other option for those who can not afford a transponder (living paycheck to paycheck) and those who hardly use the highways. Instead we are penalized and charged a processing fee. This clearly shows there is no consideration for this other group of people. It would be great to have a solution to this. This All or Nothing shows only 1 side. The side of the $. Let be a people state also and show a bit of concern for those who can't afford a transponder or those of us whom it isn't worth or can't afford to spend 35$ on a transponder and 10$ fill up. Thank you.

In March of 2017, I took the Veterans Expressway from Crystal River to Tampa. I paid all the tolls at the toll booths by cash. Here it is April 10, 2017, and I received a bill from these for a toll they said I didn't pay. They said this was an electronic toll on the expressway itself and not an exit or entrance. There was no notification of this "electronic toll pass" on the expressway. This is pure highway robbery and the only difference is that these people are not wearing masks like they supposedly did in the old west. I have a friend who works for federal law enforcement and he is checking on this to see if the state of Florida can be held legally responsible for this contracted company. More updates later.

I have an old pickup truck in my backyard that has not moved in 3 years. Tag has been dead for two years. I got a notice of tool due. The pic on the notice is not my vehicle. Not even close. The tag in pic is unreadable. I called the number on the notice and explained this. They took my tag away from me. Pay up or else they keep adding to charges. They called me a liar. That it was my vehicle in the pic. I went to tag office. They told me it was not their problem. This is EXTORTION and guilty til proven innocent but they are the government so I am closed off proving. Does anyone know who I can go to? I have pics to prove truck has been sitting for 3 years and the tag bolts are rusted on I had to rip the tag off the truck.

I noticed that I wasn't being charged for my SunPass account so called the 888 number to follow up. There were two accounts - one had been sent to collections, the other was in good standing. The rep explained that collections had to be paid first, then the account in good standing would be discounted. Fine! Paid the collections account and called back after a week to settle the other account. The rep gave me three different amount $61, $47 & $50. There is no credibility with this company! It'll get done when I renew my license. With all the technology we have, WHY doesn't a national toll system exist?!?!

Apparent I have added a rental car to my account for a day more than a year ago for a 1-day rental. Turns out either I typed expiration year 2060 by mistake or their IVR system misunderstood 2016 as 2060. In short, I have been paying for a 1-day car rentals SunPass for over a year. Their system has no checks and balances as no one will rent a car for 46 years. They refused to refund me a dime.

For nearly a year, I have had to provide SunPass with my address so they could send me the bills monthly. They have always had trouble with mailing my invoices so that I may pay them on time. Because of their incompetence, I have had to pay for accumulated bills multiple times, leaving me at a financial disadvantage. For months I have had to call them to provide the same address I have been living at for about 5 years. Their system will not keep the address and as a result, I would not receive the documents to make the payments on time, leaving me to pay additional fees. They have charged me an accumulated $214.00 without sending me invoices and/or placing the invoices on my account to review. I only have invoices from 2013-2015 from my previous car. How am I to know what has to be paid if I'm not receiving any documents by mail or the correct information in my account online. This is a scam without a doubt.

Their customer service rep explained to me that when you register online, you would no longer receive invoices by mail. The supervisor then came on and explained that I should still receive invoices by mail even if I did register online. Someone please help me and give me the truth!! Inaccurate information on their website!! False information provided by staff!! Inability to send the necessary documents to the customer's address because their faulty system cannot keep it on file!!! For all I know, the charges can be false!!! They themselves cannot prove otherwise. My advice: contact an attorney for immediate legal advice or contact the media to expose the company.

I just received a bill for $767 that dates back to 2013 through 2015! Have a SunPass account, and have still had to pay bills they send me even with that account. This bill is all for one specific toll booth on 417 in Orlando. There is nothing more on my bill. The sad truth here is you have to pay. There is no option. They hold your registration & license over your head. How can they bill you so long after the fact? This system needs a real overhaul.

I have read many of the reviews about the SunPass FL process regarding billing and to my surprise I am not alone. I tried renewing my tag and was advice to contact two different #s by the DMV as a restriction was place on my renewal due to an outstanding. Now, in ALL expressways and toll areas where there are NO booths a pretty big sign shows stating "We will bill you" which means one will receive correspondence to make a payment. I was told by a representative at the numbers I had to call there is a combine balance of $663.00 for my tag. This includes Tolls from 2014 til 12/2/16. Now let me back up a little, BOTH agents told me the address the correspondence was send to was NOT the one on my license. It was an address I lived in 9 YEARS ago! Keep in mind, I have had my vehicle since 2014 AND renew my tags since then without ANY knowledge of this matter from ANYONE at SunPass.

I question, "How come, been that my assumption is the SunPass communicates with the DMV, was my address not updated since I update my license in 2013." Both agents advice "We do not know." After like any human being I freak out due to one not knowing about this issue AT all and two the ridiculous amount one of the individuals I spoke to explain I could do a dispute thru their website with all the documents showing my address. Forward 45 minutes later and I get a very suspicious phone call from a rep named Brian from area code 561 who proceeds to explain to me how the previous representative had given incorrect information because they (magically) now show the bill were send to the correct and current address.

Again, I flipped out and asked for a supervisor. This time I spoke to a guy named Angel ** who not only made me more upset he pretty much treated like a criminal. The one question no one I spoke to today could answer was why was my address never updated. This man had the audacity to yelled at me at tell me "The restriction cannot be remove but if you pay half of the balance we can lifted." My issue with this nightmare is how do they bill me TWO years later, insult my intelligence trying to tell me the correct address was used when it wasn't and tell me there is nothing that can be done but if I pay half of it then you can all while not answering ANY of my questions.

I am seeking legal assistance because I will not pay any of the late or administrative fees for an error I didn't commit. The Tolls are about .79/.85 so how it add up to $663 is as baffling to me as it is to you trust me. What lesson you can learned by reading this? The same one I did this morning, the Sunpass FL is A JOKE and a HUGE SCAM. They do not have the correct information to bill you properly or correctly and will be quick to cause you the utmost aggravation you will ever experience in your adult life.

Lastly, after all this phone calls were done. I logged in to submit my dispute and not only did the representative that I had spoke to or supervisor had updated my address as I very kindly advice AND the email address I offer for a itemized statement was incorrect. Please know I alpha-spelled my email to them as well as my address. If anyone has an hour information, tips or additional suggestions please feel free to share.

How can SunPass fine me a violation, while I have EPass auto-replenish and at the time I supposedly committed the toll violation, I had money in my EPass account? It's scam where for certain spots they don't take EPass, charge for violation with an added $2.50 fee, and put a stop on tag/title renewals. They offer to prevent this, by instead getting a SUNPASS auto-replenish account. So basically they are trying to steal all EPass holders by fining them unjustifiably.

This is beyond unfair to us consumers and in my opinion all Sunpass pay-by-toll should be reimbursed to those who paid these, outstanding tickets should be removed, and they should not have the power to not allow one to renew our titles, which exposes us to added chances of getting pulled over by ridiculous excuses, knowing we either have to allow selves to get scammed and pay up or while fighting this and be able to renew, get slapped with expired tag and registration fees. Seems FDOT has nifty scam going on, and they have to be stopped and exposed. The sooner the better! Guess I cannot drive Christmas weekend now, because though I have zero tickets showing anywhere, I cannot renew my tag/title due to bogus, perhaps even double fined fees, thanks to Sunpass.

So I received a bill in the mail for almost 85 dollars for a car that is not mine, has never been mine, and the license plate has never ever been in my name. I called the rep told me to call dmv to provide documents that it is not my plate. After calling the DMV they told me I would have to find the docs on their website and PAY to fill them out and wait 2-3 weeks for toll by plate to receive them. I was not going to pay for something that is not my fault. The car picture in the bill was a Honda civic and I drive a Mazda so I called Honda, the car and plate have never ever been in my name and Honda has no idea why I was the one billed and that I should call toll by plate again to tell you to update your records which another agent put in an esc and I have to wait 5-7 bus days. The car and plate are my ex-husband's car and plate number how my information was obtained to bill me on someone else's car is beyond me.

We travelled to Destin from NC on 10/22/16, crossing the toll bridge on SR 293 at 11:34 am, paying the $4.00 passenger car toll prior to crossing the bridge over to Destin. We left Destin at 6:15 am 10/29/16, again paying the $4.00 passenger car toll at the toll booth. Lo and behold, we get a letter from our car leasing finance company, along with Invoices from the FDOT, with a photo of our license plate stating we owe $6.50 for unpaid tolls!! The lease finance company paid the toll, now we have to roll that into our next car payment. It's not the money, $6.50 won't break us, it's the principle of being ripped off!! Next year, if we return to Destin like we planned, we will NOT be taking the toll road. I would rather go 100 miles out of our way to screw the Florida DOT out of that money rather than go through this again.

I drive thru the i95 express lane 5 days a week because I cannot afford to spend 2 hrs in traffic, sorry. So get a letter stating that a $25 per day violation will post to my acct if the transponder does not read. I had the transponder in my car but I find out my 2017 Jaguar type F has a reflective material in the glass that interferes with the signal of my SunPass. So I called them and they said they have a specialty list of cars that require "bumper mounts" lol, yes bumper mounts. So I call my dealer and they said that they have to be permanently installed (drilled) into front bumper and if your car is a lease then you have to replace the bumper and paint, labor etc. (Lmao).

So I called SunPass and informed them of this information and they informed me that there is nothing they can do about that. So I told them, "Should I drive the whole way on i95 with my hand outside the window waving my SunPass?". They said, 'no'. Actually they asked me if I wanted to close my account. I already pay $5-18 depending on traffic to go express and then they want to rip me off another $25 because they said they have to pay someone to look at license plates. Tell me something people, tolls were 25 cents and people actually had to stand there and collect. Now no people there and $5-$18 without no work and an extra $25 for someone to work and read your plate. We should sue the crap out of SunPass people. Let's get these **.

When you cannot complete a transaction either on the phone or via computer, there's too much bureaucracy. SunPass has proof of my father's death but could not allow me to take over his account and his transponder, even though the money for his account had been coming from my checking account for years. No, I have to buy a new transponder and open a new account. If I had an option of another company, I'd look into it. But SunPass is the only prepaid toll program in the state. I have no options. It offered to let me take a phone survey, but I had to have some number so I could even get to the survey. Yeah, like the people who run SunPass really want to know what customers think.

On the 12th October 2016, I entered the Florida Turnpike at the entrance #99 Okeechobee Blvd, West Palm Beach, headed South exit 58 where I exited. I handed the Toll booth worker my ticket and she said that she does not take tickets, and that I had gone thru a Toll plaza? What I saw no Toll Plaza, she said it's off to the side and a lot of people miss it. She also said I was to call the number printed on the ticket, and I still had to pay $1.25 additional to get off at exit #58.

Upon arriving home I called the number and said I had to wait till I received the ticket. and it will cost me $15.52. The total cost of driving the complete Turnpike from Orlando, FL to Lauderhill, FL. It is my understanding that they know they have a problem and could not care less, pay up or get fined. BTW 1 star is too good a score. As far as I am concerned they can rot in hell with a -100. The State needs to look into this matter. In August of last year a army buddy came down to see me, and he was traveling across the state from Naples, FL to Fort Lauderdale via 595 headed to I95. He also got a $35 ticket in the mail. He said that there was no signs toll both or exits. I would just love a class action lawsuit against these robbers. PS. I will not ever use the turnpike again.

I went through two Florida tolls in the Tampa, Fl area late Sept 2016 and paid my tolls into the basket they had for toll deposits, and the green light came on saying go. Couple weeks later I get a bill for both toll instances saying I owed! I called, was told first baskets had been taken off their tolling areas. Lie. What did I do, dream this? Second, was told I had to pay, that they had a picture of my license plate. So what, I paid and was given a go light and you couldn't even see the car or area I was in (that would show a basket) because the photo was dark otherwise... how convenient. I paid my extortion amount to just get it handled and done with. Multiply this instance and others in the same situation and how many fraudulent dollars is this agency collecting a year... hundreds... thousands... over years... millions?

I received a toll ticket for passing. I didn't even pass nor was in the general vicinity. This is absolutely outrageous and the whole time I am typing this I have already been on hold with Customer Service. They claim the vehicle had my license plate when just the first two numbers were off. Obviously the person who typed up the invoice, which can do serious damage to my credit, needs to be reprimanded to the extreme. The whole situation is absolutely stupid and I hope to never visit Florida so someone won't accidentally have a SIMILAR license and get wrongfully charged like me. I live in New York and the picture of the license plate SHOWED THE REAL LICENSE NUMBER WHICH WAS NOT MINE. This company is delusional and offers no help.

I hate to even give them one star. This is one of the biggest rip offs I've seen since the Ponzi Scam. They bill you months later. Add fees for not paying on time, add interest for not paying on time. They have NO PROGRAM set up so drivers can renew their tag. There are over 400,000 drivers in Dade County alone that cannot renew their auto tag due to (continuous fees and interest added each month) outstanding toll bills. If you didn't have the money when it was a cash paying business with real people taking the tolls this was never the case. Even if you have the money you must just drive thru the lane and pay the consequences. SOMEONE NEEDS TO TAKE ACTION AND HELP DRIVERS GET THEIR TAGS SO THEY CAN GO TO WORK!!!

Never, while I was living in the state of FL, did I receive a bill for Sunpass lanes. I admit I took it a few times, though I did try to avoid it. My roommate borrowed my vehicle and constantly took the damned toll roads! While I could strangle her, it's worth paying just to be rid of her. My first problem with this, is that I did offer to pay, but they wanted half up front. Well, I will pay the first half to the collection agency on the first, then in September I will pay the rest of what I owe to the state. I will never set foot in FL again. The governor is an establishment corrupt moron who doesn't know his backside from his front! He should be drawn and quartered, along with Hitlery and Obozo.

This is just to state, my intent to pay. I hated living in FL. To bill me nearly a year after I have moved out of state is highly unethical, because I was expecting to pay it before I left. (Like within 30 days of the violation! VA contacts you three days later!) There needs to be signs posted, and there needs to be a way to avoid the toll roads once you're on. All the roadwork on the highway there makes it virtually impossible to avoid the toll lanes! Fix your damned roads and stop preying on your citizens! The worst state I have ever lived in!

I keep getting charges with pictures even though I have an active Sunpass account. I've tried numerous times to settle this with Sunpass but each time they say they will call me back, but NEVER do. They admit my Sunpass account is active and funded but do nothing to resolve my problem. Now these charges are turned over to a collection agency. I want this situation resolved immediately. I have had a Sunpass account for many years that's automatically funded. Why is this agency allowed to act so negligently.

My name has been removed from the list this company was using. Yet the woman I spoke with said it could be possible for me to receive incorrect invoices from other Florida tolling companies in the future but, if so, contact her and she'll resolve the problem.

I received an invoice for a toll violation in Florida yet the problem is that #1 I never have driven in or been in by car and #2 I don't even have a car! I am unsure how they got my name or whose car with that license place is registered to! I called and they said it will take 7-10 business days to check the case and that they will call back between 7-10 business days!

SunPass (working for the Miami-Dade Airport Parking) took $357 out of my account when I had a $17 parking total for 12 hours at Miami International Airport. It is has proven impossible to get my money back. I have received so many apologies but not my money back. SunPass literally debited my checking account and gave it to MIA in error. Now after 15 days I am told to continue to wait while they investigate.

I have been told the check has been cut by SunPass but waiting approval. I have been told SunPass is waiting for Miami-Dade and they are to blame and SunPass is trying to get my money back as a courtesy to me... HA! I was told by SunPass that if you had money taken incorrectly by a Visa or MasterCard for a vendor you would go to the vendor... I actually corrected him and told him ("Licio" a "manager" at SunPass) that Visa/MC would give you the money back and go after the vendor if there was fraud. Too bad SunPass doesn't have customer service like Visa/MC.

Every day I call, every day I am told the same thing by the "managers" at SunPass... "We feel bad but we can't do anything. We have to wait for Miami-Dade to tell us we can give you your money back". Every day goes by and every day the SunPass and Miami-Dade County hold my money hostage in what any other situation would be call theft.

Never put your SunPass on auto debit or EasyPay... If they make a mistake, you will have to fight harder than with your cousin to get your money back. Just simple theft on the part of SunPass, Miami-Dade County, MIA and their parking system. In the real world, people go to jail for stealing $350, for Miami-Dade County and SunPass, it's just another day at the office.

Some few weeks ago, driving north on Eisenhower Boulevard in Tampa, FL, I got in the wrong lane accidentally and found myself on the on ramp of the Veteran's Expressway with no toll booth and no way to turn around except proceed to the next exit which was less than one mile. I turned around there and exited the Expressway.

I would have gladly paid the normal $.25 toll for that short distance. Instead the camera had taken my license plate number and I got an invoice in the mail for $3.03. That amount included a $2.50 service charge. I paid this but I am frankly outraged and incensed. For getting in a wrong lane and getting off at the first exit, this charge is absolutely ridiculous.

There has been a lot of road construction and changes in that area in the recent past, so many changes and so many lanes it is confusing especially for someone who does not have occasion to travel the area on a daily basis. Nailing people an amount that would be owed for a full trip up the Veterans for a few yards to a turnaround is positively despicable in my opinion.

Scammers working in collusion with SunPass. I pay the MDX tolls via SunPass and then MDX sends me a separate bill even though they are already charging me through SunPass. Constantly having to prove to them that I've already paid their tolls. They even have a separate website for disputing claims! They know what they are doing and I'm shocked it's allowed. Waiting to join a class action lawsuit against these scammers. 1 star only because it's the lowest rating.

First, they have 2 (at least 2) Toll-By-Plate administrative groups. First you get a bill from FDOT, then you get a bill from MDX. Second, the cost, based on my last trip, is $.25/mile. Take 95.

MISLEADING organization. Some places unless you know the trick to get around the toll you have no choice. SCAM!!

Adding money to your SunPass transponder is a real pain. I'm surprised when the process goes well and hate to have to use the site when my balance is low. It is the only bill online that can take hours or days to get the site to process a payment, having to log in several times to see if the site is going to work. Their customer service phone number does not even confirm you are talking to SunPass, you are not prompted an option to make a payment before they start asking questions and trying to connect you to a insurance company. I have insurance and it's up to date. I'm VERY DISSATISFIED with their service more often than not. The customer service # listed on their site is 1-888-Toll-FLA.

Updated on 06/04/2016: SunPass once again. I received notice my balance is low - went to make payment and their system will not process. This is an update - I had the same issue last month, after several days I was able to get their system to process the payment. I'm going to pay cash at the tolls now. I see SunPass offers classy stores "sarcasm" Amscot, or other places no one ever heard of where you can make prepaid payments. Not Like Publix or Walgreens, CVS.

I have not been receiving Invoices from MDX for some time. In November of 2015 somehow they update the address to an address I've never registered to... ever! I only found out of this change by logging in with one of my old invoices. I called them and they told me the DMV did such change. I called the DMV because just recently I had to update my tag and they have the right address on file. So how is this problem mine?? I called them back to let them know the dmv has the correct address on file and so that they can bill me for the right amount: no 33% fee, no late fee and to adjust to Sunpass discount amount. Since this was a system error. But I just told the same nonsense that the dmv made the update and that that is not something they control and that this what I owe...

Yet Sunpass, DMV & MDX are all department of transportation! Had they send me the invoice to the correct address I wouldn't have had this problem! They have the power to issue citations, suspend your license and hold your registration but they cannot make a phone call to the dmv to make sure they have the right address on file? They are currently hearing from my lawyer. Enough is enough.

I've been paying for school out of pocket, working full time and barely get by. I contacted Sunpass so I can activate a new transponder for my new car and they advised me that I cannot activate transponder unless I take care of a past due balance I have. The past due balance is $3400 and they are not willing to work with me. I live in Homestead and unfortunately I have to take the highway to get to my job that is located in Dadeland. It's crazy that on top of that I am trying to activate a transponder so I don't keep putting myself more in debt and they allow it.

Sunpass makes it hard for people to pay their balance. The only payment plan they offered was pay half and the rest I need to pay in 6 months. I tried lowering the balance and they won't do that either. They even put a registration hold on my car and I am drowned in debt because of this. I even tried to pay little by little on my own and they said that they would not accept the payment unless it is the full amount. This company is such a Scam and should not be allowed to keep scamming lower class people such as myself.

Do not enroll in EasyPay or in any way give these crooks access to your credit card or bank acct.! My transponder worked entering the parking garage at Orlando Int'l Airport but did not work when I tried to leave. I was gone for 14 days and SunPass had charged my credit card the full fee. Now my SunPass account has over a $200 balance, my transponder inexplicably does not work and I have to pay my parking garage fee from pocket. I contact SunPass and request a refund of payments. It has now been 30 days and no refund!

I traveled Fl Turnpike without transponder entering exit 138 exiting 107 and received a mailed toll violation which I expected. HOWEVER for the cost of the entire turnpike & 14.65! An employee on the phone told me with a transponder the charge would have been $2.20! This is a corrupt system and they are making out like bandits! I made a grievance with them and the administrative cost of $2.50 was taken off my fee. Florida should be ashamed of themselves for supporting such a corrupt system. I will research how to bring this system to a more honest level with updated cameras both ENTERING and EXITING Turnpike. They owe many people LOTS of money as a corrected fee!

I am writing this because I need to vent my frustration. I recently picked my son up at the airport and I paid all tolls on the ride there and back. One month later I receive an invoice with 6 separate charges for the trip. What?!? I paid every toll. I either handed the money to the toll booth operator or put the money in the automated booth change receptacle. I don't know how or why this has happened but I will suck it up and pay it because I have no other recourse. I want to let all the people this has happened to know they are not imagining it and they are not alone!!!

This scam has been going on for years. MDX and Toll-By-Plate have nothing to do with each other. Sometimes even if you have a SunPass, they are charging a $5.00 fee per invoice plus a 33% fee on top of that each and every month. They do not let you make partial pymts to try and clear these huge bills. And to top it all off they now put a hold on your car registration so that you cannot renew your tag until everything is paid. When not paid: suspend your drivers license.

So in other words, they wait until some people are up to over $5000.00 in tolls before suspension!! The big "catch 22" -- you cannot do anything to correct this except pay in full to rectify the situation. So get pulled over, go to jail, and get your license suspended until you can to anything to clear up the situation. A class action lawsuit is what I am checking into. I must know at least 100 people personally who have experienced this same kind of situation!! No one cares or wants to listen or correct so I guess we go after them!!

He didn't help me in any kind of way nor did he explain what the other tolls were for and when on top of that he hung up on me. This is a complete scam and they should be sued.

Although I put in my license plate one letter off I was getting charged for another car that had the similar plate number. I called the SunPass to let them know I was being charged for my transponder number, but I was also getting charged for a car that wasn't mine. It was charged to my account from the license plate not the transponder. I called and asked if they were able to help me change the license plate to my correct license plate, in which they were helpful of doing. But when I asked if I could get a refund because they charge my account not through the transponder but through the license plate the supervisor said that they were unable to credit my account.

While traveling through Orlando on I-4 I decided not to risk the low balance and just to pay the $1.25 toll in cash. But when I stopped at the booth the man prompted I advance even though I had a low balance (basically $0). At the next toll the individual insisted I had enough on my balance for a couple more tolls. On my back from my destination I passed through The low speed EZ Pass instead of the exact change only to be greeted with a loud alarm and a light that never turned green. Unsure if I will receive a ticket or not yet but it is evident the employees are practicing some sort of unethical strategy.

So I am visiting friends in Florida. I have to pay a $3 toll each way to cross a bridge in Destin, FL. Then a few weeks later I receive an invoice for $5.50 for an electronic toll that I never knew about. When I call to dispute the charges they tell me it was for the Mid-Bay Bridge. Well then what was the $3 each way I paid the gentleman at the booth for???

This is a legal SCAM being conducted by the State of Florida. As a result I will never step foot in that state again. I am also visiting every Florida tourism website and the State Attorney General and the State Commerce Website to relay my frustration. They are duping thousands of travelers out of money. That constitutes a SCAM to me!

Friend gets collection notices for tolls he's never been too. Four hours away... who's starting the lawsuit?? We need class action lawsuits. There should be a different way to identify tag number if said numbers are similar. This friend's tag number is similar to another tag that's an out of state tag... and it put a line on tag. With all the knowledge of our current society you would think there would be a better way to identify... so others are not paying for negligent toll users.

I had a ePass transponder account which I used infrequently, but wanted it in case I needed to travel in Florida without the hassle of stopping to pay a toll. So, I recently traveled on a toll road, and to my surprise I received a letter demanding payment of unpaid tolls. I tried to log-in to my account but couldn't. I called the number on the bill and was told that I had reached SunPass and they don't process ePass accounts. I called ePass and gave my account number only to find that they had without notice cancelled my account and kept my $45.00 balance I had on file. No refund. I was a told to "contact the state of Florida." It's simple theft. Stay away from these accounts. Pay as you go. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE ANY MONEY. They will keep it.

Has anyone in Florida received a toll fee notification letter imposing a document fee per toll because it failed to charge your SunPass Account? I have tried to call via telephone and the representative asked me to contact Sunpass and Sunpass representatives asked me to contact Leeway to resolve the issue and no one accepts responsibility to link my account. In the meantime, I pay the tolls and additional fees to prevent my license being suspended for failure to pay tolls. Can anyone provide any feedback?

I called and could not reach a person. Through the automated system I put $200 on my account to exit the Orlando airport parking garage. Upon getting to the lot gates I was told my account had insufficient funds and I had to pay at the gate to leave. The next Monday I received an email saying the $200 payment had posted. SunPass should be required to update their automated system to say: Payments do not necessarily post today, do you want to proceed? Then I could have taken the proper action.

I received an email that my CC was being removed from my account due to expiration. I log in to update the information, and found that I was charged the last four months for tolls in MIAMI less than $ 10.00, so it didn't use the balance in my account or I would have noticed sooner. I live in Broward and do not travel to Miami. Upon further investigation of these charges, I found that they were for my motorcycle plate, charge type was (ITOL) image by plate toll. My motorcycle plate is registered with my SunPass account as of 2009, HARLEY DAVIDSON RED, in color as the system asks when you register the plate.

I called and explained that these charges were not mine, please start an investigation. If you have a motorcycle plate, your plate my be similar to mine. I have 4 number going east to west and 2 letter on the right side going north to south - a motorcycle plate is 1/3 of the size of a regular plate. I called and explained that these charges were not mine, please start an investigation. I was told that an investigation takes 7 business day, and that I must call to learn of the findings. Okay, but then the representative told me that if the plate numbers/letters match, that none of the charges will be removed. What? You don't verify the make and model, registered type of plate? No only numbers/letter. Really??

Oh and then I was told, even if you remove the plate from SunPass, they will recognize it as being attached to your account and send a bill to address on the account...if you don't pay the bill, they will send it collections and then suspend your license! Really...so what am I to do? I am paying for someone with the same/number/letters in their plate, this doesn't sound right. So I call back later and literately was told the same thing, just a different, rude person.

I don't know how many DIFFERENT PLATE TYPES the state of Florida has - car, motorcycle, trailer, transporter, dealer, truck, bus, taxi, etc, etc - not to mention how many organizations/plates. Save the reef, save the manatee, save the panther, breast cancer, soccer, golf, Veteran, Disabled, etc, etc. How stupid and lazy can a company and its employees be? Obviously very STUPID and LAZY. Yes, I will fight this. In our days of technology, there is NO EXCUSE for an error such as this! Why I should pay for someone else to use toll roads? I'm sick of paying for others and having companies & businesses treating customers as if they WRONG!

Three times in a row I've used the Toll-by-plate. Three times I have paid my bill before due date. First time went fine. Second time they couldn't find my payment and made threats to send it to collections. When I spoke with a supervisor and told them the bill was paid before it was due and I have the bank statement that the payment was collected, they would look into it and try to find my payment. A week later I received a call. It was solved. They found it. That was in January 2015. In April 2015 I got a new bill in the mail and paid it the same day, way before due date. Same thing happened. Received new bill later on with a late fee. Called in again and explained that it was paid and I have the proof they cashed the check. They said they would look into it.

A new bill was send with a late fee for the 2nd bill so I called again and got nowhere. Today I received a letter from collection agency. Back on the phone AGAIN to explain that original bill was paid on time. This time an employee found the problem but couldn't fix it. She connected me with a supervisor and this woman didn't help anything at all. She said she'll put it in "review". Called collections and they changed it into "dispute" after I explained that I had proof of payment. I've used this new Toll-by-plate system for the 3rd time and twice it went wrong at their end. When I called for the 1st "lost" payment, an employee said then that they get a lot of same issues from other customers that pay thru their bank (like I did).

I guess no one tried to fix this problem and rather send paid customers to a collection agency anyway. Now that is just wrong and should be illegal. What's wrong with those people is the $2.50 tagged on administration fee not enough that they need to start play dirty? I'm strongly considering taking legal action to put a stop on such practices. I do have proof and recording that they admitted having the last payment. Needless to say I NEVER will use ANY express/toll ways again!

For some reason in the last 6 months I have got 6 violations (toll by plate) (mdx) and once again (toll by plate) x2, for SUV/car photos and MY MOTORCYCLE PLATES # on the invoice. Does the computer know the difference between motorcycle and a car/truck??? I have spent many hours trying to resolve this **, only to get a NEW offence the next month for my motorcycle plate on a car/truck. You can clearly see the plate in the photo is full-size / NOT a cycle plate!!!!!! So here we go again!!! On hold for 1&1/2 hrs. Was told they would call me back, never get a call back, repeat over again the next day, same run around - they will call you (WHEN!!!!!???) when your license is suspended, hundreds or/thousands in debt. Now you have a criminal record.

My advice is to call, call, call, call again, again, & again. Make sure you get a conf. # & name & employee # to prove (in your future lawsuit or criminal trial.....) that you are not at fault. P.S. I have never drove a toll road in my life! I have spent an average of 6 hrs. fixing each offence. This toll ** is a giant scam to extort $$$ from people or destroy your life. If you don't pay, ABSURDLY CRIMINAL ACTIVITY SPONSORED BY THE STATE OF FLORIDA! I will soon seek legal action (possible class action law suit). Good luck with your problems with this criminal enterprise.

I never liked Sunpass and never had plan to create an account with them. However, I had rented a car for 3 days which I needed a Sunpass to go through the tolls for a road trip. I specifically put on the account the days I would have the car and what day and time I would return it, so there won't be any additional charges. I never received an invoice nor a phone call and all of a sudden 4 months later I received this letter stating my account has a balance of negative so and so. I did not understand why if I only opened that account for temporary use and placed enough money to cover for the 3 days expenses I had used it. When I called I spoke to a woman called "**" which at first seemed interested to help and resolve my issue but boy was I wrong. I had explained to her "why is my account on negative if I haven't used it for over 3 months?" She said it appears that the sticker code has still been reading.

I told her "how is that possible if I never place the sticker on the rental car? I would just hold it up against the window every time I would pass through a toll." Then I went to the kitchen drawer and got the transponder sticker on my hand still brand new and unused and I asked her to read me the transponder code and it was the same one I was holding on my hand. I asked her "how is this possible that it keeps charging me if I have the sticker here on my hand. It doesn't make any sense." She said she was going to speak to her supervisor. At this point, I felt I was finally going to get this situation resolved.

After placing me on hold for 2 minutes she said "Ma'am I spoke to my supervisor and she told me these transactions are legit and therefore we can't undo or dispute them, the transponder is your responsibility and it cannot read unless it's in a car. Either you decide to pay or this balance will just go to collections." So basically she told me "we don't care, this is your account your responsibility, you got screwed not our fault so pay up." I kept insisting if I can dispute this in any way because I was not going to pay for something I didn't use and she said that it's not her problem. So now I'm working on an investigation along with a law suit for this stupid situation that could of easily been fixed. I will not tolerate this, horrifying customer service, lack of interest and thieves. All they want is to steal and get paid. Well they messed with the wrong girl! Soon ** and the Supervisor will lose their jobs. Justice will be served!

The Miami I-95 Golden Glades Main NB and SB entrances to the FL turnpike appear to have faulty cameras. My SunPass always is charged $1.04 for going through the Golden Glades to the turnpike and exiting the turnpike at Golden Glades. Our other car without a SunPass has never been billed for this access on or off the turnpike. I called SunPass to inquire, but they say the camera must be reading that plate incorrectly although I have no idea why, or who would pay the wrong bill. I have a feeling that people with SunPass are promised lower costs, but actually end up paying the bulk of the toll revenues because it may be that the non-SunPass cars aren't getting invoiced half of the time at certain access points. Another comment regarding SunPass stated that they were charged going through the Golden Glades, but not the other way. This appears to be a very inaccurate hit or miss way of billing people for tolls.

I just got SunPass cause the toll by plate charges you the SunPass fee plus the MDX fee. That's why I choose to go to SunPass. But now I am still getting MDX fees. So clearly I'm getting charged double just to use an expressway that I thought my tax money was going to. I really don't know where all my money is going to. Sometimes I feel that you're just charging whatever they want to charge and when they ask for proof all they have to go through is pop up a picture of my license plate. I really think this is just a scam, just forwarding sample. I was driving my sister's car for about 3 months last year from October to December. Christmas day, she came to pick it up and drove it all the way to Colorado. Now today April 20th 2015 I am still getting charged for her car. How does that happen?

Once again if we get some password why am I getting charged MDX and who is MDX? They're building more lanes for the expressways rather building more tolls on the expressway. I wonder what's going to happen when everybody doesn't take the expressway anymore. Just how Rosa Parks, what if we strike on his toes on the expressway and from now on don't use the expressway and just a regular streets? You think after a while they would put tolls on the regular streets. When is it enough? Prices go up, gas goes up, the only thing that doesn't go off is our paychecks. We get charged now with life insurance with Obamacare. If we do not get it we get taxed on our taxes. I think this is just incredible. When is it enough?

After having experienced the frustration of dealing with the Toll by Plate program and reading about the many similar frustrations expressed by other Florida residents and visitors, I would encourage anyone who has had a negative experience and would like to see the Toll by Plate system changed to contact their Florida state representative and let them know that this issue is important.

To find your Florida state representative go to: http://www.myfloridahouse.gov/Sections/Representatives/myrepresentative.aspx. Florida's tourists are a significant source of revenue, so let the state know that this is a problem for visitors to Florida. For visitors, consider e-mailing Governor Scott's office http://www.flgov.com/contact-gov-scott/email-the-governor/ or contacting the Commerce and Tourism Committee: https://www.flsenate.gov/Committees/Show/CM/.

I am so angry at Sunpass. I have been a customer for as long as Sunpass has been around and had always had a debit card attached to the account. In late 2011, I had to close the debit card due to fraud. Sunpass attempted to charge the card as usual and it failed. I called the same month, paid and replaced the card on file. In about February 2012, I got a bill from Sunpass for $4.00 and received a notice that I owed $4.00. I called Sunpass and they told me it originated from .45 left over from the previous year. For some reason, I had the impression the bill would be paid with the card I had just replaced.

Several months later I received a second bill for $7.00 and change. I think they are one of the same and pay the $7.00. But it was too late to pay the $4.00 ticket and it went to "collections" and I was charged with "CRIMINAL" toll evasion! Once again I call Sunpass and find now I actually have two tickets I didn't pay. The $4.00 one and another. At this point I'm confused! Long story short, BOTH ended up "going to collections" and therefore the State was able to charge me with "toll evasion" - a CRIMINAL misdemeanor. Twice! Two times I hired ticket angel who charged me $200 to deal with the $200 tickets. I called Sunpass incessantly during all this and found this all originated with .47 cents! These pennies essentially turned into $400 plus costs and a criminal charge!

And it gets worse! Apparently when my case was closed the second time I paid the admin fees one day late. The DMV promptly suspended my drivers license in the end of 2012 due to this $40 admin fee I didn't know I owed. Never knew my DL was suspended! Well, in early 2013 I was pulled over by an officer and charged with driving on a suspended license WITH KNOWLEDGE, along with other infractions and this since has snowballed into a costly nightmare that all started with a forgotten .47 cents. CRIMINAL TOLL EVASION and Driving on a Suspended License as is now on my permanent driving record. SHAME on ME or SHAME on YOU FLORIDA!?

I was recently in Florida for a work training event. I am from Nevada where we don't have pathetic tolls, so I was unprepared. I was in a rental car and paid a million dollar tolls. I just happened to have those dollars for some reason. I usually don't though. I was able to pay my way through. Then I hit a quarter toll. I had plenty of dollars but couldn't pay that quarter machine. In fact I had 1800 dollars in my wallet. WHO THE ** HAS QUARTERS ANYMORE???!!! You have got to be ** me. It isn't the 30's, morons. So, BEING DILIGENT, I CALL TO PAY MY ** BILL. I'm sorry there is no option for that. Your rental car receives the bill and will charge you between 15-30 dollar administration fee.

I'm flabbergasted. You can't pay with cards, you can't always pay with certain US currency. Whoever runs the Florida DOT should be publicly beaten. What unprecedented buffoonery! I know you are not the only state to do it but why join or start the ** head club? You will pay for booths, quarter processing, infrastructure, employees, websites, etc. You are telling me you can't install and dollar/credit card machine?! Burn in hell, please! Quarters??? REALLY!?

I live in Alabama and went to South Florida to take a 3 day cruise over the recent Thanksgiving holiday. I don't know the area so I used my GPS for guidance and did not deviate from that guidance. I paid the same exact tolls on the way down ($1.30, $3.80 and $15.40) as I did on the way back for a total of $41. In January, I received an invoice for $1.30 plus an additional $2.50 for "administrative fee's". Not knowing what this was about, I called them to find out. They claim the incident that triggered the invoice happened on November 29th at 12:28 PM in Golden Glades at an unmanned toll booth. I asked why then didn't I get 2 invoices since the GPS was my guide, and would of gone back the same way. They said, maybe they couldn't read the license plate the second time, or I would have gotten 2 invoices.

What gets me is I was on a boat in the middle of the Caribbean sea at that time, but they didn't want to hear that - their only purpose is to collect money. After much discussion with the agent and her supervisor, they waived the admin charges and let me put the $1.30 on my debit card. The thing is this type of extortion is so insipid, the only way it can be stopped is by shooting people in the face. Being part of the 47% Romney spoke of, means I don't the funds to buy justice, but I sure can take up arms! Who's with me??

Unbelievable! I travel over to Miami to see my brother from Naples and WANT to pay for my toll at the time that I pass over...and nooooooo, you now have no option but to do a toll-by-plate BILL which comes to you weeks later and they charge you an administrative fee of $2.50 (that's not a late fee, an admin fee) added to your bill. Not to mention that you have to mail a check to them which costs .49 /stamp and NO and I am not paying it online so they can get to my debit account. Absolutely horrible how they treat tax-paying citizens. I'm not paying the $2.50 based on the principle of the issue. Come on FLORIDA!! Stop this!!

Florida turnpike authorities want you to buy transponder for 19.99$ or $4.99 and then call them to add money to your account minimum of $10. What a rip off. I moved from Texas and I have not seen anything like this in my life. People in Florida wants to rip you off all the time. Would never use SunPass.

I was on vacation in Florida for a week. Using my GPS, it guided me onto a toll road. No problem, I thought.. But the narrow one-way access road lead to a toll booth that gave me the choice of "exact change" or "SunPass." HUH!?!? With cars behind me, there was nowhere to go but forward through the booth. I cannot say what happens next... I was in a rental car. Did they have a SunPass? Do I get a bill? I paid by cash at the next toll booth, and asked the attendant there what to do. He had no clue. What sort of nonsense is this?

Short story... I have 2 cars under my name with sunpasses all hooked up to credit cards and I average pay them about 450.00 a month and have since I moved here 5 years ago. Now I could not register my vehicles and could not figure out why. Yesterday I got a notice my license was suspended. The tax collectors office gave me a number to call E pass - I thought they were the same company. Upon calling them, they informed me I owed them 300.00 bucks and could not register my cars without it. I told them that I had sun pass and that I paid all the tolls.

They said, “well, they did not pay us so you have to.” So I paid them, they told me to call sun pass. I did, sun pass told me that everything was fine. I had money in my account and that they paid e pass. I told them that e pass said they did not get paid. He said "how would he know"? Our computers do not link up. WHAT!!!??? So he told me to copy all my proof that I paid the tolls and to sue e pass. Yeah, I really have time for that nonsense. So off to the clerk of courts to unsuspend my license. AHA!!! They told me that they needed 466.00 to restore my license. By this time I was very angry. They told me it happens all the time. That E pass commonly gives violations to sun pass subscribers who have already paid.

When asked if there was any agency that had authority over them, I was told no. Just pay it, you have no choice. THEN she told me I had 2 more upcoming violations within a few weeks totaling over 800 and finally that I could fight them in court. Hallelujah!!!! So, I will hire an attorney and fight them as this is really sick. They can attack anyone at anytime over money that is not owed. I think it is time to get political and write every Florida rep. that we have. We elected these people, they should be able to do something about these thieves and the kicker? E pass is a private for profit company who has the right to remove your driving privileges anytime it feels like it.

Unmanned toll roads - Hate it! Now I get charged a fee just so I can be sent a bill. Once people were removed from the process it should have become cheaper, not more costly. Rather pay right then and there, than get a bill several weeks later. Worse yet, if I allow someone to borrow my car I get the bill. Just another way to screw over Fl drivers and take jobs from its citizens.

I reside in South Florida and I have an active SunPass account since 2002. In August 2014, we drove through Orlando while on vacation. I felt confident with the SunPass displayed on the windshield. Around the middle of September, I received an "unpaid toll notice" due by 9/30/2014 to avoid "Florida Statue section 316.1001 that places a registration hold on the offending vehicle". When I called SunPass, the attendee advised me to call Lee Way because I was told "their computer systems do not share information". The attendee at Lee Way could not find my unpaid toll notice to link my account with SunPass. Frustrated, I paid the first notice. The following month, I receive a second unpaid toll notice. Note that each notice includes $.50 fine per each transaction and document fee of $3.00. Needless to say, I am still disputing the charges, however, I cannot get a response from Lee Way. I refuse to pay for document and transaction fees that could have been paid with my SunPass account. Any suggestions?

I started a job that required me to pay a toll each way - $3.75 x2. SunPass' website clearly states that the bridge I am crossing (Garcon Point) would get a 50% discount at the beginning of the following month, provided that the toll is paid 30 times in one month. I met all (documented) requirements and no discount... Of course, I have called over and over, and the managers are cowards and won't pick up the phone. Instead, they have buffers handling their calls and frankly refuse to acknowledge any wrongdoing. It's a shame that a company given the contract to collect tolls for the state has such poor customer service!!!! I'm a pretty passive guy but this has been a pretty bad experience.

My car was used to commute to work in Tampa, using the suncoast parkway..In Oct of 2010..then Nov 2010. Then Dec....I didn't get my 1st bill until May.. By the time I received the bill it was considered a toll violation ..A dollar per toll violation was assess..that's about 9.00 a day for 20 days..in the first month. Then, November the same and so on..I got a bill 7 months later for the first month, the second and third month..The bill was 651.00..I called and ask them what was going on..They said I didn't pay in the 30 day period and so on..I replied I didn't even get my first bill until May 2011..They said too bad, pay or go to court..I eventually paid ..750.00 then they sent me another bill for over 2000.00 dollars..I called the state house and spoke to a "Diane" and she said there wasn't anything the state could do..so is a scam or what..It is affecting my livelihood and a total rip off.

I spent a couple of days in Miami and received a toll bill for 280.00. I couldn't believe the charges at the time but I paid them. 2 months later I start receiving toll fees for the same time period, so they are charging me twice. I look at the activity and I am being charged a fee approximately every 30 seconds I am on their road. How is it possible to have tolls that close to each other??? Now they want they to pay again for being on their roads and its 2 months later. Stay away from Florida unless you want to get bled dry in toll fees.

Borrowed a friend's vehicle to travel to Cape Coral area. I live in Lehigh acres. I am not too familiar with this 2 dollar toll on their bridge. I was in the wrong lane and upon realizing this, traffic too congested and could not cross over. I called immediately upon getting back home and informed my friend of the matter. Was informed to be looking for a ticket of a total charge of 5 dollars. This happened on July 31st, 2014. She received the ticket October 4... quite frankly we both had forgot of the matter. I guess that was the intention of Sunpass also.

I called and inquired of the lateness. Was informed that notification went out 3 times and this was the 4th. I then inquired of the address.. sent to 2 prior addresses as of 2012. I then asked how the addresses was of old addresses, was told that they contact DMV of the address on the licensed card to the plate. If so then the long delay to an address of 2012 which my friend had her driver's license updated to her present address... it made no sense. This was mailed out (supposedly) three times to wrong addresses. I see to make sure there was no time to pay a 5 dollar ticket that now turned into 102.00 dollars.

I don't think there are any options left other than to pay a ticket that was not her fault. It is awful how these ticket tolls are taken care of and especially if you had a couple of address changes. This is a tactic that I am sure many people have fallen into and no one to complain to about. You're at risk to be paying up to 500.00 in additional fees and court costs to try and dispute the matter.

My husband didn't have a SunPass in January but I did. The truck he was driving was in my name. We have a new highway that bills you for going thru from your car tag. My husband stopped to received a new SunPass in his name in February with the same truck same car tag and he asked if everything was clear. The attendee stated everything was paid and cleared. 10 months later we received a bill for 600 dollars and stating my license was going to be suspended.

When I went to the court house, the clerk stated you can take it to court or pay the 600.00. I want to take it to court due to the fact that my husband received the new SunPass with the same truck and same car tag without any problems. If he owed this, they should not have issued him a pass without him paying it. Do you think we have a chance in court or should we pay it?

I went to Miami for a football game and somehow got 3 situations which I never ran any tolls unless it was night and I didn't see it (which I doubt). But those 3 situations that was sent through the mail and I never received… turned into 1000 dollars and nobody will take responsibility for them. Miami court say it’s SUNPASS. SunPass just gives you the cold shoulder. After being all morning with this situation I finish off right where I started - still 1000 dollars for a toll violation!!!! And a suspended license AND they reported to my credit and 1 year later it’s the same run around owe and I HAVE EPASS. Is there anyone who can help come on clean drivers record and no tickets and I get suspended for tolls given through USPS. Sorry but I receive other peoples mail on a regular and find mail on top of the boxes, etc. and that’s my do or die way of getting it to me (not certified, or signature req.). I’m so upset.

So I used one of the new toll roads when traveling to Destin. The toll was $1.50 there and back, so $3.00 total. But then I get a Toll By Plate invoice for $5.50 in the mail. Well why $5.50? Because they add $2.50 administrative fee. Well guess what, I wanted to stop to pay my toll, but you don't offer that. So now I'm forced to pay an Administrative fee that's almost double the toll. Screw that and screw you! I'm not paying it! I'll send you $3.

I traveled to Florida and used the turnpike to leave Florida. I do not even know what a sunpass is. A couple of years later I received a letter stating that I owe them 250 dollars because the One dollar was not paid. I paid all tolls on the turnpike so I did not even know what this meant. I tried to speak with someone there and they were very short and almost rude telling me that there was nothing I could do. They said they had mailed me several letters, but I had not received them. I will NOT pay $250 for traveling in a lane on a toll road I paid to travel on. I do not know what to do. Anyone with intelligent feedback, please help me.

I was a former employee at Sunpass/ FDOT/ FANEUIL AGENCY. When you call the Sunpass remember that they are a Small Call Center based on one Floor in Orlando, Florida. The employees sit in a very close proximity to each other. It is very difficult to concentrate because the noise level is at a constant very high. The agency or whomever they rent the property from rarely cleans the call center. They have had OSHA complaints about the unclean venting system. They do not have a clean cafeteria for plus 200 employees that work in very close confines on the second floor of a small building close to Sand Lake Road and Orange Blossom Trail.

The other amenities in the building, the restrooms for the employees should be considered unfit for regular labor. The break room is a small cramped room and should have more room and space allotted for. The call center is also very cramped space and is unhygienic to have employees so closely seated next to each other. There would be a lot less illness if they expanded the call center and did not allow employees to sit together in such close confines. They keep the call center on a very tight budget and rarely ever gives any bonuses to employees, customer service representatives. The employees receive back to back calls with very rare down time. They under fire at the call center and put unreasonable demands on one's eardrums for a 40 hour a week shift.

THEY COULD CREATE MORE JOBS AND CREATE LESS ERRORS. They took away manned tolls to create more customer service jobs. They actually created more automated response systems and online resources instead of creating MORE JOBS. Faneuil created a burnout class of underpaid and overworked customer service employees. The rest of the staff does not appear to struggle very much. The employees are primarily underpaid minorities. The Employees are warned to not use their health benefits on Family Members and themselves from Aetna because they might get fired or they will find reasonable cause to write them up.

They are a poorly mismanaged company with one toll in Tampa that makes more than 45 MILLION DOLLARS in one month. That is just one toll according to the Miami Herald. They do not want to hire staff for long periods of time. They are looking for employees for short term success. FDOT/FANEUIL/SUNPASS do not provide 401k or IRA benefits for the employees. THEY NEVER WANT TO MAKE THEM EMPLOYEES OF THE STATE OF FLORIDA OR GIVE THEM THE BENEFITS THAT THEY DO DESERVE. They have the financial resources to create more jobs but they would rather spend all of the money on the politicians in Florida. The Good Old Boys in Politics reap the benefits of telecommunications slave labor.

IF THEY SHUT DOWN ALL THE TOLLS IN FLORIDA WE WOULD ALL BENEFIT FROM IT. THEY GROSSLY UNDERPAY AND UNDERCOMPENSATE EMPLOYEES AND RIP OFF DRIVERS IN FLORIDA. Whomever is embezzling all the money from the tolls in Florida does not deserve it and they belong in handcuffs.

I received a fine in the mail for $3.50 for an unpaid toll of $1.00. Every time that I go through a toll, I get a receipt. I will call the number on the fine tomorrow to see what they say. If I had accidentally went through the SunPass side, it would have been a larger fine. They won't raise the bar until you pay the toll, so I don't know how that this is possible.

In 2011 I became ill and became homeless after a hospital stay. I was placed in transitional housing in Naranja, Fl in July 2011. In August 2011 I rendered my SUV for repossession. Although I would take the train and the buses to Miami Gardens to my PO BOX, I never received any notice that I had unpaid tolls. And I shouldn't have because I had an active account with SunPass where they deducted $20 every time my account got to $5.00 and I had a transformer on my window. In September 2012 when I went with my son to be a 2nd driver on his insurance for his car, I was told by the Agent that my driver license had been suspended and that I had tickets and insurance cancellation.

When I investigated after many calls to various agents to locate the originator of the 2 tickets I was told by Miami Dade Expressway that it was Sunpass. I called, was told to apply for a court hearing because they could not remove them and I did. I took all my proof to court and the first 2 tickets was dismissed. At that time, there were only those 2 tickets against my driving record. Within 1-3 days after I left court in October of 2012, and had the first 2 tickets removed, someone placed 2 more tickets against my driver license and they were at that time totaling $232.05 and $231.35. I never should have received these tickets because Sunpass has no entry for me passing through their tolls at the time these tickets were dated. At the time these tickets are dated, I was without transportation for months!

My truck was finally repo'd and the tag was in storage for months! Also, all 4 of the tickets was written by the same officer Derrick ** whom I never met and can't figure out even if I was driving, how did he at all 4 different times just happen to be the officer to write these tickets? I have gone to the Justice Bldg over and over requesting a court hearing to show proof again that these tickets are not mine and I have been denied each time with no name of the judge or hearing officer denying my request. This last time I have gone to the Justice Bldg to request a hearing, someone sent me 3 denials on this last request! That's right; they became so upset with me requesting a hearing that they took it upon themselves to deny me 3 times I guess to say, "she should get the hint now!"

Also, the last 2 tickets was issued on October 03 and 05 of 2011 with my current address. The problem with that is this apartment complex was not finished being built until January of 2012 and I didn't move in here until February of 2012. So how is it that these tickets written 4 months prior to me living at this address have this address on it at the time they were written? And the dates on these last 2 tickets have different dates of issuance with the copies I requested from the Clerk of the Courts, they have the October 03, 05, 2011 dates. The dates with the collection agency that SunPass uses has the dates as July 23, 2012 for both. So because this State run company is fraudulently charging me and others for unwarranted tickets, I have for 3 years now been without valid driver license and in much pain trying to use public transportation. I have not been able to go to my church for the 2 1/2 years I have been living at my new address because I can't drive or rent a vehicle to go to my shopping, doctor appointments or place of worship or see my mother or my grandchildren.

Because of these fraudulent charges and the Deputy Clerks working with the people at SunPass that is doing this, my life has been restricted and I haven't even been able to work part time to assist my disability from Social Security. I have not been able to return to school which Voc. Rehab paid for; nothing. I have been a hermit in this apartment for all these years because of unjust people working in the system. I want my driver license reinstated with no points and I want my life back else, I will file a lawsuit against SunPass and expose all their thievery. God has someone out there in politics who will listen to me and all the others! Also I don't owe SunPass any money, they owe me money on my account because I have a balance of almost $20 there for years.

I was also driving from Sarasota to Tampa, was looking for my exit. It was my first time ever in Tampa, already dark around 9 pm on a Saturday and all the sudden there was sign for Toll road. I had to take the first exit so basically I wasn't on the toll road for a mile. I was looking for where to pay for this service which I did not request, toll service, but there was nowhere to pay.

I left the state for 3 months before I received their love note. I just got back on March 2nd, going through my mail mountain, and the charges went up to $5.75. So I called them. This very helpful lady who I feel sorry for working for this company, explained me why it costs $5.75 and there is not a chance, not even if I opened a sunpass account that the amount would go down. Toll charges were: $0.75.

And there is a "Current fees/Charges" which is $2.50. If I had a SunPass they wouldn't charge me for sending me this invoice. WHAAAAAT? I've never heard of such a thing! There was nowhere to pay! and I am being charged for sending me this stupid invoice for 75 Cents? Absolutely unacceptable, and I will support anyone who sues this company! I want to file a complaint myself! This was my first trip to Tampa and they made it bitter, that I never want to go that way again because of this in-requested service they provide. So since I didn't pay them for the first invoice, since I wasn't home to open my mail, the final bill was $5.75. And I cannot do anything about it? It pisses me off. I want to do something so bad. I will take any suggestions. SunPass RIPOFF!

My complaint is about the increased rates for SunPass. How do they get away with it. Last night the cost was $10.50 at around 6:00PM to use the SunPass lane. I believe they are not acting in the best interests of the population of the Miami citizens but are 'sticking it to us' with the greed and need for more revenues. I have never understood how Miami Dade is able to collect revenues on an Interstate highway. I have at times been willing to pay up to $6.50 (that's my limit) but I draw the line at anything higher. Round trip at peak hours a person could spend anywhere from $15.00 to $18.00 a day to use the SunPass lane, plus a gallon of gas give or take, it could cost upwards of $20 a day to drive into downtown Miami. We are talking about $400 a month. Wow, can anyone do anything about this?

I am looking for people who have been victimized by SunPass. Apparently there is a class action suit. I am in process of getting more info from the attorney. I rec'd 2 SunPass toll violation (One was entrapment - I was physically prevented from changing lanes by lane dividers) in July 2012. Notice DID NOT come in the mail. First I ever heard of it was February 2013. DL was suspended. I could not pay online, could not get HUMAN on the phone. In March 2013 I ended up in hospital, had to have brain surgery July 2013.

I have since PAID the toll violations to an attorney representing Palm Beach county. Miami Dade is trying to charge me $465 for THE SAME 2 TOLL VIOLATIONS!!!!!!! Now I cannot reinstate my DL without paying the $465. Which means that a MAXIMUM of $14 in toll violations has turned into OVER EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS. I am NOT paying their extortion money. Palm Beach got their money. Miami Dade can pry their $465 from my COLD, DEAD HANDS. I'm sure I am not the only one. This is bull (**) and I will fight it. Who's with me?

I drove from Fort Myers to Tampa and used one of the automated toll by plate lanes. There aren't any non-automatic lanes nor any warning that if you use the system you'll be charged an administrative fee of $2.50. I called them and they told me that if I used the system I had to pay. I'm more than willing to pay for the toll but I refuse to pay $2.50 because some executive decided to save money by firing people and now I have to pay for their savings. I wonder if doing that (without a warning) is even legal.

The most aggravating non-human experience ever. Need a replacement transponder, after they sent an email. 3 800 numbers called, dropped SEVEN times. On hold an aggregate of 45 minutes. Never talked to a human, was dropped from the waiting list. No FAQs in my area. Completely disgusted, I am going back to piling quarters.

The automated phone system for checking balance, adding funds, etc. will disconnect callers on the weekend, stating that SunPass is closed and to use the website instead. This makes no sense, since the system is obviously intended to provide off-hours support to SunPass customers. For as long as I've been a SunPass customer, everything about their customer service has been horrendous. They should channel funds away from technology refreshes and instead build their customer services to be equal in quality.

Why is it that there is no way of knowing how much the express lane toll is before getting on it?? It is only approx. a 10-mile stretch that ranges from $.25 to normally $4.50 on my drive home, but rates are constantly changing. Who determines how much the toll will be? Why can't it be a constant rate??? At least you would know what to expect on a budget for a monthly (convenience) route. It is funny that you can take the Fla turnpike 100 miles in areas for the same price as a 10-mile ride. Isn't I-95 supposed to be a public non-toll roadway which is funded by state tax money?? Last but not least... At 5 pm on the Dolphins home game schedule, the toll suddenly jumps anywhere from $7 to $8!! And it is at a standstill... I wonder why??

I believe this is total $$$ gouging for game goers and the rest of us poor unfortunate people just trying to make a living and get home from a day at work. Why can't it be a simple FAIR toll... It is only 10 miles. Say maybe around $2 all the time. Since I make the trip Twice a day and 5 times a week, that's $20 week and $80 monthly. That is certainly bad enough... but at least I and the rest of the community would know what we were spending.

About 6 years ago I had a Sun Pass account. Within the time frame, there was a glitch with the transponder or some small issue. I received a few violations due to "unpaid" toll. I called Sun Pass Customer Service and also the Clerk's office in my county. Basically I went before a judge and explained to the him what happened and he waived all of the charges and fees associated with the violation. I cancelled my account with Sun Pass just after that. Now 6 and 1/2 years later, I received a notice from a collection agency indicating that I owe over $6K with the county due to unpaid toll violations stemming back to 2007. After dealing with the clerk of the court and getting nowhere, I have been advised that I have to seek legal council with regard to the collection or deal with the collection agency. As I search for an attorney to help, I stumbled across this site and decided to let folks know that it may not be over with the county and Sun Pass!! If anyone knows an attorney or can recommend some legal advice - I am all ears.

I live on the West Coast of Florida and on very rare occasions, I go to the East coast. I pay my toll fees EVERY time. Today, as I was coming home, I was pulled over because my license was suspended WITHOUT notice due to unpaid fees from the toll booth. I pay and save receipts because of my business so I can get reimbursed. Now I have to fight to get my license back by paying heavy fines (I am sure). In the meantime, I cannot drive, my license was taken away on the spot and if I am found driving, it is a felony! ALL because of these lying crooks.

It's the worst company ever! They take money out of people's account like nothing. My bank statement has SunPass -$10.00 charged twice every other day!! with no ** explanation because I don't drive my car everyday!!!! I went on a trip out of town In an AIRPLANE! My car was parked. They charge me $10.00 3 times since I wasn't home and I couldn't make deposits. My account went overdrawn so those thieves took $30 plus the bank charged me $35 for each. They are abusing and stealing!!!! That computer is messed up!!! I'm gonna cancel the account right now. I'm tired of them. The worst thing is I live South in Miami and my only options are to take Turnpike or Palmetto which is the same ** there are those toll by plate. THE WORST HORRIFIC INVENTION EVER! I'll try to upload a picture of my bank statement! It's insane.
