I purchased 5 Cooper 275/65R18 Discoverer ATS4S OWL 116T tires for my F-150 truck on 3/28/2019. One tire I used for the spare. I usually purchase a tire of the same kind in case I run into an issue and need a new tire to match. At the time I purchased a wheel alignment. On 9/16/2019 I returned to my tire centre to have the tires rotated because they felt out of balance. At that time they informed me my alignment was out and my driver side tire was unevenly worn. At first I thought maybe I hit a pothole as we have a lot of them where I live. I had them realign the the vehicle and had them switch the spare with the worn tire.
Within 5000 Ks my tires were making a whooping noise as I drove at highway speed. This time I went to my Ford dealer and they informed me that my tires were all cupped and that’s what was causing the noise. Two months later I had the tires removed as they were now badly worn out. I purchased the tires at 121,282 kilometres and replaced them at 161,000 (about a year and a half) kilometres which works out to roughly 25000 miles. I am now coming to the conclusion that it wasn’t the alignment issue but the poor quality tires that were to blame. I won’t ever purchase Cooper tires again. Once a company losses my trust there are no second chances.

They always seem to become unbalanced and I can feel every bump in the road because of how stiff they are. I contacted Cooper and they said there’s nothing they can do to get me a refund so I can purchase a different set of tires. I will not be purchasing another set of Coopers for any of my future vehicles.

https: Attached you will see pictures of a bad tire on my wife's 2010 Nissan Maxima. Thank the good Lord that she did not have an accident. This tire did not blow out. It was definitely a defective tire. As you can see from the pictures the tire still had good thread on it but evidently it was defective. In all the years I've worked on cars I have never seen a tire do such a thing. By the grace of God it did not blow out why my wife is driving home from work. I'm very disappointed because this situation should have never occurred. IMG_20200111_101651392.jpg. IMG_20200111_101532572.jpg. IMG_20200111_101835361.jpg/photos.app.goo.gl/

My Zeon LTZ XL tires are cracking and falling apart. I called to get it fixed and was offered $158 rebate on the $1000 tires I recently bought. So I'm out the 1000 and have to get new tires. The open recall that is on them doesn't match the right size they said. I think it's a design flaw that needs to be addressed across the board. Buy anything but Cooper.

Discoverer AT3 XLT. Nice riding, nice looking and quiet for a twin peak winter rated tire. Now the bad part. I was getting 12mpg with my stock Michelin tires on my 2011 Chevy Duramax. Since installing the Coopers I have dropped to 8.8mpg pulling my 5th wheel. The rollability is certainly worse.

I had AT3 Cooper tires installed on my F150. They are terribly out of balance. They tried 14 ounces of bead balancing, did not work, 3 tires were literally bouncing down the road. Then, they tried rim weights, it took an amazing 13-14 ounces to make 3 out of 4 of them drivable at all. The tire tech then says, "You can never put this one anywhere but the right rear". That's ridiculous! How can I rotate the wheels! My rims with Pirella tires only needed 1-2 ounces to balance. I watched them being balanced. They are not bent or have any runout. And, when 3 of 4 are this way, it says it's a tire problem. When it takes nearly 1 pound to balance a tire, the manufacturing process is very poor.

I bought my Cooper AT3 tires a year ago. I like the quiet ride. Good traction in many different terrains including mud and gravel with lots of pavement in between. These are 10 ply tires. I Haul my travel trailer mostly with my pickup. I’ve put over 10 k on the tires so far. No problems at all. The tread looks just like new. They were on sale and a great price. They also offered a mail in rebate which I received from them no problem. I’ve logged a couple million miles as a truck driver and I recommend the coopers to anyone. I’d like to add that if you hit something, it’s not the tires fault. If a valve stem breaks, it’s not the tires fault. If you run the tire with low air pressure, it’s not the tires fault when it explodes. My next tires will be Cooper’s. good product Cooper!

I have had regular oil changes, tire rotations and alignment checks on my car over the last year and the tires are FAULTY wearing unevenly causing the ride to be rough and LOUD. I tried to work with the dealership as well as the distributor who both told me COOPER won't warranty the tires.
So I called them direct and they said it was my car's fault?? Meanwhile my first set of tires had 60,000 miles on them with ZERO issues, my car is serviced regularly and otherwise in mint condition. I will NEVER buy another set of Cooper Tires and would caution anyone considering them to spend the extra money and buy something of quality and who VALUES their dealers and distributors. Purchased two Cooper CS3 touring tires last year on a road trip in Lordsburg NM, due to my Continentals failing. My gas mileage immediately dropped from 27 down to 24 mpg. One year and 26,000 miles later, tread depth is now 3/32". They are starting to get flats, which happens when tires are nearly worn out. I've lost the warranty paperwork, but they had either 60,000 or 80,000 mile warranty. The most expensive tires I've ever bought. I would go back to Lordsburg and try to get warranty replacement, but the cost of poor fuel economy is more than the value of the tires.

After many tries, I went back to the virtual card site and there is no contact information for help. They give you a web link that goes to a page to get Info. I input the info that they requested, and the page kept going blank and said there was a problem. Again, no contact info.
I contacted Cooper Tires customer service who replied with a phone number to call for help with that. I called and the person I spoke with said that they don’t have any info on that. Again, no help. Went back to Cooper Tire Cust Service...nothing. Called the phone number again and again a different person states that their system doesn’t maintain those cards. Still awaiting response from Cooper Tires. A “virtual” card rebate is just that - virtual. Can’t redeem it, can’t spend it, can’t collect it. I am never going to buy Cooper Tires ever again. I've had Cooper AT3 tires fitted to my Prado. They did not reach the mileage that is guaranteed and they were only 27 months old when they started to crack along the beads parallel to the rim. I tried to make a warranty claim because Cooper's website says they will replace tires with manufacturing defects within 72 months of manufacture. My tires were manufactured in the 11th week of 2016. They were fitted in January 2017. I discovered the fault in April 2019. Called a very unhelpful rep from Cooper Tires who was not willing to honor any warranty. 50 mins later going around In circles all he could offer was a 10 percent pro-rata credit on the tire. This is because it has travelled 90 percent of its guaranteed mileage, he also went on to say that any extra mileage was a bonus.
My argument was that the tires were in great condition and rotated regularly to prolong the tread life and had a lot of tread and that he should honor the pro-rata based on the fact that the tires are only 27 months old. He refused to offer any replacement and reluctantly reofferd a 10 percent credit. Therefore I will never buy this overrated, underperforming brand ever again. My experience with Cooper Tires was terrible and I should have gone with my gut instinct and bought Japanese tires instead of the American ones which will be going in the bin as soon as I replace them with Dunlop AT22 which Toyota fit at the factory.

Three alignments done. Approximately 4-6 rotation and balances done, because the tires won't stay balanced. These tires never stayed balanced. They have always had a small vibration. On cool and cold mornings, the vibration was very bad.
I replaced front struts, rear shocks, wheels, control arms, ball joints, tie rods, CV shafts, sway-bar links, brake rotors, and engine mounts. None of these replacements corrected the vibration. I've been through several sets of Cooper CS4 tires on a 2006 Nissan Murano and a 2003 Ford Taurus wagon. The tires have been zero trouble, ride quietly and beautifully. In the Murano, which sits high because it's a crossover SUV body style, these tires do a really good job of maintaining control around curves. The tires don't squish or skate sideways. The body rolls like it should and the tires stay nice and firm on the road and pull out of the curve great. On snow or rain, they are also excellent.
BUT... FORGET getting 80,000 miles out of these tires, which is the warranty mileage. 40,000 is more like it. To be fair, I do not religiously rotate my tires every 6000 - 8000 miles like they say you should. I do it once a year or so, when the car is in for some other service. So I could probably get more out of these tires if I rotated them more. And forget getting any kind of warranty compensation out of Cooper unless you have had all the rotations done by a service center (not yourself), and you have printed records of the rotations. Without that, they won't honor any warranty at all. I will probably keep using them because the performance is excellent, and they can be had for well under $150/tire in the larger 18" rim size I need, which is a good price for a tire like this.

When I went to my Toyota dealer (Curry in Croton on RT 6) the tires had ~30k on them, was told that the tires were worn out, and needed to be replaced. Toyota point blank refused to do anything (other than to sell me new tires), and finally told me I had to contact Cooper myself to see if they would at least prorate then for replacement.
That was more than 2 months ago, and to date I have been unable to find a way to contact Cooper so that my situation with their tires could be resolved. I feel that contact with them is designed so that you give up in frustration, and that they are just taking advantage so they can make more profit and to heck with customer support. As a 73 year old senior I am at my wits end with what amount to not getting customer service, but only getting customer DISSERVICE.

I have never written a review before, but feel compelled to do so now. I own several classic cars ranging from the 50s to the 90s. I have purchased many different brands of tires over the years and have had good to not so good luck with them. I always maintain the proper air pressure in these tires. And my vehicles are stored properly. I purchased 4 new Cooper Trendsetter SE P205/70R15 White Wall tires about 2 years ago now, for my 1990 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz. I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT BAD LUCK WITH THESE TIRES. Out of the 4 tires, within the first 6 months TWO tires developed an egg shaped bubble on the area of the white wall. I contacted "Cooper Tire" and was advised to contact the business that I purchased the tires from. And was also told that it would be "Unsafe" to drive on these tires. They offered NO other solution.
I complained to the business that I purchased the tires from. I won't mention any names (they restore rims, but sell tires on the side). She was very nice but, it took me over SIX MONTHS to finally get an exchange for the two tires. She, the owner, keep telling me that her supplier, in Miami wouldn't return her calls. What I believe, she finally did was, ordered the new replacement tires, put them on my car and "ate" the price of the old ones. And in the meantime, was advised by "Cooper Tire" not to drive on these tires. For what took 6 months, really? About a year later, with less than 7 thousand miles on them the vehicle started to develop a front end side to side wobble. I have had the front suspension and a 4 wheel alignment done on this car just prior to buying the new tires at Weber Wheel Alignment here in Lake Worth. They are the best since 1952.
Recently, I took the car to another local well-respected auto shop to have the tires balanced. They told me that 3 tires could be balanced but the 4th could not. He showed me a video that he took as he tried to computer balance that tire, and it was clear that the steel belts had shifted, or started separating, which was causing the wobble. The next day, today, 02/10/17 he called me and said that he has located a new tire for my car to replace this bad one. So out of the 4 new tires that I purchased about two years ago, three out of the 4 so far had to be replaced. These are THE WORST TIRES I HAVE EVER HAD. I'm so sad and very disappointed with them. If I could have purchased white walls from another brand at the time, I would have done so.

They seem to have a good tread and stay inflated even though I have had to have them filled with nitrogen air once. They have had a slight pull to one side ever since they were put on my vehicle. In October of 2015, I brought my 2007 Jeep Liberty into the most respected tire company where I live. I had explained my concern and disappointment in the Goodyear All Terrain and the tire dealer highly recommended the Cooper Discover AT3 tires as I live in a mountainous region. I agreed to take his recommendation and he installed the new tires on my Jeep and I demanded and paid for an alignment at the time of the tire purchase.
From the time of the first oil change, I was told about the abnormal wear on the tires and have had them rotated every 5k miles. These crap tires were completely worn out at 19k miles, and when I mean bald, I mean smoother than a baby's butt. I looked up Cooper Tire warranty online and they are supposed to be good up to 55k miles. Not. I took the Jeep back to where I bought the tires and was told that the asphalt roadways ate up the tires. I was told that I literally have to have the name, date of birth, and fingerprint of the first born of the person who rotated the tires, time, date, air temperature, and the color and consistency of my most recent bowel movement to have Cooper honor the warranty on their tires.
Needless to say, I had to fork out another $700 bonus for 4 new tires. These are absolutely the worst tires I have ever purchased and I will never buy another set of these junk tires ever again. Screw Cooper Tires and their BS warranty and poorly made tires. On August 17, 2016 my front passenger tire developed a huge bubble. At this time the tire had less than 720 miles on it. After having to have it towed to the dealership upon inspection the tire itself had no damage to it but the inner wheel was beyond warped. They kept insisting I had hit something which I knew was untrue and made me pay for a replacement wheel even though the dealership assured me it was be covered under the tire warranty. $346 later I got my car back.
Not even a month later on Tuesday Sept. 13, 2016, while driving my three small children home from school my back passenger tire blew out. I have been driving vehicles for 20 years. I have never had a blowout ever. For the second time in less than a month my vehicle needed to be towed to the dealership. Upon inspection of this tire they found some abnormal beading around the wheel to the point were they were unable to even blow the tire back up. Again the dealership was insisting that I had hit something. I was driving on on a back road that is known to often have deer on it. I never go above 20 miles an hour on this specific road. Again they had wanted to not honor the warranty and had wanted to charge me again for the tire.
Only after I threatened to walk away from the 10 months that is left on my lease did the dealership say they would now take on the responsibility/burden of getting the company to honor their warranty for the tire. I never write reviews but I feel that it's very important to let people know that they think they are getting a good tire for a good price. The truth is not only are these tires poorly made, the very company who makes them will not honor their own warranty. Boy, was I mistaken. In December of 2015 with under 20,000 miles on them the truck started shaking while driving to work. I thought I threw a wheel weight, so I went to the nearest America's Tire to get it rebalanced. Instead, the tech showed me where the rear tire tread began to delaminate. I had to limp to another shop with one in stock, paid the fee, and warrantied the tire. In February 2016 with another 1,000 +/- miles on them the second tire from this set began to delaminate in the same manner, and I again warrantied that tire at my local shop. I asked America's Tire to warranty the others, but they saw no issues and said no.
In May 2016 with about 1,200 miles more on them the third tire from that set completely blew up in the middle of nowhere while towing the boat, causing $2,500.00 +/- damage to my truck and leaving my family on the side of the interstate in the desert for an hour while I unloaded the car seats from the truck, got the jack out, and put on the spare. Three useless Cooper tires all failed with less than 22,000 miles on them. Discount Tire in Lake Havasu City, AZ (same company as America's Tire in CA) took pity on me and yanked the Coopers off and sent me home with a set of four Nitto Terra Grapplers for $580.00. If nothing else, Discount/America's Tire company is at least customer friendly.
I have a claim in with Cooper's attorneys with all of my purchase and warranty invoices and my damage estimates from the repair shop and Allstate. I'll report back what (if anything) they'll do. All I can say is run, Run, RUN away from any tire with the Cooper name on them. I don't care if it's a buy a spare and get four tires free sale. I was doing about 10 MPH in a construction zone but had to drive 3 blocks before I could pull over which damaged the sidewall. The Cooper distributor claimed I clearly caused the failure by driving on a low tire based on the sidewall damage. The retailer sold me a replacement at his cost and waived the amount and balance charges and disposal fee, Cooper and the distributor did nothing.
Today the left side tire from the original purchase began to separate at 65 MPH, by the time I got my truck under control, back in my lane and off the road the tire was in shreds and the fender well of my truck was beat to hell. Today, while checking balancing, was told two others have same problem and the fourth will probably as well. So 3 new tires. So far my Coopers have cost me over $700.

My son purchased 4 new Cooper tires for his car two months ago. Yesterday, one of the tires had a bulge and was losing air. He removed the tire and took back to NTB where he purchased the tires. He had to pay 68 dollars for a new tire. That is ridiculous. Is this how Cooper backs their tires? He was told because of tread wear. Seriously, how much tread wear can you have after two months of limited driving?

I purchased new Cooper Discoverer tires for my Toyota Tacoma six months ago at Discount Tire. After less than 6,000 miles service, with no apparent tread issues, the right rear tire suddenly blew on a downhill curve on 4-lane highway. I lost control, rolled multiple times down the highway and was extremely lucky to survive the accident. There was no obvious tire damage, just a sudden blowout. My truck is totaled and I'm very lucky to be alive. Obviously my last set of Cooper tires, especially after reading the other reviews here. This is people's lives they're messing with! I'm just glad no one was riding with me and I did not cause other vehicles to crash. If you have these tires consider replacing them if you value your life. Bought four Coopers for a 3/4 ton truck. They were studded snow tires. One shed its outer casing on the highway at 70 mph plus. It wrecked my rear inner fender liner. It blew itself to pieces and the cars behind me got hit with debris. They were not new at the time, I take them off in the summer and run quiet tires in the warm months. They did get stored during the summer but I don't think a tire that is a few years old should blow apart. I will never buy a Cooper tire again. I have been using General Tire snows the last couple of years and they are excellent.

I purchased a set of Cooper Discoverer A/Ts for my 2013 Ram Limited 4x4 in July 2014 to replaced my factory original Goodyear Wranglers which were getting bald at 20,000 miles. I do mostly highway driving on dry pavement and occasionally snow packed Colorado roads. So far they are wearing normally and continue to ride silky smooth at all speeds and exhibit decent traction on snowy, slushy roads. I've rotated and had them rebalanced every 6000 miles. Road noise is not too bad either given the fact the tire has that aggressive tread look to it. I also recently threw a set of Mastercraft A/S IV tires, also manufactured by Cooper on my old Mitsubishi Mirage. They too ride well, thus far for an economy tire. I will post my customer satisfaction update within the next few thousand miles.

I have bought Cooper tires twice...my first and last time! I've had mine for 3 years and rotated when rotation was due! After installing, they would shake and rattle during cold weather (yes they were balanced) - finally stopping when they heated up. They are a poor tire! I went for a rotation last week and noticed a great deal of vibration, took it back to the tire shop and they said that a knot had formed and tire separation was occurring on that tire. After the dealings with this tire company, I immediately told the store manager to put a set of Michelin's! You get what you pay for... Cooper is junk and they will never be on any of my vehicles again and I will tell people to avoid them!

WARNING: This is an irresponsible manufacturer who has one of the worst Customer Service departments I've ever dealt with. Purchased four (4) tires. One went bad just outside their warranty period which is determined by the amount of tire wear. This tire was on the rear of the car and the defect was not discovered until the tire was moved to the front of the car (Rotated). Their "Customer Service" department blamed me for not rotating the tires on a more frequent schedule and stated that I caused the defect to develop. I've had several tire experts examine the tire and agree that this was definitely a manufacturing defect.
Tried to contact their corporate office for further discussion. No response and I was told that they don't return phone calls if a message is left. CONCLUSION, Cooper Tire will give you any excuse, as ridiculous as it maybe, to NOT accept responsibility for their products and I feel at this point their warranty would have meant nothing. STAY AWAY FROM THIS MANUFACTURER WHEN CONSIDERING A BRAND OF TIRE. CHOOSE A DIFFERENT BRAND.

Tires on the truck developed a "roaring" noise, even with proper rotation and inflation. Mastercraft/Cooper warranty calls for either replacement of the tires, or refund under warranty based on percentage of remaining tread. At the time the tires were returned under warranty, they were still at over 70% tread life according to the installer. Warranty amount should have been around $85 per tire.
Instead, Cooper has refunded $31 per tire, claiming that the tires were "cupped", which isn't covered. They claim the uneven wear is caused by some mechanical deficiency with the vehicle. **. I talked briefly with a service rep from Cooper, got nowhere quick. I assured her this was the last set of Cooper/Mastercraft tires I would ever buy. Needing to replace my current Cooper CS4's on an 07 Odyssey. So, as always, I like to do a bit of research. Personally, I have been well pleased with these tires. My first Cooper purchase ever, and my only complaint is that they are a bit noisy. The van came with Bridgestone Turanzas on it as original equipment. Lasted 55,000 miles. I'm now at 123,000 plus. Do the math. I run 35 psi all around. Keep a check on pressure, rotate every oil change, which averages 10,000. Castrol Synthetic and Honda filters. (Nothing to do with tires, but just wanted to throw that in there.)
Even wear, smooth as a baby's bottom, and still around 3/32" to be at the wear indicators. Good in the rain, don't drive in the snow. No hard braking. Just replaced pads at 103,000. I do speed, and the faster I drive, the smoother and quieter the tires have been. I've read numerous complaints and have viewed a few pictures showing tire damage. Look closely. I saw one on a bent rim. Hard to blame Cooper for that one. Anyway, I believe I will be purchasing a set of the CS5's to replace these with. Hopefully they will not be as noisy, and will be able to achieve the same, if not more, mileage.
I realize that it's possible to get a defective tire. I bought a new cell phone, and had to get it replaced. Just happened to get a bad one. No problems with the replacement. I have several friends that complain about the Michelin's on their Odyssey van. Most of them drive like a bat out of hell, jack rabbit starts, and braking at the last minute. However, my tire dealer, one man show independent guy, says keep away from the Michelin's on this vehicle. There's my rant, take it with a grain of salt, and buy what you like. Because it worked on your brothers Dodge, doesn't mean it will work on that Powerstroke. Have a Great Day. God Bless.

I have purchased 3 sets of 4 tires in the last 24 months. I completed the rebate form each time, carefully and accurately, each time I was outright rejected. I had to call them each time and wait on hold until I could get a representative. Each time, the representative pulled up the rebate and came to the conclusion that it was completed thoroughly and they would now be sending me my rebate.
The first time I believed it to be an honest mistake, the second time I also thought it was an oversight. On the third set I even told the retailer of my Cooper Tire rebate problems and how hesitant I was to even go that route. They convinced me to buy another set of four tires and we even highlighted the date on the receipt to ensure that they knew it was being submitted during the promotional rebate time period.
I waited 2 to 3 weeks and as expected, my rebate was rejected. Consistent with Cooper Tires bad business practices. I had to call them 3 times and was on hold over 10 minutes each time to finally get resolved. I was told I would have to wait 4 to 6 weeks to get my rebate so I will assume that it will arrive but as of now I do not have it.
I am thinking about others who start the process, get rejected and never follow up with a phone call to get their money. This is simply unbelievable and a systematic poor way to achieve expense reduction. This major company is persistently and consistently attempting to not pay rebates through their initial rejection of all of my rebate submissions. Although their product appears to be fine, their aftermarket business practices have led me to never want to do business with them again.

Another sidewall had ruptured. My original dealer no longer sells this brand and so I had to call the factory for assistance. I spoke to their customer service representative and was given 3 dealers to contact near my home. I, of course called the closest dealer. The factory assured me the dealer was competent to make a warranty decision. These tires had only 10K miles and were warrantied to 65K.
Well the dealer told us the tire had to be returned to the factory for a LAB Testing Program which could take up to three months for results. Since the car has already been out of service for 10 days, I deemed the best solution was to purchase another tire. At a very premium price I must say. Moral of this story is do not buy anything from a manufacturer that will not stand by their product. One thing, I sell tires just about any brand, and I can say out of personal experience the Cooper's on my vehicles was superb. (Discoverer HT Plus, and Cooper Zeon XSTA) What I've noticed a lot of people swear by their mechanics, whether they are accurate or not. Many times the vehicles have problems and tires wear funny, dip out, and so on. Where majority of the time it's caused by vehicular issues, struts/shocks, bearings, tire rod end, alignment, or other axle issues. Also some people who align front ends realize on some vehicles it's a pain to align. Also, on new vehicles you can't really tell if the alignment is out. If you change sizes of tires, this also throws the alignment out, even if it was aligned last time checked.
However, you will find bad tires in every brand. I've noticed Michelin dry rot very easily, especially when armor all is used. Even Goodyear's come apart sometimes, especially from certain retailers. I know they say the customer's always right, however in reality it's the farthest from the truth. Just remember a good tire retailer, will tell you these things even if they don't do these types of repair. Also tire manufacturers can usually tell by the way the tires are worn if there are any issues with your vehicle. Just remember it's not always the tires' fault, check your vehicle, and drive slow when going over bumps or pot holes.

The dealer found no leaks and the tire cracks were getting bigger. Another couple of months and I was filling them up every day and still no leaks according to the dealer. Now I have quit rotating them and am filling them up 20 lbs or more everyday, winter or summer for almost the last two years. Cooper has not responded to any contact over 2 years time and I doubt ever will. These tires are garbage. It wouldn't be as bad if they would respond to the complaints, but they never do.

We purchased some Discover HTP Tires in October and have been experiencing issues with deflation after three weeks of putting them on. What is the problem? So we have a lifetime warranty on the tires through the retailer. The other morning my dad had a full flat and had to call roadside assistance to change it. The retailer needs to pay closer attention to the reviews if customer satisfaction is a priority. I will never again purchase a Cooper due to safety reasons. I am in the process of contacting the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration so the company's product can be investigated for us the consumers. I wish something will or can be accomplished before anyone gets hurt.

We purchased a set of these tires at 31,000 miles, Dec, 2012. On our 2011, Std Rav4, V-6, 4X. From day one we enjoyed the new footprint. Truly improved overall ride, with solid control feel. We now have 93,000 miles and I just ordered another set for install in the AM. As a veteran car person with credentials, this was a great set of tires. Had to replace one beyond repair. Had to pay to have it 'shaved' down to match existing tires ($72.00). I thought with 269HP, I'd be out of tires after 20-25K? 62,000 Miles. Yes much is flat straight & narrow miles. Going from Reno to SFO in 3 1/2 hours, several times a month, was way more fun than I've had since racing. Nope, pure turn key here. Let the fellas at Big O on Kietzke in Reno, change oil & rotate tires as required, and enjoy.
Just looked at them again, no inside bias wear patterns, nothing. We don't abuse, but as 2 ex-Porsche employees, we do enjoy the heck out of this little 6 second to 60 MPH commuter. This is a good sized tire for the RAV4. Me thinks perhaps those complainers are undertired for their vehicle and driving conditions. Ice and snow were now problems on Donner Summit for us. Nice whence a product 'exceeds' expectations.

Put 50,000 miles on those tires and had to replace one that developed a side wall bulge - but that tire had a nail years before and was repaired. Ran that car at 80 or 900 miles. The rubber got too hard with 5/32 of rubber and wouldn't stick on a wet road. Second set - response worked great. Handled like a go cart, got much better gas mileage and worked like snow tires. Hit a pot hole and side wall step..... Car 2, Gran marquis. Lifeliners were on the car when I got it, put to response on it - besides the bent rim. I have put 20,000 miles on the car in a year - 6 trips of 1500 miles and run 85mph, no problems yet. 83 dodge truck, trendsetters on the front - 3 years 15,000 miles, never rotated and still look good.

Last winter was rough in the Mid-Atlantic and these tires SUCK!!! I change my oil (which is every 5000 miles), I rotate my tires.
Roughly 19,000 later these tires are shot and Cooper says I have to buy a new set, then send my old ones back and they will determine if they are under warranty. What happened to a Cooper rep coming out and making the call?? This tells me they will find any excuse not to cover them!! I don't know about everyone else, but I don't have $800+ to lay out on a new set!!! My tire shop has been doing everything they can to help me. My truck was pulling to the right. Took it to get aligned. The alignment was fine. The tech said it was due to RADIAL PULL from the tires. Apparently the Coopers are poorly manufactured and the internal components (the belts inside the tires) are installed incorrectly and therefore one side of the tire is weaker than the other. The weaker side wears sooner and the truck pulls in that direction. I've only had these tires @ 20,000 miles and now I have to replace all of them. In April 2012, eight Cooper Zeon RS3-A tires 205/50R17 were mounted on my two identical Mazda cars. At the time of mail order purchase, 2 tires were so out-of-round that the cars rattled horribly. I contacted the store, Discount Tire Direct, and they gladly and without hesitation replaced them and paid for shipping both ways. However, even with the replacement tires, both cars still vibrated a little. Six months later, I had the front struts replaced and the front end aligned on one car, but still the vibration continued. I had the service station check and rebalance the tires. They showed me the tires were slightly out-of-round. Meaning they had a lopping rotation as they spun around the balance machine.
I emailed Cooper using their online form, but never received a reply. I have and use dedicated snow tires with rims during the 6 months of winter, so these tires get used and rotated every 7000 miles or so. I put the Cooper tires back on for summer in June, just to realize how badly these tires were vibrating. The shake in my steering wheel has worsened over the 23000 miles now on the tires. Time made me complacent so I never pursued a resolution, but I did call Cooper this July. The service representative though polite, told me the roundness warranty only covers the first 2/32 of an inch of tread life and that I should take it to an authorized Cooper dealer.
I believe this would be an exercise in futility with 23000 miles. I contacted the local dealer anyway about a warranty inspection but was told I would have to prove tire rotation and alignment services for any proration within the now expired warranty period. Of course, this issue has affected all aspects of the ride, making it difficult to rate the tire in any category except one, I'm not satisfied! As a side note, I tried to post a similar review on Discount Tire Direct web site but the review submission failed, even after multiple attempts. I then reposted with more favorable category selections and the review submission was successful. I'm just saying.

When I rotated it to a front tire I noticed a thump, thump, thump sound and a bad vibration. I took the tire back to the dealer that I purchased them from and he confirmed that it was out of round and had a noticeable two inch wide hump inside (looked like a 2 inch splice overlap). My complaint other than the fact that this tire passed the manufacturer’s inspection (if they even have such) is the dealer cannot make an adjustment decision but has to contact Cooper Tire and return the tire for them to decide what if anything can be done; also, he says it will be a couple of weeks. Got a 4 set of Cooper Cobra Radial TA's for my hotrod Lincoln and boy do they make ol' girl look wicked! All that would soon change, within a year, my car had this unusual vibration. The alignment was still spot on. It couldn't be the tires, they were still new? So I blamed it on the shocks, bought a new set shocks, still the vibration was there. I then put the blame on a possible off balanced driveshaft. So I upgraded that and got a new one with u-joints, still vibrating. I then passed on the blame to the front Tie Rods, changed all four and had the car realigned rotated the tires as usual (I'm all about preventive maintenance on my car, I love my hotrod Lincoln). Now my car was vibrating even worst than ever and the steering was really difficult. Decided that I should have the tires rebalanced, before I started to put the blame on the ball joints. It wasn't until I had them rebalanced that the shop guy told me that two of my tires were so warped that there is no way to possible to balance them.
Due to my financial reality, I had no choice but to BUY TWO MORE of these totally terrible tires, now that it was a safety issue (I would have bought 4 more of another brand if I could afford it!). I could only afford two tires and I couldn't see myself drive a hotrod Lincoln with missed matching tires. I have never had tires warp on me outside of being bald and years old and even then not to this extreme. These tires still had MORE THAN HALF of the tread left! After I had the two tires changed the vibrations went away and the steering is back to a safe level.....Now it's about two years and the vibrations are coming back, so I figure, from experience, that it's got to be the other two pieces of crap Cooper Cobra tires that need replacing NOW as well, so CRAP here I go... I'm going to have to replace the other two.
So All in All in two years time I've wasted X-amount of $ on 8 Cooper Tires, 4 Shocks, 4 Tierods and A New Driveshaft. Cooper Tire company turns 100 years this year. They are reliable, they last, the price is reasonable and the quality is excellent. I see that lots of people on here are leaving negative reviews on Cooper Tire products, but a large portion of the problems stated cannot be blamed on the tire company. This is not the place to review your negative experience with life, but with the product itself.
I also understand that there may be a defective tire, but if you ran something over (whether you saw it or not) don't blame Cooper Tire. If both tires on the same side blew up, then you definitely ran something over. Don't blame a company or their product for your situational mishaps. To answer a majority of all your concerns and questions, Cooper Tire products are NOT dangerous and are some of the most highly praised tires out there. Approximately One week prior to tire disintegration, I had stopped at American Tires, where I had purchased to check on a foreign piece of metal in tire. They checked tire, stated tire was okay.
After inspection American Tire always checks all tires for proper inflation and if needed always inflate tires manufacturer's specification which was done. Put Load Range E 285/75/R16 tires on 7.5 inch rims on F350 Pickup with Cab Over Camper. Certified Automated Truck Scale weight of rig was 13,080 lbs. - 3,070 lbs. on the wheel where the tire shredded. Cooper's rating of the tire was for 3,750 lbs., and the rims suggested by Cooper were 7.5 inches to 9.0 inches. Cooper claims that the rim was too narrow and the weight on the tire was too great - but both were well within their published specifications. Yet they blame the tire dealer and us for the failed tire and refused to pay for the replacement - pretty sad way to treat a customer that has purchased 14 Cooper tires over the last four years.
This was the fourth tire that failed in exactly the same way on the same rig (first three were paid for by the distributor without involving Cooper directly). I've had the camper and truck for almost 10 years and never had a tire fail until I had the Coopers mounted - same load range E and 7.5 inch rims - mostly BF Goodrich tires. The tires were just poor quality and overrated for what they really could do. I first called their home office when the tire failed, and they insisted on having the tire sent to them. They then refused to pay for it at a low level, and then I wrote the following letter to their "supreme court" for customer complaints, got their final refusal back then called them one final time. They simply refused to admit that their tires were unable to perform as rated even when used exactly as Cooper specified.
"Attached are (1) Pamela ** letter of denial of my claim for reimbursement for a failed tire and (2) the Certified Automated Truck Scale ticket certificate of weight for the vehicle on which the tire was mounted. The use of the tire was in strict compliance with Cooper's specifications as stated by (1) Pam **, (2) the book the dealer has and (3) your website 3,750 lbs. mounted on a rim of 16 inch diameter and width of 7.5 to 9.0 inches.
All we or Advantage Tire (the dealer) had to reference was Cooper's specifications which we were well in compliance with (3,070 lbs. on the RR tire mounted on 16 diameter and 7.5 width rim). If the tire did not perform in accordance with your specified capabilities, it is not capable of performing as specified. That is not my nor the dealer's fault, and the tire should not be held out by Cooper as viable for that use. Both my family and Cooper Tire are lucky the problem was discovered while the vehicle was parked rather than exploding while going down the treacherous mountain road we'd just come from. We could have been seriously injured or killed and our attorneys discussing much more disastrous consequences than just the cost of the tire!
That particular type of tire should NOT be recommended by Cooper for that load range on that rim width if it can't handle the weight specified. In short, I feel I'm entitled to a full refund for this brand new tire that could have cost me and my family our lives when it failed.
P.S. I've purchased at least 14 Cooper tires over the last four years, eight for my Jeep and six for this truck, so I AM a valued and loyal customer!!! This declination surprised and saddened me."

I have purchased 4 Cooper Tires for each of my vehicles over the past 2 and a half years. I purchased these tires based on Cooper Tires indication that they would wear up to 60,000 miles. My first vehicle only got 25,000 miles before I had to replace all 4 and now my second vehicle only got 35,000 miles. I feel that Cooper is falsely advertising the tires wear and tear period. I have my tires rotated every 5,000-7,000 miles and I have had alignments done whenever it has been recommended by the dealer.
If the tire is only good for possibly 40,000 miles than that is the number what Cooper should advertise the tire at. When a consumer is anticipating a $650 to $700 expense based on the manufacturers advertisement selling point of 60,000 miles, it is very disheartening to have to lay out $650+ at 25,000 or 35,000 miles. When the dealer tried to work something out with Coopers representative he received no form of reimbursement or willingness to come to some sort of exchange/credit agreement from Cooper.
My dealer has handled my tire purchases for over 5 years and I don't feel that it is right that the dealer has to take it on the chin and provide some form of compensation just because Cooper doesn't stand behind their product as advertised to the consumer. Cooper needs to change this false advertising to the consumer so they know what to truly expect in the tires longevity. When you budget for tires based on 50,000-60,000 miles and then are forced into coming up with money for 4 new tires within half the time you thought they should have lasted is unfair and frankly inexcusable for Cooper Tire Corporation to continue to lead the consumer on. They need to stop this advertising scam and tell the consumer straight out what they honestly can expect from Coopers product performance and longevity.

Bought 2 to replace a road hazard incident I had with one rear tire. The day after I purchased in Mount Forest, I drove from home to north Georgia. As I was coming off I75, I stopped to get gas. Noticed a bulge in the rear right. Immediately changed to spare and upon getting home took to dealer. He went to his distributor, and I was informed that they would replace at a discount. They felt that it was damaged from impact, such as a curb (on 75!?) or a pothole. I stated I had not hit anything of note. Yes, roads can have potholes in Michigan, but surely I would have noticed? And if I hadn't noticed then what use was this tire. Made in the US for US drivers?!!
I was not happy with this answer as the tire had less than 1,400 km. on it (900 miles). I asked for and received the customer service number for Cooper. Spoke with Pam and her best answer was to take to another dealer to ascertain if it was a road impact or improper installation. I am not prepared to drive all over getting into a raging debate just to resolve a simple issue such as this. I will not be paying for another Cooper tire to replace. In fact, won't ever buy a Cooper tire again. I will make a point of expending my energy in telling all who will listen about my Cooper experience. Good news travels on the back of the average snail, bad at the speed of light.

First incident was on my Dodge Ram pick up on a freeway in Colorado when the Cooper tire blew and completely disintegrated? There was damage to the left from panel of the truck but we were lucky we did not flip. The second incident was on my Chevy Avalanche when I took it to the garage for routine maintenance. They noted the sidewall on the tire was coming apart. I went and bought new Cooper tires. Last week while driving on the Atlanta 275 bypass, the avalanche started to shimmy? I checked the tires to see if I had a flat? Saw nothing so drove on. Next we had an explosion of the tire and after it was replaced on the highway, I drove immediately to a tire dealer and bought four new Firestone tires and left the Coopers which had less than 5000 miles on them. My life is worth safe tires and I was lucky not to be killed.

Great tires, like them so much I bought Cooper AT tires on my truck. I am actually looking online to buy another set of Cooper CS4 tires as Cooper is running a rebate right now and I wanted to see if it included the CS4s. I am very picky, maintain my vehicles well, research products to death and settled on the Coopers - surprised to see quite a few complaints but maybe that is on the low end products from Cooper? Their premium stuff is awesome and comes at a mid-range price, beating out much more expensive tires - okay, just had to say I love them and you will too if you buy their good stuff...

Less than 500 miles once mounted & balanced, the Zeon LTZs started giving balance issues. Aligned, roared, road force balanced 3 times, and 1 tire exchanged under warranty. Nothing worked until I was given a new tire but it only diminished the balance issue about 20-30 percent. I had my tire shop contact Cooper with evidence that this has been going on since the first month and Cooper denied replacement. They offered a prorated reimbursement but only if I purchased their tires again. A 47K truck that rides worse than a 5K beater... last set of Coopers any of my vehicles will ride on and just FYI - Cooper customer service is worthless.

Purchased a set of 265/70r16 Discovery CTS Owl 112t 70k warranty---- paid 735.83 for the set. At 40,000, two tires had separated. Dealer had a great idea -- sell me another set (different brand) and give me 54 dollars for these. I will not purchase Cooper tires again. Hope you do the same!!!

I have a set on my 2001 BMW 330ci. Low miles on them. Road noise so loud I thought wheel bearings were bad. Took to mechanic. Nope, tires bad. Radial busted on rear left. Uneven wear. Alignment checked. Perfect. Needs new set. Took to different tire place than the last. Owner of tire place said "Cooper! Those are junk. I won't sell them here. Let me guess, low miles...." Never again.

I bought Cooper tires for my Toyota pickup truck. These tires are so noisy that I had a mechanic check my truck because my husband thought I had a bad wheel bearing. Not so! Truck checked from top to bottom! It's the tires! No wear on them, just very noisy! I have had them balanced as needed. I will not purchase any more.

Cooper CS4 touring tires - I researched these tires and car, and driver recommended them as the smoothest riding tires on the market. These tires from the start were noisy and rode like they had a bubble on the tread. I have gotten 40,000 plus for wear, but they are not a smooth ride. If you expect a touring tire to give you a smooth ride, these will not. I will never buy Cooper tires again.

On Saturday, June 22, 2013, I was on I-81 in PA. At 65mph, the rear tire separated but luckily didn't deflate. The tread that was flapping in the breeze did extensive damage to my truck bed. Luckily, I had just rotated the tires from the front to the back or it could have been worse. The tires were Dakota Infinity's. I'll never use any tires made by Cooper again. The reviews seem to show that they don't care about the customer, only their bottom line...

Had a leak in one of my tires (that was under warranty) so I went into Cooper Tires in Williams, Arizona, just to catch A LOT of grief from one of the employees telling me he's not working on it because he hates dealing with warranty companies over the phone because they're too much of a hassle. That's even after telling him I would call them and deal with them on the phone myself. He told me no, that I could take it in to Flagstaff (about another 30-40 miles away) myself. When I tried telling him I don't think the car would make it that far, he just looked over at another employee and said, "Well, I don't feel like dealing with it. Do you?" The other employee gladly said yes, he would.
Even though I found out the tire could not be fixed, I would NEVER come back to this Cooper Tires company in Williams, AZ, or recommend their RUDE, IGNORANT ATTITUDE with A LOT of foul language customer care service to anyone! What a BIGGER hassle listening and trying to get them to look at my tire than the warranty company!

I bought a used 2005 Toyota Sequoia Limited in 2008 from a Mercedes dealer in Columbia, SC. Great buy and vehicle was a one-owner, well-kept. It had a set of Cooper tires on it I believe to be the AT/3's and looking like they needed to be replaced soon. The vehicle had 57k miles on it. So before my wife and I headed to the coast, I had a set of Cooper Discoverer CTS which were their premium SUV tire with an astounding 70k mile warranty claim.
Now let me caveat a few things... I always have my Toyotas serviced on time, and with every service (5k miles), I get tires rotated and I keep an eye on inflation. So with these new tires, it was no different. Let me say this... great ride and comfort, and no noise. But now at the writing of this review, I have 98k on my Sequoia and the tires are wearing evenly but near the tread wear indicator! 30k miles and near done, folks! If I had gotten 55k to 60k I would not be as upset, but 30k is NOWHERE near 70k miles! Needles to say, the best tire I had ever put on an SUV were a set of Kelly Safari Signatures on my 4Runner! The Sequoia is getting a set of those next because Cooper is just not a tire that gets anywhere near their rated mileage!

I have 4 Definity 265-65-15 tires on my '97 Dodge pickup. One tire on the front separated but did not go flat. I felt the bump while driving. I took it to Pep Boys where I bought them after taking it off the truck and putting on the spare. They pro-rated it as it only had a little over 20k miles on it and it's a 60k tire. I told them I felt that another of the tires was bad because I could feel the bump while driving. They examined them and said they could find nothing. Then, while traveling on I-10 at 65 mph, the suspect tire blew and wasted the truck bed all around the tire. I'm about to find out if they'll do anything about it. I've used these same tires a couple of times and have been happy with them, though they won't last 60k miles. They're not very expensive tires so I don't expect too much out of them, but they shouldn't blow up after 25k miles either! Definity is made by Cooper and sold by Pep Boys.

After 20 plus years of loyal service, I can't get a set of tires adjusted that just made it to 30,000 miles when they had a warranty to 50,000. My dealer even has had problems getting help for his customers. The woman who works for customer relations, Pam, is a downright hateful **. All I want is an adjustment for a new set of tires or I did. The last set of Coopers came apart and did $2,000.00 in body damage to my truck bed.

Excellent winter tire - Cooper Weather Master. Usually get two years driving out of them - average about 20K miles per year. AWD Subaru never stuck in 20+ years. They last longer than the Blizack with comparable traction. Never missed work for bad roads. Older name was Winter Master. Mastercraft has the same tread design, but not the same mileage however.
