I had an issue with a slow tire leak which turned out to be a bad stem valve. Ricky was very courteous. He said it would take about 30 minutes, offered tv coffee, and water. It was done sooner than expected time.

On Saturday, Sept. 7 I left my GMC Sierra at your store in Falmouth, Massachusetts for a new tire. I have always purchased tires there. Since my wife and I were leaving Monday for a camping trip, I unlocked the truck bed door to get our fishing equipment ready. That is when I found out three rods and reels worth $1200 were gone. Three St. Croix rods and three Shimano reels. I did not consider taking valuables from my truck because never did I imagine a worker robbing from a customer at Town Fair Tire for obvious reasons. It sickened me for two reasons: the money and how low an employee would go to do that. Please respond, sir. I am 68 and retired. I give Town Fair 200 bucks for a tire and some lowlife it hired steals out of a customer's vehicle.

Bought Michelin tires here after a lot of research. They were pricey but I felt important enough for the extra money. Tires needed air weekly. Finally got an appointment and each one needed to be resealed. Ok. Someone messed up. A few days later, same thing. Tires aren’t holding air -again. Now they replace the sensors in all four tires. A few weeks later, same thing! They told me now they found a nail in one tire but the other three just needed air. In the meantime, once a week I've been stopping in to have them add air so the light goes off.
Today again I am back with another appointment. Been waiting for my SCHEDULED appointment for 90 minutes and my car is still in the parking lot. Hasn’t even been brought into a bay. Poor service. I understand that everyone is busy. I made an appointment so I didn’t have wait hours. Again, poor customer service and I don’t have much faith in anyone here having a clue what’s wrong with my $1,000 + tires. Vent over!

Branford, CT location: LONG wait times, somewhat rude at times. Bought tires through a commercial account ($900). Properly maintained my tires, air, rotating and regularly checked alignment. Unfortunately, I did get a bad flat on the highway about a year and a half after the purchase. Not repairable, I tried to find out what the policy was as far as warranty, but this shop was unwilling to work with me. I unfortunately did not have the receipt on me, but I provided purchase information, name, date, and amount of purchase. They claim nothing was showing up in their computer and could not answer me if the tire was covered or not, rushing me through with a long line forming behind me at the counter.
Nonetheless, I had no choice but to pay for a replacement tire, ($225) since no information was available to me on any type of warranty. I can only speak for myself, but clearly customers at the shop were miserable, having to deal with long wait time and inconsistencies. One customer was livid as they did repairs to the wrong tire on her car! To top it all off, after I left them, got home to retrieve something from the trunk of the car and saw that they had not properly replaced the spare that my car came in on. They just plopped it in the back of the car. I had to return for them to return the spare to its properly secured position. It was tough having to deal with a busted tire on the highway, and they unfortunately didn't make it any easier. Please save all receipts, ask questions, make sure your purchase and conditions/benefits/restrictions/warranties are clear.

Tires are reasonable, Front desk very helpful and professional. The wait time is way too long. Over 3 hours to install 2 tires and I had an appointment. They did apologize for the long wait. Nico was very helpful and respectful. As soon as I walked in he stated, "I will be right with you." As he finished with the other customer I was helped. I would recommend Town Fair Tire. I Have to say that my appointment was at 9:00 am and my car was taken in at 10:45. It was completed nearly at noon. They may need to hire more tire technicians.

Purchased tires by going online to get information then spoke to Bill one of the managers. Been going to Town Fair Tire in Warwick RI for many years. Best prices and service always buy road hazard for your tires for peace of mind. It’s worth the extra Pennies. They keep to their schedule and guarantee their tires and workmanship. As I stated Bill one of the managers was so helpful! They're not high pressure because they give you the best deal in the state. Many tire places do not offer road hazard so be aware of this. Rhode Island has lousy roads and are working on them constantly. Leaving debris which ruins your tires.

I recently on September 11, 2023 visited a Town Fair Tire located at 1414 Washington Street, Hanover MA 02339. As I walked in the door as the first customer at 0758 I was greeted by three individuals whom avoided eye contact with myself and off the bat made me feel like I was an inconvenience... so I stood and patiently awaited until the awkward pause was then interrupted by one of the men stating “Hi, do you have an appointment this morning.” I then explained how I just worked down the street since 3 pm the previous day (total of 17 hours) and I did not have an appointment. I was exhausted and when I went to my car to leave work… one of the tires I had recently purchased would not hold air (purchased two sets of four tires within the last year).
My car barely made it to the store I explained and I have at least an hour drive home. He took my info and stated, “Ya well the tire you have we don’t have here so you gotta be patient and sit and wait until we can slap it on.” I said, “Ok that’s fine... I don’t have anyone to drive me and I need my car so I’ll wait.” I waited in the front of the store seating area and heard the guy state “Not one appointment showed up this morning...” and then more customers without appointments flooded in. Buying four new sets of tires.
Waiting briefly where I was and I believe three other customers left before my car was even brought back to be taken care of. As I sat and waited patiently exhausted it was now almost 10:45 am and I had gotten there at 7:58 am once again after working 17 hours in a critical care patient care environment…. I went to the desk and asked “I am just wondering when my car will be ready since it’s almost 11 am and I have to return to work this evening for 7 pm?” The same man who just came back from walking to McDonald’s and having multiple personal phone conversations that morning stated “Listen, I said you had to wait patiently and I can’t give you a time because you didn’t have an appointment.”
I then bit my tongue and sat back down to wait… I see my car at 11:15 am then be driven to the back of the store and I was just blown away it hadn’t even been touched or looked at for that matter. 1 p.m. rolls around and my name's finally called. I go to the register and the man ringing me out says he can’t fix an item added to my bill since I should only be paying for labor.
I stood there and waited until he could talk to at least two other people to figure it out and then pay the approx 60 something bill at that time…. I left and got home around 3:30pm… as I leave to go to work on 2 hours if that... I start my car… as I am leaving it flags a warning sign I’ve never seen “Stop maintenance required, tire levels dangerously low.” I cautiously drive to the gas station down the street as I pay for air… I realize the new tire valves I just purchased were stolen off my car I just put on which had me fuming at that point. Really. Like $10 dollar Lexus tire valve covers? You're going to steal from someone that you gave service to?
I know it was the store mechanics at the Town Fair Tire because I had purchased them myself that week with some birthday money I received and I like to upgrade little things on my car when possible. I then proceed to add air to each tire…. The tire I had the store switch out was not filled at maintenance level …. Nor was any other tire.
I then get back in my car to see now two tires aren’t holding air and the weather of down pouring rain was scary enough…. I hydroplaned and found myself having to call a tow truck to safely tow my car back home (AAA) then proceeded to have to call out of work for the night on little sleep due to this horrible experience with this store. You literally stole from a nurse who barely sleeps because she is working to help care for the sick elderly? How low can you be to steal literally tire valve caps. Mind you put my safety in jeopardy and not even have a care in the world?! I will be posting this review on every forum because I believe in the public being fully aware of how poorly your company values safety and the well-being of your customers.
The mechanics at Hanover Town Fair Tire should ultimately be ashamed of the horrendous customer service provided and hands down be reprimanded if not fired for not only stealing from a customer in general but not checking the tires' air (all four) and or balancing prior to clearing my car to be “taken care of” to safely drive moving forward.
I have never in my life had such below-the-barrel service in my life nor do I usually have any time to find to complain… given the circumstances I will like I said make note to notify the general public in all sleep deprivation I am at the moment…. Because it is worth the time to tell people to NOT GO TO TOWN FAIR TIRE IF YOU WANT SAFE, RELIABLE TIRE SERVICE. To quote from their website, “For more than 55 years we at Town Fair Tire have been serving the community by offering the safest and longest-wearing tires at the guaranteed lowest prices. We constantly strive to meet our personal goal of delivering top-notch customer service.”
Well, that was most definitely not my experience whatsoever…. I am still beyond blown away and disgusted by this horrible service and company, to say the least. Please reconsider getting tires and even stepping foot into this store if you care about your safety as well as any other person in your life. These people are rude, condescending… and will steal most likely more than just tire valve covers from you. Pretty sad to see this type of treatment for customer service in today's world.

Over 1 hour of my time while the Hyannis manager messed around with my tires on the car telling me what I need. I told him what I wanted....just got ignored. When I told him I wanted the "FREE" front end alignment he said they could only do a 4 Wheel alignment on this car and it's not free. What a run around by a bunch of jokers. I ended up getting 4 tires online shipped to the location I wanted CHEAPER than Town Fair. When I sent a message to Town Fair Tires the VP of the company responded by calling me an internet assassin!!?? Again....DO NOT BUY INTO THE ADS... They LIE!! Don't waste your time or money. There are plenty of HONEST tire services out there that will treat you right for an HONEST PRICE.

I went to have the tires installed and Ethan (GM) refused to honor the confirmed order price offered by admin@townfaire.com. I asked for a refund on the alignment and balance that was never done. Updated on 08/05/2023: Nov of 2022 I sent in a review to your company and we are now in August of 2023. Sad to say, no one has ever contacted me to make an attempt to resolve this issue. I’ve brought back the car, rebalanced, moved the tires around and nothing. Worthless tires. My account is paid in full. Don’t even want to use their services anymore. Town Fair Tire is useless. It’s not about customer service anymore more, it’s about the profit line.
Original Review: This is the second time I’ve purchased tires from the Wallingford shop and on both occasions the tires are not balanced correctly. Two separate vehicles, two totally different sets of tires and both vehicles ended up shaking. My 2019 Elantra just installed new brakes, new tires, new rotors and had to bring it back. And the car still had a shake on the right side. So disgusted.

Town Fair Tire at 67 Newtown Road Danbury Ct is a safety hazard. They are negligent and careless with your vehicle and your safety. They should be shut down before they kill somebody. The first time they failed to find a nail in my tire that was flat when I had the vehicle towed there. Unbelievably they sent me away twice again claiming it was OK. A competitor immediately found the leak and repaired the tire. The second time I should never have gone back. I purchase a new tire at a rip off price. When they claimed I didn’t have road hazard warranty which was a lie. The tire went flat overnight. I took it to a competitor who found Town Fair put in a faulty valve stem. God forbid I’d driven a long distance at a high speed thinking I had a good new tire and my other tires checked. And they forgot to put back the caps as well. Flunked the basics. Don’t let these careless incompetent goons touch your vehicle - they are an accident begging to happen.

Went to this place to get two new tires. During the following month I had a low air pressure sign popped up on my dashboard multiple times. I went back to that place and they fixed it saying the problem was a tire pressure cap and it’s fixed. I have no idea about cars and believed them. A few days later I moved out of state and got the low air pressure sign again while driving on a highway. And AGAIN it was both new tires that have low pressures. AND one of the tires didn’t even have a cap on when I went to put some air in. This is a scam place. They have no idea what they are doing. Go to a trustworthy place where mechanics know what they are doing. I’ll never go back there when back in MA as well as won’t recommend them to anyone. Don’t waste your money and time on them.

I have again purchased a new set of Continental True Contact Tour tires for my 2014 Honda Odyssey at Town Fair, 605 Amherst Street, North Nashua, NH. Again, I am pleased with the staff and service here. I stopped by yesterday to set up an appointment for today. They had the tires waiting for me today, installed them, and had me out the door in an hour. I am pleased with the price and the service. The manager, C.J., along with Chris, Anthony, and Nick are all very fine staff. No hassle.
When I needed new sensors in my wheels a few months ago I discovered that Town Fair installed them. Again, C.J., set up an appointment for me and had the new sensors installed in an hour. They saved me $400.00 compared to what the Honda dealer would have charged, and the dealer didn't have them in stock. Town Fair is my only tire dealer because of their service, prices, how they rotate my tires for free (everyone else charges me $25.00), and try to repair my tires if there is a leak. I had an appointment for 8:30, a donut was on my car with the actual tire in the trunk, with the warranty I came to have them check the flat in the trunk and the slow leak in the front, I sat for TWO HOURS, for what I thought they had "fixed".
After I left no longer than 10 minutes up the highway, MY TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT came BACK on. Took me over an hour to get them back on the phone and then proceeded to tell me they didn't have time for me to come back to see Kevin at the Cranston store, thank goodness I did! The Woonsocket store neglected to see the GIANT nail in my flat tire and neglected to fix the slow leak in the front. Additionally I was asked if I wanted an alignment to which I answered that my tires were wearing evenly and I did not want to pay for an alignment. When I went to pay for my tires I saw that an alignment had been performed and I was to pay $64 dollars for the service. I asked to see the original associate I had talked to but she could not be found and no one knew where she was. I'm guessing this is standard operating procedure for extracting extra revenue because the VIP in Biddeford had done the same thing to me a few years back. Maybe I'll learn finally?
Upon arriving home I looked up the tires that I paid $119 each for and saw that I "could" have bought them at WalMart for $76.96 (not quite the high end tire I was led to believe). Sadly I also paid $18.95/tire for balancing. **. Long story short the tires are "OK" but I just spent $655 dollars for four 77 dollar tires. Guess they saw me coming.

On February 13, 2021 at 9:30 AM I brought my FJ Cruiser into Town Fair Tire in Leominster MA to get 5 new tires installed. The total bill was over $1,100. They told me that I'd need to bring my vehicle back in after 25 miles and then again after 500 miles to have the torque on the lug nuts checked, which I suspect is their way of dodging some negligence suits. But what really made me angry was that they failed to replace the spare tire cover. When I pointed this out to the gentleman at the front desk he called the service manager, Matt, and told him to meet me around the back (where the garage is). I drove around back and waited for Matt for 10 minutes (in 20 degree weather) and he never showed. I drove off and replaced the cover myself, but keep in mind the cover is extremely tight and replacing it is a major effort. I guess that's why they skipped it. I had purchased my tires through Town Fair Tire Center in Merrimack NH. I went in the day before the 2020 Thanksgiving to have them rotated. I thought it was a fairly straightforward mechanical process. I never imagined that there was a possibility that one of my tires might not have been rotated properly and that within 80 miles it would fall off the axle because it was installed incorrectly. When my keys were handed back I was told I should return between 50 and 100 miles to have them check to make sure the lug nuts were secure.
I had only local driving to do through the holiday weekend and planned to return on Monday for the check. On Sunday, I was driving home on a major NH highway, rte 101, traveling at approx 55 mph my rear driver's side tire fell off the axle narrowly missing oncoming traffic with me and my truck grinding to a halt some 200'+ down the highway. I had only driven 80 miles since the rotation. Fortunately no one was injured. Checking with the manager of Town Fair and to no surprise I was told that they reviewed the videos of the mechanic and the rotation was done properly. The truck was towed to my mechanic who is now assessing the total amount of damage. I have started a claim to my insurance agency. I will never use or go to Town Fair Tire ever again. I made an appointment to buy and install tires on my 2004 Oldsmobile Alero. I paid and waited. Everything at this point was picture perfect. The staff was delightful and the wait wasn't that long. I was informed probably about an hour later that my car was ready. I hopped in my car and as I was backing out of the parking space my brake pedal went straight to the floor. The idiot in me I was thinking I just had to Pump It Up, but I knew better. I left a lot of Town Fair Tire and got not that far away and tried to stop and could not. I turned around and went back. I consulted one of the gentleman on duty, he left my sight for a little while and came back, and said something about using a breaker bar to take off my tires. A red flag went up because there is no reason to use a breaker bar to take off my tires.
The gentleman went on to blame my car for the brake lines disintegrating. He stood by the theory that my brake lines for 16 years old. I find it strange that both of my brake lines decided at that moment to disintegrate coincidentally at the same time. They were nice enough to offer me the luxury of parking my car in the parking lot until I made other plans. And that's all they offered me. I did make other plans a day later and had it towed to a mechanic. This mechanic said my brake lines were in good condition and they didn't disintegrate, they were crushed on both sides. The thing that got me about Town Fair Tire is they should have told me that I had no brakes, there is no way that they didn't know that when they took the car out of the garage and parked it. The thing is either they didn't care, or they weren't about to take responsibility.
I contacted the corporate office of Town Fair Tire, they asked for the receipts for everything that I was out, and said they would reimburse me which was nice, except it never happened. I've given them months to do the right thing, they didn't do the right thing on a local level, and they wouldn't do the right thing on a corporate level. And now that I tell people my story, everybody has a bad story about Town Fair Tire. I don't want someone to learn the hard way because I didn't speak up. They didn't even have the best price! They just we're on my way where I was going. That's the only thing they had going for them. My mistake. If you are considering townfairtire please reconsider and choose anywhere else. Just anywhere else.

I have been dealing with Town Fair Tire in Littleton, NH. It's about 1 hour drive. Back in March, I had been calling around different garages to purchase a set of wheels and tires for my jeep that was still in storage until April. I called Town Fair Tire to get a quote. I was given a quote but then the gentleman called me back and said he might have quoted me a little high so he gave me a new quote of $1099. When I got my jeep out of storage, I made an appointment to go to the shop and place an order and also stated my boyfriend also wanted the same thing only with 37” tires and 17” wheels. On May 9th, we go to the store, and gave me a quote which came up to $1620. He also gave a quote to my boyfriend for his wheels and tires who originally stated the wheels I ordered did not come in 17”. He was trying to get us to choose another fancy wheel in the store.
As we looked at the tag on my wheels, we told him that the tag says they come in 17”. He says, "Oh," and goes forward with giving a quote. It wasn’t until I pulled out my paper I had noted back in March of a quote for $1099 for the same exact thing for my order. We had to go back to verify the size. Wheels were correct because I needed an 8” wide wheel and he had 7” on the order form. Then we had to verify the bolt pattern size because what he had ordered was incorrect. We spent a total of 4 hours just trying to get the right thing and sizes ordered. On mine, everything seemed okay at first but I noticed my steering wheel shaking quite a bit. A friend of mine who has a garage took a wheel off and was going to see if it was a balancing issue or not.
My friend noticed the actual wheel was not right. As he spun it on his machine, it was moving ¼” back and forth. The wheel itself was not balanced. The center hole was not concentric to the lug bolt circle. I called Town Fair Tire to tell them. I told them I didn’t understand why mine were so off when my boyfriend's wheels were perfect and they are the same brand. They said sometimes that happens on particular sizes made. I was informed they will order another complete set of wheels and have me come in and swap them out. I go to my appointment for the wheel swap. Before they even try putting one on, they call me to the back and tell me these wheels are the same and off balance. So now he’s wanting me to change the brand of wheel.
He finds some and says I'll have to pay an additional $240 for them which were aluminum. I said no way. I'm not paying anymore for wheels and I don't want aluminum. I asked the guy what I currently paid for each wheel so I could shop around for the same price. I was told he cannot tell me how much I paid for each wheel because it was a package deal, however he was able to tell me that I would have to pay an additional $240 for aluminum wheels he wanted me to get. So he obviously knew how much I paid per wheel and just didn’t want to tell me. He says when you find what you want, let him know and they will order them. Being a female, I don’t what all these bolt sizes, offsets, etc. stuff mean. I asked him to give me all the information on my wheel size. He had me searching for a –19 offset wheel when in fact what I needed was a –6 offset.
I started searching myself based on my sales slip. The first set I found, I called him and asked him to order them. He said, "Those are the ones you have now." This is where I discovered that my boyfriend's wheels and my wheels were not the same brand (as I made a point above to them) which it should have been from the start. I believe that they purchased a more expensive brand wheel for my boyfriend and didn’t tell us. I eventually found a set that were the correct size on a website. I called him to tell him about it. So here we are now it's July 6 and I have an appointment to get my new wheels on.
I get a call from him who tells me these wheels are also a little off balance but not as much as the current ones. I have no other choice but to take them or buy my own somewhere else. I take them. Then they tell me my center caps don't fit and hand them to me. I get home, my center caps slipped in like butter. They forgot to put them on and were too damn lazy to do it. This place absolutely sucks. I have sent a complaint letter by email to corporation and yet to get a response. I'm stuck with my front end shaking because these wheels suck.

I waited at the front desk for about 15 minutes while the manager fiddled with some papers and never acknowledged that I was there. Another salesman came outside to look at what I needed and I told him which tires I wanted replaced and asked if they would please put the spare tire back where it belonged under the truck bed. He said yes, ok.
When they brought the truck back outside for me to inspect, the spare tire was thrown in the truck bed. And found it simply states they will repair or replace the damaged tire at no cost to you.
I argued with Doug the sales associate. He first recommended a full 4 wheel alignment of the car, which I didn't see the need for and that the charge to replace the tire was again $40. I said their website is misleading and we could not come to a common understanding. He did reduce the charge to $14 to cover the tax and cost of buying the road hazard again for the new tire. My husband had to speak to the regional manager to schedule an appointment for studded winter tires, and rims. He was quoted a price and was told they would bag and load my existing tires when the work was done.
I picked up the car, and was given my invoice, I paid and left. It was only when I got home I realized that my original tires were not in my car. When the clerk (a cocky kid named Geno) began to tell me I'd need to align both the front and the rear, that it's "always necessary" I told him what the guy from Triple A had said. "No, no... you need to align everything to get it right." So, stupid me pays for the whole shebang (inc. $55 for the rear alignment, front is free with purchase of two tires) with an appt. set for the next day which would take about 1 1/2 hours.
Go down for my appt. not a long wait, they switch the tires, put it up on the alignment rack and from what I could see on the closed circuit TV in the waiting area, only adjusted the front end. They were done in an hour, only spent 15 min. on the alignment wondering if they had attended to the rear. I question the timing and Geno smugly dismisses my concern saying, "Be glad it got done early." Guy comes in with paperwork and Geno proceeds to point out how the front end had to be adjusted but the rear was fine (as I tried to tell him from the get-go) and that "at least now you know there was nothing wrong with the rear alignment"!!
So I was pushed into getting and paying $55 for an alignment I didn't want or request to begin with, and got nothing for it!! Today, I went to a friend's garage to have a wheel bearing done on my Jeep on the same side as the flat I had. Town Fair Tire over torqued one of my lug nuts on my tire and now I can’t use it. I have yet to go to the store to see what they’re going to do about it, but my guess is nothing. I do know that I will NOT be going there again...

Went to Town Fair Tire in South Portland, ME. Paid for 2 new tires, and paid to have existing tires balanced. So we went on vacation, came back a week later, and one of the old tires was flat, went to change it, and the wheel was frozen to the rotor (rotor was old and quite rusty). So, how did they balance the existing wheels if they didn’t take them off, because if they took them off a week ago, it wouldn’t take a sledgehammer to free them now, I’m furious. This is not the end of this, I will be refunded fully for the work they “claimed” they did.

Made appointment with TFT on their website. Was given three choices for tires, ranging from cheap to expensive and I purchased the middle ones. Left the store and everything was fine until I drove on the highway a week or two later. My truck was vibrating between 60-75 MPH. Made another appointment to have them check to see if they were balanced properly and apparently there were. Left the store and truck was still vibrating on the highway but I was unable to get back in to TFT for 3 months.
Finally took my truck back and they said everything was fine AGAIN. My truck has continually had this vibration so I went to my personal mechanic and he checked things out and said ultimately the vibration is caused by the tires themselves. He said they never should have put this type of tire on a truck! He called TFT and they offered 50% off my original purchase price to buy more tire. NOT IN THE BUDGET NOW. Please do research before going to TFT. I will never return to them nor will anyone in my family...

My husband and I went to Town Fair Tire in Hanover, Ma last week to get a new tire. Unfortunately the last time I needed a tire replaced I went to Town Fair Tire and my spare/donut was never put back into my car. Of course we discovered this when we tried to change the flat. We had to leave the car jacked up in a snowbank on the side of the road and bring the flat tire/rim into the store to have a new tire put on. There was a tractor trailer truck backed into the only entrance of the store.
As my husband walked into the store he was hit by flying tire that was aggressively thrown/rolled from the interior of the truck. There was an employee standing inside the store whose job (I assume) was to catch the tire flying out of the back of the truck. He apologized and asked my husband if he was ok. The employee who threw the tire began yelling at my husband that it was his fault he was hit and that he ignored all the warning signs. I went back outside and there was a caution sign on the doors to the back of the truck that was unremarkable enough that we did not see it.
There was no employee watching for unknowing pedestrians coming into the store. The sidewalk was not blocked off in any way. There was no caution tape. The other employees inside the store also blamed my husband for being hit by a flying tire. We were then denied service by the manager of the store. We went to the Town Fair Tire in Plymouth (unfortunately no one else had my tire in stock and we needed it right away).

I wanted Michelin tires but was told they did not have my size but they showed me the best, better and good tires on a tablet with their discounts. The Mastercraft were the best with a price of $147 per tire, but on sale for $117. The initial entire package was over $700, but I was shocked at that price, so they cut it down to $640. I had never heard of the tires but was told they were excellent tires made by Cooper.
When home, I researched these "great" tires. They were selling these at Walmart for $59 with free shipping. THEY WERE MEDIOCRE LOW END TIRES. I went back and they credited my credit card for $240. I still got stuck with a set of low-end mediocre tires. When I initially came to Town Fair Tire in Falmouth, MA, I asked for better tires that came off mine which only lasted 23,000 miles. I ended up with tires that actually had a lower rating. Can you believe it? Please, folks, get an estimate, research it, then go back and have your tires installed. Thank God for the Internet!

Beware of the liars & scammers who work @ TFT Waterbury, CT!! Purchased a set of 4 tires with warranty/65000mi & alignment cost $850… and not even a name brand tire. Tires keep going flat and my car is all over the road unable to control. Called the manager & told I needed to replace the sensors. Purchased the sensors. Waited for them to be shipped. 2 weeks later my car still driving like **, & still losing air. Finally replaced sensors & did nothing. Low pressure lights keep coming on & car unable to control. Finally took the time to bring the car back in & told them something is seriously OFF. They blamed me for the tires being worn saying I needed to have an alignment done every 3 months & that's why my tires are bad. They agreed to change 2 tires at 50% off. After 1 week the tires start with a slow leaking…
Went back again and was told I would be charged $99 per tire for flat repair... I walked out & went to Sears Auto. They fully inspected my vehicle & said my ball joints & tire rods are completely gone... why didn’t TFT notice this when they did the alignment?? Turns out because they never even did the alignment but yet charged me for one stated former employee of TFT who now works @ Sears Auto & to top it off they even put the wrong set of tires on my vehicle. I immediately called TFT & asked to speak with the manager. Questioned why they put the wrong set of tires on my car and charged me for an alignment that they clearly did not do... Got dead silence followed by, “Come in next week and we will take care of you,” line of crap... I will be calling the corporate offices asap Monday morning, as well as New Channel 8 investigates… With all of the consumer complaints against this company, a class action lawsuit should be filed against these thievesters.

I called last Tuesday and asked for an appointment for Friday to do a changeover to put on snow studded tires I purchased here last year and was told there were no appointments this time of year. And when I went in on yesterday Friday at 7:45 am when they opened there were only four people ahead of me. I was advised that the best thing to do was leave it there and they would call me when it was ready. Well that's what I did and went next door to IHOP to have breakfast with my wife. I figured that this would easily be done by noon. So I called at 1:30 and they had not touched it and was told to call later. I called at 3:00 not done; told to call later. I called at 4:00 pm; car still in parking lot and not done. I final called at 4:35 and was told it would be next in line when they get to it. So I told the woman who answered, "No don't touch it as I have already been waiting 9 hours. I will be over to pick it up and I want my $42 back which I pre-paid."
When I got there I found two other customers at the front desk complaining about being in the same situation. We were told that the company policy was to get it done that day. And when we asked when the answer was today up and until 8:30 pm tonight. Also that appointments were taken and had been made for people purchasing tires that were put ahead of me. I also found out that when I was calling the store I wasn't. I really was calling the call center who every time I called asked me for my name, last name, then first when they could not find the vehicle, then make and model and was put on hold for up to five minutes each time because little did I realize they were calling the Auburn store. Never again will I purchase or have tires put on or rotated there. It's back to Tire Warehouse for me and my wife. Recently (3 months ago), I've spent over $1300 on 8 tires (for 2 cars). Well, within a month, one tire was flat - went to the store - it was determined that the air was leaking between the rim and the tire, and the stem valve was leaking too. New England salt was blamed on the first issue, do not remember what was the explanation for the second issue (I thought I paid for the valve reconditioning - there is my bill to prove it). Both issues look to me like a sloppy work.
Four days ago (Nov. 4, 2017), the second car developed an air leak. We went to Town Fair Tire in Avon CT to fix it. They have determined that there was a leak around the rim and through the vent (again, sloppy work in my opinion, but the NE salt was blamed, yet the car is not even 4 years old and it is garaged!). They supposedly fixed it. Before fixing it, they said that there was a nail with a black head, however, they dropped that suspicion. When we got home, I determined that it was not a nail - it was a rubber plug. But, how that can be!? I bought new tires (supposedly). This looks very suspicious to me. The tire lost air over the following 3 days.
On Wednesday (Nov. 8, 2017) we went to fix it again. This time they told us that we need a new tire because this one is leaking on the side and cannot be fixed, so we were told to buy a new one and they offered it for $167. So, I am out of $160.00 because of a low quality work and have experienced plenty of inconvenience. Also, that plug in the "brand new tire", tells me that I should not shop for service in Town Fair Tire anymore (a conversation with the friend convinced me to go to that place again). There was no lower choice than zero stars, so I had to choose 1 star. Be aware (I just found out this business is still not accredited - I guess there is a reason for that)!

Went in for 4 tires on Saturday, 8/12. The person behind the counter was stressing how important it was to have a 4 wheel alignment done when putting new tires on the car. Paid the additional $49 for the 4 wheel alignment. When I picked the car up, I reviewed the alignment results. The rear did not need to be done. The alignment was fine to begin with. The front was needed, however, the front alignment is part of the free services that they provide. $645 was plenty to spend in one day, nevermind an additional $49 for a service that was need necessary.

My son's car had the front left tire come off the axle last week due to a failed ball joint and arm. The front end alignment done the month prior should have been the notification from Town Fair of the problem prior to the total failure of the ball joint and arm. This the third time I've had my tire changed over and each time the damaged to the alloy rims has gotten worse. I let a very little go but this time it was like they took a screwdriver to the center cap and totally scraped, chipped and scratched the ** out of it. When I showed the assistant managers he shrugs his shoulders and said there was "bubbling underneath" and they had to pry off the cap. It wasn't bubbling, it was stress cracks and even if you wanted to say that on one tire (cumulative damage from three changeovers) the other three showed no such "bubbling" and suffered huge damage. The monkey that did the "service" also scratched my driver's door in two places.
I called their corporate headquarters and logged a complaint and sent the guy pictures and to date... nothing. The rims are ruined and will definitely cost me when I try to trade or sell the vehicle. What a mistake dealing with this company. Never again. It's a place to get lots of promises and have them all broken. I got new tires about 6 weeks ago. I was trying to beat the rush and do it when I still had time (I have no free time in November and December). The initial experience was fine. They are happy to sell you tires for $800. The next day I heard a rattling sound. I thought it might had been as a result of the brake job I had the same day as the new tires. Meineke looked at it and told me it was a loose tire weight (used to balance the tires).
So, trip two to Town Fair. It only took about an hour for them to fix it. A couple days later my tire inflation light goes off. I check my air pressure. No two tires were the same. They ranged from 17 to 40 PSI. I adjusted them. Since then, about every four days, I need to inflate one of the tires. So, I need another trip to Town Fair to fix the slow leak. I called them on my first available day off and was told "Don't come in today, we're too busy." I stop by my next opportunity... "It'll be at least two hours." I don't have two hours.
My next opportunity comes about because I get sick and have an unexpected day off. When I drop it off, he says "It'll probably be an hour before we can get to it." "No problem, I'll do a little Christmas shopping." Two hours later I need to get home to bed (I am sick after all). I go back and they haven't moved my car. I sit and wait another half hour - they still haven't moved it. When I complain, they start yelling at me. Saying I must have picked up a nail and that it is my fault. Maybe, maybe not, but at some point when a customer has come back again and again for the same problem, don't you try to treat that customer well and pull out as good an experience as possible? Apparently not if you are Town Fair Tire.

The sales guy (Rick) was sympathetic and said he would take care of me by giving me the tires at his cost. Irritating but no biggie. Rescheduled the appointment a couple days later. When I got to the appointment, of course, no Rick in sight so no discount. When the car was finished I was told that one of the holes that the lugs threaded into was stripped and that it was a common occurrence...REALLY!
Bear in mind that THEY put the tires on the previous year. Now, as I said, that would have been the end of it but, over the past 2 or three years I had brought my second car in on 3 different occasions and all 3 times they managed to break a lug stud. They are not capable of repairing these on sight so now it's another trip to a garage to get it repaired. The first time I will give them credit for at least paying for the repair however, the 2nd and 3rd time I was treated like it was somehow my fault. This last time pushed me over the edge. Found tires I wanted and went looking for good price which was at Town Fair. Made a 9 AM appointment which the service guy said was good, early, in and out efficiently. Took 15 mins in line waiting for a certain person to help me. The other clerks stood around. Told them not to lose my Lexus metal valve caps and the comment was acknowledged. The clerk tried to offer me other tires from what I had ordered. I was told it would take an hour and a half. Seems like a long time, but OK. Went for a stroll to other stores next door and got back 15 mins early. Asked about timing and got a 15-20 mins response. OK. Then after 15-20 min I asked again, "Where is my car?" "Being worked on..." So I asked "How long?" Guess what...15-20 mins.
I asked what was left to do and I was told 2 more tires. How can it take 1:30 to check alignment and do 2 tires then 20 mins more for 2 more? Eventually got done. When I went to check the work, 2 metal valve covers were so loose they would have fallen off immediately, and one was replaced with a plastic cap. Went back inside and there was an amazing level of not caring. After I told the clerk those caps are $8 a piece, he offered me $8 cash. Then I said "and $50 for my time to go to a Lexus dealer." They then found the Lexus metal cap. Then I went back and checked the other wheels and found a center cap was missing. When I went back in screaming, they were indignant but quickly found and tried to hand me the cap. I refused saying they needed to put it on.
The service guy walked to the car directly to where the cap was missing. No looking... didn't ask which tire. Popped it on. When I got home the cap had fallen off. I suspect they broke the cap and that's why they didn't put it back on but I can't say for sure. These caps list for $24 at a Lexus dealer. So I then called the corporate Cust Serv office and got hold of a rep there. After a discussion of the litany of poor service, he offered to send me a Visa card to cover my missing part and my time. That was the only good part of this experience. This was in the Brockton, MA store.

Scratched all 4 rims. Called them the next day and they said to come by and they will take care of me. Meet a different guy at the store and he tells me they will take care of all the damage. I tell him I just want them fixed and he tells me his boss will call me tomorrow. Never get a call and couldn't get a hold of his boss. I finally talk to the boss a month later and he told me my rims were painted so it's not their fault that they scratched all 4 of my rims. The boss told me to call a wheel guy to refinish them and that they will "look a lot nicer than they did when they first came in." Bottom line: my rims weren't scratched when I got there, they were scratched when I left. Just wanted them to own up to their faults and fix my rims. Didn't want to be insulted about my car.

A month ago I called Town Fair Tire in Bangor, Maine to see if they had snow tires for my son's Toyota--they did not. And so I checked the Augusta store closer to me. They said they did not stock them there but could get them up from the warehouse in So Portland the next day. Fine. I set up the exact tires with studding AND a four wheel alignment as an order, prepaid for it all by debit card in the spot, and gave them both cell phone numbers (mine and my son's) to call us if there was any problem--the appointment was set for a few days ahead. On the set date he drove (an hour+) down from Old Town to Augusta Town Fair Tire, got there ahead of time, and they told him they did not have "all the tires in..." he'd have to come back the next day when the fourth tire would arrive. Seriously?! No phone call, nothing. Not even "We're sorry".
He drives back to Old Town. Returns the next day. They take more than 4 hours to mount four snow tires and do the "alignment". They tell him he is set to go, he drives off--they don't give him any paperwork or receipt of any kind. No tire guarantees, nothing. He takes the car for inspection two days later in Bangor, at VIP Auto, and it fails inspection because the alignment is all wrong. They provide a computer printout showing him what is wrong with the alignment, and fixing it costs another $79.95. Car drives very well after this, and he calls me to tell me about the experience. I hit the roof. Where is the paperwork from Town Fair? "They did not give me any."
I call Town Fair Tire in Augusta 12-21-15, talk to an employee and ask for a receipt and work order copy to be mailed to me, and raise the issue of the alignment that wasn't done correctly--he says they cannot email the receipt or work order. Give him my address (which they already have from my charging the order) and he says he'll get it out right away and they'll process a refund from the office for the $49.95 alignment. So almost 2 weeks later, nothing in the mail from them, and no phone call from the office with any questions about the refund request. I am going to the Augusta store tomorrow to speak with a manager (if one exists) in person. Stay tuned. Town Fair if you are listening, you better shape up--this is not the way to gain customer loyalty.

I went to Town Fair Tire to repair a flat from one of my cars but they told me that they could not do it because it was too close to the edge. I just forgot about those tires (too expensive) and went back to my original ones that I had saved in my garage. A month later, I brought my truck for rims and tires. Six months later, a screw got in one of my tires. When I brought it to Town Fair, they came with the same story. "The puncture is too close of the edge and it can not be repaired."
I took it this time to another place and they just fixed it for me without any warnings which means that there was not problems with the tire. Here I was told that what they usually do is to acquire those new tires and repair them from the inside to sell them later and who knows where that money is going to. I don't recommend this place to anybody on earth. (Town Fair Tire on Honeyspot, Stratford, CT.) They have a nice combination. When you come in, the employee ask the "MANAGER", "What can we do with this tire?" and he replies, "We just can give 50% discount on it but the customer has to pay for aligning, etc, etc." And at the end you are paying for the entire price.

I wanted the tires I would purchase at Town Fair Tire to be mounted on my brand new 2015 Jeep Renegade. I arrived at the scheduled time and was welcomed politely. I was asked what type of vehicle I wanted the tires mounted on and stated 2015 Jeep Renegade. The manager looked at his computer screen then asked me what was the name of my vehicle and I said Jeep. He stated the company did not have a listing for a Jeep Renegade and wanted to see what the vehicle looked like.
We walked to my Jeep and he said he had never seen one. I stated that they have been out for a year. He looked in the Jeep and noticed the new rims and stated that the company does not allow them to mount tires on rims not purchased from them. I found that statement very interesting since they would mount the tires on rims that come with a vehicle. I got the tires but couldn't get them mounted because they do not list my vehicle and I already purchased my new rims. I have had other tire companies mount tires and rims for me with no issues. I came for the tire price but could have saved money and time by going back to one of those other companies. I ended up going to a local Jeep dealer that I did not buy the car, tires, or rims from and they seemed very happy to do the work and have my business.

I placed my Michelin tires on order last Friday, and was told they'd be in by Tuesday. My scheduled appointment was for the next Friday morning. When I arrived, it took the sales clerk 45 minutes to tell me that they didn't have my tires. So I asked the clerk why nobody followed up. They had Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday to find out where they were. Additionally, no one called me to tell me my tires hadn't arrived so I wouldn't waste the trip.
Anyway, so the clerk tells me that they found my tires, shipped to the wrong store, and they'll be in by noon, but he'd wanted to wait until 1:00 pm to assure they arrived. He told me he'd call me at 1:00 pm. At 1:40 pm I showed up at the store, without a call from the clerk. Once again I'm told the tires are on their way, it should only be another 30 minutes. When 50 minutes went by I once again approached the clerk and was told the delivery truck was stuck in traffic, and that it should be only another 15 minutes. Guess what... 30 minutes later the truck still hadn't arrived.
Finally around 3:30 the tires finally arrive. They install the tires and perform a 4 wheel alignment, so I didn't get out of there until 5:00 pm. The following Monday I took my car to get its state yearly inspection done and it failed for the front suspension. How did the technician perform a wheel alignment with bad ball joints? I described the problem and told them I was told I needed a plug and to come here to have it taken care of before going home as it would not be safe to drive. The rep looked at the tire, signed me in and said it would take about a half hour or so to take care of. I sat in the waiting area, read, fell asleep, woke up to a new set of patrons around me, waited some more and finally asked about the car. I was told it shouldn't be much longer. Thirty minutes later, I was called and told it was done. I paid my bill and was checked out at 16:21 or 4:21pm. Now my paperwork noted that I was waiting (I had not gone off with a friend, to shop, have coffee, or any other silly time waster).

I will never buy tires from town fair tire again!!! Reasons: They sell you their tires for a reasonable price but then they up charge you for everything else. I bought two tires for $49.00 each and my final bill was $213.40. Free tire replacement was $19.98, computer balancing $27.90, valve stem's $7.90, aliment $49.00, and $4.00 tire disposal fee, plus sales tax for two tires. "Free" is a word they love to use, but nothing is free there! Free tire replacement was $9.99, a tire which is worth getting because when you come back to get a tire repaired for free, they will tell you it will be at least an hour or more even if they're not busy.
If you need a tire patched they will tell you it's too close to the edge and they can't patch it. Which is fine because I had "free tire replacement", but it still cost me $33.20. Why you ask? Because they will charge $9.95 again for free tire replacement, $13.95 for computer balancing, $3.95 valve stem (not necessary nothing wrong with old one), $2.00 disposal fee and they charged me sales tax again because I bought my tires in Leominster and I was at Marlborough store, which didn't make sense to me. Bottom line, it's just cheaper to buy tires that are online and take them to your local garage, where they will mount and balance them without any upcharges or hidden fees. With all the fees that were tacked on and the arguing that occurred, I realized that buying a new patch job for a simple air leak for my tire would have been much easier at my local garage and would have saved me a lot headache, time, and MONEY!

We will start off with I drive a 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 with the 5.9 Cummins. It's pretty damn heavy. I went in on a Friday to get everything put on, took them about an hour which wasn't too bad. So about 6 months later I moved back to Maine and was looking to get a new inspection sticker. I took it in and the guy said "I can't pass this. The tires aren't right for this truck."
I had been unknowingly because I was new to trucks. I was driving a 3/4 ton diesel with half ton tires. They squatted so badly in the front it looked flat with 45 psi in them. So I went back in and showed them their mistake and asked them how someone who does tires for a living can't get something so simple right? The guy then tried to charge me half price for a new set of the correct 10 ply tires. Like it was my fault the retards can't do their job. So finally I flipped out and got new ones for free which I should have.
I now avoid going anywhere near Town Fair Tire. They have no idea what they are doing. They show no pride in their work. Half the time you go in and 6 guys are standing around doing nothing. When I said that I did not want those, I was offered a more expensive model of the brand that I originally requested. Since I did not have time to have them order the tires that I originally requested, I went with the more expensive, "better," model.

Let's just get right into things. The 5 star rating system failed me today, because what I would like to give Town Fair Tire and Traveler's Insurance are 5 raging middle fingers. I had a '97 Nissan Maxima. Good ol' "Maxi-Pads" was by no stretch a showstopper, but she was reliable. Let me also state that I am not a car guy. Hence using ** companies like Town Fair Tire in the first place. You kind of know what you're getting yourself into, but you hope the brand is big enough that they have something to lose...
I knew I needed to do some work on the car, and was doing everything piece by piece to stay economical. At this particular point in time I had just replaced the all the struts on the vehicle the week prior at another shop. Next up was passenger side control arm. As it was beginning to deteriorate, but still "safe" and fully functional. Well, I discovered a slow leak in my 60% tread rear passenger tire, and found a good deal online on the particular tire I needed from TFT. First off, I was given a load of ** about the price I saw online, and was told the markdown from $XYZ down to $XX on the tires was only good if I also purchased a) b) and c) in addition. Should have left here.
After watching the guys supposedly working on my car chain smoking cigarettes out back, I finally asked how long for the tire change, rotation and alignment because I had a schedule to keep up with. Suddenly I hearing swearing in back but I could hear the air wrenches fire up. They finally start. Fast forward a bit and I'm now cashing out. A small charge for something, a charge for an alignment, and a charge for the tire. Everything looks in order. I pay with my card and am on my way. Mildly upset by the service, but everyone seemed to be working about as hard as they look like they would, so nothing shocking... yet.
Fast forward some more. I'm getting off an on-ramp near the CCSU campus later. I'm turning right towards by the Iwa Jima memorial. My car hits a very minor bump, and the car smashes up one of those foot high curbs on the median on my driver's side. Air bag deploys, car smells like its about to catch fire, the car is obviously wrecked. I get out, and confirm. 100% car is totaled. After a close review, investigators are able to determine the car had a sudden change in direction causing it to steer off course in the slightly damp conditions. The driver's side control arm unaffected and still in fair condition. What was this mysterious change in direction?
I think on it the entire following afternoon. After all, I just totaled my car in an accident I couldn't explain. And then it hit me! I reviewed the invoice from TFT again. On the second page of my invoice was a safety warning regarding my control arm. It was advised vocally I look into changing it, sooner than later. My immediate thought is: "How the ** did they do an alignment on the car with the control arm the way it was?" Not being a car guy, this was not my initial thought, nor concern. I went into a tire shop. As unprofessional as they were, they sold me a decent tire, and gave me an alignment. I know this because I paid for it. But then, I started thinking more into it. What if they hadn't? So I called Town Fair Tire. The obvious and sensible thing to do next. I don't disclose anything about the accident to the Middletown rep on the phone. I ask him whether they performed an alignment on my vehicle or not. He tells me yes. 100% they did.
I don't buy it, so I ask to speak with the guy who cashed me out by name. They get him on the line, and he remembers me and my car. The story begins to take shape here. He tells me that I could come in and get an alignment done free of charge as soon as I had the recommended work done on my vehicle. He explains it would be a liability for the company to do an alignment and stamp it's name on a vehicle, that by their standards, was considered unsafe. BY THEIR STANDARDS!?!?! I immediately question why, then, I was charged for an alignment, if it was damn well known I didn't get one. He apologizes and told me they eyed it out for me, making it almost sound like a small favor. However, because of the "potential safety issue," they couldn't plug it into the machine.
Sounds fair right? Except for the part where I pay for the work after its "performed," and leave under the explicit impression that the WORK I PAID FOR, WAS THE WORK I HAD DONE. After speaking with a few professionals I knew on a personal level, I was advised time and time again that a misalignment is 100% what caused me to crash. When they align a front end "by eye" the way they had, the first pot hole or bump you hit, the car goes right back into whatever aligned groove the car was in before. When I hit the bump, the steering wheel must have misaligned by the roughly 3 inches it was previously aligned in going straight forward.
Now that I bore you with that, let me tell you how upper management and TFT's insurance reps handled the situation: I correspond with a guy named ** on the corporate side of things at TFT here in Connecticut. He quickly begins to deflect responsibility, but tells me after speaking with the shop, they would be offering me a refund of the $49 + tax I was charged for the alignment. Explains what was previously explained: that the company simply could not inherit the liability for an unsafe car by performing said alignment. I can understand this stance. The logic behind that from a business standpoint is not the problem here.
I decline to take the miserable refund offer as I actually feel insulted by the gesture. I spent a little bit of time guilt shaming myself. Then, I snap out of it a few weeks down the road and contact them again. I explain to ** that I won't be accepting the $49 + tax refund. His new position was suddenly to get the company's insurer involved. Tells me I could expect correspondence soon. I get said correspondence a week down the road from Traveler's. After taking some basic info and taking some time to review the case, they inform me by phone that I should be getting a letter of denial in the mail soon. How could I be denied? This could not more clearly be their fault. Whether they caused the accident or not, the liability was on Town Fair Tire to at the very least inform me the alignment was never done at checkout.
I call back in a day later and speak with a guy we'll call **. ** tells me that the claim is being denied because his system shows that my insurer, Geico, had already paid the claim out to me when I totaled the car. As this was news to me, I had a lengthy and thorough discussion with Geico, with whom I determined that was 100% not the case. As I would obviously know.
I demand the supervisor of the Hartford Traveler's office contact information, and ** hesitantly complies. I am told the supervisor is out of the office, as it is Good Friday, but good luck to me getting through. I leave the supervisor, whom we'll call ** a voicemail detailing my experience and issues at hand. To my surprise, ** calls me back within the hour. I didn't even question how this was possible. I just accepted it as a feature in a long string of bizarre and unprofessional moves by 2 companies I hope to sue to the ground. ** originally seems like he wants to help to makeup for the careless ** by ** whom he employs. After a couple hours of phone tag we speak again. THIS IS WHERE ** STARTS TO SQUIRM AND FABRICATE EVIDENCE FOR TFT AND TRAVELER'S.
** tells me first that upon reviewing the receipt, there's mention of charge for the alignment. This suggests they gave me one free of charge. I quickly shock him and get him to take back that statement by informing him I was holding a copy of the invoice. I am clearly charged $49+tax. He then proceeds to systematically suggest that there was a clear safety warning on the second page. I acknowledge this, but press him for the section where it is explained why I did not receive an alignment, as charged on the invoice I paid with my Visa. He stumbles on his words and begins to sound less and less educated. Slowly, but surely. He begins to tell me there's no evidence suggesting the alignment wasn't done on the vehicle, contrary to 90% of everything the company had told me now at this point LOL. I was very surprised to hear this was his huge exit strategy. I heard everything I needed to hear.
I informed ** the same way I informed ** and ** that I record all phone conversations on my Android device. His reaction was comically similar to the other two clowns. He freaked out in panic convincing me the recordings could not be used in court even! To the best of my understanding, criminal courts and civil courts are two very different worlds, with very different rules. I hope to have an update for everyone here. If anyone here is ** from Branford, or know how to get in touch with him, please get in touch with me by way of Consumer Affairs. They should have both of our info. It would very much help if a pattern of these bogus alignment charges could be established!!!

I went in for alignment, 2 hours later, I'm still waiting even though I told them if they're busy; I will come back. My sister went there for tires and told me they completely pissed her off. It is clear this place is high pressure, low intelligence, salesmanship over quality and honesty.

I purchased a set of Fuzion Touring tires from Town Fair Tire in Auburn MA about 3 months ago. I didn't purchase road hazard protection and I got a flat tire last week. I contact TFT requesting a replacement tire that I was going to purchase. Well I get home and I'm looking at the replacement tire and it's not the same version UHP tire that I purchased months ago. The tread pattern is different, a noticeable difference when viewing the drivers side. The car looks mismatched. I called TFT today and they informed that they do not carry that specific series (UHP) so they put the next best fit on. My reaction was "if you didn't have an exact match, why didn't you contact me with that information and allow me to make that decision."
My opinion is that they must do this often and people don't check the see what they bought. This is not right. I have researched online and located numerous single replacements that I will purchase and replace the "best fit" tire. More out of pocket cost for me. I'm sure TFT will do nothing to rectify that issue. I will NEVER purchase tires from Town Fair Tire again! Do you think any of the TFT employees are riding around on mismatched tires? I don't think so.

What the hell has happened to the Town Fair in North Haven, CT? I've bought tires for all our cars there for longer than I can remember. Before I left for a trip to Florida, I had my tires checked and rotated fully expecting to need several, if not a whole new set. Picked the car up and was told the tires were fine and that there would be no problem with the drive south. I know that several of the tires were worn and suspect and was a little surprised by that evaluation, but thought I had dodged a bullet on the anticipated expenditure. Brought the SUV to my mechanic who confirmed that they were worn down to the indicator bar and would be dangerous to take on a long drive. These tires were very well-maintained by Town Fair but I still didn't get satisfactory mileage from them.
Brought the vehicle back and this time got a different desk guy who had a little more professionalism. Bought a whole new set for $970.47 and also had the alignment done. SUPPOSEDLY! While waiting, I unfortunately observed several of the garage workers up at the front desk bantering like immature illiterate ** right in front of the customers. I was hoping that there was a more capable individual in the garage area working on my SUV. The job didn't take too long and I was soon on my way. In previous purchases I had learned to gauge the approximate time it takes to switch four tires and properly do an alignment. Were they being efficient workers? Didn't seem so from what I had observed up front. I noticed that the SUV didn't feel quite right but figured the tires needed a little breaking-in time. I was soon on my way and noticed that the vehicle tracks to the right on level roadways.
I rechecked my paperwork, nothing to indicate an alignment had been done except the charge on the invoice. In past purchases, I had always been given a personalized chart indicating the stats on my alignment. No such graphic this time. Also indicated on the invoice: "Attention Customer: We gave you the voluntary tire registration form. You must mail the form for the registration to be valid." Uh, NO you didn't! At this point I am highly suspect that the alignment was done at all. The vehicle doesn't handle properly and I have no documentation on it. And what about this supposed registration form? If these tires wear poorly is that your out, that they were never properly registered? Not a good experience these last two visits. Got the distinct impression that at least three or four of the employees don't give a ** about doing a good job or even trying to keep up any semblance of professionalism.
FYI: The SUV was transported by car carrier and Auto Train so there is not much wear on the tires or theoretical alignment. I didn't drive the 1,300 miles to get here. I am having the alignment checked down here in FL to determine if it was ever even touched. I wouldn't be totally surprised for what I already suspect. I'll be back in CT in April. This should be interesting...

So I walked into Town Fair Tire in Avon CT to get a quote on some tires. I received a printed quote from the sales rep and on the way out he says, "If you see those tires cheaper anywhere, we will match it apples for apples". Needles to say, I found the same tire on Discount tire Direct for $13 a tire cheaper. I go to purchase the tires and ask the sales rep if he can match. He immediately says, "yes sure" and pulls out his calculator, adds all 4 tires (at competitors price) + 20$ shipping per tire + 15$ mounting fee.
Needless to say, it was gonna cost me more $$$ to purchase the tires using their "apples for apples matching program" than what would cost if I purchased without. I asked him, "can you explain 80$ shipping cost if there is no shipping? You have the tire coming from another Town Fair Tire location." Sales rep responds with "We have to charge you shipping because Discount Tire Direct was gonna charge you shipping." I responded with, "You're incorrect because they do not charge for shipping." He then subtracted the shipping cost. I asked him about the mounting 15$ per tire fee that they normally don't charge if you purchase tires from them without have a competitor's price on hand and he says, "That's a fee we have to hire because if you purchase the tires online, you have to go to a shop to get them mounted and they will charge you."
When I walked out of Town Fair Tire that day, I felt like I was being robbed at gun point without them even having a mask on. CONSUMER BEWARE!!!!! Town Fair Tire has fees for their "Apples for Apples match program" that they don't normally charge for. It's more like apples for oranges.

I have had nothing but trouble with all 4 tires that I purchased at the Hyannis Town Fair Tire. I have been back a few times and had them check this tire then that one as they constantly lose air. Twice they have told me that nothing was wrong. The next time, I had a nail in tire and needed a new one. Sad to say but I don't trust them anymore. How do I know if there was a nail or not? Another time, it was a problem with my rim and they could sell me another one. No thanks. Again I don't believe them. I purchased a 12 volt air compressor as I am constantly adding air. Even the new tire I purchased loses air. It's ridiculous. I am a woman and do not know my tires and need new ones but am afraid I will be in the same predicament. Wife brought in our car a week ago to the Plaistow, NH store for the "free" tire changeover to get our snows put on the front of our FWD car. Free always costs us $30. Anyway she drove car home and it sat for 6 days until I drove it on Mon, 12-29. Noticed wheel wobble right away, above 45mph car would shake to the point of being unsafe to drive. Noticed driver's side snow tire had 3 huge weights on it that weren't there with the other tires, passenger side snow had no weights. Stopped by and told them I'd be bringing it in 1st thing Tues 12-30 to have them check the balancing. Tues 12-30, guy behind counter is telling me it's "cupping" and "it'll go away after you drive it some more and the edges wear down". I have them check the wheels anyway.
An hr later I'm told "it's all set". They hand me the keys and no explanation (no charge naturally). I go look at the tires and lo and behold the 3 huge weights on the driver's side tire are gone replaced with 1 small weight and now 1 small weight on the passenger side front tire. Wobble, shimmy and shake TOTALLY GONE. So was this the work of an incompetent tire tech or shady practice to make us buy 2 more snows (as they tried to get my wife to do) and those weights would have disappeared when the other 2 tires were bought? Either way we're done buying tires from Town Fair.

If you call the store the recording says we don't charge for shipping. The tire quote from tire rack was $204.00. Their price match was $255.00 plus mounting and balancing my bill ballooned into $376.48 this means their price match is $51.00 dollars more than the quote They promised to match. I called Town Fair Tire on Nov. 25th to set up an appointment for the following day. I spoke with John, we went over which tires my Honda Pilot would need, he confirmed stock and gave me a price including tax. I asked John if that price included alignment, tax, tires, everything, and that there would be no surprises when my bill came, he assured that his price included everything. I ask John what time I should come in, he set up and appointment for 11:30 am the following day. I asked John if he was certain that time would work, I knew it was going to be the day before Thanksgiving, and that it was suppose to snow that day as well. He said it would be fine and that they would get me right in and out. I arrived the follow day at 11:10 am and waited along with 5 other customers till 11:40 am before there reps. even tried to help any of us. They managed to pickup every phone call that came in (not missing a sales opportunity) but ignored their already existing customers. When they weren't on the phone they would walk away from the customer service desk leaving it empty at times.
They finally started to help us when a few disgruntled customers spoke up (including myself). I finally spoke with John at 11:50 am, he walked me into their store to go over tire selection, I told him I already went over this with him on the phone and that he had confirmed stock already, which he hadn't, and had problems locating the tires he had quoted me, and tried to sell me a higher priced tire. When he did find the tires I was looking for he then informed me my quote was going to be higher based on having all 4 tires balanced and aligned. I asked him why it was higher when I specifically went over this on the phone with him. He said that he thought I was only looking to have them balanced not aligned. Then he ask for payment, which I gave him, then he asked if I could come back at 3 pm. saying that they were very backed up, and that they had some people out that day day. I agreed, but made it clear to him I had many things to do that day and I was so far very disappointed with TFT, but I would be back at 3 pm, I had to get my tires changed. John apologized for the inconvenience and assured me once again that they would get me right in at 3 pm.
I returned at 2:45 pm to wait in line again for 25 minutes, they took my keys had me put a number on my dashboard and ask me to wait in the waiting area. As I waited I noticed there were customers who had come in after me that were getting their cars returned while my car was still sitting in their parking lot. When I went to the desk to complain they said that these customers were there for a different reason than I was, and that they were waiting for a certain bay to clear to service my car. They finally took my car in at 5:40 and returned to me at 6:50. After complaining to them numerous times that I had a 11:30 am appointment and I had somewhere very important to be at 7 pm. It fell on deaf ears, they really didn't give a **!!! I will never ever return to Town Fair Tire, I will recommend to all my friends and family stay away from this outfit. Town Fair Tire, Bangor, ME 10/08/2014 - We switched our summer tires to winter tires. Have rotated our tires at Town Fair, Bangor, about 6 times in last two years. This time my wife took the 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid in for the service. They told her wheels needed alignment (which they had done just a couple months ago). Jeff (employee of TFT) said there would be no charge since the last alignment was so recent. After the alignment was done another TFT guy tells my wife they want $68 for the alignment. She tells them Jeff said it was free of charge -- then this other guy tells my wife she has to pay and gets really nasty about the situation. They get Jeff --- and Jeff settles the matter -- then walks away. The nasty guy is behind the counter -- my wife asks him for the paperwork she had originally given them (showing last rotation, purchase, etc.) and the nasty guy says he isn't giving it back and throws the paperwork under his side of the counter saying, "You don't need it!" My wife is extremely upset, he doesn't care.
Now, for almost a year we have been having a continuing series of long, deep scratches appearing on the front left quarter panel, just ahead of the front wheel at the bottom of the panel. We thought it original to be some vandalism in the neighborhood -- or at work. About every two months a new deep scratch would appear. The day before our last prior wheel rotation at Town Fair my wife touched up all the scratches (not professionally) -- and forgetting to check it when the tires were rotated I drove home -- and my wife discovered a new deep scratch - same place. Then before 10//8/14 (above noted visit) my wife had repainted (spray can) over all the scratches so all scratches were well covered. After the encounter mentioned above she left because of Mr. Nasty - when she got out to the car she checked the LF quarter panel and found a brand new deep scratch.
Bingo -- we finally had evidence of who was doing the damage. Today (10/10/14 two days after the fact) I will go to Town Fair tire and confront all parties about the 10-08 episode and the continuing damage to the LF quarter panel (actually it is part of the entire lower front end/bumper fiberglass unit) but I don't expect them to do anything. We have had one previous bad attitude experience with them and hoped that was the end -- but it seems they thrive on bugging their customers. After my visit today I will never, ever buy anything from Town Fair Tire --- after spending over $1,500 in the last year for summer and winter tires (8 tires total)!

I went to Town Fair Tires (where the tires were purchased) and was told that, because a front end alignment was refused, the tires wore out because the car needed an alignment. Firstly, Town Fair Tire is supposed to perform a free alignment (states that right on the receipt). Secondly, an alignment is gone with the first bump you go over, so don't use that to cover the reason for the tires being worn out after 7000 miles.\
You're a company that prefers to rip people off than admit that the tires were probably retreads. The same tire are back on my car (at a cost for 2 new tires and an alignment that I had to pay for). On or about November 13th, 2013, I had your Biddeford store price match a set of tires for my 2011 Ford F-150. The OE (original equipment) tires were almost done at 35,000 miles. They beat, as advertised, the local Sam's Club on installed price, even including the Internet Service Package. I dropped the truck off before 10:00AM on November 21st to have the tires mounted and balanced. I received a call around 2:00PM informing me the service was complete and the truck was ready to be picked up. I arrived at the store around 3:00PM and asked how far out was the front alignment. The counter guy said they didn't check any alignments and offered to do a full four wheel alignment for a nominal fee.
I produced a screenshot of what the Internet Service Package provided and was greeted by a shocked look, as if they had never heard that a front alignment was included. They had me take a seat and wait while they performed a front alignment. By 4:30PM my truck was pulled around and all the service was complete. At this point you may be wondering why I'm giving you this feedback now, 3+ months later. Well, I'm ashamed to say that until this last warm weekend, I did not wash my truck. So last weekend, as I got to the point of cleaning the tires and rims, I noticed that the left rear rim had a 7 inch radial dent across the spokes of the OE rim, so much so, that the chrome has cracked from the displaced aluminum alloy beneath.
I could not figure how the dent occurred from a road hazard. After some thought and checking with my regular tire shop, I came to the conclusion that the shoe of the tire machine mush have inadvertently been extended onto the rim instead of the sidewall during the dis-mounting of the OE tires causing the damage. I figured it would be a waste of my time to take the truck over to the Biddeford store and discuss my theory, but I did anyway (I have teenagers, so I'm used to punishment). My expectations were not only meet but were exceeded by your manager Steve. He proceeded to insult my intelligence by prattling on about how his 10 years of experience has educated him about all things corrosion and chrome plating failure.
If I wanted to continue to waste my time, I could visit my local Ford dealer and gauge your man Steve's opinion by the 'what planet are you from' look that I would inevitability receive from the service writers and manager. So in summation, I saved $100 or so on the tires, but will be out $250, plus a mount and balance on a used OEM rim off eBay. I suggest that whomever performed the service on invoice ** get a refresher course or your Biddeford store will continue to receive this type of feedback and loss of revenue (at least mine, word of mouth, social media, etc).

Going back today, I was treated like I was stupid and told the manufacturer said new tires should be put on back not the front and that they had rotated the front and the blowout had been because of recent wear... which I told them they were being patronizing, so the only way I would be safe again was to purchase two new tires so I asked them to at least not charge me for installation again... I bought 2 new tires in April. Within 3 months, the tread was gone In the middle of both the tires I bought from them. The other two tires That came on my car from a few years ago were fine. My car wouldn't pass inspection till I bought new ones, again. So I went back to see what Town Fair Tire will do to fix my the problem. Not only were they rude but they wanted me to pay them another $260 for more tires! And they told me that I filled them with too much air and that's why they were ruined. I don't even know how to fill the air!! And no one had touched them. I had already spent 260 bucks I wasn't about to spend any more at that place. I asked to speak with a supervisor and they claimed there wasn't one on duty and wouldn't tell me when they would be back. I will never go back there again. I went to a mom and pop place instead and they were great! And no problems. I wish I read the reviews online before going to Town Fair Tire. Please don't waste your money there. Otherwise you will regret it. Whatever happened to good honest companies? Very few exist these days.

Contacted the Manchester, CT store by phone today to get a set of Michelin tires. Was told by the phone recording that they will match or beat the price from Sams Club. I believe it said they would be 5% lower than any other quote. The gentleman on the phone asked why I wanted Michelins and I told him that was the tire I wanted, not looking for anything else. He suggested I make an appointment and I did for 10:30 AM. Upon arriving, the person I met at the counter said he was the person I spoke with on the phone. He worked on the computer for a bit then explained the deal with front alignment and mounting charges not in Sams club price so Town Fair Tire's price was higher. So they don't really beat the competitions price. They are talking about total price not price per tire and adding other values even if not wanted. He then tried to get me to look at other tires made by Michelin.
I said I already explained to him that I wanted the Michelin Defenders and nothing else. He then told me he had to get them from the warehouse. I feel like it was a bait and switch. He made an appointment with me for 10:30 AM and I specifically said I wanted Michelin Defenders and they were not even in the store. He tried to explain that they were in stock because they were in the warehouse. I left without tires.

On Dec 4th, I paid for 4 new whitewall tires to be installed on my car. I return to pick up my car 2 hours later and NO whitewalls are on it. Jeff apologizes for the mistake and sends the car back to the garage to put them on right. I wait 20 minutes and I assume everything's fine? As I'm driving home, I have a lot of vibration in the steering wheel, so I call Jeff back. He says to bring the car in tomorrow and we will take care of it right away. I ask what time they open.... he says 8. So at 10 o'clock, I went back..... assuming I would be taken care of right away, because that's what I was told the night before. Well, I sat there over an hour and finally asked what's happening?
I was told they JUST took my car in the garage? I asked what happened to "TAKING CARE OF IT RIGHT AWAY?" I'm told there were people ahead of me. YES, I understand that BUT I WAS AHEAD OF THEM by a day! SO, I had to pay for THEIR mistake with an extra trip and "over an HOUR wait" for THEM TO RECTIFY their mistake. I'm assuming, the night before, when they turned my tires around to make the whitewalls face out, they didn't bother to re-balance them...... They just wanted to get me out of there. This was my second purchase of tires in two weeks at Town Fair Tire and MY LAST.

I understand now, how this company put my life at risk. I assumed Town Fair Tires on Lakewood Rd in Waterbury would follow safety requirements and standards in the industry. As a consumer, I became aware of the guidelines issued from Rubber Manufacturer's Association when by chance, the next morning, I took my car in to a trusted mechanic for other work. First, he told me the new (Town Fair Tires) tires, were too fancy for the vehicle... Secondly, he informed me of the above guidelines stating that a woman lost her life due to new tires being replaced on the front that should have been rotated to the back of the car (placing my life at risk). Thirdly, my mechanic told me there was a razor blade in one of my two older tires that I didn't replace.
Why didn't Town Fair tires inspect the older tires when the car was on the tire lift???? Town Fair finished the work in the evening and I had an early appointment the next morning with the mechanic, so it was unlikely I picked up the razor blade in my tire in that time frame. In short, Town Fair Tires put my life at risk, by not properly rotating the tires for safety under tire guidelines, left me with a tire with a razor blade in it - in the back, and sold me fancy replacement tires...BEWARE!!!!!

I had reviewed the tires that I wanted to buy on their website. I then called to confirm that they had them in stock and made an appointment to have them installed. When I arrived, I waited for about 10 minutes at the service desk before I was helped. The service person remembered our phone call and pulled up the details on the computer. He then said that they were running in-store specials and asked if I would be interested in hearing them. I said only if they were equivalent to the Michelins I was looking at. He said that they were as good or better than the Michelins. However the brand name he gave me was nothing that I recognized. I decided to stay with the Michelins.
The salesperson then took an iPad type device and started to produce a sales order. He then asked if would follow him. We walked backed through a maze of stacked tires to the far back of the room to where he pointed to a stack of tires saying that these were the ones I was looking for. It was so dark back there that it was hard see what kind of tires they were. He then started to review the sales order that he had on the iPad. In addition to the tires that I wanted to purchase was a list of other charges including tire balancing. Their site had said that mounting was included in the price without clearly indicating that balancing was not. Based upon the online pricing I had expected to pay about $760 for a set of 4 tires. The price that was shown to me on the iPad was well over $900. I left. Another service person followed me out to my car asking me to come back in, saying that we could work out a deal. I left forever (or until they change the way they do business).

I would never put a Chinese tire on my vehicle and I tried explaining that to the salesman and all he did was say was that these tires are better than Firestone and that all tires are made in China (totally untrue). I recently brought my Tacoma in for new tires and alignment. They force feed you Mastercraft tires because that is their brand tire. I decided to give them a try because they looked decent. In less than 2 days I was extremely disappointed with my purchase. I did some research and every issue I was experiencing was described in people's complaints. I decided to pursue a well known tire that received great reviews. Another issue I had was with my alignment. My steering wheel was crooked when driving straight and my truck pulled hard to the left. So when I was able to get back into the Manchester, CT store to make the tire swap, they wanted to charge me more than what the advertised price was. Another slimy move that they tried to pull.
I sat there 2 hours when I already had an appointment. I got my new tires and they look great, my steering wheel is crooked to the other direction now and I'm tired of dealing with this store. I would not recommend them and definitely go elsewhere. My tires feel like they are not balance properly and I will now have to have it looked at. All said and done, I have spent about 5 hours getting tires, 2 hours of drive time and I'm still having problems. Is it that hard to install tires properly and do a correct alignment? What I have learned is news travels fast and bad news travels even faster. I wanted to make sure people don't make the same mistake I have. The sales people get attitudes when you ask any questions and they are very unprofessional. Shop around and go with a reputable company!

They not only did the alignment, I was told all 4 tires were under air psi. Then while driving on highway, truck was all over the road. About 4 months later, I started getting vibration. I went to Town Fair Tire. Was told Ford trucks have these problems. Tires are good. So I have replaced shocks, steering damper ,u-joints all in trying to get my truck back to normal (I am a former Mechanic for GM).
I tried everything I know so I brought my truck to a Ford dealer, Baystate Ford Easton MA. They kept my truck for 1 1/2 days. When I picked up my truck my 1st Question was not how much do I owe you. I asked, "What did you find wrong and is it fixed?" The service MGR informed me there isn't anything mechanical wrong with my truck and that the tires are bad. He also told me to go to where I bought them and ask them what they could do .So I did. I was told by Town Fair Tire they would sell me another set of tires at their cost. What happened to the warranty the tires cost me, $977.09 that were supposed to have 60000-mile warranty on them. They only have 6000 on them. Tires were made by Mastercraft . I travel highways to work. This is a safety problem. I think they should either give me my money back and money I have spent or replace my tires with a different brand of my choice.

I brought it to the Manchester, CT store, where I had made the original purchase. Before the sales associate (Chris) even looked at the tire, he sold me a four-tire alignment, balance and rotate service ($99). He then looked at the tire and let me know it was unrepairable, but since I had the road hazard warranty, I was covered. He tried to charge me $50 for all kinds of nonsense. After three tries, we ended up at $4.20, the cost of a new valve stem. Finally, he gave me the keys and told me I was all set. Town Fair Tires had an ad in the paper for tires that fit my SUV. Upon taking the ad into the store (Waterbury), I was informed that they are out of stock but that I could receive a better tire for the same price. This actually turned out to be $20.00 more per tire but with 10,000 extra miles. After all of the added items needed (that are not included), alignment, valves, disposal, etc., etc., they added another $150.00. I am now well over $500.00 but I need the tires so I have them do it.
Later that day, I had to go to another place for emission. This place (Goodyear) gave me a quote with all the bells and whistles (everything included) for $150.00 less than Town Fair. When I showed the estimate to the manager at Town Fair (that same day), he was able to produce the tires from the ad that I could now get for $100.00 less but I would be charged a $10.00 a tire handling fee ($40.00). All I can say is, never again will I go to Town Fair. I would recommend anybody to go anywhere else and you will get a better deal and service. Run away from Town Fair Tire.

I spoke to the asst. manager and he told me that it could not have been his guys. I disagreed with him and told him that my truck is always alarmed and that the only time that the truck was not alarmed or in my control was with them at my appointment. It was there when I brought it in and now it is not there. I know my truck; it is a low end build (not an SRS or TRD). It has no rear view camera or even cruise control.
I went online and saw that my factory handle (a full length symmetrical lever) goes for $90-$100. The one on my vehicle is a cheap aftermarket ($25-$35) with a smaller (1/3 smaller) lever and a spot for a camera on the right side (which my vehicle does not have or support). The factory one has it on the left side and is expensive. I also am seeing on the internet that stealing tailgates is big. Either they stole my tailgate and swapped with an aftermarket or just my handle only. I am going to my auto-body guy to see if an aftermarket tailgate is now on my truck. They did not torque the bolts properly after installation of new tires. Driver's side wheel came loose, broke a stud, and stripped other studs damaging the wheel mounting areas requiring a new rim. No, I did not go back to have them re-torque the wheels. No one else in the industry requires this. After a wheel is properly torqued to factory specs, that is it. I have been to five other tire centers and this is not a requirement. One guy said, "Oh, you’ve been to Town Fair Tire, huh?" I had the studs and lug nuts replaced and now need a new rim, which TFT said, "Oh well, it is your fault that you did not bring it back for us to re-torque." The sales guy just walked away.
If anyone reads this, do not trust these people. I am not stopping at this either. They could care less about shoddy work. Their attitude really is poor. Learn a lesson from this. After being told that they wouldn't rotate the tires because my salesman, Mike #**, said that they didn't look too good, with 25000 miles and started to say it was a law. When I called him on the law and wanted to see it, he then said it was recommended by the manufacturer. Not having my glasses, I thought this was cleared up but when I picked up the car, the two new tires were on the rear and no rotation. I also paid $50 for a line up and was completed on the old tires after taking the car someplace else the next day where the tires were rotated and balanced. It is not up to the salesman to do what they want. It's up to the customer; at least that's what I was taught in the automobile business. I won't send anybody to Town Fair Tire again. Thanks.

I have been a Town Fair Tire customer off and on for many years. Because of a few good instances, I continued to go there and even recommended your stores to my friends. No more! I have had too many bad experiences with the service lately. This last one was just a simple tire repair caused by a small nail. I did not want to take the tire on the car because I did not want the service people removing and reinstalling any of my wheels. I have had too many problems with loose or over-torqued wheel lugs. Before bringing the tire on the wheel in for service, I had located a small nail still in the tire and marked it with masking tape after verifying it was in fact leaking air. I showed the people at the desk exactly what the problem was and they said it would be ready for pickup in an hour.
When I picked up the wheel and tire, I looked closely at the fix and saw a repair plug was put in the tire along the side of the nail that was still in the tire. When I showed it to the counter people, including the manager, they said it was not a nail, but the steel belts in the tire. I even proved it was a nail using a small magnet. After a long discussion with me insisting they fix it correctly, one of the shop workers took the tire back to the shop for about 5 minutes. When he returned with the tire, I asked what he did to fix it. He said he just pulled out the nail (the one they insisted did not exist). I then asked that they at least check it for leaks after pulling out the nail. Again, they took the wheel back to the shop and said it was not leaking. Hopefully, if they installed a patch on the inside of the tire as they said they did, it will not leak again.
When I took the tire and wheel at home to reinstall it on the car, I noticed there were more and larger weights installed. I just assumed it was necessary because the tire was in a different rotation on the wheel. Later that afternoon, when I drove it out on the highway, there was a severe shimmy in the steering wheel, probably caused by the tire they just fixed. This time, I had to take it back with the tire on the car because I did not have time to remove it myself. They verified it was way out of balance, removed all the new weights and rebalanced with very little weight. Before the mechanic reinstalled the wheel on the car, I asked him to use a torque wrench to make sure the lugs were torqued correctly. He said they always use a torque wrench. He then proceeded to tighten the wheel lugs with an air wrench, followed by using a torque wrench to at least make sure none of the lugs were loose enough to fall off.
When I got home with the car, I had to use a long cracker bar to loosen the lugs so I could torque them correctly. If I didn't do this, I would not be able to remove the lugs with a normal lug wrench in the event of a flat tire. How can so many things go wrong with what should have been a simple tire repair? What really bothers me the most is that everyone, including the manager, at Town Fair Tire saw nothing wrong with what happened. There was no apology, just blank looks from everyone, as though this was just business as usual. I suggested twice to the manager that he should take notice of what his people were doing out in the shop before they lose business or someone gets into an accident from an incorrectly installed wheel.
While I have had problems in the East Hartford, CT store in the past, the latest problems were at the Store in Rocky Hill, CT. After looking on the internet for complaints against Town Fair Tire, I saw this happening in many other stores as well. I liked Town Fair Tire because they had a selection of brand name tires to choose from. They used to fix flats reliability if I brought the tire in myself. But now, I will have to look for tire companies that offer better customer service. I feel sorry for people who do not take the time or have the tools to make sure your work is done correctly. My daughter fell into a similar situation in the same store. I felt bad because I recommended she go there. I can only suggest that someone take the time to review the work they are expected to do and insist they follow correct procedures for safety reasons if nothing else. While I am sure some of your mechanics are capable of doing things correctly, others are not or just don't care.

On 01/01/2010, I have bought two tires for my car Lexington A/S 215/70 R15. I paid $259.49 for every thing including the rear wheel alignment which they never did but charged me any way. So I went back on the 01/14/2010 and ask that why alignment was not done. The reason I know is that they never did; the alignment was not done because they never even touched the control arm nuts to make any adjustment and with out adjusting the control arm they could not have done the alignment. So they said, “Sure, no problem. We’ll fix it.”
But they did not do the alignment again; so I have to go back again on 01/22/2010 and ask again that your tech never did the alignment again. So they said, “Sure, we’ll take care of it.” But that never happened and they never did that alignment and never give me the sheet or a print out that shows that the alignment was done. To top it off they wrote the miles wrong, so they don’t have to warranty tires. On the 01/04/2010, I have 137000 miles on the car but they wrote 132000. So I asked and they said they made a mistake.
Anyway, now only after 9000 miles on the tires, they are all worn out from the out side and inside edge still have 80% tread left. So I went back and asked them to correct the issues and they said no because I should have gotten the alignment done every 10000 miles and I only have 9000. So the guys named Matt and Geremy did not even know that the 9000 miles are less than 10000 miles. After a two hours of runaround they gave me 70% credit on the old tires which was under warranty for 50000 miles and they made me pay for alignment and all the extras and it cost $171.56 again for two tires. That makes no sense. By now I think we all know that Town Fair people are thieves and they don’t care about their customers. Also, like they always told me, those tires were disconnected. We never received a phone call that the truck was finished. We just decided to check on it knowing what time the shop closed. Then my husband still felt vibrations. When I brought it back, the sales people all had attitudes and mine wasn't even the next to go in. I am sitting here as I type this because they still aren't done with it.

I brought my car in for a replacement tire on 11/15/10. I had suffered a flat nearby at 99 Restaurant on 11/13/10. The salesperson that I dealt with recommended that I purchase two tires. I paid for my purchase, but I was not allowed the free front end alignment. After a wait of over two hours, they finally brought my car in to work on it. I had left a brand new hubcap on the front seat and gave instructions that it be installed on the left front. When the car was returned to me by the installer technician, I thought everything was okay with the new tires. However, yesterday 11/16/10, I checked on the right front tire and found out that an old hubcap in the trunk had been put on the right front tire instead. It appeared that the new hubcap was missing and I stopped back at the store and talked to the manager Frank.
Frank said that he would replace the hubcap and do a four tire alignment for $39.00. I called today to customer service to complain about the poor customer service and the missing hubcap. They called Frank in Wallingford regarding this matter and later on, he called to tell me to bring in my car. After examining my car today 11/17/10, Frank stated that my new hubcap was put on the left rear tire. He stated that evidently, one of my other hubcaps was cracked and they replaced it with the one in the truck (wrong hubcap) and it was put in the box from my car and thrown out. They made no attempt to return the cracked hubcap to me. However, they did a free four wheel alignment today.

I used Town Fair Tire recently to purchase a set of 4 new tires on my Honda. I am very price conscious and shopped around, and submitted a price to their website. They beat the price I submitted and I had the tires mounted and balanced at a Town Fair Tire location in Connecticut. The only issue I had was with the balance on the tire. It had a slight vibration when I got the car back. So of course, I went right back and told them about my problem. They immediately re-balanced my tires and fixed the problem. I actually had a bent wheel from a nasty pot-hole I hit a couple days earlier. They rebalanced the bent wheel and had me back on the road in 10 minutes.

I bought four new tires with a warranty in November 2009. I hit a curb and damaged tire in rear. I was told it can be replaced with warranty. I went there 8-28-10 approx. 11:45am. Spoke with a man named Brian in a gray shirt. He told me my tires were discontinued and I would have to take a different model. Then he took my rim in back to have it switched. He comes to register stating I have to pay $29.95 for the price difference and the mounting and balancing along with warranty. Now I have three same tires which don't even have 10 miles on them along with a totally different odd one.
He didn't specify I would have to pay difference until he took it in back and switched the tire (which does not match the other three). He refused to give back my rim because the guys already put other new one on. I was upset and felt tears coming down so he then said he will give it back without balance. I paid $549 for the tires. I had and rarely drove my car because I have another one. Why do I have to suffer with different tires on my vehicle now when I paid for four matching ones. Not my fault. The tires I bought were discontinued. I believe I should be able to have four matching ones.

I needed my 6,000 tire rotation. I called a few days ahead to get an afternoon appointment on an early release day. When I asked if I could come at 2:30, the young man said yes and went to hang up. I said don't you want my name. "Oh, yea" was his reply. I went at 2 because appointments didn't seem to make a difference. They rotated my tires (I guess) in 45 minutes when I was told 1.5 hours, so I hope it was done. Then I was told I needed to come back at 25 miles to get the nuts torqued. I said it was 25 miles just to get back home so he said, I could come whenever it was convenient. I have a high speed shimmy, I didn't have before on the way home.
When I told my husband I have to go back Monday to check the torque he said no, you don't need to do that. I then called the store so I could understand why the necessity. Matt, the store manager, said they recommend it. I asked who they are and he said Town Fair. I said I just don't understand why that needs to be done because I have had a lot of cares in my 61 years and never had to do that. He asked for my phone number, looked up my order and said that was because I had over 100,000 miles on my car and if I looked at the back of my wheels, I would see the bolts are probably rusted with all those miles. I told him in January, I bought new steel wheels and new tires from him so I don't have the old wheels. Well, that stumped him, because now he had run out of answers. I said my husband bought new tires from them and he didn't need to bring it back in. Again with the 100,000 miles on my car. I said, no I have new wheels remember. He said well this is our new policy since about a year and a half ago so. I said my husband got his new tires from you after I bought mine.
Now, this really annoyed him so he said, well this is the company recommendation and it is up to you. You can do what you want, you can do it or not, you can come to Town Fair or not, you don't have to even drive your car if you don't want. Your choice. I told my husband who called him back. Matt denied he said that until I got on the phone. My husband said I was only trying to understand the process and the need for something and making comments like that was not customer service.
I have been in customer service for many years and I can tell you, I do not treat paying customers this way, nor do the people who worked for me. Next time I will drive all the way to Milford and try another of their stores. If this is the norm, I will use my local mechanic. After reading other complaints about Town Fair, I'm actually nervous about driving my car. Did they do anything at all? Did they mess things up?

I brought my car in to have a leaking tire repaired. After waiting 10 minutes, the employee came out to tell me that my tire could not be repaired because there were two nail holes that could not be patched and I would need to purchase a new tire. I told him to fill the tire with air since I would not be purchasing a tire that day.
Since I drive an AWD car, I had to search high and low for a company that sold my exact tire. After traveling to Mass to a different company, they had no idea why I was even having my tire replaced. I explained the situation and they told me that I was lied to. There were no nails in my tire and there were no holes. The tire had separated from the rim which was easily fixed by resealing the tire at no cost.
Town Fair Tire tried to scam me into buying a new tire by blatantly lying to me about having nails in my tire. And to top it off, when removing and replacing the tire they altered my alignment so that now my car veers to the left. I am in the process of complaining to the company since I am pretty peeved that I was trying to be scammed.

Several months ago I needed to buy tires, I couldn't afford to buy all four, so I bought two, the salesman sold me Yokohama tires, and told me they were one of the best. I agreed and purchased the tires to the tune of $398.00 after alignment and warranty. I now need two more tires, and I am told the tires I bought are no longer being made. I am upset, I like my car to have all the same tires. I want Yokohama to give me 4 of all the same tires, and take back the tires I bought 4 months ago. A credit would be nice.

I purchased 4 new tires with road hazard warranty, after a year, when I had a flat, they charged me for a repair when the warranty said no charge. They said that they would not repair the tire if I would not pay for the repair ,as the tire was flat. I had no choice but to pay.

Steer clear of these amateurs. Despite spending over $700.00 for a 4 new tires, the level of service I received was lousy at best. For one, I made an appointment and asked how long it would likely take. The person on the phone said, "Like an hour or 2, but maybe 4 or 5 if we’re busy". I asked why if I had an appointment would I wait longer if it was busy seeing as an appointment means they are allotting time for me. He replied "Because appointments don't really mean anything."
Ok, I should have said forget it right then and there. But I went anyhow. In any event, it took over 2 hours just to mount and balance the 4 tires. Having worked in a shop for years, if I took my time, I could mount and balance 4 tires in 30 minutes, tops. So these guys are clearly amateurs. Then I had to wait another hour and a half for the alignment. 3 and a half hour for four tires and an alignment, is ridiculous. To make matters worse, there was grease and dirt all over my carpets in my car and greasy handprints all over my wheels. The salesperson I dealt with appeared to either be overtired or high on some sort of drugs. He was just rude and completely uninterested in doing his job. This was the first and last time I will ever deal with this company. Who cares about a good price if the service you get is crap.

The first visit was March/April of 2009. I had a tire that needed repair only. I went to Town Fair Tire in Brockton Mass. They charged me $100 to check everything and a front end alignment. They said the tire was repairable, so they half repaired it after 3 hrs. I told them I had to go to work. They suggested I bring the car back the next day for the alignment. I go back the next day and waited 2 hrs and had to go to work. On the third day, I demanded they do the alignment now because I am getting upset. After 2hrs, they were done and I feel it was never done. They ripped me off charging me $100 for a $10 tire repair. The car was still off line as well. I left things alone and left it to fate. They will be punished for their actions one day. I ended up having to replace the tire after all that.
Here we are, one year later and I need a new tire again. Like and idiot, I go to the Town Fair Tire in Natick Mass. The kid there started with the $100 deal. I said.. no no no. Just give me a new tire. He told me he put the new tire on the back because I have more power in the back. I just looked at him and knew I made a big mistake again. I have a 2005 Chevy Impala and now the car has front wheel drive. Now, the tire he took from the back is now giving me a problem. They did something, I can't prove it though.
I went to a tire place that has veteran employees. He told me when you go to town fair, you are dealing with a bunch of kids that don't know what they are doing. I believe that is very true! Of course, he said you are right, heaven for bid you have a blow out, the bad tire being in the back will give you more control of the car. That tire he put on the front is not so good, you think he told me that at town fair... ahh... no. Town Fair Tire should be called Rip of Tire, because that is all they do. They take peoples' money and have a bunch of kids working on your car. I can't believe I have dealt with 2 different locations, and got the same result... nothing!

On December 16, 2009, I arrived at Town Fair Tire at 11:24am to purchase two tires for the rear of my Ford F-150 pickup. My truck was released to me at 1:45pm. After driving my vehicle home and inspection of the work done, I noticed that a bolt and nut was missing from the tie-rod retaining bracket. I drove back to Town Fair Tire and pointed this out to the acting manager/employee who attempted a free front-end alignment which came with the tire purchase. He told the manager that the bolt and nut was missing before the attempted alignment although there was clear evidence the bolt was there prior to their attempt to align my vehicle and was broken while either loosening or tightening the retaining bracket.
Furthermore, the new tires were filled at 30 and 32 psi when the specs called for 41 psi! After a feeble attempt by the acting manager to find a replacement bolt, I decided to drive to Home Depot and purchase a bolt and nut. Before I left, I asked the manager why I was not told this bolt and nut was missing, if in fact it was, prior to the front-end alignment and why it wasn't replaced. He looked at me as to say he had no answer. In conclusion, if I did not check my vehicle, my wife or I could have been seriously injured, or worse, if the tie-rod after time separated from the wheel. And if that was not enough, I had to tighten the lug nuts again to ensure my family's safety!
