I had to make a trip from Massachusetts to Slidell to take care of something from a few years ago and I usually go to places like La Quinta, but thought to just go here this time and went to check in and was told by the manager, or staff that it would be $95 and that I'd get my $25 back the next morning and went to bring my paper back to them to receive my $25 and she took a quick glance at it and told me, oh no, that's just your receipt and she acted like I had no clue and that she was just going to act like she didn't owe me the $25 and went about her business and I said okay no problem and made a mental note about it! I would NEVER go back again! I'm not arguing over $25 and didn't have time for it either! Regardless, I'm making absolute sure I mention this now that I am done with my trip! I'll just stick with the usual ones I usually go to for now on! Thanks for the exercise and lesson learned! 👌

The room I had (that cost $97/night) was disgusting and dangerous. The toilet base had some kind of leak because when I went in during the night, the floor was wet and I slipped and badly wrenched my shoulder trying to save myself. The caulk around the base was very old, cracked and filthy. The whole bathroom was disgusting with a towel bar ripped off the wall, dirt and grime around the edges of the floor and really old looking stains all over the bathtub. There is dust and mold on the ac/heat unit so I didn't use it even though the room was cold. I have asthma and am elderly so I couldn't risk a chest infection. The floor was sticky and the towels were literally the worst I've ever seen - tiny and as brittle as toast. I've traveled a lot and this shocked me. Red Roof is letting criminally negligent franchisees to damage their brand. Pay an extra $10 and stay at a reputable hotel.

What a huge disappointment, as we booked 4 nights, stayed 2 and cancelled the other 2 night reservations. You have a huge problem with crime, drugs and overal safety at these hotels. Very serious! Pictures I attached won't send but I can prove: bugs, mold, dirty tub, faulty electrical outlets, RRI Rochester Hills, MI -Mon Nov 17, 2025 **: So many health violations! Stayed 1 night, bugs crawling everywhere, fruit flies, sink unusable, smelled, mold everywhere. Manager stated when I left he was going to credit my account, and he never did. I put through a credit card dispute. Pictures attached.

RRI StLouis/Forest-Hampton location- 2 rooms- Tue Nov 18, 2025. ** And Tue Nov 18, 2025 **. On top of these filthy conditions, I was charged an extra $100 for the same room (needed an additional room w/o reservation), the worker said it was the last room that's why is was so much more. Criminal! The room was worst than the RRI in Rochester Hills, MI. More health violations-mold everywhere, rooms smelled like cat piss. We talked to the front worker and he said the manager would call-never did.

This is why I am asking for a full refund for all 3 nights. These hotels should not be in business. Most disgusting place/hotel ever. I have reached out to both cities health department and put in a complaint for both locations. If you do not refund all 3 nights, I will further share this information with an hotel investigation party (Gov.usa) for:

1.HEALTH<http://1.HEALTH> VIOLATIONS: Filthy conditions: dirty carpets, stained linens, mold, broken fixtures, and pest infestations (cockroaches, fruit flies).

    2. Building/safety concerns: electrical plug not secure and do not work.

I booked a 2 night stay at the Red Roof Inn Plus in Ann Arbor, Michigan for this past October for my daughter and her friend. Upon checking in, she found the room was unsatisfactory, with a "rock-hard" mattress, stained linens, poor lighting, as well as bugs. Additionally, men were loitering around the door, smoking & drinking, and she felt unsafe staying there. As no other rooms were available we immediately returned her room key and requested a refund, at least for the second night of our planned stay. We were instructed to contact the manager when he returned the following Monday, but received no satisfaction. Emails to customer service also yielded nothing more than an apology.

They're terrible, they clerk thieves' cards, they are meth. They lie face to face, no room to pay a high price. The horrible room refrigerator won't work on the 2nd floor. The thieves do not go there; then men break your cars while ripping the card with the vehicle—rats chewing paper.

The rooms were outdated and dirty. The tile floors were stained and dirty, I don't think they even clean them each time they do housekeeping after a customer leaves. The worst part is the black mold around the tubs is disgusting. I went to the office to complain and they gave me a different room and charged me $109. Which was more than the original room I had because it was a King bed instead. I wouldn't have had to change rooms if the first room was clean. I will never take the chance on a Red Roof Inn again.

Red Roof, Cleveland, TN-- do not recommend. I am being generous, giving a 2 star rating. It was in disrepair. Comforter stained, towel rack torn down but stubs still in wall at vanity, coffee machine not working properly. No one in Lobby at 8 a.m. when I checked out. Got some coffee in Lobby but creamer dust so old, it would not dissolve. Front of air conditioner gone. Ice machine not working. Did I mention this was a DUMP?

Was informed I would not receive my deposit because towels were dirty?? And I needed to replace washcloth... Now remember the wash cloth was mine from my car and the dirty towel was from the disgusting bathroom floor I gad sat down to step out of shower on. When asked for manager this simple minded lady said she was the manager... So what exactly try did I pay for the room if I have to clean it upon arrival and do the linens?? I've been outright robbed and can't do a thing about it. This is what Redroof has turned into it. Use to be a loyal customer staying several weeks a year nationwide. Seems to be very useless to make reservations to have a room booked. So, it was season opener, my daughter’s first year in college, first time to perform on the field. Big night, gonna be a great weekend, go to the game, get to spend the next day with her until we get to the hotel. Screeching halt, I walk in and the gentlemen in front of me that was talking with the worker at the counter seems that he had reserved a room but was given to another patron! What, oh no! So here the gentleman walks out wondering where will get another room this time of night. As I walk up I was thinking I already know what my answer is going to be too, I’ll be turned away with no room also. Well, as thought I was correct! What is the purpose of RESERVING a room for it to only be given as FIRST COME!!

Could that be explained, they say OVERBOOKED!! How does one get overbooked? I’m highly Upset, highly aggravated and highly angry! I call my daughter and explain I'm driving home due to the negligence from the hotel and I’m sorry to leave and our plans are disrupted due to inexcusable reason due to the hotel OVERBOOKING! I am only 1 1/2 hr away from home, and that’s what I done but what about the gentleman in front of me, I’m not sure of his story but I'm sure the situation was different! I know he wasn’t finding another room anywhere because most hotel was already booked when I reserved my room. What if this man had to drive another 30 mins on down the road (which it is) to find a room, what if he was to fall asleep at the wheel!! So shame on you RED ROOF INN. GET IT TOGETHER AND DO BETTER!

We stay at RR because of their pet policy. Just stayed at the Acworth location. The room was clean. Suppose to be non-smoking but smelled like old smoke. Not strong but still there. The hand soap dispenser was empty. The door handle to the room was very loose. The pet walk was just that. A walk. Small circular area in the back. It was OK. No bags in the dispenser and shopping carts at the dog area. Might have been another area I don't know. Since this RR was basically down in a hole they had to have a sewage lift station (?) that had the lid propped open. The Continental breakfast was cereal and a milk jug with an inch of milk. Maybe a small muffin. Waffle maker was broke. RRs are so inconsistent in quality and amenities. Our room didn't even have a coffeemaker. Didn't go to vending machines as the arrow pointed upstairs. That would be quite difficult for a disabled person.

Good afternoon, I made a reservation for two nights for Monday night and Tuesday night, June 23rd and June 24th, 2025. We were scheduled to check out at 11 am on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at 11 am. We reserved a handicapped accessible room. When we arrived, Sai- the receptionist, told me the Handicapped accessible room was not available, and they could offer us another room. he gave us the key to look at the other room to see if it was a room we could use.

As I returned to my car to drive around to look at the replacement room, there were some rocks in the parking lot, and I stepped on one of the rocks and my left ankle rolled and I fell face forward and rolled and fell on the ground behind my car. I had to crawl over the back of my car and use the bumper to brace myself and get up. After several tries, I was able to get up. I scaped both knees, my right elbow, and injured my left ankle.

When we went to the room, the extremely strong smell of smoke begins to aggravate my asthma. The desk chair was sold old and warn, it looks as if it was a chair retrieved from the garbage. All of the material on the desk chair was warn away, and it basically just foam cushion that was exposed. The vents on the front wall were rusted out and peeling. The bathtub was a regular tub and not a low step in accessible shower with grab bars. It was not a room we would be able to use. We returned to the front desk to inform Sai we would not be able to accept the room. AS the evening went on, my ankle became more and more painful. I will have to go to Urgent Care or the ER to have it checked out.

Terrible Customer Service – No Compassion or Flexibility. I booked a stay at this Red Roof Inn through Expedia for a trip in October. Unfortunately, my mother became seriously ill and was diagnosed with breast cancer, so we had to cancel the trip. I reached out to Expedia, and they informed me that they could issue a refund if the hotel approved it. When I contacted the hotel, the manager showed no empathy whatsoever. I explained the situation, but they simply said, “Sorry, we don’t do refunds” and gave the excuse that making an exception for me would mean doing it for everyone else.

Despite the extreme and unforeseeable circumstances, the hotel refused to show any flexibility. I even tried to dispute the charge with my bank, but since the hotel won’t approve a refund, I’m now out nearly $400. Please be aware that there is a no-cancellation policy, and this hotel clearly values policy over people. I strongly recommend booking elsewhere—especially if you want a business that treats guests like human beings.

This was the worst hotel/motel I have ever stayed at. The property felt sketchy from the start. While the front desk lady was friendly, the place was extremely dirty. My room was awful: the door latch was loose, the walls were filthy, there was trash and dust behind the bed, and the curtain was hanging off the rod. To make matters worse, there was a woman sitting outside the building was bags, it looked like she was homeless the entire time I was there, which made the place feel even more rundown and unsafe. I decided to check out early and booked a much better hotel just across the road. The Red Roof was near a breakfast spot, so I drove around and noticed the same woman still lingering nearby. Overall, this hotel was in very poor condition and definitely not a place I would recommend.

We had booked a six-night stay at the Red Roof Inn at Oxford Valley in Levittown PA. We had moved out of our apartment and were not able to move into our new home yet. The room was a deluxe double bed hotel room. My first impression was that the room was dark and dingy. One of the two beds was so close to the wall by the bathroom that you couldn't easily get in walking sideways. My son and I were there first and my husband was to join us. The sink had no stopper, just an empty hole down which jewelry could vanish. In the bathroom a rusted air vent cover was on top of the toilet. There were red stains in the bottom of the shower near the drain. Probably rust, not the blood of my first impression.

In the first three days we were there, housekeeping never cleaned the room or changed the towels or sheets. We ate out one day and I saved my salad for dinner the next night. When I took it out and put a fork in it, the entire salad lifted out as it was frozen solid. One night, the occupants of the next room had a screaming match, and the people in another room pounded on the walls and yelled for them to stop. In short it was a horrible experience and wished I had never booked a stay there. We checked out early and move to the Holiday Inn Express just across the street which was a wonderful place to stay.

Not only was the staff unapologetic and unprofessional, but the supervisor, Roxi, hung up when I was making my complaint. They will only reimburse if they find an actual roach. So basically, they imply that the complaint was fraudulent and too bad so sad. Whoever stays there, when you find the roaches take a picture to prove it or else they will not believe you and provide the best unprofessional customer service. 0/5

It’s good to know that when traveling with a pet you can count on Red Roof Inn to accept your pet (cat in our case). Until last night we usually stayed at a standard Inn where other travelers were also older and making their way to or from their winter getaway and generally friendly. We decided to splurge a little and stay at a Plus in Goodlettsville TN. The bedding and towels were an upgrade but everything else was MUCH worse. Bathroom door belongs in a dumpster, vinyl flooring was coming apart with strange little creepy crawlers coming in and out from under flooring, shower valve almost came off in my hand and then the hairdryer didn’t work. Noisy younger folks coming and going all night making beer runs. Will be scratching this one off my list.

Things started out ok until the TV quit about 7PM. Maintenance came by and I guess rebooted it somehow. He said it was a new cable system. It worked for a couple of hours and died again. When I called the front desk, they said someone would be there in the morning however, I was leaving in the morning. Worthless.!

The clock radio with alarm didn't work. I didn't get my 7AM wakeup call but what the hell, jumped in the shower and a huge shower head perimeter wise blew off almost hitting me in the head, I took the shower head to the front desk when I checked out. Ohh he said, "I will tell the manager." I said, "That's the problem, there is no responsible manager because at that point, my room should have been comped for the inconvenience." Paying $80 for a nightmare is not good PR for Red Roof Inn in Dothan AL.
