Constant issues with billing and prescriptions getting filled. Will no longer use them for future meds.
Reviewed April 13, 2026
This by far is the most This by far is the most exasperatingly incompetent, relentlessly ignorant prescription service in existence! There is always an issue when I try to get my prescriptions, this has been ongoing for literally four years! If I do a refill, my rxs often get put pn hold for no apparent reason. Do they call, text, or email me? No., they do not. I find out when after a few days they weren't sent by going onto the app and finding out there's a problem on their end and have to wind up calling them, furthering a delay in shipping.
I literally hate talking to anyone with this service, nothing ever get remedied so it doesn't happen again. Same bs month after month!! I take thyroid medicine twice a day, have for 8 years, yes 8 years, every time these are sent in by my doctor, theres is another hold up. I know it's not normal to take thyroid meds 2x a day but that's the only way I can keep it in my system to help. My body burns through it too quickly. Mind you they've been filling my rx for 4 years now and I still run into this issue, every single time!! Why can't they flag their system that this is the way its prescribed and review their records on me?? They can sure flag everything else, why not flag something this important and just fill them?
I shouldn't have to think about meds and get on their app every single day to check if they're doing their jobs, I don't get paid to do their jobs!! They try to advocate for cheaper meds too. They do not know my medical history, nor do they need too. They try to say well we won't pay for this have your doctor prescribe this, we pay for this one. We'll, if I could have taken that one I'm sure my doctor would have prescribed it for me but she decides what's best for me based on my medical history. I told them the are not MD and have no authority to say what's best for me. They are trying to practice medicine without a license and that is unacceptable.
Don't even get me started on the app. I have a cap amount I allow to be taken out for payment. When I get on the app and try to order my meds and if it exceeds the preset amount it asks if it's okay to place the order and charge over my preset amount, I click the confirm button expressing my consent. Then it gets put on hold and I have to call in anyway!! What's the point to this?? Notifications about refills often are generated through their system at times too early to fill a rx, this flags the account causing another delay, go figure!! Then I have to call them again!! I mean am I supposed to be psychic and just know the date I can fill them, thought that's the reason for notifications? Omg don't even let me get started on the Accredo specialty pharmacy, they're even worse!!
This is by far the most bs I've ever dealt with. I'd appreciate it if someone would call me that can actually do something to actually change this utterly blatant bs that never gets rectified, I mean 4 years is a long ** time for their continuous screw ups. This gets my BP up, just no prescription service in existence! This gets my BP up just thinking anout them. They do more harm than good, at this point!

Worst prescription company ever!! Delays in prescription, unauthorized credit card payments when you are on a payment plan...I wish I could just never use them! I've made several complaints but this is the plan our HR picked. I would give it zero stars but it won't allow it.

My doctor changed my prescription from 1 pill a day to 2 pills a day. My doctor and I spent hours and hours on the phone with them. It started on March 9. They kept canceling my prescription orders 5 times, which took us to April 10. So now my doctor just changed to another kind but my cost is now $145.00 for 90 days, and I was paying nothing. Customer service is terrible; no one can answer your question. Nothing ever gets solved.

I have updated my review as a result of Express reaching out to me, researching my issue with the medication I received and resolving my issue with me. I would have provided four stars if our interactions had resulted in a change in business practices which would ensure heat-sensitive medications would be packaged and shipped in a manner to keep these medications from reaching high temperatures.
Express Scripts also was supportive to me by offering me the opportunity to speak with one of their pharmacists about the experience I had using the heat-damaged product. I appreciated their prompt response and support.

Absolutely worst company I have ever dealt with for prescriptions. I have had many substandard service interactions with this company. I am now deciding I'm going to let everyone know about it. Two specific incidents were just within the last 12 months. If you have a prescription that is heat-sensitive, common sense says you should ship it with ice packs or something similar.
I live in Florida and this company repeatedly sends my heat-sensitive items without cold packs, and the medications get ruined. The worst part is they won't refund your money, they won't pull off the claim against your insurance, so now you're left with the situation where your insurance will not provide you the full amount of coverage for the medical prescription you lost. Second issue was recently again, where another prescription was sent to them, and I went online to cancel it. They only allow you to pause the prescription. I contacted the company and lost contact with them on the phone.
When I called them back, even though I had indicated I wanted to pause the prescription. They went ahead and sent it anyways. They are more expensive than dealing with your local pharmacy such as Walgreens. Definitely not worth your time, your insurance claims, or all the issues. They have never improved on customer service and I don't think they even read these reviews. If they do, the standard answer would probably be call us and we'll make it right. Then when you call them and wait in an ordinary amount of time, they say, "Sorry, there's nothing we can do for you," so it's just this vicious cycle of appearing to be customer service oriented.

I went to the Doctor, because they insisted on seeing me for a new prescription for Malaria pills for going overseas. That was on 27 March, and they sent the prescription to Express Scripts, which I went online and verified it was in progress that day. Fast forward to 6 April, went online and still in progress, so I called them, to find out what is going on, they told me it was held up for some type of verification, which only took a day (their words) and was stuck in progress. I told them I needed it by the 10 April and they would expedite it. Come today, I receive e-mail from Post Office it will get here 11 April, so I called Express Scripts again, they told me it had already shipped before they could expedite it. I am going to call them out for not tell the truth.

I had a very frustrating experience with Express Scripts. My pharmacy coverage changed without clear communication, and I was told at the pharmacy that my medication wasn’t covered. I had to pay out of pocket. After calling Express Scripts, the issue was “fixed,” but when I submitted a reimbursement claim, it was denied with a generic “refill too soon” explanation that didn’t apply to my situation. I was then sent in circles with letters instead of getting a straightforward resolution. This process felt unnecessarily complicated for a simple reimbursement, and the lack of clear communication and accountability was disappointing.

My doctor prescribed Mounjaro for me due to rising blood sugar levels. Sure enough, it brought my levels way down and so now Express Scripts will no longer cover it. My blood sugar went down BECAUSE I was taking mounjaro and will now go back up. I don’t understand how a prescription drug service can deny coverage for a drug my doctor says I need and the drug proved it works for me. I’m still paying the same amount each month for my prescription drug coverage, but can no longer get one of the drugs I need.
My coverage states that express scripts covers GLP1 drugs, but evidently that’s on paper only. In reality they get around that that by requiring prior authorizations and then denying that authorization. Again, I’m still paying the same amount for my policy, but I’m not able to access a much needed drug. I fully understand that GLP1 drugs have had a ridiculous price increase, but that should be taken up with drug companies, not by denying coverage for customers. Healthcare is supposed to be preventative, rather than spending more to try and correct problems that arise later. It’s just plain wrong.

My meds have always been cheaper at Express Scripts. The total for my two meds in Jan. 2026 was $5.50. I have them on auto refill and express scrips doesn't show pricing until they ship. So I am now owing $47.50 for the same two meds in April of 2026 with no notice of such a huge price change. The thing is that I could have gotten the same meds locally for about $10. This is shady. I get changing by a few dollars but this is ridiculous and they should have given me a heads up.

This is by far the most incompetent, uncaring pharmaceutical company I have ever dealt with. I've been prescribed generic Humera for psoriasis arthritis for 15 years, and dealing with Express Scripts is a losing battle on every level. My medication is frequently late by weeks, and as of late, canceled completely on 2 occasions without cause. Interacting with their representatives is like trying to deal with a kindergarten child. I've been told such childish things like, "sometimes we accept your coverage, and sometimes we don't". When I asked them to explain exactly what that means, it was rebutted with, "Would you like to speak with a supervisor"? NO, I simply want my prescription filled as it was for 15 years and don't need a supervisor to answer that question. I was told I would receive a call in a couple of days to apprise me when my medication would ship.
Heard nothing for 2 weeks, so called again only to receive the same response as the first response all over again. It became clearly evident that I was simply being read their formal BS teleprompter response, which was 100% worthless. As a result of their uncaring stance, I am now forced to fight daily for something that I am 100% insured for and is vital for my well-being. Bottom line, avoid Express Scripts completely; they are an incompetent, worthless, and a detriment to anyone in need of their vital medications. Seek out any other pharmaceutical company other than Express Scripts, you will have nothing to lose because nothing can be worse than them. I have given them a rating of one star just so I can post this review, and would have given them zero stars if I could.

I am writing to formally express my frustration and concern regarding the handling of my prescription order during the month of March. During the first few months, everything worked well. However, on March 16, I called to check if everything was okay with my medication shipment, the order was put on March 12. The representative I spoke with assured me that everything was fine. Immediately after I ended that call, I received an email stating that my order had been canceled, without any explanation or prior notice.
I firmly believe the cancellation was done by the representative I spoke with, especially since I had previously mentioned concerns about communication regarding shipment timing. Despite this, no one has taken responsibility, and I have received conflicting information each time I call. On March 16, I called again and was told my doctor needed to call to resend the prescription. My doctor had already sent it on March 12. Since my doctor does not work Mondays, I had to wait until the next day to request follow-up. I was later told there was a “system error,” and the prescription was resent.
By this time, I was already running very low on my medication. On March 20, I called again and was told the prescription had just been received. However, when I spoke with a pharmacist, I was told it had actually been received on March 18 and that I should expect it the following week. I was advised to ask my doctor for a short-term prescription to avoid running out. My doctor instead sent a prescription to a local pharmacy, but unfortunately, the medication was not available there either. This left me without any supply.
After multiple calls and follow-ups, my doctor resent the prescription again. As of today, March 31, I have been without my medication for an extended period due to delays, miscommunication, and what appears to be an unnecessary cancellation. When I called today, I was told there is a 7-business-day processing time, meaning I may not receive my medication until next week. This situation has now extended to nearly a full month without necessary medication.
As a veteran with a service-related injury, I rely on this medication for my daily quality of life. The lack of communication, accountability, and compassion from customer service has been deeply disappointing. I have also been told there is no way to track representatives or review call records, which raises serious concerns about accountability within your system.
I would like a clear explanation as to why my order was canceled on March 12, and what steps will be taken to ensure this does not happen again. I also request that my case be handled with urgency moving forward, as this delay has already significantly impacted my health and well-being. This system is meant to support patients, not create additional hardship. I hope this issue will be taken seriously and addressed appropriately.V/r

I felt like I was in purgatory dealing with these people. Was trying to get a prescription for months and they kept me in some crazy cycle about how the quantity wasn't being displayed right. The doctor would fix it and re-send it and they just kept denying it over and over even though it was sent as a 90 day supply like they asked. What a joke. Called them 6 times and just kept getting thrown back in the loop. Switched to Amazon RX and had my RX the same day, while I was waiting months from "Express" Scripts. How are they still in business?

Updated on 03/28/2026: What a joke!!!! I wrote my review on Express Scripts just last night!!! They already answered it!!! Now wouldn’t it be nice if they could fill my medication and deliver it just as quickly? But they can’t, they won’t!!!! I have never in my life had to deal w such utter incompetence!!!! And here’s the proof: I tried to respond to their response, and it was blocked! And I was signed into google!! Who leaves a response, tells you how sorry they are, and how they want to make it right, instructs you to leave a response containing my contact info so they can contact me, yet I am blocked from leaving any kind of response!! And they have all my contact info!!!!
I have unfortunately been using their lousy service for 13-14 months! So this is only one incident of their total incompetence!!! That is enough for me!!! If my medication is not in my mailbox today; I will be contacting the Board of Pharmacies on Monday, as well as the BBB of FL as well as my attorney! And so they cannot say I didn’t respond, well, here it is!!! What kind of idiot would even ask me to leave my contact info on a public site!!! And the private message feature, didn’t not let me send a private message either!!! That is how I know they are full of crap!!!! They never wanted a response!! So they blocked me from sending a private message as well!!!!
Do yourself a favor folks, do not, and I repeat, DO NOT use Express Scripts for any of your pharmaceutical needs! And in case my original review and this here response, do not carry my name, I will leave that!! That is all they need to contact me as they have all my INFO!!! I have had to do business w this lousy company for over a yr!!! Problem is, the people that fill your scripts, are not the same people that read these reviews! They probably are not even located in the same bldg. Ergo why I was asked to leave my contact info! Is that just the epitome of laziness!! They can pick up the phone and call their own pharma and get my info!!!! And I’m not afraid to leave my name!! It is: Doris **. Use it to get my info!!!
While searching for the order number they are also now requesting before I can leave another review; I found in my email and updated delivery!!!! It had said it would be delivered Sat!!! Now they are saying Wed!!!! This is now well over a wk late!!!! And I will be in full blown withdrawal tomorrow evening because of this pharma!!! And they are going to have to pay for that!!!!
Original Review: Express Scripts is the very WORST pharma I ever had to deal with!!!! I was on the phone for 3hrs today! No help!! Not only is my prescription late, they lost it!!! It says it has been in pre shopping for 3 whole days!! No explanation, no resolution!!! This medication is one of 2 class 2 medications I receive! They were supposed to marry both these invoices so they would come at the same time! They managed to accomplish that last month, this month, they are missing!! They received my scripts on 3/22!!!! So they can manage to deliver my other one, late, but this one still in pre-shopping after 3 days? I went above everyone’s heads and got a manager! All he did was talk to my local Dr's office to try and get me meds till they are found. Nobody has called me about that either!!!
If I wasn’t forced indirectly by the DEA of FL, I would never, ever use this pharma again!! If any pharmacists read this and can help, please post your pharma! I am a 63 yr old woman, disabled and I have 4th stg cancer on top of it! It is 3 on a Friday! Nobody called!!! I will wind up in the ER tomorrow w/severe withdrawal!! All because of express scripts!!! And this isn’t the first time!! This 13 months of continuous, grievous mistakes!!! Do yourself a favor, don’t order from them! Save yourself!! I have at least 5 hrs of calls to them every month! And they outright lie to you to cover up their incompetence!!!

Today I called Express Scripts as I learned a two month delay in a prescribed infusion was due to a lack of insurance authorization. ES is our pharmacy provider. I found one can no longer talk with a human being at Express Scripts! A machine told me three times I had no authorizations pending, then hung up on me! The entire time, I was punching 0 and saying, "Talk with representative." No luck. Now it is just AI. Eventually I found help with our secondary health insurance carrier, no thanks to Express Scripts.

I don't usually write reviews but feel compelled because this is the worst pharmacy I have ever experienced. First of all, my medications were shipped and billed without my authorization. I spoke to an agent to get set up with my account and was informed that when my prescriptions were received that I have have an opportunity to review the price and submit an order. This was not the case. As soon as the information was received they were sent to me without reaching out for authorization. This wouldn't have been a serious issue if the price gouging wasn't so egregious. I take a medication that I can get for $8 face value with no insurance. The price at Express Scripts with insurance was $260. Charging 32 times the cost of others and shipping without authorization is disgusting. No one should ever use this pharmacy.

The company my Husband worked for sold to corporate and that means our insurance switched to BCBS of Minnesota. For some reason they don’t handle prescriptions for us and we have to use Ever North Express Scripts for prescriptions. While switching over my Qulitpa to express scripts they denied me filling it at any local pharmacies. Unless it was a one time thing. If I continued to fill at Walmart they were going to charge me fines. So I had no choice but to switch over to their mailing service. Once I did that, then they denied the fill again. So I called in, now it can only be a 90 day supply. Which means I had to make another doctor appointment to jump through all their hoops with my doctor at my side just to get a 90 day fill with refills every 90 days. They covered the medication fully for two fills. Now….. it’s going to be 225$ each full because now I have to meet a new deductible for meds.
Every single time I have tried to fill this medication I have had to call in because it’s either cancelled or delayed. I have yet to receive my medication on time once!!! This is an ongoing service failure on their part. Their app doesn’t let you do much editing to your account or fix issues yourself. You have to call in. This is so frustrating dealing with them! Plus their price for Qulitpa is double than Walmart's pricing and since they will only let me do 90day fills my out of pocket expense is the highest it’s ever been. I absolutely hate using them! If you can avoid it do! They are a headache with a million hoops you have to jump through every single fill!

I have be stable on for 18 years and already self tapered to be in compliance of guidelines that are not based on medical evidence. A one size fits all box is harmful. Discriminating against disabled patient's needs! Shame on express scripts for abandoning me & shame on the DEA for intimidating pharmacies & doctors. Was then told by Express Scripts that any pharmacy in my network could fill it. Knowing full well that wasn't the case, I went ahead and had it sent to a local pharmacy. What do you know, CVS can't fill it, and their specialty pharmacy isn't under contract with Express Scripts. Leads me back to more incompetent people at Express Scripts. My plan requires that I use Express Scripts mail order with a 90 prescription which was working fine until they stopped carrying the asthma inhaler I was using (which was 60 doses per inhaler). They would not let me get 2 inhalers because it would equal 120 which is over a 90 day supply and if I just got 1 inhaler (only 60 day supply) I would be penalized, making the inhaler $250. It took me 2 weeks, talking to 5 CS reps and 2 supervisors, and having my doctor write the prescription 5 different times before getting this resolved.
I went to the pharmacy 3 times, I even called them to make sure that the prescription was correct before I went and they said it was good to go and guess what? It was wrong each time. Now they are saying it's good to go again and the supervisor called the pharmacy while I was on the phone to verify. After my doctor resent the order and I called them, they finally stated they would process it, 5 weeks later, I’m still waiting. They said my AccuCheck Guideme diabetes test strips are no longer covered by insurance. They said True Metrix is. Someone from their staff told my physician's office that there wouldn't be a charge for these, and I could get a FREE True Metrix Glucose Meter to use the new strips. Ok fine. Didn't really want a new meter, but if the coverage would now be 100%, why not. Turns out that was a lie. Instead, Express Scripts charged me $40 for 100 strips. The same 100 strips can be purchased directly from Amazon for $26.35. (Note: Prescriptions are not necessary to glucose meters/strips--I have the doctor write the order thinking that I would save money on them since I PAY for insurance). Express Scripts charged me $28.77 for the meter. I can buy over the counter a True Metrix Blood Glucose meter from Walmart for $14.98. When the new meter and strips show up, they will be returned with snapshots of the RETAIL price.
If they want me to pay MORE than the retail price, are they also billing the insurance in addition? I am forced to get my 90-day medications through these criminals. They won't cover it if I don't. I can get 90 days of synthroid via Walmart (with or without insurance) for $10. Express Scripts is $20 for 90 days. Express Scripts won't pay for 90 day medications at WalMart. They really want you to get all your pharmacy needs through them. When I did some checking, I am seeing plenty of bad reviews on this company and they are facing significant legal action in 2026. Guess I am better off paying for my glucose test strips without going through insurance. Must be why they said they are not covering Accu Check strips anymore...this way they can swindle me out of more money than retail price! I hope the courts throw the book at this shady company! We have enough scammers/criminals in the world and we don't need another!

No one can tell me why and when I ask for information listed in the denial letter I may as well be speaking another language because no one can ever give me a straight answer.
The appeal process is built to ensure people get frustrated and give up. I’ve been sent to my medical provider, my benefits provider, and every time I’m told to go back to Express Scripts but they never have answers. I have to have called more than 50 times at this point and each time I just get more and more frustrated and disheartened. Express Scripts shouldn’t have the power to deny someone medication prescribed by a medical professional, especially when they previously covered it.

In November, 2026, after my partner had a terrible experience with Express Scripts and rude customer service. I called to discontinue. The first representative told me that she would discontinue my medications, but I waited and waited and, then, realized she hung up on me. I called back and the second representative heard me out and empathized with my frustration. He discontinued and outlined their own process for transferring my medications to another pharmacy. However, this month, Express Scripts began filling prescriptions again, prescriptions that I already have with another pharmacy. They also wanted to charge me $50.00 for medications I just filled at the other pharmacy. I called and the first representative immediately threatened to send me to collections if I do not pay.
As a customer for years previously, I always paid for my prescriptions. For Express Scripts to threaten me through one of their representatives immediately was astonishing. I was shocked. I informed the representative that I wanted to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor was respectful and was moderately helpful in resolving some of the issue. She offered to discount the payment to half. I agreed to pay the $25.00. While I was not thrilled with paying twice for the same prescriptions from two different pharmacies, at least she gave me a discount. However, the fact that their first response was to threaten me with sending me to collections over $50.00 for medication that I a) have not yet received and was trying to cancel and b) that I already had filled at another pharmacy was just unprofessional and vindictive.

We've used Express Scripts for over 20 years and never had a problem until the last 6 months. Seems to be the EverNorth combination when things fell apart. Now we can't get our medications filled and they just say "delayed" without any promise of a date so we have to keep getting our scripts from Walgreens. It's many of our scripts for our family...not just one medicine. I'm very disappointed and wish I knew what was going on.

My wife requires a specific medication for her migraines, a medication she has been on for quite some time. Recently, I changed employers and ended up with Express Scripts as our new pharmacy plan. We have been on their plan before and was less than impressed, but we thought that maybe it had improved. Boy were we wrong. Her medication still have refills left from the previous prescription, so we tried to transfer the script to a pharmacy that is within the plan. That is when we learned that the medication now required a preauthorization before Express Scripts would fill it. Now it is 2 weeks off the medication, the migraines have returned and the company is claiming they still have time to review the prescription, even though they have had it for 3 days already.

Updated on 05/07/2026: They finally delivered my prescription after all these delays and issues causing me to miss 2 months of medication. Now I need a refill and they have suddenly jacked the price way up for the same generic medication, strength and quantity. This is the mail order pharmacy through my insurance. I went into the insurance relying on the prices stated before signing up. Now I'm locked in to an insurance for the rest of the year while their pharmacy, Express Scripts, is allowed to increase the price significantly. Express Scripts also will send out a prescription before billing you then just send you an invoice so it's a good thing I noticed they had jacked the price way up. I don't know how all of this could be anything but a scam. They do everything they can to prevent you from receiving medication. They obviously read reviews here. Note they didn't respond to mine, instead they just jacked the price way up.
Original Review: This pharmacy seems to be a scam. I've had nothing but lies and delays from them. They cancelled my prescription claiming they couldn't reach my doctor. Doctor tells me they were never contacted by them. Prescription sent again. Received prior auth approval. Delayed again. Called to ask why. They claim they need "clarification" on the quantity, strength and instructions. I can see in my doctor's dashboard that they sent all that in the prescription.
Express Scripts tried to claim that what I'm seeing is different from what they received, so basically they are trying to claim that somehow the prescription was changed during the electronic transmission which of course is impossible. Then they said they need "verbal clarification" so my doctor needs to call a number. I asked several time why the electronically sent prescription was not adequate when every other pharmacy accepts it. They told me the doctor could send a other one. So of course I asked why the one they already sent wasn't adequate and they told me the doctor has to call the "verbal clarification line". I have never heard of anything so ridiculous as this.
It shouldn't be this difficult to get this medication. I don't think this is a real pharmacy, it's a scam owned and run by Cigna in order to prevent paying for your medication. The customer service reps are nice but they have no authority or information. They are using these people as a wall to prevent doing anything. When I tell them I'm out of medication for weeks due to their constant unnecessary delays they say would you like to speak to the pharmacist about the consequences of being without your medication? No, I would like you to stop the lies and delays and send the medication. This place has got to be a scam. No other pharmacy in the world operates like this. This site I'm leaving this review wants me to verify with a receipt but I can't do that because this so-called pharmacy never sends the medication..

Let me preface this with the information that I have past work experience as a tech in a mail order pharmacy, and I currently work as a medical receptionist. I'm intricately familiar with this system, the reasons prescriptions can get delayed, and what steps I can take as a patient to try and prevent issues. The problems I encountered were not "user error". Express Scripts is just uniquely bad at what they do.
This (unfortunately) appears to be the only mail order pharmacy covered by my new insurance plan. The last one was wonderful; I used it for years and never had an issue. I had to switch because my insurance changed. I've only tried to have three prescriptions filled with Express Scripts, and somehow they managed to royally screw me over on all three.
Again, I'm familiar with this system on a professional level. I'm an organized guy. I know how to track my refills and request them with enough time for both my doctor's office and my pharmacy to process everything before I run out. My refills usually arrive with time to spare, or so was the case with my last pharmacy. NONE of my prescriptions with Express Scripts have arrived on time despite my requests being sent weeks in advance. I've run out of different medications three times now, the consequences of missing each ranging from mood instability to actual physical pain. And it's not an issue on my doctor's end; they get the scripts written and sent to Express Scripts within a couple days. So why is it that Express Scripts takes ages to process and ship a simple refill?
Their prices are also unhinged. They give you an option to set a charge limit to any card on file, but the MINIMUM the let you set is $100. You're better making sure they just don't ever retain a card on file to charge, but if you do set a minimum, don't expect them to bother to notify you if/when they need you to confirm the charge before processing your prescription. Do they have your phone number and your email on file? Yup! Will they use that information to let you know when action is needed on your end? Apparently never.
I only found out my prescription needed me to confirm a $105 charge (yes, WITH insurance. Also this prescription costs $5-10 dollars at every other pharmacy, $20 at most, but Express Scripts wants me to fork over $105 for the privilege of having it delayed without any notification) anyway, I only found out about this delay when I was forced to sign into my account to grab the tracking number for another order that I needed to schedule for redelivery.
Why did the other order need redelivery, you ask? Well, they'd required my signature for it of course, without bothering to informing me of that requirement. So after TWO WEEKS of processing, it was finally shipped and reached my doorstep in the middle of a workday. Two days after I'd already run out of that medication, by the way. But with no one home to sign for it, the post office left me a lovely little "we tried" note. I've been on this medication for a decade. I've had it delivered by my last mail order pharmacy for YEARS and not once have I needed to sign for it until now. I can only assume that's Express Script's company policy for some reason, which would have been fine if 1) they didn't take two full weeks to process the fill and 2) there was some way to request delivery on specific days so I could, oh I don't know, BE THERE.
So not only are my prescriptions an order of magnitude more expensive at Express Scripts than anywhere else, they also take twice as long to process and come with zero attempts to notify me when there's an issue. Don't even get me started on their customer service response times. Their message center has the standard "we usually respond in 24 hours, up to 72" or something along those lines. You can expect a minimum of 48 hours, and that's if you're lucky. The only real way to get anything resolved in a timely manner is to call them, and even then you might be out of luck (as was I).
With Express Scripts, you'll have to make sure you request your refills at least three weeks in advance if you don't want to run out of your medications. You get to roll the dice and hope your meds get delivered when you happen to be home, otherwise you'll get to play a game of tag with the post office. There is an astounding lack of communication if/when anything goes wrong with your order. And you'll pay wildly more than any other pharmacy for the privilege. Personally, I don't see the appeal.

The second representative refused the credit and insisted I was still responsible for the full cost. When I said I wasn’t paying for something I didn’t authorize, she suddenly changed her position and said I could “keep the inhalers” but they would split the cost. I told her I simply wanted to return them. She still refused to give me return instructions, and as of today, I have not received a credit.
This entire experience has been frustrating and unacceptable. Automatic refills should not be pushed through on outdated prescriptions, and customers should not be given conflicting information or denied a return on unused, unopened medication.

My initial payment wasn't accepted the first time around resulting in another day or two delay. As of today the 29th of Jan., It still being "processed"... Since the 21st, that is 8 days. I call the 26th to find out what was the hold up and was, only to be told they don't ship on Fridays, even though I paid on a Wednesday, but was assured I'd have it by today, the 29th. Nothing,..

So I said I won't get it until late next week then, reminding her that she told me they don't ship on Fridays. She said it would go out today but it's 4pm. I'm not holding my breath. Optum with United only took 3 or 4 days from the day the order initiated to sitting on my door step. First I was cut off by their phone tree robot. When I called back, I was able to connect with someone, and they told me they'd fixed the problem. Called Walgreens. Problem not fixed. Next I tried the online chat at the Express Scripts website. Unbelievably, the website isn't smart enough to not time out while the user is using the chat function, so I was logged out and cut off before getting to a solution. Tried again, and poked at the website the entire time I was in the chat so that I wouldn't be logged out. Finally the rep told me that Walgreens had to call a special phone number to get an override and fill the prescription.
All of this took about an hour of my time, and I can't tell to what purpose. If my doctor thought it was fine for me to get a refill, then why on earth does a pharmacy benefit management company get to decide otherwise? This entire hassle was for a bottle of eye drops, not some scary controlled drug, and I'm paying for most of anyway ($21 medication, $14 co-pay). My insurance company doesn't require I use Express Scripts as my pharmacy (thank God) but for some reason they use Express Scripts as the middle man between my Doctor and the Pharmacy. This isn't a value added step so I believe it's a screw the patient ** move. This is what I believe that Express Scripts is intentionally complicating the process so that I will go without the prescription (I've missed multiple doses) and they won't have to shell out money. I think Express Scripts hope I'm too sick that I'll give up and I nearly did.
Original Review: I have been on two prescriptions for many years. Starting last year, Express Scripts starting reviewing the medications and decided to require a prior authorization. As far as I can tell they didn't tell my doctor this and I only found out when my pharmacy called to let me know. I always fill my prescriptions about two weeks in advance in case of delay. The first one took close to three weeks of calling my doctor's office, the pharmacy, and Express Scripts before the prescription was authorized. I'm now going on three weeks with my most recent prescription. This is crazy. My view is that Express Scripts is intentionally trying avoid paying for the medications in order to make more money. The only positive is that so far the customer service reps have been awesome. I can't imagine working for such a horrible company.

I called Express Scripts to inquire why my prescription went from $24.99 per month to $225. While the customer service rep was pleasant, she talked in circles and never gave me an answer. The portion of my income that I pay monthly has increased of course but I can't understand the amount they are charging now for the exact same medication. I can no longer afford it, so what are we supposed to do? This company doesn't care if you get your medication or not. It is the worst prescription monitoring company I have ever worked with.

So I called the number because I was going to run out before my medication would arrive. The person I talked to was not concerned at all about me running out of my medication. She sounded like she could give two rats butts that I was going to run out of my medicine and offered no solution for the problem. So if they are not going to offer a solution for the issue, why bother sending the text message. This is straight-up bull.

When I ask them to explain what the rejection code means, their English is so lousy they cannot. They also cannot say what needs to be done to fill the order. I was told by an Express Scripts pharmacist they will fill my medication with any generic manufacturer brand available as long as my doctor does not specify a certain manufacturer on the script. I told my doctor this at my appt the next day, and my doctor sent the script in with no manufacturer specified as directed. Express Scripts then cancelled my RX the next day without informing me, stating they were "out of stock." When I called I was informed it was cancelled, another pharmacist was brought on the line, and this pharmacist said 2 different manufacturer brands were available, but my doctor has to specify the manufacturer on the script. This is different than what the pharmacist 2 days prior told me.
I was told by the rep that Express Scripts tried to contact me but I had no missed call and no voicemail. It also takes 3 business days for my doctor to write a new RX using the online portal request, as many family medicine practices are very busy. This was my first time trying to use Express Scripts and overall a disappointment, and they have delayed my medication even further.

The communication with this company is the worst. Their website platform is never updated, it only ever says "check back the next morning for updates", and when you check back the next morning it never says anything different. When I call the support number, the automated system tells me new information about my account that isn't on the website and then when I speak to a representative I receive even different information still! It's impossible to know what information is the most accurate and up to date.
I had to call 5 times to finally get any real information about why my prescription fill was being delayed. The second time I called, a previous representative assured me that they were doing everything to get my prescription to me in a timely manner, then two days later, I make another. My 5th phone call because the website never updated with any real information, and I find out they can't fill the prescription in time at all and expect me do the work to figure out why with my doctor's office. If I had not called myself, no one would have ever informed me via email, call or text message to tell me there was an issue and I would have missed out on taking my medication.
This was my first try at using this company for home delivery and I was incredible disappointed with the communication and service. I thought home delivery was supposed to be easier than picking up locally, but it was a million times more complicated. I want nothing to do with this company anymore, I'd rather give my local pharmacy the business anyways.

Express Scripts is a terrible company. They are in the business of denying access to medicine. In one case I went through all the appeal hoops and they conceded it was medically necessary but still denied it because it was expensive. This whole last week I have been spending hours trying to get another prescription covered. They denied it initially because they wanted me to try a cheaper medicine. My Dr re-wrote the prescription for the cheaper medicine and guess what they won't cover the medicine they told me to try first either. So I wasted hours of my time and can't get care. The Feds and State authorities should investigate them.

I was very recently told by one of these reps that a Rx my doctor had ordered was not on the formulary for Express Scripts ,therefore I needed to purchase it out of pocket. I arrived at the pharmacy and was told my drug plan covered the medication and I just owed $9.00 for a 3 months supply. Come on now! How in the world do they think it got changed without them receiving the prescription? Either they feel they can change my amount I get on a prescription or they just take weeks and weeks to process it as a new prescription. Unbelievable! So either way they had it changed shows Dangerous consequences for the patients. They need not of course change the amount of a prescription, who knows all the. Bad effects of that. Or if they got the prescription and that changed the amount now I am kept waiting and waiting for the med help. How is that good? They need to not be in business.

My doctor filled out and sent in the prior authorization form. Let me back up. I've had coverage for 2 MONTHS AND EXPRESS HAS NOT NOTIFIED ME. NOT SENT ME CARDS, so I didn't know my coverage was available. Now moving forward, after calling several times for an update on my prior authorization, the young lady in the PA department put my status as emergency and 5 minutes after I got off the phone, I received an email saying my PA was denied.
I called Express Scripts and was told at first that my plan didn't cover WEGOVY. LIES. You can see my plan. Then I was told that I wasn't obese because my BMI wasn't 27 or more. You're right because it's 30. Then I was told I didn't have cardiovascular issues nor take meds for heart or stroke related diseases. But I take Losartan Hydrochlorothiazide, Rosuvastatin, Carvedilol and Eliquis. The last lie was that my doctor didn't answer a question right. The name “Express Scripts” is misleading. Thinking of all the adjectives one could use to describe this company and “express” isn’t one. I’ve spent 6+ hours in the past week attempting to assist a patient with his medication order. These meds have been prescribed and administered to him for 7 years. A case manager talked him into mail order scripts and now is without his meds. The employees at the call center are nice, yet incompetent. A phone call should not longer for 50+ minutes. Our call yesterday was one hour and 17 minutes. If anyone at Express Scripts would like to see my phone records as proof I’d be happy to oblige. We were shuffled from one department to the next and then the circle repeated itself.
The communication amongst departments is nonexistent. I will never advise a patient to use Express Scripts. If you love being on hold and being treated like a number this is the company for you. If you want your medications in a timely manner and the ability to speak to someone then go to your local pharmacy where you’ll be treated like a human. I have read the countless mind boggling reviews and I suggest you do the same before having your scripts sent to this company…
The nail in the coffin was hearing a conversation between the call center woman and someone in her vicinity. She asked how she could rush the caller off the phone due to her “time per call rate going down”. If they are in fact trying to answer the most calls possible and keep call times down they have failed as we spent hours, yet the problem has not been resolved. Express Scripts has made obtaining essential, long-term medications unnecessarily difficult, expensive, and stressful. Their mail-order system is slow and unreliable, with orders taking so long to process and ship that I have repeatedly been forced to go without medication. Despite this, they refuse to allow early refills to account for their own delays, creating predictable gaps in care. Over time, coverage for my medications has been reduced while prices have steadily increased. At one point, their required mail-order option cost twice as much as a 30-day supply picked up at a local pharmacy — a pricing structure that defies logic and transparency.
Every interaction I’ve had with Express Scripts has been negative. The system feels designed to discourage access to necessary medications rather than support patients who rely on them to function. For a company managing chronic and life-sustaining prescriptions, this level of indifference is unacceptable. I sincerely wish my employer would abandon Express Scripts and choose a pharmacy benefit manager that prioritizes patient care over bureaucratic obstacles and profit. The major issue I have is that they have decided that I do not need the total prescription of a medication I have been taking for 30 years - I can only get 23 out of 30 per month for some unknown reason - nothing has changed about the doctor or the prescription - yes, it is a Schedule IV controlled substance - as I mentioned I have been taking it without incident for 30 years...
I am in the process of filing a formal grievance with them and any boards that I can complain to - I'm sure they will say that this change was made by a doctor - which is generally a lie from any insurance company. Their customer service branch is either unwilling to look up why this change was made or too stupid to do so - I've talked to two separate people who have told me it is because it is a controlled substance - people sometimes need controlled substances to manage illnesses - that is why they are not illegal. Of course all new prescriptions will go to my local pharmacy from now on.

For example, if there is a change in a prescription, or I need a refill early because of travel, ExSc places unnecessary barriers between me and my medication. It's obvious this is an attempt to keep people from receiving more medication than necessary. But we are not just talking about controlled substances here. My doctor and I are currently dealing with an unnecessary delay of my blood pressure medication. And this sort of thing happens regularly.
I don't need Express Scripts to monitor me like a child. I am an adult person working with a qualified medical professional to address my healthcare needs. Express Scripts is a pharmacy. The role of a pharmacy is to fill the prescriptions a doctor sends. Here's an idea: JUST FILL THE PRESCRIPTIONS. Additionally, when I call them, I don't appreciate having to spend 10 minutes trying to convince a robot that I do actually, really and truly need to speak to a human being. If I could get what I needed online, I would. If I am taking the time to call, it is because I need to speak to a HUMAN BEING. When I ask for a representative, just put one on the phone!

This company is a joke. DO NOT USE THEM!!! My issue with them was several years ago. I know you are asking why I am doing a review now? A couple of days ago, they started blowing up my email, wanting me to sign up for their worthless program. Here is what happened to me.... They started bugging me to no end to sign up, so, I finally did. Then they wanted me to stop using the pharmacy I liked and wanted me to switch to one they used/preferred, which was NOT convenient for me. Then I placed an order for one month of my meds. They sent 3 months instead of one.
I called and they got crappy about it. Then, they told me that it would be best to go with having my meds sent to me through the mail. I thought it would be easier so I did. I told them, "All I am doing is signing up, NOT placing an order". So, what did they do?!?!?! They sent me another 3 months' worth of my meds. I was unhappy to say the least and called them. They were so unprofessional, I was shocked! I have NOT used them since that happened and NEVER will use them again. I set up a filter in my email this morning, which will put their emails in the right place. Try GOOD RX or any other option you have. DO NOT USE EXPRESS SCRIPTS!

I have many prescriptions. I spend way too much time on the phone with, first, their automated response system and, finally, their employees. ES sends medications way too often, and I get backlogs of the bottles. Even though I am highly educated, I am never able to accomplish what I need on its online site. Today, after requesting a supervisor and then requesting that person's supervisor (3rd rung up the ladder), I spoke with an employee who assisted me in clearing up a mountain of messes in my ES account. That call took 1 hour and 59 minutes. However, this afternoon I checked my mail and found that, although I am a 74-year-old female with arthritic hands with a request on file for easy-open bottle caps, I have been sent two bottles with child-guard caps. The call to report this took over 20 minutes, and I was told to take the bottles to a pharmacy to open for me. Express Scripts deserves less than a one-star review.

Later, the generic became too expensive, so they canceled me again, BUT this time they never contacted me. I waited AND waited for my meds which never showed up. I had to fight with them AND my insurance company to get these life-sustaining meds. I am now receiving my scripts through Walmart...again. Throughout the 3+ years of dealing with Express Scripts, I have been without meds for a total of 3 different times, each time varying in length from a few days to a few weeks, with little to no communication. Worst mail order pharmacy I have ever worked with. All employees are ignorant and incompetent. Do not trust anything that comes out of any employees mouth, including managers and supervisors. They refused to stop shipping on a medication I called to have stopped due to insurance issues. Needed the Rx delayed for 2 weeks but needed filled exactly 2 weeks later for the next 90 days. Was told to refuse the package from FedEx BY an Express Scripts employee. Refused the delivery, was sent back to Express Scripts and destroyed due to temperature control. I was told by a manager that the Rx should not have been returned but because it was, I could request a replacement as soon as package was received and processed.
Called back after package was returned - now am being told that Rx cannot be replaced AND claim cannot be reversed. I am missing 90-days worth of medication I will die without and can get ZERO help. No replacement, no reversed claim, am unable to refill for 90 days. They have not a care in the world. Mind you I have spent approximately 7 hours on the phone with Express Scripts over the last week. Oh, and to top this off I just waited 45 minutes on hold for another supervisor and I was hung up on by manager.

I have had to speak to a supervisor monthly to get my prescription sent to me and have had about enough of their Shady practices. I have never had it be so challenging to get a prescription filled until I started dealing with this company.
This month's debacle is for a medication they had no problem filling for the last few months for a month at a time but apparently this month was a problem so they canceled my prescription. The doctor submitted a new one but they didn't mark a box saying home delivery so they wouldn't send it again. It's been a week and I'm now going to be missing my dose because they still can't get their act together. Wish I did not have to use them. Unfortunately my work benefits requires me to use them. They will use any loophole they can to downgrade your 90 day supply to a 30 day supply. You can call and confirm that it is a 90 day supply, and then when you receive it it will only be a 30 day supply. They will require prior authorization for a medication, and then demand a patient level authorization for the same medication. Then they will request a cost override. I have had so many problems with Express Scripts, not only at my current place of employment, but at former jobs. Two of my previous employers that have used it dropped it after about a year. They have the worst customer service, and if you don’t use their mail prescription service, they only allow 30-day supplies of your prescription, not 3-month supplies like other prescription plans. If you forget to tell your doctor this, and they write a prescription for three months, it holds up your prescription from being filled. (See attached photo example) Then the doctor has to rewrite it for 30 days and resend it. It is such a hassle for the patient, and holds up getting your prescription when you need it.
I would use their mail-in prescription service if it was reliable; however, this is not the case. They often don’t have the prescription you need in stock, which causes a delay, or the mail service is delayed, and you never get your prescription on time. Also, their customer service is actually a third-party service that answers their calls. They don’t even work for Express Scripts and often can’t answer your questions.

I have met my out of pocket max, and time after time, Express Scripts has done everything they can to make things difficult for me. One medication my doctor has prescribed is 1 pill a day, and after deciding mid-year that they will no longer cover 30-day prescriptions, I waited multiple days to be able to contact my doctor to have them send in a 90-day Rx instead. Now to get the medication cost reduced from my pocket at the pharmacy register I have to use my Health Insurance along with the pharmaceutical company discount program.
3) I had to jump through 5 months of phone calls to get ExpressScripts to honor paying for a generic narcotic pain killer. I talked with a different representative each month (promising it will work next month), for 5 months, until one rep (bless her!) finally said to tell my Doctors office to file a patient pre-authorization and some secondary authorization; otherwise ExpressScripts wanted me on four 7day script orders when I've already been on the medication for over a year.

I have had multiple jobs use Express Scripts. I can't fault them for the insurance plan my employer chooses, or how much coverage my employer chooses. This rating is based upon their pharmacy/home delivery and their customer service. Their specialty pharmacy, Accredo, seems great. The mail order pharmacy is more expensive than my local Walmart pharmacy, despite them also being my insurance company. One might think your insurance company wants to keep more of your business, but one would be mistaken.
Their customer service is offshore. It took me several frustrating minutes to get to a representative, and when I did, I was all the more frustrated by their lack of understanding their own app or website. The rep, Lyka (I'm unsure of the correct spelling) kept telling me that I should have added a savings card online before my prescription was sent to them. I told her that there is no way of doing that and walked her through the app options, and asked her how exactly I could do that when it did not show up in my prescriptions list to do so. She argued, saying that it's the only way to use the savings card. I asked her how and she could not tell me. She said the prescriptions came to them yesterday, and I told her that while they came through yesterday, they did not show on my profile until this morning.
Then I asked for information regarding pricing breakdown to see if the savings card applied, because I cannot afford $1100 a month for one prescription. She told me to check my invoices. I explained that I did not have any invoices. She kept repeating herself but she could not tell me where I was supposed to find this information. When I asked to speak to another department or her supervisor, she told me there was no one else for me to speak to. After 40 minutes on the call, much of that on hold, I still got no answers. She also disconnected our call so I could not do the survey at the end.
In the end, after all of the scolding I got for not adding my prescription card online before the prescription was sent to them (seriously), she told me to call back tomorrow. I have since put in a transfer request for Walmart to pull these prescriptions over. Also, I do not have a "receipt" for these presentations because I cancelled them, but I uploaded that printout for admin review.

Express scripts is a disaster. Their continuous requirement to verify auto fill medications (especially ones that a person is taking for life) has resulted in numerous instances of running out of the prescription. Their billing system is also fraught with inefficiency with checks not being cashed for up to a month and then they just keep adding the charges to the balance for new orders while the checks are in limbo. This has resulted in overpayments or threats of collection services. Unfortunately my healthcare provider, a government agency, uses Express Scripts exclusively for long term medication. Medication showing as waiting for prescription 24 hours later on Sunday. I called back ExpressScripts again and they have no record of a prescription being received. CVS saying prescription was indeed sent. Monday contacted my doctor's office for a new prescription. They send it to Express Scripts right away.
Express Scripts had to be called multiple additional times to get it in process to upgrade the shipping and confirm shipping address. I am told it should ship right away. Following morning Tuesday, I get a notification that prescription has been cancelled. Turns out this is the prescription that was sent from CVS. Reportedly, has been escalated to fulfillment center. Nothing further able to be done and now out of the medication.

If you are a chronic pain patient taking tramadol, save yourself a lot of heartache and go some place else. Their policies on opioids are unreasonable. They will not dispense as written and require authorization from your doctor. One of the problems is they will not contact my doctor back. My physician's office has been trying for two weeks to contact these people. Nothing but crickets.
I take 2 50MG tablets up to every 6 hours. My doctor wrote the prescription for 120 tablets. Express Scripts would only let my local pharmacy give me 28 pills with a note stating these had to last at least a month or more nefore a refill. Do the math. Your best bet is to use a discount service and just bypass Express Scripts. I use **. I can get 120 tablets for about 15 bucks. And they said that person never did that so they did it. Then I get the notice about being delayed. They said it would take up 5 to 7 days to receive it. Well I was literally out the next day.
This is something you do not play with you. End up in the hospital immediately if you don't switch this patch on the exact time. I was faith in dealing with your company. I used Express Scripts for a few years without incident. Then, my pain meds went missing. Express Scripts’ tracking shows it was “shipped” whereas USPS’ tracking shows they never received the package. The first time I called Express Scripts they told me I needed to wait 30 days before they could send a refill. This policy was confirmed by a supervisor, so I guess I was supposed to put my pain on hold. When I called back after 30 days they told me there was nothing they could do (again) and to contact USPS. Of course, USPS said they never received the package, so they couldn’t help me.
After waiting almost 6 weeks, I just received my meds but my credit card was charged twice. When I called about the duplicate charge, Express Scripts finally conceded they owe me a refund but said, IF APPROVED, I can only get an account credit based on their policy. I’m still waiting for my approval. If Tricare for Life offered another option for home delivery, I would never do business with Express Scripts again. It’s too bad seniors are saddled with such an inept provider and have to endure horrible customer service in order to afford their medications.

I've been fighting over a charge for a $381.03, an amount I did not approve of. Once they ship a medication, even if you don't open the bottle, they will not take it back. I guess understand why, however, they should tell you, the cost by phone or email before they mail it to you. If you were standing at a retail pharmacy, when they tell you the cost of a medication, you can tell them, you can't afford that and say you don't want it.
I called them about it, they said they understood and will credit me. They never did so I made NUMEROUS phone calls to them. I disputed the charge through my credit card, and it was ruled in my favor. Credit card said it is a permanent credit to my account. then they charged my credit card the next month and the next month, so my credit card said it's FRAUD for them to keep charging my account for a charge that's been cleared. My credit card had to close out my account, and issue me a new card! this is FRAUD!! Since then I filed two complaints with the BBB. I can't understand how this fraudulent company can stay in business! I now go to my local pharmacy.

I called to take care of that prescription and the woman on the other end, transferred me to an information line that doesn’t have a receptionist.
Fast forward I had to cancel a prescription. I got the same woman and she transferred to that same information line. She did that twice. I had to make three phone calls just to cancel one prescription. That’s 20 minutes of my life gone. I am not gonna work with Express Scripts and I don’t recommend anybody do. I feel like this woman doesn’t know how to do her job so she just transfers you over and you can’t review her either because you never get to the end of the call to write a review about her. Every month there is a new problem with Express Scripts. For example, I received an email that I needed to log into the app to initiate a prescription. When I logged into the app, there is no available option to initiate the prescription. In fact, I could only find it under automatic renewals, but I had received the email stating I needed to do something to initiate the renewal. I called, and dealt with an automated system. None of the options they gave me fit my problem. I tried several ways to get through to a live person so that I could get the help I needed, but none of them worked.
There have been several occasions in which the medicine needed did not arrive in time before the previous prescription ran out. This has left us without insulin And glaucoma medication that is needed on a daily basis. Additionally, there has been denial of a medical device which the physician said Medicare typically covers, but Express Scripts being the pharmacy option who makes the determination denied it. This are just the most recent difficulties I have had with them, but new things happen every month. Their email requests for action don’t match the options that are given on the app and it is hard to get to a live person via the phone and since the options offered don’t match the need, we are left with nothing. This is my third one star rating for them.

The insurance is Bluecross Blueshield HMO and the medicine is managed by Express Scripts. Some years ago Express Scripts began needing prio-authorization for this medicine. My doctor submitted the form and got approved. Several years ago, they denied prio-authorization and forced my doctor to try generic. So my doctor prescribed generic. However after taking the medicine for one month, the blood pressure was not controlled and I had allergy symptom like itching and short breath. At that time my doctor appeal their decision and insisted brand Benicar.
Beginning from then, every year my doctor filed prio-authorization. The insurance company denied. My doctor office filed appeal and then finally got approved. However this year, Express Scripts denied prio-authorization, denied appeal, denied external review. So they forced a patient taking generic medicine which doesn't control blood pressure and cause allergy. Keep away from this insurance. They don't care patient's life.

I have had nothing but problems with this company. I called to refill my script in Feb 2025. I was told $617.00. That was higher than I normally pay. And I was put on payment plan for it. First payment should have been $205.00. When I received my script, the invoice was in there with the breakdown of the payment plan. When I looked at the invoice I almost passed out!!!! The total cost for the meds was almost $3000.00. I checked my credit card, and they almost charged me $1000.00 for the first payment of the payment plan. I immediately called Express Scripts to tell them about their error. I told them that I did NOT approve the almost $3000.00 cost for meds and that I only approved the cost of $617.00. They said someone would call me about it. No one called.
So, I called them again. They stated that they could not take the meds back and that I could not get a refund. I called my credit card company to dispute the 1st charge. And I did not dispute the $617.00 since that is what I agreed to pay. March 2025, I get 2 charges on my credit card. One charge is for 981.64 and $489.28. I called Express Scripts again and nothing was done on their end. I proceeded to call my credit card company to dispute those charges again. June 2025 Express Scripts charged my card for $121.54 & $858.04. July 2025 more charges from them for $367.73 & $816.84. I contacted Express Scripts again and they claim they gave me my money back. I checked my credit card, and the charges were still on there.
Again, I called my credit card company to dispute. Express Scripts charged my cc again in July 2025 for $1143.35. I called Express again and the claim they can no longer give me a refund because I was already given a refund in the last 18 months. I'm still in a battle with them and no one has called me back from this company. I swear I never leave negative reviews but at this point, I have to share my experience. Express Scripts will give you nothing but stress and anxiety. You will experience nearly everything BUT the ease of getting your prescription filled and delivered in a timely manner. I've had prescriptions take three weeks to be delivered - for a 30 day medication!
But this time around.. this time around my doctor sent in a prescription on 8/5.. I call that same day to let Express Scripts know that I will be going out of town on 8/16. I let them know I will need my medication delivered before then and to update the shipping speed to the FedEx overnight option. While on the phone, I'm assured that my medication will be delivered on 8/8 or 8/11. By 8/12, my medication has still not shipped. I call Express Scripts and they assure me the order will be shipped shortly. That day, I receive a notification "my order has shipped". This is a lie! It's been two days (now 8/14), and despite being given a tracking number, FedEx has still NOT received my package.
I called Express Scripts to ask what was going on and was told "your order was given to FedEx", "your order is no longer in our facility", "there's nothing we can do because we no longer have your medication" and was told to call FedEx. I've called FedEx... twice... and FedEx has ASSURED ME they DO NOT have my package. In addition, the tracking number provided to me clearly states that "FedEx is waiting for your package" and I have no expected ship date or expected delivery date. Oh, and FedEx told me that they can see the original expected delivery date was 8/13 (it's now 8/14) but they never received the package.
I explained all of this to Express Scripts and still... the only response I get is that they do not have my medication. It's hard to believe that apparently 'no one' has my medication?! I now am completely out of medication. I have one business day before I leave for a business trip and have almost zero chance of getting my medication in time. It's stressful, anxiety inducing, and all Express Scripts does is give you the run around saying "it's not our fault". If you have a choice in pharmacies, steer clear.

I have seen inefficiency but cannot believe this company actually gives wrong information. They will tell you what you want to hear but their reps are not trained. So you will be left to believe everything is great with your order until it's too late. And yes they change coverage/no coverage every year so every year check all your meds.
