I have used Cheap Caribbean twice (2022 and 2023). Their prices are unbeatable as I searched many sites and prices before booking with them. Both trips and arrangements made were flawless. On the second trip, my travel partner had an accident. Although we did not get travel insurance through Cheap Caribbean, the post travel department was willing to reach out to the resort to see if we could receive any reimbursement or travel credits. They did so quickly and we did receive reimbursement, to my surprise! I don’t understand all the negative experiences as I can only express satisfaction and gratitude for Cheap Caribbean going above and beyond.

Reservation # **. I’m going to start by saying Cheap Caribbean is the worst agency someone can book your vacation with. And I’m going to explain the reasons. My family and I booked vacation right after Covid while doing Covid time with cheap Caribbean, and paid originally $3481.60. I paid insurance extra. They have two conditions either you take 60% cashback or you take 100% travel credit with the company. We were supposed to go for a 21st-year anniversary on April 27 to May 1, 2022 to Jamaica.

My husband had a heart cardiac procedure prior so, Due to medical issues we could not go. I did not want to take the chance to travel so quickly I called on April 20, 2022, to cancel. The trip got rescheduled again around the same time on April 27, 2023, to go again. But my husband became ill again with a cardiac issue. I won the same time this year 2023. So this thing is not coming to mine, having to travel when you dealing with the hospital dealing with medical issues to having to call or cancel, or let alone going up an airplane.

In June of this year when everything calmed down in my family I called and they told me to send the request for them to extend the credit. Send my boyfriend‘s number in an email and name new dates and destinations to the customer service with algvacations.com no one responded in June so on July 25 I called again and spoke with a lady named Joanna, she advised me to do the same thing synonym email with the request of extension for Credit and send it to her personal email for the company with the company and also with algvacations.com customer service. I did again second time. No response. August 14 called again, spoke with Edgar. He told me he advised me to do the same thing again send an email to reservation@cheapcaribbean.com and send my name reservation number, and desired location, with a medical letter from the doctor to show why my husband couldn’t travel, for credit extension no response again.

So yesterday September 27, 2023, I called again this time I spoke with three or four people they still gave me the running around, Murry told me she could not help me. She’s going to transfer me to a Post travel department for the credit and she’s going to explain everything that’s going on before the transfer to Cool so she did transfer the car when the person came on the line telling me that it’s out of her control. She does not see where they do a response. I said, "Ma’am why did you enter the car when Murry said she’s going to explain everything to you and now you are saying you cannot do anything about it," again the running around. So she transferred me to a reservation to make a reservation again and then they will use the credit from there. I know that’s going to be another waste of breath, but after I argued and became upset, I said OK.

Now, Juan picked up the phone in the pre-travel department. That is a win. Juan basically told me you were not going to get the credits they cannot extend it for me because you called after May 23 keep in mind people the original date was supposed to be July August 2021 to travel to Dr. Another told me that my expiration date for 2023 was May I did not call prior to that to cancel. Want to request an extension due to my husband‘s medical cardiac ordeal. Even with the medical letter that was requested, they are still unable to extend the credit.

Now I am really angry and pissed off. Why in the world for months all these colors all these employees been giving me the winning around that I could get the credit reinstated to travel for my wedding anniversary 21, 22,23 and As I’m trying to schedule it now for April 2024 and they told me no, this is over $3000 just like that when I steal from people. The last employee representative basically told me ma’am you will not get that credit or money or utilize anything with that money.

When it’s time for them to take your money, they will take it and charge your card. However, when you need the service for anything else, whether you email called you would wait at least 1 to 2 hours in the line before you can speak with somebody. 2nd) They tell you to send emails they never respond never reply to your email that is disrespectful thieving people out there. Who would NOT like to enjoy vacation time PAID with family? It’s like they are telling me your husband could not go, but you could go with your kids when my husband is sick celebrating the anniversary without him and who would take care of him? I just don’t understand this company. These people and I need something done about this.

We left our trip 2 nights early because we had such a terrible experience. We requested a refund & instead they sent us a message saying we were being penalized and charged for leaving early even though we paid for the ENTIRE TRIP IN FULL ALREADY. They only offered us a $300 credit that has to be used with them only and it expires in 13 months. This trip was THOUSANDS of dollars. We even bought flight protection which states you can cancel within 1 hour of your flight for ANY reason & they told me there was nothing they could do. TOTAL SCAM ARTISTS!

Our original package was for 9/1-9/5. However, we left on 9/3 because we were so miserable. We had to pay out of pocket for a separate flight home. We were originally in room 4033. However, the elevator dropped and broke WHILE WE WERE ON IT and we went to the front desk 3 times asking to have our room changed and finally after 5 hours they moved us to room 4135 on the other side of the resort so we didn't have to use that elevator again. They did not apologize for anything & were very rude to us. The elevators had no air conditioning so we were drenched in sweat each time we used it.

When I called the number for room service (803) they told me to call 819 & hung up on me. All the room service food was served cold & never hot. Every time we asked for cold water they gave us hot water bottles & told us that if we wanted cold water we had to go to the pool bar to get it (which is about a 10 minute walk & closes at 7PM). They only gave us sheets on our bed with no blanket so we couldn't sleep comfortably. The floor in our room was dirty & filthy. Our feet were black from dirt. The patio chairs were propped forward & locked into that position so you couldn't even lean back to relax. I asked for toothpaste and they very rudely told us to go buy some at the gift shop.

When we got hungry we realized that ALL the restaurants were closed and our only option was the buffet. The buffet was disgusting. It was covered in flies and had been sitting out for hours. We could barely eat it. When we got drinks from the bar at the pool, they barely put any alcohol in them. They NEVER cleaned our room. They left everyone's dirty dishes in the hallway for days at a time in the severe heat causing flies to gather in the hallway. When we went to the front desk to complain about all of this, the manager did not apologize or try to make us happy. They were very rude and basically told us "too bad".

We were so unhappy & miserable that we booked an early flight home. This was our first vacation in 3 years and it was the worst vacation I've ever been on. I cried so many times because we spent so much money on this and we won't be able to go on another vacation for years because of it. It was truly a nightmare for both of us. NEVER USE CHEAP CARIBBEAN OR GO TO ANY RIU HOTELS. YOU WILL REGRET IT!

I’ve been a Cheap Caribbean customer for many years with no complaints. Until now. To show the lowest price, I believe, they switched to Frontier Airlines as the primary included airline. Unfortunately, Frontier seems to purposely understaff at the detriment to their customers. To check my bag, at both airports involved an HOUR wait. They don’t seem to care. This was my second trip using frontier through Cheap Caribbean and they were we both horrendous. Sadly, once you add all the extra fees for seats and luggage, we could have used a different airline with much less hassle.

Horrible Customer Support. Planned and booked a vacation last November to Cancun for this October. Was notified by email this week that the resort we chose will be closed for renovations. No contact information on email, only choice was to reply and accept the new resort change. We have been to the newly assigned resort and it doesn't compare to the one we chose. Called customer service and was on the phone for over 2 hours while being transferred 3 times.

They changed the reservation and were absolutely no help to us. We had 2 choices, accept the new resort (which was over $450 less per person) or get a refund credit. With the insurance we took out they would refund trip minus the cost of insurance. We tried to rebook at a resort of our choice, we gave them 3 options. They wanted over $1000 extra for a comparable resort. No help, customer service, or compassion. I used Cheap Carribean several times in the past, NEVER, NEVER AGAIN.

Avoid booking with Cheapcaribbean. The only reason I decided to book with them this time was because they offered payment plans. I booked a 4 day trip to Cancun from 6/29/2023 - 07/02/2023. The departure flight I originally booked for was for 10:43am. I decided to call back and change the flight to an earlier flight they had which was at 6:54am. I spoke with one of their agents who charged me a $200 fee to change the flight time. I received an email with a confirmation number and the new flight time. The night before our departure I downloaded the United app and noticed that the flight time was still the same time I originally booked for. I tried calling cheapcaribbean but they stop taking phone calls at a certain time. I could not get through to anyone and I even waited 4 hours on the phone with united.

I come to the airport thinking that I can probably speak to someone and that I’ll still make the flight early. But it turns out I was never assigned to the new flight with the person I was traveling with. I was frustrated because we had to wait at the airport for 6 hours for my original flight time. I finally found a number to get in touch with cheapcaribbean and there was nothing that they could do because the 6:54am flight was already sold out and there was 26 people on standby. It was ridiculous because we were supposed to be on that flight.

The trip was already a short trip and we spent the entire day at the airport then another hour from Cancun airport to the resort. We were exhausted and couldn’t really enjoy our first day because of the flight change. Then we asked the hotel if it was possible if we could stay an extra night but unfortunately there were no more rooms available. At the airport I kept calling cheapcaribbean to see if there was anything they can do. They kept telling me to send emails on the situation and when I would try to send the emails I kept getting a blocked message. We really had to enjoy what we could with the amount of money I spent. I should of received a refund for the flight or for the night at the hotel. They’re only refunding me the $200 flight change fee. Horrible experience.

I booked a trip to dominican republic. All was fine until I got my flights. My only flights were on frontier airlines and I had to pick my seats and check my bags, final cost.... 385.00 added on to my trip. This is ridiculous the prices they charge. It should be included in your trip purchase or it should say if you pick this airline it will cost you more. Or for that matter maybe offer more flights with other airlines.

These MFs messed up my mom birthday to JAMAICA!!!. I booked months ago. Got a reservation confirmation and everything. We needed to update the amount of guest going which was handled mighty quick with no issues. The agent ensured I would get my refund for that one guest issued to my credit card, but that was a lie - ONLY A CREDIT TO BOOK WITH THEM AGAIN. Within 30 minutes of the end of the call we got an update confirmation. Same confirmation number but a totally different hotel 2 hrs away that was way cheaper than what I had paid in FULL!

I called back and was put on hold for 2 hrs!!!! For them to come back and say it was THEY ERROR-and they will fix it, but have to wait on the hotel to respond. The next day I called back. I was on the phone from 9am to MF 4:17pm with the back and forth, putting me on hold saying the exact SAME THING. “We waiting on a response.” So I requested a refund since they was not gone resolved it. Again another hold time waiting on the manager to reply back! So right now-we HAVE NO REFUND AND A RESERVATION SOMEWHERE WE NEVER HEARD OF!!!! $1500 just gone and we supposed to leave in 6 days!!!! I don’t want any credit. I WANT MY MONEY BACK SO WE CAN BOOK ELSEWHERE!!!! NO MANAGERS TO TALK TO! And idiots that can’t resolve ANYTHING! Thieves and SCAMMERS!!!! NEVER AGAIN.

I have spent DAYS on the phone with them over the past year trying to get the credit amount corrected. I have an email from them stating what the credit will be and then they state they can't honor the email they sent me?! They take your number and say we will call you back if we get disconnected, well of course I was disconnected several times over the course of the year going back and forth, they don't call back and when I finally get through to someone they state they can't call out. What a horrible company, don't waste your valuable time. I give them a ZERO.

DO NOT BOOK WITH CHEAPCARIBBEAN.COM. In a nutshell, we ended up not going on our trip that we booked in June of 2022 for departure in Jan 2023 to Barbados, because the airline canceled our flight out of San Diego to Miami. We were unable to cancel hotel in time and was charged a penalty for 1-nite. I have worked with the Hotel & Cheap caribbean and they both refuse to pay us for the one nite. We were penalized for something that was not our fault and because Cheap Caribbean has a relationship with the hotel, they should have been able to recover the funds. Hilton Barbados was the hotel, don't stay there either! The Manager's name is Adrian S and he could have reversed the penalty if he wanted to due to the circumstances. We had another friend on same flights/hotel, but she booked through Priceline and she was able to recover ALL of her money!

We purchased a vacation to Mexico a number of months back for this month and ended up needing to rush home due to a family emergency. When we purchased the trip we did purchase the insurance they offer, but to find out you have to jump through all sorts of hoops to get any refund back for the unused portion of the trip back. In addition to that we also had to find our own way back home as their customer service person was not able to get us on any flight until later in the week and had to take a taxi from the resort to the airport paying out of pocket again. They may have reasonably priced trips but if something happens don't expect to get any help from them or any money back even with having purchased their trip insurance.

I booked a trip through Cheap Caribbean yesterday at 2:00 pm to stay at the Riu Palace. The resort I originally wanted was the Valentin Imperial. I noticed that I had 24 hrs to change or modify my reservation so I looked later in the day and The Valentin had a similar rate to the Riu so I called customer service. I told them I was on their website and I would like to modify my resort. They quoted me a price of over $4,000 (which was $1,000 more than the price I was looking at on their website). I asked why the rate was so much more than what was noted on their website. I did screenshot the screens showing the price that I was seeing. I got all the way to the credit card entry portion and this was a live (current) price.

I was not on the internet for more than 5 min so I knew this price was current. If I was on the screen too long it would have given me an error saying I was idling too long. "Please start your search over." The only explanation customer service agent could give me was prices change randomly throughout the day. I do understand this as I have previously booked with Cheap Caribbean. I just didn't understand why their website was showing one price but when I called the customer service phone number they would not match what I was seeing on their website. I also asked if there was a supervisor or problem resolution number and I was told there are no supervisors at Cheap Caribbean? Was not given the option to speak with anyone to resolve the issue I was having.

The next day I called back and I spoke with someone and I emailed my screenshots of the screens showing the price I was seeing the night before. They responded by saying that they had no way to prove that my screenshots for the new resort and it did not show flight information (even though I was not asking for a change in flight) only wanted to change resort. They also stated that my screenshot was not time stamped which I did ask them why can't they look back on the comments from my all of my previous calls? I talked to several different agents. None of which were able to help me. It should show that I called to change my resort and the agent was not seeing the same price I was.

I guess when you are dealing with companies like this you are just supposed to know all of these little details of documentation. Instead of standing behind their name and making good on this, they take no accountability. They push you back and forth from one person to another. Nobody knows what is going on, why their website showing a different price than their agent see, and they are not interested in keeping your business or their customer service. They truly do make you feel like you are just a number. I would advise booking with another travel agency that is more reputable.

Did so - only to be told they were full and we couldn't have another room. Maintenance work going on outside our room, in the hotel from morning to evening - continuous noise.

Hounded ENDLESSLY by Amstar which was not disclosed by CheapCaribbean - at the shuttle at the airport upon arrival for 45 minutes while the shuttle driver stood there, upon check-in at the hotel again another 45 minutes, then called our room every 2 hours EVERY DAY - every morning and afternoon to try and get us to schedule an appointment with them!!! Paid for private shuttle to and from the airport - crammed into a 15-passenger van...took pictures of everything and filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau including pictures. This was a horrible trip and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone - their customer service is deplorable and you don't get what you pay for. If I could rate zero stars - I would.

Tldr: Amstar is a shady company with no support and Apple Vacations LLC continues to do business with them and does not take any responsibility for mistakes on behalf of Amstar. We paid for transportation and Amstar did not show up and we had to get a cab back to the airport. Apple did not fully refund us for this! If you use cheap Caribbean, don’t book anything but flight and hotel or better yet, book direct because Apple is a terrible organization. Update. Cheap Caribbean has since offered us a 50 percent refund after my partner submitted a claim with the BBB.

My girlfriend and I booked a weeklong stay in Puerto Vallarta Mexico through CheapCaribbean.com. We booked a European-style package meaning no food or drinks included since we don’t drink a lot. The airfare and hotel were fine. We also booked transportation to and from the airport as well as a Marietas islands snorkeling trip through CheapCaribbean.com. CheapCaribbean is owned and run by Apple vacations LLC, and a company called Amstar coordinates the activities and transportation in Mexico. Amstar also books tours and activities through a company called Vallarta Adventures.

We had 2 issues with our trip: We were not satisfied with the snorkeling trip as I will explain below and Amstar did not pick us up from our hotel to go to the airport. We were told there would be an Amstar representative at our resort. There was no representative. We were told by staff they usually come for a short time in the morning but when we woke up early to catch them, they were not there. Amstar and Apple have absolutely no support and when you call the 800 number for help, you can only speak to offshore call centers that can’t really do anything but listen to you complain and say they are sorry, an unpleasant interaction for both parties.

We filed complaints with post-travel at Apple which is a call center in India by the sound of the agent's accent. Very nice staff who are there to take your complaint and forward it to apple, which then decides to either escalate the case to someone who can actually help or reject it. Then it's up to these poor Indian guys to take all the heat and apologize for Apple's poor business practices. They told us that Amstar was unresponsive and there was nothing they could do.

Apple should have just refunded us and taken some responsibility for doing business with a poorly run company like Amstar. The snorkeling trip was straight-up false advertising, and the transportation was paid for and not even provided! Apple has completely closed all lines of communication, both email and phone, and just pay these call centers to take the heat so that they don’t have to have any contact with furious customers. If I was in the Philly area, I'd try going to their HQ in newton square PA but I'm sure that would be a waste of time also. After some searching, I found that they also have a declaimer on the site that they don’t take responsibility for false advertising, definitely the first red flag that you should not book anything through Apple or subsidiaries.

Here is the description of the snorkeling trip on cheapcarribean.com: “Visit the volcanic Marieta islands made famous by Jacques Cousteau. Snorkel, kayak and explore the wonders of this unique ecosystem and rock formations that make this an experience to be remembered for a lifetime” What the trip is actually like: Wake up at 5:30 am to get to the port. First bad sign, the entire time the boat is underway, they are blasting party rock from the early 00s. Think “party rockers in the house tonight…”. For hours… they suggest to ride up top if the volume level bothers you.

we arrive at the islands and are required to wear lifejackets so no free diving, whatever national park rules. Then we are forced to swim in a group of 40 or so, for about 10 minutes and get back on the boat. That’s it. 10 min of swimming around in deep jellyfish-infested waters where you can’t even dive to see things up close. Then the boat circles the island and we leave.

Kayaks are a lie, secret beach is a lie, even the snorkeling is pretty much a lie. We then cruise on the party boat for an hour or so to a private beach. The whole time blasting party rock with an open bar of cheap liquor and beer. neither I nor my girlfriend drink so that was completely wasted on us. Music blaring the entire time of course.

Then we arrive at the private beach where we have to spend another hour or 2 with nothing to do but drink or ride on speedboat towed, banana rafts (And of course the party rock, they have speakers up and down the beach). I would have loved to go snorkeling at this beach which would have made the whole thing a little enjoyable, but can’t do that because of speed boat traffic from the stupid banana boats. At this point we would have gladly paid to take a taxi back but there are no roads to or from this beach. As if it couldn’t get any worse, Vallarta Adventures makes the poor crew perform karaoke and air guitar reenactments of popular funk and R&B hits with James Brown wig, fake guitars and everything. At least the lead crew member has a great voice, just a shame he has to do these ridiculous skits. This not only wasted an entire day of our vacation but also a night since we had to get to bed early.

Apple should take responsibility for their products and they should hold their partners to a higher standard but I guess that’s what you get when you book with budget sites. Both these companies exist to take tourists' money and provide the bare minimum of service and I’m sure their workers don’t see any benefits of this profiteering. Then each company can say it’s the others responsibility and once they take your money, it’s not coming back whether you receive the product you paid for or not.

My advice to anyone considering a budget vacation would be to go to a site like cheapCaribbean.com and find the flight and hotel, then book directly through the resort and airlines. If anything goes wrong, Apple vacations had insured that they don’t have to take any responsibility for the quality of the products or lack thereof since they only exist as a middleman. This was a good lesson in why you don’t use Apple LLC or any subsidiaries. We are only out a few hundred from it but it's hard to put a price on wasting an entire day of a short vacation.

My transportation did not arrive to take me to the airport even after calling almost making me miss my flight. The serene snorkeling experience to the Marietas Islands was a false advertisement for essentially a booze cruise with 10 minutes of snorkeling in 7 hours. The boat blasted music which made sure there was nothing serene about it or animals around as the trip was advertised. I would have paid to get off of this boat as it was not at all what was described.

I just wanted my money back for the transportation that never arrived and was ten times more than the local fares and a refund for the add-on package since it wasted an entire day of my trip. The parent company, Apple, would not refund me anything and simply offered me free transportation on my next trip with the which will NEVER happen. It took over six weeks to get this response and around 10 phonecall and more emails. Horrible company, Amstar was horrible, Puerta Vallarta adventures was horrible, and the parent company Apple is horrible to deal with. Do not get your vacation through any of these companies.

We purchased a 4,5 star resort from CheapCaribbean. When we arrived in Punta Cana the resort was maybe a 2. No towels, mosquitoes everywhere in room, water leaking from bath roof, room and bath filthy. I contacted the phone provided for problems, the lady that took complaint said she would call hotel and have all fixed. Nothing! Called again and nothing so we spent 1500$ pp and 5 days in a dump, oh and agent taking complaint acknowledged they knew the hotel's declined but still rate it on Cheap Caribbean as a 4.5 star… This is plain and simple fraud. Nothing was done to fix problems. We were simply left in DR without any means to resolve our problems.

Everything seemed fine until the day before we left on our trip and I noticed there was no confirmation about the travel from airport to the resort. After an hour with 2 different customer service agents they informed me that the transportation I had booked 2 months ahead was not available. Now they want to charge me an extra $98 to get my family to and from the resort. I know it's only $98 but at the beginning of this experience they magically couldn't get me booked one night for the vacation and instructed me to call back in the morning.... guess what? Vacation increase over $1000.00 at that point. Customer service is available but what a joke. Do yourself a favor and use a reputable company or your local travel agent.

And they told me that we can get a voucher and use it at a later date...By the way we had another trip schedule for November of the same year to South America ...With upgraded seats...The airline for South America returned our money and even the upgraded seats..And Cheap Caribbean didn't...Now that for the past 3 months I have been trying to book again using my credits for Cabo. It turned out that they cannot because the airline which is what they reserve does not allow baggage...Just a small backpack...This I was never notified of because I would of paid the extra if I had to or never booked with them...I would of done individually airline and hotel...

Now I am asking for an extension and since I have until 6/30/22 I have to take within the next 2 weeks and pay full amount for air...So far no resolution for this...They took the $1300...That I paid...And they will not do anything...For everyone that reads this do not book anything with these people they are... Bogus..And very poor in their promises...Do not book with them...

We booked this trip through CheapCaribbean in January for Sandos Caracol Eco Resort in Playa Del Carmen, five months before the departure date. My friend and I were so excited to take our first international vacation together. We planned, shopped for, and talked about this vacation non-stop. I don't think disappointment would even be an appropriate enough way to describe how we felt our entire stay.

To start, and quite possibly the worst part of the experience, the food. INEDIBLE. I have been on plenty of all inclusive vacations. I know the food is usually ok, but nothing too spectacular. I always go to an all inclusive resort with a realistic expectation on the food not being the best. But I have always been able to find options that I am completely satisfied with. I am astounded that they would serve such poor quality and poor tasting food. The meats always looked like a mystery. The ones we were brave enough to try, we could not even distinguish what animal the meat came from or the texture or flavor was so bad that we could not eat more. My friend and I are not picky eaters. One of the things we enjoy most about traveling together is trying different food. How a resort in Mexico can have little to no Mexican food options, I will never understand.

The 1 Mexican restaurant that is on site should not even be classified as Mexican food. It was cold, bland, grey, and the meats were always weird textures. And that's how the food was at every restaurant and buffet. We had to order food from outside the resort twice for dinner and left the resort to have food in town for lunch too. We should not have to leave the resort or order food just to be able to get something decent to eat, so that we do not make ourselves physically ill from either eating the food at Sandos, or not eating at all.

The alcoholic drinks were equally bad. Despite our many efforts, we did not feel buzzed, drunk, tipsy, or even the slightest bit relaxed like you feel when you drink alcohol. We did not taste alcohol, period. The "alcohol" is either so watered down that it is practically water, or it's actually just water. One of the things that excited me the most was reading the food and drink menus online for the resort. The drinks sounded so exotic and delicious. Every single thing I tried that wasn't a beer was so unbearably sweet, syrupy, and artificial tasting. Everything fruit based tasted like it had a lot of artificial sweetener in it. They also do not clean the reusable plastic cups very well, because they always felt sticky.

The room was not what I was expecting for the Select Club, which we paid more to be in. I can't imagine what the regular rooms are like, if this is what we got for paying extra. The floors were filthy (just walking from the shower to the bedroom barefoot would turn my feet dark and dirty. There were also lots of ants in our room. Our balcony door would not lock and we were told that if we had any food in the room to be careful because monkeys can open the door and will come in to steal food. We were in a building near the adults only pool and every time we walked around the bend to get to our building, all we could smell was a raw sewage smell. It was revolting.

The Select Club was a scam. We paid extra so that we could enjoy adults only perks. The beach and pool mainly. The adults only pool and beach was filled with kids, and no monitoring. So what exactly did we get charged more to be in adults only for? It's really unacceptable. The beach is next. Massive, massive amounts of seaweed covering the shoreline and in the water. If you want to get to the clear (not really clear like I was expecting, but as clear as it could get there I guess) water, you have to wade through tons of seaweed first. Which also makes the beach smell bad. While I can understand and appreciate that this is something that is typical to happen in Mexico this time of year, we had no knowledge of this and would have likely scheduled the trip for a different month if we knew.

It would have been nice to have that disclosure prior to booking, considering we learned that this was not a 1 time phenomenon and it happens every year around this time. During the Royal Elite timeshare pitch, our rep suggested that we visit the sister resort, Sandos Playacar, that is 5 stars. We paid $42 for the taxi roundtrip (literally 5 minutes away) only to experience the same gross beach covered in seaweed and the adults only sections being inundated with children. The food was equally as bad/inedible. So what was 5 stars? The only positive I can say is that at least Sandos Playacar attempts to take care of the seaweed problem by having a beach plow driving up and down and having employees use rakes to move the seaweed.

The night life was another issue. Because there was no night life. There was a nightly show at 8pm. It would be over by 9pm. There would be another hour of the same dj'ed music every night. By 10pm, the entire resort is dead. No energy, no excitement. No dance club on site. I've never been to a resort that had nothing going on at night. So we would go back to the room and put the tv on, only to be disappointed that there are approximately 5 channels available.

One of the most triggering situations is the fact that there are non-stop people violating your personal space and approaching you to sell something. Whether it be a massage, excursion, hair braiding, photos...it never ended. Outside vendors selling things is something typical to Mexico and the Caribbean, but this was on another level. I'm not even sure if the vendors were 3rd party, or working for the resort. Either way, it was completely aggressive, disruptive, and it was happening about 30-50 times a day. Even if you're laying on the beach taking a nap, they will wake you up and ask you to buy whatever they have. This was even happening in the pool, while we were inside the pool.

Someone literally hovered above us at the edge of the pool and tried selling us something. Does that sound like an enjoyable experience? To be relentlessly harassed and followed around and have people begging you to buy from them and not taking no for an answer? The demanding sales people did not stop when you told them no either. You would have to say no 4 or 5 times before they would leave you alone. It made me dread leaving the room to even walk around the resort daily or to go to the beach or pool.

The Royal Elite scam is something I also need to discuss. They ask you to be part of a sales pitch to buy a timeshare, which they keep insisting is not a timeshare. They promise all these free things in order to lure you in and offer to only take 90 mins of your time and that it will take place over breakfast. So we show up for our presentation and are taken to the same gross buffet that's available to everyone. No special breakfast, and certainly not offered anything that the Royal Elite members would receive.

We were rushed to eat and get out of breakfast, but the sales pitch was long and drawn out. We were told that the food and drink quality is way better for Royal Elite members. Two things: 1. Why wouldn't the sales presentation include a meal from the Royal Elite exclusive restaurant so that you can actually experience the better quality? and 2. So, there's better quality food available and they are choosing to purposely feed people the same quality of food as prison slop? I am fully confident that the food in the Royal Elite section is the same garbage they're feeding everyone at the resort.

I have been reaching out to Cheap Caribbean every day since returning home, but they do not respond to emails or call people back. I would not have booked this trip if Cheap Caribbean was honest and disclosed what we would actually experience and what we should expect. We were bamboozled into thinking this was a 4 star resort, when it absolutely is not.

We have booked several vacations with Cheap Caribbean over the last 6-7 years. Previously we had no issues but this round has been highly frustrating. Purchased a trip to a resort that advertised free use of partner resort with water park (ours did not have water park, and the one with waterpark had no reservations available). This was entire reason we purchased this as we have kids, and the water park is our go-to.

About 3 months after purchasing and well before our trip, I happened to go to the actual website of the hotels, only to find out that the water park has planned renovation for 5 months, during which our trip is planned. Nonetheless, CheapCaribbean STILL says complimentary use of water park. I spent 30 minutes on chat and over an hour on the phone requesting to cancel my trip, as the water park was the main attraction for us. I explained in detail that FALSE ADVERTISING is the reason for our cancellation. This is not an error that we made or our own need to cancel, we simply bought something that is not going to deliver as advertised. We were told that we can cancel but it will use/void our trip insurance, which will not be refunded to us and we will only get a travel credit, not an actual refund.

I repeatedly explained that this was through no fault of our own and requested a supervisor but the agent delayed and made every attempt to keep me from talking to one, even said she talked to one for me and was told there is nothing they would do. I was offered a resort with no beach instead. I continued to request a supervisor, but was told it would be 20-30 minutes because they were helping other customers, then after waiting about 15 minutes was told that none of the supervisors were willing to talk to me because they would not change anything. I will NEVER purchase a trip through this company again.

Our flight was delayed due to mechanical issues with our plane and it caused us to miss our connecting flight to Jamaica. We tried calling CheapCaribbean and could not get through to anyone after being on hold for almost an hour. We then decided to send an email to see if we could get help that way, but kept getting pointless emails that were of no help. We ended up getting stuck in Miami for the night and lost an entire day in Jamaica. The airline was able to get us a flight out of Dallas to Miami the same day thankfully and paid for our hotel and food, but Cheap Caribbean was nowhere to be found.

We decided to contact Cheap Caribbean's "During Travel" department once again to see if they could add an additional day onto our trip (which the resort approved), but once again they were nowhere to be found. After several pointless emails from Cheap Caribbean. Thankfully, the hotel was able to provide us an additional night and the airline was able to adjust our flight to accommodate us. Cheap Caribbean, you guys really dropped ball this time. This trip was for our renewal of our wedding vows as well as our honeymoon. Never again!

I purchased a vacation package to JA, and I made sure that I purchased the travel insurance as well since these are such uncertain times. At the time that I purchased the travel insurance, I made sure to check the option that would allow me to get 75% of my money back in the event that I could not go on the trip. I ended up not being able to go, and I notified them that I would like to receive 75% of my money back per the travel insurance agreement.

Although I checked that option when I first bought it and reiterated it to multiple travel agents on the phone, they sent me travel credits that weren't even equal to 75% of what I paid for the trip. I specifically said to each and every travel agent that I spoke to regarding my refund, that per the travel agreement, "I do not want travel credits. I would like 75% of my money back." So, when I saw that they had completely disregarded the travel insurance agreement and what I told them each and every time we spoke regarding the transaction, I was very upset.

I didn't want to jump to conclusions, so although I was frustrated, I called them hoping that this was all just a mistake that could get resolved quickly. Per the travel insurance agreement, they are supposed to refund the money within 60-90 days. Mind you, it was well outside of the 90-day window at this point. But I calmed my frustration and explained to the agent what happened.

He put me on hold for nearly 45 min to come back and tell me that they would be able to give me only 500 and something dollars. 75% of what I paid was 735 dollars. He offered no explanation as to why they would only be able to give me 500 something and not stick to the travel insurance agreement. I told him that this was unacceptable to me and that I needed to speak to management. I am a licensed attorney in my state and I don't like to throw that around, but I could clearly see that they were breaching the agreement for absolutely no reason. So, I had to escalate the situation.

It wasn't until after I told them that their actions constituted a breach of contract and misrepresentation and applying much pressure and getting hostile that they finally....after nearly 100 days, did what the hell they were supposed to do and GAVE ME MY MONEY BACK. It's a shame that this is what you have to do to get a company to do what they legally promised to do. The money, all 735 of it, finally came in my account yesterday, but I'm like damn. The fact that I had to fight tooth and nail and drop the fact that I am a licensed attorney and my bar number to let them know that I wasn't playing, is a crying shame.

Corporations need to stop being greedy and dishonest and just do what they are supposed to do without the fear of legal action being pursued against them. I hate that I had to get that way, but it's the only way that I could get my money back. Needless to say, I won't be dealing with Cheap Con Artist Caribbean again in my life! That was the first and absolute last time! They lie and they TRIED to steal from me. The dishonesty and deception is absolutely disgusting.

The first two agents quoted me one price but with the first agent he didn’t want to wait for me to get my credit card so I had to call back and then with the second agent the phone call got disconnected, when I called back a third time the agent told me that my boyfriend was already on the reservation and my reservation was now a totally different price than the first two agents stated, the price difference was about $260. I questioned how was my boyfriend already on the reservation when the first two agents didn’t get my payment information and the price that I agreed to was different than what was currently on my reservation. I still do not understand where the price difference came from.

The third representative also stated that in the reservation my transfer from my original itinerary was not on there when I asked how is this possible if I have an email about my original itinerary that shows that I was charged for my transfer he said he wasn’t sure I ended up speaking with another representative who was very friendly but also told me that my original transfer was not on there and she was not sure why I was being charged more, I had to send her my original email to verify that my transfers were indeed paid for even though it wasn’t showing on their end.

After being on the phone with her for about an hour and a half she decided that it had to be escalated to a supervisor, even though when we both went onto the website the amount that was showing for two people was the same exact amount that the first two representatives had given me even though when I called back a third time the price was totally different, and not one that I had agreed to pay. How are you charging me more than what is currently displayed on your website? And where the heck did my original transfer that I paid for, go? I had to tell them to review the first two phone calls that will verify the amount I agreed to pay, the first two times, and not whatever was showing the third time I tried to call to get it paid. Thank god I had an email.

In terms of supervisor, She said the supervisor usually calls 21 days before my trip which is currently scheduled for April, so what am I supposed to do? I booked a trip with Cheap Caribbean just prior to the pandemic. 2 months prior to our trip I called as the Bahamas wasn't allowing Americans into the country. CC gave me my full travel credit to be used at a later date of $2005.78, good through 12/31/2021. I then called again to ask if they were able to extend any further in which I was told yes, through 3/31/2022. I was also told this was as far out as they would be able to extend.

So I called 1/3/2022 to make a reservation prior to our expiration date, and was made aware that I had a credit for $1,505.78, obviously $500 less than I paid. This was a cancellation fee I was being charged, although this had never been communicated to me, nor was I the one that cancelled. The pandemic cancelled this trip, the Bahamas cancelled this trip. So after 2 hours on the phone the representative asked that I give them 21 days for the escalations department to resolve this and add my $500 back so I could book my trip using the original amount I paid in full. Fast forward to today 2/4, another 2 plus hour call, and now all of my travel credit has expired as of 12/31/2021, and I only have $700 and some change in airfare credit good through 3/20/2022.

This company is the most unprofessional company I've ever dealt with. They owe me $2005.78 in total travel credit, or a refund for the same amount. It's ridiculous the amount of time I've spent on the phone with this company, and every time I'm asked to call back for the resolve, my credits are lowered. The only positive I will give them is the associates I've spoken with have been extremely nice over the phone, however their note taking must be horrendous, as nothing gets resolved. Cheap Caribbean is a total rip off. We paid them over $3,500 for a resort vacation. It was canceled due to the pandemic. They offered us credit towards a rebooking. We tried to rebook but were unable, again due to the pandemic. Not our fault. After one year of them having our money, they refused to rebook us AND refused to refund us our money. We contacted our credit card company to file a dispute. CHEAP Caribbean refused our claim because the charge was over a year old. How convenient for them. Not us. We are out a lot of hard-earned money. We strongly urge everyone to Never utilize this company. From all of the other reviews I have read, numerous other consumers have also been ripped off in the same way we were. Someone at CHEAP Caribbean must be sitting on a big pile of money just laughing at all of us suckers who thought we were actually going to enjoy going on a vacation but instead just got ripped off.

Cheap Carribean is a scam. They have no customer service. They will not transfer you to managers. They are not being helpful during COVID. They will not work with you at all. My son is immunocompromised and I had to put off a trip due to Covid. I got credits back in our names. Covid is still going on as of 1-2022. I have to book a trip or I will lose my credits. I begged repeatedly to speak to a manager to at least have the credits pushed to just myself since I can not take my kids. They just keep saying no. The fact that you cannot be transferred to a manager is disgusting. They take ZERO responsibility. No one is being helpful with Covid. This company should be shut down.

I've called everyday for nearly a month trying to get refunded and I'm put on hold for over an hour each time. Each call ends with them saying they'll look into it or they'll call me back which has never happened. I called today and was told the case was closed and they would need to open another case. They deserve 0 stars. I had a vacation credit for flight and hotel over $2000 which I received because of the pandemic. Now they are forcing customers to book trips by 3-30 or lose their credits. I call today to rebook a vacation as I am being forced and they do not have half of my credits for this trip in their system. Apparently they can hold customer's credits hostage because they booked them in the first place but can not rebook. My airline credits basically went missing and now I’d have to shell out even more money. Absolutely a nightmare trying to get anyone in this company on the phone to help. I have been on hold for 8 hours total today and still have no resolution. I will never ever consider booking another vacation with this company and will continue to write negative reviews about them because I am horrified by this experience.

Cheapcarribean is keeping all our money, no travel credits, nothing back at all. What a scam! I cannot believe this place can legally do this. After several days of calling and being on hold for hours at a time and even hung up on, I rebooked using another booking agency. When CheapCaribbean called, I advised the representative how dissatisfied I was and asked that my case be escalated to a supervisor.

I received a call from a supervisor; my family and I were already in Mexico. I informed her that I rebooked using another service in fear of not having hotel accommodations. I asked as a resolution, Cheapcaribbean issued a full refund for the hotel. I was told, "not a problem but, since the funds were already paid directly to the hotel, they will have to contact the hotel to get the refund, after which they will call with confirmation of the reimbursement." I spent my entire trip on the phone being referred around between Cheapcaribbean, the hotel, and the airline. TO DATE, AFTER SEVERAL EMAILS AND LENGTHENED PHONE CALLS, CHEAPCARIBBEAN CLOSED MY CASE.

We booked a trip to Cancun in July, 2021 for travel from 12/24 - 12/31, 2021. My wife and I along with 1 daughter were traveling from New Orleans, my other daughter from Amarillo, TX. Day of travel, Spirit airlines canceled our flight 15 minutes prior to departure and offered to reimburse both Cheap Caribbean for the flight and us for the upgrade we paid for separately.

The Spirit reimbursement hit our CC account on 12/26, but are yet to be reimbursed by Cheap Caribbean. I have called and emailed numerous times with absolutely no response. They owe us over $2400. The only woman who I was able to speak with was from Apple Vacation who told me that it could take 90 days to hear back, totally unacceptable.

On top of that, due to the flight change we had to take a later flight so my Amarillo daughter arrived 8 hours before us. When she got to the hotel she could not check in because Cheap Caribbean did not include her name on her room. While on layover in Houston we contact Cheap Caribbean who said they would contact the hotel to fix the situation. Once we landed in Cancun we found out that Cheap Caribbean gave the hotel the wrong name for my daughter, so she still could not check in. She was stuck in the lobby of an all-inclusive resort for over 8 hours, could not get in her room and could not get anything to eat. This company is totally unreliable, has questionable ethics, and inept. Before I begin, let me tell that I am a long time customer of CheapCaribbean.com and booked 5-6 trips through them. Their service used be good, until recently, when they were used to resolve the issues over phone. Now for everything they are directing to emails, which is not only very slow, but highly inefficient method of communication. So here is my story. I booked the family trip to Cancun, for 4, from Dec-20th to Dec-25th. Made the booking in Nov-first week, and within 2 days requested them to add additional room. This is what was promised.

    1. Upgrade to Sea View (subject to availability).
    2. Addition of second room at an addition cost of $108 (total), subject to availability.
    3. Late check-out on departure date (subject to availability).

    4. Have a safe flight back home.

And this is what I have received.

    1. When I reached in the resort, the hotel didn’t had any information about our reservation. I had to wait for 2 hrs before they gave me a room.

    2. They didn’t upgrade the to ocean view free, even when they had the rooms available.. but I was promised to get free upgrade. When requested at the front desk, they asked for additional money to upgrade the room.

    3. When asked for second room, they confirmed that they have enough rooms available, but they can't give it at $108. They tried to sell the room for $880. Tried to call and email CheapCaribbean.com' during travel department. They simply refused to honor their original quote of $108.

    4. The late-checkout wasn't free. The checkout time was 12pm, and I returned the keys at 2:30pm. They charged me USD$30 ($10/hr). Again this is not what CheapCaribbean.com promised (in writing).

    5. And finally the safe flight home.. We checked out the hotel on time. Reached the airport at 4:20pm, when the flight was scheduled at 7pm. To our surprise the United had our flight booked for Dec-26th instead of Dec-25th. I tried to show them the email confirmation showing our flight details, but they confirmed that the booking wasn't changed at UA end. It was goof up made by CheapCaribbean.com again. They messed up my booking. We were completely stranded on the airport. It was the day when around 1700 flights were cancelled due to Covid fear. Thanks to the United Crew, they were finally able to accommodate us on the same day flight, after hassling for an hour or so.

I am still following up with CheapCaribbean.com post travel department and asking for compensation. Don't have much hopes on it though.

I am so frustrated with the lack of customer service from this company. They told me via chat that they would honor a coupon, all I had to do was make the booking since they had to apply on their back end. Once I did, they transferred me to another department that couldn't do it. She said that it couldn't be done, and that I would have to book so she couldn't apply it without a reservation number. She told me to go ahead and make the reservation and she would apply it. Then, she told me that she couldn't get it to apply. She basically tricked me to get the reservation done, then told me I would have to call into support get it done. When I called, I waited for more than a half an hour and the agent said to call back in 10 minutes because the system was down.

I called back and waited 45 more minutes and AGAIN, was told no one could help me because their system was done. Because reservation cancellation window was only 24 hours, I started calling today. I waited 37 minutes, and the call was released before I ever got answered. When I called back, I was placed on a hold loop that said my wait time would be over an hour. I waited. Then it said it would be answered within 10 minutes. Then it went back to over an hour. Then it went back to 10 minutes. This is the third time I have called and I am back in queue is back for "more than 60 minutes". But no one answers. Not after 10 minutes, not even after 60.

I went ahead and tried chatting again, explaining that the agent yesterday said he got supervisor approval to apply the coupon and then transferred me to someone that couldn't do it. The agent, Atul, kept me on chat for over 40 minutes and then told me that he couldn't apply the coupon because it wasn't valid for the offer. I explained that was maybe why the agent @ aplopez@algvacations.com gave me another code, which I couldn't retrieve because the chat window closed when he finished the chat. I also assured him that he said he got proper approval to apply it and that it was stated in the chat. I asked him to pull the chat and he said there wasn't any other chat record. He said if I want to get help, I need to call support.

So, AGAIN, I am waiting on hold with the 800#. This time I have been on hold for 52 minutes (so far). That means collectively, I have wasted over 3 hours on the promise that they would get the coupon applied on the back end after getting special approval. This is beyond frustrating. How will I know this company will back me up on my trip if they can't even honor their word?

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR ANY TRAVEL NEEDS!!!! We have been continually lied to and dismissed by this company for over a year and a half regarding a trip scheduled and canceled in April of 2020. We were set to travel in April of 2020 when, because of the pandemic, had to cancel our plans. Because of the circumstances we were comfortable with Cheap Caribbean giving us credit for our trip, as we hoped to do the trip at some point in the future. We continued to communicate with the company regarding how long the credit would be good for, alternatives, etc. Multiple calls to the company with multiple representatives let us know that we had an airline credit and a trip credit.

In the spring of 2021, we decided to utilize our credits by traveling to the US Virgin Islands as we are not comfortable traveling internationally at this time. They informed us that we had to travel with our original air carrier (which was a CANADIAN airline, we live in the UNITED STATES). The borders have been closed so we were unable to travel to Canada to use the credit with this specific airline. We booked the trip with our 'travel' credits and had to pay additionally out of pocket for the airfare for the trip. We were informed by Cheap Caribbean that WestJet has our air credits. We contacted WestJet to find out our options for usage given that we are unable to travel to Canada to use their airlines.

WestJet informed us that Cheap Caribbean has our credits/money and they cannot help us directly. Upon speaking to various representatives for hours, conference calls between the airline and the company, emails and promises of call back - the company is not refunding our credits, not allowing us to book a flight through them with the SPECIFIC airline they SAY we have to use due to them having our credits. The only option they are giving us is to book ANOTHER trip with them to a Caribbean location (even though WestJet flies to US destinations).

They have STOLEN $1600 dollars from us with no recourse, no options and no care. We have already worked to use our credits with them, were told LIES about being able to use our air credit, and have continued to LIE to us regarding who has our money. This will be posted on every review website and reported to every agency possible. Do not use these crooks. They will steal your money, not communicate, not assist, and you will waste your life trying to get any resolution.

If you are reading this review before you purchased a package from CheapCarribean.com, don’t do business with them. The company offers you a good deal package, goes all the way to get your money, sells you protection plan in case you need to cancel or change, but cancelling your trip and receive your money back is not possible. My 83 years old mother purchased a package during COVID pandemic with protection plan. She called company before purchasing to confirm she can make changes or cancel. She explained that due to her age and health conditions she needs to have ability to cancel and she was assured by the business that she can do it any time. She paid over $2800 as a deposit. 10 days later, her doctor advised her not to travel, and she called to cancel.

Now I will describe multiple phone calls, emails and interaction with the company to cancel this package. 1) My mother called to cancel. Customer service said they are not refunding airfare, they are not refunding cost of the protection plan, but we will receiving net credit (points for future travel) worth $400. 2) We called airline directly, and asked if it’s even legal to not refund airfare and can we cancel this airfare directly with the airline. The airline customer service cancelled the airfare and assured us that all airfares are refundable, can be cancelled any time during pandemic. However, the airline will have to return funds to the company who paid for the tickets.

    3) We called cheapcarribean.com again. Now, we have airfare cancellation and email communication from the airfare. We are requesting to cancel the package and receive our money back. Customer service accepts the airfare cancellation, and adds airfare cost as points to future travel. Now we have $2400 worth of points. 4) We called again and again asking to get our money back. The only respond we get is ‘it is company policy’ not to refund customers in form of funds. 5) Once during my multiple phone calls someone suggested to write an email to headquarters, attach doctor's note and ask to cancel package for refund. We sent email, which returned with the message that mailbox is not monitored. 6) We filed report with consumer protection agency, credit card company and district attorney. This company is fraudulent. Do not do business with them.

We spent 3 days during our 10 year anniversary trip trying to get in contact with someone from Cheap Caribbean. While we were at our destination. I called once and spoke with an agent and chatted twice before our departure to Sunscape Akumal… We were told there would be no effect from the hurricane here but when we got there, we were informed that the air conditioning was down. The electricity was intermittent causing wifi issues and no phone. There were very few times during the first 3 days of our trip that we had the ability to reach out to anyone and that caused me to spend most of my time trying to use email and phone instead of relaxing.

The agent from cheap Caribbean that I spoke to AND both that I chatted with said the resort was fine, but it was miserable there. We couldn’t sleep, it was 90 degrees with high humidity and had no fix in sight. The humidity caused water to soak our floors. I fell twice and my wife fell once. We couldn't be moved from our room because every room was experiencing outages but we visited Secrets on our first full day there which is almost next door and they haven’t been affected at all. They had full power, AC was working and wifi was fine. We went there to see about buying a hotel package and received a resort credit.

We were extremely uncomfortable and unhappy, and feel like we wasted 1600 on our 10 year anniversary vacation. I attempted to call multiple times but we could not get through and the same with chat as soon as we arrived at the resort. I finally got through to a chat with an agent named Yeshpal and she told me to call. I explained that I cannot and she told me to email. I emailed multiple times but got an automated response. This was so unacceptable. I finally got through on the phone and was on hold with the agent while he looked for available resorts to switch to nearby. After 30 minutes I was disconnected. I called back and after a while on hold I received help from an agent who said we could switch to secrets or Dreams Tulum. We were told we had to pay the difference and pay for a cab to get there.

We could not stay one more sleepless night at the resort so we were forced to spend more money. So midway through our 10 year anniversary trip we switched resorts. A day after being at Dreams Tulum, I received an email from a Cheap Caribbean agent saying it looks like our issue was resolved. We are currently booking a family vacation for spring and we will definitely use an actual travel agent. We felt completely stranded using you guys. If there was a legitimate safety issue you guys would be nowhere to be found. Also, we have international calling on our phones with Verizon so that wasn’t an issue. Reservation # ** Based on these reviews, I'm not expecting my refund anytime soon. I had to cancel my trip due to testing positive for COVID-19. I was told 30-90 days. I don't understand why it takes that long for a refund. I want my money asap or I may seek legal advice as others have suggested.

We had a trip to St Kitts Nevis in March of 2021 - everything with booking was OK. When we landed the chaos begun. They erroneously gave us a non existent flight home, which we had no idea, then ONE DAY before we are leaving they cancel the flight and book us on one that departs from A DIFFERENT ISLAND (they gave us a flight out of St Maarten when we were in St Kitts!!!). Cannot get ahold of anyone - absolute nightmare. Had to stay an extra night and absorb all the costs associated with their mistake.

The kicker, we had trip insurance which DENIED OUR CLAIM - so we were out around $500 plus aggravation. CheapCaribbean's solution??? Give us a $50 gift card towards trips with them in the future. NEVER AGAIN will I book through them. Customer service was terrible/mean, and good luck finding a valid number. The number pre printed on their emails is WRONG. Also, read through when buying trip insurance through TripMate/Nationwide - they often will not cover mistakes made by the carrier, etc.

This is the second vacation package I have purchased. Neither package I received “what I paid for”. First vacation was November 2020, I excused the mess up seeing the pandemic was new and things could easily go wrong. Second was August 2021, my daughter’s 21st bday which was ruined by this company. We selected a resort in Santo Domingo In the Dominican Republic with ocean-front bungalows (an extra charge for the bungalows which I was glad to pay due to knee surgery. I can’t walk a great distance or steps I’m 2 months in recovery). The resort was overbooked, bungalows unavailable, I paid for them 2 months in advance! I was put on your 3rd floor no elevator!! I called Cheap Caribbean as soon as the mistake was discovered. (a 200.00 phone call and 2 hours on hold) I was told someone would have to call me back (no return call yet 08/17/2021).

All inclusive well that didn’t happen either. I read a review saying you could only eat at the restaurants 2 days during your stay. I had the Cheap Caribbean rep call the resort to see if the was accurate— they assured me this was not true information, we could make a reservation at all 7 restaurants each day of our stay— nope! 2 days! Period and only 2 restaurants were not booked. My daughter wanted seafood on her bday, she didn’t get it and was u able to get it our entire stay. They also promised us the resort would do something special for her bday. That didn’t happen either. The company has sold me rooms on both vacations that were not available upon arrival! So buyer beware!!!

Updated on 11/19/2021: UPDATE. Tried to get the money back from my bank And they said Cheap Caribbean told them they canceled because we didn't make the final payment. But the final payment was on auto pay. Looked back in my email and sure enough I have a confirmation of auto pay from cheap caribbean. I have sent this to my bank and Attorney. This is a drop in the bucket for them to fight to keep my money when they KNOW they are wrong is despicable.

Original Review: Booked with Cheap Caribbean months in advance for a trip to Cabo. A week before our trip they canceled our reservations and said that we didn't pay our final deposit. Gave us no notice about payment due. They had our bank account number and authorization where they could have taken the payment. Then when we tried to rebook they kept our $1300 saying it was a Penalty fee. When asking to speak to a supervisor they suddenly do not have one even though they're speaking to 1 when you're talking to them. They just keep blaming their "system".. Do not book to the site. They will steal your money. These people should be ashamed Of themselves. Taking advantage of people's savings during Covid Makes it even worse.

I called to ask to get an extension until March 2022 as the pandemic seems to be getting worse and I am Immunocompromised and my daughter is 2 and cannot be vaccinated. We were told NO! This company should be flexible during these times and not making people choose between health or money. I’m not even asking for a refund, only to postpone the travel for another few months. Highly disappointed as people are dying and jobs being lost!!!

Used Cheapcaribbean.com to book vacation to Cancun. Was very easy and what I could tell was the best prices during my research. Also before travel we ended up transferring resorts because of the seaweed issue in Cancun right now. With us switching it ended up being cheaper and gave us a $800.00 travel credit that we could use towards excursions once we were there or so we thought. Once we arrived to Cancun the resort we ended up going to was absolutely awful and disgusting and immediately we knew we wanted to make a change since we purchased travel protection.

First day was on hold for an hour. Finally got a hold of someone just for them to say their department didn’t deal with “during travel” issues so was transferred. Was on hold for another 2 hours all while the voice recording would jump around and say “expected wait time 10 minutes, expected wait time 30 minutes, 10 minutes, expected wait time." Now over 60 minutes etc. Finally gave up and hung up.

Next morning first thing, again tried to call and wait. Same thing happened. 3 hours of waiting and no response. Hung up and decided to just make the best out of the trip. We have travel credits so we just decided to book several excursions. Went to my AMSTAR representative to book excursions whom I could never find not once out of the 6 days we were there. Finally called again to book excursions and use to credit I had. Again was transferred bc we were already at destination. Was on hold with them for another 3 hours with Zero Response so said screw it and we just paid out of pocket for our excursions bc I wasn’t going to stay on the phone our entire vacation.

Then comes our transportation back to the airport which was prepaid for when I booked the trip. Flight left at 11:45 and they scheduled us on a giant bus to be picked up at 8:30. This bus was scheduled to stop at 3 more stops after they picked us up. By the time they stopped at the first stop it was already 9:15 and we were still 30 minutes away from the airport. International flights are supposed to be at airport 3 hours before so we brought this to their attention. Instead of of them accommodating us and switching us to a smaller SUV to take us, they took us off the bus and left.

We were stranded there and were forced to pay 150 for a taxi to take us to the airport… Again all while on the phone with cheapcaribbean with no response ever. By the time we got to the airport it was 9:45 and we barely made our flight. If we would have stayed on the bus there is no way we would have made it in time. Will never use this company ever again. They sure answer to book a vacation but as soon as they have your money, good luck with them if any issues come up during your travel. I guess there is a reason they call it “CHEAPcaribbean”.

After 8 years I will never use them again. Like a lot of these reviews say you can not get past the rep to a team leader. I made reservation for 4 people on 2 separate reservations in 2019. When I called to rebook all was well til the end and I said, "That’s not all my credit. We are missing something." She looked again and said she could find no other credits for me. I said, "I know there’s more. I will find the card I used." Her response, "No problem. Call back as soon as you find it and we will credit it on this trip." I go find it, call back and it’s after hours. Call next morning and go thru it all again to find out my reservation number was changed in June of 2020. So the first girl couldn’t find it. This lady says they expired on June 15th 2021. This would be because THEY issued a new reservation number. Remember that.

She says call United and see if they can help and gives me the P/R # I will need. United was VERY helpful. She said my credit was good til feb 2023 and there was no issues. Remember that changed reservation #. CC was also charging me a 250.00 cancellation fee because I cancelled and rebooked twice. I did not, they changed the number and the computer took it as a 2nd cancellation when I called to really cancel it. United says, "We have not charged any fees for any Covid changes and our fee is actually 200 not 250." She looks back on all my trips and nope. No fees from United. That tells me Cheap Caribbean is charging these fees and telling customers it’s the airline not them and pocketing the whole thing. I now have my eticket numbers and calling CC back again. Closed again.

Next morning call 3rd lady, she proceeds to tell me the kind of fare I booked 2 days prior is not the same and my credit of 850.00 can’t be used. Then I finally lost my cool. I asked for a manager, nope, she said they could review the calls. I said, "Ok let’s do it," and then it changed, "No no we won’t do that." The only option I had was to cancel my trip and rebook under the other date type and PAY a 200.00 cancellation fee per ticket because it had been more than 24 hours since I booked it. I said, "I called the day after and you told me they were expired and sent me to do all the leg work and hours on the phone to make the valid. I did all that and you want to charge me." I said, "If I call United back and get this fare changed am I going to get charged a fee?" After holding for 20 min longer the line disconnected. No call back ever!! They are stealing from people after the worst year ever. Disgusting.

Upon check-in, I verified this at the concierge where they told us that the reservation did not include food and drinks. I tried to call their customer service number twice and on both occasions, the wait times involved were 58 and 72 minutes respectively. I resorted to email which they replied to by denying my request to provide food and drinks. Upon returning home, I requested my credit card company to reverse part of the total amount charged to cover the money we spent for food & drinks. Cheap? Yes. Good? No.

We had a trip planned for November 2020 with Cheap Caribbean and also purchased enhanced insurance because we were told we could cancel for any reason and get a full refund. COVID hit and it was not safe to travel, so I called in September to cancel and our Hell began! When I called, I was told we would only get 75% of our money back, even with the insurance. I was even told to call the insurance company myself! Instead of losing any money, I put the trip on credit with Cheap Caribbean so I wouldn't lose any of our money. When I called to rebook, I was told the credit had to be used by one date and the airline credit had to be used 5 months before that. They told me there was nothing they could do to extend my flight credit and I would have to call the airlines myself.

Cheap Caribbean was my booking agent! They took my money, and yet when there was a problem, I was put in charge of calling all agencies involved. After more than 32 phone calls and emails and more than 38 hours on hold with Cheap Caribbean, the airlines, the insurance company, and the transportation company, we finally went on our trip!

On top of all the issues, Cheap Caribbean booked us on Spirit airlines and never told us we had to pay extra for carry on bags, boarding passes, and seats! Also, our flight was changed without our knowledge and because of the change, we lost an entire day of our paid vacation. I was asked by one of the many customer service agents what I was asking for and I told her I would like an extra day at the resort to compensate us for the day we lost. That never happened, even though I met someone on the plane who received an extra day from them. On the Cheap Caribbean website it states they "are committed to your satisfaction, from the first click through your entire trip!" They are NOT! They take your money as the booking agent and then you are on your own! I had a contract with Cheap Caribbean and they did not honor it! Do not use them to book your trip!

We are going with another couple for just 4 days so a $2000 increase in price for a 4 day weekend was too much. My email said I would eligible for a refund if I chose to not use the flights. I called in and, after waiting on hold for an eternity, I reached a very nice Agent who assisted me in rebooking a flight that was very close in time to my original and only $437 more - or so she said. Turns our she failed to mention that I land at 7:30PM in my layover airport and do not depart until 8:20 AM the next morning!

When the error was uncovered, I called back in only to be told that the flights that booked me were non-refundable or changeable by the airline so I could cancel them and forfeit the $$ and just rebook all new flights (a cost of almost $4000) or have my call reviewed. I, of course, chose a call review. I was then called back and told that a call review would take 5-20 days. I leave in less than ten days! So CheapCaribbean has basically ruined this whole birthday celebration for me. I am so frustrated and currently on hold (for the last hour) with the airline trying another avenue to salvage this trip.

I rebooked a vacation that was cancelled due to COVID. I rebooked this vacation about 2.5 months ago. When I spoke to the agent I was told what the remaining cost for the vacation was after travel and air credits were applied, which I paid in full. Now I am 12 days away from my vacation, only to find out that the full amount of credit was never applied. All of a sudden over $4000 dollars no longer exists. There were 3 separate reservations for 3 families and I was told that the amount for 1 reservation credit was applied to all 3, which makes no sense mathematically.

I will never use CheapCaribbean again and will never advise anyone to use them. This is not the first time we have had trouble with this site. 6-7 years ago another vacation that we booked, once we got to the hotel, we were told our reservation was moved to the sister hotel, at the time I thought it was the hotel's fault but after this experience I am not sure that it wasn't due to CheapCaribbean's awful customer service.

I am disgusted with the service provided by Cheap Caribbean and the transfer they booked with Amstar. I missed one full day of my vacation to Mexico due to the error of the booking agent. My name was spelled incorrectly in the reservation and when cheap Caribbean was contacted immediately after receiving the email confirmation, we (it was a two person trip from two different cities) were told it would be corrected and resent. The second email included my correctly spelled name along with the incorrect spelling on the itinerary with no change to the spelling on the airline ticket. Cheap Caribbean was called again and we were assured that because one letter was in the wrong place, as long as I had proper passport and photo id, I would be allowed to check in. This was incorrect.

I got to JFK and Delta nor Aeromexico would allow me to check in and stated they were unable to correct the spelling - it was something cheap Caribbean had to do. I waited on hold with cheap Caribbean for over one hour in the airport before speaking to an agent. An agent that tried to make jokes and make light of my situation. By the time I finally was able to speak with this unprofessional woman, my original flight had departed and I was told there were no other flights I could board that day and would have to wait for the following morning. I asked for a confirmation number and was told it would take 2 hours because “ticketing was slow on Sundays”.

Needless to say I never got that email so I called again and after another hour on hold I spoke to another woman that was able to give me a record locator for my new flight, which she said the previous agent hadn’t actually booked - she had only sent a note to the ticketing section, and that I would get a new confirmation email. That email also never came but at least I had the record locator which I was able to use and check in with. I wasted transportation money in car services to and from the airport my original flight day 5/9 and had to go and get another Covid test done to ensure I wouldn’t be told I was outside of the three day window.

When I asked for a refund, the first agent told me someone would contact me regarding that (clearly she just didn’t want to deal with the matter) and the second woman told me I wasn’t entitled to one because the other person in my party was able to go on the original day. I paid $700 for 5 days 4 nights (5/9-5/13) and was cut to a 4 day 3 night (5/10-5/13) trip due in FULL to their error and no efforts were made to extend my trip by a day (which I asked for before leaving NY and was told I’d have to pay for the additional day in full) or to refund me my money. The other person in my party successfully getting to Mexico has zero to do with the money I spent for my portion of vacation for 5 days. If I paid for five days I should get 5 days or a refund for the day of my vacation they caused me to lose.

When I finally arrived to Mexico a day late, Amstar did not have my name on the list for transfers that day (because I was supposed to arrive the day before and clearly my repeated efforts to ensure cheap Caribbean accounted for this when they booked my new flight were ignored) and I was told I had to wait for a hand written ticket. I then waited one full hour in the heat before being given a ride to my resort. Leaving the resort, Amstar dropped me off at the wrong terminal at Cancun airport. I had to pay $25 USD for a taxi to my correct terminal so that I could make it home and not miss my flight.

This vacation was the worst I’ve been on due to the many failures of this agency and its lack of efforts to amend the situation. And I will be telling as much to everyone that asks about my experience until I get my refund. All of this could’ve been avoided had they just extended my reservation one day like I asked after they made me miss my flight and full night and day! Disgusted that the initial booking agent didn’t just correct the airline reservation when told it was incorrect and even more disgusted that no one tried to make the situation better after it all went downhill!

After spending $2000 on a vacation, the flight changed and arrival moved 3 hours later unannounced. It is impossible to reach a human who will help me reschedule my flight to arrive earlier. First, I called the general care line and was given an email to contact for flight changes. The rep said a 3 hour change is considered “minor.” After 2 weeks, I have not received a response via email. I am not sure the email I received is even legit. I called again today and I have been on HOLD FOR 4 HOURS and counting. There is no doubt Cheap Caribbean is well aware of their response times. They could provide an automated callback like the other 99% of call centers. Instead, they make you wait on an infinite hold and don’t respond to emails so they don’t have to help. BEWARE, They will make changes unannounced and you have no recourse.

Before I signed my contract with them communication was great, they responded back to me timely and thoroughly, I was feeling confident entrusting them with helping with my destination wedding.

Literally the moment I signed my contract, communication stopped. I emailed the person I was originally dealing with and received an automated response that that person was no longer with the company (first red flag). Once I got in contact with my “wedding group department”, I was originally told that the goal response time was 24-48 hours. That seemed reasonable to me, but unfortunately I have never been able to get a response from them in that timeframe. Emails to them from me go unanswered for weeks, I’ve actually emailed them almost a month ago now and still haven’t gotten a response. My guests are frustrated with how long it takes to get back to them as well, adding additional stress to my wedding planning.

I feel completely bait and switched by this company and truly regret choosing them to help me plan mine and my guests travel arrangements. The customer service is just beyond terrible. Any time we try and call them also it’s at least an hour and a half wait to get ahold of anyone. I’ve contacted managers begging them to please assign me my own dedicated agent with a direct line of contact, and was told that was not possible. We had booked a trip for a destination wedding in 11/2019 scheduled for 5/2020. Given the pandemic the wedding was rescheduled and we had to adjust our dates. We had purchased enhanced trip insurance. When rescheduling, we discussed trip insurance being transferred to the new reservation and were informed this does carry to the new reservation. We then had to cancel our trip in November due to the pandemic and have now been waiting 6 months for a refund. Upon calling to inquire about the refund today, I was informed that when rescheduling my original reservation, the customer service representative never documented my trip insurance so we can now only be offered a credit.

Currently, they are reviewing our case by listening to our recorded phone call from rescheduling to make sure we asked that the trip insurance be transferred. They say if the call transpired the way we say it did, we may be able to get a refund but it will be at least another 20 days before they finish looking into this. Completely ridiculous and dishonest business practice. We will never book with Cheap Caribbean again.

I have been dealing with canceling and actually was thinking about rescheduling with them but after the run around since January I will never use this company again. I've asked multiple times to email me confirmations of our conversations and asked for every representatives ID number and they tell me that there is no way to email me confirmations of our phone calls or once I ask for a manager or even someone with a better understanding as to where my refund is they also tell me they cannot do that. Not a happy camper! I've used them a few times before without any real problems. This time however we planned to go to St. Lucia with the travel credits from the year before from the canceled trip due to covid. In the initial confirmation email they sent came the same 1 million page fine letter stipulations with around 18 "blue" links for your reading. One of which happened to a link to a travel authorization page that St. LUCIA requires before travel. They want this 7 days before travel with a covid test no more than 5 days out. Long story short I didnt see the link. Get to the airport at 330 am to start our journey and am told we cant fly due to this and by the way they put my name down wrong on booking. It's my maiden name.

So I start the form immediately and thank God I had a covid test done before anyway. We got sent to 3 different airports in 1 day which resulted in a 24 hour delay in our trip and an extra hotel bill in Miami. I spent all day emailing and or calling people and good Lord pay more than 1 person to answer the phones at CheapCaribbean. I had 3 different tones. Emailed them with questions before hand and I only got back responses that were copy pasted from the original million page document. Hey how about you check in on international travelers who within a few days of travel dont have your authorization forms done or give me a call or an email when I have a question not just a copy paste. DOUBT we will ever use them again.

I had to cancel my trip due to Covid restrictions. I submitted a request through their website and followed up with a phone call days later to confirm. The customer service representative told me there would be no issues and I would receive a full refund. The confirmation receipt said I needed to wait 45 days for processing. After the 45 days and no refund or update, I called again and was told to wait 90 days. At the 90 day mark I heard from the other couple I was traveling with that they had received their entire refund in full. I waited several more weeks just to wait my turn but nothing. It has been 5 months since I have made the request and since then, I have been told that I would only receive a refund for the airfare and no one would tell me why I was different from my companions who receive all their money back.

I have called in, email and used the chat feature and the service I received was so poor. Either no one actually wanted to help me or they couldn't be bothered enough to actually tell me a straight answer. Whenever someone seemed like they were unable to answer my question, they would either hang up or transfer me to another department where I would have to explain again what I needed. The only thing anyone could tell me at the end of every conversation was that I needed to wait more time. I'm sorry, but I have waited almost half a year with no resolution. I would stay as far away from this company as possible.

On past trips I have used Cheap Caribbean to book trips with great results...but all of that changed on my latest booking where I needed to contact customer service. To start this nightmare off, I accidentally booked our trip to be breakfast only instead of all-inclusive, when I heard the wait times for phone customer service, I immediately cancelled the trip online myself and rebooked as the all-inclusive, no problem right? Wrong. It's now been 30 days and I still haven't been refunded the original booking to my credit card ($2,500 accruing interest on my dime). Customer service has since told me via e-mail that it will be 30-60 days from the date of cancellation, I've never had such a long wait time to be refunded with any other company.

I could have gotten over that but I randomly received an email late last week titled "Important Schedule Change Information for CONFIRMATION NUMBER" from ** (which via Google search looks to be the parent company of Cheap Caribbean). To paraphrase this email said, "We received a change to your original flight schedule for your upcoming trip" and provided me an alternate flight plan on a different email with connections and wanted to charge me $185 more per person (the original flight was all non-stop). There was no real other information except to email them back to accept the different flight or to call the customer service number. Mind you I checked with Delta and the flight confirmation they sent me is still good so I'm not sure what this is all about.

Thus started the living hell that is the Cheap Caribbean customer service phone line. Traveller, God forbid you need to call customer service with an issue on your trip, because you will rack up thousands of dollars in international phone minutes. I have spoken with three customer service reps and waited on hold for over 6.5 hours and counting (I'm still on the phone and that prompted me to write this review). Here are the summaries of my attempts to contact them:

    1) Waited 2 hours to talk to a rep, they told me I needed to be transferred to another department and after another hour on hold, I was disconnected.
    2) Waited 1.5 hours on hold to talk to a rep, I told him my issue and he was extremely rude and told me to quit talking and that it was his birthday, after a diatribe about his birthday I was told that it was a fake email and to call Delta.

    3) Waited over 2 hours to talk to a rep, she transferred me to another department where I have been on another hour of hold and counting.

This service is terrible, I still have no clue what is going on with my flight and I have now wasted a lot of valuable time just trying to get an answer (in addition to the interest racking up on the refund that takes 30-60 days). At this point who knows if this second department will pick up or be able to solve the issue, will I be on hold until I die? It is quite possible.

Called the number provided - was informed that expected wait time was 137 minutes - was on hold for 48 minutes - I gave up. 3. Emailed AGAIN - asking if there was a way to book online and make changes to reservation - no response. 4. Called again (directed to existing reservations)- message stated they were closed & to call back later - even though website stated they were open.

    5. Called back selecting NEW reservation - over 1 hour on hold - rep not able to process my credit card....no indication from my bank that a transaction was even attempted. a. Put on hold again. Informed that she would reach out to supervisor. b. Then put on hold again so she could, "work on the transaction." c. More hold time - at 1 hour 7 minutes - THEY PLAY A WAITING GAME - because they know that you will likely GIVE UP and then they don't have to do anything.

Needless to say Cheap Caribbean should be called "Poor Customer Service that Treats Their Customers like Crap Caribbean"...not very catchy but very accurate. DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY, YOU WILL BE GREATLY DISAPPOINTED! Put this way....You will get a much better experience if you BOOK DIRECTLY with the resort. Use Cheap ** site to do research and read reviews, then book at a lower rate with better service directly with the resort and cut out the middle 'let me place you on hold' Cheap Caribbean. I now judge myself expecting CHEAP to mean AFFORDABLE. What it really means is they do not have support staff to facilitate a smooth experience, what you get is treated like you have nothing better to do than stay on hold with a call service in the Philippines....YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR....CHEAP, CHEAP, CHEAP, LOW QUALITY EXPERIENCE!

We were promised a refund for all 8 rooms but they say it could take 90 days to process. What an absolute joke. Three hour wait times. Different answers each person you spoke with. The property was NOT what the photos and descriptions showed. We only endured two nights because we arrived on a Saturday and the front desk manager threatened we would not get any $$$ back if we didn't speak with Cheap Caribbean. Then the woman I spoke with said "we will have to contact the hotel" as vacation time is ticking away.

We left on the advice of a different agent who could not get us into a property they actually represented on their website. We got a much better rate directly and they were by no means full. Night & Day difference. After several hours of calls, 5 families and 8 rooms, we were all promised a refund for the 5 unused nights. By several different agents. They said in a couple of weeks. That was a month ago. We all are currently disputing with our credit card companies. Some have resolved and won. Just book with the property and airlines direct. Save yourself a nightmare. What an absolute joke to spend our entire vacation time on the phone. Oh and by the way. Some hold times were three hours long to even get an agent. That is if they didn't drop your call first.

DO NOT BOOK A TRIP WITH THIS COMPANY!! YOU WILL REGRET IT!!! Here is my experience with the most unethical vacation booking company on the internet! My girlfriend and I booked our first trip with Cheap Caribbean on Jan 11th. After her work made the announcement that she could not leave the country until further notice (Jan 12th she works in Healthcare) I contacted Cheap Caribbean. They didn't respond to my initial email until 7 days later (after I sent a follow up email). Then I called two days after the email was sent the hold time was 140 minutes when I called. Then the operator says you can hold your place in line and they will call you back when it's your turn (not true).

After 7 days of waiting for an email response it was an automated email saying, "We can't help you, you're going to have to call during normal business hours." So I did, I waited on hold for 2.5 hours for some young lady who accidentally hung up on me after I asked for our reservation to be refunded. Then since it was closing time I decided to take matters into my own hands. I called the airline and canceled our flight and received a voucher, then went and called the hotel who wanted to help me but since Cheap Caribbean has an agreement with the resort they couldn't offer a full refund. The Representative stated only Cheap Caribbean could do that.

So on the following Monday I called Cheap Caribbean waited on hold for another 2 hours (no joke) talked to a Representative who argued with me saying I should have never gotten a flight credit and since I did he would offer me a voucher for our hotel and transportation good at Cheap Caribbean anytime until Dec. 15th. I had to accept this voucher or nothing since he stated this was my only option which I did. Then I tried booking a new domestic flight with my flight voucher and found out Cheap Caribbean took back their money and canceled our flight voucher. I called Cheap Caribbean back and discussed this with the Representative who said he didn't why that happened and that he would transfer me to a manager.

I was transferred to a Manager named Casey who said a voucher should have never been issued and that our reservation was completely canceled with no refund allowed. So there goes $1,900! I also left multiple voicemails with Melanie who is their BBB contact. DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY! They are unethical and don't care about the customers they serve!

I booked a trip to Punta Cana for May 2020 and had to cancelled due to COVID. I did purchase insurance and requested a refund but instead, Cheap Caribbean said they gave me a "a travel" credit. I am unable to reach support at Cheap Caribbean to identify when the "travel credit" is valid through. On hold for hours to no avail and no one has responded to my emails via the Contact Customer Support. Triggered another email to Customer Support today. Hoping someone from Cheap Caribbean Customer Support reaches out to me. I am ready to pass this to my attorney to resolve. I don't feel like Cheap Caribbean is trying to resolve this with me, as they are not responding to my inquiries to Customer Support.

I booked a trip back on September 26, 2019 for a trip for April 12th - April 17th. Due to an illness and Covid I had to cancel my trip which I did with Cheap Caribbean in March 2020. I was told I would receive a credit to use until the end of December 2020. I called Jet Blue to use my credit on December 4 (to see family) and was told that Cheap Caribbean transferred my tickets to another family. It was done without my knowledge and my tickets were still valid (not expired like they claimed).

First they told me they expired July 26th (which was not even a full year from when I purchased my tickets) then they took that back and said they expired in September. When I called Jet Blue the rep told me they issue a credit a YEAR from the date the tickets were canceled which was March 2020 so they would have been valid and mine to use until March 2021. Cheap Caribbean refuse to take any responsibility for this illegal transfer of my tickets and for ruining a family vacation with a credit I could not use in December b/c they purged my tickets. I do not trust this company and I want a REFUND b/c they cannot guarantee me this will not happen again in the future with a "credit".

Oh where to start. I have never in my time of travel ever had such a HORRIBLE experience with a company such as Cheap Caribbean. It started the day they cancelled my first trip. When I rebooked the whole NIGHTMARE began. Not only did they mess up the reservations and flights, I could never get through to anyone on the phone. You would have to hold for HOURS!!! And when you finally reach someone they can't help you, then you are passed on to someone else to hold for more hours.

I got to my hotel after traveling for hours in a darn mask to find that they dropped the ball again, they only send over part of my reservation to the hotel so my daughter did not have a room!!!! (This was for my daughter's graduation gift and they messed it up again.) And of course we could not get through to anyone, so I had to pay again so my daughter could have a place to sleep for the night. The front desk tried over and over and so did I to contact you by phone and email. I held for a hour at the front desk and no one should pay that kind of money for a vacation and then have to spend it in the lobby instead of by the pool.

I had to pay for another night and by the time THEY got back to the hotel it was 10:00 at night before my daughter was in her ocean view room so she missed two night in a awesome room.. They have never made things right with me since they cancelled my first trip. They told me they would give us a free night when we booked again, they did not honor that. Cheap Caribbean still has not contacted me since this happened on Dec 11th 2020! Sadly I will never use this company or the 11 people that came with me.

After my conversation today, a cheap Caribbean employee suggested I take legal action. No one at this company seems to have any idea of how to handle a refund and no one can be reached to initiate the refund. I have been told multiple times my case has been “escalated.” Makes me wonder how legit this company is based on the conversations I have had. Very disappointed.

Updated on 12/28/2020: I wrote a review about this AWFUL agency a couple of weeks ago complaining about the way they handled my accommodations of wanting to cancel and how the hidden fees and wording are very misleading. The company wrote back and called me to try and sort out the problem to make it better. I spoke to a representative that spoke broken English for 20 minutes about my options if I were to cancel my trip, which was no different than the awful options I had before. I told her, "I have no other option but to go on the trip because your cancelation policy is horrendous." 5 minutes later I see an email come through that says "Your Trip Has Been Canceled"!?

WHAT?!? I DID NOT CANCEL MY TRIP! Then I get another email saying that I would be refunded in CREDITS $400 LESS than my original cost. I paid $2382 for my trip and they are trying to refund me in CREDITS $1982 for a trip I DID NOT CANCEL! Someone needs to SHUT THIS COMPANY DOWN ASAP!!! I'm going to take this as far as I have to go to get this company what it deserves. NEVER AND I MEAN NEVERRRR USE THIS COMPANY FOR ANYTHING!

Original Review: CheapCaribbean has to be the worst travel agency I've ever encountered. First, I was dealing with a customer service rep that was overall helpful in finding a low price for me for my travel from 12/30/2020 - 1/4/2021. As soon as he gave me the final price I let him know that I would need to discuss it before moving forward and he hung up. Not sure if they see a commission on this and he got upset that I "wasted" his time but I did ask if there was a direct line I could call him back on just in case.

Second, I checked out the cancellation policy which said "cancel up to 12/30/2020" to avoid any penalties but then when I called the next day they said there would be a $200 CheapCarribbean cancelation fee and I would only receive credits back. Not to mention, the rep I was dealing with that could barely speak English was extremely rude and unprofessional.

Needless to say, I'm stuck going on this trip but I'll NEVER use CheapCarribean again and HIGHLY advise no one to ever use this service. I found better deals on Priceline and Expedia but not until after. I'll blame myself for not doing enough research on my side but that's why I use services like this, to avoid having to book everything separately with hidden costs and policies. DO NOT USE THIS WEBSITE!

CheapCaribbean is by far the worst travel agency I have ever used. This company is completely disorganized, utterly unprofessional, and clearly greedy. I cancelled my trip with this company owned by Apple Leisure Group, in March PRIOR to the flight departing due to COVID-19 (this is when the lockdown first began during the first wave of the virus). CheapCarribean had EIGHT hour hold times to speak to a representative (yes, I actually mean 8 hours - this is not an exaggeration). After months of going back and forth, I was able to finally receive credit from CheapCaribbean for my resort stay but NOT flight. I found this quite funny and ridiculous considering several of my friends received credit (after many arguments with CheapCaribbean).

After having the matter escalated to two supervisors, they still said they could not give credit for the flight and blamed it on Frontier Airlines. They said my other friends received the credit due to an error on their part and they would not be able to honor that same credit for my booking. CheapCaribbean stated that Frontier Airlines could not refund credit since the flight departed. I then asked for a refund of my resort credit. I told them to not even worry about the flight credit since that was on Frontier. They said they could not refund the money and it would have to be kept as credit with CheapCaribbean. So, now I would have to end up spending even MORE money to book a trip since I only have resort credit but not flight credit.

I have spoken to at least 10 different individuals from the CheapCaribbean company and spent a total of 30+ hours waiting on the phone or speaking with someone from March - now (December). This is absolutely ridiculous and gives an utter taste of disgust in my mouth. I will NEVER use CheapCaribbean again nor will I ever recommend this waste of a company to anyone. I will not support any of the entities owned by Apple Leisure Group after this horrific experience. Apple Leisure Group's company, CheapCarribean should be dumped in a hole. I hope this company goes bankrupt before they can ruin anyone else's vacations or wallets. 0/10 company. Do yourself a favor and never use them.

It is next to impossible to talk to anyone on the phone, you will wait on hold for hours, there is no way to contact them unless you call them. They cancelled my entire trip and would not give me a refund. After sitting on hold for hours and hours, I was finally able to re-book. I paid extra for a nonstop flight and they email me and tell me they changed my flight to a layover, and there is no way to contact them unless you want to sit on hold for literally multiple hours.

I suspect that they purposely try to give you the worst support available just so you will not call and just give up. Part of their business model seems to be to provide a terrible customer experience because I cannot think of any other way that a company could be so bad at customer experience. Please, do not ever use this website, they are not even cheaper than other sites and the entire experience has been hands down the worst I've ever had with any company I have ever dealt with in my life.

Cheap Caribbean/Royalton. Unsatisfied with the outcome of my stay. When I arrived at the airport I was not allowed on the plane, due to the travel authorization not being emailed, so my trip was pushed back 24 hours. Upon arriving in Jamaica, everyone seemed to know the situation & assured us everything would be taken care of to do what was a called a “date switch” so We didn’t lose a night that was paid for. When I checked into the hotel, to a downgraded room than the one I paid for, Kemesha, the hotel manager suggested that I reach out to my travel company & have them send over the approval to accommodate the extra night. I immediately sent an email to Cheap Caribbean. Denise ** was the agent who answered me & assured us everything would be handled by Thursday to stay another night. I was told an email had been sent to the booking team at The Royalton & once they responded the situation would be fixed.

Every morning I checked the front desk to see if the date had been switched, to which I was told no & spent an hour on the phone having someone call/email the booking team. Each morning I wasted time out of my trip to remind everyone I needed help. Each day I was told not to worry that it was being taken care of. Going on their promise I moved my flight to Friday morning. On Thursday after trying to contact Denise yet again & receiving no answer, I had several people knock on my door asking if I was leaving. I called the booking team myself & spoke to a supervisor who promised she would have everything figured out by check out time which was 12pm.

Because I did not want to be kicked out we headed to the front desk around 11:45am to pay for another night. We were greeted by Kemesha who turned us away from paying, telling us she was taking care of it. Instead of just paying & not stressing on my last day like all the others I took her word & left. Around 4pm I received a text from her saying that I would have to in fact pay for Thursday night & try to get reimbursed from Cheap Caribbean. I think this is completely unfair & unprofessional. I spent my entire vacation worrying about the outcome. For two companies that should be in constant contact with each other for the sake of customer service it took them 5 days to get nowhere. I was also told that because my room was downgraded, we would be receiving a refund for the 4 nights. They had me sign paperwork. It is now October, over a month later & I have heard nothing from either party. This is unacceptable.

I tried rebooking a trip due to my resort not being open, and they charged me change fees for that and made me re instate my trip insurance even though the resort wasn't even open. I then tried to change and upgrade my resort to another resort, same location, just from one RIU to the next (riu has no change fees) and they tried to tell me they were going to then again, cancel my trip insurance.

After I pointed out there aren't change fees with riu so there'd be no reason to USE my trip insurance, they took back what they said. The rep kept going back and forth giving me different prices multiple times. I was on the phone for 2 hours just trying to CHANGE a hotel, because their workers are incompetent. As someone who travels frequently, this is terrible customer service and I don't trust to ever book with this company ever again. Next time I'll stick to Costco travel or Apple vacations (where the workers understand what you're saying) and are more than happy to help. This company just tries to scam you out of money and get you to hang up the call so they dont need to help. I've also exchanged emails back and forth with them, and they don't help. CheapCaribbean is terrible, and they make deceptive statements. I booked a trip last year for Antigua. The travel date was to be in August of this year. However, on July 7, 2020, I received an email that states "Unfortunately, due to the unprecedented events regarding COVID-19, your scheduled flights were impacted with cancellations and your current airline reservation has been canceled. Please note that the air on this booking is being held as a credit for future travel with us".

I responded, asking "why have you unilaterally decided to give a credit?" as opposed to giving me the option for a refund. They responded by saying that "after some time, everything will be fine and you will want to go on a trip again." Unbelievably presumptuous on their part. I wrote back telling them that this was not acceptable and that I wanted my refund. They responded by stating "As of now, airline providing us full air credit for cancelled flight. We are not allow us to refund your tickets."

I therefore called the airline, and they told me that CheapCaribbean was not being truthful, and that the airline's electronic file, to which Cheap Caribbean has access, clearly has a note that says that I am entitled to a refund. She even told me the time the note was made, what the note looks like, etc. She said CheapCaribbean is supposed to refund my money upon request. I emailed Cheapcaribbean about my conversation with the airline. I received no response. I then called them. I was on hold for five hours (yes, five hours) before someone finally picked up. I was transferred to a supervisor.

At that point, Timothy, the supervisor, informed me that not only had the airline cancelled the flights, but so had the resort where we were supposed to stay. He said that I am entitled to a full refund, but that it would take 70-90 days for that to happen. I asked why it would take so long, since refunds usually take 5 days or so from other companies. He said depending on the bank. At that point I just wanted my money back so decided not to argue. At 9:35pm that night (July 7), Timothy from Apple Leisure Group emailed me a confirmation that I would be getting my refund back within 70-90 days "just depending on your bank". Since then, I have followed up several times with them. On September 15th, they emailed that "The refund is still on queue to be processed. I sent a escalation request to the accounting department. If there are any issues with processing the refund, we will be in touch." Well, they were not in touch.

On October 10th, I wrote to them, stating "Good afternoon. You sent an "escalation request" on Sept. 15th. It has been more than three weeks since that escalation (over 90 days total) and l have not received my refund. Where is my refund?" On October 12th, they wrote back, "I apologize for the inconvenience. As per the system, your accounting escalation form has been submitted already. We have escalated your concern to our accounting supervisor. Once, they will get the resolution then they will contact you as soon as possible." It is now October 19th. It has been over 100 days, and I have not yet received my money. Every time I call they say that the wait time will be hours. CheapCaribbean.com is a joke and they are playing games with other people's money. I've decided to take other action.

On July 14, 2020 I had received a notification via email from the travel provider (Cheap Caribbean) stating that my trip has been cancelled. I immediately sent them an online request advising them of my expectation of receiving a full refund. After numerous attempts of trying to contact them with no luck at all, I was forced to file a claim with the travel insurance I had purchased when I purchased the trip.

After a lengthy process the claim was filed and processed, just to find out I was only being refunded 75% of the trip cost. That not being to my satisfaction, seeing the travel provider cancelled the trip and not me. I still then continued to attempt to resolve this issue with Cheap Caribbean. With hours of being on hold and going back and forth and not getting anywhere, I am still missing 25% of the refund for my trip. The service agent said well that's not their fault because I choose to file a claim, the reason I was forced to go through the claim process was because I was not receiving any response back from them directly on my grievance. In a short this has turned out to be the most expensive trip that I have never been on and is completely alarming and a major case of a business taking advantage of the consumer.

We have booked through Cheap Caribbean 5 times and we have been so happy with them every time except this one. I decided to buy my husband a 50th Birthday trip. I booked through Cheap Caribbean as we have done so many times. I booked for Jamaica to an all-inclusive. I gave it to him early, his birthday is in November, so he could ask for the time off. Due to COVID getting into Jamaica is nearly impossible so we decided to transfer to another resort in Mexico. Was able to get a hold of someone only because I called first thing in the morning when they first opened. I lost over $200 on the airfare because it was a cheaper flight so they pocketed that money... But was able to get it transferred. Was told that the reservation would update in a couple weeks....

Here we are three weeks later and the reservation has not updated. I paid in full when I booked it and it shows we still owe 1500.00 because their "accounting department" has to transfer the money to the new reservation. Remember they said it would take two weeks, well not transferred. Today I logged into our American Airlines app and it showed our flights were changed. We were supposed to leave Mexico at 3:15pm on Thursday, November 26th and now they had to move us to leave at 6:04 am on that same day. Oh did, I mention that we added a day to get a better price and OH that was another $350.00 that is paid in full. That is the only amt that our reservation is showing is paid also.

I called first thing this morning and a lady told me that she didn't even show our updated return flights on their end and that I would have to all American Airlines. So, I called American and a very nice lady told me that since we booked through a third party we had to call them and they could make that change. I told the AA lady that the CC lady did not see our return flight change. The AA lady told me that was crazy and that they should see them just like I could see the changes.

I called CC back and was on hold for OVER 2 HOURS, then got Siddharth on the phone who I swear I could barely understand, he wanted to put me on hold to check on things, I begged him to just listen to me and to let me tell him everything. He said he could not see the change either (after I could finally make out what he was saying). He said he was going to put me on a brief minute for two hold and he promised that he would be right back. I was holding for about 30 seconds to only hear the Beep, Beep, Beep sound and when I looked at my phone he had hung up on me. I thought, oh he will call me back, THAT IS A BIG FAT NOOO!.

I was so depleted of energy after fighting this all morning that all I could do was break down and cry! I have sent a message on their website, which I did before and NEVER received word back! I got on their facebook page and sent a message that to my surprise was answered quickly. The person on the other end of that message told me they would pass my message onto a member of the "Team" and that they would get back with me within 24 hours. I am exhausted! I will NEVER use Cheap Carribean again. This great 50th Birthday gift for my husband has gotten so much more expensive and has been difficult from just about the beginning. If you can book through someone else, I recommend doing that. I don't understand why a company we have used several times and that I have recommended to others has gone down the tubes so fast.

I emailed the company desperately only to be told I need to change the dates of my honeymoon (seriously)!!! I have no resolution and I’m 30 days away... do not use this company!!!

CC tried to blame it on the airline the whole time but I got it in writing from them that their policy is refund. Unfortunately CC technically owns my ticket so they can get the refund but they will NOT pass it along to me. I even have to use my airline credit now with them even though they got refunded my money. DO NOT BOOK THIRD PARTY WITH CHEAP LYING CARIBBEAN.

Took our first trip through CC back in 2019 and it was stress free! Booked our second trip in July 2019 (to be taken in March of 2020). Due to COVID we had to cancel this trip. We opted to take a travel credit. In July I booked a trip to the same destination for this November. I have had nothing but problems with CC. The wait time to connect with someone is unacceptable. As of today I have waited over six hours, over three separate phone calls to connect with someone. On two of those occasions, I never was able to reach a person.

My first issue involved CC not requesting a transfer of credit from the airlines, so it appeared that I did not have enough credit for our upcoming trip. At this time I'm trying to cancel a trip and can't seem to get a real person to help me. They are sitting on over $5,000 of our money and have been since July 2019. Due to COVID and US State Dept travel advisories, I want to cancel a trip, but can't seem to get anyone to help me at CC. Now I know what the Cheap stands for...cheap service! I will never book a trip through this company again!

Booked an all-inclusive trip to Mexico. It was canceled due to COVID and the resort not being open to visitors. I bought the recommended Travelers insurance to receive a full refund (less the cost of travelers insurance and a few other fees, so it's like a 75% refund). So I placed the request on July 6th for the refund. It is September 24th. I have yet to receive my refund and I have reached out via emails, the customer portal 'help' requests, facebook, and now I am phone the phone with them and I waited for over two hours for someone to answer. They finally answered and told me they will issue the refund in a week or two. He was nice and helpful but overall waiting this long for a refund is not acceptable.

I know this is a pandemic, but 70+ days to wait for a refund is not professional, especially when I purchased their travelers insurance so it should have been quick and easy to refund. I asked for an email or a direct line or some way to track that this conversation actually happened, but they don't have any way to do that. Not allowing their employees to send emails verifying that we had a conversation is ridiculous and not a great way to track changes or updates to your account. I am very unhappy with how this has been handled. I will never book with CheapCarribean again.

I've been booking trips with my fiancé through Cheap Caribbean for upwards of 5 years now (3 trips in the last 5 years) and I have to say, it's the most stress free way I've ever booked a vacation. 9 times out of 10 their prices are the best and on top of that, being able to book everything in one spot (hotel, room upgrades, airfare, airport transfers, excursions, etc.) just makes everything that much easier. Add on the fact that you can now pay in installments over time is incredible. Everyone wants to travel and that options makes it even more accessible! We've never had a mishap while booking with them (I know sometimes reservations can get lost when not booking directly with the hotel) so our experiences have been nothing but positive. We love doing all-inclusive getaways and the sheer amount of choices they have available is great (and even overwhelming at times!).

NOTE ON TRAVELING DURING COVID-19: Long story short, this was the best vacation ever. Cheap Caribbean is thorough enough to make sure the hotels they promote are doing everything they can to keep guests safe. Constant cleaning, mask use by the staff, and modifications in the dining areas made us feel very comfortable. Our room was even turned down twice/day on some days. In addition, hotels in Mexico can only book up to 35% occupancy so we basically had the hotel to ourselves! Very, very pleasant experience overall.

Avoid CheapCaribbean.com at all costs!! My experience with this company was tiring, stressful, frustrating, and they have permanently lost my business going forward. I booked a 9 night all-inclusive vacation to Aruba for November 2020. I hoped to cancel for a full refund due to the global pandemic, current COVID restrictions which devalue the all-inclusive portion of the trip, current CDC guidelines, and fear of contracting COVID and being forced to quarantine in another country. After calling and being placed on hold for 2 and a half hours, I was told that I'm only entitled to a 75% refund despite purchasing the more expensive travel insurance when I had booked the trip during the first week of March. My travel insurance covers quarantines, but CheapCaribbean does not interpret CDC guidelines stating to avoid nonessential travel to the country as a covered reason for a a full refund. This is entirely unacceptable.

I paid $5,478 for my vacation and another $540 for 'cancel for any reason' travel insurance. With a 75% refund, I will be out $1370 + $540 for a total of $1910. My other option was to reschedule. Unfortunately, I was told I had until September 2021 to take this vacation if I reschedule (and I'd have to pay for travel insurance again which is 25% useless). This option is also unacceptable because if I were to reschedule my trip, I would want to reschedule it for the same week in November in 2021. However, the company was unwilling to work with me. All in all, CheapCaribbean.com is an unethical company showing zero sympathy to its customers impacted by the pandemic. Avoid this company if there is any chance that your travel plans may need changed before you take your vacation.

And when I asked to speak to a supervisor, the representative made me wait more than 20 minutes. Once I finally was given a supervisor, Sophia continuously spoke over me and was not very helpful. In summary, if my airfare was refundable, and my hotel had no record of there even being a reservation, CheapCarribean should have no trouble issuing a refund given this disaster. I, like many, booked my travel before covid was even a thing. We waited, fingers crossed, and were just two days out from departure when we got the email FROM CHEAPCARRIBEAN that our trip was cancelled. We WANTED to go on this trip. We were packed and ready. We did not cancel this trip. It was cancelled for us - the Dominican Republic put a travel ban in place. Given the DRs decision, flights were obviously cancelled. Cancelled flights purchased directly would have been eligible for a full refund. I'm going to assume that CheapCarribean would also be eligible for a refund of my airfare from the airlines if the airlines were unable to fly to their destination.

I called the resort we had "booked" and they had no record of a reservation ever having been made in our names. So no cost to cheapcarribean there. Given zero cost for airfare, and zero cost for accommodations, there should be zero cost to cheapcarribean and therefore a full refund should be afforded to customers who had no choice in the matter. We did not ask for our trip to be cancelled. I don't know where the money goes when you buy trip insurance. But imagine 25% of every vacation going somewhere. There's a huge chunk of money that someone is making off the backs of all us unwitting travelers. A windfall from our troubles.

I call on Nationwide, Cheapcarribean, and any other travel broker and any other travel insurance broker to be honest about what's happening here. You are winning big while the traveling public holds the bill. This should not be a windfall for you. Buck up and be honest entities. I'm in for any class action suit. And you better believe I'll be doing my homework before booking with any travel company again. Sounds like there are a lot of good companies out there. Too bad cheapcarribean and Nationwide are not among them.

Cheap Caribbean will not give us a refund. In November 2019, I booked an all-inclusive trip to the Dominican Republic to attend a destination wedding and celebrate our son and daughter’s birthday. The travel date was March 31st - April 6th, right at the stirrup of the coronavirus. Because of all the fear and confusion, the wedding was called off. I did not want to lose over $800 for an airline cancellation fee, so we did not cancel. On March 16, Cheap Caribbean offered to waive the cancellation fee and give a future travel credit, but because of scheduling difficulties with the upcoming year, our family decided we would be safe and have fun on our trip.

On March 18th, the Dominican Republic prohibited entry from inbound travelers and guests. Also, we were informed that Delta had temporarily discontinued service for March 30th, thus forcing Cheap Caribbean to cancel our reservations and give us a future travel credit. I called to get a refund for the travel credit and was told NO. I filed a claim from the insurance that I had purchased and that was denied. When several refund attempts were denied, I reached out to the bride to find out if they had plans for using their travel credit and was informed that they had gotten full refunds for their travel credit because the travel agent had cancelled on their end. But guess what, no refund for our family, even though Cheap Caribbean received a full refund on my behalf from the airlines. Not Happy! I want a refund.

This is the first time I booked with this company. Unfortunately right before my trip in March a pandemic started, although I had issues before then. My sister and I booked for her birthday. The first issue I had was trying to add my room to hers. We had people decide not to come so it became more convenient for me just to add myself to her room. She called ahead to give permission on the account for me to make changes. I ended up calling about 3 times bc they kept telling me I didn't have authorization to add myself to her room.

Then we had to get another authorization from her husband who paid for her part of the trip with a joint credit card they had.... Yes her name was on it too... although I was paying for the additions myself. That probably took about 9 hrs total.. 3 different calls for me to be added. Then the pandemic happened. Because both of our jobs we are unable to travel until further notice. I called to completely cancel the trip... I waited 3 hours and 15 min for someone to basically tell me they didn't care and if we don't use the credit by January of 2021 we will lose our money. About 3000! Hopefully we can use it before... but either way I will never use this company again. The funny thing is I told my sister that after everything I went through just to be added to her room. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY WITH THEM!!!! Very rude... you'll be on hold forever... and they don't care a pandemic is going on right now.

I just stayed with the Dreams Macao Punta Cana from July 11-16 (2020). There is no question that the this hotel and property is stunning. My husband and I have traveled to Punta Cana 8 times prior to this and we wanted to choose the perfect property to surprise my parents for Christmas. We chose this property because it was a brand new hotel and the only property that is located on Macao Beach. Since we are familiar with Punta Cana we thought we made the right decision. However, we didn’t exactly get the best experience from our stay. I wanted to first mention prior to traveling to Dreams Macao Punta Cana I did reach out to Kelvin ** the Social Media Coordinator regarding this property and what to expect during our stay due to Covid 19. I was advised that everything would be available to the guests, but of course under the safety rules. This was NOT the case. Below is a list of things that put a damper on our stay.

The Air conditioner in the room does not work. Both rooms were completely hot and we were sweating every night. I called to have this fix, but it was not. After speaking with a few other guest and workers we were advised that the property was trying to conserve the Air conditioner. Based on what we were told the Air conditioner was not turned on prior to guest arriving and they were limiting it because they didn’t have many guests staying.

FOOD: While the food was amazing for Lunch and dinner. Breakfast was not. When we ordered something for breakfast it was always wrong. No matter how many times you asked for the same thing it was not ever right. In addition: The first 2 nights we were there we waited over an hour for our food for dinner. Not sure what the wait was for because there were only 50 people checked in. AND at the time we were eating there were only 3 tables of guests including our table. Also, there were only 2 restaurants open each night.

While I understand it wouldn’t make sense to have every restaurant opened due to the amount of guest that were staying.. It was still advised to me prior that everything would be up and running. At a hotel stand point they should have just made a point to have guests make reservations at the restaurant of their choice. Due to this I did not eat at the World Café, EL Patio, and Bordeaux. Room service was not available the first 2 nights. Every time both me and my parents' room would call it was just busy. Totally not okay since there were literally no one staying at the property.

SERVICE: the staff there were trying to make the best of it. WE absolutely love ELLIS, VIRGINIA, LAVA, LUIS and JEAN. They are the best. I can’t really say the same for the guy that tries to sell the wine (I never got his name). He is so annoying. He really just does not take NO for an answer. This resort really needs to understand that this is an all-inclusive resort and if WE DON’T want to buy your wine then that is OK. You really should not be badgering the guests that are there. In fact: we honestly thought we waited over an hour for our food at Portofino restaurant that first night because of him. It was obvious since we seen people come and go and we were still waiting.

BEACH: STUNNING. Although it was beautiful it was never really safe to swim. Each day the red flag was up which means swim at your own risk. Obviously not the property's fault. This was the first time going on the beach in Punta Cana where we weren’t really bothered by locals trying to sell us things all day long. Luis that checks us in and out of the beach would pretty much guard us so no one would bothers us. He would allow them to come up once and then make them leave us alone. This really allowed us to enjoy our view. The only thing I would add is more beach chairs so it's more inviting for other guests and umbrellas. In addition: The beach bar was CLOSED all week. And no servers were ever there to bring us drinks while we were at the beach. You are selling that there is pool and BEACH wait service but that’s a lie.

Entertainment: NOT REALLY. I didn’t enjoy any entertainment any night. The last thing I wanted to add is that the resort is well maintained and they are taking the COVID 19 serious. I felt really safe during our stay. When I come back to Punta Cana I will have to really think if I want to stay with your property again. I really think anyone that stayed with you during this first week needs to be rewarded some sort of refund for not getting the full experience.

Obviously, due to COVID, we opted to cancel the trip 2 days prior. We knew that we could lose 25% of the cost as stated in the insurance but we didn't want to reschedule since we weren't sure when we would be able to go. It took 9 hours to get through to someone (not surprising given the situation at the time) who was very nice and he helped me to cancel the trip. He informed me of the instructions on how to file a claim, which I did the next day, and that was that.

It took them 8 weeks to come back and ask for supporting documentation, which I provided, and have yet to hear a word from them. Since you can't get through by phone, I emailed them (creates a record!) asking when I can expect to receive my refund, and I received an email back saying that they are "reviewing the claim". Having seen everyone else's issues on here I'm wondering we will ever see any of our money back ($2600). Like many, I will never book through CC every again!

I apologize for the length of this review, but please read as you may need to get some of your money back. This is not a bash review. This is fact! These are strange times due to the pandemic and everyone is rescheduling vacations. The process is grueling for everyone involved. We had booked a vacation back in February to Turks and Caicos for travel on April 30th. We, like everyone else, were forced to cancel or reschedule. We tried to reschedule for our original destination but it was more expensive for the later dates. Cheap Caribbean allowed a destination change. So, on March 30th, we changed our trip for Jamaica on June 25th. The airline and departure airport remained the same. There were no penalties. Easy process!

Here is where it gets deceiving! End of May, we got a notice from our resort that they will not be opening up until July 1. All bookings in June will need to be rescheduled with no hotel penalty. We called Cheap Caribbean to once again change our plans. They were unaware of the resort update. We had to direct them to the information. Once they read the resort update we started the date change. We were informed that Delta required a change of ticket penalty of $250/person plus taxes and other various fees. Ok, so we are out $612.14.

My husband and I contacted Delta today as our trip is 2 days away. We were wanting to either get a refund or a possible upgrade on our flight. Delta informed us that the original tickets were FULLY refunded with no penalties. These tickets were purchased third party and couldnt see how much we were charged for the flights. But they did say, no penalties were applied to anyone. Cheap Caribbean told us that because Delta was actually still flying to Jamaica on June 25th, they charged a penalty. Delta says this is incorrect! Delta rep informed us that this has been a problem with a lot of travel agencies. Delta is not charging any penalties for changes due to the pandemic. Cheap Caribbean is making a lot of money blaming any penalty charges on hotel and airlines.

After denial was received, took 6 wks for processing of the claim, contacted Cheap Caribbean for credit. Spent over an hour on hold before a cust serv rep came on the line. After I explained why i was calling she stated that she would reach out to Trip Mate to verify that the claim had been cancelled. I found out later in the 4 hour phone call, after speaking with a supervisor, that was a lie! It was explained to us that since we cancelled our trip we would have to use the same airline, United, as the original booking & if the ticket cost was less than the orig we would lose money. I asked multiple times what all did we need to submit to complete the claim.

First I was told nothing since they "verified" that the claim with Trip Mate had been cancelled, then was told we would need to submit the denial from Trip Mate & it would take 5 days for processing. Called back after 5 days to be told that it could take at least 45 days for the processing to be complete. Spent another 2 hours on the phone. Tried to explain that we had already picked dates in August 2020 to travel. Asked if the claim could be expedited & was told no. Thankfully I reached out to reservations & was able to get the claim processed. Received the confirmation email regarding the credits that could be used. Called Cheap Caribbean to rebook the trip. Was on hold for an hour & the call was disconnected, called back & was on hold for almost 2 hours before I was able to speak with Natalie. All that she was interested in doing to reading from the script.

Since the airfare is cheaper now, we asked to upgrade our seats so we would not lose the credits. That was denied since we cancelled the trip. We lost over $500 on the airfare alone. Asked to speak with supervisor. After being on hold for over 30 minutes, Monica came on the line. She stated that she reached out to United so we could use a different airline & the request was denied. To shorten this story, I spent over 4 hours on the phone with the incompetent customer service reps to rebook our trip. I WILL NEVER USE CHEAP CARIBBEAN AGAIN. Their customer service is a joke & all they care about is taking your money. The only reason why I used them to rebook was due to the credit. Do not use this Company nor buy travel insurance with Travel Mate. Neither company care about their customers!!! If I could give a rating of 1/2 star I would.

Booked a trip through Cheap Caribbean for my cousins destination wedding to be held March 26th in Punta Cana at the end of February. We booked through CB before to Punta Cana in 2017 and decided to use them again, which will never happen again and hope they don't survive this pandemic after showing us their true colors and immoral response. Anyway we knew terms and conditions upon booking where we the buyer would be up the creek without a paddle if we cancelled or missed our trip and no refund, understood.

However when Covid happened DR closed their borders a few days before the wedding ultimately meaning CB would be the ones to cancel the trip which no stipulations were never stated in the terms and conditions if they cancelled on the consumer (as I guess they never thought they see the day they'd cancel on consumers) as we were still planning on going until we realized the borders and resorts were closing. In order for CB to cover their tail around March 19th or so they revised their website terms and conditions overnight in order to state that they would not be entitled to issue any refunds upon any circumstances, 75% if insured. So I became furious after realizing what they had done, spent hours trying to reach Customer Service in which finally I did and they shrugged their shoulders and said no refund even after pointing out that they were unethical to revise their terms in order to keep our money.

They said they would only issue a travel credit for a wedding that has been postponed until next year more than likely out the 1 year window, we needed our money back for essential items during the crisis which they did not care and did not have their crystal ball handy to tell me on what date Covid 19 would just disappear within the 1 year time frame and we go back to happy and safe travels. When asked "well how are you going to just tell us travel within the next year and nobody knows how long this will last?!"...not much of a response as they don't.

There is currently a class action suit against most of airlines for doing the same thing as not delivering and keeping consumers money even after getting bailed out by the government and I really hope CB in next. Also CB should know how a company treats their consumers during a crisis such as Covid will speak volumes and if that company still stands when the dust settles. I pray CB put our money they stole towards a rainy day as I don't see them surviving, nor should they as unethical practice of business shall never be taken lightly.

We were able to take a vacation. Not one we expected to take due to all the crazy Covid mandates, variations, mandate, vax requirements and changes…. One never knew what to expect. There was no issues with the trip or the reservations were fine and no hiccups! Thank you CCV for following through.

My husband and I purchased all inclusive tickets for a hotel and excursion for a week in Punta Cana, my son's wedding week. Covid hit and naturally we called and they told us via recording to wait 72 hours before the trip to cancel. I waited a couple weeks and sent an email and they responded stating they could not do it via email and would have to speak to us. So I called and spoke with a lady "Sam". She was seriously put out dealing with me. She stated at that time they were not authorized to give anyone refunds but she would give me a voucher. I told her that my son's wedding wasn't taking place and I wanted a refund. She kept me on hold on and off for approximately 45 minutes. At one point she stated it wouldn't have mattered whether I had insurance or not. She stated she was canceling my reservations and she would mail me a voucher. I told her she could send me a full refund. She finally just got off the phone.

I sent several other emails, to no avail, receiving responses that I needed to have insurance. Finally, I went to the Better Business Bureau for assistance. I am at a stand still as they refuse to refund our money. In the meantime, no one who had insurance received their money, they never figured out what they can or can't offer and we have one month to use the voucher and I lost my job over Covid and who can drop everything and just take a vacation? Not to mention the wedding isn't happening there.... it is already over!! I have used them for all my travel but after this, I see how they treat long time customers and will NEVER use them again. They were horrible!!

During the 2020 Pandemic our vacation was of course cancelled. Rebooking was the issue. They don't tell you Airlines are REQUIRED to refund you but you have to know that. To rebook you must call and wait. (Total of 3 hours 12 min) for me. She first informs me "no flights with your carrier". I didn't accept that so on hold again 1.5 hours. Then they tell me I can only book with the original carrier, even though they only have a single flight each day at terrible times and they were now the most expensive! They did end up making the cost comparable so what else could I do but accept. Then I learn that they could have refunded me and I could have booked the flights I wanted. NOT HAPPY! Going forward I will use a Travel Agent.

In requesting a refund for this vacation I was denied. I was told that because I did not purchase insurance, which would have only given me back 75%, that I was pretty much screwed. I do not want a travel credit because as you know financially many of us are struggling right now. I am a senior citizen and I need my funds to survive. Work hours have been reduced for myself as well as my husband. This is not acceptable. Needless to say, I will not be using Cheap Caribbean anymore and I recommend no one else does without doing their research. It is not okay to take advantage of consumers like this, especially in the middle of a global pandemic. Very sad!

After 17 hours and only 4 phone calls (and I'm not exaggerating). I will never contact CheapCaribbean again. A Class Action Law Suit should be filed against them. Their terms and conditions at the time of our booking for 26 individuals stated if we cancel or make changes we will be subject to fees and only a credit voucher will be given. We didn't cancel our trip, the airlines and CheapCaribbean canceled, and the airlines refunded them.

I would not have dreamed if CheapCaribbean canceled we would not be refunded. In fact, Sun Country shut down all flight south of Dallas through June, 2020 because they were given permission from the Department of Transportation. At the time of booking, our hotel had a 7 day prior to arrival cancel policy, and then we had reserved 3 vans for transportation to and from the hotel to the airport. We attempted to rebook as a group, but they can't get all 26 people on flights at the same time or even around the same time during an appropriate time frame. Plus, to book at the same hotel, same room and a flight was a $150 more a person. We were told we would just have to use our credits separately. We have 8 senior boys who's last year of school was taken away from them, and they now can't go on a trip together with their families.

When asking about the credit for the vans, we were told we would have to work it out on our own. Since we will not be going as a group we don't need the 3 vans or the credit for 3 vans. DO NOT USE THEM!!! They have basically ripped us off for about $22,000.00. Some of the parents are laid off, money is tight, and when we go back to work many of us are going to have a hard time taking a vacation within the time frame of the voucher. I am disgusted by them. You can only speak to a customer service rep, you can't ever speak to a manager. Even e-mailing them, they respond with you must call their 1-800 #. Stay far, far, far away.

I agree with the recent negative reviews regarding Covid issues. Like others, I completely understand our trip was cancelled (flight was cancelled first). However, by law we are not required to take a credit or file a trip-insurance claim - that is a lie, at least in the US. The US DOT has mandated a refund in cases where a flight is cancelled. I paid you for something that you could not deliver, now I want my money back in full. I have used them many times in the past but never again. I also understand that your company is probably experiencing many financial troubles but so are the people that have booked vacations far in advance of Covid issues.

And have a 400 CC credit until late 2021 and a 2200 Delta credit until 2022. I am fine with this since I didn’t have trip insurance. Also, if I were to upset with a company it would be delta. These are the times when you don’t take advantage of people. Just sick. We got the run around, the very moody and mean customer service people (which should be happy they have a job). They would not let us cancel and only willing to give a voucher That would only last a few months. Sorry we can’t just get up and vacation any day we want with an expiration Date of a few months away. Also, how would you know it’s safe to travel at this time and IF it is, will people be ready for that? I know you don’t care about the people, your customers, but seriously just try to be good people, it’s really not that hard... times like these, people are either coming together or being the broken link to the entire world... that’s you.

There are people out there saving lives, maybe even yours one day, people unable to be with their family, people dying, suffering, unable to put food on the table and this company, no heart in a desperate time. If you have a voucher with NO expiration Date (an exception because of the hard times) you’d still have customers, you’d still have our business, you’d have a heart... maybe you wouldn’t have a 1 or 2 star rating... maybe you’d even have a 5 star but as a company that could do the right thing, you are choosing to be the little bit of bad in the world.

Lucky for you, you made a little money off of ALL of your clients...but how many customers do you think you’ll keep now? It doesn’t look like I’m the only one that gave you a bad rating, I think everyone has lately. It’s too bad because you could choose to be a good business or you could choose to be a heartless business. Had you just offered a voucher that did not have a expiration date. You do not deserve anyone's business.

They completely fixed this issue and refunded the trip in whole.

We had a trip planned in May, we purchased premium insurance "cancel for anything". Of course, when the Coronavirus situation escalated, we cancelled the trip. Now we're being told that we will only be receiving 75% back. This is outrageous. To receive 100%, we could have Doctor's documentation that we're too sick to go, but when you're trying to help stop the spread you only receive 75%. These insurance companies need help liable for this. This is outrageous- Do the right thing. 100% refund less the insurance cost is the only option.

Due to the pandemic, the resort won’t be open at the time of the trip and the airline also canceled my flights. I see a post showing that Cheap Caribbean provides FULL future credit to all customers who were scheduled to travel to a destination that has a travel ban or restrictions in place for the US. How come CheapCaribbean is only giving me $2551.40 back as future credit instead of my full amount of $3805.70 which seems beyond unethical since you got a refund from the resort and airline. Where is my $1254.30 difference credit go?

I strongly recommend you that please look into the future credit amount that you received from Caribbean.com. Of course they will not email you, here are the steps you can check by yourself: 1) Go to their website. 2) Sign in (You can find it all the way at the bottom). 3) Enter your e-mail address and booking ID or reservation #. 4) Click “Search”. 5) Click on “Resend travel docs” in blue color. 6) Please check your e-mail 7) Look into the “Total Cost amount” that they issued to your account!! This is being completely unethical!!

Please if you are considering booking a well deserved vacation DO NOT BOOK WITH CHEAPCARIBBEAN. I booked a package on March 9th for Barcelo Riviera Maya, Mexico. Considering the unforeseen virus known as COVID-19, we no longer felt comfortable traveling and risking our health and risking other loved ones health. We did not include insurance with our package. While reading Cheapcarribean's polices we realized that we could only receive future credit. Keep in mind there is a travel ban issued and we legally can not travel to said destination.

Cheapcarribean should be ashamed as a company, they are profiting from this pandemic and should have consequences for taking advantage of consumers. I have also read other consumers will only be refunded 75% of their purchase with insurance cheapcaribbean provided. That is absurd, cancellations policies should be revised and should be altered. I recommend to future consumers to take their business elsewhere and hopefully no one else is a victim this unethical travel website.

Same as the others. Cheap Caribbean sent me an email advising that they cancelled my trip. Airlines and hotel have refunded my funds, but cheap Caribbean is keeping the money because I purchased insurance and can file a claim to receive 75% of my money back. I will never book through a company like this again. I’m not sure why this company believes they deserve $5000, but We should not support companies that treat people like this.
