2 invoices over the summer. Both were paid in full immediately. Although their own invoice showed the payments they continued to bill me and I had to send proof. 5 mos. later they are billing me again..

SunPass is the worst company in existence. The website is impossible to navigate. I have called and tried to log in several times to change my address but they are still, after 4 years of living in Florida, send invoices to an address in Iowa that I've never lived at. You cannot get in touch with a customer representative ever. I cannot understand how a company that runs so poorly, still be the only option.

I downloaded the app and loaded my rental car info. At no time was I told that my transponder would not work with EZpass. I noticed there was no "bink" when I went through a toll plaza, so I started paying cash where cash was an option. Good thing I did. I contacted Sunpass and was informed I needed the Sunpass PRO! Thanks, folks. When I researched whether my Sunpass would work in VA, MD, and DE everything I read said that it would. No mention that I needed another transponder. The tolls cost double. Thanks, folks. I can't even contact anyone. They hide behind their government contract.

I do not live in Florida but I have a SunPass for when I visit. Haven’t used it in a few years. I receive a statement (roughly $10) that I used it in North Carolina. I have not been anywhere near their tolls in that area. Turns out I listed the wrong plate with them, off by 1 number. In fact, I no longer have the original plate that I actually had. A simple DMV check of that number would have shown the actually owner. They didn’t give a damn. Said I am responsible for any plate listed. Refused to refund my money. They are not a reputable business.

Very frustrated with SunPass. I'm trying to cancel my account and their website keeps giving me a message: Access denied. Error 16. www.sunpass.com

2021-07-05 17:26:47 UTC. I'm not able also to reach them over the phone. The company should provide an email contact for those cases.

SunPass emails me every time before auto debiting my replenish. I set $25. When my balance is $10 it triggers replenish. Fine. However, I've just noticed they've sometimes debited 2x in one day, and sometimes bi-weekly! Crazy autopay? I only use one toll road in the area (goes to mom's house) for total about $5-10 per month MAX.

This company Sunpass is stealing from the people. Two days ago I paid $243 and two days later I owe 16 dollars, and those days the daily charge was $0.33. This company needs to stop, and charge what is fair.

Upon reviewing my Sunpass account in December, I noticed that I was being charged for Pinellas tolls (I am enrolled in the commuter plan). I read the plan specifications, which state that it expires September 30th. I also read that it renews automatically if you are enrolled in "easy pay" (I am). NOT TRUE! Not only did it not renew, it wouldn't let me submit payment to renew. So, I sent an auto request asking for credit for the $40+ in tolls since September 30th and for the plan to be reinstated. My answer was essentially "nah, you didn't renew". No assistance whatsoever. I had to delete the plan and reenter it again.

Several times over the years they have just up and billed me for plates that weren't even mine, they have recently billed me for several (over 100) toll violations on a temporary tag that was issued to a car I purchased recently, they started charging me for tolls on the plate that was apparently also on 2 other different cars driving on a toll highway over 200 miles away on a highway I've never been on, I sent them the registrations showing them the plate wasn't even issued at time of violations and after 2.5 months they send an email stating case closed insufficient documents, after 20 plus phone calls that take an hour for someone to pick up each time that can't do anything for you anyhow and there's no way to reach anyone that can that can actually make decisions or anyone that can even tell you what they want accurately.

They have access to DMV computers to be able to bill you why do I have to go spend my time at dmv getting proof for them to clear me of their mistakes, if they can use dmv to bill me they can use dmv to clear me without hassling me over it, let alone just open their eyes. The cars in the pictures aren't even close to what mine looks like, and hey there's 2 different ones in the pictures. What's up with that, one of the representatives even said they have issues with plates all the time, one would think that if they can just bill you at will they would be more responsible about fixing the issues when they mess up. No wonder Florida isn't going to renew their contracts apparently.

I have sold my jet ski with a trailer 5 years ago. Forgot to remove the license plate and the new owner used the expired plate to go through tolls. I reported to the DMV that I no longer own the trailer. SunPass wants me to file a police report. Police advised me to contact the DMV. It seems that SunPass is protecting crooks using expired stolen plates as long as they can charge former owners for Toll charges... Third world company!

I have tested the honesty of the Sunpass system to verify that they do not falsely invoice charges that have not been made, and they have not passed the exam in the month of September. We spent only one day on the Don Shula highway and they charged two more days charges. This is not the first time that this has happened, you have to clean that place of predatory wolves, which steal money in an authorized way, with the approval of state authorities. This system of improper toll collection has a flavor of dictatorship, there are no mechanisms to combat fraud, corruption and theft.

I received an invoice for a toll I knew was not mine. It was a Pay By Plate. When I looked at the photo, it was obvious half the plate was out of view, meaning someone guessed at the plate number. If they looked up the plate, they would have seen it was for a Honda Fit. The photo was of a commercial box truck. So I opened up a dispute, followed up with a second report showing my car with the plate in question. THEY DID NOTHING TO INVESTIGATE AND SENT ME A SECOND NOTICE. It took a very angry call to a supervisor to get this resolved, or at least I hope it is. Billing people via a photo is a HORRIBLE IDEA.

On Friday, June 5, 2020, I received my first check from going back to work and decided to make very small payments on all accounts just to keep it active. I went to make a $10 payment on my Sunpass but the credit card information was outdated. I went to update it to submit my $10 payment and it charged my card $974. It took my entire paycheck which included my rent and part of my car payment. I called the customer service number so I could have them cancel, refund, or reverse the payment. Unfortunately you can’t speak to a live person when you call, you only get the automated machine and there’s no option to speak with anyone.

I frantically called the turnpike itself and the woman who answered said she would try to get help. A woman from the department of transportation called me back and said she would get with someone from Sunpass to help. She called me again to tell me that I would be getting the payment reversed and I was so relieved. Now mind you, it’s the 5th and rent was due on the 1st. The 5th is the last day of the grace period to pay your rent “on time”. Because Sunpass took the money out of my account, I couldn’t pay rent and I’ve now tacked on an additional $200 late fee that I have to pay.

On Tuesday, June 9, 2020, I received an email from Sunpass stating that they were not going to reverse the payment of $974 because my $10 payment was not enough. How do you in your right mind just charge an amount to someone’s card without their approval. If I entered $10, what makes you think I can afford $974... during a pandemic?! There’s no one I can reach out to for assistance and I’m paying the price for just trying to keep the Sunpass active. I want my $974 back that was wrongfully taken from my account. I don’t even give Sunpass 1 star. This is not the first experience I’ve had with them that went poorly and most of the Floridian people I know would rather not deal with Sunpass either.

Beware...when you open a Sunpass account, you must read ALL fine print and make sure you select: "Receive Statements Electronically" or you will be charged $1.50 for a monthly statement (hardcopy) to be sent to you...after this happened, I notified Sunpass to ask what charge was and was told that I did not select paperless selection when opened account...after requesting adjustment to charge due to new user and requesting forgiveneess for oversight, I was told charge would NOT be reversed as mailing already occurred...the mailing didn't not cost $1.50 for sure - this is not appropriate in my opinion...extremely poor customer service - beware!

For something that should be a seamless process, it is a nightmare for most Floridians. Sunpass will overcharge, double charge, and send you a bill with a photo of a car that is not your car. According to the newspaper, they have even sent bills to people who have died years ago but yet their corpses are still racking up tolls through Sunpass. They are unreasonable and rude and they defend their actions by saying they only make 10,000 mistakes every year and they think that number is acceptable. Florida deserves a better toll system. Sunpass is not capable of accurately handling the job and should be replaced by a different system. I can't reclaim the hours of my life that I have spent on the phone with them over their mistakes. I look forward to the day when they are replaced.

4 years ago I stopped using my Sunpass transponder because I thought that I was being constantly overcharged. I paid off what I owed and threw it away. Months later I received a bill. They explained I had incurred more tolls that I hadn't yet been billed for at the time of my last payment so I paid those too. I thought I was done with sunpass. A few days ago I received an Mdx toll enforcement invoice which as usual I paid for, but first I was too lazy to grab the bill so I logged in to sunpass by redirect from mdx and searched for my bill by plate number. Boy was I shocked to see an amount due for over $4,000!

This made me search frantically for the actual paper bill and when I found it, I logged in this time using my account number on the bill and this time my balance was only $230 which I paid online. I'm frightened to think that when I log in using only my plate number, that I owe $4,000 however I've never received a bill for this amount. I'm afraid the amount is growing on its own and I'm also afraid to call. I have been paying all of my toll by plate bills, why would I owe sunpass?

I had a SunPass account and had it linked to my debt card thru Easy Pay. I have been charged over 100 dollars for tolls that weren't mine. When I spoke to customer service and a manager I was told there was nothing they could for me. Somehow the wrong license plate got linked to my account. Even though they have a picture of the car and the license plate that wasn't mine they still won't refund my money and charge the right person. I don't understand how they can do that to me.

I purchased a SunPass (suction cup transponder cost $20 & I put $20 on the account) when I got into FL this past Feb. First, the registration process is confusing. It was the weekend so no customer support was available. I finally figured it out that you didn't have to leave credit card info so your account would automatically renew. You could place a one time amt on it & then replenish as needed. When I pressed submit the page said you transponder is ready to use. I went through a couple of gates & the transponder read. About 15 hrs to 16 hrs had elapsed. I got to a couple of gates owned by E-Pass & it didn't read. I asked SunPass if they could more $3.90 of my $16 on my account to pay these. They said they couldn't because my transponder was activated less that 24 hrs. So I had to call E-Pass and pay by credit card $3.90.

To all people planning to visit Florida & use its toll roads. All toll roads have pay by plate tolls meaning you can use them & they will send you a letter with around $.40 to $.50 cents added for processing. Out of my $20 & the addition of $3.90, I spent around $7.00 in tolls. That may have increased to $8.50 or $9.00 with surcharges. This didn't cover the cost of the transponder again which was $20. The permanent one is around $40 out of the vending machines. If you must get a toll pass get an E-Pass. They are FREE. People at E-Pass also appear to be friendlier. Just request it to be sent to you well before your trip.

I need information, you folks won't give any. So I'm at a loss. I am a VietNam vet. I need information. Tavares to Lake Nona the only time I use the Toll Roads. ** is my mini SunPass, not on my car, because I don't trust you. You have shut me off, literally, 5 times. Please give me "useful" information!

An unknown car was added without my consent to my account and I ended up paying about $60 on tolls for a car that it's not even mine. I called the customer service line to let them know what was going on, they said that unless I could show them the rental agreement for the vehicle proving it wasn't me who rented it there was nothing they could do about it. I told them there is no way I could show them the rental agreement since it wasn't me who rented this car. It is absolutely ridiculous how my account information was stolen and they do not want to help. I ended up paying 60$ on tolls for a car that wasn't rented by me or added to my account by me. The agents did not care or wanted to help at all. It is unbelievable that they could not do anything else to try to help me and refused to give me a refund. The worst experience of my life!

Called to ask about a unauthorized charge and they claim I set up autopay, if I had autopay, my account would not have a balance higher than 20 dollars, "autopay" is their way of going into anyone's account and do whatever they want, not the consumer's fault for not knowing how the system work on their end when asked to verify your name 10 times plus your, address, pin number, security questions etc etc. I feel bad for the reps getting paid minimum wage and acting like they hate their jobs.

Since they had that problem with their system over a year ago the billing department has been billing fictitious amounts to my SunPass online account. I have bogus charges popping up daily for traveling through a toll weeks prior. It's impossible to try and backtrack how this is happening. The answer I got from them is tolls take weeks to process. Really? When did that happen? I am ready to hire a lawyer and start a class action lawsuit. The sunpass system and FDOT owes people a lot of stolen monies and something needs to be done ASAP!

I switch to E-Pass end of August because Sunpass has been the worst nightmare possible. I replenish my own funds (because I have a family member where they took out $5,000 by mistake. Took them 2 months to return it) and when I go pass by a toll and my balance is negative (I replenish when I get home) they told me that they don't try to take money out of the account. They form an invoice and send it out, charging the full amount. So, what is the point of having an account with you? You have my license plate on file, you can't go back and take it out? So, I switched to E-pass, they offer a bigger discount and I don't have any problems with them at all.

I actually had a argument with a customer service representative from Sunpass saying that they have a bigger discount and that E-pass only offer a rebate after the 37th toll. I asked a E-pass customer service representative and he laughed and said that's not accurate at all. They offer the discount per toll. I do not recommend this company, for the lack of customer service and horrible system.

SunPass has the most awful customer support ever. Nobody knows how the system works and they lie to avoid to work to help the customers. Don't even think about use your own transponder when you rent a car. They will not charge you and the system is prepared to not show the activity at all. All tools you use will be hidden. This way the rental car companies can make a fortune charging you like 15 dollars per 0.75 cents tool. May be an agreement between Sunpass and the rental cars companies? Who knows... While we don't know, we pay and they don't care. Nobody from Sunpass cares. This company is a SHAME. Well, just take a look at the stars reviews...

I have an epass. Plenty of money in my account. Once in August and now September I have had to pay a $.75 toll and $2.50 Fee because they made me pay by plate. Gives me about 10 days once I receive bill. Goes to North Carolina. Service at Sunpass is terrible. Just wanted the money. Governor from Florida it’s time to fine them again. Not only do they rip you off they are rude and could Care less about the public using the roads.

Been a SunPass customer for about 8 years now and in the last 7 months or so have been getting pay by plate bills in the mail. I have changed transponders and that is not the problem. Have contacted SunPass 3 different times and they are zero help. My problem is not getting the discounts and having to pay the "processing" fee to Epass for the pay by plate invoice. We are switching to EPass and will see if that solves the problem.

STAY AWAY FROM SUNPASS!!! I have had a SunPass account since I was in high school, and ever since I got one, I've had issues with it. I was enrolled in the easy-pay system 4 or 5 separate times, and every time they have removed my card WITHOUT consent or notification. I only found out when I had toll violations come in. At first I thought it may have been system error or someone pressed a wrong button, whatever I gave them the benefit of the doubt, but when I call to complain, they tell me my card was declined three times so they removed it. I can look at my bank statements and I get text notifications if my card is declined, not once had they attempted to charge me nor did my card get declined this last time.

As I am telling this to TWO customer service agents (one being a supervisor), they tell me nothing is wrong, and that I will have to pay $44.84 (which is a lie, when I log onto my account to pay, it shows me $70 after fees) although they removed my card off the account for no reason and cannot explain why with a believable answer, and they ask me to re-enroll in to the easy pay system. To be fair this is the least amount I've had to pay, but in the past year alone I have had pay over $800 in tolls and fees, for the same persisting problem that has been going on for 4 years. You can imagine how much I've actually paid them since I've had an account with them. The customer service was also just horrible besides that. I am a manager at my current job, and I have never handled disputes or have spoken to customers the way I was spoken to by the SUPERVISOR. NEVER AGAIN! They have stolen too much money from me.

Every once in a while, I get a toll by plate charge on the Beach Line extension, even though my transponder works on other SunPass roads before that in Orlando. Also, I just got a charge for a vehicle that isn't even mine and has a very different tag #. The enforcement invoice was for a vehicle in the Ft. Lauderdale area and I haven't been down that way for years.

I can no logger log in at my pre paid account and the bill from Sixt rental car just arrived. So I am wondering what happen since I had the SunPass transponder at the car when I went thought the tolls. When I left the rental car I forgot to take it out so I decided to disable the bar code... And I can no longer check my U$ 18,80 that I still had. Very disappointed...
